The menu is very varied with a real international mix. The spiced fish was amazing as was the salmon dish. The restaurant is busy and has a very lively atmosphere but not so much as to detract from the enjoyment of the food. Quite simply, we cannot wait to go back.

Made a reservation 3 months ago before traveling to SFO for business. Was so pleasantly surprised and extremely happy when I sampled a number of things on the menu with my colleagues. Had to try the Smoked Pork Ribs among other things and they along with everything else did not disappoint. Please make your way there...

I went here with work colleagues after a long day and this place was a revelation. The ribs were the best I have ever had and that is a piece of meet that is easy to get wrong. The biscuits were also not to be missed. I was also pleasantly surprised to learn that it is co-owned by Ayesha Curry (Steph’s wife). I will definitely be back.

Made reservations 4 months out as a surprise for my girlfriends bday. Service was good, service didn't match the price point for me. still doesn't take away form the food! service wasn't bad to me, it just doesn't match the price point. its much more laid back that what aim used to if i am pay 300+ for a dinner bill for 2.

What a lovely dining experience. The restaurant has a great vibe. It has a louder hum than other restaurants, but not so ridiculous that you cannot enjoy conversation with your partner. The decor is current without having the "trendy" stamp that will date it in two years. The aromas in the restaurant make you start salivating the moment you walk in. The staff - from hostess, to busing staff, to the server - were quick, kind and professional. Our food was delicious. (*We did not order the Tuscan Rib Eye, as when we were in Tuscany we tried it and decided that it is not really a good choice for North American steak enthusiasts FYI). Our appys to our mains were prepared to perfection. The piece de resistance for me was the duck fat gravy on the whipped potatoes. The meal was so filling I could not finish my steak and I didn't even have an appy (my husband did). We are looking forward to visiting with friends next time so we can eat "family style" and sample more dishes.

Had dinner with friends at International Smoke and enjoyed the salmon, delicious! The cornbread and brussel sprouts were also very good. A nice visit if you can swing it!

Top of the game, Foodies! I just walked into the new but old RN 74 now International Smoke in San Francisco and I sat at the bar so far so good, “An Expert In The Mist”, Lol, no one has approached or ask me if i needed a menu I sat in the corner so we will see, lol, anyway I recognized one of the bartenders from RN 74 so I waited only a few minutes, lol, so we’re good, “Gold Star”, I order my favorites Brussels sprouts with a tangy sweet flava, the Steph Curry, glazed cornbread, garlic rice is delicious full of flava and the chicken nuggets but they’re using another name for them, lol, it’s cool! An to top it all off a nice glass of Merlot to wash it all down, “Boom”, now that’s a meal....!!!!!!! The service and people are great! Good place to dine with family, friends, couples and even solo! My follow Foodies, I have found My new favorite restaurant, lol, “BLUE and Gold by The Bay! Four thumbs up and a “I Left My Heart in San Francisco”, lol, Peace, Love food! “Bonappetit”! “One Love, One World, One Lifetime”!!!!!

If you're looking for a place w/great ambience & staff check out Smoke Intl. We visited the bar during the Happy Hour (4p-6P). Sampled Ribs, Duck Fat Fries & Lettuce Wraps. Ribs were meaty & very tasty. Check out some of the innovative & refreshing cocktails of Lead Bartender Jorge D. Shout out to Carina at the bar for her friendly & awesome service! Reservations Highly Recommended!

If you’re looking for good ol’ down home bbq, you probably won’t find it at International Smoke. What you will find is a hip, good barbeque and more than barbeque restaurant with a great mood. Be aware that International Smoke is not inexpensive. There is not an easy to park spot close to the restaurant and no valet parking so be prepared to walk a couple of blocks.

Was in the area on a Saturday night and got seats at the bar since we didn’t make any reservation. We asked the hostess if there are any tables available for walk ins and there was a long wait. Anyway, we ordered half a rack of the ribs, magic mushrooms and the cornbread. The ribs and the mushrooms were ok. The corn bread didn’t wow me at all. I’ve had better cornbread. This is not the place for good barbecue. Their drinks are good. This used to be RN74- I wish it was still RN74.

There were 3 of us and we all shared a little bit from each other. We cleaned our plates, everything was good. There wasn't just anything that was so good I would come back for. We came and We saw basically. Here are the following service issues we experienced. Honestly I feel like it was just the server we had. 1. All tables got bbq chips ( ours came once we noticed other tables getting it and we asked. This was already after our entrees came. 2. Speaking of entrees the waitress came back to ask what temperature we wanted the braised short rib. ( It's braised ) we honestly think she forgot our order 3. Also on regards to the braided short ribs it should be served with a steak knife 4. Only 2 of our 3 drinks came. ( Server forgot) 5. The entree came before the appetizer ( because the server forgot our appetizer ) 6. The " for the table" items came after the entree but only after we asked for it. 7. We got an item to go and we're given a tag to claim the to go item. The waitress then minutes later brought the check with the to go item. ( About 15 min later the waitress comes back and says ohh, looks like someone brought you the check already. Umm no. You brought the check with the to go items. Then she comes back with our receipt to sign and notices the claim check and was like let me grab your to go item. No sweetie. We already have it cause you brought it. Just odd. Honestly looking around I think it was just our server. Another table that had our server had issues as well.

Four months of anticipation fell flat. Ribs were mundane (think TGIFridays or chain ribs) and my wife’s salmon was burned to a crisp. The heralded mac ‘n cheese was overwhelmed by bbq pork riddled with too much sauce. The drinks were inventive and tasty, and the service is sharp. I hope the executive chef reads these reviews. A culinary pivot is needed.

The worst restaurants I've seen. I would call this amateur hour - from bringing the wrong wine, to retrieving the wrong coat, the staff was clueless. Furthermore, the food was terrible - grilled oysters appetizer and Branzino main course. How could you screw this up?? This restaurant is hoping to survive off of their celebrity owners. We can only hope the lease is almost up.

Had some difficulty finding the restaurant because of the construction that was going on around it. However, once inside my family and I were treated to wonderful cuisine. Many guests were trying the Jamaican tasting menu but we chose to select from the main menu. We were not disappointed. The pork belly bao buns were great, as were the ribs, duck wings and the filet. International Smoke lived up to expectations.

We were a party of 6. 5 of us arrived and wanted to be seated, order a drink and have appetizers. But oh, no, the hostess wouldn't seat us until all had arrived. It was an 8:45 pm reservation so its not like we were going to sit there and take up another seating. . Plus a bit too much attitude. Then once at table, it was not clear who was our service staff member. Various came to table erratically and the dishes came out at an usual pace. More work is needed on getting the service right. Didn't really help us figure out how much to order for a party of 6. That being said, the food, from the lamb to the steak to the smoked burrata were all OUTSTANDING!

We had a wonderful experience at International Smoke. Our meal started with the cornbread - it was very tasty. We moved onto the Rip tip Mac & Cheese, there was a large portion, we split it up between us and had more than enough. The main course was the 1/2 rack of ribs and they were done to perfection. We were all full but we tried the Strawberry Cheesecake and it capped our evening. I would highly recommend a stop. The wait staff was very attentive and always making sure we had everything we needed.

Another great evening at International Smoke After what’s probably been my seventh time dining at International Smoke, I feel a review is long overdue. Long-story-short, the amazing customer service and well-rounded menu keeps me and my husband coming back for impromptu and scheduled date nights. With regards to the staff, from the moment of arrival through grabbing to-go bags, guests can expect to interact with a friendly, professional (but not stuffy) staff that operates like a well-oiled machine. From order taking and drink delivery through meal ‘check-ins’ and dirty plate removal, I’ve never found myself distracted by lack of (or overbearing) service. While I’ve been impressed by many International Smoke employees, I’d be remiss not mention two people who consistently go out of their way to make us feel right at home: Amy (server)—your smile is infectious and your ability to anticipate our needs is impressive, and Suzanne (General Manager)—your willingness to ‘connect’ with your guests is authentic, heartfelt, and very much appreciated. In terms of food and drinks—please—this is a comfort food lover’s paradise. Seriously. Some of my personal favorites include: Issa Gin & Tonic, Gulf Shrimp, Tokyo-style chicken karaage, double duck wings, RIBS (American BBQ), Vietnamese BBQ pork chop, smoked rib tip mac & cheese, whipped potatoes (w/ duck fat gravy), and last but not least, the green papaya slaw (so good, we usually get an order to go). My to-try list includes Punjabi-spiced fish fry, soy-braised short ribs, the Hawaiian kanpachi, and the carne asada baked potato (looks delish—and big). So, if you’re on the fence about whether or not to try International Smoke, do yourself a favor, book a reservation!

