Disappointed

By Linkenbach |

First of all, no one there speaks English to explain the meals to you. The drinks were $18 and not very good at all. The food was ok at best. We spent $150 for two of us and we stopped at a pizzeria on the way back to our hotel to eat some good food.

Nice restaurant but not a big fun of peruvian food!

By marytheglobetrotter |

This is a nice restaurant with excellent dishes but I discovered not to be a big fun of peruvian food! I like simple dishes and these are quite elaborated for my tastes.

Nice vibe

Great choice for a great meal. In the heart of Coconut Grove....lunch, dinner and happy hour, too! Good food, good service.

All good wine list to improve but much

By fabio f |

You eat really well. Ceviche super / good service nice location. Unfortunatamwnte wine list and wine not up to the food. It absolutely needs to be fleshed out and updated. Poinda 5 stars

Ceviche doesn’t get any better!

By @retiredwherenext |

Food, service and ambiance were excellent. We tried the Ceviche Spoon Sampler to start, then ordered our favs as entrees. If you like spicy, try the Ceviche Levanta Muertos. Drinks half off for happy hour!

Winding down from my Ohio trip

The churrasco and shrimp, the grilled veggies and the wine were DELICIOUS! A very careful chef with “the touch”. Cute Valerie was an outstanding host, and in general, a great dining experience

Outstanding ceviche

By RiceWP |

My wife and I came here for dinner and really enjoyed ourselves. It was a quiet night so we were able to get a table right away. We started with classic Caipirinhas followed by two different types of ceviche. For maincourse we had Argentinian skirt steak with a Caesar salad. All of the food, particularly the ceviche, was tasteful and enjoyable.

Excellent Peruvian and other Latin cuisine

By John M |

My wife, I and a friend recently dined at Jaguar (also brunch a few months ago) and found a good selection of ceviches, including Peruvian style. I had the "Ceviche Levanta Muertos", a combo with various shell fish and fish and as main course, "Arroz con Mariscos" (shell fish rice). Both were excellent as was the service.

Amazing Ceviche

By stevec321 |

Great bar inside and nice decor plus outside seating in trendy Coconut Grove. The ceviche is absolutely fabulous as is the service we received.

Nice Atmosphere & Food Choices

By liztinabeth |

Had a delicious meal here with my husband for lunch. There were plenty of options. The ceviche was very good, as were the fish tacos. Even the waffles on the brunch menu were good! Prices are a little bit steep, but the ambiance of the restaurant and food quality makes it worth it overall. Service was very good.

Horrible!

By LegalFran |

I ordered the Churrasco. The meat was so tough it was absolutely impossible to chew. I left the dinner and told the waiter to dare the Chef to try to eat it! I will NOT be back.

Eat Here

If you have one meal in Miami, make it Jaguar. Everything about it was excellent. They were able to accommodate a table of 7 of us and all of the staff were well trained and friendly. The Arroz de Mariscos was hands down one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. My father had the octopus and commented that it was the best he’s had anywhere. Everyone else enjoyed their meals, and particularly the ceviche. I can’t say enough good things.

Worst service I've ever received

By Allison Louise |

We were really excited to try this place out. I am a server/bartender of almost a decade, and I never complain about food or service unless it's truly horrible, and I have never asked to talk with a manager... Until now. My husband, daughter and I went for lunch 2 days ago, and first of all it took 30 min just to get our water, then over an hour and a half to get our food. When the server brought our water glasses we had to send them back two times because they were covered in food. Again, I am not picky, germaphobic or a difficult patron, I never send food back. My first water glass still had at least a half ounce of what looked like bloody Mary smeared all over the sides and collected in the bottom. Our server was so frazzled I thought he might break out in tears, and I felt bad for him- i've been there, so we were very patient. He said he was the only server working the entire restaurant. The busser was having to serve tables, as well as the manager. When our food finally came, we never got the fruit water we were supposed to get with our meals, and when we told our server we would like it he said "oh you have to ask for it" even though on the menu it says it comes with the meal, and on top of it he forgot to even take a drink order so we just decided to stick with water. By the time the food came it was cold, obviously left out. The scallops we're not rinsed, I got a mouthful of sand, the cilantro soup tasted like it was made with cilantro that had turned- it seriously tasted like rotten grass soup. The burger my husband got was flavorless, cold, overcooked, and the chorizo was tasteless. We were completely ignored by servers, no one checked back on us. My meal had the potential to be good, the flavors and ingredients were there but it was cold and sandy. We waited for our bill for another 30 min and I finally went in to find the manager. I told him about our experience and he kept interrupting me, made excuses about how they were understaffed. He said he was working with one server, one busser and one bartender. Note to any restaurant owner- if you're that understaffed, DONT OPEN. Or take less tables and close off the rest. It's not fair to your customers or staff, and if you continue to treat staff and customers poorly your restaurant will close for good. I can only imagine how many meals they had to comp that day- all of the tables around us were just as horribly served. Steer clear from this place.

So good!!

By EmilyMSellsMiami |

Low key my brother loves this place! I always chose a different place in the grove but the other night he insisted he wanted jaguar so I figured I would give it a second try! Wow was the crab cake amazing!!! The sauce the texture and so fresh!! I got the Mahi fish tacos for the price and portion you can’t go wrong and it was covered in yummy toppings! Thank you jaguar and I will be back soon!!

Great service, AMAZING food - highly recommend

By kitty_kattp |

This place is a little gem! We came here for dinner, rather late, and were greeted very welcomingly by the wait staff. Girl on reception was not very polite to welcoming, but we over looked that. They had a great menu and gave us some suggestions for food. This was a nice touch for me as I am a coeliac and they cater for that well. The food was excellent, absolutely EXCELLENT. One of the best meals we have had in the US to date. The starter blue chips were AMAZING! I had the Grilled shrimp which was cooked perfectly and totally fabulous (still want to knw the recipe for that sauce!) and the burger was (huge!) super tasty (so said my other half). We would go back here time and time again in a heartbeat; yum yum yum, and 5* all the way. Definitely recommend anyone to visit here, especially on a warm night to sit outside and while away the hours with a drink or two.

Just Drink the Wine, Everything Else is Terrible

By arcadence |

What a disaster. I came to this venue with a group of around 25 people. We were seated around 830PM, and our menu was fixed, with appetizers and choice of entree. Appetizers consisted of chips with salsa, chips/bread with guacamole, and ceviche. The chips came out first with the salsa. The chips came in small sized cups, and was to be shared with 4-5 people, it appeared as they only brought out 5 cups. The chips and guacamole came out about 20 minutes later. This plate also had to be shared with 4-5 people, and there weren't enough chips as well. The ceviche came out last, about 90 minutes after we had seated. The ceviche was also a joke, and it came out with ceviche on 6 spoons. Literally 6 spoonfuls of ceviche, and various types of ceviche, but no clue as to what was what. Needless to say, not much of an appetizer. Around 1020-1030 (restaurant closes at 11), dinner was served, however, several plates, including mine and the host's was served much later than everyone else. People were done eating by the time we got our plates. And because it was a fixed menu, it wasn't like we ordered something different and complex. All the entrees were a disaster. The Lomo was served without rice, since they seemed to have run out of rice (like wtf? and it wasn't even busy on the Thursday night we went). The mahi-mahi was served without rice for the same reason. We were given salads as a substitute. The seafood was severely overcooked. The shrimp was chewy and the fish needed a knife to cut through. The only saving grace for the entire evening was that the wine actually tasted good. There are some good Peruvian places in Miami to eat. This is not one of them.

Delicious!

By Anna S |

The food was absolutely delicious! Highly recommend the ceviche spoon sampler and the vaca frita. Both were incredible and I would go back in a heartbeat. Although the restaurant is very nice, no need to worry about a dress code (although as their sign indicates, clothes are required).

