Had this place recommended by a local. The food is great. Loved the goat curry. The jerk chicken was good but not best I've ever had. Try this place- you won't be disappointed.

We always stop at Jamaica kitchen when we visit Miami, so much so that some of the staff recognize us (we’re from Toronto). I always order the jerk and curry chicken patties which are so tasty. I love the plantain tart but the last few times we visited, they didn’t have any (husband almost broke into tears lol). Jerk chicken meal is also good and I love their chicken soup on Monday’s. This is a small hole-in-the-wall type of restaurant but these places usually sell some of the best, most authentic food. It’s also a family business. I’ve recommended this restaurant to so many people and they all love it.

What a culinary experience. The salftish fritters were out of this world as was the beef patty. But the top were the goat and oxtail curries, that’s the real food and why I will go back again ann again.

That being said, the food wasn't bad. However there is a place in Orlando that I go where you get much more for your money. I heard of this place from watching an episode of "Diners, Drive-ins and Dives" a couple of years ago. Couldn't wait to try it. I'm wondering if the management has changed since however, because the TV show showed Asian owners. I didn't see this during my visit. We arrived around 4pm on a week day, and the tiny place was mobbed with people getting take out. I ordered oxtail dinner, my daughter jerk chicken dinner, and I also got a side order of calaloo with salt fish, and 2 meat patties. The price came to over $40, and we didn't even get beverages. The person at the cashier did not itemize the food items, so I'm wondering if she made a mistake. You also do not get a vegetable or salad with the meals. I've never ordered Jamaican food before and not receive cabbage or a salad. I also felt the portion of oxtail was skimpy. The place in Orlando loads your plate up with food. As stated earlier, the food tasted OK however there is no need to return.

Quality Jamaican Food!! The best Jamaican food you can get in the Southern United States! And that’s coming from my Jamaican Princess Wife!

If you love Oxtail and Curry, this is the place to go and try their Curried Oxtail. Yes! Curried Oxtail, it'll make your tummy smile 😊

Saw while watching Diners Drive In and Dives and knew we had to try it. It truly is a hidden gem, tiny place with only a couple of tables so take out is suggested. We were greeted right away and placed our order. I had the oxtail with pidgeon peas and rice with extra gravy Sauce was amazing and nott spicy meat was super tender and delicious. Also had one of the beef patty and it too was super special filing was not too spicy as well and crust/patty was very flaky and delicious. My husband had the pork dish with rice and beans and his meat was so tender too and lots of yumo gravy . We really enjoyed our meal. Service was quick. Glad we saw on tv and can;t wait to go back to try so many other delcious on their menu.

Having been to Jamaica and enjoyed many of the different types of food there, this Jamaican Kitchen doesn't even come close to even being called fair. Their jerk chicken is mostly rice and all their dishes are served in s tyro foam containers containing mostly rice with no flavor. There curry goat was another worthless dish containing mostly dried up rice with the bones of a goat that had barely any meat on them. Don't think this cheap food is a bargain because you're paying around $15.99 per plate for this food that is only worthy of being thrown in the garbage. Not the most clean place and the air conditioning never seems to be working properly.

If you think that you've had the best ox tails/pigeon peas & rice cooked jamaican style at another place other than Jamaican House, you're fooling yourself! The food was delicious and finger licking good! My husband had the jerk chicken and he loved it! the resturant is very small, but the flow of customers were constant! The staff was wonderful. By the way, the plantains were also great as a side dish. I will go back every time, I visit the Miami area!

The food is great! The service is wonderful; whether you dine in or take out. The best oxtail in town! The curry oxtail is my favorite and the portions and prices align. I love the food and The Chin Family! Great vibes! Enjoy!

We have eaten OX Tail at many places across the country, definitely the best we have had. The Jerk Pork was also fantastic!

