The food is always fresh and flavorful. I always look for healthy options and their salads are wonderful!

Margarita pizza is incredible, and so is the Greek salad. Great location to walk off the filling food.

Unfortunately I was with my wife however not even she could ruin the amazing service by Cullen and the others and the amazing pizza I had... Please come to the UK and replicate your vibes (we can't do pizza to save our lives over there) 5 stars!

Sat at the counter and watched staff make amazing pizza 🍕 one after the other . This place has food figured out! It was packed inside and outside. Reasonable prices for a must stop 🛑 tourist spot.

This place takes me back to my youth at the local pizza joint in my hometown of LA. The red leather booths, the checkered cloths, the pizza stands placed at the center of the table all harken is back to a simpler time. The pizza is good. The salad is too. It’s east coast soul food in the heart of Texas.

Great place to come get a slice of pizza. Good flavor and lots of options of pizza to choose from. I really like a place that gives you the option to order just a slice or two or you can get a whole pie

We all enjoyed our pizza from Home Slice. The service was friendly and quick, and the pizza was very good. I would definitely go back!

This is worth the wait. The line moves fast. Only $3.75 per slice. Outdoor seating. Great bottled sodas. Everything was good.

Fresh, quick & very tasty. Crispy crust. “More” home slice, Right location is for quick meal.. left is for sit down longer meal.

Excellent pizza. The crust was fantastic - nothing like we get it in europe. I was worried if the pizza would be drenched in cheese but it wasnt. It was perfect. Service was also good. Definitely recommended

Although the service was good the pizza was just ok, Definitely could be improved however was good for a quick bite to eat.

It is truly an incredible experience. Something so simple ( Bread, Tomatoes, Cheese ) and to get it right to perfection. What amazes me is the assembly like line to produce these masterpieces, How does HomeSlice does it. Making each pie with perfection and why do folks wrap around the corner waiting to have a slice of heaven. I asked the owner and she was tight lip. Just saying they have the tomatoe provider and know what to ask for. OMG !! Can I move in and live in paradise ???? What a wonderful slice of heaven. OK Enough said. Home Slice is a place to visit and enjoy coming from someone who will travel 50 miles for a good slice of pizza. All I can Say is GGGOOOOOOOO!

You walk in and the place smells of garlic, and that's a good thing! It was busy we had to wait a bit just to get seats at the bar; but it was worth the wait. The bartender was great, friendly and helpful. Good selection of local craft beer and the pizza.. the pizza is amazing NY style thin crispy crust deliciousness! If you love pizza like we do, check this place out when you are in Austin.

I love NY style, grew up in NY and its tge only type i like...this is true NY style. You cannot go wrong here

Delicious! Perfect pizza. Austin's iconic pizza place. A do not miss taste treat.Conveniently located on SoCo and always busy for good reason.

I was skeptical that Austin could have a place to compete with the best pizza in the country but it does—Home Slice. Get the #6, you won’t be disappointed! The calzone is also a great option.

There is NO Pizza that even comes close. We save up our “Pizza calories” for a trip to Home Slice. We like to go to the new location North Austin and go at an “off hour” so not to compete with the crowds. Caesar Salad is AMAZING and their hot rolls are to die for! BUT save room for pizza so I recommend sharing this! They chase Peroni on draft, which is my favorite beer! Simply the best!

I love NY style pizza, so this place was awesome! Just tried the pepperoni and it was good. Could not sit inside due to Covid-19.

I had been looking to try Home Slice for awhile. I had only heard good things about it. I ordered some garlic knots for my husband and myself to share. I had the Spinach, Roasted Red Peppers, Green Olives, Onions tried & true pizza. My husband had the meat calzone. The garlic knots were a bit tough to chew. They were just alright. We ended up only having about one each since they were tough to eat. The marinara sauce was really good though! My husband also liked his calzone. It definitely had a lot of cheese and meat in it! My pizza was just okay. It wasn't the best pizza I've had, but it definitely wasn't the worse either. The ingredients tasted very fresh, and I liked how they were able to not dry out the spinach like a lot of other pizza restaurants. There was a nice ratio of sauce to cheese as well. The crust was definitely the best thing about the pizza. It was even more tastier than the pizza itself! Home Slice Pizza is a place you have to eat at at least once in your life. Although it was alright, I'll probably try other pizza restaurants in Austin next time.

Yes, we took him too.☺️ This pizza is for anyone, even the dog. OMG!!! Finish it all. I will say make sure your device is charged. There is plenty of wait time, not as much room to wait,😅but it's part of the experience I believe. Who'd thought Home Slice is the right slice, cannot wait to try the next slice. The cookie with sea salt is also a nice try for something new. There are other items such as stromboli and whole pies as well, and staff are loudly pleasant, Enjoy!

Austin is my hometown and this place has always been solid. Almost as iconic as the natives. Seriously you gotta eat here it’s perfect even the inside is such a lovely vibe.

Pizza was very great, lots of cheese and mushrooms the way we love it. YUMMY There salads are great and enough for later to eat

We are from New Jersey and rarely eat pizza outside of our state, but Home Slice was amazing! It does taste like NY/NJ pizza - would definitely recommend.