I came here at the recommendation of a friend and did not really know what to expect. It was a very long day at work and I was doubtful of the experience but do always keep an open mind. Traffic was abysmal getting to the restaurant and we were well over a half hour late for our reservation... not a propitious start. I did call to let them know about the timing and they were very understanding on the phone. We arrived and parked in a garage a few blocks away. We walked over to the restaurant and entered into a vibrant scene. It was a very lively (and loud) crowd. The restaurant is a contemporary space with dark tones and low "mood" lighting. Very attractive and in following with the current SF trends. On the left was the dining room and on the right is the double-sided bar with additional seating. Having arrived so late, they gave away our table in the dining room. I would completely have expected this as the place was packed - no problem. They greeted us warmly and made other arrangements for us. We were taken to an atrium space behind the bar that separated it from the main restaurant. It was a large double height open bright space with very well spaced seating at banquets and tables, the back bar which simply was a continuation of the front bar and 2 large flat screens plying the game. I am going to be honest here. I normally do not like being seated in secondary areas. I could not have been happier here. The main room, although attractive, was significantly louder and the seating felt very tight. It was so much more relaxed here and the volume was much more tolerable. We could actually have a conversation. The staff came over in sequence asking about drinks, questions and the normal beginnings. They were very young. They were very friendly. They were very knowledgeable about the menu. They could not have been more interested in our having a great evening. They truly made us feel like they cared. What a great start. We had questions about the menu and the tasting menu; both of which looked wonderful. The tasting menu is an all or nothing. Everyone at the table must participate. My dinner partner does not eat red meat and I have a food allergy, so we just planned on ordering from the regular menu. We did express our disappointment to the waiter because it truly looked wonderful. Without missing a beat, he gave us other options from the regular menu to accommodate our issues. I did not expect this. We were very happy and looked forward as to what to expect. ...and then the food started. Their normal starting treat is house-made chips. This had one of my spice issues so they substituted the duck-fat fries. There is nothing like fries cooked in duck fat. Crisp, tender inside, full of flavor with rosemary and garlic and completely addictive. Next came a Dungeness Crab Soup with corn bread. The soup had an Asian flair and was delicious. The warm, tender cornbread was a perfect accompaniment. Then came a salad of buratta, heirloom tomatoes and prosciutto served under glass and covered in smoke - a very theatrical and cool touch. The fresh, creamy buratta cheese always works perfectly with heirlooms. The salty/sweet prosciutto complimented everything flawlessly. It was the correct summer salad to serve. The next item was a sampler of the ribs served with green papaya slaw. Perfectly tender St. Louis-style and Asian ribs (I could not have the chimichurri of the Argentinian style ribs). They were meaty and fell off the bone, perfectly seasoned and did not really need additional sauce. The papaya slaw was a well thought out foil for the richness of the ribs, but it could have used a little more acid. My dinner partner was given a moist grilled lobster tail with creamed corn and a few greens - he was definitely upgraded. Both were simply delicious. Now, this is the point were if I had stopped, I would have been completely satisfied... But we still had 2 more courses. The main was gorgeous grilled Wagyu with crispy potatoes and an Italian salsa verde. Moist, full of flavor with the salsa verde providing the palette cleanser to prepare you for the next succulent bite. My partner chose the salmon which was served with creamed corn and shishito peppers. It was another "Wow" moment. Finally, it was time for dessert. On the menu was a Key Lime parfait and Summer Berry shaved ice. Well, it seems that the chef believes that excess is not enough. I was overwhelmed in an excessively good way. I started with the shaved ice which cleared my palate perfectly and prepared me for the real dessert - Key Lime Parfait. Now, this is not the delicate "parfait" my mother used to get. It is definitely a dessert for 2 or more. A large goblet contains the creamiest key lime custard topped with whipped cream and cinnamon toast crunch. These are crunchy crumbles representing the crust of the best key lime pie you have ever had - and I've had some great ones. Holy, moley! I was completely full and could not stop eating this... and I am not generally a dessert eater. But if there was another one, I would have had that one too. It was that good. Throughout the meal, the staff routinely stopped by to check in and make sure everything was all right. It was not all right. It was wonderful. Ayesha Curry has created an amazing spot with her own take on what barbecue and smoke is all about. The portions are very generous (not something that is often heard of in San Francisco) and the prices are reasonable. It is a great value. Also, she has created a culture with her staff that is welcoming, friendly and hospitable. Not an easy feat, but it make one feel good. A completely casual and easy-going evening. Perfect after a long day at work. As badly as the evening started in trying to get there, everything turned around as soon as we got there. I will be back. This is a place to try. Next time I'll remember to bring along a defibrillator. One final observation. This is definitely a techy-centric restaurant with a median age range of 25 - 30. It makes for great people watching. For someone who is no longer in that age group it can be a little noisy. But don't be put off. Also, the atrium side is a much calmer place to enjoy your meal. The flat screens can be distracting so I would not recommend it for a romantic evening with a sports fiend. Overall, it is well worth a go.

I heard quite a bit about the restaurant and made a special trip to try the cuisine. Over the top barbecue. Too much barbecue for my taste. My server Mitchell was outstanding and made every effort to see that I was enjoying my experience. The barbecue oysters were a hit but the grilled sweet potatoes and coleslaw was a miss. I tried Alaskan crab legs but the bed of salt rocks in the presentation was over powering for my palate. Happy hour prices are great!

International Smoke is a restaurant you do not want to pass up when visiting San Francisco! Owned by Ayesha Curry, the wife of Golden State Warrior player, Stephen Curry, the dishes were mouth- watering! My husband and daughter and I went and had several excellent dishes but what stole the show were the Smoked Pork Ribs Combo and Carne Asada baked potato. Pricey menu but great food....make your reservations well in advance!!! NUMMMMM!

Great experience...Joe was our server.. had the fixed menu option! Most excellent!!! Hi regards.. and to top evening off former Speaker and Mayor Willie Brown walked in the door as I was walking out!

Everything was so delicious—from the complimentary barbeque chips, the smoked burrata salad, the dungeness crab and red curry soup with the cornbread, the wagyu shaking beef, smoked rib tip mac and cheese, to the chicken karaage. The most unfortunate part—we were too full to move on to any main course! But we still had to end on a sweet note with the Palette of Pudding—the creme brulee was excellent! Really liked the butterscoth, too. Happy to note that unlike other celebrity chef restaurant meals i’ve had, this wasn’t mere hype.

Atmosphere is very modern, service was excellent and certain dishes hit the mark. We sampled the following dishes during SF Restaurant week as a group of four as follows: - Tom Kha Soup - Delicious and comparable to Thai restaurant - Corn bread (yummy except order the sauce on the side because it comes drizzled with it) - Avocado & Quinoa Salad (Order this if you are a vegetarian - very tasty!) - Pork Ribs (Good ribs - not too saucy and cooked just right but not to die for) - Black Cod (Tender and cooked just right) - Sinaloa chicken (pass on this one. Maybe it was the Anchiote.. but we left both orders half finished - BBQ Sweet potatoes (not memorable - came as a side - would not order it as an entree) I was expecting mind blowing food given all the hype so I was a bit disappointed. Worth a visit.

Really good food, smallish portions. Portions are more tapas style. It makes sense that it doesn't have typical American portions because it's supposedly a "healthy" restaurant. I had garlic fried rice, king crab legs, and "korean style" ribs. The ribs weren't really korean style. It had sesame and some mild sauce on it. They were ok. However, the garlic fried rice and the king crab tasted more unique and were excellent. The atmosphere was casual even though the prices aren't really. I didn't need reservations for lunch, can't speak for dinner. Great location near BART and the Salesforce bus terminal. I had a good time, the food was pretty good, and the service was very good. I was probably expecting overwhelmingly, blow-me-away food from Michael Mina, but it was "only" excellent. I would definitely go again to try out their take on other food.

Great ambience for both casual and formal meetings. We ordered light meals: falafels with veggie and hummus, Tom Kah soup, and quinoa salad. All are tasty and of good quality. The portions are towards smaller size under american standards :) Service is attentive and friendly. We really enjoyed the experience there.

plan early as reservations are tough to come by. we popped in during happy hour + got seated at the bar. the tasting menu may seem pricey but you get a good amount of amazing foods. well worth it. i highly recommend ordering that.

First time at this restaurant as we heard Ayesha Curry opened it. The Ayesha's Corn Bread was delicious especially the curry butter sauce which I thought was amazing. For the entree I had the Korean Short Ribs, presentation was unique as meat was placed on top of the bone so it was easy to eat and the smoke and other flavors made it very tasty!!! Service was a bit slow as we asked for sweetener for the ice tea and it must have taken 10 minutes before it showed up. There must not be refills on ice tea as they took the glass away when it was emptied. Atmosphere was a bit loud - music was turned up which made it hard to hear so everyone had to talk loud which further added to the volume.

International Smoke is fancy barbeque place in heart of SFO downtown. Fancy interiors and good seating options. Menu is not vast but covers a lot of items so that no one is left out. I had the vegetarian dish of the day - off menu item which was more or less all the vegetarian option combined nicely. So will highly recommend asking the off menu item. The garlic mushrooms were out of the world. Even if they were little oily, highly recommended as they are very well made. The rib eyes were reportedly out of the world. Great place for special occasions.

The ribs are truly the best I have ever eaten. Ordered the pastor and also found the tangy, sweet sauce to be excellent. The cornbread is average. I enjoyed the wedge salad even though it is commonly served at such places. The mac and cheese was good but the rib ribs were few and similar more to bacon bits. The beer selection was good. I want to return for the steak. Again, the ribs are the star.

I don’t even know where to start… my husband and I are on our honeymoon in SF and booked International Smoke on the recommendation of a YouTube vlog. I added a note that it was our honeymoon but didn’t think much of it. We were made to feel sooo special - every member of staff that served us was aware we had just gotten married and congratulated us. They have us a card and complimentary champagne and gave us recommendations on how to spend our time here. The food was gorgeous and so were the cocktails, we were so full and impressed. To top it off they also gave us a complimentary desert to share. 10/10 experience.

International Smoke comes from the duo of celebrity chef Michael Mina, he of the eponymous restaurants and celebrity cook Ayesha Curry, she of wife of Golden State Warrior Steph Curry fame. When they decided to remodel the still young but growing reputation RN74 restaurant which epitomized elegance and class into an upscale but scaled down but trying to remain upscale restaurant, I had my doubts, mainly because of the location that International Smoke resides in, in the heart of San Francisco's financial district and the fact that they chose traditional southern barbeque with a twist as their main dining menu feature. But color me surprised, after almost a year in business, International Smoke is not only surviving but thriving right in the heart of downtown San Francisco. A friend and I had wanted to eat here ever since they opened and we thought we had to get there early if we were going to take advantage of their Happy Hour, which runs weeknights from 4 to 6pm in their bar area. Speaking of which, upon entry into International Smoke you will notice the basic full remodel that their team did to the old RN74, gone are the stately booths and now resides cement columns filled with graffiti. The bar for the most stayed the same, as it continues to open into the lobby of the Millennium Tower where on the bottom floor the restaurant resides. When we arrived at International Smoke, we weren't sure of where to head first the bar or the hostess station as there was no signage anywhere. I made the decision to tell the hostess that we were here for Happy Hour but we weren't sure where we could enjoy it since the bar was packed patrons standing and mixing, but all of the high-top tables had reserve signs on them. Our hostess told us we were allowed to take one of the "reserved" high-top tables and enjoy the Happy Hour menu as long as our stay is only for an hour upon check-in. So we decided that was the best option for us and we took a table on the outer area of the packed bar area. When you look at the menu, you will notice that each dish is from a different country in the world. Japan, Thailand, France, and the USA were all represented (perhaps in a nod to co-owner Ayesha Curry's ancestral roots). What you will also notice by looking at the menu, is that the Ribs & Rocks selection from the menu, is the only items offered at Happy Hour prices. My dining mate heard the best rib and oyster combination was the American BBQ Ribs with the Sweet & Smokey Barbecue Oysters, we got the 1/4 rack and 3 Oysters for 18 dollars. to accompany our Happy Hour dish, we also ordered the Green Papaya Slaw, with Lime, Fish Sauce and Fired Shallot, the Rib Tip Mac & Cheese with Cornbread Crumble and the Curry Cornbread made with Red Thai Curry and Coconut Milk. The ribs were in the fact the best of the dishes we tried as the oysters which were dollar size and rather small and unremarkable. In what could be sacrilege I wish we could mix and match our oyster and rib selection as the the Al Pastor and Gochujang-Spiced Oysters sounds much better on the menu. Another highlight was the Rib Tip Mac & Cheese which was hearty with meat and plenty of cheese. The Curry Cornbread was moist and served as a nice amuse bouche, but the green papaya slaw should have came with a warning as it was too hot for the tastebuds, so we had to down our meal with plenty of water. To also wash down our meal, the sips on the back of menu, like the ribs and oyster combination, were also served at Happy Hour prices. My friend went with the Red Wine, which was a Merlot this evening, but I tickled my fancy with the House Punch made with Havana Club Rum, pineapple juice, raspberry syrup, and a splash of club soda, this drink but the punch in the party. I would order more of that drink if I could as it was really the only mixed cocktail on their Happy Hour menu. As it turns out our service was so awkward and slow that they didn't even honor that hour long time limit, so we were able to enjoy our food and the ambiance for almost two hours sitting in their bar. Most of the patrons were just standing in the bar area, not intending to get any food, so we were left alone. We decided to pass on dessert, even though they looked really good on their menu, something to look forward to next time I suppose. I really like the aesthetic of the menu at International Smoke, of which I saw, it was really eclectic hitting many options from around the world. All the more reason to return in the future and try the many more different options on their menu in my many more visits to come.

