Great brewpub. The beer selection has a nice selection of local brews as well as others. Service was good. Really enjoyed the mussels. Lots of mussels and fries. The sauce was mildly spicy..yum. Appetizers were also good.

Hopfields is a hidden neighborhood gem, that while near UT, feels more like you are in a French/British Pub. They have a reasonably priced yet delicious brunch. Evening menu changes however they always have a quality beer or wine to partner with it. They pride themselves on the beer selection. The staff is polite, hospitable and efficient. Great place for a laid back date.

Fabulous Pascal burger with gherkins, Camembert, and onions. Comes with a side of great herbed fries and aioli. A fine selection of craft beers on tap from all over the US. Definitely worth a stop if you love burgers and/or beer. Take a seat, order from the bartender and enjoy!

The food is very hit or miss. Escargot dumplings a hit. Mussels were terrible unless you really enjoy pepper paste with a side of mussels. But much worse than the food was the service. Parts of our order went missing. We then had to track down our waitress to get our dessert. And no apology for things going missing either.

You can enjoy Hopfield's in a couple of ways: the up-front bar area seems like a grad-student/faculty pub area with group tables and a noisy bar area. But, head to the back for some quiet tables and you're in a totally different space. This is where we like to enjoy dinner. Pretty wide-ranging menu, with a wonderful burger, terrific steak and frites, pasta specials, and more. The menu seems to change pretty regularly, but the core items are always there. Everything that I've had that involved their sausage, which I think they make, has been terrific. Simple wine list and a pretty stunning beer menu. Good place for a group outing or a romantic dinner. Those kinds of places are rare, and appreciated.

When I first went to Hopfield's over a year ago, it having been recommended by my French teacher, I was thrilled to find a French cafe in Austin. It offered quiche, baguette sandwiches, salads, soups etc accompanied by a carefully selected group of matching wines, for lunch...exactly what I love midday. Visiting last week, it could not have been more changed: beef sandwiches, all standard American fare, and the bar tender suggested we have a beer. Ok...I admit it...we left. However, it you just want an ordinary Texas lunch and a beer, this is the place for you. Management must have changed!

Terribly disorganized from the moment we stepped into the restaurant. After 1.5 hours, we were still waiting on our entrees and nobody had any clue as to what was going on. When we said that we wanted to pay our bill and leave before the entrees came, our server threw our check at us. You deserve better service and food. It's Austin - trust me, you will find it.

It was our first time here for all 5 of us and we had a great time! The food was great, there was a big selection of beers, even non-alcoholic and very nicely decorated! Our server Rocksand was amazing helping us choose and being kind and friendly 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 we will have to come back for the dessert!!

Enjoyed the drinks. That's why you go. Chill vibes and music. The eggs, no. The avocado toast, how can you mess that up? Not my place. Overrated.

Wonderful bistro food, simple menu. House made pate and pickles were wonderful. Cream Brulee was to die for!!

It has become very popular to look for a place on Sunday mornings with an elaborate brunch. Lots of choices at a buffet, omelet makers, Bloody Mary stations, etc. May I suggest an alternative experience? Hopfields. I had a delicious Eggs Benedict, but also could have a choice of 30+ beers on tap. Very accommodating to my daughter's desire to have a vegetarian experience. Great place.

I hesitate to write a good review. I love this place and don't want it to be so packed I can't get in. Of course, they have a great and ever changing menu of craft beers. The wine list may be short, but it's really nice. But the food? The food is so good. From the cheese plate to the olive and nuts appetizer to the chicken to the mussels and fries. Just good food. If you sit outside or in the bar area, you order at the bar and they deliver the food to your spot. There are tables in the back that have table service, I think. But all the action is in the bar area. On a recent Friday night, it was crowded but not packed. Plenty of room for two folks at one of the family style tables. They are very helpful in choosing among the beers. The server explained the cheeses on the plate. The mussels were enough to share. And the chocolate tart was a great ending to the evening. I will go back for sure.

