My family and I stayed at the Royal Sonesta for the Thanksgiving holiday. Hoyt's Tavern was by far one of the best restaurants we went to in Chicago. Watching Michael serve a full restaurant was like watching a skilful theatre production. Thanks for the wonderful service Michael!!

Hoyt's is in the Wyndham Hotel and is very convenient for a quick snack, informal dinner or late night cocktail. They also serve breakfast. Hoyt's has a very nice outside area for dining or cocktails and includes a fireplace!

We ate breakfast here twice and dinner once. Slow service each time but food was good otherwise. Mainly a convenience since staying at the hotel. Probably would have gone elsewhere otherwise

Our server Michael was great and the Flafel appetizer was amazing. The well drinks were not watered down.

My wife and I stopped by Hoyt's for a nightcap before heading up to our room at the Wyndham Grand. We had only planned on a drink or two but our server, Michael, suggested we look at the menu. I asked for his opinion on the Venison Burger and he convinced me to try it. I was a bit skeptical as venison can be gamy. However, the burger was fantastic, juicy, and perfectly cooked. My wife's sandwich was incredible as well. The grilled asparagus was very tasty as well. Michael was very attentive to our needs and genuinely fun person to talk to. This was the best service we received in Chicago on this trip. Will definitely return.

This place had delicious food, friendly and helpful staff, and a convenient location. 10/10 recommend. I had a couple drinks including the Smoke on the Water, the pork chop, and dessert. Everything was delicious! I also really enjoyed talking to the waitor!

Great service by Michael. We had two burgers that were super yummy! Make sure to get the house potato chips. They were amazing.

Drove in from Minneapolis today. Had dinner here before leaving on my epic journey on Route 66 the next day. Food was very good. I ate at the bar so somewhat limited exposure but the service was good and the tavern had a great atmosphere.

Lunch yesterday Turkey BLT's with Ciabatta (garlic) and a Venison Burger both very good especially the Ciabatta Breakfast this morning eggs etc. Service and food excellent Pleasant surroundings with great views of the river and city hustle and bustle would highly recommend

delicious food and Michael was great! so pleasant and funny! The eggs benedict with smoked salmon... yum

The wings and cheese cake were delicious! I also tried out the old fashion cocktail and that was also very amazing. The service from the staff, as well as my server Joey, were exceptional. I will definitely be coming back.

Group of ladies weekend trip ! We had reubens, burger and the zucchini flat bread ! Excellent service ! Shout out to our waiter Michael! Thank you !

Stopped for bottomless Mimosa, stayed because of great service from Michael! Truly awsome environment

We stayed at the Wyndham Lakefront in Chicago IL We had an evening meal at Hoyt’s Tavern. The atmosphere was clean and welcoming. The staff was friendly, helpful concerning the menu selections because our food restrictions. Juan was our server. He was very professional and engaging. Because of Juan’s knowledge of the menu, our selections we choose were excellent and perfect. (Fresh ingredients, awesome taste and healthy portions). He brightened our evening and we walked away satisfied.(He did not know about our family loss and funeral)

I ate here late one night when staying at the Wyndham on a business trip. The bar and restaurant area was certainly "lively" with other patrons enjoying themselves, so it was very noisy. Menu is somewhat limited, but the servers were polite, attentive and efficient. The floor area of the bar-restaurant seemed small for a hotel of this capacity.

Come for breakfast; come for drinks; or come for the view! Hoyt's Tavern is the perfect addition to the beautiful Sonesta Chicago. The breakfast options were wonderful with hot plates of eggs, sausage, bacon, and arugula. Coffee was piping hot. Later in the evening, Hoyt's was perfect for a drink before heading out for a night on the town. Wonderful location with fabulous staff! Jose and Charles have endearing smiles. Go to Hoyt's Tavern and tell'em Hi for me! P.S. The Sonesta Chicago is amazing.

We had a wonderful breakfast ...good food at a reasonable price. Michael was our server and he was a great guy being very conscious of our needs. Would give him 5 stars

Only had lunch at the in-hotel (Wyndham Grand) restaurant. NO ambience and very limited menu. Still, the service was swift and the food (venison burger) was quite tasty. If you're in the area or staying in the hotel, and need to just eat lunch to stay alive, this is OK. I think of this place as more the hotel bar with some food dishes as an afterthought, rather than a true restaurant. It was certainly OK for my needs, but I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to eat there. Server was pleasant, and the rapid service bumped my rating from a three to four star.

Found a convenient spot to catch the Bears game, sitting outside on a nice night and were thrilled with the menu. Great food, killer martini and really nice atmosphere. Shishito peppers, incredible wings, caramelized zucchini flat bread- all delightful. Loved it so much we came back the next night.

Michael is an amazing server. He made sure we were well taken care of the entire time. We felt like we were his only table, but there were many more people he had to attend to. I highly recommend this place if you like great food and awesome service.