Great pizza, as always, perfect father-son night out. Played a little ping pong while we waited, not long though

One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had! My eggplant pizza was delicious, can still taste it! Family friendly and great service.

Stopped here on a Saturday night (9pm) with a party of about 15 and the hostess was super friendly and organized 3 tables for us quickly. Food was incredible. Service even better. Everyone we encountered was super friendly. Would definitely return when in town. Great old school vibe. Keep up the good work.

Pizza is great any time of the day and it's even better after a night on the town. They restaurant closed at midnight so only the window is open. Huge slices of pizza available for $4 with the staples of pepperoni, cheese and margarita pizza readily available. They also have varying pizza toppings like spinach. Pizza is New York style and does the job. I'd love to come to this place when the restaurant is open.

So close to real NY pizza! My husband grew up in NYC and knows good pizza and we both agree this pizza was sooooo close to real NY pizza. It was delicious!!! The slices were foldable. The crust was crunchy. The cheese was good. Must visit spot. it gets super busy so great ready to stand and eat. We ended up finding some seats at the bar inside (hello AC) but they had more picnic tables outside. Such a fun spot with GREAT food!

We were driving from New Orleans and wanted to grab something to eat after 9pm. It was busy on a Wednesday night but we were seated right away. There was a mixed crowd not at all the drunk college scene like a previous reviewer had said. Lots of families with children, older folks, and college age. We ordered the eggplant pie because it is unique even though I was eye balling our neighbors pepperoni that looked delicious. The eggplant pie was fabulous! I haven’t had a slice of pizza this good in awhile. Server was nice and we took a tiramisu to go which was also great! Can’t go wrong with this place.

Really great food and reasonably priced. The pear and Gorgonzola salad was excellent and the slices are good as well. This is an excellent choice, the salads were unexpectedly good.

Home Slice Pizza on South Congress Avenue in Austin, TX, is a pizza lover's dream come true. With indoor and outdoor seating, you can enjoy their New York-style pizza in any setting. The build-your-own-pizza option allows you to get creative with fresh toppings and flavorful cheeses. Don't miss their mouthwatering meatball sub on a home-baked Italian sesame roll. And if you're a pizza enthusiast, their variety of pizza-inspired tees will catch your eye. Whether you're a local or a traveler passing through, this pizzeria paradise is a must-visit. Check out their website for hours and treat yourself to the best pizza in town.

Home Slice rocks. The pizza is one of my favorites. I really enjoy the atmosphere and the wait staff is great.I would take anyone here and expect the same quality every time.

Pizza is my jam and when I asked Liz, at the Visitor's Center, what is her favorite restaurant to bring out-of-towners to when they visit, she did not hesitate to say Home Slice Pizza. (I hope I'm not getting her in trouble.) Loving pizza as I do, I did not immediately take one person's recommendation but when it was suggested again, we made sure we ran by for a few slices. My only regret is that we didn't stop early in our short Austin visit, so we could go more than once. Really excellent. We did take out (covid-wary) and the guys working the line were very cool and friendly.

Oh my goodness, some of the best pizza I have ever eaten. Watching the guy hand tossed the pizza was quite the entertainment experience. You definitely want to stop by here and either get a slice of pizza or my whole pie for you and your friends and family.

We were in the mood for something simple and were told to try out Home Slice. We had a little wait for a table, though nothing too long, and then we were treated to some pretty good pizza. Service is friendly and helpful.

Came from Tennessee to taste best pizza in Texas. Was not disappointed. Just be prepared for strange looking people.

Truly the best!! Fun place and the best pizza I have ever had! Eat a pie, go listen to some music at the Continental a few doors down.

Home Slice Pizza has 2 locations in Austin. One on South Congress Ave downtown and one on North Loop Ave. in North Austin. Both restaurants have great pizza and calzones. Both places are creatively decorated, too. Love to sit and eat my pizza and look around to see what all is there. The North Loop location has great outdoor seating and a play area for the kids.

Wow this place is so yummy! We tried margherita and pepperoni pizzas and they were the best! Service was excellent thank you so much!!!!!

we got margherita which should come with dryied tomatoes & mozarella. you get regular tomatoes and the cheapest cheese imitation instead. avoid if you only can.

What a place !! It’s a must !! Lots of fun , great vibe , wonderful pizza . In the center of it all . Quick service and … just come

This was the perfect place to stop and have a quick lunch while walking around SoCo District. Pizza was amazing and sitting outside gave you a great feel of the area.

Large slices, great service, happy atmosphere! Our favorite is pepperoni and mushroom and spinach and mushroom.

In town for business but visiting my niece who lives here. I told her I was in the mood for pizza so she suggested here. Wow, the crust tastes so good and we all loved the pizza. Cold beers too.

Great Pizza in a fun friendly atmosphere. As good or better crust than New York or Downtown Philly. The sauce and crust make all the toppings extra delicious! I will always stop by when in Austin! Don't miss it!

