I love this place. I am not a huge wine fan. The proseco is great. I love the apricot nectR with it. They have good happy hours. The owner is very friendly and sweet. He mashed everyone feel special.

This was a great place. I really enjoy meeting my friends here. The owner Al is fantastic. He introduced me to a new drink, which I loved. Unfortunately, I don't remember the drinks name. The only thing I know is that it is like a bellini, but with apricot juice instead. delicious. They have happy hours from 4- 7 pm and have food put out for you to nosh on.

Wonderful experience. Food was great. Service was timely and prompt. Lobster ravioli was excellent. Calamari as an appetizer was equally as good. Great wine list. Exceptional cocktails. Tiramisu was the best I've had in years.

Excellent menu with varied choices. Numerous choices for vegetarians. Staff is friendly and owner is on hand and involved. Would like to see an expansion of his market choices as I miss the selections of his previous venture. Will return many times to explore the enticing menu.

Great service Great food A superset of piemontese cuisine, but that's to be expected, and appreciated. Good drinks Good interaction with the owners and hosts Thank you for a great night. We'll be back soon.

My siblings and I chose this restaurant for a last minute family reunion dinner. The staff were really friendly and attentive and we chatted with the chef about Italian food. The food was ambiance were excellent.

Everyone welcomed us as we walked in. Even some guy sitting at the end of the bar- i think it as the owner. Excellent service. Pasta done al dente with delicious sauce and shaved parmesan. Chicken with procuitto - winner winner! We'll be back.

Food was okay. Not the best Italian cuisine I’ve ever had. Great wine list and staff was efficient and friendly.

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious lunch. I had a creamy vegetable soup and clam linguini. My husband liked his Caesar salad and small pizza. The atmosphere was great.

It’s not even close to Italian. The soup made from Ossining Bucco broth was great, but the smallest portion imaginable. I ordered it with sausage, and the sausage came on a side plate. What?? DIY?? Three different attempts at pasta dishes were dry and tasteless. The sautéed spinach was shredded and boring. Would have been better going to Dominos across the street. Worst dinner in months.

Every year my family and I enjoy an Italian meal and a toast to our departed dad who was a "paisano". We raise his favorite toast: "Here's to our side!" It's Italian Cucina was the perfect spot for this celebration of life. The wine selection was lovely, and we had a half price bottle during happy hour. Cocktails were also good! We all had something different and each dish, from chicken marsala to a variety of pastas were terrific. Our server, Dre, did a great job. The owner thanked us upon our departure, and we shared photos of our dad, who would have loved this place. We went on a Wednesday, nice and quiet. I believe weekends are booked and busy, which would also be a fun vibe there on S. Lamar. Will absolutely be going back to It's Italian Cucina in the future.

Had brunch in this Italian restaurant in the retail space of a South Lamar condo. The food was good, perhaps over-priced. The spaghetti Bolognese seemed to to be homemade pasta, delicious and unusual. Not many diners when we were there, I hope the place catches on.

I love this place/ they have delicious moscato here. I got the beak but shoukd have gotten the clam sauce . The mussels were huge avs delicious. The owner assays comes over abs becayse we were celebrating he gave us free champagne. I got orange juice with it and I will come back. Wish the parking was better, though.

A friend had gone on and on about how good this Italian Cucina is. We went there on a Sunday for brunch. The service was excellent in that it was polished and prompt. Bottomless Mimosas from noon to 3 pm Sat's and Sundays enhanced the enjoyment of their Salsicce Omelette ( mine) or the Pasta Colazione ( my friends shared this dish which won kudos for the all-around excellence of this dish). We determined while we were there to attend their pair tasting meal the following evening. " It's Italian" holds paired tastings intermittently. The next event is the Feast Of The Seven Fishes on Christmas Eve 2018. It is $50 per seat only. I will bring four people to that meal. While the breakfast was not pricey as such, the paired tasting was $100 per seat and it was a large group setting where the main floor was filled with a u-shaped table. Each dish was served with matching wines. The wines and pairings were very high quality both as to taste, match, and basic, plus cooked quality). These guys have well-justified confidence in their culinary and wine skills. The house provided a knowledgeable wine master whose knowledge of Italian wines was at least very impressive. The Chef is deeply experienced. Many think restaurants are places where you abate the pangs of hunger, others look for a memorable dining atmosphere plus great food. The latter especially should seek out "Its Italian" on Lamar.