We went at 4:30 on a Monday through the back entrance. The patio back there is a gravel paved area with picnic tables with zero ambiance. Labyrinth to the front on Lamar, which as reviewed, the front is a hole in the wall. Not a problem. After spending 1 month in Bordeaux 2 years ago I wouldn't characterize this as a French bistro as the general manager-type person explained. She was lovely but we had a different POV. It does borrow from the French attitude of indifference. The bartender apparently was new and was being trained on how to uncork my Malbec. Painful to watch. He was upfront stating he wasn't a wine expert, after all this is a brew pub. Fair point. Go for that. My issue is with an $84 lunch bill where you have to order at the bar self-service style. Really? The stand out was the Moules Frites/PEI mussels / white wine / chile flake / garlic / pommes frites / aioli - 22. No chile flakes but an abundance of paprika, strange but delicious. The burger, which we ordered rare, came out medium as a waste of a very thin patty. The brioche bun was good. Skip it. The star was the carbs. I love frites. My husband claimed the sake bloody mary was the best ever. The issues: rooms need a cleaning, service lacks, and $84 tab for a hamburger, 10 mussels, 2 glasses of wine, and a sake bloody mary. My advice to 3 Forks for the best burger, fries, onion rings, and better priced beverages.

Menu rendered selections that made you want a smattering of everything listed! The Chef(s) at Hopfields know how to please your palate. Duck Rueben and BLT was our choice. Generous portions. Interesting bistro-ish/lounge-ish restaurant.

Great new place on Guadalupe just north of the University. It's small with outstanding atmosphere but you must come with the attitude that you the customer must do your share in making the evening great. And then it certainly will be! Probably best to come before 6:30pm if you don't want to hang around waiting for a space to stand! Always seems crowded -- here's the drill: first you look for a place to sit or stand; then you get in line to order at the bar -- extensive beer list. very limited wine list (try the Portuguese red), and delightful drinks made sans liquor ( 75 Years in Provence is highly recommended). They have a limited menu of pub food and small plates with a French flavor. You need to find your own silverware and napkins from boxes on the tables, but getting your own water provides an opportunity to size up the display of old small photos from the 30's or 40's. Overall just a great place to hang out in the north University neighborhood in Austin.

We've been in Austin for a week now and eaten in some great places but none quite as good as this. Seated straight away, our Borat lookalike waiter was perfect. Knew about all the food and even more about the drinks. We decided to share the Fois Gras, we were informed it was from a well looked after goose, farm fed. This was the best thing I'd eaten all holiday. All four of us agreed. This was washed down with some great craft beers. For main course, it was burgers all round apart from me, I chose the house special, duck, so glad I did. The burgers were amazing but the duck was to quack for, I mean die, sorry One last mention for our waiter, very funny guy. Tip him well :-)

A friend brought me here while I was in Austin for a conference. I like the different seating areas - bar, tables, etc. We sat at the outside back patio. Good selection of interesting beers - Had an IPA - tasty! And yes, the mushroom leek tart - that was the best part! I was expecting typical bar fare, but was pleasantly surprised.

At a glance, the exterior doesn't look like e typical pub but once inside, the selection of beers and cozy setup instantly felt like the neighborhood public house. With that being said, for my 1st visit, it felt a little confusing with a French menu, some modern industrial design elements and sprinkles of home accents in this restaurant /pub with a giant sports screen display. In the end, the beer selection was good, the staff was nice, and the burger I had with aioli and fries was tasty. It would help if the menu printed could be more legible but overall, a pleasant experience.

We had a great burger and beer here. It can be a bit loud inside, but the food and service were great. We'll definitely be back.

From Guadalupe Street, only the pub area is visible, which led us to doubt whether this was really a restaurant. It's both a pub (in front) and a restaurant (in the back), and the restaurant area was intimate and had both traditional and eccentric touches. We had gazpacho and steak tartare as appetizers, and both were excellent. The rack-of-lamb entrée could provide a bit more meat. The tomato tarte entrée came with only salad greens, which was a disappointingly plain side. (At least the greens were not common lettuce.) Each entrée was good. Overall, this was a nice visit, and this establishment will be on my list when I'm seeking a light-to-moderately sized dinner in the area just north of campus.

