Located off the beaten path, HOFP is the type of hidden gem you’d only find if you were specifically looking for it, which only adds to its charm. Chef Frank and his partner Nikki are the heart and soul of this place. From the warm welcome to the personalized service throughout the meal, they make you feel like you’re dining in their home. We opted for the six-course tasting menu, and it was a true culinary adventure. Each of the five savory rolls was beautifully crafted—delicious, intricate, and perfectly complementary to the others. After every course, Chef Frank would step out from behind his kitchen to ask what we thought was in each roll. While we could guess a few ingredients, we were amazed by the harmony of flavors—each roll featured an exquisite combination of delicacies from around the world, ingeniously brought together. We also chose the non-alcoholic drink pairings for each course. They were unique, full of flavor, and served in some of the most whimsical and creative stemware I’ve ever encountered. The entire experience was a feast for the senses. I would highly recommend dining at House of Food Porn. It’s an unforgettable experience and one that I’ll surely be returning to!

We arrived early for the Summer Special & had the opportunity to spend quality time with Nicky (our host), taking in the interesting/intoxicating atmosphere -- she shared with us about the history of how she met Chef Franco & their 8 years of evolving this culinary dreamscape together. Then, we were introduced to our dining partners, who were all unique & outgoing. Nicky's gracious & attentive hosting by far made you feel like you were dining with family-- BUT, the showstopper is really Chef Franco's brilliance in how he creates/shapes the dining experience for all dinner guests. Recommend that you go for the FULL-on 11-course SHU-SHI experience with friends! We will definitely be back 4 MORE!

Our group of four had an amazing experience at House of Food Porn that we won’t soon forget. It was truly special and unlike anything we have ever experienced in the past. For anyone who enjoys fine dining, this is an experience not to be missed. As stated in other reviews, each night is a group of 12 diners. On our visit, flight issues forced the other eight diners to reschedule for another night. Our group of four had the full dedication of Chef Franco and Nikky. The personal attention, friendliness, and detailed discussion of each course was truly special. Our group selected the 7 course option which also included two cocktails and wine. Franco is incredibly creative and presented an amazing array of ingredients into a culinary experience that was unforgettable. Nikky’s focus on the unique cocktails, wine and all the other details of the dining experience make her and Franco a powerful duo in fine dining. Please visit them. You will absolutely love this intimate, interactive, unique and spectacular gem of a restaurant!

My husband and I went here last night for our wedding anniversary, I was a bit dubious as I’m not a very adventurous eater but my husband is. Wow was I surprised it was amazing, unusual and fabulous all rolled into one. This was our fifth trip - might have been the best experience yet. Chef Frank is creative and masterful; the food he prepares is as fine as you will find. We are constantly amazed at the way he mixes different food elements - one delicious course after another. And his presentation skills are second to none given that he serves his creations in the manner of sushi (shushi, as his mom coined it). Nicky treats everyone as if you are a long-time family friend. One of our earliest dates was here. We celebrated with a group of friends after a filming project. We asked them to privately cater our wedding during the height of COVID in 2020. And just yesterday, they created the most unforgettable dining experience for my wife’s 50th birthday celebration. Every course delivered a mind-blowing burst of flavor. Every cocktail and every pour of wine was perfection—and thanks to Nicki’s impeccable attention, our glasses never fell below half. From the chocolate truffle waiting on our napkins as we sat down, to the warm towels before the first course, to the delightful surprises (which I won’t spoil), to the chef’s thoughtful exposition of each dish—every detail was intentional and exquisite. This couple is truly gifted. Their food is spectacular, but their ability to craft an even more spectacular experience is what makes them stand apart. With our history here, it goes without saying: this will not be our last meal with them. We adore these two—and we are endlessly grateful for their talent, their hospitality, and the magic they create.

