No place for losers who are trying to impress other people. Simply a place for people who want good food, great service, and a completely one of a kind, romantic, historical atmosphere. This place is LA history.

Excellent happy hour. The bar is adjacent to the pool in an outside covered area. Friendly staff. The drinks were good with a nice wine and beer list. They also stayed open late.

Nice atmosphere. Service was subpar. The fireplace was a nice touch and the sitting areas were great for a group but hard to find a seat at the bar.

First, I must stress that I did NOT stay at this hotel, and most of the reviews from people who did are pretty bad. So although I cannot recommend that you stay there, I can recommend that you go for a drink in the bar on the first (i.e. ground) floor. As you approach the hotel it looks completely bland. As you get close you see some fancy architectural details. But when you enter from the street you see a pretty amazing interior with colourful tiles, moorish/moroccan furniture etc. Go through the lobby area (avoiding the restaurant, which only serves burgers and fried chicken!) to the bar and pool area at the back. This is a nice spot for a drink, with funky, quirky decor (see pictures). I am told that in the evening they put out floor cushions so people can lounge by the pool feeling decadent! A perfectly good margarita costs about $7.

Small and outdoors. Good array of drinks, beers and people. right next to the pool which is lit (like the patrons) at night.

Their drinks are very expensive ($11 is crazy!). It's no wonder there were no people when I went to the bar.

Classic hotel just renovated! Had enchiladas for dinner. Loved it! Great for happy hour after work. Co-worker and I had the red and white wine. Great! Mexican cuisine. Across the street from L.A. Live. Not much parking. Close to public transportation. We found a lot a couple of blocks away. But there is a lot right next door to the hotel. Sat in the lobby for a while! Had mixed drinks. Interesting art work all around! Nice waitresses! One gave us a tip on a retro place that plays all Motown music. Background music was pretty bland. But had a good time.

The Hotel Figueroa is physically old, and some of the rooms and bathrooms are tiny. But I have never had better staff service, and I used to travel to a lot of hotels for business. The front desk was wonderful; changed our room to a larger one with better bathroom the next day, found an express 24- hour laundry service for us which gifted us a duffel bag; were always responsive to anything we asked (and I saw that for other guests as well.) The dining room service was pleasant and efficient, as was the bar service. The rooms were cleaned well. The food at our one dinner was tasty and the several breakfasts imaginative as well as tasty and/or conventional. The hotel is conveniently located near the Arena and several restaurants and just one block more to the Convention Center. It is on the edge of downtown Los Angeles. It offers guarded 24- hour parking. The hotel is about 8 blocks (uphill) to the Broad museum and Disney Concert Hall and MOCA.

Sunday brunch here is fabulous! There was a variety of breakfast and lunch dishes, both healthy and tasty options. As well, the ambiance is beautiful and the service is outstanding.

I've visited this bar several times for it's quaint charm. It's next to the pool. Trendy and unique and worth checking out for the charm.

I sat down to finish some work at the bar and after an hour realized not one of the servers approached me for an order - they instead waited around the bar and socialized with each other.

This is our second stay at the Figueroa hotel. We love the junior suites, but the rooms are fine too. The beds are comfortable and the heat/AC system is not noisy like some of the hotels in downtown LA. The staff are great. The Cafe Fig is very good.

Great happy hour prices, good vibe and overall scene at the pool. We really enjoyed ourselves! Being by the pool made it nice and there were street tacos that were yummy!

If you're downtown, the gin and tonics at this bar are a must try. They're mixed with herbs, flowers and a choice of gin. Cheers!

happy hour by the pool has a taco man selling damn good tacos. carne asada, pork & chicken. pool lights add fun ambiance.

I looked up this hotel but did not stay there, but TripAdvisor wants me to rate it anyway. Sometimes I go into the bar for a drink after an LA Kings game. So I can't speak about the hotel itself or the rooms, but walking down the hall to the bar at the back of the first floor is a good experience. The decor is truly lovely. When you get to the bar, expect it to be very crowded. The bartender is in too much of a hurry to take your complete order. If you are ordering two or more drinks, he takes off as soon as you give him the first one, so it takes longer than it should to grab a couple beers. SLOW DOWN, bartender! This really isn't a race. After you get your drink, you can have a seat in the bar (if a seat is available) or go outside and sit poolside. Again, the decor is lovely. It's a nice place to sit and relax. I recently read that the hotel is going to be renovated. I hope they don't change the Moroccan theme. It works. I'm only giving it a 4 because I have never stayed there and don't know what that experience is.

