The pizza was great. The dough light but with excellent taste. The ingredients fresh. It was full of locals. The place was clean and the service was good for the amount of people that was there. we didn't wait to be seated.

Casual venue with a real family kitchen vibe. Great pizza delivered to the table in good time, interesting local beer on offer too.

My son and I were in North Beach and decided to stop at Il Casaro for lunch. Everything was DELISH! Olives, burrata, pizza, everything. Highly recommend!

We were very well received, great kindness. Fast, volume and flavor in pizzas. We recommend.

My wife and I met our niece and her family there for lunch pizza. They have some unusual combinations, such as tuna pizza. I do not recommend that, but the others we ordered were great. They are very authentic pizzas not the stuff they sell at Pizza Hut. It is worth a trip if you are in the North Beach area.

Friendly and friendly staff, fast and accurate service, few dishes on the menu but really good. We entered by chance on our first night in San Francisco and returned to dinner every day of our stay. Excellent pizzas and carbonara. The tiramisu to try.

No italians working there. It was so freaking loud inside, my watch said 85db! Just as an comparison..in the airplane normally its 70db..so the athmosphere was really bad. The food was decent, Pizzadough lacked of salt and the mozzarella tasted of nothing.

Italian pizza and very good, the guys who serve are nice and smiling Italians even the honest price all positive

This is the best pizza place in SF. True Italian pizza, ran by Italians. 100% recommended. I've been here multiple times, I love it.

As someone who has eaten pizza in Italy, this is the real thing! Service was great and food arrived quickly. Definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Little Italy! Also, good price for the product quality.

Popped in for a slice of late lunch life in little Italy. Really nice feeling of the place and love the open air windows to the street. Place was full at 3 pm but for good reason. Pizza was slow to arrive but man was it good. We had mortadella pistachio and calabrese - both were excellent and there were no survivors. Yum! Only improvement would be to fill my wine glass a little more full next time - but overall this restaurant truly believes pizza should fun and accessible- not pretentious and expensive. Great stuff

We had a great seat at the bar directly in front of the mouth of the Pizza Oven that makes the wonderful pizza in just a few seconds time. We first ordered a Caesar salad and the baked cauliflower with capers and olive oil. the Caesar was vey good but the Cauliflower could have been more carmelized. it was mushy instead of crispy. BTW, we pared with a half bottle of the house red wine. nice with everything. then we ordered the pizza. we ordered the bufalina with half anchovies and half eggplant. oh, we watched them make it. it was gooood. service was attentive and friendly and helpful.

We had 2 pizzas and they were food, could have been better with crustier crust ... we have the meatballs as the starter and that was seriously goooood !

Unfortunately, my recent visit to this restaurant left much to be desired. Despite the place being virtually empty, the service was shockingly poor. The staff seemed more focused on clearing our table than ensuring we had a pleasant dining experience. Plates were whisked away, even those we hadn't finished, without a single inquiry about our meal. It felt like we were being rushed out, and this was at 4 pm – a perplexing situation. The pizza was good, but the overall experience was marred by the staff's apparent haste to get us out. A great meal should be complemented by equally great service, and regrettably, this fell short of expectations.

The pizza here is really good, and you can’t beat wood fired anything, but add the Calabrian chili oil and Calabrian chilis into the mix and it makes this the best pizza place that I have tried in San Francisco.

Given the comments, our expectations were high. We expected a real italian pizza but it was just disapointing. We ate because we were hungry but its definitely not the best pizza in town.

Finally a pizza! After 15 days you close your eyes and you don't feel like you're on the other side of the world. Ingredients of excellent quality dough of excellent leavening and baking in a traditional oven make it an exquisite result. Cute place always crowded requires some waiting (even in the cold wind and with the fog lowering it is worth it). If you're homesick it makes you get over it. High price compared to Italy but normal by American standards.

One of my coworkers has lived in North Beach for 20+ years and this is his favorite place. We went for lunch and shared appetizers including asparagus and fresh mozzarella and a wood fired pizza. Everything tasted very fresh and authentic. My coworker knows the owner who came by to talk to us for awhile.

Arrived in SF after a long flight feeling jet lagged and needed something to eat quickly. happened on Il Casaro by chance. Service was friendly and pizza delicious.

Ordered the procettio pizza . It was over rated and roaches were crawling on the wall. We will not be back! There are much better places in the area!

We tasted the appetizer, pizza, main course and desert . The food is simply excellent. Service is friendly and the atmosphere is very warm. If we are going back to SF, for sure we will eat here again

Had dinner last night and this place was great! We started with the Mozzarella appetizer - which was amazing and then had two pizzas! Both were great and our waitress (didn’t remember her name) was superb! She was so helpful, knowledgable and fun! This is a great neighborhood place to grab pizza, wine and a great atmosphere. Really, really good and highly recommended!

I visited Italy a couple of months ago, and this pizza reminded me so much of what I had there. I had a Quattro Formaggi pizza with added prosciutto, and it was absolutely delicious! Service was excellent and quick and it was a great experience!

We managed to walk in to this very busy restaurant at 5pm on a Thursday but by the time we left at 18:30 there was a waiting list and people standing outside. It is hardly surprising because the Pizzas were beautiful and some of the best we have ever had...and we have had quite a few. The base was really crispy and light and the toppings were just right with not too much oil applied. The draft beer was an added bonus. Would highly recommend.