Listen, my gentleman took me to Florida for my birthday and told me he wanted me to experience something new. Context, the only continent we’ve not been to as yet is the motherland Africa. So we’ve been around. And so I said ok. He said he saw it on Google when searching for unique and creative foods in Miami. This place is a must go. Nicky met us outside and we meet and greeted the other 8 members (business friends/coworkers) that would have made up our dining experience for that night. We took pictures and then was ushered inside where we were sitted according to our place cards. At our sitting area there was an electronic sign saying happy birthday Phillipa. There were plates with chocolate and a nut snack that included wasabi something in it. We were later presented with a warmed wet rag to be used to cleanse our hands. It’s detergent free and scent free. This was necessary as we were to eat with our hands. My gentleman had the special made house wine and because I am pregnant I had to do the mocktails. The wine he claimed was heavenly and he’s not a red wine fan, that’s me. But I’m grateful I am pregnant as those mocktails varied and was created to compliment each meal plus they were to die for. Each glass that she used to present my mocktails were from a different country with a different story. We were told what to expect and how the experience would flow. We chose the 6 course and the other party had chosen 7. You would be given a ShuShi per person and after eating it you were expected to guess the ingredients there in. After which the chef and creator would come and hear your views and then tell you what were the ingredients and the inspiration behind it. All this while, Nicky never stop refilling your glass with their house wine (it’s a secret). This goes on for 6 course and then we were served desert. The ShuShi were incredible, they were packed with protein that had you filled in no time. It was artistic, creative and beautiful. It was a great experience. Chef Franco had also spent some time working in Jamaica and so we were able to share our experiences. When hon told me they had mostly 5star ratings I was very skeptical and I really didn’t trust it…. Now here I am 2 days after my experience giving it a 5+ stars. To Nicky and Franco, as I told you, that was our 1st, but by no means our last visit. Thanks for a memorable experience and birthday.

I don’t know where to begin. We were asked if we could change our reservation because of circumstances with the other parties the night of our reservation. Unfortunately we couldn’t, but instead of canceling our reservation, Chef Franco and Nicky rolled out the red carpet for just the two of us! From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted like old friends by Nicky. She is absolutely lovely and an integral part of the whole experience. Chef Franco was happy to answer any questions and shared so much of his process to creating our amazing experience. The food is absolutely delicious and unique, including the cocktails and wine, but it’s really more than that. The whole evening is an experience. Besides us, there was only one more couple as guests that evening, everything was very warm and easygoing, like a meal among friends with private chef! From the moment Nicky greeted us personally at the door, we were immersed and transported to a culinary experience like no other. Chef Franco prepared delicious, creative and unique ‘Shushi’ then explained the ingredients and preparation. Wow! Amazing! The wine is their own label and was divine! All the detail to personalize the whole experience was such a treat. From the hot towels to the place setting to each savory morsel, , Franco and Nicky made our experience so memorable.

Fascinating, impressive experience. My mom saw this restaurant reviewed on Check, Please and became obsessed with going for her birthday. The food was very innovative and had tons of unexpected touches. One of our rolls had chocolate cake mixed in with plantains and wrapped around ceviche, among numerous other layers. Nicky did an amazing job with drinks, especially presentation. And they made my mom feel so special - birthday beads, individualized place cards, a dramatic dessert plating and entrance. She absolutely loved it. Best part of the night for me was when Nicky mentioned the cat sanctuary they support with any gratuities left. I got to see a ton of photos of their kitties and share some of my own. It was a truly unique meal and the food was surprising - but I think I will best remember the warmth and hospitality from Nicky. She absolutely made our night.

It's very hard to explain the fusion"SHUSHI" everybody gets to know each other chef and Nikki are so personable funny easy the stories are amazing each course you get served they give you a chance to try to figure out what your palette is tasting what are you getting out of it and I'm going to tell you 8 out of 10 you're going to be wrong lol! The textures the flavor explosions the combinations will blow your mind! So many different packages we chose six courses and got their wonderful wine next time we go and have the special drink pairings as well! This is a unique restaurant located off the beaten path. We did the 8 courses and that was the right amount in our opinion. The owners Nicky(hostess) and Frank (chef/ culinary artist) were just lovely! The food was well presented and delicious. After each course Frank explained what it was and how it was prepared. He uses the finest and freshest meats and ingredients sourced from all over the world. The red wine was nice, service impeccable. The atmosphere is a small home and quite welcoming. This would be an experience worth doing!

