Post thanksgiving shopping took us to University Village. Unsure of where to eat, we asked a sales clerk who did not hesitate to say Joeys! We got in Within 20 minutes and asked for outdoor seating which was very comfortable in a large enclosed space with open windows and overhead heat. The food was great and service was wonderful! A must eat is the crispy mashed potatoes! They were fantastic!!! So happy for this recommendation!

Had an early dinner so it as not that crowded. Noise level was good for an open bar restaurant. This is the flagship location so they have some unique menu items. Our first time here and service seemed very slow and drinks took a long time to come out. Ice tea tasted like it as from the fountain ( maybe Coke brand tea) rather than fresh brewed. The food we had was very good. Miso ramen and market farm salad. Both were Very good and had their signature rotisserie chicken. Would try it again

My son and I had a fantastic experience at Joey's this evening. We didn't have reservations, but were seated upon arrival at 5:10. I ordered the panang prawn curry bowl, as o had ordered it before and loved it. It was a bit spicy but the flavor is so delicious that it is something that can be overlooked with the white rice. My son ordered the ravioli lobster with cream sauce and was still hungry (college guy). Thankfully, he was able to order two appetizers for half price as he got his order in before 6:00. Upon our servers request, he ordered the sushi cones and the tuna tacos. Both were fabulous. One of the highlights for us was the wonderful service we had. Our waitress Gazal, was cheerful, accommodating and was a great conversationalist. Couldn't ask for a better evening out with my son. Money well spent.

Bad experience with three hungry Kids. Waited 45 minutes for a table. The Girls at the reception were pleasant but our server rushed us to give our orders and then we waited at least half an hour for the food which was mediocre at best. The service was not very pleasant and told us when we asked why it was taking so long “ the whole restaurant is waiting for food. Never again!!!

Always have a reservation this place is super busy but even so we waited for about 20 minutes they brought champagne and hors d oeuvres. My husband and I ordered our usual nachos ( seemed smaller) but delicious they forgot the avocado but gave us some on the side. We love it here totally recommend it!

Actually this place was our second choice but , was more than happy that we ended up in the place for dinner ! The food was great, the service and yes the servers were also great ! No wonder this place is packed !

We were looking forward to eating here with our family who were visiting as we heard great things from friends. However, each person who ate shrimp got really sick. I emailed and called to inform the restaurant but had to leave a message for the manager to call me back (never received a call back) and my email went unanswered as well. The shrimp was clearly bad. We will not be returning.

It was an impromptu lunch after visiting the amazon bookstore. I was initially after a large brunch with scrambled eggs but was surprised on what they offered. There were a few mains, burgers and sushis to choose from. I had a panang curry with prawns. The vegetables and prawns were looked like it was grilled first before being added in to the curry. They had the right amount of coconut milk in it. The chardonnay that Britney recommended was also what i was after. Overall a nice experience at Joeys, especially now with all that sunshine.

Service is great and very friendly. The atmosphere is that of a Sports Bar. If you know the area it is similar to Earl's on the Eastside. As to the food, the sandwiches seem to be their forte and also the asian fusion dishes. As to the pasta, it is barely ok.

Pleasant wide ranging menu. Had the grilled Salmon salad. Salmon was prepare properly, slightly crisp on the outside, moist and juicy inside. Many places deliver this dish way too dry inside. Menu feature lunch dishes ranging from shared plates to sushi to wraps, burgers, steaks and pasta. Service was slow, but pleasant. I personally found the way they concealed the prices to be off-putting. My salmon had a very faint, tiny 17 1/2 at the end of the description. Well, I was suppose to know the price was $17.50. Just say so! Very noisy, making it hard to visit with my friends; the purpose of getting together.

We have now been there three times for lunch, and each visit has been enjoyable. The servers have always been friendly and full of energy, the décor is open and fun, the property has a nice buzz to it and the food has been prepared and presented well. The menu is diverse and every dish we have experienced was quality. My UW student requested it the last two visits, but it is a lunch location I prefer too. For those with sophisticated palates, there are definitely menu selections you will savor. We plan to go back in a few weeks.

A great spot in University Village. Service has always been spot-on. Love the pork dumplings and the lettuce wraps. I’m always happy when I have a reason to visit the village as that means lunch at Joey Kitchen. Thanks!

I ate at Joey's a couple of weeks ago with friends. I ordered the Katsu Chicken Peanut Salad for $22.75. I was extremely disappointed. The chicken was inedible. The dark brown skin was so overcooked and hard that I couldn't eat it. I tried to take the outer layer off, but it was very difficult. I managed a few bites of the chicken and it was so overcooked it was inedible. I thought, "Oh well, I'll just enjoy the salad. " Wrong! Although I ordered a peanut salad, there were only 2 small peanuts in the entire salad! I love tomatoes, but there were only 1.5 (three halves) tomatoes in the salad. So, basically, I spent $22 on lettuce greens with shredded carrots on top. The service wasn't great. We had to ask for water refills, and my friend ordered a 2nd drink and the waitress forgot to bring it. I liked the atmosphere at Joey's, but unfortunately I won't come back due to my negative experience.

We wanted a light lunch, and what we got, two small fish tacos each, were good, but not great. One of the pieces of fish in my taco was a shrimp, so not much care is taken in the kitchen about individual orders, one assumes. And the fish itself was probably the least tasty part of the taco. A short pour of malbec at $10.50, and a draft Stella at $7.50 seemed a bit more that one would pay elsewhere. Good service. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice decor.

Food was pretty decent, I had the tacos and they were flavorful and plentiful. The service was a hit and miss felt rushed and it was a warm day and we sat outside and they had the heaters on which we didn't realize for a while. I think they food is good, just need to tighten up a little on service.

Being a family with varies types of being either vegetarian, lactose and/or gluten intolerant it is always tough to find something soothing for everybody. Here we were right. Lettuce wraps are awesome and we can recommend the Veggie Burger as well as the Hand pressed Burger. The fries were thin and excellent. and the service was friendly and fast.

We walked into Joey Kitchen for lunch while at University Village (an open-air mall near the UW). As soon as we entered through the revolving doors, we liked the inviting casual ambiance and layout. A huge circular bar had six TV screens overhead, broadcasting sports events. Customers could sit at the bar, on stools at high tables, in booths or outside on a patio. The hostess seated us immediately at our choice -- a booth -- and a server brought menus almost immediately. Offerings proved to be eclectic, ranging from sushi to steaks. I settled on a mezze plate ($13), which consisted of red pepper hummus, tzatziki, feta, marinated olives and crisp pita. I liked the combination but did not consider it to be anything special. My husband devoured his three fish tacos ($14) and rated his meal "very good." The tacos contained Basa (a type of catfish), shrimp, avocado, tomatoes and lettuce. Sauce came on the side and was quite hot. He does not like "hot," so was happy that the sauce had not come already on the taco. It was 3 p.m. when we arrived, an off-hour for lunch, but the place was quite lively with customers. The restaurant obviously is a draw at the mall. I can certainly recommend it for those shopping at University Village, but I would not make it a destination restaurant.

Good menu choices. A little on the pricey side for the entrees. We stuck with appetizers. Booth tables are very wide. Could be 6 inches less in width. With the noise, almost shouting at your table partner.

Funky restaurant in University Village patronized mostly by young people. Portions aren't large so a meal is rather expensive. But I loved the salad I had with grilled chicken (no grease) in a Japanese dressing. Nice servers, very efficient. But do not go if you want a quiet conversation.

We had a three-year-old with us and seemed to have plenty if room and privacy in our booth. We didn't have to worry about annoying anybody. The staff didn't seem to care. The food was better than okay, and the prices just a little inflated for the quality. All-in-all, a good meal. Would return.

The place is large, new and located in a new shopping center. The look is sort of like a chain but the food and service are better than you'd expect. The menu is a bit confused but everything is nicely presented, balanced and not over-portioned. Try the dip trio.

