Over price average Puerto Rican food. Served on side walk in plastic containers . Service not warm. Does NOT reflect real Puerto Rican cuisine. Fibd a better option

Our go to restaurant for all our Puerto Rican food cravings. From the arroz con gandules , pasteles, alcapurias, sorullitos, limbe etc etc. Todo delicioso!

Food was so good. Staff was super nice and was super fast with the delivery of food. I had the mofongo with tri mixture of meats. My kids had chicken fingers with rice and beans and my husband had the pernil

Always full. Means how good it is . Small . Food is outstanding. You can really enjoy MOFONGOS in any way. Though you will find it full, the wait is not more than 15 minutes. I assure you, it is worth it. Asopaos, Rice and beans, PR juices. The service is super good. I have gone myself various times. Reasonably priced. Family type restaurant. The owner is there always. Makes sure you are happy and well attended. I have yet to find something in their menu that I do not like. Pasteles are fantastic, and so are the bacalaitos. I recommend this restaurant any day of the week. Saturday and Sundays you will wait 15 minutes. Outside you can purchase banners and things about PR.

This place is nice! Family atmosphere. Food is good. But, not like anything on the Puerto Rican Island!! I recommendd you try it to satisfy your Puerto Rican craving!!! ENJOY!!!

I wanted to love this place! I am always looking for some good Puerto Rican food. This place looked good to try. The decor inside was really nice and everyone was super nice as well. We ordered alcapurrias and cuajiito which were simply amazing! It was really delicious and I’m a picky eater. I am 5 months pregnant and I was craving arroz con gandules which is rice with pigeon peas. I ordered that with shrimp and tostones, my husband had white rice, beans and pork. I tasted his food, delicious, my rice, delicious... I didn’t get to taste the shrimp because as I was eating the rice I saw something and I put it to the side, a little weird piece of something. I decided to inspect the little piece again and sure enough it was a BUG. I don’t know what type of bug it was because I honestly didn’t want to look at it any longer but it looked like a big cooked maggot! We were disgusted! it seriously was almost an inch long, kinda looked like a caterpillar. I was mortified, I almost threw up! I called the waitress over and showed it to her.. she took it away immediately and came back and said they would change the rice for me. After that I seriously didn’t want anything but I wanted her to reassure me that it was a bug and she did. She said that sometimes those bugs grow from the gandules.... which I’ve heard before but I mean as a restaurant you should be more cautious of those types of things! they said the bill was on them and apologized. We left but then I started to feel sick and worried since I am expecting. I don’t want to be dramatic or anything but this has never happened to me. We went back and asked to take a picture of it so that I could show my doctor but she said they already threw it out. She continued to apologize and we just left. like I said aside from the bug the food was really good, I just hope I don’t get sick after this. If you do visit and eat that rice just be on the lookout. Jan 4, 2018

Excellent food and service, special thanks to Rafa the owner, he cares about customers!!! The prices are very reasonable, the atmosphere very familiar.

This restaurant is TOPS in the business,...If you wish to be treated like a king, not only by the 5 star service but the quality of the food, this is hte place to visit. The Best MOFONGO in town. The best SALMOREJO de Jueyes..

This restaurant's food has truly puertorrican taste. It is so delicious! I have been there several times and have tried their lunch buffet and a la carte menu both at lunch and dinner. The food tastes as the one my mother and grandmother used to cook at home in Puerto Rico, I have enjoyed eating so many good appetizers and entreés. The service is also very good. I will keep returning. The piñón relleno de carne, asopao de gandules, habichuelas, mofongo, carne de cerdo frita, to name a few, are excellent,

Short and sweet...the food was outstanding and the service was great. If I lived in Miami this would be eaten at frequently....like minimum 3 days a week.

I really want to love this place since Puerto Rican restaurants are sadly a bit of a rarity in Miami and the ambiance is great, but the food has left me disappointed and the service (from one male server in particular) is spotty. The chicharron de pollo was nothing but bland meat wrapped in grease. My mother's plantains were undercooked. I had previously ordered their chuletas and that too was a dry, bland disappointment. I do like their beans, acalpuria, and pulpo cocktail. This place gets packed on weekend nights. That there are so few Puerto Rican restaurants in Miami might be one reason why this is so.

Although we are Cubans, my husband woke up on Sunday wanting to eat Mofongo...a Puerto Rican dish. He found Isla Del Encanto on Yelp and we liked the reviews and pictures of their food. We read that sometimes the waiting is over an hour long but we headed out anyway around 5 PM and found that there was no waiting, however, when we were leaving at 6:15 PM the restaurant started to get busy. But don't let that stop you if you are in the mood for some Puerto Rican food. I had the Mofongo with Pork Chops and my husband had the Mofongo with Churrasco. Both were excellent!! The service was also excellent, prompt and served us with a smile. There is Latin music playing at a moderate level but don't be surprised if people sing, dance and make sounds with silverware and tapping on the table. It is a fun atmosphere with great food. The owner was at the restaurant and he made sure to stop at each table and greet old friends and new patrons. He talked to us for a while explaining some of their best and most popular dishes. Everything looked enticing and delicious. We will definitely return. The restaurant is decorated with mementos of the Puerto Rican heritage. Great place!!!