This has to be one of the best Italian places in town. I've read a lot of "best restaurants in Austin" list and this doesn't show up in any of them - not quite sure why. It's located right on S. Lamar with, amazingly, a large free parking garage nearby. It's pretty unassuming and the place itself is somewhat small but the food was delicious, our server was excellent, and the atmosphere was nice and quiet. We started things off with a cocktail (the Negroni Bianco for me), the foccacia & olive oil, and the Antipasto Misto (cold cuts & cheese board). I had the mushroom risotto which was amazing. And we rounded it all off with the tiramisu and cannoli, both of which were to die for. I came here with friends but I imagine it will make a good date night place as well. We'll definitely be back!

Good food, pricey by honky tonk standards, but this is a sit down nice place. Good educated wait staff and a wide array of drinks are available. The food is well prepared and quite tasty.

We had reservations at It's Italian Cucina and arrived early, so we were directed to the bar, where we ordered drinks while waiting on our table. The young lays behind the bar was helpful, friendly, and efficient. She was a delight. When shown our table, we were pleased with the service. The food was delicious. This was an enjoyable dining experience.

My wife and I visited Austin in October and took at Uber to get to the restaurant. Uber drive got lost, but that's another story. My wife had the Chicken Marsala - yum - and I had to try Di Mare: Ink pasta, shrimp, scallops, squid, and spicy marinara. The ink pasta intrigued me and I really liked it. I wonder who first thought of mixing in squid ink with the pasta dough? Two great meals, very nice service. Next time we are in Austin, we'll be back.

We found this "trattoria" a very nice place for dinner. The service was attentive and the food was delicious. We'll be back on our next trip to Austin

It's Italian Cucina is a new restaurant owned by an experienced restauranteur. We made reservations for 7 p.m. on a Saturday night. Reservations weren't necessary although the restaurant did fill almost to capacity by 7:30 p.m. My companion had the Il Giardino mix green salad, which came in a generous enough portion to share with me. The menu is planned as a first course (pasta) and second course (meat) style. I wanted only pasta so I ordered Fettucini al Tartuffo, truffled pasta with porcini cream and shrimp. Delicious! and the perfect portion for me. My companion had the Vitello Marsala, veal with sautéed with mushrooms and marsala wine. Because his plate came with no pasta, I shared some of my fettucini with him. Both dishes were delicious but in I recommend that if you cannot eat both courses by yourself and you have a companion, you should share a pasta dish and a meat dish to get the full American expectation of Italian food. My companion likes bread and missed having bread served with the meal to sop up the marsala juices. And unfortunately the restaurant was out of the Sauvignon Blanc wine that evening. We drank the pinot grigio wine, which was a bit too sweet for my tastes. The owner Al stopped by our table to check on us during the meal.

This is not the best Italian food I have had, but it was very good. The staff was fantastic. There were 27 people in our group, so the logistics had to have been a nightmare, but it seemed everything came out fine. The antipasto plate was one of the best I have had, and the gnocchi was very good. My wife said her linguini was a little hard, but I thought it was al dente and just right. I would return.

Easy free parking; easy location if you don't need/want to be in the middle of downtown. Food is good (not great). On the pricey side for what it is.

Saw article in Austin paper and visited it today. Small place, excellent Italian wine selection, as well as all kinds of imported Italian foodstuffs. Wines on tap from a "house-associated" winery, I believe from Sicily, all were quite tasty. The owner is gregarious to say the least, and we had a great time.

Food was good-average. Portion size of mussels small. No kids menu. Servers very attentive. Overall-another moderately priced restaurant in Austin.

My brother and sister-in-law took me to It's Italian Cucina for dinner on Sunday evening. The service was outstanding and the food was very good. This restaurant has a good selection of wines from which to choose. Outside seating is also available. This was an enjoyable dining experience. While apparently not necessary on Sunday evenings, reservations are recommended the rest of the time at this popular Italian restaurant.

Absolutely outstanding authentic Italian cuisine in a sexy, enchanting, vibrant atmosphere. An absolute must dining experience in Austin, Texas!
Northern Italian in Austin TX - Quite a Suprise
I was incredibly surprised to find a menu with so many northern Italian dishes in Austin, which tends to be a city that leans more toward fusion or deconstruction rather than regional Italian fare. We were pleasantly surprised by the arancini, and my breaded pork cutlets in a wine and mushroom sauce were fantastic. A great meal at a restaurant that has some room to improve in terms of service and timing, but really has the basics nailed down.
