Good steak

By SeaB2128 |

Very Good steak cooked perfectly. Sides potato & spinach are good too but over priced at $10 - $12 each

Everything was perfect

By sannycat |

It has become less and less common for me to go to a high end steakhouse and review it as perfect. Sometimes the service is what you might expect from Applebees, or the steak is temperature is off. Every single thing was perfect. The staff nice and engaging yet not trying to be part of your dinner party, presentation was beautiful, food quality was excellent...perfectly prepared.

Best Birthday Ever!!

By Ezekial E |

I’ve been to multiple all inclusive resorts, high end steakhouses, and top level restaurants. I can honestly say that David provided better service than any other place I’ve been. They caught wind early on that it was my birthday, and at random points throughout the night various staff members came up to ask how I was and wish me happy birthday. David was always attentive to our needs, provided insight into the different dishes, and provided recommendations that followed our lead. We were all extremely satisfied with the food, and they threw in the most delicious chocolate cake for a birthday surprise. We will be back here again!

Xmas Eve in Austin The only place open !

By teresamaria77 |

Great food, great service, nice cocktails. We popped in here as it was the only place open. Austin just reached stage 5 so not much open downtown. Thankfully the roaring fork is open! A nice fire burning. Good buzz in the bar 😊 I mean it’s Xmas Eve who isn’t happy covid n all! Thanks guys you rock 🎄❤️🇬🇧

Nice Meal

By KEG-Oct2016 |

Nice location, great atmosphere, food very good (had pork chops). Great service. Nice wine selection. Should expand menu.

Great meal

By GSMIII |

Had a NYE celebratory dinner here with friends. Service, food and ambience were outstanding. Steaks were perfect. Sides were also spot on. Eat a lot of beef in Austin, best experience yet.

Incredible Food & Service

By RDw |

We had a Private Business Dinner for VIP Customer for 70 people. Incredible Food & Impeccable Service. I had a bone-in Ribeye and my wife had a Sea Bass. Perfectly cooked and the TX Pecan Cake topped everything off.

Birthday Dinner

By Raj N |

It was my 55th Birthday and what can I say but III Forks went above our expectations. What a way to celebrate. Great Steaks cooked to perfection. The staff highly intelligent, professional, knowledgable, and yet very personable. They understood we were celebrating even with a toddler, gave us just enough attention. They located us in a room with another family and another table celebrating an anniversary which was great we (collectively) did not disturb others that were there on business or more romantic dining experience. That was very smart. Loved everything

Steaks were cooked perfect

By TXPanda |

Good steak house. Atmosphere nice. Service was incredible. The French Onion soup was very good. House salad was good. Alcoholic drinks were outstanding. Prairie 75 was perfect for my wife. Tito martini with bacon and blues cheese stuffed olives, yum. Scallops for an appetizer were really goo.

Great place for a celebration!

By Catherine T |

We enjoyed ourselves a lot here. It was a fancy steakhouse so obviously expensive, but less so than others we have been to. The service was great.

Superlative in every way.

By Blain E |

Dark paneled, low lit steakhouse with exceptional service. The seafood dishes are so artfully prepared they might steal the show from the prime steaks. The side dishes are generous and delicious - served family style, with the server placing them on your plate. The night we were there, a jazz trio was playing in the bar. 5 star cuisine. 5 star service. 5 star atmosphere. Expensive and worth every penny.

Awesome service and food!

By Randious13 |

Came to this restaurant in a group of 6 I had made our reservation 5 months ahead because of the Formula One race that we we're all in town for and I'm so glad I did it started the trip off right. We we're sitting at the bar waiting for our table when Earnest approached us and began talking to my husband and was very friendly and welcomed us to Austin as our whole party had never been until that night and he was able to seat us in the new wine room which was almost completed. We really enjoyed everyone's service as well as the great food. The lobster bisque and lobster mac and cheese was delish as well as the steaks. We will definitely come back again.

Oyster bliss happy hour

By Hystericalhappiness |

We sat at the bar with great service from Jessica. Happy hour daily until 7 pm. Oysters are only $1! We shared a dozen that were from the East Coast. I enjoyed the himachi crudo, incredible onion rings, and $5 prosecco. My husband raved about the lobster bisque, $5 Martini, and a $10 perfectly cooked hamburger. We will be back!

Very Good Steak House

By Steve M |

Steaks had excellent flavor, the corn is a must have and mashed potatoes were very flavorful, service was prompt and friendly and found a really nice Tuscan wine on the list that was reasonably priced. (Apparently Texans haven’t learned about Tuscan wines yet) Take an Uber as you are as likely to find an albino bat over your head as a parking spot. (Or those cool scooters) 75-100 a head with wine. We had filet and cap. Cap needed to be trimmed a bit more but was very tasty

Special valentine dinner

By Mirasaki |

Everything was quite lovely. The service was on time and accommodating. The food was quite tasty and the dessert was alright, but showed the focus was the steak at this steakhouse.

One of my Favorite Places

By markboyd2018 |

Fantastic Steaks, sides, wine, service, and overall place to have a family meal. Our waiter made sure every person's meal was just what they wanted. I will return next time I am in Austin.

What a treat!

By 815sue |

Fine dining downtown within walking distance of most hotels. Attended a business dinner, pre-determined menu with several choices. The service was flawless, coordination of serving everyone was perfect. The steak was done to perfection, wonderful flavor, and so tender. Lobster bisque, garlic mashed potatoes, and asparagus melted complimented the dinner. Save room for the chocolate cake, it will melt in your mouth!

Best Anniversary Celebration Ever!

By Compass782373 |

Food was out of this world and the waitstaff beyond compare. Our waiter, Don, provided the BEST service with a side of humor. Highly recommend asking for him by name if you visit. Everyone from the hostess to management went out of their way to make our evening special. Very highly recommend for a special night out!

Meat festival

By Don R |

Incredible service and excellent food are the first things that come to mind after our visit to III Forks. I had the filet and it was cooked to perfection. The wedge salad was fresh and crisp and the wine selection was extensive. If you want a great steak and a fantastic atmosphere then this is your place!

Birthday dinner!

By C H |

Impeccable service from when you walk in the door. The sea bass with lobster risotto was so delicious! My husband had the filet and said it was very good. We shared the Brussels sprouts and mash potatoes all great! Then crème brûlée for dessert! Excellent all the way!

Mediocre at Best

By WorldTraveler |

To start the service was poor. Staff didn't seem to care and they were busy on their phones. Didn't bother to mention we were celebrating a birthday. Food was even worse. Steak was so bland it didn't seem like they did anything other than cook the steak and throw it on a plate. Would never recommend.

Great experience and good service

By bridget k |

My daughter and I dined here on a busy Friday evening. The waitstaff was very attentive, although busy, we felt very pampered. The timing of our service was spot on, which allowed us to sit and enjoy our time together. Steaks were perfectly cooked and tasted lovely. The jazz music coming from the bar was a nice touch.

Best RIB eye I’ve ever had

By NickL785 |

If you live blue cheese start with the wedge salad. I had the 22ok boneless ribeye and it was probably the best I’ve ever had.

Amazing food and service

By Amanda015 |

Celebrated my son's 14th birthday. Wonderful service and the food was fantastic-- get the special butter for your steak!!! We will definitely come back to this place.

Milestone celebration

By mr_larry_smith |

Great venue and service. Eaten and entertained at a couple of their restaurants. Sadly this time my steak was cooked to death. My medium rare came very well done.

Excellent food and nice staff.