We found this House of Food on the Check Please show and earmarked it as a place to come "sometime in the future." It's a little far from home, but my birthday with my adult son and his wife in town became the "future" reason to finally try it. I had high expectations from the show, and then I read the Yelp reviews that were more recent, and my expectations went a little higher. I was nervous that it just wouldn't match up. Well, it didn't match up - they FAR EXCEEDED what we hoped to experience. From the moment I made the online reservations through to the next day after the meal, Nikki was over the top in her customer service. Each guest had a name-plate so we all knew each other's names. We had a last minute change up for one of our diners who suddenly had some restrictions. They seamlessly changed up their entire menu just for us. I was floored. Beyond the amazing customer service and fun, the food is simply indescribable. Each Shushi included layers and layers of shavings of special ingredients. After every course, Chef would come out and quiz us as to what we thought might be in there. My daughter-in-law was pretty good at guessing at least one or two ingredients, but we never would have come up with all the layers and layers of ingredients in these delicious bites. It was simply heavenly. High quality food, superb presentation, fantastic atmosphere - I simply cannot think of a thing I would change or add. The wine pairing with the dinner was fabulous as well. The decor is amusing, the Chef and Nikki present an amazing team, and the other guests were equally entertaining. If you love food, you simply MUST give this a go.

This exceeded expectations! I surprised her with this dinner experience one evening while she was in town visiting. We loved every second. So much to cover here. First the indoor setting is perfect. Comfortable AC in hot hot Miami. The decor was elegant and inviting. Exotic. Third, the customer service was outstanding. From the ease of communicating with the restaurant via text/messaging to the whole dining experience. Nicky is Wonder Woman and a Goddess in one. Then there is the fabulous presentation. Such attention to detail. Next is the storytelling and the personal conversations with the chef and other guests. Exclusive and interactive. Next the whole mystery of not knowing what you will eat and deciphering the ingredients was titillating and fun. Endless wine and we highly recommend the cocktail package. Wow. (Be sure to take Uber) Flavors were exquisite. High end ingredients including lobsters from Dubai. It revolves around cultures and we learned some fascinating facts about other countries and traditions when it comes to food. Absolutely love this. Visually appealing, relaxing, inviting, alluring, palatable, memorable. Which brings me to next point. It's worth every penny. A great value indeed. Given this is a dining experience for only 10-12 people, it is very hard to get reservation in high season, December-April. BEST TASTING MENU EVER!!!!! This is a small locally owned business in Miami, Florida. The food is beyond amazing! The dishes are prepared right in front of you. The Chef owner and his wonderful wife go FAR above and beyond. Every bite is an explosion of flavor and completely delicious! This is a tasting menu with each course being a couple of bites of heaven.!! The wine served with meal was exquisite, and they kept your glass filled! Part of our party, including myself, also got the cocktail tasting. We got 5 or 6 of the most wonderful tasting handmade unique cocktails served in beautiful blown glasses of birds, animals, and fantastical shapes. Our family are huge "foodies", we have eaten in Michelin star restaurants all over the world, including two of the top five, but I must say this was better! Wish I had taken more pictures, but I was too busy enjoying the magnificent tastes in my mouth!

Don't judge this book by it's cover, the environment and exterior are somewhat foreboding but that evaporates as soon as the door opens. You start by walking into Nicky and Frank's living room/bar, albeit a very exotic and eclectic living room! Nicky is so warm and welcoming, such a change from what many restaurants offer these days. She keeps you entertained for the whole 2 hours 30 mins, whilst expertly never feeling intrusive.. Frank acts as a counterpoint by popping up periodically with the food, descriptions and exceptional humour. Super tasty cocktails in creative glassware are paired with each course. The whole experience is immensely enjoyable and without peer. I guess the normal review attempts to describe the food... Firstly, it's different yet delicious sushi-like constructed small courses straight from Frank's imagination. However, don't go expecting 'normal' sushi. It's just the shape and construction that looks like sushi. Secondly, I have nothing to add to Frank's engaging, interactive description of each offering. Thanks to you both for such an amazing and unique experience, we'll be back.