We had here a couple of times while in town with family and the food was delicious! My favorite was the filet mignon with their crispy mashed potatoes, my vegetarian cousin loved the lettuce wrap and cauliflower wings, and my mom had the ravioli with lobster sauce. I especially enjoyed the free champagne they gave us as we walked in the door for dinner each night! If you are looking to dine in U Village this is a great place to go! Only drawback is the music is a little loud and can make conversation difficult if you have a large group.

I like the atmosphere. Starter Caesar salad was one of the most understated and bland Caesar I have eat. Not worth $7.50. The hibachi wings were good, nice little subtle kick to them. My friend enjoyed his rainbow roll. Drinks were good. Price wise the dishes should be elevated as far as flavor and substance. Willing to try out more dishes upon another visit.

This is very overpriced restaurant and it has very small portions. However they have friendly staff and service was good

We tried to go to Din Tai Fung, but with the 3 hour wait we went downstairs and got in here with just a 15 minute wait. I was craving the dumplings, but was ok with giving the $17 Miso Chicken Ramen a try. It was very good, I wouldn't usually pay that much for ramen, but it did have nice flavor. The others in our party enjoyed their dishes too, overall the food was good but a little pricey. We all had room for dessert so we grabbed some ice cream a couple doors down after dinner.

Delicious! Complementary champagne upon arrival. Dog friendly in heated glassed patio. Good food. Great service! Great ambience, and large tv for football fans. We loved it.

Everyone is so attractive, but there is always someone with a snobby edge. We love the Korean cauliflower and the dumplings! Very nice snack with a nice glass of pinot gris in the afternoon. Easily accommodated our large group with short notice. Had the wings with the cauliflower as an appetizer. Good stuff!

This was a very good place to eat. Service was friendly & they very attentive. Nice modern decor inside & out. Awesome outdoor eating areas/patios. The fish tacos very good!

We went to the restaurant because of the long wait at Din Tai Fung, and it turned out to be a great place to have dinner. They seem to serve all kinds of food, Japanese, Spanish, American, and we ordered about 8 dishes including gyoza, paella, ramen, steak and sushi, and all of them turn out to be good choices.

The food was very good, and reasonably priced. Maybe it's for a younger crowd because it was very noisy. The wait help was very friendly and accommodating.

We wanted to watch the Husky football game as well as the finish of the Wazzu vs Oregon State game. When we walked in we were greeted by Amber and asked her for a seat in the bar to watch the games we wanted to see and Amber was awesome. She looked at the seating and not only did Amber seat us at the table to satisfy our game request she gave us a glass of champagne! Joeys wings are awesome and a must try along with the fries. The U Village has a lots of places to eat but if you want quality games views and food and drinks and customer service then check out Joeys and make sure to try the wings. Be patient when trying to find parking.

great wings...I've eaten here 4 times while visiting Seattle this past year...everyone raves about this place, but I just don't find it worth the money...yes, the wings are really good...the entrees are very average...I've had steak...I've had sushi...I've had tacos...I've had burgers...and I still walk away thinking, "This is my last trip to Joey's." I will give them credit for outstanding service...really nice staff...very personable...also a great atmosphere if that's what you like paying for.

Came here after a Husky's game with a group of 4. Shared the fried Korean cauliflower ($10), Hibachi chicken wings ($13)and the lettuce wraps ($12) for starters, all very good although the wings less to my tastes. Even convinced the skeptical teenagers to try the cauliflower and they admitted "it wasn't that bad". I had the Veggie Burger ($15) which was good but I really don't like the skinny fries that Joey's serves. The others had the California Chicken Sandwich ($15), and steaks of various cuts/prices. All up with around 2 glasses of wine and 6-7 beers, including tip the bill was $270. Not cheap but great atmosphere after the game.

I came here for the first time the other day. The staff was friendly, good vibes in the restaurant, and clean bathrooms. My only complaint would be that there was a nasty smell lingering around that my friend and I happened to notice. We ended up moving from one side of the bar to the other (thinking it was a dirty rag used where we were sitting or something) but the smell was still lingering from the other side. I'd like to give this place another shot in hopes for a better experience based off of the other great reviews on here.

Some friends treated me to lunch here recently. It was fun to start with a glass of bubbly. With all our chatting, our server finally told us to just stack our menus when we were ready to order. Upon type recommendation of friends, I had the Ahi tuna sushi roll. It was delicious. Another had the sushi cone which was fun. The chicken noodle curry bowl was also well received. The restaurant treated me to a dessert so we shared the donuts in a marscapone/ lemon curd sauce. Delicious!

Too expensive for what they serve, food was just ok, nothing special or out of the ordinary. Service was good tough.

We had lunch at Joey’s Kitchen in University Village. The salmon was absolutely delicious!!! Our daughter & son-in-law had sliders, which they both enjoyed. Since we had a 6 month old, we sat at a table near the bar (by an open window which was wonderful) so we wouldn’t disturb other diners. Our waitress was friendly, and service superb! Great place to enjoy a delicious lunch!

First of all the address listed with Trip Advisor is incorrect. 2603 NE 46th, University Village. I hesitatingly ordered Steak Frites having been terribly disappointed at two other well know mid-priced French restaurants. The steak arrived prepared as ordered, simply seasoned, nicely grilled. Fries were the really skinny kind, which I prefer. There was a small arugula salad side with a simple oil and vinegar dressing. All in all it restored my faith in steak frites. I will definitely go again. Paired it with a simple regional red wine. I unfortunately ordered the chocolate souffle which seemed a bit too sweet for my taste.

Love this place!!! So impressed!! If you have haven't been make sure you go. Atlee and the team's service is on par with El Gaucho's and the place is so cool!! Go go go!!

Wow…. 30 minutes to get a drink. Very pricey. Not the first time we have had this experience here. Shame on us for giving them a second chance.

We had a large group and were accommodated splitting up at the bar table and a Table in dining room for under age. Service great - very accommodating. The food was unexpectedly excellent! We had a variety of appetizers and entrees and all were enjoyable.

Quick dinner with the family. Big booths that can accommodate a whole family in a fun and vibrant atmosphere is what you can expect. The service was spot on and friendly. The burgers are big and juicy and the three fish tacos were full of fish fried shrimp and guacamole. Lots of good choices on the menu to try the next time we go back.

On Black Friday I wanted to watch football and my wife and mother in law wanted to shop. Joey Kitchen was a great spot to do both. Cool sports bar with an upscale feel. Great food and drinks.

First time, bellied up to the bar and had the best server, Aspen waited on us like we were royalty. Birthday di ner to remember. The chicken lettuce wraps were a great start and the New York steak with blue cheese butter was amazing as well as the Yellowfin Tuna salad was absolutely spectacular! Busy place but well worth the visit. We'll be back for sure!

In visiting friends in Seattle, we went to Joey Kitchen on 46th Street as part of a shopping excursion to University Village. It was a rainy day and ducking into Joey was a delight. The atmosphere is warm and friendly but with lots of natural light. The menu is extensive and there's something for everyone. We tried the Korean fried cauliflower and it was delicious. Could have eaten just that for lunch. I got the salad with ahi tuni (med rare) on it and it was excellent. Light, but filling, tuna cooked just right. Delicious dressing and sauce on the side. Several others got the chicken sandwich and it looked really good too. I recommend this restaurant if you are coming to University Village. It would be good for couples, friends, bringing your parents, families. The prices are very fair for the quality of food. They have a couple of tv's for those who want to keep up with various sports during lunch too!

Had lunch at this trendy place. Pretty good food and hip atmosphere. Attractive waitresses (pointed out only because they obviously want a certain age and look) who were attentive (not in a Hooters way). Huge variety on their menu. Steaks, sushi, nachos, sandwiches, you name it. Higher end and stylish place worth a visit.

My daughter and I decided on Joey Kitchen for a late lunch while I was visiting her at UW. From start to finish, the service was over the top friendly. I had a delicious Farmer's Salad and my daughter had the California Chicken Salad. We can't wait to return as there were many great menu options!