Popped in here for a quick drink before going on a walking tour that was meeting outside. Really lovely bar and Christopher, who served us, was charm personified. Great cocktails, lovely atmosphere. Can recommend.

Great option to drop in, unwind have a great drink made by Michael whose customer service is outstanding. Great personality and welcoming vibe!

Juan was my waiter and he was ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL. What a great person and an asset to the tavern. Remington makes GREAT cocktails and is very attentive. I couldn't have started my trip with better people.

We stopped in for a drink before our Gangsters and Ghosts Walking Tour......will definitely go back there on our next Chicago visit. Our server Michael was awesome👍🏻👍🏻

Had a great experience here, enjoyed a late night snack and drink. The service was phenomenal , Charles was great. He gave us things to do in Chicago and was very approachable. The food was enjoyable as well, great place to stop by.

Michael, at Hoyt's Tavern, was so friendly and solicitous to our group when we ate there on September 29, 2019. He went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed; several refills of hot water for tea, etc. He checked on us frequently to see that we were happy with our food. I want to thank Michael for going above and beyond. He's definitely a keeper for Hoyt's.

We had a wonderful evening at Hoyt's Tavern. The atmosphere was perfect for catching up with family we only see a couple of times per year. Our server, Michael, was the best. He anticipated our every need and treated us like his most loyal customers even though this was only our first visit to this restaurant. We will definitely return when we make it back to Chicago in the future.

Juan was great and attentive. Great Muscles!!! Staff was greT for greeting when waiting staff was not present. Great way to keep people around!!!

Very good food. The menu is very small. All very friendly waiters except one who was in the bar. It has very few staff, so the service is very slow

We ordered the croissant sandwich and the short rib hash. They did not disappoint. Very, very delicious. Our server was out of this world sweet. Thank you so much Gabriela for this beautiful morning. Blessed to have met you.

Charles and Jose at Hoyts are really friendly and attentive. The food is great, the coffee is amazing.

We stayed in the hotel. The breakfast and service was perfect. Food was excellent. Staff is very friendly, everyone helpful and kind. big thank you to Diana and the team.

We ate lunch at Hoyts. Loved the food. So much in a serving we would share one meal. Wait staff were very accommodating and very nice. Would recommend this restaurant.

This is the bar within the Royal Sonesta hotel but seems to be fairly popular with non-hotel guests too. There’s a small amount of seating outside but inside it is mostly ‘dining style’ table and chairs, which isn’t the most comfortable if you’re only wanting a drink. However, sitting at the bar gives a great experience and is prime to make the most of the wonderful service. The drinks menu is varied with decent prices and the screen above the bar is nice to keep up with the sport. A nice bar and I’ll certainly consider it for some food next time too.

Hoyts is the restaurant in the Royal Sonesta Hotel on Wacker Dr. in Chicago. We ate here while staying at the hotel, and breakfast was excellent. There was a good selection, and everything prepared well. Their hash brown were some of the best we’ve ever had. The staff was friendly and efficient - a big thank you to Juan and Gabriella for taking care of us so well. We don’t get into the city often, and the prices seemed high, but you get what you pay for. Very enjoyable.

From the grilled cheese to the server Charles I truly enjoyed myself. The food was fresh and flavorful, and the service was great! Charles was hilarious and a hard worker! You need more like him! Will recommend friends and family to dine here.

Friendly service. Great artichoke crab dip. Nice Happy Hour wines. Great central location on the river.

We traveled to Chicago to celebrate our anniversary. We were walking around and stopped in to this restaurant to check it out. The staff was WONDERFUL! We were greeted immediately and seated right away by Omar. Our waiters, Fabian and Charles, were very attentive without hovering. They were great! The food was good and served quickly. My husband asked for a coffee refill after we ate. Charles was thinking ahead and brought it in a to-go cup. Ten stars to these guys!

We really enjoyed Michael, our waiter - very fun, friendly and knowledgable - went out of his way for his customers

We stopped to rest and have a drink and we received so much more. The drinks were fun and refreshing and Michael spent time making us feel totally relaxed and at home. We were soon ready to go out and continue our adventures.

We were seated for breakfast at around 8:00A and did not receive any service for over 20 minutes. I walked to the hostess to ask if we could get some coffee and menus and he called over a waiter who began loudly arguing with him about who was responsible for our table. Two couples who came in after us and were seated at the bar were greeted, served, and eating as we waited. Following the argument, we left and walked a few blocks to a Chik-Fil-A where we received excellent food AND service.

Really great food, service, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Thanks Juan for the city visiting tips and information.

My husband and I were enjoying a few days at the Wyndham Riverfront Chicago.. . . Rather than braving the cold morning, we decided to eat breakfast at the Hoyt, adjoining the Hotel. We were in the mood for omelets, We chose 3 egg omelettes , each having different fillings with side of fresh fruit. The coffee carafe is left on the table for plenty of hot refills. Michael Frantz, our server, was extremely personable and attentive; bending over backwards to make sure our experience was pleasurable and our every need met. Bottom line...the food was very good and Michael is a great asset to the establishment!.

