I usually never write reviews on Restaurants , however the food at this location was phenomenal !!! To say this was average or mediocre is an understatement, we chose to be seated indoors and Nando warmly welcomed us as we sat at the bar and watched the magic happen. We ordered wine , sushi and a Ceviche to share between 3 of us. A cesar salad with the most intense flavors was the start to our lunch followed by Torrejitas De Choclo ( to die for) the our sushi followed along with complimentary desert of mango type ice with cream . All the flavors complimented each other and after our meal I asked our family which was their favorite and we all thought they were equally outstanding!! We are visiting from Texas and just happened upon this restaurant for lunch and it far been a favorite of our trip so far and we have dined at high dollar restaurants. I would highly recommend this on your to do list while in the miami area or design district!

Each dish was creative, fresh, and tasted amazing. Presentation was also great, with friendly service. Shout out to Alexa who answered all our question in detail about the wine list, preparation of each dish, and where everything was sourced. I'd definitely come back.

On the see and be seen courtyard of all the designers you have and haven't heard of, this place fits in. There is a real Japanese-Peruvian food connection (ie Nobu) with both giving a lot of space to raw seafood in various forms. If you are open-minded there are some good dishes, but if you are expecting traditional Japanese, despite the name, this isn't your place. Unfortunately for us, we started with the best dishes, tiraditos in very interesting presentations and were very impressed. Next was a ceviche: very generous portion, but fish overwhelmed by the peppers. Although we have no aversion to spicy, it detracted in this case. Worst for last, a mash-up of cooked scallops in a parmesan cream sauce over sushi rolls. Well, we gave it a shot.... Small menu seems to change often. Very kind young server on her third day who was really present. Expensive.

Prob the one of the best restaurant in Miami. My fiance took me here on his birthday, and it was definitely a good decision! We’ll be back for sure!

When I read reviews I was unsure if I would like this restaurant, as it looked like a trendy place without substance, as many others in Miami. But fortunately I was wrong, I was extremely happy. We sat outside, which is already very nice. The courtyard is a place for many people for photos, so there are constantly people making selfies and many of them are fun to watch, so it is a great place for people watching. But what was outstanding was the food. I was really impressed by all dishes. The ceviche was top quality, the oysters excellent, the tuna tartar also outstanding. And the dessert to die for. Really one of the best meals in along time, and in particular for Miami where most restaurants have no clue about food. Service was very friendly and attentive, also here I was surprised as in many places in Miami service is bad, more attitude than quality, but again Itamae convinced me fully Conclusion: I highly recommend Itamae for food lovers.

The food was great. Our server (David) recommended the cebiche and bowls. Food was incredible and service was great. Can't wait to return.

Enjoyed the unusual and delicious menu this week. What a friendly and enthusiastic team of chefs and staff. The passion oozes from it! If you are really looking for a special experience then this restaurant is a must. Thank you for a lovely evening

Impeccable food and presentation! Went for New Year’s Day lunch and had a wonderful time. The octopus dish and the ceviche are a must. Would go again!

Ok, what can I say about Itamae that has not been said already? Run, I repeat, run do not walk to get a table here. Would I invent a new category of stars just based on this restaurant? Yes. Would I take all other reviews I've ever written down a star to impart just how FIVE stars this place is. Probably. It was so good that we came here TWICE for lunch during our 3-day trip to Miami. Everything from the fish, to the sauces, to the beautifully, meticulously prepared vegetables was beyond words. You can't skip dessert --it would be criminal. And of course, the service --every single person in the restaurant was so kind and welcoming. Chef Nando --you and your team truly have made something remarkable --It is truly an *honor* to have eaten here.

Canceled our Rez and Steered us to their other Restaurant with a b.s. story that their restaurant was closing due to rain. There was no rain and they steered us to their other restaurant which we decided to do because it was Saturday night and we didn’t have a reservation without. Our 2 daughters were expecting sushi and were very disappointed with the other restaurant which was Cevice only. Seems the restaurant overbooked and wanted their other place to be just as busy. Messed up our plans to enjoy the design district and put us in midtown instead. Very weak! But that’s what they did. Treated us like sucker tourists

This is a wonderful outdoor restaurant, with great food in Miami's Design District. The service, food, and ambiance make this a favorite.
Fantastic
I've been to Japan and Peru so I can say without a doubt that this is a wonderful experience on all fronts!
