Inside the Marriott this is a great bar in a beautiful property. The staff was attentive, friendly and the drinks and food were great. Great selection of beer. . This is a huge hotel so bring your walking shoes!

If you looking for sports emersion and some upgraded bar eats then this is the sport. Make a sure bet with a Buddy and when you win game day at the High Velocity will settle the bet. The best thing is you'll both win overall. The food is great, the drinks are premium, and the sport are totally covered like the stocks on Wall Street. A treat for everyone.

Excellent service. Very packed but never had to wait for a refill. Efficient and pleasant staff. Awesome TV's.

The food was surprisingly good and not that pricey for a higher end resort. The portions were generous.

I would like to most say that our sever Alex Old was by far the best experience of our entire stay at this JW Marriott. Visit him and High Velocity Bar and Grill.

Poor service, very loud with large screens (but maybe that is what most people want in a sports bar), food average sports bar fare!

We ate here several times during our stay. If we were full from earlier in the day we chose delicious salads. If we were hungry - there were plenty of choices for that as well. Friendly and helpful staff.

The staff was friendly and prompt. The food was very good for bar food. PLENTY of televisions to watch.

We waited on the pretzel for more than 15 minutes should be these eas thing on the menu to get out You’re in a hurry don’t you get this restaurant don’t eat at this restaurant

Although this is considered to be a sports bar, children are still welcome to dine here. It is much more family oriented (as opposed to a regular bar).

So I really enjoyed this place during my stay at the JW Marriott. A good scene for a hotel in the middle of Texas, but my colleagues thought it was a little overpriced. I can see it both ways. I'll pay for atmosphere and I liked it here so worth my money.

Our server was not very good, but our food was good. It's a really cool place to watch ballgames with the huge screens. The bar staff was very helpful, though.

Watch any game on the big screens. More of a bar atmosphere. Lots of fun. They let us sit in a closed section after we promised we didn't need food and we would get our own drinks at the bar. We just wanted a place to sit together. It was really nice of them to let us do that. And we didn't mind getting our drinks at the bar. It was late and they had already let staff go! I love when a place will accommodate a large group.

Great service and good food. Staff were great. Family friendly. A bit noisy but you have to expect this at a family resort.

Sunday sports crowd overloaded staff. Had to wait for table. Waitress was great. Good sandwiches and plenty of TVs to watvh games.

My family and I ate here while staying at the Marriott. The noise is a bit much BUT the food was great. We had the triple play Chips with salsa/queso/guacamole and it was very good. The kids meals were great too. Overall, it's a great casual place to enjoy and nice meal with a lot of sports all over the tv's!

Wow...what big screen to look at next...the ultimate way to watch March Madness! The food was very tasty, although at $15 for a burger ...it should be. Service one night was awesome, not so much the next. But in all fairness they were overwhelmed by how busy the hotel was over a holiday weekend. Overall a fun environment.

Texas size screens display sporting events from every angle. We enjoyed the onion rings tower and the dry rub chicken wings. They have a great selection of bar drinks but we settled for some good cold local brews. Ordered the 22 ounce cause it's hot in Texas this time of year. Place was packed because it is a holiday weekend. Kids are welcome. A little noisy but we were by a window so talk was doable. Lisa was our waitress and she steered us in the right direction on brews and wings. No wait as we were a party of 2. Large groups did have a little wait time. Even with the place packed they did not rush us in/out after we had finished our meal.

Great visit this past weekend for an early dinner with friends. We decided to go the appetizer route to try a variety of items and were happy we did. LOVE the spinach artichoke dip and Calamari. Every way you look, there is a screen with all different types of sports, so it's a great spot for happy hour, lunch or a nice weekend getaway.

They have a great vibe and both services and food was really good. I would recommend it for a stop worth your while!

it is a very nice sport bar at the JW MARRIOTT, they have a big tv where you can watch all the sports of the day with a drink and a very good burgers and quesadillas, good for an afternoon that you stay at the hotel

It's not on the menu but bartender Stephanie made me quite possibly the best Sangria I've ever had! The food was pretty good, not a ton of choices. Very loud! Great place to catch a sports game for sure.

I visited the JW Marriott San Antonio this weekend for a get away. I live in Corpus and weather was horrible so decided to get out of town. Whether was still rainy but not nearly what the coast got. I really enjoyed the food here. The first place I visited was the sports bar. I ordered onion rings for an appetizer, they were awesome, and the philly sandwich as my meal and it was pretty good. Service was really great. Fine dining service in a sports bar for sure. the restaurant it self was pretty empty especially for a Saturday night. I wasn't impressed with the manager though. He didn't come off very friendly and we saw him yelling at an employee by the bathrooms. Felt bad for the employee especially because it was out in the open for us to see. EMBARASSING. All in all I will be back. Service and food will bring me back.

The service was pretty slow here. The food was okay. I had the fish tacos which were a little dry. Otherwise, it was okay.

