We caught breakfast here and I have to say for $1.99 I was pretty satisfied. Had the french toast breakfast meal.

Our family had lunch here. The cafeteria style food was surprisingly good and the price was also very reasonable. I would not have any problems coming back here to eat.

By the time you have been through the maze of shopping its a good spot for a rest and a snack. The alternative healthy kids snacks are nice. I'm a vegetarian and still find things to eat. The Mac & Cheese with steamed veggies or salad is OK. Inexpensive food for families and the eating area is kept clean.

We stop at Ikea about five times a year, and always have lunch at the cafe. Some of the best prices in town for what you get.

Ikea is huge, so you just may need a pick me up during your travels there. The cinnamon rolls are just too tasty to pass up and small enough to enjoy and not wonder what to do with the remaining roll that you can't eat!

Even thought is cafeteria style food, it is really quite good. Being of Swedish heritage, I particularly enjoy their Swedish meatballs, But this time I had their salmon dinner with meatballs on the side (4 meatballs for $1.25 with any entree). Accompanying lingonberries are always a treat. The salmon was okay, but I didn't expect much with it coming from a steam table. Wife's gravalox were excellent as usual. We look forward to eating here whenever we are in Portland.

Was looking for a quick bite while taking a break from shopping and remembered the cafe. Always loved the meatballs but tried the Mac and cheese this time. Everything looked and tasted fresh but the side was a bit in the small size. The pre-made salads looked very good also. There were many options for drinks!

Staying at hotel close to airport wanted to find someplace close and reasonabley priced. What a blessing that IKEA had special discount for their Friday buffet. Whole family ( two adults two children) ate for about $25.00. Included salmon, shrimp, salad, fruit, ice cream, Swedish meatball and best of all the IKEA coffee and half-and-half. Lots of noise from kids at tables , running around and eating! We all left very full and really felt welcome with all of the families around us. Don't forget Oregon has no sales tax, so all the meals come tax free!

The meatballs are tops, soups usually good and prices unbelievably low. Children's menu, daily specials and many regular items. Cafeteria style and the ability to substitute is VERY limited. Many items are available near the checkout for the store, especially the meatballs in the freezer case.

We ate there at least 4 times during our stay. It is convenient with good food. There was always seating available even though it was very busy.

Came here one evening around supper time to buy knackebrod and stayed for dinner. As an IKEA family member, I drank free decaf coffee made by somebody in the kitchen who knows how to make a decent cup of joe. Thank you! The Veggie Ball plate for $3.99 is the bomb. No extra charge to switch out the ancient grains (wheet included) to french fires. This dish comes with a mild curry sauce on the balls and get some on your fries for a heck of a treat. The place is clean and reminded me so very much of Europe.

we loved all the options and this was our first trip to any Ikea store. the cafe was an added and pleasant surprise we enjoyed!

Sometimes we leave for the airport early to get a cup of coffee. Free with our IKEA card. It is Swedish coffee, all we can drink with good coffee cream. It comes with a view of the huge parking lot and we enjoy people watching from above. But If you go for breakfast it is the best deal in town, Swedish pancakes with lingonberry jam, scrambled eggs, potatoes, sausage (meat and vegetarian) is breathtakingly affordable. For lunch the salads are good as is the daily changing menu both adult and children for under 5 dollars. They have special dinner a few times a year, like the rib dinner, Christmas dinner and the Summer's Eve dinner with Swedish crayfish. A favorite seems to be the desserts. They even serve meatballs at breakfast. I love the soups with a big rye cracker. So its a cafeteria and you get your own drink and bus your own dishes.

IKEA caffeteria has tasty Scandanavian food at iKEA prices, what's not to like! OK so there are no candles and waiters. But they do have lingonberry juice.

Good quality meal for great price. We are a family of 4 and ate for under $20. The meatballs are amazeballs.

we were looking for a place to have a reasonably healthy meal - not fried, no cheese with salad, and we could only find it at Ikea which was close to our hotel at Cascades station.

It is set up like an old school cafeteria, in the upper level of the Portland Ikea. For a very reasonable price, you can get a full meal in a clean and bright environment. Drinks seem to be refillable, and they even offer up real butter for your roll. Just like the rest of the store, this is a hopping area that is fortunately very easy to navigate. It would have been more enjoyable if the meatballs were about 10 degrees warmer though.

Can't for the life of me figure out the draw of this place. I guess the meatballs are fantastic to some. Nothing special. Don't ever go in this place on a Saturday or Sunday unless you enjoy crowds, crying babies, and children everywhere.

The food variety and quality is outstanding. The meatballs are legendary and IMHO live up to the legend, but don't limit yourself to them. The crab cakes with fresh Oregon asparagas was top notch and prepared just right. If you're in a hurry, grab a hot dog and some froyo on the 1st floor. If not, shop the kitchen goods and "scatch and dent" section for bargains.