Hopfields is a bit of a contradiction. Bar and tv boisterousness in one area, good dining in an informal series of rooms behind the entrance. The food was satisfying, with generous portions and well-spiced, unusual combinations. I had the chicken, which was enough to feed three people. Good value, good service.

I love the interior and atmosphere at this place, with the lovely wooden tables and fully equipped bar. It has more that atmosphere of a 'gastro pub' that you might get back in England. I had the Nicoise salad which was really enjoyable but perhaps a little bit too simple for the price- I would have liked some more tuna or just a bit more food in general, it just felt a little bit too minimal but it was really tasty nevertheless. We enjoyed watching sport on the projector screen, which is a much nicer way to watch programs at a restaurant instead of the glaring, bright tv screen that most places have. Would recommend for a few drinks and snacks but probably wouldn't come back for food as I don't see it as the greatest value for money.

Some time to kill on a football Sunday, but wanting to take advantage of the fine beer & food in town, I sought out this highly recommended spot & was not disappointed. Farm to table type comfort food, and a constantly changing tap list of hard to find brews. Samples from across the globe but especially novel beers from around Texas. A fantastic staff willing to debate with each other & clients about the merits of the more unusual brews. Worth a visit!

Pros: - Great atmosphere, make sure to get a table in the back, as the front was very noisy - Great drink menu, including tons of craft beer, wine, cocktails - Good selection of food, portion sizes were pretty good Con: - Limited menu, take a look before you go

The "pub" part is brilliant - a constantly changing/updated selection of beers, that they staff is more than happy to discuss with you in crazy depth. The "gastro" part is really quite good. The food isn't spectacular, but *is* quietly consistent, the type of place that you come back to over and over again. The wait-staff is friendly to a fault, and more than happy to spend time discussing, well, anything with you :-)

I simply adore Hopfield's. Some of the best food in Austin. Simple French dishes and an amazing craft beer selection. The mocktails (made with port, sake etc) are the best in the city. I also cannot say enough positive things about the staff. They truly value your business and are driven for you to have the best quality food and drink possible. Great service. One of my favorite places in Austin! It is the perfect place to stop by on a Sunday afternoon and just relax. Love Hopfield's!

great beer, well done menu, the kind of place you want to spend time with friends. Staff is motivated and fun. The burger was magnificent.

I've been to this restaurant twice and it s always been a great experience! They have a ton of beers which is great for beer lovers! I had the salade nicoise and it s always great. The only disappointing this is that they put 2 small pieces of seared tuna on the top. I feel like since the salad is pretty big, we should be getting more than those 2 pieces of tuna. My friends always get the pascal burger and apparently it s delicious! Especially the fries. If you're just wanting a snack, the cheese and charcuterie plates are great for 3-4 people. They are always adding a new dish to the menu, last time I went they had chicken creeps and they looked delicious. Also, the waitress and waiters all know a lot about beer so don't be afraid to ask for advice.

This nugget of a place is a must stop adventure. It reminds me of being in a cubby hole place in Paris. Nice woods, private spaces, but also a beer hall atmosphere for the main area. Nice. Burgers are fantastic, beer selection is wonderful. I've appreciated every staff member that I've encountered.

On three visits there we sampled different items on the menu (salade nicoise, Pascal burger, tarte aux légumes) and some of their impressive beer offerings. All superb. It's a small, unpretentious place. Best to go there at non-peak times. Service isn't fast, but that's because each dish is lovingly and attentively prepared.

Having dined here a few times, we returned again last evening, as i had a taste for their stake frittes. However, upon seeing the $32 price tag (gulp!) I switched to the burger (and frittes) for a more reasonable $15. My dining companion enjoyed her Salad Nicoise. Wine by the glass is expensive ($10 and up) and by the bottle even more so ($50-100), with a huge beer selection. Quite quaint, bar in front with shared seating and small tables, dining in the back with semi-private rooms.

I went to Hopfields on the evening of the USA/Germany women's world cup match. Perfect destination for me: fines beers, knowledgeable staff, small but tasty menu, and a big screen for the match. What's not to like? The beer list was on the short side but very well curated. Perfect as far as I'm concerned. I had the burger which hit the spot. The location seemed out of the way but was an easy drive to get there.