JOEY seemed to have a well organized system in place to handle Covid dining. A large, clear tent that’s open on 3 sides, tables spaced apart, with heaters and good lighting. I’d recommend making reservations online during the holidays. Servers were very attentive, and my Butcher’s sandwich (french dip) was very good. This is not a place for inexpensive dining, but worth it.

I ordered the Indian food Butter Chicken. It was delicious. The customer service was great. The decore was amazing. My table was at spectacular location. I will certainly return.

After taking a beautiful nature walk through Ravenna Park, we dropped down to University Village and lunched at Joey Cafe. I'd reviewed this about a year ago and my impressions remain unchanged. The food is very good. I had the Tuna Tataki, which is sliced ahi tuna served with avocado slices and papaya cubes topped with serrano chiles -- a delicious, light lunch. My wife had the Beach Salad, which features grilled chicken. The food preparation and presentation has an individual touch to it and pricing is a little high, but appropriate. Service remains leisurely; you should not worry about getting in and out quickly. The owners have really put a lot of attention into the fine points of the decor. The design of the restaurant and furnishings are special. If you are seated in the sun room, you will find it is an open air patio when the weather is nice. If you are not wearing sun screen, you'll need to find the shaded seats.

Fantastic food and great service. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening. We took our grandson who is a student at the U and he thoroughly enjoyed it also.

I confess - I was in a very bad mood when I walked in the door for lunch today. Then Lydia handed me a small glass of sparkling wine and I was bowled over by the warm service of her and Addison. It is very rare when a lunch at a restaurant can significantly boost your spirits. This warmth and the delicious food turned a very poor day into a great one. I would highly recommend this place.

We went with our 2 year old grandson. He loves the slides, the fries and the Asia pork dumplings and so did I. My wife had a delicious burger and good fries. The service was outstanding. The food came out fast to please our grandson. I would recommend this place to people who have children.

Good food and great beer selection. We ordered the teriyaki Salmon and it was absolutely fabulous and we also ordered the tuna sashimi and it was ok. Hamburgers were very good, service was hit and miss but good overall and the desert was worth trying. Will go back.

I stopped at Joey Kitchen for lunch while shopping at the University Village outdoor mall and could not have been happier with the experience. The service, food and ambiance there combined for a most pleasant stay. When I walked into the big, casual dining room at 2 p.m. on a weekday, I was amazed at how crowded the place was. Customers sat at booths, tables and the bar, with many people looking at sports events on big TVs, scattered throughout the room. The noise level was high, but this did not bother me as a solo diner, because I did not need to communicate with anyone except my server. She proved to be exceptional. For example, when I ordered a veggie burger, she asked whether I had eaten one there before. When I said, “No,” she proceeded to list all the myriad ingredients and ensured that I was fine with everything before placing my order. Her upbeat manner was infectious, and I found her to be attentive, despite the number of customers she was responsible for. The veggie burger arrived, taking up half the big plate, and a huge mound of delicious French fries filled the other half. Four sticks pierced the burger bun to hold the contents inside. The homemade patty, filled with tasty ingredients, came piled high with a variety of items, including cheese, greens, red onion and lots of avocado. This was the thickest veggie burger I’ve had anywhere and definitely the best. I never thought I could finish it and planned to take half home with me for another meal. But I kept at it, enjoying every bite, and only left a tiny portion on the plate. I paid the bill at the table via an electronic device that the server brought. This meant my credit card never left my sight, a method that I am accustomed to in Europe and which I prefer over the card being taken elsewhere for a while. Outside parking can be extremely difficult to find at University Village, but I have always located a space in one of the parking garages. Another one is currently under construction on the West side of the mall.

Dirty cups, dirty cutlery, dirty bathroom, dirty table, and dirty seats. Poor, slow service. Not going back and not sorry about it just imagine what it's like in the kitchen I literally saw hairs in my water and after waiting 20 minutes for some lemonade that was 99% water I was very disappointed. The knife that the waiter gave me obviously had a smudge of food on it and the waiter just completely ignored it after all of these bad things I didn't feel comfortable eating there food so I left

Very busy place but excellent service and food. Well prepared with great visual presentation. Value was appropriate and portion size adequate. Very attentive service. Place clean and bright and well maintained.

So, I walked in and ordered some food to go (how old school is that? no app, no calling ahead, I just ordered off the menu and then waited). And then the host asks if I would like a complimentary glass of sparking wine while I wait. I was not expecting that. I was, admittedly, dumbstruck. And then realized that yes I would like a glass. So while it was already a perfectly nice experience, with good service in a very University Village vibe-y place, it went next level nice. And the food was good (try the hummus!)

We found Joey's to be very noisy, with table crowded closely together. The menu is heavily slanted toward seafood. probably locally sourced. Service was border line and the seating area very cold and drafty. I do not plan to return.

If you are at University Mall and looking for a great place to eat and drink then give this place a try. The food was great (chicken wings and Creole Steak) and the service exceptional, particularly so as we were a large group that took up four tables. Reasonably priced too.

Have been here several times and it has never disappointed. The restaurant is in a shopping mall but is not the typical food to be found at other similar places. The Panang curry and tuna salad were excellent.

The food was sooooo good. We highly recommend the salmon dinner. Both my son and I loved it. It was beautifully seasoned. The birthday boy enjoyed the poki bowl and the yummy donuts. They even wrote Happy Birthday on the plate. Perfect. Our guest, a friend, loved the vegan hamburger and truffle fries. The service was good ad we loved our waitress Teleya!!!! What a sweet gal. Everyone enjoyed the celebration.

Hip Friday night spot for dinner with friends. Try the Korean spiced fried cauliflower. Long wait but free champagne and passed apps at the host stand! Service was slow in terms of waiting to order and getting our food. Server was friendly and helpful with menu questions, however brought the check without even asking if we wanted dessert.

Coming from Germany and doing a reservation for a group of 15+ was kind of difficult. Arriving at the restaurant, we found a well prepared table and a really perfect and very friendly service by Leila. We had lots of different starters, entrees and desserts, also a variety of drinks. All was very tasty and fresh made, excellent taste. Great place to come back

Had dinner on a Sunday evening, saw Panthers stomp Cardinals. Place was pretty full. Menu has good choices for vegetarians as well as meat/fish lovers. I had California Chicken Burger, wife had Fish Tacos, split a salad, and had two glasses red wine each. Bill was $72 before tip. Food was very well prepared, so I consider it a good value. We sat at the bar, and service was very prompt, friendly, and they checked on us regularly. My only complaint might be that they served our food TOO fast, and we were looking to chill a bit longer. So, next time I'll let them know to slow it down a bit.

We hadn't been to joeys for quite some time. Decided to come today , had ahi tuna salad and butter chicken . Was really good, best food we have ever eaten at Joeys. Service was solid. Will come again

A friend and I were teaching a class near by and stopped again at Joey's Kitchen to eat at about 5 pm on a week night. We chose to revisit Joey's with a memory of a very nice kale salad that we had when we were here before. We were not disappointed. While not the same kale salad they did offer a Farm Salad, a mix of mixed greens and kale, with beets, hazelnuts, with an vinaigrette, which they happily brought to me on the side. My friend ordered the tuna salad. Both salads were excellent and we would recommend them. They are not huge salads, but I was satisfied. Service is excellent. From the greeting at the door, to our server and a variety of support service staff, the staff was cheery, alert and attentive. The prices are a bit on the high side for what you get, Our combined bill for two main salads and one iced tea was $43.00. Add a tip and you are looking at a $50 salad dinner. We will return.

