We came because of the 5 dollar breakfast offer on weekdays until 9 am (check menu) including free refill coffee. We weren't dissapointed. The place has a nice relaxed and cozy vibe to it, and all the waiters and greeters are just nice and very attentive. Makes you feel welcome. The food on the menu is mostly local and high quality, for example is the bacon from the state, and they use free range eggs, which is a good statement. We had breakfast twice there, and weren't dissapointed. We just wished they would start making oatmeal instead of grits !! For a European, grits is not really that good compared to oatmeal. Lunch items sounded delicious too, but we didn't try them. Go there for the cheap and good quality food, and the nice service. You can't go wrong

Had a delicious brunch here and would highly recommend the Eggs Benedict. Please note, it is cash only.

Honey's is absolutely the best for an awesome, hearty brunch. Cute decor and the best comfort food, plus it's a BYO! My friends and I love bringing champagne and indulging in some serious brunching. The flagship in northern liberties is smaller than the south street location -- both are often crowded and don't take reservations

My first visit. I was impressed with the menu, the quality of the food and the staff. Loved the diversity of the crowd. Expect to wait for a table during busy hours.

Went for breakfast on a Tuesday (possibly a Thursday) morning so we did not have to wait. The menu was great! It's creative with familiar classics. The best part was the food was so good! Can't wait to go back and try another selection! Tip/reminder- they are cash only. They have take out and catering!

We were here for breakfast. Really nice place, good service and good food. Even taxi driver mantion this place when we arrived. Full of local people even on working day. Big choice for breakfast. Everything is very tasty. We had 2 omelets and 1 portion of pancakes which was split into 2 with different topping as we wanted. But not underestimate portions, they big, we were very full after.

It took me a year to finally be able to time my visit right as to avoid a line out the door to get in. But one Saturday, I FINALLY got there early and BOY am I happy I did. The atmosphere has a cozy/homey feel to it. There aren't a ton of tables, and they are very close to each other; but that just lends to the overall feel (I had actually reached across to the table next to me to grab creamer for my coffee... and it was encouraged) If you are more of an up-tight person, this may not be the place for you. The menu rotates with decent frequency, so don't fall in love with any particular dish, and expect a new experience each time. Expect a wait for breakfast/brunch no matter what time you go -- it's just that good.

Eclectic menu, funky atmosphere, excellent food. Great biscuits. very crowded for breakfast, but the staff handled it very well. Excellent grits and amazing potato Latke.

Needed a good breakfast while traveling in Philly. What we got was a great breakfast. This restaurant was homey and comfortable. I had the eggs Benedict, they happily changed the bread to gluten free at my request. I really enjoyed my meal. The portions are large. They get crowded but the wait was almost exactly what they told us. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Stopped at this place for a Sunday morning breakfast because a friend recommended it. At 8:30am, we were able to walk right in and grab a seat. It is a cute little hipster looking restaurant with lots of different menu options. I had the scrambled egg with corned beef and it was so good! The portions were big too. Stop here for a great breakfast!

Went here on a whim after reading good reviews. We tried out "The Bomb" with a latke and an Omlet with challah bread. The latke was absolutely delicious & the challah bread was a fun option. Atmosphere was relaxed and decorations were quaint. Our waitress was friendly and polite. Definitely reccomend stopping in here.

The food is great, the atmosphere is nice and relaxed. There is a wide variety of choices available for kids and adults alike. The staff was so friendly, they were even terrific when we were lingering and they wanted to be done for the day, we never felt rushed or hurried. It's just an overall great place for everyone.

Crowded on a Sunday morning, but we got there at 9:30 and only had to wait for 15 minutes for table of 5. Everything we got was delicious - pancakes, latkes, a special French toast (it was made with nutella, which I don't like - and it ended up to be my favorite dish! more pecan-y than hazelnut-y), fresh squeezed OJ, and the service was friendly, funny, and good. Atmosphere is funky and casual. A wonderful neighborhood place and worth the effort if it's not in your neighborhood. Came to $20pp with tip, and we ordered a lot of food!

Along with 4 friends we enjoyed the very casual atmosphere. The chalk board offered lots of great sounding additions to the menu. We opted for delicious omelets with hummas, feta, onions and olives, trout sandwiches and smoked salmon sandwiches. Everything was plentiful. Fresh bottomless cups of coffee and good ice tea rounded out our order. While the room was full and tables closely set we conducted easy conversation. For an informal breakfast or lunch this is a great neighborhood dining spot.

The food was substandard. The prices were high only because of the area. I paid for the location not the food. The staff was pleasant enough but my waitress was inattentive.

Pretty much sums it up. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, good food. If we lived here, we'd make it a regular stop.

I have had a lot of veggie burgers in Philly, but this surpasses them all as my favorite for sure. I like that you can chose your side from a list of several options. The service was excellent and atmosphere was welcoming and relaxed. My only complaint would be that it is cash only.

We stopped here on a weekend trip from out of town. It was a fairly long wait for brunch, but I thought it was well worth it. We shared the veggie fried steak and it was delicious! We will definitely be stopping here again the next time we are in the area.

Okay I have been to Honey's several times with family for breakfast. Now the food is always good. They offer something for most. The meals are cooked well and they made with fresh ingredients. The place is not exactly a dive but it could use some cleaning and bathroom checks. Not to be picky, but the bathroom is always dirty and uninviting. One other problem we have gotten into as a family of four and sometimes five is the seating. Most of the seating is for two people. When we have come in with four we have to wait while they sit couple after couple. We went this past weekend and the wait was an hour and tables could have been combined with some better planning. That being said the place is better then many and the food is good.

Be prepared to wait if you want to enjoy the best breakfast ever! This review is of the Fishtown location which I have visited at least a dozen times. I have brought friends, family, and everyone in between here to show off their ability to fill your belly with joy and happiness. There isn't a bad item on the menu. The portions are fairly large, everything is fresh and local, the service is awesome, ambiance spot on for the customers and location (chill, old school, and funky). There is a counter you can sit at and enjoy a slice of homemade pie or plenty of close-knot seating to accommodate small or larger groups (or even just yourself). They always have specials and that is where I would usually eat from. The last thing I had there were the most bangin' orange cardamom pancakes. I truly can't say enough about this place! It's a Fishtown treasure!

We were looking for a good breakfast place that opened early and found Honey's Sit n. eat opened at 7. We could not have expected to be treated with such wonderful service, great music and delicious food. The staff all greeted us pleasantly as we walked in the door. I ordered the Challah french toast. It was wonderful. My husband ordered the 3 eggs scrambled with pastrami with the latke and toast with fresh squeezed grapefruit juice. I kept stealing bites from his plate. The juice I could have drank all day it was so refreshing. Great music in the background, a warm and friendly staff and pleasant atmosphere, what a great way to start our day!

My grad school daughter moved to the Graduate Hospital area, and so we went here when we visited. The service was timely and friendly, and the server was able to answer all of my questions about food allergies. My fish tacos were excellent, as was all of the other food (pastrami sandwich, chicken fried steak, chicken fingers).

