Worst place in Miami! BE WARE! Thieves and crooks.

By Susanna922 |

Worst place in Miami! BE WARE! Thieves and crooks. It is exactly what you fear when you are a tourist from Europe. When it comes to payment, they take your card and go away with it, then they come back with a receipt and you must sign on and indicate how much you want to leave. And of course the worse thing happens, we were very dissatisfied after waiting 1.5h for our food and decide to give them $ 1 (which they showed a great dissatisfaction for). We were waiting 1,5h for food. Got extra appetizer and beer on the bill we didn't order and had to wait for them to fix the bill. We are quite unhappy with overall experience. When we have come home from the trip we have checked the bank account and it has been shown that the restaurant itself has filled in a 0 on the receipt, and gave itself 10 $ drink x2, when we were in company and paid half / half. So they rob us of $ 20! If you are a tourist, my advice is that you go somewhere else! There are many better places in Miami! Don't go here. The food was not worth a second wait! And if you are not Spanish you will have to wait until all Spanish people have their food in the first run, even if they come to the restaurant half an hour later than you.

Spanish Little Gem

By Anharin |

Just came back from dinner and couldn't wait to review this little gem in the Miami River District. First the service was very good and staff very friendly. We ordered the croquetas de bacalao, the navajas grilled, the pulpo a la gallega ( very tender) and the seafood paella. Everything from appetizers to the dessert ( crema catalana) was amazing. I was pleasantly surprise by this restaurant. At the end of the dinner the chef came outside to ask how was dinner. The waiter gave us an after dinner shot. If you want great Spanish food you must visit this restaurant. I am definitely coming back soon. I want to try the cochinillo. I honestly thibk is one of the best Spanish restaurants in Miami.

EXCELLENT TAPAS & SPANISH CUISINE

By Vero Lemos |

the menu is to die for - as its called the rechupete - very good, cozy atmosphere, ensure to make reservations well ahead recommended the sangria, tinto de verano, jamon iberico and the pork improvement needed on the parking

Delicioso

By richard b |

Delicious beyond belief. Very authentic tiny restaurant. Paella is out of this world!!! Order as you want food or you’ll be served too quickly. It’s the food I was craving since boarding the plane

Best Roast Pork

By Robert K |

We read all the reviews and had to go - we were not disappointed Service was super and friendly like in someone's home in Spain. The portions are large so it was a toss up between the top two recommended dishes paella or the roast pork - we went with the pork - it was moist and tender with crispy crackling - you can't find this anywhere that I'm aware if in the USA - nice bottle of the house red preceded by calamari and topped by complimentary shot shot of grappa - a must go and won't break the bank A

Cozy, Warm, and Inviting Atmosphere

By Ben C |

This was our second visit enjoying the varied menu selections and Spanish wine at this intimate, small restaurant. We continue to marvel at the variety and quality of food...cured ham and sausages, croquettes, fried chickpeas, garlic shrimp, etc.) On this visit we met chef Filipe. We will return.

Dreaming of Spain

By TheOldGringo |

I'm in my hotel thinking about going back to last nights restaurant Via Emilia for pasta see (review) and decided to look closer to my hotel downtown Miami found a Spanish place with tapas and good ham so off I go. Sat at bar greeted warmly by wait staff, ordered the premium Jamo Iberico 5 J to start its amazing so sweet and delicate really remarkable. Next the roated pig, wow all I can say is I was chewing the bones it was so good and tender skin perfectly crispy you eat it all and worry later about the fat. The chef owner Filipe Perez came out a few times and checked on me and was very nice and made my dinner even more enjoyable thanks you Chef and staff😀😀😀

Excellent dinner and service

By Therese |

We have traveled around the globe and find Jamón ibérico pata negra to be a superb example of fine food and dinning experience. Paella is fantastic. The sangrias are original from Spain. The value for the experience is hard to beat. We can’t wait to return

Tapas tasted like in Spain

By joseLuis_a_d |

Spanish food at best....Beer from Spain ...I tried Mahon to start. - Ordered Jamon de Jabugo with Manchego Cheese which had a very good flavor - I continued with Gaspacho Andaluz (Cold Soup from Andalucia)........ Then my main plate was Carabineros Grilled with garlic ( Jumbo shrimps from Cantabric sea ) ....next tapa was Callos a la Madrilenia were also very good and the Chistorra tapa excellent. Then the Octopus grilled was awesome......However the best I found in the Restaurant was the Bread basket....it is a bread brought from Spain land. They ahve a Market beside the Rest wher I bought some Iberico Jam de Jabugo, CHorizo and of course a Bread to bake at home.

Service was slow and poor

By Mary |

Service was slow and poor . The cochinillo was good the sea bass was the worst Ive ever had . This is the second time . Will not come back . We ordered a $48 bottle of wine and waiter said we had ordered a $90 bottle . Recheck your prices when ordering wine .

Great Flamenco Show

By michgirlie |

We spent a memorable evening here with family and friends. The service was the best we found in Miami. However what really made the night was the Flamenco Show. WOW. What an amazing performance! Dinner was delicious. Good wine selection. For sure one of my favorite restaurants in Miami and by far the best Flamenco Show I have seen. Thank you for a wonderful night.

Never been to Spain, but I imagine it is like this restaurant.

By James G |

It was a festive and inviting experience. The chef/owner routinely comes out to converse with the patrons. He likes to perform a happy birthday celebration to anyone that is lucky enough to have a birthday on that day. It really felt like family. Which is a stark contrast to many of the design focused restaurants in Miami. That being said, the design was great inside. The food was quite good too. I don't really recall any negative aspects from my visit. This place felt like a hidden gem since it 5 minutes away from Brickell and Downtown.

Awesome typical Spanish cuisine

By RafaGG |

We had Jamon Serrano, Pulpo (octopus) and Sepia, typical Spanish plates, and they were delicious. A little bit expensive but really worth it. Excellent way to reduce homesickness from Spain!

Piece of Spain in Miami

By Manuel C |

You go in and you feel in Spain... They cut the ham by hand with knife as it as to be. Excellent ham quality. Actually everything is great... Really excellent I recommend it. Dont miss it

Great Spanish Restaurant

By LaFemmeTinita |

This restaurant had great quality Spanish food, nice ambiance, and friendly service. Would def return when in Miami :)

Thank you chef and owner felipe for such wanderful dinning

Most amazing real authentic spanish-mediterreanean cuisine. From the 5j pata negra to the garlic shrimp and the bacalao croquettes. The staff super friendly. Thank tou for such an amazing time

España right here in Miami!

By Pineapples-a-Plenty |

Finally made our way to Jamon Iberico. Quite an experience. The menu was well received, and there cuisine very nice. The "ham & cheese" appetizer was terrific, the temernillo wine was surprisingly good (the house wine), and the setting inviting. It's not easy to find this location, but GPS worked well. They are not in the traditional downtown core. Lots of positives, and one luke-warm piece to our lunch was the service. Just so-so, and this is what stopped the review short of a 5-star review. Worth a go ... we will be back!

Hard to find, well worth the effort

By Guillermo Rocha |

This is a Spanish restaurant located at street level in a condominium building next to the Miami River. It has a menu with a selection of tapas and an ample choice of other dishes. We (a party of three) ordered several tapas and a Paella Valenciana; the food was delicious, and the service efficient. Prices were reasonable. We enjoyed being welcomed by the Chef Owner Felipe Perez. The atmosphere of the restaurant is warm and inviting, and it makes you feel you are in Spain. This was our first visit, and we plan to return soon.