Great spot in the hotel to grab a cold beer and a great burger. TV screens everywhere to watch all kinds of sports. Friendly staff with great food!

Good food and a great way to watch the football, and all other sports for that matter. Didn't need reservations for lunch. I imagine that they would take them for dinner. Many big and small screen TV's.

Really good bar food. We stayed at the hotel 4 days and ate there a couple of times. The TV set up is fantastic with big screens everywhere to view your favorite event. Great atmosphere which we didn't expect for a hotel bar. Definitely recommend it.

This is just another typical hotel bar with average food, poor service, and high prices. They do have a good selection of TV's to watch the game on and unlike the hotel they don't lose signal every few minutes.

The menu was typical sport bar food, but everything we tried was delicious and the service was great. I had the grilled chicken sandwich and it was very flavorful. Also had wings which were also good. If you want to watch a sporting event this is the place to go. The HUGE screens are like nothing I have ever seen, and smaller TV's are spread out everywhere so everyone has a good view. You also have views of the beautiful grounds out of the floor to ceiling windows.

Multiple huge screen tv's. Watched the Bama game and Astro game. Had the wings- they were ok. Wife and son liked their burgers.

Great burgers, awesome thai beef salad. A good place to watch a screen big enough for some football stadiums. But not Texas stadiums! Staff can be a bit overwhelmed at times. Its a nice place to hang out with friends for drinks and bar food.

As I said in a separate review, this resort hotel has a great selection of places to eat - High Velocity is the classic sports bar except that it has TV screen that are the height of small buildings!! The food is excellent with lots of selections.

I was forced to eat lunch at this restaurant in the JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa when I could not get into Cibolo Moon across the lobby. I had the Texas Black & Blue burger, which was amazing. Very flavorful! I was also extremely impressed by the selection of Texas and San Antonio microbrew beers, and had an 'Alamo' and 'Ranger Creek-Love.' The screens above the bar are the biggest you have ever seen, and the resolution was excellent. I only had one meal in this restaurant, so I can't vouch for other dishes. But I would easily return next time I visit the resort.

This restaurant is close to the water park entrance. It is a really cool sports bar with a large multi-screen TV that runs the length of the bar. Food was typical sports bar fare, and we enjoyed it. We ate buffet breakfast there one morning, and it was good. We would go back

We are staying at the JW Marriott for a family vacation and left our older kids in the room with room service and had a much needed date night. We went to Velocity and had some beers before ordering. I ordered the Blue cheese burger with fried onion strings and jalapenos. It was cooked to a perfect medium rare and super juicy. This burger was so good that I didn't dare put it down! THis is BIG, but it may have been the best burger I've ever eaten!!! My hubby had boneless wings which were good and spicy! The bartender was fabulous! I highly recommend a casual dinner here!

Lea was awesome and greeted me with a smile. Was always there to refill drinks and cater to anything I asked. Much appreciated.

Wow! The screens are amazing no place like it!!! Nothing like watching the spurs win!! The wings are great and the service is amazing. The view of the games is surpassed by none! There is a vast menu and we had the wing special it was amazing.

The food here is really good. Once we got it. The experience on the service side was not stellar. They seemed to be having service issues overall that night and because the server was doing his best, it makes it hard to penalize too much. We were seated for 15 minutes before we even had a server. The food was extremely slow coming out of the kitchen. Once we got a server and the food was served, it was a good experience. Hopefully they get the service figured out.

The sports bar was AMAZING - the service was great, the food was average. Go to watch a game and grab a drink, and eat across the courtyard at Cibolo Moon instead.

The video screens were awesome. The onion rings were very delicious. The gluten free enchilada stack was superb with the tomatillo salsa verde. This is a sports bar so there are the one or two obnoxious drunks cheering for their team.

Early dinner with team members following pre-conference meeting set-up. The perfect way to relax with good football and good food. Wings are excellent. Good reviews from all on whatever they ate.

This is a sports bar restaurant with really good, but expensive food. We had 1 burger, 2 orders of chicken tenders, and 1 kids meal and the price 74.00.

This bar certainly has wow factor and the ideal spot to have a social drink with friends. Perhaps drinks are pricey and the menu limited however the staff are attentive and even willing to learn to make a drink they don't serve there. An Australian "lemon lime and bitters" thanks guys for your endeavours.

I had dinner twice at this sports bar while attending a conference at the JW Marriott San Antonio hotel. The first time I was with several friends and on the second one I as on my own. I had chicken tenders the first time and loaded nachos on the second time. Portions are big, the food is good, they have a wide selection of beers on draft and servers are very nice. I would surely recommend this place if you are sleeping at the hotel.

Food was your typical average sports bar food, and service was ok. The TV's in there are impressive though, it may be worth going just for that.

Beer selection was good. The wraparound huge screens were the largest I have ever seen. It would have been great to see a football game on the screens. Did not eat any food so cannot give a review. We were there for about one hour at the end of the night. Service was good but the resort provided great service at all locations.

