Relaxed sports bar

By Andy P |

Great wings and brisket. The service was brilliant and it was a lovely place to have a beer and watch some college football. Would definitely go back again.

Wow!

By Laura S |

First, our server April was THE BEST server! She got our water without asking. Gave us just enough time to look over menu. Brought us extra napkins without asking. Then, she brought us samples of draft beers and wines. Our food took no time. Portion sizes were more than expected and very presentable. Highly recommend for customer service and food. The prices are too good to be true! If you like bbq food this the place to check out.

Don't order sallad for main course

By AnJo |

We made the mistake of ordering sallads for main course in this sports bar. The chicken wings and other fried items at the tables around us looked tasty - the salads were huge, but completely unappetizing.

Not so good wings

By Sharon E |

I ordered 3 dozen BONELESS wings for the SB and received bone in, dried out wings. Made multiple attempts to contact restaurant to correct the order and calls go to a voicemail that has a full mailbox. Spent $112 for nothing...

Great group meal

By BeerME207 |

Fantastic American Pub style food. 12 of us dinned her on a whim and were very pleased with the pricing and the high level of service that came along. Pizza is flatbread style, that had a perfect blend of garlic in the crust that lead to a marvelous taste. Large serving sizes, with fantastic fries. Good beer selection, with two Allagash (Maine) beers on tap. Will return when in Chicago again.

Wing Ding

By Anthony K |

The wings here are better than most places. A good variety and flavor choices. The wings were juicy, tender and very flavorful. Not greasy, I had the assortment and was not disappointed. Very good drink selections and wide choice of craft beers. The prices were good, considering the high rent and tourist location. Very good service, come early, gets crowded on football game days. Great atmosphere.

A great lunch

By Jeff J |

Made our second stop at Jake Melnick's after eating there last summer. The second time was as good as the first! The portions and quality were outstanding. The only bad part was that it was so hot out that we couldn't enjoy the outdoor dining that was available like we did the first time.

Great Wings Not the BBQ

By asics447 |

We came here on suggestion from a barmaid from a bar around the corner that didnt serve food and was told to get the wings they are outstanding and they were some of the best we every had but the BBQ was not really good at all. Now we ordered the mixed platter to taste a little bit of everything. At the time we had a couple of beers in us and just shrugged off the taste of having a long day and some tasty beverages. But it tasted like the food was old and sitting underneath a light and they threw some BBQ over it. We didnt notice it until later that night and man it came back with a vengance Go for the wings and stick to the beers and burgers and you should be fine , avoid the BBQ Great service and great waiter

Hottest chickein wings in town

By danielhN9113JL |

The food and service here are incredible. The chicken wings are some of the best I have ever had. Also, the hottest, to the point where you have to sign a waiver! If you like a cozy atmosphere and some great food I would recommend this spot.

Great atmosphere, great wings

By dajascot |

Popped in here yesterday late afternoon having just flown in from Scotland and wanted a quite bite to eat. Really impressed great weekend atmosphere families and adults. Seated immediately despite being busy and service efficient. Buffalo wings and Nashville wings to die for, huge portions so we just stick to appetisers, local beer worth a try too. Yum great first impression of Chicago from us - thank you!

Amazing

By Donnie O |

Staff very friendly and I had the Jake’s double burger was excellent and the music and atmosphere is very nice highly recommend and sports on every tv!

Really great bar

By kimberley |

Excellent food, we had the waffle fries and caramelised onion dip, which was extremely delicious. Then we had the bbq platter which included 5 meats, sides and sauces. The brisket was a little chewy, however the chicken was especially good and my favourite of the platter. Overall a very enjoyable visit. A great place for food and cocktails, lots of choice and good service.

Racist, petulant

By Francisco O |

It was not possible that they deigned to attend to us after 40 minutes, treated us as almsmen, lousy Service, lousy attitude, not recommended

Wings beer and sports

By CountryVet |

Best wings ever and rotating tal beers. Friendly service and if you don’t like wings, there’s BBQ ribs, burgers and chilli

Good atmosphere, food, portions - a solid Chicago experience

By welchtima |

We came on this restaurant while walking back to our hotel from The Mart, and we were hungry. The place was packed but they quickly found us a table, and we were immediately brought water, utensils, and a friendly waitress made some recommendations. I went with the Buffalo Chicken sandwich which came out piping hot, was cooked to perfection, juicy and delicious. If you like Buffalo sauce (essentially Frank's Red Hot) this is a great sandwich. The fries were excellent as well. Service despite a very busy restaurant was great. Top marks here.

One of the best wings ever

By jpmfv@hotmail.com |

Wings are delicious, they have several types of sauces, we tried the 2nd hottest and it was really hot. We ordered some XXX sauce and its really good, but we are used to eating a lot of spicy food, so if you are not dont even try this sauce. We loved this place, we wanted to go back in our Chicago trip but we had no time left.

Very enjoyable!

By DubStub |

This place was fantastic. The service was speedy and friendly. The menu is big and drinks reasonably priced. My husband and I shared a pulled pork/chicken sandwich. They were nice enough to split the sandwich in half and give us both garlic fries (amazing) on our own plates for no extra charge. The food tasted amazing. Would definitely recommend this place!

Average sports bar

By John D |

Next time I’ll try the wings but wasn’t impressed with the rest. Service was slow. Waited forever for food. Not asked for additional drinks. The food was average at best. Hand cut fries were not good. The waffle fries tasted old and cold. Like they had been sitting a while. The grilled cheese was good. The burger was average. I didn’t care for the taste of the pulled pork / brisket burger. The wings actually looked good. If I ever did come back, it would be to try them. On the bright side, good selection of beers on tap.

Good Food but slow service.

By Josh C |

The food was really good. However the service was not so good. Our waiter was friendly but very slow. With 2 kids sitting at the table for one hour and 45mins is too long.

Awesome Sports Bar

By Rich Burden |

If your ever in Chicago this place is an absolute must see and experience! The atmosphere is electric weather it’s pre a Black hawks game or on a boring Sunday afternoon. Incredible, hot, hot, Hot chunky chicken wings and awesome burgers. Beer selection brilliant for the international traveler.

Great for large groups

By CaroStev |

I'd strongly recommend this spot for a larger group pre- or post-game, which appears to be what they're set up for. Two very large tables were sitting empty when my wife and I got there. We were told we'd have a 40-minute wait, along with other couples and smaller groups waiting at the bar. Went for a long walk and got notified they were ready for us. Sat down and served promptly. Wings were very good. Would have liked a couple different options for toppings that were less messy. Salad and fries were okay also. All-in-all a good experience, but not really a couples kind of place -- depending on the couple, I suppose.

Amazing wings

By Lynzie S |

Wow the best wings I’ve had in a long time. Service was great and the waiter really looked after us. Will defo return

Nice sports bar. Very good wings!