Very good paella!

By Carlos M |

Great new Spanish restaurant in a very non descriptive area. You can't tell from the outside but it is very cozy and welcoming once inside. The service is outstanding and the chef who is also the owner a funny and friendly guy. We had Serrano Han and manchego cheese spread and octopus on garlic sauce for tapas. Very succulent! Then had one of the best paella I have had in Miami. Two orders for four people. It was more than enough and had my lunch for the following day. The prices are reasonable. I recommend this place.

Excellent! Excellent!

By jbllaw1064 |

Love this place for the location, the excellent service & the authentic Spanish cuisine. A perfect date night. Best Paella in Miami.

They deserved 5 Dots but dropped the ball

By Paul L |

So on another of my business trips, we decided to try Jamon. Not too far from the Grove in the ground floor of a high-rise. When we saw the menu and got the explanation from the first waiter about the 5J tapas, we decided 'we're in" even at the $55 price. Well, when we got to order, the head waiter tells us, sorry, we don't have 5J ham tonight. What? You have one on display in the window. So we ordered some other tapas. Roast pork that was delicious. The octopuss, was outstanding, probably the most tender and fresh I've had. The Sorano ham and Monchego and the hot sausage. Both excellent. We later decided on an amazing Creme Brulee and found out from our first waiter that the 5J certified chef was not working that night so that is why they would not serve it. I guess I respect their committment to the craft. I will return.

Awesome food!

By Royinet |

For a long time we have been looking for a good Spanish food restaurant. We have tried many (some very expensive) of them, but couldn't find one that I would say it was worth to come back again. Finally, today for mother's day we discover Jamón Ibérico Pata Negra. We took a chance as none of us had been there before, but what a nice surprise! We had two Paellas. One seafood and one Valenciana, they were exceptionally delicious. Desert was also great. The setting is nice though a little tight at times, however it is worth it as. You feel like you are eating among old friends and family. The service was very good and friendly our party of 7 was always taken care with a smile in the face. Overall, it was a five star experience and we will definitely continue visiting them more often. For us it is 25 miles one way drive, but well worth it as i have not been able to find the same quality of authentic Spanish food near by. Great experience!

Great place to eat, great atmosphere.

By Lewis S |

I had lunch and wished I couldve came back for dinner but time constraints. From the atmosphere to the service and the suckling pig, this was without a doubt the best meal I have had in years out and about. Exceptional service and authenticity were of the utmost quality. The real highlight was when Chef Felipe came out to greet me. We talked for some time since it was between meals and I was the only one in there. What can I say? He made me feel like an old friend and we were catching up. I cant wait til I get back to Miami and enjoy Chef Felipes cuisine and company. I highly recommend eating here.

Nice, but...

Good food, but it's a pity that the restaurant advertises the corrida, knowing how barbarian this spanish

Sunday afternoon

By nibaldom2015 |

I have never dined here but had heard rumblings of this restaurant. We were in the mood for a new Spanish restaurant and decided to try it. I will start that it is a little tricky getting here as it’s on the bottom floor of a residential building. There is no parking you need to valet but it was only five dollars. Once we entered the restaurant there really wasn’t a host but someone did come to us and sat us down. We ordered the traditional jamón serrano, croquetas and garbanzo frito( fried chick peas). We also ordered the pulpo(squid) and that was excellent. We also had the seafood paella and that was right on point. The memorabilia inside the restaurant was also nice and gave you a feel of being in Spain. As for the ambiance, it was just a restaurant but overall ok. The food was pretty good and I am sure if coming in a group can be more fun. Happy Dining.

Great food amazing service

By Ana A |

This is my favorite Spanish restaurant in Miami. When you walk in, you get the feeling you are in Spain. The staff works hard to make you feel right at home. Try Huevos Rotos, Cochinillo and other delicious items in the menu. Felipe the Chef owner will come to your table to make sure you enjoy the food and have fun. Reasonable priced

Excellent First time Impression

By Jose J |

We were looking for a Tapas restaurant in the Miami area and found this one not far from the JW Marriott Downtown. We had a wide spread sampling of the various tapas and all were excellent. The Jamon Iberico and mancheco cheese were great as well as the octopus. We tried just about every tapa and all were excellent. I felt as I was in Spain. Very authentic place. If you love Jamon Iberico you can also get it sent to you. Will definitely return.

The closest it is to being in Madrid..

By CJFRAGAPR |

We visited Pata Negra following an advise from a foodie friend. We were skeptical as we were in Madrid last December and visited several of Madrid best recommended restaurants. But Miami, it surprises you over and over again. Close to Brickell and the Miami river area it was a little difficult to find as it is in a residential area. But we were glad to found it. Spanish tavern decor, its not a luxury restaurant but it's very cozy, and as any good restaurant in Europe , it encourages conversation. Many excellent entries, all well presented and delicious including the cod and ham croquettes, the grill octopus and the chorizos in wine. We were in the Paella mood and ordered 2: The Valenciana and a chicken only. Both well prepared and delicious. Not extensive, but inclusive wine list, sensible priced. An overall great experience . The chef is always visiting the tables and checking everithing is ok. Spain in Miami, for sure. Dont miss it.

tasty,very fresh authentic food

By Josie053 |

this restaurant offers very tasty, fresh and authentic Spanish Cuisine. Choose from hot or cold tapas which are generous in size and can be enjoyed as appetizers or a full meal. Their Paella and Chicken and Rice are large enough for 2 or 3 people to share when complemented with tapas or pre entrée salads. The Vegetable cream soup is heavenly and the crusty bread to enjoy with very rustic Spanish olive oil is superb. while there try a Spanish beer either bottle or tap or one of their great wine selections from various regions of Spain. we were to full to enjoy dessert but the selection was extensive. This place is worth a second and third visit for sure.

10/10

This is an amazing place. A couple of local friends brought me here and it's genuine Spanish food. The seafood paella was great. It's hard to find but worth the trip.

I had a good experience with my family and friends, I am planning to go with friends tomorrow night. Food is great and they have excellent customer service,

So cute

By Narek D |

Nicely decorated Spanish restaurant in a somewhat random area, the kind you would only visit for this restaurant. They have a large selection of tapas and delicious paellas.

What a great experience

By BahamaMama123 |

We had several tapas, paella and crema catalan. The food was delicious like always and one cannot complain about the price. It is different from the usual Miami fare and definitely worth the drive. The service was outstanding and our server recommended a great bottle of wine. Everything felt authentic and we had a wonderful evening. They did not play music like all the restaurants do to the point that any conversation is just drowned out by the noise. Nobody in the restaurant cared about that, which shows that you don't need techno beats to be hip. All the patrons had a good time and were (gasp) talking to each other, having fun, while enjoying delicious food. What a wonderful experience. I can only recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back.

Best Spanish Garlic Shrimp

By Carlos A |

When you get to the restaurant you are welcomed by Chef/Owner Felipe Perez with a smile on his face...I had Serrano Ham with Queso Manchego for appetizer and then Garlic Shrimp with special condiments and white rice and Spanish potatoes. All the entrees were tasty and fresh and the service superb. I had CREMA CATALANA for dessert and cafe at the end. Great meal and ambiance. I thought I was in Spain!

Brilliant paella

By christhesinger |

Wry good Paella - so good to find some proper food cooked well. Very good portion should satisfy and appetite and a good house red wine. Thanks for a lovely meal.

Amazing experience, one of the best!

