This was our fourth visit to JRDN and it didn't disappoint. Each time we visit San Diego we make a point of going for the fresh, quality ingredients and by far, the best chili margarita ever! If you want a margarita with some kick, don't hesitate to try this! And, last night the restaurant proved why we'd visit again...after a surprising experience with a cold special entre, our gracious server took it away without hesitation, promptly told us that the kitchen staff apologized, presented a new entre immediately, compensated our bill and provided us with a dessert gratis. Now that's the way to recover with flair! Well done. As for our meal, the biggest scallops ever, beautifully roasted served with a spiced honey and crispy pork belly and a green pea pure - yum! And dessert- the Tower Bar - a sure satisfaction to any chocolate lover. Thanks again JRDN - a memorable gem we will recommend and return to again.

This restaurant is worth the trip...very popular and very pricey sea food, but the food and service is outstanding

Everything was incredible...we took our server's advice on what to order. Filip took great care of us, from the mussels appetizer to the halibut for main entree...then he recommended the chocolate bread pudding, to die for! Amazing food, amazing service...

The view was amazing, the food fantastic and the server was so kind. We had a wonderful experience! We sat outside right by the boardwalk - very happy!

The only thing that could possibly beat the view here is the fantastic food they serve! The Tower23 Rainbow Roll, Fried Brussels Sprouts and the Miso Glazed Halibut were just a few of the delicious plates we shared. JRDN's drink menu includes many brilliantly crafted cocktails (I enjoyed the Georgia Peach Mule). And don't forget to have dessert - even if you don't have room for it! We chose the Eight-layer Carrot Cake and the Chocolate Futomaki. Both were absolutely amazing! The service was impeccable and the view of the Pacific and Crystal Pier are stunning - especially at sunset! Great food, delicious drinks, awesome service, beautiful atmosphere - what more could you ask for? JRDN has it all!!!

We dined here on the patio beach view for breakfast and it was delicious. Amazing view of the ocean while enjoying the sun and food. We also dined in for dinner and that was even better. Delicious high end options to choose from. Staff are very attentive and friendly.

Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner...the food, bar, views, staff are all top notch. Ate there 3 times in 2 days...one meal better than the next.

Me and my men had dinner there on New Years night. Service was good. We shared calamari and both got 2 different steak. Meringue pie for dessert. All tasteful, we went back home to get ready to go to a party and both got sick.. Ended up staying the night. Ruined our NY night. I called the next day to let them know of potential of food poisoning, the lady just said “ Oh, I am sorry. Have a nice day” .. Such poor response from what I thought was an upscale restaurant!!?!

My husband and I always used Jordan as our go to lunch place when vacationing in Pacific Beach for the past ten years. We were disappointed to see that they'd changed their menu substantially, and decided to become sushi-centric. We like sushi, but went to Jordan for something else—their excellent lunch salads and steaks. Now the steaks are sky high in price. We had the octopus salad, which had a nice miso dressing, but the octopus was rubbery. Acoustics have always been awful inside. But the servers are always good here, and that hasn't changed. The view is incredible. Still, we are sad to see much of the old menu go.

We've been eating here for years, and always enjoyed the food, service, and view. Recently we returned for dinner and were very disappointed. The service was awful. We had to wait almost an hour for our main course. The waiter was much more concerned with us re-ordering cocktails. He forgot that we had ordered dessert, and was anxious to close out our bill. Other patrons were complaining about the service as well. The prices have gone up, and the portions gotten smaller.

Just had a terrible experience at JRDN! Not handicapped friendly! I made reservations for my birthday, went there expecting to spend $500 plus for drinks and dinner with my family. The hostess tried to seat us in a passageway. The hostess was not accommodating wouldn't let us sit near heatlamp. Got blessed by seagull droppings on our person and food! They did replace the items but still charged us- would have been a nice courtesy to comp the items. It was so miserable we left and went to another restaurant who accommodated us. The waitress was great and tried her best. The hostess sucked. DO NOT CHOOSE JRDN FOR A SPECIAL EVENT!!!

Riding rented cruisers on the Pacific Beach board walk, my husband and I debated on leaving our cruisers unlocked in the bike rack to have appetizers and a drink at JRDN. We saw a couple enjoying a big bowl of mussels and decided to go in. We were seated on the other side of plexiglass from our bikes and ordered the mussels and a glass of wine. The mussels in a tomato cream broth were so delicious that even if our bikes were stolen, it would have been worth it to not miss out on these!! I am still dreaming about them and will definitely return on our next trip to San Diego

Very attentive, friendly, and professional. I had a sushi roll and calamari, and it was heavenly. Within easy walking distance of my hotel.

This restaurant is right on the boardwalk with great views. The food was excellent as was the service. We stayed in Tower23 Hotel and ate breakfast here because it was so convenient. With many other options, we still choose this restaurant each year.

JRDN is a very modern restaurant in a hotel right on the Pacific Beach board walk. You get a nice view and can watch people. The decor is quite nice. Did is pretty good but not great. There is valet parking in the hotel.

A menu full of original recipes and all seem to delight to palate from aps to entrees to desserts. We tried the full gamete and nothing was a disappointment. The wines too were perfect with each course. Our server was very helpful and continually there to assist if needed. The views of the setting sun and the beach are spectacular. This is definitely an eatery not to miss when in the area.

I recently lunched at JRDN. The girl who answered the phone didn't want to take a reservation. But I insisted to be safe. When we arrived, there were lots of tables available, so she had a point. But it was funny how reluctant she was to pick up a pencil and enter a reservation. In summary, the ambience is great. The view is fantastic. The service was good and the food was less than mediocre. The prices are high, so you pay for the view. But the food makes the experience not worth it.

In the Saturday 22 of July I went to this restaurant for lunch with my husband. Unfortunately what was supposed to be a pleasant meal became a true embarrassment, because of your waitress Sarah, who spend the whole time insinuating herself with smiles and nasty looks to my husband. My suggestion is that the restaurant teach their waitress to act like this when the table is full of single and unattached men, since it seems she was selling herself out for tips! Sarah didn't have the least respect for her customer, and either the minimum of description when she looked to my husband. As the result: she didn't get a dollar of tip and we are never putting our feet in this establishment again.

We ate here several times (brunch and dinner). The view is fantastic - right next to the beach. Meals are served on hot plates - a nice touch. Servers were professional and willing to go the extra mile. The scallops were cooked perfectly. The octopus was a tad tough but flavorful.

Our daughter found this spot so we decided to check it out and were not disappointed! The food was ON POINT! The view was FANTASTIC! Service was TOP NOTCH! It was a smidge overpriced, but the experience was well worth it!

We loved this restaurant!!! Made a res and were sat immediately along the glass overlooking the water. It is stunning with glorious views. The inside and bar area are beautiful as well. Lovely ambiance...very romantic. Our server, Arnold, was fantastic!!! Efficient and super friendly. Total asset to the restaurant! He made it an experience, not just dinner. The braised beef was to die for!!! The cocktails were yummy! Totally delightful...one of our favorite spots in PB!

We have been lunching at JRDN off and on for about 17 years (it is a 45 minute drive each way) so obviously we love it. We love the place, the service, and the food. However, we took off a star for the following reason. The prawn cocktail for $24 turned out to be a shrimp cocktail. The server knew it—so we don’t know why they do not change the menu. Our bill was not adjusted in any way. It was also miserably cold; we will wait to go again when the weather is warmer.