By David_J_from_Chicago |

Nice sports bar. We watched the Michigan vs Iowa game at the bar. We ordered wings cooked crispy and beers and they were very good! The service was very good too. Jake’s is a fun place!

The best burger in town

By Cindy Velazquez |

With my friends we go at least once a month. The atmosphere is ideal for this type of food People are very cool, I recommend it

Rating bases on service

By MarshMarshMarsh |

Our server was terrible and it was not a busy night. A table next to ours that had the same waiter and was experiencing the same lack of service. 2 beers on tap were out. Probably won't give this place another try. Food was good but not worth the poor service. We frequent Chicago downtown restaurants and have experienced better!

AMAZING wings!!!

By eclmom47 |

Aside from great bar-b-que, this place is well known for its many types of wings. they don't disappoint!

Fun atmosphere, good food

By heldjenny |

Possibly the best onion rings we’ve ever had. Good burgers and wings. Fun atmosphere with different games on tvs all over the place. We got here early (11:30-ish) on a game day Sunday, and the place filled up VERY quickly. Lots of beers on tap.

Great Wings

By dmba10u |

We were out walking throughout downtown Chicago and wandered up on this place. Fantastic wings. Really wish I had gotten a 2nd order “to go”. LOL We will definitely be stopping back on our next visit

dinner with friends after an early concert

By rblumen1 |

We went for dinner last week with friends and had a pleasant meal. My friend and I had their famous and very good root beer for starters. For dinner my wife and I shared the steak salad. It was mostly lettuce some tomato and a medium sized tenderloin. The salad was a little less than than desired for two. Our friends shared a half of barbecue chicken which was a very adequate sharing plate. We added the side order of corn bread(delicious) which was easily enough for two. Our server was attentive and an excellent server.

Fantastic bar restaurant

By andmol3 |

Passing by and nipped in for lunch. Not disappointed by their sign recommending the chicken wings. Really friendly place. Great bear selection. Staff were great. Would highly recommend

Great place

By Jay |

Nice place. Great place to step away from Michigan Ave. Service was great. Wings are fantastic! Lot of beers on tap. It would be a great place to watch a game. A lot of TVs

Great end to my holiday.

By armagh222 |

We fancied ribs and wings and Jake didn't disappoint. Our server Kevin was great , food portions were exactly what we like and everything was cooked well . There was a really nice vibe in the bar and I would definitely recommend and visit again.

Nice bar

By lafbizguy |

Good food, great happy hour value on drinks and pretty good bar food. Disappointed they didn't have the Pacquiao fight on, but otherwise no complaints.

Great quality food and drink selection!

By EatDrinkRepeat |

I have been to Jake's a few times, and they always deliver. Great atmosphere, amazing quality food and great beer selection. The PB&J wings are my go-to! I wish I lived close to a place like this.

Friendly efficient place

By gazzamuppet |

Theis was probably the nearest bar to my hotel. Always buzzing. Friendly, efficient staff. A good selection of beers. Didn't get around the trying the food. Used a few times during my stay.

Great Food

By Kayla S |

Great burgers and bbq. Got the nachos which I thought were overprices, even for the area until I got them home and saw that it was enough for at least 4 people. They just recently put ribs back on the menu and my husband said they were good.

Great place!

By Joseph C |

Went on 4th of July and the food and menu were fantastic! Service was also very fast! I plan to return in the future. Highly recommend!

Excellent every time!

By Kalephrrr |

We have gone here eveytime we are in Chicago for the last 15 years. It is still great, and I love it. The burgers are fantastic, and the service is always great!

Great atmosphere

By Trevor S |

We visited this restaurant as part of our visit from the UK to Chicago for the Marathon. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was terrific especially the Wings. I asked for a recommendation for a good local beer and was very pleased with it. Loved the atmosphere with the many screens showing various sports and tried to work out the rules of Baseball.

top Tap

By WJD |

Easy to get to eatery with a chilled ambience, very helpful staff and manager and most of all perfectly cooked brisket and chicken. Superb 10/10

Hidden Gem

By c22hubb |

This actually was our favorite we ate at while in Chicago. We found it because it was near our location. The menu was full of all of the typical types of food you would find at any bar or pub. However, all of them were delicious in a unique way. We had the loaded tater tots and the friend pickles as appetizers. Neither disappointed. The tator tots were filled with good cheese and other toppings, but these stood out because of the added truffle oil. Wow! I have never had a tator tot appetizer that tasted like this. Highly recommend trying them. We also got the fried pickles. We get friend pickles everywhere we go and compare them. These were different than I had ever had before. They were full sliced pickles, about 8 inches long. The batter was light, crispy and flavorful. We also loved these! For our meals, I got the pulled pork sandwich. The meat was flavorful enough on its own that I did not need to put any sauce on it at all. However, some bites I did put dip it in some hot bbq sauce as it was very good. They offered 3 house BBQ sauces that were delicious.

Best Wings I've Had

By Sean |

The service was quick, the staff polite and efficient. I had buffalo boneless wings. The awards they've won for their wings are truly deserved. I thoroughly enjoyed everything here. The person I was with ordered a burger and wings which he was wasn't able to finish due to the portion size so be careful about over ordering!

Great visit

By Jessica K |

This place caught my eye with the sign 'best chicken wings'! I told myself I'd get some wings while watching the American football so thought this would be the perfect place. We got a seat right by the fire so it was nice and warm. I didn't feel like there were many drink options for myself but I'm not really into beer and cider. If you are I'm sure you'd find plenty of drinks to your liking. I ordered half and half wings which was 4 BBQ wings and 4 poncho wings, which is garlic and cayenne pepper. This came with ranch dressing and it was all sooo good! It was a lot more filling than I thought and gave my boyfriend two wings as well. I did order fries but the waitress recommended we share the fries on my partners plate because they were big portions. She definitely wasn't wrong. This was just the type of place we were looking for. Cosy, relaxed bar with great food and great service.

Go for the happy hour!

By foodlover788ninag |

Never had fried pickles before they were amazing. The chicken sandwich was over done but not horrible. Great atmosphere to relax and have a beer.

Great time

By ricard071 |

Great time with friends. Excellent time with whole bunch. would like a little mayo with all the dressings.

Great Food and Atmosphere

By jwskis |

Ate here before the Blackhawks game. Beer selection was awesome and food was tasty. Had the brisket sandwich and it was tender and juicy. Server was on top of things even though they were crowded.

Laid back goodness

By AUBeachPotato |

In town for a conference and sought this place for its wings. Wasn't disappointed. Jumbo and crispy. Great beer selection and friendly staff. Will be back.

Good food and beer

By rob |

BBQ food was good, pulled pork was a little dry but everything else was great. Large selection of beers and plenty of screens for sport.

Great place

By Alondra |

We stopped to eat here late at night and we loved it! Our waiter was so friendly helpful on suggestions on drinks and our wings. All the food was delicious, would definitely come back if we’re ever in Chicago again!