Me and my husband visited this place as I wanted to try real Neapolitan pizza in the very California. We’ve been there twice the first time visit was really like Naples, taste and dough of the pizza was just perfect, the second time I went there with a huge excitement but it was not as good as the previous time,I’m not sure why. Anyways if you want to remember the taste of Napoli pizza this place is the one.

We went to this place tonight. Although the restaurant was very busy the service was still good. The pizza was burned and still not crusty at all (we had three different types-all burned) . The same was with all the pizzas we saw! (we were seated opposite to the oven). We will not go there again.

The Pizza with the mozzarella is delicious. Great Tomato sauce and Olive Oil . The appetizer full of taste.

If I want pizza while I am in SFO, this is where I come. This is no cheap-and-cheerful everyday pizza joint, no by-the-slice reheated horror, no thick-base, oil-filled, topping overload monster, this is pizza done the way Italians do pizza. You can sit around the "bar" and watch the whole pizza-making process unfold (my home-made pizzas have improved tremendously copying their process). Their wood-fired pizza oven runs at the ideal 650-700 degrees required to turn dough into crispy pizza crust in about 90 seconds - the traditional Napoli way, adding a smoky flavour hint as well. A healthy covering of good quality toppings and of course crumbly mozzarella which turns to liquid, cheezy goodness in seconds. Some ingredients, like prosciutto, are added after the pizza comes out of the oven and just soften on the hot pizza, to respect their delicate flavours. Add friendly staff and reasonably priced drinks and you won't find a better place for pizza in SFO, despite the glitzy offerings further up the street...

Waited 30mins for a table , but it was worth it. Pizza is simple but great. The appetizers are small but tasty

Crowds, noise, uncomfortable chairs and so-so service notwithstanding, this place sure does serve up a killer pizza. Delicate thin crust, premium cheese and ingredients. Definitely worth it for a quick pie fix! Luscious tiramisu to boot!

It was late one evening and by chance we come across this place on the street. It was full, but despite this they asked us to wait and after a short while we sat outside. The pizza was good, I liked it, and so did the pasta dishes all'amatriciana and carbonare. Friendly staff. I can easily recommend it.

Amazing pizza, as good as in Italy, outside setup cold be better and waiter should be more friendly. We were here for a pizza for lunch and we were not disappointed.

The food was very delicious, we tried various pizzas, the spaghetti carbonara and lasagne. All food was delicious and freshly prepared. The waiter were very accommodating and the ambience pleasant and welcoming.

Good pizza, but I find it rather rude, that the waiter showed the check to us and after receiving the credit-card, there was suddenly added 20% gratitude - that is not good service. Asked about the reason, she told us that is was the standard if you are 4 people! They could at least put up a sign or state it in the menu-card, if this is the standard, instead of “surprising” people after taking the credit card. The service was ok, but I did not like the way they surprise you at the end!

Read the warm recommendations at TA, looked forward to the meal. Unpolite welcome and the feeling of bothering the waiters made us leave the place before ordering anything. Thank God there is more than 5000 other restaurants in SF to choose from👍

Went for lunch yesterday. I was very impressed by the ambience and food. We ordered the grilled Calamari and the Diavolo Pizza. Both were delicious. Ariel, our waiter was also really good. He was alone in the restaurant but did a fantastic job. Very professional and quick service. I would highly recommend this Pizzeria in North Beach. Well worth a visit!

I mean wow! We heard about this place and it did not disappoint. We walked in immediately and sat at the bar so my wife could watch them throw the pizzas in the oven! The water in the glass bottle was a nice touch when seated. My wife and I were just in Italy last summer and the mozzarella and margarita pizza brought us right back! Service was good and you can’t beat the taste of the pizza dough and cheese!

We live in Germany so Italy is close by to get some good pizza. But this place is definitely the best place outside of Italy we have been to to get pizza. Dough is great, original ingredients, nice pizza oven. Don't look further, come here and enjoy a great pizza and a super cool location.

With thanks to the concierge at the Fairmont for the recommendation...this restaurant was terrific. As far as pizzas go...it doesn't get better. What a classy restaurant. Everything...the room, atmosphere, service and food...brilliant.

The prosciutto pizza was very tasty. We also had the roasted cauliflower with capers and chile oil. Great side dish. Alex was our server. She did a great job on a very busy night getting us drinks and food. Go early if you can to avoid a long wait in line.

A pizza shop that surprises with a very well worked dough and a style that is quite close to Neapolitan pizza. The price is suitable for the quality they offer and the staff are friendly and attentive. A recommended option if you are looking for good pizza without pretense.

Il Casaro was a little gem that we found after deciding not to wait for the queue in our chosen venue and by crikey were we in for a treat in terms of mozzarella, pizza and a great venue in the heart of Little Italy, San Francisco.

As an Italian I can say that I felt at home. The service was excellent, especially due to the help of Samuel, a very kind and polite Italian waiter.

I was looking for an Italian place for my family of 5 and we had many good options based on other people's reviews but landed on this one after the first two were closed or not answering their phones. Despite the busy night we were seated quickly and drinks and food was delivered as they are ready, so much fa st we than I anticipated. The food was excellent!!! The 5 of us including young ones and teenagers loved the pizza and lasagna we ordered. Will definitely go again.

Happened by chance, excellent pizza, like an Italian pizzeria. Italian personnel. To recommend, the Service was also good.