Didn’t eat the food, but the Moscow mule I had there is easily the best one I’ve ever tasted. Great spot to people watch and just enjoy the weather and ocean.

Looking for people who want to stay away from crowds in a stylish and classy restaurant.. Good food and service.

Fab service for sure great drinks nice wine list. Mussels were the best with cream sauce over the top. Short rib in cherry sauce unreal with mashed potato and asparagus wonderful. The clams were spicy the lobster roll. Very spicy. Fab spot

Came for dinner with 7 other girls, we all agreed our food was amazing but the service was even better. Michelle did an amazing job taking care of us. She was able to answer all of are questions about the menu, and was always making sure we were doing ok. She was fun, friendly, and an all around pleasure to have as a sever.

Excellent appetizer - ahi nachos! - and phenomenal sushi for dinner, accompanied by a refreshing cosmopolitan. Bliss! Atmosphere is fun, colorful and lively against a backdrop of the ocean. Perfect.

Visited San Diego for our anniversary and chose JRDN for dinner. Made reservations easily through open table and had no issues. We arrived a little early for our Monday 7:45 pm reservation and in spite of how busy it was, we were greeted warmly and told they’d work us in early if possible, but probably at the regular time. We were seated at an outside table as requested. View was fantastic. Our server was Destiny, and she was top notch. Personable, lots of eye contact, and very knowledgeable about the menu. Food was fantastic! Seafood Dynamite was very flavorful, and my wife had Fried Calamari which was wonderful. Sides of potatoes confit and Mac and cheese were good. Too much food for the two of us honestly! Desserts of chocolate mousse and lemon blueberry semifredo were heavenly. Absolutely everything about this place was top notch and I would not hesitate to go here again for a special occasion.

Went for brunch on a Sunday, very friendly staff, a varied menu, with more healthy choices than most brunches offer.........Having said that, my omelette with avocado and bacon had very little avocado and bacon...........disappointing for the price !

I had the steak, which was good and they made a vegetarian pasta dish for my wife from seasonal vegetables and a tomato sauce. It was really good. The deep fried brussel sprouts are a must!! Service was very good - the modern design and lighting is great once the sun goes down.

My Husband & I had a delicious dinner at JRDN. He had the Pork Chops which were two BIG chops together "Tomahawk" Style and they were moist & yummy. I had the Lamb Lollipops which were very good too. The view was mostly of the Bike path-which was great for people watching. The waitstaff were very nice and attentive. We were there at around Sunset so sitting on the patio was comfortable, but with no umbrellas I would not sit out there during a hot day !

I I had a terrible experience with the host at this restaurant. The host was extremely disorganized and seemed overwhelmed when we walked in at 7 pm. We asked for a table for 3 people, but she said they didn't have any table until 9 pm, even though we saw so many tables were empty. We were willing to wait. Then, we checked the availability times on the website, and it had so many available times for reservations, resulting in long wait times and confusion among guests. Additionally, they mishandled our reservation and were unapologetic about the inconvenience caused. The lack of professionalism and customer service skills displayed by the host tainted the entire dining experience for me. I would not recommend this restaurant based on my encounter with the host alone.

Worth a visit. Fun venue. Nice menu. Staff a bit hit or miss. Adele the waitress is excellent (not Alex as I referred to her in my last review - apologies).

A beautiful outdoor and indoor restaurant with a great view of the boardwalk and water. They offer heat lamps and cozy blankets if it’s a bit chilly. Creative dishes for brunch and lunch - all generous portions. They push the Lobster BLT but we found it to be not that interesting/flavorful. Chicken sandwich, etc would be a better choice. Service is very good. Nice selection of cocktails/wine/champagne. And they will validate parking in the hotel lot - Tower 23. A great choice!

Very trendy decor, very busy, right on the beach, but mediocre food. They need to expand their menu beyond bar food and offer more healthy options. While our waiter was great, the staff and kitchen are just overwhelmed in the summer months.

I would highly recommend that you choose this upscale eatery when you visit Pacific Beach. It is hard to find a nice place locally that has fine cuisine obviously prepared by a professional chef. It is not a chain, has lots of fresh oysters, poke, shrimp and even an awesome filet mignon!

We absolutely loved our dining experience last evening. I had short ribs with puréed potatoes that just melted in my mouth and my partner had oysters and nigiri, both of which he said were the best he’s ever had. We ate fairly early as there weren’t any later options when we called. We were in and out in less than an hour. So great!

Thank you for asking. We have enjoyed dinner here; so we thought we would enjoy breakfast (which opened after 9 am). We were 4 people (as we invite an out-of-town couple) - and only 1 other person in the restaurant purchasing a coffee to go. The coffee was bad (tasted like reheated from the prior day). The Breakfast of Mexican Chilaquiles were very soggy, and extremely slow service. We also had the avacado toast & fried potatoes - the potatoes were good. Therefore, I will not be recommending for Breakfast - only a dinner/happy hour place.

This review is long overdue! I’ve dined at the restaurant several times and had more than a few drinks at the bar and would highly recommend JRDN. The staff is great and everything we ate was well plated and tasted amazing (get the sashimi & the mussels). You can’t beat those views of the beach. We actually stumbled upon this restaurant while we were searching for a private area to have an intimate wedding and reception (about 30 people). We had been to quite a few places in San Diego but this felt right for us. I can’t say enough about how amazing our experience was. Robby and his team were great with communication and consistently went above and beyond for us. He offered great tips we hadn’t thought of and always said yes to even the smallest requests. JTDN is very lucky to have him on their staff. I’d highly recommend their event room with private patio for an amazing dinning experience for a special event or group dinner. Can’t wait to go back!

Stayed at the Tower 23 hotel for a few days and went to this restaurant and bar for several meals and several more drinks. Great staff. Awesome staff. Food was excellent. Drinks were all very good. They are making the best of the current conditions.

This is the best restaurant and atmosphere in PB. Must visit. The service, food and views are one of a kind. Tasi and Stephen were incredible.

What is not to love. Beach front location. Modern indoor seating. Nice outdoor patio with heat lamps. Brunch menu only had 6 options but lots of drink options on a separate menu. Nice servers. Actually....reasonable prices for beach front dining! VictorB

Contemporary atmosphere located just back from the beach. Had a sushi roll for an appetizer that was fresh with excellent appearance and taste. Great selection of draft beers and the bartenders mixed cocktails to a high level of detail. Friendly, attentive staff.

We had reservations at 7pm and we were greeted with an energetic and happy smile. Once seated it became obvious there were two very large parties and the serving team seemed very, very occupied with them. First, the bad news. Everything took far too long to happen. Water, beverage service and our appetizer took 27 minutes to arrive. Add to that our mains took another 32 minutes to arrive so from being seated to eating, it was an hour. And… the noise level was so loud as to drown out any conversation we were trying to have. Made what was supposed to be a romantic dinner into a long slog of sound and delay. Now the good news… the server, who was overworked and needed to have couple less tables.. was great. Smiles, good personality and took care of us. He couldn’t come back to check on us much due to the large party he had. The food was amazing. The short rib buccatini was a 10 out of 10. The burger was and 8 out of 10, but it was overpriced for what you get. When our server did check in on us at the end of the meal we told him while the food and he were good the long wait was not. He apologized and said they knew they may have had issues as the two tables were about 25 people. No kitchen is set for 25 tickets all at once. So we got stuck behind them. The table next to us (which came in 5 minutes after us) didn’t get their mains for over an hour. Bad night if you were not part of the big parties. The server offered us a complimentary desert, which was nice. Over all a good night but waaaay longer than it should have been and at premium prices it was not a premium experience.

