Trying to find dinner near our hotel when we stumbled upon this gem. Parking lot was full (they offer free valet parking if needed), so we turned around to check it out. We got lucky with seating available in the bar for 5 with no wait. Our drinks came with a complimentary teaser of their signature pimento cheese appetizer. It was delish and we were glad we’d already ordered some along with their yummy Queso. The killer cheeseburger and sweet potato fries was amazing. The pork medallions was melt in your mouth and so flavorful. I can’t remember what everyone had but everyone was a member of the clean plate club at the end. 10/10, We highly recommend!

Love the Sunday Brunch. Always something new, and many favorites. Stacked enchiladas, Granny's Sunday Chicken, and the tomato basil pie is awesome.

I’ve eaten at the Round Rock location with my husband and daughter, but had the privilege of eating at this location on my return trip to Houston after a work trip to Austin. Due to my delicate digestive issues, I chose this place because of the fresh local ingredients always prepared perfectly! Crispy salmon with tomato crab salad was PERFECTION. I’ll be back!!

Our waiter, Jacob, was amazing and gave a great quick audio tour of the tasty menu. We had pineapple pepper margaritas, with brisket enchiladas covered in poblano cream sauce, and fresh strawberry cobbler for desert! YUM! I highly recommend for any occasion. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly and the food was amazing. Kiss the cooks!

This was hands down the best dining experience we had while on vacation in Texas. Jennifer, our server, was very knowledgeable about the menu and her recommendations for our dining was exquisite. Couldn't ask for a better ace to dine.

Love this place. Food is amazing. Love the pimento cheese free appetizer; had to get a jar of pimento Cheese to to take home 😍. I had a burger with cheese, bacon, jalapeño mayo, pickles (had them hold the bbq sauce) - it was amazing. Had the sweet potatoe fries that came with roasted garlic aoeili (sp?) which was a great combination. My friend had the special of the day which was fried shrimp and she said it was great

Ive been going to Jack Allens for about 3 years now! The food never disappoint! When you sit down they bring you out a small dish of their pimiento and cheese with homemade crackers! I love buying a jar and bringing it home! We love this place so much we had our rehearsal dinner the day before my husbands and I's wedding! Everyone that was there was super impressed and loved it! This is a must try Austin restaurant!

All the wait-staff were wonderful, from the hostess (who was personable and friendly) and seated us very quickly, to the waiter who was efficient and very attentive, and took an interest in our dining pleasure. Wonderful menu and drinks are great.

Loved it, the food is spicey and flavourful and the dishes absolutely something special and new. Wouldnt hesitate to recommend. Try the Chicken Fried Beef rib for something new.

Every restaurant we ate at during this trip was excellent and tasty, but Jack Allen’s topped them all I think. Mouth watering burgers, tasty chicken, and pimento cheese dip which was the best I’ve ever tasted. Staff extremely friendly, attentive and helpful

Our waitress was not happy. Never smiled, slow to bring us anything, acted put out to bring us water. Took 15 min after being seated to just get water. At one point my dad asked for cocktail sauce for his seafood and she just said 'no, we don't have that'. Never offered a sub. My dad finally asked for ketchup. Food was meh - 3 of 6 were mediocre. Won't be going back. Party of six for special occasion and didn't feel welcome. Didn't stay for more drinks or dessert.

Atmosphere is good, food Great I recommend there Chicken Fried pork chop huge & delicious I took one home to my husband & he LOVED it. Will go again for take out !!!!

In my opinion this is the best dinner experience in Austin. We have eaten there dozens of times and it is always perfect. The Pork Medallions is amazing. Love the Sunday brunch. The quality of the ingredients is surpassed by none in Austin. The Jack Allen staff is also top notch. Lifelong Fans

Had closer Jack Allen options but went here due to number of really good reviews. What a great dinner this was! Free appetizer was delicious followed by their smashed guacamole which was decadent. My husband had a bbq beef enchilada that was fabulous. The accompanying cole slaw was amazing. The mango shrimp tacos were also delicious. As an added bonus, it was happy hour. Appetizers were 1/2 price & drink prices reduced. Three meals, plus 2 drinks cost just over $50...a bargain. Highly recommend!

We were fortunate in getting a table in the bar area with our group of 5. The place is a bit noisy, but there’s a nice feeling there and the service was very attentive. I really enjoyed the choice of bourbons. I hadn’t had Garrison for a while (can be difficult to find out of Texas), so that was my first choice. The food was good — my choice was quail legs starter and a special taco dish.

From the online info to the friendliness of staff- wonderful dinner. A little Texas “amuse bouche” is offered of chips and their house made pimento cheese. Nice happy hour where apps are half off. Didn’t make it past that section but I would have gone for the filet Oscar as feature of the day. Daily specials offered. Settled with guacamole and then the pork sliders. Amazing. They feature Amy’s Mexican Vanilla ice creams and that was neat to try. If you at are a picky eater and like the modify everything. Some of the features they specifically call out that they will decline your request. Good for them!! Nice place. Nice crowd. Complimentary valet. The hot spot was the outside bar- which I didn’t realize existed until I was walking out. I’ll be back.

Red chile fries are to die for, don't be afraid to try them with the dipping sauce. They don't necessarily sound great, but they are delicious! Waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable, food was amazing! Seriously, anything on the menu here is not going to disappoint you!

I loved coming here with my wife when visiting Austin. During our last visit in October 2018 we thought a stupid bomb hit it. My food was okay ,not great, but then again we are eating in Texas and not in the Mediterranean. I still have visions of my wife's hamburger and I want to puke. It was gnarly looking. The beef patty was more like a uncooked lard patty. Forget the food. Lets talk about the manager. No class!! I would expect the manager at a restaurant to walk over nicely dressed and clean and ask the dining guest what was the problem and what can we do to make you happy. This finely manicured manager came over with his shirt untucked and kneeled down on his knees and started going off not in a rude manner just stupid. Where has the class gone. The review is, if you like raw lard hamburgers and managers that just came off a sports field go here.

I've been to all of the Jack Allen's locations and prefer the Oak Hill location in terms of convenience and neighborhood atmosphere. But no matter which location you choose you are in for an amazing dinner. It's so obvious the food is made fresh, with local ingredients. You can taste the care in every bite. I tend toward the absolutely delicious four cheese Mac and cheese with chicken. It's out of this world amazingly good. My wife usually gets the steak salad, which she claims is the best steak salad she has had anywhere. The portions are huge and filling, but box some up and order dessert. The blondie pie is my favourite dessert ever, anywhere. My wife swears by the key lime pie. As you can tell, we love Jack Allen's. I have never had a meal at any of their restaurants that wasn't top-notch. It's five-star eating in casual, fun, pleasant atmosphere. Honestly can't recommend this place highly enough.