By peterfromfargo |

My wife and I came here for a meal and absolutely loved it. First off the Jamón Serrano was incredible and the manchego cheese was some of the best I've ever had. My wife and I love sangria and the sangria tinto here was excellent. It had the right mix of flavors and accompanied our meal well. For our main course we ordered the paella de mariscos. I've had paella in several different countries and this was, hands down, the best paella I've ever eaten! The rice was cooked and seasoned well. The seafood was fresh and (most importantly) cooked to the point of full flavor. It was not dry or overcooked. For dessert we had flan and espresso. Highly recommend a postre to finish out your meal. Fair warning. We were there for a few hours and I was the way only gringo in the place. The menu is in English but a working knowledge of Spanish helps. Bottom line is you won't find many places with a better combination of food, service, and atmosphere. I highly recommend trying it but make a reservation before arrival.

An Exquisite and Authentic Spanish Restaurant

By greggm |

Among the best authentic Spanish restaurants in South Florida. We went last night with a party of 7, and everyone had a great experience. We started off by sharing several appetizers like gazpacho, gambas and champiñones al ajillo, calamari frito, jamón serrano con queso manchego, and oysters with a special topping. We then followed up with a combination of solomillo, paella valenciana, and suckling pig. Every dish was superb. We drank some delicious Alhambra beer, Rivera del Duero and Albariño wine. We wrapped this exquisite meal with a delectable Turrón dessert. Claudio was our server, and he did a great job steering us with outstanding food and wine recommendations. We all had a wonderful experience and promised Chef Felipe that we would be back in a few weeks.

Taste of Spain

By Romayne S |

I went to this restaurant with a group of seven for a work day lunch. The atmosphere is very welcoming and warm. The restaurant has tables at the very front entrance and also further in back. We sat near the main entrance across from the bar area. There are legs of ham hanging on display along with a wide variety of wine. Our group ate from a smaller menu provided for lunch that had a nice variety at a very reasonable price. The menu included appetizer, entree and dessert. First the hot bread arrived at the table. It was quickly drowned in delicious olive oil and devoured. Then while we waited for our orders the server brought out a plate of cheese and shaved ham. All delicious! I ordered the neopolitan lasagna while my lunch mates ordered the monkfish and the roast suckling pig. Everybody was happy with their meals, although my lasagna tasted as if it had been over cooked a bit. The pasta was super soft but ok. As we ate Chef Felipe came out to greet us and thank us for joining them. It was a nice sentiment. My favorite part of the meal was the strawberries and cream for dessert. The cream had strawberries mixed into it and was so light & creamy. Absolutely delightful. I tasted the chocolate cake as well which was really fluffy and light. The perfect way to end the meal of course was with a cappuccino. By this time everybody was stuffed. Overall it was a great experience. I was told that the bill was just under $200 for the seven of us with gratuity included.....we didn't have drinks. I'd definitely return.

Best Paella!

By Letty0 |

Anxious to try out this restaurant in search of terrific authentic Spanish cuisine in Miami. The restaurant is located next to the lobby of a condo on SW River Drive. Casual and comfortable interiors. We ordered the Pata Negra platter, Bacalao croquetas, Pulpo Gallego, and Paella Valenciana. The Pata negra was expensive - $50, and not as delicious as served in Spain. The croquetas were good- 6 with a romescu sauce. Pulpo was just ok. The paella was fabulous!!!!! Packed full of chicken and mariscos. Best seasoning!!! The owner/chef stopped by the tables checking on all the customers!👌 Would definitely return for Paella.

Paella night

By QCao009 |

This is the place in Miami for paella, a city well known for its Spanish cuisine. If you decide to go instead for something downsized, try the shrimp in garlic sauce. You will not be disappointed. Save room for coconut flan.

a major disappointment

By Robert C |

This restaurant was billed a the real thing when it came to authentic Spanish cuisine in the Miami area. The food is mediocre, the service surly, the owner (a very pleasant man) comes to the table and will talk to you about his life history for a long time, even as you try to eat. I think it is a diversionary tactic to distract from the mediocre food and service. On top of that, it is way over-priced: almost $100 for "recommended" lamb chops with hardly any meat on them and a paella with minimal ingredients. Do not be fooled by the very attractive photos that promote Pata Negra. No wonder it was almost empty on a Friday evening at 7 PM, prime dinner time. People are catching on despite the balihoo of authentic cuisine. The location is difficult to find (in the lobby of some office building, I think) and parking if almost exclusively valet. There are many much better choices in the Miami area for truly good Spanish cuisine.

Great food and service!

By Aleja5 |

Kind of hidden, the area doesn't seem that great. Its located in a nice building across the Miami River. The restaurant is small but well decorated. We had the Octopus Tapas and Arroz a la Valenciana. The food was very good and also the service.

A Must Try!

By Pamela O |

This was our first time at the restaurant and it was outstanding! There were four of us and we started out with Patatoes Spicy, calamari and croquettes all were delicious. Then we shared the paella and 1/4 pig, both the were outstanding. The pig is not to be missed!! It was crispy on the outside and the meat so tender on the inside. We also shared a pitcher of red sangria that went perfectly with the meal. The chef/owner came to the table a few times to be sure we were enjoying our meal and the restaurant has great ambiance. Next time I am in Miami I will definitely be back! Thanks for a great experience chef!

I Love this Place..!!

By ALEJANDRO M |

Excellent Spanish food ....!!! The " Cochinillo " ...is a Masterpiece...!!! Is my favorite..!! The Chef Felipe Perez will make you feel like family ...!!! The service is great ..! I recommend this place as the best Spanish restaurant in Miami...!!!

Fantastic!

By Cecik |

We have just relocated to Miami and after two weeks decided to go go out as a family for dinner. What a great find was this restaurant. The food is FANTASTIC and the service superb. We have eaten lots of Spanish food, mostly in Spain, and this has been outstanding. So glad we found this place. Highly recommend it!!!!

¡Delicioso! Cool atmosphere, and the food is authentic!

By KenandMaxine B |

We hosted three culinary students, and they gave this place 6 thumbs up. Try the Tempranillo wine with their steaming, hot bread. Our table of five enjoyed the Iberico ham, calamari, Manchego cheese, ham croquettes, cod croquettes, seafood paella, New York strip, Chilean bass, and a 1/4 suckling pig. We ended with a double espresso, and the chocolate cake, which is a cross between chocolate mousse and chocolate cheesecake—perfection! A must-do if you love Spain and tapas!

Pata Negra Iberian Ham

By Jamalabe |

Delicious Spanish food, good hams. The paella with meats and seafood that are overcooked and chopped too small. The Santiago cake is very good.

Real Spanish food

By Angel R |

You get a lot of "Spanish" restaurants with flavor and ingredients you know are not Spanish...not this one! These guys are the real deal! Old style regular Spanish cuisine, no gimmicks, no hydrogen, just chorizo, merluza, garbanzos y vino! Then the chef comes out and does his rounds and looks over the dining room and you know these guys know what they're doing. A bit on the pricey side but not an exaggeration but the portions are a good size and the flavors and Spanish ambiance are plentiful!

The octopus in the large dish on the counter looked like it was just out of the ocean.