Visiting San Fran from the UK a friend recommended this place so I set out for my chow down at Int'l smoke, it was a bit hard to find even though in plain sight. Got through the door stood there waiting to be seated. A little awkward even though one of the hostesses was standing by, at this point I was doing a count down to walk out the door and spend my hard earned money elsewhere, I have no idea who the owners are nor do I care. Midway of my countdown another lady came over and showed me to my table. The rest of my interaction with the staff was very pleasant, for every course someone came and explained exactly what ingredients were included which was a nice touch. I had the lunchtime set menu and every course was absolutely delicious. If I am in the area I would definitely dine there but the countdown would be much shorter:)

This place is always busy. Lots of local business people come here after work to eat and drink. It's not because of the food. It has a very good environment that is friendly for socializing, hanging out, etc. The food is $$$ version of "bar food" that is just average. If you come here, it's not for the food.

Honestly, I wish I could give split ratings I would give it 5 Stars if I loved celebrity-owned restaurants, loud places with people having one sweet cocktail after another, blaring music, and TV screens with ESPN. I gave it 2 Stars because they don't honor reservations and are perfectly fine making hungry people wait for over thirty minutes. The food tries to be innovative but falls short. Everything comes with a spicy sauce whatever the food needs it or not. The worst dish was $44 steak. It was gristly, fatty, and overcooked. It had no flavor besides burnt aftertaste. Cocktails were generous and strong but lacked complexity. If you come to San Francisco to experience the best food Bay Area has to offer; this is not the place to go.

Had the chance to dine at one of the newest and "hippest" places in SF last night, International Smoke! We arrived early, and were seated promptly. Always a good sign. However, the service declined from there, with delays in getting water, getting our order in, getting our drinks. At one point, a drink we didn't order was delivered, most likely because our first one was lost... (as a side note, everyone was lovely, attentive and gave great service, it just took longer than it should have) This didn't detract from the awesome atmosphere, though, or more importantly, the amazing food. Everything we ate was good, and watching other items headed to other tables made us wish we had more room for more tastes. I look forward to returning in a month or so, when the service kinks are all worked out. (as a side note, everyone was lovely, attentive and gave great service, it just took longer than it should have)

We had the prix fixe menu (which was not expensive), but very underwhelming. The presentation was good and they have been adventurous.

We visited this restaurant because it’s Ayesha Curry’s restaurant. We were excited to try it out for our anniversary dinner. The ambiance is nice. Very loud and wait staff very attentive. The the melon salad with crab and it was pretty good. The curry sauce cornbread was delicious. The ribs with sesame gochujang was too salty, so we sent it back and got the american Bbq which was still too salty but a tad better. The RN74 prime burger was dense and was just okay. The Mac and cheese was just okay. All the food came out lukewarm and honestly not very impressive. While we did enjoy ourselves, we weren’t blown away from the culinary experience. Expectations were a bit let down.

Opening night was 11.11.2017 7 days later, The wife and I decided to try out Ayesha Curry's Restaurant (Stephen Curry's Wife) We were greeted with smiles, great customer service, a chivalrous door opening, quick restaurant check-in, and expedient seating of our choice. Reservations are roughly 3 months out but if you're persistent in booking, you may luck up on a free spot from another patrons cancellation and/or bar seating. Atmosphere: Good choice of seating arrangements Traditional and half-moon booths, couple seating, and bar-top with Flatscreen TV's for sport entertainment. The Restaurant was filled with soft lighting, earthly toned interior wall decor, and some graffiti art. They also have a room dedicated for catering and private events. Musical ambiance was a mixture of top 40's and old school R&B. #IssaVibe Staff: Our Server was named Salima. She was very informative, friendly, professional, and attentive. Overall staff displayed uniformity in a bold traditional inspired smock. Pros: Bathroom Doors stated Human- Very inviting for all genders Location - Centrally located in San Francisco in the ever-so popular mission district on mission street Food was amazing. My recommendations are the Curry cornbread- buttery soft light jalapeño center topped with a semi-sweet crispy crunch. Sweet Potato Yams- soft and warm sweet glaze topping finished with pecans. Lastly, The Large Platter (Charcoal Grilled Shellfish) - Maine Lobster Tail, Succulent soft shelled Alaskan King crab, paired with deveined Gulf Shrimp, & Warm Seasoned Fried Oysters(perfecto, 6ea). Finished the night off with a Merlot & Trio dessert. The menu (cool/fun names) has a tremendous variety of great flavorful seasoned dishes and drink options to choose from. Most importantly, very affordable. Cons: The Bathrooms were extremely small Staff made a few minor mistakes, but quickly apologized and made corrections. Food & Drink service was a little slow, but to caveat, it's a new restaurant (opened for 1 week) with a new team that probably just needs to find their rhythm. Overall On a Scale from 1-10, International Smoke gets an 8.9 We will most definitely be repeat customers until we try everything on the menu. Our compliments to the Chef.... Mrs Curry

We had the annual end of Giants season dinner here the other night. It still has the basic look of the previous establishment, with a few changes in appearance and lots of changes in the menu. Our party tried the sea bass and the various types of ribs, and all were good. The appetizers were fun and tasty, with many coming out under large glass domes filled with smoke. The price point on the food was appropriate for this type of dining in this part of SF. We did have some trouble with the steak orders, which we worked out with the manager, and which was unfortunate. For those that have been there before, this seemed to be just a one time thing. Wait staff were attentive enough, and the overall restaurant was full. I can imagine that when B Ball season starts, it is going to be difficult to get reservations given the connection between the owner and the star of the team!

Enjoyed a ribs dinner with a friend. The food was good OK. Service was spotty. Noise level made hard.

A $500+ NYE dinner for 2 was all great except for the food. Staff were lovely. Cocktails excellent. But food was why we were there and it wasn’t anything I’d recommend. The menu was prix fixe. We both went with the filet which showed up unlike any filet I’ve ever seen. A triangular piece of meat smothered in too-salty gravy. The creamed spinach was nice goop. The smashed potato (we think) was nice other than the golf ball sized chunk of nearly raw center. All in all, dinner was 30% good, 20% fine and 50% bad. We did enjoy Kevon Looney getting seated a couple of seats away but, in truth, the dining experience kinda mirrored the Warriors season so far.

We made a reservation for 9 o’clock . We arrived at 9:30 30 minutes late. We waited 10 minutes for the host. The restaurant had a lot of empty tables. The “manager” comes and tells us the kitchen closed at 9:30 and started blaming us for arriving late! I don’t understand why do they accept a reservation at 9:00 if by 9:30 we cannot order food. Extremely disappointed

Had the ribs with all 3 sauces. I lived in Austin for 3 years and had some fantastic BBQ. While the star in Austin is the meat (brisket), here the star is a combination of the ribs and the sauces along with some very tasty sides. This is NOT Texas BBQ - so don't expect that. But it is excellent food. The ribs were meaty and tender, and the sauces were all excellent. The mac and cheese side was very tasty and we loved the sweet potatoes. Service was a little slow - mainly waited to get the check. But the server was knowledgeable and friendly. The ribs are priced moderately ($22 for a half rack), but the sides were a little pricey. All in all a very good dinner though. We will be going back.

Prepare to be amazed. Great ribs! Excellent mac and cheese. Super yummy Brussel sprouts. Excellent banana dessert. Those were the stand outs. We also got the bacon appetizer, the lettuce Waygu wraps, and the berratta salad along with the really good corn bread. Super full by the end. Asked if any of the chefs were around and Michael Mina graciously came out and chatted for a minute and took a photo with us!

We had a really good meal here, we picked it because it showed clear gluten free items on the website prior. My husband had the steak which he said was the best he’s had and I had the gluten free half rack of ribs and chips. I’m extremely sensitive to gluten and I felt confident with by the menu choice and being looked after.

Recently had about 70 clients here for heavy appetizers and drinks. Overall the event was a success. Service throughout was very attentive. Also the snack were also quite good. if there was a complaint it would be that they should had had more table seating. Tough to stand and drink and eat all at once.

Though not quite up to par with other MM restaurants, International Smoke does live up to it’s hype. The menu is compact & on point, the staff is polite & professional, the service is very polished and the restaurant is extremely well designed. However, for folk planning to celebrate an anniversary or such, I’d recommend steering clear of week nights to avoid the rowdy, backpack lugging techies from nearby companies like Salesforce. They can be a bit of a nuisance!

As treated to dinner here by fans of everything Michael Mina. Lively and loud restaurant because of all the hard surfaces. Great location to get to on foot for anyone in the neighborhood of the Moscone Center. Had the crab soup (excellent) had the corn muffins excellent) had the whole head of cauliflower (overcooked and not especially flavorful) had the seafood platter (everything was perfectly cooked) had all three types of pork ribs ( well prepared, very good flavors but not excellent ) had Mac and cheese ( very good but could have been cheesier) had the crab fried rice (excellent) had the chocolate dessert (excellent plus). In short a great experience but when I go to a smoke house the ribs need to be the best things I have for five stars. That said I would certainly recommend and I will definitely dine there again and bring others. Service was. Way attentive and engaging.

The food was delicious. Perfectly spiced. I had the duck legs and salmon. The sauce under the salmon wasn't that good, but everything else was delicious. Very pricey.

We were there for Thanksgiving and appreciated the traditional menu with thoughtful additions. The food was good and served hot by friendly and engaged staff. Of all things, we were particularly impressed with the cornbread stuffing! It had a slightly sweet flavor that we are guessing was the taste of actual corn! So good! Staff & service were great. Ambiance was adequate given the construction views.

Did we make reservation 2 or 3 months ahead of time? Oh well, doesnt really matter. Needless to say we were looking forward to it. I will not bore you with the gastric tour of the evening. Service was oddly off-balance all night. Our server, brilliant at delivering the "specials of the evening soliloquy," could not deliver on either the actual dish (not like he described) or actually getting drinks and food and water to the table without being reminded. Food ok. Ribs were good, but I (and most of the world) have had great ribs in Texas, Memphis, St. Loius, or heck, Livermore, CA for that matter. Drinks took forever, meal arrived (yawn), and then we were given dessert menus and server disappeared. Did Ayesha want us to come back into the kitchen for a baking demo? No, I dont think she or Michael wanted us to make our own dessert, but... at that rate of service, it certainly seemed like we could have sped things up had we gone in back and put on an apron. Empty water glasses all night. Oh yeah, and we eventually did get our dessert. Folks, Intl Smoke is just ok. Knowing the buzz around this place, you might have to wait for a reservation far into the future to find out what "ok" looks and tastes like.