I went for lunch with a group of about 20 people. I was pleasantly surprised and the quick and courteous service. Everyone was pleased with their food. It came out promptly and everyone in the group was served within 5 minutes of each other. They really know how to handle groups, better perhaps than anywhere else I've been lately. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is the food selections are limited and rather uninspiring. But, as I said, the food was done well and everyone in our group was pleased that we chose that Jack Allen's.

Excellent food with great atmosphere and friendly staff. This restaurant in their bathrooms are very clean. Great place to take a date, business meal for the family.

Hard to pick-Food or Service-OK both great. Went two nights in a row-best catfish app ever. Good wine list and great bar service.I will be back every trip to Austin-Going back next week. Kimberly excellent manager, along with Leean. Parker and Tom-terrific service. Best place west of downtown and holds its own anywhere. Good portions-fair prices.

amazing food. I would drive the distance to eat there. Best chicken fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy ever.

Every single thing we ordered was fresh and delicious. All food was prepared correctly. You will find unusual items on the menu that invite exploring and will not disappoint.

Had Quac and martini and fish tacos. Drink comes in it’s own shaker so it’s really 1.5 Drinks.. delicious.. food was fresh and hearty portions. It was good service, crowded when we arrived . We seemed to close the place down at 10pm .. because Westlake is a quiet spot. it’s a chain restaurant we had never been to but friends live close and come to this when they get off boat. Would definitely come again

We celebrated a friend’s birthday here because she’d never been to Jack Allen’s. She loved it and will eat here again when she drives in from New Braunfels. Best deserts!

I started frequenting the original location is the "Y" area. It was terrific. They have a very good menu with very, very unique items, along with many old time favorites. Now they have locations in West Lake, Round Rock and even off Anderson Lane. I have tried all but Anderson Lane location and the food remains terrific. I would recommend you go for Happy Hour. Their Barbacoa Stackers and Ravioli are outstanding!! The Catfish is extremely light and flavorful. At happy hour many of their items are 1/2 off so that is even better. They do get crowded very early almost every day so do not go if you want a quick in/out experience. Go to relax and spend some time with good food!!

I love a farm to table restaurant and Jack Allen's Kitchen did not disappoint. Looking forward to my next visit.

So Delicious! Our group enjoyed our brunch. The biscuits, french toast, and egg dishes were large portioned and enough to share. Our server was delightful and had good recommendations. We were seated by a large table, so the noise level was fairly high.

Jack Allen's has an excellent weekend brunch menu, plus all of their usual delicious offerings. I was there for an Easter Sunday celebration.

They only have one choice of veggies for a meal. The veggies are of course not kid friendly so not really a choice if you bring kids with you. Even the salads included cheese or the dressing had milk. The waiter was no help in trying to find or substitute something. Even the guacamole had cheese?

Arrived on a Saturday at 7:30pm for dinner, no reservations made prior to arrival. Patio seating was available, but we decided to wait for inside. There was a slight wait at the bar for a drink (about 11 min) and our table was ready in 13 min. Our waiter, Chase G, was excellent! Very funny, witty, attentive, attention to detail, and patient with our picky ordering. Our food was delicious and our waiter made the experience top notch. Glad we decided to go last minute. All in all, our waiter is the reason we would return again. Great job Chase!

The food is tasty but served in very small quantity. Rates are on higher side. Service is fast. Reservation is required for group dinner.

Amazing food! We stopped here after a walk around the zoo. Everything was super fresh and my entire family was very pleased with their meals. Probably the best fish tacos I’ve ever had.

Wow - I love the vibe of this place. Fresh, fun and professional. The staff is top-notch -knowledgeable and personable. The menu is extensive and varied. I had to try their enchiladas with eggs. A great size portion. Fresh, cheesy and messy - loved it! My friends were very pleased with their salads and sandwiches. Even though we weren’t doing adult beverages on this trip, I was impressed with their wine, beer and beverage options. This is definitely on my list of “go-to” places in Austin. I will be back to work my way through the menu!

Over priced and difficult to find with GPS. Pressed for time, the server was not attentive and the burger I had was not good. Who eats a hamburger with a sweet bun? Kids were not impressed either.

We visited for Sunday brunch with a reservation and were seated promptly. Service was quick and professional. I had the Green Chile Pork Poutine which was initially delivered cold. It was promptly replaced and once I had a hot meal it was delicious. My wife had the French Toast with Bacon and thought it was very good as well.

Outstanding service and out of this world food! The menu offers something for every pallet regardless of age. T try he portions are huge so be prepared.

Jack Allen's continues to do a great job on all fronts--except the parking! It has been 4 years since I last reviewed the property, even though we have been back a number of times. This is an incredibly "safe" option for dining at any time. The quality of the food, service, environment, menu options, and atmosphere never let you down. For places with very nice (inexpensive for what you get) prices, this is a real rarity in our experiences. As I have stated previously, the parking is really very tight on a busy time. This time (a very late lunch at 3PM) parking was readily available, but there were still many cars in the lot. I hope when any of the neighbors put up their property for sale, Jack buys the land! Parking is a real problem in late afternoon and dinner hour. I strongly suggest calling in advance to know the parking situation. That negative being aired, we will absolutely return! You can't miss here.

Jack Allen's was my first introduction to Austin and it didn't disappoint. The atmosphere was vibrant and lively but not overwhelming. I would highly suggest making reservations because the place gets pack and for good reason. The food is a show stopper here with the drinks coming in a close second. Everything that I ate/drink was simply amazing. For an appetizer I ordered the Red Chile Fries and I couldn't eat them fast enough, they were so good I wish I could have placed another order of them and just carried them around in my pocket and snacked on them throughout the day. The flavors in this dish is amazing, the cheese, the garlic aioli, and the red chile all come together so well that it's like a party in your mouth. Next I ordered the New York Strip which I'm so happy I did, the steak was cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes with pimento cheese is something I now dream about. Everything was cooked so perfectly that I didn't want the meal to end. My waitress was also extremely friendly and came over often to ask how everything was without being overbearing which I can appreciate. I have to say if I am ever in the Austin area again I will definitely be back. I heard they do an amazing brunch as well so that's something to consider when in the area as well.

Went with some friends early on a weekday evening; it was even busy at 6pm, and they accommodated our reservations right away. Great drinks, an impressive Happy Hour menu — the fish appetizer was perfect, and the Happy Hour portion was enough, with another appetizer, for a light dinner. My hubster had the “chicken fried” pork chop, and it was sublime...crunchy outside, meaty and very moist, unlike most overlooked dry ones. Service was spot on, and we’ll be returning, for sure!

We stopped here on our drive from AUS to Horseshoe Bend resort for lunch. Service was great. The food was fantastic! Definitely get the guacamole!

