Inka Chicken is a drive through or dine in with an extensive menue. We always get the Family Meal 2 - because you need lots of sides. Corn tortillas Cilantro Rice, Plantains, Black Beans, Fire Roasted Corn w Quinoa are all excellent. Get 2 of each sauce - there are so many fun flavors. I almost didn't try the mashed potatoes because of another review. I loved that they had butter and green onions - they were excellent. (I was offered the option to leave the butter and green onions off). I highly recommend driving through and enjoying a wonderful meal at home. I have not tried dine in.

This place is an unexpected gem in the Wells Branch area. First time customers are offered a tasting cup with black beans, rice, yuca fries and plantains. Yum! The yuca fries are so good, like fried mash potatoes. The chicken seasoning is tasty and different with a nice blend of spices. Great value too. We got the dinner #2 which is a whole chicken and four large sides, enough food for four people easy for less than $30.

This place was so unexpected. Great Latin/South American Food! It looks like a fast food place from the street, and inside does too, but when you get your food, it is anything but! Fried yucca, fried plantains, black beans and rice, and the corn were all rediculous--as in incredibly good. Que rico! The chicken was great too, and the sauces we tried spectacular--the hot stuff is the best but not for the uninitiated. This is my new place to get real authentic food for take-out weekly.

We had great expectations for this place. Unfortunately, they weren't quite able to meet them. My wife and I enjoy rotisserie chicken in Mexico and at our local HEB quite often. Inka Chicken was not any better than HEB but cost far more for less meat. We won't be eating here again!

This Place can not be seen from IH35 nor can you if you as much when you are driving west on Wellsbranch parkway but very visible driving east on that street. It claims it's a Peruvian restaurant, I dont think so. I saw no Peruvian decorations or Peruvian workers but it is a spacious dinning room The service kitchen was small and kinda unorganized. The chicken was all ready cooked, cut in portions and served out of a sealed container. I ordered the chicken breast and thigh with macaroni and plantains. It was expensive but when I ate it at home, everything was very good. The macaroni was creamy, the plantains were semisweet but tasty. And the chicken was very delicious, it was cooked well with a chard that added flavor. The flavors were of some kind of citrusy taste that was very addictive. I ate it all and will go back again to enjoy in the restaurant with a friend.

I loved their food and excellent service. Even during a very busy time. The staff made us feel welcomed. Great job!

We were so excited to try this place bc of the rave reviews. Knowing its not a fancy place, knowing its more like a fast food joint, we still went, a bunch of gals for GNO lol. Firstly, its not cheap for the amount of food we got. Yes its tasty and different and the staff is super nice-they gave us samples while we ordered and decided and taught us what they have and what they were. It wasn't a bad experience but we wanted more. I kept comparing them to El Loco Pollo which has the amazing sauce and pickled veggies to wrap the tortillas w/. I know this is totally different but it lacked something I couldn't put my finger on. We ordered 2 whole chickens from the family dinner plan but should have ordered more for our party of 6 but it got pretty expensive. considering its a fast food place. It was tasty esp the dark meat. The white was a tad dry. I loved the plaintains and fried yucca. I did like their sauce too. But I was not a great fan of the tortillas which was a tad dry or their rice which is ok (regular white rice) and the beans. Just not a bean fan and it didnt' have that wow factor. And their Inka soda drink was basically like Big Pine :/ All in all it was ok but a fun experience. Sad to say that we foodie women all said we wont' be going back. But my hubby wants to try now :)

I have never eaten the south american chicken before. Inca chicken gave perfect opportunity to try it, finally. I was afraid of 1/4 of chicken but it's a quite normal portion. Fried yucca and homemade sauces were great together with the chicken. Staff here were so polite, decribed me all of the things that I was able to eat. We discussed how the chicken has been prepared and why it's so good and tasty. Great value for money, great place.

My wife and I tried Inka Chicken for the first time and had to pick up my parents a few hrs later and have them try. We had the family combo with the whole chicken and 4 sides. The fried yucca is amazing, never had it before and wont eat another potato after having it lol. I havent eaten in Mexico in a while and although this is Peruvian style chicken it reminded me alot of home. Ive actually gone back for just the yucca from time to time since i live a min away. A must try if you want a different tasting chicken.