Excellent Service and Fantastic culinary experience! A even mix of light and heavy dishes paired with 5 Star Service! I highly recommend Bar Figeroa while you enjoy your stay at the Hotel!

Great place for a drink. One might forget they are in the middle of Los Angeles.

The hotel is well situated and close to downtown LA. Rooms are spacious and very comfortable. However don’t come here if you are looking for a quiet stay and a cosy ambiance. During our 3 nights stay the hotel hosted several “private events” including a live dj and loud music at the pool area. Relaxing was not an option….

Bar doesn't open until 5pm and most nights it's closed off for "private parties".

Our family foursome called in for drinks and a late lunch, on a quiet afternoon. At several tables, single 'clients' were transfixed on their laptops/smartphones, occasionally sipping a coffee – a bit frustrating... The lunch menu, although limited, does cater to an acceptable range of tastes, and we thoroughly enjoyed each of our various flavourful dishes. The service was friendly and reasonably efficient, and we thought the prices were reasonable – particularly in such a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Nice new spot downtown. Beautiful bar, best gin and tonic I've had! I stayed for dinner at the restaurant, Breva. Very good food, friendly service.

I stayed at this marvelous hotel 2 nights and was very impressed by their excellent customer service. I was welcomed by Vec who was friendly, professional and was able to answered all my questions. I had breakfast at the Fig Cafe every morning and loved their healthy options, I must say, I also enjoyed a delicious muffin.

My friend Bruno and I stopped by for drinks here after an LA Kings game. We were looking for something that wasn’t “sporty“ where we could have a drink and actually talk to each other without having to yell. Bar Figueroa was perfect! Not only was it perfect in its ambience, but our server Brittany was probably one of the best servers I’ve ever had! She was constantly making sure we were OK, and was EXTREMELY attentive to us. Despite having several tables to work, she spent time talking to the two of us and made us feel like we were guests in her home. I think we have found a new regular hang out when DT!

I love the pool area at the hotel Fig! There is just nothing better on a warm summer night! The food is limited so I suggest stopping here either before or after dinner. It is a Moroccan themed hotel and it is super charming!

Staff was not friendly and was more concerned about staging photos for a media person. Literally waited 15 minutes and no one to take order. Can’t comment on drinks since I finally just left.

The selection isn't much, steaks and burgers. But the steak was the best I've had so far. And the price was more than reasonable.

Stayed in the hotel for two nights with my two kids upon our arrival from Belgium on our way to the Grand Canyon - completely jet lagged but we had a great welcome and amazing service from a lady called Brittany. She was super busy and even if it was late, she was really looking after us and making sure that we got everything and always friendly with a dashing smile. It was the first time in LA for my kids and she made me and them really feel welcome and at ease. Great place, super service . Thank you Brittany!

Stopped here for drinks prior to going to event at staples center. Service was great. Loved the atmosphere.

Server was very attentive and friendly. Choises and food were very good.

We loved our server Samantha! Great food, great wine, lovely location. We felt totally taken care of and enjoyed every moment of the night.

We stayed at Hotel Figueroa for several days before moving our son into his freshman dorm. This hotel was exceptional in every way! The service is top notch across the board. Our room was sparkling clean every single day. Our room was also so quiet, which is such a gift when traveling. The staff helped us figure out the logistics of moving a bunch of stuff to a dorm with our rental car and helped us pack the car early in the morning to make it by our assigned time. They even helped us figure out the best places to shop for necessary items we weren’t able to fly with across country. They made a stressful and emotional time as calm and smooth as it could be and I will be forever grateful to them for that! We will be customers for life now!!

I have stayed at the hotel before, great price for downtown LA, especially if attending venues at LA Live! The Bar-Pool area is great, early afternoon you can sit by the pool enjoying the privacy, like being in your private gardens in downtown LA! Drinks and servers very good, bar-b-que food cooked at pool side, later at night DJ, the place is rockin, so great relaxed by the pool atmosphere during the day, at night party central, careful you could be there for hours if you enjoy both!