I spent the weekend in Philly with friends from Fish Town who took us plenty of great places to eat a few blocks from home base. After a mild heart attack from the delicious but excessively price breakfast played at Cafe La Maude a few doors down, I was hesitant to try the oft-stirring Honey's for fearing of busting the wallet on yet another pricy breakfast. Honey's always has a crowd, and affordability is probably why, as well as excellent food and service. There's lots of interesting choices on the menus from the fancier orange cardamom pancake specials and French toast made with challah bread to various simple egg-meat-potatoes-and-toast selections. The coffee kept flowing and everything was delicious (it was a table full of French toast and one order of Huevos Rancheros). The place is easy going and the staff are so friendly and always available. Patrons can dine indoors or, if you don't mind the constant foot traffic on the sidewalk, there is outdoor seating. The surrounding neighborhood is pleasant and located a short walk from Old City, should you be interested in sightseeing. Overall, it's a great place to pass the time on a weekend morning with friends. A note: this is a cash only restaurant, though there is an ATM on site.

Very homey atmosphere with both local families and tourists eating breakfast. Mixture of Southern style cooking and Jewish foods and we tried both. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The restaurant was advertised that a wait was normal, but we went at 10:00 AM and were seated immediately. Not fancy but comfortable.

Quaint restaurant we found on Local Eats app as best breakfast in Philly. It was excellent. Great menu, good service. We had the Honey Cristo and split it with a side of home fries with peppers and onions. It came with a salad. It was delicious ham and Swiss cheese, sandwiched between French toast! Hush 'yo mouth! There were a lot of creative dishes we wanted to try on this menu. There was also a bar which looked like fun and outside seating.

Honey's is a popular joint in Philadelphia. It is not a fancy place. As a matter of fact, they have given it a retro look by repurposing parts from old factories, offices, and homes. Except for chairs (may be), everything in the place (including the toilets) has been retrieved. This gives it a unique character. The food is simple but good. If you get there before 9:00 AM, you get the bargain breakfast which is plenty for one (includes bottomless coffee/tea). Their jams are delicious. I had fried egg, latka (tasty), bread, and jam. You can also get delicious pancakes in this bargain menu. They also serve lunch and dinner which we did not have there. The bargain menu is available Monday to Fridays.

Comfort food with quirkiness. Moralistic vegetarians like myself have plenty of scrumptious options. Carnivorous cavepeople, ditto. The seating calls for diplomacy - very tight - but generally a good-natured crowd. So many interesting dishes that you simply have to go back again.

We got there after 1 pm and had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. They have benches around the corner, so, the wait was fine. The beet salad was delicious. The fish tacos could have been drier. The pancakes were pretty good. Brunch for 3 with tax and tip came to about USD85. Service was friendly but a bit slow.

What a great spot. Visiting my daughter who recently moved into Philly and she suggested we go to Honeys. Great vibe. Nice crowd. Busy but friendly. And brisket with breakfast!! Solid winner.

We enjoyed our visit to Honey's Sit n' Eat. My husband and I went for a late breakfast on a Friday morning. The hostess said we had about a 10 minute wait. We sat at our table in less than 5 minutes. The food was good and the atmosphere had a cool vibe - very eclectic crowd. I had one of the specials, eggs benedict with fresh mozzarella and tomato and a side of grits. The grits were creamy and delicious. My husband got eggs over easy - cooked perfectly with turkey sausage and toast. We also shared one huge pancakes. There are a lot of choices on the menu. It's hard to know what to pick. Our daughter is starting college in Phili - so we will have four years to come back to explore the rest of the menu. Parking is on the street and can be hard to find.

Just be prepared this is a cash only establishment. We arrived at 10 on a Monday and it was not crowded, but at 10:30 the place was full. The food was very good, staff very attentive. I would highly recommend this location.

I have gone there several times this year for breakfast. This is a gem! Great coffee, service, food . Always something cool and different to try.

Came here for Breakfast today ( Friday) around 10am, and the place was packed, honestly was surprised that it would be packed. The menu is extensive with a few specials. The inside lighting is a bit dark and old and industrial looking with two large steal beams running along the ceiling. It is a hipster hangout. We shared the pancakes that were freshly made and delicious - but pay extra for the real Maple Syrup not the table Syrup. My eggs were good, and the Latkes are a must try. The coffee was ok. All and all, this is a must try for Breakfast if you can get in. *Note: Street Parking can be a challenge, and it is a CA$H ONLY place.

We enjoy eating at different places for Sunday breakfast with friends. We went to the Northern Liberties location this past Sunday. Upon arrival, you are struck by the dilapidated appearance of the place. The restaurant is in a corner building with an unimpressive facade. We were not deterred by this. Inside is seating for what appeared to be about 75. Our wait for a table was about 15 minutes. The menu is an assortment of the usual breakfast foods coupled with delicious additional ingredients. They also had vegan selections. My primary complaint is the cost. $4 for a glass of orange juice is excessive and $45 per couple for breakfast borders on ridiculous.

I went to this restaurant because it had been highlighted on the tv show, "Diners, Drive-ins & Dives" (DDD). I was not disappointed. The three of us all had great meals that were very fairly priced. It's right in downtown Philadelphia, and parking can be a challenge, but it was worth it. FYI . . . cash only.

Yummers. Big portions. They have a lot of your standard menu items with a little twist. We went and had about a 45 minute wait so be mindful of that.

Great food and service, but cash only. I went to honey for breakfast with a group of friends on a Sunday morning in March. It was amazing. I would advise trying to make a reservation because it can get very busy on Sundays. The food selection was really good and the service was fast. My only warning is that it is a cash only restaurant. So be prepared because they do not take credit cards. The pastrami sandwich is really good and is huge. It can easily be split for two. Highly recommend the brisket tacos.

I got the breakfast bomb the last two times and its worth the calories!! Amazing food. We have eaten here several times. Always good. Get there early to get a seat because its a small restaurant.

We stopped by for breakfast, the menu has a good selection, but not overwhelming. I had biscuits and gravy. I would put them at or below average, but my wife had a breakfast scramble thing(?) that she really enjoyed, so I'm bumping up the rating. It was very family friendly, the prices were reasonable, and the environment was welcoming to all. One knock against them is not taking Credit Cards, but they do have an ATM on site, so that was a positive.

Place is always packed. Downside is usually the wait time. Staff are okay depending on the day. Food is beyond amazing. Spiced and cooked to near perfection. Price is reasonable. Bad spot for hangovers as it's always loud in there. Great food but look elsewhere for a great experience.

The best French toast I've ever had! They had many items on the menu that looked interesting, but I had to go with an old favorite (that I never get), so glad I did. Everyone else enjoyed their food too. My husband got an omelet and breakfast potatoes that were very good.

Stopped at Honey's Sit 'n Eat for breakfast before heading back home. I never thought I would ever eat collard greens but I tried the Collard Breakfast PoBoy and my wife the Omelet with Asparagus both were outrageously good. Service was top notch and prices were pretty good also. Next time in town will try lunch or dinner. Well worth the ice covered narrow streets and ankle deep slush.

Enjoyed our fish taco sandwiches at this quirky little restaurant in Northern Liberties. We both thought our meals were very well prepared, and the service was excellent. We are looking forward to revisiting and trying different menu items. A nice spot in the neighborhood for dropping in to get a bite to eat any time of the day.

Not one of us was disappointed in our sunny September breakfast outdoors. Enfrijoladas were fresh and delicious as were the chocolate pancakes and eggs with home fries and challah. Great location, trendy and very nice service. Highly recommend this pug friendly restaurant!!