Love the vibe here, awesome food!

By Summer S |

Super yummy food! The chicken tenders were delicious and piping hot! Our server was genuinely energetic and kept our drinks filled. Loved the little candle on our table, cute touch.

Superb Wings!

By Pallavi D |

Very underrated place! Great beer and very nice Parmesan fries.. Good for a fun evening out with friends. Located at a convenient walk from the CTA station too

Noisy, crowded and average food

By Allen21096 |

We were at Jake Melnick's Corner Tap for a get-together. We were in a private room, which was nice, since the restaurant was quite busy and crowded. The two bartenders were okay, though one was charging different prices at the cash bar than the other. The food was average, though the shrimp were good-sized and tasty. Parking is difficult in the area. There is a front patio for dining outside.

Worth the stop

By Michele T |

We ate here early on a Saturday night recently. We had no reservation but we were seated quickly. Service was attentive but not overbearing. The brisket platter was ordered with mac and cheese as the side. The meat was very good, tender and the mac and cheese is a very good one. Also ordered off the seasonal menu was the bratwurst burger - also very good and a good size. The apple kraut and pickled red onion tasted great on the burger. Good French fries as well. We ordered the cauliflower from the seasonal menu and it was tasty, but not a wow. We tried two of the specialty cocktails as well - the gin and sin and the modest mule - and enjoyed them both. We would definitely come back to explore other items on the menu. It is family friendly, as well as having a nice sports bar vibe.

Great wings and atmosphere

By Warren |

A great casual restaurant to have a few drinks and enjoy their fantastic chicken wings. Had sport on all of the televisions which was great also. Very friendly staff and well priced.

Great sports bar

By Jennifer P |

We visited on Thanksgiving to watch the Bears vs Lions. It was busy but we were able to get a table right away. We ordered drinks and the decided to get some food. I would recommend the parmesan garlic French fries (they were a favorite at our table). We stayed the whole game and our waitress was great and kept the drinks coming. Loved the atmosphere and we had a great time.

The Wings 🍗🍗Will Knock Your Socks Off! 🧦💨

By Dude Man |

The wings, burgers, chicken sandwiches, and beer are awesome!!! I am getting hungry thinking about it!! Great location in the heart of the city! They have a lot of tv’s so you can catch any game you want to watch! I have always had good service here too! The wings are the star in my opinion here!

Go Bucks!

By Kelly P. |

As Ohioan’s we went for the OSU bowl game and it didn’t disappoint — lots of TV’s, great drinks, good food and accommodating to large parties, like ours! The appetizers were great and fed large groups, too. Within walking distance of hotels and the Mag Mile. Definitely a great find!

Great food and portions

By Justin D |

Ended up here after travelling all day and was pleasantly surprised. The food was excellent and the portions were huge. In addition to that they had a lot of different beer to choose from. The atmosphere was good also and it is a great place to go and watch a game with friends.

Very good

By Cathy E |

Very good food and service. Best onion rings! Sloppy pig sandwich was impressive. Wings were good, blue cheese was unremarkable. Happy hour Kentucky Mule and Old Fashion we’re both a deal for 8 bucks.

Great choice in the city

By soccercoach18 |

Great place with some flavorful food. Wide ranging menu choices. Wings were a little pricey but very good. Good beer selection and good service

PB&J WINGS!!

By Amanda M |

We stumbled upon Jake’s via TripAdvisor and I’m so glad we did. We were lucky enough to be seated right away at lunchtime on a Saturday. The Titanic tots were absolutely amazing! My kids also enjoyed their meals. I had the Chicago burger for only $10 because it was their special that day. The real winner was the pb&j chicken wings. We wished we would have ordered wayyyy more of them. I will forever crave these wings. Our service was great as well. Only thing I wish I knew was the soda my kids ordered were $5, but it was my fault for not looking over the menu more before letting them order it.

Average..

By Matt P |

Nothing special. Maybe I should have order wings since that is everyone is talking about. Service was slow at first then it pick up. Food took awhile and server at first hardly came over but once we got our food she appeared more. The fries were okay. Nothing special. Nothing wrong with this place. It was just okay.

Great wings and Tia was awesome

By Oldmantraveller |

Get the Ponchos wings. Bbq ones are great as well. Fun food fun place. Very popular. Great service. Our server Tia was very helpful not only recommending which wings but also provided great advice on how to get around.

Tasty and reasonably priced

By Velomaniac |

I'm not big fan of wings, but as we passed-by the place looked quite charming, so we decided to give a try - and it was worth it. Ribs in BBQ sauce were fantastic! So we came back next day and had another delight - "prohibition" burger, that was both tasty and great looking. Waiting time and prices are very reasonable, no complains about service.

Casual and Tasty

By Sandra P |

Our last night in Chicago and we were looking for casual and nearby. After reading all the reviews, I wish one of us had gotten the wings but we both got BBQ. I got a half slab of ribs and he got the brisket. Both came with enough fries for three meals and Cole slaw that was really good. I loved the ribs. They were meaty and cooked to perfection...tender but not so much that the meat fell off instantly. The brisket was really good but we both agreed it was not as good as in Austin. No complaints though. There was a good selection of beers to go along with our meals. Many people complained about slow service but we had no problems. Our server was attentive but didn't hover. I have already suggested to some Chicago friends that they should check it out.

A decent spot!

By Valentin S |

Some of us loved 'em, some needed extra beer. Atmosphere was buzzing – good for a post-work unwind, lots of TVs. Burgers were solid, but the wings are the real story. Service was a bit slow, but friendly.

Great Beer and Wings

By richardfarley233 |

Came here after a Cubs game. According to the bartender that was a good move as the place was packed while the game was on but half empty by the time I got there. Great selection of beers including some rare low production treats. I had the Left Hand Brewery Fade to Black which I had heard about but not seen it outside of the Colorado area. It was superb, even better than the more commonly seen Milk Stout which was also on tap. The wings were everything others have described and the Nashville Hot sauce on mine was just right. Friendly staff always checking to see everything is OK and refill your glass. Good value too for somewhere just off Michigan Ave.

Great venue to hold a party

By Taylor B |

Jake Melnick's Corner Tap is a sports bar with a patio that knows how to hold a party. For the second time in the last two months, we decided to hold another reunion of old friends and colleagues at the restaurant/bar at 41 East Superior, at Wabash, only two blocks east of Chicago's Magnificent Mile. Established in 2002, Jake's is open from noon to 9 Sunday through Thursday and noon to 11 on Friday and Saturday. It has built a well deserved reputation for being the "top chicken wings spot in the United States." So the five of us started with Jake's famous chicken wings, jumbo boneless and traditional bone-in served with carrots and celery with ranch and blue cheese dippings. While recalling old times, we also snacked on cheese curds, nachos, chips and dip and Biggie pretzels, a 1 1/2-pound pretzel with Jake's cheese sauce, spicy mustard and pimento cheese. For the main event, we enjoyed a Classic cheeseburger with a nine-ounce all-beef patty, American cheese, shredded lettuce, tomato, onion and pickles; pulled pork sandwich; Nashville hot chicken sandwich; and a couple of Jake's Doubles with a double four-ounce patty, American cheese, pickles, crispy onions and garlic aioli. With French fries, of course. I also couldn't resist an order of loaded chili with beef and three-bean chili topped with cheddar cheese, sour cream and chopped red onions. For dessert, what else? We shared three huge portions of Jake's Classic Dessert, a chocolate chip cookie skillet sundae served warm with vanilla ice cream, chocolate syrup and whipped cream.