The food is really good here. We ordered several plates for sharing and really everything was delicious. Service is very friendly and efficient. Pretty good wine list. Recommended any time of day on the board walk in Pacific Beach.

We sat on the outdoor patio with stunning views and the perfect setting to take in a cotton candy sunset. We had a great time with Eric and Armando and the rest of the friendly staff. They were knowledgeable about the menu and made some amazing craft cocktails. The sushi was excellent, but it’s the friendly service that will have us coming back here again and again.

The restaurant is situated on the beachfront. In late May the weather is usually clear and sunny ,so we booked an outside table with a view of the rolling surf. When the storm clouds rolled in a very attentive Phillip reasurred us he had plans for us to move should the weather become inclement. We ordered food on his recommendation-short rib and salmon. Both dishes were superb. Cooked perfectly with tasty accompaniment. The evening was memorable for food, wine and company. It was Phillip who made the difference. He shared his life's narrative and he looked after us when the weather became problematic. In a world where the individual can disappear Phillip made our restaurant experience personal. We have no hesitation recommending the restaurant ,food and service.

We had the good fortune to check in to the Tower 23 Hotel where this restaurant is located, on its reopening night. We went for a late lunch and really enjoyed ourselves. The service and food was very good. My husband and I shared their Tuna Nachos, Fried calamari and JRDN 2point Sushi. All delicious. We were so impressed and pleased with this restaurant we invited a group of friends too join us that night for dinner. Our entire group enjoyed all their appetizers and entrees. The winner that evening was the scallops, though having tasted every entree all were quite tasty. All the servers were professional, friendly and efficient, of special note was was Josh who we had the pleasure of having him take care of us throughout our stay.

Went in to have dinner. Placed on a wait list. Went to the bar to have a drink. Credit card requested by bartender to start a tab. Had one drink and requested to close tab. Informed by bartender that my credit card had been given to another table. The other table had left. Told that my credit card was unretrievable. On our honeymoon and all purchases on said cc ie: hotel, rental car etc. Bartender said "sorry". Manager brought in and said "sorry bartenders are busy". Left on phone cancelling my credit card while on my honeymoon. End of story - told by the other bartender "it happens".

The food and service were outstanding. My friend is currently injured and using a scooter. The 2 guys working the valet (Austin & Ben) were so helpful and gave us the time and space to load and unload safely. Our server, Mari was also wonderful and gave great food recommendations. Views are amazing. We will definitely be back.

View of the beach and boardwalk greets the diner at JRDN. We were served by Alexandra who was very friendly and knew how to steer us to a fantastic meal. The menu choices were creative and appealing. A table nearby was served a tower of fresh seafood and my choice of Crispy Chicken Salad was fresh and had a unique spicy sauce. Dinner was so good, we went back for breakfast!

Love this spot, great views and the food is very good. We have been here several times when we come to San Diego. I was a little disappointed in the Lobster BLT, I was expecting chunks of lobster but it was a lobster salad and you couldn't even tell it had lobster in it, very small pieces. Also, they had 1 slice of bacon on each side, and for $21, I expect chunks of lobster not a salad. Went back for dinner the next night and we had the mussels which are delicious with chorizo! We also ordered the Half Maine Lobster for $39, and got the smallest tail of lobster, that I have ever seen, it was curved and not a lot of meat. Again I expected a meaty lobster tail. The Lobster items are the only issue I have with JRDN. The service was great, with great views of the boardwalk and beach.

You can’t go wrong with JRDN! Fantastic food, beautiful location and an even friendlier staff. We kept going back time and time again for brunch, dinner or just post-beach drinks, and they did not disappoint! The food was delicious and the pastry and dessert was to die for. I would highly recommend the 8-layer Carrot Cake or the Strawberry Panna Cotta! Thank you, JRDN- we can’t wait to come back again soon!!

Right on the boardwalk surrounded by clear glass partitions, the restaurant feels like it's right on the beach but still warm and cozy. The food was great, and the service even better. Our waiter (Keith) was willing to just chat with us, and then as he learned more about us, he just surprised us with awesome stuff. A rare kind of top-notch service experience.

We having been coming to this restaurant for some time, but the service is by far the worst. It's declining rapidly. No need to go back, the servers actually forgot who pays their salaries, the customers they are waiting on - such a simple concept so one would think you would provide the best service so the customer gets the best treatment and you get a great tip... No one ever came back to our table to refill coffee or water, guess we are on our own. Could have, should have stayed home and served everyone Nespresso's. Maybe they are self serve now? We were served our food except for one in our party - 2 people came to tell us it was on its way and then we attempted to get the waitress's attention but she did a darn good job to ignore our pleas to serve the rest of the party. A mere 10 Minutes later the food was served, we go by the rule eat when everyone else has their food - just polite, right? The rest of us had cold food while we waited. We asked for a cheese burger - but the cheese burgers served there don't come with cheese, but we could not get anyone's attention to get the correct meal. This is great.. they clean the bathrooms at noon, high time, when brunch is being served there was a line of 5 women waiting almost 15 minutes to use the bathroom.. I asked the manager why we couldn't use the bathroom, he really felt like he was being bothered his body got all ruffled and his face got squishy, his response, "well I just got here". So if ya don't mind not using the bathroom, like to wait for your food and want self service, this is the place for you. We live here and this was a favorite - try other places on the board walk or perhaps walk over to the bay side and delight your self with the fine service at the Catamarian - the service is great and you can't beat the food, and the brunch is to die for. Don't waste you time at JRDN because you are only wasting their time....! I had to give it one rating - it doesn't deserve any.

Food was excellent. Half of the restaurant was casual and the other half was fine dining. Patio seating with complete ocean views

Everything was great! The food, the service & the valet! Both Austin and Ben were so helpful during the valet process! Will be back for sure!

We stayed at the Tower 23 hotel so we ate at JRDN every day for breakfast (came with the room). The food was wonderful! They have sweet and savory options and enough choices to suit my family of 4 (two teenage girls). The service was good on the days we went early. But pretty bad on the days we were there during busy times. Staff was always kind and trying their best tho, just not enough of them I guess. We also came for dinner one night. The food was delicious - sushi rolls and sashimi were top notch. The mussels were delicious (based in more of a creamy red sauce with some kind of sausage) and the calamari was also really good incorporating some broccoli and peppers. The cocktails were creative and fun. The ambiance is great, with a nice glass wall separating you from all the people walking the promenade. This made ppl watching very fun! You could also catch the sunset from the patio, which was lovely. Overall I highly recommend!

JRDN (pronounced Jordan) is the best restaurant on the Pacific Beach boardwalk. The food is good. Seafood, sushi and salads are particularly good. The bar is good and doesn't cater to the early 20 somethings that most of PB does. The best spot is out on the patio watching everyone on the boardwalk pass by.

Jrdn is located on the ground floor of the Tower 23 Hotel. It is situated right on the boardwalk in the Pacific Beach area of San Diego, and offers spectacular ocean views. It is a great place to watch the sunset. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The decor is trendy and so is the food and drink. I love the mussels and the brussels sprouts.

The food and service (Derek was great) are excellent. We knew based on other reviews it was a lively place, but it was a bit noisier than we would have preferred. We went on a Saturday night so that probably was a factor as well. Having said that, I was torn between excellent and very good, so overall we would most certainly go back.