My wife, my best buddy and his wife spent a few hours in Hoyt's Tavern located in the Sonesta Hotel on E Wacker in Chicago. Our bartenders Paul & Charles we great! They were friendly, engaging and knew the exact moment to ask if you were ready for an additional cocktail/wine/beer.. Go there and enjoy the atmosphere and the service.

We ate breakfast here on out last morning on our visit to Chicago We were served by the very attentive Michael who was pleasant helpful and went out of his way to ensure we had a great experience The food was lovely and I would definitely recommend it

Our server, Juan, was so very attentive and helpful! I was visiting from oiut of town and he gave us a thorough description of nearby attractions and things to do and how much they would cost us. The food was great, too! I highly recommend this place and this server!!!!

Our bookclub meets at Hoyt’s monthly in a non-descript but quiet room behind the bar. Every month, we are waited upon as if we were royalty by Jose. Charles often assists. Their lovely service, discretion and the delicious food make our discussions all the more enjoyable. Would highly recommend Hoyt’s for a a drink and dinner for out of town visitors. Just a comfy, unpretentious place!

Great service from Jose G and Charles. Came here for breakfast, calm environment but works for brunch. 😉👌 Recommendations: 3-egg omelet, Belgian waffle and parfait.

The service was great Gaby our waitress was awesome, kind and very helpful. The food was good but a bit too expensive for a breakfast for 2 with only 1 drink and tip almost $60 dollars

We came in quite hurriedly hoping to get a quick bite before our tour on the river. We had 35 minutes - they assured us they could accommodate our needs. And they delivered!! Michael and every staff member we interacted with were so friendly and helpful! Our food was delicious, and we were done eating and our the door in 30 minutes! So happy we found our way to Hoyt’s Tavern!

I ordered an omelette, bacon, and toast. The coffee was pretty good but there was a small glass of juice. I’m normally accustomed to a bit larger glass but it turned out to be just the right amount for the size of the meal. The omelette was significantly larger than expected, as was the side toast. My only real critique was my bacon tasted like it had been reheated from the day before and it was hard to locate my greeter upon entry. Otherwise, the service was intentional and fairly fast. A server stopped my table at least five times in less than 40-minutes to make sure I was taken care of. Each time, I did have an ask, so that was convenient.

I stayed at the hotel attached to Hoyts this week for work and had a few meals and a round of drinks at Hoyts. Michael was my server a couple of times and went above and beyond to get our food tailor-made to perfection and to make sure that we had everything we needed. It is rare to see someone do their job with such professionalism and he went above and beyond! Food was great and happy hour prices were great! Thank you so much!

Needed a quick bite between lunch and dinner. Menu offerings encouraged me to have an early dinner. Great sweet potato and black bean burger that was more than enough. Roasted beet salad had to be combined with mixed greens to make the salad that it should have been.

You made my day bro!!! Thanks for the amazing service Charles burson you are a wonderful person !!!!

Stumbled into Hoyt's Tavern to get out of a rain storm, and pleased I did. Stayed for lunch, and went back the next day for breakfast. The comprehensive menu suited our tastes and had no problem finding something that suited. Only down side was the quality of the coffee, but I don't find American coffee to my taste generally, so it's not a criticism of Hoyt's. Staff were friendly and information, providing tips and recommendations on where to visit (thanks Michael) and all the tips proved to be accurate.

This place is AMAZING!!! Everything they make is 5 star quality. Bean burger was superb. Hoyt’s eggs Benedict was amazing. The beats and goat cheese was the perfect size and taste!!! We stayed at the Wyndham and the restaurant was the BEST part of the hotel lol

We had breakfast at Hoyt’s tavern for four gays and Michael’s service was professional, fast and carrying.

Breakfast was everything Gaby and Charles had me in and out and ready for my meeting see you guys for the next 6 days 5 stars service guys

My friend Cassie and I visited Chicago for the weekend and we had Micheal as a bartender Friday night February 17. We are young but he treated us very well and made us feel like a million bucks! He gave great recommendations for places around the area when we asked him. He stuck up great conversations with us when no one else was at the bar. We loved him so much that we came back the next night, Saturday the 18th to see Micheal and he remembered that I was having a Tito‘s and club soda with a lime and we reported back on its great suggestions!! Also have us some history of the buildings out the window. We will be back!

We were in the neighborhood and hungry and decided that this might be a good place. The inside is basically a bar with a couple of tables in a narrow format, and a TV for patrons. The outside seemed more comfortable and the weather was good. It took out waiter 10 minutes to recognize that we were sitting. The soda we ordered were extremely flat, so he brought one in a can. We ordered basic food ( a burger and some pasta). The food took 45 minutes to arrive, and there was only 4 tables taken. The meat on the burger was good, but the pasta was blah. when we were done, it took another 20 minutes to get our check. Took too much time for just average food. Skip it.

we had a wonderful meal, great wine, and excellent services by Jessica and Diann! they made it a special evening before the show.