Great Bar Food

By tink8009 |

Jake Melnick's was a great stop for bar food while watching a professional football game. The staff were very friendly and attentive.

It’s true, best wings ever!

By MrsZanca |

This place was within walking distance from our hotel so we decided to give it a try based on the reviews and it didn’t disappoint. We tried the firecracker wings and the sauce was amazing! I had a burger and husband had a pulled pork bbq sandwich and both were also really good.

A must if you like wings and baby back ribs!!!

By milyruiz |

The best wings and baby back ribs I've ever tried!!! Super good size and delicious taste. The mac &chesse very good too and the atmosphere very nice. Excellent service, fast and super friendly waiters. I would definitely eat there again to try more things.

Decent

By TheTravelistas |

decent bbq options decent cocktails nice outdoor dining area late dinner option long wait at times so plan ahead

Great tavern

By thomas d |

Lots of beers on tap... good wings and delicious nachos. Definitely tavern fare and tavern feel but managed well and a super spot for a drink and quick meal.

Good service, good food for carryout

By ALLSLC |

Wanted something for carry out because it’s Friday in Chi-town and we were worried there would be crowds. Turns out, we could have been seated just fine but that’s ok. Ordered online and food was ready exactly when they said it would be. Ordered 8 traditional Buffalo wings (excellent and spicy), onion rings (outstanding but with weird sauce) and a garbage salad that was very good with lots of toppings and plenty of dressing. Good service, good food

Great first dinner in Chicago

By DanKimSouthampton |

This was our first stop in Chicago after a long delayed flight and taxi ride from the UK as we were exploring the immediate surroundings of our hotel. A couple of the team greeted us as we entered, and found us a table straight away, the restaurant was already busy at 6pm on a Monday night. Drinks orders of beers, wine and a coffee were promptly taken by our friendly server then swiftly followed by the food order. The Pacifico beer, a Mexican larger, was particularly good. Food time; Two salads, one Cobb and a Caesar were really tasty and huge. “One of the best salads I’ve had” was a comment. The Jake’s double burger tasted amazing with a lovely smoky taste and great salad and pickles. Even the fries were worthy of note. A couple of sides of Chilli were also ordered, these got mixed reviews as very different to a uk chilli, but I enjoyed. Good service, great food, enjoyable atmosphere , a brilliant start to our Chicago stay.

Great Restaurant and Bar

By Mike S |

Great restaurant/ bar. We visited multiple times during a week stay. Food and service were excellent. The location is extremely convenient for multiple hotels along Michigan Avenue. I recommend the hot links and my wife recommends the turkey burger.

Always good!

By Outnumbered Mom |

This is a nice neighborhood spot that's not very touristy. They have a lot of beers on tap, great BBQ and burgers! I had the pulled pork sandwich with parmesan fries and it was all good. My kids ordered chicken fingers and a hot dog off the kids' menu and enjoyed it all. The atmosphere is very relaxed and somewhat noisy which makes for a good restaurant for kids. There are several TVs to watch whatever game may be on at the time. The wait staff is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend visiting!

Tasty Food

By Make Memories |

My husband and I visited here on St . Patty Day's weekend. We got nacho appetizer and split a burger. The burger had a grilled cheese on top and bottom with a patty between the sandwiches and an egg. It was delicious!! We will definitely be back when we are back in the area.

Wish they had more variety.

By Natalie R |

Their wing flavors were limited and just not very good. The fries were cold. Had there been more wing flavors and the fries were correct temperature, I would give a 5. Our waiter was super nice. There was a long wait time. Drink menu was limited.

Great wings

By Erik S |

Apparently some have called the wings the best in Chicago and maybe the US. I would say top 5. Good size wings with good sauce. Nice building with lots of TV's. Average price. Friendly staff.

Best wings and great service.

By Alanstein1973 |

Best wings I’ve ever had. Had the firecracker flavor. The hot sauce is delicious and very hot. Great beer selection and tons of TVs. Great food that exceeds a bar dining experience.

Great corner bar and pub food!

By PawCane |

Local buddy recommended this place so we decided to have a drink after a cubbies win. Manager greeted us and we were quickly seated. Beer was cold and drink service was quick. Next day we opted to watch the Sunday night football game there. Place was packed. Service started a little slow but once Kate got everything started it was a great time. Our wings were absolutely great. Sauced, crispy and we were glad after a full day of day drinking at Parlors. Wife’s patty melt was very cheesy and well prepared. Fried pickles were a great table app and a smash burger was split between the table. Great portions and the manager was able to whip up some firecracker sauce that was about sold out. Great portions, nice staff and patrons as both fan bases were fired up. Great to have manager check on us and I was very pleased with the 2 nights we visited. Solid bar and food.

Big Disappointment

By Helene S |

We have eaten occasionally for last 20 years and never been disappointed. I admit this is the first time I ordered a burger. My husband made a take out order He paid $2 for extra patty. The patties were preformed and I think thin as quick service places. One of my patties actually had holes in it. The patties were larger than the buns. I ordered sweet potato fries and got regular fries. We live about 1 1/2 blocks away and the fries were mushy. Each burger and fries (inc extra for 2nd burger) $18.95 Very disappointing

Hidden Gem for Fantastic BBQ

By Tim M |

Staying at a hotel on Superior street, we would walk by Jakes every day when heading out or back, so we finally stopped in to have dinner. OMG. Jakes bbq brisket and chicken is some of the best we've had!! Chicago is known for great food, and we sampled quite a few while exploring for a week, but finding Jakes was a great bonus! If you love bbq, fun ambience and reasonable prices then put Jack Melnick's Corner Pub on your bucket list. The biggest downside is not being able to sample everything in one seating!

Wings!

By JuliaCvit |

I'll admit that my family loves wings . . . and these were delicious! Several flavors too! Good beer selection and fun night out with a large group, including children (youngest was 12).

Ok lunch

By Geraldo R |

The burger was ok. It was bbq style with fried onions and special cheese spread. Wait staff is attentive.

Ok lunch

By MSue |

Stopped in for lunch while roaming around Chicago. Drinks were delicious, but incredibly small for the price. I ordered the chicken ceaser salad and was disappointed. The chicken had zero seasoning and overall just bland. My husband ordered the brisket lunch plate. He enjoyed his meal. Our meal came out quickly, but the overall service wasn't great. Not sure we'd come back.