Dining and imbibing for several hours last night confirmed everything I experienced at the Hawaii location - International Smoke will be a hit in San Francisco. While the doors will be open to a few soft openings and charity events, this venue will mirror the highly successful International Smoke of the Mina Test Kitchen - an awesome place to enjoy future concepts - and the wildly successful International Smoke in Hawaii. The venue was formerly our beloved RN74 which has a great run of more than eight years and enjoys a superb location on the seam of SOMA and the Financial District (FiDi). At the base of he beautiful Millenium Tower, the location is excellent for those working and living in the neighborhood(s). I enjoyed nearly two weeks of daily eating, the best lunch, dinner or mid-day quick bite's in Hawaii. I can state, in complete confidence, that Ayesha and Michael have brought the best out in what will be BBQ that spans the world. Every dish and side exceeds expectation. The predictably friendly and professional service one would expect from the Mina Group - many of which served at RN74 - really enjoy what they do and it shows. From the polished management team, highly talented back of house, and those serving guests from the neighborhood as well as from out of town will ensure a consistently, great experience. This fun and casual venue is a welcome edition to the San Francisco. I am certain that International Smoke will enjoy a warm and sustainable relationship with everyone who dines, imbibes and relaxes at Ayesha Curry and Michael Mina's newest entry in the heart of San Francisco.

While we didn't actually eat at the restaurant, we went for a reception in their private room. Hors d'oeuvres were provided by the chef and were absolutely delicious. Succulent beef ribs, just the right size to dive into and enjoy over and over again. Passed one bites that included perfectly prepared shrimp, burrata toasts, pork tidbits, etc. Service was exceptional, as one would expect. And lovely ambiance. Will definitely be on our list to return.

First let me just say the service is AWESOME! I went on Saturday Mother’s Day Weekend to beat the crowd. Our reservation was at 5:15pm. We arrived at 5:00pm and was seated right away. Our waitress was a doll and our food arrive quick. My mom ordered the ribs, which were the bomb…fall right off the bone. I had the salmon. Now I don’t like my salmon cooked too long because it’ll be dry, BUT the middle was nearly raw. I ate both ends and left the middle. Luckily, my mom had a nice portion of ribs that I was able to eat from her plate. With their service being great, I’m sure that if I brought it to our waitresses attention, she probably would’ve taken it back to cook a little longer, but I NEVER send my food back.

We went here to eat dinner expecting a traditional BBQ menu- couldn’t be further from the truth. Yes there is BBQ but they have such a great selection of dishes. We had 4 appetizers and were very happy. I will definitely be back.

International smoke by Ayesha Curry and Michael Mina is an outstanding place for friends and couples alike to gather and just enjoy good food and drinks! I enjoyed they ribs and mouth watering appetizers beautifully plated. Service is out of this world! Highly recommended!

While, I didn't get a picture of the lunch menu, they do offer that. We had reservations, and while extremely busy for lunch, we didn't wait but a few minutes. Our service was very good and like that they described what ingredients made up each dish. The music was a bit loud, so people, like us were using much higher voices to speak during out meal.

One of the most delicious Cesar salad's we've had in a long time. Mac and cheese was also a favorite. The ribs were not what we hoped for. Korean one's too hot, American ones too blah. Desserts were far better and more interesting. Especially the special mochi birthday cake which is not on their menu. I can see why Texas venue closed. Hard to compete with Ribs in Texas!

Went to the International Smoke House with high expectations and it did not disappoint. We ate the "sampling menu" and were able to get a sampling of everything the restaurant has to offer. Every portion was EXCELLENT and was perfectly cooked! Highly recommend the "sampling menu". Plan to take left overs home!

Came from Giants game for Happy Hour. Eric was an amazing bartender. Great customer service. Friendly and efficiently worked the bar. You should have him train the others.

So I'm a huge Warriors fan and thought this would be interesting. The pork ribs are good, but at $38 a rack, really pricey. A small bibb lettuce salad with a tiny portion of salmon is $16. Lots of dishes are cooked in soy, and peanuts, so if you have allergies, you have to avoid a lot. I thought it was good, not great, and really expensive for what it was - but the big negative is the noise level, we were almost shouting to hear each other. Not good.

We were not able to get reservations but wanted to give it a try. If you are looking at Happy Hour Bar time, aim for 4:00. It is a small area and gets tight with people waiting for the dinner hour at 5:00. We enjoyed the mac and cheese with roast tips. The roasted peppers were great as well with a sweet sauce. The interior is dark, but not unwelcoming. Lots of groups enjoying their time together. Well done Ayesha!!!

While the ribs used to be amazing, the last time my wife and I went to International Smoke was very disappointing. The ribs were the real reason we used to eat at the restaurant. Unfortunately, we will not return.

There was a lot of talk in the city about the opening of this restaurant. Unfortunately it didn’t live up to the hype. The server we had was rude, very slow and lacking in knowledge about the food. The food is good (not amazing) but extremely expensive. The wine list was extensive but they didn’t have the first two choice on the list. However it took them over 30 mins to get to this conclusion! For me, it just didn’t live up to expectations.

We had a hard time getting reservations and opted for the early slot at 5pm. The food was so worth it and now I realize why this place stays packed. Ayesha Curry really has some yummy dishes on the menu. We ordered the table sampler where you get samples for 2 pp of “everything”!!! We ate jalapeño cornbread with this seafood sauce. Had ribs, duck sticks, Mac and cheese with rib tips, avocado salad, crispy Brussels sprouts, BBQ chicken and sweet potatoes and some type of fish. Hands down excellent service and ambiance. It’s downtown San Francisco but plenty of parking is nearby.

My husband and I made a reservation here for our Anniversary. The service was good. The ambience of the restaurant was relaxed with a nice playlist in the background. I looked at a few options using the online menu which was slightly different from actual menu in the restaurant. The minor differences really limited my vegetarian options. I was looking forward to Ayesha's cornbread muffins only to find out they contained "shrimp paste". The cocktails/drinks were good, well mixed. The falafel appetizer, although small, was flavorable. We received a card and complimentary wine for our Anniversary which was very nice. Overall, if you're vegan or vegetarian, this may not be the best restaurant for you as there are limited options.

I came to this restaurant for a business lunch. As I walked in the place / layout looked familiar, and then i remembered I have been there before when it was called RN74. My experience then was a bad one, coming for a lunch meeting too. The reason I came to RN74 back in 2016 was that I really enjoyed the Seattle location and I wanted tk try the original. It was a really bad experience for me back then, as after waiting for a long time for our table (understandable) we ordered the food. The food came in after ~ 20 minutes ..... except for my order. I was told it would be out soon. After asking multiple times and waiting for 45min while everyone else already finished their main course, I told them I had to leave for another meeting and they said it’s coming out any minute, we could box it for you. I left without having lunch (just watched other people eat), and swore to to return to that place. When I saw a new restaurant I decided to give it a try. We got there and had a table for 10 on the right side behind the bar. It is really good as it is isolated from the main area and more quiet, although surrounded by large screen TV’s (I’ll get back to it shortly). The menus are a la carte, no lunch deals, with a nice selection. We ordered the meals and I ordered the RN74 burger and asked for Medium, I guess they kept it in the menu as it was really famous. I had it in Seattle and it was delicious. The food arrived and my burger was overdone and burnt black on one side, I mean it actually tasted like burnt meat. I called the waitress and she apologized and took it back. She came back to the table to assume me that it was on the grill and that they will make it really quick. After 30 minutes of waiting (and watching my colleagues eat), one of my clients felt bad and called the waitress to ask about my food. After 5 minutes she came back saying it was coming. It did, after another 5 minutes. All in total ~ 40 minutes after it was taken back. It was done right the second time, but i already had a “bad taste”. Now back to the TV’s. I did not come to the place to watch TV, but u had one just in front of my face. All TV’s were showing something about the NFL draft, except for the one in front of me. It had the series “Bones” and in that episode they were in the Lab dissecting a burnt body, taking pieces of the body and looking under the microscope. I called one of the employees and asked him if the scene on the TV seemed appetizing and he apologized and went to the bartender and asked him to change channels, and he did. I understand the place has hype (maybe the celebrity owners have to do with it), but I would suggest paying attention to details or this place will not make it very far.

I ate at Ayesha Curry ‘s International Smoke when it was an oddity in Michael Mina’s Test Kitchen; his venue for trying out new concepts. Of those, Smoke turned out to be a smash hit and a version was opened in Honolulu. When a permanent version was opened in San Francisco’s Millennium Tower (formerly hosting RN74), it became fully booked three months out. It’s so successful that additional locations are planned across the country. Let’s hope the dilution doesn’t seep back to destroy what I found to be a fine restaurant with outstanding dishes. Prices may seem high but the portion sizes are beyond substantial. A solo diner may be hard pressed to go past two appetizers. The succulent pork slider trio is large enough to almost substitute as a main. The Wagyu Shaking Beef is cooked at the table and is essentially a lettuce wrap complimented by Asian slaw and grape tomatoes with fish sauce on the side. While somewhat less ample it was excellent. That should have been enough for me but I wanted to try the new versions of a couple of things Ayesha Curry served in the test kitchen. The cornbread was definitely up-scaled by the addition of Buttered Curry; which made it difficult to eat without a fork and knife. Unfortunately, it wasn’t a star; then or now. I also tried her favorite desert, Key Lime Pie Pafait. A bit more whip cream and a little less crust this time and a rich portion that can only be fully enjoyed by two people. The drink options are quite varied. The wine list leans Old World on the whites and New World on the reds. The glass list is compact with some that are well-priced (I didn’t look at the bottle list). The beer options are more expansive. The small cocktail menu is inventive and the one I had, Gina Jamaica, was well balanced. Service, as in most Mina establishments, was excellent. The restaurant offers a Happy Hour menu from 4 PM to 6 PM and 10 PM to close Monday through Friday with selected appetizers and a handful of drinks about 15 to 20% off. It’s reasonable, depending on what you like. Caramel popcorn is the bar snack – unusual as it forestalls cravings and doesn’t make you thirsty. Don’t be daunted by the impossible reservation situation. The expansive bar lounge with many tables is reserved for walk-ins. While it quickly fills up; if you arrive before 5 PM you should be able to get a table or a bar seat. Expect to spend about two hours here and pay around 100 USD for a meal with two drinks; including tip, tax, and surcharge. International Smoke has definitely matured into a delightfully eclectic BBQ-style restaurant with food that will make you want to come back. I recommend you try it.

Awesome food.. Loved the corn bread and the macaroni cheese. the duck drumsticks were amazing too.. and the cocktails. Delicious. Great buzz..

