needed a dinner place the night before my flight, Jasper's was close and it was simple and solid food. i had a burger and a beer, both were well done. they brought water to the table as well, right away, and the waitress was close and quick. no, it isn't cheap, but i have found that most things in san francisco are not cheap, so i was not surprised about the cost. i would recommend jasper's for a solid meal. :)

Staff totally the best! Friendly, food great, & goodprices. They also have happy hour between 3/6. Will definitely be back . Jose & Marino fab guys. Thx you *****

We ate at Jasper's three times while we were there. The service was good, staff was friendly, and the food was decent. The only drawback was the price.

Draft beer system was broken Horrible music Bland and overcooked fried chicken entree. Avoid at all costs.

The breakfast was ok but felt a bit underwhelmed for the price of the dishes. Every breakfast appeared to come with potato wedges, and my husband asked to swap his poached eggs for bacon and that is not allowed. The staff where friendly and attentive.

My husband and I stopped here on two separate occasions and the food was greet. We stayed in the Serrano hotel and it was very convenient and pretty quick. It is a little pricey but for breakfast, and a late dessert and drinks it was amazing. I would suggest it to anyone looking for a great meal.

Happy Hour is a must - we had wings, a giant pretzel and Parm Fries for $8 each. Great food. Could probably use 1 more staff member to cover tables better, as only 1 person was working. Did Happy Hour Appies Twice.

During my stay at Hotel Spero I have several nightcaps at Jasper's Corner Tap. The service was friendly and fast. The food was also very good. The place is clean and the drinks are very good.

At a time when many places were very full this was a useful find. Food was tasty and a very good selection of beers. The menu was not over the top and had a decent selection. Breakfast menu looked very good.

Unforgettable breakfast : the best pancakes I've ever eaten ! Clean, nice restaurant, friendly staff.

We went here for breakfast twice - first time the service was slow but second time it was great, both times the food was excellent. Usual fare for diner food, but all well-cooked, tasty and well-presented.

We waited a long time before anyone even acknowledged that we were waiting to be seated and the slow service continued throughout the meal The food was greasy and and cold, I had to ask for silverware several times and was just forgotten about Many tables were needing to be cleared Not a good experience at all

Great ambiance here - it had a warm feel to it and was very nicely decorated. My friend and I came here during happy hour and they had some great drink and food specials. The staff at the bar were amazing - excellent service. I ordered a Caesar salad off the regular menu and it was delicious and reasonably priced. I also loved the presentation of the dish - it wasn't your typical salad thrown together on a plate. All the other food that came out to other tables looked great as well. I'd recommend it!

Great bar and grill option. Clean place and friendly staff. TV’s for watching sports. High top seating. No outdoor seating. Drinks and food are really good and reasonably priced for San Francisco. Located across from the Hilton Union Square. Definitely worth a try.

Positive: clean, good menu with healthy options, friendly staff, close to our hotel Negative: Rather pricey compared to the ingredients and servingsizes, coffee could have been fresher and better Nice atmosphere but I dislike loud rock music and 4 TVs on with different channels when I eat but I guess thats US culture...

We ate here twice. Breakfast was better than dinner. At breakfast the food was fresh and service was good. Dinner was a bit f a disappointment. The salad was a bit wilted and when they served the pasta that had a lot of juice we requested bread to go with it. We had totally finished the meal before the bread showed up.

2 families, 3 days in SF and we ended up having 2 of our brekfasts here. American brekfast as expected. TV on the wall so we could see the World Cup soccer matches early morning as well;-) Our daughter is allergic to gluten, so eggs, bacon and potatoes is just perfect.

Terrible experience at this restaurant, food served cold and presented re-heated after roughly 20 mins. Awful experience and would not recommend.

Jaspers needs to up their game, every day there was a queue of customers waiting to be seated, but unsure how to go about it, this seems to be their biggest problem. Once seated the food and drink come swiftly and the food is of a reasonable standard. There is a lingering smell around the entrance from the lobby, that they need to take care of. Ww visited twice, because the attached hotel give guests a $5 voucher for each night you pass on having your room made.

Stayed at the Serrano so tried Jaspers on our first night. Really tasty food - we had the fish and chips, wings and poutine. All good and service was quick and friendly. good beer selection and cocktail menu too although not that cheap.

Located in the street level of Serrano hotel, half of the property has traditional table/booth seating, with the other half like a pub/sports bar. Food was very good on both visits with either the burger or chicken sandwich. Flavourful local themes on pub standards made for a good meal! Good beer selection (hefeweisen on tap!). Servers were prompt and courteous, I would go back!

Thanks a lot to all the jaspers staff for makin us feel like home. we Stayed at hotel spero, and we had dinner, happy hour and breakfast there. of course its a typical american kitchen, so far from italian way of eat, but we really appreciated and enjoyed jaspers.

After a long flight from the east coast, we were starving and thirsty and stopped a Japers as it was right across from our hotel. I was happy to see that they had a great selection of craft beers on tap. I ordered the Michelada that was on special, and it was perfect after a long day of travel. The menu had something for everyone in the family. The waiter recommended the cheese curds and they were fantastic. The fried chicken and burgers were also a big hit.

We went for dinner as we were staying 2 blocks away. The layout is quite weird - we asked for a table and were seated in a section that had a booth on one side and little short stools on the other. Sports TVs were present, although they would have been difficult to see from our seats. I selected a local brew from their list - they didn't have it. Didn't have my second choice, either. The third choice (recommended by the waiter) was not to my liking, but he didn't come back to check on it. The service was lackluster, although our food was really quite good (I had a pasta dish with fresh clams, my spouse had a salad). Jasper's needs to decide what it wants to be, and then focus on how to make that happen consistently. They weren't a good bar and the dining experience could have been improved as well.

We had dinner at Jasper's after an all-day stroll through San Francisco, which proved to be the perfect ending to a long day. Menu ranging from American classics to less traditional courses, making this very nice restaurant suitable for both fine dining lovers and tourists in search of the national taste. Special mention to waitress Michelle, whose kindness and professionality should set the example for all people doing her job.

No mojito, no strawberry syrup, he doesn't call it a bar, it's just a cheap treat. Absolutely avoid

Ate mediocre food. I don't think that I plan on returning there because there are many better choices in the surrounding area.