We are frequent visitors to Jack Allen's and really enjoy their take on Austin food. Almost never disappointed on the food side, the food was as good as it always is. The service however was quite disappointing. Our waitress showed little personality or attention to us. The obvious mistakes were made--we had to ask for refills, we had to remind her 25 minutes in we still had not ordered our entrees (we did get appetizers, but the wait for order was way too long), in fact when she returned a few minutes later to take our order we were so far past having eaten our appetizers we choose to pass on the main meal and had dessert elsewhere. A shame for one person's performance to affect an entire meal at a place we love (not to mention a hit to Jack Allen's bottom line as our check was probably 1/3 what it would have been).

Welcoming bar/restaurant with a busy and lively atmosphere. Indoor and outdoor patio area. Excellent menu with lots of options and in particular lots of healthy veggies along with the fried food options. Coleslaw and catfish starter is a excellent dish. Friendly and efficient bar lady was excellent at recommendations and very helpful. Recommend if you are in the Barton Creek area for some local quality food and ambiance

Wonderful place to go! Great food! We went yesterday 10 January for the first time for lunch. We may go again for brunch this Sunday, for my wife's birthday! Great waiter, I believe his name is John.

Jack Allen's Kitchen has a wide variety of offerings from appetizers, to salads, burgers and full meals. Their menu is well thought out and imaginative. The also offer a gluten free menu. I highly recommend Jack Allen's Kitchen.

We went as a family for Mother's Day dinner, on Saturday evening. Everything we had was delicious! We traded bites off of each of our plates and everyone's selected dish was wonderful. I had the Jack hamburger with bacon and hickory bbq sauce. Someone else had the chicken fried chicken, another the pork loin, and someone else the quail. The waitress was very attentive and even brought us a sample of the pimento cheese appetizer (without us asking) when she learned that this was our first visit. I'm not usually a fan of pimento cheese, but it was very good! I would recommend making a reservation.

My wife loves this restaurant and I like it a lot as well! They have a really good happy hour so I definitely recommend checking that out! Also it gets really packed, really quick and you could wait a while just to get seated but we always go to the bar and we are planning to go there again next week!

My first time visit was a little disappointed....local produce but almost no vegetables. This time I am more pleased about my visit. I had the trout and it came with a little more vegetables. Flavors were great and the size of the portion just perfect. The restaurant was very noisy and it was hard to hear the waiter ramble the entire list of specials and what else. And, it was hard to hear my fellow guests. It is the open building and the larger groups that causes this. So be aware or ask for seating elsewhere, if it helps.

We visited at ~11:30 on a weekday and got seated right away, if you arrive much later then that expect to wait. This location dosen't take reservations. Service was excellent and the kitchen was fast once we ordered. At a friends suggestion I tried the Chili Chicken Enchilada Skillet and it was divine. I don't know that I'll every eat anything else there from now on. The folks I was with tried the Pork Medallions and the Green Chili Pork Stew and both looked yummy. For sure I'll try that green Chili Pork Stew since it looks New Mexico style, hopefully it'll have that New Mexico bite and kick.

Love fresh and creative foods! Not so creative that you don't know what you are eating, the ingredients are local. Items for kids don't raise eyebrows of even the picky eaters.

The appetizers are amazing. Some of my favorites are Bacon-Wrapped Texas Quail, Blue Crab Gratin, and Crunchy Catfish and Slaw. Also, I’ve been happy with their Soup of the Day. And the size of the appetizers is consistently generous. Servers have always been warm, knowledgeable, and seem to enjoy being helpful and making a good connection. This is some of the best food I’ve ever had in a restaurant, and combined with the friendly and generous service, eating here has just been delightful!!

Horrible experience. 11/13/21 4 people on our way to a wedding stopped in for a cocktail at Jack Allen’s on Hwy 71. Found a free hi top table in bar area. Walked up to the bar and tried to order 4 drinks. Female bartender said we would have to place our order with a server, but the server was at a pre shift meeting. How long? Her answer I don’t know a few minutes maybe. What! Then a male bartender came over and took our order. Thank you. We went back to the hi top table, took an empty chair from another hi top so all 4 of us could sit. A few minutes later a server came over and we told her we already ordered but she would probably have to bring us the drinks. Then, I guess the manager came over and said we had to get up because he had to move the table so there would be a walkway. Then he took one of the chairs and pushed it to the bar. My friend said, where do I sit. He said you can’t only three seats at the table. What a joke. Is this what Covid-19 has done or is this place that bad. We walked out and gave our business to Shore Restaurant.

My son was married in Austin last Friday. The reception party at Zilker Park Clubhouse was Saturday afternoon and we hired a local taco truck to serve our guests. After we loaded everything up, we wanted something nicer for dinner because it was the last night with my family members, who drove long distances to get to Austin. It was 9 o'clock P.M. and we were hoping we could find a decent place at that hour. Our party of seven only had to wait a few minutes to be seated. Kelsay was our waitress and she was courteous and attentive. All of our meals, from entree salads to steaks to quesadillas, were perfect with one exception: the owners do not advertise that there is someting spicy in some of the entrees. Now, I am a pepperhead and I grow 17 varieties of peppers. I love the endorphin rush of really hot food. However, some people don't like spicy. My sister ordered a salad with Green Godess dressing and it burned her mouth for the rest of the evening. She was in tears and hold ice on her tongue.. When we commented to our waitress, she shrugged it off and said that the Green Godess dressing had some hot spices added. I told her that Green Godess is a mild dressing and that they needed to detail on their menu that the dressing was spicy. Another shrug. I get the Texas pepperhead persona, but a decent restaurants should consider and have compassion for all of their guests.

Was in Austin for the Longhorns game and to see my sister. We got there around 10:30 and had a little bit of a wait. Once seated our waitress Bri made sure we were well tended to. They do a brunch buffet only with several options. The enchiladas, cheese grits and Grandmas chicken were by far my favorites!

I have hosed 4 work happy hours there and they are great. Their appetizers are delicious and plentiful, Shane (the server I always get on the patio) is great and the vibe there is perfect for a happy hour or work dinner.

I had lunch at Jack Allen's Kitchen in Oak Hill with my brother and sister-in-law; we elected to dine in the large patio area that is screened-in and covered but which had a wonderful breeze passing through it. The service was attentive and the food was delicious. I recall having dined at this restaurant several years ago and found it enjoyable, as was the case on this visit. I had the pesto-marinated crab stuffed chicken (grilled chicken breast stuffed with blue crab, red bell peppers and jack cheese, chef's veggies, and Cajun cream sauce), which was great. My brother and his wife each had the Crispy Salmon, which then enjoyed as well. We will certainly return to this restaurant.

We visited family in the Austin area and chose the Oak Hills location for a busy Friday evening. We did have reservations which I would highly recommend. Our experience was outstanding from the minute we arrived. Our request for a booth was granted almost immediately. Our server Bri, may have been the most knowledgeable and friendly wait person we have ever experienced. She was well rehearsed on all the specials and could answer every question. We had 4 different entrees, 2 were fish and 2 were pasta- all were excellent!. It was such a pleasant evening we made reservations for the amazing Sunday brunch which did not disappoint at all! I hope everyone who dines here has an equally wonderful time.