A unique experience....pricey but worth it It was our first time visiting HoFP after a friend recommended it. I too would highly recommend. We went as a couple so there were another three couples there that we had never met and had a great time interacting with them, although I can see how going as a group of 8-10 friends would make the e3xperience even better. We had the seven courses with three champagne cocktails+unlimited red wine. The red wine was surprisingly good and very drinkable, the cocktails and food were visiually and tasting-wise all excellent. I could have actually eaten a bit more which surprised me a bit. If I go again I might be be braver and go for the eleven courses I would highly recommend........

Second visit and brought friends. OMG I can't tell you how much fun we had with the other diners and Nicky and Chef Frank. Nicky makes the cocktails and takes care of everyone while chatting and laughing and you don't realize she's just getting us prepared for the next course. Her drinks aren't only amazing, but the presentation is something I can't explain. You have to see it for yourself. She has beautiful glass designs from all over the world, she uses flowers and exotic fruits, and then the flavors themselves are so delicious, you want to drink it down immediately and then impatiently wait for the next one. Then there's Chef Frank. His mind is so far beyond what the average chef's is. He combines meats and vegetables and spices like you've never tasted. Nicky serves the shu-shi on beautifully cut wood platters and you can hardly wait to pick it up and close your eyes and taste the heavenly combinations. I can't even tell you how much flavor is in each piece. As I said, you just have to try it yourself. Don't wait, seriously.

We chose the 11 course tasting with cocktail pairings—definitely the right approach! The neighborhood—let’s say it’s consistent in a way with the venue—daring!… no, it’s sketch! Definitely Uber! I cant take the credit for finding HOFP, my wife did that and raved about it after seeing an episode of "Check please" on PBS. I knew then that this was the place to celebrate her birthday with a special evening. And special it was! Franco and Nicky are great hosts, who between them make remarkable dishes and unique cocktails, while also regaling guests with witty repartee and fascinating stories, especially the Chef's dish origin stories. The other treat for us was interacting with our charming fellow diners, at our "dinner party". Everything was incredible. The food was fabulous. We went for the 6 course taster, as it was not clear before we got there how big the portions would be, but on reflection the 8 course may have been a better option. Whatever you do don't miss out on the cocktails or mocktails! Due to the wine and cocktails its probably best to let your taxi or ride share take the strain. Don't be put off by the fact it is a bit away from the beaten path, but parking is limited. And enjoy it, the experience is unique and magical. We are looking forward to coming back!

My husband and I dined at House of Food Porn for his birthday in March 2024 and it was a full on experience. It’s charming, intimate, well organized and lots of fun. We cannot recommend this spot enough. Nicky is the perfect hostess, she is warm, inviting and so friendly. Chef is beyond creative, I often wondered how he came up with some of his recipes. The passion they both share for the overall dining experience is extraordinary. The presentation is outstanding. The drinks are paired so perfectly and every course is well planned including the platters, plates and the glassware. We have never experienced such a wonderfully unique meal. We felt immersed in an Artistic show featuring food, cocktails and service that was truly mind blowing! This place brings a twist to food you cannot find anywhere else!

Not to be missed! Nikky is a consummate host. You will immediately feel welcomed like you are family. Frank is such a creative mind, creating dishes that will leave you both guessing and highly satisfied. Like no other dining experience!

Fun and inventive food. Prepared by the chef who talks to you about the ingredients and the inspiration for each dish. It’s a bit like Top Chef with private dining and an explanation of all the ingredients in each course. Different flavors make each dish unique. Flexibility with the number of courses to order. The cocktails were well paired and presented in unique glassware that also had a story. Service was friendly and fun. Highly recommend this place when you are in Miami. It’s a unique and fun experience.

A total surprise and wonderful experience in an one of a kind and out of the ordinary restaurant. Everything was unique from the setting to the incredible and tasty food. My husband and I booked this place for our 28th wedding anniversary and it did not disappoint. We were looking to do something different and this was truly the perfect spot. We followed the recommendations on their website and from other customers and took a Lyft and we’re glad we did. From the moment Nikki opened the door and welcomed us, we felt at home. The ambiance is cozy & inviting and Nikki took pictures of us and sent them to us. The House seats 12 at an exquisitely rustic U-shaped high-top bar, but there were only 2 other couples when we went, so very personalized service. We chose the full 11-course option and 4 paired cocktails. It may sound like an overwhelming amount of food and we definitely wondered if we would be able to eat it all, but it was the perfect amount. The “shu-shi” rolls that Chef makes are each unique and amazingly delicious with top-notch ingredients. He allows you to guess what’s in them but then he gives a full description. Eating with our hands made it fun. Nikki’s cocktails were light and refreshing and the house wine is great, as well. While a bit on the pricey side, this place is worth every penny. We definitely plan to go back again. If you’re looking for a different kind of foodie dining experience—book it today!