The "gastro" part is really quite good. The food isn't spectacular, but *is* quietly consistent, the type of place that you come back to over and over again. The "pub" part is brilliant - a constantly changing/updated selection of beers, that they staff is more than happy to discuss with you in crazy depth. Mind you, i'm not downplaying the food - it's really very very good, but it's important to note that it isn't the kind of food that hits you upside the head saying "check me out! I'm awesome!", but more the type that you nosh on while having a beer, or two, or three, whiling away the time with your friends. Which is where the "pub" part comes in :-) Incidentally, the wait-staff is friendly to a fault, and more than happy to spend time discussing, well, anything with you :-)

Can't say enough about how great our experience at Hopfields was recently. Our waiter was awesome - he was open, honest, and sarcastic. The dishes were phenomenal, especially the burger. The wine-based takes on traditional cocktails were great! Must, must, must go back.

We went here recently to watch a soccer match with a friend, and enjoy some of their outstanding beer selection. We had been here once before for drinks and thought it pretty interesting--very Euro-trendy vibe. This visit was mixed--the place wasn't terribly crowded, but the staff seemed a bit indifferent to actual service; Though we were given a menu by the decorative Betty Boop clone hostess, when we decided on our order, the bartender waved us to get up and come to the counter--they DO have table service, right? We ordered both food and beer, and were succinctly informed that the bartended would only take a drink order--once they were delivered THEN we could order food. We waited until the beers were delivered and placed the food order-- spicy sausages, and a cheese and fruit plate. When they eventually arrived, everything was tasty, but the portions disappointing--for $15, the oh so artfully arranged cheese plate should not have been so stingy as to have 3 people hesitating to take a bite of the offerings, as there would have been little or nothing left for their friends; again, fine quality but pretentiously small, as trendy restaurants in their benighted way tend to do. The service was the most troubling omission-- Though plenty of staff was simply standing around, when I asked our waiter for a water, he helpfully pointed to the cooler at the back of the restaurant and invited me--a middle aged woman sitting on a hard bench between friends--to awkwardly extricate myself from a tight seating arrangement and fetch for myself. Then he went back to flirting with Betty Boop. Really? Can't even be bothered to bring a patron a water? As we walked back out to the parking lot, the dark little niches along the corridor with their empty tables (it was now dinner time, by American standards) suggested either espionage tete a tetes, or an abandoned brothel--an odd physical arrangement that was presumably striving for cosy, but came off as weird. In sum, I would LIKE to like Hopfields-- a place that has some good things going for it--thoughtful drink selection, interesting menu, and a good location; if they can get over themselves, address the portion deficit and teach their wait staff some of the rudiments of courteous service, they might attract a following. Or at least get us back for another try.

I popped in here with a couple of friends for some drinks and a bite to eat. I loved the menu! Between the four of us, we ordered Tuna tartare, a homemade hot dog, the chicken, and a banana and nutella crepe. All four were delicious but the hotdog was the best hotdog I've ever tasted and the chicken was beyond amazing! The next time I'm in town, I'm definitely stopping in here again.

That's all I can say, simply the best. I've never tasted such goodness. Description: A French inspired hamburger topped with camembert, cornichons, onions and frites (add jalapeños for .50) - their specialty is medium rare, but I asked for it medium well and it just melted in your mouth. They definitely use quality meat, very tender.

On a recent outdoors vacation to Houston, St. Antonio and Houston, we pretty much stumbled upon Hopfield's in Austin. When we walked through the front unassuming bar area, we expected little. But what a surprise. The beers were wonderful craft draughts. The pan roasted chicken was the absolute best chicken dish I have ever eaten in a restaurant (accomplished, we learned, by constant basting). And the dessert (vanilla creme brûlée) and French pressed were the perfect finish. Our server, Jonathan, made a wonderful meal that much more enjoyable with the just right balance of attentiveness and leaving us be. A meal of this caliber can easily cost twice what our bill came to. A fantastic and relaxing meal. If we had Hopfield's in our neighborhood in Boston, we'd be eating there weekly.

