Hohoho, now i've got a chinese delivery dude...

By Steven J |

so, i found the delivery method to get the food i want pretty much when i want it and ordered from HoHo Restaurant in SE portland. nothing really new on the menu, nothing really phenomenal, but i can attest to this: if you like it anywhere else, you'll love it here. if you have a fairly broad american western taste bud oriented pallet, you won't be disappointed with Hoho...

A Neighborhood Favorite

By Michael R |

Every time we decide to order take out, we start with Ho Ho as first choice, then go through other options, just to make sure of our current preference. Most times we end up right where we started and order from HoHo. The food is always excellent and the options are enough to satisfy even the pickiest appetite. Our favorite combination is pot stickers, General Tso's chicken, Pad Thai and Pepper salted shrimp. Everyone gets what they want and there are always left overs. You can't beat them for a good meal at a reasonable price.

Excellent General Tsao’s Chicken

Excellent General Tsao’s chicken, maybe the best I’ve had. Pork lo mein was also good. Much thinner noodles than most places. Ordered thru Grubhub, which made it easy.

Really Delicious

I got ma po bean curd and pot stickers to go. It was delicious. I will eat there again for sure. Price was reasonable and service very prompt. I noticed they had other positive reviews also. Portland has a lot of great Chinese food and Hoho is right at the top.

Very good food, very fair prices.

Best General Tso’s chicken in town. It’s hard to veer from this as my order. The few times I have I’ve enjoyed my choice. But man the General Tso’s chicken good.

Food is great, still in need of interior dining improvements

They inside needs lots of work still but thankfully they've 'cleaned up' the air act since debuting on Fox 12's Dirty Diners in 2015

Great standards

We have only had delivery (Amazon prime) and have not been in. I do pass it on the bus everyday and just realized today it is the one with the major remodeling going on so i am glad we are supporting them- I am sure thier business is struggling with all the signs down and tarps and stuff all over (as of 1/4/17). As for the food- we have had the spring rolls- good but the wrappers had a stale smell and taste- hopefully just a one time thing. We also had wontons both meat and crab- both were excellent but the crab was worth the extra few cents. Hot and sour soup was good with a nice selection of vegies. the wont ton soup also good- not a lot of dumplings but it was a small bowl. We had a Happy Family which was delish but had way too much sauce- there were almost 2 inches in the bottom of the container once the food was removed. We will def be ordering again and may have to stop by in person!

Perfect Chinese and Vietnamese in a casual setting

By Heywoodya |

Okay, right off the bat...this is not your typical Chinese restaurant. It's at the end of a strip mall and there are none of the usual tacky Chinese decorations. The dining area is very simple with formica tables and paper napkins...nothing fancy, just "let's get down to business and eat!" The difference is in the menu...lots to choose from and it's all fresh and delightful. The Pepper-salted squid and/or shrimp is always one of my favorites. The wok charred green beans are another good choice, as well as the Lo-mein (order it spicy). I've had quite a few dishes from the menu, which is pretty extensive with Chinese, Vietnamese, and a little Thai. They are always prepared very quickly, served hot, and invariably delicious. This is not a fine dining experience, so don't expect expert service. The waitstaff is very friendly and efficient and it's usually a little noisy at lunchtime as they're hustling meals out of the kitchen. Ho-ho's is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants, and I've eaten in a lot of them. The food is great and inexpensive. I always order extra to have leftovers for lunch the next day.

Really good Chinese food

Just went in for lunch the other day. We were pleasantly suprised at the quality and freshness of the food. They have a extensive lunch menu from 11-3 and it is cheaper than Mc D's and a whole lot better for you. We were served a cup of soup and had free tea with the meal and it was under $15 bucks for two if us. Not the best curb appeal but darn good food!
