We passed by on a Sunday late afternoon for some ham croquettas and cafe con leche. The food was very good. We sat at the cafe bar.

Went by an parking lot was packed. We went to host and were seated immediately. They added the store that was next door and now they have another dining room and larger outdoor seating are. I had the criollo breakfast that included their famous ham croquettas. Was a good experience. Will return soon.

Had lunch. Their media noche is delicous as well as their mariquitas. They also have a good selection of soups and salads. Service was very good.

Best croquettas in Miami! Their crema de malanga and crema de calabaza are delicious. Breakfast here is a must. Friendly service and clean Cuban atmosphere.

Enjoyed a late lunch with a client recently. Much quieter than their namesake counterpart a few blocks away on Coral Way and featuring many more dessert pastries. The lobster ravioli was quite good, as are the croquetas they're known for. Excellent were the number of pastries we tried. The chocolate eclair the cheesecake flan and the combination chocolate mousse. We also had "cafe con leche" which they serve with the milk separate from the coffee so you can add as much or as little as you like. Our waitress, although not fluent in English was extremely polite, friendly and helpful to my German client who speaks no Spanish. The restaurant is located at the end of a long shopping strip with plenty of seating inside and outside and lots of parking as well.

Last night my son and I ordered dinner through their drive-through. We paid at the second window and we told to drive ahead and park and wait for the food to be brought to us. We waited for 45 minutes for our food to get to the car. We drove home, which will live very far away. My son was missing his Tostones, I was missing my Moros, I asked for extra lemon, I received none, they gave us a bowl of white rice, which we didn’t ask for, etc....I understood people can make mistakes, but here’s the issue. I called the restaurant and asked for a Manager to inform them of what happened.....the lady that answered said...”sorry but he’s not available since we‘re closing And hung up. I called back again, they answered and would just hang up. I later sent an email to them informing them of what happened and no one has cared or has reached out............shame! Food is good but really disappointed in their lack of interest in reaching out to their customers to correct mistakes! I never expected them no to make an effort!

It never seizes to amaze how tasty the cuisine is here. Nothing fancy but well worth visiting. Typical Cuban food plus plus plus. Last night we had seafood Ceviche ,a glass of Chardonnay and a nice piece of bread pudding. Other nights we have typical Cuban food. Tomorrow lets see! Enjoy

THey have a large selection of Cuban Dishes, abundant servings, usually good fast service, the croquetas are the best in town, buy some to take home

They have the Best Churrasco Steak, and also their palomilla Steak, and Black beans. In a Ten Restaurant Croquette Contest they came out Number One. Reasonable Prices, a lot of Good Food Served.

We went for breakfast today with the family and enjoyed a great inexpensive meal. All breakfasts come with cafe con leche and Cuban toast. Ask for the French whole wheat toast.... it tastes just like the regular Cuban toast and is a healthier option.

This little café serves excellent Cuban food at reasonable prices. The service is excellent as well. I haven't tasted anything here that falls short of delicious - and believe me, there is plenty of competition in Miami when it comes to Cuban food! My family and I regularly stop here for breakfast, lunch or a late bite, and have never been disappointed by the food or the service. This quaint place also serves a variety of delicious pastries and deserts. I give it a perfect 10!

They are the BEST croquetas but do not order the Croqueta sandwich they give you only one croqueta in the sandwich, it's more bread than substance. I should have done what I always do order the Croquetas and eat them at home. I still recommend this place and will continue to buy my favorite Croquetas

The cafe is just down the street from the main restaurant, but don’t be fooled. Their menu is just as extensive. We ordered palomilla steak with a side of congris and fufú. We also had the pork chunks which came with 3 sides. While the pork was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, the palomilla steak was ordered medium, but came over cooked. Minor setback was rectified with a complete new order. The beer selection was not extensive but nice and cold. The “cafe” was as good as I️ have had. Check it out. Nice relaxed ambiance with casual feel.

Whant some good Cuban food? Islas Cantarias is one of the best in Miami. This was our second time (June 25, 2015) we enjoyed dinner with the family while visiting Miami. Both time we love the delicious and enjoyable time. Aside from the food were had a wonderful waitress who was very cordials and attentive to our time there. Can't wait to return for more.

Drove across from downtown Miami as we'd heard that Anthony Bourdain had been here. Wanted to try the Cuban Sandwich, but we were hungry and the full dinner dishes sounded excellent, so we had Paella, and a stuffed chicken breast - both excellent. Very friendly service. Ate too much, but came back the next night for our Cubano sandwiches - also excellent. Want to come one more night before we leave Miami.