We were a little apprehensive walking in as the outside of the building does not match the inside. Once opening the door, and seeing such beautiful ambience of candlelight and an intimate setting, we were instantly pleased. Nicki personally welcomed us in and introduced us to the couple next to us. We felt comfortable and excited for the food experience to come. Chef Franco greeted us with some humor and a smile, giving us his background as a chef and a wine enthusiast. From the first “shushi” to the last, every course was different and delicious. The blends of herbs, components and ingredients were an explosion of flavors. We were all pleased with the special evening of delicious food, cocktails and hospitality. We felt like we were in our friend’s home enjoying a special meal. Thank you chef Franco and Nicki for a fun evening in your little slice of restaurant heaven. We will be back.

This was my third time visiting The House of Food Porn. It is my favorite restaurant on the planet! My husband and I planned our last two vacations out of Miami (cruises) so that we could eat at this restaurant. Actually, I shouldn’t even call it a restaurant. It is an experience. An AMAZING experience! Skip lunch the day you plan on eating here. The wine is wonderful and pairs with all of the dishes. Don’t visit Miami without booking this amazing dinner experience.

LOVED our night with Nicky, Frank, and their friends (who happened to be dining with us). A unique, enthralling, intimate experience. Well worth it. If you like cocktails, definitely get the add-0n! Very complex, created and presented by Nicky, the impossibly friendly and consummate hostess. The one in the bird glass was the best drink I’ve ever had. Frank’s shushi creations are customized to the diners, using complex, elegant arrays of high-end ingredients. After eating each course with your fingers, off of custom plates that they often create themselves, Frank asks what you thought you were eating and then explains what it actually was. The decor is funky, bordello cool, with a U -shaped bar that seats only 10-12. If you are looking for a unique, charming, interactive experience with down to earth, super friendly and engaging hosts, eating and drinking wonderful things you’ve never had before, this place is for you!! Now one of our favorite restaurants in the world. Highest possible recommendation!

Such an amazing experience. This was the 4th time we’ve been to The House. Each time is better than the last. I can’t speak highly enough about Nicky and Franco!! You must go if you are in town and can get reservations.

I had the most amazing and incredible culinary experience! The setting is crazy, do not be proud of the neighborhood and the front because everything happens inside! Franco and Nicky welcome you to their home literally, here you come as you are and as you want. The cuisine is very good, surprising, cocktails served in beautiful glasses, everything is good and surprising! It is a surprise to every dish, the chef is passionate and it feels when he describes his dishes. Nicky looks after the well-being of her guests. If we come back to Miami, it will be to eat here undoubtedly.

The experience is a class apart from the usual restaurant-going. I would call it an adventuresome evening in gastronomy, culinary indulging, and tastebud exercising. That goes for both the food and the cocktails pairings.

My goodness gracious, what can I say about this awesome place?? I've never had a meal like it, but I'll definitely be back for more. TL;DR - I can't recommend this experience highly enough. I'd give it 7 stars if I could. You are greeted by Nicky and enter a funky and eclectic room with a big u-shaped table. Everyone has place cards at their seat and you can get started on the delicious house wine and Lindt truffle right away. The house wine is a custom blend of cab and merlot and wow was it good. I'm not usually a merlot fan but this went down really easily. After I had a nice buzz on, Chef Franco arrived and started telling us about the history of the restaurant and what we were about to experience. Then the food begins. We did 8 courses - you can do 7 or 8 courses plus add-ons such as unlimited house wine (one bottle was enough for us but you do you) or four separate cocktail pairings. Chef brought out one piece of ShuShi (cooked Cuban sushi fusion) to each person per course, and then we all guessed what was in it. It made you slow down and really think about the flavors. As a result, you didn't leave there super stuffed (just trashed, lol!). they were the most imaginative combination of ingredients - chocolate, duck, salmon, pasta, who knew what was next! It was about so much more than the (extremely delicious) food. is there anything like the camaraderie of 12 drunk people enjoying a wonderful meal? The attention to detail and interactions from both Chef and Nicky were next level. The food was not only delicious but artfully plated. The celebration of my husband's 40th birthday still leaves me with warm fuzzies. I'm in the northeast and I'm still planning to fly back to Miami for this again soon. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

