Good food. Service and cleanliness of the place not to the original standard. Franchising or expanding should be done to meet original place. Otherwise it will be a disappointing experience.

This was our first experience. The burgers are nicely complex in textures and flavor profiles. We tried the Goodnight Burger and the Great Kabocha veggie burger. Sweet and spicy and crisp toppings! However, there is a very visible problem with fruit and bar flies! Also, the flatware was so spotted we didn't use them. Sad. The fries were nicely crisp and seasoned. Service was friendly and attentive.

This burger joint is fantastic! The customer service is excellent and the food is amazing! We had driven by this location numerous times and decided to try it. Primarily, when we arrived we were automatically greeted by Adam who was great, he welcomed us and explained to us the menu, the specialties they have, informed us how their buns are made in house and how we order our food. In addition, our server Joseph was very helpful and attentive. Joseph provided excellent service ensuring that our food tasted good! In regards to the food, the burgers were great! Burgers that are decent size, with the bun toasted and the meat cooked to your liking. I had the El Diablo burger, which is very spicy but if you love spicy food I highly recommend this burger! It has green peppers, and habaneros, spicy but good! My boyfriend had the primetime burger which also tasted great! I also recommend the Parmesan truffle fries, that were thin and filling, they were also accompanied with a dipping sauce which tasted great! We also ordered shakes, I had the Nutella Pretzel shake which had pretzel pieces inside. The shake was a great compliment to our order! Overall, we had a first great experience here and will definitely be returning, the food is great and the customer service is excellent. We went on a Wednesday during lunch time, and it was not very busy. I highly recommend this burger joint, great burgers and shakes!

Hubby and I entered restaurant as we normally do, picked up a menu and headed to line to place order and pick a seat of our choice as indicated on the sign near the entrance. We were intercepted by (I assume) a server who directed us to an elevated table and said she would take our order. I indicated that due to a problem with hubby’s knee we needed to sit in a booth or “low” table. She indicated all the inside ones were reserved but we were welcome to eat outside in not ideal weather. End of conversation I firmly told her that was not acceptable and we would find another place to lunch. AND we won’t ever return, especially with that attitude.

This restaurant is spelled incorrectly, should be Hopdoddy not Hopdaddy. Even so, it's my favorite hamburger of all - and I'm picky. Love the diversity of burger choices, and my favorite is the "El Diablo" as always done to perfection with delicious spices. The Angus beef is grass fed, ground in the restaurant and there are even lamb, fish and veg burgers. Love their many burger selections - something for every food plan! Fresh local organic vegetables, pricey buy interesting drink menu and fabulous fries. It's a $10 burger without sides, but you won't leave hungry! My server Thomas was well trained, very knowledgeable, welcoming and friendly. I am so happy Hopdoddy's has finally come to San Antonio because now I don't have to drive to Austin for my burger fix. Waiting in the sun to get in the door was rough on a hot day, but I noticed later that after a matinee at the Palladium Theater at a between-meal time there was virtually no wait! The line inside moves quickly - look the menu over and be ready to order to speed it up! Great addition to restaurants at The Rim!

You walk in the door and stand in a line while waiting to get to a counter to order. The menus are at the beginning of the line. They give you a piece of paper with your table number and name on it after you order as well as your drink glasses. You get your drink, sit down, and wait. Wait staff come bring your food. I ordered a bratburger that was great! The truffle fries were very good. You pay the bill at the table. A loud, busy, trendy place.

If you like standing in line for nearly 30 minutes for an overpriced, half cooked, tiny hamburger (think slider burger size), PLUS sit at a table where the people in line are bumping your table non-stop, then this is your place! My banana foster shake (small $5) was pretty good, but half the cup was whip cream topping, not good! One and done with this place. Much better food, prices and service elsewhere in SA!

This place was built up to be an all time great. Meh...don't misunderstand I'd go back BUT this was nothing special. Only had a hamburger, they say they cook to your liking but mine & my buddy's came back done, done, done, nary any pink to be seen. Overall rating it's ok, no better than Fat Boys but ahead of Burger Fi. So far the best I've had in SA was at Bigz.

Ate here twice within the past month, and equivalent experiences. If the line is out the door, it's about a 15-20 min wait to order. Once ordered, things move a little more quickly. The burgers were great, and properly portioned. The fries and available dips are equally good. While not a huge list, the selection of craft brews was decent. Worth the price, and worth the wait the first time. Might time my visits more carefully to avoid the wait in the future. No kids menu, but children are welcome.

The hamburger was good but $8 for a burger without fried seems a bit high. People stood in line to render their $8+ for a burger so I must be the only person that thinks it expensive to eat there. The wait staff were great, friendly, courteous and were always there to help.

Considering the line they had all evening, the service was very quick and fantastic. Everyone was really nice, I loved the atmosphere. Got tge parmesan garlic fries to share with the table, which was amazing. So worth trying. My burger was the goodnight good caise, minus the jalapenos, and it tasted heavenly! Even I was amazed to how fast I ate the whole thing. To drink I got their pineapple cider from Austin, which seems pricey at $7, but you get a lot for it. I tasted great, added to the summer feel of the day. Its such an awesome place, everyone was really nice and helpful, totally worth checking out :)

One of my favorite places in Dallas, Austin, or now in College Station! Great burger, whether you burn it out with an el Diablo or have the Classic. The Goodnight is named because you will fall asleep an hour after eating it. So many great choices! And the shakes are awesome too, whether you have them with alcohol or not. I think hopdoddy is better than Grub.

The burger itself was very tasty. I had the Buffalo burger, which wasn't too spicy but had enough kick. There was lots to choose from and everything is new. My husband thought the burgers were too pricey and too small. I couldn't finish my burger, but I thought the regular size fries were skimpy. The next size fry was $6, and I couldn't pay an appetizer price for something I consider a side order. We enjoyed ourselves, but Hopdoddy's is no Chris Madrid's.

Visited recently on a Thursday evening. Although busy, staff was pleasant and service adequate under the circumstances. We enjoyed a Classic Burger with bacon and cheese, the Magic 'shroom, the Goodnight, Good Cause, and especially delicious Parmesan truffle fries! Completed the meal with a salted caramel milkshake...yum! Definitely recommended when in the Northwest side of San Antonio!