Not sure where they got the day old fried food from, or why they think it is acceptable to charge upscale prices for leather that is inedible. Stay away from the chicken fingers at all costs.

The burgers here are some of the best I have had in san Antonio. Thick angus beef with aged cheddar. Good hot fried. and a nice bar with tons of beers on tap. Also loads of large plasma screens for watching HD sports. Heaven.

We enjoyed the casual atmosphere of the restaurant. My husband and I shared the fish tacos for a late lunch--plenty of food and plenty of flavor! Our son had chicken tenders and fries...good, basic food for kids! Nice beer menu, good service and fun atmosphere.

The menu could use a little more variety, especially for kids, given that this is a kid-oriented hotel.

I returned to find the food and service are still top notch. I saw the same manager, Justin, and when I asked what he recommended, he said the mushroom swiss after I told him I loved mushrooms. He was so right in his choice. I have to say that with a manager like him, this place is awesome. He told me that my waitress was cross training as well and she was great. I believe her name was Bri and I can't remember the name of the lady that was training her but she was great too. Then I saw something that I usually don't see. I saw a restaurant that was short handed with waitstaff and the manager Justin stepped in to help. Great food, great waitstaff and the most awesome Manager that will make your experience the best. Go check it out and meet him and let his staff take care of you. Can't wait to be able to go back.

Super additional to this beautiful property.... Decor, food, service. Located on the lower level off of the lobby.

Here they have a lot of large TV s for your viewing pleasure. Although most of the sporting events are all done. Being able to watch the US Open was great for us.

Great food, beveridges and service. Numerous big screen tv's abound so everyone gets a view. Good selection of leisure foods from snacks to full meals. Relaxing atmosphere.

Nice place with laid back ambiance. Offers a private party option as they have delegated space. Good drinks and nice selection on tap. Decent service as well.

Just wish that the dessert options were better, and the ones that we chose, had tasted better. Service was not good.

What a great place to watch a sporting event! Add to this really good service and tasty food and drinks. The televisions are huge!

High Velocity located inside The JW Marriott Hill Country Resort is a great place to have a meal and drinks while watching all your favorite sports. They have lots of TV's and a massive screen that nearly runs across the entire restaurant. Great for kids as well. Food is very good. Remember, your paying for the resort.

We had a great time. We had a flight of beer, or two, from local breweries. There is a wall of games. Our waitress was Bree. She was amazing. She was very friendly, very informative, and had a great attitude. The beer was cold, and the food was fantastic. I had the Bacon, Cheese Burger, and my wife had the "Double Play," which was Chips, Queso and Guacamole. Everything was delicious.

My grandkids had a ball at this sports bar with a multitude of big screen TV's and a menu that obviously caters to the kiddos with mac & cheese, chicken fingers, burgers, fries, etc. They're picky eaters but at this place, they ate everything in sight!!! One of the few places I've taken them where we didn't waste any food. So I didn't mind paying the higher priced ticket for this very reason.

Good food fun environment, much too cold inside the restaurant for families, should have some outside sitting. Some healthier options should be offered . Maybe a Karaoke or dance area for families

Kid friendly for a sports bar. Black and blue burger and fish and chips were good. A little pricey, but for hotel food it was better than expected.

Cheese fries, onion rings were great! The healthier items were a little bland. Spinach salad and chicken tortilla soup were just okay. Prices are good and the service is excellent - hard to be fair when there are two amazing restaurants on property to compare it to. Huge TVs all playing March College Conference Tourney games all day -- what could be better?

Great place for dinner on the first night of our trip. Good was very good and the prices were not bad at all. Great vibe to the place and a great place to watch sports.

The place has a great atmosphere for friends or family. I got to catch some of the games going on this past Sunday. Really great burgers and good service.

A very fun sports bar with more television then you are able to watch, including a "wavy" projection screen above the bar with at least 5 projector. I had the Philly cheese steak sandwich and fries. Being true in Texas, this was a large sandwich and very good.

Typical sports bar fare. I had the burger and fries with chips and salsa. The good: great burger and fries!!! Yummy! The bad: price: $16 for burger and fries and $9 for chips and guacamole. No restaurants near the hotel so they have a captive audience and can charge outrageous prices. Also, and this was irritating: I asked for chips and salsa only and to be served as appetizer. Regrettably they served both at the same time and added guac at $9. Yeah, expect nickel and diming here.

I went in with a friend to get a bite to eat and the food was great. It was so much that neither of us could finish. The big screens were clearly a draw for those who were there. I found them distracting, but we chose High Velocity over Cibolo Moon because of the wait (1 hour!) at Cibolo Moon. Service was friendly, but not too speedy.

We had burgers, fries, salads, and turkey melt sandwiches and it was all delicious. The staff was friendly and service was prompt.

It was a great place to watch people--from young to old! The food is good, and was always served by somebody that had a smile on their face! Excellent service!