Could be an off day I suppose but I've had better pizza back home in a pub of all places! Northstar! I will be back in a few days to try again as I truly believe this was an off day! The service was fine surroundings were also nice. Staff were pleasant too

The owner is very nice and amicable . He opened the restaurant for us 30 minutes before their official opening hour just to not make us wait. The carbonara and pizza Il casaro were delicious. I absolutely recommend this place. Excellent food and service!!!

Stopped here for a quick lunch after a bus tour round the city. The food was delicious but sadly the service let it down as we were not made to feel welcome at all and the manager barely looked at us never mind spoke when we were ordering. The pizza was 10/10 so this was a great shame.

Walked in after a stop at City Lights and found it to be one of the best place in SF! Great beet salad, pizza and cappuccino.....worth the visit.

N osso dinner was in the North Beach neighborhood, known for strong Italian influence, at the restaurant Il Casaro. We ordered a carbonara and a mozzarella pizza with calabresa – simply magnificent! A little bit of Italy in San Francisco.

Finally a real Italian pizzeria. In North Beach the Italian Quarter, bakes delicious pizzas And great first courses. Open all day, a convenient stopover for those looking for homey flavours

Looking for a nice Italian restaurant we stopped at this modern restaurant. We ordered Pizzas 🍕 and got a pleasant surprise. Not long after ordering we got four pizzas with thin dough and they thick crust. All well prepared and with content like in Italy. Service was quick informal and professional. I would comeback anytime.

I had a dinner in Casaro pizza The pizza was very good , the service totally unprofessional rude and not as Italian way, I pay 47.95 I left 2.05 of gratuities ,but they deserve 0 Anyway they charge me 54.95, that's means they stole a few dollars, Anyway if I come back in San Francisco I go back in il Casaro and i gonna leave 0 becouse they deserve 0 How exactly was that service they give me !

Very good pizzeria for a decent Award. Served very quickly. Pizza and pasta are excellent. The setting and friendly and the servers are very nice

We were in San Francisco on a Sunday they had the air show for fleet week and the day of the Italian Heritage Parade. This place is about a block off the parade route. They had a waiting list but it only took about 5 minutes to get seated. We sat at the bar and watched them make our pizza and cook it in the oven right out in the open. Even though our waitress was trying to cover most of the restaurant, she was attentive and polite. One of the best margherita pizzas we've ever had.

May be I have been just lucky to stop by the day my fellow Italian pizzaiolo was working....eating in this amazing pizzeria you could close your eyes and believe you are in Napoli... it is very hard , in a globalised world of fake “original food” and “Chinese” ingredients to find pearl like this one. It just clicked: for me love at first sight. Best Pizza in San Francisco, original products, Italian “ accoglienza “. Forget the third generation wannabe...

Like in Italy! Absolutely delicious! Quickly baked in a wood fire oven, with fresh mozzarella. They also have a mozzarella bar. Highly recommended

Enjoyed delicious pizza at Il Casaro on two occasions, both times were great. It's great for sit-down pizza, especially if you're meeting a friend or family member, but even solo-dining here is great. Service was satisfactory on both visits and prices aren't too bad, not really cheap and not really too expensive either. There's certainly plenty of options for pizza nearby, but this one for me is a solid choice on any day. Love their parklet outside as well. That was really needed in this area.

All the way from Australia and heard this pizza restaurant had been voted in the top ten pizza joints in the US. Enjoyed the pizza so much, we went back twice

We went there around midnight, great pizzas and appetizers, also the draft IPA was great, will go back again for sure.

Loved the pizza, just like Italy. Great oven taste on the crust. Staff was very attentive the moment we walked in. The restaurant was quite busy, but the staff recommended two tables to choose from. Filled the water bottle at our table continuously. Very good house Prosecco wine. Nice modern, clean atmosphere. Excellent pizza and appetizers, want to go back. Prices mid-range for San Francisco, very good value for quality of food. Highly recommend.

We had lunch on Saturday and it was very busy. This restaurant is simple but very pleasant to sit and have a meal. We ate Pizza, 2 different types of Lazania and Calzone. Everything was very tasty. The service was very good and prices reasonable. Recommended. .

Waited about 30 minutes to get seated there on Saturday night around 830pm, but boy was it worth the wait. Our server was very friendly and professional with great recommendations. He even spoke French, Italian, Spanish and English. The buffalo mozzarella was really fresh and really good. But the highlight of the meal had to be the margarita pizza which was almost as good as what I've had in Naples. It was amazing, with fresh ingredients and tasted amazing. Two thumbs way up to Cesaro!!!

Everything we had was delicious! The panna cota for dessert was excellent. Service is great. Be prepared to wait outside for a table. Very worth the wait.

We came across this place (thought the stinking rose looked a bit over priced) and popped in for a late lunch. The food was nice, however the service was particularly unfriendly and sullen. We weren’t offered any drinks which we thought was very odd as most restaurants make their money on drinks - and we fancied a wee vino but there you go. As I say the food was nice but not the most amazing pizzas we’ve ever had...

Great service. So sweet and friendly servants. We got 2 pizzas, 1 calzone, tiramisu, panna cotta, and pizza with Nutella and banana. The food tasted great. Delicious good raw material. And nice st it is done Italian so no pineapples on pizza. Can only recommend this place.