Hands down the absolute best pizza I’ve ever had. The crust was awesome, the sauce on point, cheese was great and the toppings wonderful and enough. Great service too.

This place is an institution for a reason! Incredible food from calzones to subs to pizzas. You can order whole pizzas or by the slice. Very interesting combinations or old standards. You can call ahead to order to pick up or eat there.

If you wanna try the best pizza ever then you have to come to Home Slice. Hands down incredible. So thin, crisp and simply topped with masses of pepperoni. Beautiful!

This is very good place to grab a quick bite. You can buy pizza by the slice, we sat down. My food ratings below: Sausage, Ricotta and Red Peppers: 8.1/10

The pizza was very very good we really enjoyed it hot excellent. We had the pepperoni mushroom pizza very very good

Always a must and favorite. Great outside area to eat. The servers were wonderful and fun. The pizza is the best.

Great place fantastic pizza simple, if you ever have a break or trip to London and fancy some quick food you should go there

Quick Lunch here in Austin one hot afternoon. The slices are huge. Wonderful aroma pervades of course. The margherita pizza was excellent. Kind refills on our soft drinks. Busy and crowded, but that just added to the atmosphere. Plenty of outdoor seating, as well. Fun and delicious place.

Visited in November 2019 and enjoyed an excellent pizza. Two of us shared a large Pepperoni and Mushroom and it was one of the best pizzas I've had outside of Italy. Warning: a large pizza is more than enough for two! Service was efficient. Chianti was a tad expensive. We arrived just in time. The place suddenly filled up around 5.30 pm. Highly recommended.

The pizza was great! Lives up to the hype, fresh, deliciousness, and the ranch went perfect with it. 10/10 recommend.

Perfect simple pizza slices and drinks. No frills and friendly service. My wife won’t let me go twice today but We will be back for sure!

This was our second visit. The food was great the first time, but was not quite as delicious this time. The service: Outstanding Atmosphere: quirky cool Beer: not a huge menu, but selections are very good

This style of pizza are great tasting. This is a local hot spot. There are pizzas being order and pick up at a crazy amount.

Homeslice came highly recommended, but I found it to be overpriced and mediocre. Pizza is my all-time favorite food, so I consider myself to be a bit of an expert in the field of marinana, mozzarella, and crust. Homeslice is all hype. First, parking is a mess. It's impossible to find a spot in the restaurant's lot, and you have to park way far away in an adjacent neighborhood. It only costs $2 to park, but still a pain. The line for a slice was crazy, but we got in it. They moved the line quickly. Since it was our first time and we wanted to sample several things, we ordered a slice of pepperoni, a slice of cheese, and a small Italian sub. After jockeying for position, we finally got a place to sit after waiting almost 15 minutes. They have seating on an outdoor patio, which has to be unpleasant on hot, humid days. It took a long time to get our order, and we waited nearly 30 minutes after ordering. An employee came out and screamed out name, and we had our noms. Even at first glance, the pizza slices looked disappointing. Not only were they small, but they were clearly lacking enough cheese. So many bites had no cheese at all! Pizza needs plenty of cheese, people! The sauce and crust had absolutely no flavor. It needed some garlic, salt, oregano, something, ANYTHING! The pepperoni was particularly gross. It tasted like a wet dog smells. Barf. It went unfinished. The Italian sub looked good, but was mediocre. The only thing it had going for it was the toasted bread. Other than that, you can get far better sandwiches just about anywhere except Subway. For how pricey this place was, I can't believe the high reviews and ratings. Maybe Austin locals aren't picky about their pizza, but I would never come back to eat here. Ya'll are crazy to think this is a good restaurant.

This place has their operation almost fine tuned to perfection. We were directed to the take out window and pizza by the slice was delicious and reasonably priced- it did take a few minutes - about 10- to come out despite there not being much of a line ahead of me when I ordered. Regardless, it was really good.

This is my go to place to go eat pizza! Honestly! Quick and easy ordering and the pizza is absolutely delicious!! The lines aren't bad at all either! I love going here for lunch!

This place had the best NY pizza I’ve had in a while since I don’t live close to NYC anymore. If you want that authentic thin crust with the crunch, this place is where you get it!

Came here for dinner and enjoyed two slices of Pepperoni. Dining solo, this was ample. An entire small pizza would have been way too much. I did have a Caesar salad to start and it was ok. I felt like trying dessert and the Cheesecake was recommended. It comes naked and its homemade. The naked part killed it. Extremely dry. Either strawberry or raspberry drizzle was desperately needed. My server Jacob A. was good on all parts but the cheesecake recommendation! Its not a must visit, but I recommend Home Slice if in the area.

Stopped in for a quick bite; garlic knots and spinach ricotta pizza were delish. Service with a smile, nice visit!

Very good thin crust pizza and good service too! Sat outside and with shade and fans we were still comfortable despite Hot temps! It’s very popular, we got there around 11:15 and sat immediately. Within 10 mins there was a long line.