If you are looking for a soup and sandwich with flair, stop into Jaspers. Crab bisque... mmm, it was rich and delicious. Full of crab too. The turkey sandwich was on olive bread. Over the top perfection. I’m a sucker for a turkey sandwich and this one didn’t disappoint. They also have a couple fabulous wines on happy hour, 6 dollars. 👍

The morning staff were very nice and the service was great for our party of 6. Avocado Toast and Smoked Salmon were delicious

We encountered huge lines everywhere on Sunday morning and then we spied Jasper's. Because the front is a bar, it may appear that meals are not being served but they are! Breakfast was beautiful and delicious - eggs florentine to perfection. Nice, friendly staff and coffee a delight!

A group of 4 friends were heading out for dinner before attending Mama Mia. From the moment we arrived, we noticed a welcoming atmosphere. We had great food along with great drinks from the bar. All of the staff were very attentive and we will come again. Thank you Mariano and all of the staff at Jasper’s Country Tap and Kitchen.

Stayed in SF for a week and after finding out about this place , I decided to go there daily. Good breakfast and dinner, delicious food and great staff. Really enjoyed getting to know Cesar, he has only good vibes and sets the bar up high for great customer service.

Went here Friday night as we were staying at the hotel Spero. We had a 5 dollar off coupon, we were not expecting much but had a good time. They were showing some sports on TV, food was good and they had a decent list of beers on tap. Our waiter was nice, helped us change the fries I had with my chicken sandwich to sweet potato fries at no extra cost, and they were quite good. Overall ambience was good, got a bit noisy later as the place got packed (around 9.30 pm). Overall good experience.

We had high hopes after reading other reviews. After a long day we arrived, particularly to order the beer flight to try a range of local beers but also to enjoy the food. We waited at least five minutes at the 'wait here to be seated' sign before anyone acknowledged our presences (despite only two tables having customers on). Then we were told that despite it being on the menu we couldn't have the beer flight. Eventually someone took our food order, which took an age to come (there were four or five tables with customers on by this point). Once we had eaten we waited another age for someone to clear our plates and bring the bill - I went to the bar to ask for it and was told I had to wait for our server, who was nowhere to be seen. The food (we both had burgers) was genuinely excellent, but let down by extremely poor service.

My husband and son had the burger and fries. Both burger and fries were good. I had to try a few of their fries, and I agree they were really good. I had the shrimp chopped salad, and while it was fresh with plenty to eat it needed a few more herbs. I ordered a cider, and asked how sweet it was. The server decided to bring me a small sample to make sure I like it, and it was perfect. Service was very good.

Wow!!!! My husband got the wings and I got the fish tacos (yum!). As a pescatarian, I have had A LOT of fish tacos in the area and can honestly say these are the best I’ve ever had. Not to mention the unbeatable prices. Thank you everyone and we will be back!

I had a meal and drinks here whilst staying at the next-door Hotel Spero. Very friendly staff and everything seemed good value. A 'sports bar' feel to the place, with several large flatscreen tvs showing range of sports. Seemed very popular with hotel guests and locals.

We were staying at the Hotel Spero again (a different name before), and this restaurant made itself a natural choice—down the hall, open the door. Big space, with plenty of room for early dinners. The menu had the expected options of eggs, with or without various meats; pancakes; waffles; corned beef. Decent coffee. Pleasant staff. The hostessing department could use a bit of direction—we were never sure if we were to seat ourselves, or wait to be seated, so mostly seated ourselves. We got service, so that worked. Food is good, prices are fair — nothing to complain about. And saved early morning walkabouts in the tenderloin.

I had driven by this spot while trying to find a parking lot for my hotel and it looked like a cool vibe. Once I got to my room I checked out some reviews online and decided to give it a go. I sat at the bar to watch the game and Mariano was sure to take care of me. Great lineup of local brews and the food was spot on. I was in the mood for some BBQ and the Whiskey Baby Back Pork Ribs sounded good. In fact, they were better than good but amazing. The meat was tender, the homemade sauce was on point, and the pickled onions sealed the deal providing a nice zing. Overall, with the service provided by Mariano and the food I have to give this a full 5. I went back for breakfast the next day and had a great experience as well.

Awfull!!! So greasy!! No flavor!!! Mashed potatoes drenched in some oil…not butter, feeling sick to my stomach!

Conveniently situated but lacks any kind of atmosphere. Service was polite and quick. We ate breakfast there on the last morning of our stay, it tasted good but my 'healthy choice' included cream!

It makes sense why this place always had availability. I have been in town the whole week and this place is right across the street from my hotel. So on my last night I thought I would give it a try. I ordered a Modelo beer from the menu but they informed me they were out so I selected something different. I ordered chicken wings and poutine, pretty simple items. The poutine was incredible, the wings barely room temperature. As I was eating I notice the bartender leave for about five minutes then return thru the front door and set a bag on the bar next to me. While minding my own business and curious I watch what she pulls from the bag. Come to find out the lady at the table behind me also ordered a Modelo and she walked across the street to the liquor store and bought a six pack so she could serve her. Bad move equals bad tip.

We stopped in here for happy hour on our first night. They have great options for happy hour appetizers. We had the brussel sprouts and poutine. One of my friends is from Canada so she was very excited to find "real" poutine. The food and drinks were decently priced and the servers were friendly.

Only had drinks here but it had a cool relaxed atmosphere, food looked good too. Well worth a pop in if in the area.

Went for bkft. Not real busy, but service was not good.poured coffee, had to ask twice for cream. Had Eggs Benedict. eggs were solid, should be runny. English muffin was not toasted. Very dry. Probably worst I’ve had. Saw waitress very seldom. My wife’s omelet was not good, lot of grease/oil oozing from it. Definitely would not recommend

We loved our visit to Jasper's and returned several times during this trip. The staff was super friendly. Great bartender who knows his craft cocktails! Fun, vibrant environment. Burgers were INCREDIBLE!! Highly recommend!