We were visiting SFC for a few days and were walking around to find a place to eat. My wife is Italian and we saw this place (the Castro location on Church St), so decided to try it out, especially with high ratings from TripAdvisor. Overall, it was all right. It seems the high ratings mostly refer to their pizza, but wife ordered the cheese lasagna and I had the meat lasagna. Both were good and plentiful, but my wife makes everything in her own lasagna from scratch and its hard to get high ratings when I'm comparing to hers. Prices were very reasonable though, considering everything in SFC seems to be very expensive.

We went to the Casaro after reading TripAdvisor reviews, but after trying in another pizzeria close by. We were very positively surprised. The pizza was very good and really done on the "neapolitan" style, since we are from Naples. Services was not sophisticated but good enough. Price adequate considering we are in SF.

Lots of pizza places talk up their crust, but Il Casaro is one that really delivers. We stopped in for dinner one night before seeing a show and were impressed. We ordered the lasagne and margarita pizza and both were just perfection. The lasagne was just straight from Nonna’s kitchen and the pizza was impossible to fault too. Our waiter was friendly and helpful and our meals arrived quickly. Lots of love goes into this food, you can just tell. Look no further for great pizza in North Beach.

I had dinner in this place on 22nd October 2019 when I was on a business trip to SF. Although the total amount was 25.36 $, they charged the amount the second time as 35.36 $. I saw this when I returned to my country. Fortunately, I have the receipt and called my bank to apply for cancellation. I also canceled my credit card. Their behavior is not ethical or acceptable. Unbelievable!! I did not have anything as 35.36 $ and they also took the second time... I never recommend this place .. Do not use a credit card, pay by cash! As an observation, the restaurants in the US always make people leave restaurants as soon as possible .. they bring bill without asking and force you to leave even without swallowing your bites.. this is so different in our culture (Turks, Greeks, and Europeans). The customer is important. The staff never try to send them. Instead, they serve additional tea/coffee/deserts...

Went in on a whim. Sat at the bar. Great atmosphere. Loud but in a good way. Lots of different people. Could watch the pizzas being made in the wood fire oven. Service was okey. Food was really good. Had a pasta, a pizza and an amazing tiramisu. Would highly recommend this place.

When North Beach expands, it needs to do it right. Il Casaro does it better than right! Im thrilled at this newish spot on Church Street. I’ve eaten at its older sibling in North Beach and was waiting for Church St to open. The Calabrian hot oil is so good, its worth the sweat. From the quirky, friendly, professional staff, to the stable, flavor packed dishes, its set to become my weekly “go to” for eats. They move food fast. So your starters may get out only minutes before the entree or pizza does. So let your server know to hold the entree order till your starters are served.

What can I say, the pizza was quite good, I'm from Italy and I love pizza, and even if I don't live Naples we get spoiled with pizza. Where I'm from I would give these pizzas 4 stars, but being in US I think the place deserve 5 stars. I think it's as good as it can get here in US.

We were in search of a try Neapolitan pizza and this place delivered. I got the Sausage and broccoli rabe pizza because this is my favourite when I go to Naples and it was delicious. The staff were also very friendly. It was very busy and they do not take reservations so be prepare to queue.

If you want to re-savour the tastes of home this place is perfect. Friendly and Italian staff. Nice place prices in line with the place. Excellent pizza (Neapolitan high edge) and excellent carbonara. Bravo

While visiting in San Francisco and walking around, there are so many pizza places. This one caught my eye and so my family and I decided to try it that night for dinner. First of all, excellent atmosphere! Although there is no outside dining, the windows are open to allow the sounds of San Francisco to flood in while you eat. Sports playing on the tv’s and you can tell that people like eating here. Bottles of water were placed on our table and we were giving a little time to acclimate to the atmosphere of the place. We ordered our drinks and the waiter was very helpful in answering all of our “out of town” questions. We decided on the Diavola Pizza and the Calzone. WOW! Not a piece was left. Everybody was full and we had a great evening of laughter and family. Great San Francisco experiwnce!

We went because we wanted real Neapolitan food. The Bufalina and Diavola pizzas were exactly as we remembered during our visit to Campania. We topped it off with the Aglianico red wine. The food and the service were excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience.

Amazing I had the Lasagna Zucca & Salsiccia made with butternut squash, sausage, mushroom, and behamel total incredible and it was a company by a top notch margarita pizza. 5 Stars love it..

If you like Neapolitan style pizza, this is the place to go! Mozzarella di bufala is fresh and tasty I recommend it

If you like delicious pizza then this place is a must! You can see the chef making the pizza from your table and cooking it in a traditional stone oven. Quick and tasty this food can not be missed. The margarita pizza with such simple ingredients was done beautifully, from the thinner base to the dense and chewy crust. Reasonably priced, fresh and tasty.. Don't miss this gem!

We were staying just up the street at Hotel Boheme,so this was a convenient place to have an early dinner.service was good, and the food was excellent. No dress code, nice and relaxed. I would eat here again.

Excellent pizza better than many places in Italy, excellent quality... top La Spezia service. Highly recommended for any occasion. Thank you we had a great time

The wood burning pizza made this our decided lunch stop - we walked up from Fisherman’s Wharf where we heard the food was mediocre and over priced! We had olives and Proscuitto appetisers then shared an N’Duja Calabrese pizza. A little pricey compared to the Pizza we have experienced in Milan, Italia, but really just as lovely! Chilli Oil is brilliant but not for the faint hearted!

Pizzeria at the Italian Quarter in San Francisco. Good pizza and friendly and friendly staff. Prices unthinkable by our standard but in line with those of the city. Pizza and beer 70 euros in 2.