The burgers, fries & salad were good as were the drinks. The server was attentive. There are happy hour specials on drinks & food

This is a perfect joint to visit for burgers and cocktails after a movie at the nearby Palladium. I came to this location today after visiting the ones in Playa Vista and River Oaks, and I liked it. So Hopdoddy has a good selection of Maine Root sodas and wine/cocktails. I tried the Bubbly Blonde wine cocktail with St. Germain, "sustainable" white wine, and lemon and orange. The Bubbly Blonde had a nice, light touch to it's taste, wasn't too strong, and came in a cute mason jar. I liked it. Also like the Doppelganger Maine Root sodas as well. My burger is the Terlingua burger, and it was very yummy. The chile con carne was not too spicy, and the burger was nice and juicy. The fries were pretty good here too. This location, for some reason, has an Airstream trailer on it's patio. Cute. Again, I recommend Hopdoddy for a hip burger meal, but be prepared to wait for a table and your meal.

Great hamburgers and ahi tuna burgers in a friendly atmosphere. Try the fries with parmesan cheese. Very good. Good selection of craft beers. Wife and I had the Orange Show brew from the Saint Arnold brewery. Nice light citrus hint would go great on a hot day. I recommend the burgers and brews.

Had lunch with 2 great friends from high school. Mind you we graduated almost 50 years ago - we’re seasoned! Heard good things about Hopdoddy but, as a consensus, we respectfully do not agree. Burgers were ordinary and overpriced. Hand cut fries were not hand cut. There are much better burger places around.

My friends and I visited Hopdoddy at the rim a few days ago and had a great time. Very friendly staff that were focused on service. The GM even came by to check on us at the table. Very nice touch and will be back soon for lunch!

Went to Hopdoddy's Burger Bar at lunch before shopping. Restaurant was okay - food over-priced for portion size, much better burgers available at other nearby places. Food was cooked fine but needed more seasoning. Service was good.

We stopped in here because we were in a hurry, I didn't even take time to check the rating on trip advisor. We really lucked out because it was one of the best burgers we have ever had. The fries were well seasoned and crunchy, just right. Ranch dressing was made in house, and a nice light kick to it. For what is basically a fast food burger joint HopDoddy exceeded expectations! We chose to eat outside, and with the large fan blowing it was quite comfortable, shady as well. If you don't mind the friendly company of the fine feathered friends it was very pleasant. The birds were present but they weren't obnoxious. We will be back!

The food was on point!! But the service was terrible! They ask for a tip before you even sit down. I had to refill my own drink (only halfway because the tea ran out)- then ordered extra lettuce and when it was dropped off halfway through my meal- the server walked off before I could speak to her. Then she never came back while I was eating. The extra lettuce had weird stuff smeared over it. The manager was talking to other employees the entire time by the bar (all had logo shirts on). When the server came back after I was completely done I told her about the lettuce and she laughed saying it must be guacamole or mustard?! Then said "have a good day" and walked away. ?!?😳 The guy at the register was drinking his drink while I was ordering, which I thought was weird- but whatever if he wasn't touching food. And then he did. He was adding silverware to plates and dropping food at tables WITHOUT WASHING HANDS! 😳 If the quality of the food in the kitchen would translate to the servers and the service then this place would be awesome. But if the managers don't care- hard to expect the staff to either. Bummer.

Food was very tasty although I would not recommend the milkshakes. Went for a Girls' Night Out on a Monday and it was jam-packed with a long line to stand in to order food. The sweet girl who walks the floor and covered our area that is not a server as she doesn't take orders or really pay much attention, well, didn't pay attention to any needs like a request for a glass of water (the line was to the door). I'm unsure what her job really is if there's no servers. Anyways, if you can get there during a not so busy time which I've heard is almost never (think b/c of location w/ tourists and UTSA), it's good. Otherwise, it's a bummer. I would not recommend taking kids as they'll starve. They also do not have enough seating - there was a 'table hold' while we were there and another girl (think she buses tables) that made a kind of grunting noise when realized we weren't leaving when she thought we were. Long story short, I don't want to go back even though the lamb burger (was told is leaving the menu anyways) and truffle fries were delicious.

I love the concept of a burger bar offering gourmet burgers made from the best cuts of beef!! The fries are crispy and well seasoned. My son-in-law really liked the craft beers. Great location for dinner before a movie at the nearby theater or shopping! Very family friendly !! Wonderful shakes too!! Inside and outside dining. Very popular place to dine.

We love this place! We've eaten at this newer location several times. Food and shakes are consistently awesome! You may have to wait in line for a sec, but nothing like the Austin locations.

I had their "classic Burger". Just ok, certainly not worth the price in my opinion.. My wife ordered the "Lil Doddy" single burger. Once again, just ok, not worth the price. Home made French fries were very good, had the order been a "heaping" amount in the bowl, rather than the large order of McDonalds fries size, I would have probably overlooked the average burgers. Price of the beers, while high, are right in line with "big city" prices. End result of our visit is a forgettable lunch, filled a empty hole in the stomach but not an restaurant I'd visit again

Having eaten at the popular Austin location several times, I was very excited to hear that Hopdoddy's was opening a San Antonio location in The Rim at La Cantera. I went a week after they opened and my expectations were exceeded! I ordered parmesan truffle fries, a Thunderbird (typically a chicken sandwich, but I substituted a beef patty), and a pretzel/Nutella milkshake. All three were fantastic! The service was great as well. I would suggest preparing for a wait, as Hopdoddy's is sure to become a very popular San Antonio eatery, especially when new movies are opening at The Palladium movie theater nearby.

I just had the classic hamburger but it was one of the best burgers I've had in years. I really appreciated that the bun did not become soggy and the whole burger held together very well. No paddy sliding out the side of the bun. They advertise using only the best Angus beef. My wife's Ahi Tuna burger, and another who had a bison burger also raved about their burgers. The fries were very delicious. The atmosphere was inviting and fine for children. We definitely would return if the opportunity arises.

San Antonio Rim- Worst experience ever! Fries were stale and chewy. My burger was served incorrect twice. Not a very difficult order lettuce wrap bacon, cheese, with pickles only. First time forgot cheese and they added condiments, second time they forgot the bacon, added tomato and onions. Ugh!!!! Needless to say my meal of stale chewy fries was not enjoyable.