I've been there twice, only because I live in NH. It is such fantastic food and service, you should stop what you're doing and go there right now!

I had been here for lunch and had a great experience and this time I went for lunch. I had the ruby trout. Everything was wonderful -- service, cleanliness, and food. Jack Allen's says that everything is scratch made, but I voiced my scepticism to the waitress. "A lot of places say they have homemade desserts, but they just pour canned filling into a frozen piecrust and only bake them on site. Do you really make the apple crumble from scratch?" "Believe it," she said. "I watched them peel the apples this morning." So I ordered the apple crumble and it was excellent. It came with a scoop of Amy's ice cream -- the best ice cream in Austin and maybe the best anywhere.

Had a 'get out of the house" dinner here. Really like this place. Nice warm atmosphere. The staff wore masks and patrons were socilally distanced. The chicken nacho starter was amazing. The chile mango shrimp tacos were excellent and the baja styled tacos were wonderful. A nice place.

Loved the Pumpkin Chicken with artichokes and mushrooms. The brownie dessert with coconut and Mexican vanilla ice cream was outstanding! We all were pregnant level fullness. Waitress and wait staff were friendly and attentive.

We dined here on a Friday evening and it was packed. I got the impression this restaurant has been around a while and has a loyal following. The main dining room is comfortable and large with a vaulted ceiling. There is a sizeable outdoor seating area also with it's own bar. Our table was inside next to the windows overlooking the backyard and trees there. Service was good overall with a few glitches. Our waiter was colorful in his description of dishes which was enjoyable. The food was tasty. We had the trout and fish tacos which we enjoyed. I recommend the Twisted Goat Amber Ale also.

Great service. Bartender was fantastic...made the perfect dry martini...shaken, not stirred, and a great margarita. The appetizer was big enough to make a meal by itself. The crab stuffed chicken was out of this world.

love this place great breakfast buffet. We are going there on Mothers DAy (my birthday ) this year and made our reservations way in advance so that we were sure to get in

I had high hopes for this place because of it’s proximity to my home. However, my disappointment was beyond beyond. I’ve tried this place over and over. From Christmas party dinners for my company, to lunches, dinners, you name it. Every time, and I do mean every single time not only was I disappointed but my entire party was. I don’t know how this place stays in business but I can assure you I will never go again I don’t think anybody ever gone there with Wil every time, and I do mean every single time not only was I disappointed but my entire party was. I don’t know how this place stays in business but I can assure you I will never go again I don’t think anybody ever gone there with will. Did I mention overpriced as well?

Lovely menu with a variety of salads, sandwiches and full lunches. The Ruby Trout was excellent and a generous portion. The chicken enchilada was a bit blah. My friends Cobb Salad looked amazing...but the highlight was the Bloody Mary!

My son, who lives in Austin, took us to eat here. The waitress was great at recommending an appetizer and main course. I has the very best AND freshest margaritas ever! We had guacamole for an appetizer and it was so fresh and topped with pumpkin seeds and feta cheese. I ordered the chorizo stuffed pork tenderloin medallions and they were delicious! They will chicken fry any steak for you, which made my husband very happy. You know you are getting the best and mostly locally sourced food. I can't wait to go back!

Love the food, ambiance , prices, and Michael the bartender. But make reservations because it is not a secret that Jack Allen is a great place to eat.

They do a good job refreshing the brunch food and keeping them fresh. The service is good for drink refills etc. I think overall we prefer the regular menu but the brunch was nice for a family meet up. Most of the items are very cheesy. Also had a good jumbalaya and sausage. The dessert pastries were light and delicious.

We had read the rave reviews so wanted to eat here, but hadn't realised they only do buffet brunches on weekends. My husband was really looking forward to trying their chicken-fried beef ribs but of course that was the one dish not included in brunch (and it was not possible to order it from an a la carte menu either)... We were driving through and happened to arrive at peak lunch time so we faced a 40-minute wait. There's no decent waiting area: you can stand outside (it was a cold and windy day) or try to find a spot where you won't be in anyone's way in the limited space between the front door and the staff station. I would have sat in my car but we had to park a bit off (again, peak...). I realise the waitstaff were busy but for us on the waitlist, it was frustrating to see tables waiting to be cleared after patrons had left, and the same tables then standing empty for up to 10 minutes before a party was seated there. Once we got seated, the service was attentive and efficient, with drinks arriving promptly and frequent water refills. The food was amazing, which is extra impressive in a buffet - in their favor, the food didn't exactly have time to lie around during this time of day, and the sort of comfort food they serve doesn't fare too badly even when people shovel it around. The dessert table was a bit underwhelming, but that was probably a stroke of good luck as I might have burst if they'd had good dessert.

I love the food. The staff is very friendly and helpful especially Taylor and Tonya. This is a great location.

On one of our visits here, the order was messed up and so they more than made it up to us - comping the meal and adding desserts, gratis. That's customer service! Creative menu and delicious food. One small point – if you're vegetarian, the options are a bit limited. Nice atmosphere and friendly service too!

A wide variety of items with some Texas specialties. The steaks we had were excellent quality and very well cooked as per what we asked for. Jalapeno margaritas are delicious. Great service too!

It was great for lunch and will have to try for dinner. Reasonably priced and good service. The meatloaf and pork were great.

We enjoyed a fabulous meal last night with great service and a wonderful selection of locally sourced food. I loved the home made pimento cheese, quail legs wrapped in bacon, crispy gulf snapper and the delicious pumpkin bundt cake with local Amy's ice cream. And the nice crisp French white wine help a lot. Highly recommended.

This is a large and casual place to have a quality meal with great and fun service for a reasonable price. The drink choices are also spectacular.

We were amazed at the excellent choice and the quality of the food. Service was friendly and our server (Dale) had good knowledge of ingredients and how the dishes were presented. The restaurant has its own parking lot and is deservedly very popular. It is best to make a reservation ahead of time.

One of the most popular restaurants/ bars with a great patio in all of South West Austin... Great food, drinks, & beers.... A very creative menu.

Met up with some friends here because it was convenient and we all loved it. Lots of good food on the menu and you really can’t get a bad reasonably priced meal here. I wish I could remember our servers name because she made the night for us. She helped us make choices on the menu and was friendly, accommodating and professional. She explained that the deserts are so good and made on the premises by a very talented woman, and that we had to try them, and we did. This was about the best key lime pie I ever had, and the flourless chocolate cake was definitely the best I ever had. If your in the area and want a casual meal with friends or family this is your place.

This is our first time eating here and we can't go back. It's a farm to table restaurant and they don't disappoint. Came with a party of 4...We tried the crab dip and gorgonzola ravioli for starters. Then, for entrees we got a friend chicken ribeye with supper potatoes, brisket enchiladas (freaking amazing), and chicken Mac and cheese. Lots of food!! Could def share and not order as much.