Il Casaro Pizzeria & Mozzarella Bar in North Beach was the perfect dinner spot for my family of four on NYE. We wanted a casual spot to do an early dinner after exploring the city all day. We arrived at 4:45pm and were able to get seated immediately. Our waitress was attentive and helpful in getting our order placed. We enjoyed the Norma pizza, the Margherita and the Diavola pizza. The pizza crust had the perfect combo of that crisp and chewy that a good Neapolitan style pizza should have. We did not leave any behind. Thank you Il Casaro Pizzeria & Mozzarella Bar for a wonderful final meal of 2024. We look forward to dining with you again in the future.

This place tasted great. I wasn’t a huge fan of their appetizers, but their pizzas are fantastic. I think they are a good place to go if you need a good pizza. The crust on the pizza is really good and not too hard; just the right amount of crispy and softness to it.

Extremely pleasant experience, excellent buffalo pizza as well as the rigatoni carbonara. Our son really appreciated the pasta with tomato sauce. All at an absolutely honest price. Staff - also Italian - very kind and helpful.

Any pizza you get here is delicious! Try to come before people get out of work bcuz the line will be hella long!

Margherita pizza was good. Roasted calamari appetizer was sad. Perhaps two ounces of calamari on two tiny little skewers with some zucchini. Can of Diet Coke met expectations. Service was acceptable, but the credit card reader was out of order so cash only. All in all, the experience was a bit disappointing. I had much higher hopes for the calamari. There are some other fantastic calamari options within 200 yards of this restaurant.

Basic pizzas at skyrocketing prices. Consider eating elsewhere if you like italian food. There is better in town. Tourist trap

Wife and I went here on our honey moon one night and we both Highly recommend this place. Pizzas were one of the best we've ever had!! Wine was also good.

Four of us went for a late lunch after our Alcatraz trip. Great pizzas, served fresh and hot but in the most offhand manner by a waiter who just wanted us out asap, in spite of the place being empty. Even gave us the bill when we actually wanted to order coffee (which we got in the end).

We had a reservation and were seated quickly. We ordered an appetizer and our waitress said, We don't have that. I pointed to the menu and she said it was her first day back since Covid. So, she wasn't familiar with the new menu I guess. The food was pretty good.

Cute little spot in North Beach. We went at a weird time after lunch but before dinner so were the only ones when we walked in and were a little taken aback by that but went in based on reviews anyway. Boy are we glad we did! We got the cauliflower app which was amazing (roasted cauliflower in a chili oil) and 2 pizzas: 1 with eggplant, 1 margherita with burrata. You can get the margherita pizza with burrata instead of mozzarella as stated on the menu, but the waiter suggested keeping the pizza as is and just adding the fresh burrata on top so it stays cold. Oh my goodness it was amazing.

I was in SF this summers in August for 3 days and for 2 dinners I went to Il Casaro. It was as to be in Napoli, my city. The pizza was almost like a pizza you can Eat in Napoli! Complimenti tutto buonissimo, and excellent service!

Our concierge recommended this place and we were grateful. It is a considerable walk from Fishermans Wharf but more than worthwhile. The modern noisy restaurant seems to be constantly busy - easy to see why! But we were seated quickly and the food and beers arrived quickly and frequently. My wife is the pizza expert and rated the Quattro Formaggi one of the best (including those from Naples and Rome). This is a buzzy pizzeria with a young vibrant clientele and we thouroughly enjoyed ourselves.

After a mammoth day biking the Golden Gate Bridge and all-around San Francisco, we fancied some tasty carbs. Il Casaro (in the Castro) was close to our hotel and had good reviews so was ticking all of our boxes. This restaurant is fitted out well, very open plan and with a nice canteen type vibe, not at all stuffy or pretentious. The service was attentive, and our server was able to recommend local beers as alternatives to better known branded lagers. We ordered two pizzas, I opted for the Patata pizza, which had slices of potato on it, as it sounded different to anything I had tried before. My partner had the Broccoli and Salsiccia, again because it sounded unusual. Both were delicious, although neither came with a tomato sauce base, which was not a negative because both were delicious, but it just threw us a little bit. The pizzas were also large, despite our post biking hunger we couldn’t finish them so took a couple of slices back to our hotel and had them the next day. The menu prices, for San Francisco was reasonable. All in all a very good choice and I would highly recommend.

We came for an early dinner and sat at the 'bar' area where you can watch the staff freshly make pizza. It was very fun and cool to see! We ordered pizza and the lasagna--both were amazing and very large portions, between two people we couldn't finish either!

Just one word. ITALY. The pizzas were really delicious, very good and soft dough. To return. Only the mushrooms were a little sinful.

We were referred there by a local. He recommended the lasagna. We ordered the Il Casaro pizza and the lasagna. Wasnt too impressed by the pizza but the lasagna was amazing! Melt in your mouth. The Mozerella Burata was incredible as well. We are going back before we leave.

It is located in a nice traditional Italian part of the city of San Francisco. The quality of their pizzas has nothing to envy some of the best places in Italy.

I love II Casaro Pizzeria & Mozzarella. I brought some out of town relatives there on two days ago and am going there tonight as well with my buddy. Thursday's visit was super, with Juliet the perfect host and server. She was helpful and friendly, finding a table for seven for us. We had the margherita pizza, burrata and salad. Everything was so delicious. Looking forward to coming back tonight. I was also mention that I live 50 miles away. Well worth the drive.

