This place is phenomenal.

You need to go. Do. Not. Delay. Everything--food, drinks, artsy decor, staff, light music--all exceptional. Hidden gem but not for long.

Pleasant Experience

We stumbled upon this place when we couldn't make it to the Tower of Americas in time for Happy Hour. Well, it sure worked out! Started out with the Goat Cheese, Spicy Piloncillo served with Flat Bread. It was outstanding! We also enjoyed the Charred Octopus with Paprika Garlic Oil, as well as the Honey Rum Glazed Pork Belly over Cous Cous. Absolutely wonderful! Great view of Tower of Americas too!

Amazingly good!

Hola far exceeded our expectations! Upon arriving, the wait staff was, at first, slow in presenting even menus so we thought we had made a mistake in patronizing this a little off the beaten path place. These fears were quickly squashed, however, when the waitress approached with what followed were the most delicious tapas we have ever been served! Thee waitress explained the talented Peruvian chef is relatively new to Hola. His dishes are simply divine, leaving us wanting more! The absolute best!!!

Tapas were excellent!

Great food and service in Southtown San Antonio. We had tapas and wine. Everything was good…wish I could have eaten more!

Why haven't I been here before???

Had dinner at Hola and really enjoyed it. The wine butter escargot was cooked perfectly and full of garlic. The charred cauliflower with parmesan mayo was the best I ever had. The Moroccan lamb stew had tender, lean lamb meat and the flavors of cumin, cinnamon, coriander were perfectly balanced. We sat at the bar and it was a little warm, but worth the show watching the Chef prepare the dishes. Can't wait to return.

Top Texan Tapas

We found this hidden gem and cannot wait to go back. It’s small but has 3 different areas and some Great Wall art. All the plates were good with the moorish lamb and the baked goats cheese exceptional. If you want a taste of Spain you won’t be disappointed.

Hidden Gem

An excellent tapas restaurant with friendly service. This is an easy 15 minute walk from Riverwalk and a welcome break from Tex Mex and Riverwalk chains. We enjoyed the lamb stew, carne skewers, shrimp, calamari, asparagus and beet salad. Good wine list also. This is truly a hidden gem.

Holà Tapas restaurant is a scam

This was THE worst dining experience I have had in a while. They had a New Year’s Eve special buffet, without a specified price on their website. As we get there, host tells us the price is 85$/person, which is expensive, but tolerable. After we sat down, the waiter told us we could go prepare our plates, brought us the wine card, and never came back… we were 6 customers in the restaurant. To our dismay, the food was cold… all of it. Cold mussels, cold steak, cold paella. Had it stopped there, I would’nt have taken the time to write a review. But to add insult to injury, they added a 25% « GRATUITY FEE », under pretense it was written on the menu, that contained NO PRICE. This whole thing cost 226$ for 2, no wine, cold food, and worst of all, no service. Ah, but there was « complimentary champagne », if we wanted to come back at midnight…

Great Tapas

This place recently opened. It has a great Tapas menu. We had the ceviche mix, the escargot, the lamb stew, and a couple of the vegetable dishes. Each dish was deeply flavorful. The service was very attentive. We also tried the sangria and beer on tap. There was a nice selection of beer. The atmosphere was great with colorful paintings. A great time.

A Spanish flair with a Peruvian chef. GREAT CUISINE.

Aren’t there more than 5 stars? These folks absolutely have it dialed in. I feel a little like I’m in Spain with their Tapas and wine. I wanted to try several things on the menu but I’m by my self. I opted for the Moorish Lamb Stew with Flat Bread. The spices - curry, a special Spanish sauce prepared by the owner, chilies that really add the zing I love. I had the Burrata & Pomodoro salad. Very nice wine list. Service was upbeat, friendly, and on top of things - excellent. I love this place. I’ll be back for sure. Highly recommended.

Tapas!

Excellent food, reasonably priced. Great sangria by the glass or pitcher. Small dining area around the bar for couples. There is a small side room with a couple of large tables. Lots of outdoor seating. Limited parking, but there is a pay parking lot across the street. Favorite dishes were the roasted cauliflower, escargot, and beet salad . Highly recommend!

Enjoyed the casual atmosphere with upbeat Latin background Were warmly welcomed by the chef Every tapas dish was flavorful and nicely prepared and presented. Our favorites (it was hard to choose) were the Baked Cheese, Moorish Lamb, Bay Scallops .

A small haven for amazing food!

You have to eat here!! We stopped in with 12 people and were treated to an amazing meal. This is a small restaurant but the food was delicious. The serving sizes were small and could be appetizers but we ordered the 5 baked cheeses (it’s a must try) the wings, empanadas and dessert (bread pudding, truffles, and tres leches) all were excellent!! We will define back! Staff was so kind and made our night so much fun!

We were looking for a place where we could get small dishes and my husband found Hola! online. It was perfect. We met the owner on our way there (she was out for a walk). Great selection of Tapas. Good Sangria.