Stopped in here for a quick lunch one day. The fish tacos were AMAZING. Very flavorful! I also liked the homemade ranch that came with the house salad.

A bit disappointed since the rest of JW restaurants and service had been very good at this hotel. It’s a very bright and lively sports bar. The menu is limited and average bar food fare. Ordered nachos to come first but waited forever and they came with rest of entrees. They were cold. Burger was average and fries lukewarm. Must have sat for awhile. Wings were decent. Service was slow. Drinks not refilled and soda flat... just subpar all the way around.

This sports bar is located inside the "palace like" JW Marriott Resort. It has amazing 100+ inch projection TVs above the bar displaying live sports events. I had the Calamari and a sandwich the bartender recommended with a "blonde". The Calamari were pretty mediocre. The sandwich wasn't anything special The beer was expensive - something like 8 bucks for a small beer. Great place to follow a sports event with a large group I guess. I would probably go somewhere else, however, with better and more reasonable food and drink options. If you are into large TVs ...this is the place to go !

Surprisingly the food was wonderful. We were not expecting it to be so great since most hotel bar foods are not. Atomosphere was nice. Large, spacious with lots of TVs to view. Speciality drinks were delicious and the service was top notch.

Good pub style food....sports atmosphere ....kind of noisy....lots of TV's on the walls to watch while eating and having a beverage

Our anniversary dinner was so very memorable due to the service we received by Thauyha Fox. Thauyha worked at High Velocity but actually ran over to another sister resort restaurant to assist in making our dinner reservations and then hand delivered back a menu AND had chocolate covered strawberries AND champagne delivered to our room! Who does this??!!?? She does! This was off the charts amazing!

The folks at High Velocity will get you a great table and with all the TV's, you'll have a great view! We had a blast!

Decent sports bar with lots of giant tv's! Bar food is very good but be read for J W Marriott drink prices lol Was there for a private event and bar was extremely spacious. There was a band and the sound was good although a bit loud. Overall would be an amazing place to watch a football game with a few beers!

The service was very good and the food was your average sports bar fare. Tons of TVs with all the games on. They are open late.

The screens are amazing and make watching sports fun. We had the grilled chicken sandwich and the nachos. Both were just ok, not anything I would go back for.

Sports bar atmosphere with HUGE screens. The HUGE plate of nachos were so good. I wanted to eat more, but like I said...they were huge.

We ate here during the spa girl tri. Resort was packed and didn't want to wait in line. Food was good. Wings needed to be fried a bit longer but good flavor and French fries. Yummy drinks too. Great place to watch a game. Huge screens!!

We visited while staying at the JW Marriott. Food was very good as were the range of beers on offer (neither were cheap). The cool feature was the massive projector screens above the bar.

Stopped in for dinner. Screens are HUGE!!! Wish something would have been on to watch but it was a bad time of year. Drinks are a little pricey but I guess to be expected as a resort. Not sure who a domestic draft is the same price as a premium or craft but oh well. The kids buffet was perfect. Frankly it made me want to be 10 again. Food was good and so many options for the little ones to choose from. The regular meals were good. Flavorful and large portions. Only fault as mentioned was drink prices, go down even a couple $ and people will probably order more.

Spent a few hours here watching sports, amazing amount of screens showing all sports. Service was good, food is what you would expect just pub meals. Drinks are kind of reasonable price wise. They have a wide range of beers and spirits not so much wine though. Good way to kill some time and chill if your looking for a great quality meal drink there eat somewhere else

Typical bar food since they have wings, burgers, salad, soup, fries, flatbread, etc. ... but we really DID enjoy it. It was an easier menu to navigate for our 10YO who knew exactly what she wanted! During our 6 day stay, we ate there 3-4 times! One thing to keep in mind...they open late (around 5pm) and are not available for lunch.

We had lunch at this bar. It was very good food and the service was over the top. It is not fair to call it a bar. it has nice seating and great food. Wonderful view of the grounds.

Sports bar...dragon wings are a mix of teriyaki and serachi....good stuff. Tacos...good.. hamburger...good. Laid back atmosphere and good enough food at a comparable price. Tip your waiters and enjoy!

Hey, they have TV's everywhere, and giant projections up on the walls above the bar area. An incredible site! Food is good, and fair price (good sized servings). Service is very good, even with take out. Highly recommend it! The wings are very good. I enjoyed the dry rub. A good variety of foods.

Had a cobb salad - chicken cooked perfectly with just the right amount of seasoning. Brian the bartender was great! Recommend the Fireman's 4 beer! Great light tasting local beer. Can't wait to come back and watch a little football on the huge screen tv's!

High Velocity offered quick service and a generous variety of casual food favorites. We were able to watch multiple games on both small and HUGE screens. Service was outstanding.

Had a great night at High Velocity. Atmosphere was fun, food was delicious and service was fantastic. Thanks Amanda T!