By Amelio C |

I ordered a NY sirloin steak, medium and it was excellent. As side dish I had the rosted mushrooms and they were very tasty. Before, as appetizer, a wedge salad very good. To drink a glass of Malbec, well structured. The staff has been very attentive. The restaurant was not noisy even there were many tables occupied. A very good experience.

Excellent

By hugmee |

A excellent steakhouse with great service , wine and steak cooked to perfection , topped with the crown butter is awesome

Perfect steak, very good service

By Santiago C |

I went to Austin for business and had a dinner at III Forks,my steak was very good and the service superb

Worth the Price!

By LHWIndiana |

My two coworkers and I visited when we were in town for business. Everything we had was delicious! The filet was cooked perfectly. We also loved the appetizer, a fried lobster dish. The atmosphere is sophisticated and classy but not pretentious. While it's a bit on the pricey side, I feel like part of what you pay for is service and the service was top-notch! The wait staff was friendly and very attentive; our water glasses were never empty and the waiter checked on us just the right amount. We all agreed we made an excellent choice and it was worth thr price!

Excellent experience

By NYAdvisor |

Went to III Forks for my best friends bachelor party. Service was perfect- Don was our waiter and made sure that our meal was incredible. Would highly recommend to anyone coming with a large group.

Great food, service and excellent for special occassions

By luvhawaii707 |

From the moment you enter you feel special. Wonderful food, excellent service, and my favorite, Texas pecan cake. Oh and the filet was perfectly prepared. Wine list extensive. I always stop here whenever I’m in Austin. Well worth it.

Great meal, impeccable service

By Rick R |

What a truly wonderful dining experience. The service was without a doubt the best I have ever experienced. The meal was absolutely amazing. I strongly recommend this wonderful steakhouse and if I ever get back to Austin, Texas, this restaurant is at the top of my list for a great meal.

Nice place with good food.

By TravelinFoolChicago |

This is a good place to go for happy hour. You can get $5 house wine that is decent, $1 oysters, and discounted burgers. There are other drink specials as well. Check it out.

Best RIb eye I’ve ever had

By Guide632113 |

Probably the best steak I’ve had it my life. Had the 22oz boneless and it was literally melting in my mouth. I had the wedge salad as a starter and if you love blue cheese, give it a try.

I would love to go again❣️

By Goodfood |

Very solid steak house in downtown with a beautiful setting🤓It was a very nice adventure...🦋🦋I’ll never forget the taste of “bone in New York strip” . Very good quality of 🥩 Service is great and very attentive.Dont miss it ❣️

Would go again and again! Best waiter was Joshua

By sarahcorrin7 |

Dinned here with three other friends. Joshua gave us amazing service( honest opinions on food and wine options), chatted with us about our night. The service was top service and it was great to be visiting from out of town with such genuine service. We have steak houses in Nebraska and they are lovely but the service here is the best I’ve had at a steak house. I wanted to go back the next night for another dinner. Food was amazing, filet was cooked perfectly!

The best in Austin

By Peter N |

Great vibe at the iii Forks. Friendly staff great steaks and wines. Private dinning is perfect for business dinners. Balanced 4 course menu's.

Great Food wonderful service!

We celebrated my sons 25 birthday. Service was excellent and the food was phenomenal. We had chicken fried lobster as an appetizer and it was wonderful! Our steak was perfectly cooked. Dessert was awesome.

Best steak in Austin

By Pioneer638423 |

Took family here after long day in Austin. Nice music and great food. The NY strip I had was prepared perfectly and delicious. Everything was great there. Service was above and beyond excellent. This was the best steak I have had in Austin.

Vacation

By russ d |

I took my family to this restaurant based on a recommendation from a local.... this place is worth a visit.... really good atmosphere, great wine selection, the food was on another level. I had a bone in filet... a rare cut, and the chef did not disappoint. My wife had the sea bass and it was wonderfully prepared. The server was very knowledgeable about the wine paring and the side dishes are served family style. We were treated like we were the only people in the place and it was rather busy. We had reservations and were seated immediately upon arrival. This was a culinary experience. Well worth the cost.

One of the best restaurants to go in austin!

By Gregory M |

Frist time having dinner at 3 forks. Food was stellar! Talk about ambience Our server Pedro was awesome. He was knowledgeable, attentive, and gave us all the right recommendations. To put icing on the cake, the manager Teric (I hope I'm spelling that right) came by talked with us and made sure we had an great time. He gave us samples of bourbon, after dessert drinks and dessert on him. 5 star manager, give that man a raise! Will definitely be back because of the staff. Thanks for a wonderful night out!!

An absolute MUST

By Josh C |

We were looking for a restaurant to celebrate the last night of our US road trip as we celebrated our anniversary. We based our decision on previous reviews and we selected III Forks and boy are we glad we did! We did not make a reservation and were greeted by a warm a friendly hostess. When seated we got talking and mentioned that it was our anniversary. We were seated and Edgar our server came over who set the scene for the rest of the evening! Cocktail recommendations, fabulous knowledge of steaks, with recommendations galore based on his personal preferences and previous feedback! With a mild dairy intolerance the team were incredibly attentive in helping adapt dishes to suit. Regularly checking back and explaining the adjustments made by the kitchen. The steaks were honestly one of the best steaks I’ve ever eaten in my life! The garlic and truffle butter was beautiful! To finish the evening we were pleasantly surprised when the team bought out a lovely plate with ‘happy anniversary’ on it with two pieces of Texas pecan pie and a glass of champagne each! It was the perfect end to a perfect evening! Thank you to Edgar and every single member of the team for your efforts and helping us celebrate. Our evening was truly memorable. An absolute MUST if you are ever in Austin! Date of reservation - Tuesday 15th April.

Excellent food, great service but

By Denis D |

Environment is way too dark. Yes your eyes adjust but I’m always concerned with such a dark place when the cleanliness is like. Food: - fantastic steak (14oz picture) cooked perfect as ordered and just right amount of spices - spinach was cooked just right - bread (freshly baked) was awesome * something different was server came around with tray of tomatoes and onion which was a nice add

Amazing food!

By Cheryl |

We had the seafood sampler to start and had a bit of everything - oysters, shrimp, crab claws, and lobster. Everything was fresh and delicious. I ordered the baseball steak and it was tender and flavourful. I highly recommend the truffle butter. Absolutely delish!

Date Night

By Jesse C |

My wife and I wanted to do something special tonight. Tonight we wanted to spoil ourselves and spend a little money. She ordered the filet mignon which she loved, as for me, I ordered the Wagyu Bone-in Ribeye. I almost cried the first bite I took. It is by far the most delicious cut of meat I have ever tasted. The sides were a nice add on. Our next visit to Austin we will most definitely be dining at III Forks again. Maybe then my wife will order the Wagyu Ribeye.

You say "Wagyu," I say, "Wow!"

By Charlie B |

A friend told me about the Kobe beef steaks that are raised here in Texas and I had to try this place on a Monday evening. There was no trouble getting a table at 8:00 and Marie made certain I had everything I needed. My interest was in the Wagyu New York strip and that was complimented with bernaise and melted butter on the side with a side dish of sautéed spinach. With an iced tea, my bill came to about $110, then they were so kind as to give me a military discount. I went high on the tip, owing to the lesson in Kobe beef that Marie gave me. It was a fine and warm evening on a cold and rainy day.

Birthday Dinner

By Jerry H |

Over the past 3 years we been in search of the best Austin Steak house, I think we found it. Very nice decor (a little dark). We had 7:15 reservations and we were immediately seated. We had great service thanks to our waiter (Bradley). Everything was served promptly and timely. The cocktails were great. The Onion soup was great (Not salty like most place). III Forks salad was very good. Our Filets perfectly cooked. The broccoli side was good, nothing special. Desert we split the cheesecake made with a touch of honey. Which you can taste. Very good. Coffee was also good. Expensive although to be expected . The above dinner about $160. About $160 for the above dinner.