Really disappointed with this place :( It had really great reviews so we thought we'd try it. After pouring over reviews after this experience, it seems that this is a pattern that they haven’t been able to shake. Wish I had read all the reviews. We walk in and the hostess was busy doing something, not sure what as she would look up or greet us, so we waited, 5 minutes go by and nothing, so I said hello, and the hostess looked up and just said "yeah?". :( So we asked for a table for two. She directed us to a spot at the counter that hadn't been cleaned yet, and said that someone would clean it. No one ever came to clean it. I tried to grab the attention of staff walking by and at the counter and was ignored. I was at the counter for 15 minutes before I saw someone else walk up to the counter a couple seats down and receive immediate service. That's when we decided it was time to go. We thought about asking to talk to a manager, but our thought was if this seemed to be the attitude of the staff we interacted with as a whole, the manager would probably just tell us to leave if we didnt like it. After reading through the reviews, it seems i was right, there are a good handful of reviews reporting being treated rudely by a manager after bringing issues to their attention. :( As we were quietly talking to ourselves about leaving, I heard a staff member say " good, leave". That sealed the deal for me. My recommendation, pass this spot for somewhere else.

Took a break from BBQ and tacos at Homeslice. We were really pleasantly surprised at the quality of the pizza! Wonderful all around experience

Delicious New York style pizza! Great service, yummy salad, tasty wine — can’t ask for more! Will definitely come visit again and bring the rest of my family.

Every time I visit Austin I make sure to plan a stop at Home Slice. There will probably be a wait when you go - just wait, you won't regret it. Everything from the salads to the appetizers to the pizza. You can't go wrong here. Even Dave Portnoy would rate this over an 8 - so so delicious!

Everyone is super friendly @ Home Slice. The Margherita Pizza is really tasty. I was super excited to try the Clam Pizza, can’t always find that, but it wasn’t like the original in New Haven...not bad but just meh...wouldn’t order it again. Keep in mind, your are in Austin & parking could be an issue.

Loved this place. Pizza was great! Good customer service from all. Would definitely go back again and again!

One of our kids picked this place for dinner our first night in Austin and it was a great pick. Service was friendly, both pizzas we tried were filling and yummy! Would definitely recommend. Also loved that we were able to do half/half pizzas with the specialty ones.

Given the reviews, a visit was a must but I was left very underwhelmed by the calzone which was just really average - not enough sauce, mean on filling. Disappointing!

We were here last time we visited Austin. I wanted to go back for pizza. It is similar to NY pizza, which is my go to kind of pizza. Was a long line & wait, but worth it. Prices are ok. People there are nice & look like they enjoy working there.

We popped in to look and the host explained that there would be a lineup if we came back after five and besides “if you cone back before five I’ll still be here so you get to see me again.” Perfectly delivered -neither arrogant nor inappropriate- just fun and funny. It worked and when we returned a colleague was about to put us on the back patio (it was getting a little cool) she came running up and told her co-worker “I got this” and within seconds she had cleaned up a booth. It was more crowded after five not no lineup. If this is her “routine” I might be even more impressed. As for the food we went simple with pepperoni and mushroom- one word - fantastic! When they asked if we wanted our pizza boxed we said we’d rather it wrapped in foil for easy carrying. No problem.

The pizza place is definitely a classic has the original look to it and the pizza was really good it was thin.

We ordered take out and it arrived hot and delicious. We also ordered the house salad and the anti-Pasto salad and they were both delicious.

After my trip to NY in April, I have to say this was the best pizza I had in Austin that is also the closest to the NY style pizza which I love. The calzones are good too.

Awesome pizza! They are very well organized for the pickup process. No contact is very smooth and well planned. Pizza is delicious.

Loved being able to walk up and grab a slice that was even more delicious than it was quick. I will definitely recommend and be back!

Wow margarita and a slice of meatball…fresh, fast, hot and yum. Always a long wait so we seized opportunity and grabbed it .they pour a whole line of gourmet soft drinks and they have misters…for the heat w picnic tables and umbrellas . Score . Delish!

Pretty good pizza (not sure what the pizza scene is like in Texas). They have big, foldable slices, NY-style. You can get them by the slice, or order whole pizzas, plus a bunch of other menu items. Pizza was pretty good, but the garlic knots were a little bland.

The pizza was fine. I had hoped for pizza with more toppings; especially veggies like mushrooms, bell peppers, artichoke hearts, etc. They were very limited on the by-the-slice offerings. I opted for the Margarita. I expected the traditional fresh mozzarella, very thinly sliced tomato & fresh basil. What I got was a regular mozzarella cheese pizza, no tomato slices, and I didn't see or taste any fresh basil? The crust and the sauce were good, so those are why I rated it a 3. I was not at all blown away by this pizza. My daughter got pepperoni; no choice of bell peppers & olives or mushrooms with pepperoni either : (

Exceptional slices of pizza. Reasonably priced and a fun environment. A lot of action on the street while we enjoyed our slices.

At a show down street we walked over to home slice Very good pizza , new York style Will definitely stop back in for more

Love the pepperoni and mushroom. Have a shaded spot out back with a bar where you can wait if they are busy.