Our first night of six in San Francisco and it started off really well. My picky 17 year old son shocked everyone by ordering the garlicky fried rice. Well, he pretty much ate the entire bowl. What I was able to taste was so good it should be illegal. We ordered two different kinds of ribs between three of us and my wife ordered the short rib. Everything was really good, great flavors and the short rib was unique in that it came on the bone Fred Flinstone syle! Other sides were very good. Dessert was a bit average. Service was prompt and friendly and prices were fair. Worth going to for sure

Had dinner there August 15, 2018 with three friends. Presentation of the food was great and wait staff was extremely pleasant, knowledgeable, and attentive. The food was expensive and only of average quality. Around our table, we had the cornbread muffins, which were outstanding as was the cream corn. We ordered the chips, which were marginal, with the dipping sauce interesting but not well paired with the chips. We added the duck frys and the wedge salad. For entrees, we had the rib combo and the short ribs. With chocolate mousse and key lime dish for desserts. The duck frys offered nothing different than regular frys and actually lacked some flavor. The wedge salad was a huge disappointment: bacon was great, but dressing lacked any semblance to a solid blue cheese dressing -- it was more like a bland ranch. The combo ribs (American, Asian, and Mexican) were well cooked but lacked much interest in seasoning. The short ribs were far more salty than they should have been and definitely devoid of the signature sweetness of Korean short ribs. The deserts were great with the key lime having a wonderful key lime flavor. The restaurant is well laid out regarding tables and table separation, but is extremely noisy. It is definitely not the place to go for an intimate conversation of any kind. All in all, a fun and pleasant evening as a San Francisco experience, but not a restaurant to which we will soon return.

Excellent service coupled with a very interesting menu. Co- owned by popular restauranter Michael Mina and Ayesha Curry(Stephen's wife), the food and casual surroundings add up to an excellent experience.

A trip to San Francisco is all about good restaurants. I wanted to try because I simple love Ayesha Curry as a successful woman, mother and wife and Michael Mina don’t need to say much else. The food exceeded my expectations the shrimp was my favorite but everything from the fries, cornbread and chicken you can’t go wrong. A must stop when visiting the city!

Pleasant atmosphere, soft lighting and very friendly staff. Caribbean food, very little choice. High prices, unaffordable wine.

Went here with 2 couples. Took 2-1:2 months to get reservation. Good was excellent, service was top notch. Venue is noisy, lighting is very dim so hard to read menu except for flashlight. Banana desert was over the top delicious. Only complaint was the drinks are full price but small pours. Girls ordered martinis and they were half size compared to other restaurants. Same thing with the wine pours. That was disappointing. Ribs were delicious but still not as good as Phil's Barbecue in San Diego (he's still the best in California by far!)

We made our reservation months in advance - not realizing Game 4 of the Golden State Warriors - Houston Rockets NBA Western Championship Series would be that night. Since we arrived early, we waited for our table in the bar and could watch the game and have a conversation. Once seated we could only tell how the game was going if the fans on the screen looked noisy and happy or if they sat still. The service and the food were fun and delicious respectively. The game was not a distraction at all, until, at the end, when one of our many servers was clearing some plates. He froze, dishes in hand. I looked up and saw him staring at the screen. I tapped his elbow, smiled and said, "No watching on the job." We both got a good laugh. International Smoke - watch Curry while eating a curry designed by a Curry. Heaven....

First time here. Very Welcoming. Food was delicious. The corn bread was 🔥it comes with a sauce on it. It you don’t like sauces ask to put on the side. Mac n Cheese delicious. Ribs yummy salmon and snapper 🔥. The coffee was very good as well. The downside all of our food did not come out at the same time. I had to ask twice about my grandsons plate. Reservations highly recommended. It was very busy. Still under construction we parked a block away

Great location. Warm yet elegant atmosphere. Plenty of seating even with no reservation on a busy night. Lots of polite and knowledgable staff checking on you routinely throughout the night. Front of the house: booths, tables, upscale casual. Bar and lounge: TVs, bar seating, hi-bar quad seating tables, communal seating. Mixed drinks: Very interesting drink choices. The “CANDLEMAS” was yummy! Tequila, ginger, persimmon and star anise. Not too sweet but full of refreshing flavor! Highly recommend it. The bar staff knows how to make a drink; perfect alcohol content ratio. I also tried the RHINESTONE COWBOY. Another winning combo. A perfect second cocktail of the night. Wine selection: Very interesting wines by the glass-not your standard choices so you get to taste great wines from all over the world. Smoked ribs: We chose the combo plate! Meat is delicious, perfectly cooked, fall off the bone tender. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!! American ribs, mexican ribs (nice dry rub with mexican ADOBADA spices) and korean rib with Gochujang spices and sesame. Incredible! Sides: I love brussel spouts and International smake’s were fabulous! The soy caramel and peanuts were a great extra touch! Surprises: The Buttered Curry Cornbread was AMAZING!!!! Don’t miss it if you are getting the ribs. Love the door signs on the bathrooms. No detail missed in the planning of this place! Definitely Here to stay. a flash in the pan celeb eatery at all.

The decor is dark wood and glass. We loved our starters and shared everything. The American ribs were good but the Korean short rib dis was amazing. We also love the Brussels Sprouts dish. One of the cocktails comes in a Spam can, that was a hoot for my client to enjoy.

Lunch reservations are much easier to get and the menu is the same as dinner, so if you can’t get in for an evening meal consider lunch as an alternative. Some of our food was very good and some were mediocre. For example, the shaking beef appetizer was a fun presentation with the beef cooked table side, but the taste was bland; even with the vegetable accompaniment, flavors were lacking. For our main courses, the pork chop and the ribs were delicious but it took almost 45 minutes after our appetizer arrived for the main course to be served which seemed inordinately long. Beer, wine and drink selection is terrific. For dessert we shared the key lime pie parfait which was underwhelming being mostly whipped cream with very little key lime and it was more like a pudding, certainly not a parfait. Perhaps a better choice of appetizer and dessert would have elevated this to a four star review but the kitchen really needs to improve its pacing and provide more consistent quality with the flavor profiles.

The restaurant has a very interesting fusion of Asian and Southern cuisine, with dishes like cornbread with Thai red curry butter and Korean-Style Beef Short Rib. The seafood options are also very nice and beautifully prepared, like the Miso-Marinated Chilean Sea Bass, one of the best sea bass I have ever had. For dessert, I specially recommend the Passion Fruit Parfait, which comes with mango, coconut and macadamia nuts and which is incredibly refreshing and tasty. The service was another highlight of the night and we have to thank particularly to our waiter (Kris) for being very helpful, patient and knowledgeable.

I notified the restaurant that we were in from the East coast to celebrate my daughter's birthday over spring break. When we arrived the hostess wished her Happy Birthday, and there was a handwritten card on the table for her! The restaurant went out of their way to provide great service and the food was absolutely delicious! I would definitely like to return if/when on the west coast.

Ribs were excellent. Fries were excellent. Wedge salad was excellent. But why charge $3 for a flat, bar Tap Diet Coke? The server graciously brought me 4 Cokes, but never told me I was paying $3 for each of them. In the end, $12 worth of Coke. Each class held approximately 5 oz because it was filled with ice. I would have been better off buying my drink at the movie theater. I don't mind spending a ton of money for a fantastic meal. But $12 for the equivalent of a 7-Eleven 24 oz bottle of coke is insane.

The popularity of this restaurant can have you on a reservation list for a few weeks out. Street parking can be tough, there are a few parking lot/garages walking distance. Inside you will find a formal dining area, a bar and an eating lounge- spacious with a good vibe. Without reservations we tested our luck and seated immediately in the lounge which was awesome. The food: Green papaya salad- Asian inspired, very fresh and tastey Rib eye - smoked in hay. Layered white bean it was cooked nicely and came in a good portion. Cornbread- fun with jalapeno and a drizzle. I wished it was a bit more moist. Smoked Ribs- nice tangy flavor, border line salty. I suppose it all depends which flavor you choose. American, Korean or Cuban Mac n Cheese w/pork tips- most popular selling dish and glad we ordered it. I am waiting for Mrs Curry to bless us with one of your home made specials.

We had lunch here and it was more like having lunch and dinner at the same time. It was only a half-hour from lunch closing time but the staff didn't try to rush you. The portions were large, really too large for lunch. My spouse's Short Rib came with what the staff calls a "dinosaur bone," which means you get a very large and delicious portion. My half-rack pork ribs seemed more like a full rack, and it was very very good. My husband thought the Smoked Burrata was a little too smokey for him, but it must be called "Smoked" for some reason, right? For the amount of food and the high level of service, Ayesha Curry's and Michael Mina's International Smoke seems well worth the money spent.

Very good, table of 8 which was fairly late and they didn’t make you feel like it was! Food was excellent, lovely crisp to the meat and the wine list was super.

I finally got to go to International Smoke and it was everything I had hoped it would be and more. The service was top notch and every dish we ordered was amazing. I’ll be returning next time I’m in the Bay Area

Simply delicious and great service. I really enjoyed our Dinner and the ambient ist quite nice. I definitely recommend it.

A good and interesting experience that I would recommend. My best decision was to go with the tasting menu (Fuego) as I was having trouble what to decide and it gave me a chance to sample all of their specialties. It wasn’t like a traditional tasting menu as the food more came out in batches, all the starters, then the three larger plates individually. They also didn’t put as much showmanship into each dish, I was expecting a little more description of the plates as they arrived, but can’t fault it. Among the starters, the duck wing (arguably their signature dish) was my favorite, with the Caesar salad a close second. For the mains, the salmon jumped out at me. The rib trio also had very distinct flavors (unlike other reviews), and I enjoyed how much they varied. I also loved the two sides, a macaroni and cheese which had a great amount of burnt cheese that I loved and some very tasty Brussels sprouts. The chocolate pound cake for dessert didn’t do much for me, but I am not a dessert guy and wasn’t very hungry by the time it came. Which leads to my last point, this was not one of those menus where you need to get something to eat afterwards, even without adding the fillet option, it was way more food than I was expecting. A very good experience.

We went to dinner here tonight as a family (2 Adults & 2 Kids). I loved that the were super accommodating for kids and made the burger and fries kid friendly. The food was delicious, we had the Waygu beef lettuce wraps (a must), burrata, I had the ribs, and the Caesar salad (which was ok). I would definitely return and be ok with bringing my family.

I loved the service, Everyone was so helpful.. From us not having reservation. From the Food to Eat..

Last evening in San Francisco..the place is very nice, well-kept..kind and attentive staff..we ate a plate of ribs and a slice of salmon..delicious! I absolutely recommend it 💯

Inviting, warm, great service with delicious food! Innovative menu of fabulous meat or non-meat dishes! Perfect for a gathering of friends for food and/or drink! Full bar. Overall a wonderful experience. No outdoor seating, park at any nearby lot. Reservations a must!

I made my reservation one month in advance! When it finally came, I was glad we got a chance to try it out! Everything we order was DELICIOUS!!! I ordered the short rib for my entree...IT WAS HUGE!!!! Totally worth it!!! Worth visiting again!!! And no..I didn’t see Steph or Ayesha Curry!

I’ll start with the service. Four men at a business dinner. Price did not matter. The waitress could not have been more unfriendly. All of us had the same reaction to her. We were looking for engagement, recommendations, or even just a little bit of liveliness. We got nothing. As an appetizer, we ordered the bacon buns. Less then room temperature and just OK. The ribs were good but not the best in the world. Maybe I’m spoiled on Texas barbecue. I actually have no idea what we spent, but it seemed expensive relative to quality and service. Will not return.