Jamaica Kitchen is phenomenal!!! Authentic Jamaican food!!! The best I have ever had, coming from a Jamaican. The curry oxtail was soo delicious, the first time I've ever had such a combination. The stew peas was amazing. The flavors and spices are just right! Also, their Chinese cuisine looked tasty as another customer confirmed as we dined. My girlfriend and I went back the following day, and had the stew chicken and jerk chicken. AMAZING!! Guy Fieri, The host of Diners Drive-Ins, and Dives also visited this restaurant! Each dish lived up to its authenticity and mirrors perfection!! Can’t wait to visit again!

I really enjoyed these patties. Best I have had outside Jamaica The vegetarian ones are as good as the meat ones. Remember that the ones with a red dot on are HOT

My family has been going to this restaurant for years. I ordered the curry goat with Jamaican lemonade & it was so satisfying! I will definitely continue to come back for more on my Miami trips.

They had the best oxtails I've ever tasted...even better than mine, and that's saying a lot!! I liked the chicken pumpkin soup also.

During a long layover we decided to Uber over and try the food. First warning it's a very small place one table and a couple high tables and bar stool seating on the wall. Now for the food I can't give it 5 stars because it's not the best I have had being married to a Jamaican but it was good. I had the oxtails rice and peas and cabbage the oxytails were tender but lacked the true Jamaican brown gravy taste. The jerk chicken patties we're awesome. My husband had jerk pork and loved it. I would say if you want to eat some Jamaican food this is a good place to try and get it to go if you can.

We ordered a large variety of items for friends after hearing incredible reports from friends. We were blown away at the diversity, and the quality of the menu! This is a pretty small spot, but don't let it deceive you ... that magic that happens in the kitchen is authentic, and delicious ... can't wait to go back!

Come here at least twice a week since it's close to where I live. I always get the oxtail stew with extra gravy on the rice. Curry oxtail and curry goat are also great and the patties are unreal. Highly recommend

We stopped in to make our 96th DDD stop and ordered a couple of the Beef Patties along with some rice and peas. I think I could go through a dozen of these! The flaky crust was killer and the meat filling was spicy but not too spicy! Very tiny place but very big on flavor!

I live in Toronto Canada but Miami feels like my home away from home (I visit 2-3 times per yr). Our first stop is always Jamaica Kitchen, a small hole-in-the-wall eatery in a strip plaza. The owner’s daughter knows us and we always order jerk chicken patties, curry chicken patties, plantain tart and chicken soup which is homemade and delicious! They aren’t the best patties I’ve ever had (I’ve actually been to Jamaica several times) but they are tasty and crusty. Definitely a must if you’re craving Island flavours.

My husband & I drove 2 hours from West Palm Beach to get lunch. It was sooo so worth it! The Curry goat was thee best I have ever had, we also ordered the oxtail & beef patties - so perfectly seasoned, just delicious. The place was clean & very authentic‼️ Friendly courteous staff 🙂 too. Every time I am within driving distance I’m going to stop by! Mmmmmm Mmmmmm 😋😋😋😋😋

Good Food, Nice Sized Portions! Their Curry Oxtail is to Die For! Had to grab a Ginger Beer to wash it down! A great place to eat! GetSome!!

Having always been a fan of Jamaican food, I decided to look up any potential eateries prior to my visit to Miami, this place came up and I decided I will definitely dine here.... I would never have found this place if I didn't look it up as it is hidden away in a shopping area on the outskirts of Miami... This is a nice little primarily take away with a few seats for eat in, ambience inside is good with a few stools ad tables and reggae music playing in the back ground. Well laid out/decorated inside with a good range of food including many non-meat options too. Girl working there was very welcoming and friendly and explained the pricing and portion sizes to us. I decided to order the lunch size portion of goat curry with rice & peas with veg (cabbage). After a reasonable wait of about 20 mins the food was served to me. Very good sized portion of food. The goat curry was spicy and flavoursome and meat was nice and soft, just how I like it. Rice and cabbage perfect also..... Very good portion size and value for money. Was more than enough food for me. My fellow diners were also very happy with their food which included Shrimp Fried rice. Jamaica Kitchen, keep up the good work and keep turning out delicious food, if I am luckily enough to be nearby again, I look forward to visiting, no hesitation!