We're from outside Austin and chose the restaurant from the Zagat site after deciding we didn't quite want to spend the money for Olivia or Lenoir but wanted French. We visited on a Friday night and chose to sit in the quiet dining room rather than the livelier bar area. We sampled the country pate, Pascal burger, mushroom-leek tart, lemon tart, and Nutella-banana crepe. Dinner was delicious--buttery crust on mushroom tart, great burger and pate. Desserts were fine and so was the service. Nice, brief wine list, extensive beer list. We'd definitely visit again.

Had dinner next door at Blacks but drank the amazing selection of draft beer from Hopfields and sat at the picnic tables out back. Also stayed for a few more after dinner. Place had great atmosphere and a great staff. Will go back to try the food that looked amazing. A must try!

My husband and I met some old friends here while we were visiting my hometown. I have never been here and I loved it. We ordered dinner and drinks. We sat in the front at a table by the bar because there was no wait. The main part of the restaurant had a bit of a wait. We ordered the cheese plate appetizer and it was delicious. I also had the pan roasted chicken. It was juicy with just the right amount of crunch. The bean salad was very good as well. I also ordered the Port of Havana cocktail and it was tasty. My husband had the Pascal burger and enjoyed it. He also tried a few of the beers that my friend, who is somewhat of a beer connoisseur, recommended. Sorry I didn't pay attention to the names of the beers. :-) This place is a gem and I would like to visit it again when I'm back in Austin.

We had reservations for dinner & were seated in a dining room, which had 4 tables & was illuminated by only 4 weak light bulbs in far overhead chandeliers. Dark as the inside of a cow! Trying to read the menu was a joke & we had to use a flashlight to read it. (Not kidding!). I have to concede that my steak frites was excellent, but the three of us could barely see what we were eating, given the environment. Wait staff service can only be called horrendous. Curt, bordering on surly, if you can find them. And the epic finale was the dessert we shared...the crepes. Four oily, cold nasty things, served with two tablespoons of nutella & sopme way over-sweet fruit marmalade. None of us finished ours. If you go, sit in the bar or the ouside seating area...much better lighting & more wait staff. People there seemed much more happy than we were. Or go for the craft beer. The selection is massive. But don't make reservations in the dining room & don't order the crepes.

We had a nice French Bistro meal at Hopfields. We ate at the bar, which was fun. The bartender served us. He was friendly and talkative, but not very attentive. Food was excellent. The wine list could be bigger and it would be great if they could serve cocktails.

We have only been twice and both times during the day. Our friends enjoyed the burgers. My husband enjoyed the jambon beurre sandwich. The first time I enjoyed the mushroom tarte with an excellent glass of red wine that was on special offer. The second time the mushroom tarte was disgustingly greasy to the point of giving me a bellyache! I shouldn't hav eaten it. Salads are always simple and good. Second time no wines on special offer; as a result one (half) glass of French rose set me back $10. (In France this stuff goes for 5 euros in the grocery store.). Desserts were adequate if unremarkable. Everyone with a blow torch has a creme brûlée these days. I like the layout of the place. You can easily escape the giant Sportsbar screen at the bar because the layout is like a rabbit warren: lots of small rooms with one or two tables. Excellent for small group privacy. AND they have a very nice terrace outside in back (which unfortunately faces onto an alley) that appears to be dog-friendly. Staff were very pleasant the first time; second time, different crew, minimally so. There is definitely room for improvement here, but I would go back to try dinner. It's pretty expensive for what it offers, so be prepared.

I went with some girlfriends before a show - if we did not have plans to go to the theater - I would've stayed all night eating and drinking! Their lump crab appetizer was super good and the bread! THE BREAD! geez. I had the special which was pasta dish - HOMEMADE pasta. I still dream about it. Highly recommend.