I was in San Francisco for work and a collegue from here recommeded we have dinner there. I had some excellent charcoal grilled oysters as an appetizer before devouring a full platter of delicious, meaty St. Louis pork ribs BBQ style, one of three different seasoning varieties they offer. He went with the Cedar smoked salmon and we split two of their side dishes the brussel sprouts and Rip Tip Mac and Cheese. Lip smaking good grub. Much to our surprise as we had just asked for our check we say Steph Curry and Joel Embiid walking out before Warriors hosted the 76ers in a game Thursday night! Since I'm from the Philly area my colleague.had also gotten us two tickets for that game. It's not every day you eat in a restuarant connected to an NBA player's wife, see the husband and another NBA player dining there and then get to see them play each other a few hours later! I can't guarantee you any sightings but I can guarantee you'll get some seriously good food at International Smoke!

I had the Sinaloa chicken and had garlic rice and mushroom as a side. Food was good. Restaurant looks great. Make sure you have reservations. Service wasn't good. We ate and we left. It's not a restaurant that would make me come back. Overall, good place to try. Now I can say been there done that.

We were visiting from out of town and had made reservations to eat here. Unfortunately, our flights were extremely delayed so we ended up getting to the restaurant very late. The last call for food is around 930PM - we ended up having to order very shortly after arriving at the location. We went ahead and ordered a variety of food (we ended up ordering way too much - the portion sizes are quite large). We ordered the Curry Up Now and the Shape Shifter - the drinks looked very nice but did not execute on flavors. For food, Duck Wings, Bacon Bao Buns, Chicken Karaage, Cornbread - I thought the best of these choices were the duck wings and the chicken karaage. We also ordered the Combo Rack with Mac n Cheese, Crab Fried Rice, and Whipped potatoes and gravy. Out of all the food that we ordered, the only dishes I would try again are the Duck Wings and Chicken Karaage.

We saw a YouTube recommendation for this place and thought we would try it. OMG the service is amazing, friendly and quick. Food was impressive and options provided for us to try different things. We were presented with a lovely card wishing us a happy anniversary and two complimentary glasses of bubbles. Would highly recommend for non vegetarians.

I had the business lunch and the food preparation and presentation was very good. I had the quinoa and avocado salad which was one of the best salads I've eaten in a restaurant. The one negative about the salad was the avocado was not cut up into pieces. It almost seemed like it was an afterthought, putting half of an avocado in the middle of the salad. It wasn't there for reasons having to do with presentation, so I don't know why they didn't cut it into bite-sized pieces. My husband had the Tom Kha soup which had some heat to it, and I ate his cornbread which had more of a texture similar to a birthday cake - light and airy, versus the more coarse, denser texture of cornbread I expected. Nonetheless, it was delicious. My husband had the chicken and I had the cod and we both enjoyed our meals. The portions were of a good size, so we didn't leave hungry. Chocolate chip cookies to go were good, but smaller in size than I've had at other restaurants when ordering dessert. We sat in a booth and next to us was a ledge which ran the length of the table and boy, was it dusty! I could have written "clean me" in it!

Heard great things about this Ayesha Curry and Michael Minna collab... So.i had high expectations. First I have to say. The food was fantastic! Ribs didn't fall.off the bone, but it was still good. We also had the duck canitas, excellent! Ribeye Mac n cheese, yummy! Now for the bad part. Service was subpar to the quality of what the restaurant should be. Meaning the service did not match or meet the standard of quality. Waited 15 mins to be seated, AND we had reservations. When we sat we knew to order a pitcher of sangria, cuz we saw it on the menu..10 mins alter we had a glass instead. THEN had to wait another 20-30 mins for the pitcher. In that time our food was ordered. Ordered sides/apps-cornbread was delicious, ribs and waiter suggested duck canitas. 10 mins later sides and cornbread came out. Then duck canitas. But still waiting on pitcher of sangria. 34 mins after we sat..the sangria came out, we had finished the duck canitas. At the hour mark the waiter finally came around and asked us how we were doing. We asked when the ribs were coming out. He had a confused looked on his face. Prior to that we had asked the hostess to cancel one order of ribs. He apologized for not putting the order in. Did it would take 5 mins. 20mins passed and our ribs finally came out. At this point we had just wanted to leave. Took our ribs home and had a snack later that evening. Lesson to be learned...have the waiter read back your exact order to you before he leaves the table. Whole experience was to worth the expensive price tag.

I had lunch at International Smoke today for the second time and the food there is pretty darn good. I had a rib eye steak the first time I went, today I had the combination 3 style ribs….it was massive and we could not eat them all. For sides, we have had the papaya salad, shaken beef, house fries and mac & cheese. All are excellent but not cheap. This was a business lunch so it was not on my dime. The service was good but not quite as attentive to our needs on both visits. Reservations are a must, especially for dinner. There is no parking and traffic on Mission Street in this area is terrible. Take BART, Lyft or walk. Avoid the buses in SF in this area (and all other areas too for that matter), they are terrible.

Spent the day in the city and stopped by for lunch. There was a Business lunch special for $35 that includes starter, entree and a cookie. Hubby had the ribs which were very tender, I had the Sinaloa chicken which was juicy and very flavorful. Service was great and we found parking across the way in a garage for Sales Force, only $2.50 for an hour (valet).

It was nice and quiet just after New Years. We sat at the bar and enjoyed the SalesForce murals but have to say we were underwhelmed with 2 of our 3 shared appetizers arriving lukewarm at best. We let the bartender know our first pork tostadas were lukewarm. He said he'd tell the kitchen. Sizzling wagu was nice and hot, super good, though not much beef. Our mac and cheese also arrived only slightly warmed so we sent this one back and another came instantly, but still not gooey hot as we had hoped for. We thought the bartender could have perhaps poured us a little more wine to make up for the starters but no. I understand everyone was tired after the holidays but it's precisely why we head up to SF then, for the quiet and typically nice attention. The flavors were great, but no excuses for lukewarm food on a quiet night.

while trendy, this place really delivers the goods! excellent, enthusiastic service, to go with the concept... bbq and other smoked delights from around the globe. Do NOT miss the ribs - and do the sampler (done with 3 distinct types of sauces - American, Korean, and Hispanic) - the ribs themselves, done St.Louis cut were perfect - and the preparation....slow cooked, tender and near falling off the bone. We also just loved the Kahlua pork belly buns... OMG my mouth is watering just remembering the wonderful taste! Our table also totally loved the smoked shrimp appetizer as well. the bib salad with smoked salmon and goat cheese was also quite a hit, as was the 3 brule sampler. very fun night out and our entire table spent many moments simply going 'Yummmmm"

Great service. Happened to have dinner on a night when Steph And Ayesha Curry were also having dinner. The food is excellent and great drinks.

Just wasn't impressed. My wife had dined here before and raved about it. Although the food is good it just wasn't up to expectations. Nice decor but loud. If you go try the "signature" cocktail (not on the menu) and the lettuce wraps (much better than PF Changs).

I’d been hearing about the ribs at International Smoke all the way over here in Atlanta. I can confirm that those ribs were worth the flight from ATL to SFO. I had a reservation for one on a Monday night and the restaurant was buzzing. Bonus points because I dined solo and didn’t feel out of place. The wait staff here is extremely attentive. I ordered the Movin' on Up Cocktail, Maine Lobster Mac-N-Cheese and Korean Sesame-Gochujang Ribs. Hats off to the Chef for the complimentary order of Ayesha’s Fresh-Baked Cornbread. Everything I ate was superb. The mac-n-cheese had chunks of lobster in it. The ribs were oh so tender. And the cornbread was super moist. The whole meal was perfection. I could only eat half because the portions were ideal for sharing. But no worries, the ribs were still delicious the next day when I reheated them!

We had a terrific meal here - the branzino, Korean short ribs and bao buns were outstanding. Service was excellent and dining room was lively and fun. I will certainly recommend to my friends in the area. It's a bit difficult to find the entrance these days, but that should cease to be a problem soon. Highly recommend this restaurant.

As much as I wanted it to be, the food wasn't outstanding, but it was good. The restaurant has nice ambiance and I did think that their list of cocktails was both yummy and creative. You can also get cbd oil in your non-alcoholic drinks. Defintely worth a visit!

We were curious and really enjoy BBQ, so this was the perfect place to select for dinner. The menu is truly about grilling using different flavours from around the world. The restaurant is inspired by Michael Mina and Ayesha Curry. We tried the Wagyu Beef and ribs. The ribs are really smoked well and full of fresh flavours. Really worth a visit! Reservations are required as there is limited seating.

We arrived 15 minutes early and the young hostess with many tables open tells us we need to wait. We were quite surprised. We then ended up at a table that was open when we arrived 15 minutes later. We were not at all happy with the customer service. We then ordered lunch the smoked burrata salad was terrific in its presentation with a glass cover to let out the smoke at your table. We also had the corn bread that was excellent. Then the Argentinian Beef ribeye prepared medium rare. It was quite amazing in flavor and taste cooked in hay. The only thing was that it was a bit fatty. Service was Ok at the table but the bussers with the food were good.

Heard about this place and decided to meet some of No Cal friends here for dinner. The service was great and my friends recall this being another restaurant, which was just as nice inside. The bar scene was festive and we sat there before our reservation and had very good drinks. As for the food, it too was excellent. We had a fair sample of the menu and dessert and were not disappointed. I hear reservations are hard to come by, but it’s well worth a visit when in town!

The food here is amazing. There wasn't any dish that I didn't like. They are all flavorful and just plain yummy!

We recently went to San Francisco to visit some friends and they were excited about trying out this restaurant. It’s in a great location! However the food was average. My hubby got the ribs (Vietnamese) style and loved them. I ordered the cod and it was just ok. I’m surprised that they didn’t provide bread on the table. The drinks were expensive and not the greatest! So it really was just average!

Everyone in my group agreed that the food was very good. They had the Sinaloa Chicken dish, half rack of ribs and Ayesha’s Curry Cornbread. I don’t like that my colleagues Mai Tai drink came out in a spam can - she didn’t care for it either. I did like the decor and the music. The server was very helpful and attentive to our group. But, they do not have a gluten-free menu and some of the menu descriptions need to list ALL ingredients, for those of us with food allergies! I had the crab fried rice and no where did it list that there were mushrooms in this dish. I am highly allergic to mushrooms and yes, I did tell the server about all of my food allergies before I ordered. I ended up just having the broccoli, which was very tasty. I plan to go to the Houston location when I’m there in business in January 2020. But please update your menu and have a gluten-free menu available. Thank you! Hi Ayesha, wish we could have met you in San Francisco.