I call them bar and burger joints. They call themselves American restaurants. Either way they have great music, excellent food, a bar in the middle of everything, and great servers like ours...Melissa, who was a gem! I lost count of how many items I would have liked to sample if I had opportunity to return (I'm a visitor from NYC) and was hungrier, but I was pleased with my Caesar Salad and my Protein-Style Cab Burger which was "wrapped in lettuce, forget the bun" and served with skinny fries. My dinner companion's Herb Salmon Caesar (not on the menu) was very good, however it was 'son of salmon,' when it should have been the father. Too small is never okay. Complimentary 1/2 glass of champagne to start things off was a nice touch. Really nice place...give it a try.

We went to Joey Kitchen for lunch and both of us liked it very much. I had the fish tacos, which were the best I have ever tasted, and my friend had soup and salad. She said it was great. The waitress was very professional and nice. Service was just fine. My friend and I were there to share photos from some trips and no one made us feel like they wished we would vacate the table, though we were there over two hours. I was impressed by how professionally everyone was dressed, including the two hostesses. I thought the uniforms were attractive and dressy, a welcome change from some of the overly casual outfits I often see in other places. My friend is planning to take her granddaughter there and I will definitely be back.

My husband's shrimp dish was good but my big salad with chicken was a nightmare. It was so salty It was chopped so fine I could barely get it up to my mouth with a fork! And I took half of it home and by the next day the salt flavor had intensified even more. Our friend got a hamburger and fries and split it with his wife but the hamburger was so small it was like a slider almost. We were in a group but the rest of the group didn't come because they were going to put all of our check onto one ticket and had some other big financial requirement to eat there. We didn't get the message and actually went there by mistake.

We are from Vancouver and frequent Joey's often especially the Coquitlam location. Service is always great, food is too but yesterday the bartender at this location was stunned. We sat in the bar next to 2 other tables that had been served. It was 11:00 in the morning so it was not busy at all. As we finished deciding what we wanted, we waited patiently for the server to acknowledge us. 7 minutes at this point still nothing. She went to the table beside us twice and back to the bar to make drinks. 10 minutes past and now she is chatting with the other servers. Next she visits the men beside us to collect payment and I was sure she would be over to take our order. Nothing. So after this (approximately 13 minutes) I ask her if this was her table, her response" well I am in the bar and yes it is." What kind of answer is that?? I respond with "OK, can we order?" She responds with" OK, what did you want?" Wow, unbelievable. I have never has such a stunned, rude server in my life. I hope she was just having a bad day because if this is how she greets customers then she needs to look at maybe working in a warehouse away from people. We did speak to the manager and she apologized and asked us if we would like to be seated in another section. We declined.

Waitress highly recommended the Superfood 500 salad with chicken and she was spot on with it being so good. When I asked for gluten free, she asked if there were any other food allergy concerns! She doubled checked with the kitchen and returned with a list of safe choices! The food was impeccable and so was the service. My daughters's filet was perfectly seasoned and simply succulent. We really enjoyed ourselves and is the only restaurant that we plan to revisit on this trip!

This was our first time at JOEY Kitchen. The atmosphere and service were great. The servers were friendly and attentive. The food however was mediocre. We had a sushi roll that was filled with mayonnaise mixed with imitation crab. The other item we had were the fish tacos. They used a battered fish, which is fine but the quantity and quality of the fish was lacking to say the least. Additionally, they added deep fried bay shrimp which again, is not the highest quality. We were quite surprised at the quality of food given the restaurants reputation. If we were to try JOEY Kitchen again we would have to try something else for sure!

The food is exceptionally delicious, and the service is phenomenal! We were greeted by a very friendly hostess, quickly seated in the best spot. Erica was super courteous and had wonderful suggestions. I think I am officially in love with Joey's fried cauliflower dish with lime and guacamole dip. My husband ordered the burger from Happy Hour menu & that was yummy too. Thank you for doing such a great job! We will be back!

Could not have been better. Just love the place. Cool AND cozy. Wonderful personal. All of them. Especially Rachel F. All of the food was fantastic. Started with sliders royals. Best ever. Then the sirloin with good strong pepper sauce. Cooked to perfection. My Panang Prawn Curry Bowl was really hot and good. The salmon was smooth and tasty. The fishtacos great. We had appelpie and chocolate cake "to die for". Happy as ever! Thankyou for a superevening.

My husband loves Steak and we have gone to many overpriced Steak houses mind you they are good but the atmosphere is dark and boring. Here you can get a great steak Peppercorn NY or Filet with your side dishes for under $35. You must try the mashed potato rolls! Yum! You won't be disappointed!

I can honestly say its the worst meal I've had in quite some time. Caesar salad was wickedly overdressed with chewy croutons. Fries were like shoestring potato chips, and the service was sub-par at best. Never ever were we offered a second soda or water refill. We had higher standards for this Joey being that it is the test kitchen and what not but I've eaten better meals for far less dollars. Never ever have I experienced the server scraping scraps from the plates right at the table. I've eaten out enough times to know how to clear a table and this was not it. Seriously disappointed with the entire experience.

Well we've been told they hire only beautiful people in this establishment and it appeared so, sadly the looks were the only nice thing about our server, he seemed bothered when a drink was sent back as it came with soda water and gin rather than gin and tonic (pretty basic) We all enjoyed our meal, however the attitude of the server was horrible, and the bartender was either new or out sick, as our drinks were either all together wrong or poorly made (mojitos not even muddled just a whole leaf of mint thrown in and no lime) That said the food was amazing, the atmosphere and location were wonderful, the pretty boy that waited on us could very well have had a very bad day just sad that we were subjected to it though on a special girls day out.

Opted to pick a restaurant that has ample parking after a pretty long and mental calisthenics day on First Hill. Greeted by a cheerful lady named Dylann and gave us, a party of 3 women, a choice of where we would like to sit. The restaurant was, I would say, based on my estimate 90% full on a Saturday mid afternoon. It doesn't seemed dark although it has predominantly black seats/couches but highlighted with brown-toned wooden tables. Ambience is two thumbs up. We chose to be by the window. Weather outside was in the high 30s, grey clouds for an entire day with some on/off rain yet it was warm and comfortable in the restaurant. We were offered this sweet and somewhat tart champagne, sorry can't remember the name for starters. All I can say is it was gooood. Prompt service. Courteous and patient Brittany was our server. I like how they don't have a "uniform". Casual but a little fancy. Happy Hour "appies" were tasty and freshly made. We took a second round to test if they're premade or freshly done each time. We found the appetizers the latter. Tuna Taco, tempura cone and sliders were just right. Not overwhelming but they all tasted freshly made, done well and artistically presented. I like how the wrapper of the tempura has a slight hint of sweetness. We craved for more and thought it would be the last round of appetizers. However, my friends asked for another round. Altogether, they had 4 rounds! I had 2.They couldn't finish up the entire last order and last time I heard, their loved ones like them, too. Boxes and Joey's brown bag are nice, crisp and thick. Looks like they were shopping bags. Almost forgot to comment about $. They're reasonable and not pricey. Overall experience: 5 star. One of the best in Seattle. Thanks, Brittany and Dylann(I hope I spelled it right)! Will will return and recruit more nurses from the best hospital along Montlake:)

Fantastic food, great atmosphere. Solid wait staff. Prices vary on the menu so you can go and not break the bank. Great bar, gorgeous dining room. We'll be back. We made a reservation but still had to wait almost 20 minutes for our table.

What a great place, close to U Dub, excellent shopping. Great people and bar area, comfy booths with lots of TVs. Steak and sushi main is fantastic option, and prime dip minis appetizer a must. Will visit again.

The 2 of us visited a few days ago, Sunday at 11.30 am. . We chose to sit in the bar area. The hostess said the bartender would be right with us. There were 2 other small groups and maybe a handful of other people there. We waited 20 minutes before we asked the bartender if we could be served. She dropped off a coffee at the table right beside us and didn’t acknowledge. She replied with “ well I’m the bartender here, can I help you with something?” Like we were asking something unusual. Normally you would get “ oh I’m sorry I didn’t see you, I’ll be right over” So we picked up and left and went to have a great meal at Eureka next door. We go to several restaurants a month. We are from Vancouver. The service at Vancouver Joeys is impeccable. I hope they learn from them.