The Salmon was tender & moist with a nice Hollandaise sauce. Some kind of potato-Brocolli-Cauliflower pancake as a side with mixed vegies. I added a salad (everything was fresh and dark green) and a piece of chocolate cake. OMGosh, this was just what I needed after a long day of traveling and working. The eating area was clean and sunny. I watched planes fly over because IKEA is right by PDX. How convenient. This meal was so good and gave me the energy to walk thru IKEA and find many great items. Did I mention the Chocolate Cake? The frosting, the cake. Still in my memory...I've got to go back!

The set up at IKEA is efficient as their store. The food is tasty and plentiful for the price! Being a IKEA member gives you a discount on your food. Ate the meatball plate and paid only $4! The salmon lasagna was excellent.

Good to bribe the kid after you have done 1 floor of the IKEA store and then maybe you can get to the other floor after they have eaten :)

If you like bland, homoginized food, this place is fine. The food isn't terribile, just boring. Kids like it well enough. The cinnamon rolls are good, though.

it's not a bad feature given that you can get lost in the store! if you've been in an Ikea you know what i mean, if not, you might want to schedule an afternoon to visit.

We planned our lunch time around a shopping trip to Ikea. I was looking forward to the spaghetti but it wasn't on the menu. I had a delicious veggie wrap with a side of vegetables. The wrap was delicious; however, the veggies were terribly overcooked. One of our party had the meatballs lunch which included the overcooked veggies which she left on her plate. Another person had the potatoes and meatballs but substituted something for the veggies--a wise move. The cafeteria like lunch area is bright and airy with a fun view of plans arriving. One goes thru the line, gets a tray, silverware and then chooses food. There are beautiful desserts, salads, wraps, drinks and then the entrees which they scoop out and put on your plate. You pay as you leave the area; drinks are self-serve and after eating you place your tray on a large cart. The area is kept clean; food is at an appropriate temperature. It's just a fast, convenient place to eat.

My family and I love to take trips to Ikea, and yes for the food! We love the great selection, the freshness, the taste (the salmon plate is so good). Prices are great, portions are perfect.

We have used this cafe several times in connection with airport runs and enjoy the gravlax and meatballs very much. Very reasonable price -- and the place makes me nostalgic.

Portland's is just like all IKEA's. The food is inexpensive and OK.

Shrimp salad open faced sandwich was terrific. Very inexpensive and good food.

Want to get full for a very reasonable price? Go here - it has a full cafeteria dining line with TONS of entree and desert selections. Periodically, they also have all you can eat buffets for $9.99!

Staying at a nearby hotel, we decided to have a wander through IKEA. Thought we'd save some money by having dinner in the cafeteria. BBQ chicken wrap was too salty but nicer than Trader Joe's wraps. Salad greens were dry (that's better than slimy, though) and salmon was just OK. The eight Swedish meatballs with veggies, mashed potatoes and gravy were very good...this is the dish to get; a great value. Mac n cheese is nothing special. Our meal for two was about $16.00 for more food than we could eat. Next time, we'll share the meatballs/veggies/potatoes and a small dessert. To be fair, it was late evening near closing so the food had probably lost some of its freshness. Another plus: friendly staff; they were very smiley and efficient. Looking forward to going back and trying a few other dishes.

I don't get the big deal . The hype about the cafe is a bit over done,The meatballs, the specialty, were gluey and salty. The rest of the food, you carry a tray , was mediocre to say the least. It is convenient if shopping at IKEA and fairly cheap.Stick with the soup.

This trip was the first time I experienced IKEA's breakfast. I've eaten lunch/dinner there in the past and I always opt for the meatballs. They are yummy! For breakfast, I couldn't get over the price. So very inexpensive and there was quite a bit of food. I love that the sausage was turkey! It was very good and would definitely go there for breakfast again.

For what it is and the cheap price (like Ikea's products) the food is edible. If you want better food and a restaurant style experience there are many other nearby choices.

Really disappointed in the quality of food in the cafeteria. Not like it used to be :( It is most definitely fast food...

AS everyone knows, IKEA is a big place to what thigs for house and more. But a great idea if you are feeling tired and overwhelmed with so much to see and walk you might need a break. It is a great idea to have a cafeteria right at the store. Prices are not too expensive. If you are a member which you can get a card in less than 5 minutes, you get coffee and tea for free. Overall, a great place to eat.

Lots of choices, speedy service. Fast grill with deep-fried favorites as well as a little something for finer tastes. Menu changes so don't get comfortable. Super affordable prices and promotions; extra kid friendly.

Hearty foods to give you sustenance during a rough day of full contact shopping. A variety of foods from the snack-ish to the meal-ish.

We had the salmon entree and the pasta with marinara. The shrimp salad was fresh but not that great. The vegetable soup was very good. The apple cake was excellent.

Meatballs...whats in em? Dont know...good....meatballs....umm umm. Me thinks they put nutmeg in em. Cheap and plentiful, and you get a cafeteria tray, not to keep but to use when you go thru the line. Meatballs.