Had an incredible experience with the restaurant and Juan our server. As it was our first time in Chicago, he went out of his way to provide excellent service and up and beyond with directions to the United Stadium.

Juan was an awesome bartender and waiter. Food was awesome and the dirty vodka martini was the smoothest best martini ever.

Our server Michael was so attentive during our lunch visit. We are celebrating our 10 year anniversary this weekend and the service provided was above and beyond. Remington was so helpful with giving us advice on which bars may be showing the boxing match tonight. Definitely coming back again.

Had a great breakfast here- the omelette and the banana pecan french toast were both fantastic. Service was fast and exceptionally kind- Michael was great, even making my wife feel special on her birthday morning. Highly recommend.

Had a great time a brunch. Service was quick and our server Michael was so friendly and helpful! Food was great and they had great prices. Would come again!

Overpriced, average food quality with horrible service. Can't top that! There are better places around.

We are on vacation and went to Hoyt's for brunch. To be honest the food was OK, but the treat came from our waiter Michael. He was just delightful and did everything to make our meal enjoyable and for us to have a good time. He was attentive but not overly so. He addressed an issue my sister had immediately. In short, it is this kind of service that will keep me coming back.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Royal Sonesta which is attached to Hoyt's Tavern. We went to Hoyt's Tavern a couple times and each time we had excellent service, food, and drinks. Michael was one of our servers (that I can remember). He was so nice to us. I kept telling my boyfriend how much I appreciated our server being so nice and kind especially since it was Christmas day. Over all everyone should go to Hoyt's Tavern! Michael and the rest of the crew will treat you well!

We had the best drinks and appetizers at Hoyt’s while in town visiting family. Connected to the Wyndham, Hoyt’s was the perfect spot for happy hour and delicious appetizers!! Thanks to our waiter, Michael, for amazing service.

Have stayed at the Wyndham a couple of times and eaten at Hoyt’s. Great roasted tomato soup and delicious venison burger. Easy after a day in the air. Staff is very helpful and attentive.

My friends and I stopped at this place because of the advertised $15 bottomless mimosas for brunch but we recieved really poor service and no bottomless mimosa. Our server took forever to get to us and then she skeipped our table and when we spoke up she had an attitude with us the rest of the time. They have a drag show in the middle of brunch on sunday wich was pretty much our highlight. The food was good but not great. We never got a refill on our mimosas and we saw the waitress refill eveyone elses but ours. There should be more than one person taking care of the outdoor area especially on a busy day like sunday for brunch. We were disappinted and honestly don’t think we’ll be back.

An excellent restaurant situated on East Wacker Drive in the city. Great location, I attended on 3 mornings for a really excellent cooked breakfast and coffee/juice etc which really set me up for a day of sightseeing etc. Michael, "my host",was an extrememely friendly guy, very professional, and genuinely interested in how my trip to Chicago was going etc. I would absolutely recommend this Tavern to anyone visiting Chicago in future.

STAY AWAY!!!! Good Luck gettting in touch with management if needed! I mean WHEN needed!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Many Many Many Great places to go in Chicago!! Still waiting to hear from someone from here or least someone to answer the phone when we call!!!!!!!!!!

Had a very good breakfast with a good strong coffee, and a tasty Caesar salad with freshly grilled chicken. Also very good drinks. The restaurant was closed for lunch.

We ate one dinner and two breakfasts here. We thought the food was good and competitively priced. Omar and Gabriella were friendly servers. Being right at the Royal Sonesta Hotel, makes Hoyt's very convenient.

Fabulous service. Michael was amazing! He made our dinner perfectly enjoyable. The food was delicious. Tomato soup and pretzel bites were delicious.

Great service and friendly staff. Turkey BLT with fries were superior. I appreciated the waiter who didn’t charge me for my Pepsi. The entire experience was Terrific!

We only went here by a fluke, the timeshare we stay at is attached and we were having some issues with our room, so we were given a free dinner with drinks. My husband got the NY strip and I got the Pan seared scallops. They were delicious. The steak was cooked with garlic butter, onions and potatoes. The flavor was indescribable. My Pan seared scallops were plated with corn, onions and peppers. Its was the neatest flavor. Food seemed to come out quick. But there weren't alot of people in the restaurant at the time. Service was good. Our plates were cleared quickly too when we finished.

Great service by Charles and Jose plus delicious food for breakfast. Convenient since we were staying at the Royal Sonesta

Place was clean. Good service. Decent beer. We liked both of the dishes. Would suggest happy hour. Prices are excessive

Stayed at another hotel along Wacker and saw this restaurant walking by. Very good breakfast at a great price, given we're right on the river! My Fiance and I did the unlimited mimosas and I got steak and eggs while she got the eggs Benedict. Both meals were cooked to perfection and tasted great. The chimichurri sauce wasn't too salty and the steak was nice and tender. Charles and Jose were professional, friendly and on top of all our needs. They preemptively refilled mimosas/water and checked up on us. Highly recommend if you're looking for a place to Settle into for a late morning breakfast/brunch.