So So....

By kristieggen |

Visited for dinner with our chicken wing LOVING teenager. Our only reason for stopping in was the claim of top rating for wings. We have been served better wings in Omaha and enjoyed better wings at a pizza restaurant the following evening. Service was great and burgers were ok, but if you are looking for something more exciting than your typical bar...keep looking.

Unexpected Surprise

By Jpals5 |

Savionne, our server was absolutely fantastic. He was attentive and great and has a fantastic personality. The buffalo chicken salad was absolutely delicious very spicy but very good. I will definitely be making my way back to this establishment in the future.

Dream Holiday

By paulamcenroe |

We came across this place on our last night in Chicago. We were so impressed with our experience here. Food was 100% our waiter (sorry didn't get name, Irish) but he was fab, very attentive esp to our children. He picked dessert for them & they were so impressed. Lovely way to finish a dream Holiday 👌

Great wings and decent brussel sprouts

By Dave H |

Stopped in on Sunday afternoon. Very busy place. Eventually got a bar seat. Tried the poncho wings, with bacon roasted brussel sprouts on the side. Wings were great and sprouts were a nice combination. Will have to go back and try their burgers, as they looked quite nice also. Will try when less busy. Beers are on the pricey side. Taps all taken up by craft beers. Std fodder like bud/coors dont make the cut. There's a reason those sell well. Pretense aside, sometimes I want regular cheap crisp beer on the tap. They have bottles, but that's not the same either. Anyway, I will certainly go back for the food

Best wings in town

By Claudia D |

So I saw this place on the travel channel and had to try it, because of their grilled wings. I love wood fired food and these wings are marinated I believe and dry rubbed and grilled ...they are called poncho wings. I had them put the firecracker sauce on them (sweet chili/sriracha) as well....amazing flavor! Something about grilled wings is just delicious. They had a good selections of beers and the service was great. They had so many good things on their menu I wanted to try all of them. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants!

Go elsewhere

By RitchieCCW |

Reality is if I could give less than one star if I could Let’s start with the food - I had the brisket. The meat itself was fine but there is little or no chance it came anywhere near a bbq. Sadly there was more fat than meat which you would have expected to be rendered down if it had spent any time being barbecued. Annoyingly the fatty meat was hidden at the bottom of the plate so the kitchen was aware of what it was doing. Also have had bbq platters in other restaurants and in this case the offering was mean with a little coleslaw supplied and one other choice. Most establishments offer two choices My wife had the “pulled pork “ sandwich which came as a slice of pork with some sauce over it and again was very fatty. Overall the food was extremely poor. Now let’s cover the service which was abysmal - the servers appeared to be working hard but there was nowhere near enough of them for the number of customers. More a case of leveraging every bit of profit possible. Give the options out there give this a wide berth

Amazing food and the best service!

By Jo H |

Came here for the huge variety on the menu when I was with a fussy group of eaters. The portions are HUGE and really good value for money! The boneless bbq wings I would recommend, you get a huge portion size, enough to take away and munch on later! The staff in here are super friendly and are constantly on the go. Nothing is too much trouble for them and they really deserve a good tip for outstanding service! The place is lively and always has a good atmosphere. It’s always quite busy but I’ve never had a problem with just walking in and getting a table right away! 5 stars from me!

Lunch Fab Food

By Shaznandy |

Stopped for lunch on our second day in city, was very busy so 25 min wait, just had a wander till got text. Boneless chicken wings were so tender and tasty, hubbie had brisket sandwich, so good we went back on last day of trip. Good service and atmosphere.

Comfortable atmosphere

By Cathy J |

They have a nice menu of beers and ciders! There were four in our group. Started with the beer battered onion rings. They were very good. Then 3 different bone-in wings: barbecue, PB & J and the buffalo. All were crispy and tender. The Thai PB and raspberry J was tasty. The 4th had the polish sausage wrapped in bacon sandwich with fries. Very nice polish sausage with some heat. Finished it off by sharing the apple pie skillet. The service was efficient and friendly. A very nice spot!

lunch before a tour

By Alan R |

We went to this restaurant before the Crime Tour we took. It had great atmosphere, and we got a real kick out of the waiter. He was great. We had wings which were excellent, and nachos. The draft was good, and they offer tastes to help make up your mind. We really enjoyed our time here - it was a great experience.

Worthy neighborhood spot!!

By Larry J |

Was in Chicago on business, didn’t want to do a typical tourist type of restaurant so I went here! Loved the beer options!! The wings are a great recommendation. The vibe is a very neighborhood feel. Lots of locals and very welcoming. I recommend this spot for great drinks and eats!!

Game Day Delight

By Shayne U |

Enjoyed a burger we shared along with onion rings and a local brew. Busy so sat at the community table. At first a little annoying with a loud guest who had been pregaming before he came. Fortunately he moved on and we could enjoy our lunch. Melina was our server and was attentive and friendly. Henry did the busing of tables and was always there to fill our water glass. Great Sunday game watch venue.

Glad we stumbled upon this place

By Claire R |

Loved this bar the first time we visited 2 years ago and was so glad we found it again. The steak and eggs were perfect! Our server was fun and super friendly. Apparently the coffee wasn't good? but I didn't try it! Would definitely recommend.

Excellent quality price

By Paolo1005 |

Wanted to see a football game and taste some great football food ..this is the place with an awesome selection of beer. I had a wonderful time. I would reserve because I had to wait 30 minutes to get a table

Friendly place with good wings (and chilli)

By Tracy M |

We called in here early evening. All the staff were really friendly and helpful. We opted for outside table (inside is great, but quite dark). Outside is great, but there is a lot of traffic noise (to be expected as close to some big roads). Service was quick. It’s says best wings in Chicago (or maybe USA) on the signage and my family reported that they were indeed delicious! I had the chilli bowl, which was also great. Would happily visit again!

Cool Spot

By Mike W |

There’s a great selection for everyone. We ordered wings to start and sandwiches for our meals. Cheesesteak was sliced ribeye and was excellent. Grilled chicken sandwich was also a good choice. Didn’t have any of the BBQ selections but the wings were definitely big and meaty. Various sauces and heat choices. Beer selection was also on point. Staff was patient and helpful. Nice relaxed place for a bite to eat or a few drinks

Average service and food

By SarahJayne |

Whilst visiting Chicago we decided to book a table for two for the music bingo. When we arrived we were told we couldn't have booked a table as tables are not booked for two people at 6pm. When we showed the waitress our email she finally gave us a table. Not a great start. Service was a little slow but the food was really good. The garlic parmesan fries were to die for and the chicken wings were fabulous! Didn't see any signs of any music bingo though?? A pleasant visit but the window seats seem to attract attention of the local gangsters picking for a fight ( not the restaurants fault )

AMAZING WINGS!