You know how it is when you go into one of those restaurants where everything looks new, the place is hopping, and all the waitstaff are gorgeous? It makes young people feel hip and awesome, but middle-aged cranky people like me feel frumpy. But Joey Kitchen's waitrons are excellent as well as decorative, the seating is comfortable, and the food is amazing. Pricey, but amazing. Try the mushroom soup and the 500 salad; it's the next day and I still feel satisfied from those two items and one glass of a great pinot noir. The big-screen TV seems to show the chef cooking all the time, so if you jones for Food Network, this is your spot.

Seriously some of the best food I've ever eaten! Everything I've tried has been amazing and each bite is an explosion of flavors! No bland food here! Wish there were a closer location to me- I'd probably be in several times a week!!! The tuna salad is to dye for, highly recommend ordering it... And the gyoza!

Great atmosphere! The staff is very friendly and the service is excellent. Food is unique and very good.

I have been here on several occasions. The food has been great every single time. They have some nice new dishes from the test kitchen, the sushi, steak and salmon has been fantastic. Service has been outstanding, very friendly and professional. The restaurant seems to be always busy, especially when there are sporting events at UW.

Consistent option in the village. Lettuce wraps are good. Generally service is good but can be spotty on game days.

Molly made it great!! Our server name was Molly and although she took a lot of time to explain her favorites, I still chose their market salad with salmon and it was delicious 😋. My only regret was that I didn’t have time to try some of their flagship dishes.

Before traveling, I usually look at restaurant menus at my destination so that I can experience the best, during my limited stay. I happened upon Joey Kitchen, and sent a link to their website to my wife, who was accompanying me on my trip to Seattle. Because we were staying downtown, and the restaurant was near the University of Washington, it looked like we would not make it in on this trip. Low and behold, I received a text from my brother whose son (my nephew), was attending U of W. He was free on our last night in town and wanted to have dinner near the University, if we were free. We made arrangements to be free and asked him to choose his favorite restaurant. It happened to be Joey Kitchen. My nephew explained that Joeynwas a "test kitchen", so their menu was kind of eclectic. It has been a long time since I have had a dining experience that so exceeded expectations. Every item ordered was cooked to perfection. The portions were larger than average, the service excellent, the selections wide ranging, and the atmosphere outstanding. The pricing was very modest in comparison to the quality and selection of the meals presented. And, the location is a 6 minute light rail rude from downtown Seattle plus an easy 5 minute cab or Uber ride from the train station. If you are in the Seattle area, you would do yourself a disservice by not spending at least one evening with the great management and crew at Joey Kitchen. Thank you Eric and staff for a most memorable experience and evening.

We ended up here as there was a 90 min. wait at Din Tai Fung. The restaurant has nice decor, the menu supposedly revolves around small plates (although there are "regular" entrees on the menu, so with a group of 6 we had a mixture of shareable and individual plates. The food was well-prepared, but seemed somewhat over-priced for the portions and quality. I can see that people who come here primarily for a few drinks and appetizers would rate this 4 stars, but for dinner I would say that it's just average and has a relatively selection of dishes.

We were seated in atrium, which we were assured was warm (it was) and I was offered a complimentary glass of champagne (what?!). It was happy hour, so my daughter and I shared fried cauliflower and pork gyozas. The food was so good, we also ordered spaghetti pomodoro (great spicy sauce) and Indian butter tofu. And then split donuts for dessert. All of the wait staff were very attentive. And my husband loved the leftover spaghetti. We’ll be back.

The atmosphere is chic and the staff is extremely friendly and the food is fun and healthy and there is a great variety. The wine list is decent.

Joey Kitchen sits at the bottom of the escalator from the southern parking garage in University Village, so its hard to get wet on a rainy day. Just a short few steps to the corner from the bottom of the stairs. You will be greeted by a very friendly hostess and led to a comfy, large booth. The menu is extensive and very delicious. I had the BBQ Salmon rice bowl and it was so good. My mother had a chicken breast on potato roll which was also great. There was a little trouble with the service that day because the credit card machines were down, but otherwise, the staff was friendly and helpful. Second visit to this place.

Great restaurant to have beer/food and catch up with friends or business colleagues. Crunchy and delicious fish tacos and suitable list of draft beers with something for every taste. Chicken wings were also seasoned in a unique pepper blend which we enjoyed. There are televisions for watching sports and ambient noise but not too loud or crowded so it was easy to have a conversation. In a great location in University Village mall with easy and free parking. Attractive waitstaff seemingly sourced from the University, if that's your thing.

Nice outdoor as well as indoor seating. Typical chain restaurant food. Parking is free and convenient when shopping in the University Village.

The facility is lovely. We were seated in what would be open air in warmer weather. I was under a heater and was way to warm. My wife, on the other side of the table complained about being cold. I felt the wait staff was a bit too attentive. Every few minutes somebody came by and asked if we wanted something to drink. IF I HAD WANTED SOMETHING FROM THE BAR, I WOULD HAVE ORDERED IT. Don't keep pestering me. I did enjoy the fish taco, but it was not exceptiona. We did appreciate them opening early on a game day. It allowed for a less rushed meal.

Decided to go early near beginning of "happy hour" and found less busy and less noise. New choices on the menu since last visit. Still great food.

Amazing service from Audrey, Claire, and Sienna! The nachos were fantastic! The pork is so Smokey and moist and goes so well with the cheese and tomatoes and fresh cilantro - highly recommend! Serving size was enough for two! Also the bar staff was super knowledgeable and the recommendations give definite played out! I would recommend the maitai and the espresso martini and the selection of tequilas! If you want a relaxing spot to watch the game and have some great food and drink this is it!

I have been to Joey a number of times, but this time it was not up to par. The service and attention were lacking and my dinner was just not that great. I was thinking about the filet mignon but when I realized it was going to be $69 for a 7oz steak, I changed my mind and had the New York steak instead for $44. The steak quality was only fair and my dinner was luke-warm when it arrived. The mashed potatoes were prepared in a novel and very tasty way, however. Joey is always lively, but this time, it was just plain noisy. I think I'll opt for some other restaurants in the future.

Almost a two hour wait meant my wife and I were searching for a quick lunch. We ran into this place and were so happy we did Large dining area and a good sized bar. Quick service and had several TV's to watch the bowl game that was on. Lots of beer on tap and a diverse menu. My wife had a ahi salad that was amazing. I did a tuna BLT that had to be one of the best sandwiches I can recall eating in a long time. Upscale bar food with a great staff.

We had a reservation for a large group and were given a long, high table across from the kitchen, sitting on bar stools. Still, it was comfortable and a great place to watch all of the action going on in the kitchen. This is a very busy restaurant, still service was mostly good. We had shared appetizers, the nachos being really great. Drinks were well made, although my sister ordered a second drink and it didn't come until we were ready to leave. I had the mezze plate - humous, feta, pita chips and it was filling and delicious. The burgers looked good and reported to be tasty. Two of our party had shared dishes and only half of the salad was brought to them. The servers were very friendly and the kitchen was really busy, but well organized. Portions are ample and fairly priced. This is a fun place and well placed because you can wander around the village after dinner. I would return, if I lived in Seattle.

We were in town for an NCAA contest at the University of Washington and stopped in to Joeys kitchen. This place has solid food and solid service. We enjoyed the salad and sandwiches that we ordered. Nothing too over-the-top just good solid food. The staff here is very attentive and easy on the eyes as well. I would recommend this restaurant in this town.

I went to go to Blu C Sushi which was adjacent to find to my disappointment it was shut down. So I went to Joey Kitchen and had the Japanese Surf and Turf which was exceptional possibly the best meal I have ever had. The service was great and the atmosphere was great. I will be back.

Friendly and courteous service with great food and good variety offered. I will definitely return again!