This place is a must if you are looking for an experience - a good one that is! Our dinner was - by choice - long and relaxing. Some of our food was outstanding, other dishes, well, could have been better. However, I did not complain. After the fact I did contact the management and they were very responsive. Lesson learned ... if your meal here is not PERFECT be sure to let them know. This restaurant wants to be sure you have a positive memorable lexperience.

Wandering down the boardwalk in Pacific Beach and decided to grab dinner at JRDN. The restaurant is inviting with a great patio overlooking the beach. Our servers were very attentive. Drinks were well made. I tried the Halibut which was perfectly cooked and served in a light broth. We also tried the pork chop which was large, cooked perfectly and had perfect accompaniments. For the area I am sure it is considered expensive but the food value is there.

My daughter celebrated her 13th bday brunch with 15 girls at Jrdn restaurant on 9/30/17. The service and entire event exceeded my expectations! It all started with Randy, who helped me early on prepare for the bday brunch. Randy made the process seamless for me. He was available and very responsive by email. Throughout the ~ 3 week planning process, I would have requests and changes, and he happily would take care of everything for me ( changing reservation time/number, printing special menus, and then printing more the night before, when I added more girls, etc), by email. I never had to pick up the phone again. I am so grateful! As a busy working mom, this type of customer service is priceless. The day of the event, was smooth! My server, Sarah was so wonderful, helpful and very enthusiastic and the manager that day, Johnny was helpful throughout the event, always a smile on his face! Lastly, rounding out a perfect celebration, were all the Valet's (George, Luis, William and Andrew) whom helped me bring the all the supples and cake in and then help bring all the gifts and supplies back to the car, etc. all the while parking my car close to the entrance, so I wouldn't have to walk so far---now that is service! Once again, I could not be more pleased with the bday brunch celebration!!! Thank you!!!

Had dinner at JRDN on Christmas day. The ambiance was nice as we sat at a table close to the window so we could see the sunset. The waitress wanted to place us at a table that was right at the entrance of the dinning area where other people were walking. When we asked to be seated at a table at the window she told us "I will check, but we have a lot of reservations tonight". So what, we had reservations too and we are there now. We had a 5pm reservation. I could understand if other individuals requested a window seat and their reservations were close to our time. But, don't down play like my reservation means less than others! The food was very good but I had a problem with the size of my dish. My date had the Porchetta and it was very good and a good size for one individual. I had the Lamb Rack. Yes, it tasted great, cooked to the right temperature, but the size of the rack was no bigger than a child's fist. My entree was the most expensive on the menu and also the smallest on the menu. I was very disappointed in that size. The wait staff was great and the atmosphere was just right for couples. I would love to eat there again.

I’m a bit late with this review, we visited mid-August of 2021. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. We made reservations easily through Open Table. They have valet parking, which is a god send in this busy area. We were seated immediately at a table inside, but right next to the beachside patio. We had a great sunset view. Our waiter (and I was I’d gotten his name - the ‘real Greek waiter’) was outstanding. We had some stellar wine (Sancerre) along with the Seafood Dynamite, Clam Chowder, Calamari, cornbread and potatoes. That Clam Chowder was the best thing I’ve eaten in years! That was too much food for us,we ended up taking some back to our hotel and enjoying it later. We also had the Lemon Blueberry dessert. Everything was fantastic, the location can’t be beaten, and we felt so welcomed here.

Went for dinner twice. Had the salmon and the halibut. Both were very good. Staff very friendly and professional.

We ate at the JRDN restaurant several times during our stay in San Diego not only because it was convenient to our hotel but because the food was delicious and the service was excellent. We had breakfast 2x, lunch and then drinks one evening. The prices are reasonable as well. Arnold was our favorite waiter. He was top notch! He even remembered us on subsequent visits & stopped by our table to say hi. Tommy P. is the manager & he was so hospitable and friendly. He wanted to ensure everything was to our satisfaction. Tables provide an amazing view of the beach. We will be back!

JRDN is located on Pacific Beach, which means part of the price you pay is for the view. The food is good but the service is slow. And it's a very noisy environment

I enjoyed dinner with my daughter JRDN on a recent business trip to San Diego, CA. She lives in San Diego, and she selected this restaurant for us, as she lives nearby. We started with JRDN salads, handcrafted to our specifications, and the salads were quite good. My daughter then enjoyed the day boat scallops entrée, and I enjoyed the catch of the day entrée (opa). We shared a dish of ice cream for dessert. The setting in the Tower Hotel was nice (on the beach). Service was excellent. Our bill for two was $153, including a 20% gratuity.

Staying at the Pacific Terrace hotel, we had strolled by the JRDN . It really caught our eye - very cool design, great location with ocean view. Decided to make reservations. Scallop appetizer - tremendous. Sushi rolls - huge - outstanding. Atmosphere - sunset at outside dining area - beautiful. Good cocktails - Old Fashioned, spot on.

From the minute you arrive there you are the center of the staff's attention. Very friendly and prompt. Extremely professional service yet very friendly. Bevrages and food are spot on. We will definitely go back

Don’t come here if you’re darker than a paper bag. Your livelihood won’t be safe. They intentionally serve caucasian people first and will gaslight you saying they didn’t mean to. Beautiful scenery but it’s not worth the discrimination. It’s 2024 and San Diego is still a sundown town. How unfortunate.

Very good filet steak and shrimp cocktail. This was our anniversary dinner this year. Great food and service. They also provided a slice of banana bread free for our anniversary dinner. Very nice gesture.

Venue is very cool, dress to impress atmosphere. The service was good, the server knew his stuff! But the 1/2 Lobster for $39 was rubbery and over cooked. I had to use a steak knife and still had trouble cutting it. The fried rice medley was a weird mix and not tasty! The $58 ribeye was also over cooked (we ordered medium rare and it was medium-medium well). All the plates looked nice, presented well, and sounded "really cool" reading them on the menu. I'm fine paying a high price for a delicious meal. But the taste just didn't represent, especially for the price! There are LOTS of great places to eat in PB, this is not one of them. Go here to dress up and have some drinks.

This is a nice place on the boardwalk with seating in the sun as well as in the shade. The drinks are great, try the Mule! The oysters are also tasty. Good views and friendly servers. The host/hostess need to become more welcoming but once you get a table it’s all good!

This is a spot we’ve been many times when visiting SD. The service is always great and makes us feel right at home. The ahi tuna nachos and sushi options are always delicious. But one of the best parts is absolutely the view, highly recommend visiting just before sunset - the view of the sun setting over the Pacific is unparalleled.

We ordered take out and sat on the beach. The food was fantastic. Fresh, tasty and well prepared. Couldn't ask for a better holiday dinner.

I ordered the fish and chips so that is all I can comment on. 3 nice sized pieces of cod so definitely a generous portion amount. Pushing on the fish with my fork you could see the grease bubble up. Fish that is dry and stringy I would expect to find in a "greasy spoon" diner, not an upscale restaurant. The service was good; it is a shame the food doesn't match.

You won't want to leave JRDN, maybe because of the incredible people watching from the glassed in patio, or the impeccable presentation of all the favorites from fish tacos to poke to beet salad to burger. The wine list is perfect and the location unbeatable. Eat, drink then walk the beach or rent bikes and make it a day.

Enough said ! Oh and btw service was awesome Excellent value for money considering the location and atmosphere..I’d eat here all the time if I could 😁

After our long flight, and checking into our hotel, the concierge recommended JRDN. The food and service was great. I had fish tacos with side salad, very tasty and fresh. My husband had the ahi sandwich, it looked awesome. We sat outside and loved the view.

