The husband does the cooking, the wife greets and remembers the customers and in the summer the daughter helped with the order and serving. There is TV showing international soccer games ( nice touch !). Closed on sunday. Seats about 18 persons. Best to order ahead if you are hungry because this is no fast food place, everything is cooked to order. A place where one feels welcomed and can laugh with the owners who are from Alexandria, Egypt. The meat is Halal.

We ate lunch in this Mediterranean cafe on the corner of Greenwood and 85th, in the Freemont area of Seattle, and we were impressed by the fast service, reasonable price, and variety!! I had a lamb gyro and we split a sampler platter with dolmas, falafel, eggplant, hummus, and greek olives. Friendly owners, casual ambiance, and they did not mind making substitutions for dietary restrictions. I highly recommend it!

Hummus Cafe, on Greenwood N & N 85th St, is a special place, one of our favorites in the neighborhood. Mom and Pop owned and run, the food is authentic, carefully prepared and delicious. Newly remodeled with updated menu, it’s a comfortable and attractive space, clean and excellent service. Do you love falafel, baba, ful/fava beans, hummus, shwarma? This is the place! https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g60878-d4631335-r1017710603-Hummus_Cafe-Seattle_Washington.html#

We visited The Hummus Cafe in the company of another couple, who suggested we try it. They had eaten there several times, finding it suitable for the vegan diet of one of them. The service was good, and we got desirable menu tips and recommendations. The vegetarian sampler was excellent, as were all the sandwiches that were ordered. We will definitely eat there again!

A friend and I enjoyed a delicious Mediterranean-style lunch in the heart of Greenwood Avenue. Just a few tables, mostly occupied but there was room for the two of us. It may or may not be a mom and pop establishment, but it had that air. There is an extensive menu with starters like baba ganouj or marinated eggplant; lentil or green soup; lots of sandwiches and salad. We split some delicious spanakopita (it took a while in the oven but worth waiting for) and a melt-in-the-mouth beef and lamb shawarma salad. Enjoyable lunch! Don't know what beverages they serve as no one offered us anything but water. Which was all we needed.

This must be my 20th visit to this little family restaurant in the past three years and it gets better every time! I always like to explore more restaurants but I keep coming back to this one. This place has the best falafel I have ever had.....( I have had falafel in Lebanon, Jordan Israel and Egypt but this one is by far the best and not sure how but I do not care. I had the falafel with eggplant sandwich and I thought I died and went to heaven. You will not be disappointed!

The Hummus Cafe is well named with the best hummus I've had in Seattle Delicious Middle Eastern food is the offering of this North Seattle Greenwood neighborhood restaurant. I eat here about once a month and can recommend everything on the menu. The lamb is moist & tender in the kebab, the falafel is light and non-greasy, a lentil soup was savory. The restaurant, run by a friendly Egyptian-American couple, is compact with six tables and a few seats at a window counter. Worth a detour as they say.

Tried this little cafe for the first time and really enjoyed the food. The hummus is home-made and is so fresh and tasty. Try the lamb shank and you won't be sorry. This is a Syrian restaurant with a small menu, but exceptionally flavorful food. We'll be back!

Authentic, authentic, authentic......that is all I can think of while i was eating here!! After giving up on having a good middle eastern meal in the U.S. I accidentally discovered this little place about a month ago and been there twice already. The best Falafel I have ever had including Israel & Egypt and that is saying a lot!

This neighborhood restaurant is a sweet little place for tasty Egyptian style Middle Eastern cuisine. It is family owned and run, and is right on Greenwood Ave if you want to people watch while eating at the counter facing the street, along with the small tables throughout. Just don't be in a big hurry, since it takes a little while to prepare the food fresh, but it's worth the wait.

Feels like a mom and pop restuarant. Good food fast and tastes great. Grab your sodas from the cooler.Extra pita bread no problem. Lunch or dinner.

We happened on this restaurant by chance in the Greenwood area of Seattle and discovered a simple local place with exceptional food. The restaurant is family run with the father doing the outstanding cooking, the son taking orders and the charming mother serving. While the servings are a bit on the small side, the tastes and textures are superlative. We were super surprised to find such good Mediterranean food in a local place.

Stopped in for lunch and were stunned at the amazing food! Perfectly seasoned chicken shawerma, outstanding smoky baba ghanoush with a sprinkling of sumac and pomegranate seeds and great Egyptian-style hummus. But it was the brilliant ta'ameya (falafal made Egyptian-style with fava beans!) that will bring us back. I have eaten shawerma, baba ghanoush and falafal in Europe, Israel and Palestine. The hummus was just a little grainier than I prefer, but nicely balanced flavors, and the shawerma was really impressive. The marinated eggplant was also fantastic! But the falafal really stole the show...perfectly crusted and tender on the inside. The folks running the place are friendly without being pushy. The place is small and we must have walked by it a dozen times. Glad we stopped this time and we will definitely be back!

We always stop at the Hummus cafe when we catch a show at Taproot theater. The gyros are to die for. The meat is perfectly cooked and seasoned, the pita bread is pillowy soft, and tatziki is perfect. We have come here often enough when we walk in our order is being prepared. Love these people. They are so nice.
Best middle eastern restaurant in Seattle by far!!!
One of the best middle eastern food in Seattle by far. It is the cleanest low prices restaurant I have ever been in…period. The falafel is the best I have ever had, it seems to be very authentic (green on the inside). The sweets are die for, the eggplant sandwiches are the most delicious I have ever had anywhere.
