Pan-asian vegetarian food. We had shumai, bean curd skin, noodles, and panfried turnip - they were all good and tasty!

I ate here during a stay in Portland. Service was excellent. Food is beautifully presented and plated, and the food was extremely delicious, and as far as I can tell, tasted authentic. Wish I could come here every week! Alas I have to leave to go home, far away...

Cafeteria style ordering and drop it at the table! Wonderful atmosphere. Love the music and karaoke and people hanging out like nice club.

Products that are supposed to be substituted for meat or fish are processed tasteless soy. Things that resemble shrimp or a pure, and a very bad choice of spices.

We enjoyed sharing a tea service _8 oolong to choose from plus other types of teas). Dumplings and brassicas are very flavorful. Noodles in a huge bowl are great for sharing too. Wonderful little hidden spot

I am vegetarian (and would be vegan....but you know that thing with dairy so hard to part with) but love all meat-less food. This place was AMAZING. It's a super tiny restaurant so be aware of that. If they cook something spicy- they have to open the door otherwise everyone ends up crying (haha). Everyone was super nice and service was great. Mix of locals and tourists, which was very cool. There were 6 of us and we ordered a ton of food and sake. Everything was great in taste truly. Even the meat eaters at the table loved the food. I can't wait to go back and eat more!

We came here after a long day of walking Portland and were surprised to find that it is situated literally right next to Vtopia, another vegan spot. They even share the same door in the middle of the restaurant. We waiting about 35 minutes to be seated. The place is very small and limited in space. No reservations accepted. We only tried their appetizers. We tried their Yue Choy (grilled Chinese brassica dressed in a sweet dark soy sauce), the Shumai (four "money bag" dumplings filled with shrimp* and pork*, dressed with a ginger and green onion sauce), the Ba Wan Buns (three steamed tapioca dumplings filled with bamboo shoot, shiitake mushroom, and pork* with a spicy tomato-based dipping sauce), and the Cheung Fun (wide rice noodle folded with shrimp*, bacon*, pork* sung and fried garlic dressed with a sweet soy sauce). The wait to get the food was about 30 minutes after we sat and the server did not stop by to check on our table. It was rather loud but the food was alright. The shumai was probably the best out of the four appetizers we had. It came with a side of what tasted like ponzu sauce, which I love! The Cheung Fun was filling and interesting, to say the least. As for the Ba Wan Buns, they are "bunny" shaped, a bit disturbing and the Yue Choy, as some other reviewers have said it on other platforms, was hard to eat as they all connected like spaghetti, I ended up using my hands although I think I could have asked for a fork. We might give it a second shot when we are back in Portland. Their tea presentation was unique, I'll give it that.

This tiny hidden gem features drop-dead delicious food, lovingly prepared and respectfully served. The small plates are a vegan's dim sum dream come true--scrumptious dumplings, noodles, and other tidbits. The faux "meats" used are excellent--especially the "bacon." For a main course dish, the ma po tofu is simply the best I've ever eaten, and it's beautifully presented. They also feature a large selection of specialty teas which are carefully prepared by the server at your table.

Delicious little gem in the Goose Hollow neighborhood. We opted for ordering five of the small plates to share which was perfect. Each had a unique flavor, so I couldn't tell you which was my favorite since they were all so good. The staff was super friendly and even though the place was small looking, we didn't feel cramped. A vegan treasure!

Ichiza Kitchen surpassed any and all expectations I had. It’s a lovely restaurant. I felt immediately at home. I’m not sure what I expected, but the food and ambiance surpassed our expectations. We started with dim sum type appetizers. The sauces that accompanied them were out of the world. Then we shared ramen bowls, adobo, and dishes. What a treat!! The tea service is beautifully presented as well. Go!!

Take out only and it's really hard to find as it's the back door of a kitchen in a sketchy neighborhood. Food was OK, but nothing to write home about.

The food here is stunning! All dishes are vegan and packed full of flavour. The faux meats taste so real that you will question whether its vegan at all. The portion sizes are large so you get your monies worth, the staff there are so welcoming and kind. It's a very special place to go and I would recommend it 100%. We spent the first few minutes repeating "that's so good" when trying all the dishes as the flavours had a depth and authenticity. A must when you visit Portland :)

I was dragged reluctantly to this teeny (7 tables?) restaurant. We ordered, essentially, most of the small plates. This included small steamed buns, sticky rice, pot stickers, turnip something or another. Everything was delicious. I am a local and this was a true Portlandia experience. The staff are very knowledgeable and described the food in great detail. They Even had sort of a tea ceremony, if you buy it by the pot. If you are vegan... You've found your Portland wet dream. If you are a carnivore get ready for a whole different experience.

This small restaurant is absolutely delicious. Just a few tables, so it is cozy. You can order a variety of Asian dishes with a flair for something a bit different. For vegans, you will love it, but I'm convinced you can bring your meat loving friends and they won't miss anything. I brought my son and his girlfriend and my daughter recently and we enjoyed the variety of items on the menu. The waiter was great - and the tea selection was amazing. Highly recommend!
Outstanding Vegan pan-Asian Cuisine
For our three nights in Portland we ended up eating here 2 out of the 3 nights. We are not vegans. My girlfriend is a Celiac and I'm gluten sensitive. There are several options on the menu to accomodate us. Everything we had here was excellent. Add to the experience several tea offerings (Oolongs/Greens) and 9 or 10 different Sake's that the staff will describe and assist with your descision - made for two special nights of dining. Note: This is a very tiny spot (6 tables and a small bar for 2) - no reservations - so to avoid a wait up 45 minutes to an hour - come early. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. If you ever were curious about a plant-based meal and would it be any good - you owe it to yourself to dine here - I never felt 'short-changed' - truly remarkable dining. This is a special place - which I will return to whenever I am in the area.