Two parts to this cafeteria. The fast food Hot Dog and Meatball place and then the full cafeteria style eatery. The cafeteria is worth a visit. There's a main protein course that also includes a fish dish, a pasta section, and a salad section. It's cafeteria style so just grab and pay for what you want and then fill your drinking glass before taking your seat. It helps too if you bus your own dishes to the collection area after you're done eating.

The breakfast isn't gourmet quality, but it is a good deal and decent.

Went to Ikea to look for some cheap items. While there, went through their cafeteria upstairs.Got the obligatory swedish meatballs with side veggies, salad and mashed potatoes and gravy. It wasn't that busy but by the time we sat down, the food was cold. Meatballs were pretty good. Mashed and gravy would have been better at least warm. Small portions and not a good value. Also, the place was dirty. Not a fan. Won't be back.

The food is average at best, but you can't beat the price! We eat a meal every time we shop there.

I had never had lingonberry jam until a group of us had lunch here on a trip through the IKEA store. Loved it!!! A good place to have a taste of Sweden!

First time eating a meal here. Salmon and vege plate adequate though not fancy. Was tasty and I added a desert option that was very good. Friendly staff. Great view at simlpe tables and chairs. Was quiet when I was there. Can imagine it can get noisy at busy times and especially with children.

Quick food. Didn't really dig the meatballs. To the point college canteen type of setup. Budget food. Clean.

The meatballs are good, as are most of the rest of their fare. The price is very reasonable. But if you want to get blown away, try their chocolate cake. It's amazing! It's the one thing that is a little pricey, but its rich enough for two or three people to share.

Good food at good prices. Breakfast is great. If there for lunch try the Swedish Meatballs or their chicken fingers.

The Swedish meatballs are great. The prices are wonderful and it is nice to have a place to eat while you shop.

The food is fine. No complaints it is affordable basic food inside a store near the airport. Great choice if you need energy and you can''t make a decision about what color LACK you should buy.

Cheapest food around my son ate for free which was already SUPER cheap. I enjoyed lox and a salad. After some more shopping got a 2.25 latte on the way our

Had 15 meatballs, mixed veggies, roll and fruit. I was really surprised when we walked in and found out the had veggies without butter, whole grain bread and fruit. Pretty clean meal and it tasted good.

I had heard from others that the Ikea cafe was worth visiting so on this trip to Portland, we did. It was good, but not as awesome as I was led to believe. I guess it depends on which one you are visiting. This one in Portland was ok, not out of this world.

Wow.....what a surprise. Food was really good, great presentations. We had salads....with chicken.....a nice lunch!

There is a microwave oven near the drink island. This is not a typical restaurant. If your food cools off, don't be shy, head over to the microwave and pop it in for 30 seconds. Good food.

Food was pretty blah. Good pricing. Great parking and mass transit are available. Didn't try the world famous Chicken!

As always, the IKEA Cafe is a favorite hang out for the men who don't love to wander through Ikea. Coffee, meatballs, and desserts are favorites.

Tried a few different things but mainly went for the free coffee. Browsed the offerings and would try many. Saw many having breakfast while others were having lunch. Worth a try if you go to IKEA

WE thought since IKEA was close to our hotel we would go there for dinner. Big Mistake! Once we wound our way through the maze, ended up at the café. Since others have raved about the meatballs, we figured we would give them a try-YUK! They were Luke warm and not very tasty and neither was the salad. Never again!

We're from Hawaii and first time visitors to the IKEA store at Cascade Station near the Portland airport. For lunch, I shared a burger and fries with my girlfriend and my daughter had the Swedish meatballs. Dessert was chocolate cake shared by all of us. The food was tasty, prices were reasonable and the staff was friendly and efficient. We would go back and only wish they'd open a store in Hawaii so we wouldn't have to fly to the mainland!

When in a city with an Ikea, if convenient, we go there just to eat. The day after Christmas. we were on our way from downtown Portland to the Portland airport on MAX light rail. Instead of eating at the airport, we hopped off the train at Ikea, with our luggage, had a nice dinner, and then got back on the train to the airport for our flight. Very easy. The meatballs are always good. My wife enjoyed the white fish. Since it was near the 9 p.m. closing time, the cashier even gave us free dessert.

Stopped while we waited to go to the airport. Grabbed soup, salad, and fruit. Was a fun experience for our first time!

Came here twice while visiting Portland. Cafe is upstairs and really cute inside. Cafeteria style. Like the selections of food and drinks. We had a greek salad, mac n cheese and meatballs. Love the pure leaf tea and their own drink fountain. Their ice is so good too! Great prices and great food.

Inexpensive cafeteria style restaurant. Swedish meatballs a specialty. Very family friendly, lots of kids. Prices are very reasonable. If you have eaten in any Ikea restaurant you will find the taste of the food no different here.

We like this at 9:30 on a Saturday morning before the store gets crazy busy. Fun cafeteria, lots of roll-up options. Great store to wander around and get home decor ideas.

