Best Miami Airport Restaurant

By businesstraveler067 |

Not sure why IBC at the Miami International Airport is getting ok reviews. This is my favorite spot at the MIA to eat. Great hot meal options. BBQ and Curry dishes are great. Best Oatmeal for breakfast. My favorite is their cold curry chicken salad to go. Great salads. I'm a fan.

Pamela Rocks!

By Xera E |

I came to this place and it was really pricey. I got a pizza with a drink and the pizza was really good. And the reason i am giving all 5 stars is because Pamela did a great job and was very kind! Thank u.

Best Airport Key Lime Pie

By Vegas_Fisherman |

If you can't head over to their SoBe outlet then catch their grub at the airport instead. Their Key Lime Pie comes a close second to Joe's Stone Crab but is the best farewell dessert at an airport stocked full of options.

Fresh and delicious

By SunshineConnecticut |

We discovered a great little gem near Gate D8 at Miami Airport. The food is delicious: salads, sandwiches, small meals, desserts, pastries and beverages. Nice variety of healthful and attractive food, very clean facilities, very pleasant staff and a nice little eating area overlooking the runway. Very fair prices for delicious food--a great find at the airport. We had two meals there while on a long wait-over, and enjoyed it all. Refreshing atmosphere and food at the airport.

Ice Box Cafe - what a great surprise!

By STX_M3 |

While changing planes at American Airlines in the Miami International Airport I wanted to grab a quick something to eat. Ice Box Cafe was right there so I gave it a try. I chose the Malaysian Shrimp Salad prepackaged by Ice Box. It contained grilled large shrimp, spinich greens, sprouts, a couple other veggies and a great sauce on the side. It was $10.50. Not horribly expensive the way so many airport restaurants are. Drinks were a bit expensive, so I just drank my water I brought with me. I have to admit, the salad was EXCELLENT! Couldn't believe it. Fast because it was already made and packaged. Ice Box also notes you may call ahead with a two-hour notice and have a meal done specifically for you to take on a flight. They even offer "home cooked" meals like meatloaf with mashed potatoes. I'll definitely go back to the Ice Box if and when I have the opportunity!

Key lime pie was okay

By Almost Seen it All |

Just wanted some KLP while on a stopover in FLA ... it was deep dish and nice and light but not tart enough for my taste. Good sized slice though!

Confusion, pricey, but a good sandwich

By mswtravels71 |

There are not many choices near gate D6, and even fewer if you need something quickly. Long story short - one person handling the register/placing the order, the line feeding from two directions, people looking at each other to figure out who was next. Kind of stressful when your plane is already boarding. Pros: the portabello sandwich was better than average, and once the order was placed, it only took about 7 minutes for it to be ready.

OMG! I am still thinking about that salad!

By Keila T |

So I wanted to find a recipe so I can try to replicate this delicious salad and was so pleased to find tripadvisor's review. Folks this salad is no joke! I just happen to grab it because of sort time between my flights in Miami and have to say it's was the best meal I had on my way to Curacao and sadly throughout my vacation there. I desparately tried to get back to to Ice Box on my way back but ended up in different area of terminal. Chop't in NYC, are you listening - someone in NYC needs to get this recipe from ICE Box Cafe!!!!!!!!!!!!

Perfect brunch

By Lori B |

The food and mimosas were excellent. Service is great. Nice ambiance, outdoor seating and easy to find parking. Highly recommended!

Great quick lunch spot at MIA

By tvlman1 |

Great soups and excellent chicken salad. The chicken salad is low fat , it comes with raisins its a delicious combination of flavors ! The chicken tortilla soup , with a Mexican flair is also very good . When they have the turkey chili , (which is seasonal ) it's always a favorite. The desserts , in my opinion , are just ok. They are a bit overpriced , the quality, taste and freshness are not up to standards.

Good for airport food

By Dosmojito |

We ate here on two different occasions. Hubbie had the meatloaf and enjoyed it. I enjoyed the turkey chili and another soup, as well as one of the cookies (extra large, so the price is good given the size). I like to bake at home, so I'm picky about baked goods. I didn't find the cookies to be outrageously good, but they were good as far as airport food goes. Packaging is very travel friendly if you are taking the food "to go". We dined at the tables once as well and the eating area is bright and pleasant.

Best Cuban Sandwich of the trip!

By Pam B |

On our way back from Puerto Rico, where we'd hoped to have some good pork dishes - no such luck. Thankfully, I'd read about Ice Box, and it didn't hurt that Oprah had recommended it! Even though it's right off the concourse, it's pleasantly quiet even when very busy. The counter help was very pleasant and the manager just a sweetie. So nice to have a good glass of wine to break up the trip!