When I let the employee at the counter know it was my first visit, he summoned what I perceived to be the store manager or owner. She was a fun, spunky, pretty lady (who happens to look a lot like Shakira the singer), who delightedly explained to me how the chicken is prepared and how 'absolutely delicious' all the food is. She gave me a small cup of samples from various side dishes available in the steam table. (This restaurant setup is similar to a place such as Subway or Panda Express, with the refrigerated and heated pans in a clear glass case.) The samples she gave me were just as she said: absolutely delicious. I ordered a 1/4 chicken combo with 2 sides. Was not disappointed! Make sure you try the fried sweet plantains, the hot sauce (loaded with tasty cilantro), and the yucca fries. Everything is SOO good; even the black beans are something special. A little on the spendy side; the 1/4 chicken combo runs around $9-10 for moderately sized portions. For this reason, I recommend trying this restaurant 'one side dish at a time.' I still loved it!!

Simply put, a small local place that you can easily drive by and miss... but the chicken is worth a visit. A lot of options, and great South American dishes that won't disappoint. Yucca fries are the best in Austin, and only make for a great dish. You won't go to any of the other charcoal chicken rest food restaurants after eating here.

Chicken is very moist and full of flavor. Sides unique and tasty.Yucca fries and plantains a must try. Glad to discover this family owned creation.

The rotisserie chicken is exactly as I remember eating in Lima. It’s juicy and you can choose the spice level of the dipping sauce. The vegetable medley has great flavor as well. Don’t skip the plantains-they are fantastic! Just the right mixture of sweet and crunchy.

Delicious rotisserie herbed chicken and delicious yucca fries. The chicha morada drink is my favorite and goes well with the traditional meals. Wonderful customer service and an authentic atmosphere. Definitely a do not miss for Austin foodies!

As a first generation American with deep roots in Cusco Peru, I really liked this place when mostly chicken menu. And like it more now with their larger menu. I’m not from the local area but try to swing by here whenever driving by. Pic with menu attached here.

The good is so authentic and the sauces are all so delicious. This place may look like a chain but don’t be fooled, the quality is there. The sides are fantastic and the prices are cheap. Great meal for the money.

Service was good and the food was very good, except the mashed potatoes, they were covered in butter. Everything else was good.

I love roasted chicken and ethnic food. So yeah, I'm a fan. There aren't a lot of options and it's not bargain priced, but so what. I never had yucca fries and now I have. They're tasty. I had a lunch combo for $7 and the guys gave me samples of all the sides. They're friendly entrepreneurs. I hope they make it. I'll eat here again when I'm in the area.

This was my first visit to Inka. I ordered a 1/4 chicken with a side of fried plantains and a sweet tea. The chicken was moist, delicious, and had a very tasty flavor to it from the charbroiling. The plantains were sweet and delicious. The counter service was fast & friendly. The sweet tea had a great flavor but was a bit on the weak side. They have plenty of indoor seating and off street parking plus a drive thru. The prices are pretty reasonable. If you want a different take on smoked chicken, this is the place to go.

I went to get some chicken, if you live in Austin and have had pollo Reggio or Pollo Rico then you would think this Peruvian would be similar and tasty. I don't know if I went on an off day, the chicken was moist and falling of the bone. The taste? well I think I would rather buy an H-E-B rotisserie chicken , cheaper and it tastes way better. Do we really eat with our eyes? No, but when I looked at the chicken it looked all gray and not really delicious looking, when I tasted it was it delicious? no, The fried plantains and yucca fries were good, of course if they messed that up they should slap the cook. Anyhow, sides are good, the chicken is just mediocre , nothing special.

Went for the first time looking for a different flavor, and got a chicken with side black beans and some plantains, the chicken is very small portion, the flavor is really good, is like pepper-lemon-lime marinated, the black beans good, a little plain, the plantain really good, the service was very good, as soon i walked to the front, they offered a little taste of white rice with black beans with a little of yucca and plantain. The experience in general was good, one thing is the smoke inside the place is a little overwhelming and after leaving I was smelling like a I was the cook of the restaurant. Another thing I believe the price can be better for the type of restaurant and portions.

This place is underrated. I did the drive thru and the lady was so nice and helpful as I was torn between 2 dishes. I ended up with the inka quinoa bowl and the inka delight (dessert) and Ill probaby go back tomorrow for lunch and get the pure Peruvian sandwhich because I am so impressed. The bowl was delish and the inka delight-OMG! Both surpassed mt expectations for sure! Hidden gem!