Let’s start with the negative - when you pay premier pricing you certainly expect premier service. Our waitress and I use that term loosely was disinterested she forgot our drink order and once she had dumped our food on the table not once did she come back to see if everything was ok or if we wanted more drinks (I sat with an empty glass for my whole meal). Maybe she thought the table of five that she had would be more lucrative. On the positive the food was hot, plentiful and very tasty, I wish I could have tipped just the kitchen staff!

We had the Gnocchi special as an Entree and split it! NEVER have we had such a great meal as we did. Added Korean lamb lollipops and it was terrific. They have a very creative chef here - do not miss going here.......And the service - very good. Wished we had another nite - we would have gone back to taste other things.......

Delicious brunch! Made reservations and had a great table on patio with nice view. Had a super friendly server who was perfect!!! The food was super fresh!

JRDN is the restaurant attached to Tower23 Hotel where we stayed for 4 nights. The restaurant is always busy from morning to night and walking by the ocean-side dining area - all of the food looks amazing. We had breakfast one morning and the food was so good. Omelette's, Chipotle breakfast wrap, even the sour dough toast was excellent. Staff most helpful and attentive. And you're right on the ocean!

We went here early in our trip. Some of us had sushi and others had sandwiches and salads. Loved that they had so much variety on their menu. Something for everyone in a big group. We loved it so much that we went back 3 times. The patio is one of the best spots in SD for outdoor dining. The fish is very fresh. One of our guests is hard to please. He had the fish and chips and said it was the best he has ever had. It’s a really special place with a hip vibe.

Second time at the tower, and it was great. A super cool and unique place, with a location that can't be beat. Staff was fun and accommodating, and the room was great. Access to the beach is unparalleled, and you can use bikes and other amenities with ease. We had to switch rooms during the stay and the staff was super helpful in making sure that we always had a place to go. JRDN is great for a drink and people watching!

My poke salad had nothing special about it. It was good cause I was hungry. I've been coming to Jrdn for years. The view is amazing. Right on the boardwalk. Springtime lunch or summer sunsets are my favorite! What made this visit special were Abby the hostess and Philip our server. Abby was so accommodating to my request to get just the perfect table for us as we had out of town guests from San Jose and Greece with us. Philip from Bulgaria was polite and entertaining. Full of good cheers. These two made my ratings go up, not the poke salad.

Reading the reviews I see that several people have had an unpleasant experience regarding their open tables. We had dinner there the night before spending something like $150. The next day my wife went shopping and I stopped by there for a beer. I sat at the outside bar and with the wind blowing I became a little chilled. There were at least 5 open tables in the sun and I made the horrible mistake of sitting at one just to get warm. I was very careful not to disturb the table in any way. After about 3 minutes of sitting the the manager came flying out and informed me that all of the tables were reserved and I had to get out. I was pretty embarrassed. All the waitress had to do was to tell me that they had a guest ready to sit there and I would have gladly moved no need to make a big scene of it. And as a side note their $20 poached lobster was really bad. More like a shrimp than a lobster.

Seldom do we eat in the restaurant of our hotel, but this was really nice with good food, very convenient, pretty friendly folks and relaxing. Outside seating has good views, sunsets are great, can be a little noisy, We are headed back.

We didn't have a great experience. There were two long black hairs in our food, and it was cold. The server had an attitude as well. Although the atmosphere was vibrant and the ocean view was beautiful, the food and service were lackluster.

The location is just about perfect, the ambient is modern and glamorours, the crew and waiters incredbly nice and attentive. And the food? Very good. The sushi was very good, the rucola sald was super fresh and tasty and the fried calamary were good too. Maybe a tad small for spanish andalucian standards but normal size for CA. Beer was good but maybe a tad expensive at 20 dollars a 20oz Stella, but not over the edge. And ... a couple side benefits are the 2hr parking included . Thats a huge bonus in La Jolla and also the incredible sunset view just from the terraze. Sometimes its not only the food that deserve 5 stars.. its the experience.

Took my friend to lunch on a beautiful afternoon and we sat on the patio. very accommodating in every way as i rated 5 stars in every category on Open Table! love having this local dining place to enjoy!

We had dinner here twice on our trip. I got tenderloin both times and it was fantastic. Loved the smashed fingerling potatoes! Hubby loved his scallops and sushi. Drinks are amazing. Very friendly and attentive service. We will be back on our next trip!

I walked by this place a few times during my stay and it was always busy out on the patio from breakfast through dinner. It certainly is a sleek & swanky looking place. I came in for what I hoped would be happy hour and sat at bar overlooking the patio and beyond to the craziness of the PB boardwalk and the seafront view. Because it was Saturday there was no happy hour. The bar offered typical pub grub and I had beef sliders and a Mexican beer. It seemed pretty much like any other bar in PB in spite of it's upscale decor. It didn't make me feel chic, sophisticated or classy. The famed sunset wall was changing colors but I think it's a bit overrated. Maybe I have just outgrown the crudeness of the PB vibe and just found this place to not even belong there. It seemed more La Jolla style or maybe Carlsbad. I certainly like other beaches better than PB.

We tried JRDN Thursday night for dinner. The atmosphere, food and service were good but nothing stood out as outstanding. Being on the Board walk is the best thing about the restaurant.

We ordered breakfast to our room at the surf pad (on the 3rd floor) above this cool restaurant on the day we were checking out! This restaurant has a great menu and a awesome location! All the employees have excellent customer service! All the food seems to be made to order with very very fresh ingredients! Jesse took our breakfast order and delivered it to our room in 11 minutes after I hung the phone up with him! Fresh brioche French toast with a side of crispy bacon, and a veggie feta omelette with homemade potatoes that my wife enjoyed while looking and hearing the ocean from our room! Great restaurant with great employees! Thank you to everyone that keeps things hot and fresh for their customers! We will definitely be back for more!

Great food, great Service! Only downside was the odd menu change at 4 pm - caught some of our travelers unaware and they could not get what they wanted. Shout out to the wonderful valets: Austin, Austin and Bryan - taking care of our large group of cars all at once like champions with nobody left to wait!!

We stayed in the Tower23 hotel one night, and this is the hotel inside the restaurant. We actually had a small bite at happy hour the night before, but all I can attest to there is the miso soup and ginger salad, both of which I would absolutely get again. But the next morning we had a stellar breakfast! We sat inside as it was quite chilly out, and got a table right by the window so we had the same view as if we were sitting on the patio. Although I must say that the patio itself seemed to retain a reasonable amount of heat, between the heaters and glass walls, so it probably would have been OK too. We thought we might end up being a party of 7 (ended up only being 3), and we were easily accommodated at 11 am. We started with a gigantic sticky bun (apple flavor) that could have served 7 people as an appetizer! It was huge and delicious. We also ordered a bottle of cava and three different fruit juices with which to make our own mimosas - so refreshing! My favorite was the blackberry-mint flavor. I ordered the avocado toast, which was so much more than just avocado toast - it was served with a huge portion of some of the fluffiest eggs I've ever had, fresh fruit, and there was a light but distinctive lemony note to the avocado toast - unexpected but very tasty! I also tasted someone else's french toast, which was decadent and soooo good. Would definitely recommend and return!