I had dinner with a friend at the bar and the bartender gave us great advice on the menu and kept us happy customers. I returned for a lunch meeting and was met with the same great staff and culinary choices.

Pricey cocktails, so stick to beer. I had a mojito, that with tax and exchange (Cdn) came to $16 on my credit card.

the cocktails were amazing. I had a great time there. When i go back to LA it’s definitely the first place im stoping at

I use to love this place. I use to be here at least 3 times a week since I live across the street. Now don’t get me wrong the place looks fabulous since the “upgrade” but it looked amazing before. The problem is it lost its charm. This was a place that was a hidden gem mostly for locals, people coming to sporting events and foreign tourists. They primarily worked with 2 bartenders who poured heavy and at a great price. I was so excited to return. Drinks were weak and prices were double. True sell out. Downtown did not need another overpriced mixology bar.

This bar was a little more expensive but worth it to stop and hangout for a moment. Great environment, strong drinks and helpful bartenders.

If you like unusual atmosphere in an historic place this place might be for you. Drinks were good and reasonably priced.

First of all this hotel is a hidden Gem and its owner is a jack of all trades! He's the front desk clerk, catering manager, site visit operator and all around fun guy. You feel like you've stepped straight into Turkey & Morroco rolled into one. All the decor has come from around the world and its all very interesting. The bar a the back of the hotel is its own little oasis in the busy streets of LA. Love this place.

It's unfortunate the poor service overshadowed such a beautiful area. We just stopped in for a quick drink, it was slowwwwwww (because it was a little earlier), and it took over an hour for us in and out. Oh, and they did not have a menu, said it was being revamped. When I asked if there were any specials, there were none. One of my friends ordered directly from the bartender and he said it seemed like it was his first time ever working behind the bar. But, it is worthwhile to stop in and see it, it is beautiful. Also, it was closed two days during our 3 night stay for special events without warning.

Bardford and Natasha great mixologist. These guys create a fun vibe at this local gem. Fun people to chat with after a long day. Be sure to stop by and have a cocktail with these guys. Your friends from Coachella Jaime and Araceli.

Held a small business meeting there over dinner. Staff was very polite and informative. A tad bit expensive for what it is but well worth it. It has an awesome atmosphere as it's on the second floor with half inside and half over looking the downtown LA area. We had the steak and the veil.... fantastic.

Bar can get busy and bartenders take pride in making great drinks so you might have to wait for a drink. I waited 20-minutes while sitting at the bar and watched others get served until I left,

The German born bartender served potent concoctions with Teutonic precision but could never remember what his patrons were drinking. The pool bar is frequently closed for private parties which can be annoying though many alternative watering holes are within short walking distance. Great atmosphere, quintessential L.A. all the way.

we were staying at The Fig, so we stopped in for a drink. Not many bottle beer choices.

This recently remodeled hotel just re-open. Bahr figure Roa is situated believe the lobby skylight and presents light and airy atmosphere for inspired and counters as noted on their website. The cool vibe on a Friday evening was very much appreciated by my wife and friends. The bar was busy and the drinks were honest. What more could you ask for.

We were here to eat dinner for a large group. When you enter the hotel the atmosphere is very nice and interesting. We were seated in the back in a private room. The lighting was very dark and when our coordinator asked if the lights could be raised he was told no because it was the atmosphere of the hotel. There was an outside pool that we heard had a beautiful view from our room but they did not turn on the lighting. We had a buffet and it was so dark you could not see what your were going to take. The service was awful, the food overcooked. The order we placed was incorrect. the bartender to up the bill started pouring wine in juice glasses rather than wine glasses. The entire experience is one I would never want to experience again.

We have stayed here multiple times through out a couple years and every time we visit we feel at home thanks to Manny and Ron. The best hospitality we’ve received anywhere! Thank you guys! We truly appreciate their kindness and friendship! Thank you Manny and Ron for creating a home away from home!