Party of 4 people, 2 teens looking for breakfast in an unfamiliar area and we found this through online reviews here and on Yelp. This neighborhood is kind of hip, so we decided to try it and we are so happy we did. Lots of locals coming in and out and willing to wait for tables so you know it's good. Very satisfying and varied egg plates- huevos rancheros, biscuits and gravy and delicious latkes as one of the potato sides! They also serve lunch items at the same time so we were all happy. I had the chicken salad sandwich and it was delicious. This is not a big place so if you come at rush hour, expect a little wait. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. For those interested, apparently you can BYOB too.

We love it. Everything was delicious, and the vibe is great. Good service as well. Will be back soon!

So I've been hearing about this place Honeys for a few years now. I'm a fan of brunches and was repeatedly told this is major stop for brunch lovers. The hour wait went by fast as I was surrounded by Hipsters, Moms and Dads, girlfriends, boyfriends and any and all walks of life. Plenty of people watching if you have to wait on a Sunday morning (which you will) or decide to eat outside. 1st piece of advice, ORDER THE ORANGE JUICE!!!! I can't stress this enough. It's fresh squeezed on premise and you can totally tell. So good. I ordered the biscuits and gravy. The sauce had a kick and felt truly southern. Homecooked aspect came from the sausage being chopped and spooned over the bread and not the store bought crumbled kind mixed into the sauce. Awesome. My dining mates had pancakes, eggs with cheese , bacon, latkes and I sampled them all...for research of course. ;) All of it was cooked to perfection. We enjoyed our experience thoroughly and it was worth the calorie intake. You can tell its neighborhood-y but we felt totally comfortable and welcome. Go!

Very popular spot on Sunday morning, but the wait time was not too bad at about fifteen minutes. Our experience was well worth the wait. Can't say enough positive feedback about all of the staff. The place was bustling and every server checked our coffee or water as the passed by - and were all welcoming. Our breakfasts were wonderful - I had a maple bacon steak with fried tomatoes, eggs and a biscuit with gravy - a great combination. Coffee was strong and plentiful; the orange juice was fresh squeezed. Not the least expensive breakfast but I can't wait to go back. Highly recommended.

Honey's Sit-N-Eat is a Bohemian diner located just off I95. As we were driving north we did a Google search for some reasonably-priced good food, and Honey's topped several lists. It is tucked in the middle of some well-traveled tightly-packed Philly streets, but we had no problem finding an open spot half a block away. breakfast is their focus, and servers are constantly walking by asking if you'd like a coffee refill. Be sure to check the chalkboards for the specials and you will probably eschew the menu altogether. They have many breakfast staples, but some choices you don't often see, like toad-in-the-hole, but I went with the juevos rancheros since I was in the mood for avocado. Everything about the dish was fantastic, from the crispy tortillas with the beans and salsa to the perfectly-runny eggs. I was a little dismayed to see that the avocado was served on the side of the plate instead of layered into the dish, but it did not make it hard to eat. This is a wonderful gem and we have a new spot to stop at as we go up and down the east coast.

Recently visited for lunch. The service was fast and the servers were friendly. Had the Big Salad and gluten free french toast. The salad was freshly made and huge. The french toast was very tasty. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The place is small, but that adds to the charm. Parking can be a hassle in the neighborhood. But the food and service was great. Will be back to try more menu items.

Visited Honey's today and was pleasantly surprised. I kinda expected a mediocre meal, but everything was very tasty. The home fried potatoes with onions and peppers was quite flavorful. Will definitely be returning.

Honey’s had the best french toast I’ve had in a long time. We arrived early and sat outside. Staff was really nice and we really enjoyed our meal. Bring cash though as they don’t take credit cards! Also, arrive early because it gets really busy right around 9 am and thereafter.

It has an incredibly adorable and laid back atmosphere, delicious breakfast food, and nice coffee. The people are friendly. The food comes out quickly and is always well-prepared. Some favorites include their buckwheat pancakes, homemade sausage, and their corn bread and/or latke. They do get busy on weekends, so plan to get their early or be ready for a wait. Additionally, they are cash only, so make sure to bring some or use their atm machine.

We have been hearing about Honey's for years and finally had time to stop by while in Philly over the holidays. The place was packed, and rightfully so. The food is outstanding. Creative breakfast dishes, well prepared, and are heaping portions - you should not leave hungry! Don't forget it is cash only (they do have an ATM if you need it).

A native Philly friend recommended eating at Honey's Sit n' Eat when I spontaneously decided to visit. Hands down the best biscuits I have had in the world. I went for breakfast and ordered the three egg omelet. The potatoes were deliciously flavorful too. And the wait staff is just so welcoming and nice. This place is my first recommendation when I hear someone is going to Philly.

Quaint & Homey. This is a small restaurant offering eclectic dining. Everything is local including the tea - which is very good. I like different and this different is worth your visit.

Maybe it was my choice of meal but I'm struggling to know why this place is so highly recommended. I had "Honey's Platter" with home fries and homemade pork sausage. The pancakes were fine. Not too big and nice and fluffy. You really have to try hard to screw up eggs so I'll ignore them. The home fries were underwhelming, just dull. The sausage had a funny taste that I could put my tongue on buy suffice it to say I didn't eat half of it. Just hire someone to go to North Carolina and bring back Neese's Country Sausage. I guarantee the sales will triple. The host was great and the server was attentive. It's cramped so don't expect a bunch of elbow room or a private conversation.

I had the brisket sandwich with fries. The sandwich had mushroom gravy and sauteed spinach in it as well. My fiancee had the honey cristo. Everything was great.

I had the chicken and waffle eggs benedict. I can't begin to explain the flavor explosions. Now, if I'm not mistaken, that was a daily special, and not something that's on the regular menu. I could be wrong. Even still, go there immediately.

Honey's Sit n Eat is popular with the locals, especially on weekends. Get there early if you do not want to wait for a long time. The breakfast/brunch food is good. A favorite dish is the brisket omelet. The menu is varied and fairly basic except for the brisket omelet, and includes options for those who prefer not to have meat ( try the tofu scramble). Coffee is good and hot when served. Breads are yummy. Very casual dining in a crowded and sometimes noisy space, but the servers are pleasant, helpful and prompt. This is a good spot to meet with friends for a relaxing and casual meal. Parking is on the street you may have to circle the block on a weekend. The restaurant is close to other things to do if you are visiting Philadelphia, including all the activities on South Street, the Italian Market, The Magic Gardens, to name a few. Fun!!

Went to brunch today, loved it again. You are welcomed and not rushed. I ordered the Enfrijoladas, deliciously fresh and flavor bursts throughout. I would order this again! My man had the Jeb's open face biscuit sandwich, which he said was delicious. Our friend had the breakfast bomb, always a winner with us. Relaxed atmosphere. Just found out this is a byob. The couple sitting next to us was having mimosas. We will definitely bring our bubbly with us next time. Fast, good service and hot food, always a plus. Street parking - pay at the kiosk.

Had a Honey's Cristo and it was wonderful. The Challah toast bread used is the star for sure. Perfect texture. This place is a gem. Totally worth driving across Philly for.

Saw this place on DDD (Diners, Driving,& Dives) and boy was it good! cloaked from the hotel about a mile enjoying the neighborhoods as we arrived at the restaurant. My Nephew ordered the "Two Giant Pancakes" - have your appetite ready. I had the eggs benedict and it was delicious! The ambiance is great laid back and simple - not pretentious!