Trendy Restaurant in the Grove

By spvincent033 |

My wife and I stumbled upon the Jaguar after shopping in Coconut Grove. The staff was friendly and the service was excellent. Great Latin food with and American twist. Large drink selection, with a few house favorites.

Drinks and appetizers with friends

By Judy |

Sangria was yummy. They served plantain chips with an orange sauce that was a big hit with everyone at our table. I heard the guacamole was excellent… and it was! I love the crabs/corn cakes!!

One of the best meals we enjoyed during our Florida Vacation

By Eileen K |

Our timing was perfect for dinner—during happy hour! The pisco sours were great, and we were delighted that ceviche was on the happy hour menu. By far the ceviche was the best we’ve ever eaten! The fish entrees with delicious sides were exceptional. This restaurant deserves its popularity. It is exceptional.

Walking by, stopped in

By Julie S |

Walking by, stopped in for lunch. Split the lunch special. 3 tacos, salad, soup, cilantro lemonade and a taste of dessert. It was wonderful!! Everything tasted so good. Would definitely come back here if I come back to Miami!!

Loved It!

By Jane I |

We just wandered in to Coconut Grove at dinner time. Lucky we found this place. I wasn't sure what cuisine it was. No need to worry. One of the best meals I have ever had. I started with a small Celia salad. It was one of the best salads I have ever had. I also ordered the salmon with the corn/sweet potato mix. It's the one in the photo. The salmon was done to perfection. I cannot describe to you have delicious this was. To me this is the difference between a cook and a chef. The taste of everything was amazing. The wait staff was so warm and helpful. Even the music was so perfect for the evening. One of the waiters suggested the flan for dessert. I don't like flan but he said this was the best. It was yummy! My husband had a chicken sandwich and it was large but he eat the entire thing. He said it was excellent. This is definitely a primo choice in Coconut Grove - if you are visiting the Fairchild Gardens, stop by!

Excellent Service and Food

By bruce s |

Besides a great location, this upscale restaurant provided excellent service and food. The menu was rather extensive and the drink menu adequate. We dined on two different ceviche dishes (Vuelve A La Vida & Nuevo Shrimp), Fried Calamari & Bife De Lomo. All very tasty. The Bife could have been a bit more tender, but was quite good after mixed with the delicious sauce. I do not live near here and might not return, but would highly recommend this restaurant to all others. Our family of 4 ate here for lunch; not a romantic meal. However, I would imagine, given its location and ambience, this place would provide a romantic dinner locale.

Good ceviche, nice Coconut Grove location, interesting drinks, disappointing lomo

By s00h0 |

The ceviche spoons aren't cheap but definitely worth a try. The location is in the heart of Coconut grove. The service was decent though not over the top. The drinks were of reasonable strength and tasty. Price was fair overall though. The main reason I dropped a star is because of the beef. A Peruvian influenced Latin place really needs to have a good lomo. In this case not that flavorful, beef a bit overcooked, and not a lot of beef so the poorest value in the meal.

Ceviche-Wow!

By OlderFellow |

My wife and I have visited the Grove many times and have avoided this place because of its location next to the touristy Coco Walk (which is now closed) and there are so many other great restaurants to choose from. Maybe we should have given it a chance before as it was delicious! The ceviche sampler was especially good and the rest of the meal was also excellent. We will go back!

Excellent Ceviche

By Lynda B |

The ceviches were amazing! We had the Nuevo Shrimp and the TUNA NIKKEI. Both were fantastic, but the tuna was OUTSTANDING ! Definitely will go back again.

Great patio!

By Michael O |

Bianca did a great job. Be sure to sample the ceviche. Six spoons. Wow. I’d do that again. Had a quinoa salad with shrimp. Very good fresh shrimp. Crepe dessert was excellent. Busy place with nice patio on sidewalk. Guy who seems like an owner or manager was very nice as well. Sadly they sold out of crab cakes. Next time. I’d recommend it!

AMAZING AMBIANCE ... GOOD FOOD

By Elvis M |

Is just like that... an ambiance and atmosphere to remember... the food... good, but not memorable. The service is top notch!... Will give a second try to the food. Elvis.

Nice place and good value for money

By Stéphane G |

Nice place. Nice team. Very good food. Good value for money. Only flat as in many public places in the USA: the air conditioning to the full! Take a sweater...

Best ceviche in Town !

By Andreia De Lara |

Amazing place the best ceviche we ever had, i tried the black market one is a must to have. French fries believe me is unreal, talking about the cockatiel the house ones are unreal. Unique atmosphere many kinds of plants everywhere i loved it. My husband favorite was the fish tacos....everything was very delightful we are definitely going back.

Fresh and Delicious

By Phil M |

Very fresh and delicious food. Great atmosphere and very friendly service. I would highly recommend the guacamole and mahi-mahi.

best ceviche ever

By allthewanderlust |

This is one of my fave spots for outdoor dining. Even in the summer, shade and fans keep it comfortable, with a nice atmosphere of latin music and people watching. Margaritas, yum. But the real gem at Jaguar is the ceviche. I love it and if I were local I'd be there all the time. The sauces and combinations are unique, making each ceviche dsitinctive, and the aji pepper adds a nice heat. We got three large ceviches for the table to share and could not finish. The Nuevo shrimp, Mexicano corvina, and Tiradito Oriental tuna ceviches are delish and they do not skimp on the seafood. A must-try when in the grove.

Great outdoor experience

By Jame C |

We dined outdoors here on a balmy February evening just as the sun set. Our waiter gave us a complete tour and explanation of the menu and then served a Chilean chardonnay and a Negroni that were very good, especially the Negroni (see picture). After devouring the plantains and blue corn chips with spicy sauce it was on to main courses. We dined on grilled Mahi Mahi with beans and rice and the Salmon Normandy with a nice butter sauce. The meal ended with the cheesecake in a bowl and that is "some serious desert". Service was good throughout the meal and the price reasonable.

Amazing food and service!

By Alain C |

I took my wife for her birthday and we loved it! Our server was great and the food was amazing! My wife had the lomo sartaiado and i had grouper with shrimp and white rice. (Amazing) Our appetizers, drinks and desert were also amazing!! Great ambiance and beautiful place.Definitely recommend this amazing restaurant.

Second Visit in two years, and even better

By JDM8090 |

We found Jaguar two years ago on our yearly visit to the Miami area for vacation. We decided to return on July 24 this year. We were greeted quickly and professionally when we entered. We were seated right away for our reservation, which on this particular evening we likely hadn't needed. But it is still the safest way to go. Our waiter made the experience for us. He was very helpful, very professional and very friendly. His name was Gilberto and we believe along with this excellent food, he was the reason for such a great experience. I believe the drink choices, especially beer were even better than before. Entrees were very good and the desserts were just as excellent. We will return on our next trip to the Miami area for sure.

Excellent

By ANA LIDIA A |

Well located restaurant, tasty and varied food. It features an executive menu with different dishes for each day of the week, the delicious ceviche tava and the picanha as well. Very attentive waiters and very good Mood

Flavor, flavor, flavor! Every bite did not disappoint.

By Bacidisole |

We dined here for a Sunday brunch and as part of the Miami Spice. Everything we ordered and sampled delighted our tastebuds. I loved the decor inside and the plantain chips & blue corn chips and sauce you get while you wait for your order. I highly recommend the ceviche Peruano , the arroz con mariscos and the Pisco Sour. For the Miami Spice, the empandas de verdes, the lomo saltado and the flan was so awesome and such an excellent price. I cannot recommend enough. Flavor everywhere! Service was superb (Thanks Ryan!) and on point.

Lunch with my daughter

Restaurant is nicely decorated. Staff was welcoming and service was good. We went for the lunch special and ordered fish tacos and chicken quesadillas. The food was good, but not outstanding.