We had heard Home Slice was a must try on our trip to Austin. It did not disappoint. We opted to grab a few slices of their New York style pepperoni pizza. It’s was warm, the pepperonis were just perfect and the crispness of the crust was perfection. The added delight of an ice cold bottled coke was a refreshing relief on a warm October day. Enjoyed the patio table view of the sights and sounds of South Congress.

People talk about the pizza but what's being left out is the true star of Home Slice's menu. Anyone who knows a good Italian Meat sandwich will find Home Slice's Italian Meats sandwich the true star. I work a couple blocks from Home Slice and I've had a variety of meals from Home Slice but the one I'm always craving is their Italian Meats. Guy Fieri from DDD even commented on this being one of the best Italian Meats sandwich. They layer up the meats, cheese and thin sliced lettuce with a good vinaigrette dressing, prepare to drool! Yes, their pizzas are great but the crust is awesome, meatball sandwich is delish and the Italian Meat Sandwich is to die for..

Very good foldable NY slices. The crust was crispy but light. I really enjoyed the sausage and garlic slice. Garlic knots were decent but wish they were more garlicky. Marianna sauce was sweet and chunky. Definitely a good pizza place and love that they do slices.

Wow! This is a great place to grab a quick bite. Low prices, great quality. Its nice to find New York style pizza that REALLY tastes like pizza you'd find in New York. BE WARNED: This place is swamped with people. CrAzY busy, which also makes it pretty noisy, but the service is still very fast and the food is still very good. Its in a very busy area of town, so parking can be an issue but i was able to park within short walking distance.

Tried home slice on Congress Ave. and it was amazing. I had the special slice Margherita Pizza. The crust was perfect and the tomato to garlic to basil ratio was absolutely perfect. Hands down the best Margherita Pizza I have ever had. Also great friendly service.

Pizza is awesome, great balance of sauce, cheese and toppings. If visiting is recommend to visit the restaurant on Congress ave as they have other shops and venues to visit. Would definitely come again!

(This review for more home slice) Showed up for lunch with group of friends. Waiting period was a little long, but took the chance and was NOT disappointed. Huge slices of pizza that were amazing. Even went out on a limb and ordered their cannoli. Very different type of cannoli that was also amazing More home slice is directly next to home slice

My daughter keeps dragging me to this place, but I’m not impressed. Like most of South Congress, they don’t have enough parking of their own, so you’re forced to park on the street with this new wave angled back in parking that I hate. The food is good, but rather yuppie and way over-priced. The tab for 5 adults and 2 children was $125 plus tip for a salad, 2 pizzas, 2 kids meals a calzone and 5 beers. I’m probably not going back without a protest.

Excellent service, nice atmosphere (tough noisy). Pizza is awesome. Marinara and ranch dip's made the day. Try this!

This is a popular spot on Congress to grab a bite to eat while visiting the many shops. It has limited seating and is usually packed. The pizza is good with friendly service. Food is reasonably priced.

More like Home Slice of Heaven. OMG, I'm a New Yorker and this pizza was amazing. I had a traditional pepperoni slice, my wife had a white margherita slice and my son had garlic knots with a side of salami slices. Everything was delicious. Our waitress, Myra, was super awesome as well. She brought my son a dough ball...lol. He had a blast with it and so did I. I would 100% come back here.

We bought two slices of pizza and a cold drink. We got the order within five minutes. The pizza was fresh, crust thin and chewy. The staff are busy yet friendly. The price is not cheap but the quality is high.

Group of friends went for dine-in. Had the white pizza and pepperoni along with a salad. Pizza was absolutely great! Cool vibe and great staff. 10/10 would go back.

I’ve had amazing pizza. This is mediocre at best. Crust is not New York. Just oven toasted. It’s packed for sure. But it’s mainly drunk college kids. It’s just good drunk food. Drunk pizza. Won’t wow you. And expensive. 2 large pies were 60 bucks. Sad TripAdvisor awards it #1 pizza in Austin. total blue sky. There were some other pizza joints I wish I had committed to driving the distance. Wood fire ovens. Hopefully this review saves someone money.

This place was yummy! The pizza crust was delicious! I had one slice of cheese pizza and one slice of pepperoni. Both were great! My husband enjoyed his pepperoni pizza also. The vibe is great! It is a quick, easy and inexpensive place to get a meal. It is outside dining. The pizza came quickly. I loved that they also had ice cold water and cups available for free.

We ended up here after a conference in the evening so I didn't get to see the outside decor very much but this place was pretty quirky. I like it. I'll be honest and say the pizza was really good but what stole the show were the wings; crispy but not burnt and flavorful. Awesome!

Rated 4th best pizza join in the US, but it's number one as far as I'm concerned. My absolute favorite, decadant Austin classic. Do yourself a favor and pair the garlic and sausage slice with a lone star beer.

Fun local experience. Great tasting pizza, huge slices, good prices. Nice overall place and I would highly recommend if you like pizza to check it out. I was told but a local hotel to check it out and I am glad I did!

Being a pizza connoisseur I would say that this place is a must for those in the area. It has great service, the slices are well portioned and fresh ingredients. It can get extremely busy and packed at times so plan accordingly!