This restaurant was so highly recommended that we had to finally try it. I have to agree with everything everyone told me. This place is just fantastic. We had the pastelles along with the mofongo taino. If we could have licked the plate we would have- just amazing. Service was great, food was delicious and the pricing is amazing. Great meal.

We were really looking forward to eating here. Unfortunately, the food we were served was almost inedible. Perhaps they were having an off night. We are Puerto Rican, and traditional mofongo is made with GREEN plantains. The mofongo that arrived at our table was sweet, which meant the plantains were RIPE. We had to send it back. The odd thing is that they were serving tostones, which is made with green plantains, so why couldn’t they make mofongo with green plantains? My son ordered the churrasco MEDIUM, it came to the table BEYOND WELL-DONE. The arroz con gandules would have been ok, but the gandules were hard. The trozos de puerco was dry and tasteless. We won’t go back.

My visit to this small gem began with heartfelt greetings from no less than three people. Not being Puerto Rican, we were somewhat reserved and did not know what to expect. After being escorted to a storefront window table, various members of the wait staff and the owner, made sure we knew that we would be tended to quickly. In the meantime I could not wipe the smile off my face. It is a family and friends atmosphere that is infectious. You begin to feel like part of a celebration. Everyone was having a good time, while music was playing in the background. The walls are decorated in a colorful mural style of the island of Puerto Rico. There is no mistaking the fact that these are proud people, eager to share their culture with you. The menu is extensive and the waitress explained it to our satisfaction. After ordering, we watched as the entire staff paraded with whistles, noisemakers, straw hats, and clapping to the Puerto Rican equivalent to Happy Birthday. They march to the table of the celebrant and sing to them making them feel special. By the time the food arrived, we were already having a grand ole time and planning a return. Imagine that, planning a return before tasting the food. It is that type of place, we just knew it had to be good, and it was. The mofongo (mashed plantain) is just like the one we had on the island, the pasteles, the pork, the chicken, were all better than good. As a first timer, any entree with mofongo is a good bet. They even serve shrimp with mofongo. I had a fermented drink called Mabí made from tree roots and herbs. This is not for the faint of heart, but it was refreshing and quite different. All that fun and a small price to pay. I can guarantee that you will have a good time and enjoy some typical and genuine Puerto Rican food

The restaurant is quaint and clean. The staff is very friendly and versed in the menu. We ate one of their main specialties which is their mofongo ( mashed green plantains with pork rinds) and the cancan (huge fried rib). The mofongo is my favorite. In regards to the portion's size, they were generous. Since they have such a varied menu, we will return.

This review is not on the food, its on negligence by the owner. Outside they have 4 tables, which on December 14 at 6:30 pm, they allowed a family to eat while they tied to the table a large German Shepard. Well as I walked by the table as I came from my car the dog jumped at me and I had to jump out of the way (lucky the leash was not long and the table almost chocked the dog as he tried to bit me). At first when I reported it to the owner he was like I can't do anything about it. Are you kidding me???? I then informed sure you can that's a large dog and if it had bitten my son which sometimes I bring a lawsuit could have happened. His response, "I have insurance so that's ok". I told him now imagine if I would have had to shoot the dog to protect my son. He goes "oh that's between you and the owner of the dog". No sir!! you allowed the dog to sit there so its negligence from your part. The owner did apologized but at first he was defensive. Well I'm going to write to the shopping center landlord of this incident. If that was a chihuahua no problem but a German Shepard which was like my size and weights like 80 pounds is not safe at all and could have attacked anyone that day.

Great Food All the way! Courteous staff, Fun Ambiance! Pure Puerto Rican Flair! Great place to dine / visit! Will definitely come back again! GetSome!!

Being greeted the traditional Puertorican mode was the key note to an amazing journey. Immediately escorted to our table which was decorated as a traditional island life, owner takes time to go table by table welcoming and checking up on things and even explaining about the new items completely impressed by his enthusiasm and character, food arrives and it was phenomenal! Great amount of food, worth every penny, if you have a chance pay them a visit and check out how restaurants should greet and serve! They are definitely on the right track.

Great PR food! We have been driving by this place for a few years and finally made it in. We had the chicken mofongo and the pork mofongo. Restaurant wad full but the staff did a great job moving people in and out. Will be going again soon!

Went for dinner during a weekday so did not have to wait for a table. Their Menu offers all the Puertorrican “must have” or “antojos” that you might have. Their arroz con gandules was good and their Mofongo was amazing, prepared with the right amount of garlic, salt and oil- very very tasty. Those in our party who tried their trifongo said it was the best they’ve ever had. Sorullitos were great but the highlight of the night was their arañitas appetizer (fried shredded green plantain). Arañitas fried to perfection – a must!

A piece of my island! The asopao de pollo, mofongo con camarones, mofongo con carne frita y alcapurrias! The pastelon and arroz con gandules... Wow! So delicious! Every dish is authentic and so well made! The staff is awesome! It feels as if I am in PR!