I only do one sentence reviews // this was one of, if not THE best pizza I have eaten outside of Italy - visit now

I went with a ladies group while our husbands were at a work conference. This is a wood fired pizza place. I loved watching the workers throw the dough high in the air to stretch it. Pizza was yummy and very fresh. I want to go back!

We dropped in into Il Casaro for a quick lunch. We were impressed with the food and the service. Both were excellent! The table had pizza, lasagna and the imported burrata. All were well prepared and quickly consumed! Great North Beach choice, will go back again.

Great pizza. Fair prices, and great service. I will definitely come back when I have to go to SF. Local in the area with many local. He deserves

Did a little research and discovered there is a little italy area in San Francisco. After burning off calories exploring the area we decided to look for an Italian place to eat. We turned to trusty Yelp. We got here about 6:15pm on a Friday. As with most places in the city that we have seen it is not very large in size but they use the space well. There are probably seats for 40 to 50 people including the counter area around where they prepare the food. We reviewed the menu and placed our orders. We ordered the Polpette Al Sugo (ground beef meatballs with napoletan tomato sauce) appetizer, a Diavola pizza (tomato sauce, mozzarella, Italian salami and calabrian peppers on the side) and a calzone (tomato sauce, mozzarella, ham, mushroom, arugula, raspa dura cheese). The Polpette Al Sugo was an amazing start, very tasty. The main courses were also fabulous. The pizza had just a little bite. Within 45 minutes of our arrival, there was a line outside. Overall a great experience. The only negative I can think of is that it was a little noisy inside.

been googling where to get good arancini in North beach. so decided to give this place a try. yes it was a Saturday but it was like sardines in a can. then no arancini on the menu. felt let down. but hey we were already sat. i had the Norma. it was nice. but burnt and soggy centre at the same time.

I liked! I ate a calzone. Good price and good food. My friend ate a pizza, he loved. Good wine too. In the middle of little Italy .

I took my teenage daughter and a couple of her friends her for a late lunch/early dinner. Nice decor and superb pizza. We'll be back!

Cute place that serves authentic very good pizza napoletana (the real thing). Friendly and attentive staff.

Very reasonable in price, excellent service, and friendly owner on top of fabulous Italian food-don't miss this gem! While they don't take reservations, you can call ahead and get on the list when you are on the way, important on a busy Friday night! We had pizzas for dinner and the cauliflower appetizer, as well as the burrata cheese one, with olives, and a bottle of wine, with tiramisu for dessert. This is a popular local place that I would definitely return to!

I just left the restaurant with a rather mixed review. I took a lasagna, and frankly, it was between “fair” and “not good.” The dish was too heavy, the dough was badly cut, and there was an excess of cheese that made the whole thing sickening. However, the products used appeared to be of good quality and taste. The service was fast. In short, a correct experience without more, but not really convincing.

I can’t say I’ve found a better pizza yet anywhere in the world. Not your usual cheese covered plate of oil that is most American pizzas, this was light, crispy and full of flavor. Wood fired just like Italy with top quality cured meats. Also try the burrata plate. Worth it!

We went there because my husband was craving pizza. Granted, the pizza was good. However, nearly everything had meat, and fatty meat at that. We don't eat pork, so that rules out sausage and pepperoni, but this place even had salami and mortadella (which was gross). We didn't try any of the pasta, but it looked good. Make a reservation or you'll never get in. And don't expect speedy service.

Il Casaro offers the perfect, simple, fresh, tasty meal - fresh burrata as a starter and perfect, crispy, thin-crust pizza. Add some wine, and you have a wonderful, moderate-priced meal that's delicious.

We went there to have lunch with some friends. We ordered Lasagna Bolognese and Lasagna bianca. They were very tasty. I really recommend both of them, besides the very unfriendly service.

Enourmous pizzas, unbeliavable service, best taste, only very noisy, best pizza and lazagnia in town their drink list was professional too.

We had tickets for one of the final performances of Beach Blanket Babylon, so arrived early to pick them up. We decided to pass the time with a glass of wine so entered Il Casaro to find it very busy. Two seats were available at the bar so we settled in. We ordered "deep fried" brussel sprouts and wine.. I was surprised how good these tasted. Mallory was very friendly and there was absolutely no pressure for us to give up our seats for waiting customers. Great spot to pass some time while waiting for the show.

The pizza is authentic and really tasty. We stumbled upon this little gem walking through the north beach area and had to try it, and we would definitely recommend. Quick warning, the olive oil on the tables is infused with spicy peppers and has quite a kick to it.

The food was really good, as was the house red wine, though the service was sometimes lacking. (And I resent what too many restaurants call a "SF Mandate Fee" --- these restaurants are required to provide healthcare for their workers or pay a fee, just as there are other requirements for businesses, including rent, insurance, electricity, wages, etc., but they are not required to charge that fee to customers, as they seem to imply.)

I am a Pizza Aficionado and travel the World for pizza with my family! We came out to San Francisco, CA in 2021 and this place was a must for us. The pizza did not disappoint. We ordered a Margherita pie. It delivered the freshest ingredients with cheese and tomatoes from Italy. It had a chewy crust and was delicious from beginning to end. Pizza was a bit floppy towards the point but the taste was great!

If you want to eat the real Italian pizza this is the place. The best Italian pizza you can eat! Super delicious! We were looking for a pizzeria in the SF "Little Italy" and we find it by chance. What a luck! The perfect margherita! Great dinner.