Fried croquetas were not done . frozen yet. Spanish omelette very bad taste.no well done. This restaurant had change since a year to now. Bad service

This is my go to in Miami. Consistently good Cuban food. Nothing fancy, not nouveau , just good Cuban food. The garbanzo frito and the croquetas de damon o pollo, are the best. And always finish your meal as any good Cuban, with "un cafecito"..

Their croquetas are unmatched. Soft ham filling. Nice and hot with saltines and of course café con leche or cortadito.

Get your pocket ready if you are planning to eat here. Insulting fried rice at $19.00. Small portions and expensive menu in the middle of a bakery, situated in a low-key shopping center.

I started with a great cafe con leche! I ordered a chicken sandwich with swiss cheese and "papitas julianas"- it was very good ! My husband ordered carne con papas, good too!

We went here because it was featured on Parts Unknown with Anthony Bourdain and boy are we glad we came. The food is amazing. My wife ordered the same Medianoche cuban sandwich that Tony got and she loved it, whereas I got the pork chop with tamarind sauce and it was delicious. Got got two mouse desserts to go as well and they were spectacular, light and smooth. We highly recommend this establishment.

Service can be lackluster but the food here is always good.. And the croquettes are the best in the city.

We stopped here on vacation after visiting the Everglades. This was probably the best food we ate on our whole Miami vacation.

We visit this restaurant (it's not a cafe or just a Bakery anymore) once a week. There is a huge improvement in the quality of the service, the food, and the decoration. They have new offers, and the positive change is evident. I am glad to have a site like this one close to home.

My son and I ate here and enjoyed paella and beef with lime/rice. The portions of the paella were huge! I am not a large eater and there were easily 3 portions included in the bowl. Authentic cuban food, nice waitress and would definitely return to try other dishes!

The food is delicious and they always are adding new plates to the menu. The waiters are very friendly. The place is a little small and always packed but the service is fast so you do not have to wait long. Good for all ages!!!

Simply, the food is not good. We were 3 people and none of us liked the food. A waste of money !! Croquetas were awful !!

The food here is amazing, the staff is friendly, love it there. Order the chicken Tia Maria or the Pork chunks.

I had a terrible experience at Islas Canarias Bakery this morning. I placed a takeout order over the phone and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes. I arrived 20 minutes later, paid for my order, and was then told my toasts were "almost ready." After waiting another 15 minutes, my entire order had gone cold. When I asked to speak with the manager, Adilis, she informed me in an unfriendly manner that they had run out of French bread. This is poor management. If you're running low on toasts, don’t prepare the rest of the order first. Very disappointing.

Excellent food, service & price, best croquettes in miami. The service was awesome very professional and beyond awesome the quality of the food based on the great prices

Went with a few friends. Disappointed that so many dishes were unavailable. But, overall food was very good. Service was a bit slow. They make an excellent Vaca Frita.

The place is huge, the food is good, price is high, but service is poor. Take forever to bring water and bread to the table. Also to place an order and be patient for you food. I spent Mora than an hour and 25 minutes for lunch. Very disappointed

I have visited this restaurant many many times. I can say that it is packed always which says something about freshness, flavors, and price. There are so many items in the menu you will have a hard time choosing one. Check out the daily specials first of course and come hungry. Their portions are big!

Islas canarias cafe food taste like it was prepared at home. The staff is always very friendly and attentive to your needs. They also make Cuban pastries and all sort of sandwiches. On Sunday mornings is a little crowed only because the breakfast has a variety of things to pick from.

This is our local breakfast spot. They make a great little breakfast complete with croquetas and cafe con leche. This is a great spot to go with the family for a yummy meal. They are open for lunch and dinner as well.

This is an upscale cuban restaurant with reasonable prices. The food is of good quality and presentation but what makes me come back to this restaurant every time is their excellent customer service. You feel at home and welcome from the moment you arrive. Even though they always busy, they immediately notice your presence and welcome you. They are very efficient, their service is always fast. They bring you good quality bread while you wait for your food and they and they bring more bread if you eat them all before your food arrive.

The service at this location is great. The breakfast is very delicious and served quickly. Their croquetas are the very best in Miami. If you are in the area and have yet to try the croquetas..... you must so and get one. I love this please. Let me add, they are very clean.!

Service is amazing! And so is the food. First time here, and it did not disappoint. The quality of the food tasted so fresh, one of the best Cuban restaurants in Miami I have been at so far.

This is by far one of my favorite restaurant in Miami, I visit twice a month, I even took my boss for lunch a few weeks back and she loved the food, the service and specially the bakery goodies! This is a 10 for me!