It is sometimes difficult to find a restaurant with delicious, locally sourced, beautifully presented food that would appeal to a seven year old, but Joey Kitchen fits the bill. My granddaughter was able to order a hamburger with skinny fries, plus lemonade, while my daughter and I enjoyed sushi, a wonderful chicken salad, and cocktails. Conveniently located in U Village, the menu has lots of variety, and all dishes are prepared with fine, fresh ingredients. Our waitstaff was very professional, and the food was exceptional.

Went for dinner and had their burge inr with cheddar cheese and bacon. Very good burger. Service very good, also. Surrounding are quite nice. Was able to be seated right away. Not fancy, but a good place for casual dining.

try Joey Kitchen. New and clean, bright and shiny, a great place for lunch. Both visits, I loved my meal. The last one was a rice bowl with goodies inside. I also loved the ahi tuna another visit. Much variety in choices, friendly service, and a good all around place to go with a friend. Attractive décor, nice ambience.

Not only is to food good, but the presentation is so beautiful. I had the Katsu Salad which is chicken and peanuts. Very tasty. My friend had the lettuce wrap with chicken and it was very good too. Nice staff and a very lively atmosphere. A little on the noisy side if you want to talk much with your companion.

When we walked in they were very busy. I had made reservations about a week earlier. When we checked in with the hostess she explained that people were taking longer than usual. They brought by some starters which were very good. After about 10 minutes or so, my Mother who can't stand for long periods of time asked if it was going to be much longer. The restaurant manager, Carlynn(sp?) took us to a large table to wait while ours was being cleaned. They brought us water and were great to us. About 10 minutes later, they took us to our table, carrying our waters for us. Our waitress Gabby was so very sweet and took our orders just a few minutes after we were seated. We ordered starter salads which were wonderful. Our wine steward was the sister of the manager Carlynn, did a wonderful job of opening our bottle of wine that were ordered. Our meal was excellent and cooked to perfection. We all ordered steaks and they were so flavorful and great tasting. We ordered the chocolate souffle dessert, you can't go wrong with chocolate as our waitress Gabby said. It was so very good. I can't say enough about the attention of the hostesses, waitstaff and manager. We'll be back.

Our service was amazing! We felt very welcomed by staff and felt as if they really cared about us. We will definitely be visiting this restaurant again!

Never disappoints us...always great food and service!! Fun vibe...complimentary champagne if you have to wait. Highly recommend!!

Kind of spendy but the food was worth it. The servers were especially friendly and knowledgeable of the food and the menu. The drinks were the most expensive thing on our menu

I took my sons here for a birthday celebration, even showed up without reservations. It was busy, but they fit us in within 30 minutes. The service was exceptional – probably the best thing about the dining experience. That says a lot, considering the food was well prepared and visually pleasing. Started with the chickpea curry and naan appetizer and the nachos. For the main course, we had butter chicken, one of the experimental dishes on the menu (which we loved,) Salmon, and steak & sushi. All dishes were prepared to perfection, with the only drawback that there was a little too much teriyaki sauce for the steak medallions, so the flavor was a little overpowering, but given how good the entire experience was, it wasn't a huge issue. Great ambience, a feeling of privacy at our table, even though the place was packed, and I could hear my kids sitting across the table. Our server was exceptional as I mentioned, comping us one of our appetizers as a goodwill gesture or. She was professional, friendly, very engaging. This was a remarkable dining experience that will definitely be repeated

Our dinner was excellent and very professionally presented. Nicole W who was our server gave us wonderful suggestions and had a tremendous personality. The service was exceptionally good and we would definitely come back again!

We were greeted and seated immediately. The food arrived steaming and beautifully plated. I had the ravioli with lobster cream and grilled shrimp. It was luscious!

My wife and I had a very nice dinner. It was a beautiful day and we were able to sit outside. That was nice as the inside was a bit on the noisy side. We shared a nice caesar salad. My wife had the salmon and I had a special salmon sushi and this sliced beef dish. Both were excellent. I loved the spice on the sushi, but it was not overpowering. The service was excellent. The corkage fee, $25 was higher than we have paid at similar restaurants. Overall, a great dinner experience. We would return to Joeys again!

Great night out right here in our neighborhood! I had the Baja Fish Tacos and they were outstanding. Made with shrimp, that were cooked to perfection served on corn tortillas. We had a super nice server which also made the evening enjoyable! Definitely will Coe back to Joey's:)

Having found Joey whilst visiting the U Village in Seattle we called in a couple of times, once just for drinks the other a few days later for lunch. Joey is a vibrant place. It is well appointed and very clean. The staff were all extremely welcoming and the food was very good.

I had the ahi salad. It was very good. Lots of flavor and a good portion. It was a bit expensive for a salad, but good. Enjoyed the various cooking videos on the monitors.

Fusion is like mixing styles dressing up: takes a lot of extra taste and skills. Joey really tries but the food lacks pure taste (maybe good taste). All strange in a way and combinations hardly work.

I visited Joey kitchen with family and everything we ordered was excellent. We ordered hummus and pita chips and lettuce wraps for appetizers, fish tacos and a farmer salad with chicken. The service was attentive.

It was interesting. i was surprised at how many kids were in the restaurant. It is a little high end. They do have options for the kids you just need to ask. The food was really good. The service was not the best. We had to ask our waitress for refuills for more than once.

Friends from France visiting with us wanted to try Joey. We all loved it the nachos were AWESOME!! Service was very quick and efficient we will back!!

Met a friend for lunch and decided to try Joey's Kitchen at the U Village. What a pleasant surprise! This place is located under/adjacent to the garage. I had no idea that the chef was so prestigious until I read the small bio on the bottom left of the menu. I was not disappointed. I wasn't too hunger so ordered a salad and mushroom soup. Oh. My. The soup was divine. Absolutely worth the stop. Cesar salad is caesar salad, so not much to report. My friend ordered a beautiful and flavorful salad that was on the special menu. It was on the expensive side, but I would go there again.

My son and daughter-in-law live in Seattle. This is one of their favorite restaurants. My husband and I had lunch there. Very popular and near the U of Washington campus. The Mushroom Pasta was excellent.

I have been to a few Joey's in Seattle and Toronto and found them to be consistently good. The atmosphere is casual, but well done

I ordered the blue cheese steak. It was amazing. The meat quality was superb and it was cooked perfectly. The blue cheese butter added the a fantastic flavor. I will be going back.

We really enjoyed our dinner here. We didn't have reservations but they seated us on the patio. By 6:30 PM the restaurant including the patio was very busy and this was a Wed night. University Village is very close to the UW Medical Center and the UW campus so there are a lot of people - reservations are a good idea. We had the half roasted chicken and it was excellent. Good wine choices - many local WA wines. We shared a side salad and dessert. It was all good. Very nice, friendly wait staff. I did think the gravy they offered was way too salty but we had it put on the side so it didn't ruin the chicken.

We had a very early dinner and wanted just a relaxing meal and comfort food. Our server Melissa was excellent. They did have a gluten free menu but there were not many choices. I did have the Bombay Butter chicken which was delicious. My HH had Chicken Parmesan which was also very good.

Joey’s Kitchen in the University Village has everything you need for a cozy outdoor happy hour or meal. The staff is friendly and professional. Everyone was wearing their masks until Actively eating or drinking. They have a tent outdoors with heaters and cute lamps; and the tables are set up 6 feet apart. They also have outside seating (not in the tent) with heat lamps. The happy hour menu is great! It the first time I’ve been out for drinks with friends since September and this place was perfect!

Food is quite good. I love their tacos but the service is ALWAYS terrible so I don't go back very often.

Had a lovely lunch. Eat in the bar- had a bacon cheese burger, veggie burger ( to die for) & sliders. Everything as delicious!

Great Burgers and sandwiches. they also have other entrees like Sushi cones and fettuccine Alfredo in case your appetite isn't satisfied with the great american sandwich. Loved it!

...upscale sportsbar feel and great lighting make for a perfect night with friends or casual first date. The service was also spectacular. Highly recommend.