This place is awesome and always has new burgers to try and great drinks to match! You can't go wrong here whether it is for lunch or dinner!

Poor parking..... had to walk along way and it was 4 in the afternoon.... Nice place , friendly service , Good food ...over priced !!

I actually ate at the newest Hopdoddy at 1604 and Blanco. I had the Buffalo Bill which had blue cheese, bacon and a spicy sauce. We shared French fries. This will be my new go to burger. Just wonderful if you love blue cheese. Grateful they opened a new place 5 min from my house. Very friendly staff and they made me a wonderful top shelf margarita.

Hip and trendy Austin burger joint invades San Antonio. We tried the lano Poblano and buffalo bill burgers with truffled Parmesan fries Both burgers were good but lacked the wow factor. The flavor of the meat was great but it was the only flavor. On both burgers the other ingredients weren't enough to enhance or input any flavor. The fries started out great but quickly became greasy as they cooled. The best thing about the burgers were it didn't way you down they were fresh and not greasy. I'd try it again

We tried out the Hopdoddy Burger Bar tonight. 3 of us split an order of the Truffle Fries, yeah you should try these. Their burger menu is vast, including veggie options, chicken or Ahi tuna, go spicy or plain, the choice(s) are yours. Also, a nice selection of beer, I myself had the Bugsy’s Amber Lager, was not disappointed. Enjoy

In fairness this is a fairly new establishment and we went at noon on a Saturday so maybe they have some kinks to work out and maybe they were just slammed with customers. There was a long line waiting to order and with only two cashiers the line didn't move very fast. When we did get to the cashier and put in our order I was surprised to find out we were assigned to a table. Unfortunately the table was beside the long line of people waiting to order so any conversation I wanted to have with my wife was clearly audible to the folks standing in line. You might say I should have just lowered my voice so they couldn't hear but that was not practical as the noise level in the facility was deafening. I just had the classic burger and fries. The burger was excellent and the service, once we ordered, was good too. The fries were good but 5 bucks for a quarters worth of fries was a little steep. Despite the crowd the place was clean and the staff was friendly.

Our first visit to hopdoddy and it became an instant favorite. The burgers are cooked to order and served hot the Buns are not too big and are lite. The service is excellent and the atmosphere is very nice. The ingredients are 100% angus meat has a good taste without being greasy. And the prices are very reasonable. An excellent choice for burgers

Great place for lunch with friends. Burgers and sandwiches are the delicious but the truffle fries are out of this world amazing.

There was little on this menu made without soy. Even the buns have soy. Why a 'natural wholesome' restaurant would make everything with soy flour or soy oil when the majority of soy is GMO is beyond me. Perhaps it is cheap. However, they were accommodating of the soy allergy and offered a burger without a bun. Some of the burgers had soy as did the Chipolte mayo. I had the bean burger which was very loose (more like it was pushed into a burger shape but wouldn't stay that way) but it was tasty. The fries were pretty greasy. The drinks were laden with ice. The staff was friendly and attentive.

First time visit for lunch -- and both of us already agree we'll make the 55 mile trip back just for their burgers. What we liked: - Small chain, based in Texas - Eclectic setting - chalkboards, high ceilings with exposed ducts, tall windows, nicely spaced tables - Emphasis on quality foods, locally sourced - Extensive menu (maybe too many choices!) - Quality! It's a bit different for service. Walk in and head to the counter to order, then take a number and the waitress brings your food - and is also the one to bring your bill. But that's fine -- very friendly waitress. She checked back just enough times. The food! We opted for one classic burger and one classic cheeseburger - plus a fry to share. - Freshly baked buns - flavorful and good texture - Accompaniments - fresh red bibb letttuce, onion, tomato (all optional) - Two fisted burger - just the right temperature and perfectly cooked. Juicy and great flavor. Ate every crumb! - Fries - served in a paper cone, excellent flavor, hot and crispy. Maybe a bit surprising that so many were in small pieces but they tasted good. Price - Not cheap but burger aficionados won't mind. For two burgers, one fry, one drink and tip it was under $25.00. The menu is so varied, we look forward to trying more items.

Their truffle fries have even more Parmesan, etc. on them than I’ve gotten at the Austin locations, which is wonderful. The bison burger was excellent, except for one important thing. I asked if the condiments come on the side. I don’t think the person taking my order understood my question. So I clarified —it won’t have any mayo or, right? He said no. But my burger came with sweet buffalo sauce on top of the meat and a small bit of mayo between the meat and the lettuce. This is a big deal for people who don’t like mayo. The Anderson Road Austin Hopdoddy has a condiment station and we can add from it if we wish, which perfectly prevents mistakes like this Rim Hopdoddy made. Please just have mayo and other condiments on a side bar. Most San Antonio restaurants are really good about this. Why not you?

OK so the set up: 1pm on a Saturday afternoon my sister and I decide to eat here. Easy decision not exactly easy to accomplish. Parking was tough but that's not their fault :-). Once inside, you are immediately met with the end of the line. You are in line to place your order. I worried that all the tables seemed filled and I hate having to vie for a table. LIke, I really don't like it. But first, we were met in line to check if perhaps we wanted something from the bar or perhaps a shake! That made me happy although we passed. We eventually made it to the front of the line which really didn't take too long so don't be discouraged. And right before we stepped up to order, a gal comes by and asks how many in our party and then assigned us a table!! Whew! No worries! I ordered the Llano Burger and my sister the Magical Mushroom (or something like that). We opted for the truffle fries and we both had a small bananas foster shake. The orders arrived in a decent amount of time. Now - the taste test. We had never been here before but everyone said this is the place to go to for burgers. They were NOT kidding. I hate a soggy bun. Check - no soggy here. I had dry burgers. Check - the burger was so dang juicy. I am not one for onions or tomatoes or lettuce but i opted for the full deal here. OMG - all of the condiments were soooo fresh and delicious. My sister loved her burger as much as mine. There wasnt a thing we would add to our burgers although they offer you mustard, mayo and ketchup at the table. The burger - just like it came - was the most delicious burger i had had in a verrry long time. The fries - geesh those fries - they were delicious and here is my tip - it is enough to feed 4 people. While they say it is a shareable - if it is just two of you, I doubt you will finish them. The shake? OMG - you actually taste the banana chunks - i kid you not. It was very sweeeeeeeet but very delicious. Im glad i did a small ... i think it might be too sweet for a large. But I highly recommend you order this puppy! It was a great meal. It was crowded but you could hear enough to talk without any issue. The table service was spot on. I will definitely be going back again and again and again!