The food here is very good. My only advice is if you go in because of a certain menu item you saw, ask first if it is available before you order drinks and become committed. Both times things we went in for, were not available. The food and service is very good.

The worst place I’ve evento been in US. I entered the place, nobody even cared about receiving us. We sitted and stayed exactly 20 minutes without NO ONE worried about going to our table. Worst service, dont waste your time going to a placa like this. We stood up and left the place.

Loved the service here Michael was the best! Very attentive to detail and made sure we had everything we needed.

Great appetizers and salad. Tried little gem salad, shrimp and corn was amazing. Servant is attentive. Will recommend 🥗 Thank you!

We stayed at the hotel attached to Hoyt's and decided to go to restaurant for brunch. Absolutely right decision. Steak and eggs were perfect. Delicious burger with hot out of the fryer, house-made chips. The real star was the Chicago Bloody Mary. Staff was super friendly too. Will definitely go back.

We had the American breakfast. Bacon was thick and perfectly cooked. Red potatoes were delicious. Our server, Michael gave was phenomenal service. He even gave us some tips about exploring the city

I’m a member of a group that has been meeting in Hoyt’s private dining area monthly for a number of years. The service has always been attentive, responsive and friendly; the salmon that we often request is exceptional. A shout out to José, our server, and to Charles, who often teams with him: they make our evenings feel like homecomings. Thank you!!!

Nice restaurant, delicious food and very pleasant, helpful staff. Diana was awesome, going well beyond her regular duties. I was there with a coif small kids who were making trouble. Diana made our experience very nice. Thank you

My wife and myself on vacation from England stayed at Wyndham Grand in Chicago and dined each day at Hoyt's Tavern. Our server was MICHAEL FRANTZ who made our holiday. His happy attitude and help when asked for information on Chicago was outstanding. He is a total credit, not only to Hoyt and Wyndham, but indeed to Chicago.

We stayed at the Wyndham Grand with our three children. Not wanting to venture far in the evening we tried Hoyt's which is in the hotel. We shared several apps, which were good. More notable was the service. Michael, our server, went above and beyond. He was so attentive and great with our kids. So, great we went back for breakfast and dinner the next day. Unfortunately, the experience without Michael was not as good. The service was sub-par compared to his service. That said, the food was very good everytime. They have great kids meal options. We would recommend and would return despite the slow service when Michael was not our server.

We were staying at the Hotel and wanted someplace quick to eat before going to Hamilton. Michael was our server. Absolutely wonderful and cared about every detail. The food was delicious. Michael even gave us tips about where to go in Chicago.

Nice Place to sit outside. Riverview and great looks to the highrisers. Perfekt beer and drinks. Great Breakfast. Nice stuff. Michael has taken care of us.

What started with a generous gesture, quickly turned into a delicious lunch. Michael and Charles were attentive and polite- while also delivering the most delicious meal. Great atmosphere! Better people!!!

We had appies at Hoyt’s while waiting for our Gangstas and Ghosts walking tour. Jessica and Diana were amazing server and hostess. I would go back again. Delicious!

Thanks to Michael, our bartender, for making it a great and friendly experience. Will be sure to visit again

We stayed at the Wyndham Grand River and this restaurant is in the lobby. We only grabbed burgers and a beer. Both were very good. It's kind of hard to rate the experience based on our limited exposure. I did find the service was a bit lacking and the room was "average".

Great food-excellent service... Juan offered just the service I needed after a hectic drive into the city! Best waiter I’ve had in a while... Thank you Juan!!!

Please come and visit Carlos. He has a lot of knowledge about the city and a wealth of music knowledge. We were given a lot of good advice about the city. I highly recommend coming here and seeing Carlos!

We had the American breakfast and it was plentiful and done just right. Wonderful view of the Chicago River and landmark buildings. Charles and Jose G were very attentive to our vast early morning coffee needs.

Excellent service from Gabriella. Lots of tea and coffee!! Fruit was bountiful although I did enjoy the cooked breakfast Perfect for starting the day.

Our server Michael was amazing! He went above and beyond to make my drink and it tasted amazing. We’re from out of town and he gave us some great advice on where to go!

Great experience! Charles Gaby was kind, generous and helpful. But most importantly his empathy towards my situation was commendable! I’ll surely visit this place again!

Juan was fantastic! He was so attentive and kind. My husband and I really enjoyed sitting by the fire outside and watching a ballgame.

I had the bucchni pasta and it was excellent. The scallops were cooked perfect and tasted wonderful. The dish presentation was wonderfull as well. And my craft porter was awesome. Excellent meal.