We have dinner reservations for 8 ladies to celebrate a Bachelorette party. They reserved an incredible table outside with a stunning view of the sunset. We also requested to have champagne waiting for a toast as we sat down, which they successfully and promptly delivered on. Our waitress, Michelle, was absoltuly incredible. She answered all our questions about the menu, offered great suggestions and had such a positive energy overall. She was a pleasure to meet. The food was absolutely delicious as well. Several ladies had steaks, I had the Wagyu which was recommended by Michelle and it did not disappoint at all. We also had incredible seafood, oysters, crab and lobster rolls. The Som was also incredible. He offered great recommendations after we mention the styles of wines we were looking for and even a tasting as well. He was extremely knowledgeable. We also very much appreciated the manager coming to speak with us after our meal to check in, but also so we could let him know how amazing Michelle was and the chef. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice dinner with beautiful ambiance in San Diego.

Over the years, I’ve been here many times and it’s consistently good quality food, plenty of cocktail choices and they don’t hurry you out the door. Love the people watching aspect of course, and on a beautiful day as today, best place to enjoy everything San Diego has to offer. Only the corking fee is somewhat high. Otherwise, put it on your list!

We reserve a table for my daughters birthday, and we got surprised to the best view to begin with, got our delicious appetizers and drinks quickly the Ahi nachos were so crispy and fresh, the mussels were cooked to perfection, the Calamari so crispy, my mouth is watering ! The speed trio was amazing ! . Our table of 10 got different dishes every one was satisfied with our plates , I got the skirt steak with macnchees, and smoked mashed potatoes , the presentation and taste of our plates were amazing, so good the team of your kitchen is amazing and fast ,I wish I can mention all your team that worked on the evening of August 28 , I want to give a shout out to Aiden and our server Arnold 👏👏👏 thank you so much for helping us make my daughters birthday so memorable , we will be celebrating our family and friends with you. Thank you so much everybody I’m not forgetting to thank the ballet parking he was very friendly and fast, I’m so grateful to you 🙏🏼❤️

I just visited JRDN yesterday and was very pleased with their Sunday Brunch. Prices were reasonable for what I was getting. Flavor was very good on every plate me and my friends had. Coffee was very good and the view was great. I will come back. I had the JRDN breakfast (I'm on a diet so can't have the more juicy stuff), and it was pretty good! My wife had the French Toast which was very tasty and my friends had the Huevos Rancheros and Chilaquiles which were also quite amazing. Loved it!

Unparalleled location right on the beach with surprisingly interesting menu, great food and terrific service.

From beginning to end, a wonderful, welcoming, professional and delicious experience! Each hostess that welcomed us was warm, kind and speedy. Our servers were consistently charming, knowledgeable and hard working. We’ve eaten almost all our meals at JRDN during our 5 day stay and had the pleasure of working with Filip, Marty, Mari and Justine. They all added greatly to our enjoyment. The leadership team of Chris and Carrie have clearly set the tone of a professional working environment where guest experience is a top priority…the food, the service and the environment show it. And they, the leadership team, always makes sure their guests, including us, have a terrific time. We know we’ll be back for many more delightful experiences!

We stayed at Tower23 and decided to try the JRDN. Our server, Morgan, was the best we have ever encountered and we eat out often. She went over the top taking sunset pictures while keeping our courses coming and our goblets full. The food was top notch as well. I had the Lobster Roll and my wife had the Butternut squash Lobster pasta. They were both amazing. Had the pretzel bites as an appetizer and enjoyed those as well. They checked every box and truly deserve 5 stars. Our favorite PB restaurant by far.

The staff was excellent and food was delicious! They even had a birthday dessert for the birthday boy!

Wife and I, visiting adult children and young grandchildren dined on New Year's day, my Wife's birthday,. We have dined here several times in recent years. We shared a 1/2 pound appetizer of a lobster tail and claw, which was tasty and fresh. Two adults at the table had the Cioppino and were very happy with their choice. I went light with a mixed green salad and a glass of wine. The two grand kids had the "fishsticks and fries" which in reality were more like a standard order of fish and chips on the adult menu. One being out of sorts, refused to eat, so we all shared in devouring his remaining fish and chips which were delightful. Very fresh cod, and just lightly battered as they should be served. Prices are not in expensive, but not exorbitant either.

Our food was amazing (ahi tuna nachos, and protein & lobster sushi). Our server (one of the bartenders was great). It was too noisy for our preference; but it is a lively location/ambience. If we were in the area for 4-5 days, we'd likely go back; but we've a few other nearby choices we like better (because of the noise).

I really liked JRDN located next to the tower 23 Hotel. Maybe the 2 receptionists were a bit snobbish and not super duper welcoming but the rest of staff was very friendly. Food was superb, lots of nice seafood dishes, location is fab. We also enjoyed to pre dinner cocktails that we had in the casual area of the restaurant. Nice and unusual cocktails, perfectly prepared.

Great place for a relaxed breakfast watching the boardwalkers. Loved the eggs benedict , JRDN breakfast, and the breakfast croissant.

JRDN at Tower23 delivered on every level. Seated on time at a perfect outdoor table with a sunset view, we enjoyed quick, excellent drinks and standout food. The mussels with chorizo were the star, and both the salmon and the braised short rib were cooked perfectly with mac and cheese as the ideal side. Service and quality were top tier. Ashley made us feel like VIPs and Arnold took amazing care of us. We will be back.

Excellent food and outstanding service. Everything was delicious and the staff was welcoming and efficient. We had beef short ribs, salad with salmon and cheesy biscuits! YUM. We had an epic sunset tonight so our evening was perfect! Thank you to George, our server.

We love taking people here as it never fails to please. The menu is varied and its all delicious. Lots of salads, sandwiches, plus incredible seafood and sushi. The views are amazing and there is comfortable indoor seating as well. Service is good and we come here often.

This is a very attractive restaurant with a lively bar scene. Service was great and the prices are very reasonable. But our food was below par. Fish Tacos were tortilla and shredded cabbage with very little and very bland fish. Beet salad was average and included candied beets, yuck. Fries were pretty good.

Looking forward to a “kids free” cocktail in the afternoon, we choose Jrdn for the ocean views, ambience and interesting, although pricey, menu we saw on line. All of those things were spot on perfect, especially our unique cocktails. I had Penacillin, served up and chilled. Delicious. Our server, Jared, was a new hire, who was personable and attentive in the near empty dining room. So where did this all go wrong? Specifically, when a 10 inch hair was pulled out of the first piece of sushi on our specialty roll. Gross! Ok. It happens. We got Jared’s attention; he removed the roll with an apology. He returned to tell us he reported the situation to the chef and manager. A new roll was presented by a man wearing jeans and a sweater. He wasn’t Jared nor was he dressed in high end restaurant staff attire. He did not introduce himself and made no comment other than to say, “Here is your new roll.” No apology, no “round of drinks” or complimentary roll. Nothing! Our bill was $102.63 for two sushi rolls and four drinks during the official Happy Hour in Pacific Beach. Any respectable, high end restaurant would have made some kind of gesture for including a 10 inch hair in their food presentation, but not Jrdn. Oh well. Look closely at your food.