Mexican martini great! This isn’t the correct name but if you ask for it they should know it. The chicken fried steak isn’t exactly traditional. Jack Allen’s chicken fried is actually a steak while traditionally the meat is a top steak pounded thin or tenderized. Very nice outside seating, covered but not screened. Can be noisy. This is a maybe go back.

Came by this place on a recommendation. Other than arriving on a Sunday about 15 minutes before their brunch service was over, everything about this place was fantastic. We did have to wait to sit in the bar because of brunch on Sunday, but once we got seated, bartenders were terrific… Service was excellent… And the food was outstanding!

Jack Allen's Kitchen has to be on the top of your "places to eat" list when in Austin! The wait staff is so incredibly polished and kind. The food is outstanding and the atmosphere is great. The 5 cheese "Mac & Cheese" and Smoked Beef Rib Quesadillas are the best! Also- they have happy hour 1/2 price appetizers which is an awesome treat! Only negative is the parking....really hard to find spot, but they offer valet. Check them out - you won't be sorry.

From the moment we walked it we were taken care of. Good appetizer, tasty, filling dinner choices, attentive service (Hunter) and an enjoyable dininig atmosphere. We have been here several times and it is always a treat. Thank you.

We were a group of 5 people... 3 adults, 1 teen, 1 kid. We had a 6:30 reservation for Easter Sunday night, but got there early and they were able to get us in right away! Our waiter Jason was very knowledgeable and friendly... he very helpful when we had questions about the menu. Food was very flavorful... I had chicken tinga tacos, others had pork tacos and mango shrimp tacos... both very good and decent portion sizes. The chicken fried ribs were huge and apparently delicious as well. :)

I never thought I'd be a "regular" at any restaurant, but I'm getting close with JAK! The food and the service is consistently fantastic, but as I write this, the selection may be what keeps us coming back. Crispy salmon, trout salad, bbq burger, tacos, and my all time favorite, barbacoa enchiladas ... and every dish has unique flavors that push it over the edge from good to great. I'm there almost every week with my wife or my whole family or my clients ... sometimes all three in the same week, and at each location. I would recommend it to everyone!

We went to a Garrison Brothers Bourbon tasting even that included five courses that had some Bourbon used in the cooking along with paired Garrison Bros cocktails for each course. Private room with David Garrison and Jack Allen both offering their views. Very, very good and very interesting. Garrison created the first legal Texas Bourbon made and has a unique process including 14,000 volunteers to bottle the Bourbon. They also offer tastings at their distillery in Hye, Texas across the road from the LBJ ranch that is now a national park.

Well presented, perfectly cooked and allergy compliant- who could ask for anything more. Grilled Ruby trout without the pesto was delicious. Companion’s turkey burger was excellent too.

Entree's are always perfect, great service, a tad loud, but its a busy place. Wish that had Key Lime Pie on a set schedule....very sad when its out, other desserts are ok, but not even close to the KLP....

Great happy hour for drinks and appetizers are half off. We often eat at the bar so we don't have to wait for a table. The food is always good and the prices are a good value. Friendly staff and easy parking.

Sunday Brunch. Very Good price @$17.99 BUT I would rather pay more and not be eating primarily 1950's style casserole type food. Not enough vegetables with a fresh clean taste, lacked meats like roast beef. Good tasting ham cut into chopped up, bite size pieces. Needs a good omelet station. Extremely NOISY! Can not converse easily. Atmosphere lacking. Extremely good service from Mandy. BUT lots of servers milling around not quite accomplishing anything. And how many hosts and hostesses does it take, Too much busyness around your table. The restaurants in other Texas cities like Houston or Dallas seem to function well but not Austin. There are some, just not a lot of choice. An outstanding restaurant in Austin is Cafe Malta on Brodie, a small intimate bistro with excellent food. A good asian buffet at East Buffet. Yanagi for Japanese. Kerbey Lane for a diner.

Second visit to this wonderful restaurant in the Austin area with several other locations. Visited for dinner before. Nice brunch selections, too and the nice view is available no matter when you dine!

Came here with business associates for dinner after a long day of training. We all enjoyed a nice dinner with excellent food. I had the Ruby Trout and thoroughly enjoyed it. Beer selection was good. Featured many locally sourced brews. Service was excellent also and were never lacking attention.

From the furnishings, to the food, Jack Allen's delivers a great experience at every location, which has unique qualities not found in the others. My wife and I are fond of the Pimiento cheese spread sold for a nominal $5 in mason jars. That way, we extend the goodness from restaurant to home for several days while we enjoy the cheese spread at home.

We were in Austin for my daughter’s wedding and went to Jack Allen’s Kitchen the evening after the wedding. Daughter and new SIL go to Jack Allen’s pretty often so it only seemed natural. We had reservations and were seated right on time. The six top we got seemed to be at a major intersection of the dining room and people, customers and service staff, were coming and going all around us. The noise level also seemed a little high for much table conversation. The design of the interior makes it noisy. For appetizers we ordered Layered Chunky Queso and the Blue Crab Gratin. Both were good, but the queso is kind of a rip-off of the Bob Armstrong. The sample House made Pimiento Cheese was excellent and I kind of wish we had ordered it instead of the queso. My son and I both ordered the Chicken Fried Beef Ribs which were excellent. The meat was so tender, just like a nicely done Sunday pot roast. DIL had the Chicken Fried Steak; no complaints. There were two Salmon entrees which were pronounced excellent. One stuffed chicken breast rounded out the entrees. The dessert specials we had were a decadent Blondie Pie and an over the top apple cobbler. The only dark mark was our server. It was hard to put a finger on it, but he didn’t seem particularly friendly, and only came by once after the food was served to check on us. Maybe he had too many tables to care for. I dunno. I would consider going back; but there’s just so many other places to try in the Austin area.

The service is always good. The food is fantastic. The ambiance is warm and friendly. Always a good rome here. One of my personal favorites.

Best brunch around. We drive from Killeen always good always yummy choices and my gluten free friends get a flourless tort to go... raspberry butter oh my

A pretty nice place to grab a quick bite to eat. Nothing really outstanding but it can fill you up with the Veggie Burger or the Turkey Burger. We came a bit later in the evening not knowing that it would be almost closing time. Kind of early for a bar and restaurant to be closing, but I guess it is what it is. Had three different servers so I guess we were passed from one to another because of our late seating. By the time we left the parking lot was almost empty. How were we to know of there business hours?

Service was great during lunch! I had the meatloaf, and it was amazing! Fresh, local food, and not your ordinary menu. Highly recommend!

The house made pimiento cheese and flatbread was a big hit with everyone (even someone who doesn't like pimiento cheese). Our entrees were: Crispy Salmon, Sloppy Jack (short rib sandwich) with sweet potato fries, and the pasta special (macaroni, pork and cheese casserole). All were very tasty. Reservations are recommended, even during the week.