By Nicole |

A bunch of my friends went for the Bears game. The Poncho wings and Firecracker wings are to die for! I’m on the keto diet so it was amazing to be able to order baked wings. It was a great time! The only negative part of my visit was the rude waitress. I will definitely go back for those wings though!

Good service not such good food

By Melinda S |

The service was excellent. My family said the impossible burger and tots were good. My grilled chicken breast sandwich tasted as though it was from the freezer and microwaved to heat it up and my sweet potato fries seemed like a freezer item as well. The chicken It was extremely dry and tough. I drowned each bite in their ranch (which was good).

Fun lunch with our adult kids!

By Sheri C |

We decided to choose this place for lunch last Saturday afternoon. Very fun atmosphere and excellent food! The pulled pork nachos are out of this world and the brisket sandwich that my husband had was also very good. Our daughter had the chicken wings and waffles which were outstanding and our son & girfriend had the boneless wings & chicken BLT....both loved it! I highly recommend this place.

Great BBQ

By jelltex |

Great BBQ, I had ribs. Great ribs and a few craft beers here for an early dinner. Great service and great food. Hit the spot.

The best beer selection this side of Munich

By CountryVet |

Get there at happy hour; the selection of “happy hour” items (beer, well drinks and food) will rival any other local establishment. Otherwise- get there at games night with your work colleagues, And if with with any other group; the trivia nights will have you thinking and laughing and enjoying life

Great Service

By Bennett Borkowski |

Really great food and great service. Had sports. Great time outside. Great staff, especially Anna. Very COVID conscious as we should be able to expect at this time.

Yummy

By Joshan1299 |

The boneless wings were meaty and moist. They were some of the BEST seasoned wings I’ve eaten. The PB&J wings were really good! Service was spectacular, seated quickly, with a group of 7, served quickly and felt very clean. Drinks were kept full and we were checked on numerous times. I highly suggest this place if you like wings!

“Neighborhood” Bar / Restaurant in River North

By John L |

We lucked out trying this restaurant while visiting a nearby apartment. Cobb salad split between 2 was delicious. Outstanding Sloppy Pig sandwich was more than I could eat. Good beer and cocktail menu. We sat next to a window with snow falling outside on one side and a basketball game on TV on the other. We will definitely be back.

Great food and service

By chloesmum45 |

Food very good, portion sizes too big resulting in wasted food, excellent quality though. Good atmosphere, great friendly service and they sold Pineapple cider that we dont have in the UK. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend or return. Cost for 3 adults around 95 dollars.

Family Night

By Donna D |

This was our first visit.... staff amazingly attentive..... quick service.... food was fantastic! Wings were perfection! Salad portions were HUGE! Chicken fingers were moist and delicious! Now my Bro in law had the chicken and waffles..... he was on cloud 9 and couldn’t stop talking about him!!! It’s a must stop on your food tour! Thank you for a great evening!!!!!!!

So much delicious food!

By 552candacem |

Such a fun atmosphere and amazing food! We had boneless and traditional wings, onion rings, and parmesan garlic fries. My husband is not a fan of garlic, but he could NOT stop eating the fries! They were delicious. Service was great and atmosphere was enjoyable as well.

Average

By NickSFCB |

Sat at the bar on a busy Thursday night as wanted quick meal after a long day. Wings were good staff were friendly, the mac and cheese is advertised 'as better than Kraft'- it isn't and wouldn't recommend the mac and cheese. Go for the wings and you'll be satisfied.

Best chicken wings EVER!

By Ale |

We went to celebrate a friends birthday, and we liked it ‘cause it had very warm/cozy vibe. The food was very very good! We ordered boneless & fries and they were amazing. HUGE and full of Flavor. Loved it. And finally the attention of Alonzo was amazing. He was taking care of everything & he made sure my friend’s birthday was well celebrated. We will come back!

Not the best - food very salty!

By jazzyart |

We came here for a quick bite before we went to watch the fireworks at Navy Pier. We sat on the communal table which was fine but not sure I would do it again. I ordered a margarita which was lovely at first so I ordered another one but when I got to the bottom of the first it was so salty. The food was very salty. The fries were covered in salt. I had the prohibition burger and there wasn't really that much sauce. The portions are massive but the quality not great. The burger was tough. The pulled port was okay and the potato skins nice.

The best wings and service was excellent

By Keith P |

We loved it here. Wings were amazing, we came back for more. Staff were excellent and service quick. Also highly recommend the onion rings and fries (although large portions so don't over order like we did!). Not sure why some people moan about the slow service as had no such experience - would recommend this place to anyone visiting the fabulous city of Chicago !

Great wings, great burgers, great food, staff a bit wanting

By TCPDump |

This is one of those places you hear about then have a night to spend. Arrived early Sunday afternoon around 1:00-1:30 and still waited for a table, not because they were busy, but because apparently the greeter was seating someone in New York at the time. But hey, no big deal, I had time to kill.....which is good because between the time I was seated and the time someone actually said hello I probably could have read the unabridged version of 'War in Peace'. Once the order was taken food arrives fairly quickly and was very good.

Best chicken wings in town!

By Gediminas V |

Very nice place and deliciuos buffalo wings The place has a good location, the staff is very friendly. Overall a gret place to visit

Great atmosphere - family favorite spot in Chicago

By JPBuddy |

The brisket, Firecracker and Poncho Wings are our family favorites! All of these are exceptional. Also a great selection of beer, cider and root beer. We make Jake Melnick's a traditional stop whenever we are visiting our daughter in Chicago. We LOVE THIS PLACE!

Best wings!

By KHOKC |

We just happened to pass by this place and notice the sign that said "color TVs" which we found funny. It looked like it really didn't belong in the middle of Chicago so we were curious and looked it up only to find out it was a top rated restaurant. We decided to give it a shot and are so glad we did. The wings are definitely the best we've ever had. We sat at the bar and the service was excellent, as well. I recommend Poncho's and the Firecracker wings. We tried a couple of others which were great, but those two were definitely the best!

Spicy wings

By jenh |

Late night eats were awesome. Ranch fries with special sauce and sriracha mayo was good (fries over cooked but I like them that way). We tried the poncho wings (grilled) and the Nashville hot wings and both were perfectly spicy. Service was fast and attentive. Only one baby (at 11:30pm) was screaming nearby.

Great food and atmospher

By Gregory McDaniel |

We ate here twice on our last trip.. We had never been before.. Pretty standard as far as the food offered, but the quality and taste are excellent.

Great Food and Sports Bar

By Don T |

We tried this corner sports bar at the recommendation of a friend and were very happy. I had their cheeseburger and my companion had the sliced beef brisket platter. The patty in my cheeseburger was huge and cooked to perfection, and I had asked for cole slaw on the side instead of the ubiquitous French fries, and the large bowl of cole slaw was wonderful. My companion remarked on the tenderness and great taste of the sliced brisket. The serving sizes were very generous, and they have some great beers on tap from around the world to wash them down (we tried a Munich Maerzen -- Oktoberfest-style beer -- from Aying that was wonderful). It is a sports bar, though, and at times gets rather loud if a favorite team in on one of the sets. The food and service is great enough to make this bar a favorite.