We spent the afternoon shopping at the IKEA in Portland, and started off at the cafe to have lunch with family. The cafeteria-style dining was inexpensive, yummy and had lots of choices such as pasta, meat, wraps, salads, sandwiches, soups and desserts. Also, kids under 12 got to eat free!

Okay, so this is a cafeteria within a large home furnishings store, located in a shopping district very close to Portland Airport and the I-205 bridge over the Columbia. But when we visited two of our adult kids in the Portland area, it offered a budget alternative for feeding a group of folks. The cafeteria is very clean and bright, and the help is attentive and courteous. There's not a huge selection, but everything is good. Some Swedish items (lingenberry pop, etc), plus daily specials. If you have an IKEA Family Card, you get an additional discount. This evening, we had the turkey special, a full meal with good portions and very reasonable price. No tipping, of course. But it was just right for this occasion. Yes, you have to walk through part of the store to get to the cafeteria, but for times when all you want is inexpensive, wholesome food without drama or stress, this place is an excellent choice.

We visisted IKEA for the first time and decided to try the cafe. It seemed to not have as much as we expected. We shared the meatball combo. It was pretty good, it came with mashed potatoes and some berries. We ordered a drink on the side. If you are going to the store and are hungry I'd recommend, but I wouldn't go to the store just for the restaurant.

I work close by so this is a easy stop for us and i get to check out a few things i really don't need on the way to get some lunch grub

We have been here many times. Both the big area and the little cafe. Both have excellent food- great prices and fast service. They have special deals and super cheap menu items. Perfect for kids and adults of all ages. The MAX goes pretty close to it and is walkable.

The food is made with the cheapest ingredients. Very unhealthy. Fatty. Would be afraid to eat there again.

Self service, cafeteria style ala carte selection - what it lacks in quality it makes up for in convenience; don't expect too much and you'll be happier with the outcome!

After what can be hours shopping this store, the IKEA restaurant is a good place for a quick nosh. Would I plan to eat here if I wasn't shopping here? No, but to take the edge off hours of shopping here, it is a quick, cafeteria style meal to recharge the batteries.

Nothing fancy, but affordable with drink and potatoes included and occasionally IKEA will let you eat free when spending $100+ which is exactly what happens when we travel to Portland for tax free shopping.

Always a great little treat! Lots of nearby shopping, 5 minutes from the airport. Love Ikea for this!

We visited the store before taking a break for lunch. The cafeteria style was fine and the food was OK but there are limited options. The mushroom crepes are tasty, with 5 Swedish meatballs added for an additional dollar, quite filling. The Mac and cheese is creamy but was cold. I am sure there are other options worth trying, the prices are low.

I was in Ikea to simply kill some time and walk around. When I saw that cafe I though that it would be "neat" to eat in an Ikea. Boy was I wrong. The meat was dry. The veggies were soggy. Nothing tasted quite right. The food I got did not look like the picture on the menu. I saw a lot of other people eating there who seemed much happier with their food so choose carefully and look at the actual food on the counter first.

We did not have a Ikea card but had registered online had a hard time using the kiosk in-store many employees trade to help us use it but no one could if you create a password online do not use any lower case letters as the kiosk will not accepted it . This place serves cafeteria style and has a lot of great vegiterian options and is pretty inexpensive the gal playing lunch lady was rude and short tempered but the lady at the register was really helpful and nice. Over all we liked it and it was also our first time at the store and it made for a fun trip.

A great cheap place for breakfast, right near our aloft hotel. Can't beat 1.99 for a full breakfast.

A trip to Ikea is not complete without a trip to the café for meatballs! We switch out our mashed potatoes for French fries (how we enjoyed our Ikea meatball meals in Europe) &, of course, finish out our dinner with a slice of delicious Daim cake! We love when we can time our trips to Ikea on a Tuesday night, because then our two kids get to eat for free! They enjoy the food & love to sit by the window & watch for planes flying overhead!

the meatballs with gravy and mashed potatoes are the best! and the price is right, too.

It takes forever to look at everything at Ikea, so it's nice to have a restaurant right there to stop for a meal. I enjoyed my salmon dinner and the price was right.

Smorgasbord style with evening specials. The meatballs are fab! The salmon, when available, is really good.

I wish I knew there was a place like this before. I loved it. my kids loved it. I really recommend this. good quality and great prices!

Crazy environment for lunch, love the meatballs and dessert. Consistently good, we get a kick out of Ikea.

When shopping at Ikea, I always have lunch in the cafeteria. The meatballs are great, and the chocolate cake is to DIE FOR!!! The place is very wheelchair friendly, and the staff is always nice and helpful. I also tried lingonberry sauce for the first time, and it was very good.

Breakfast is a great value for $1.99 (free coffee if you have their card) eggs, bacon, french toast are very good. The swedish meat ball dinner is a good choice for a filling meal. The desserts are good. The $6.99 turkey dinner was very good November Special The Max stop is a short walk away

Not exactly a restaurant that I would take a date to, but it has good food at excellent prices.