We liked the interesting menu and good reviews and decided to try this little gem. the beer and wine lists are excellent and the cocktails looked very interesting. We like the vibe of the place with it's semi-private little rooms, bar out front and shared outdoor space with Black's BBQ. Our waiter was super helpful. their extensive beer list was superb with great craft beers from around the country, but specializing in TX breweries and Belgian styles. We decided to share an appetizer and main course and were very pleased with the hush puppies and then the moules et frites. the sauce for the mussels was just amazing and the fries were superb. We really liked the way they were served in one giant bowl and the food was plenty for the two of us. Our waiter even suggested a craft brewery to visit next (Lazarus) and we weren't disappointed. Can't wait to come back!!!

The Pascal Hamburger was the best burger I have tasted in years. The combination of great beef, camembert cheese, whole grain mustard, caramelized onions, and a great bun was perfect. They have a wide selection of craft beers. My wife was shopping and Hopfield's was nearby; so I went in for a casual lunch not expecting too much. I will be back.

Lamb shank, poutine, pho and bread pudding were all great. The atmosphere is great. They have interesting beers and wines.

My husband, son and I enjoyed a delicious meal together. The mussels and frites were to die for. Served piping hot in a spicy red sauce with crispy fries. My husband enjoyed his roasted country chicken with veggies seasoned just right. My son had a perfect burger and fries. There were many types of beer and glasses of red, white and rose wine to choose from. The service was friendly and fast. The atmosphere was lively.

I did not really know what to expect with this place. The name implies brewpub, the ambiance a chic contemporary yuppie-hipsteraunt and the menu more french inspired upscale than either of the other two factors indicate. Came here on a date and we were sat almost immediately in this cozy little back room that was occupied by two other couples. The tables in the room were spaced a little awkwardly, but after I had a wine in my hand, I didn't much care. Their wine list was a bit all over the place, but I appreciated (and enjoyed a few of) their offerings and though a bit of a markup was evident, it was not to the point of price-gouging as you see on a lot of other uninspired and uninformed Austin wine menus. I started with their Domaine De Couron Rosé, which was just perfect to sip on by itself as we perused the menu. We started with the oeufs aioli and wow. Right off the bat, this place was already impressing me! The confluence of flavors from the aioli itself, boquerones, cornichon, and almond gremolata were magnificent! I had this with a glass of Paul Ponnelle Pinot Noir and it was a perfect flavor partner to these hard boiled egg flavor-boats. My date and I both ordered the Butter Poached Crab. I usually like to order different dishes and share, but neither one of us were in a sharing mood when we saw that the crab was in a vanilla cognac sauce. Definitely salvaged the evening by getting separate plates because we would have been fighting over the last morsel; this dish was a revelation! First off, the crab comes in the cutest little mason jar I think i have ever seen. And, though it appeared almost disappointingly small at first, it was actually quite stuffed to the brim with the most succulent and decadent crab I have ever tasted! I am not even the slightest bit ashamed to say I would bathed in that butter cognac sauce! Seriously, this dish was just one of those that you just don't want to end because you are in foodgasm heaven! I paired this one with their Mistinguett Cava, which was a match made in aforementioned foodgasm heaven! I prefer cava to champagne, regardless, but this was a fantastic pairing because you still have the acidity to cut the natural sweetness of the crab & sauce, but the slight sweetness at the finish of the cava was like a flavor boost to the crab, so the little kick at the end of each bite and sip was like getting a delicious little bonus. We ended the perfect meal with the perfect dessert: a Nutella & Banana Crêpe. The brûléed banana and lavender-vanilla sugar really gave an added flair and when complemented by the Grand Courtage Rosé, it really was a "great courtship" between the strawberry notes in the wine and the sweet lavender in the dessert. it was like sweet little lavender infused firecrackers were going off in my mouth! Needless to say, I was not only impressed, but awed by the food and wine offerings here, and that is saying something. The only two things that prevented a 5-star rating was the parking situation. There is just not enough of it. I usually don't discount stars for such trivial things, but having to try and scout a space for close to 15mins almost made me pick a different place for our date. The other one was our server was nice and attentive, but having to ask several times for water is a bit annoying in general, but especially when trying to cleanse my palate between wines (as pretentious as that sounds, I don't care, I would have hated to not been able to enjoy such an exquisite meal without readying my tastebuds for the next course of culinary ecstasy). Will definitely be back! I have my eye on that duck reuben...