Attentive staff, gluten-free options

By Louise B |

We had a splendid meal of super-fresh, perfectly prepared salads and small plates with an accent on seafood and totally gluten free. The staff bent over backwards to make our meal a success.

Lets go!

Good food, good drinks, nice atmosphere, nice staff, everything set for an great evening with friends or family. In the weekends it could be smart to reserve in advance

Definitely Worth A Stop

We really enjoyed the lunch here and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. The portions are large and super yummy.

Excellent!

Some of the best Latin food ever. Went there for dinner with the family - excellent choices from ceviche to flank steak. Drinks and dessert were great too! Will definitely go back next time I’m in the area.

Jaguar is king of the ceviche jungle!

By Charles F |

Hello friends I’ll keep this short and sweet… Jaguar’s cevicheOfferings are A+! Top of the list is the oriental tuna with the most delicious spicy green sauce that rivals only SushiSamba’s tiradito spicy sauce! Order the large it’s that good! Outdoor seating during the winter makes it even that much more enjoyable… Nice ambience… And very good service always! Enjoy!

Ceviche

By Chi-charter_cruiser |

Colleagues and I had dinner here last night. We were able to get an outside table, which was lovely and shared a number of items - all very tasty. The chips (corn and plantain) and salsa were quite good and several steps above the average. Monday and Tuesday nights have 50% off bottles of wine - so we had two. Definitely worth a return if we are in Coconut Grove.

Superb

By JuddyManchester |

A colleague and I ate here twice recently whilst in Miami on business and both times thought it was excellent.. great choice of food, varying cuisine (as in Latin American country), top staff and a nice seating area on the pavement.. Decent prices too and good portions..

Good food

By brendaY7915FU |

We are visiting the area on our boat and wanted “Mexican” food. This place came highly rated so we decided to give it a try. Be aware there are no enchiladas or burritos on the menu! It was very loud with Latin techno music being played. There is a vibrant bar. We had great service. One of us ordered a beef fajita sort of dish that was tasty-the meat was well cooked and chewy, though. The other had quesadilla-it wasn’t out of the ordinary. Chips and plantains were fresh and the salsa was delicious.

A welcome return after several years.

By keendevontraveller |

Margaritas paved the way to the sublime ceviches. So glad this place is still as good as ever. Heartily recommend people to give it a try. Charming staff and a great atmosphere. i wish I could bring it home with me.

The best Ceviche in Miami

By Xenos |

We have discovered “Jaguar” in the Miami Cartoville guide . We have been twice.. everything is excellent in particular Ceviche and people are really very nice..

Used to be better

By Jose KN |

Went lunch. Despite not being crowded, service was sloooow. The manager had to intervene. The ceviche (peruano) was average at best: not very flavorful. I got better ceviche much cheaper elsewhere. My wife's salad also did not look very appetizing. I recall having eaten better there. I know it's not a fancy place but there better alternatives in the Grove.

Great interesting food

By A C |

The food here is excellent. It had a lot of dishes we were unfamiliar with but the waitress gave good advice and we had a great meal. The ceviche spoons were delicious! Well worth a visit.

When we go to Miami, we always make a point to eat here! Haven't tried something we don't like. The food is always fresh which is great.

Amazing ceviche!!

We had lunch at this restaurant and all the food was very delicious. It was an awesome meal, very flavorful. The service was great too and it has a nice atmosphere. We wish we could go back there again soon.

The very best ceviche

By borisek2017 |

I've been visiting Jaguar for many years and make a point of dinning their while passing through Florida. The piano sours ore sublime. The gluten free chips and salsa are devine. However, the selection of ceviche is, by far, the best I've experienced, anywhere!!! This includes. Mexico, Chile, the Caribbean and Bahamas. The dinner menu also has delicious Latin delights. I prefer the grilled churrasco, always perfect. Great venue with both urn side and interior dinning with wonderful decor. Great food. Great drinks and, all around, great vibe

Very good

By ercc334 |

Very good and healthy food, helpful service, we were 5 adults and 2 children and everything went well

Amazing lunch and dinner

By Chris |

So good, we went twice in three days! First, a group dinner with the ceviche tasting option which was beautiful, amazing barbecoa and fish tacos. Back again for a top up before leaving Miami - had pretty much the same options as they were so good the first time. Around the corner from the Mayfair - highly recommend.

Great food in Coconut Grove

By TorontoTOtraveller |

I went to Jaguar with a colleague and would recommend it. We had a few cocktails which were all good and then had the calamari and chicken appetizers. Chicken was a bit dry but the calamari was great. We then both had steak (two different cuts) and both were prepared to our liking and were delicious. Service was also good.

Delicious!

By PR_Bride |

Managed to get a reservation for 4 on Friday night for dinner with colleagues. Started with plantain and blue corn chips with an amazing dipping sauce, followed by one of the tuna ceviches to share. I got the fresh fish entree - fish was done well and the side sauce was yummy. Veggies would have been nice, but I could have ordered a salad or asked to sub out the rice. Colleagues had the churrasco or octopus grilled dishes and seemed to enjoy. Staff was super friendly and attentive.

Great Place to Eat in the Grove!

By Mike T |

My wife and I have eaten at Jaguar several times. The food is excellent. It is Peruvian fusion at its finest. The ceviche and all the main courses are delicious. The ambiance is terrific and the service is top notch. I highly recommend Jaguar!

Great place for lunch - varied food

By anabellepaulino |

You can get very latin dishes. You can also get a good grilled fish, delicious tacos and excellent guacamole. They have local drinks and the wine menu is quite grand. It was the perfect hangover meal in my case and would def go back for the churrasco. Always ask for the chimichurri

Jaguar is the Perfect Group Event Space in Coconut Grove!

By Hanna a |

We hosted our rehearsal dinner and a cocktail hour for all our wedding guests the Friday night before our wedding at Jaguar, and could not have been happier with our experience! George, the general manager at the restaurant, was so helpful throughout the planning process and very gracious as a host. A month before the event, we were invited by George to share a drink at the restaurant while we talked through details, and beyond the delicious Sangria we had a blast getting to know George and seeing the gorgeous restaurant. They were very flexible during planning and were able to set up the space exactly how we wanted it. In addition, their event menu and bar packages are very reasonably priced, compared to other Coconut Grove restaurants we looked at. During the event itself, George and the whole staff were focused and attentive, taking drink orders and making sure everyone was having a good time. We absolutely recommend Jaguar for anyone planning a dinner or bar event in the grove, it was a wonderful experience!

Sat 50 minutes, no service

By Issac G |

We were sat, given water and forgotten about. Even after grabbing the manager. On our way out he came back over to say he would take care of the bill. What bill? Absolute s*it show. Went across the street. Got say immediately. Order taken within 2 minutes, with an apology for the wait. Skip this fiasco. Only got one star cause it wouldnt let me submit it with zero

Great menú, dinner an attention

By Diego P |

They have an excellent attention, the staff is very friendly and knows their offer well in the menu. They also have rich gluten-free dishes (my kids have celiac disease) and they enjoyed dinner. This is a place where i will definitly go back. Best

You have to eat here!

By John B |

The atmosphere and service were as great as the food! We ate outside and enjoyed the people watching.

Amazing Food and Service in Coconut Grove

By mjannunziata |

We were staying in Coconut Grove before boarding a cruise out of Miami. Checking the local restaurants, we saw Jaguar's, which looked interesting specializing in Latin American cuisine We were greeted by Valerie who took very good care of us. We started with cocktails which were well crafted along with chips and salsa. For dinner, we had Pork Pernil and Octopus which were prepared very well and delicious. We had such a good time we returned the following night and had steak tacos. Make Jaguar's your place for a great meal when in Coconut Grove!