This place is an elegant mix of new age burgers and the adults can have drinks to help cope with the kids...lol

The bun was so soft and the burger had great flavor. Was cooked well, if you prefer medium like I do might make sure you specify. I had the classic burger with the parmesan truffle fries, the one order of fries were probably enough for three people to share. Husband had the Goodnight/goodcause burger, it was very good as well.

Wonderful, high quality burger with an assortment of fresh toppings on homemade buns made daily. Good service for seating and any needs during dining, but you order your burger at a counter and get your condiments and sodas before your order arrives at the table. Relatively small restaurant that can be extremely busy with waits during prime times for lunch or dinner. Great fries, but overpriced, even though it is a large order if you order one of the specialty fries.

My wife and I have enjoyed Hop Daddy's in Dallas many times. This San Antonio location needs to try harder! My wife had the Thunderbird chicken burger and I had the Terlingua burger. Chicken was under cooked and my burger that was ordered "med well" was mostly raw . Fries consisted of 4 pieces 3 inches long and a bag of pieces ranging from 1/2 to 3/4 inch. Bits and pieces. Fries were limp and greasy as well. When our waiter was told, he apologized but did nothing to fix things. Additionally, there was no TP in the ladies bathroom and the lock on the stall door was broken. I can NOT suggest this location.

Hopdoddy recently opened its San Antonio location on April 25th in the Rim shopping center located across the highway from Six Flags Fiesta Texas. I ate at one of the Austin Hopdoddy locations quite often while I attended college, so I am not a newcomer to this restaurant. My friend and I decided to try the new location since she had never been before. We went around noon, which I recommend if you are looking to skip the line that is usually present later on in the day. We got our food quickly and it was absolutely delicious. We both had La Bandita, which is their vegetarian burger and my personal favorite. If you aren't into the vegetarian burger they offer a wide variety of burgers for you to choose from. If you decide to go later in the day you will probably have to wait in line for a little bit, but they have a bar that offers an assortment of delicious beverages. Once you are done with your burger I suggest making room for one of their amazing shakes! If you find yourself in the mood for a delicious burger, I suggest going to Hopdoddy. You won't be disappointed!

I came here for my birthday and one other dinner, and I still enjoy it. I like the Maine soda fountain, and the fries and burger were cooked to perfection. Also had a cookies 'n' cream milkshake as a birthday gift from the restaurant, and it was yummy!

Superb eatery with scrumptious boutique burgers and wonderful truffle fries or better yet honey sage sweet potato fries. Best bartender is John-Michael and always on his game.

great flavor, and excellent seasonal burgers, friendly staff, truly the best burgers in San Antonio, all natural and organic.

We were glad to stumble upon this burger place, it is a nice addition to the Cantera area. The place is nicely furnished for a fast food establishment with a casual yet nice look. You order the hamburgers as fast food in the counter, and then they served them to you at your table. We ordered 3 different hamburgers and all of them were delicious, the Poblano, the one with fritos which I don't remember the name and the Ahi Tuna. We couldn't stop eating the fries, they were amazing. We'll definitely go back again every time we visit San Antonio

This trendy burger joint is an import from Austin. It serves alot of locally sourced food but mainly its just an amazing burger! Though allow for plenty of time as it is very popular and can get crowded.

Delicious burgers with homemade buns, also have a gluten free bun for those that need it. I had the llano poblano burger- it was quite tasty after I got the waitress to get me additional chipotle mayo for it. The fries are awesome and the chipotle ketchup makes them even more amazing. There's a decent amount of beer on tap(local Texas beers) as well as other tasty offerings. I had their margarita on the rocks-quite decent. They also have milkshakes but didn't try them. They claim they make their own ice cream in house, so will need to return to try that! The only downside is the waiting in line to order but the staff brings you drinks while in line if you wish.

All type of burgers just pick one. Great place for lunch. Has a big menu. Just didn't get to try fries or drinks.

We stopped in and got burgers for $5 during social hour. We really liked the way that this place did the billing compared to Austin. You keep an open bill until the end of the meal.

Delicious burgers prepared and cooked to order. Staff was excellent and helpful. Cool vibe in the restaurant. Food was prepared promptly.

We recently visited after coming out of a movie . the line to order was all the way back to the door and only one register was open to take orders. The line moved s l o w . they had some people that would come to the long line and hand out chocolate shake samples and others would take beer and drink orders while we were in line . Why not have someone else take orders during this busy time ??? The kitchen staff was not busy at all as orders were trickling in . bad management and crowd control . when we ordered the order taker was also slow on processing the order . they really need to fix this , we must have been in line at least 20 min . the food did come out quick and our burgers and salad was top notch but the whole ordering process was a real let down . the long line never let up the whole time were there and the one register was causing a bottleneck the whole time . if you come , plan on waiting in line a while when there is a line .

Ate here a few times, always consistent, juicy, full flavor. The fries are terrific, highly recommend with your burger. The Ahi tuna is a favorite.

We ordered The Buffalo Bill Burger (bison burger with Apple-smoked bacon, blue jack cheese) and the Lamb burger (their daily special with feta cheese) were both very delicious, as were the fries. One person ordered a burger on their gluten free bun which was also very good. It tasted like freshly baked cornbread.

Went with friends for Girls Night Out and sat at a table at the bar. I cannot express how awesome Ben & Christian were. We never wanted for anything as they kept our glasses full (water, beer & mixed drinks) and we ordered through them so we didn't have to get in the line to do so! Food was fantastic! Was an awesome night! Thanks!

This restaurant when it opened has a lot of people standing and waiting to get in. The decor is very hip and the concept of grass fed burger is nice. However, the process to order and sit it feels scattered. You get in and get a menu,When you walk to plece the order, you already forgot what you want. I ordered the buffalo burger, was good. My wife ordered the prime time burger. She was not impress. The french fries are freaking awesome. You want to eat more. Burger was good but I had better for the same or less price.