It's OK. Coffee is hot. My heovos racheros was as authentic as taco bell. Weak. Overpriced hipster nightmare. Venue was nice.

Good food that is *always* worth the wait. It is definitely one of our regular brunch spots we hit in the NoLibs area. We've tried a lot of things on the menu, but my go-to is the Honey Cristo. It's a variation of the Croque Madame/Monte Cristo with challah bread that is simply amazing (and I've had my fair share of madame/monte/monsieur sandwiches). The coffee is always hot, the service is always friendly, and the food always on point. I always recommend Honey's to friends visiting the area. Remember - cash only! But they have an ATM there just in case.

This was my first food experience in Philly and it did not disappoint! First Honey’s is BYOB! I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich with onion rings...it was delicious! The chicken was seasoned and fried perfectly and the onion rings were hot and crispy. The sandwich had thick cut bacon, avocado and an amazing sauce. I would definitely get this sandwich again! Our server was very nice, didn’t rush us, and seemed to really enjoy her job. That made the whole meal even better.

Came here for a late breakfasts while visiting Philly. We had to walk quite a while to get there but it was totally worth it. We had one of the most delicious breakfasts we've ever had. The servers were super friendly and they had really nice coffee too. Wish I could have breakfast here every morning :)

We had to wait about 15 minutes it was five of us that was fine it’s a small place with no real waiting area. The pancakes , eggs , cornbeef , biscuits , sausage , jams were all very good but the grits were runny and the country fried steak with the gravy was bland and hard and not good . The waitress was very friendly and attentive I would return when in Philly but make sure it’s a nice day because you have to wait outside .

Went to Honey’s this morning, menu a bit limited but I’m sure everyone can find something that they would eat. Service was good, but the food was average at best. Fresh squeezed lemonade taste like it was made from bottled lemon juice instead of fresh lemons. Grits were too watery and beady. Homefries weren’t anything that I was used to, but I’m sure someone would like them. I don’t want to say anything too negative because it just may not have been a place for me, but I wouldn’t try to discourage anyone else from going.

Cute eclectic restaurant in Northern Liberties, but unfortunately located on a corner near a sewage drain which smelled terrible. An immediate turnoff and definitely made eating outside a no-no. Surprised they even have outdoor seating. Anyways, went during the week and only had to wait 2 minutes to be seated. Definitely a crowded and small place.I ordered the French toast which was possibly the best I ever tasted, crispy on the outside and soft in the inside, just perfect. I had it with a side of Turkey Bacon and Eggs. Now the major downfall was that my turkey bacon tasted spoiled and smelled spoiled as well. I immediately sent it back and got the turkey sausage instead, which I was pleased with. Hubby had the Breakfast Bomb, with choice of meat and home fries. The home fries were incredible and the breakfast bomb was average-good. I would agree this place is on the expensive side a 6-8oz cup of OJ cost $4 and expect to spend $40-$50 per couple on breakfast here. Overall though great place to try if your in the neighborhood or if there isn't a long wait.

Honey's vegetarian sausage patty on biscuits with gravy, two fried eggs, and "heirloom" grits was one of the tastiest breakfasts I've had in a very long time. The house coffee was also surprisingly good. I really liked the "rough around the edges" ambience. The place was packed full of people enjoying the casual atmosphere and the good food. I would be a regular here were it not for the fact that the bill came to $32, before tip, for two people. At those prices, it would have to be a now-and-then breakfast treat.

This was our first meal in Philly and set the bar real high for the other places we went to. Incredible food, great big portions, good kids' menu, incredible orange juice freshly squeezed, great staff. Wow! The place is really small and eclectic feeling, they do not take reservations and are cash only--they have an atm inside the place but avoid the fee and bring cash. We went on a Saturday and ended up waiting about 45 minutes for a seat. I don't really mind a wait but there is an unfortunate smell outside of the restaurant, like sewage. Waiting that long, in that smell with two small children was really annoying but not really Honey's fault. We were a party of four, parties of two got in much much sooner, like 5 to 10 minutes. We tried the omelette inside a pancake, the chicken fried steak and the girls had chocolate chip pancakes that were as big as their plates--the best pancakes we've ever had...ever. We left there so happy that we didn't even smell the sewage on the way out.

Hidden gem but a great spot for brunch! Love the jewish-infused menu options Service Dine in Meal type Brunch Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes Huevos Rancheros, Fried Green Tomatoes

So this is what you need to know. Everything taste great, well at least what I had. I practically tried everything for breakfast and have come to the conclusion that this is the spot for breakfast. I have one gripe though, the monte cisto is not worth the price and is way over priced. I know truffle oil is used but that should not be the reason its so damn expensive. one egg, one piece of toast and some sauce. Don't ever order it, not worth it unless they drop the price $5. everything else is worth it tast great. Jebbs open face and the huevos rancheros are my favs. Enjoy. oh and the coffee is addicting. Also there are no reservations, so get there earlie or go about 30 min before u think u may be hungry.

We had honey's platter. Pecan pancakes & latkes were very good. VERY crowded and slow service. Would consider going again but I would need to find out their off peak times first. BYOB & cash only.

We headed to this corner eatery on the recommendation of a local we met on South Street. Just walking in makes you smile. The eclectic décor is entertaining all by itself but it's the coffee that makes you sit 'n eat. I adore diners and one criteria for a repeat visit is killer good coffee. The one quibble is that they don't have anything other than whole milk or cream. Kind of odd given people's preferences today. I had an egg white omelet and they let you craft your own "innards". The country biscuit was to die for! Another reviewer has said it is a wicked busy place. We arrived late, around 1:30pm, and had no problem.

I have been here twice and both times have had great food. I had the Honey's platter both times with bacon and a potato latke (make sure you get one when you go). The coffee is also delicious. The interior has great character and can be a little tight so be prepared. I would highly recommend this place which is relatively inexpensive, small and quaint with excellent food.

The food is good, but nothing special. The decor is interesting, but not particularly inspired. The best thing about this place is the wait staff; they are professional, engaging and fast.

There for brunch on a Thursday morning. Food was great, right along with service. Parking is on the street, can be a challenge. Portions were perfect, prices good. Tables are close together but the overall feel is laid back and friendly. I would eat there again.

Visited here for brunch. The brisket omelette was delicious and the banana cream French toast was great! The home-made biscuits were yummy! Wished I could have eaten more. The menu has some cool items that I would like to try on my next visit.

I live just outside of the city, and we popped in to grab some cronuts. Since we were in the area we decided to stop in. It's always a fun place to be, with an interesting menu and prompt efficient service. I got brisket tacos, and I have to say, the refried beans were excellent- and I'm not a bean fan. My date had the egg in a basket w hollandaise sauce, she loved it. This is simple, yet elegant food. There always neat pairing and good size servings. I suggest it. Just be prepared, you may have to wait some.

The restaurant is very small...like really small..So small that the table next to us was so close you would have thought we were all there together. But on the upside the service was great especially the host dude he was very nice. The orange juice was amazing...you would have thought JESUS himself hand squeezed it. But that's not the best part the FREAKING grits were amazing!! Wow best grits I have ever had In my life..NO LIE!! I had the French Toast too but it was ok nothing special, but the turkey sausage was good...long story short I'll be back!! Yes I recommend this place!