Service has been top notch this evening! The Owner is just a LOVE! The ambiance is so welcoming and family oriented. The food was absolutely delicious. Becoming a regular here is quite easy.

Superb Puerto Rican Cusine! A definite must come place! Portions are rewarding and delicious! Staff are fabulous as well!

We arrived after the dolphins game. We waited for like 30 minutes maybe more but it was worth it. We met a couple while waiting so the time passed by so fast. We got to our table and I had a pina colada that was perfect !! Our waiter was Jose and he was very good with recommendations and food descriptions!! The place had a great Alana’s all the dishes had a good amount of food and the flavor was right on. The Alcapurrias were awesome and soft and flavorful haven’t had any line that ever. We had aranitas as appetizer and the kids had chuletas for dinner! The rice with gandules had an awesome flavor!!

Very nice experience. Went around 2 pm and the place was full. Fresh food and great service. The food was really good. Nice atmosphere/décor. Noise level was fine. Family friendly. Extensive menu selection. The pork was ok, and so was the dessert "Bien me sabe".

Isla Del Encanto is so far one Of the best Puertorrican food restaurant, if not the best in South Florida. They have the best mofongo in Miami. Red beans are excellent, alcapurrias de yuca are delicious and, bienmesabe de coco is awesome. It is a small restaurant and is usually very busy. Staff is very friendly, efficient and professional. Restaurant area and restrooms are very clean and, you feel you are in Puerto Rico looking around the decor. It is a place to try if you really want to try some good Puertorrican food.

This is one of the few PuertoRican restaurants I found in Miami. The staff, especially Brenda, made us feel very comfortable and welcomed. The food was amazing!!!!! The mofongo was so hot, fresh, and flavorful it still makes my mouth water. The food is seriously authentic and worth the trip for those foodies that are looking for good PuertoRican food.

This place is great for Puerto Rican food. The ambient, the staff, and the food are great. We went for Father's day last year and we a had a blast. The place is not big but they accommodated our big party with ease. We truly think the staff made a big difference, they really know how to make you feel like home. We are definitely going back.

I love their food, It is always fresh and they are very attentive when you visit. My special dish is the rice with pigeon peas, fried plantains and pasteles. Their desserts are too die for. I also love their sangria and favorite Puerto Rican sodas.

We been longtime customer for Isla de Encantó and absolute fans of their food. However we seen little by little how food quality has been steadily declining. However today was so disappointing that I had to write something to see if owners wake up and go back to basics: Good Food! Today we ordered Asopao de Pollo and it was served very watery and the chicken besides having little quantity it seemed as pulled out of a freezer bag of boneless chicken and just dumped in it. Not the real chicken you get for a real Asopao but 3 small white chunks of Perdue frozen chunks. We have eaten here this before and it was generous thick and good chicken. This was real bad and nothing close to a real Asopao. Gave them 2 stars for the alcapurrias that ever so much smaller, they were still good

I hope this guys grow to a bigger place very soon. Has not had the flavors of Puerto Rico since I was there 3 years ago. We had Avocado salad as apetizer and Mofongo (green plaintain pureé with garlic and chicharrones) with Puerco encebollado (Onion pork casserole) as entree for me, my friend had Camarones al ajillo (Shrimp in garlic sauce) with Arroz con Gandules and tostones. For dessert Bienmesabe de piña. Very affordable and prompt service. If you love latin food don't hesitate to go this weekend. Try 3pm-ish since the place is small and gets full quickly. ¡Buen provecho!

This is a great authentic Puerto Rican restaurant. It is small, so try to make reservations. The wait is a bit long on Sundays', however that is to be expected, because this restaurant is absolutely wonderful. It is small, however the service is great. Try to order the small mofongo in creole sauce as an appetizer and the alcapurrias with meat. My husband had the shrimp asopaou( soup with rice and shrimp) and I ordered the lechon with white rice and red beans. The portions were so large, we took some home with us.We have been to this restaurant 3x and we have not been disappointed. I miss eating Puerto Rican food, which I do cook at home, however it is great to be able to eat at a Puerto Rican restaurant in Kendall

As i was reading all the poor reviews, i have to say that each person is different. I have a great experience in this place, as soon as we arrived they gave us a great welcome and less than 5 mins the table was ready. The taste of the food was awesome a true puertorican rest. The service fast and on point everything was right and on time. You should visit this place.

We took my husband's cousins that are Cuban and they always have loved Puerto Rican food. I was so happy (being from PR myself), that they loved the food, its presentation and that the staff is genuinely from Puerto Rico. What a trip back to my island this was. The music filled the air with singers from the island. Small family place and you definitely forget your in Kendall.

We drove an hour an a half to go eat at this restaurant and what a mistake that was . The appetizer took 40 minutes to get to our table , the food almost an hour and it was incomplete and the rice cold . We spoke to the owner Rafa and he got all upset and told us he was going to go talk to his staff and never ever came back to apologize, no manners what so ever .