Best Restaurant Decision!!!

By BarbieJoyce |

In town for a UT game and heard about this restaurant for a great steak!! They didn’t disappoint. Delicious Ribeye and Filet. Six Cheese Potatoes were addicting. Service was the hi light. Mick was amazing!!! Highly recommend.

Disappointing Service... It's to bad!

By Gary_Colorado_Mtn |

We were in Austin for the weekend and wanted to visit some of the nicer restaurants in Austin. We found III Forks and made a reservation for that evening. When we arrived we were escorted to our table, where things service started to slip. It was a little strange that it took as long as it did for the waiter to take our drink order but, it was a busy night so, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. About 10 minutes later 3 of 4 drinks arrived. The waiter apologize for the missing drink and took our order. About 15 minutes later, our round of appetizers showed up at the table but, we were still missing one of our drinks but, the time the waiter circle back, the rest of the table was ready to order a second drink but, we still hadn't received one drink. Unfortunately, service seemed to decline even more. This is a premium restaurant with premium prices but, the service just fell down. To leave you on a good note, the steak I had was excellent! It was cooked to perfection as were the other items we ordered. Unfortunately, I will not be returning here on our next trip. There are too many excellent restaurants in Austin to put up with this poor level of service.

Undergoing some renovations

By 64Jag |

Undergoing some renovations so the ambiance is somewhat diminished. The fireplace is a nice touch. The tv is out of place in an upscale steakhouse. Service was very good. Wine list was good but our first two selections were not available. Why are they on the list? Steaks were cooked perfectly as were the sides. Prices add up quickly so expect to pay at least $100 per person. Nothing special here.

Great steak

By Smp441 |

We were recommended this restaurant and it didn’t disappoint. The steaks were excellent cooked to perfection. The waiters and staff were extremely friendly. There’s music and great atmosphere. It’s a good location opposite the river.

Pricy but excellent

By YumGuru |

Large group business dinner meeting held here. Very accommodating staff with excellent menu options on wine and food . Rack of lamb was enough for two people.

The story is steak

By Lufdoc |

Though there are great non-beef offerings, steak is king (and fabulous). The quality of the beef and the excellence of the sear make this a destination steakhouse. Redfish special w/ lobster risotto was great, as was chicken-fried lobster appetizer. Bread pudding dessert was meh, but creme brûlée was good (if you like grand mariner).

Outstanding food & service!

By Rose Anne C |

Great steakhouse (although I had salmon)! We had a large private party. The food & service was really outstanding. I had salmon filet - would have had steak but I’d had steak at lunch. Some of the best prepared salmon I’ve ever had. Nice mashed potatoes, excellent salad, lots of nice wine choices. Really, everything was wonderful. The restaurant was lovely, too - in an older building. Very nice restroom.

One of the best steaks we have ever eaten

By YatesSuffolk |

A traditional steakhouse with great food. Friendly, knowledgeable service from our server Sam made the evening relaxed and welcoming. The steaks are incredible quality and the portions are large (we probably over ordered!).

Great House special Filet Mignon

By Brian C |

Great place and you can reserve on open table. Each of us had a Filet special cut. Fantastic and nice open vibe. Also had a couple Expresso martinis. I highly recommend as I get tired or steak chains and like to try local places instead!

Outstanding Service!

By The World is My Oyster |

Our server Joe definitely made the evening for us. He was extremely attentive, friendly, and very professional. The atmosphere is definitely real nice, and definitely high end. The shrimp cocktail was really good, but $20 for 4 shrimp is definitely overpriced. That being said, they were slightly bigger, and very fresh. The 6oz filet was perfectly cooked, tender, and just amazing! We were actually able to cut it with a fork! The sides were slightly expensive, but totally worth it. The mash potatoes were awesome and the shitake mushrooms unbelievable! For dessert, the creme brulee was just fantastic! Great atmosphere, amazing food, and outstanding customer service. It is definitely expensive though, but totally worth it. Thank you Joe for an awesome evening!

Great Job in Trying Times

Kudos to III Forks. What a wonderful meal, wonderful staff, creating an inviting atmosphere respecting their customers and giving them the freedom to enjoy one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Thanks!!!!!

Top Tier Steakhouse In Downtown Austin

By MacAtlantaGa_ |

Enjoyed a fabulous business dinner at III Forks. I had one of the best wagyu Steaks ever, as did many others. The private dinning room is exceptional for a large business group. Wine list is exceptional and service was spot on.

By joanne l |

Fabulous meal and service. Expensive but worth it. We ate in one of the private rooms because of Covid concerns.

Excellent Dinner

By LPogo |

We had about 13 people in our group and everyone seemed to really enjoy their dinners. I had the bone in filet and it may have been the best steak I have ever eaten. The flavor was incredible and it was cooked perfectly. Would definitely go back when visiting Austin again.

Austin’s finest Steaks

By Timothy J |

Great food with top notch service. Would definitely recommend this to anyone and I will be back when in town.

Excellent!!!

By mjlandon99 |

Started in the bar, Jeff took wonderful care of us! Cozy, dark steakhouse. Our waiter Don was great too, food was amazing! Will definitely come back!

Best of Austin

By TAMU79 |

This is the top steak restaurant in Austin. Service is impeccable. Our server, Mickey, proved attentive service and excellent suggestions. My wife is not a fan of steaks and had the veggie ravioli- she loved it. Side portions are large. Ribeye steak was huge and also fantastic! Desserts are a must, just ask Mickey for suggestions! Our exceptional evening dining experience will linger in our minds for a long time! Can’t wait to come back!

Couldn't wait to eat here

By NaplesDoc |

Always heard about III Forks. Went for a business meeting. They were gracious and accommodating as my flight to Austin was late and they stored my luggage for me. I ordered a filet which was tasty and perfectly cooked. The side were delicious and the cheesecake was outstanding. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire evening. If I go back to Austin, I will definitely dine here.

Not worth the price

By Beth G |

Unfortuneately, for the price, not worth it. Steak was amazing- wow- but the sea bass for $80 was terrible. Mashed potatoes, nothing special. Asked for coffee and had to remind waitress 20 minutes later. Put in the back room that others have refered to on reviews, no windows, nothing nice- like a reception room at a hotel. There are so many great places in Austin, I would not go here.

Excellent steak house

By gl0baltraveler |

This is an good steak house with excellent service. I’m rating my 4/5 because I ordered my ribeye medium and it was medium on the edges but medium rare in the middle. Still, the food was delicious. Prices are through the roof

Excellent meal

By Mimi L |

We ate here with a big group of business associates. The staff was attentive to our party of 15, though a few side dishes were late in arriving to the table. The bone marrow appetizer was fantastic! Def recommend splurging on that dish. The wedge salad was nicely prepared as well. Our steaks were cooked properly and really didn’t need any of the extra toppings, they were quite tasty!

You get pick your steak knife!!

This place was superb. Our waitress Jameca was so helpful & knowledgeable when it came to menu questions & suggestions. The food was top tier and the cook on the steak & scallops was immeasurable! Highly recommend!

Excellent Steak House

By TravelWell040 |

We wanted to try iii Forks for many years. Finally we went there on December 1. We ordered the 6 oz. Filet Mignon. It was prepared to perfection; one medium, the other one medium well. Service was very good. A word of caution: the lighting is dim to the point that many patrons, including us, had to use a lighting aid provided by the wait staff or the cell phone light. The wine choices are excellent of which our server had a good grasp. The rooms are fairly quiet so a conversation at the table can be heard. I do recommend reservations. Great dining experience.