What a great private dining experience! Maddy and I enjoyed every bite! Chef and his wife Nicky were amazing hosts! They would bring out the rolls, we would eat it and try to figure out what was in it, then chef would come out to talk about it. Must be adventurous 🤩 Drinks were fantastic!

Our 3rd visit to the HOFP and a must do every time we are in Miami. Every time we have visited it has been its own unique experience. The shushi is amazing and it’s always fun to hear Chef explain how and why he chose the ingredients for each roll. The presentation of each dish is beautiful and you almost hate to eat it. Nikki and Chef Frank are amazing and they treat each and every person like family. You come for the food, but walk away with an experience of a lifetime.

WOW!!!This is a must for foodies and adventurers. Nicki is the epitome of a hostess. The intimate facility (seats 12) is ideal for interacting with other guests. The servings are very diverse, unique and quite tasty. We celebrated our 50th honeymoon and Nicki made special champagne drinks for us. This was the best tasting menu we have had in 50 honeymoons around the world. We will be back when we return to Miami.

The House of Food Porn is much more than a restaurant or place to eat. It’s more than an experience. The best way to describe it is to imagine you met an amazing couple that you became fast friends with and they happen to be an incredible host and a super naturally talented chef. It’s like winning the new friend lottery. And that’s just the way they treat you, like best friends who are having dinner together, sharing a kitchen, stories and a little bit of life. Oh, and not only are they outstanding host and chef, they are also animal rescuers. So basically you need to get over to @HOFPMiami before Chef and Nicky get snatched back up to heaven. 😂😁

We scheduled this experience which involved an 8 course paired menu with extraordinatry wine and crafted spirits. It was truly incredible how the chef was able to transform simple dishes into complex and inspiriing creations.

Pairing it with the drinks and the wine (wow the wine!!) truly made it an unforgettable meal and evening. I had heard from friends about the experience and I am so happy that we went. This was not a dinner, was a flavor experience. When we went in, we were welcomed and prepared for the food courses . The wine and drinks were perfection, and the food was innovative, delicious, and well worth an extra stop in Miami. We took my mother and foodie preteen…with diverse palates…and every single one of us were wow’ed. The presentations and flavors were all on point—the descriptions of what we were eating and how prepared were as inspiring as they were flavorful. This spot is definitely worth scheduling for!

House of Food Porn is the best food experience that I've ever had. It goes to show you get what you pay for and here they set the bar high. While it is more expensive than the average place, it is beyond any experience than I've ever had before. It's amazing, creative, edgy and unique. It's legitimately the avant garde of food artistry.

I knew I made a mistake getting the 8 course instead of the 11 so we’ll be back. If you’re in town call Nicky and she’ll take care of you. It’s as simple as that, everything that stresses you out about travel, fine dining, or even Uber rides she’s got your back. I truly felt like I was in someone’s home for a meal. I was blown away with the quality of the ingredients and the mind of the chef is truly remarkable. It was an added cherry on top that Chef Franco and Nicky shared my wife and I’s obsession with cats 😂. Restaurants like these are what makes life worth living, It’s about connection and memories and also trust because I had no idea what I was getting next and they didn’t disappoint. I didn’t take as many pictures as I would’ve liked normally but I was bewitched!! Even though they encourage photos do try to be brief and remain present because you don’t want to miss a moment. Also another regret I will rectify is next time we’ll be adding the Chef Made cocktails, I had to quell my regret with the best red wine I’ve ever had. Bringing my parents down for their 50th 🙌 thank you so much for an unforgettable evening and you’ll see us real soon. We also made friends while we were there!!! This place satiates what we all are truly starving for…community.