Me and my husband go all the time to this restaurant, service is excellent, food is good but we have seen a steady increment in prices and some typical food size has been becoming smaller and smaller. In this las visit we ordered Alcapurrias which are 2 for $5.95, and doesn’t sound bad @ approx. $3 each. When we were served this time the Alcapurrias were the size of a long fat finger, whereas a typical Alcapurrias would be two of these joined. So what is being done is splitting one in two. Clever but believe me it does not go unnoticed by your customers. This is. It a luxury restaurant and pricing and tactics such as can keep customer away. Don’t lose what you started a good typical restaurant with fair portions and prices.

My family and me go to this restaurant all the times and pay with credit card until I found out that they were charging to my credit card three times a month after I went there. After my husband called the restaurant they told him a story about charging the tips that were not charged during the restaurant visits, but they don't know that my daughter keeps a copy of all the receipts in the house. When we compared the receipts with the credit card statement, everything was paid already including the tips. We had to cancel the credit card and filled a fraud report and wait until them investigate. Is not the first time that I have to cancel the credit because someone is using my account number. After my husband went to the restaurant and explained to the co owner, he said that they knew that this is happening but didn't offer to solve the problem or credit the money back. If you pay with credit card, go and check your card statement after many weeks because that's happening. I have a big family and use to go there to eat and celebrate all together but I don't trust that people anymore and I would not go there again. .

Isla del Encanto has only been open for about 8 months but the food, the service and the Menu reflects years of experience. All of the servers. including ours, Branda R, were extremely friendly and efficient. They have many of the typical dishes that can be found in a good restaurant in Puerto Rico (not all of the dishes because there are just too many). They have Mofongo (mashed plantains) stuffed with about 8 different menu items ranging from pork to lobster. They have different seafood dishes and typical deserts like flan and flancocho. I ordered the conch/octopus salad and my wife the buffet which had ribs, lasagna PR style, garbanzo beans, salad, etc. for under $10.

This restaurant has the best And most authentic PR food in Miami. We go a lot, everything is delicious. The mofongos are great, but my favorite is the "Pastelon". A PR version of Lasagna made with fried sweet plantain layered with ground beef. The portions are huge and the prices are very reasonable, service is very good, but its very busy on weekends. Highly recommend this restaurant.

This is our second time here and it's still delish! I came a few weeks ago with my boyfriend for a friend's birthday and we had to come back! The food is amazing and the staff, excellent! I can't stress this enough, best Puerto Rican spot in Miami, hands down!! Sorry about the pics, we couldn't hold hack from diving in before I remembered to take a pic! It's close to the pike, so pop off on you're way down to the keys!

Wepa! This restaurant keeps this Puerto Rican sane, when I just *need* mofongo. Everything from the warm reception from the restaurant owner himself, to the decorations (check out the typical Puerto Rican phrases on the tablecloths and the selfie-friendly wall on the way to the bathrooms). After Hurricane Maria, they opened their doors to volunteers and collected all kinds of goods to send to the island. They have live music on the weekends, and they just recently opened a second location. I haven't tried them yet, but they sell "limbers"! ...it's like being home for a little bit. A lifesaver, if you ask me!

For the second time I have to say that this restaurant has the worst service in Kendall. They are always short of staff and this creates caos when the place is full. If you really want PR food, don't go during peak hours.

A very pleasant surprise with authentic Puerto Rican dishes. The mofongo is exceptional and the lunch buffet is great.

Where to begin? The service was outstanding, and the food was very good! I cook and eat out Caribbean Cuisine. Everything was fresh and well seasoned, and the waiting staff was pleasant and invested. A real diamond in the rough.

Visited this restaurant for lunch and was surprised how tasty everything was. It transported us to the Island of Puerto Rico. Prices are at market range - affordable. Wish we had more personal service but sometimes you just can't have it all. The flavor of the food was so good that we already forgot about the waitress. I recommend it. We will visit it again when we come to the area. Try the "Flancocho" dessert it is out of this world. Overall an Awesome experience. Kudos to the guys in the kitchen!

My family is visiting all the way from New York City when we arrived to the restaurant waited before anyone acknowledged my self and my family, then when finally someone attended us we are a family of 6 the table available was a table of 8, we asked to be seated there and the employee stated no, she then over looked us and continued rudely on talking to the people behind us. She was very rude and unprofessional and did not even try to accommodate my family which consisted of my 2 children my 62 year old aunt my 88 year old grandmother and my cousin. We were extremely disappointed and disgusted.

The appetizers are fantastic and the Moro go is perfect. We also shared two desserts that were delicious. Authentic PR food…chuleta KanKan and moro go!!

Isla Del Encanto is one of the best authentical Puertorican food restaurants in South Florida. From mofongo to arroz con gandules and pasteles, they have a good variety of authentic island food. Very good and friendly staff. Plenty of parking.