Amazing Latin cuisine

By Sue V |

Experience starts with server bringing fried plantains and chips and salsa to your table; delicious! Menu is incredible and prices are reasonable for the fresh, mouthwatering entrees that you receive. It is a busy restaurant and outdoor seating is limited and taken up quickly in the early evening, but indoor seating is very comfortable.

Tasty ceviche

By Elana_K |

Great restaurant! We mainly came here for the ceviche (I highly recommend the Black Market), but we also ordered some happy hour calamari, as well as the churrasco to share. The food was really good. Sauce on the Black Market ceviche was especially a highlight. The churrasco was perhaps a touch more than medium-rare, but still good. Service throughout Miami was pretty awful, but it was excellent here (other than the fact they reported us as a no-show to OpenTable...). We sat outside, which was nice for enjoying the comfortable temps and people watching. The indoor decorating is very captivating as well. Prices were a little high, but not crazy for Miami (or Chicago).

A Favorite; Great Place

By jamesprich |

Went for dinner and sat at the bar. Service was great and learned a bit about the clientele and neighborhood. Chatty bartender always enhances the experience. Have been numerous times in the past.

Great experience, but the menu was outdated

By Bernardo P |

The restaurant and overall service was great, but the menu said no cilantro, but it came with cilantro. Before ordering, I even asked, "does this dish come with cilantro", and the waitress said no. They gave us a free ceviche to compensate. Overall, super polite service, great food, food didn't take too long. 4/5

Service Down and Pest 2-26-20

By Bruno A |

My wife and I chose this place to enjoy a nice dinner with friends that we were reconnecting with, and what it disappointment it was. We frequented the establishment and had experienced some great times at this location, I am not too sure what has change that has brought down the service. It started with us receiving appetizers that belonged to a few tables down, we were all a bit confused since we had not ordered anything just yet luckily we did not touch this and the server noticed after a few minutes of the mistake they had made. We ordered the ceviche sampler which was our favorite starter but this time around it was very mediocre also the guac and chips were bland and the chips stale. After placing our order we were approached by the MOD who delivered to our table once again an order that belonged to a few tables down this occurred a total of 3 times. Midway through our service, I noticed on the shared bench a massive roach crawling on the headrest, I waved down our server and discreetly shared this information with her by this point the roach was crawling towards my guest. Her response to this was "What do you want me to do about it"? I asked her to get her MOD who quickly rushed over and with a  cloth napkin grabbed the roach and walked away as if nothing happened. This was never addressed, in fact, the MOD completely ignored what had just occurred, after about 10 mins he approached our table and began to ramble on about his friend the "owner" who allowed him to become manager at "Jaguars" he went on for about 5 mins but again never addressed the incident. Both my wife and I with a combined total of 22 years of experience in hospitality and food and beverage, were in complete shock of how the opportunity was handled by a leader and this was expressed with him in private. He offered us a single dessert which he provided 4 spoons so that we could share with our guest, and our server made sure that we were very aware that they had comped us the dessert of $8 on a bill of almost $300. We were not looking for a comp nor a discount on our bill we were just hoping that the opportunity was handled a bit more professional, the incident should have been addressed and an apology should have been served but never was.

Abandon All Hope, Ye Who Enter Here

By pjmboston |

I have suffered through more than a few bad restaurant experiences in my life but nothing prepared me for Jaguar Latin-American Kitchen. On the plus side, Jaguar was open on Christmas night and two of the toilets in the men's room were functioning. On the minus side, everything else. We arrived at 7:10 p.m. and were seated at an outdoor table, and a bottle a water and a small basket of chips were placed before us. A mere 15 minutes later, a waitress appeared. Fearing that it might be our only opportunity, we decided to seize the moment and order drinks and food and request napkins and utensils that had been placed on every other table except ours. Thirty minutes later, the napkins and utensils had not arrived and neither had our drinks (a bottle of beer and an iced tea). The hostess appeared at the table of the people seated next to us to explain why they had been waiting three-quarters of an hour for glasses in which to pour the water placed on their table. I took advantage of her presence to ask about the drinks we had waited a half-hour for, again inquired about the napkins and utensils, and asked for more chips. Ten minutes later, the beer and iced tea appeared but still no napkins or utensils or chips. When the bus boy came to retrieve the by-now empty water bottle, I asked about the chips and, again, about the napkins and utensils. He told us they were out of chips but, to his credit, he did bring the napkins and utensils. Sixty-five minutes after we sat down and 50 minutes after we ordered, our dishes appeared. A Christmas miracle! Well, not so fast. My dining partner's meal appeared. The plate that the employee tried to set before me was not what I had ordered. When I told him what he brought was not what I ordered, the guy said the waitress must have made a mistake and tried to convince me to eat what he had brought. He noted that it would take "at least" another 20 minutes to prepare the correct dish. Though I was quite hungry, I did not take him up on his offer and just canceled my meal. I watched my companion eat his salmon and nibbled on his side salad. Then we asked for the check and, when it came 10 minutes later, I paid the bill and we left. As I ate the Snickers bar I bought at the gas station on the walk back to the hotel, I felt a momentary twinge of guilt over the 3-cent tip I left the waitress; but it was Christmas so I concluded my generosity was justified. She deserved every penny -- all three of them. (Note to Jaguar: it's swell that you decided to open on Christmas. But if you don't have the staff, will, or ability to do so, maybe you shouldn't bother. It's pretty difficult to leave a bad taste in the mouth of a customer who didn't get to eat a meal, but you did it!)

Dinner at Jaguar

By Eugeniya H |

I had the most pleasant evening at the Jaguar! The server recommended plate of Arroz con Mariscos was so delicious, I need to come back to this place soon. My special thanks for an exceptional service and personal attention, and professionalism fo my server Gilberto. Thanks to his suggestion, I had the perfect dinner. I highly recommend this place and the server.

Fairly expensive place

By LoveAllInclusiveResorts |

My wife ordered Mixed seafood with rice and she enjoyed it very much. I ordered Churrasco Argentino and it was a very good steak. I think the sauce is on the oily side and I dip too much of it. Overall, very good. Waiters are very nice and helpful.

Flavorful

By Christian V |

This was the most flavorful Latin food we have ever had. The ceviche was great as were our main dishes!

Excellent tastes and a good experience

By Charlotte |

This is a great place to have dinner. Nice and serviceminded staff, excellent food, and a vibrant, but also romantic location. The meat was juicy and tasted really good. All the sides and sauces were excellent as well! The dessert was big and perfect to share.

Innovative and Unique Dining

By phxaztraveler |

I absolutely love this restaurant. I have been coming here for many years and I recommend it to many of my business colleagues when they are in town. The Ceviche is so fresh and the food is prepared with such artistry. I always make this restaurant my first stop when visiting the Coconut Grove area. Keep up the great work! See you on my next visit.

Wow

By David Y |

I really loved the food and vibe there. We have grilled octopus and shrimp as well as seafood ceviche.. It was probably one of the best I've had.

Pretty good

By Ke'Ren G |

Staff was friendly and offered timely service. The food was good!! We ordered ceviche sampler, a full order of ceviche, salad, and 2 cocktails. Everything was fresh and tasty. It was not the best ceviche we had while in the Miami area but I would go back.

INCREDIBLE FOOD AND SERVICE!!

By HChap5 |

We visited Jaguar for a business lunch and the food and drinks were INCREDIBLE! We had the ceviche, guacamole, salmon Norma and the steak dish with shrimp. It was all incredibly delicious!! My colleague has been coming here for 20 years when she’s in town and thought I should try it. I will be back!!! Adalberto was wonderful. Incredibly kind, great service and recommendations. The best restaurant I’ve been to in Miami. Try it!!!