We went there to have dinner. She had the camarones enchilados. The shrimp were very big and tasted really good. I had the steak milanesa without the tomato sauce. I have to tell you that this steak was humongous and enough for 2 people. The croquetas ar ethe best in Miami!!. Will definitely be back

Never disappoints. One of the best Cuban restaurants in Miami. The service is always great and the food is awesome, always a great meal.Stop by you will love it

I had the "tostones rellenos de picadillo", very good! Good portion and tasteful. My husband had the "pan con bistec (steak sandwich)", good, but not that big for the price. Overall, food and service is good. Fyi, awesome chicken soup!

Had another amazing family meal here today! Almost as good as Abuela's home cooking. We had masas de puerco, yucca, arroz blanco y frijoles negros, puerco asado, and more! The flan and cafe was the perfect ending. Service was attentive if not effusive.

We love having dinner here. They have great seafood and dinner specials. Their fries are to die for!

We had breakfast and it was delicious. This was our first time there and will definitely return. Great service.

Food and service very good, price is good also high recomended we order vaca frita and salmon a la naranja and was amazing, also the flan of coconut was very good and to close and cuban coffe, the bestg

Now with two locations in the Kendall area, there is no excuse not to go. The places are quintessential cuban restaurants, beginning with the food, following with the attentive service and finishing with the patrons. I really enjoy going there as much as going to Versailles in Little Habana. I will definitely come back again and again.

We ordered a couple of croquettas before dinner and they were amazing as always. I had the corn soup with white rice and my wife had the pan con lechon. The food was really good.

The food has great quality and for what you pay you get plenty. I'd suggest that you get croquetas as an appetizer, they are the best croquetas in Miami.

The menu is varied and the quality of the food is excellent. The service as well is very good and friendly. The place is always packed. Its very cosy and warm. Good cuban traditional food but also has some italian and peruvian dishes. Excellent desserts made on the premises. Highly recommended.

We went on Christmas night to get a quick snack. We had the croquettas (oh so good) and a media noche. The food was good but the server was nowhere to be found. The place was not full at all.

Well, I placed an order for pickup (in Spanish nonetheless) & they couldn't even get that right. At first when I walked in to the pickup area, there must have been a thousand horseflies on top of the Cuban bread & dinner rolls being served to the customers (I watched as the waitress shooed the flies & put the bread in the basket). I ordered 2 simple croqueta preparada (croqueta, cheese and the little fries THATS IT). Got home & opened the bag & ended up with the croqueta, 10 slaps of ham, no cheese, no papitas AFTER the server reassured me she checked it & it was right. So upset not even bothering to go back. Went to the dogs.

Server never understood what my wife was looking for in term of food temperatures and how to be done. Nothing else besides the ordinary. Noticed lack of training and food acknowledge. I'll like the decoration and the ambience .

Have been there several times and the food is always good as is the service. Had the oxtails in wine sauce today along with black beans and rice. The portion was large enough for another meal tomorrow. My husband had a Cuban sandwich and our friends had the king fish. Everyone was very satisfied.

Since moving to the Kendall area of Miami last January this restaurant has become our favorite! They have amazing authentic Cuban dishes and something for everyone! My dad loves their salmon and my son loves the shrimp! Check this Miami institution out! You won’t be disappointed!

We were surprised at the size of the new place. It used to be just a bakery. Now its a full blow restaurant. Food was great (croqueta sandwich was fantastic). Service was good. Of course they have the best croquetas. We'll be back.

We like to have breakfast in this restaurant at least one per month. The food is really delicious and well done, the portions are big to satisfy any appetite. I definitely recommend this place to anyone wanting to have cuban food.

For what it's worth, I'm a 52 year old, Cuban-American. I was born and have lived in Miami my entire life. I've had breakfast everywhere. This is the best Cuban breakfast I've ever had. I sat at a tight counter. My food took a while compared to the people around me and I had to send back my Cuban toast because it was not buttered. I wasn't being a pain and I could've added butter myself but that's just not how it's done. It's like getting a pizza without cheese and then having the server bring you a side of cheese. I had two eggs, bacon, two ham croquetas (homemade and best in Miami) and crispy shoestring fries. It was served with the toast and café con leche. I asked for American coffee instead and was charged extra which I thought wasn't proper but whatever. The food itself was perfect. There are so many menu items you just don't see in other Cuban places like egg and garbanzo dishes. It's a hike for me but I'll be back.

Authentic cuban food bakery serving a great selection of typiall cuban dishes. Their croquetas are the best in Miami.

I have been here several times and its getting worse every time I go. We ordered and they brought the food not the way I requested it. I told the waiter and he went back to the kitchen and yelled at them. The avocado that we requested was not ripe and very hard. We ordered a cafe con leche and the spoon they brought me was dirty. I showed the waiter and he through it at the sink in the back. This is a very unfortunate experience and they may have lost a regular client with all the competition here in Miami.