While we were staying in Chicago we often had breakfast at Hoyt’s Tavern, the food was excellent and always prepared the way we liked it. Michael, Omar and the entire staff were very friendly and attentive to our needs. Thank you for your service and I would definitely go there again.

Jose is amazing. He is kind, smart, and important. I think this app needs serious improvement. It has not been mapped well.

Juan was funny helpful and very attentive! We came in late and just wanted a drink but ended up having a blast

I ate here while working downtown on 10/30/2019. Michael was our waiter. He was so nice and made our experience so much better! We both ordered cheeseburgers and I have to say they were sooo good! The tavern is so relaxing and very pretty inside. I high recommend popping in there for lunch. Hopefully you'll have Michael take care of you, he's the best!! Thank You!

Our time here was so great!! We stopped in for apps and a drink not expecting much and were blown away. The appt portions were huge. The bartender, Michael, was such a delight and he treated us like his own family. Definitely recommend stopping in!!

They are so attentive and very informative, both recommended what was best to eat and where to visit it’s for of us visiting from Los Angeles for the first time and they were just so welcome and we will definitely be coming here the next time we visit thank you both !

After a long day of walking around being tourists we went into Hoyt’s for drinks. I have to say this was the best part of the day. Our server, Gabriella, was wonderful not only helping us order but was very engaging. She is a great ambassador for Hoyt’s. We will be back.

My boyfriend and I stopped in here while walking around the area because it looked like they didn’t have a wait for seating, and we were looking for some appetizers, we were so glad we did. The homemade watermelon basil drink was amazing (we added vodka), the homemade margaritas were tangy and delicious. We also had wings and humus they were really good too! Everything is homemade and the bartender Carlos was so nice!! Def recommend!

The Bananas Foster Pecan Crunch French Toast is amazing. Its made with bananas caramelized in bourbon | brown sugar | cinnamon.

I enjoyed a delicious meal from the restaurant week menu. When I am back in Chicago I will definitely come back for the burger! The service was also very good.

We had breakfast at Hoyt's - the food was okay BUT the service from our waitstaff, Michael, was EXCELLENT. My English muffin arrived untoasted... when I opened it, he took one look at it and whisked it away. He personally toasted it and it was perfect! He is a delightful man with a good sense of humor and a great singing voice (it was my birthday... so he sang the song!!) Thank you, Michael!!

The food was good but the service was lacking. We ate there two mornings in a row and both times had issues. The first time the food took forever. The waiter kept apogizing but there was no compensation for the very long wait afterwards. The following day we waited forever for anyone to take our order. Then the waiter had an attitude and came off very rude when speaking to us. The first day I had gotten a refill of orange juice with no extra charge. The following day when I asked for a refill the waiter rudely yelled at me saying "oh its not a refill you will be charged".

The service was excellent. Michael your server was very knowledgeable and personable. Fabulous atmosphere and location.

I had tacos for lunch here the other day - they were really great! Great taste and portion size made for a delicious lunch. Definitely recommend!

Great food and drinks. Amazing people and service. If i wasn’t coming back before, i definitely am now thanks to our great and hilarious services from Charles. Wish i had a last name for him.

I was looking for a new place to try by downtown and it happened to be this place. Definitely will be returning ! Absolutely loved the food and drinks. The service was incredible. Big thanks to Diana and Carlos. Wonderful people.

The breakfast was amazing Charles suggested the waffle and it was great he also gave us suggestions on places to go thanks charlie

We stayed at Royal Sonesta and had breakfast at Hoyt’s. Jessica and Charles were very friendly and efficient and the food was delicious. We love the street view too. What a warm, inviting atmosphere. Highly recommend this place and the salsa that I asked for with my eggs was some of the best I’ve had. Yum!

During our weekend trip to Chicago, Hoyt’s became our go-to place for drinks and the food was delicious, too! Then add in Paul, who could poured those perfect drinks and hold an engaging conversation and you can’t go wrong! Can’t wait for my next trip to the city so I can stop in again!

We enjoyed eating at Hoyt’s. It had a great atmosphere. Our waiter, Darian, suggested the salmon and it was terrific! Highly recommend going to Hoyt’s. All of the waiters and stuff were super great. The chef even came out and personally spoke to us. Darian went out of her way to learn or names. You just try the Chicago Mary.. sorta like a Bloody Mary!!! Over all, we LOVE this place.

I held a business dinner here with 12 attendees. The atmosphere was quiet enough that discussions could be held without yelling. The food was good. The service was great! Juan was our server. He was attentive and friendly. Juan is an awesome server! I recommend Hoyt’s.

Special server, Juan most attentive and engaging... made the food taste that much better. Food portions were ample and the speed in which it was hot and ready was very commendable.

Diana made it very easy to get food ordered to go, she was very accommodating and even had insight on what to do locally.

Every time I entered the restaurant and Charles was there, I was greeted warmly and welcomed in. Charles was very attentive and always helping out. Great personality as well. The food and beverages were also great. Dined here for breakfast and had some drinks at night.

