We were celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary and I finally got my husband to try a Japanese restaurant. The moment we walked in he was impressed. We were greeted immediately by a very friendly staff member and seated immediately. The table had linen cloth and we were serviced immediately again in a very friendly and professional manner. The service remained consistent throughout our dinner. We ordered the teriyaki salmon and it was by far the best salmon we have ever eaten. The restaurant was modern and very clean. My husband was so impressed we returned a few days later and brought along his 2 sisters for lunch. Again the service and attention they gave us and especially his sisters is very impressive. Love this restaurant

Yummy rolls. Our foursome loved our rolls both the unagi rolls , spicy tuna crunch and the golden mushroom rolls and fiery special rolls. No complaints and we eat a lot of sushi!

Extremely pleased with quality of sushi. At a Tuesday lunch fish was as fresh and excellent as I have had just about anywhere. In view of quality, was an excellent value at the price charged (from lunch menu). Unqualifiedly recommend. Service was also excellent -- but inasmuch as I think there were only two other tables occupied, this was not a fair test.

The sushi is excellent and there's always a number of specials that are tasty. Their happy hour weeknights from 5-7 provides very good value for the meal. I especially like the surroundings and the decor and the service is always friendly and excellent.

The sushi is always good and quite inventive, especially in their specials. The waiters bring pictures of the specials to guide you. We enjoy the Happy Hour especially (before 7:00) because the princes are quite reasonable.

We went to Hokka Hokka to celebrate one of my grandsons graduation from High School. Our table of seven devoured mass quantities of hand and cut rolls, not to mention multiple adult beverages. They have some signature rolls that are unique and delicious. The service was excellent and the food was very, very good. The prices are reasonable and we all had a great time.

Large, family friendly restaurant with the best sushi in Chestnut Hill! Innovative rolls, sashimi, soups - and half price drinks and appetizers until 6 PM Monday-Thurs! Highly recommend this restaurant. Great service and if you go often, they remember your name and where you like to sit!

Sushi it was good. Helped celebrate an old man birthday. Food was good. Will definitely come back for more fresh sushi ..

This has become a family favorite! My family loves sushi, and this place is a gem on the edge of Chestnut Hill. It is a quaint and comfortable little spot. The service is excellent, the ambience and atmosphere are perfect for a family night out. We always get sushi of many varieties when we go, and everything is super fresh! This is among the most consistent restaurants we go as a family. You can't go wrong dining here, and to top it off...the price is right! It is a memorable experience every time without costing a fortune. You can always depend on having an exceptional time here!

This was the first time that I tried Hokka Hokka. Just by the name and looking inside from a distance intrigued my curiosity. My experience was wonderful. I started out with some sushi which was yummy, followed by Filet Mignon Teriyaki. Of course, I left room in my stomach for dessert which was worth the save. I will definitely return!

When we are away from home, always look on Trip Advisor for the "best sushi" in the area. We find we are always comparing other places to Hokka Hokka! The more sushi places we visit the more we treasure our visits to this place. It has come to the point where Birthdays, Mother's Day, Father's Day and any day are spent here. The sushi is fresh, with flavors that never disappoint. The Spicy Tuna is never too spicy, nothing is ever bland, but you can taste every ingredient in what ever you order...it is all so good. Sunday and Monday are BYOB. We visit with family or extended family and our first major discussion is "how many rolls??" Everything from simple Salmon Maki to any of the speciality rolls are delicious. The service is great, every one is friendly. We look forward to every visit and as I said, the more places we visit the more we appreciate Hokka Hokka!

We go here often and it's consistently good. Fresh sushi, good teriyaki, good quality appetizers, and special rolls. Green tea ice cream! To save a little green, lunch is a nice deal with bento boxes and sushi specials. Nicely designed atmosphere suitable for both families and dates, and perfect stop off while strolling in nearby Wissahickon on the Avenue.

Very attractive restaurant with a hip and lively crowd. The sushi was tasty although the servings were sparse for the price. The real problem was the 75 minutes we waited between the apps which were served promptly and the main course. Waitstaff seemed frenetic and unfazed by our frustration . Maybe just a bad night.

getting as good as osaka, which we love as well. nice to have 2 choices so close together. the quality of the fish and the presentation is great with service seen as a priority.