Tasty and Healthy Food on the go !

By MandC0218 |

Great choice at Miami Airport. Very healthy sandwich choices such as tofu, hummus, and grilled chicken, and a nice selection of international styles of salads such as Malaysian, Thai, traditional Asian salads, and chicken salad. A good selections of desserts such as brownies and cookies as well. They even have a little bar area for wines and beers. Cozy, modern place to relax between flights or on the go .

Amazing brunch!

By 246gina |

Lively eatery with great treats. The coffee and the staff need a little work but the lemon ricotta pancake and the french toast with guava made up for it. All in all not a bad place, will definitely be back again!

Got food but

By divoobie |

there was a large number of people waiting to get in, the staff just unlocked the doors but did not greet people or welcome them in, it was weird. I was ignored after I ordered. Food was good, service needs improvement.

Great med food

By juanovidio |

great quick bites mediterranean food at MIA...wraps, salads and other med food...highly recommended for travelers on the run!

Best sausage and egg biscuit EVER!

By Chassity Cannon |

The BEST sausage, egg and biscuit ever! That is saying a lot considering I am from Southern Mississippi where biscuits are a staple at most every meal. And let me tell you....at $10 each, they are huge! Once I took the first bite, I did not care it was $10! Customer service was fantastic also!

Good every time

By shbkatz |

Have eaten here several times. I feel like the food is so much better since they moved off of Lincoln Road. The atmosphere is nice and not such a scene but mellow and not loud so you can talk to your friends. We were a large party 8. The appetizers while really good were really small. We thought 4 appetizers plus bread would be enough, it was not. The dinners were hot and good. Please order the roasted chicken! It is amazing!! And its chicken!! The wasabi crusted salmon was a hit along with the meat loaf. Desserts was good. We ordered about 6 different desserts. My advice is to order the most popular- like the chocolate one with the cheesecake and carrot cake. The others I felt didnt taste as fresh. Maybe they had been sitting for a couple of days and the cake to frosting ratio was frosting overload on the coconut or vanilla almond ( cant remember) So ask what are the favorites and you will get a fresh slice. Our desserts took about 15 minutes to get to our table so they gave us an extra slice which was great service but the cake was stale! The service was very good and has just been a nice low key place to get a really good meal.

Decent for an airport

By Ann M |

I remember the food being better a few years ago. Moroccan chicken salad was ok to bring on plane. Nothing special.

Great brunch option!

By LGG3 |

Had Sunday brunch at Icebox based on the recommendation of our hotel concierge. The restaurant was bright, modern and clean. The staff was extremely friendly and professional. The food was delicious and interesting. The restaurant is on Purdy Ave., which is a more residential area of South Beach. We had to take a taxi to get there, but it was worth the trip. It was also nice to get away from the throngs of tourists on Lincoln Road. Also nice to be around South Beach locals. The restaurant just seemed healthy, although they had a full brunch menu with all of the delicious things like pancakes, omelettes and french toast. It had a bit of an LA vibe to it.

Great fresh, flavorful, healthy and/or decadent if you want!

By diobri |

So happy to find this, had brown rice, kale and portabella curry plate. Ahh my vegan tummy was so happy.

Possible correction in gate number

By SunshineConnecticut |

I just send through a review for the Ice Box Cafe at Miami AP, a great place. This is to correct a possible error in location: I may have said G8. If so, please correct to Gate B8. It is next to Gate B8. Not sure how to correct this if I inadvertently gave the wrong address. Thanks very much.

Good

By SEs |

This is one of many food outlets here at the M I A to spend your time before a flight. The service is good.

Oprah's Favorite is my favorite!

By lhorow1160 |

The Ice Box was near my departure gate, and I got in line to see what choices there were. All of the cakes were individually boxed, and they all looked awesome. I grabbed the chocolatiest one, and was blown away. The dense mousse of chocolate with a vanilla layer was magnificent. This was the best store-bought cake I have ever eaten!

Nothing special

By Jani |

Was there yesterday for lunch with my buddy. Beautiful decor but nothing more than that. Average food and service. Bar needs improvements. They let people put their dogs on the chairs and cushions and customers need to seat there after?

Very good food, quieter side of time

By elfox8 |

Pretty restaurant in Purdy, good menu of fresh American, reasonably priced. The meat loaf was tasty.