IKEA has cleverly situated the restaurant in the middle of the long trek through the store, so right about the time you need sustenance, you stumble across it. Yes, there are Swedish meatballs, and the gravy is wonderful. There aren't a lot of food choices, but what they have tastes good and is served for a reasonable price. Cafeteria-style food selection and seating allows you to eat quickly and get back to the important stuff - shopping!

On this trip to the Northwest, we stopped at 3 different IKEA stores and sampled food at each. Never disappointed. Great for families.

It is a cheap $2 and you get what you pay for. Would I do it again, I guess. Eggs are kinda old and grey looking when they use the ice cream scooper! The sausage and pancake are ok. The potatoes are the really what I liked. They need to offer an extra scoop for an up charge. Breakfast and a drink, $3.69.

At the beginning when they opened the store, price and quality was better. Once a while we go there and are disappointed. Prices are still reasonable but the taste is mediocre. It looks like they are Americanized.

We stayed at two hotels within walking distance of this Ikea within a week. We walked to Ikea once for breakfast and once for the Friday buffet. This was part of a family trip, so adults and kids were able to eat better food than fast food for even better prices. We were hooked! Breakfast is awesome! I can't get enough of the swedish pancake things. There are so many choices for such good values. The coffee is really, really good. The Friday night buffet was really good. My only disappointment was that they serve red potatoes with the meatballs on the buffet instead of their mashed potatoes. The desserts that were part of the buffet alone were worth the price of admission.

Being from Alaska, I have heard of the IKEA Cafe's for years and wanted to try one. While it is cafeteria style service and eating, the food was good and the prices were right. There was a sufficient selection of entree options and 8 adults were fed for under $75...not bad for an evening meal.

The food seems ok and it's inexpensive but it's been on the new lately due to poor quality and other issues.

Cafeteria style with classy Scandinavian feel. Get TWO of the $0.99 breakfasts and, with your free IKEA Family status, the coffee is free. The Portland OR cafe opens at 9:30, half an hour ahead of the rest of the IKEA store.

Got hungry while running around to capture the Black Friday deals in Cascade Station. Decided to grab a bite because everyone got hungry. Simple and convenient with all the necessary dinner items for a great price. You get free coffee/tea/Americano or lattes with your IKEA Family card. Great price! And super convenient. Recommend

Need some "fast food" before or after shopping at IKEA? This will work. It's cafeteria style and might remind you of high school, but it's very cheap and easy.

This was a newer and cleaner Ikea than average, and is walkable from the aloft hotel. I had dinner and did some shopping here, which I enjoyed.

This is our go-to stop for a quick, reliable, decent food choice. Kids love telling the servers how many meatballs they would like. It's always neat to see what the Swede's are up in the flat-pack furniture world. OK, we even indulge a buy a piece now and again.

A lovely salmon lasagna and cup of tea at an affordable price! The staff is always incredibly nice too.

Great place to stop after shopping. Staff was friendly. Food was good. Price was right. Will go back again.

While staying at an airport hotel we needed a quick healthy reasonably priced meal. We chose Ikea for all of those things plus its cheery environment, friendly staff and ease of parking and seating.

Love me some Swedish meatballs with lingonberry sauce! Other great items. Kid friendly. Reasonably priced like all ikea stuff. Busy, but beautiful, big windows make it a nice spot. Fun to watch jumbo jets taking off and landing overhead.

A store full of cheap crappy stuff. Food is over rated. People need to buy American furniture and possessions that last.

We were staying close-by at a hotel and went twice to Ikea to eat (and of course to shop, too). The food is super, the help is friendly, the area is clean, and pleasant with fun lighting and photographs.

I have been going to Ikea for years now, and always get a pan of cinnamon rolls on the way out. I went yesterday morning & was disappointed to see the Buns no longer appear to be baked freshly onsite. They are old tasting & not at all like they used to be. Price went up, as quality went way down..

If you love Ikea's clean modern design, mass production and sales and low prices well you won't be dissapointed by the cafe. If on the other hand if you think of Ikea's as cheap shoddy products that look good new and on the surface but don't last, well then, that's probably what you you'll think of the cafe.

Love IKEA we travel 150 miles to shop here. The cafe food is good especially love the Swedish meatballs. One can also buy them to take home frozen. The prices cannot be beat anywhere. The shopping at IKEA is great too!