I love this sports bar but the biggest surprise is the quality of the menu. You can get wings and nachos but the wings come in your choice of rubs and sauces and the nachos are smoked with real cheese (not velveeta, etc). This fish tacos blackened are nice and spicy and the french dip is huge, meaty and delicious. They also have a great lineup of beers (many from TX) and spirits to go along with the 25 or so TVs.

Monster projection TV's above the bar and multiple screens all over the bar bring you all the sports you can handle. Good food and a well stocked bar round out this fun bar. Definitely worth a meal and always worth a late-night nightcap.

We were staying in the hotel and we went to High Velocity to watch the final Sunday slate of NFL games. The place had enough seating and they were playing all the games. We found a Huge TV and settled down in front of it to watch our team's game. The Sports Bar is awesome. Its probably one of the best sports bar I have ever been too. It has a 120 foot projection TV. Just mesmerizing. They have a wide variety of drinks - I had a draft beer and my wife had a cocktail which she said was very good. My son had lemonade which was very tasty as well. We ordered appetizers, Onion Rings, French Fries, Grilled Cheese Sandwich for my 3.5 year old son and a french onion soup. The food was good - the soup was amazing. I also ordered some chips and salsa which was great. It was a wonderful experience watching the game here and it was made better by the fact that our team won and made the playoffs :)

This place is idea for catching college or NFL football. Tons of TV's, many of them projection, and even a sports ticker below the bar that provides updates on all the games. The service and food however was average at best.

Great service, pleasant staff, and fun to visit! The food is hot and fresh and tasty! Great place for solo or family. Enjoyed my lunch/dinner.

We ate mostly at this restaurant during our stay at the hotel, mainly because it had a variety of food to choose from and, the olympics were on. The first time we waited a long time to get our food. We didnt love the place, but it wasnt bad.

Food is good. Prices are fair. It's a fun Sports Bar environment, if that's what you are looking for.

This Bar had great fish tacos, great beer, and service! I always have the Thai Steak salad (one of my favorites) and my husband said the fish tacos are as good as the ones he has in California!

Went late on a Friday evening after checking in to hotel Hostesses let us seat ourselves (not usually a good sign) Took a while for table service after sitting down Food was good, but menu not really to our liking Televisions and scores/news ticker are one of a kind a really cool

Call me impressed. They have the biggest TV screens I have ever seen outside of Vegas. It is a high end (yuppy) sports bar but has a buffet for kids. The menu is limited but try the Green Chili Burger! It is one of the best burgers I have had. It is so big that 2 people could split it. The drinks are a little pricey but it is still a great family-friendly place to watch a game!

The TV options are great, especially the big scrolling screens above the bar. The back wall is a wall of TVs but they could be bigger so that you could see them from a table in the middle of the restaurant. We sat at a table next to the bar. Would have liked to sit at the bar to eat but our daughter wasn't allowed to sit there. It was crowded with a grumpy bartender. Once we got to the table the wait staff improved. The menu is ok - we chose to dine here after a long day at Sea World so it was great for what we were looking for. Would have liked to see more options on the menu. Also would like to have this place open for lunch too.

Very nice sports bar with a good selection of draft and bottled beers and bar food. The bar can get quite noisy on a game night, but even there are great seating areas outside the bar that still have TV views but are quieter. But inside the bar - the wall of TVs is just amazing! And a huge bar with lots of seating. Don't worry about missing the big game.

During a recent stay I had 2 great experiences at High Velocity. The first was a solo dinner sitting at the bar. The service was great. The cocktails great and the food was very good. I had a bowl of soup and the Asian Salad. The steak on the salad was cooked to perfection and the portion size was large. I'm a big guy and the combination of the two filled me up. I would have this salad any day of the week. Our second visit to the HV on this stay started out as a group of 6 for cocktails and some appetizers and we wound up having 4 more join us and stayed for dinner. Our server (Aaron) was great and kept adding tables and chair for us despite our taking up his area much longer than we originally planned. Eventually the group decided to stay in and have entrees as well. Aaron kept everyone happy, fed and with drinks. I was very impressed that even when the rest of his section filled up with guests our level of service never seemed to wane. And because of this being work related we needed separate checks in the end and he handled this great. All of the food was terrific. Great portions served fast and fresh.

Great sports bar with excellent food! Tv's couldn't be beat. We were with kids that could go into the lobby to play games and return quickly when food was ready.

If you are looking for a large screen - here it is. Probably the largest screens I have ever seen. The food is okay and worth the money. Drinks are expensive. Good enough to eat and enjoy.

Great staff and the manager was awesome to help us find "our game" on one of the many TV's. Food was above average for bar food and the serving sizes are huge (they say Texas sized). Good beer selection although not a huge amount of crafts but what they did service was good.

A sports bar/restaurant more televisions than a person can watch, a very large "wavey" projection screens above the bar. Great "bar" food

If you stay at the JW Marriott Hillcountry try out the high velocity sports bar downstairs. We enjoyed a great dinner Best Mahi fish tacos I've had in sometime. Service was excellent and of course pricing is a little expensive being at the hotel but it was well worth the experience.