Woundedful Steaks

By Steven K |

On a cold Saturday night in January, we were warmly welcomed and escorted to comfortable table. The servers listed well to our questions, and then recomended a umber of fantastic choices. We enjoyed the meal and the wait staff very much.

Excellent Restaurant

By luvhawaii707 |

Excellent restaurant with a wide selection of steaks and other entrees. The filet was perfect along with the sides of mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. Save room for the Texas Pecan Cake. It’s amazing. If you get seated in Hannah’s section you’re very lucky. She is that good. Thanks for another memorable evening.

Best steak in town

By H319LIronw |

One of the best steaks I have ever had - a great atmosphere and the family style side dishes are fantastic.

Very busy - ran out of Italian wine

By sunshinenow66 |

Service was so variable, we come here every year for F1, and the first years this was the best. This year, service was mixed, one diner not having their meal until we were almost finished, Wine choices were either not available, or just one bottle. The steak, as such was a sever great, but they need to get their game back up on the overall package.

Elegant and nice

By Robert G |

Oysters on the half-shell were small, but nice presentation. Bacon wrapped scallops were absolutely tasty. Brussel sprouts were very nice. Pleasant dining area. Great choice.

Pedro is the man!!!

Great steaks and experience. Exceptional service. All courses were great. Pedro made it worth it. Dry aged steak was a great presentation and even better steak. The signature butter was not needed but a wonderful addition. Wife had bone in filet - excellent choice.

Best of trip, worth the $$

By Hazel O |

Don took wonderful care of us, seating us near the fireplace on this chilly night, making wonderful menu and drink suggestions, and the general wait service was impeccable. The owner treated us to delightful dessert drinks to celebrate our special occasion, too. My companions loved their steaks, and my chops were fantastic. The lamb meatball appetizer was out of this world, and the sides we had with dinner, especially the creamed corn, were exceptional as well. Don't miss this place where you'll feel like royalty.

Mr

By Ronald L |

Went to have a quiet birthday dinner and the appetizer was subpar. We suggested how we thought it should be prepared and at first they were very gracious. When we asked for the manager he came to the table and started gathering our plates and asking us to leave or he would call the police. He said we only wanted something for nothing. He asked us never to come back. I can assure him that we will not be back.

a must dining experience!!

By P. Darrell Kimbrell |

If this restaurant is not on your bucket list then you must add it! Simply superb!!! Let's begin with the reservation process which was straight forward and simple.... With a table reserved in the dining room, it was a short walk from my hotel to one of the most refreshing dining experiences in some time. Walking into the restaurant, we were warmly greeted by all the hostesses and whisked away to the table in one of their smaller dining rooms (I had requested "table" seating as opposed to "bar" seating and am glad I did as the bar seating was quite loud and not conducive to quiet conversation). Within moments of being seated, our glasses were being filled with water and shortly thereafter our server appeared and took our drink orders. After receiving our drinks, our server appeared and explained the current appetizers - an order of chicken fried lobster was placed and was the most disappointing part of the experience - personally, I would not choose this item again. Service was at it best and clearly one of the strongest suits for this restaurant. Atmosphere of the dining room was excellent. Conversation was easy as the room was carpeted absorbing of sound. Food - my steak was served just as I wanted, the mashed potatoes came close to my momma's and the key lime pie for desert is to die for so save some room In my opinion, a can't miss experience - I'll be back again!

Amazing meal with my party of 15

By dianamom |

Amazing meal with my party of 15! Brad and Eduardo were awesome servers. The food was to die for. Don’t miss it if you are in Austin!

Excellent dining experience!

By David F |

We have been there many times and it has never disappointed. The last time was for our anniversary dinner and we had the bone in filet. It was great but I would not pay the additional price over a regular filet the next time. The cream corn side was delicious and the green onions and tomatoes they bring to the table are a very nice touch. We took home some of the chocolate cake which was delicious. The chef always drops by to ask about the meal, so we always feel that they really care.

Wonderful steak

By NanKVan |

Great food and great atmosphere. I ordered the 6oz filet and it was so tender you could cut it with a fork. We had a side of the beat scalloped potato I’ve ever had. Steak was cooked to perfection and service was great! I would definitely go back.

Last minute dinner idea

By Mimi_Ann2013 |

Great ambiance and service. Dishes that were excellent include the wedge salad, the yummy pecan cake, and the sautéed spinach. My husband said his filet was delicious. I thought mine was good but not superb. Kudos to our server!

Mark of a great restaurant is quality of wait staff who makes you feel welcome

By Cathy1968877 |

What my girlfriends and I found as the best quality at III Forks was the service provided by Maria. She treated us like family from the beginning of the meal to the end. She helped us roll through a tasty meal at Happy Hour prices so that we could make a concert at ACL down the street.

Everything you could want!

By lillypuggles |

We went to lll Forks for a very special dinner. The attention that we received was evident from the start. Staff stop by to make sure you have everything you need...while keeping a discreet to distance so you can enjoy your moments. Dinner was aged ranch beef ...that delighted. Creme brûlée was outstanding! If you are looking for something a little more low key....the in-house bar with local music is perfect. Same attention to service...just more upbeat and spontaneous!

Delicious meal

By Rick S |

We ate thre last nite with friends. We’re all from New Orleans, so, frankly, we’re picky and have high expectations regarding food. The food here did not disappoint- from the bone in filet, to the brussell sprout side, to the III Forks salad, to dessert. All was delicious, fresh, hot, and fully met our highest expectations. The live music was a plus. Beautiful, place with incredible wine vault. Only reason this is a 4 and not a 5 is that our wait staff, who started out great, disappeared for 30” + —- we had to go find someone else to take our order. Never an explanation nor apology when she re-showed. Weird. The rest of the staff was great, so not sure what that was about.

The best steakhouse

By Teddy |

This place is simply the best steakhouse in all of Austin. We both had a porterhouses steak. Wow. Be sure to try the Crabcake Creole beurre blanc - to die for. Staff are super friendly and attentive.

Outstanding

By TravelCouple21 |

If you like steak, you found right place. We started at bar then moved to table. There was eight and all severed together throughout night. Started with bone marrow wagu, lobster bites and scallops. All were excellent and wagu had a very cool presentation. Entrees, were mostly steaks with a couple filets, couple ribeyes and a couple NY’s. All were seasoned perfect and cooked perfect. Delicious. Even the fish was excellent. Service was great. Sommelier helped us pick a wine in our price range, server very attentive, fun and made sure table was serviced and crumbed. Dessert we just did but we were already stuffed. Nice job!

Steaks on steaks

III Forks is rated the best steakhouse in Austr for a reason. The food is phenomenal and the service is fabulous. If you are on the city, check it out!

Excellent service made for a great evening

By Adrian W |

We have never found it necessary to spend a large amount of money on a large piece of meat, but since we were in Texas we thought we would give it a try. We were not disappointed, as the meat (and accompaniments) was excellent - it was nice to get such good quality lamb though a shame the staff were unaware of the provenance. The drinks were great, but the best part of the evening was the service we received, which was of the highest quality. Friendly and engaging while efficient. Definitely recommended.