Very Good

By Craig R |

Went to a business reception. Cabernet was surprisingly good given that it’s a wings and beer place. Ray at the bar was great and yes, the wings are worth it.

Found exactly what we needed!

By Sutherland Boy |

The wings were finger-licking good (try the PB&J if you're adventurous), and the game-day atmosphere was electric. Service was mostly attentive despite the crowd. Not mind-blowing cuisine, but perfect for casual dining when you're craving comfort food and cold brews near Magnificent Mile.

Burgers and Beers

By talysarose |

Great place to stop in for a quick burger and beer. Friendly staff and great service. Would love more beers on tap, but did find a new favorite.

Quick stop for cold beer

By Rob |

We were checking out the neighborhood on a hot day - this place was very inviting. Popped in for a quick cold one ! Beer selection is very good - lots of craft options. Bar is well stocked (Corsair Quinoa Whiskey ?). Serving staff were knowledgeable about the beverage options. Prices were comparable to other locations nearby. There is a small patio, but we appreciated the cool bar inside instead.

Well, ok but the service was bad

By Ljunggren |

Spend our first evening in Chicago at this place. The food was OK but the service was not great but OK. Went there the last day of our stay (close to the hotel) and after waiting over 15 minutes and no service, drinks, menu etc (and tried to get hold of the waiters) we left. Told the manager but the answer was - oh sorry, where did sit.... So, if you want service and more than OK food - don´t go. Go somewhere else.

Decent Wings, Slow Service

By whisox |

I love chicken wings so I was excited, after reading all the reviews, to try Melnicks. They were OK... good but far from the best I have ever had. The rest of our food was decent, although my son hated the BBQ nachos that came out with soggy chips. Prices are not on the high side given that Melnicks is basically a sports bar. The service was slow.

Great sports bar

By Sara-Jane W |

Stumbled across this bar while out walking, so many TV's to choose from to watch various sports on. Good food menu. Friendly staff

Awesome wings, great hangout

By Kayla M |

My boyfriend and I go to Jake’s just about every weekend and order the wing combo with spicy buffalo and Poncho’s - we love it that much. The wings are big and juicy, not drowning in sauce or dry. All their specialty fries are delicious too. We like the parmeasan garlic the best. The staff are friendly, it’s a great place to watch sports, and the beer selection is great too. Highly recommend Jake’s!

Very slow service

By swedensm |

Just popped in for a quick beer. but I had to wait at least 10 minutes at the bar before anyone even acknowledged me. I was on the verge of walking out. Would not come back because of the service.

OK

By Hola4876 |

We were in Chicago with two teenagers craving chicken wings so we came here. It was o.k., I've had better - and worse - wings. Service was a tad slow; wouldn't recommend for families, definitely a bar (which I would like if I hadn't had a 14 & a 15 year old with me).

Always worth a visit

By Bobbie W |

Whenever we are in Chicago a visit to Jake Melnick's is always a must. The staff in there are so friendly, a special shout out to April and Brian who really looked after us. We stayed in the city for 5 nights and drank in Jake's 3 of those nights, great staff, great atmosphere - would highly recommend it if you are in the city.

Don't go for the 'Que

By steventY2808AM |

Visited Jake Melnick’s with my wife and 10-year-old daughter on a Saturday afternoon around ~2 pm. Perfect time for a late lunch with only a ⅓ of the restaurant full. Great atmosphere and we had a nice window seat on the side of the restaurant adjacent to E. Superior st. We started with appetizers and I was ready to dig into those highly touted wings. I ordered the traditional bone-in wings with medium buffalo sauce and the nachos with cheese and sour cream on the side. The wings were the BOMB. Well sauced, crispy deep-fried exterior, cooked to tender juicy perfection. They didn’t disappoint. The nachos on the other hand...straight from a bag. If you want fresh, deep-fried nachos, go to Chili’s Grill and Bar instead. I was in the mood for some bbq so I ordered the two meat bbq platter with pulled pork shoulder and the Makowski links. It came with fresh-cut fries, Texas toast, and coleslaw. For good measure, I added the cornbread skillet (with honey butter) and homestyle baked mac ‘n cheese. In terms of the bbq, the pulled pork was as dry as the bone it was pulled from. The sausage was tasty, but don’t expect pit master quality ‘que from this joint. By the way, I’m a North Carolina native (20+ years) and have been living in St. Louis, MO for the last 11 years, so I know good smoke when I taste it. The cornbread was very good. The baked mac ‘n cheese was OK, but I have a southern upbringing, and southern mac ‘n cheese has a very different taste (and seasoning) then this mid-western variety. Service was very good, drinks were always topped off by our server and the manager handled my Makowski links with great style and attitude. Oh, I didn’t tell you…? My first order of sausage links were a bit overcooked (aka, deeply charred, aka burnt to a crisp on one side). I would definitely return for the wings but I’ll leave the bbq alone. They have a lot of options for sandwiches, so maybe I’ll try one of those on my next visit.

Wings were delicious!

By Finiti |

We went on a Saturday afternoon and it was a busy place on college football Saturday at a sports bar but staff was attentive and gave great recommendations on drinks and food was great.

Average burger at the bar - ok but not more

By afbcph |

Visited the bar for a beer and a burger. Super busy time I came at because the lone girl behind the bar ran back and forth all the time. Having ordered my burger it came reasonably fast and was ok good but not anything above or beyond. Happy I went but not necessarily rushing back. Got the wrong credit card back - so you can be too busy behind a bar.

A must stop each time I am in Chicago

By txjmorr |

Great food, great drinks, you can not go wrong with them place. Took 18 people and we had a nice big table for dinner. I will be back.

Great food, great place!

By DJH7 |

Just came back from a weeks trip to Chicago, and we went to Jake Melnicks 3 or 4 times!. The food was amazing.....in particular the buffalo wings, burgers and the brisket were all superb. For an experience we also tried the xxx wing which was tasty but (as expected!) soooo hot!. All in all, if you are in Chicago you MUST try this place!

very overrated, nothing special

By Jan H |

the beer we had ordered was put on the table in a simple can from the supermarket, it had just been opened. the "famous buffalo wings" were soggy (not fresh? microwave???) and way too salty and way too spicy! No other taste, just salt…. We simply couldn’t finish it and sent it back to the kitchen/waste bin (definitely no doggy bag this time). I don't understand where the good reviews come from. in Europe these kind of soup kitchens would be closed after a week, yuck!

Pretty good.

By Vesper1 |

Didn’t live up to the hype but was still pretty good. We came here on the 7/4 and the service was pretty slow but probably due to it being the 4th July. Would go back again.