Really nice sports bar, even though we were there for the food and drinks (highly recommended!) rather than the sports on all the big TV screens

The coolest thing about High Velocity is the ambiance, but that goes for the hotel/resort as well. I always enjoy stopping in for drinks and bringing people to check out the huge projection that goes across the length of the bar. But of the multiple times I've had dinner/lunch here I'm always left feeling less then satisfied. This past weekend was definitely the worst and the reason I will stop eating there. The waitress/wait time was definitely not up to the 5 stars of this establishment and the food was only so-so. All of the couples who ate dinner were over charged different amounts and one was even charged twice, to which the waitress' response was "Oh, it will fall off and this happens for some reason and I don't know why." I will continue to visit High Velocity but only for drinks, not for food.

The menu at High Velocity was accommodating, even for our party that deals with gluten allergies. The Kids buffet had more than enough food selections to keep the little one's busy happy and busy eating. I had the grilled chicken sandwich and I have to say, it was one of the best grilled chicken sandwiches I've ever had. The French fries were quite tasty, too. Service was prompt and very friendly. Menu prices felt a little high but hey, it's a resort!

This restaurant has at least 15 large TV's for watching sports. The food is typical sports bar food, but I had a very nice salad. They also have a good spinach & artichoke dip. Other people enjoyed the burgers. They also have a good selection of beers.

This cafe at the J.W. Marriott Resort is in one of the lobbies, with a bar. The food is essentially bar food at inflated prices. My husband had a "Barbecue beef flatbread" that was about the size of his hand and had about four small pieces of meat on it, along with a glass of wine. I had a turkey sandwich and ginger ale. Our bill was over $80. Nuff said.

Good food, the loaded fries were good but service was extremely poor, even on a slow night. Had to get up out of our seats a couple of times to hunt down a manager and server to take our order and get assistance with food needs. Lame for a resort.

located in the JW Marriott, this is a huge sports bar with the biggest tv I've ever seen. Similar to the times square scrolling ticker, only about 10 feet wide its really something to see. There's booths with tv's in them as well which is cool. No matter what game you want to watch, you can find it. Food and drink are good, a little pricey, but it's the JW... your not there unless you've got the money. You can sit outside by the fire and watch the game through the huge glass wall too.

This is a great place to grab a bite while staying at the JW Marriott. Service is good. Only complaint is that their beer is not very cold. I'm not very picky and it was still not cold enough. I have been here on several occasions and had the same experience. Food is always good.

Enjoyed sharing several items with friends. It is a fun atmosphere to hang out and and unwind after a long day of meetings.

Delicious mushroom-swiss burger and great customer service. They even brought me a blanket one night when they saw we were cold.

We spent a couple of hours here while staying at the JW Marriott. Loved the wall to wall tv screens showing all televised college football games... this is a great place when there are lots of different sporting events going on simultaneously. They even played cartoons there during breakfast for the kiddies!

The drinks were great(bartender actually knew how to make a martini-----they are not straight gin or gin with 2drops of vermouth.) These were like the ORIGINAL martini (4 parts gin to 1 part vermouth).

While we’re waiting for our room to be ready, we decided to try and have lunch our server who was very nice and helpful and helpful. The food was mediocre at best truly disappointing and for the price wow! I’m shocked this restaurant is inside The JW ! I would not return.

The burger we split was good and it was pre split prior to serving. There were plenty of fries for both of us. The screens were the biggest I had seen.

This was my first and last visit to this venue. We came to town for a family get away before my youngest son goes off to Ole Miss in a few weeks. We did not wish to get in the car and drive so it seemed natural to try this place. The onion rings were excellent and seemed to be plenty for the four of us. The burgers my wife and oldest son got was very big. The nachos my youngest son and I got was over flowing on the plate but was lacking in taste. The atmosphere was great and the service was solid. The quantity of food we got was very large but the quality was lacking. The tab for one appetizer, four entrees, three sodas, and one beer was nearly $100. Now this was not out of comparison had we chosen to get our car brought up and gone somewhere else since the tab and tipping the car valet going and coming would have clearly surpassed that total. If you are in search of ease and quantity while staying here at the resort then High Velocity is a good choice. If your searching excellent quality options then get in car and go find it.

Remarkable venue to watch sports games and to have a nice evening with friends. Our server, Adrian Cruz, was incredibly respectful and fun to interact with. He was also helpful in navigating us through the menu; highlighting his favorites as well as the people's favorites. My friends and I really enjoyed our time there, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing, classy, and delicious place to eat/drink. It's truly the best kept secret in San Antonio. I'll be coming back..

This poolside/lazy river restaurant is perfect for drinks and food while you relax by the water! The burgers are fantastic but avoid the salads as they are terrible! The waitstaff who roam the water attractions will take good care of you and bring you whatever your desire. Ours was beyond great and one of the best we have ever had!!!!