Exceptional Special Event - A White-glove Experience without the White Gloves

By Patricia B |

We held our son's Rehearsal Dinner at III Forks in Austin hosting 70+ dinner guests. The event was exceptional! Every detail was meticulously attended, and the wait staff was extremely professional and proactive in pleasing our guests. Many of our friends raved specifically about the level of service. This reflects well on the management team. Food – excellent quality. Guests ordered from a 4-course menu where our guests could select from a wide variety of menu options and add-ons. Every plate was beautifully plated, and everyone seemed to be plated together. The coordination of the food service was impeccable. We had open bar and a variety of high-end wines for the evening. People raved about the event, and I credit III Forks for making this an evening to remember. Venue – Because we had 70+ guests, we used the Waterloo Room, which was gorgeous, dark, and moody; lined with white linen tables. We brought in our own décor to personalize the space. The staff ensured the room looked amazing when we walked in. Staff – one word - Exceptional. Kudos to Maureen our Event Manager, Event Captain Brent, and their amazing staff - Sherry, Sam, Pedro, Ben, Rama and Austin. Experience – if you want a white-glove experience without the white gloves, I highly recommend III Forks in downtown Austin.

great restaurant

By Nicole K |

III Forks did not disappoint. The steak was delicious, the appetizers were scrumptious. Wide variety of wine and holiday drinks. Our servers were professional and very helpful. A must see when in Austin.

Excellent steak and service!

By BackinthUK |

After having a less than great steak the night before, this restaurant showed how it should be cooked. Perfectly medium-rare rib eye with great sear and flavour. Sides were excellent, especially the brussels sprouts and the wine list decent. Excellent service throughout. Recommended!!!

Attention to detail and a delicious steak

By TheKodiak |

Came on a Sunday night in May and enjoyed a very nice meal. The service from entry into the restaurant, all the way through, was impeccable. Everyone who attended our table was friendly, attentive and professional. This is a high-end steak house, so come here to eat steak! Plenty of different sizes and choices and some big enough to share. Appetizers were excellent, and the steaks were all cooked to the requested level of "doneness". Some up-selling of add-ons but more of a suggestion than a hard sell. Had a very good version of a "New Fashioned" for a starting beverage, which was made with a French Whisky and a cherry liquor that was delicious. Bring your wallet, it's not cheap, but it's well worth it.

Mick is the best!

By jz426 |

Mick was great and the food was excellent. Great place to celebrate! my friends birthday. Nice yet casual and comfortable vibe.

25th Anniversary Dinner for the win.

By Janine M |

Best meal we have had in Austin and we’ve been here 15 years. Definitely on the expensive side but the side of being oh-so-worth-it. The service was also the best we’ve experienced in Austin and that’s saying a lot because I don’t think we’ve had a notably bad one anywhere. But they make you feel like royalty here, it was like we had our own butler that anticipated our every need. Loved it.

Outstanding!

By Steve A |

A fantastic steak. I had the Boneless RibEye and it was right up there with the best steaks I’ve had... and believe me, I’ve had a lot of good steaks!! This is bookmarked for sure; I will be back again!!

Another great place to try in Austin

By Jernigan_janna |

Dark lots of wood, men in suits taking your order. Kinda like an old speakeasy. But it’s a wonderful Steakhouse and on the menu is seafood - meaning lobster tails, shrimp and crab legs. Drinks and dinner were fabulous! Our first time to Austin and we walked back to our hotel which was close.

We wanted a Texas steak and we got it!

By Lynn S |

Everyone told me and my friend we must have a steak while in Texas. While walking around Austin we came across this place, looked at the menu and thought it looked interesting, so we booked. The inside of the restaurant is quite dark, almost like a gentleman’s club. We sunk into our comfy booth seats and our waitress made us feel very welcome. I went for a bone in ribeye and my friend had a fillet. The sides we’re huge so we just had asparagus and I opted for blue cheese crumbles on top. It was outstanding! Highly recommend this place.

Amazing service and food

By Skillz4Dee |

My sister and I ate here and we really enjoyed our dinner. We started with the chicken fried lobster and it was so different and delicious. Our waiter Dennis was very nice and attentive and enthusiastic about the food served there and explained all the food in detail and made wonderful recommendations. I had a filet cooked perfectly, the iii Forks salad and peanut butter pie for desert was amazing. Very enjoyable dinner. I also had a great martini with the blue cheese and bacon stuffed olives and it was fantastic.

Mediocre at best!

By Chris O |

Was planned for a SPECIAL night. Soups and Ahi Tuna was amazing, onion rings not so much...The Boneless Ribeye was one of the best steaks but the presentation just WASNT! Meat on a plate. Server was just like the meal sometimes good sometimes NOT SO MUCH. The sides were lackluster, the $20 lobster mac'n'cheese was HORRIBLE! The Guitar playing was so loud conversations were impossible. You spend more that $400 you would expect so Much More....

Delicious steak

By ShellyAus |

Go for the steak. Absolutely delicious. Perfectly cooked. Nice atmosphere and great friendly service too.

Delicious, high quality, great service.

By Hannah S |

Cocktails and wine were lovely, list is extensive so there is something for everyone and a good selection. Server was knowledgeable and let us know that we were ordering too many sides, which was great! She could have just let us over order but that shows good service. I'm also a meat snob and was asking questions about Wagyu and USDA which she was able to answer well. I wish I could remember her name to mention personally but she really looked after us well. I had scallops, which were cooked perfectly. The Brioche served with our starters was warm and fresh, we all had steak with a variety of sides and everything was hot, tasty. My steak was cooked well - it was perfectly rare - although I did ask for 'very rare' so could personally have gone a little more blue, but the server did tell me it would be 'flat rare' and regardless, tasted wonderful. espresso martinis and peanut butter cheesecake were perfect finishers. I'm not going to lie, it wasn't cheap, but it did feel worth it for an occasion meal of that quality. Would recommend to anyone visiting Austin and would return!

Wow.

By Florida |

This night greatly exceeded expectations. Our server, Bradley, was 5* awesome as a server and sommelier. We had excellent drinks, wine, appetizers, and meal. Desert too. Easy to ride share to and from. A great quiet romantic night - be prepared for $150pp + tip.

III forks

By John B |

Went here for dinner while in Austin Had a drink at the bar while our table was readied. Great martini. Nice bar. TV in corner but quiet. Elegant restaurant with very good service We each had the NY Strip. Cooked perfectly. I had a baked potato Bread on the table was really good. Very nice steakhouse with everything positive. Check it out

Impressive quality, preparation and service

By AvaE27 |

This is a dark, masculine restaurant featuring beef, perfect for celebrations and business meetings. All of the steaks were outstanding, perfectly prepared, tender and delicious. Definitely try the Kings butter on them which is a truffle, honey, foie gras. The fish choices were also amazing. The side dishes are all large enough to share. We loved the roast mushrooms and the lobster Mac and cheese. Enjoy the excellent wine selection too. The service was spot on.

Pricey, but first class

By christyculli |

We loved our visit last night. The kids had plenty to choose from on the kids menu. The kids meals were under $20, but not by much. Their filets were delicious, but you must get the sauces that come on top of the steaks. My son has the Parmesan crust on his steak. Delicious. The Parmesan was about half an inch thick! My sauce was very savory. It had honey in it, but wasn’t sweet at all. Superb! We had several appetizers. Fried onion rings were awful. Very thigh and hard as a rock. The fried lobster and asparagus was incredible as were the HUGE crab legs and butter. The family style sides were okay. Nothing too impressive. We had mashed potatoes and lobster Mac and cheese. It was good, but nothing to write home about. The money is on the steaks and sauces. 5 Stars!! We didn’t have dessert because we were stuffed. Overall, loved the ambiance. Even the bathrooms were first class. We loved it. ;)

Absolutely the best steakhouse in Austin, Texas!

By RubiconKirk |

III Forks is the most amazing steakhouse, not just an Austin, but potentially in the United States. The steaks are incredible, the staff is so friendly and works so well as a team together to make your experience completely seamless. I have to call out Andrew, our server, he was so attentiveand made such great recommendations of the menu. Thank you so much!