We went into the hotel restaurant because Taylor Coffee Co. was having an hour line at their breakfast stand. This is what happened... The service leaves a lot to be desired in this location due to the fact that we waited on our drinks and refreshments for several minutes after ordering and being told they were expedite such items. The decor has been remodeled and looks very nice and modern. The lighting is ample especially for the breakfast meal which has a lot of lighting natural coming in from the outside. This made for an easy and enjoyable atmosphere for our breakfast however the service was very difficult to get correct directions serviced as well as the items we specifically asked for. They were not very inquisitive over which side items we wanted and just assumed we wanted toast instead of the fruit which was also offered. The kitchen however was very flexible in the sense that they allowed us to change our side item orders at the last minute for fruit instead of the toast and we were given complimentary toast on the house. The food itself was okay it was fresh, it was hot, it was not flavorful you can tell it was a short order type of menu, however the potatoes that are labeled home potatoes were quite crisp and not so greasy with a little bit of seasoning, the sausage patties were excellent as is to be expected from frozen patties and the eggs themselves look to be freshly made to order however mine were a bit wet in the center and I prefer dry and over hard/ very fried. Despite this the food was okay there was a custard type of sauce that comes with the Flapjacks which was excellent as was the blueberry compote which was also given with the meal. Very delicious condiments to add to this breakfast. There are two types of coffee: one coffee came from the lobby, and the other came from the actual restaurant (this restaurant is connected to a hotel) however the restaurant coffee was quite good: fresh and hot; the other coffee I was served was not as good: cold and spicy, bitter, not an agreeable coffee for your meal. All in all you're able to enjoy your breakfast, it was large and plentiful and the pancakes were okay nothing great but just okay and the toast seemed to be a Texas toast in the morning was thick and plentiful for dipping into eggs if you got fried eggs. The scrambles were made with fresh vegetables which was good for the overall sense of my meal. I would say that if service was to improve there I would return. There was a head server which was excellent yet the rest of them need to really improve on their service and serving skills but overall it was a good experience for someone who's not in a hurry and patient enough to deal with the servers. Enjoy! Pricing was moderate but pricey compared to back East in Florida. The syrup was maple mixed with regular and the orange juice was California oranges which have a different but fair flavor, both items I forgot to mention but were fresh

I read some of the reviews on this place, and wasn't sure I would like it, but for what we needed it for the food was perfect. The staff in the restaurant is very attentive, and friendly. The restaurant is connected to the Hotel Spero, so its very convenient to have a meal there we had a late evening meal after spending a day exploring the city. The burgers are great, and the cookie with ice cream wonderful. Thank you Jaspers staff for everything you did for us.

We came here to have a couple of drinks before the magic show across the street. We were three during happy hour which always helps keep the bill reasonable. The staff was great and the drinks were good. We didn't eat her but the food looked good too. Seems like it would be a great place to watch a game as they have a lot of well placed TVs.

Handy for breakfast or a snack meal if staying at the Serrano Hotel, as access is just off the lobby.

The drinks and service here were good but the food is overpriced and mediocre. For one soup, one salad, and an order of fries the bill was almost $80! All if what we ordered was mediocre at best, the tomato soup has good flavor but the texture of marinara sauce.

Trendy looking bar, friendly staff. Food mediocre and expensive. White wine served in a stemless glass? Really? Not cool. Plus they add the sf health charge to bill. Bit of a let down which is a shame as it looks the part

We were seated straight away but then waited over 20 minutes before being spoken to again despite it being quiet and there being plenty of staff walking by us, we were about to leave when someone finally came to take the order. Both of our breakfast were incredible, probably our best breakfast in San Francisco

Happened on this place because we were short on time and our intended destination nearby had a big wait... the breakfast menu is nice and well done. The hash was great and granola parfait was pretty good too. Coffee was good. Our server seemed to wish she was elsewhere- hangover? Who knows? But overall we had a good breakfast and left satisfied.

We had dinner, breakfast and went again before going to have a beer to say goodbye! Our waiters, César and Mariano, were truly exceptional, very kind and friendly. The food was very good and the draft beers were great! We would repeat without hesitation!

My family ate at Jasper's 4 times while we holidayed in San Francisco. The food and service were that good! Caesar, our waiter on all of our visits, was extremely professional and helpful (from our first trip to our last). I can completely recommend this restaurant and their service.

We went for some late night eats - service was horrible - we got the charcuterie - the meat was inedible chunks of meat. They told us it was three kinds of meat and cheese and it was only two. When we mentioned it to the waiter he did nothing. Do not waste your money - go to the great tapas place down the street.

Breakfast was not very delicious and price was too high for this food. I don’t have anything to add.

Convenient to my hotel. I like that they open at 6:30. When traveling from the east coast, it's important to get an early start. Service was not very good, but there was only one server working and it's a pretty large venue. I blame management for this shortcoming, not the server. Food was ok, and the coffee was very good. Price is in line with most city eateries. Figure $20-$25 per w/tip for breakfast.

Attached to Hotel Spero (formerly Serrano) this little bar has a great beer & wine selection, is fairly quiet, has good service and reasonable (if not slightly high) prices. Happy hour runs 3pm-6pm where they have one of their wines, beers and a couple of cocktails on a rotating offer. They also have a couple of appetisers in the happy hour deal, although we didn’t try any other people near us did and they seemed to enjoy their food. The regular menu seemed reasonably priced for central San Francisco so it’s even better with a few $$ off during happy hour. Also, if you stay at Spero you can opt out of the maid service to get $5 bar credit each day.

Food was pretty good. It was our first meal in San Francisco and did exactly what we needed. The group had burgers, bisques, soups and various styles of fries- the special fries are not for the faint hearted, HOT! (But tasty!) Good beer selection

More of a bar than kitchen. Their $18 breakfast burger lacked the flavor I would have expected. I was with a group that also order a few bar drinks but I wanted an Arnold Palmer which I never got. The restrooms have digital locks on the handles which was unknown until you hunted down someone that knew. An accident waiting to happen in a bar.

My fiancé and I ate here as we were hungry and it was joined to our hotel (Serrano). The atmosphere was lively and the menu had a good amount of choice. Our food was nice, nothing special but fine if you just want a decent meal in a lively place.

great place, you will find everything you need in a restaurant, good food, great place, outstanding service. Thank you, Bryan M., you made our stay unforgettable!! everyone in this place is very kind and friendly

Great happy hour specials and delicious small plates. Marc took AMAZING care of us and made us the best margaritas we have had out of Texas!! Cool ambiance, clean place, and a great place to have a good time ( as well as sports watching for the hubby)

Dropped in for a quick beer, stayed for a few. Had the Oh Canada Poutine too....... perfect bar food. We were served by Breanna, she was lovely, nothing was too much trouble. Happy to recommend!