The customer service was very good and friendly, but their food was average. I would recommend this place due to their very good customer and friendly service.

Husband had jerk chicken with was soooo good and I had OX tail my favorite dish ever! with plantains small hole in the wall restaurant but authentic food for sure

I moved into this area around 4 years ago, and I can honestly say in the past three years I've come here consistently at least once a week. The girls are really nice and the food I'm sure is all amazing but I stick to the oxtail stew. It's the best in town hands down. I've eaten oxtail all my life and have had it all over miami but they got it down, bar none.

The food was so good that I almost ran around the block to get hungry again... We got jerk chicken, ackee and salt fish, beef soup, veggie and calaloo patties, etc. The food was so good that I think that I ate the styrofoam. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!

Great food. A very small place but fantastic food. You can eat inside, outside or pick up your food. We have been ordering from them for years. They are very nice people , very polite and helpful. The place is always full, that tells you something.

My husband and I chose to eat here after hearing about it on a TV show, and it did not disappoint! It was a small place without seating, so we did carry out. The food was hot and delicious still once we got it back to our hotel room! My husband ordered the jerk pork dinner and I ordered the jerk chicken dinner. We also ordered a few patties for us to try as well. Everything was so good. The patties were flaky and the fillings were tasty. The dinner was hot and the jerk wasn't overly spicy, just enough to give it flavor but not burn out my taste buds. We would love to eat here again!

The have it all, jerk chicken or pork, ox tail, potato dumplings, green banana, saltfish, pepperpot, etc, etc,

PROS: The rice and beans were really good. Normally I don't even eat those sides at a restaurant. The space is tiny, but they make it work. I like the look of the place and the reggae music. CONS: I've gone twice and think the food is OK. I've had much better jerk chicken elsewhere. Feel like the meat portion should have been bigger as well.

I love this spot. If you're looking for good, authentic Jamaican food, you have to come by. Their jerk chicken patties and coco bread are OUT OF THIS WORLD. I find them a little pricey but it's definitely worth it. I give them a 5 but they can't top my favorite Jamaican restaurant in Kendall (Island Spice). :)

I have been here on various occasions and the food is still delicious. My rating here as a four is strictly food based. This is a small establishment with a counter and a couple tables outside. This place is mostly to pick up even though have stayed and eaten here. This is not fancy, but the real winner here is the food. Their Jamaican patties are very good, the jerk chicken and oxtail is fabulous. This is off the beaten path but well worth it. Happy Dining

Saw this place on the Food Network and thought I would give it a try while vacationing in Miami. Walked in and saw the counter in the back. The place is like a mini Jamaican market. The food had good flavor. The jerk chicken was really good. Also had the curried shrimp. Very good food.

I just finished picking up 1 curry goat and 1 curry oxtail. I went with the dinner portions. Because the portions are always small. No surprise here. I live in West Kendall. So it not worth the drive. .As for the taste it's ok. I also bought some patties. They are average. South Miami has better patties. .
Bursting with flavor
I got takeout for 8. It was ready in 10 minutes and everything was delicious. One of only a few places in the US that you can get really authentic jerk chicken and pork. I also got curried chicken which was wonderfully seasoned , rice and peas (excellent), perfectly cooked plantains, ackee (Jamaican specialty), green bananas and some Jamaican drinks - fruit punch, soursop and ting (a delicious grapefruit soda). The staff were wonderful and helped me carry everything to my car. My South Florida in laws look forward to their Jamaican meal every time I come south to visit them and Jamaica kitchen always comes through. They also sell 100% blue mountain coffee and lots of other Jamaican mainstays. A gem of a restaurant.