We had dinner here for the first time. The vibe when you walk in was nice and the greeters were pleasant. We had reservations for 845pm, but arrived super early, as we didn’t know how much traffic we would hit. While waiting we noticed a table at the bar area that was clear. My hubby asked if it was open seating there and was told those seats were not. The seat stayed empty for a good 25 minutes before they called a couple next to us to have a seat there. I was perplexed as to why they had to wait. The couple arrived before us and the table was available for at least 25 minutes.. (still scratching my head). Service was good but slow. The server was super nice, but maybe had too many tables he was responsible for. Food was just average unfortunately. I think the hype is over rated. It’s nice to be able to say we tried it, but will not be going back.

Upscale, slightly pricey but fantastic service. Located in the district among the buildings of Salesforce & banks, this restaurant accommodates to the demographic. We ordered the pork belly bao buns which were absolutely incredible - faultless. Service was immaculate - very attentive waitress The american ribs were among the better ones I've had, but not the best. The cauliflower was as good as cauliflower could be The garlic fries certainly lived up to their name. Strong and delicious Would recommend this for business or a more formal lunch/dinner.

We arrived a bit early for our 7:15 reservation on Saturday night, but we were seated right away. Two people in our party were celebrating birthdays and they were wish happy birthday by our waitress and the manager. They were offering a family style tasting menu - everyone at the table had to participate. We were all in and we were all very happy we chose the tasting menu. We tasted so many wonderful dishes. It was a lot of food. One person in our party did not eat pork and they had no problem making substitutions for him. The Thai curry soup & duck legs were so good and I loved the ribs, mac n cheese and Brussels spouts. The service was also very good.

We went to International Smoke for our anniversary and it did NOT disappoint! We went with the no brainer Ayesha's Tasting Menu and we were stuffed. Beginning with the Dungeness Crab soup, red curry, peanuts and famous cornbread our taste buds were salivating for each subsequent course. I'm a total sucker for burrata so the second course with heirloom tomatoes and prosciutto was to die for as it was smoked and presented in the most unique way - with the smoke in a glass container! Then we got to taste all three kinds of ribs with the trio and I have to say the Korean style was my favorite. By then, I was already getting a little full, but we pressed on. Next was grilled Wagyu beef with potatoes and I thought I was going to explode, BUT dessert was just too good! Oh, before that we also added a mac n cheese cause we just HAD to from her place, it's a signature dish! For dessert we somehow got a summer berry shave ice which made us think of Hawaii it was totally yummy but the BEST was the key lime pie with cinnamon toast crunch. I literally thought I was going explode at this point but I couldn't stop eating it. I hated to leave any of it behind, but at 9 mo pregnant, I only had so much room in my stomach with the baby in most of the space. I'm still dreaming about it today. As for the place, the location is in a quieter part of time after work hours, but they have a ton of space when there's not a private party going on in the atrium. It's clean, modern and not too loud. The wait staff were fabulous and very attentive as well as knowledgeable. They were sweet and had a card for us to congratulate us on our anniversary - a nice touch!. I'd go back again in a heartbeat. There's a lot more food I'd still like to try and it's a great place for large groups as well. I can't wait until we can go again.

Took a business associate to lunch there today. The ambiance was ruff elegance. The staff was very attentive and helpful. The menu had lots of meats to choose from and I liked the worldly choices but I made a mistake ordering the St Louis Ribs. The sauce was what I expected but I couldn't taste the rub because the pork was dry. it came off the bone but overdone and not moist. For a Mina experience I thought the prices were reasonable. The fries were very good. I will go back because I saw a lot of other choices that I would like to try.

We ate there with the family. We were sited promptly. Restaurant has efficient , well trained staff. Food was absolutely delicious. Waiter was monitoring everything. The minute, we finished appetizers, plates and utensils were changed, and main corse served. I recommend this restaurant.

I came here twice while I was in SFO within 2 days. Service was good. Food wasn’t bad. I had two things I didn’t care for. BBQ sweet potato and salmon. Experienced happy hour, first hour I couldn’t order food off the reg menu. Would recommend.

We booked our place 2 months ago and were put in a side part of the restaurarant which was not even really in the restaurant . Terrible lights, no mood. We ordered the wagyu beef starters which was good but arrived before our drinks. We were halfway through the starter (have been eating for 3 minutes) when they arrived with the main course. I guess they realised on our face the surprise and they offered to take it back to kitchen while we finish the starter. Still no drinks, but after the starter we got the chilps with the sauce that we supposed to get with the drinks at the beginning. Sooo are the main dishes just getting completely cold?! Main dish was ok but the ribs are overspiced and you cant feel the taste of the meat . We didnt ask for dessert. So they brought the bill without asking for it as if they wanted to kick us out. it was a HUGE disappointment , especially the service and the place where they seat some of the “punished” pple like us.

Excellent from start to finish. We shared the triple rib combination and it was fall off the bone delicious. The cornbread biscuits were incredible. For entrées we had salmon and cod and finished with a huge cappuccino and the pudding trio!!!

Went to this spot off of the reputation of Ayesha Curry & her partner Michael Mina. Reservations are basically mandatory here, so know to do that first. On weekends, they only serve dinner, and they open at 5pm. We set a Sunday evening dinner. The space is pretty big, and has nice lighting. Parking isn't an issue on weeknds. It's on Mission street, maybe the busiest street in San Fran. The food was fantastic, and the service was very good. Good: had the st. Louis style ribs with the sesame-gochujang glaze, and they were EXCELLENT. Almost fall-off-the-bone tender, and an excellent cut and size of ribs. My wife had the smoked Korean shirt rib, and it was also huge & good. Got the rib-tip mac n cheese to share, which was heavenly. Ordered drinks which were moderately strong. Also, my wife told the hostess it was my birthday, and they gave me a bday card, and a free dessert, Ayesha's signature night cap key lime parfait, which was very good. That was a nice touch. Bad: we ordered the double duck wings as an appetizer, and our server forget to bring them. We really wanted those, so she gave it to us to take home, for free. Not bad, but we wanted them in restaurant. Also, I can agree that the almost the entire menu is spice heavy or just elevated bar food, but the actual quality and taste of the food makes it better than well...bar food. I'd recommend them, just be ready to spend some serious money, even if you go by yourself. Our tab for two entrees, one side, two drinks, a free dessert and free wings still came up to $150, before tip. Be proepared

Michael Mina needs to visit this restaurant and try the food. It is very much below the standard of his other restaurants. Friends and I went for happy hour as it is an easy way to sample a restaurant's food. The bar area feels like an uninspired sports bar and smelled of spilt beer. One bartender acted like he didn't want to be there at all and the other was pretty nice. We tried the double burger which was okay, the pork rib trio which was so fatty and almost inedible, the duck wings which had an interesting sauce but were chewy and not very good, and lastly the fried rice which had fatty pork and no flavor. Calling itself a smoke house seems a misnomer. None of the meats seemed smoked with the fat rendered. The ribs looked nothing like the photos on their website. We won't be back and in fact we went to another restaurant after eating here to have dessert in order to get the bad tastes out of our mouths.

This restaurant had a great atmosphere, with a fun vibe. Right when we walked in we were greeted with the wonderful smell of smoky barbecue. Our food was fantastic. My wife and I went her for our anniversary and both loved our entrees (I got the Sinaloa Chicken - very great flavor and huge portions - I could only eat half). We also loved the shared side of Brussels sprouts and our appetizer (Kailua Instant Bacon - steamed buns with pork, Pineapple salsa and Hawaiian teriyaki - fantastic).

Aesha Curry already warned that this isn't your father's ordinary BBQ joint. And I was intrigued by the theme of introducing grilled delicacies from multiple cultures. The restaurant is pleasantly urban diner-esque with a long bar and modern accents. But when we walked in, there was not a modicum of smoke fragrance, which made me immediately suspicious. Kalua bacon, the Thai crab soup, "duck wings," the outstanding corn bread, and anything else on the appetizer menu is golden. Brussel sprouts were delicious. But the rib eye, the seafood platter, the crusted black cod and, to our disappointment, even the full rack of ribs done 3 ways (Mexican, Asian & American) all missed the mark. The flavors were not memorable -- besides being outrageously expensive. ($92 for the seafood platter -- really?) Everything tasted lightly grilled, but not smoked. However, the complementary little side dish of green sauce was spectacular.. We wound up drenching everything in it, even if it already had a sauce. Service was fantastic -- friendly, helpful, attentive but not intrusive. A shout out to our lovely server, Lulu, who was just a joy. Our suggestion is to go for the happy hour drinks and make a meal off the appetizers. Your palate will be satisfied and your wallet will not be so empty.

This was the worst restaurants I have been too. The space is beautiful, but the food was for was terrible. My friends order the New York strip and I ordered the Double Burger thinking you cannot mess up a burger. But I was wrong what they served me was uneatable. So, for $280 for 3 people, I have to say skip this place we will not be going back again.

The restaurant's interior is so san francisco - modern and beautifully designed. The food , however , was not that impressive - the hickory / bbq is so strong and our food - bbq ribs, porkchop, salmon were too salty. We also felt so rushed that the waiter took our plate seeing that here was still muffins in it! He eventually replaced it with a new set. I find it inconsiderate though that the hostess refused to sit us in our reserved table simply because 1 person in our party of three was running late - it would have been smarter if she allowed us to claim our table , which was empty anyway, and we could have started our cocktails and appetizers while waiting - instead of standing outside in the cold. Another disappointment is not letting 2 of us order the prix fixe - telling us that all three are required to do so - that was a total letdown! Not our night obviously-and not recommending this one.

Ambiance and Food very good however Garlic was bit different from what we remembered when dining at Smoke in Vegas.Great looking place.

We stayed at Harbor Court Hotel and walked over for dinner and all we can say is WOW! This place was amazing, the staff, food and ambiance are great and you need make sure to eat here while in SF.

Wonderful food, great service and we did not feel crowded as the space is open and appealing. We went early for dinner but by the time we left, there were quite a few people and you didn't even know it because the space is so roomy. I had the platter of full baby back ribs (Korean, Jamaican, American) and they were very good. We all had a Caesar salad, also very good. Had a beer called JOY that I had never had before or seen and it was delicious. Overall, it was a great experience with good food and we'll be going back for sure.