Amazing Food & Service

By Greg K |

Emily Stevens was awesome to work with as she coordinated my group of 18 for a memorable dinner. She was so easy to work with and made planning so simple. We loved the private room and our servers Nick and Josh went above and beyond to provide us with amazing service. I had the surf and turf and truly enjoyed it. The kitchen did not disappoint either. We had a nice variety of food all cooked to perfection. A must visit when you are in Austin.

Great experience

By kickinkitn |

My husband and I had a really great experience at the III Forks in Austin. They had a great happy hour and our server John was super friendly and attentive. Additionally, the manager Brian cane around to the various tables ensuring everyone was happy with their experience. Overall a very nice experience with really nice food at happy hour. Would definitely recommend.

Great option for prime steaks!

By Travel X |

Great steakhouse in Austin…my steak was very good and prepared exactly as I ordered..meat quality was prime…very attentive staff

Long awaited renovations

By WhatBucketList |

There are still some renovations being done here but I am assuming that it will push this steakhouse a next level up. A little off the path of downtown but the warm and secluded feel is needed after the hustle and bustle of the city. Food - 3 Don’t see any difference from what can be offered at any high end steakhouse. There wasn’t a dish, side or appetizer that knocked my boots off. The 42 day dry aged steak was fine but I didn’t see the value of double the price versus their other steaks. Service - 4 Most all the servers are seasoned and trained. They know when to come and when to leave. Just enough attention to leave you be but there when needed. Atmosphere - 3 A dark wood old fashion steakhouse. It was not very welcoming but it was comforting. Just afraid that it may be dating itself and the current time may be flying past it. With the many choices in the city I will check other places before I return. But I do have to say, I would return for the service I received.

Food and wine and service (by Shanelle) fantastic!

By Bernadette |

The food, wine and service by Shanelle and all her helpers were fantastic! Business in town and date night with spouse made for a perfect first beautiful sunset evening in Austin!

What a great restaurant - fantastic for a party

By Smrtcpa |

We celebrated in one of the private rooms as guests at a party of dear friends. The food and service were top notch. Lobster bisque was full of flavor, steaks for a large group all cooked to each person's requested doneness and all still warm when served. The Texas Pecan cake may be one of the best cakes I have ever tasted. Ever. Anywhere. And look at my reviews - I eat out a lot - all over the world. Do not turn down the pecan cake if you come here. Everything was amazing. Kudos to a restaurant doing things right.

Steak was decent but the atmosphere was lacking

By WanderingWayfarer |

We were set in a large room off to the left of the hostess stand and it felt like a large hotel banquet room with 50 tables. Service was great and the food was good but average. My husband had their signature sauce on his steak which he raved about!

Birthday Serenade

By S S |

Ok, whatever, they weren't serenading me in particular, but they did have a live band on the night I was there, it was my birthday and, well, whatever.......hahaha The food was delicious! Our server, Alan, was the coolest, and the live band was really very talented. The lead singer sounded like Luther Vandross. WOW I had the Atlantic Salmon that was seasoned to perfection, roasted marshmallows - so good!!! (they were brought out on a platter because the portion is large enough to share with 3 people). They also brought out fresh tomatoes on a platter (fancy. hahaha). My appetizer was fried lobster chunks that was perfection!!! Because it was my birthday I had a free slice of the most scrumptious, melt in your mouth piece of strawberry cheesecake I've ever tasted in my life! *eyes rolls back in head* Everything was just perfect that night and I cant wait to go back!

Wonderful evening!

By oakland_diner |

We went to III Forks based upon reviews from Trip Advisor and found the restaurant to be “as advertised” and more. Service was outstanding - our waiter, Joshua, was everything one could hope for and chatting with him, between courses, made the evening that much more special. When we were deciding on a wine, Joshua invited us into the wine “cellar”. We were joined there by the sommelier (sorry, forgot his name) who was also very helpful and professional. The wine he recommended was great. Our dinner was delicious- steak, Caesar salad and simply sautéed spinach. We had no room left for dessert!!! Highly recommended.

Excellent food and excellent service!

By Scarlett P |

The food was excellent, but the service was by far the best we’ve ever had! Our waiter was Javier; I’m gluten intolerant and pregnant and he made sure that everything was right for me! Advised us so well on the menu etc and thought of everything, can’t even describe how incredible he was and the night was and all the rest of the staff! Best steak ever too, highly recommend.

Celebration dinner for 20+

By Weejen L |

While I do not claim to be a world traveler, I had never been anywhere like this. Dry aged steaks, impeccable service, BIG price tag. It was awesome! Our server was a gent from Ireland. He was amazing. The steaks, I had a 12 oz bone-in filet, were perfectly prepared. The steak toppings are a plus. The creme brûlée was top shelf. Excellent place for a corporate celebration or thank you party.

Group meal

By Joe P |

My visit was with a large group so the menu was predetermined but the meal was excellent (rib eye). The service was also exceptionally. Highly recommend if you are in Austin looking for a great steak.

Food was ok, overall experience not great

By V M |

The ambience was a little stuffy for our liking. We were offered a table in a crowded spot and feeling uncomfortable with all the people moving around, we asked to move and were moved to a dark corner. As for the food - the sirloin steak was good, the cauliflower steak needed flavor, the asparagus and bread pudding were ok. Our server was excellent though which we appreciated. Overall, not a repeat for us.

Mediocre Food, Irresponsible Server Practices

By Ama03 |

I attended a Christmas party/dinner , this food was just okay compared to many others. Steak was kind of bland but cooked properly. The potatoes were lacking flavor. The only thing I would say was memorable was the lobster mac and cheese. The hostesses were wonderful, a friend had her period start unexpectedly and I asked if there was a place to get something. Two of them dashed off and gave me a couple tampons, they were really kind and sweet. But overall I will never set foot here again even if I am not paying. The real thing that disgusted me is the was very disturbing the way this staff handled the party. With an open bar they were walking around pouring wine in people's glasses without consent. More than one attendee said "I was very drunk even though I was sipping on wine." Then when mentioned the servers doing that they realized the glass was never below half full. It was almost impossible to get them to come by with water but the alcohol was in excess. I witnessed three servers handing someone a beer they didn't order and he had to refuse each one.

Great Steakhouse

By heybrula |

We ate there with family. I ordered Rib eye with bone in. Beautifully cooked, medium rare, absolutely delicious. My son had a NY Strip with Bone in, wonderful. Also we had a hamburger perfectlyrics done and the other family member had a Filet, amazing dish. Sides of their potato and asparagus were perfect. It was quiet, services were excellent, the atmosphere very becoming.

UPSCALE FINE DINING

By Daryl H |

Outstanding old school and upscale Steakhouse in downtown Austin. Very attractive decor and atmosphere. Elegant yet smart Austin casual. Wonderful bar with professional staff that know how to make an excellent cocktail. They know that to make a proper martini a hard shake above the shoulder is required. Extensive wine list to compliment your dining experience. Extensive menu of prime steaks, chops and seafood. Lots of delicious appetizers and side dishes to share. Valet parking. Reservations are advised. Highly recommended!

Would fly to Austin just for this!

By boppinrobin |

The food was absolutely amazing, the ambiance was perfect. We have eaten in many countries and cities and this has been our favorite! We would fly here and stay a night just for this restaurant.