The burger I had was the blue cheese burger with buffalo sauce. It was excellent. The sweet potato fries were crispy and perfect.

Picked up the wife from the airport and went through the usual "where will we have lunch torture"..... She remembered we wanted to try Hopdoddy and we hustled right over there. Timing was good. We got there between rushes. Their system is a little different. Place your order at the counter and then retreat to your assigned table where a member of the waitstaff caters to your need from then on. It worked. The burgers were ..........awesome! Veeerrry flavorful and done perfectly as were the fries which we like extra crispy. They have a long list of burger combos but I chose to "build my own" which was not problem. Very friendly staff and very accommodating. They also have a full bar and serve their beer in a frosted mug. Can't wait to go back.

Great to come during happy hour . Burger fry & drink specials . If the weather is nice enjoy the patio

Most definitely a delicious Goodnight burger! (Personally had to skip the jalapenos.) I LOVE the truffle fries with garlic aioli!!! Casual atmosphere and great service too!

One of the most delicious burgers I had in US! Despite the long line (aprox 40 people) the staff was great offering menus to decide your order and the bar availability to have a drink while waiting !

We had a very good experience at Hopdoddy's - excellent burgers cooked to perfection. This is an important distinction since I like my burgers medium-rare and my wife likes her's well done - Yuuk!. Nevertheless, Hopdoddy's managed to please us both plus both burgers arrived at the same time. Onion Rings and Fries were excellent as were the bar drinks we ordered. Maybe the best burger in San Antonio,

We ordered the truffle fries and they arrived piping hot and were delicious. A couple minutes later our two burgers arrived. They were stone cold. The meat tasted like it had been previously cooked, and then they try to warm it up again. Very disappointing experience. We will not be coming back.

I had the Bandita burger last visit and said I would review this restaurant again once I had a meat burger. Oh my goodness, it was good! I had the Magic Shroom burger cooked medium well and the patty was juicy and delicious. I loved the goat cheese and pesto combo and just savored every bite. Try this place!

The line when we visited was out the door but since we were meeting family we decided to stuck with it because with this many people waiting the food would probably be good right? The burgers we ordered were small and dry. My husband ordered a burger that came with fritos and chili on it. Only 2 fritos were on it and the chili was this weird patty that was stiff. Saving grace was the homemade milk shakes but for the crazy prices we paid, I won't visit again for that little of food.

Was looking forward to lunch at Hopdaddy's. My friend has a difficult time walking so parking was a big disappointment as was the long wait in line to order. Burgers were good but not worth the price. All things considering, we can get a quality burger, cheaper and with a lot less hassle at other places in town.

Food: I ordered the “El Diablo” burger with handcut fries. I asked the young lady how the patties were seasoned, she just stared at me and admitted she didn’t know. I asked her to not season the patties with salt, and she made a note. The fries were very hot with steam rising from them. They were seasoned with salt, pepper, and parsley. The fries were okay but nothing special. The “El Diablo” burger was cooked perfectly as ordered. The bun was well toasted. The chipotle mayo was very tasty, but the ration of mayo was too small. The caramelized onions were delicious. The serrano and habanero peppers were just tossed on the patty and not cut properly. It was just a pocket of chills. I had to cut them and disperse them on the patty myself. The peppers appeared to be an after-thought. Location: This Hop Doddy is located in the Rim on La Cantera at the end of a strip building. The parking in front of Hop Doddy is very limited, but there is some behind near the theater or across the street closer to Charming Charlie. There is alot of construction within the Rim with some roads closed. This location has a very narrow interior with a bar off to the side, and an outdoor dining area for when the weather is cooler. The concrete floors does make it a bit loud. Hostess: Greeted promptly and was told no tables available when I arrived at noon. The hostess suggested that I get in line and get my food and a table would become available. After five minutes in line without the line moving, the hostess gave me a slip of paper with my table assignment. Overall cleanliness: Above average Bathroom cleanliness: Average

Two burgers ordered "medium well" came out rare. Burger ordered rare came out very rare. Fried were perfect, shakes were perfect. Appreciate that they have fresh jalapenos. Always need those with my burger. $48 for three people... eh.

This new restaurant has had people standing in long lines to get in. Part of the reason for the line, is the way the restaurant is set up. You walk in the door and stand in a line while waiting for one person to take your order. The menu's are placed at the beginning of the line so you can decide what you want as you wait. They give you a piece of paper with your table number and name on it after you order as well as your drink glasses. You get your drink and sit down and wait. They have a wait staff that comes and asks if you need anything such as condiments. They also have someone bring you the food. The burger was ok. Not great and certainly not large by any stretch of the imagination. There were three of us. We ordered 2 burgers, a large order of fries and 3 soda's. The bill came to $ 38.00 plus change. That did not include tip. We had a basic burger with cheese and bacon and the second burger was the jalapeno burger. The fries were overcooked and luke warm . You pay the bill at the table. The seating is limited during the hot months because no one wants to eat outside in 100 degree temps. You can go around the corner to Stonewerks, get a larger burger, someone who comes and takes your order, no long line and far less congestion. We were there at 3 p.m. in the afternoon and it was still a slow process.

I had a basic burger which was delicious . You can get just about anything you want on it, some great combinations available . Full bar, good crafted beers. French fries good too! I have been twice in a week and will make it a regular stop. The burgers are a bit on the rare side so order accordingly . My friends lamb burger was also undercooked . They corrected mine when I told server and also didn't charge me.

Sometimes you go on a quest looking for the best of something. Like a burger for instance. It can be a hit or miss or something in between. Hopdoddy Burger Bar at The Rim in San Antonio is a hit for me. I love a well cooked patty (not well done) that when you bite into it, juice falls out the back and runs down you hands. Messy yes, but well worth the cleanup. Hopdoddy burgers are just what I want when I go for a burger. And they have so many different dressings, you will never get bored. My fave is the Llano Poblano with a Tex-Mex flair. It's the fresh seared Poblano peppers and the chipotle aioli that give this burger a great flavor. Hopdoddy also has a full service bar with a handfull of signature cocktails that are very tasty. And the milkshakes are a must if you can swing the calories. Everything is made fresh daily here. Even the meat is ground fresh. Oh, and don't forget to get the hand cut fries with the Green Chile Queso for dipping. I love that stuff!