I don't know where to begin. Went for our anniversary dinner. Seated outside on a beautiful night. Went on a night when the wine was 1/2 off which was a nice surprise. We had a great waiter, Jay D. He knew the menu inside and out and gave great recommendations . I had the special of the day which was swordfish, and the corn that was served with this meal was out of this world. Hubby had steak and we were so glad that we listened to the recommendations for the rubs to use and side dishes. We had the hummus appetizer. 3 different types of hummus, so good. For dessert we shared what I would describe as a butterscotch pudding. It was heaven on a spoon. Thank you, Jay for the recommendation. Would NOT recommend bringing small children here. It is just not that type of place. For some reason a mother brought her two small children here and they acted age appropirate, but not for this type of place. The Staff did their best to keep them quiet. While it was frustrating to hear small children crying and whining, there was nothing the restaurant staff could do about it.

Connected to a hotel, the restaurant faces the "boardwalk" and ocean is visible from some tables. It was overcast the day we ate there. Waiter was excellent and when checking to be sure an item wasn't cooked with butter, he checked and said it had been and so brought another batch of the breakfast potatoes that was butter free. Pancakes can be ordered in two sizes however, both choices are 11 inch diameter and difference is either two or three of these gigantic sized pancakes. Other 8 meals came and were said to be good. (eggs benedict, rolled tacos aka taquitos, etc.)

The best ahi tuna nachos , and sushi meals are fantastic... (protein, lobster, roulette, crunchy...) all of then are incredibles...!!! Try it, you won't regret it

Dined at JRDN for Sunday brunch and had a wonderful breakfast. Service was great as was the food ordered by our dining party of four. We ordered short rib hash, lox eggs benedict, avocado toast, and vegetable scramble along with mimosas. The view was fabulous sitting right along the boardwalk. Would definitely recommend.

Not surprisingly, the restaurant team at JRDN remains exceptional with true professionals at the helm in the form of Karey, Chris, Roxy and Dave. The servers are inordinately charming and attentive... like Philip, Justine, Mari, Martin, Michelle and George. Of note, the whole team is very LGBTQIA+ welcoming. The food remains delicious, fresh, modern and consistent...and reasonably priced. Our only concern…getting on the scale after a bunch of exceptional meals at JRDN! Of course the view and people watching is incomparable…so, fantastic food/drinks, exceptional and personable service, and a great venue… truly, what more could we ask for? Every time we drive to PB from AZ, we wonder why we ever bother to get on a plane when this gem is just a few hours away.

Stayed at Tower 23 and ate several meals here. Chips and guacamole, mahi mahi tacos, lobster BLT, sushi, pancakes and veggie egg breakfast scramble - all delicious. Beautiful view to enjoy while eating. Would highly recommend.

We stayed at Tower 23 in which this restaurant was located. We ate here twice and drinks twice and all times it was a nice experience. We wanted fish and chips one night that was on the lunch menu but not on the dinner menu. They made it for us for dinner nevertheless. That was a nice touch. Very customer oriented, excellent service!

JRDN is the best restaurant on the boardwalk. Best view, best food, and over the top service. Kudos to managers Chris and Carrie and service team members Marty, Mari, Filip, and Justine. They make guests feel truly welcome.

A friend and I had breakfast here during a recent visit to Pacific Beach. The food was very good - a little expensive but you're also paying for the location and view. Our server was pleasant and attentive. I wish we had been there on a weekend so we could have tried the brunch.

JRDN is an amazing spot to watch the sunset and people watch. We went on a Friday night so it was a bit loud and crowded but had a delicious dinner (ahi nachos were amazing). Kids liked being outside and seeing the people walk by on the boardwalk. Service was great.

We had high expectations but it is not worth it. Bad food and expensive. Too much condiments in the breakfast and not well combined. Definitively a bad and expensive option. The only plus is that it is near the beach

We ate here a few times on our last stay. The mussels are amazing; great sea food options as well. I had the skirt steak which was done very well. Good wine by the glass selections as well. Not too many options for lunch.

I booked this brunch spot following some trip advisor reviews. Thoroughly enjoyed my brunch on the patio at JRDN over the Christmas break. It was a wonderful, sunny day and the patio was in the perfect position to enjoy a meal, relax, people watch. The server was a friendly fella...and the hostess was kind in advising about the seating options. The establishment/restrooms were clean and I can't think of any fault with my experience here (except that it was such a spectacular day, that I wanted to just stay there all afternoon). Don't hesitate to venture to JRDN when in Pacific Beach!

This was our first visit to JRDN for dinner. From what we have read on prior reviews, closely examine those folks that have stayed at the Tower 23 hotel and dined at this restaurant; they would have more experience backing up their reviews than this one. However, we really liked the restaurant, ocean-front and interior ambiance, the food and staff. The sea bass was superb. Raw oysters were average quality. Kobe beef sliders ... not great. A lot of interesting items on the menu and we would return to experiment.

We had six PM reservations. We were seated immediately. The atmosphere was vibrant! And that is where it stopped. We ordered a glass of wine and local beer. A bit of a wait for simple drinks. We ordered oysters on the half shell, and by we I mean two people. They brought the oysters out with one fork. So we took turns eating as we could not get anyone's attention. Finally, we ordered the Fried Whole Red Snapper straight off the Menu. About ten minutes later, our waitress returned to tell us we would need to order something else, as they only had one Red Snapper in the entire restaurant and it was already gone. What the heck? So, ordered the Halibut and it was fine the first few bites, then sawdust (way overcooked). we Paid. We Left. Went around the corner to a little fresh seafood place and had a great meal.

Good appetizers but service and entree were almost inedible. Cold fish and my kids who eat everything didn’t have more than two bites as it wasn’t tasty and we waited one hour and 15 minutes for dinner after the appetizers. Waiter kept apologizing but we sat at 6:15 and finished at 8:30. That’s just too long.

Trendy upscale restaurant without being stuffy. We ate inside but seated along the glass wall, great view of beach and people watching. We had the filet mignon and salmon, both were delicious and cooked perfectly. The mango sorbet was YUM!

A pleasant surprise in that part of town. Impeccable service, great and fresh food, lively ambience. Just a place for a great evening. The view on the ocean is just rounding up the ambience!

After a long day of sight-seeing, my husband and I had a late dinner at JRDN. As guests of the attached hotel (Tower23) we had 2 free drink coupons and did not have to pay to park. We shared the Ahi Tuna Nachos and 2 sushi rolls (Sundown and Cali Dreamin'). The food was delicious and the service was good. As guests of the hotel we know the ocean view is beautiful from the patio seating. Highly recommend.

The food was great and the drinks were delicious! Great waitress and fun, relaxing lunch! The lobster sandwich and brisket sandwich were amazing!

I have not been back to PB for over 30 years so this was a real great find to meet up with family in town and watch the sunset. Very good service and selection at the bar before we went outside for our table at 6:00PM last Saturday. The choice for me was OPA on special served with a rice medley and a Sancerre wine. For the others, Oysters to start finished with Scallops. Awesome view, easy valet parking (free) and service.

A beach side upscale restaurant. We were there to see the sunset - most had reservations, but we were lucky and still got a spot with a great view of the sunset. Good service and good sushi roll and lobster pozole, and a spectator sunset! Next time I'd try to make a reservation just to be safe.