Ate here for lunch ate: a BLT: Big slices of toasted bread (kinda stale), 3 slices of very cooked bacon. Somehow the bacon was cold, so definitely pre-cooked and thrown on. A single slice of tomato, small, comically so. And some lettuce. I got the BLT because the lady on the phone said the tomatoes were good. I feel lied to. a side salad: Typical spring mix. Red onion. Croutons. Better than average ranch.

Folks know how good this place is - you can tell by the lines on Saturday and Sunday morning. The secret is to go during the week. Same wonderful servers and same wonderful food, but you can walk in and sit down. I always get the same thing - the enfrijoladas with brisket. Side of avocado, or maybe guacamole. Hold the sour cream. Ridiculous. Only this place would include brisket as a "breakfast meat". If this is your first time, order one mac-and-cheese pancacke for the table. I don't think it is on the menu anymore, but they will probably make it if you ask. You're welcome.

my husband and i were in Philly for the weekend and decided to stop here for breakfast. The food was AMAZING staff very nice and all ingredients were fresh. My husband loved the fresh squeezed oj.

Honey's is my favorite place to eat breakfast or brunch. I have high standards for my favorite meal of the day and this place always exceeds my expectations. Everything in the menu is out if this world and the specials are always amazing (making decisions hard). My favorites are impossible to name since it is every thing I have ordered, but I do love the whole wheat pancakes and challah French toast. My husband loves the Monte Cristo. If the food alone wasn't enough or the constant fill of your coffee mug, the staff is friendly and attentive. Be prepared to wait since a small place that gets packed. Also cash only. Truly the best breakfast out.

Took the family there to eat on an early Sunday afternoon after hearin great reviews. We were not disappointed.. Place was about half full. I went with the beef burger with swiss cheese (with sides of green bean caserole and lighty fried onion rings, other members of my party one got the Honey Cristo (stuffed french toast), another got Chicken Fingers, the other got a huge Reuben (took half home), and finally one got the a turkey Reuben sandwich. Food was fresh as described and portions were big - we passed on dessert. Highly recommend. Staff extremely friendly and cups were always full. Only issue is that parking is a little tight in this area of Phila, but still look forward to going back to try the breakfast menu

Based on the crowds and wait this is a very popular city spot. The menu skews toward breakfast but there are other selections. A relatively young crowd seems to be the main customers. The food is simple and good - generous portions with prices to match. Staff friendly, motivated and helpful with suggestions.

Much to choose from. We've been here a hand full of times. Haven't had a bad experience yet. If you love breakfast, you don't want to pass this place up. You won't be disappointed.

My buddy and I split their corned beef Ruben and the honey Monte Cristo. Both were excellent and very well prepared. We also had a potato pancake and it was excellent. I saw several pancake dished being served and they are on my list to eat my next trip along with their biscuits.

Everything about Honey's is great! I love the neighborhood feeling. The food was excellent. You can even BYOB!

I went here for breakfast, after reading other reviews on Trip Advisor. I have to agree with other reviewers that this place is great - so great in fact, that I'll be back the next time I'm in Philadelphia. I arrived just a few minutes after they opened at 7:00 am on a Sunday and there were lots of open tables. I was greeted right away and offered coffee. My server was fantastic and treated me like a valued customer. I ordered french toast with black figs and a latke, based on other reviews. The french toast was phenomenal - I must say the latke was good but not extraordinary. Next time, I'll try the biscuits as they also got great reviews.

Everything was thoughtful and tasty, many good choices on the menu. Comfortable and relaxed environment, helpful service. Cash only

Love this local restaurant, vegetarian and vegan options always available and all their produce is locally grown! Their prices during the weekdays are also amazingly reasonable!

Great food but be prepared for a wait. I had the Biscuits and gravy with homemade Turkey sausage (AMAZING)! My friend had the Mac and Cheese pancakes (sound weird but it wasn't) They were delightful.

A very good brunch, interesting menu and great service. A bit cramped but this added to the buzz on a busy Saturday morning. Good for families, for friends, for young and old.

My sister sent us here for breakfast/whatever after we pulled into town for a fairly brief family visit. The menu was broad and interesting and easily accommodated a broad range of palates, the service and servers very good, and the food was great. Rather funky decor - I loved the authentic steel beams and whatnot leftover from it's industrial past.

Honey's is an interesting and eclectic place to grab a bite to eat. We decided to have breakfast there and it was a nice choice. Food was good and different, but the wait staff was a bit too chill for our liking. Inattentive and slow. Breakfast also was expensive.

Brunch was delicious, service wasn't fantastic. Three women out for brunch, overall we enjoyed our meal. I had the eggs benedict, the challah was wonderful.

My girlfriend and I come here regularly for brunch. Everytime I go I try something new from the menu. poached eggs have become my favorite as this place sure knows how to deliver. I'm not sure if it's the sauce but whatever it is keeps me coming back. The salad on the side is simply delicious for a person who doesn't even like salad. The daily special can be very helpful and enticing in ordering . Don't be afraid to experiment, everything is relatively safe. I really like that everything is locally grown in Lancaster such as the BACON !! This place only takes cash but they do have an atm inside. Great for spring and summer outdoor brunches.

Come here hungry! I had the smothered Latke special. It was delicious and had Guinness beef gravy. Skipped the deep fried cherry pie. Maybe next time. We walked 4 miles to get here on a stormy winter day when most things were shut down. Honey's was open and worth the walk! They have another location as well. We went to the Northern location. Great cozy environment.

Been coming here for over 8 years. If you live in or visit philly, it is a must! Honey Cristo is excellent! Service is excellent. Always a wait and worth the wait! Fun casual atmosphere with great comfort food.

Love, Love, Love this place! Best pancakes on the planet & the coolest orange juice machine around... They literally toss whole oranges into this thing and ... Poof! there's your OJ... Make sure you're hungry when you get there, this place is super yummy.

Showed up on a Sunday morning fairly early and had a 20 minute wait for a table for five. I had the challah bread French toast stuffed with double smoked ham and swiss cheese and topped with sunny side eggs and side salad which was unbelievable! Also, the coffee at the diner is great! usually, coffee is an afterthought at most places but not at honey's. Served hot and fresh. We all had such good meals we will go again on our next visit to Philladelphia. Highly recommend this place. Service was great, they kept our coffee cups full and same with water glasses. Excellent place.

Been here thrice and this place never disappoints me. Good food period. First time, we had Breakfast Bomb and Fried Chicken. The portions were just perfect and the taste wad amazing. It was perfect sweet and perfect salty. The wait staff was courteous and prompt. I also liked their coffee. Second time we went as 2 families with kids and had our own wine bottle. The staff was prompt and gave us good seats. The only con is that, it's a cash only place & I thinks that's old school. We shud be able to use credit cards if we like. I don't like the places where I don't get options I like. Also, I think some people in the staff can be more energetic and prompt (personal opinion). Overall I recommend this place for breakfast or brunch.

Crowded but worth it. This food was amazing!!! The veggie options were surprisingly good!!! I'm a big fan of this place! Highly recommended!