My granddaughter (age 13) and I were in Austin for our annual girls' trip. A friend suggested we stop by and partake of a pizza at Home Slice. We did just that and it was delicious! Nothing beats authentic New York pizza - I know because I grew up there. It's world famous for a very good reason. That being said, the thin crust pie we ordered was fresh, hot and wonderful! The little place was hopping - definitely busy and crowded (it's a very small venue). We decided to take our pizza to go and ate it in the car with the A/C blasting in our faces. We truly enjoyed it! Would recommend if you're in the area - wouldn't necessarily make a special trip. Would go back if in S. Congress.

Easily the best pizza in Austin. We love the thin crisp crust and fresh quality toppings. Currently only curbside, but extremely well organized.

We got very curious when we walked by Home Slice Pizza one Saturday afternoon and there is a long line. There are hundreds of pizza places in Austin and why would people wait in line. Actually, there is just one half a mile down the road with no crowd. We finally gave it a try. It will really take you back to NY with your first bite. Austin is known for innovative restaurants but Home Slice Pizza does not tinker with a perfect NY pizza.

I’m new to town I’m embarrassed that it took me 4 weeks to eat here. Emily at the bar was great, the Italian sub outstanding, the pepp slice perfect, service was spot on! Can’t wait to go back!

Really outstanding pizza. Friendly service and great atmosphere. Came highly recommended from friends who live in Austin and it did not disappoint!!

It’s always so good. This is a must when we come to Austin. We love the outside seating area. Pizza is wonderful with a perfect crust. The slices are very large. This time some of our party got sandwich’s and calzone and we’re not disappointed. Staff was great. The knots are pretty good also while you wait. It’s a must go place.

Amazing crust, flavor, fresh veg on our Margherita pizza today. It was heaven. Great attentive service by Gabbi. It’s fun to sit at bar bc you get to see everything being made salads, subs, roll, pizza. It’s like a “Chef’s Table”!

This pizza is amazing! If you like thin (a little greasy, not extremely) NY style then you will love this pizza! It was on our list of must does while visiting Austin because of numerous recommendations and it did not disappoint. We had it delivered to our hotel and it was the highlight of the evening. Try the sausage, red peppers and ricotta pizza it’s to die for!!!

I had read TA reviews and wanted to check this place out. Fortunately we found ourselves nearby at the Lucy in Disguise costume shop. We were seated out back on the dog friendly patio.(Though our dog was not with us) Very neat atmosphere inside and out. Servers were friendly. We ordered a half and half pizza and it was excellent! Too much for us to eat so took some back to the hotel. Had a good beer also. Laid back, like the rest of Austin which we loved. Highly recommend!

Great pizza! Needed a quick bite to eat while out and about and so glad we stopped for a slice. Really delicious pizza. Highly recommend.

If you love large, perfectly thin and crispy slices of pizza - go here! We wanted to eat inside, but the wait was over an hour on a Sat. night so we ate in the outside area. The pizza was ready at the to-go window very quickly and we enjoyed sitting outside in the shade.

Was looking for somewhere to have a quick bite and had a really good time in this restaurant. We visited the "fast-food" location, not the full service one. Getting a seat was tricky, but after a short wait we got to enjoy the delicious pizza! Would highly recommend.

We had a takeout thin crust veggie pizza that was delicious. Easy to order, friendly service, quick preparation.

A friend recommended Home Slice Pizza and I'm glad we tried. The pizza was really good. They were really busy, but we ordered online and our ordered was ready when we showed up.

First time here was recommended by family members that live here in Texas they said it was closest to New Jersey pizza! Well they were right pizza was delicious we had margarita pizza and a plain both were very tasty! It was cold out and we did sit outside by the heat source they had for customers . Definitely will come again next time in Austin..

We were told not to skip Home Slice. We were short on time so we went in and sat at the bar to have a slice. Delicious!

Excellent pizza with a thin, crispy crust. We sat at the bar and watched them expertly toss pizza dough. The pie was covered in toppings. Will definitely go back!

then come here! While visiting Austin for the first time we decided to grab dinner here one evening. The pizza was delicious and the ingredients were really fresh. I recommend!

We came during covid and it was a little hard to find a good pizza spot. This place was a great spot. We got the number 6 and it was huge. I would come back again. Had a double vodka soda as well.

This place is so unique and fun you just want to hang out and order again! Started at the bar in front with red beers and made it to the back patio bar while waiting for a table to open on Sunday at noonish. Super friendly bartender got us some Knots and

Our last evening dinner in Austin was great at Home Slice. Friendly staff and delish food. We shared a pie and a bottle of wine. The best thing is the crust, which is thin but not wimpy. The dough ring edges were perfectly chewy.

Really nice place. Love the culture and amazing food! Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Austin!

Vintage storefront on Austin's best shopping street. Attentive waiter who advises on the giant size of the pizzas. EXCELLENT pizzas. Go there with your eyes closed.

Great NY Style Pizza On South Congress. You Can Get Pizza by the Slice and the Staff are Friendly. It does get busy in the afternoons however they have an additional Space Next door for those wishing to Take Out or just get a Quick Slice to Go. Overall Great Pizza and Atmosphere.