There are many places to eat in North Beach. A few of our favorite places was closed so we had heard about Il Casaro and decided to stop in for lunch. We decided to eat in the outdoor parklet which was very nice. There seemed to be some confusion around the service because we had two waiters none of which were available during our meal and it was difficult to figure out who would help us. We were able to order the wine and the salad which were both good. The salad had romaine, pine nuts, cheese ($13) We then flagged down a waiter and ordered the Calabrian Chile, sausage, tomato and basil ($18.50) The pizza was a bit soggy and the cheese was cold, we have had better elsewhere. I would hesitate to return here when there are so many other choices in the area.

We visit the area and loved the food. We ordered a “Diavola pizza”. It is supposed to be just for one person but it is good enough for two. The service could be better. I recommend this restaurant if you are not in a hurry. Service can take a while.

Went on Friday night. The place had a little crowd, but the waitress sat me at the counter.I watched the guy make pizzas,he was fast and efficient. The dough and all the ingredients were all fresh. I ordered a Margareta pizza, a salad and a beer. The service was fast. The staff was friendly, the pizza was steaming hot,and the food was delicious. The atmosphere was lively. Their prices were also reasonable. l definitely go back again when visiting San Francisco.

If you are in love with the good italian pizza, you must come to Casaro. Small local in little Italy, they do not accept bookings, so book it at the entrance and wait your turn. The pizza is really good as in Italy, the type of pizza is Neapolitan with the tall and soft crusts The waiters are friendly and professional. Stop to do absolutely in SF Alessandro

Everything about this place was fantastic. Wood fired pizza. The best ever. We had two. Nice choice is beer and wine.

Great pizza, no two ways around it. Savory toppings, salty cheese and a great crust combine for a mouthwatering palate pleaser. After you give the menu a glance, be sure to check out the special pizzas written on the wall, there are some very interesting and delicious options hiding up there. They also sport a nice selection of Italian beer and wine to help wash down their pizza pies. The space itself is not the largest, so it's entirely possible you'll have to wait for a couple minutes to get a seat (depending what date/time you come in of course). Il Casaro Pizzeria & Mozzarella Bar is a must visit, local or tourist alike.

Best customer service , Roberto was so helpful and the appetizer mozzarellas is delicious. The two different pizzas we ordered we delicious and cooked in the wood fire pizza oven.

I visited this place last November and I had an amazing experience. I ordered the prosciutto pizza for main, quite honestly the best pizza I have ever tasted. The staff were incredibly hard working and friendly. A great dining place in San Francisco, highly recommended.

Went there with family and really enjoyed our dinner. The pizza are crispy, with fresh mozzarella cheese on it, baken in the wood oven and taste is really great. Also nice atmosphere and friendly service. Our kids loved the pizza with Nutella and banana for dessert.

Really lovely pizza. Nice salads. Drinks not overpriced. Good service and buzzing atmosphere. Highly recommended

Me and my husband had the privilege to taste Lucali’s Pizza in Brooklyn, NY. We ventured out trying to taste other Pizza’s that would come close or even beat the exquisite taste of Lucali’s Pizza. Had no Luck but One local Restaurant. This is my First visit to San Francisco and this Pizza comes As Close to Lucali’s Pizza as it can get! Me and my husband were blown away by the mouth watering burst of flavors this pizza has. We got the Plain Pizza with No topping only cheese and basil. Buffalonio I believe. We came around 10:30pm they were not busy and the service was fast and great. We highly Recommend this Place! We will be coming back for seconds! Enjoy!!!

Couldn’t get in to Tony’s, decided to give this place a try. Ambiance is a bit loud and chaotic but the food and the service were excellent!! You can beat the front door line by using their online wait list. Menu is certainly pizza centric but there are several great apps and pastas. Everything is pretty much cooked in the elaborate pizza oven- which is front and center in the place. We ordered the roasted cauliflower and meatballs for our apps. Both were amazing. For pizzas, we went for a Diavalo (spicy) and a Calabrese. The crust is thin and texture/taste are perfect. Toppings are not overdone. All in all, very tasty pies!! We would definitely recommend Casaro.

We went here based off of a recommendation from our tour guild earlier in the day and it was awesome! Our waitress was even from Naples! We are a family of 5 and ordered 2 pizzas and beet salad to share. It was perfect. The pizzas were some of the best we’ve had!

During our visit in San Francisco, we ate a pizza here and paid with Mastercard. Dinner was average so we decided not to give a tip, so we didn't fill in anything on the paper at the end. A few days later we saw that they gave theirselves a tip of $15?! We tried to dispute this but got an answer that if you don't fill in anything the seller can give theirselves a tip according to the current standards... #Upset #LessonLearned

My husband is Italian The staff were nice The food was amazing There are tons of Italian restaurants in this area but this was great .

The pizzas were good - although the menu choices are a bit quirky. But the staff had a real attitude, and it showed. Stuffed us at the bar when a table was available. Didn't give us time to look at the menu to order, etc. As good as the pizza was, I wouldn't put up with that attitude again, if that was normal.

Regarding my lasagna « bolognese » I can only rate 2/5 being nice, but I dreamed of lasagna « like at home »... Except my house is far away😂 So bitter sauce, no béchamel, no meat, no seasoning: maybe adapted to American taste! At least not mine.

very cute and quite authentic Italian, very casual but not overpriced, careful choice of fresh ingredients, great location in the heart of North Bech, if you miss Italian cuisine a great address

A friend & I went for dinner. We brought our own wine which was fine by them. The pizza was so good. We had the 4 cheese pizza but I had them add pepperoni (YUM). Great staff too :-)

We wanted a good pizza, not a fast food one, and we got it. The pizza was close those in Napels. And Buffalo mozzarela as starter: yummy! Highly recommended!