I’m willing to pay $19 dollars for an entree salad if it’s fresh and nice size and it has a reasonable portion of protein. I ordered the harvest chicken salad. There were two very small pieces of chicken. No exaggeration. One small piece of avocado. Lots of lettuce and kale but none of the good stuff listed on the menu. I’ve tried other entree salads there and it’s generally the same experience. Fresh, but ridiculously skimpy with the protein or any of the other “non lettuce” ingredients (cheese, avocado, chicken). Service is always fine, lovely friendly hostesses, but $19 for a plate of lettuce and kale and two small bites of chicken? Rip off.

We have been to Joey Kitchen during previous visits to Seattle and enjoyed the experience, this was no different. It is clearly a popular place at ground floor level in the University Village Mall. Visitors are always given a warm welcome. We were shown to a booth where we were given great service by Vivian B. Our food was well presented and very tasty. Joey Kitchen is well worth a visit if nearby.

Several family members & I were extremely pleased that we visited Joey Kitchen recently for lunch. It’s a great location, has a vibrant inviting atmosphere, the complimentary glass of champagne was a nice touch! Our server, Casey was very friendly & attentive to our requests, and the food was excellent. Above all, the manager, Mike, circulated around the busy restaurant to ensure everything was running smoothly. I will definitely be back my next visit to Seattle & will recommend this restaurant to others. Thanks Mike, for a superb lunch experience!

We had such a fun lunch with excellent food and even got to taste a few wines to pick the one we preferred. We talked and talked and no one was in a rush for us to leave! Very kind and efficient staff. We’re from Australia and go to Joey’s Kitchen when ever in Seattle.

Started off on the wrong foot when they tried to seat the 8 of us at two booths back to back! A little attention from the manager resulted in our being seated all at one table. This was a dinner with visiting out of town relatives so and 3 calls had been made with the reservations so little excuse. But we persisted. Did I say a complimentary glass of champagne was there for those sitting and waiting? We had a very attentive waitress once that was settled. The decor is sort of glitzy and a lot of hard surfaces make for a lot of noise. I ordered an ice coffee with sweetener and was brought some packets of sweetener and a shot glass of simple syrup - a new first for me! A starter Caesar salad was tasty and followed with a BBQ salmon rice bowl that came with either brown or white rice. I chose white. The salmon was perfectly cooked and the sauce with the rice and crispy veggies was excellent. Have to mention the rest rooms as they were spectacular - you could go there just to see them. They are single with red/green lights to show if they are occupied. The floor was a stainless steel grating and the wall tiled. The water came from some contraption that rinsed and then warm air followed to dry. Sounds great if it really worked. Mine didn't really dry and if you waited for more warm air, you got rinsed again. Maybe it was just the nice family get together, but I had a positive experience with really great food at a reasonable price.

Have been here a number of times. The atmosphere is nice and there are a lot of servers/greeters but we have been lost in the shuffle several times. This last time we were forgotten on the patio and actually had to leave without service. The hostess was appalled and tried to make it up but we couldn't stay. Actually enjoy having a late afternoon wine break with my daughter there usually and enjoy the fried cauliflower and the dumpling appetizers. The trend lately hasn't been positive; hope they turn it around.

We sat outside for lunch on a beautiful day. The food was good, not great. I ordered and iced tea when we were seated, reminded our server of it when she took our order, reminded our server of it again when my food arrived, and it finally came when I was halfway through my lunch.

I agree with other reviewers who state Joey Kitchen is trendy...it really is. The vibe is so hip it hurts. But even as one who eschews that type of vibe...and even if it's a bit loud in here...I must give Joey Kitchen 5 Stars for excellent food and fantastic service. This is a laid back atmosphere...like an upscale sports bar. The crowd, while primarily young, is impressively diverse. One drawback would be the noise level - there's no escaping the din. But I will brave the noise for the menu! The food is soul satisfying and draws on cuisines from all around the world. They have a variety of Asian dishes: Sushi, Butter Chicken, Curry and Stir Fries. They also have things like Paella, Braised Short Ribs on Mashed Potatoes, Fish Tacos, lots of Steaks, Ravioli and other pastas. My last time out I tried the Miso Ramen. I'm pretty fussy about ramen; my favourite chain being Santouka from Japan. While Joey Kitchens' version isn't strictly traditional - particularly with the use of grilled chicken instead of roast pork as a garnish - it is very delicious and satisfying. The broth miso broth is very good. Prices are mostly reasonable but occasionally on the high side at Joey -for example, the Miso Ramen is 16- (high by any North American standard) but worth it. Desserts won't let you down - so don't skip them if you have a sweet tooth. The Apple Pie (8.5) in particular is fantastic. Service is excellent - the managers are constantly circulating and making sure of quality. Even a slight confusion over a drink brought someone to our table immediately to correct the error. And even though it's busy & hip in here, the servers are attentive & friendly. Not really a place for a romantic meal - but great for a small gathering or going out with another couple.

My coworker & I had a very long day & were very hungry. We decided to eat here before going to the hotel. Wow, it was so good! I had a somewhat local glass of wine that was very good. I didn't want too much food right before bed so I opted for a couple of appetizers. I had the dumplings & cauliflower and was not disappointed. It was just the right amount of food. The cauliflower was amazing! Wish I could replicate that st home b/c I'd eat it all the time.

Wasn't our destination, just convenient, but should have been. Nice service, attractive ambiance, waitress was personable and knowledgeable, very nice menu selections and drink menu. We were given a drink while waiting to be seated and given a nice appetizer, once seated. Our four lunch selections received high praise. We topped it off by sharing an apple pie dessert. Very enjoyable experience. We were seated in a room that was glass enclosed but which was open so it was like a 3 season room. Very nice.

If you can find a parking space in parking-challenged University Village, have a meal at JOEY Kitchen. There's a lot of variety on the menu and your canine friend can sit with you outside on the sidewalk patio. We like the lettuce wraps, sliders and gyoza, and you also choose from heartier entrees. There's a full bar. The place gets very busy so don't be surprised if the service is somewhat spotty. It doesn't really bother us because the employees are very nice.

If you want a late dessert in a classy minimalist atmosphere, we recommend Joey Kitchen at University Village. Warmly greeted by the hostess, she sat us at a comfortable half-moon booth overlooking the open-concept bar and dining with TV's and millennials. Personable server Cutter told us of their daily-made ice cream. My small scoop was smoothly delicious with real cherry pieces. My friend enjoyed the apple pie served in a square crust with maple ice cream. Besides the atmosphere and excellent desserts, hostess Naomi's visit to our table opened up interesting conversation and make me anticipate an actual meal at Joey Kitchen.

Had reservations ,arrived 5 mins before offered a glass of champagne ( what a nice touch) seated by the take door and after seeing the staff traffic dropping off to go bags we asked to be relocated. The hostess did this pleasantly to a nearby booth. We ordered starters from the crab cakes to the truffle fries and crispy chicken lettuce wraps. All the food was hot and tasty. The fries did not have the truffle oil which was promptly replaced. We then had the Steak Rivoli, Mariano Salad and the Speggitt. The entrees were all delicious and great presentation. We followed up with the Italian donuts and Apple pie yummy yummy!! The overall dining experience was great.