We tried the angus beef sliders, truffle fries and crispy tater tots all were absolutely delicious! The prices were reasonable and portion size to be expected for happy hour. The bartenders were attentive and nice very accommodating. We will definitely return when we are back in the city.

A walking disaster. No Mojito, no chips or peanuts. Looking to have a good time? Go somewhere else. There is nothing pleasant about the place

Went here with family, fine for dinner but nothing super special. Over-priced for what it was. Bisque was too salty.

Came here one night for dinner after bouncing around reading reviews and looking for a place that had a kids menu that my children could also enjoy. Jasper's seemed to fit the bill. While the area that the restaurant is in starts to get sketchy, the restaurant itself is beautiful and decorated in a modern fashion. We made a reservation just to be safe for Friday night at 6pm, but it turns out we didn’t need it. The place was empty and probably fills up later on in the evening….maybe. Our server came over quickly, and took our drink orders. Shortly thereafter, our drinks arrived, and the server was available to answer any questions on the menu. We ordered a couple of appetizers, included the Dungeness crab bisque. For dinner my son ordered off the kids menu, pepperoni pizza, my daughter got a grilled cheese, and my wife got the fish n chips. I also ordered the flat iron steak. So here’s where this restaurant needs to learn something. Do not, I repeat, do NOT bring out appetizers at the same time you bring out the entrees. That is very bad form. What are we supposed to do, eat our appetizers while our meals get cold? This was not cool and given the fact that there were only a few parties in the restaurant, completely unnecessary. Unfortunately, doing this puts a bad taste in my mouth and upsets me, so its very hard to enjoy the food as a result. So, restaurant management, if you’re reading this, please stress to your staff that appetizers should come out before the entrees, not all at once. I wanted to enjoy the crab bisque, which I did, but as a result, my expensive flat iron steak dinner sat there, getting cold, and frankly, when I was done with the soup, which was delicious by the way, the steak had indeed gotten cold, which was a shame for a $28 meal. I still ate it and chose not to complain about this practice, but I was not happy, and frankly, I don’t remember the steak being that good as a result. As for my kids, they thoroughly enjoyed their food, and the fish n chips was also a hit. Unfortunately for me and this restaurant, I can’t be 100 percent positive about my experience due to the simple process of bringing out apps first, then entrees. It’s a pet peeve and very hard to get over. To end on a positive note, the service was still very good, the beer selection is decent, and the restaurant is nicely decorated and provides a comfortable feeling. If they get their act together regarding app & meals coming out when they should, they I can recommend this place.

We stopped in for breakfast. The restaurant staff seemed disorganized and we thought at first that today was their first day open. The eggs benedict were good enough but we were never offered any additional coffee and we needed to ask for silverware. If you’re rushed and simply want to eat and run, then I suppose it might be ok. For us, and for the price, I would say to look elsewhere, especially if you are in this neighborhood (like Pinecrest Diner).

Nice place near Union square and serrano hotel. I love the hamburger and the steak. Price ok.. I reccomend this restaurant.

Jaspers was 'attached' to our hotel Spero. Great food, awesome breakfast, good value and great service, thanks to all the staff.

Service was atrocious and the food was meh at best. Server was slow, apathetic, made us feel like we were inconveniencing him by being there. Terrible experience.

Thank you Stefani our bartender you were so wonderful!! He made me so many amazing cocktails for mine and my moms birthday. You made our experience and on top the food was unreal. Thank you so much definitely recommend visiting this place for the best drinks and some of the best appetizers ever.

We called into Jasper’s, after arriving back late from a day trip to Carmel. There is a good selection of meals, and numerous craft beers to choose from. The two burgers we had were very tasty, and we really enjoyed them. Staff were helpful and friendly. The beer was good too!

Our visit started out well. We got served right away and had some really good pretzels and beer cheese. Then things went south. We sat at the bar and both bartenders were more interested in talking to the customers at the other end of the bar and showing off their martini shaking skills. I waited for over 10 minutes for a beer and for a staff person to approach us. The staff person who ended up approaching us was not even a bartender and said they would get the manager. The manager never showed up. When a bartender did eventually ask if we wanted anything we asked for our bill and waited another 10 minutes. No tip and we will never go back.

An awesome place to watch sports in San Francisco to drink cocktails and beer with friends 💯🍻 Friendly staffs and serves good American food and drinks 😋

This is a friendly smart bar offering a good range of drinks. We did not eat here so cannot comment on the food. To drink we had a very good Westfalia $8 and an Old Rasputin at $9. We were served by Meagen who was very helpful and the drinks were taken in a relaxed atmosphere.

This place was teeming with people! Somehow, we were ushered to a table for 2 right away. Our waiter was terrific, understanding our time constraint. I had a lamb chop with spinach which was positively delicious. We were able to eat at a leisurely pace despite having a 7pm deadline for theater. The ambiance is lovely. It was very noisy, but somehow it wasn't overwhelming.

We stopped in for breakfast at Jasper's Corner (in the Serrano Hotel) on a Saturday morning. It was a short walk from the Parc 55 Hotel. When we stepped inside, it was very spacious; much larger than we realized from the outside. The service was excellent and the food was very good. We were very happy to have gone to Jasper's when our original choice was too packed to squeeze us in. there was plenty of room and the place was clean and orderly. Jennifer's "American Breakfast" was in her words "perfect". My poached egg in the "Pacific Northwest Hash"was a little undercooked, but everything else was very good. I would definitely recommend Jasper's for breakfast near Union Square.

I went here after reading the reviews on TripAdvisor about their pancakes. Since I just love pancakes, I had to try them for myself. I ordered pancakes with blueberries and a coffee. They were certainly good but to be honest, after all those great reviews on TripAdvisor I was a little disappointed. On a scale from 1 to 10 where 1 is the best, I'd give them a weak 3. There are probably other places in San Francisco with better pancakes. Also, I paid quite a lot for my meal (24 $ in total).

Good food - good service - not quick. Four of us had appetizers and an early dinner on Saturday. All the food was very tasty. We shared steak, salmon, gnochi, and roasted veggies. The veggies came out room temperature - but still tasty. The cauliflower appetizer is a must have! Would definintely visit again! Perfect for the break between the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child 2 plays. Took longer than an average dinner which worked perfect for our 2 hour break.