Went there before 8-9 years ago and the ambiance has gotten much better. Had great food and great service with a willingness to make substitutes on the menu sides. Good wine selection as well. Enjoyable.

The restaurant is too much crowded and need reservation for big groups. The food is very tasty. But the serving size is very small considering the high cost.

Brunch was amazing. Delicious choices of all kinds of fresh food. Spicy Bloody Mary was perfect. Highly recommend!

There is so much of a selection for brunch! The offerings are replenished often and there are choices of both hot and cold items, sweet and savory. There is something there for everyone! The servers are all so attentive! Don't be in a hurry. Enjoy!

Probably our favorite restaurant in Austin. Guacamole is always great with the salsa. Margaritas are among the best anywhere and cheap. Had red snapper special which is great when on the menu. Crispy salmon is always available and fantastic - perfectly cooked. Prices are very reasonable?

Staff was very accommodating and we really enjoyed our appetizers, drinks and meal. Not far from downtown Austin unless it is a main traffic time. Well worth a little drive. Lovely restaurant too.

Had dinner here on our only night in Austin and it was fabulous. Sat "outside" under the covered dining area. Service was fantastic, prompt, attentive. Food was so delicious. Appreciated the waiter's recommendation of the trout, it was fantastic and a good choice for a fish lover. Unique, well prepared. My honey had an outstanding burger that was cooked to perfection and tasted fantastic. A wonderful experience, would return again and can highly recommend to others!

Jack Allen’s defiantly exceeded my expectations. My first impression, very nice interior, intimate, classy. A great place for first dates or dinner with family & friends. Besides the environment being very inviting, the food was AMAZING. Jack Allen’s gets all their produce from local small & larger farms. Great way of supporting our locals ❤️ The food taste fresh & full of flavor.

We are dinner at this location on a Wednesday evening in early March. Even though the parking lot was pretty crowded, we were able to find a spot and we did not have to wait for a table - even though it looked like every table had diners. The interior is very large - wide open - high ceilings. Gives a very spacious - modern - clean feel. Our table was a little unique as we asked for a booth, and most of them would seat 4, but ours had a large round support column in it - which made it smaller than the other booths - but plenty large enough for the two of us. We had a great server - very friendly - knowledgeable - great in checking back with us, etc. We had some chips and queso for an appetizer. The serving size was large, and in fact I asked our server to cancel the salad I had previously ordered to make sure I had room for my dinner. Our entrees with Chicken Breast, and 13 spiced chicken pasta - both very good. I did bite into a hot pepper early on with the pasta which was very hot, but the rest of the dish was spicy without being burning hot - excellent. We got a slice of cheesecake "to go" so we could relax and have dessert back in our hotel room. Overall - great place - highly recommended.

This is one of our favorite restaurants, and by the size of the crowds, that sentiment is shared by a lot of people. Enjoy your favorite cocktail/drink/beer while waiting for a table or simply with your dinner. A favorite entree is the Chicken Fried Beef Rib! Reservations are highly recommended!

Lonnie review. Went there today for lunch. I had the king cheeseburger. My wife had the chicken sandwich. She said the chicken sandwich was the best she's ever eaten and the cheeseburger was great. Also, would recommend will return just saying.

I was in Austin on business and was brought to Jack Allen's for what was told to be a great meal. I was very disappointed. The restaurant was huge and there was a large line of people waiting. We fortunately had a reservation so we were quickly seated but were so crushed together that we had to ask for another table to be added. The ordering took a large amount of time as the place was packed and not enough staff to cover the people. I ordered the chicken fried ribs as I heard they were a specialty. After a long wait our food arrived and it was cold, bland, and nothing special. The ribs were mostly fat and I only had a few bites of them. I thought it was just me but others at the meal though the same thing about their dishes. Not sure if it was a bad night but the food was bad and the service very slow.

I really enjoyed the fresh delicious food, great and inspiring conversations and excellent service by Thai during lunch! I met Chitra and her husband at a Yogassana class from Sadhguru group in Austin and have met them several times since then during my visit! A very lovely and inspiring couple! All of our dishes were great! The scenery of nature everywhere is just also so relaxing! They had art from an artist showing and selling it! Check out the picture area for more pictures from my visit!!

This location was top notch. the food was excellent, drinks were outstanding and the service was spot on. Not a lot to choose from on the menu compared to some location, but what is there is worth it. Very good value for the money.

We ate at Jack Allen's for the first time on a visit to Austin to see our UT student. WOW! The food was so good! Service was also good and you didn't have to ask for everything like refills. They have multiple locations in the Austin area.

Arranged a business dinner here & the staff took great care of us. I think it was Brittany that helped me secure a private room & pre fixe menu which is so helpful when you have a budget! The queso was so good! Most of us had the chicken fried strip which was also very good. Great food, service was top notch, & ease for our large group. Thanks! Highly recommended!

We always try a couple of the appetizers, we love the guacamole, quesadillas, and catfish. The quail was small yet that is all you need to remember to order it again next time. The catfish was supreme, as it is hot to the last bite. It is cooked to perfection remaining moist and tender. Service is always spot on!

Had the Sunday Brunch, and it was excellent. Lots of regional dishes, fried chicken, fried pork tenderloins, with a green chile cream gravy. Lots of breakfast items : eggs, ham, sausage patties, jalapeno sausage, grits, and more. You can get eggs any style (no omelets), fresh biscuits, and pancakes made to order. Mimosa's are available as well. Served from 10 AM til 2 PM. My kind of place.

Very casual atmosphere but the food is comfortable and consistently good. An easy "go to" for lunch or dinner.

We came here and ordered all the specials. The food was incredible. What really made the experience was our server Mark. Best service I’ve ever had. Go in and ask for mark you won’t be disappointed

Reputed to have one of the best chicken fried steaks around we went to Jack Allen's Kitchen. It should be noted that their menu has many enticing offerings but I had to follow my quest. I started with a pomegranate margarita. Very good and refreshing. I had the chicken fried New York Strip for my entre. I suspected it had been first tenderized as it was easy to eat. Battered and fried it was light and very good. It came with mashed potatoes which were just ok and a few steamed vegies which were, to be candid, unremarkable, sadly. Service was outstanding and the evening was very pleasant. As far as one of the best chicken fried steaks, while it was certainly the definition of the offering, I am still on the hunt.

They forgot our order. After an inquiry, food came out quickly but cold. No apologies offered. The fish was barely heated and tasted reheated and the sautéed Spinach was 4 uncooked leaves. Sauce on top was cold.

If you were looking for a really nice meal, there are limited options on the menu. There were a few, a salmon, a steak, etc. but most of the items were moderately priced. Lots of chicken fried options, and some burgers. We went with a vegetarian who eats fish but not fried fish, and there weren’t many options. There were various taco and pasta entrees. The fish tacos portion was kind of small and If you are a moderate to big eater it would have been too small, but the chicken fried pork chop was good sized and very yummy. The service was friendly and fast. We got in right away on a Saturday night with no reservation.