This is a good place for breakfast and lunch, if you are not in a hurry and you don't care about a non professional service. Let me be clear; I like this place, but waitress have not idea about what they do, or what are they supposed to do. I think that the price justify any other gaps. Do not ask for wine, you are gonna have a bad experience. But overall I had good ceviche, sandwiches, and breakfast.

I am still stuffed from my breakfast at Islas Canarias Cafe. Everything looked so good that I could not decide. I had the pastelitos de carne, empanadas, tortilla and media noche. Delicious!!!

Stopped in on a Sunday morning to pick up the croquettes Cuban bread and some pastries. Tge line out the door is out of control but croquettes are worth the wait.

I've been coming here for years not only for their great Cuban food but also for their ham croquetas. Even though I live an hour away I order their party platters for our kids' parties who love their ham croquetas and pastelitos de cheese and guava. Yesterday I put in an order for 150 party sized croquetas. My husband picked them up. Today, as I'm setting up for the party, I noticed he came home with 2 trays of 50. I know he loves the croquetas but I doubted he had eaten 50. Obviously, they mistakenly gave him only 2 trays instead of 3. I was worried they would give me a hassle since a day had passed. However, I was transferred to Xiomara, the store manager. I explained the situation. She confirmed I had paid for 150 and promised to have the extra 50 available in just an hour. She was wonderful. No hassle at all. Highly recommend both their food and excellent customer service. Thank you Xiomara!!

Excellent food and service. I have been here regularly since my first visit. Always great!!! The bakery is fantastic.!

Amaizing food, their croquetas they are to dye for......The service is ok, they good do with abit more kindness....

Hands down they have the best croquettes in Miami. I get them about once a week. My kids love them, service is always good a fast, prices are economical and large portions. A definite must.

I had a small tamal en cazuela, but should have ordered the large. I savored each spoonful, I did share. Also ordered pernil sandwich on a media noche and it was yummy. It was 1/2 hour from Brickell but worth the trip. Thanks davidsbeenhere!

I walked in with a good attitude gave my name and asked how long is the wait. The host said I don't know and said ok so how many people do I have in front of me and he said you want to leave with attitude and I said I was counting the party in front of me but if you want to cross me off the list I'm out. I will not return here. I've been coming to Isla for a very long time but I don't need rudeness because they don't want to work not my fault I will not be back.

The best of the best, this restaurant and its most helpful and excellent waitresses. I hope to return soon with my family.

This place is always packed in the weekend. The service is good.. The outstanding croquetas is what keeps us coming back for breakfast. This is a local place where everyone knows good food good prices and good service

We placed an order of sandwiches for pick up; a media noche, a cubanito wrap and a steak sanwich plus 2 side orders of fries; all that for $40. The media noche and wrap were ok, nothing extraordinary; the steak sandwich beside costing a whopping $11 it was bad, the sandwich was thin, no lettuce, no onions; definitely not worth the $10.95 they charged for it. See attached picture, you be the judge. There are other places in Miami that make awesome steak sandwich for a few dollars less.

Love that they have a vegetarian option, love the ambiance, food and decor! Very private booths and great service.

My visit was on the 26th of December. The restaurant was full of people as always. Good and service was good as always. The only thing was many items or meals we asked for they were out of, so we had to order alternatives. This is the first time this has happened, so keep that in mind if you go there during the holiday season.

I work next to this restaurant. I am here pretty much every week (multiple times a week). I usually sit in the bar area or order to pick up. Then bar area is fantastic! The servers are always very welcoming and on top of your order and drinks. However, the few times I have sat down in the main floor to have lunch, they have always disappointed!! They can be rude, do not stay on top of your order so it can take long or you have items missing, don’t bring you water, don’t listen when you ask for things to go, don’t smile, always have a sigh or sense of “I don’t want to work” attitude. I just don’t understand. They have seen me come in for years. Say hi to me for years and even then they can’t show a little more enthusiasm when serving. It’s ridiculous! But I must say again, the bar area is definitely the winner!! Lourdes and Belkis are so helpful and eager to serve. Love them.

The food is delicious at a very reasonable price. The ambient is very family oriented and excellent service.
Wonderful breakfast!!
We just discovered this wonderful restaurant, and plan to be regular customers. We like to go out for breakfast, and this breakfast was absolutely outstanding and delicious, and at a fair price. The customer service was excellent. The place is very clean, spacious, and without any blaring TV or noise (as is often the case here in Miami). We will definitely return, and often!