We came here in the late afternoon (2pm) on a Friday and this place was still packed. We found this place from the Diner's, Drive-In's and Dive's Food Network program and wanted to give it a try. I haven't been disappointed yet or steered wrong from that show. We all decided to order breakfast and it didn't disappoint. My husband and I split the Breakfast bomb and it was recommended to add blueberries to the pancakes. Our waiter told us that it was an unusual combination, but we wouldn't be disappointed. And we weren't. My son ordered chocolate chip pancakes and it was a mighty portion. The service was decent, but not exceptional. They have 2 locations, so make sure if you are meeting up with people, they know which location you are going to.

Just got back from a stellar meal at Honey's Sit n' Eat in Northern Liberties. Whether you just want basic ham and eggs or something more elaborate (like their chorizo, potato, pepper jack omelet with green chili sauce) this restaurant delivers. Service was lovely - our Server kept my cup of La Columbe coffee continually topped. Don't miss this one!l

Breakfast was rich and great and service was good and familiar. I specially liked the original interior!

Spot lighted on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives. Excellent food worth the trip when visiting Philly. Would definitely return.

Lots of choices on the menu and many unique dishes. I had the huevos rancheros and my friend had the fish tacos. Kids got enormous chicken fingers and pancakes so everyone was happy.

Made a quick trip to Philadelphia. This place came up as a great breakfast place and it didn't disappoint. Food was really good, had the three eggs which were delicious. Our table shared two pancakes which were huge and enough for the whole table. Our waiter was great, explained the menu and gave great recommendations. He also filled our coffee consistently. This is cash only but definitely worth it.

We discovered Honey's Sit n' Eat several years ago during a spring break trip. It's been a couple of years since our last visit, but it was still as good. We've only had breakfast and it's always so good. With large portions you'll never leave hungry. And with the very reasonable prices you won't pay an arm and a leg. The pancakes, latka potatoes and large slab bacon are especially good.

Honey's is my favorite brunch spot in the city - it's cute and homey, and the food specials are always incredible. Imagine a southern comfort food diner of ages past, but add contemporary food specials like breakfast burritos. It's delicious and the lines are never as bad as similar favorite brunch spots.

This would be the perfect breakfast spot in walking distance of our Airbnb, except that we weren't the only ones who knew how good it is. Many traditional items, but also creative and delicious ways of doing the ordinary. As a scrapple lover I was very happy. It was definitely worth the wait and the staff did a good job of managing the hungry waiting guests. Once we were seated our server made us feel like we were the only ones there! Just be sure to take an umbrella if weather is an issue, as the inside wait space is limited.

Come with a full wallet. Food and drink is expensive, and they take only cash. Everything was delicious and prepared with fresh, high-quality ingredients. I had some sticker shock at $13 for corn-meal pancakes, $8 for a glass of grapefruit juice, and $3 for hot tea. That's an expensive breakfast!

I’m a Philly resident and have been eating at Honey’s in Northern Liberties for years. I recommend it to everyone I know. Food is fresh and delicious, staff are friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere is relaxed. A wide diversity of customers makes it a real Philly experience.

Everytime you visit Philly... You HAVE to visit Honeys Sit-N-Eat! Great for Vegetarians like myself and others as well. The seating is kind of crowded but it is not that bad. Feels like a family kitchen. If you miss going here.... You miss the taste of PHILLY at its BEST!

Cozy spot with a lot of character. I love the fresh food. Honey cristo is a fav. Yummy baked goods. Cash only!

If you can find your way to the northern part of the Northern Liberties neighborhood and then find a place to park, you're in for a great lunch in a unique venue. Last time I was in the neighborhood, I had the best burger of my life (and I'm a senior citizen). It was named after one of the servers, and I'm sure it could be had any day, whether or not appearing on the menu. It was incredible and included a fried jalapeno as one of its flavorful layers. The matzo ball soup was also first rate, even to someone who grew up with a Jewish mother. Fitting well into the character of the neighborhood, the cuisine offered in this repurposed industrial building of another age, is a swirling blend of American and ethnic influences that will take your senses on a pleasurable visit to a culinary amusement park. And the servers, too, are an interesting lot, and very friendly and accommodating.

Average meal. We arrived at approximately 9:00 am and made our way inside and seated ourselves at a table near the front door. The inside of the restaurant was not very well lit, and as a result, the setting was very dark. The waiter came up to us and gave us the menu, while also offering us something to drink. I chose the huevos rancheros which came with refried beans, cheese, two fried eggs, corn tortillas, pico de gallo and sour cream with Esposito’s Pork Sausage Links on the side. We waited approximately 20 minutes for our food to arrive. The food was average in taste, but was nicely presented on my plate. Tip: I recommend spending an hour here if you want to have a nice relaxing breakfast.

Wife had the stuffed French toast. I would recommend a shared plate for that due to the sweetness. I had the enfrijoles and they were incredible! The dressing on the greens really added to the flavor. My palette was very satisfied!

I love love love honeys. I highly recommend it as part of a Philadelphia experience. Their potato latke is amazing. you can't go wrong here. great ambiance for a cozy, small town atmosphere with amazing coffee and great food and service

This cute little place offered a tasty breakfast, great service, a unique menu large portions! If it had been closer to where we were staying, we would have gone more than once!!

I've been to both locations, for both lunch and dinner and it is always great. It's a very large menu, with a wide variety of choices and interesting specials. Love the biscuits, veggie sausage and latkes. Nothing too exotic, but always satisfying.

A small homely restaurant set in an old factory. Staff were outstanding friendly and efficient. The food was excellent well prepared and cooked. Excellent venue

This is the second time that we've eaten at Honey's. We went on a Saturday morning at around 11:30 am were able to get a table immediately, although the place was pretty full. The tables are packed together in the center of the room, not much room between tables so it's cozy with strangers. There is sidewalk dining. The servers are quick to take your order and the food comes up fairly quickly. Great iced tea. The menu offers many specialty items like a stuffed French toast which is to die for. I had the pastrami special, which is huge; you could split it with someone and not go away hungry. Honey's fries are thin cut, crispy and delicious. We will definitely be back soon!

Philly has a lot of great brunch places and Honey's is one of them, but the 4th street location is pretty crowded. You sit as close to other people as if you were sharing a table, which makes conversation a little hard. The french toast and latkes are highly recommended though.

Whenever I visit Philadelphia, I try to stop at Honey's Sit and Eat for breakfast. The food is always delicious and the staff is consistently friendly. I understand that it has gotten more crowded since it was featured on a Food Network show, but I go early and always get a table. The restaurant frequently offers specials. My advice: pay attention to your server, because the specials are always worthwhile. My favorites from the regular menu are the Challah French toast and the huevos rancheros. In my view, there are only two ways to improve this restaurant. The first is to allow the use of credit cards (it's cash only). The second is to somehow improve the parking situation in the neighborhood (not their problem, I know).

Busy place, delicious food, pleasant waitress. Great way to start the day 😋 I ordered something out of my comfort zone and was glad I did!

This is my favorite breakfast/brunch place in the neighborhood. Although the wait can be a little long, once you sit down the service is great and the food is always delicious, with different seasonal specials every time I come in.

Be prepared for a bit of a different breakfast experience here. First, parking is a bit hard at times so bear that in mind. My friend and I come down after long work shifts overnight. The joy in this is having a great meal after a hard day of work. We are very preferential about breakfast. This trip we tried the Eggs Benedict but with a spice to it. The hollandaise has a nice kick courtesty of the cayenne pepper and overall was the perfect consistency and flavor. The potato latke was crisp and delicious! What a nice change from the usual home fries. The Honey Cristo was a very good breakfast sandwich. This came with a side salad. The French toast itself had such a sweetness to it that no syrup was needed. The portions were just perfect sizes. We were pleased by our server who checked on us often. A very good local restaurant to hit for the breakfast fix. We will be back again.