This restaurant was recommended by our Hotel receptionist because apparently the fish is very good. Well.....as soon as you get in you are asked if you want to sit in the "full service" area or in the "casual area".The difference is that they put a tablecloth and napkins in the full service area which for me is normal, I am italian and we are used to have tablecloths and napkins (I mean not paper ones)but apparently in California it's not the case. Anyway we ordered the catch of the day which was a white fish filet. Usually when you order the catch of the day the waiter should show you the fish and then you should get the whole fish not only the filet!I am saying this because this was the "fancy" part of the restaurant. We ordered one glass of wine and they did not even showed us the bottle! I ordered a prosecco and I got a moscato (big difference!). The fish was covered by some garlic sauce and we ended up paying more than 100usd. I was not satisfied at all but probably I was expecting something different. If the fish was seasoned only with some olive oil and lemon it would have been so much better. I wanted to taste the three sorbets dessert and I asked which flavours sorbets they had and one of them was foie gras, that totally made me not want to have dessert and the waiter did not even offer to bring me just the two other sorbet flavours????This is not the service I am used to have at a fancy restaurant. Save your money there are plenty of places in PB.

What a perfect beach restaurant! The sunset view is spectacular, the food is delicious and the staff is super friendly. Our server Julie was amazing with great suggestions and the whole team worked together seamlessly. We’ll be back!

Overall the food is awesome I thought - had some sushi, and a couple of apps - all very nice. Beef sliders were my fave. With the had better beer selection but it was fine. But the staff was all into themselves and not focused on me - the customer. The folks at the front desk of the hotel were #1 in customer service.............. the JRDN management should learn from them.

I loved the drinks, rose, and lunch or dinner options! we ate more than we imagined we could and it was all amazing. the kids in our party also had a great time.

I ate in the bar, which is the indoor part around the bar. Full menu offered. Service was attentive, and the view was adaquate, although for a reservation you could sit on the boardwalk.

Has more of an upscale feel. Scenic view and outdoor seating on the waterfront. great breakfast/brunch menu

I loved this bar/restaurant. During the day, it had a happy hour feel; at night, a lounge-like vibe.

This was my second visit to this restaurant. The first was a Friday at the height of Happy Hour and the crowds were so dense we could not hear ourselves talk at the table. So we went again today for outdoor beach side patio lunch. The service was really good and we were appreciative of the parking privileges at busy Pacific Beach. Friend's club sandwich was good--what could one do to it? Our chopped salad was nice but they are known for their burgers and we had one, perfectly cooked to medium rare, but way way too salty. All in all,for beach location, a good spot we'd try again. Don't expect a foodie mecca--that it is not.

Had a really good meal with my family tonight. Food was first class I had pork chop and it was amazing. My cousin and his wife more than happy with theirs...only have a four as I know in USA servers want to be nice for tips sometimes overnice can be annoying...

This is right on mission beach boardwalk and has beautiful views of the water. Varied menu-everyone in the family was happy. Took a little bit to find since the hotel/restaurant are north of Tower 23-actually past tower 25

We watched the sunset from the outdoor patio and it was absolutely lovely. I had the steak and fries and the steak was delicious, as was the bearnaise sauce. The service was friendly and fast.

We went here for Easter dinner with a party of six. I had the poke rolls for an app and filet for dinner. The filet was a little over cooked (asked for medium, but got medium-well), but it was still very good. The poke rolls were very good. As was everything else we had. Drinks were great, lots of variety. It is not cheap, but it is not ridiculously expensive. Definitely will go back.

We were here with work so we made our way through the majority of the menu. I highly recommend the sushi rolls and the lamb chop- all else was delicious too! I was a little disappointed with a smaller beer list. Atmosphere inside the restaurant is modern/contemporary and you have a great view of the ocean, especially around sunset time.

Had a lovely dinner as a family of four. We split an appetizer and then steak and halibut entrees. Food was tasty, plentiful and cooked well. Service was quick. The best meal we had in Pacific Beach.

Best food we had in Pacific Beach. We went for a late dinner and the food was excellent. We ordered the fish crudo, the ‘OH’ roll and the chickpea toast. The toast is so goood I want to recreate at home. Perfect bread and all the seasonings. Our server was ultra nice and we had a great sparkling from Napa and a Chardonnay by the glass. The place has a nice vibe and you can bring kids too as they have a kids menu. Next time we will bring ours for sushi too.

Went there for the mussels, only to be told they were out of mussels (on a Sunday lunch). We had to fall back on the other limited food options on the menu (burgers mostly). We also ordered a side of French fries for our 2-year-old, which were pretty bad and had a weird taste. It's really unfortunate. I am not sure we will go back.

This is one of those places you go for the experience, not necessarily the food. The food was good, but nothing special. The service was outstanding and it was a nice romantic dinner overlooking Pacific Beach. Exceptionally overpriced, but what beach front hotel isn't? It was worth it for the ambiance. I would come back for a date night.

This restaurant has one of the most exceptional beach views in town, and the food is fantastic too. A win-win for any date night!

JRDN is our favorite restaurant! Whether we are there for a family event, a birthday, a date or a business meeting it never disappoints! From the friendly greeting by Austin when he valets our car, to the excellent service from our server Tasi. Bryan also checked on us throughout the evening to make sure everything was perfect. Service extraordinaire! The food was amazing and the special holiday cocktails were off the hook. We can’t wait to go back!

We were lucky enough to have a table right by the window which overlooked the beach and ocean. The views of the sunset were fantastic. We went on a Friday evening and managed to book quite late but it was still very busy. The service was excellent and the atmosphere had a nice vibe. The food is a mix of Asian/Japanese inspired with traditional dishes too. My wife had the fish in a lovely spicy broth and I shared the steak taster menu with my Grandson, the steaks were nice although the skirt was a little tough. The carrots were fantastic, they had a spicy covering and there were enough for all three of us. It’s a little pricy but worth at least one visit. A great bar selection too. Give this restaurant a try if you are in Mission Beach, you won’t be disappointed.

I'll clarify this by stating we did not stay at the hotel, rather we had lunch at JRDN. When we needed to leave to go back to our hotel, grab our bags and head to the airport JRDN informed us the front desk could call a taxi. With the professional, cheerful and incredible help from Jessica and Brisa, we managed to get an Uber (recommended over taxi due to faster service) within minutes. I didn't have an Uber app on my phone and didn't even remember using their service before...but these two ladies helped me reset my password, get access to my account and get a car on site within minutes. I'd give them 10 gold stars if I could. They went out of their way to help a customer from the restaurant...who wasn't even staying on site. Next time we are in San Diego, we are staying at Tower23!

We had the lamb "lollipops" which were delicious, a Caprese salad which was huge and delicious, and the sea bass which was also very good. The place is extremely noisy, so sit out on the patio, where it is also so noisy you have to shout to talk, but it's better than inside. The service was very good. Very casual, so a good place to go if you're in the area, not a special occasion venue. It's the lower floor of a beach hotel which does not have a pool.

Recommended by very young hotel staff, the first impression was not great. The place was loud and inelegant. But a skilled server and good food saved the evening. My dining companion has food sensitivities and they prepared her meal exactly right, and my fish was delicious.

My fellow early morning walkers and I, happened upon JRDN quite by accident, and what a lovely serendipitous accident it was! JRDN is an upscale, beautiful, sleek + modern, restaurant with open bar, lots of glass and great view of the Pacific. Not stuffy and not crowded. Top that off with an amazing menu and top notch service. Total win.

The location is the highlight here, the servers are friendly enough, the food is ok, but very crowded. There's a few different beers available, most of which are good.
Beach venue and delicious food!
We are staying at Tower 23 and this restaurant is attached...great venue to the beach and food is great! My husband had the Umami tuna nachos and they were FABULOUS...I had a Caesar salad & the carrot cake...OMG, the cake is wonderful. We skipped eating there today, but will be back tomorrow. An example of you get what you pay for! Plus the staff is very gracious...