I love this place and I love their cookbook too!!! Service is excellent and its always on my list to take friends there.

I just ate the best burger I have ever had!! Friendly staff and good atmosphere. We love eating on the patio. I can’t believe I forgot to take a picture of it!!!

The Round Rock location seems to stay pretty packed. I use the Kitchen as my go to for casual business lunches and have learned to arrive early (well before noon). Food is always good. Not cheap but reasonable considering quality. Service has always been friendly.

Ordered the crispy salmon with crab and tomato salad, and the ruby red trout with apple pecan slaw, wilted spinach, and rice. Phenom!

Really, really love the guacamole with pumpkin seeds and Cotija cheese!! My friend loved her Spinach Gorgonzola Ravioli that had a walnut pesto cream sauce & grated Parmesan chipotle puree. It came with grilled ciabatta. I wasn’t thrilled with the Pumpkin Seed Pesto Marinated Chicken Breast portobella mushroom and artichoke gratin with a goat cheese drizzle. The mushroom was buried under the gratin that I didn’t really like and the mushroom wasn’t very good. The signature pimento cheese bite you get while waiting was delicious, though. AND the valet service was great! Good atmosphere.

This is the wonderchild of Sunday breakfast buffets. The place must seat 250 people. It opens at 10am to a thunderous crowd and it rocks until the last chicken 'n biscuit has been downed. You can go there and eat so much you roll out or just sample the amazing selection of fabulous food, or order what you want cooked to order, all for the same price per person. Amazing value for what you get, superb quality, fabulous service. We've never been here for dinner because our kids want to go here every time we go to town.

We went to dinner to celebrate my friends birthday. It was a Saturday night and we are from out of town so we were told might be best to make a reservation. We were seated right away and they were REALLY busy as well as I am sure short staffed as most places at the moment so it took us a bit to be greeted by our server but that gave us plenty of time to look so we ordered our drinks and our food at the same time. I had the Chorizo-Stuffed Pork Tenderloin Medallions roasted garlic cream sauce, chunky smashers, Chef 's veggies. Overall it was okay. Perhaps I'm not too familiar with the medallions taste it's supposed to have but I was expecting more flavor. You could taste the chorizo, the vegetables and mashed potatoes were great! The presentation was beautiful but just overall was hoping for a bit more. 6/10. My friend ordered the 13 Spiced Chicken Pasta red pepper linguine, spinach linguine, fresh jalapeño, chipotle cream sauce, Cotija cheese. She was satisfied with hers and was weary of the seeds in the pasta for the spice level but it really was not spicy at all! I have a sensitive pallet for spice and I actually thought the same thing. She also gave it a 6/10. We did receive complimentary dessert for her birthday and that was a blondie dessert with nuts and she gave that a 10/10! We would like to come back for brunch to give our overall final view. But our server Matt was great! He was attentive and we had a quick turn around on our food and dessert!

After traveling from Tulsa to Austin for soccer, our group was hungry and looking for a great place for supper. We read the reviews for Jack Allen's and decided this was a great place to stop. Everything was great. The food and service were excellent. Great drink selection. Everyone in our group really liked what they ordered. We tried the wedge salad, chips, queso and salsa, and the pimento cheese while waiting for our food. They were all yummy. I would visit here again.

One of the best patios in Austin. Good wine, good food, good atmosphere. It's a go-to restaurant for me.

1st of all we didn't know it was a buffet we are not fans of buffets. The reviews were great. 1st. Long wait. 2nd Buffet food was cold. 3. Our eggs were served to the wrong table. Silver dollar pancakes and biscuits and gravy were cold. Fresh fruit was tasty. Bloody Mary were very good. $40.00 plus over priced. Maybe lunch or dinner would be better. We did see this lil guy from our table. Our view was nice. Our server Brittney was good.

Very pleasant meal - clean and tidy interior, friendly staff and a huge menu which was good quality and a decent portion size. Would definitely go back.

This was my first visit to this location in a shopping plaza. The decor interior was smart, contemporary, and comfortable. We were seated immediately with our choice of an indoor booth accommodated. The waitress was fast, efficient, and polite without seeming to rush us as we wanted to relax. We ordered a vegetarian taco split to start with a side of guac, salsa, and chips. The order also included guacamole. The sauted vegetables, including squash and red peppers, were tasty, if a bit oily. The only problem was the guac in both servings was intensely SALTED. I found it inedible and made a mental note to request it completely unsalted on my next visit. The waitress confirmed that other customers had complained about the excessive salt content. Hopefully, the Chef will attend to this one and only issue I've had at Jack Allen's. The margueritas are the best around and not to be missed if you like the drink. The salt may be an incentive to imbibe even more but it's not necessary for those who love their Margueritas!

Went here with a large group with a variety of different needs (one soy free, one gluten free, and a few picky eaters). They took care of all of us and everyone left full and happy. The server did a great job of guiding us through the menu (there are some unusual offerings so that was appreciated). All of her recommendations were great and we all had an amazing experience. Will be back ASAP.

This is my go to spot to meet friends after work. Their appetizer selection is fabulous and always have a hard time choosing. My favs are the spinach Gorgonzola ravioli, blue crab gratin and the catfish and slaw. I usually just have to get them all! Their menu is so varied and I’ve never had a bad meal whether it’s a juicy burger or a tender New York strip. And don’t forget brunch, whether it’s the buffet or order off the menu, you can’t go wrong. Love their biscuits and gravy!

We met some friends there who live in Austin. It was our first time and we really enjoyed it. Liked the ambience, it was very crowded so gathered it’s a popular place, and the food was yummy. I had shrimp tacos but felt the Mango sauce was a little too overpowering. The fish tacos and pimento cheese shrimp and grits were excellent. Service was excellent too and it turned out to be a lovely afternoon lunch. Can’t wait to go back.

They have a little of everything YUMMY! The Mimosas are the best as is all the food!!! Service is quick and the selection is quite honestly the best I've seen in a long time!

We had tacos with a beer. Great food in a nice place on Anderson Lane. The service is very good and the prices are fair.

Suggested by a local merchant for a quick lunch. It was busy so elected to sit at a high table. The service was excellent, the food was outstanding. Only downside to the visit was a very self absorbed and loud person sitting at the end of the long table. Very distracting but the food helped overcome that issue.

Took the family here for a college graduation lunch. Food was a bit pricey but different items on the menu and great food and service. Had a coupon which I forgot to give them but I would recommend and would go back if we go that way again.