By frankgDelrayBeach |

A gormand friend of mine insisted I and a third friend try this restaurant with him. we all love experiencing good restaurants and lenjoy many cuisines. He had eatten at Pata Negra often and knew I'd be surprised at the quality and tastes. He was correct. Having eatten in Spain many years, at the end of this meal, my tongue told me that this restaurant delivers what an honest , excellent Spanish restaurant should. Yes, the quality of the fish and meat are excellent but the exquisite tastes created by the chef owner make you want more of each dish. We tried several tapas dishes; the octopus in a slight garlic sauce tasted like it just left the ocean. It was tender with a delicate crunch. Shrimp in red sauce were a meal in them selves - large and tasty. And the intense flavor of the Iberian ham - made from the black footed pigs that feed on acorns in Spain was a totally new taste for me. I love Italian proscutto - but this pata negra has it's own unique taste, it's a richer, more intense flavor than other cured hams. A good bottle of wine rounded out the meal and the owner was happy to converse with my Spanish speaking friends while switching to English for me - the Gringo. The restaurant requires some Miami area knowledge to get to it but once you do, you'll well remember the way back. Free valet parking was appreciated. Price was roughly 78 dollars each including tip and well worth a great dining experience. I want to return for the paella.

Nice restaurant

By Alina S |

I go often is a nice place, I like go for dinner there is a very good atmosphere, excelent service and dishes.

Absolutely GO!

By Maggie M |

Wow the tapas here were delicious. The food is very reasonable and the staff is amazing at suggestions. You MUST get the garlic shrimp and almond dessert. The wine is priced very well, we actually got 2 bottles for what we thought 1 would cost. It's a little off the main path but so worth the Uber.

Authentic Spanish Paella

By tchou789 |

We went on a weekend for my father's birthday dinner. This restaurant is located in a very strange location and very small, but when you enter you feel like you're in a different city. All the dishes we ordered were amazing. The octopus, cuttlefish and jamon iberico were all tasty. The main dish was the seafood paella, which was so good. We have been searching for a paella this good in the States ever since we came back from Spain. We even mentioned to the servers that it was our dad's birthday. They came to celebrate by having the whole restaurant shake these homemade shakers and they even gave us an amazing complementary dessert. We will definitely go back to eat here when we visit Miami.

Spanish food like it always should be!

By LAschermann |

It was a Tuesday business diner and the place was kind of empty but it was and advantage because we got the full attention from the staff and the chef! Amazing food! We were a party of 3 and each one was going to order a plate but we decided to explore the "tapas" (appetizers) first! We ended up having all the "tapas". Everything was delicious and the size of the portions were perfect! Recommended!! And the wines ....

Bad food , service , and atmosphere .

By adamaponte09 |

Went to meet a friend for lunch on a sunday afternoon for a 1:00 pm lunch. When i got there the place was empty which was a huge red flag. The waiter gave me the choice of 2 tables and none of the 4 tops were available ( they had to save them just in case ). I sat for 1 hour as my friend was running late. The menu indicated 2 wines available by the glass but the waiter told me only 1 was available and tasted like the bottle was open for days. The chef came out eventually to greet the one other table that came in. As the chef was headed back to the kitchen i asked him for a recommendation and of course he said everything was good. I ask him which of the seafood was local fresh , and not frozen he said nothing was frozen and everything is fresh maid daily. The paella was very dry and seafood way over cooked. The dish did not at all even look appealing. I don't understand why this place has good reviews. Its empty , the food was bad and service worse. If you want good spanish food DO NOT COME HERE! The pata Nedra appetizer portion was $ 50 and they were basically carving scraps of a bone that should have been retired a while ago. For this kind of money you should get good mid section slices from the ham , and not this pathetic display of what should be considered little more than a dog bone.

Very good...

By guillepinar72 |

Invited my father to lunch and walked over to this restaurant. They had a 13 dollars menu with appetizers, entree and dessert to choose..had lobster bisque, milanese steak and torreja and we loved it....

The cook (not chef) should go back to Spain.......

By Jean Cazalet |

Well it takes time to write review. But I had to do this one. The place is hard to find, but you can stay away from it. On a slow evening we had it all. Poor service, average appetizers, and to top it all, and 35oz piece of beef OVERCOOKED!!!! Oh I forgot, they run out of the wine we picked. So the waiter, after being instructed to bring a similar wine, brought another wine but double the price. At 10 pm, which is dinner time in Spain, all employees wanted to leave, and made sure we knew about it. Conclusion. I believe everybody, cook first, should go back to spain to get the basics back. For now, you can stay away from that place, there are tons of better/cheaper alternatives.

Wonderful experience!

By Arnaud21 |

I had heard good things about this place but never expected to be that good. The tapas selection and full menu are quite varied and a favorite for every palate. The service was excellent and very friendly. It's a pleasure to visit a restaurant and be received with a smile, and more so when the chef (owner?) comes to your table to have some interaction with the guests without being or feeling intrusive. Wonderful! The place is small and I would recommend to make reservations. Also, it is quite of tricky to find the place but get your directions through WAZE or whatever your preferred GPS application. It has free valet parking. Visit this place for a wonderful culinary experience.

The best Spanish restaurant in Miami

By Carlos A |

I have been going to JAMON IBERICO PATA NEGRA for several years now and each time I discover a new gourmet delight with CHEF FELIPE, the chef owner that always welcomes you with a smile in his face and makes you feel at home as you enter. This is a hidden gem out of the hidden path right on the Miami River. I ate a QUESO MANCHEGO-GOAT CHEESE with SERRANO HAM to start and then with SEA BASS on a garlic, white wine, and herbs sauce paired with white rice and it was delicious. I thought I was in Spain with the Spanish decoration and great food and service.

Amazing

Que Viva España

One of the best spots west of the Iberian Penninsula to enjoy delicious, authentic Spanish cuisine. Known for their tapas and paellas, their welcoming warm and eclectic, art-filled ambience makes it the perfect place for both a romantic dinner and a family outing alike. Their list of Spanish wines is simple and affordable. But you shouldn't miss their famous sangria.

Jamon

Jamon Iberico is my favorite and this place does it right. I can go on about the quality of the Jamon. Just go, you will not be disapointed.

Best Spanish cuisine in South Florida

By leoed |

We were so fortunate to find this restaurant at the advise of my wife. We celebrated my Mom's 78th birthday and everything went better than we expected. As we arrived, they cheerfully greeted us and sat us in a great table. We ordered patatas bravas, shrimp, paella, grouper and the $50 portion of cochinillo. There were 4 of us and we had food for 8 to 10 of us. We have travelled extensively throughout Spain and I must say the cuisine was very authentic and extremely well prepared. But, most important was the way that Chef Felipe and his crew treated us. The service iwas magnificent and the price of the meals were very fair. We travelled from Boca Raton and we will return many times for sure. Thank you Chef Felipe for making such a memorable experience for my Mom and all of us. Leo A, Boca Raton, Fl

Totally authentic!

By torm23 |

Small place, but they do accept reservations we had some tapas (garlic shrimp, garlic mushrooms and anchovies in vinegar) and split a seafood paella. That was plenty of food for the two of us. Also split a flan for dessert. Everything was really tasty and though I'm not an expert, I have traveled in Spain a little and it all seemed very real-deal. Service was friendly and prices reasonable.

Spain in Miami

No doubt the best Spanish Restaurant In Miami. The Huevos Rotos with Jamón Serrano Were the best presented and the best tasting ever, the Dorado my wife had was Second to none, and the prices of food as well as wine was very reasonable. The service and attention were par excellence, we are definitely returning soon.

Amazing enviroment and great food!

By Cecilia F |

We found this place by casualty since we wanted to eat Spanish food on my husbands birthday. It was a great surprise not only because the food was great but also environment is amazing. Felipe itself came with the crew and sang to us, made the dinner so much more different. The food is really good as well. If you are looking for a different dinner, with a real Spanish flavor in the Miami area, this is the place to go!