Attached to the hotel we stayed in great food and drink, go for happy hour too. Great value. Try the topped fries lovely

We were stopping at the King George hotel on Mason Street and decided to have a wander around the block in search of bars for later in the evening. We came across Jasper's which is Located at the corner of O’ Farrell & Taylor Street a short walk away from Union Square. This is a really nice bar with modern décor throughout. At the time we visited which was early afternoon the customers seemed to be mainly local business people and office workers. We thought the bar looked really posh and hence may be quite expensive. We ordered our drinks and food then requested our bill to be surprised when the charge was quite reasonable.

Lovely fresh food & great orange juice! Lots of choice. Quick, efficient service. Would have liked to try for dinner but was a quick trip.

ordered a caesar salad to take out with shrimp - it cost around $30. completely unsatisfactory. All ingredients were just tossed in a box - romaine wasn't even cut into bite sized pieces. will not return.

Avocado toast was good with an egg. Likewise for the classic Benedict. Nothing special, but good. The low stools are a bit uncomfortable if you have short legs that can’t touch the ground.

We went into Jasper's Corner Tap and Kitchen since it was connected to our hotel The Serrano, and we just wanted a quick bite. We both had fish and chips, and a cocktail each. The cocktails were great! The fish and chips not so great, as they were rather greasy with too much batter. At $18.00 a plate, for mostly batter, which I had to pick off, I would have rather gone elsewhere. We did get 10 percent off for staying in the hotel and our waitress was attentive and friendly. I would suggest that they just advertise themselves as a bar, not an eatery, then their customers will not be disappointed.

Let's face it, windows were very dirty, and if you add the low lighting and the poor quality chairs and tables, it felt more eating at a bad motorway restaurant. I cannot understand the positive reviews. The food was not horrible but just average, but the overall experience was really unsettling.

Sunday Morning and looking for breakfast. This place looked nice. The service was extremely slow and it wasn't crowded. I ordered eggs benedict but they failed to inform me they were out of the bread it should have been served on and instead it was on basic white bread. The food was also served cold. The server didn't really seem to know what she was doing.

While staying at the hotel Spero, came to breakfast one morning at opening time, and even tho, it was during opening hours, the restaurant was still closed, disappointed I went back to my room & didn’t think of it any more. Today before I left, I gave it another try; I’m so sad I didn’t come every day of my stay, this was an awesome experience, the place was very clean, food was amazing, the French toast with roasted bananas were god sent, the cocked my eggs the way I like them with only one explanation (that never happens to me 😬) potatoes were unbelievable and they were fast and efficient on everything. The service staff was super polite and friendly and above all, genuine! My waitress was Carlie, super sunshine, super nice and on top of Everything! Thank you for making my morning brighter. Is awesome to start the day with people around you who’s good mood is contagious. The ambience was calm and yet nicely tuned with awesome background music. In overall, I love the place and def. will be back my next trip to San Francisco! Thank you

The food was mediocre, the service ok, the beer list was long. However, the beers were all brands that you never heard of and there was no description of them on the menu. I would not recommend this restaurant.

The Mimosa flight with 4 types of juices was just perfect for brunch and their Grilled Chicken Sandwich was right on. However the service for the second day, we called in and picked up for carryout was horrible. Barely greeted with sour faces and our order was almost given to someone else. We were planning on returning for drinks but not after that service.

Great place to unwind. Very friendly staff. I ordered a beer flight and loved them all. Wish we tried the food, it looked amazing.

We had the small plates to share. Lots of truffle oil on the Mac and cheese. The Brussel sprouts are almost deep fried... we opted not to finish those. I hear they have a good selection of beers - but only six on the menu and mostly IPAs. So-so overall.

Whilst staying at the Serrano hotel we used jaspers for our evening meal. Great to find a bar that offer fish and chips in a beer batter although they did use too much salt whilst cooking the chips I would definitely revisit jaspers

I recently visited this restaurant for happy hour. I was greeted by friendly staff and I was very pleased with the happy hour selections. If you order a drink during happy hour from their list, it’ll only set you back $6. They have a small list of happy hour food specials as well. Their beer selection consists of many local beers and the staff is very knowledgeable about the breweries. If I’m in San Francisco again, I’ll return to this spot.

We’re extremely hungry because of our jet leg. This was the only place in the area which was open on Sunday. Luckily it didn’t disappoint us. Good and tasty food for reasonable prices.

This visit I was ignored and happy hour was not clearly defined. Some days on some days no happy hour. So I kept moving to other spots locally.

We were staying at the Hotel Spero where Jasper's is located and decided to come down for breakfast before heading back home. Their breakfast menu featured a lot of standard fare but with good quality ingredients. I had bacon and eggs with a side of home fries and my wife had pancakes. Everything was prepared well and the coffee was excellent. Service was friendly and they kept my coffee mug full so I was a happy camper. We will definitely return to Hotel Spero in the future and in turn to Jasper's!

Just want to point out that happy hour is actually not so happy. The buffalo wings here are good... and on the usual menu it’s 6 for $10, so that’s like €1.66 per wing right? So when you then see happy hour wings at $7 you think that’s a very happy happy hour...saving $3. But the happy hour portion is 4 wings... that’s $1.75 a wing! The hotel I’m in for a few nights is above and recommended the bar and in particular the happy hour. I’m not happy

Fairly priced. Great service. Nice atmosphere. Buttermilk biscuits covered with a slightly sweet sausage gravy topped off with two eggs any way you like them. Complementary side bowl of fresh fruit. Their attention to detail sent the meal presentation over the top. I highly recommend Jasper's for breakfast!!!

Food was beautiful. Steak cooked to perfection, ribs amazing and cheeseburgers got a big thumbs up from the kids. Service was great. Cesar looked after us tonight and he was awesome. Would highly recommend.

We had breakfast here every morning as the location was just 2 minutes from out hotel, The Hilton Union Square .. The food was excellent well cooked and prices were reasonable . Service was good considering it was busy most of the time . Location Taylor Street .

I ordered a yummy tummy mac & cheese it was very good and my dad had chicken, and my brother had a very yummy fish tacos. The food is very very very very, very, very, very, very, very very very good and the mac & cheese, it has crispy cheese on the top. This place is perfect for families and good food.