Great ceviche

By kmex |

Great food and atmosphere. Sat at the bar and had ceviche and fried calamari. Fresh and well prepared. Definitely will return.

Great food and awesome service!! Ask for Gilberto!

By Courtney G |

We were in Miami last week visiting our daughter who landed her dream job as a dolphin trainer at Miami Seaquariun! We were staying in the Grove and decided to give Jaguar a try based on her recommendation and so glad we did!! Not only was the food amazing but we had one of the best servers we have ever had! Gilberto was fabulous! We really love dining but the food is not all we look for we really love good service and I mean good service with personality! We enjoy spending time at the table and look for just the right amount of service not too much not too little! It seemed as if Gilberto was standing close by just waiting to see if we needed him because we never waited he was always there! Not too close not too far! When I struggled ordering a new cocktail I had never tried he Suggested I give it a go and promised if I didn’t like it he would replace it with whatever I wanted no problem! I ended up loving it!! For my meal I had the CHURRASCO ARGENTINO which I highly recommend with the grilled veggies on the side. My only small complaint is that the red peppers and zuccini were phenomenal but who the heck wants to eat grilled red onions? That was the only thing left on my plate when I was done! LOL. My husband had the steak tacos which he also liked except he is not a big fan of the corn tacos but Gilberto took care of that and had fresh flour tortillas delivered promptly!Anyway food was great service was even better, atmosphere was great very busy in a good way and of course the grove as always it’s just such a great place! what a great area if you haven’t been there definitely try it!!

Fun Pub Atmosphere with Good Food

By Michael P |

Totally enjoyed dining at this lovely restaurant. The menu was full of excellent options, the service excellent, the food quality very good and very inexpensive for such a great dining experience. We would have expected to pay substantially more for a comparable meal. Truly a venue worth visiting many times. On our next visit to Coconut Grove we certainly plan to visit it again.

Loud, slow and inaccurate service, pricey

By usefulaeb |

This was our third visit to Jaguar-- this time just for drinks and a snack and to see if we'd just had bad luck before. Our previous visits had included pretty decent, even good food, but the service and the noise put us off. We don't mind leisurely. We do mind unreasonably slow (this time it was a 25-minute wait after we ordered two shots while sitting AT THE BAR), and worse, we got the wrong drinks too-- just like we got the wrong food last time. The tequila selection is not as broad as it should be-- which I admit may be because I have a preference for Herradura, and a preference for reposadas. I am glad for their sake that others have had a better experience, but for us, the chemistry just doesn't seem to be there, which is a shame.

Food, service and price for a great combination!!!

By hectorfrommiami |

Clean restaurant, with great service, the portions are fine and the prices go accordingly. No problem coming back anytime here

Creative Cuisine in the Groovy “Grove”

By Jane H |

I’ve been coming to Jaguar Ceviche Bar and Latin American Grill since they first opened in Downtown Coconut Grove 13 years ago. Although I’m a native New Yorker, I was raised in this beautiful and unique annex of Miami. Jaguar has long been my “go to” place for dinner and happy hour when I am in the neighborhood. The food and service is consistently great, set in an artful ambiance that reflects the vibe of the “Grove.” Their full menu offers an outstanding selection of starters, ceviches, and main courses of grilled seafood and meats, as well as various specialties of the house all prepared with a Latin American flair. Their portions are copious and at times perfect for sharing — like the Mexico City Taqueria Platter. My absolute favorite dish is their Ceviche Nuevo. This is prepared in an indescribably delicious aji amarillo based sauce with fresh cooked shrimp (or octopus/squid), minced radish and toasted corn nuts as a garnish. — a melange of spicy and tangy, exploding with flavor. There are a tantalizing array of ceviches with both Asian and Peruvian infusions, served individually on porcelain “spoons,” as well as mid-size, and larger platter portions. Their happy hour features discount ceviche spoons as well as other appetizers to whet any appetite, served together with half priced libations. On a recent solo visit for happy hour and enjoyed hospitable service by Alex the bartender, who brought me two complimentary tastings of two new additions to the menu of a corn and yellow tomato and watermelon, tomato gazpachos, both sensationally refreshing and tasty! Last but not least, make room for one of their sinful deserts. I cannot recommend Jaguar enough, for both casual and fine dining in a groovy Grove setting!

Great Meal at the Bar

By dewayne t |

Enjoyed the Ceviche sampler at the bar and a great Sangria. The service was fast and everyone was very nice.

Saturday Lunch

By Alex R |

My wife and I are visiting Coconut Grove on our catamaran- Yacht A Fun. Jaguar’s is always a must-go restaurant for us. They have fine Mojitos and wine. The up scale pricing matches the location. Then again, there was a full crushed lime and lots of mint in my drink. Diann had grilled shrimp with a side of chopped celia’s salad- iceberg & romaine black bean vinaigrette w/ tomato cilantro jalapeno avocado peppers & crispy tortillas $20 We shared the ceviche oriental which is tuna ginger soy jalapenos shallots cilantro lime grape seed oil avocado cucumber ans esame seeds. $11 and quite the serving. Good stuff! My entre’ was arroz con mariscos- which is fresh‎ seafood shrimp calamari octopus & mahi mahi sauteed in guajillo butter & garlic served w/ our special house rice & a creamy aji amarillo sauce w/ hint of pernod breandy & saffron. $24 (the Amarillo sauce was rich with egg yoke) If you enjoy quality flavors, great presentation, and attentive service- you should give this spot a try.

Next time again

By BellaTravelStory |

The fillet and ceviche were excellent dishes and delicious. Same goes for the view and that not everyone who passes by watchs you eating. Simplistic decoration and a very welcoming service are one of the reasons why we will come back next time.

Latin American Combobulation

By Lexidove |

Wow! We loved the food here. So many choices and options. We wanted to try them all. We settled on a tuna ceviche starter to share. Tiradito Oriental. Thinly sliced delicious tuna, cucumber, onion & coriander with crunchy corn kernels. The mildly ginger/jalepeno sauce complemented the dish perfectly. I would been satisfied with this dish as a main. Tortilla chips and a hot spicy salsa on the side was just $2.50. Mains Bife de Lomo was exquisite. Mouthwatering beef with a tasty coating. A creamy mix of avocado coriander & green pepper was the sauce. A choice of sides. I opted for Celia’s salad. A bit bland and I didn’t love the amount of beans, but it was as described and just a poor choice for me. Pork Pernil A huge hunk of pork in a gorgeous tangy sauce with big fat chips. Very filling and very scrumptious. Our server was attentive. There was a bit of a language barrier as she did not understand some of our questions. WI-FI would have been useful for us to translate some of the menu. (We asked about WIFI but we were informed that it was not available unless we asked the manager) The food is a Mexican/South American fusion. Many Mexican flavours with a high end twist.

Very good!

By Bernadett Mln |

Lovely dinner, delicious food and nice service for good price! While we were waiting we got some delicious veggi chips & salsa. I ate the quoinoa salad and my husband the beef burger. The waiter brought the food fast and was very friendly. Loved it!

Dinner

By betsyor |

Always a great time at Jaguar in Coconut Grove. Our fav restaurant. Best martini ever. Best ceviche and tiradito. Wonderful food and service. Truly our fav Miami restaurant.

Interesting Menu

By James S |

This place had a pretty decent menu of what some folks told me was authentic Latin-American food. It was really a hit-or-miss experience, which more misses than hits on the day we went. I am told it is better than our experience, so I would give it another try another time.

Dinner was great!

By Evelyn L |

Get the ceviche, grilled octopus, and hibiscus pisco. Delicious food, consistently. Thanks to Gilberto for the great service!

Our First Time There - All Good!