A taste of Spain in Miami

By Maristar77 |

This cozy and colorful restaurant is located in NeoLoft building near downtown Miami. Perfect place to have dinner before a concert at the AAA or a business lunch away from the crowds with easy parking. The staff is professional, efficient and friendly. The food is classicly Spanish and a great value. Also, be sure to check out the Spanish delicatessen next door for treats from Spain to take away or to have a light snack!

Good quality for money!

By Andre V |

I went to the restaurant since it was listed top 10 in tripadvisor's restaurants in Miami. And Although we had a good experience and my rating is also top, being among the top 10 IS probably a bit overrated. Among the spanish alternatives in Miami I Still prefer Delicias de Espania. Nevertheless, I will eventually go back.

A true Spanish experience!

By 719jeaninem |

You know you're in the right place when everyone around you is speaking Spanish! We were looking for tapas and decided to give this place a try. So glad we did, but wished our stomachs would have held out so we could taste more items on the menu.

This place is overrated

By HL |

I decided to try Pata Negra as everybody in Miami says that is the best Spanish cuisine in town... This place is overrated. You are paying a highly marked-up price for a simple tapa. They have prices of fine dining when they are really a simple tavern. The best was the waitress: a smiling Dominican young woman. She recommended the Tarta de Santiago dessert and that was the best of what we asked for. The sauce of the Garbanzos Fritos overpower the main flavor, in my opinion, this is a below-average dish. When we arrived there was a guy at the entrance of the restaurant, I imagined that it was the maitr'd, that he really acted like a security guard. It was a weird vibe... We had 3 small tapas and a glass of wine the bill was over $90.

AMAZING RESTAURANT A MUST GO!!!!!

By lisi2008 |

This Restaurant is Spectacular!!!! the food the amazing, the service Excellent!!! Is the real Spanish food!! Best Spanish Restaurant in Miami. The chef is amazing and he comes out to talk to you!!! It was an extraordinary experience! Definitely will go back next week :)

Perfect traditional Spanish meal

By Alberto T |

I spent a fair amount of time in Spain in my youth and I absolutely love Spanish cuisine. So, I decided to visit Pata Negra while I was in Miami for vacation. As other reviewers have mentioned, it is a bit difficult to find because of the construction currently going on in the area, but our taxi driver eventually found it. There are a few road signs posted along the way that say "Pata Negra" to help people find the restaurant. There are a lot of "creative" tapas restaurants around the USA now, which are fine for what they are, but the menu at Pata Negra is traditional Spanish food like what you would find on a menu in Spain, which is exactly what I wanted. My partner and I shared several dishes, such as gazpacho, razor clams (one of my favorites), chistorras al vino tinto, patatas bravas and pulpo. We also had the black rice paella with calamares, served with a bit of aiola to blend into it, which was delicious. The portion sizes are very generous, so by the time were finished, we were very full.. good thing I had not eaten very much for lunch that day). I wholeheartedly recommend Pata Negra.

Dont take the Paella !!!

By Sweet0000000007 |

I was disapointed, maybe mmy expectations were too high. The food was tasteless. The paella was dry and fish over cooked. The service was very good. I'm not going back...soryy

Amazing Spanish Restaurant

By Sylvia F |

A hidden treasure close to the Miami River. The jamon iberico is the best in North America. The ambiance and service is excellent. A must see.

Fantastic

By JackofPBFL |

We had dinner here tonight. Both of us ordered paella, which was excellent. The atmosphere was wonderful. The service was good and our server ran out of the restaurant with the to go box my wife accidently left. The reviewers who didn't like this restaurant must have eaten somewhere else. Our meal there was amazing. The portions were huge. Two people could share one paella very comfortably. i had shrimp and scallop paella and it was loaded with seafood, unlike many places that throw in a piece or two. It was a bit pricey, but well worth it.

I had high expectations

By Cosita65 |

Crocetas were cold inside. Table cloth had stains. Creme Brule (desert) is full of cornstarch. Price is high. Lobster soup was (instead) salty soup. The only thing I liked was the river in front to the 'restaurant". Never again!

Wow!!!!

By Danielle F |

I’m ashamed that they have been here 8 years and we are just finding this place. The atmosphere is lovely - we could have been in Spain. The chef came out to say hello which is so rare. The pulpo a la gallega is comfort food for me and it tastes just like i had in Spain down to the same clay plate. The Jamon iberico is sublime and worth the price. Razor clams were a bit sandy but tasty - they are so hard to find so we enjoyed them. Seafood paella absolutely delicious. The dessert (flan) sadly did not compare to the rest of the dinner experience - please don’t put those rainbow sprinkles on it! Still worthy of 5 stars for the excellence in service, atmosphere and wonderful meal!!!!

Excellent lunch menu at Pata Negra

By Cipsontheroad |

Personally run by chef/owner Felipe this dining experience will not only comprehend fresh and authentic spanish cuisine but will also bestow a jovial ad festive ambience. Fabulous lunch menu with appetizer, entree and dessert for 13,50. Everything abundant and insanely delicious.

OVerall horrible service and food

By Luis Carlos |

The waiters and waitresses are very rude and take too long to ask If I needed anything. The food had a terrible taste and quality looked bad. Over all I am unimpressed with this restaurant. I will never return and I regret coming to this place.

True Spanish cuisine

By Cassara |

We had the lunch special that included four choices; suckling pig, rabbit and duck w/ rice, stuffed goat and fried fish. We were a large group so I was able to taste everything. It was superb. The rice had just the right amount of azafran and the duck and rabbit was cooked to perfection. The suckling pig was crispy on the outside and succulent on the inside. When in Miami don't miss this little restaurant!!

Execellent food and service

By 249bernardoc |

We came for an early dinner on a Saturday with my family to celebrate my dad’s birthday. The sangria was deliciuous and so the appetizers. We wanted to eat Cayos but they were not in the menu. However, our waiter informed the chef Felipe who actually fulfilled our desire and prepared the cayos just for us. That is something you would not get done in most restaurants in Miami. Felipe and his staff were very attentive and ensured we had a great time. Hence, I will strongly recommend this little Spanish restaurant to my family and friends.

wonderful food

By Judith R |

The food is exceptional, prices are good and the owner talks to all the patrons. What a fun evening. Highly recommend ... try the broken eggs and rice with cuttlefish.

Hidden gem!

By lreynolds000 |

Staff was amazing. Very personal attention. Food was authentic. Chef helpful in assisting my mom to pick something. She has tremendous food allergies. The Serrano ham and manchego was delicious. BEST garlic mushrooms I have ever had. And the veggie paella had tons of variety. We had to bring half of it home.

