It's rare for me to eat out because I have dangerous allergies, especially to chemical preservatives and gluten, so I always carry my own food. But I'd heard that Austin is different, so when we visited there I did a search for organic restaurants. We decided to try Honest Mary's. We're so impressed! The servers are knowledgable and helpful, and the food is fresh, beautifully prepared, and delicious. We loved our meals, and I didn't have to eat any of the food that I'd carried from home. We will definitely choose Honest Mary's the next time we visit Austin.

Honest Mary's is a new type of restaurant. You go through a line like many other places (think Chipotle) but the food is anything but what you get in those other assembly lines. The ahi tuna salad was wonderful—worth considering. And other food can be with meat or in vegan or vegetarian style. Looking forward to going back soon and try some other dishes.

This was the best dining experience me and my family had during our trip to Austin. With a vegan and a celiac, finding a restaurant that can accommodate us can be a challenge. The flavours, presentation and service were all top notch. Even my tough to please 12 year old loved it!

It was ok. I got a tofu bowl. The tofu taste a little dry but it was ok. I added spinach, lentils, avocado, brussel sprouts and more. I got the lemon ginger sauce which was delish. They were out of a few things I would have gotten but it was 15 min before closing. I would definitely stop at this location again the future.

I visited after a conference at a local hotel. I had the smoky poblano bowl with chicken. The bowls are big! I enjoyed all of the flavors and textures, from the creamy avocado to the crisp spinach and crunchy marinated onions. The atmosphere is clean and light. I also enjoyed the ginger lemonade. Which I found tart with a bite from the ginger. The workers are nice and helpful. Overall I enjoyed the restaurant!

This is Chipotle, meets local, meets Buddha Bowls. Amazing. I took a coworker with me who doesn't usually eat like that and she loved it. We both got the sondbird bowl, she added sweet potatoes and I added tofu. The tofu was amazing and the whole bowl was delicious. It was fresh and full of flavor. It was busy at noon but they are quick. Absolutely worth it!

This was a great little build your own bowl style place with farm to table ingredients and ingredients like black beans, quinoa, sweet potato, nuts, seeds, and meat proteins. You can pick a size and build it as you go or pick a pre designed bowl from the menu. I always just ask what a popular one is and go with it. They ll looked great and it was a nice, clean place with plenty of sitting. Great for a quick lunch or dinner.

Great variety of veggies (and meat/chicken/tuna if necessary) in bowls. Service is nice as employees care. Food consistently good. Line is slow although only as a result of slow decision makers or first-timers. Nice tables inside and particularly enjoy sitting at any of the half dozen outdoor tables as no direct sunlight so merely pleasantly warm.

My first time in Austin, and in the Arboretum area. I was looking for dinner with plenty of vegetables and prepared simply and tasty. I found it. I have referred friends to Honest Mary’s and would return.

This restaurant was close to our hotel. Wonderful plant based meal, though they do offer meat. This is a build your own bowl as you go down the line...a couple items of this area and a couple items from that area. All yummy choices. So nice to find a plant based restaurant when traveling!

My wife and I wanted to try something different and Honest Mary’s was our choice. This is a ‘build your own bowl’ style with farm to market ingredients kind of place. They list farmers and producers on the wall. You can choose between one of their signature bowls or build your own custom bowl. We went with the custom route. To build your custom bowl you choose a protein, a base, two sides, two toppings and a sauce. If you added another side or a couple of toppings the bowl could easily feed two people. Several items we found ‘interesting’. First they do not take CASH. They have a small ‘no cash’ sign at the register. We didn’t find any salt or pepper. There isn’t any sugar available either but this fits the healthy concept. We could all cut down on the processed sugar. :) Overall this is very good food at a fair price in a casual setting. We will eat at Honest Mary’s again.

The bowls were very fresh and there were so many options. They had specialty bowls or you could build your own. This place is healthy!

Every meal we get here leaves me feeling incredible. Perfectly balanced meals, delicious, and particularly divine after a day of exercise.

This was my first visit to Honest Mary's. I love the concept and the food is good, but it's a bit overpriced and they only accept cards for payment. I order a Build Your Own Bowl with steak, spinach, sweet potatoes, summer squash, avocado, pumpkin seeds, and spicy peanut sauce. The portions are pretty decent, the food is fresh and delicious. If you ask for a bit more spinach you get three leaves and are threatened with an additional fee. Most places this is reserved for the proteins, not greens which are cheap. The service was fast and mostly friendly. They say they have aqua fresca but it was a selection of 3 types of tasty fountain drinks. It was very busy at lunch but we were still able to find a place to sit. They have indoor and outdoor seating.

I am NOT a foodie, and this is not the type of place I'd normally go to. However, my wife IS and this place was right up her alley--she LOVED it! I had steak in a bowl of rice with carrots & mushrooms--while she had god knows what. They even have organic wine. The restaurant is very green, all bowls are disposable and compostable, and cash is NOT accepted. Plenty of parking.

This is a very hip new concept in Austin (of course!). And I love it. It comes under the concept of fast-casual eating. You go down a line and create your own fresh, warm grain bowl with a protein (roast chicken, steak, etc) and then add fresh organic fruits, vegetables, and sauces. The mixture of tastes and textures is terrific. And I had enough to also take some home for lunch the next day. Staff is very friendly and guide you through the process. The interior is sleek and modern. They also have outdoor seating. It is conveniently located in the Arboretum in NW Austin in an upscale strip center with plenty of parking. It has only been open about a month but already they are gaining a following by word-of-mouth. This is not a chain, but the product of a young local food visionary who named the restaurant after his wife. A nice story to go with a great concept and fresh food. I highly recommend it.