Disappointing

By James A |

Was in Austin for a concert so decided to have a steakhouse dinner before event. Service was good. Lobster bites in seasoned butter appetizer was mediocre with little flavor and no “pop”. The Gouda bacon burger on Texas toast was unremarkable. The undersized patty, although properly cooked, was dry, under seasoned, and the cheese hardened after about 5 minutes. The baseball filet was anything but. Obviously not a barrel cut and was from the large end of the tenderloin. It was properly cooked. The strip was slightly overcooked from the medium rare it was ordered. It was very under seasoned and although it had decent flavor it was a little chewy. The lobster Mac and cheese was dry with little flavor and the broccolini in garlic butter was under seasoned and could have used a few more minutes in the cooker. Wine suggestion as well as the bread were good.

Family Gathering

By teresaw925 |

III Forks Austin was the perfect place for family to gather when cousins came in from out of town. We had a cozy private room and wonderful service.,,especially nice with two toddlers at the table! The servers were attentive and helpful and very informative regarding finding the perfect choice from all of III Forks' wonderful menu items. Everyone enjoyed their meals, and dessert was definitely a must! Delicious!

Top Top Steak House

By StevieG400 |

We visited III Forks in downtown Austin after reading T/A comments while over in Austin for the F1 weekend. Restaurant is in a good location ,large steakhouse with separate well stocked bar area, good for pre meal drink . Seated at our table the waiter was excellent explaining the menu and answering any questions.Steaks were cooked to our liking , full of flavour, sides were all good .Overall a great steak restaurant, pricing not cheap but justified with quality of food and service .Worth a visit for a special occasion

Chicken Fried Lobster is AMAZING!

By Julie M |

Only in Texas would you find chicken fried lobster & III Forks has it down! Steaks are juicy & delicious, service... AMAZING. III Forks is simply an awesome Steak House, one of my favorites in Austin!

Perfectly scrumptious

By Tonya H |

Probably the best filets we’ve ever had. You must top it off with the King’s Crown! The lobster was cooked perfectly. Waiters are very attentive and helpful- top notch. The only reason for the rating of 4 is due to the unpleasant odor right as you walk in the doors, but I didn’t notice it after we were seated. My husband, however, was sensitive to it throughout our meal. Still, we would definitely dine here again.

For the price - this did not

By Alindgren |

For the price - this did not meet our expectations. Food was lackluster and staff was unhappy serving a table with kids. Not the classy experience we hoped for. Very disappointed

Great Steak

By TX2XS |

Went out for a nice dinner with my wife. I ordered the ribeye and my wife opted for the crabcakes. The steak was spot on. Unfortunately my wife wasn't particularly happy with her meal. Nothing specific, just pedestrian. Because of the hype she expected to be wowed. Salad and asparagus finished off the meal with a couple of cocktails. We will definitely be back, but I'll be sticking to steak.

Steak night

By Thomas N |

We were told about this place by a local. Two of us went with great expectation, and it almost lived up to it. Had our server been more attentive to us, it might have been great. She was slow to come to the table at first. We were in the very back room at a table alone, and this place is big, we could have easily have been seated in one of the forward dining rooms. Our food choices, each of us having steaks were very tasty. We were not offered and pepper from the grinder, that was 20 feet from us I later saw. I asked for a glass of wine, a Malbec, and she returned to tell me they were out of it, so she brought me a taste of something else which was good. I tasted it, and then she took the remainder of the taste and left with it! I thought that was very poor taste on here part. The restaurant is expensive, but is a nice place.

Very good restaurant

By Leslie W |

Had a really good meal food and service was excellent although a bit expensive. Would recommend it to anyone.

Had high expectations

By MarkFromBuffalo |

We were in town for a conference and visited this restaurant based on our concierge recommendation. I ordered their 22 oz Ribeye but got served the Strip Steak instead, very tough and hard to cut even with the sharp steak life provided.

Big dinner

By UK54 |

Son held birthday dinner there for himself. About 40 guests. Service was impeccable and prompt for cocktails and delivery of the various orders. The food was very good and all was hot. There is bar service and the place appears to be accessible. Prices appear reasonable for a nice evening out. No prime rib, but many steaks in many sizes. Mine was properly prepared to my order. I will go back if in Austin again.

Fantastic meal on thanksgiving day

By Vacation-Advocates |

Our small family enjoyed a impeccable meal Thanksgiving day. We all chose the Thanksgiving special menu which included A blue cheese vinaigrette Green apple salad, beef tenderloin, roasted vegetables, mashed potatoes and cream corn. To top it off either pecan pie or bread pudding. All of these were at a reasonable price and extremely tasty. We were quite satisfied with our service our food and price of our meal.

Delicious meal impeccable service satisfying experience.

By M Tremmel |

We had snacked on Tex-mex and pub food for a few days. On our last night in town, we wanted to have a nice meal. Forks did not disappoint. The service was excellent and the food and wine were perfectly complimentary. A nice evening for great company and well prepared food. Will return for sure.

One fork did the job

By mcdedrick |

Dinner at III Forks was awesome thanks on large part to our server Josh and all the support staff. We arrived at our reservation time and were promptly seated. The atmosphere is pretty much standard upscale steakhouse. We ordered a shrimp cocktail to share for a starter. It comes with four pieces which we changed to six. The shrimp were delicious. BUT the presentation, lying on a plate covered in cocktail sauce wasn’t optimal. Messy and you had no control over the sauce. Filet mignons with a mushroom side arrived very hot and were delicious. Their wine menu is outstanding with several gems at really good price points. We had a Hawkes Cab Sauv which made the meal perfect. Cocktails were also spot on. Loved my after dinner chocolate martini made just the way I asked for. Thanks Josh and team for a memorable night out.

Another great dinner at 3 Forks!

By David F |

The dinner was for a birthday, and we each had onion soup and crusted haddock, a menu special. For a side we had asparagus. The warm bread, tomatoes and green onions were a very nice touch. The service was great, the wait staff very courteous and knowledgeable, and the food was brought in reasonable time. The food was five star, which we have come to expect at 3 Forks. It is our favorite restaurant for special occasions.

Good customer service, shockingly bad food care

By Sam L |

I just don't know what to say, but I'll try. When you go to a Texan Steakhouse you'd expect the main showcase meat to be properly cooked and treated with care. I ordered a USDA rib eye steak medium-rare and the first time it came out, it was purple throughout. ( rare bordering on blue) so I sent it back, the second time was better, but still had purple in the very centre (rare) so I sent it back again, expecting a brand new Steak to be cooked for me, instead I got the same steak again (3 times) this time it was a little bit overcooked as the skin tasted of char and crispiness, which obviously meant they were grilling the steaks.(WHICH IS WRONG!!!!) Steaks should be grilled for no longer than it takes to seal in the meat juices and then it should go into the oven, after which it should rest for at least half as long as it was cooking in the oven. The one saving grace was the service by the waitress who did her utmost best to appease me by arranging my steak to be free, but sorry to say that this review is still going up as a bad experience at a highly rated steakhouse.

Outstanding

By lbrymer |

Took some friends here for a business dinner and couldn't have been more pleased. The food was perfect, the service was excellent and the restaurant was exactly as you'd expect for a steakhouse. They did Texas proud and I'll definitely be back!

Best steak ever, plus fun engaging server made for perfect evening

By Mark & Judi Bellenger |

We are big fans of steakhouses and I think we all agreed after dinner this week it was the best overall experience we have had in one. The steak (bone in filet) with the Kings Butter on it may have been the best steak I have ever had. Perfectly cooked. Our server 'Mick' was an absolute joy, funny and fun, engaging and made perfect recommendations. If you want a fun evening ask to be seated with him. Manager came by table to make sure everything was perfect. Top class service. Will absolutely be going back on our next trip to Austin!