My niece worked here several years ago and place has been known for very cute young girls and crappy service mixed with fairly high prices. Thought we'd give another shot wanting the atmosphere of Christmasy feel at the village along with a nice lunch. Service is absolutely lacking, again when you're paying the price. Wine pours were lowered from 6 oz pour to 5. And when your paying 17.5 dollars for a 12.0 at best an average wine..to high. The 3 of us started with the hummus which was presented very nice but was served with burnt pita bread. We asked for some that wasnt burnt..she brought more burnt which again was burnt and when she felt she had time to stop wiping glassware and check on us we again asked for some that wasn't burnt. She brought some and was told by manager that we wouldn't be charged...well no **! All our meals were good. Spaghetti was basic tasting but good, blackened chicken entree was good and my Szechuan chicken lettuce wraps were delicious however had to ask a passer by employee for utensils to eat with. To finish, we asked for to go boxes was finally delivered with one non working. That took another 5-7 min to replace. Bills were delivered incorrect with hummus not taken off and she said "well you ate most of it". She corrected it, and I'm sorry..I want to see a bill, not just told what I owe, handed the machine thingy asking for minimum tip of whatever percentage they started with! I'm still one that pays in cash..and don't make me feel bad about doing it that way! Not one of us and any of our friends will go there again

Staff is always nice and accommodating but not real knowledgeable about their menus. Warning hamburgers are 30% fat! The BBQ rice bowl was good but you get about 4 oz. of salmon for $16.25. Drinks are great, recommend the Real Peach Bellini. Definitely give the place a try if you are in the U Village

Great atmosphere, bang'in Seattle beats, excellent food and service. Professional staff throughout but not stuffy. This would be a weekly spot for me if I lived in Bellevue. Lots of positive, fun vibe. I highly recommend, Cheers!

We were exhausted after several days in the hospital waiting rooms while a relative was having surgery. With the procedure over, and the patient resting in recovery, we finally had a chance to get out and get something to eat. We chose JOEY Kitchen and were so glad we did. With HS graduation groups arriving, we were lucky to snag a seat. Ordered a nice bottle of Cab. Franc, and for dinner the Baha Fish Tacos and the Hand Pressed Burger. Both were excellent. The tacos were a combination of cod and prawns and guacamole...along with a side of fries. The hand pressed burger had everything on it and a very tasty "secret sauce". Our server was Lilly and she was great...attentive, personable, efficient. The atmosphere was very pleasant. I would definitely come back.

Hip, Happening, lively bar scene, beautiful wait staff, all combine to make a delightful dining experience. The menu is varied and can please most anyone. We had the Paella and the fish tacos. The paella id packed with shrimp and fish and served in a cast iron skillet which makes the rice slightly crispy around the edges. the fish tacos were very fresh with nice flaky fish and crisp greens. We will return

We had plans to eat at another well known restaurant upstairs but was given a 1.5hr wait! We decided to go to Joeys by accident. What a surprise. They seated us within 5 minutes. Everyone is very well dressed and friendly. They were almost too friendly and nice that it may be hard to get use to and makes you wonder about the sincerity. Three different people stopped at our table just to chit chat with us and kids. It was very pleasant but will take a few minutes to get use to. I also watched while the receptionist stopped every guest leaving to ask how their visit was. I have a back problem and the waitress found two blankets to put behind my back. When we left another staff ran after us because they thought the blankets were ours. Wow. Now the food. We ordered a variety of food. All were very good. We had a combination of American, Indian and Chinese so the menu is very eclectic. The only thing is that the price is a little higher but I think it is worth the service and quality food. I have a new favorite restaurant!

The food was amazing! We all LOVED our meals and our deserts. Highly recommend the coconut curry from the test kitchen. Sadly though the service was crap. Took forever just to get water. Ordered cocktails and those took their sweet time getting there as well. All four of our water glasses ran dry and stayed dry. We had to go take them to the bar to get them filled. Expect great food but not great service.

Excellent food and drinks, very attentive and good service :-) Nice location, stylish but not snobby. Will definitely go their again.

We had lunch here while visiting Seattle. The atmosphere is very nice; there is a bar with TV’s and high tops, but it was never too loud. They offer you a free glass of champagne upon arrival; a good start! I had chicken Parmesan, which was recommended by our server. It was a good sized, not huge, piece of chicken breast topped with homemade spaghetti. The sauce was not your typical marinara, it had a little kick to it, which was very tasty! Served with a thick piece of garlic bread. I highly recommend it! Friends had the salmon bowl, which she said was fantastic, and a sirloin steak served on a bed of fresh vegetables, also good. The only reason I didn’t give this 5 stars: One if my friends has celiac disease and needs gluten free. They have a gluten free menu, but two of the items she tried to order “might have small amounts of gluten in them”. Not okay for her! Friend found an item that naturally was gf and it was good, but in this day and age the servers/cook staff should be more knowledgeable about food sensitivities!

Held a family dinner for 17 people here. Good food, very good appetizers, drinks were good as well. Good service. Did not get the private area requested, but it worked out. All in, would recommend and would go again.

Abby was a wonderful server, I came in to have a drink and cheese burger and turned out amazing! I definitely recommend coming in to anyone that hasn’t before. I’ll be coming here more often!

I was looking for a meal late in the evening, on a weekday. This was one of the few restaurants nearby that was open, it was a great choice. I ordered from the late night happy hour menu and regular menu. I ordered a crab cake, gyoza, steak frites and the house sangria. The gyoza and sangria were exceptional, the crab cake and steak frites were good. My server Lilly was very friendly and did a great job. I would definitely dine at this restaurant again.

I don't know what is going on in Seattle, but it seems that this city is not training their staff on customer service, or they don't seem to have the staff to accommodate a busy time. Joey's was the 4 place in Seattle that had good food, but the service was lacking. I counted 7 dirty, unbused tables, I didn't see an assistant waiter, but I did see 4 very beautiful hostesses. the lobby or foyer was packed with people, it took our waitress 15 mins to collect my credit card and another 15 mins to swipe it. The manager and many other servers passed but failed to help out. When I saw the manager bus and reset a section I felt sorry for the waiter who was now going to get slammed with 7 new customers. After being in San Francisco this week, I think Seattle needs to take some lessons. The food was delicious. We had the steak and sushi. Great flavors. We did try their spicy chicken wings. The flavors made you stop and think what the spices were, and then you wanted to dive in for more. The tuna salad rocked.

Given the location (just down the hill from UW and located in a [albeit large] strip mall, I was impressed with the quality of food. Service was quite good; enough servers to handle the volume and they were Johnny on the Spot. Meat was cooked to perfection. Solid selection of drinks and appetizers. Will return.

I had been going to Piatti for years but they seem to have given up- and food isn't really great. So a friend suggested Joey and I went, though not too excited because I had not been thrilled with the Bellevue version. But I loved this place! I was there twice this week- had the Katsue chicken salad which was fresh, large, tasty ( not dried out) chicken and generally delicious. Then I had the fresh sashimi grade Tuna salad- a little on the small side but absolutely excellent. I tasted my husbands Cobb- fantastic. And one lunch they gave us free champagne. The young women waitresses are extremely friendly and competent ( and my husband thought they were very decorative..) I really like this place and I intend to go there often

We've been to several Joey locations and enjoyed their new kitchen location in University District. They had a happy hour selection of drinks and food (which ends at 6)--we had the Pilsner beer and delicious gin and tonics ($4 for each drink) and then we ordered dinner from the main menu. I had their farmers market large salad with chicken - VERY good, and my husband enjoyed the butcher sandwich (their version of a french dip). Our friends ordered the burgers on my recommendation as it was their first time visiting the restaurant. They thought they were only average which was disappointing as I've had them in the past and they were quite good. They are freshly ground and pressed each day and the bun looked delicious. They are served with string fries. Cost was $87 with tax. Great atmosphere with super friendly staff. No problem finding a table at 5:30 on a Wednesday, but by the time we left around 6:30 it was pretty packed! Would return.

You’re greeted with a gratis flute of champagne and shown to a comfortable table. If all you want is a salad, there are good choices; everyone who orders a burger seems to enjoy it. Classy joint.
Joey missed
Very confusing service, no less than five people servicing the table. Bring drinks, water, silver ware; didn't know who the actual server was! Interrupted so many times, could really relax and enjoy. Not to mention they messed up the order and had to re-do it, except they only kinda re-did the order. Kept the same protien and just wiped off the dressing and out it on new salad greens. Food wasn't worth the money, very salty! Used to be impressed by Joey's and lived going there but lately it has slipped since it first opened. Other choices in the Village with a better value.