The pizza was OK. I am a pizza connoisseur so it must be very special for me to give it very good or great; I'd say the pizza was closer to average but the chocolate chip cookie was so good we went back a couple of times to pick one up before leaving. I'd be willing to try it again, though. It was super busy and I might have just gotten a production slice.

Was in Austin for a convention and was looking for something that wasn't either tex-mex or BBQ for a quick and easy bite of lunch. Found Home Slice on TripAdvisor and saw the stellar reviews for the place. It doesn't disappoint. While I am only giving it four out of five, the atmosphere was great and very Austin-esque. I loved the decor and the overall experience was great. The pizza was a little more on the greasy side than my preference and that is my only gripe. The portions were good and the Ceasar salad was great, especially for the price. Would absolutely eat here again.

The pizza was pretty good but it is not as good as pizza we have in Western New York. Buffalo NY has some of the highest rating pizzerias in the US.

They have apparently expanded operations. Can eat dinner inside in one building or go next door and order (or pick up an order) at an outdoor stand. Pretty good pizza - a little pricey - one large/one medium carryout and 2 beers for $60! I can see parking being a bit of an issue.....

This is THE pizza place I go all the time. Love the variety of the toppings, everything tastes so good. Lovely backyard seats perfectly fit for warmer days. It is also a very kid friendly place: we had a 4 year old with us last time we were there, it was at the end of a day trip and he was tired and cranky while waiting for the food. The waiter brought him a little piece of pizza dough to play with -- completely turned the table around. Of course the pies concluded the night on a delicious and happy note.

G’daughter’s fave place to eat. We celebrated her birthday. They give dough to kids to occupy them while waiting for their food. Busy place. Prices good

The pizza was great as always. The sauce and cheese have good flavors, and they have absolutely perfect crust. The medium pizzas are pretty large, so also a good value. But, they don't do reservations and waiting 45-90 minutes every single time gets tiring.

I did not personally eat the pizza since they did not have any gluten-free crust , but others in my group raved over this. I had a Greek salad that was surprisingly fresh and tasty given that this is a pizza place. Even though they were swamped, the food came out quickly.

Great NYC style pizza!! Smelled it cooking on South Congress and glad we stopped in and bought a few slices.

Great food and great service. The calzone and pepperoni along with the Lone star beer. Would go back in a fast second.

It was a chill environment with nice and helpful waiters. The food was even better. I recommend the margarita pizza it was a 10/10.

My wife was the victim of sexist and racist abuse by Kevin who works at the South Congress branch, belittled, bullied, and mistreated. Been going to Home Slice for 5 years, we were loyal customers, bringing family and friends, and always recommending to Austin visitors as a good spot for pizza. But obviously can never return after the abuse my wife received. Disgraceful.

Listen: Home Slice has the NYC recipe NAILED! If you've ever had NYC and even NJ Boardwalk pizza, you'll LOVE THIS PIE! They've got the magic recipe and it shows with every bite. I was in Austin for a week and ate here 3 different times! My choice is the simple cheese/plain (LARGE) pizza and it's worth every penny! DEELICIOUS!! This is worth bringing folks back to see their faces! Perfect consistency and pleasant staff as well! Brian at the bar was great. Try the lemonade, it's freshly made every day!

I came with some co-workers while attending a convention. Quick Uber ride from the convention center. It brought me back to my New England roots! A few people had the calzones and RAVED about them, others had slices of pizza and LOVED it, and I had the eggplant parm sub... because this is something I rarely see on the menu and just had to have it. SO good. The service was fast, and we were there a few minutes before the lunch rush, it was perfect. I will remember this place for the next time I'm in Austin when I need a break from tacos!!

We first visited home slice 2 years ago. Returned again tonight and had a fantastic experience. It was quiet and were seated by the staff immediately. The waitress was fantastic with our toddler son, bringing him some pizza dough to play with. Special shout out to the lemonade which was refreshing and tasty. The pizza was fantastic, piping hot and fresh. Tasted really great. Have eaten pizza all over the world and this is better NYC style pizza than NYC. Id go as far as to say its in my top 5 pizza places in the entire planet. The staff made eating out with a toddler not feel like we were getting in anyone’s way and nothing was too much for them. We’ve had a couple bad experiences eating out in the states with a baby and this just restored our faith. Wonderful food, lovely people, please visit this place!

Visited this location on Labor Day and it was very busy with a 45 minute wait especially for 7 people (5 adults and 2 children). We were able to sit outside on patio and have a pitcher of beer while we waited. Actually seated in about 30 minutes. Pramood was our bartender and served us quickly and gave us a sample to try. Very knowledgeable about beer on draft. Once seated, we ordered two large pizzas (very good size) and a whole assorted Italian sub. Pizza was very good and the Italian sub was unbelievable. Sub was huge so we shared it (everyone tried a little) but like the menu say don’t mess with the ingredients since it was perfect. Everyone loved the pizza and raved about the Italian sub. Food server was Robert and he did an excellent job getting food out quickly and keeping drinks full especially getting beer pitcher refilled quickly. First time visit for 6 out of 7 of us but everyone can’t wait to go back. Need to try the meatball sub next time. Definitely worth giving this place a try, good food and service but plan ahead since parking in the area can be tough, not impossible, to find on busy days. May have to circle a couple of times but you will find a spot.