We were planning on popping to a near by cafe, but the line was really long. Therefore we popped into here instead. The experience overall was good, though there were 2 severs for 40 people, with over 6 uncleared tables. We got told very abruptly by one of the servers to wait inline when the signs in the restaurant asked us to seat ourselves. We had to wait around 30min to be seated, but once we sat down the service and food was very good. Would I come back - probably not!

Breakfast location in the city near Hilton Hotel and others. Food was good. Service can improve but perhaps was new and learning.

I sat at a moderately quiet bar and waited 10 minutes before anyone approached. I placed an order, and although the drink arrived reasonably quickly, my order of Jasper’s fries took an unreasonably long time to arrive. Upon arrival, the fries and toppings were Room temperature, and some of the fries were so under cooked that they were crunchy. It’s as easy to make a decent French fry as it is hard to make a bad one. The service is as inattentive as the food is mediocre The drink service seems thoughtful, and the menu looks promising, but the slightest effort is required. I won’t be back.

Mario and Maria are both provide amazing service ! If you are in Union Square this is the place to go for good service and great food!

We didn't plan to go here at all, but after a few weeks of travelling, we just wanted somewhere close by to watch the NBA finals. This place was attached to our hotel and advertised 50c wings during the game - nearby and game boxes both checked. We also had vouchers from the hotel as a reward for not taking room servicing each day (which we forgot to spend!) We got so much more than we expected. The draft beer was reduced to $3 during the game, there were plenty of screens and a good atmosphere with a mix of fans from both teams. The service was very friendly, the waiters served with a smile and the food was absolutely amazing! As well as the game night wings, I ordered the pork chop, following the waiter's recommendation and it was incredibly tasty and juicy. We enjoyed it so much that we went back the next day for breakfast, and finnaly spent our hotel vouchers! The choice was so varied and different from other places. I ordered the quinoa bowl with poached eggs and it was one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Definitely recommend this place if you are in the area.

We found Jasper’s by accident, while walking around Union Square in search of breakfast. We ended up having breakfast there every morning while in San Francisco. The food (pancakes, American breakfast, biscuits & gravy and French toast) were all excellent and the coffee was quite good too. The waiters were very friendly and we even got to watch a few of the World Cup games while enjoying our breakfast.

In the break between a matinee and evening performance we asked for an affordable local restaurant with decent food. There were many options around Union Square and Jasper's proved to be not such a great choice for our party of five. The steak was ok but a magnifying glass was required to see it. My fried chicken, how can you screw that up, was a gunky, greasy crusted mess obviously deep fried in very old and not fresh oil. Ditto an order of fish and chips. The best dish proved to be a vegan/ vegetarian plate featuring cauliflower. There was an extensive beer list that helped the attempt to create a pub, sports bar ambiance. It was indeed a short walk to our theatre.

My partner and I actually went 3 times in two days! For dinner on the first day, burrata salad, two incredible burgers and a couple of beers, we were served by César, a very friendly and attentive waiter. The next day we went down to have breakfast, it is a bar that has access from the Spero hotel, which is where we stayed during our stay in San Francisco, which in addition to the proximity to the hotel, we repeat for the good service in what Regarding the staff and the food. The next day we went back to have some beers to kill time until we went to the airport. The first day we went to dinner we were eager to try more beers than they had on tap, a spectacle! This time we were served by Mariano, also very friendly and kind who helped us choose the beers we were looking for. Without hesitation I recommend this bar either to drink some of the fabulous beers they have or to try their tasty food!

A perfect place to eat, hang out and watch sports. Restaurant staff is excellent as well as the food, drinks and ambiance.

We went to see Bright Star at the Curran Theater and wanted someplace close for a quick dinner. We had a reservation but when we arrived they were only seating in the bar area (seemed to be some confusion about this later). We ordered several small plates to share. The fries with poutine and the deviled egg taster were both huge hits. We also has some regular dinner items, which came out quickly and hot. Our server was very helpful and prompt. It might have been nicer to sit in a booth, as we had hoped but in the end all was fine. The Niners win definitely helped! as did the large screen tv!

Scrambled eggs with meat and toast, a croissant with eggs and bacon, 1 glass of orange and a coffee, £50. Couldn’t believe it. It wasn’t anything special, it was nice but not worth £50. I enjoyed Mel’s for our dinner / lunch more as we got more for our money.

Came here with my mom. We had mac and cheese and a shrimp salad both of which were delicious. Service was ok. He was very slow although there were not a lot of people there and he brought the wrong wine. But food is great!

I am never keen on cafes associated with the hotel you are staying in. Very happy with the food and drinks. We had the spicy poke from the menu, really really good. The calamari and wings are up there as well. Staff friendly and on the case. Great.

Shrimp chopped salad was great and they let me special order without the chickpeas. The only thing missing was some bread so they gave me some sourdough bread toast which was perfect. The service was fantastic

Came here as visiting Marrakech theatre over road. Service at start was freindly and there was a good choice of beers and wine, expensive though they were. I had pork chop, this was substantial but for me a touch over cooked. The sauce with it was ok, it looked like a curry sauce but was probably not, I wasn’t really sure which gives an indication of its quality. For desert we ordered cheesecake. We were beginning to run late for the show so after waiting 20 mins for them to put a piece of cheesecake on a plate we tried to hurry them up. It was st Patrick’s day so busy but shouldn’t have been too challenging. When it arrived 2 mins before the start of our show it was fairly basic and had 4 blueberries but not the promised berry compote. Overall this place is far more expensive than the food quality warrants and the service, given the nature of our reasonable request for some urgency, fell below what we would expect. I am sure there are better places to eat within close proximity.

Came here for an informal meeting with a supplier. It was a pleasant spot and quiet enough o have a good discussion over a nice beer. The food selection didn't tempt us on a couple of occasions.

Went to Jasper's a couple of times during my trip - solely because it was convenient (and I hadn't discovered Pinecrest yet which was a bit farther from my hotel). The food here is average but the prices are high. Wouldn't urge one to go there, but if you're around and hungry can grab a bite.