Cafe style may not produce the best food but it is easy and ready! Got a Swedish American meal with a Swedish pancake (Lingonberry preserves was 50 cents extra, well worth it), turkey sausage (yay for this option), and scrambled eggs. We were coming from the airport mid-morning (a bit before 10 a.m.) and the food tasted like it had been prepared some time earlier (fairly cold and not very fresh tasting) but the people are really nice who work in this cafe area and I was very hungry from a long flight, so I enjoyed it, especially smothered in Lingonberry preserves. I make Swedish pancakes all the time, being of Swedish ancestry, and these weren't great, but mostly because they clearly had been in a steam container for way, way too long. So, except for the technical issues caused by sitting too long on the serving containers, it was a good breakfast. This place is very likable, light and airy and comfortable, filled with all my favorite overhead lamps from the store. Good, hot coffee that's free with member card. Perhaps the real thing that kept this from being a 2 star meal is the price!! Food is very affordable, just a few dollars for an overall good breakfast. I'll be back the next time I'm in Portland. Or perhaps it's time to take a trip to the Ikea in Denver. Got to get me some of that Lingonberry preserves (when I don't have to pack it in my luggage!). And some dishes. And one of those gorgeous lamps. And...

My wife and I love this IKEA! Having food services within the building is genius, especially after walking so much around the store. You tend to get very hungry after shopping. Unlike other places, you have to drive around to a nearby restaurant to find food, but this place has it all. Perfect place for quick bites and affordable.

I love the meatballs and the hot dogs. You can enjoy good grub on the cheap.

I like their food, but can't eat most of it because they use MSG and I am also Gluten-free. Great meatballs and cinnamon rolls. Still, fun to have a cup of tea, a soda or lunch when you make a day of shopping at IKEA!

This is a good place to grab a quik bite to eat or something to drink. I thought the prices were fare and the customer service was good

IKEA Cafe has been a decent quick bite to eat place so we thought we would try their slightly pricier Easter smorgasbord which we thought would be a better quality experience. They had 3 different type of salmon, an array of desserts and a hot buffet. There were two time slots. One was late afternoon and the other was early evening. We chose the latter as we did not want to eat too early. Unfortunately some of the items at the hot bar looked and tasted as if they had been sitting there since the first time slot and they were cold and gross. My mashed potatoes were ice cold, the Swedish sausages were cracked and dry tasting, the veggie meatballs were cold and rubbery and the coffee was strong and bitter. Actually the coffee was so nasty I could not drink it. My wife and I ended up not eating most of it and leaving. Not worth the almost $13 a head they were charging. So if you ever see their smorgasbord advertised I advise you skip and save your money. Portland is one of the best foodie towns in the country and your $13 can get much better food in this town than this slop.

You have to buy the potato chips in the café next to check out their thick crunchy crispy heaven in the mouth

At lunch on June 26 I had Moroccan Lentil soup. It was just warm. I remember sayibg it was easy to eat because it wasn't HOT. I had severe stomach cramps very soon after, while we were shopping. I hurried to my car, hoping to get home before diahrrea struck. I barely made it home and was I ever sick...…………..it went on for several hours.

My husband and I always grab lunch at Ikea before we shop. The cafeteria has a variety of choices and the service is pretty quick (if you're not behind an indecisive individual or a large family). My son loves their fries and chicken fingers meal. The food is great, but for the price, it's a good deal. Oh! They also have 50 cents hot dogs at the smaller cafe downstairs.

At first we thought this place was great. Really it is okay, but nice they have a cafe for breaks.

What - eat at IKEA? Sure... and enjoy good food, reasonable prices and the unique atmosphere. The menu is sort of Scandinavian and the meatballs with gravey are terrific. You will probably also like the strong and tasty coffee.

So convenient for shopping at IKEA. Good food at incredibly low prices including a generous serving of Swedish meatballs and mashed potatoes for $3.99 and shrimp salad with plenty of shrimp for $3.99 and 2 for one offers.

Going out for a nice dinner on Mother's Day can be a disaster, so when our son asked me where i wanted to go, I told him to take me to Ikea. He wanted to take me someplace fancy, but I told him I'd like to eat at Ikea and then go shopping there. The food is very good, prices are reasonable, and there is very little waiting as the food is served cafeteria style.

Wow, $9.99 for a dinner buffet! We stopped in on a Friday evening for some curtain rods and filled our tummys with IKEA's wonderful buffet: Swedish meatballs, smoked salmon, lingonberry juice, pickeled cod, chicken, salads, desserts and more. A great value and shopping to boot!

it wasn't the best but it wasn't bad either. the lingonberry drink was yummy. we'd never been to an IKEA so we decided to give it a shot.

For under $10, one of us had salmon balls with mashed potatoes and veggies, plus a vegetable medallion. And for under $10, the other ate a grilled salmon fillet with veggies and a vegetable medallion. It was cafeteria food, not a gourmet restaurant, but we both found it a very satisfying meal while shopping.

Six of us had breakfast there. The largest plate was scrambled eggs (reconstituted), potatoes, country fried steak (? paper thin but sort of tasty), biscuit, and (thin) gravy. Sort of reminded me of Army food from long ago, but this meal was only $3.49. The next largest plate was $2.49. Any item can be had a la carte. I did also try a plate of gravalox with salad, both very good. I think that was $4.99. We also tried the sausage (mystery meat with a bit of salt) and the Swedish pancakes. These may have been the most flavorful, with sour cream and lingonberry jam. Very good! For the 6 of us, with beverages for 3, the entire tab was only $26. Not great quality or flavor, mostly, but certainly nourishing and well-worth the price.