I eat at this restaurant regularly, and it never disappoints. Chef Felipe always comes and greets his customers in a very warm friendly way. The restaurant is beautiful with nice Spanish decor. The food is delicious, I always order tapas like garlic mushrooms, 5j jamon, garlic shrimp, etc. Can't wait to go back

Neighborhood Gem

By HF1clTS |

We were hosting a large group from the Caribbean Basin and Central America and wanted to provide our guests with a unique dining experience; something more than the commercial glam of Downtown Miami. After a good deal of time spent scouring our options, Jamon Iberico Pata Negra seemed as though it was going to hit the mark. Tucked away on River Drive and housed in a residential and commercial building, Jamon Iberico could not have seemed any less likely, yet proven to have been a greater success. The service was incredibly flexible and accommodated a change in our party size from 10 to 16 at the very last minute. The team-style service met our needs and offered excellent recommendations from the highly-traditional Spanish menu. We opted for a family-style approach and grazed the salted pepper, anchovy in oil, and grilled cuttlefish appetizers prior to indulging in the 30-oz cut of prime beef, the seafood paella, and a portion of the chorizo/meat paella. We wrapped up with the Flan and Crema Catalana. The food was prepared to perfection. Jamon Iberico Pata Negra is ideally suited for large groups of foodies, a romantic dinner for two, or a delicious and inexpensive meal with the family. Our thanks to the wonderful staff and delightful chef as well. We enjoyed an evening to remember and are certain to return whenever the opportunity presents itself.

Great food, fun atmosphere

By HappyTravelerfromBos |

Fun place to eat authentic Spanish tapas. The food was very much like we ate in Spain many years ago. Everything tasted fresh and made to order without a lengthy wait. Service was friendly and efficient. The owner/chef even came out to see if we enjoyed our meal. The decor is bright and sunny too. We topped off a great meal with a well priced bottle of Spanish wine. An extra surprise for a Monday night was a group of Spanish singers who came in and serranaded us with several songs. The owner even joined in the singing. This place is great!

The Real Deal

By Esther I |

Started with the bread, authentic Spanish bread, delicious with a great tasting Bottle of Spanish olive oil. The ham croquetas were amazing, home made, We had the 3,course daily special for $13.50 which was very good. Service was very good, loved the place and will go back for dinner.

SO happy my wife took me here!

By cshs40 |

Having returned from a honeymoon from Barcelona in November I was craving the food but had no idea where to go for some authentic food from Spain. Well case solved, this place is so delicious it tastes as if I were in Spain, the only big difference is the price as you will pay for that import price but its worth the treat. Service was nice and the location as fine. Parking wasent to bad, I parked on the roadside parking but not sure where to park if that was not around. All in all I hope to come here again, I live in Broward but it was worth the trip! Thanks Wifey!

Spanish Chef

By Alfredo J Diez |

The recipes of Spain travel well with this magnificent Chef...Gazpacho,delicious rice,Suckling Pig...and direct from Spain Jamón Ibérico. The restaurant is small and has the “feel” of Madrid. The waiters are friendly & professional...the owner Chef is usually present-a cheerful character...!

By Ricardo I |

Best authentic Spanish food in Miami. Can't get enough of their cochinillo (roasted suckling pig), and not to mention their great wine selection. After living in Spain for 3 years...it was hard to find a good Spanish Restaurant...this is, without a doubt, the best Miami has to offer. It the total package...ambiance, great food and service.

Simply a great Spanish restaurant in Miami

By Jose T |

Felipe Perez, the restaurant owner, is out to make his place a unique one. The food he prepares and announces weekly, is "de rechupete", as he voices it, meaning "good to the last bite." He has a splendid all inclusive lunch menu during the week that includes an appetizer, a main dish and a dessert at a very reasonable price. He creates dishes that are difficult to find in local Spanish restaurants, and has the willingness, during the course of the meal, to stop by and ask the customers how they like his preparation. If you are interested in creative cuisine of Spanish dishes, this is the place to visit.

Matadors

By Ellen L |

This was recommended by a good friend who lives in Miami. A good Spanish restaurant with an old world feel. The menu is fairly simple but each dish executed well. Definitely try the Jamon Iberico but prepare to pay $55! We had garlic shrimp which was ok, personally I think for the price of it $12 they should be bigger. Spanish tortilla is decent. Best was the white anchovies. The ambiance is probably the best part of the dining experience.

A REAL Slice Of Spain

By Wendy C |

Great tapas and wonderful service! It’s a bit hard to find under the bridge (GPS turned me around in circles) but worth the turnarounds. The fried check peas with tiny chunks of sausage are amazing! Wasn’t as wild about the croquettes. Fabulous latte!

Our Favorite Spanish Restaurant in Miami!

By Sunbutterfly |

One of our Favs in Miami, the chef-Owner always checks in on all his guests. From the Garlic Shrimp to the Paella or the fresh fish dishes every order is perfectly made. Their crusty artisan bread is one of the best we've had. Cant wait to return.

A hidden gem

By Soundmiami |

Wonderful delicious ambience. Went to a small birthday party to an unassuming location. The cover does not belie the book. What a gem of a place. Made to feel like home from the get go and my Spanish sucks . Thanks again Felipe.

Exquisito!

By GabsM |

The place has a wonderful ambient. Food is amazing. We ordered rice with pork and chicken and is simply delicious, tapas (chistorra and garbanzos) and solomillo. They served warm bread yum!! Prices are a bit high but once you try the food just forget about that it's worth it. Definitely will go back!

Wonderful authentic Andalusian food in perfect ambience

By alan_wilson49 |

Being a hot day I went for Gazpacho — which can be a bit bland, but had a great bite from the right kind of onion! Sucking Pig was superb. Staff with slightly limited English that only added to the charm — really nice people, and Felipe (owner) came over and introduced himself. All in all a great lunch, great value as well, and warmly recommended

Terrific Food And Wonderful Staff

By tojopop |

Dinner for four. Paella of course! We started with the pepper appetizer which we ordered a 2nd plate of - they were that damn good. Cod croquettes- hot and delicious. Creamy and crunchy too. Then the seafood paella came and we all dug in. The seafood was fresh and the rice fragrant. Shrimps were sweet and the clams and mussels plentiful. We tried to gobble it all up- but we had gorged on those appetizers. We bravely powered through and left only a smidgen of rice. The staff is attentive and the atmosphere a bit kooky with the matador art everywhere. We did not avail ourselves of the pork. The chef came out to check on us and thank us for choosing his establishment. It's a bit off the beaten path- do not let that stop you! There is valet parking - so stroll on in for a major meal.

Unique Experience

By dazzlingglitz |

We flew into Miami and had a day layover. We decided to explore and found this restaurant on tripadvisor. We decided to try it. We had such a fun experience. The waiter spoke very little English. We really had NO IDEA what we were ordering. The menu has no explanations of what's what. So we dove in and had the serrano ham which was simply a plate of ham shaved very thin and served chilled. It was delicious. I had no idea what I was missing...my grocery store needs to stock this! They also serve a complimentary basket of bread and oil. We also shared a combination Paella. It took awhile to cook (we thought they had forgotten our food, except they kept coming back to make sure we were okay). The Paella (rice) came in a cast iron skillet piping hot. It was DIVINE. Truly amazing. The flavors were wonderful. It had fish, shrimp and chicken. I would definitely order it again. It was HUGE. Definitely something to share. At the end of our adventure the chef came out and greeted us. What a fun experience. Don't let the exterior or weird location fool you!

Better than average

By Adien209 |

3.5 rating in my view. Good authentic Spanish but average steak. Come here for the tapas and unique dishes for a pleasurable experience. Lunch specials are more affordable and worth the visit.

The Food is Worth the Price

By Lolafromflorida |

My family and I have been visiting this restaurant for years and we always leave extremely satisfied with the food. Felipe is so friendly and always finds time to welcome his customers; his staff is very professional. We are not Spanish but we know about Spanish food, and Felipe's food is delicious. We love the cochinillo; it is succulent! We have tried most of the appetizers (mushrooms, shrimp, garbanzos, cheeses and hams, croquetas de bacalao, calamari,,,) and they are 'riquisimos'. The food is worth the price. The place is cozy, not for large groups.. Families are welcome but not a place to have little kids running around. There aren't any Spanish restaurants like Jamon Iberico where I live, but we don't mind driving more than an hour to come here.