Ordered variety of sushi rolls and drinks. Sushi rolls were very tasty and not expensive. Drinks were expensive. Restaurant was full. They didn't have enough water glasses so we got handle-less tea mugs, which was okay. They didn't have enough forks either. Needed three forks but got one fork and two training chopsticks instead of forks and of course two regular chop sticks for party of five. Went there on Saturday eve. Parking very narrow. Have to back up to street to leave. There were three people lurking around who purposely came close to car being backed up. Fortunately had rear-view camera in car. So watch out!!!

Avoid this sushi restaurant in Chestnut Hill. I just came back from my second visit (I live in the neighborhood) to Hokka Hokka and it was more of the same. The restaurant is almost empty but the service was terrible! Our waiter (who doubled as the bar tender) barely paid attention to us and could not even take the time to process my credit card. And this is the second time it has happened! Forget about the quality of the food here - it does not matter when you have to wait for your food in an emply restaurant.

Really nice place, good ambience, excellent food and friendly service. The prices are ok, according with the quality of the food. I will definitely recommend this place.

I am such a sushi girl! I've had all types of sushi from all types of places and this is by far the best! I love their dragon roll and their spider roll. The sushi is so delicious and fresh. Try it! You won't be disappointed.

I am a fan of Japanese dishes and sushi/sashimi. I would say Hokka Hokka is the best Japanese restaurant in the surroundings including Flourtown, Plymouth Meeting, Norristown and others close by. Sushi rice is prepared to perfection with a right amount of wasabi. They have fission sushi like all the others which I am not a big fan of but traditional sushi are very good.

Food excellent in flavor and presentation. Good clean food. Just wish they bring back the bento boxes for brunch. Nam Myoho Renge Kyo !

This is a great place for breakfast and thank you for the gorgeous free slice of cake.loved it so much.definitely coming next time I’m in London.👍

a real gem in chestnut hill. the staff remembered us even though it was only our second time back! the food always works and the service is attentive. highly recommend.

I frequent Hokka Hokka because it is a wonderful, clean, affordable and delicious place to have sushi. The meals can be exotic if you want them to be, or plain and basic. Everything is reasonably priced (expect 20-30 dollars per person.) It's a great place, you should give it a try.

Osaka edges out Hokka Hokka by a nose but there are many, many reasons to enjoy this restaurant. The service is absolutely lovely. Friendly, accommodating, and welcoming to kids. The food is 1st rate. The sushi is fresh and tasty and the noodles are excellent. My daughter absolutely loves Hokka Hokka and they always seem pleased to see her. They also do a great job with large parties. The kitchen and the FOH teams can handle almost anything. There's nothing not to love about Hokka Hokka.

My daughter took me to this restaurant when I visited her. I don't eat sushi very often and only the cooked kind, but this restaurant was great. Nice atmosphere, great service and fresh food. I selected the California crab roll and loved it. My daughter tried some of the house special rolls and said they were excellent. Would definitely go there again.

Hokka Hokka is casual with fun happy hour vibe. We always get the sushi/sashimi love boat, $75 dish for three, which feeds whole table. Cucumber avocado and shrimp tempera very also tasty. Udon, soup noodlle dish, good for kids if they like pasta and don't like raw fish. Waiters always very professional and friendly. Great all around dinner restaurant.

Hokka Hokka is the better of the two sushi restaurants in Chestnut Hill. The service is good and friendly. The place is big enough that you can usually get a table, even on a busy night. The noise level is OK.

Although the service may be a bit slow at peak times, the wait staff is attentive. And the sushi is worth waiting for. Always impressed with the quality and taste of the sushi. Companions ordered adegashi tofu as one of the appetizers and didn't care for the ponzu sauce, but that aberration shouldn't unfairly detract from the overall high rating.

If you are in the Germantown/Chestnut Hill area, this is a great place to take the family for sushi. The service is good and reasonable price/wise.

Nice atmosphere. Easy parking. Good pomegranate martinis. Waitstaff was informative and friendly. Really delicious sushi. Prices were reasonable. Would recommend.