This is a must-see attraction. It's like you're in Vegas!!! Service and food quality was always good during the several times we went to this site during our week long stay at the Marriott. Just be aware of their drink prices which were way over-priced for a 'bar' atmosphere.

My wife and I enjoyed a good meal at High Velocity. Great staff and fantastic giant screen tv to watch sports plus smaller screens placed strategically among the seating areas so that every customer has an excellent view of the sports event being shown. Food is served in large portions. The price for food in this resort hotel is reasonable. My wife wanted a special soup that was not on the menu. The waiter went to other venues in the resort so to if the soup was available. Great customer service!

Great food and good service despite the large number of people who are always there. We had a large table of kids and adults who seemed to order at different times, but the waitress got everyone's orders correct and served in a timely and friendly manner. Patience is a must at a family resort, and the Marriott has definitely hired the right people for the job.

I recently went to High Velocity on the recommendation of a friend. I had the greatest experience there. Luke was my server and Mike was working the bar. These two guys kept me laughing all night. They kept the drinks flowing and the service at the top of their game. Then I met the manager that was working that night. His name was Justin. He came around and introduced himself to us and was even friendlier that I would have ever imagined a manager to be. He made sure we were taken care of. When the night started to get really busy and it looked like he and his staff were trying to set up for something big he still made sure he checked on all of the other customers in the restaurant. Justin, Luke and Mike are all great. Tip them a little extra next time you're in there just to say thanks for their hard work and for going that extra mile.

I live in San Antonio, not too far, and have heard great things. Food was delicious and watching a Spurs game there was awesome! Our server was Amanda T. she was so awesome! She is speedy, friendly, smiley, and really knows her stuff! The manager Tony, was extremely funny and nice! We will definitely be back and ask for Amanda to take care of us. Also see if Tony is around to say hello. The Chicken sandwhich is not a bad perk either!

Easy to get in and eat, watch sports after a day at the pool. Lots of TVs so no problem getting your desired game on a TV

Great sports bar. Awesome screens everywhere! Food and beverages were really good. Definitely recommend.

We had wings, nachos and my kids had the kid buffet. We had to wait over an hour for a table - wasn't too bad as my kids played on the grassy area outside the restaurant until our table was ready. Lots of tvs - great place to watch sports.

Wednesday evening. Restaurant ridiculously empty, yet it took 45 minutes to get two entrees. The large televisions are great, we practically watched an entire baseball game. Server was kind. Table wobbled....we were very hungry for a very long time.

Service was fast and the food very good. The menu is simple but with enough variety to find something good. I have low carb diet and the menu had a great chicken and veggies. But it is loud so be ready

Great sports bar with screens everywhere you look including their famous 120 foot mega screen over the large bar.

This is no longer a real sports bar. They discontinued the NFL package so you can only see the local games. Just be aware before coming to see another game. Very disappointing. We will not be back.

Great sports bar for families while staying the JW Marriott resort. Bring the kids to the buffet and they will enjoy, fruit, mac n' cheese, chicken nuggets, cookies, and several other items for under $10. The TV's are amazing and viewable from almost every angle in the restaurant. If you need something to hold you over instead of a big meal try eating during the happy hour for appetizers which are Texas sized and worth sharing. The prices are high but you are staying at a very nice resort!!!

The food was nice, nothing to rave about but our server was terrible. We were constantly waiting for everything, Drinks, Food, etc.....

Several of us stopped by to toss down some cold ones. This is a sports bar. They have a good selection on tap and in bottles. The projection TV's are on huge screens. Sit away from them for best viewing or you'll end up with a stiff neck.

Bland food that is highly overpriced! Nice atmosphere, but slow service. Save yourself the headache and bring your own food or find somewhere to eat outside of this hotel!

the size and number of TV screens amazed me. Food was much better than "bar food". Had a salad with grilled chicken that was moist and flavorful

This is a nice casual place to eat at the JW Marriott. The prices are a little more reasonable than the other restaurants. The service was excellent. The food was really good too. They also have a great beer selection and lots of tv's to watch sports.

A few weeks ago myself and a few buddies decided to go eat at High Velocity @ the JW Marriott in San Antonio. We choose this place because we heard about the giant tv screens, and flat screens all over the restaurant, and because we wanted to catch the Red Sox vs Yankees game. As we arrived, we were genuinely greeted by Amanda at the host stand and instantly felt like we were welcomed. As we sat down and started looking at the menu, our waiter Luke came by and greeted us and introduced him self to us. I asked Luke what beers they had from San Antonio. As he proceeded to inform me of the different beers available he recommended a great porter from Busted Sandal. I ordered the classic burger medium and another friend of mine ordered the Philly. As we waited for our food we notice a gentlemen in a suit going by each table and engaging with them asking them about their stay, and how their experience was with them was. I was impressed to see a manager out on the floor and engaging with the guest and ensuring that they enjoyed everything. That gentleman that was going table to table we found out later was a man name Justin. Justin brought our food out to us and instead of just placing the food down and leaving, Justin asked if he could get anything else for us. I asked him for a beer recommendation and he recommended a great choice of the Ranger Creek Oatmeal Pale ale.The beer paired beautifully with our food. As we came to the conclusion of our meal Justin, came back up to the table and asked how we enjoyed everything and noticed the red sox hat on and right away connected with me and started talking to us about when he use to work with the red sox. I thought it was really cool that we were treated like some one of importance instead of just another dinner or another guest. The food was amazing and the Philly was the closest to the real thing I have ever had out side of Phillidelphia. The burger was probably the best hamburger I have ever had. I will defiantly be returning to this place to watch more games, the food was excellent and the staff is top notch, they not only know their menu and their jobs well but they take pride in taking care of their guest. I would recommend this place to any one. Please pass these notes on to the staff as they are doing an amazing job.