By AreWeHavingFunYet |

We were visiting Miami and went to Coconut Grove. We stopped at Jaguar for an early dinner. We had the Cilantro Soup, Arroz con Mariscos, and the Tijuana Caesar. All was delicious. The Cilantro Soup was specially good! Service was prompt and attentive. And the restaurant has a great vibe. It happened to be Happy Hour when we were there, so we got some great savings on the drinks.

Excellent ceviche

By roberthofman |

Great place to have ceviche in a great vibrant part of Miami; restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere (music a little loud). The recommended dishes like salmon and mahi-mahi were really good. But ceviche spoons should not be missed.

Great and awesome!

By jdcardena |

It was my first time in Jaguar and the food was really really good! I am impressed with the flavor and quality of the food. Well done!!

Very Nice Lunch

By ACraigH2Oskier |

I had the fish tacos which were seasoned perfectly. Husband has mahi mahi lunch, all great. Kids had steak sandwich and chicken sandwich both were filling and tasted wonderful. Plantains and salsa that came with meals was also very good. Ceviche sampler was worth trying, all quite tasty.

Good seafood

By spencerusa |

Very reliable, informal seafood focused restaurant with great ceviche options and fish tacos. Booth seating inside and some outdoor tables. No valet, as I recall. Unlike some reviewers, I had no problems with the service...pleasant, prompt and accurate.

Great Latino food

By Alexander P |

This place had a sumptuous menu with a range of Latino food but mainly Peruvian. The cerviche is fantastic and the sampler is an excellent way to try a number of options. I had the Lomo saltado which came with chunky potatoes rather than fries which was a great twist. My wife had the octopus which was cooked to perfection. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.

Disappointed

By FPAdventurer |

I was very disappointed with this restaurant. I hadn’t been there in more than a year and it was not this bad. I even asked if the owner or chef changed. First, the menu is all over the place (not sure if it is Peruvian, Mexican or what). I ordered a simple traditional Peruvian Ceviche and it was flavorless. The Ecuadorian empanadas was pretty good. The bread pudding was pretty bad. The best dish was a basic fish taco dish. If you appreciate food, this restaurant is not for you.

Can't get enough of it

By Mila P |

If and when you are in Miami, you should take the time to go to Jaquar. The food and the drinks are a cut above the rest. I get tired of reading reviews that rave about many restaurants in Miami only to be gravely disappointed.... Go to Jaguar...you'll love it.

Lovely food

By Elleface89 |

Visited here for dinner with my husband whilst staying nearby - lovely food and nice atmosphere. The bread pudding was delicious!

Great Food, Weak Service

By Whissely |

Food here is very tasty and you have an option of inside or outside dining. Ours was a party of 6 and everything we ordered was tasty. The problem is the service. Things did not arrive together, things took long to arrive; in short there was no balance as to how we were serverd. Some things just took too long to get to the table once we ordered then. This is a good place, but be sure to bring your patience along.

Delicious

By WiltshireLuxury |

Great vibe and service. Caipirinha delicious, as was the draft Clara beer, ceviche and guacamole. Highlight definitely the desserts though!

Mexican

By Viajandois |

Mostly mexican / tex-mex food, with a very family-like ambient. Entrées were very good but the main course, which we ordered the meat-taco was alright.

Nice Latin-flavored restaurant

By Michael T |

This is a nice restaurant in t he Grove. The menu is pretty extensive and the food and service is good. It is a bit loud but not too bad. There is also seating outside. Nice place overall.

Fantastic Latin Food

By VacaCouple2014 |

This is a real find. The food is excellent, the service is excellent and the ambiance is nice, quiet and great decor. We enjoyed our meal very much. My husband had the Sunday special (Moquecaquinotian) with octopus and shrimp over quinoa and I had the Salmon Norma. We shared a Kale Caesar Salad (they do need to lighten up the amount of dressing as we had to have it redone) came back EXCELLENT.

OMG soooooo good!

By joanncassidy |

Ceviche to die for, liked the one with tomatoes best. Lomo saltado great but hubby's seafood dish over rice was even better. Crafted sour cocktcocktail sublime and fresh flan excellent. Service atmosphere both fantastic too! Best food in the Grove.

Still a wonderful restaurant!

By Louis H |

We don't get down to Miami often for dinner when we're down for plays or other events, we like to go to Jaguar. We've been back a few times since our last review and feel that it's at least as good, if not better. The decor and atmosphere are welcoming and lively, the service is great, and the food is delicious. The bar continues to very competent and not stingy with the drinks, They have several ceviche choices, and all of the ones that we've tried have been great. The main course selections that we've tried have all been satisfying. They have outdoor, indoor and bar seating, and the restaurant is highly recommended by us.

Still wonderful.

By Louis H |

Whenever we're down in the Coconut Grove area, we try to eat at Jaguar. It's pan-Latin American with a varied menu that always is top-notch. Between us, we had dishes from Mexico, Peru, and Venezuela. Our Columbian-American waiter Alberto was great. It's a place not to miss.

Peruvian food, who knew!?!

By Mary G |

Yum, food great. Ceviche presentation was unique and delish. Wait staff polite and service very attentive. We loved it!

My waitress, Diana made me feel at ease as celiac eating for the first time there.

By Erlinda N |

Our first time at Jaguar restaurant and the reception, accommodations, food, atmosphere and dessert was excellent. As a celiac. I was in great hands and can't wait to come back! Gracias Team.. I will live longer because of your efforts ;) Waitress Diana was my life line and Manager George Washington was wonderful. @GoGFyourself

Great first time experience. I was in and out, kinda in a rush but beautiful place and amazing customer service. Will return

Bad service!

By Ayr N |

Bad service to all the officials! We were informed that there were no cutlery available to everyone! I had to get up three times: Pick up talher Order a beer Pick another cutter It wasn't full! Very good food! Bad service!

Beautiful Restaurant

By BlueMarlinDave |

This is a beautiful restaurant located in the heart of Coconut Grove. The menu is Peruvian and had many items to my liking. I decided on the Churasco with Roasted Vegetables. The Churasco was a little tough for my taste. The Roasted Vegetables were amazing. Mark our server did an excellent job. I wouldn’t hesitate in returning here and trying another dish.

Outstanding!

By Nathalie D |

We stayed in Coconut Grove for 3 days and had 2 lunches and 2 dinners at Jaguar! It was THAT good. The staff is incredibly attentive. The food is to die for. We tried different dishes every time and everything was simply delicious. The pork pernil notably was the best pork I have ever had. The lunch specials “hot lunches” are a fantastic deal! You must dine here! I can’t wait to be back!

Delicious food, relaxing venue, & excellent service from this hot spot in Coconut Grove!

By Kathy H |

Cannot wait to go back to this incredible restaurant! Food was delicious and our service was excellent. TUNA NIKKEI ceviche was fabulous! The brisket sandwich, CHIVITO URUGUAYO was amazing! QUINOA SALAD was fresh, light, & delicious! Everything was spot on and sooooo good. Definitely one of the absolute best restaurants we visited on our stay in Coconut Grove!