Food was good but the place is tiny and long wait to get in; there is a table outside the restaurant that sale souvenirs as well as ethnic products from the tropical island. Salsa Music playing all the time, and once you get to sit down, you will be delight by the variety of items from puertorrican cuisine that you will be able to enjoy there are pasteles, exquisite seafood, morcilla, mofongo and arroz con jueyes.

Title says it all! Servers were attentive and not to the point of annoying. Food was amazing! You get really get your money's worth (see pictures below). We had to take so much back home in our to-go containers. I wanted to go back a second time before returning home but was unable too and will be looking forward to my next trip back to Miami.

Everytime I drove by this restaurant it was full. I had to try it. I find out it serves Puerto Rican cuisine and get excited that it is something different in the area. So I went on a Sunday and my first encounter is with a rude host. A young man (pretty boy) who wanted to sit us by the front door and crunched up with no room to sit because the table behind took up all the space. We asked for another table and he got upset and walked away. There was three other tables available but he was upset that we did not want to sit by the door. So we waited about five minutes and he was not going to sit us. We were seconds from leaving when a sweet waitress walked up to him and asked about us waiting by the door. She immediately came to us and gave us a table. She was very friendly and within seconds all the waiters were bringing us menus and water. We ordered an appetizer called alcapurias de carne which were awesome. It came with a side of spicy sauce. We ordered for the main course mofongo. I ordered pork chunks and my wife ordered shrimp. We also ordered a side of their famous rice. The meal was delicious and something different. We ordered a rice pudding desert at the end of our meal which was sweet and tasty. I was very impressed with the friendly service and excellent food. A few minutes into us looking at the menus the owner of the restaurant walked out from the kitchen. He was all over the place making sure people waiting by the door got seated. He was taking plates to the back and wiping down tables. He walked around the entire restaurant talking to everyone asking them if they enjoyed their meal. This owner has a positive and great attitude. He was joking and hustling all over the place. What a shame our first encounter was not with him. Lastly I we saw the staff putting on straw hats and walking to a table with a dessert. They began to sing happy birthday and then a Puerto Rican version of it. The entire restaurant was singing and the atmosphere was lively and fun. We had a great time and great food but I was very upset my first 5 minutes there. That is the only reason I didn't give this restaurant 5 stars. That employee is in the wrong line of business.

Excellent typical food from Puerto Rico More than ten different mofongos offered Dont forget chuletas a la can can best puerto rrican food in miami

My in-laws invited us to dinner and they wanted to take us to Isla Del Encanto, where we had never been. We arrived and waited about 25 minutes to be seated. It's a small place, maybe 15 to 18 tables, so that's a normal wait in Miami. However, from there it was all downhill. It took our server 10 minutes to greet us, so that was a bad omen. We ordered, and most of our choices were already cooked. Things like rice with beans, beans, etc. My wife only ordered appetizers. My daughter ordered a shrimp creole style dish, also pre-cooked. The only good thing was the young man serving water and checking on us. My grilled chicken was tough and chewy and dry, the rice and beans barely warm. My daughter's twice fried plantains were cold. My father in law's rice and beans were cold as were his plantains. My plate came out first, with my daughters. Then 5 minutes later my father in law's. Then ten minutes later my mother in law's. Then ten minutes after that, my wife's appetizers. Her food was at least hot. 45 minutes for mostly pre-cooked food. I didn't finish mine, and everyone else left food on their plates. No apologies, no explanations, just brought the bill and left. Inexcusable. I can guarantee that's the last time we visit this restaurant.

Great place, great food. If you want to try real puertorrican food just go there. Small place but service its great. Try the mofongo.

My wife spent her early childhood in Puerto Rico and our trip to South Florida was her chance to find food that brought back those good memories. She was not disappointed. We arrived at 8:15PM on a Friday night and the place was packed when we left. We had numerous people (all working at the restaurant) helping answer our questions (we were obvious since we were the only "Anglos" in the place) and make suggestions. The down side was we ate too much because there was so much good food. Mission accomplished.

Had lunch at this new Puerto Rican restaurant for the first time today, this recently opened establishment is located at the former site of an Italian restaurant. It is a wonderful addition to the shopping plaza. Small and pleasantly decorated with paintings of a Puerto Rico of bygone days, it is very authentic in the food that it offers. A small and casual place that is very friendly and inviting. It was obvious from the moment that you walked in that something very special was happening here. The aroma in the air was one which transported me back to my early childhood years. They have an excellent buffet offering which offers a very good variety of island dishes at the reasonable price of $9.95 which includes soft drinks! But the real magic happens when you look at the menu and realize that many of the offerings are ones that are rarely seen on menus. I had fried codfish fritters that were light and tasty. My companion had "Asopao" which is a rice and piegon pea stew with little dumplings of ham. He said it tasted just like the one his mother use to make when he was a kid. Mind you he is 87! So that's one heck of an endorsement. I has the buffet because I wanted to try a variety of dishes. I was not disappointed. For dessert I had Tembleke ( a light rich coconut custard) which I last tasted over 20 years ago. I cant' wait to come back, highly recommend this place!