I like going to IKEA to find great things for my home. I also like to visit the restaurant because of good, fresh food and good value. I was surprised by my Chicken Caesar Salad this time. There were pieces of already wilting lettuce and even the heart of the lettuce (inedible), apparently to add volume to the dish. The taste was good, but it wasn't as fresh as usual. Perhaps there aren't any fresh salad fixings grown in Oregon in March, and it had to be shipped in from California?. Also, the workers seemed a bit frazzled. The atmosphere has usually been very friendly, and now it was rather businesslike, which was disappointing.

For the limited places vegetarians in the West coast have to be content with, IKEA is one such good eatery. Great veggie balls-the veggie sauce on top seems to be freshly cooked, well prepared mashed potatoes and grains. Fantastic Swedish sweet treats in the main section as well as the salad counter. Great garlic breads in the salad counter.

IKEA is a fun little place to shop, the cafe holds you ransom. The prices are outrageous and the service is poor. Dirty tables, no place to sit other than dirty tables and the wait staff is rude, non-caring and actually walked away without reply when asked to provide a washrag so we could clean a table.

We had to come here one evening to have some Swedish meatballs, they are delicious. The portion of mash could have been bigger, but one can't really complain, a meal only cost $2.49 (Tuesday special).

We went to IKEA the night before to see what else we could stuff inside our suitcases. We have no IKEA in Hawaii. Picked up a few items and had the $2 special. A drink and two hot dogs! Yumm!

Everyone knows Ikea, the restaurant doesn't need an explanation. Good basic food, cheap, family friendly, efficient.

Prices are good and the food is usually hot and fresh. The meatballs are the standard fare and pretty good. Ribs when they have them are tender and the sauce isn't spicy but passable. Sweets are nice as well.

Anytime we go to IKEA we always grab something from the cafe. The meatballs have always been very yummy, and a big enough portion to share. The desserts are also worth a try.

It was all planned to have lunch at Ikea after shopping at the nearby stores. Their Swedish Meatballs and a cracker are always a must when eating here for hubby. I usually eat their delicious meatballs but today their Salmon fillet was calling my name. Yummy, and our tummies are filled, now time for Ikea shopping.

Whenever we visit Portland, we eat at Ikea at least once. This is a hard town in which to find good, inexpensive food. I like cafeterias (a thing of the past in most American cities), and prefer them over food courts and fast food joints. You simply get in line, eyeball what you want, and either pick it up or ask the staff to dish it up for you. Options here are limited, but good. Some Swedish items, also some American favorites. Prices are very low. Quality is pretty high. The eating area is simple but clean and neat, with a family-friendly vibe. No attitude or weirdness.

The Swedish meatballs are great, as are the desserts, salads, and a wide range of other menu items. For an inexpensive price, you get a great meal and leave with your appetite vanquished.

Sure, they've got other things, but with their meatballs they could open up a chain of restaurants! Try it all, especially the desserts! Wish they served lutefisk, like the Renton store used to! We always try to incorporate lunch or dinner into our shopping trip to IKEA.

this restaurant inside ikeas has good food at decent prices

Wonderful 99 cent breakfasts! They also have lunches and dinners. They are delicious and inexpensive.

I have eaten several times when shopping at IKEA, but my impression is that the quality of the meatballs (the staple) is not what it was. It's convenient if you are shopping at the Cascades center (especially at IKEA), and it's cheap, but it's more of a cafeteria than a restaurant.

On a rainy day at a hotel right nearby so we took a walk through the store. This one is a little smaller then the one close to us. We are looking at adding an addition on our house so we were happy to be able to get some bath, closet, and bedroom ideas. Stoped at the restaurant and enjoyed the meatballs and the chicken finger for lunch.

We have been here many times and it always consistent and reliable. We try not to visit at regular meal times because it can get so crowded at this location. The food is always good here, love the meatballs. It is nice to be able to sot and think or discuss options and purchases. We like to try and sit by the windows and watch the planes come in and out of the airport.

It probably should be on everyone's bucket list to have the meatballs at Ikea. But the food is only fair quality. The only really yummy thing they've got is the chocolate cake. The price is right. The atmosphere isn't (very noisy). I'm sure we'll do it again the next time we shop at Ikea, but we're not making the trip just for the food.

I've dined at IKEA's all over the world. This café filled the bill with quick service, cleanliness and smiling employees. I ordered the veggie balls for the first time and a side of meatballs. Who can eat at IKEA and pass on the meatballs? The veggie were cold yet tasty. Perhaps the heat table malfunctioned? Thank heaven my guts withstood the incoming bacteria. I'd eat again at IKEA, nevertheless. The menu seems to offer more and more with each passing year. Great place to feed the kids economically. The Portland, OR café is on the second floor so you have panoramic views out the windows. The train stops here or drive to the massive parking lot. It's IKEA. And, you can shop.