The food is fantastic and tastes authentic. The service was amazing and it is fairly cheap for such a filling meal. I highly recommend trying it.

I recommend this place for a casual dinner or takeout. There are a few negative reviews for Inka, and it sounded like they were from people who really knew Peruvian cooking. Not being familiar with Peruvian cooking I thought the food was great and we enjoyed not only the chicken but also the sauce (mild) as well as all of our sides. We got plenty of food for our money. The owners are very friendly and helpful and offered us samples of the sides and fruit drinks as we were first time customers.

I went there first time I like it very much then second time I went with same hope chicken is going to be good as last time .nope chicken was not done fully. Then went back to try again I think that restaurant got hygiene issue ifu look kitchen very dirty .And look around lots places got dust look like never been clean from long time

Wonderful roasted chicken! Perfect prep and blend of flavor. A must try. Second time and great results again so that is why I am posting a review.

The chicken was delicious and the yuca too! Highly recommened, it also has a drive thru. Great to go with the whole family.

Inka Chicken claims to be a fast food version of Peruvian food. The chicken is fire-roasted and rubbed with spices and is served with an unusual choice of sides (yucca, plantain, etc.). The food is tasty and prices very reasonable. We ate at one during a recent trip to Austin, and we would be regular customers if there were one near our home. Highly recommend a visit.

Bring your appetite, because Inka Chicken tastes too good to leave hungry. We were staying at a nearby hotel for 10 weeks and we came back to this restaurant several times. Peruvian style smoked chicken...mmmm.

Food was perfectly seasoned and delicious. We tried different appetizers and they were all different with plantains and yucca, cilantro rice, black beans. Empanadas with beef was amazing and the cheese empanada with powdered sugar was a perfect combination.

if you don't know the three B rating - you'll understand it once you visit this place. We fell in love with charcoal rotisserie chicken while living in Latin America, and this is the best comparison we have found. You will love the sides and the friendly service also. Great food, great value, and cute atmosphere.

The family order is huge. A whole chicke with side dishes. Love the fry banana. Clean restaurant with nice friendly service. Will be back.

The smell really draws you into the restaurant but once inside it is very disappointing. The chicken had an odd flavor from the spice rub and the sides looked/tasted like they had been there for a week. The tables weren't cleaned and the lobby itself was dark and drab. They had charged the wrong price for the meal and it took approx. 15 minutes to get a refund of the difference because they couldn't find the manager. Won't be going back.

This is a family owned restaurant and the food is Great and the service terrific. Great flavored chicken, perfectly cooked. terrific tasty plantains and yuca fries. The owner as well as the other emplyees seem to make everyone feel like family. Just wonderful!

Had a chicken sandwich, there were bones in it! The pasta salad was so-so. Will not eat here again :(

So glad a friend suggested this restaurant, I would have never tried it. I am guessing Puruvian food is the same as Costa Rican because it was just like the food I ate on my honeymoon in Costa Rica. Loved the Chicken and Plantains and friendly service.

Restaurant has a fast food feel, but don't be confused. This is phenomenal food. The chicken is beautifully spiced/roasted and all of the sides are worth trying. A chicken burrito all the way with a side of plantains will knock your socks off. Additionally the chicken sandwich on ciabatta was exceptional. They offer this sandwich with a split chorizo sausage link instead of chicken. Also very good. Inka Chicken has drive through and take out/dine in options. Lots of parking and easily found as it is right next to a Sonic.

Inca Chicken has a fast-food atmosphere, but excellent food. The chicken is so flavorful and everyone in the family loves the sides. You get a lot for your money and we have never had an issue with the quality. Hands down our favorite chicken place in Austin.

Was so excited to visit and eat, the enviroment, music, sides are good but the chicken was cold and tasted like was from another day did'nt like was sunday maybe that's why?, the sause needs to improve theres so many ingridients to make a rich and delicious sauce come on peruvians let's ad more flavor please, service was fast and friendly, chicha morada flavor was poor too, increase the price but make it delicious like in our country, maybe try the sauces from peru like uchukuta or tari will be awesome!!!!
Great quick stop
Got off the highway for a quick meal and found this great little stop. Chicken was moist, Wicca fries were really good and plantains were excellent. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Wish it was closer to home. Would be my new favorite.