Outstanding food and service. I had the lasagna and my wife had the beet salad. Both were fabulous. Really delicious food.

By far one of my favorite go-to pizzerias. We go here about once a month and the pizza never ceases to amaze us. You watch them make every single dish right in front of you. Great job Il Casaro!

Nice place with friendly, albeit very busy staff. The antipasti were very good (real buffola) and the pizza's are prepared in a woodburning oven. During our visit, sunday evening, it was very busy, with a lot of people waiting for a table, which may have been the reason that the pizza's could have spend a little more time in the oven. Nevertheless, I would definately recommend this place during a stay in SF>

If you’re close to little Italy this is the place to stop and get the awesome pizza and pasta. The service is absolutely amazing. I lo this place. Thank you Francesco.

very good pizza..very thin and baked to perfection....okay service, but highly overpriced for what they are offering.

We had lunch at this restaurant and ordered pizzas, as according to reviews they were wood-fired and therefore good. In fact, the pizzas are good and well cooked in a wood oven, which gives them a special taste. The staff are very friendly and helpful

I started with wood grilled calamari. Two skewers of calamari with zucchini, cherry tomatoes, carrots, on a bed of arugula salad. Very nice. I asked my waitress what her favorite pizza was and she didn't hesitate a second before telling me, Prosciutto! Here's a pic. The crust was light with plenty of bubbles. Tasty prosciutto sliced with arugula and shaved cheeses.

We chose this restaurant due to its good reviews. We were not disappointed. The menu is simple, but in our experience of eating pizza in Italy too, less is more! The pizzas were very authentic and delicious. The service was very friendly and efficient. We sat outside, which was great for people and classic car watching too. Highly recommended.

Fantastic pizza and mozzarella in lively fun restaurant. Great service. We loved the food and service we went back twice in our short stay in San Fransisco.

Pizza is the star of the show at Il Casaro and their reputation for great pizza is well-deserved. A single pie makes a good meal for a guy; split one if you are eating light. We both enjoyed the one with broccoli raab and sausage, and topped off the meal with a superlight and delicious tiramisu. The only quibble between my wife and I is that she likes her thin-crust pizza crispy and she would have preferred more crackle, particularly in the crust at the center.

Low key neighborhood kind of pizza place. Chill but efficient service serving delicious fresh pizza. The asparagus and cauliflowers appertizers along with a bottle of chianti really hit the spot while we waited for our pies. A no rush atmosphere allowed us to enjoy our friends and their young daughter. We will definitely go back.

Really Italian food, the pizza is delicious! Italian product! Not very expensive. Cozy place in Columbia street. Waiters kind and professional.

。Prosciutto 。Coke Pizza is fresh and good. Service is Good. Clean and bright environment. If u want a fresh pizza, u can try.

For being in San Francisco, good pizza and average prices. I recommend going there. We had a Margherita and it was good

We enjoyed an excellent Neapolitan pizza for a fair price (considering that we are in San Francisco). Highly recommended

Glad we found this place. Reasonably priced. Excellent food. Pizzas were amazing! Staff were friendly. We sat at the bar and watched them making the pizza. Highly recommend

We felt like we had gone back to Italy in this restaurant, at least as far as the food goes. It's pretty small, with a fired pizza oven prominently taking up nearly half the restuarant. The kitchen is right there in the open if you like to watch them make the pizza. It's kind of loud and cramped with lively conversation and the open kitchen, but in a good way. TVs mounted on the wall show European soccer games. The pizza was straight out of Italy, not at all like your typical American pizza. We kept it simple with the Margherita pizza (just tomato sauce, mozzarella, and basil). The mozzarella appetizer was also very good. Opted for a gelato at a nearby place afterwards, just as we are wont to do in Italy.

For an authentic slice of Italy go no further than Il Casaro, one of the finest pizzerie in the San Francisco Bay Area. I keep going back when I crave real pizza.

We pick the pizza place for good reviews and I can tell you that it didn't appoint us. Very tasty pizza , good service but they need to buy dishwasher because 5 glasses for vine that they gave us were with stains and lipstick.......

If you’re searching for the pizza spot that gets everything right—this is it. This place doesn’t just serve pizza; it celebrates it. From the first bite, you know you’re tasting something special. The crust is perfection: crisp on the outside, airy and chewy on the inside, with that irresistible hint of char from a well-seasoned oven.

Probably one of the best pizza places in town, or at least I wasn't able to find a better one yet. Not from a lack of trying, mind you! Straight to the point - If you like tuna on your pizza, you MUST have the Tonno & Cipolla Pizza and add anchovies. The Prosciutto Pizza is excellent if tuna is not your thing. The best part and one that this place excels at - The dough. It's just right. Not too crusty like the New York style, but also not too puffy like say... Dominos. The service is quick, not really welcoming, but who cares. The pizza is worth it.
Amazing authentic pizza
This is one of the best authentic pizza places we have been to. We recommend the Prosciutto pizza. It was flavorful with a nicely cooked fluffy crust. There was a nice amount of char on the bottom of the slices as should be at a pizza place like this.