I was a little worried when I stood beside the "Please wait to be seated" sign and no one came and no one came. Finally, I seated myself at a high table that was quite visible. A menu came - not quickly, but eventually, and from then on the service went very well. I ordered tea and eggs florentine and both were absolutely perfect. The waiter brought a box with a nice selection of teas and when the eggs came they were beautifully presented. They tasted great and the texture of the English muffin was to die for. My total was $15 before the tip, which I thought was entirely reasonable.

Me and my Girlfriend went to Jasper's on our final night in SF and had a brilliant time in a place with a great atmosphere.

Holiday weekend in June. Temps going to be in the 80s. You need more than 1 server and 1 buser at 8am on a Saturday morning!!! So obviously service was a 1....slow, random dishes came out in random order. Waitress never refilled coffee or waters. etc. Lots of big dishes and not a lot of smaller ones. (No bagels, muffins, cereal.) Which always seems like a push to make you spend more....maybe not, but just my opinion. In the end my 3 kids shared 2 fruit bowls and 2 biscuits and 2 juices. Plus 1 coffee. $45.

Went here for lunch with a friend. He had fish and chips and I had the tuna salad. Both very good. The tuna salad was really good, and a perfect lunch. Local beers on tap as well. Enjoyed a local Pilsner

On holiday with my family in SF from the UK. We had the best burgers we have ever had - 10/10! Rose served us and was fantastic. Can’t recommend this place highly enough!

So there's a convention in town and they decided to cancel Happy Hour that week -- what kind of a deal is that for locals? Otherwise, we enjoyed sharing a number of small plates and some good drinks. Not cheap and fairly basic decor but good location to theaters and hotels.

Fantastic happy hour for food and drinks but it loses a mark for slow service even though it was not busy.

My second visit to Jaspers in a month. Staff is so nice and accommodating, food is great. I especially like the Beyond Vegan burger they offer. Beers on tap nice and cold and convenient to Union Square shopping and activities. I cant wait to try their Brunch when I come back!

I was staying across the street on business at the Hilton. I decided to have dinner at this place, which is located on the corner of the Serrano Hotel. After my meetings I arrived here by myself around 5pm on a Tuesday without a reservation, but, was seated immediately at a comfy table in the rear. I started with and enjoyed my usual house margarita for only $7. I was very impressed by the Shrimp n’ Grits, which was cooked to perfection for $28. I like it when my shrimp are fresh tasting and crunchy. I ended with the “Lederhosen Lost” draft beer for $9. My total bill less gratuities was $50. Reuben took care of my table needs. I will return here again to enjoy some more Shrimp n’ Grits. After I posted my pics the restaurant management asked me if they could post one of my pics to their web site, which I agreed and they did.

Good for breakfast lunch and supper. Plenty of 'happy hour' times as well. Food very good but it can get very busy.

We arrived for a late breakfast and the place was not crowded. Nevertheless, after ordering coffee and food, we had to ask three different people -- including our server -- for a spoon as well as make two requests for sugar before getting any. That was only the beginning. We finally walked out after waiting 45 minutes for two omelets. The poor couple next to us was still waiting (10+ minutes) for menus when we departed.

Stopped in for lunch. Was not busy at all. Hostess advised the kitchen was slow but they would be right with us. Sat with menu for 15 minutes. No one showed up to serve water or take order even though different servers walked by. We left!

I was walking by looking for someplace to have breakfast until Avis would be open. I saw this place and luck me, I had a great breakfast (coffee, eggs and bacon) and the staff was super nice.

My colleagues and I were looking for a restaurant after traveling from the East Coast to San Francisco. Jaspers just happened to be located across the street from our hotel. The fish and chips were delicious. The service was great!! We returned that evening for dinner. The food was great. However, the service was not as good as it was earlier.

Billed as a gator pub but is much more pleasant than that sounds - a little bit quirky with all seating and tables quite high. Standard setup of screens showing sports but is easily ignored if not into that kind of thing. Great range of beers and nice varied but not too elaborate menu. Very friendly staff. Had a NY strip steak by which all future steaks will be judged against - superb!

This was a nice find for us. We enjoyed the food very much and atmosphere quite pleasant (almost felt like we were in London). Not cheap but very affordable. The restaurant is located very centrally and staff very helpful and courteous. Will definitely visit them again when in San Francisco.

Not sure of the connection but it doesn't have the style of the adjacent Hotel Spero. The hotel has a lot of class and design features and this is really just a bar. Had breakfast and the food is just ok and the service less so. It was early in the morning and I need speed to get to the airport but the staff didn't have much interest. Asked for the eggs to be soft and runny but this was totally ignored. Relatively expensive for what you get.

Atmosphere was ok and it seemed clean, but the service was AWFUL! Even though no one was waiting besides us, it took a while to seat us and they took our order pretty fast. But...after that, we never saw anyone. No one ever came to see if we needed anything. Food was just so so, but expensive.

We stayed at Hotel Spero so we had breakfast once and dinner once at Jasper's. The food was pretty good but still the price did not compare to the quality. In our case we did not want to walk for long so we just decided to go to the hotel restaurant.

Although I was staying across the street at the Hilton during a recent visit to SF I ventured over to Jasper's one morning to check out their brunch menu. I went with the Short Rib Hash and I could not have made a better choice: braised short ribs, two sunny side up eggs and crispy potatoes with cilantro and jalapenos. I don't advocate violence but this was slap-your-granny good. Not that you should in any way do that, but if she was dining with you and attempted to pilfer a fork-full of this you would be sorely tempted. I paired this yummy dish with the Black Hammer draft beer. Another highly recommended choice. Afterwards, I hailed a cab to take me to the Golden State Bridge. Being that I was a tourist and this was one of those "Things to Do In SF" kind of things, I hiked across the Bridge--and back!--in about one hour. Trust me when I say I don't believe I worked off one calorie of those short ribs or potatoes. My stomach still felt full! During my 4-day stay in SF, I returned to Jasper's two more times, for their $28 Pacific Jumbo Shrimp and Grits (just so-so) and their FlapJasper's buttermilk pancakes (too dry). But it's all good because I'm back home in L.A. and I'm still dreaming about that Short Rib Hash... I left my heart--and any chance of a trim waistline--in San Francisco!