Puerto Rican restaurant in a strip mall. Delicious. Music, murals and souvenirs compliment the place. Traditional dishes are good. They have a lunch buffet; variety not so great, it's very limited (due to lack of space) Staff and service are good. Prices...well, if you don't cook and can't hop on a plane anytime soon, it's not too expensive!

I have been here several times and the food is amazing. It's like being back on the island. From the service to the food and drinks, it's all good. My favorite is the trifongo with seafood, AMAZING!

Natural from PR, but visiting from NC, we were seeking Puerto Rican food; something we can't find around here. We happened to hit a jackpot. We love the food here and we wanted to order everything in the menu, but settled for alcapurrias, tostones de pana, and mofongo con churrasco. Yum!!! sabía a piñones!! My thoughts were immediately transported to Mi Islita. I would recommend this place to anyone, but keep in mind, it gets crowded. Buen Provecho!

This place is great. They have delicious food and fantastic service. We love going to eat there. The servers make you feel like family. We highly recommend.

Excellent atmosphere. Typical food awesome variety. More than 10 varieties of mofongo Best pinon in Florida Excellent service

The worst customer service in a Puerto Rican restaurant in Miami, FL. you can find it in this restaurant, I order my food to go, first the manager takes the order wrong, she forgets to bring me 2 empanadas that i ordered, she charges me for everything else, she then tells me that she will place the order for the empanadas that she forgot, I waited 30 minutes for something so simple, after waiting that long she comes to me and asked me if I needed anything, I asked her for my empanadas and her response was that I didn't order anything. What kind of customer service is that????? I want to give them no stars at all because I believe that for me to wait a total of 50 minutes for a simple order one star is too much, now I have cold food in a bag and an incomplete order. With that manager that business won't last long.

The best Mofongo. The best Puerto Rican Food Flavor of my island in Miami . Mofongo with shirmp, conch, fried meat, Variety in the Menu. Alcapurrias, Bacalaitos. Of all the great taste and Variety.

We had driven by this place several times and tonight wanted to eat food from Puerto Rico. Unfortunately it was not near what we hoped it would be. Service was slow, the staff was lost and people had to wait too long for a table. The food was not that great either and it was expensive for what we ate. At one point the chef “who we think was the owner” walked out of the kitchen to address a complaint from a family that had been waited to be seated while the restaurant had 4 or 5 empty tables and after he took care of them had to stay on the floor to sit other customers. We do not recommend this restaurant.

While staying in Kendall Florida recently my wife and I were looking for a place to have lunch on a very rainy Saturday. We found Isla Del Encanto in the strip mall where a Publix grocery store we were shopping in was located. The last time I had authentic Puerto Rican cooking was when I was visiting my daughter's boyfriend's mother in Puerto Rico. As well as the restaurants we ate in while we were there. Other than the food my daughter's boyfriend cooks for us here in NYC, I never thought I'd find a place that serves this quality of Puerto Rican cooking here in the USA. I'm sure there are others but I have yet to find one even here in NYC. Isla Del Encanto delivers the goods. The Mofongo Con Bistec and the Alcapurrias De Carne were as good as any that I've had in PR. I went back a week later and had the Shrimps in garlic sauce with yellow rice and pigeon peas, amazing! Just like eating on the island. The staff speaks very little English but I had no problem getting my order understood. I'm sure if I lived in the area I would become a regular customer. Bueno!!

Came across this Puerto Rican spot in Miami close to the hotel. Great taste, variety, and price. Would recommend hands down.

I am a true Puerto Rican female who is proud of your heritage and let me tell you I went to this place I was in shock! The Authenticity of this place it's amazing! The flavor was on point the mofongo was moist... hands down the best place to eat Puerto Rican food!

This neighborhood Puerto Rican Restaurant is excellent. All the dishes we have tried are great. Portions are big, the service are very attentive and genuine. I feel like I’m visiting relatives when I go there. It gets pretty packed on weekends, reservations are highly recommended. The owner Rafa is always there making sure everyone is taken care of. Highly recommend if you like Puerto Rican food.

Simply Fabulous Food! They Are Expanding Their Locale so Seating is Limited. Our Plates Were Superbly Delicious & Satisfying! Will Return Soon to Enjoy Their Live Music When They Complete Expansions! GetSome!!

I came here with friends I hadn't seen in a while (I live in NJ) and they suggested this restaurant. I had the Mofongo with Steak and it was delicious. The steak was flavorful and tender, the Mofongo was dense, but not heavy. Everyone enjoyed their meals as well. Top it off with a cervesa and friendly and attentive staff, and it made for a very pleasant dinner.

My wife wanted to visit as she had heard about it and the pasteles. It's a small place so expect to wait s little if going on the weekend. We did wait some me but were seated fairly quickly. I had the pasteles, my wife had pionono and her goddaughter had chicken. The waiter at first was very attentive. The staff seems very friendly and eager to please. In terms of the food, I was expecting a little more. The portions were quite generous as I would expect from a Puertorican place. I felt that the food was a bit bland. Not terrible but certainly not what I'm used to. I didn't expect mom's cooking but thought it would be better. Maybe they were having an off night so I'm willing to give the place another shot.