In a neighbourhood full of dark trendy restaurants, this spot is a welcome break.Open bright and family oriented. The food is delicious.Heads up though.....they DO NOT ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS,but there is a ATM on the premises

The food at Honey's was delicious and fresh. My husband claimed these were the best eggs he had ever eaten. The portions were huge and the wait staff was efficient. The only negative was they did not have any hot chocolate. The restaurant has an eclectic feel. It is on the small side, so you may have to wait for a table. We were fortunate and only had to wait about 10 minutes.

Went to Honey's for breakfast and was very impressed! The atmosphere definitely gives off a hipster vibe but the service was so excellent and very quick and the food was down-home comfort goodness. I had the biscuits with sausage and gravy and it was absolutely delicious. The restaurant uses food sourced locally and offers a wide variety of both vegan and vegetarian fare. The price is a bit on the more expensive side, but for the cost you're receiving fresh food that isn't trucked in from hundreds of miles away. A price I'd be willing to pay again!

Great spot to have breakfast. Food is amazing and they have interesting specials. Coffee is excellent, staff are friendly. We went twice and enjoyed both meals. Cash only.

I live a block away from Honey's but it took me a few months before I tried it. Mostly because there is always a line. Honey's is breakfast & lunch only and cash only. The food is wonderful and locally sourced. Service can be spotty depending on how busy it is. So go early or weekends in the summer when most of Philly is at the shore.

I love this place, it’s great no matter what season you go .. during the summer it’s cool to sit outside & in the winter it’s nice & cozy inside. The food is delicious and they always have good specials... it’s cash only so bring your wallet. Customer service is always on point, usually “Fidel” seats me and takes care of me w/a smile and positive energy. 👍🏽

We found this place on TA as we were looking for places in the area near the college. After finding parking and walking to the building, we learned that it was CASH only - there is a sign on the door that let's you know and there is an ATM inside - we would have preferred to pay by card, and not be charged an atm service fee. We did decide to go in and it wasn't too crowded as we were there around 2:30 on a weekday. We were greeted right away, and the staff was friendly. This is a nice spot to grab a bite, it has an industrial vibe and a relaxed atmosphere. Two of us ordered from the specials (the deep fried French toast...yummy), we also ordered the chicken fried steak, and the grilled chicken sandwich...all of which everyone throughly enjoyed! We will make a return visit when in the area.

Good food at a good price, great staff. They pay attention to detail and ofetn have interesting specials. Though their standard menu is filled with good choices. Great value for money. Parking in the area can be a bit tricky

My wife and I stopped in for breakfast this past June based on the TripAdvisor reviews. The service as good and friendly, but with a crowded restaurant and not an inkling of any kind of uniform (or even not appearing generally slovenly), it was impossible to know who was even an employee and who was a customer. The prices were kind of high for breakfast. It is also cash-only. I understand that it is their prerogative but my personal opinion it reflects poor customer prioritization as many prefer not to have to get cash or pay a fee to get cash just for the honor of eating there. As for the food, it was tasty and good and I can see why they have a reputation for breakfast. On the other hand, my potatoes were mostly underdone and hardly edible. The ones that were done well were delicious. I recommend based on the taste of the food, but the prices, slovenly appearance of staff, and being cash-only costs it some points.

Great Place, attention to detail. Food was cooked perfectly. Jewish food mixed in the menu was a great addition. There was a line out the door with a short wait. If we come back to Phila this place will be on our list.

Had great service but it was a little pricey. Great portion size but some things that were extra were pricey and thought it came with it since the waitress just asked if we wanted it---condiments---apple sauce, sour cream. Did not indicate canned soda, instead of free refills.

Went for lunch with my wife and we didn't know what to expect and wow we were impressed. I ate the chicken fingers with fries and coleslaw and it was great. My wife had some soft shell chicken tacos and they were great. The price wasn't too bad. The mocha coffee at the end of the meal was great. Highly recommend!

Good brunch with several vegan options. Restaurant is very small, and may require a wait depending on time of day. Cute neighborhood location.

Driving cross country and we picked out a spot from the web. The wife did a great job on this one. Loved the vibe and the breakfast. Made me feel like I was back in Austin. Definitely, a spot to not be missed.

We were tired, hot and hungry, and ended up walking to what looked like a hole in the wall from outside. Once inside, I guess the atmosphere could be described as Bohemian - old, worn wood floors, mismatched chairs, eclectic worn decorations, ELO on the sound system. But it was clean, and we were approached enthusiastically and seated. The menu, though limited to breakfast, sandwich-type offerings, a couple of platters, appetizers and salads, had some interesting twists - challah french toast, Bubby's brisket sandwich, fried green tomatoes, fried banana split. My son had the brisket sandwich, which was huge, tender, accompanied by an incredible horseradish sauce and a mountain of fries. I had one of the best burgers I've ever had - large, juicy, tasty, with a side of crisp, cheesy potato latke. My husband did the best - he had a pastrami reuben, which covered his entire plate, was piled high with juicy pastrami, sauerkraut, cheese, and dressing. But maybe the best part of his sandwich was the lightly fried marbled rye that formed its base. He had enough for himself, to share with each of us, and he still, sadly, had to leave some behind. Definitely the best reuben we've ever had. Great sandwiches, great lunch, loved the eclectic atmosphere. Two drawbacks: They accept cash only (ATM on premises), and they are only open till 4 or 5pm (check their schedule before going). We will be back!

Very pleasant basic solid food. Very enjoyable and comfort food. Simple and well prepared. Personal are very friendly and available

Honey's is cool. It is a small restaurant in an old building featuring exposed steel beams, wonderful breakfast comfort food, and warm hospitality. The food is excellent. Three member of our four member crew went for french toast, grits, potatoes, and bacon. One member had chipped beef over toast. Our table gave the meal and atmosphere an A+.

A group of five of us were driving the neighborhood searching for commercial real estate opportunities when hunger called. I researched Honey’s on trip advisor. What a great call! We enjoyed both breakfast (egg sandwich and huevos rancheros) as well as lunch (chicken fried steak, Ruben and Brisket tacos.). Service was efficient and with a smile. Highly recommend.