Menu had a good selection of meals & appetizers - food was scrumptious. Great selection of wines by the glass. Service was efficient & friendly. (We did not have to wait like some other reviewers.) Ambience was informal but cozy. Would highly recommend this spot for casual dining. I’m unable to give individual ratings in the subsequent section for Service (4) Food (5) & value (5) as my iPad won't accept my clicks

Large restaurant, overpriced menu and poor service. Maybe a late night bar, but not a good breakfast option. When exploring options for breakfast, we thought a 4 our of 5 rating would lead us in the right direction. Unfortunately, not this time. Menu was priced same or higher than the JW Marriott restaurant, with food quality average. Menu offered the basics, with a couple of health options. There is not a line, but as they say...

This was a block from our hotel. It was not too busy and they sat us down quickly for a quiet breakfast.

The restaurant is located in the heart of the theater district. It is clean and the staff are attentive and helpful. The menu has a variety of wonderful options (the Jasper Burger was great, with a generous helping of blue cheese) and the wine menu, while limited was fine. We really enjoyed the bottled wines while the wines "on tap" left something to be desired. We also enjoyed breakfast the next morning and thoroughly enjoyed it.

We had the pork belly, chicken wings and sweet potato fries, which were all tasty. Happy hour cocktails $6 were not good value, small glass - order mixed up. We thought the wine was expensive - cheapest red was $11 a glass $42 for the bottle.

I waited 40 minutes for my eggs benedict and ended up not eating most of it because the ham tasted sour, as if it was off. Wish I took a photo of the presentation, it was basically two untasted, plain crumpets, with big slices of the above ham and two eggs on top. Plane Jane that I could have done better myself, and I'm an average cook at best.

When we arrived we told the hostess we were in a bit of a hurry , She was very nice and got us a table right away. We were only there for a drink and had a show right across the street. The doors to the show opened in 1/2 hour and we wanted to be there when they opened. It took us 35 mins to get a drink. It was horrible service and then we had to hunt the waitress down to get our credit card back. We will not go back.

We went to Jasper's for breakfast, the food was good and portions big but little pricey - breakfast for 4 was $78 and coffee refills were not free.

This restaurant was a little average. It was not busy, which maybe was an indication of it's lack of popularity. The service was incredibly slow in this restaurant, although the servers were cheerful and friendly. When the food eventually arrived it was nice, good sized portions but not mind-blowing considering the wait. Being almost empty there was little atmosphere in the room, but it was a quiet, relaxing breakfast, which is never a bad thing.

Server very pleasant in Jaspers. We stayed at the Hilton and ate breakfast here to start our day. The party of four, made up of two vegans, were all happy with their food. I chose toast and avocado with 'veg sausage' and it came out nicely presented. The other members were all very happy with their breakfast orders. If you're not sure (like me) of sausages and how they're cooked, order avocado on toast, double portion maybe? It's quite ample, and nice and healthy to boot! Coffee was lovely, but no soya milk. :(

Used Jaspers as I was staying in the adjacent Spero Hotel for a few days so it's very convenient. Nice food, omelettes were good as was the eggs benedict with salmon. I wasn't drinking but they have a good beer selection and TVs for sport.

Visiting SF for a few days. Looking for low key meal Jaspers provided it. Wine a bit over priced. Waitress was pleasant.

Nice spot in a dingy neighborhood. Place has a good locals vibe to it. The food was ok has the cobb salad it was tasty, but the chicken was dry. Staff was friendly and attentive.

We had given up trying to find a table in Union Square venues on a Saturday evening and found this place online and surprised how it had lots of tables available yet just a few mins walk from the bustling Union Square. It is part of a hotel. Good burgers, mains, smaller plates. Sports in TV screens. Good service.

Great location at the cross roads of Taylor and O’Farrell Enjoy the beer on Tap and the drink choices they have Good prompt service Friendly people will help you make choice of drinks and food

We actually set out to go to Taylor’s but I don’t stand in a ridiculous Que for food, when I’m hungry I need to eat now not in an hour... we saw Jaspers on the corner and went in. Servers were very polite and helpful and very fast and efficient service. I ordered the jasper omelette and it was delicious. Huge portion and wasn’t expecting the potatoes to come with it too. Only in San Fran 5 day’s and will be returning for sure before we leave

My wife and I dropped by Jasper's twice over the course of the same day. We had begun our day quite early, having traveled from the MIdwest to San Francisco, and arrived at our hotel (which was across the intersection from Jasper's) a bit early. We were both quite fatigued and hungry. In search of a late lunch, we chose Jasper's as it was right across the street. Lucky us !! Lunch was grilled cheese....delicious combination of gruyere, white cheddar, and muenster along with sauteed Vidalia onions on sourdough, and avocado toast with grilled potatoes....what a treat, though the Hollandaise sauce had too strong a lemon taste for me. Dinner that evening (chosen again for convenience as well as experience at lunch) was a bowl of crab bisque and Murray's chicken. Rich and tasty bisque. Chicken with just right masked potatoes along with asparagus and balsamic Cipollini. The Warriors were playing the Cavaliers that night, and the bar area was awash with folks socializing and enjoying the game. Nonetheless, our table was not impacted by the noise. Service was great at both meals. Prices were "friendly", though impacted by inescapable local taxes and surcharges.

Went to this place based on reviews from here and not disappointed. Food was tasty, service was quick and it was clean. Would recommend if your close to it and looking for a solid space to eat!

The food here is very good. I had to stay in the attached hotel on a business trip. The hotel and surrounding area is awful. The wait staff weren't especially great in that they were a bit surly and slow, but the actual food was great. The pancakes are delicious and come with actual Maple, not the cheap imitation. The coffee is excellent and so is the mac and cheese.

Meal quantitys good, quality was average however. Not worth the highish price tag. We also got double charged and told "it's your card vendors fault" even though they charged once without a tip and then charged the full amount AGAIN with the tip included. Not happy.

We were staying at the Hotel Spero and decided to try the in-house restaurant, Jasper’s, one night as we were tired and it was late. I don’t have high expectations for hotel restaurants, but I was pleasantly surprised. The service was fast and the food was great. The beat salad was amazing, and both of our main courses were delicious. Pleasant low-key ambience.
Attached to Serrano Hotel
Burger was made to order... but lacked seasoning. Had a wide selection of brews on tap. Best thing it was attached to the hotel so we didn’t have to go out anywhere. 6 pm on a Friday and it was empty. Toast for a Clubhouse wasn’t really toasted. Good views of the Marrakech across the street and the doorman there dealing dime bags on the side.