It sounds rather silly reviewing a cafe inside a huge store, but IKEA is so large, you may need to replenish your energy during your shopping trip! We ate at the cafeteria-style cafe on the upper floor. They have a fairly extensive selection of items, including both traditional Swedish and American food. Portions are generous. I had a bowl of soup and a shrimp sandwich, both very good. Total $4.50. My husband had a large chicken Caesar salad, a buffalo chicken wrap, and a bowl of soup for $10. He's a large eater, and it was almost too much for him to finish. We split a small soft drink (refillable) for $1.30. There are huge windows on one side of the cafeteria, and a very high ceiling, so it is light and airy and quite pleasant. IKEA also has a smaller counter-style eatery on the ground floor just outside the checkstand. They serve hot dogs, Swedish meatballs in a bowl (for only $1), and a few other selections. So if you want just a snack, you might try this instead of the cafeteria. They also have a Swedish foods section next to the checkstands, with all kinds of interesting packaged and frozen imported foods. Even if you are not shopping, this would be a good place to have an inexpensive and tasty meal.

Easy analysis here!!!! Where will you find hearty breakfast for $1.99???? No where; that is the answer except IKEA. To sum it, you get a filling breakfast with eggs, potatoes and pancakes for $1.99plus you get complimentary coffee Recommend!!!

If your PDX hotel doesn't offer a breakfast, and you plan to sleep late, IKEA cafe offers some good choices for rock bottom prices. Opens at 9:30a

Fancy? No. But nicely done. Near our hotel. Breakfast nice. Check your bill as they have similar looking things with different prices.

Our new favorite place to eat in Portland.. Vegan "meat"balls... vegan soup... I even bought some of the vegetable balls to bring home... The cashier was beyond helpful. My ONLY complaint and that is why it is 4 stars and not 5, is the veggies with our meal were cold... I don't take food back..... after I ate and was waiting on mom to finish, I glanced around and saw a microwave... next time I would use that... It was our first time but it won't be our last... Only we live 2 hours away. We don't have a lot of food choices so I can't speak for any of the other dishes.

Stopped here in the cafe while shopping. The prices and food were good. Lots of choices. It is cafateria style and you can purchace items as a meal or by them selfs.

Before embarking on the shopping adventure that is IKEA, it's always prudent to grab some Swedish meatballs, lingonberry soda, and chocolate cake to fortify oneself for the upcoming task at hand! Great prices, yummy food, and kid friendly environment.

This was our first food experience at Ikea. Setup is cafeteria style. They have multiple specials at unbeatable prices; for 3 adults we paid $21. Taste is acceptable - not fine dining flavors but good for the price. Servers are very friendly - even the cashier were kind.

Always great food at a great price - I've never been disappointed :) Love the convenience of grabbing a bite in the middle of shopping

Very tasty vegetarian food and deserts. Feels like you are in Europe. The Swedish food is great. The location is wonderful, close to the airport and it can be easily accessed by the tram.

We stopped by IKEA because we saw the large crowds there and wanted to see for ourselves why everyone likes IKEA. We headed first to the restaurant for a snack. What a huge place. They had swedish meatballs, salad, chicken nuggets , and Spaghetti. The deserts are amazing ,too. Don't forget to get 3 large candy bars for $2.47 total and no tax. Wow!!!!

Horrible and dismissive customer service. I guess that’s what you expect based on the quality on the merchandise. I have had issues with products I’ve bought and they make you feel like you’ve done something wrong. This seems to be a company wide problem. I have been to many across the states and get the same service which means it’s a top down issue.

we have never eaten Dinner there, but lunches are always good. We are 'Ikea Family' , therefore often take advantage of the discounted lunch, the free coffee ( which is excellent!- those Swedes know how to make good coffee), and after walking what seems like miles through the store, our feet appreciate the rest. It would be nice if more families took advantage of the kids' playroom, it can get very noisy!

We just stopped to waste some time while shopping. We were trying to make a decision on a couple purchases. Very nice employees. And, we might add...Great Coffee!

Trying to return two shelves. Been here 25 minutes. They are using three different series of numbers, so you can't predict when your number is coming up. There are three people working an ,12 people returning items. Two customers just walked out. They had been waiting over an hour. Another lady just walked out after 30 minute wait. Wow. So inefficient! Been here 35 minutes now. Now three employees are helping one person! Unbelievable!

Awesome buffet with reasonable pricing --- before or after strolling the store for incredible bargains

Ikea is the best! They offer a full gluten free menu including meatballs, mashed potatoes, gravy, and cake! My kids are in heaven when we go here. Plus, Mom is happy when kids eat free Monday-Friday. :-)

There are good selections in the menu. If you get a free members hip, you get a free drink. Before, after or in between you shop you get take a break and eat. Overall a great experience.
Best lunch spot ! So affordable -- just don't spend too much at IKEA
So many options and such great prices ! The only problem is you are at ikea and will end up buying so much stuff that you will then need to assemble lol - fab for families and you can't beat the prices