All of the dishes here have a bit of Texan in them. My wife had the steak and I had chicken, both were well prepared and tasted great. Good choice if you like a bit of Texas in your food

Love this farm to table brunch on Sundays. The food is a nice variety of fried pork loin to beef enchiladas to chicken with all the fixings. I love the baked Mac n Cheese and was amazed how awesome the deviled eggs were. They tasted just like my mother in laws potato salad. I know that sounds strange but they were soooo good. We will definitely be back!

very good food, good service, price was good for what we ate, was seated fairly quickly on a busy afternoon

Visited Austin in April, 2019. Ten members of our family were graciously accommodated. We had an alcove off the main room. Our server was pleasant and efficient. The food was outstanding. The restaurant had been recommended to us by friends, and they did not steer us wrong.

I recently visited family in Dallas and ate at Jack Allen's Kitchen 360. I have heavy eating restrictions because of my health, and they made everything possible (okay, they didn't have Blue Cheese dressing (?), so I ordered oil & vinegar on the side which was perfect). While Blue Cheese dressing may seem weird for a restricted eater, it's one of the few dressings besides oil & vinegar that works. Anyway, I chowed down on a lovely salad that my daughter-in-law suggested, and they had some fancy macaroni & cheese. Yummy! We sat for a while and chatted with our waters and diet whatever, and nobody paid any mind. Thank you Jack Allen's Kitchen 360 for an outstanding experience.

Best food around. Always fantastic every visit. The Catfish Bites are our favorites. All of Jack Gilmore’s restaurants are 5 Star.

Went for the first time ever, Sunday for brunch. All you can eat for $17.99 and worth every cent. Ate for two hours and of course their wonderful Mimosas. We drove from Schertz just for breakfast. Will do it again. The server we had was great and wish I had her name! She was training someone but we loved both of them.

We sat at the bar for happy hour. The food was delicious & really good prices...for happy hour. Drinks were still a little expensive, even for happy hour.

We went there to watch Saints game. Had great time there. Ate appetizers and had martinis. The food is very good as well as the service. However, I can't recommend the strawberry cobbler dessert. It was bland. I do recommend this restaurant for lunch, dinner, and cocktails. I do plan on returning.

Jack’s is a local Austin Treasure. The staff including the hostess, bartenders and waitresses are all friendly, helpful and efficient. I recommend you arrive a touch early as there is normally a wait however, with $5 well drinks at the bar, the time passes quickly. Once you are seated you will be provided a wonderful sample of their homemade pimento cheese and chips and which is heavenly. I had the chicken fried pork chop and it was honestly cooked to perfection. It comes with a chili gravy that is just right on the hot/spicy meter. The sides were mixed vegetables and red mashed potatoes. Overall, I highly recommend this location for all groups.

I’ve never had a bad meal at Jack Allen’s. Still haven’t, but after the trying the new item, I’d recommend Jack remove it from the menu. I’m a fan of really good Po’Boys and Lobster Rolls. Jack now serves a Lobster Roll that needs to go. The ratio of ingredients is off. Stuff it with Lobster and charge me more. The most important piece to any sandwich or roll is the bread. I couldn’t taste the lobster because I was too busy chewing bread. It was more like a hogie bagel. I could hardly make out the lobster. It was hidden by the mound of vinegar infused veggies and peppers. Vinegar? Really? Where’s the mayo? Come on. I was hoping, finally, a restaurant that knows how to make a lobster roll. Nope. Still looking.

They have great specials and an awesome brunch on Sundays. Service is always great. Deserts are on point.

Hosted a double Birthday party. Overall food and service was good. was not able to book a table online, and had to call restaurant directly to book a table. Ordered three appetizers and drinks, all was good. Ordered entrees , still no problems. one appetizer came out and there was a lag in time before 2nd and third appetizer came out; everything was still good. Four of five entrees came out, and we were left waiting for 5th entrée to come out. This was ironic as it was a duplicate order of fish and chips. Fish was coated with a heavy cornmeal coating, which is not the coating for fish and chips.. The chef needs to head down to Woody's in Bee Caves, which serves an excellent Fish and chips.

Jack Allen's is always good, dependable, and reasonably priced. It is one of the places we enjoy going to whether it is a business meeting or a social occasion. I recommend you make reservations to make sure you don't have to wait, but I've never had a problem getting a table.

We had a group of 24 as part of a business trip. It was 20-25 minutes from when we were seated until we were able to place our orders. Even with two servers, this task was too big for the wait staff. I was disappointed the menu didn’t include steaks, but the burger was very good.

The food and service are supreme everytime I have been there. Their salads, chicken, veggies, and flourless cake...my oh my! And did I mention the service? I truly appreciate great service. I will be back next time I am in Austin.

Popped in here for a late lunch after arriving at Austin airport (before heading to the Hill Country). Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. The pimento cheese is an absolute Must Try. Great food.

I've done Brunch here a few times with the girls, so it's usually appetizers and drinks so I can't speak much on the dinner menu, but brunch is always amazing! Best Bloody Marys I've had! it's a nice place without being pretentious, Always excellent service!

When dining on my own I always consider in my reviews how I am treated as a single Diner. I arrived a little after 7 and the place was packed but I only had a short wait before I was seated in a nice booth and waited on almost immediately. After a few questions, I placed my order and then my waitress, Kayla, brought out a small sample of their pimento cheese. It was no doubt some of the best pimento cheese I've ever had and I consider myself a snob when it comes to pimento cheese. I followed with the wedge salad which was quite good but I didn't eat all of it because I I was saving room for the star of the evening which was the bacon wrapped Texas quail legs. They were served on a bed of jalapeno and Peach jam that was beyond description. It was so good and complimented the quail perfectly. The microgreens and figs served with it were a perfect bite. The service was excellent. Apparently the servers share their duties and no one seemed upset about it. If I lived in Austin I would be in trouble because this would be a weekly visit. Very nice meal, excellent service and I felt a very good price for everything that I had. If ever in Austin again I will head straight here.

After reading reviews on TripAdvisor, a group of 6 real estate agents at a local conference decided we needed something other than “hotel” food. We ordered everything from chips/salsa, salmon, chicken fried steak, hamburger and pasta and EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS!! Definitely recommend

We stopped by for lunch while we were in Austin. The crispy catfish was very good but the star was the chicken fried NY strip steak. Excellent with the pepper gravy. Service was very good. Highly recommend.
Must go for BRUNCH
My 40th bday weekend...8 friends and I came here for brunch and were NOT disappointed! I even bought the cookbook that Jack signed himself!! LOVE!! Brunch is amazing...all fresh food with a lot of choices....options changed often on the buffet even in the hour we were there. Pancakes and eggs are brought out as often as requested to your table by your server. Our server was the lead server at the Oak Hill location and she was AWESOME!!! The Tomato Basil pie was voted best dish by our table. We all enjoyed the fried chicken as well. There were lots of favorites by each of us and we left very full! Highly recommend Brunch here. Although, my good friend had her mom's birthday dinner here and she spoke highly of dinner as well. I have made a few things already out of my cookbook and they did not disappoint either! Yummy food!!