We had the best time at Hoyt’s Tavern! We did brunch, the food was great and the bottomless mimosa package was even greater. Michael our server was so friendly and attentive to all of our needs and made our experience the best possible. Highly recommend and would definitely come back.

We stumbled across this bar on our way back to the hotel we stayed at. We went during happy hour. Staff was very nice and welcoming. I had a nice cocktail which was great. I also tried the bread pudding which I enjoyed as well. I definitely recommend you check this place out for dessert and drinks. The bartenders were absolutely fantastic! Our bartender was Carlos and our server was Juan.

Jose is the best! He entertained our need for multiple photo shoots and kept the bottomless mimosas coming!

Service was exceptional, house burger was to die for! Across from Trump Tower...weather at tables outside couldn’t have made for a more perfect lunch! Michael was top notch!

Wonderful food service by Juan! He went above and beyond! The lounge is very quaint, great atmosphere. Juan also gave us recommendations for the city as well.

I ordered the salmon and it was amazing. Charles thank you for such a great meal cooked just right!!

We were late arriving to the hotel. It was so nice to be able to call and order and then pick up. The next day we had a cheese board that was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant

Great place for dinner and drinks the menu has a variety of options for everyone. I enjoyed everything 10/10; the service was attentive and I even took two desserts back to my room lol

The staff was incredibly friendly and helped walk us through potential experiences in the city! The food and drinks were top notch. If ever you’re in Chicago, come and give this place a try!

Hoyt's Tavern is located in the Royal Sonesta hotel on E. Wacker Dr. We stopped in for drinks and dessert at the bar one night, and twice for breakfast. Service was fast and friendly, and the food was really good. Like any hotel food service, breakfast can be a bit pricey - depending on what you order -- I'd plan for about $20-$30 per person including tip. There are less expensive options nearby, like Starbucks and a Corner Bakery. But if you want to treat yourself to a full and well done sit-down breakfast, this is a great place. And it's a nice spot for drinks at night in this area of town, after a visit to Riverwalk or dinner nearby.

Food was delicious. The service was excellent! Juan was very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend eating here. I know I'll be back.

Food was delicious and our server Gabby was so amazing!!! Wifes Bday Weekend ❤️ the products of dessert with a candle very nice of the staff

We had breakfast before leaving. Food was beyond excellent. Very upscale, and so delicious I forgot to take pictures. I will say the best part was our waiter Juan. He went out of his way to explain all the nearby attractions, how to get there, and what to stay away from. Was so friendly and welcoming, couldn’t recommend enough!

This night's visit, calm, serene, and beautiful! Michael our bartender/server was superb, and professional. Food was deliciously done right! Flank steak was just right. Drinks, recommend the smoke on the river! Dessert, brownie a la mode presented with flare. Loved it!

Amazing food, coffee and service. We’re visiting from the UK and Juan gave us great advise on where to visit in the city.

Amazing, mostly because of Michael...He is certainly in his element here! We spent this past weekend at the Wyndam (for a wedding)...spent quite a bit of time eating and drinking in Hoyt's, and Michael certainly made it special. He was attentive to everyone's wants and needs - always with a smile...just can't say enough about his attention to everything. All of the food we had was great, as well. But, we thank Michael most of all to make it a special time for all.

Since it was raining and we were tired from our trip we decided to order a to go dinner from Hoyts in our hotel, the Wyndham Grand Riverfront. Spoke to Juan who took our order by phone, repeated it back with a couple of specific requests and all seemed good. My husband picked it up. He asked the hostess who got the order if the ketchup for the burgers were in the order. She said yes, in with the burgers. He luckily decided to look and saw that there was none and went back to ask for it. Reluctantly she went to the back to give it to him. He then asked if she had packed the extra napkins he had requested when he first spoke to her. She said yes. Again he checked and surprise, no extra napkins. Then he asked about the can of soda he paid for which was missing. She asked if he wanted the fountain soda and he said no. She said , "Well, I have to go to the back then" and very annoyed went to the back. The burger was OK, the salad was so so, but the interchange with the hostess was extremely uncomfortable. One would expect a more friendly and accommodating interchange with a hostess! With the many other local choices for meals near this hotel, I don't think we will try another meal here with this kind of service.

My mother, sister and I stopped in Hoyt's for happy hour on a recent, beautiful Tuesday afternoon in Chicago. Hoyt's has great sidewalk seating on Wacker Drive adjacent to the river walk. It's a very roomy outdoor space and doesn't make you feel like you're right next to the foot traffic, yet it's a great vantage point for people-watching. As we entered, we struck up a conversation with a couple who let us know how good the happy hour appetizers were. We ended up ordering a few orders of the sliders and flatbread, and those turned out to be our dinner. Delicious and substantial! The happy hour is a great value for drinks and food. Juan, our waiter, was extremely attentive and friendly!