He went to a really great pizza place for dinner tonight. The place was hopping. The service was great. The food was absolutely delicious on vacation with my family. Would definitely come back again.

Had lunch here. Sat at the bar, because the tables were all taken, but actually liked this, because now we got to watch the people who make all the pizza. They really know what they're doing :) The pizza was good, staff friendly. Didn't stay too long, but I would recommend this place as a pitstop while shopping on S Congress.

I did my research on "best pizza in Austin," and this place came up with very high ratings, so we decided we had to check it out. There was a short wait for dinner, but worth it! The inside is a quaint little diner that you would picture in NY or Italy. Very fun for a date night, big party, kids, etc. Super friendly staff too! Even though it was busy, they were prompt, polite, and answered all our questions. My husband has tried a lot of the "best" pizza joints (including Chicago, NY, Italy, etc) and he said this was by far the best pizza he has ever had! He wanted to go back 1 more time before we left, but we ran out of time!

This is New York style pizza and we love it. In fact, we ate here 3 times during our 4 day trip. It was very close to our Airbnb. We enjoyed all their pizzas but the white with spinach was my fav. Highly recommend their Gorgonzola, pear, walnut salad. I loved it so much I couldn’t bring myself to try one of the other salads. There is an eat-in restaurant and a by the slice outlet next door with picnic tables outside. That is where we went bc they are open 7 days a week and have very late hours. You can grab your favorite brew here too.

I had heard only great things about the pizza here, and my son and I are pizza lovers. We tried the garlic knots for an appetizer and they were ok, but not very garlicky or special in any way from my standpoint. The pizza itslef has a thin crust, but ours was burned. Also the bottom of the crust was grainy. Neither I or my son liked the pizza, and the crust was one of our least favorites we have had. A plus is that the place itself has an Austin atmosphere in a cute part of town. We had tried this as carry out one other time a couple of years ago and were not impressed but had decided we would give it another try.

Loved the cheese pizza,. thin crust like pizza is meant to be. the atmosphere was very relaxed, sat at the bar and had excellent service .

The best pizza in Austin! Homeslice delivers thin crust New York style pizza that is to die for. Whenever I’m in the area I stop in for a Margherita Pizza and their house salad. Their garlic knots are yummy too. Add this to your list because you don’t want to miss it.

Good big slices of pizza. Price was reasonable. Limited seating inside, but plenty of picnic tables with umbrellas outside. Good place to get a quick bite to eat.

Very popular local pizza joint. Limited seating and parking. Great pizza, sold by the slice or whole pie. If you want a slice to eat while you walk SoCo then go next door to their walk up window. Good service.

This quaint pizza place has such an Austin vibe. Service was friendly and fast. Beer & delicious pizza made a great night

As close to NY pizza as you can find in Austin! Always delivers the zest! You can grab a slice to go or sit down in the restaurant or outdoor seating and people watch on the hip South Congress promenade. And the tram is always giving back to the community so you can enjoy the murals that showcase causes and artists that inspire!

This is the best pizza hands down. It is tasty, terrific and great everytime. It is my wife's favorite pizza place. The staff really hustles. Take out and walk up is the name if the game.

I go for the pizza, and the subs are amazing too, the Italian unbelievable, the meatball killer, the service just as good.

Shared a large pepperoni & other things pizza between four of us. Easily fed us all. Wonderful flavors from this "thin crust" pizza. Eat it like the New Yorker's do... fold it in half from the crust and dive in. Enjoyed a good bottle of wine while taking in the atmosphere of a "college pizza joint". It's not near a college but it reminded me of so many I've visited over the years. You can sit at the bar and watch the chefs spin the homemade crusts and decorate them with all manner of delicious toppings. The options are as many as your imagination can conjure.

Food was just like we remembered . Fast and very yummy. We got snakes( garlic knots) and pepperoni slices. Love the crust. Can’t wait to go back

Now that I live here in austin i have found my new place to eat. This pizza look out man cause you will need to save money so you can satisfy your cravings. You will think nothing but this pizza i love it here and when you eat here you will too!

My husband and I were in Austin for a few days and after trying this pizza for lunch actually came another day to have it again. It was that good. Huge slices of crispy chewy goodness. The lines move fairly quickly and the atmosphere was fun.

New York inspired pizza, but not even close…Apparently this place is Austin’s best NY pizza but it’s just not. Pizza is thin crust but lacks sauce, lacks taste and does not represent NY. Pizza in New York is next level and I knew Home Slice would not reach that level but I did not expect it to be this mediocre.

It has to be great, there is always a long. You will have a wait when you go there. They also sell pizza by the slice
It’s great
Great pizza! Fun atmosphere dot you can order it by the slice crust is very good. The salad is also very good. Highly recommend!