Ceviche and more

By armando g |

First visit last week, great service, nice location, excellent food! Mostly Peruvian menu with a Mexican influence, results in amazing dishes such as the ceviche tostada. Other items were excellent too, even the iced tea was top notch. Next time in this area will include a return to this great restaurant.

nice enough

By madiestan |

I came here for the Miami spice lunch special and ordered the following - 1/ starter - Vuelve a la Vida Ceviche - Seafood Mix, tossed in a spicy tomato based sauce with citrus and habanero, 2/ entrée - Lomo Saltado - Beef Tenderloin cubes, aji amarillo and shoyu sauce, Fresh tomatoes, red onions and hand cut potatoes, Topped with Quail Egg, 3/ dessert -Flan de Queso - Our Creamy Version of this Classic Latin American Dessert, Served with Almond-Raisin Florentine. The service was excellent - always with a smile. Was surprised at the décor though - not sure what style I thought it was trying to conquer - it seemed rather old fashioned to me. Anyway the food in short was good. My starter - was delicious, fresh and is supposedly THE DISH to have to cure a hangover - I would imagine the citrus tomatoe sauce would awaken you! Also what was nice upon arrival you receive very fresh and warm plaintains and purple chips with a nice sauce - which were the BEST I have ever had... The Entree had a sweet quails egg on the top which looked very pretty. The meat was a little tough for me - but the dish was plentiful and tasted good. The dessert - boy it was sooooo creamy! Very nice, like a creme caramel but a lighter creamy touch which I preferred. It was also served with a caramel nut brittle which I thought was another nice touch, althoiugh I did not dedect any raisons in it as it was supposed to have.

Awesome place!

By Sandy |

My friends and I have been to Jaguar many times for lunch and happy hour and we are never disappointed. Service is superb and food is delicious! Kathleen is wonderful.

Great restaurant with lots of delicious options.

By ABZ79 |

Great selection of food from veggie to seafood to meat. Something for everyone! Everything was delicious! Must visit.

Good Latin Food

By hospitableme |

Absolutely love this place! Depending on day and time, this place can be pretty busy. Perfectly located, it is easy to see why it is a fan fave. Food is absolutely delicious. Service is spectacular, yet still homie. The ceviche is definitely worth trying, but they have so many other great options to choose from. Happy hour is also a great deal!

Great family night

By cameronjhutton |

Went for dinner with my family while visiting the area. The food, service and atmosphere were great. Hope to visit again before we leave.

Bad experience :/

By Daniel M |

Really bad experience, my party and I were seated at 8:30 and we weren’t able to order till 9:10. We weren’t offered menus till 9 pm, and we’re never given cocktail menus. We insisted to the manager 3 times to send over a server with menus. It was a birthday celebration and we didn’t have anything on the table. Finally our server came and she apologized, she exclaimed that she was here on her day off and that she was sorry about the wait. I work in the restaurant business and know that things can get pretty hectic during a rush. The restaurant was 1/2 full and the delay in service was unacceptable. Ordered the white sangria which was decent and food was just okay, a little pricey but fish was fresh. Overall the experience wasn’t good just because the service was so bad. Silverware came out AFTER our food was placed on the table. Table next to us was also offered 10% off because their service was so bad. Mind you, our visit was on a Monday night. Very disappointed :/ I had higher hopes for Jaguar.

Mahi mahi tacos to die for!

By Chris D Watson |

Heard about Jaguar from my client in Miami....they raved about it...so I just had to go. Had the mahi mahi tacos...out of this world tasty, fresh, generous portion! Good vibe, efficient service, friendly staff. Highly recommend this place.

Awsome!!!

By 99andrea99 |

Can't get any better than this; would strongly recommend the pisco sour, just like the original one you would get in Peru. A bit pricy compared to other Ceviche places and always full (i.e. not always being able to get a table) but truly worth it.

Miami Spice Extraordinaire

By Joe P |

Ventured into Jaguar in Coconut Grove to try their Miami Spice menu. Fantastic service and blown away by the dinner options. The tuna appetizer, Arroz de Mariscos, and Flan de Queso were all amazing. We’ll definitely be back!

Oh, WOW

By winelady0605 |

We were staying in Coconut Grove and found this great place. The ceviche is to die for!! Try the ceviche sampler first as they are all different. The wine pours were generous. We also had fish soup that was excellent. I think I could have come back for many more nights as the quality was excellent.

Good Food - Poor Service

By Vilsandi |

We were staying in Coconut Grove and went to the jaguar on A friday night. It was a busy night and quite crowded. It was apparent they were seriously understaffed to wait on the tables and especially the bar. There were four of us and the food did not come out all at the same time, neither the starters nor the main courses, Though the food arrived before the drinks!!! The food quality was quite good, both the meats and the fish but the experience was disappointing due to the extremely slow and uneven service. Our waitress did her very best and was quite good and professional but was even more frustrated than we were by the slow and uneven service. When and if the service improves, we would return as the food was quite good but still must say it was not a good evening of dining.

What a pleasent surprise

By Albert C |

My wife and I stumbled upon this gem. Literally. It was raining and we just met some friends for drinks after a day at the Coconut Grove Arts Festival and were looking for a place to eat and we just popped in to duck the rain and said let's eat here. best decision of the night. I never heard of this place and figured it would be average at best, but it looked cool so we stayed. First , let me state that the waiter ( I wish I wrote his name down ) was one of the best , most attentive and inspired waiters I have ever met. Then the food and drinks were served and to my surprise, It was all top notch. The food, the staff, the atmosphere all top notch. At the end we were approached by the GM to see how everything went. I couldn't stop telling him how great of an experience it all was. He asked if we were there from the grove show. I guess the badge around my neck gave it away. We told him I was an artist there this year. He asked if I could show him pics of my work and I did. Next thing you know we were there for another 20 minutes or so showing him my art and discussing other things too. What a nice guy and one who takes pride in his restaurant. We will most definately be returning there and I highly recommend this place if you are ever visiting the Grove.

Good and friendly staff

By MichGVA |

Good restaurant. Staff very friendly and attentive. Had arroz con mariscos (rice with seafood) which was very tasty. Will come back to try other options.

Delicious in every way

By KimCarey |

coconut Grove was a wonderful place to stay with many restaurants and shops. Jaquars caught our eye with its outside Jaguar Mural and it did not disappoint! My husband & I got different cerviches to share and they were beyond incredible. The sauce it was put upon was absolutely deluciousl. Specialty Cocktails were also superb!

Favourite Lunch in Miami!

By Cindy W |

My husband and I only eat once a day while on vacation, so we pick our restaurant based on tripadvisor reviews or personal recommendations hoping not to be disappointed! We are excited to return to Miami because Jaguar Latin - American Kitchen was our favourite lunch during our 15 day vacation. We sat on their patio and soon after our arrival our server brought us complimentary delicious plantain and blue chips with homemade spicy salsa. He recommended the Ceviché of the day, unfortunately I don’t remember what is was called. We don’t usually love Ceviché, but this one was fantastic! My husband ordered Steak with Chimichurri, he loved it! I ordered Arroz Con Mariscos, as recommended by our server, DELICIOUS! The only complaint was the renovations being done to Coconut Grove, so we didn’t get to see the beautiful landmarks in the area. Next time!

A surprising gem

By steven_newman1966 |

We were visiting the coco walk and did not realize it was under construction So, we decided to go to lunch and we walk upon Jaguar’s What a great place for lunch & Dinner. The food was tasty and delicious The presentation was excellent and the taste & food was of quality The owners actually walked around to make sure we were happy with our meal Our waitress had just moved back after 6 month of living some where else and she also was a wonderful addition What a great find!

Always awesome

By LocalRam |

Just got I to CG and had dinner with the kids at Jaguars outside. Food and service were fantastic as always. Had a plate of the Oriental Ceviche for the table to start. My daughter said "I would have just ordered this for my dinner". Excellent. My wife had the tacos and wanted to go back the next night to get them again. I had the Churasco steak plate. Fantastic. Everything was excellent. Great location. Can't go wrong.

Wow

By Isaac Clayton |

I don't do many reviews, but this place has amazing food. Crazy good. We had steak dishes, and everything was incredible. Drinks were top notch. Eat here.

Exceptional food and service.

By Jeff D |

This place was fantastic. The food was exceptional- my wife had the ceviche - I had the Picanha Adobada. Our server - Daniela “Danny” was attentive and had a great disposition.

Great Restaurant

By jamesprich |

My wife and I have been a number of times over about ten years and it has been consistent with reliably good food and attentive service. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the dishes and what's going on in Coconut Grove. We always enjoy chatting up the locals to stay attuned.