Upon entering it appears to be a well stocked pub with tavern-like seating, but walking through this area you encounter an elegant restaurant setting. Where some dishes are presented in a modern version/funky twist, others are classic French. The steak Tartare was traditional, and perfection on a plate.

So long to a regular neighborhood go to, we won't be back. Service is a problem everywhere but was on full display at Hopfield's tonight. I have been giving my hard earned dollars to Hopfield's since opening. My favorite menu item is the burger. The conversation I have before deciding to go to Hopfield's is, "it's so expensive, but the food it good, but it's soooo expensive, oh well let's splurge". The service has been hot and cold over the years but the food has made up for it. However, the last 2 times I have been to Hopfield's - March and April 2023, the food has not lived up to my expectations. They clearly BELIEVE in undercooked meat, and I don't, so I have sent the burgers back taking more time while everyone else in my party finishes their meal. Tonight I had a long conversation with the bartender to order a burger cooked through. We got other items from our order and there was confusion when we asked about the burger. The order for the burger had not been put in and after too many minutes of conversation, we were still being asked if we actually wanted the burger. Frustration won the day and we cancelled the order and left as quickly as possible. The service professionals handled the situation very poorly and could use some training on dealing with an unexpected situation. Their attitude read, "sorry about your luck". They avoided eye contact, and appeared very unsympathetic. The barback was the most professional of the three. The bartender messed up the order, the shift manager asked questions rather than being in tune with the situation and was offended when we, the customers, became frustrated by the lack of being able to address a simple situation that must occur frequently. I hope they fix things and we are convinced by someone to come back but for now they are completely off the list. Too bad and sorry about our luck.

I didn't eat here so I can't vouch for the food but the beer was great! Lots of interesting options including beers that I had never heard of before (grisette) the bartenders were really friendly. We ended up buying a t-shirt. The ambiance was great! They even have wine for your friends that don't drink beer! I'd definitely go back if I was visiting the city again.

We ate all over Austin, but this place was by far the best! We tried the steak frites (out of this world), mushroom risotto (best I ever had), mussels (a huge hit), fried cauliflower (a new fav) and the frommage (DIVINE). One of us got a beer which he raved over. If your thinking about trying this place out, DO IT! You will not be disappointed. We had a hard time finding it. It's on the end of the building. We drove right past it a couple of times. We found a service entrance in the back. The wait was going to be an hour for a table in the dining room at 8:30pm. We didn't want to wait that long so we waited for a table to open up by the bar. Which didn't take long at all! Here's a tip: you have to order at the bar if your sitting at a table in the front. We waited FOREVER for a server. We sent someone to ask how we get food and then she said we had to order at the bar. Would have been nice if someone said something. But the food and the service otherwise was awesome! And the food came out pretty quick. We had an awesome time! We brought our two little babies who slept the whole time and we saw small children at tables in the dining area, but I probably wouldn't have brought any toddler or older kids. It's got kind of a bar vibe. I'm still glad I did it cause the food was WORTH IT!

My wife and I happened upon this little place on our way to pick up some Thai Food and strolled in. I like my microbrews and they had probably about 18 on tap = just what I was looking for. All the beers on tap also had their own wooden plaque that looked like it had been hand carved recently. I can't speak for the food, but the beer and wine was very good, the atmosphere was very low key, and the service was good. We went there on a Saturday afternoon, so obviously not the best judge of how hoppin it gets on a weekend, but it was a nice contrast to a lot of the other places in the upper Guadalupe area.

At least two major areas for eating. The bar just inside the front door has a warm, cozy atmosphere. Farther inside, the dining room is intimate and charming. Great service, very attentive and helpful. Enjoyed the menu - many options, mostly along the lines of a French bistro. Nice wine list. Many craft beers. Interesting cocktails. Just a bit north of the UT campus on Guadalupe; very easy access via 801 and 803 rapid bus lines.
Good beer, nice atmosphere
I took a date here, I enjoyed the atmosphere and the beer (as well as the company). I didn't try any food but it looks quite tasty.