My wife and I stopped in for a late lunch. I had the Prime Time with Parmesan fried both of which were outstanding! My wife had the Llano Poblano burger which she also thought was great. This place is always packed, but a little too noisy.

First, we went here based on Trip Advisors four circle rating and we were not disappointed. My son wanted burgers for his birthday dinner so burgers he got. They have one classic burger and the rest are really good trendy burgers. My son got the buffalo burger which he scarfed down like nobodies business. I got the prime time burger with the cheese on the side after the host recommended that it might over power the flavor. It didn't but it was a nice option. The meat was delicious, they say it ground in house and you can really taste the difference. My wife had the lamb burger that was really good but the lamb taste is strong. Of course we had the truffle fries...I highly recommend an order or two for the table. The service is fair, they have a you order in the back get assigned a table and the team brings out your food. It seemed to work out fine. They had really cool soda flavors not the soda machine from most all other restaurant. I recommend the vanilla cream. The entire group enjoyed the atmosphere and fellowship. It's a trendy place that I hope grows and moves with the times. I will be going back!

The Classic hamburger lives up to its name. The patty is amazing: juicy and beefy. Best burgers! Get the green chili queso with your fries...it's so good.

Okay, let's start with the burgers. Beautifully cooked and served on the perfect brioche bun. Truly a marvelous burger. You will find great burgers all over the country, some that even taste this good...but I doubt you'll find one better. Now, the organization: really busy places are daunting and generally keep me away. I do not have the desire to fight throngs of people as they squeeze into a small joint for unhealthy food. Well, Hopdoddy has taken this excuse away by having you order from a line and then they ASSIGN you a table. How cool is that? No waiting or fighting for a table. You go to the one assigned and a server brings your food to you there. Great idea. I will be back!

Have gone there since they opened. Service has declined: for tonight I stood in line for an hour Only one register opened and when asked why they sai they could not help get through the orders. Meanwhile you can call in your order. Boy do I feel stupid. Why would I bother to stand. Food is good though.

Burgers were great! Very creative varieties and the selection of craft beer is awesome. I recommend the nutella pretzel shake.

Visited Hopdoddy for lunch with 2 longtime friends. We meet bi-weekly and try new places to the 3 of us. We were uniformly unimpressed. The burgers, Angus, were bland tasting and over cooked. The fries are billed as hand-cut but appeared to be quite uniform and very skinny. Hand cut? At $15 for a burger, fries, and tea it’s not an inexpensive lunch. More so, it’s very overpriced for an ordinary meal. Our group agreed - no need to return.

Really chill atmosphere with really good beer, really good burgers and fries. Everything tastes fresh and crisp. An enthusiastic wait staff is there to greet you and communicates well. Quick to get you your drinks and refills. Highly recommend for a quick bite or a date night.

Atmosphere was typical burger joint, loud, with a different way of doing business as a table was assigned depending on the size of the customer's group, then you stood in line to place your order. had a good experience, but probably will not return, as the condiments could have been better which would have improved the taste experience.

We hit Hopdoddy for an early lunch on a Friday and good thing we did. The place quickly filled with lunch goers. We were quickly waited on and told how the whole process works. Found our seats and soon enough the food and delicious shake found it's way to our table. The young man who waited on us was very attentive. I ordered mine without the bun - carbs you know. My wife said the bread was very good. HINT: Go early as it gets busy quickly!

We came on Super Bowl Sunday for a buy-one-get-one-free special. We had a fabulous visit, the food was fantastic, and we introduced a new Patron to the fabulousness of this restaurant. We got the Primetime Burger, the mushroom and Swiss burger, and a poblano burger with truffle fries and the special Shake. We also got one of the salads which was just fantastic. If you're questioning whether not to give this place a try, you're thinking too hard and just go!

Truffle fries are the best I've ever tried! Tuna burger is amazing, very unique and light! I liked the relaxed atmosphere. You order everything yourself first at the counter but you still have a server. Feel came out in less than 10 min! Staff is very friendly!

The burger choices are fantastic and the draft selection is very good. The green chilli queso fries are highly recommended as is the 512 Pecan Porter.

We had heard about this place for some time now. On a Thursday night we found ourselves in the Rim after some shopping and decided to grab a burger before going home. We found the place with a little luck and after peering inside decided to give it a try at 8:30 pm. There was a short line to order at the counter. Someone came along and offered us a menu which helped when we finally arrived at the counter after a 10 or so minute wait. I decided to try the prime burger and my partner chose the magic shroom. My partner asked for a diet coke/pepsi only to find out all they offered in colas was the Mexican diet coke which she was not particularly thrilled. I opted for my usual ice tea and it was as good as ever. I prefer it unsweetened and no lemon/lime. They assigned us to a table in a fairly empty restaurant which we found easily - they have big numbers on the table to help find it. Our food came in a reasonable amount of time considering it is all made fresh and the waiter offered to refill our drinks. We had ordered the large fries and it was larger than we could eat. We had asked the waiter to bring us catsup which he did in two small cups. The fries are cut in the restaurant which was most likely true. They claim to ground their own hamburger from special beef. We both pronounced the burgers really good as well as the voluminous fries. The patio was some what full of younger adults in what appeared to be college students. I can imagine at times the place can be really full. We will try it again but on off hours to avoid the crowds. They did offer micro brews on tap and had a small bar.

Tried this place out for lunch today. Had heard so much about it since it opened. Not sure what all the hype was about. Burger was average. Meat had no flavor. Burger was greasy and bottom bun got soggy. Ordered a regular side of fries to go along with my burger. I must have gotten the last of the batch as I had mostly little bits & pieces. They were super salty. The restaurant was cramped. Every time someone walked by my table, I was worried they were going to knock something over. Another review mentioned a fruit fly issue. Saw a lot of them there. Might be back if I am in the area, but won't go out of my way for it.

This place was amazing. The parmesan French fries were seasoned to perfection and the banana fosters shake was better than sex...like frfr. My husband is vegan so he ordered the impossible burger and said it was equally delicious. They make everything fresh and grown locally. It’s really good for a family meal.