So I took my girlfriend and her mother here for Brunch today. It wasn’t a “bad” experience, but not the best either. First, the food. Cannot say enough good things about the food. I got the pancakes, my girlfriend got the Eggs Benedict and her mother got the Juevos Rancheros. All excellent. If you’re just ignoring everything else, come for the food. Absolutely. Also it’s a BYO so that made for some tasty Mimosas. Our waiter was pretty cool too. Everyone is very nice and is sure to take care of you from start to finish. My problem is with some of the logistics. First, no reservation system whatsoever. Everyone has phones now. You can reserve a table in an instant. That needs to happen. The customer flow suffers because of it and causes a line outside to form. Does it make the business LOOK good? Sure. Is it practical? I should say not. For as many people pass by and think, “that place must be amazing”, I should say just as many turn and go, “forget it. I want my French Toast THIS week”. There’s also no POS (point of sale) system that I could see. Naturally the place is cash only as a result. I’ve known people to leave a place just based on that alone. There is an ATM but who wants to get banged for a surcharge? It’s not “old school” or “retro” or anything, it’s lazy. It’s like they forgot. They took the time to bolt a giant spindle to the floor and wrap the duct work in an afghan, they can afford an iPad with Square. Second, the hostess tried to seat us at a two seater with two of us sitting on the same side in a booth. It was a tight squeeze so that was a hard pass. Once seated, I was kind of uncomfortable at the table. I’m 6’2” 250. I’m not THAT big of a dude. However, my thighs were pressed against the bottom of the table the entire time. The reason being the tables are made from repurposed drawers with little kitschy things placed in them and glass placed on top. Nice for decorating but makes the table lower on the bottom. Not an effective dining table. It seems as though Honey’s is falling into a trend I’m seeing where restaurants will sacrifice ease and comfort for being “unique”. The problem is the young, dare I say, hipster clientele will put up with it because they’d seem “out of touch” otherwise. Man, I turned 30 this year and it feels like my warranty expired. My knees are crap, my back hurts, and I can’t drink more than two beers without needing IV B12 the next morning. You gotta do a little more for me if I’m waiting an hour for a table. At the end of the day, sure, I’d get the food again. But take out.

Great specials and other selections. Service very good. Prices are city acceptable. Great corn muffin and really good coffee. Loved the lox and eggs and the potatoes were fantastic. Many free refills on coffee. Very busy and noisy but a great choice for breakfast, lunch and brunch.

We loved Honey's! We had brunch here and very much enjoyed the food, ambiance, and service! We had to wait for almost half an hour for a table because they are very busy Sunday afternoon but it was definitely worth it!

I had Columbus day off and my grand children did not so I wanted breakfast and not Denny's I had heard about honey sit & eat and drove by and saw the long lines. today no long lines but their was a short wait and the only seats was at the counter no problem we came to wat this restaurant serves air of families they had an area to leave your strollers but I sat at the counter a d the counter service was wonderful very attentive and knowledgeable about how the chef prepares the dishes the portions are huge the girl next to me ordered the chocolate chips pancakes covered the entire plate and the food was good I had eggs w pastrami homefries and toast great meal I will return.

This wasn't too far from our Airbnb and was a nice walk down a more residential area than Chestnut. Nice vibe and we were looking for a hearty meal before checking out the sights in Philly and this fit the bill. Huevos Rachos were yummy as was the 3 egg scramble which you can choose up to three ingredients. Great coffee and a tiny bit off the man drag but not too much as it seems more local spot which is a good thing. Now if only Philly could get a real transit system we'd come back.

Their PBJ French Toast was seriously one of the best things I've had in the last 3 lifetimes. Place is a bit small, not nearly as much seating as what I'm used to from brunch places/diners in Austin, but the atmosphere is very cozy, our waiter was great, and the food... I've already explained. I reeeeeally wanted to go back a 2nd time on my trip, but couldn't make it. If I knew when they will bring back that PBJ special, I would definitely factor it into my next trip timing. Not even kidding. Seriously. I'm kinda thinking of moving to Philly now so I can befriend the cooks and convince them to make that for me again.

Good food, good service, close to public transportation.. Cozy environment not too expensive. Good choice

Not only was the food sensational but the atmosphere and people just top it off to a perfect sunday brunch experience. It started on the outside while I listened to every party cheer or squeal when their name was finally called. They had their menus on stands outside so while you waited you could argue in your mind what you were going to order and if it was okay to perhaps order 2 meals. without a doubt, get a potato latke side for $2.50. You can always share it or take part home. Shake the lucifer spice on top too! I had the huevos rancheros and they were ridiculously amazing and arrived in about 5 minutes after ordering them. Pete was our server who was super nice.

We ordered the breakfast bowl with perfect grits & eggs and whole wheat chocolate chip pancakes. Place had a very local feel and we were thrilled we stumbled upon it. We will go back next time we are in town. One note - parking is difficult, but food and atmosphere are worth the effort.

We went here for a late Sunday morning breakfast. The food is fresh and locally grown (if I’m not mistaken). Parking at the restaurant is difficult to maneuver, but worth it. The restaurant is small, so be prepared for a little bit of a wait. Seating is indoor and outdoor. The staff is friendly and prices are comparable to similar style restaurants. This definitely will be my “go to” for breakfast whenever I’m in Philly

Loved our breakfast at Honey's! I am a big fan of huevos rancheros and they did not disappoint! Delicious. The staff was also excellent and the atmosphere was fun. Would recommend.

The food alone makes this one of my favorite places in the world to eat, but the hipster wait staff is always awesome as well. In my many visits, I have yet to find a meal I don't love. Probably not good for groups of more than four because of the cramped quarters, and parking can be a challenge, but don't let that deter you from trying Honey's. There also sometimes can be a long wait, but it is well worth it.

Having heard great reviews, I arrived for a solo breakfast at 9:15 on a Thursday. While the restaurant was pretty full, I got a table right away; that was the first and last satisfactory aspect of my experience. The restaurant's decor can be described as "brown;" every staff member had clearly had his hipster/Portlandia credentials checked as part of the hiring process. Facial hair, flannel, and languor are not enticing in a server--and guys, wearing a woolly hat while indoors just makes me think that you haven't bothered to shower today. I was approached by a waiter with a coffee pot and asked to have decaf instead. He just wandered off, rather than going straight to the coffee station about 15 feet away and coming back with the pot of decaf that was sitting there. I had to ask again for it when I ordered my meal. I chose the open face biscuit sandwich with a potato latke. It came out quickly (OK, that was satisfactory also) but the biscuits were the least biscuit-like things I'd ever seen--I had to ask if I'd received what I had ordered. Rather than being fluffy, round, and a couple of inches thick (which is what a biscuit should be), they were square, a half-inch thick, and dense--really bad. The latke was an over-fried, molded triangle with a greasy exterior and mushy interior. A slab of Sysco hash browns would have been better. The fried eggs on top were fine, although I was not asked how I wanted them, and the whole thing was swimming in white gravy. The overall meal was heavy, greasy, dense, and just not good all around. I ate a few bites of the "latke" but left most of it. I asked for the check, received it right away, and immediately put a $20 down on the check tray. Staff members drifted by my table for a good 10 minutes before anyone picked it up. The cash-only thing is aggravating, and one would have thought that it would speed the check-out process, but apparently not. I truly do not understand the hype on this place. Before reading the reviews here, it didn't even occur to me that there was supposed to be some sort of Jewish aspect to the cuisine--in fact I was just mystified by the faux-Hebrew font used in the restaurant's logo, because the only Jewish thing I noticed was the gimmicky (and bad) potato latke offered as a breakfast option. There are more Mexican dishes on the menu than anything Jewish, unless my relatives have been hiding their huevos rancheros from me all these years.

Well worth it. Take the time to get away from the crowds and sit-n-eat! The prefect little opportunity to rest the feet and enjoy a very nice quick meal.
Bring your appetite and cash!
So yummy! I had a latte with a breakfast special (a French toast biscuit, lavender vanilla creme anglaise, rhubarb jelly, and fresh blackberries - or something like that). My son had French toast sticks - also delicious! The service was great too! Parking is on the street, but manageable. There's an ATM inside if you forget your cash.