Mixed feelings

By Poshrican |

Overall very good. Excellent wine and pata negra jamon but the worst gazpacho I have had in an Spanish restaurant. We just moved here from Europe and learned to make gazpacho from a Sevillian. The waiter told us he was from Spain, but couldn't possibly be Andalusian. Gazpacho had onions mixed in, very watery, was not prepared with bread to soak the olive oil and was sour - we did not finish it and complained. Considering we spent 200 dollars for two they should have taken the gazpacho off our bill...

Superb Spanish restaurant

Under a condominium and next to the Miami River there is a small restaurant that brings Spain to Miami, Paella Rustica, vegetarian, tapas, gambas, jamon pata negra with manchego cheese, good wine list, and personal service, no food is precooked you order it and it is done and served right out of the kitchen, owner and chef welcomes you to the place and thank you for your business. very cozy and private, noise very low, excellent for family or lovers. Go early they close at 9.00PM, PS this is my second and not my last visit!!

Excelente!

The food here is amazing. I went to the opening and I tasted tortillas, Jamón iberico, and others appetizers. The omelette o tortilla is exquisito, on point, wonderful. The prices are over average but it worthy !

Outstanding food and service

By DariustheKing |

I took two friends who had never had tapas or Spanish wine to this restaurant. As a European, I have had and love both. The tapas were excellent, both in choices available, taste, and presentation. We had the moncherro cheese and ham, squid, sausage. We also had two different palae; a mixed and seafood. Both were excellent. I cannot recommend this restaurant highly enough. It is superb.

Retirement party

By Maria Q |

There were about 25 of us celebrating a friends retirement. Felipe the Chef is a wonderful host. We were in a room in the back of the place. Very welcoming Spanish decor. We sang and had great food. I recommend the Paella Valenciana. I'll be there again!

Be adventurous!

By Douglas W |

I can't order everything, so I'll just have to go back 20 or 30 more times! Wait staff is great, owner stops by table to talk and make sure everything is "bien". Who does that? Hard to find, but once found, you know you'll be back.

Amazing food and great atmosphere!!

By jackee25 |

From the fried calamari, the he ham and cheese and the incredible seafood paella, it was all delectable. Don't forget desserts, you won't regret eating here. Top it all with superb customer service and this pace is a favorite. Love it!!

the food is excellent, the owner is more than attentive and he makes sure everything is Ok at your table. The quality of the food is better than in most restaurants in Madrid, I can guarantee that. If you are looking for a fine/real/gourmet Spanish Restaurant, this is it.

good place to go and have a great time too :)

By Odile H |

Well, was our first time there , husband , son and me mom :) We enjoy the meal, the 3 of us try something different so we can share a bit and feel which was our favorite, of course some agree, but I did like it all of them. We did lunch special, good choice, good price, so not complaint in our part. Dessert was great too. The service was really good, and Felipe was wonderful coming to see if everything was done well and that we feel at home, our answer was YES ! I will recommend this place all the time. We are planing coming back :)

Random lunch...

By Cagneydog |

This isn't far from the bustle of Mary Brickell, but a world away from the loud, noisy backdrop of the area. Located down a quiet street and beneath a condo block this real Spanish restaurant can be found. Valet parking is always a bonus, especially when the Miami Dade parking officer is lurking about. Great white pitcher of Sangria. Full of fruit and refreshing flavour so unavailable at MB Village. We shared the Iberico ham and Manchego cheese along with the freshest baked bread ever.....also the calamari, which was tender and floured in a really light dusting. We shared a Valencian Paella which was filled with fresh seafood, local fish, chicken and pork. A little overlooked but nonetheless, the taste and flavour very good. Too full for desert, but who knows....next time may be. Great selection of other cured meats and excellent wine list to choose from. Service was faultless and welcoming. Going back in a few days. Happy diners. 😀

Wow, yum!! Delicious!

By Johanna K |

Omg you *have* to try the octopus tapas! We loved sooo many things about this place but that was the most amazing! The decor was festive and delightful, the paella delicious, sangria quite satisfying, and service gracious. Hospitality was wonderful. Met the chef at our table, too! Lovely place we'll be back!

Wonderful experience!

By vicasi1411 |

My family and I went for my father's birthday a total of 8. The appetizer's were amazing we had the 5j pata negra it was heaven, we also got the ham and cod croquetas those were to die for ! Dinner we got the whole piglet OMG! Last time we ordered this was a year ago in Barcelona, Spain and we finally found a place that makes it here. It was amazing we ALL loved it. Sangria was yummy and for dessert we got the crema catalana which was also delicious. Service was great, waiters were at our beck and call.

A taste of Spain in Miami

By caringinthemoment |

What a wonderful surprise to find this little place in our temporary neighborhood! Although Miami is known worldwide for it's Cuban and Mexican food, we opted to return to Spanish cuisine for our first night here. We were not disappointed! Unlike most American tapas restaurants, this food is authentic. We enjoyed the garlic gambas --shrimp-- and the suckling pig (here shown is 1/4 pig serving for $35). Wine was wonderful and service was excellent. Loved it! Highly recommended.

The best Spanish in Miami

By msague |

I've been to many tapas places in Miami and I think this is one of the best. We had ham croquettes, garbanzos fritos, chistorras, huevos estrellados, and stuffed mushrooms. Everything was delicious and the portions were perfect. The sangria was excellent, not too sweet. Service was friendly. It's in the Neo Lofts Bldg and directions are easy to find on Google Maps.

Great Authentic Spanish Food

By Joel B |

Good luck finding the place, but Felipe the chef does it right. Sea Salt and Pepper on the other side of the river is not as good. to start the Jamon Pata Negra tapas is as good as it gets. Shrimp and Garlic sauce, fried garbanzos beans and Roast Suckling pig was awesome. One of our diners had the langostinos and is still sucking the heads. Try the place, you will love. it.

A place to go with friends and family

By Albert J F |

Sunday afternoon lunch with old pals. The Real Madrid game on the TV, excellent Spanish reds, pulpo a la gallega, píquillos rellenos de bacalao, garlic shrimp, bellota ham, an enormous beef rib, paella de mariscos and a taste of the glorious cochinillo. If I were a Spaniard this would be very close to how I imagine heaven. As I am not, we just were very happy, got slightly drunk and walked home with very manageable bill. Superb place - very recommendable.

Food Love

By FoodieGirl50 |

Once in a great while you find the perfect combination of food love; great food, kindness, excellent service and a commitment to giving customers an amazing experience. Jamon Iberico is all of these things. Kindness from the owner as well as his staff was the best. The food, completely enjoyable. Several dishes ordered.... The stand outs- garlic shrimp, mainly as a sauce for the delicious bread. The broken egg dishes were outstanding! The black foot jamon and manchego cheese... to die for. Can't wait to go back. Enjoyed this day, food love is the best!

Fun and delicious

This is an authentic Spanish restaurant. The cochinillo and the lentil soup are a must at this restaurant. The place is decorated with taste and it's very clean. The owner who is the chef is a great host. He makes you feel welcome. The service is great.

A Spanish Restaurant very typical of many Spanish towns. The owner/Chef Felipe Perez will usually come out and ask you about your meal. Don't be afraid to ask for recommendations.