Must “go to” place in the Grove!⭐️

By john |

I come to Miami often and I usually don’t care for Miami but I love the Grove. I have not been in Jaguar in a few years and I forgot how good it is! Even better was the service and the staff. I certainly will return and suggest you try it if you are anywhere near.

Great Street-side Dining

By Manatee4Me |

Jaguar is one our favorite places to eat in the Miami area. The ceviche spoon sampler is terrific - just six big bites of flavorful and varied ceviches. On this visit, we tried some tried and true items like Celias Chopped Salad, Huevos Rancheros and Lomo Saltado, all very good. I tried the Quinoa Salad for the first time and very much enjoyed it - unlike other "quinoa salads" I have eaten which were mostly greens with a dusting of grains, this was a generous hunk of grain with a few greens. Our only disappointment was the Monte Cristo, which my husband has had and loved in the past. This time, it was very thick with meat and not cooked through, the cheese not even melted. He ate it but was not very happy with the changes. Even in the rain, the covered outdoor seating was comfortable and dry. Service was attentive and appropriately paced.

A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. FIVE STAR

By Lival |

It has to be tried to realise how good the food is. Super tasty. Brilliant atmosphere. Best restaurant staff with great recommendations. Had a fantastic family night with the best food .. steak tacos to die for.

Nice place

By Gisela Sender |

I've been there with my family after a Sunday morning at a park. It is beautiful and comfortable inside, the waiter was very nice. The food was good and portions are big, if you are not hungry I suggest to share, especially if you have the complimentary appetizer (very nice too!). I recommend this place!

Good ceviche restaurant!

By HoneyHanne |

Located in charming Coconut Grove, this restaurant has a nice terrace. We had different kinds of ceviche, which were all good. Great selection of drinks as well!

Latin Fusion Hit or Miss

By Arlenete |

Reservations accepted, with outdoor seating available. Our table was adjacent to the extremely busy Grand Avenue. Too close for comfort. Appetizers included a ridiculously small tin of chips with salsa and a tasty Celia’s salad. Fresh guacamole was served with fried pork rinds—a complete overkill. No craft cocktails here, everything arrived heavily sweetened other than the basic margarita. The entrees arrived about 45 minutes after ordering, with the generous grilled mahi tacos as the standout entree. All other dishes were mediocre, including the tough picanha, over seasoned stringy pork, and so on. The muerte hot sauce is an extra charge, as are jalapeños, but added a necessary kick. Overall, in spite of errors made on the billing (some items didn’t make it to the table) the server was friendly and helpful in a busy mix of locals and tourists. Oh so-so Miami.

Ceviche lovers paradise!

By papaphila |

My wife and I love the Jaguar. We are frequently found sitting at the bar during their terrific happy hour. Order the ceviche during happy hour (2 spoons for $3.00 or other goodies at the same price. Dinner is super serving Peruvian and other Latin American dishes. We like their fish tacos after having several spoons of ceviche. Drinks are large and reasonably priced, especially during happy hour. The staff is friendly and attentive and their goal is to insure that the customers are truly satisfied. I always bring my visitors to the Jaguar and when they return to the Grove, the always want to revisit theJag.

Very good!

Food was fresh and good (I had the chicken quesadilla...very good; my husband had the chicken taquitos...good but a little dry) Great margaritas...well priced...but the prize this time was our server 'Gil'...he was great...friendly and helpful....ask for him! This is not our first time nor will it be our last!

Ceviche and drinks are very good

By Andrew K |

We came here for drinks and ceviche after a flight from New York City, and the cool and comfortable interior, music, friendly waiter, ceviche ($26), Chips and Salsa ($3) and Pisco Sours $17 each) relaxed us.

Wonderful food, within walking distance of Mayfair house hotel! Just around the corner from our hotel, we stopped to eat our first night out and Oscar, our cheerful waiter, was quick and efficient and affable. We had the tacos, my wife had the pork and I had the steak tacos, the steak tacos were awesome! The pork tacos were good too, but man the steak tacos! (Did I say they were awesome?) They bring out the fixings and about four tortillas so you can make tacos right at your plate. There was very little left over, so we finished that with a fork, but it wasn't a lot after four tacos. Very filling!

Excellent ceviche and seafood

Their specialty is ceviches and they offer a good variety. The black market ceviche is delicious. We had also fish tacos and the mahi was fresh and tasty. The terrace is the most popular.

Best meal of the trip!

By TheGoBird |

Our server, George, was proud of his restaurant and provided excellent service. Was the best meal of our trip. Nicely decorated with option of indoor and outdoor dining. The food came quickly even though we got there when they opened. Plenty of gluten-free options.

Enjoyed our meal

The restaurant has a nice decor and the wait staff was very pleasant. Our meals were good, some of the dishes were excellent and some were just above average. They have decent variety, but I felt like some additional menu items would help.

Superb taste of Latin America in Coconut Grove

By Louis D |

Outstanding Ceviche. Wonferful variety of Peruvian and Mexican dishes to select from. Very casual yet elegant setting. Very attentive staff. Beautiful presentation of dishes served. Also offering wonderful drinks such as Pisco Sours.

Unexpectedly good

Found this place by chance while strolling around Coconut Grove. Fantastic food - they said they were famous for ceviche and that is absolutely true. Outside seating is offered, too, although not too romantic at a larger street.

Consistently good, fresh food and service

In the heart of Coconut Grove Jaguar offers delish tapas sort of peruvian/american inspired receipes. Small restaurant but some pleasant streetside tables. Service is good , menu variety and pricing will leave you quite pleased

Wonderful flavours, great wait staff

By MBSA8 |

Chopped Celia’s salad and fish tacos and sharing...what could be better than that? Perhaps add in plantain chips to start. All flavours we will remember fondly from our vacation adventure. And the staff were all super friendly and efficient. Only down side was we were only able to get here twice on our trip.

Great spot — upscale but also family friendly

We came here with our 3 kids (6, 4, and 1) and sat outside on the sidewalk. Our food was wonderful and the staff were very accommodating. Bathrooms were clean! Would come back anytime.

Great meal, great service

Just great... the menu is aligned with tourists' taste which may be different, but everybody will find something good. Peruwian with Mexican accents, not too spicy, and really great service. We loved it.

Great

Cool Latin spot in the grove

By HBerke |

Great happy hour with half priced drinks and $8 appetizers, from 4-7 pm every day. Menu has lots of delicious options, ceviches, seafood, meat, etc all with Latin flavors. We enjoyed a fried rice dish, the Patagonia chicken and two yummy desserts - cheesecake the crepes. Service was excellent and prices reasonable. Would return

Fantastic!

I can't say enough wonderful things about this restaurant! Gabriel, our server, was the best - outstanding, prompt and friendly. The food was delicious - both my husband and I LOVED our meals! Drinks were superb as well. I never write reviews but I felt that I had to this time, because our experience was so amazing and wonderful!

Quick bite in Miami/Coconut Grove

By Oscar A |

We wear walking around looking for a place for a quick bite and cold beer... and Jaguar caught our attention - nice atmosphere and the staff was VERY friendly and attentive. Since we did not want anything heavy - it was perfect, for there was a nice selection of ceviches to choose from and the waiter suggested a couple of options. We ordered three options and they all were delicious. I would definitely recommend Jaguar if you are in the neighborhood.

My new Grove favorite

By Michael M |

Finally tried this spot after it's been recommended to me for years. Our waiter could not have been any more professional, attentive and friendly. I had a mahi sandwich that was probably the best I've ever had. Crispy fresh plantain chips and salsa are brought to the table with the menus. Looking forward to trying the rest of the menu. Owner is always around and very involved.