Ordering online was easy. Picking up the food and heading to a park to eat. Delicious mix of healthy items. Everything was fresh and we would definitly eat here again. I think we got the Sedona Lime and added steak. Super place for healthy options.

I've been here a couple of times with my daughter who is vegan. The bowls they offer are great you can choose vegan or add chicken, steak or poke. The food is fresh and delicious.

Loved the variety of options of true, real FRESH food! Appreciated that I could order from a suggested menu or create my own. Loved the cashew lime crema sauce which was on the side. If I lived in Austin, this would be a regular stop! Can’t wait to visit and eat here again! More restaurants need to offer fresh healthy options like Honest Mary’s!

Healthy eating isn't always the easiest thing to come by when dining out in Texas. Honest Mary is a fast-casual kitchen preparing vegetarian, gluten-free and healthy bowls at their two branches in Austin. We stopped by recently and had their Sedona Lime and Med Harissa bowls, both were freshly prepared and tasted very good. You can also do custom bowls choosing your own proteins, rice/salad base and other food items/sauces. Prices are about right for the food quality and portion sizes served. Seating area is a regular, casual restaurant and bowls are prepared fairly quickly.

My wife and I stopped in here for a quick lunch. The emphasis is on farm to table vegetables. There were some interesting bowl but nothing very impressive. The most notable thing was the dirty tables. Obviously thet do not put bussing tables high on their priority list. We won't go back.

Their Signature items are sensational combinations, but guests can also customize them! Fresh ingredients, quality produce and friendly service. I love this place!

I recently had dinner here with my wife, we had a couple hours free so we were looking something quick and not too expensive. Honest Mary's is in a strip mall, along with a couple other restaurants and shops, so parking can be tight at times. The decor is clean, sleek and modern, but also welcoming in a homey sort of way. The business model is pretty simple. You "build your own bowl" (a la Chipotle), but the ingredients are healthy. They have a number of base grains (and a noodle choice), protein choices, healthy sides and dressing/sauces. I had quinoa, green lentils, pickled onions, asian slaw, charred brussel sprouts and the peanut dressing, and it was delicious. I was skeptical of how such diverse ingredients would come together, but they did, and wonderfully. I had some leftover, and it was just as tasty for lunch the next day. They have a couple beers on tap, and a selection of artisan iced teas to choose from as well. Prices are reasonable for the quality and quantity, I think my wife and I were out the door for about $25 for the two of us. Highly recommend for a healthy change from the standard Tex-Mex and BBQ options all over Austin.

You'll recognize the format (think Chipotle or any of those resto's where you build your meal as you go), and here the ingredients are in the farm to table theme, lots of healthy grain, pulse, veggie and protein choices, and the dressings are great too. If you're in a part of the US where there are CoreLife Eateries, you'll know the drill. Honest Mary's is a one location, locally-owned operation - we'd definitely go back for another quick, tasty, healthy lunch.

I give a standing ovation to Honest Mary's for being a beacon of light in a dismal and burger filled land of lunch options - Well Done!!!

Very fresh salad bar with plenty of sauces to choose from. A little too busy inside to be able to focus on work, so I would recommend taking your food with you and eating outside, which is easy because the food comes in handy bowls.

I ordered the make your own chicken bowl. The colorfulness comes from rainbow carrots and the pickled onions. Food this pretty has to be photographed! The taste was delicious as well. The cauliflower, chicken and mushrooms were all seasoned well and had taste. The showstopper is the spicy peanut sauce. I would eat my debit card if it was dipped in that sauce. Clean eating has never tasted this good from a casual restaurant. I have only had it delivered to my office, I haven't been in the actual restaurant. All the packaging is recycled material, or it appears to be. Overall quality of the food is worth the cost. However, both times I have ordered a chicken bowl, it's been light on the chicken. For a $15 lunch, a little more chicken would make sense. I wish they bottled and sold their dressing. Definitely will order again. Not sure I would consider this a place to have dinner, but more of a lunch spot.

Loved this place. Best poke I have tried in ATX. Ingredients are first class and portions are huge compared to price. No more looking for pokes for me. This is it

Took out two bowls, a poke-based and chicken-based bowl, with fresh add-ons, Ready on arrival, about $12/each. Inside looked clean, modern/simple, when I picked up my order. Not sure I’d dine in, but will take out from here again.

There was a literal bone in my coffee, and I almost choked. Also, the coffee was stale and just overall bad. I don't recommend eating here as they ignore major health precautions.

Fresh and delicious bowls! They source from local farms and have protein you can add to any bowls. Had the Dear Quinoa Signature bowl. Yummy.
Acceptable "Food In A Bowl", but you can do better.
This is one of those "assemble a bunch of stuff in a bowl" kinda places. You basically pick a protein (I hate that word in a restaurant context, btw), a couple of toppings, a couple of sides, a dressing, and you're good to go. In theory pretty good, it's just one of those things where the whole is less than the sum of the parts - everything ends up tasting kinda ... bland. So yeah, "meh".