We had eaten at Hopdoddy in Austin one time and enjoyed the food. Typically, the San Antonio location is very busy, with long wait times, longer than we were willing to hang around. Today, however, we had no wait and ordered our burgers and much remembered Parmesan Truffle Fries. I had the classic and my wife the Terlingua. There was little wait and somewhat attentive server assistance. The burgers were prepared correctly, with mine medium (pink center) and my wife's medium well. The seasoning in these burgers is sensational, and the fries are a stand out feature for this place. There was a bit more grease than I would have liked to see, with otherwise nice buns being soaked. Overall, however, this is a great place to come every so often for the burger, but especially the wonderful fries.

This location is in the Rim shopping mall off of I-10 in San Antonio. They have fresh beef burgers that are a 2-fist size, fresh buns and condiments and a really sizable portion of their own fries. The menu has many variations but I ordered take-out and just got the plain burger. It was packaged well and included the condiments I requested. The price may be a tad more than expected, but this was worth it.

One of the best burgers around. When in town we always stop by. The truffle fries on the side are the best!

The best burgers in San Antonio and Austin area !! Really great. Truffle fries are the best ! And just point your finger at any burger, they are all worth trying. There is always a long line so be patient, that is proof of what a good place to est burgers this is 👍. Keep it up "hopdoddy" 👏

A family favorite. Come in 3-5, m-f if you can, 5$ specials on special burgers, dudes and drinks. Great variety of burgers. Truffle fries are awesome. The primetime is great. The tuna is a great alternative. Hip place.

Worst burger ever. Fries were cold, service slow, and bun was old. What a waste of $18 and tip. Price was was ala carte for cheese. Nothing good about this food.

Heard all about the impossible burger ... wanted to try a ALL veggie protein burger which mirrored meat, none of the cholesterol... and wonderful for the environment... must admit, amazing! Taste 10, bite 8, filling 10 ... service, slow for lunch 5 ... but amazing fresh baked bun, fries lemonade ... also tried juicy and flavorful turkey burger too!

I was at this restaurant the first year it was in business, my meal was awesome, today I ordered the exact same meal, and it was the worst ever. The only thing good were the sweet potatoe fries. My chicken sandwich had wilted soggy lettuce, the avocado was tasteless as was the chicken. They said it came with cheese, it was so minimal. The pico de gallo was an off color and overwhelming onion smell, I asked the waiter to take if off the table. The bun was fine. The biggest disappointment was the Milkshake. I ordered Vanilla no whipped cream. It was $6.50 for a medium sized clear plastic cup. Whatever was inside the cup, was not an ice cream milk shake. It was a very yellow color, not cold, cool to room temperature and very thin. They put whipped cream on top. I sent it back a replaced it with a beer, which was good, but $6.00 for a mug. They never offered the 50cent difference, not a big deal, just bad manners. As I was eating lunch I saw the staff refilling the milkshake machine. They were pouring that yellow stuff they call a vanilla shake out of a plastic bag into the machine. It resembled pancake batter. Not sure what that product is, but it was nasty tasting and not ice cream consistency. I no longer recommend this restaurant. A chicken Sandwich and milkshake came to $18.00. My friend ordered the fries on her order. Overpriced, overrated, just plain not good.

I finally stopped in Hopdoddy after hearing all the hype about it for the past few years. I refuse to stand in a half hour line for a burger, but one night I was walking near one a little late, so there was no line and I decided to try it. The flavor of the burger was fine. Not outstanding, but fine. However, the burger itself was too small. I left still a little hungry, which should never happen in a burger joint. I'm not in any hurry to go back, even without a line.

I went to this burger restaurant because I had heard really good comments . They were all true. Definitely try them ... Thy are the Fuddruckers reloaded !! Nice beer frozen jars. Really worth the wait.

Bison burgers, good variety, wonderful fries, and nice location at The Rim. A bit pricey and long waits nights and weekends. Indoor seating not conducive to parties greater than 4.

My wife & I were visiting our son in San Antonio & we wanted to try a burger restaurant. They said we should go to Hopdaddy. I was thrilled with all the options as each of us chose a different burger. Each of the burgers was delicious & the fries were awesome. I'd look for a Hopdaddy any time in the area for a terrific meal & experience. It was a pretty quick experience once we got through the line. The servers were very helpful as well.

It took 55 minutes to deliver the order, when the burgers arrived, not a single one was hot, the meat was very overcooked, the taste of the meat was very bad, this is not what it was before.

This place is worth the wait. I arrive early if you want to avoid but the burger and OMG those truffle fries are amazing. Must get the fries.

Use to be my favorite hamburger place in SA but after seeing how dirty the floors, tables and even the wall next to our table was ( splattered) with gunk I won’t be going back. Hamburger was not up to par either. Told the manager yet very dissatisfied with my visit.

Good casual restaurant. You are assigned a table number on arrival, step up to the counter to order, then find your table and wait for the food to be delivered. The food was delivered quickly, was hot and very good. Burgers were cooked to order and were juicy. These are not large burgers, but are filling. A large order of Fries means "very" large and probably too many for a single person. There is a bar menu which serves craft and conventional beers, plus other alcoholic drinks. Non alcoholic drinks are also available from the usual drinks dispenser.

Pretty popular place at the Rim. Lines can be long on weekends after 5:00 p.m. But, they move pretty well. There is an outside patio that can be noisy. Food is good, organic and a little bit on the pricey side.

This is our 4th time here and we are still loving the freshness and the burgers are good. Eventually we will have mastered the whole menus. Don't get me started on those fries. Soooo good. The price is not bad either.

I am writing this review to warn fellow diners about a recent visit to the Hopdoddy Restaurant at The Rim in San Antonio. The experience was nothing short of disappointing, and I urge anyone reading this to think twice before stepping foot in this establishment. First and foremost, the burger was sub par. It was a far cry from the mouthwatering burger hoped for. The overall quality of the food was underwhelming, to say the least. But it wasn't just the food that left a sour taste. The service was equally disappointing. The management team lacked the appropriate responsiveness when we raised concerns about the theft that occurred at our table. Yes, you read that right. A wallet was stolen from the table. The manager, Shawn, was quickly informed about the incident. However, his initial response was far from helpful. He showed little concern about the situation and failed to take immediate action. It was disheartening to see Hopdoddy's lack of urgency in addressing the issue. Hopdoddy (Mr. Joseph Joyer, General Manager and Mr. Mike Steele, Hopdoddy Regional Director of Operations) said they had "cameras" that they could review and share with us to confirm what happened .... Then after weeks of trying to gather footage, they claimed that the cameras were non-operational so they could not prove what happened at the table. What a load of you know what! Ha! Furthermore, I feel compelled to warn potential visitors about the crime rate in the area surrounding this restaurant. It is advisable to check the crime statistics before venturing to The Rim. Unfortunately, it seems that thefts at this location are underreported, adding to the sense of insecurity one might feel while dining here. In light of this terrible experience, we kindly request that you avoid Hopdoddy at The Rim. There are plenty of other establishments in San Antonio that offer superior food, service, and a safer dining environment. Spare yourself the disappointment and choose wisely. Please note that this review is based on our personal experiences and reflects our honest opinion.