This is an expensive, beautifully renovated property that completely screams LA and not necessarily in a good way. We encountered some friendly staff, but unfortunately the bad experiences far outweigh the good. Had lunch at Fig. Food was tasty, server was mostly uninterested, but did their job. Sat in the lounge for an afternoon coffee after being told by the hostess “you can sit anywhere there’s not a RESERVED sign”. Considering every open table has a sign, I ask “So if there are no open tables how can we get a RESERVED table?” With an incredulous look she responds, “you can sit anywhere there’s not a RESERVED sign.” Ok, so we linger around and ask to share a table with other guests. Sit down, no one ever even looks at us. Cocktail waitress too busy flipping her hair and sipping her iced latte while gossiping behind the bar. End up going to bar to order a coffee from an irritated bartender and over hear the cocktail waitress say to bartender, “If you’re going to sit at a table, why do you then come up to the bar to order?” Because we were never even acknowledged! She refused to even look in our direction after. The entitlement is absurd in this place. Same thing happened next morning. Completely understaffed lounge area, during busy breakfast. Took a solid 15 mins to get anyone to acknowledge us. Certainly not the service I’d expect from a property of this stature. Disappointing. We will not be back.

Staying at the Figueroa. Outdoor bar has cool vibe to it and in the evenings is a dark oasis. Beer prices are reasonable and the live music is a nice touch. Food is served on occasion and brunch was packed. Overall I was able to kick back and enjoy the scenery.

We stayed at Hotel Figueroa and frequented the bar a few times for various meals throughout our five night stay. Lola Albright ended up being our server each time and was tremendous. She had great input on the menu and LA suggestions as well. Great food, great drinks, great service. Highly recommend this spot!

Totally relaxing ambiance and interesting people (guests and visitors) Perfect for a sundowner. It must be marvelous in summer.

Vegetarian options; I had the tomato pasta and it was delicious!

Had a group meal in this restaurant Lovely salad starter, excellent steak and chicken. Very pleasant kind waitress. Even the house wine was very good. Atmospheric and old fashioned lobby. A very good meal.

We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay here. The location close to the arena was perfect. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful both at the front desk and the restaurant. We would definitely stay here again when in town.

To Staff & Management: I've enjoyed this place for some time now and this past weekend i made the best decision of my life to have a surprise proposal for my future wife there. I want to give a special Thanks to Mike, the 2 Nick's, Cara & Ernesto (Valet) for making it the best day possible with your help.To anyone reading this, I highly recommend coming here for Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner or even happy hour. Swing by and enjoy the great food and drinks and of course can't forget about the great staff who work there. If you're planning an event (big or small) hit up my guy Mike the (Manager), tell them Big Bernie sent you. p.s Can't thank you guys enough honestly.

Drinks are creative with 2 happy hours and food was delicious! Staff is fantastic plus the location is so lovely!

What charm at Hotel Fiqueroa as it nears its 100 anniversary in Los Angeles. The hotel was up to date with modern conveniences while keeping it's history. The staff from check-in, poolside, inhouse restaurant Cafe Fig and housekeeping are extremely courteous and recognized the quests. Looking forward to my next trip to Hotel Figueroa.

Try the ahi tuna poke. Entrees were solid and yummy. Umm, and maybe the tres leches for dessert! Something for everyone is on this menu.

A February evening is not the obvious time to be sitting outdoors, even in LA, but the Figueroa's poolside bar was very pleasant under one of the heaters - away from the hubbub outside where there was a game on at the Staples Centre. We didn't eat but both had a glass of a local chardonnay which was very acceptable, though the glass was much smaller than we expected for the price.

The bar at Figueroa Hotel is one of LA's best kept secrets. Pros: It is a beautiful, outdoor, poolside area with dim lighting and strong drinks. On most nights, you can find somewhere to sit. Cons: Parking downtown is always pricey or hard to find. Expect smoking outdoors.

Me and my friends had a hard time ordering drinks as a well as just getting decent service. They seemed to be overwhelmed- which I understand in a world where pandemic has made the service industry operates with less than idea staffing levels- but that doesn’t not mean you need to be rude or to ignore people. The bartender didn’t even bother making eye contact with us while we were waiting to place our orders. The snottiness was completely uncalled for, but I guess this is LA… The ambiance is incredible though - main reason why I gave it a 3 instead of a 2.
Cool Place
The drinks are cool refreshing and fun. Came here with some family the hotel has been given a facelift and it's great. The bar areas are vast and beautiful. The music was vibe I can't wait to go back.