Expedite basic Spanish food and tapas

By Josue B |

We came here on a Sunday for lunch, and were surprised the place was half empty. We ordered fried calamari and Galician style octopus tapas. Both were OK, in small portions for the price. Then we ordered 2 paellas: a rustic Valencian (so-so) and a seafood (good). Paella portions were generous, and OK for 2 people. Compared to the rest of the menu, it is an economic choice. Service is Spanish style: efficient, friendly and pragmatic. Not sure we will return.

I had dinner here with my local colleague last month while in Miami to work. I'm a big fan of Spain in all senses, and this restaurant really delivers the authentic experience. The chef is from Madrid, and his menu (and wine list) are all fairly focused on Castillian styles. The ambiance reminded me of Madrid, the food reminded me of Madrid, and the wine list is all about north-central Spain.

Service could be better!

By Toni S |

We arrived at 5:00 on a Monday. We were the only customers. Our waiter took our order. We ordered 2 tapas. The wine came and shortly after 1 of the tapas. There were 2 waiters and the waiter that was not mine asked if I needed more wine and I said yes. Almost 20 minutes passed and finally our waiter gave us our Paella and our tapas! I asked about the wine and he said it was coming soon! At a table bear us were 2 of the employees. 1 was teaching the other English. I have to say that the service was awful and I won't go back.no food is that good or worth being treated this way! We also had asked for them to pack the rest of our 1st tapas. In the end we had to ask for it and it took another 15 mins. To get! We were still his only table. Turns out they had to cook us some more. It was hot. No clue what happened there. I feel that there must be much better places to eat.

Outstanding

Best ever Paella de Mariscos!

By TrotaMonde |

Had a tapas plate of Queso Manchego and Jamón Iberico followed by a Paella with moist and flavorful rice and fresh seafood. Freshly baked bread, a good selection of wines and the best Crema Catalana for dessert! All with prompt and friendly service and complimentary valet parking. Location may be a bit hard to find, but not so if you follow the Google Map directions. Thoroughly recommend it as one of the best Spanish restaurants in Miami,

Charming Tasca Restaurant with authentic Spanish cuisine

Great small and pleasant Spanish restaurant that will turn into one of my favorites in town, little bit hidden in the downtown area, but great service and great food. Valet parking. Very Good selection of wines and spirits.

A bit tacky but good food

By Jose KN |

We went for dinner with friends. Due to road works in the area, it's quite difficult to get there. The decor is a bit tacky (for my taste) but the food and service were great. We had croquetas, paella, Gambas, octopus, all well done and very tasty. It's a great option for Spanish food, if you don't mind the location.

Iberica ham heaven!

By Julie T |

This restaurant located on the first floor of a condo building is a little hard to find but it's worth the discovery. They serve 5J Jamon Iberico which melts in your mouth and is buttery and nutty flavored. The service is excellent. Waiters were very attentive. We ordered a pitcher of sangria which was a little light on the wine but we enjoyed it anyway. Several selections of paella are also available. We tried the one that was infused with squid ink making the rice all black and it was heavenly.

We had the great pleasure to visit this Spanish restaurant, decorated with vibrant color and Spanish art. We went during lunch hours and ordered chistorras and octopus for appetizers, both excellently cooked. Then, they have a lunch special , which is very special!. It’s a three course meal, also includes desserts. Amazingly, the menu includes el cochinillo for a few more dollars. Chef Felipe, very welcoming to all restaurant guests, making sure everyone was happy to be there. We we’re served by Alba who took good care of our table. We don’t live close to the restaurant, but we have been there several times.

Sunday Tapas

Our first time here but had heard rumblings of this place. This place is tucked away on the first floor of a residential building, but it’s worth seek out. The pulpo(Squid) was cooked to perfection. The Seafood Paella was full of seafood and the rice was on point. We also had jamón serrano and manchego cheese. The restaurant decor is definitely unique but very nice ambiance. Happy Dining

Fun and good food

This was a fun place to visit. The owner/chef is very friendly and always available. They celebrated a few birthdates and he was out there cheering and playing maracas. Super fun. The food was great and the service was really really good too! This is a casual setting. We were a party of 8, 2 families with teenagers. We would definitively be back.

Very unpleasent experience

By Jean martin |

Totally disappointed !! Not only food was not worth the high price but worst was the service! Our server lied and tried to oush the high price items on the menu. We were also lie accepting a reservatupion for outside seating when we arrived door was locked, and no outside seating was available. The service is horrible!

Only visited the once, but had a very tasty meal. The service was efficient and kind, and made us feel very welcomed. the chef had a lot of charisma, he came out of the kitchen and we could see him talking to other tables and laughing. He also made a very nice meal

Like going to Spain!

By toronegro63 |

the reviews in TA are right on. Fantastic hidden restaurant with varied tapas menu, many main courses and paella. Good portions for the money and the owner, chef are so friendly and attentive. If you are Miami, you definitely have eat here and avoid the tourist traps on South Beach, Ocean Dr., Lincoln Mall, and Espanola Way. We particularly loved the anchovies and potato tapas. But all were good. Can't go wrong.

Lunch buffet

The restaurant is hidden; the access is not easy and requires special willingness to go there. The area surroundings could be unsafe, very lonely with occasional beggars and druggies. The good part is there is valet parking; please do not venture parking yourself in the street, especially at night. The restaurant is located in the ground floor of a luxurious building. Once you come in, the restaurant is awesome; you feel transported to a Spain, the ambience is extraordinary, the service is superb, the waiters are happy and cordial. The food is great, superlatively great. The owner personally greets the clients. We were very happy and recommend the restaurant, you will be amazed. Good job. The regular menu seems overpriced and do not offer opportunities of selecting a combo plate; hence you are forced to attend in a group to share the plates and the expenses.

Superb Spanish tapas

By GinaBRU |

Best tapas we have ever had. For our table of 4, we started off with tapas, excellent garlic shrimp, Serrano ham, anchovies, chorizo, fried rice. And their bread, served warm with a crispy crust was perfect for dipping into the sauces to savor the taste from every dish. The best part was the roast suckling pig, cooked to perfection, the meat just fell off the bone. We saved room for dessert and enjoyed their crime brûlée and panda cotta. The ambiance is perfect, a small restaurant with feel of being in Spain. Good selection of cocktails and wine. And the wait staff was attentive, and helpful with advice on selecting the various tapas. Perfect evening.

Highly recommended authentic Spanish Tapas

This place is authentic. I’m had the seafood paella, sea bass croquettes, garlic shrimp, some Iberian ham with cheese. The food was incredible.we had a reservation but the table wasn’t ready so the staff sat us down temporarily outside but made sure we had some wine and papas while we wait. They comped that . Lovely staff, incredible food.

visited late (after the dinner rush) and was greeted warmly. Lots of choices on the menu, but I opted for the roasted pig, individual portion. It came out great, moist, tender with crispy skin. Sorry I didn't have room for dessert. Next time I will hit the Tapas menu. Well worth the trip to experience some great Spanish food.

This is so far the best Spanish restaurant in Miami. I am a loyal customer of this restaurant and the service and the food are excellent. I have to say that Oscar is one of the best waitress that works at Pata Negra, his service is outstanding. Great Food, Great Ambiance!

By Alfred R |

This little gem is really hidden in Miami just before you cross into downtown Miami on SW 1st.The Spanish food is fantastic, the servers are incredibly nice and totally focused on treating the customer right! It is located on the ground floor of a hotel and the parking is free. Like in any restaurant, the alcohol really ups the price of the dinner.