Overall I rated International Smoke a 3 star but in all fairness, this was our first time after a 3 month wait. Our reservation was on a Sunday at 7:15P. My first impression was that finding parking was horrendous and traffic in a 4 block radius was just flat out obnoxious. We called the restaurant to ask for advice on where to park. We were told to go to 33 1st Street. There was no open parking garage, street parking or lot parking anywhere near that address. My assumption is that possibly they were talking about the parking garage at the SalesForce building which was not open on a Sunday. We finally found a small lot 3 blocks away that charged us $25 flat fee. They should consider offering valet parking. Service was good, our server did come back several times to check in with us. Price is normal for the type of restaurant that it markets itself to be. Alexander's Steakhouse, Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, Dry Creek Grill San Jose, Flemings are all comparable in price point. Food was okay but the flavor of the dishes we ordered was overpowering and we ended up not being able to finish what we had ordered. We started with the Kalua "Instant Bacon" appetizer. This was excellent. The "Bacon" was like a 1cm thick slice of pork (similar to the Chinese BBQ pork) so not really the traditional bacon. I would order this again. 1st Entrée was the Black Garlic & Miso Salmon. The salmon wrapped in Nori (seaweed) was flavorful but slightly dry, a common complaint of salmon. We're not sure where the black garlic fit into the mix but the salmon was sitting in a thin layer of Korean kimchee stew. Strong flavors but my husband would order that again. 2nd Entrée was the Braised Beef Short ribs. This was served with small potatoes, carrots and onions (Pearl?) and sticky rice. The sticky rice was more like medium grain white rice, not the traditional sweet sticky rice used in other Asian dishes. The portion of bone-in short rib was generous. The meat itself was not fall off the bone short ribs and there were parts of the meat that was chewy. The sauce was very tasty. It was the sauce flavors that totally overpowered the natural flavor of the short rib. Too much of the sauce was on the plate and it totally over ran into the vegetables and rice so there was nothing on the dish to tone down the sauce. 3rd Entrée American BBQ pork ribs 1/2 rack. The half rack was very good with a lot of meat on the bone. No additional BBQ sauce was added to the ribs. I would order this again. I'm not sure what the items were that came with the ribs. At first I thought it was a fruit dish but it looked almost like a salty Korean side. Side dishes were the garlic friend rice, smoked rib tip Mac & Cheese and the Curry Cornbread. The garlic friend rice was very garlicky and a dish that you could not use to tone down the flavors of your entrée. It was good though. The rib tip Mac & Cheese was just okay. Generous amount of rib tips on top of the Mac & Cheese but if you are traditionalist and like the flavor of the Mac & Cheese, the rib tips totally overpower the dish. It was good though. The Curry cornbread we ordered to go because we had heard good reviews on them. The cornbread was a typical cornbread muffin, maybe green chili mixed in...something green. They drizzle a red Thai curry sauce on top. I would order this again. Packing up of leftovers is done by the staff. You are given a claim check number to retrieve them from the kitchen when you are ready to leave. That was nice but we got a container with someone else's leftovers..... We have made another reservation for August to give it another try. Our strategy for ordering is to order dishes that might balance out the strong flavors of the entrees. Just keep in mind to read the ingredients when ordering because the soy, vinegar, and spices in the dishes can overpower your whole experience. The server did ask up front if anyone had food allergies. I would recommend to look at the menu online before you go. Our tab was over $300 for three of us but this included 2 glasses of wine and one nonalcoholic drink. Bon Appetite!

Eric in the bar was excellent! The food and drinks were terrific (we were there for their daily happy hour. Kudos to places that offer happy hour every day!

We spent the day in San Francisco. We bought a travel zoo promo to try out International Smoke by Ayesha Curry. The ribs were excellent and fell off the bone

I really wanted to like this restaurant but I just can’t give it even a passing grade. The space is beautiful but the food was for the most part just okay. I had to send my Thai Coconut soup back because it wasn’t hot. In fact though it was tasty it was barely even warm. They heated it up after I said something. Every dish is served a la cart so you order sides to go with your main dish. Our ribs came but nothing else. When we asked we were told the sides were on the way. 5 minutes later still no sides. The waiter comes back and says he’ll check. Another few minutes later he returns saying that he’d forgotten to place the sides order. The sides eventually arrive and yep barely warm. At the end of the meal I ordered coffee also barely warm and lava cake that when cut did not spill out because you guessed it barely warm. Soooo for $300 for 3 people I have to say skip it. Now if you still want to go they have a happy hour menu and the prices are much better for drinks and shared appetizers.

It was my mom’s first time visiting San Francisco and I wanted to take her somewhere special for her birthday, of course since I was in the area, International Smoke was the first and only place that came to mind. The ambiance was beautiful and the people we interacted with were great, until we met Raj, our server. He started off ok, but as time progressed, his service went from bad to worse. But for now, let’s focus on the positives - the food! We started with the cornbread and oh my God, I wish they came in a basket. For $6 you get two very nice size muffins with a curry butter sauce. We ordered 3 orders (partly because we spent what felt like ions waiting for our server). My only suggestion would be to maybe make it an order of 3, even 4. For the main dish, we all had something different. I had a 1/2 rack of the Smoked St. Louis Cut Pork Ribs with Korean-Sesame-Gochujang and they were OUT OF THIS WORLD! The meat was so tender and the sauce was beautifully seasoned and full of flavor. For my side, I had the rib-tip Mac & Cheese, which was equally delicious. My mom had the St. Louis ribs with American BBQ Sauce with the Mac & cheese and she couldn’t stop raving on how delicious the food was. She accompanied her entree with a Punch Drunk drink (minus the punch bowl) and it was pretty good. Kudos to the bartender! My aunt had the black cod. While she said the fish was good, she did say it was something she wouldn’t get again. She wasn’t a fan of the bok choy and she felt that her portion wasn’t as much as ours. Lastly, my cousin had the truffle Ceasar salad with smoked chicken. She loved the salad, but they took 1/2 of her salad away for the chicken. The chicken was seasoned well, but the smoky taste was all she got from it. Again, if she were to come back, she would just stick with the salad. Now that we have the good stuff out the way, let’s gets down to the horrible service. Like I stated earlier, he started off “just ok.” Throughout the course of the meal, he did not check on us to see if we needed anything. We had to flag other people down for water since he was M.I.A. Once the busser removed our entree plates, we waited for Raj about 20 minutes, if not longer. We purchased a cake for my mom for her birthday and we were looking for him to let him know we were trashy for it. He still brought the dessert menus after we politely told him that we would not be doing dessert because we had a cake already. He threw, yes THREW, the dessert menus on the table after we had to TELL him to go get the cake. When he got the cake, he literally sat the cake on the table, said a dry “happy birthday,” and walked off. HE NEVER CAME BACK TO THE TABLE! We had to get another lady, she may have been a manager, and we told her about the cake. She politely told us that she would take the cake back and get it cut for us. She bought it back and had three slices cut and Raj finally pops us with a tray of ice cream for my mom. Again, very dry and we were again, NOT impressed by him. When it was time for the check, he charged $35 for a cake fee. Mind you, it was a party of 4 and only 3 people had cake. He had to readjust the bill. When he came back with the new bill, he didn’t apologize. He just sat the bill down and said we could take care of it whenever we were ready. Overall, the ambiance and food were good, but I think there needs to be more time spent on training and table etiquette for the servers, especially Raj. I don’t know if we’d come back if in San Francisco again because of how he handled this special occasion for my mom. Thank you to those who exuded wonderful customer service and thank you to the team for giving my mom a handwritten birthday card! *Please excuse all typos. Sent from my iPhone.

We went to International Smoke for their Thanksgiving buffet and, frankly, I was disappointed. It is given that SF is an expensive city and most higher-end holiday buffets are a little pricey but for $75 a person, I was hoping for a little more than what was slapped together. The BBQ was good, but the staples like mashed potatoes, yams etc were lacking. This was their chance to put out some tasty side but they failed. Expensive dinner, very expensive drinks and I left unsatisfied. I think I'll skip it next time.

We tried this place after rave reviews on-line but were left very disappointed by the food. I was expecting a restaurant with expertise on smoked ingredients but that isn't what this restaurant comes across as. I had the ribs with the BBQ sauce. There was definitely that warmed over flavour you get from meat that had been cooked and then reheated again. My wife had the crab and coconut soup and the cornbread flavour combination really didn't work. Sweet cornbread with a fishy bisque type sauce over it - sorry - some flavours should just not go together. The duck fat fries tasted just like normal fries. The toilets were also very questionable. See through doors? Bordering on the pervy... We've eaten at many great restaurants around the world and given many positive reviews. This place needs a rethink.

Me and my wife ordered the Issa gin & tonic it was good . We also had the cornbread, and the Salmon. I had the pastor ribs so tender a delicious they have a sweet and spicy sauce some of the best ribs I have ever had we also shared the fried rice everything we ordered was really good. Our server was Cecilia she was polite and knowledgeable of the menu she does a great job

We were looking for a good meat / bbq restaurant and we were advised to go to International Smoke’s. We enjoyed New York style rib-eye and also typical American dishes such as the revisited Mac and cheese. Nothing to say about the quality and the tastes, but the bill was not as sweet as the diner!

It is very difficult to reserve this place. Even on a typical Tuesday evening, we had to reserve weeks in advance for a late dinner. It was totally worth it. The meals are not cheap, but they are great!

International smoke lives up the the hype that Ayesha Curry and Michael Mina created when they came together with this project. Welcoming staff, great food, full bar, fun atmosphere. Loved the braised short ribs, pork ribs with Korean sauce, mashed potatoes and Bibb lettuce salad. They comped us the Brussels sprouts appetizer because our entrees took a while to come out. We hadn’t noticed; having too much fun but it was a nice gesture.

I had the Gulf shrimp to start with miso butter and grilled lemon which were really tasty, then not realising how large the ribs would be, ordered the combo rack of smoked pork ribs ‘St Louis cut’ which were 5 enormous ribs of each of the following flavours - American BBQ; Al Pastor; and Sedame-Gochugang. All three flavours were delicious, but there was far too much for one person, so only order a half rack of one of the flavours. I ended up taking a ‘doggy bag’ away with me as they were far too good to leave behind. Good atmosphere inside.
Celebrity/Chef-driven concept: buzzy, fun, interesting menu
We made reservations for International Smoke months before our trip; at least every so often, it's fun to try a "hot" new buzzy place. Located in the Millennium Tower in the rapidly gentrifying Mission District, the space includes a charred wood wall, a long narrow dining room and large bar area. The semi-outside area was lightly populated due to the cold weather. Our server was terrific - we were seated and greeted promptly, water poured and drink orders taken. As with so many new restaurants, there is a lengthily and detailed list of cocktails touching on the many cuisines covered under the concept of "smoke." Be aware however this not a REAL barbecue joint - Q gets a call out with the ribs, with a choice of regional sauces. The New Mexican-styled adovada was quite wimpy compared to what we know and love from Santa Fe and nearby, but the ribs were lean and meaty. All sides are extra, but generously sized. Mac and cheese with smoked rib tips was rich and yummy. On the salad front, the twist on the retro-chic wedge with blue cheese were house-dried tomatoes and lightly picked red onions with the obligatory bacon lardons. We have long loved the concept of BBQ meat over a potato and the carne asada version here was huge, drizzled with crema and hot sauce with a small amount of shredded meat. The baked oysters were hands down the table favorite - meaty farmed specimens out of Baja with a savory crumbed topping, served on a bed of rock salt that is briefed "smoked" at the table for some real time drama. Water and drinks were promptly refilled. If a member of the party visited the restroom, a server refolded the napkin and straightened the chair. We saw TONS of servers and runners and thought the service for this highly-hyped joint effort was really good. I'd suggest as a fun but pricey evening out if only for the cool factor! You can keep the price point down a bit as well by going with a few apps and sides which are generous in portion.