We had plans for a different restaurant Thanksgiving evening, but when those fell through, we were able to get a reservation at Hoyt’s American Tavern. The restaurant wasn’t busy when we entered just before 6pm, but by time we left there wasn’t an open table. We had a wonderful, attentive server whose name unfortunately I can’t remember. Even though, as I mentioned, the restaurant became busier while we were there, she did not rush us and we enjoyed a leisurely dinner with our adult children. Also, our server asked if we wanted to be seated by the window, which was perfect as we were able to look out on the happenings of the sidewalk and city and enjoy the view. Our server was also friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We each enjoyed our dinner - turkey blts, classic reuben and the panzanella salad, as well as our drinks. When we were having trouble finding a restaurant the next night, we gave serious consideration to going back to Hoyt’s.

We were just walking down the street around lunchtime and came across Hoyt's. They have an outside patio and had plenty of tables available. So we decided to sit down and order lunch. So glad we did. Servers offered us drinks as soon as we sat down. They had a variety of salads and sandwiches.A good wine list and beer list. We ordered some of each and they were all delicious. The service was fantastic. The prices were very reasonable. Everything was so good that we went back the next day for more.

This place has better menu than the overloaded Land&Lake next door. Our waiter Juan was very good, the only strange thing is when you are paying with chipped bank card, you have to go to the cashier corner.. Dear management, it's time to upgrade to a wireless terminal, it is the 21st century, isn't it?

the food was delicious, the service was quick, and the host (Jose G.) was very friendly. I definitely recommend this restaurant!

The breakfast was edible but blend and to be nice, very average. So was the service. To be a hotel breakfast buffet it’s one of the smallest I have ever encountered. No cold cuts, no bacon, no sweets. Their scrambled eggs where awful and much to salty. Service was slow and sloppy. I will never go hear again.

The hot toddy and spinach-crab-artichoke dip were great! Juan gave excellent service. Nice view of the river.

My cousins and I were here on New Years Day for a refreshing repast in the early afternoon before having a night on the town. We were so welcomed and just loved the atmosphere and classy vibe of Hoyt’s. Juan was the best waiter ever…he was genuinely happy to see people out enjoying themselves. He was so friendly and helpful…super efficient. We also ate brunch here the next morning, 2 January 22, and just had a lovely dining experience. The food is sooooooo good and there is a delicious breakfast/brunch menu. Juan was our waiter again and kept the bottomless mimosas flowing. He is a sincere man who wants people to have a fabulous experience. Thank you!!! Happy New Year…here is to a “Renew in ‘22” 😊

We stayed at the Wyndham and had lunch here after checking in. Chris, our server, was super pleasant and efficient. The burgers were very tasty and the fries excellent too. We had breakfast here everyday and everything we had was very good. The only downside was seeing Trump's name on the building across the river 😂.

My husband and I had a delicious breakfast while staying at the Royal Sonesta Downtown. He had the omelette while I had the waffle with apple cinnamon compote. We both enjoyed our meal and the service was friendly and prompt. The restaurant decor is modern and beautiful and I would recommend this place to anyone staying in the hotel or in the area.

On our first trip to Chicago, we had the wonderful pleasure of being served by the city’s most outstanding server, Michael from Hoyt’s Tavern. Prior to boarding our bus tour, our group decided to pop in for some brunch. Michael quickly took our orders, made excellent suggestions and completed our dining experience with flare.

Pleasantly surprised at this restaurant attached to our hotel. Food was delicious and the service was awesome! Thank you Jose for making our dining experience 5 star.

Michael was our server and he was so considerate toward us and our family and really was accommodating to the small kids we had with us

Visiting from Galveston Tx and just love all the adventure the city of Chicago has to offer. We came across this cozy Tavern. We first came to watch a baseball game. Service below par Carlos was not friendly at all. No communication and Jose a little better but not really a comfortable atmosphere for a small place. The second time was a totally different experience, we met Remington. He was very courteous and knew a lot about the city and especially customer service. He was great! Next visit to Chicago we will stay again at the Wyndham and stop in at Hoyt’s to visit Remington a definate asset.

Traveling on business great food, service and quality. Thank you Michael for the great service. Sent my daughter a pick of the dessert menu, bread pudding...we will be back.

We had a great time at Hoyt’s. Charles is a excellent server. The food and drinks during happy hour were great.

Very good beer selection with super friendly service and a lovely Wacker Avenue view (minus that dumb*** hotel). My Girlfriend got the Full Breakfast (Delicious) and I got the Venison Burger (FANTASTIC!)
Late night snack
My wife and I stopped in since we were staying at the hotel for a late night snack. We each had a glass of wine and she had one of the salads and I had the pretzel bites. The wine was good and a decent amount was in the glass. She said the salad was good, but could have had more fruit. The pretzel bites were very good and the beer sauce that went along with it was good. This place could have a higher rating if the menu had more variety. It was kinda limited. Overall it was good for our purposes.