Awful almond croissant in Miami airport Terminal D

By afderoide |

Awful almond croissant and average pizza.l at the Ice Box outlet in Terminal D next to gate 8. Was there today at 8am. Very nice waitress, but had to return the almond croissant. Dry and IMO clearly not fresh from this morning. Dry inside, of course - I could have asked it to be warmed up but it would have still been a non fresh croissant to me. The waitress insisted that it was delivered this morning from Miami Ice Box factory. I have no doubt on this but to state they were made this morning is I think completely wrong. I suggest the management to cook those items fresh and deliver them promptly to their outlets. Very good orange juice and again very pleasant service.

Enough is Enough!

By Tony F |

For Many years I have been a fan of Ice Box Café. From Lincoln Road to Purdy, Ice Box was always a place that was consistent and fresh. True, the service suffered sometimes, but this is South Beach, a notorious wasteland of poor service and illegal automatic gratuities. The food was always good and the baked goods, cookies, cakes and pies were always tops. Ice Box Café also has this place in the Miami International Airport. This review is reflective of THAT location only and not the proper restaurants. Let’s face it…finding decent food in the Miami terminals is a challenge to begin with. The first time I saw an Ice Box, I was pretty excited. But that excitement quickly waned once I tried the food. True, you can get some of their famous cookies, brownies and scones here and they are delicious. BUT that is where it ends with food quality and taste. I mean while it sounds nice, we simply need more than just “sugar”. Herein lies my challenges with the rest. I would like a coffee but the Starbuck’s just 35 feet away is packed with a line that is way too long. So I opt for Ice Box which has no line. The Cappuccinos, Latte and regular coffee, despite the number of times I have had them, all had to be thrown out. They taste terrible and Ice Box must use the worst coffee beans. But I am hungry, and again Ice Box lines are short (this should be an indicator of quality); so many times despite my previous experiences, I opt for either a paninni, breakfast sandwich or ham and cheese croissant. In each and every case, the food has tasted terrible. You can tell that they are using the cheapest ingredients. This last croissant I had to throw out because it was so bad – dried out croissant with cheap black forest processed ham and velveeta-type processed cheese. Would this make you hungry? I think not. I am shocked that Ice Box would even allow a place like this to exist, serve this low level of food and tarnish their otherwise stellar reputation. After this last experience here, I will opt to NEVER come here again. I would rather consume a dried out granola bar and wait until I reach my flight destination.

Healthy, veggie, fresh *and* nutritious, all at a U.S. airport? well, it exists!

By Maria Amelia V |

Absolutely delicious! healthy, veggie, fresh, fun and tasty dishes (plus nutritious)! Service was great, everyone is very friendly. I have walked at least 25 gates (sometimes run) to grab a dish to go before my next plane. With more time, I have enjoyed the food and the place. It is a gem for those veggie people out there but also for those that enjoy good and creative food, considering it's an airport and it's, well, Florida!.

A warm and inviting "Icebox" Cafe

By ssvvpp |

Basically a pre-prepared walk-up takeout restaurant cafe with coffee and bar service. The food, packaged in plastic, wasn't much to look at but tasted very good.

Better than most

By yorosey |

Everything looked good buy all I had was breakfast sandwich and a coffee. It was better than most places in airport that I have tried.

Organically delightful

By Brad U |

Fresh, tasty, great ambiance and wonderful staff. A must if in SoBe. Simple cool and chic. Our entrees were fabulous. Cocktails unique and refreshing. Not sweet eaters but we grabbed 4 awesome cookies to eat in our room and next day😋

Lots of room for meetings between tables.

By Patrick S |

Easy parking. Dining rooms are large, indoor and outdoor. Very good service. I was there for a business lunch. My guest eats really healthy so he was happy. Mine was a little too healthy. I had the turkey rubin but not a lot of flavor, I'll take the traditional.

Doesn't meet the potential in MIA!

By Fitz H |

I was on a layover last night through MIA Airport and wanted something other than a fast food chain or food court option for dinner. I chose Ice Box Cafe because it billed itself as "farm to terminal" and seemed to be relatively unique compared the other airport offerings. I ordered the "Artisanal Grilled Cheese" for a $13 price tag on raisin walnut bread with camembert cheese and granny smith apples. It was to come out of the kitchen within 5-7 minutes. I never heard my number called until I approached the counter and the server asked "is this grilled cheese yours?" Pointing to a wrapped sandwich on the counter, served with nothing else, I said yes and proceeded to walk to my gate to catch my flight. At that point it was still warm and the grilled cheese was OK, but not impressed at the value or the service here. I guess there still is room for a market for good airport dining experiences!

Not a good experience

By Patrick G |

We love ice box in South Beach until but this was a bad experience. Ate here once before and food was served on plates but now the sandwich for here was just wrapped, small and unimpressive Seems to have gone down hill over the last two months.