This place is excellent to get your Puerto Rican fix. Nothing negative to say and the food is always great. What ever you choose, mofongo with shrimp, chuleta kankan, its all very good. The place is a bit small probably for the demand but it does not disappoint.

Great place to enjoy Puertorrican cuisine. Service was outstanding as well as the food. One thing you have to beware of...prepare yourself to get completely full😂

I took my wife for a birthday dinner with the kids. We were promptly sifted with a smile. I told the waitress about our celebration while we ordered our food. My wife and I had the mofongo with shrimp in red sauce (salsa criolla). The mofongo was the real deal, with chicharron (pork rinds) and freshly fried plantains. We had the sampler for starter and the kids enjoyed the beef and cheese empanada, while we enjoyed the crab alcapurrias. The flavors were authentic Puertorrican. For dessert we ordered the coconut bienmesabe (similar to tres leches) while the waiters sang the birthday song with plena tambourines with a bomba rythm. Great food and excellent service.

Yesterday, Monday, December 26, 2022, my wife and I went to this so-called Puerto Rican restaurant because yes! we are Puertorriqueños and we loved our cuisine, as well as other countries but our experience in this so-called restaurant, was terrible and out of training; as customers, you expect to be treated equally as any other customer expecting to be impressed with the service offered, not in this case (I'm very sure others who has come to this Cafeteria as experience the same we did experience yesterday ); lack of professionalism the food took too long to be served and when was served was cold the table was not properly set up, no water no silverware and no one comes to ask us if we need anything, my wife had to eat what she orders without any silverware and my order took too long like they were cooking it, and I noticed that other customers who came after us were served, so this is when it got very professional from the so-called waitress who was serving us she got very upset when I told her that I did not want what I ordered, so then she sent another waitress to talk to us instead she have the professional courtesy to come us. I hope your business grows and wish you all best but to do that you must improve your service. Note: To the waitress who was sent to our table instead of the one who was serving us, we thank you for the professional way and gesture you handle yourself it's too bad your profession is being stained for those who called themselves professional. Yes, We will make sure we Do Not Recommend this Cafeteria to anyone

Always a great choice for true ethnic food and flavor. Flavor as in ambiance. Went on a Friday night and the had music and singing. Just fun.

We were in Puerto Rico three weeks ago and eat at Barachina The home of the piña colada. The food was really very good but this food here is as good or better. The owner greeted us at the door and is a real gentleman. We have never met him before but he made us feel like family. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting authentic Puerto Rican food.

I had an hour before I needed to see patients in the clinic and my wife and I decided to grab a quick lunch in the area. The restaurant who usually go to was still closed for renovations so we looked around and thought we had never had Puerto Rican food so lets give it a try. After being seated we realized besides the menu they had a buffet. We decided to go for the buffet. It was a small buffet as the restaurant is small ,but there was plenty of selection and the food was good. Besides our waiter a man came to our table asking how everything was who I assume was the owner or manager. Hem made sure we were happy and if we needed anything. It was a nice quick lunch but that was very good in a nice relaxing atmosphere. we will eat here again wehn we are in the area.

Had lived in Puerto Rico but never really ate local food except pastelitos when at school and bacalaitos when going to the beach. That was the limit of my local culinary experience. Place was clean and the owner and or manager seemed very hands on. The pastelitos were the taste of my youth. They are empanadas with a puerto ricane twist. The bacalaitos or cod fish flat mix were not really good. My wife was very pleased with the mondongo. The pork was just so so. Not a very memorable visit. But I do plan to return.

It is the second time I visit this restaurant of Puerto Rican food with its typical island food prepared in exquisite form that reminds us when we visited the island and tasted exquisite and varied dishes. The service and attention is efficient, the portions adequate and normal Miami prices. I recommend this place to taste the food of the Island.

We have tried most of the items on the menu and have not been disappointed wtih any of them. We have even ordered "catering" portions for NocheBuena and been very happy with the quality of the food. Mofongo is AWESOME!!!

This spot offers consistently outstanding Puerto Rican cuisine! The dishes are authentic, flavorful, and always prepared to perfection. The restaurant is impeccably clean, and the service is attentive and friendly, ensuring every visit is enjoyable. On top of all that, the prices are fair, making it a great value for the quality. Highly recommended for anyone craving a true taste of Puerto Rico!

Visiting from UK and found this place by looking on TripAdvisor. We went late afternoon with 2 adults and 2 small children - food and service was great

Second time we go and always beyond pleased. Food is amazing, restaurant is vivid and hustling and service is very friendly. I go there for their Pastelon... my husband loves their Mofongo...you just can't go wrong. If you are a large group be prepared to wait a short while for the place is small.

As someone of Puerto Rican descent I was very exited about a restaurant so close to home offering Puerto Rican cuisine. I went with my hubby the week it opened and sadly food was mediocre. Fast forward to last night ——being the holidays and all wanted some pasteles. I ordered pasteles, rice etc for takeout and the food was FABULOUS!!! We were so happy with the quality that we are ordering food for Christmas Eve. Keep up the amazing food.