Dark steak house

By Drmoxie |

We made reservations for this steak house while in town for a convention. The staff was friendly and attentive. The steak prices seemed very high and we were encouraged to upcharge by adding flavored butters. Not necessary! The rib eye was very good and the pork chop was just ok. Cocktails were varied and tasty. Appetizers were enough for two. Medium rare was very rare to me but that seems a regional thing. Overall a nice but pricey evening

Pricey and loud

By Elsa S |

The food was good but rather pricey. Hard to have conversation with family because the noise level was loud. Hard to even understand the waitress when explaining the night’s specials.

Group meal

By Walter P |

Just like Joe P, our visit was with a large group. Both of our entrees (rib eye and filet) were excellent. This is definitely the place to go for a great steak. The desserts were delicious as well. Terrific service as well.

Great food great service

By Katherine P |

Very upscale steakhouse which has your regular steaks and then has your “special occasion” or “treat yourself” steaks. Started with the appetizer special which was a chicken fried lobster. Lobster which lightly battered, fries golden brown and lobster cooked perfectly. If at a steakhouse, couldn’t order anything else but a steak and went with the bone in ribeye topped with Kings butter which is a mix of black truffle, garlic, honey and foie gras. Steak was cooked perfectly medium and the topping add a level of decadence. Server was very attentive, prompt and friendly. Servers kept our wine and water glasses full at all times.

Smart Texan food served with Texan hospitality

By maurice350 |

Had dinner with some business friends here. Greeted promptly we were shown to a really nice table overlooking the nearby swimming quarry. Service was prompt and professional. It’s always nice to have a server who knows the menu and is able to guide guest with passion and knowledge. Service was professional and attentive. Our food came beautifully plated and was very tasty. Nice atmosphere and excellent service on a very busy evening. Well done team. I most certainly recommend this restaurant.

Excellent service and food

By Jeremy O |

Oh wow!! This qas an excellent meal. We started with some appetizers, chicken fried lobster and the onion rings. Then we had a cocktail the best bourbon and cocktail list i have ever seen. Then we ordered our food, the service was impeccable.. literally the best individual care I have gotten in awhile. I ordered the ribeye steak, melt in your mouth and perfectly cooked. The sides! Lobster Mac and cheese mashe potatoes so good Dessert was 7 layer Texas cake.. huge and great. Did I mention the service..just beyond excellent.. Worth the experience and the price.

Great for Business Dinner

By Dennis10_51 |

Quiet enough you can talk and hear each other without trying to talk over the roar typical of most restaurants. Upscale with great service. Lobster bisque was delicious. My steak was cooked to perfection.

Marvelous food — a bit noisy

By JB101 |

We arrived at 5:45 for dinner with friends before heading to the Inaugural Ball. We were the first people seated in our dining area and it was wonderfully quiet. By the time we left a couple of hours later, I could barely hear my wife seated beside me. The food was fantastic. I had the bone-in ribeye and it was marvelous. My wife loved her scallops. We will return, just wish it were quieter.

Best of the Best

By Andrew B |

This restaurant simply put has the best food in Austin. We dined here 2 nights in a row. The steak served here is the best. I have never had a better cut of filet mignon anywhere else in the US. This is a must stop when in the Austin downtown area. Everything on the table was amazing.

They do seafood too

By Stan S |

Excellent service and attentiveness… yet not over the top (if you know what I mean)…. While it is a great steakhouse everyone in our party ordered shrimp cocktail and crab cakes for appetizers and the special redfish with lump crab meat for dinner…. Everything was phenomenal..!!! Well Done

Excellent meal , great service

By RANDY A |

Dim lighting, relaxing atmosphere, good fun and nice folks. We had the steak salads which were very good and cooked to perfection. Would love to go back to another steak.

Steak Plus

By Anna M |

Located just north of the river from our Hyatt hotel. Our experience was enhanced by our waiter, Erik. He seamlessly served a large table near us and took care of us as if we were the only ones in the restaurant! The place is understated elegance! The menu offered the expected cuts of meat and other meals to choose if we didn’t want meat. The two steak eaters enjoyed the ribeye caps. Of course, prepared perfectly. I enjoyed the roasted cauliflower and the gem salad.

Almost 5 Star

This is a nice discovery. As far as first impressions are concerned, III Forks left a good one. I tried their house salad which consistes of sweet pecans, apples, blue cheese, and your typical greens. I was quite pleased with that option as it was fresh, tasty, and a good sized portion. I also opted for the Wagyu Beef Cheek & Bone Marrow. It was quite delightful and I highly recommend it. I thought the service could improve slightly but that’s just personal.

This was an excellent choice.

This was an excellent choice. The food is excellent and service as well. I had the ribeye which was cooked to perfection! Spinach, lobster bisque all great!

Amazing Fine Dining

By Lathkill |

Where better to finish our last night in Austin. We had a drink in the wood panelled bar to start our evening and enjoyed the atmosphere. Then we moved through to the dining room for the start of attentive service for the rest of the evening. We all had the $130 16oz Ribeye steak on the bone with a 7oz lobster tail. Very impressive presentation and supremely well cooked to taste. We kept with our beers, but the wine list is very impressive. However they need a New Zealand Desert wine adding to the list (A Late Harvest) to round out a diners evening as complete. III Forks matched Logan Brown's in Wellington, New Zealand as a place for exceptional fine dining.

Excellent Service , Atmosphere and Food

Mick and staff provided impeccable service from start to finish in this classy , if a little dark , restaurant setting. Starters included oysters , ahi tuna and the wagyu cheek. All very good indeed. Mains ... filet mignon , rack of lamb and Prime bone in ribeye . All were excellent as were the sides. Expensive , classy , worth it - and wine prices were reasonable too.

Magical Dinner and Anniversary Celebration!

WOW! If a review could be one word, that would be it for this place! We chose to dine here for our one year anniversary with our family and it was the BEST decision! The service was amazing; our service was top rate and the GM came to greet us as well. Both joined in our celebration and made us feel very welcome on our special day. The food was delicious as well and the dessert was scrumptious, try the Texas Cake! We will always return to enjoy the company and food when we are back visiting Austin. Thanks III Forks!

Excellent All Around Experience Large Private Event

I was put in charge finding a restaurant in Austin for about 20 of our top customers while in town for a convention. After doing some research I ended up choosing 3 Forks. I am glad to say the whole experience and event was fabulous. To start while working through getting the right private room and getting the menu all ranged Diana was fabulous and did a great job with recommendations and being very prompt with the communication. We ended up getting the Captains room for the evening. We ended up having about 30 people in attendance and the room was sized appropriately. We started with appetizers and allowing everyone to socialize for about an hour or so. We had pre selected some wine and had an open bar for all the drinks. The staff was great, very responsive and not one complaint or issue with lack of food and drinks as everyone mingled. For the appetizers we had with the Lamb Meatballs, (delicious these are a must) Mini Crab Cakes and the Garlic Hummus on Lavish Chips were also good. But out of the 3 choices the meatballs were the most talked about. For our soup and salad choices we had the Lobster Bisque and the 3Forks Salad. Lobster Bisque was delicious. For our entrees we had the Filet, Roasted Chicken, Atlantic Salmon and the Vegetable Ravioli. Filet was my personal choice and delicious. We had no complaints from anyone. We also added some extra sides for all the tables and added the off the cob cream corn and seasonal vegetables. Finally for deserets we had the seasonal sorbet and the Texas Pecan pie. I personally had the Texas Pecan pie and it was delicious. If you are looking for a great venue to take customers or just have a great meal, I would highly recommend 3 Forks! We are coming back to Austin next year for our convention and I will for sure use 3 Forks again for our customer event. Enjoy!