Did I hear Friday Friday Chicken

By wschaplin |

That’s when they have the best special. You can get a whole chicken and service with side for a very good price. If its fried it’s delicious. Not so healthy, then go to True Foods for veggies.

Great wings

By Roger S |

I was in city for patriots bears game . My buddy told me about xxx original challenge . Which is made with hottest chili pepper in world . If I beat it I get a hat & my pic on wall of flame . The place was packed . The waitress tried talking me out of it. When I finally got them. They're huge chicken wings. The flavor & the heat was insane . One hell of a afterburn. I don't use any dipping sauces to cool it down. I was just disappointed . To hear they no longer take your pic . After I beat it in under 5 minutes. Which the waitress said was the fastest . She seen someone compete it .

Love the wings

By mrstephenmills |

Had a great lunch of wings and nachos here. Reasonably priced and very tasty. Worth stopping by. Love the wings

This ia a true sports bar. If you want to talk with someone, ask for a table on the (enclosed) patio.

By Arthur H |

The place was packed for a Bears game. We asked for a table on the enclosed patio and escaped most of the crowd noise (and the packed conditions). Food is good but not great. Chili was hearty, to say the least. Lots of beef and beans. We split a burger because they all are big. There were enough fries with it for a family of four. And half a burger was about right. Service was friendly and prompt, an achievement given the size of the crowd.

AAO meeting

By Patricio Manuel |

Waiting time and difficulty getting a beer while waiting stops me from giving 5 stars. Personnel was good after all and waiting time for food once on the table was good too. Presentation, taste and size were very good.

Great lively bar and restaurant with nice American bar food

By The Exploring Northerner |

Sat just off Michigan Avenue Jake Melnicks looks lively place. With seating inside and outside the place is focussed on bar food, wings, burgers, salads and the like. The staff were helpful and polite and the food was tasty and well priced. A great option for a evening meal if on your own or in a group.

Just okay

By debs |

This place is nothing special to me and I likely wouldn’t go back...for many reasons. First, it’s extremely loud. The TVs are on so loud right above you that the sports announcer is screaming in your ear. There’s just no reason they have to be that loud. I wasn’t even sitting under one and I was annoyed. Second, the tables and chairs are all very close to each other. Not a good comfortable feel. Now the food...nothing special. I had the Parmesan fries, which were good but didn’t come with any sauces or anything to dip them in. A truffle mayonnaise or something like that would have been nice. I also had a side salad which was iceberg lettuce. No healthy greens, but literally the cheapest and most nutrient void lettuce out there. My friend had the mac & cheese which I tried, and it was nothing special. Again...no additional flavoring or anything interesting...just your really basic Mac & cheese. Although the cookie skillet dessert was great and the prices are reasonable. Just nothing great about this place. Too loud for my taste and the food isn’t worth putting up with the noise and the sports announcers shouting at you. Not for me.

Pretty good

By MGaft |

Good service, portions are too big, ordered a rack of ribs for 2 but it came like for 4 :), we could eat only half. Good selection of draft beers.

Outstanding service and amazing food!

By Josias Jean |

I absolutely loved everything about this place! We ordered the whiskey BBQ wings and JC’s secret, and both dishes were absolutely amazing—packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was great, and the food exceeded my expectations. You definitely won’t regret coming here!

Best meals I had in the windy city

By Touringmuso8 |

Literally the chicken wings are beyond belief, I always go for Buffalo, but I was recommended the poncho and the firecracker wings, both of which were out of this world, they even do boneless versions of the wings which are awesome! They also do great barbecue and next time I’m in town I’ve got to try that Detroit style pizza! Fabulous service! Memorable food in a great setting!

A great place to stop in

By procyclist |

Just popped in on a whim while walking through the area. Glad we did. Great selection of beers, good menu, and friendly staff. Been to quite a few spots in the area and this one surpasses most of them.

Wow!

By JPBuddy |

Due to reduced trips to Chicago we hadn’t been here in some time. We decided in our short stay we had to get some takeout, and it was awesome (as usual). Fire cracker and Poncho wings were phenomenal, brisket was as good as it gets, and the shredded pork and sweet potato fires were excellent. Sometimes you may wonder if it is as good as you remember...Wow yes!

Basic supermarket food

By JG |

Basic supermarket food for a high restaurant price. Waiters are nice and friendly but misquoted on food price when asked and never honoured difference (stating the price was maybe last month’s price). Wouldn’t go back.

Wings, burgers beer and atmosphere

By CountryVet |

Big city with Midwest sensibilities, great selection of tap beers and cocktails to die for If you like wings - they have the best Otherwise- burgers are good and salads and chips and … And the bar tenders are simply amazing

Great locals bar with excellent bar food

By Steve R |

Outrageously good wings and a great selection of beers. It's a bustling busy place so service can get a little crazy but stick in there, you'll love the food. Sports on every TV if that's your thing, it's a locals favourite, prices are reasonable too and, oh did I mention that the wings are incredible.

Great for a Burger and Beer - but service is slow

By gad38 |

Took a few buddies of mine for a late lunch on an awesome day in Chicago (mid July 70s and low humidity). Sat outside and enjoyed our meals. They have giant burgers, interesting takes on Mac 'N Cheese and barbecue sandwiches. They are located just West of the Magnificent Mile on Superior - close to the Dreihaus Museum. I'm not sure why, but every time I've been at Jake's, it's had really slow service. We were not there at a peak time and it was not crowded, so I'm confused as to why. Otherwise, it is a great place for a (big) burger and a beer.

Incredibly slow service and wings were average at best.

By BrenJ2012 |

One in our party had been here prior and raved about wings at this place but she no longer feels the same. We waited nearly 20 minutes for our drinks to arrived, ordered food when they arrived thinking "how long can their specialty wings take right?!?!" Well after another 1/2 hour of waiting we asked the server if our order would be out soon (since there was hardly anyone else in the restaurant). She returned 15 minutes later with our food, with half of it being warm at best. Extremely disappointed and will not return. Spend your hard earned money elsewhere.

Really good american style food

By Kasper Christensen |

A great sportsbar with a huge menu. Burgers was great and the hot wings was greasy 😀 Even medium spiced hotwing can makenyou warm, but if you are hardcore you will find XXX on the menu 😀

Nice staff, food is good

By Nkem O |

The wings were very tasty, the ribs and burger were okay. The staff were very nice and accommodating. There was a nice ambience to the restaurant.

Just go there

By KalEl2005 |

Amazing wings, and the chicken was probably one of the best I’ve ever had. Really nice staff, great service. Good selection of beers. Good atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Good Food and a Fun Spot to Dine

By Tuba4You |

Had a quick dinner here while shopping on Michigan Ave. Location is great and our service was spot on. Food was good, but nothing spectacular. They advertise their great ribs, but my wife and daughter found their baby back ribs to be a bit too dry. I had hot links and would certainly order them again. They were quite good.