You order at the counter and then sit at your assigned table. You pay your server when you are finished. My husband couldn't get enough of the green chili queso. He even dipped his burger in it. I had the bandita and it was flavorful. I especially liked the goat cheese and cilantro pesto. The bean/corn patty did crumble apart when I ate it. Next time I will try a meat patty. The shakes were amazing! We will return!

Im from Dubai and it was my first time to try hopdaddy with my mother as I heard a lot about it but it was really nothing special.. as my mother was getting into her second half of the burger she found a long hair thread inside the beef patty which was disgusting . So the waitress called the manager and he came with the refund of Only the burger , I told well it’s my first time here so that he would understand that I’ll probably never come back but yet he just simply said “ sorry and here’s your refund”. Well we’re human and yes mistakes could occur but you should do better than that , if I was a manager or owned a restaurant I would have waived the whole bill which was 30$ including tip and get some compliments . He should have came first apologized and told us he will make sure this would never happen again. I just felt disgusted from the place and I just didn’t like how they dealt with this issue. Thanks for the hospitality 👍

Hasn't been open long, but if my first experience is any indication they will be around for a long time! They do everything on premise. Grind their beef daily, make the bread/rolls, hand cut the fries. If you’re looking for a burger, this is your place, they have beef, bison, turkey, ahi tuna and even a black bean-corn. And some great looking salads, on the menu. Then throw in their crafted beers, shakes and I really enjoyed the fresh squeezed ginger lemonade. The line to order was long when I got there but it moved fast and the workers let you you’d be taken care of. They have indoor and outdoor seating. All in all I recommend this place for any burger lovers.

Went on Sunday, father's day, just after opening, they we very busy. We opted to sit at the bar. the bartender was attentive and kept checking on us. The order of tuffled fries was huge, definitely enough for 2 people, really good! the burgers were excellent although the kitchen did get some toppings wrong, our order was correctly placed by the bartender. Will go back, just be prepared to wait!

I've had lunch and dinner at Hopdoddy's. Some visits were business related and most of them have been family visits. The burgers are fantastic and I love their truffle fries. It's a place where I know my boys are going to be happy :) Just be aware that this is a "wait in line to order, then find a table restaurant". It is often very busy.

This place is impressive on many levels. Delicious, well seasoned burgers. A solid burger menu with just enough variety. Extremely pleasant and friendly crew members. Amazing milkshakes. And a self serve fountain drink soda dispenser with many great flavors. And don't forget that everything is made fresh and locally sourced. The fries are only so-so, but with everything else on the spectacular side, so-so fries get a free pass. We opted for sharing the burger which, for lunch, was fine because the burgers are on the generous side size-wise. A definite repeat.

The burgers my husband and I got were some of the best we've ever had, along with the amazingly delicious garlic parmesan fries. We would definitely eat here again for the yummy food. The only bad thing about this place that we did not like was that, after having to stand in line to place your order (which we definitely didn't mind) and get your own drinks and condiments, a waiter then comes over to your table and says "I'll be taking care of you today." What the what? We just stood in line for 15 minutes to order (and not even pay yet) and got our own drinks and condiments. He told us if we needed more refills or condiments to let him know. We waited 20 minutes for our food, never saw our "waiter" again, and had to get up and get our own refills and condiments when we needed more. Our waiter did not show up again until he brought us our bill. And then we are expected to tip this "waiter." Seriously? I don't think so. The ONLY thing he did was tell us he was our waiter. To sum up, we would go here again because of the delicious burgers and fries; but how about you just have the customer pay when they order and completely eliminate the "need" for these "waiters."

I had the breakfast burger, fries, and Nutella shake..., burger was amazing! I was disappointed by the shake though. The service was great, but food kind of pricey. $18.35 for those 3 itemd

Good burgers and Parmesan truffle fries. I order the prime time burger and thumbs up! Little crowded but family friendly. Enjoy!

This was my first visit to Hopdaddy. Fast service, pleasant staff, great food! Loved the trendy atmosphere.

I like Hopdoddy and find myself recommending a "chain" restaurant (which makes me cringe .just a bit...) . They have a good burger (but I opt for the Tuna option since it's AWESOME), they have truffle-fries that rock and they have 512 Pecan Porter - FTW We've become friends with one of the servers and find that nearly everyone there are friendly and very helpful. They have some sort of nutella milkshake that I would order everytime (if I were training for a marathon or into competitive sew-sawing) I sometimes order extra truffle fries to make breakfast taco with (guessing only texans will get the idea..)e

It took me two tries to check out the Hopdoddy's Experience. Went to Austin TX but the line was ridiculous! Second try was in San Antonio...decent line too, but doable! Totally worth it...the staff was awesome, the food was great, the atmosphere excellent and prices were OK! Can't complain, I just recommend you not to go on the peak hours, it might frustrate you! Anyhow, check it out and enjoy one of the best burgers in San Antonio (Top 5!), a nice cold Beer or a Chocolate Shake...Cheers!
Incredible Food; Long Wait-Time
I love this place! I love that it's farm to market and has some unique offerings. My only major complaint with Hopdoddy has always been the wait-time, which seems to always be at least 15 minutes but typically is closer to 30-45+. The food is ready reasonably fast, so at least you're not waiting forever after you finally order. I've had quite a few burgers that were almost all stellar! I've had the Good Night, the Classic (multiple times), the Primetime and maybe one or two others. The Primetime was my least favorite but still pretty good. The fries and green chili queso are so, so good! They're enough to share between several people. I have yet to try any of the shakes but I might have to on the next go-round!