Great place for a sandwich or soup

By Albertomiami |

It is across d11. They have good choices for sandwiches. They also have good soups. Wine selection is limited. Service was fast.

Good, but slightly disappointed

By Kathryn M |

I ordered one of their signature sandwiches from the airport (I believe it was the tuna) and it was good, but considering it was more of a sit down place, and that it was one of their "signature sandwiches", I was a bit disappointed. The sandwich was a la carte, which again, for a sit down place I was a bit surprised at. It was great quality food, but this is not your best place for value.

Great Place

By marciolopez2004 |

So far the best restaurant in the airport I was heading to Texas and while waiting for my flight I decided to have some breakfast at this place . Prices are as usual airport prices we know the expression if you travel often . I had a breakfast combo as suggested by the cashier Louis he said it was a very popular item indeed it was the best sandwich in had in the airport by far. EXCELLENT PLACE AT THE MIA recommended 100%

Had a great lunch near South Beach

By Mike L |

Wife and I met our nephew for a delightful lunch. Interesting youthful atmosphere, with great desserts. My wife had a delicious salad and I had the blackened fish special of the day.

Very Good Alternative ti crowdly strabucks

By dberve01 |

If you are at miami concourse d and looking for a coffee bar, you may find a crowded strabucks. But go on a little while and you'll find an ice box with the same or better quality with no queue 😀

Great Cuban Style Sandwiches!

By Jill B |

We have a favorite Cuban restaurant when we go through Miami, but we were not even close to it. When I went in search of a quick bite before our flight, I wanted something good but easy to take with us. The menu at the Ice Box, caught my eye as well as their large selection of cold sandwiches, salads, and desserts. I got the Caribbean Sandwich, that had pulled pork, ham, mustard, pickles and Caribbean spices. It was ready in less than 5 minutes and it was hot, and delicious! My husband and I split it and it was definitely enough for the both of us. I craved more because the taste was so good! We will definitely stop here again and I will try some of the delicious looking desserts. The staff was pleasant and very prompt.

Good sandwich quick

By RiceWP |

Catching a flight home, we grabbed a quick bit before getting on out flight. The warm pulled pork sandwiches were a little dry, but very tasty. More importantly, it was prepared very quickly.

Good food and service in Miami International Airport

By AnnyMouse1 |

Okay, we had time to kill between flights and hunger was gnawing at our vitals. The three of us didn't want fast food, and the choices in our part of the airport were limited. The IceBox Cafe was crowded, but we snagged the last table close to the entrance. Our waiter was quick and professional and our food was good. The salmon sandwich was a yummy choice for me, and the cold turkey sandwich also received a thumbs up. It was a good choice for a weary hungry traveler. The menu is quite varied for an airport restaurant. One didn't feel it was an airport restaurant by the quality of both the service and the food. The dishes we saw all looked freshly prepared and nutritious. If I am ever chugging through the Miami Airport again (and no doubt I will be), I will seek out the Icebox Cafe to assuage my hunger.

Bake goods for get the diet

Some really great baked goods available at this chain. Have been to the one in Dallas and assume they have more. Really great baked goods have only had that.

End of a legacy

FINALLY healthy gourmet to-go @ airport

By JoeyCB |

Looooooove this little gem in Terminal D. Fresh-pressed juices. Yummy cakes. Quinoa salads and so much more. Hope others follow suit. This is the way airport fare(& all fast food) should be!!!!! I swing by every time I fly thru Miami. Everything I've had each visit has been delicious and fresh.

The wrap we had was just so indescribable!

By Beachgrammy56 |

Stopped in last night on our way to Jacksonville. We got the spinach tortilla vegetarian falafal wrap. It was sooo good! It was huge and filled with all kinds of goodies like grated beets, grated carrots, cucumbers, tomatoes, chard and yummy falafal with tahini sauce.

Food was excellent, service and price leaves a lot to be desired

By Canadians_who_travel |

I was travelling with my wife and another couple. We enjoyed their Purdy location. We were leaving on an early flight so we decided to try their Miami Airport location. Overpriced for what you get. They were only serving a couple of items from their lunch and breakfast menu. they simply said they ran out of other items. Food was delicious. Service was horrible! Long line and only one server was able to say "thanks" and smile. It sounded like they were understaffed that day (Nov. 25). I asked for raw sugar and the cashier told me they didn't have any. The server preparing my order came right next to him, and pulled out 4 bags of raw sugar. He didn't say a word, just went off to serve someone. I took out some cash from my pocket and dropped it in their tip box, for her obviously ...too bad he gets a cut.

great food and friendly

By n_marchand |

Service and the food were great. Nice comfortable dining room, unpretentious. The short rib and the chocolate cake were amazing.