Enjoyed an evening dinner at High Velocity for my daughters birthday. Kids had the buffet, which had plenty of variety (kids ages 4-9). Buffalo salad was AMAZING, I've thought about it a few times since our visit😉 The only down side of the restaurant was it was loud, which I guess I should have expected being a sports bar. Overall, nice place...Will definitely eat here again our next visit.

Michael at the bar is one of the best in the industry. I would highly recommend this as a place to eat and enjoy as a family, solo or with friends.

Very cool decor - lots of TVs showing current sporting events. Food is a good value for a luxury resort. Good selection of beers - really enjoyed a local San Antonio pale ale.

If sports is what you watch then this is the place to go. A wave TV wrapped along one wall of the restaurant. It is a great place to catch a game. The food is bar food with an upscale feel. The staff was great and the wine/beer selections were broad. The staff was accommodating if there was a good game that you wanted to watch, Duke vs. NC bball, that night. Well worth watching football here. Prices were typical resort prices.

We did not order food here, but came for drinks and to watch a football game. Our server was very friendly and brought a sample to taste. We saw families and couples enjoying the huge screens and food.

I had several meals at this place and each time I had something different. Every dish I had was excellent. The most origanal dish was a Pastoromi Cheese Burger. It was excellant. One time I ask for cheese on my fries and they loaded it with cheese. I would eat there again. If you stay there you must eat there. The bar is very good and have large tv screens to view sports.

Waiting for 30 minutes on a table when half the tables are empty (on every visit) is unacceptable from the restaurant management. Food was OK - but service from the start was poor at best!!!

Great television setup which is what we wanted to watch NCAA basketball tournament. Service was good. The food was ok to poor. Expected much better quality particularly for the price and the resort

The food was just ok for the price and our service wasn't that great. The food is kind of expensive so I wouldn't go back unless I wanted to watch a sport event on the huge screens they have.

A children's buffet was available the night we dined here and was a good value for the price. Our food seemed to take a bit long to arrive - but 2 different managers came by to apologize and our waiter was good as well!

Entertaining on the weekends for sure, good bar good and people watching. Kitchen closes a little early so be sure not to wait to make your way down for a late night bite.

Liked it all, the fish tacos were good as was the turkey club sandwich Good fries, beer selection, my kids loved the homemade mac and cheese

The atmosphere is very relaxed. I had a great Southwest salad! The staff was very attentive - did not have to wait for anything.

The place is awesome for those who don't want to miss a beat when it comes to sports...food is good as is the ambiance.

The Sports bar was a bit small but that just made it feel a little quaint, not tight. The reason I gave it 4 stars is because it played only baseball, on ALL of it's screens. Which are many. It would have been really nice to have had other sports to watch. Because of this, we opted not to go there a second time (we could get the same quality of food in one of the other areas and then didn't have to watch just baseball which we don't care for).

Nice happy hour and huge screens make this bar a must when at the JW Hill Country. Jeanette and Nicole were awesome, will be back.

We held a cocktail reception there and it was just a bar; the staff roped off an area for our party and arranged both a buffet line and drinks area, so it was fine. We still had people "cross over" the tapes to come into our area. One guy (I assume he was already drunk) actually took down the tape and stole a table from our party. Nothing's perfect, I guess. It didn't change my overall opinion of the hotel (5+)

Loved that the kids buffet had great choices! The food was delicious but we didn't appreciate the 18% service fee on the food PLUS tipping. The food is already expensive.
A zillion craft beers, good food
We were staying at the hotel and had lunch here. Our waiter was awesome. I was with 2 small kids and my mother. The kids had burgers and mac and cheese. ($9/each) I saw that they have a kids buffet at night for a fixed price. We had protein salads. The dressings are special. Food is pub style but plenty to choose from. I loved the local craft beer selection. The bartender let me taste the Alamo beer which I hated although they have lots more than the one I tried. TV screens and giant digital boards everywhere. Bathrooms are large, modern and very clean. (this is important when you have little kids :) Waiters seemed to work as a team and quite well. Ice Tea is $3.50 but they are happy to send you with a to-go cup !