We went last Sunday, was pretty full but the service and the food was really good!!' I have Alcapurias for appetizer and Mofongo Marinero for main dish. The plates are huge and the flavor is awesome. The place is small and they close early (8pm on Sundays) but the food and the ambience is great!

I can't give it 5 stars because I consider it to be extremely overpriced. Just to compare I can eat a 4" diameter mofongo (can be shared between 2 ppl) with fried pork in GA for $10, in Kissimmee for $8, and Isla del Encanto the cheapest is $13.95 with a tiny mofongo no bigger than a coffee cup. However, I had their tripleta sandwich today for $8.95 and I was impressed. It's so big and stuffed you can share with someone else. The food is very authentic in flavor and love the ambience. The music, pictures, and decals transport you back to the island.

Isla del Encanto has mastered the art of cooking PR food in many levels, the main reason, no deveation from original recepies and the use of true fresh food items. As a traveler I've been to countless eateries, boutiques, franchise and classic restaurants, IDE goes above and beyond in making your eating experience a great one. So far everything I have eaten there is outstanding and I can order without using the menu, they are that good. Keep up the good work and you will continue to have success in the kitchen.

My husband and I went the first time on a weekday and we did enjoy. The problem is during weekends. It gets extremely full and the "host" who seems to be the owner according to the pictures and is supposed to call by the list of names calls by who he knows first. We've been a few weekends and every time is the same. We're told that the waiting is 20-30 minutes and we spend more than 1 hour waiting, watching everyone that came after us been seated and when we go to ask we're just told they are cleaning the tables. By the time we're seated we're bothered so after 3 weekends, it will be the last time we visit this place.

What a great find!! Joshua our waiter was amazing especially knowing it was our first time and not Puerto Rican. It's definitely the kind of place Puerto Rican's come to for authentic and delicious good. We ordered the mofongo for two which had a trio of grilled steak, fried pork chunks, steaks and fried small bone in chicken all lean cuts and non greasy. But if you like yuca the yuca mofongo was exceptional. Top it all off with a cold beer. Unbeatable.

Fourth time here. Never fails. Authentic and fun. Even the owner dances as he watches every detail. From appetizers to dessert. A plus!!!

Great Puerto Rican food in Kendall. Their Mofongo with fried pork is delicious & so is the steak. Guineitos and Pasteles for appetizers we always have. My favorite is their Piñon de platano, layers of fried sweet plantains, with ground beef and cheese on top. Everything there is good. Portions are big and very reasonable prices. The service is very good and servers are very nice and pleasant. Weekends are very busy and there is a wait, but they take reservations.

After a 40 minute drive we arrived and asked for a table for 2 and told the waiter I wanted a table in the back. Mind me there were over 6 open tables. The waiter went to get the owner who told us that we had to take the table for 2 because the others were for 4 and in 10 minutes the place was going to be packed....I was nice I am not usually nice when I smell idioticy......and said Gracias Buenas tardes and gracefully left...now my questions are....if the table for 2 was taken, I would have to wait for those patrons to finish even though there were open tables?, do you know how much my table of 2 was going to spend in your restaurant? Maybe more than a table for 4.....well this just confirms what I thought the first time the alcapurrias were raw in the middle and the octopuses salad had too much vinegar oh and the arañitas they looked like potato sticks....now the second time the alcapurrias were burned. This was my third and last.....now for those of you that want good service and good food go to Pekaditos Old San Juan it is excellent all I have tasted here is on point.....delicious and the service is exceptional......peace out....

The service is out of this world excellent, the staff incredible, friendly, warm the food is to die for it is delicious, the restaurant its always full but the wait is worth it try for our self you wont regret it....

Great service, the owner is in top of you asking if everything is ok. I asked for Mofongo and the truth is that there was not different than a Cuban Fufu de platanos. The pork chunks were burn. Good to visit but don't expect to eat real Puertorrican food as it taste the same as any Cuban cafeteria the names are just Puertorrican names.

We have never been here before. The owner halfway through our dinner came out and talked with us, explaining the differences of Cuban food and Puerto Rican food. The waiter was super nice also. The food was fresh and had a lot of flavor that we have never had before. Everyone enjoyed the meal. We will go again.

The food is really good I recommend the tostones de pana. The oven roasted pork w red beans and arroz con gandule. Thanks

My husband and I ate there on Friday October 18 for dinner. This is our first time going there. Located in the corner of Publix shopping center so parking isn't a problem. When you enter you will notice that is nicely decorated with a big mural of the Island and many other Puerto Rico items. Very clean and family atmosphere. The host's was very friendly in welcoming us. The best part is the food it was amazing. Authentic Puerto Rican food the taste and flavors everything was so well cook, arroz con gandules, mofongo, Chuletas Khan kan ,pasteles, tostones, and seafood soup we had for dinner . If you really want to eat authentic Puerto Rico island food this is the place. i highly recommend it. We will definitely come here again.
West Kendall hidden gem
