Could be great! But my experience was just ok. Server = great! Salsa = great! Poblano Chicken Taco = great! Maybe the house rita was good? I ordered it twice “rocks no salt.” Both times it came with salt. I mentioned it the second time and then watched as the bar tender just poured it into another glass - essentially pulling all of the salt from the rim into the new glass. So - both were extremely salty. The queso was ok. The beef fajita taco was really poor. Ambiance is quaint. It’s definitely busy. They have HH specials... it’s “ok”. Almost good.

Javi's is a great place to eat. The food is good and the service is very good. They get you in and out

Decided to try Javi’s based upon solid reviews and right next door to our hotel. The first thing that hit us was the lackluster atmosphere. Sterile white neon lights, metal tables and a concrete floor - felt as if we were in a school cafeteria were it not for the two TV’s with the show Bride Wars being aired. Also quickly noticed that the ambient noise level in the room was quite high. This is where the negative comments end. We were seated right away and quickly met by our server who was adequately attentive. I ordered the Chicken Breast Salad which was extremely tasty. He marinated chicken breast was very tender and flavorful, and the grilled poblanos added nicely to the mixed greens, slaw, and tortilla strips. My business partner ordered the Classic Burrito with beef and green tomatillo sauce, which he said was delicious. He had also ordered a tall rum and coke - which I normally would not order at a Mexican restaurant - was also very good. I stuck with my favorite beer... Negro Modelo. We were blessed when the TV channel was changed from VH1 to Monday Night Football, although way too noisy to actually hear the game. All-in-all a very satisfying diner. I will definitely come back when on business and staying nearby.

I took my students to Javi’s for dinner. It was right across the street from our hotel. It is nice quaint restaurant. The servers and staff were extremely friendly. Most meals were less than $10. The salsa had some heat, but it’s authentic Tex Mex. We should’ve known.

Javis is a great place for authentic Tex-Mex. The salsa is slightly spicy and homemade and the cucumber/habanero margarita is superb. The service is spot on. I had the enchiladas with beef and chicken. There was sooooo much food!

Great food. Good price. Been here twice this week. Fajitas were fantastic. Chips and salsa, Some of the best salsa I have ever had. I don't eat Mexican often but I would if this place was close to home. Very highly recommend.

A very pleasant surprise after dropping friends at airport and visiting sick relatives in Montopolis area. We were so hungry! Now we are SO SATISFIED! Taste is fresh and authentic. Salsa has heat and an extra touch of flavor. Waitstaff know their menu and offered great suggestions.

Excellent Tex mex with nice open restaurant. Fast and friendly service even when it was very busy. They had great chimichangas and fajitas along with good margaritas.

Close enough to the Hilton to quickly grab something during a break from a event. No frills. Good service.

This place was recommended by our nearby hotel staff when we arrived on after an evening flight. It was about 9:30 pm, and they posted that they were open until 10. We discovered when we walked in that they'd only serve us takeout, because the boss told them it wasn't busy enough to stay open. We were disappointed because we were so hungry, but decided to order anyway and take it back to the hotel. They made us drinks and gave us chips and salsa while we waited, and the food was ready quickly. Guess there were quite a few employees working, and perhaps they were eager to close up on a quiet weeknight! But, we wished we could have stayed and eaten there. We loved the food!

I ordered the regular house margarita and it was awful, downright bitter. The second one was a Patron and was much better, in fact one of the better margaritas any of us had during our Austin trip. I had the beef fajitas and they were only average. My coworkers had the chicken burritos and the crispy chicken tacos and liked them both. Service was without personality. I would return again only because it’s convenient to the hotels nearby and I would only drink the Patron margaritas.

Excellent food, everything cooked fresh and good customer service. Highly recommend this restaurant. Close to the airport.

We ate here while staying at a hotel close to airport. We thought the food was very good and very reasonably priced. The food tasted freshly prepared, the lettuce crisp, the guacamole had good flavor. The refried beans had good flavor, not bland. The cheese enchiladas were a nice balance of cheese to tortilla. Small complaint, there was a yellow cheese sauce over the enchiladas that tasted a lot like American cheese! However there was cojita cheese that came along side the lettuce, quac, and tomatoes. Great sweet iced tea! Nothing in our order came with a chile pepper heat so if anything, we could have used a little jalapeno or something but that is always a personal preference.

Doesn't look like much, but was clean and quick for a meal close to the airport. We were waiting for our son to arrive on another flight and had about 2 hours. Margarita was average but tacos decent

We stayed at a hotel near the airport and found out this place was right next door so we walked on over for an easy dinner. I had checked out the reviews on here before even going and tried the recommended Daniel's Quesadilla and it was very good! The chips and salsa were good as well. The service during the meal was great with our waitress coming around to fill drinks and check on us regularly. This was a surprise as there seemed to be only two cover either side of the restaurant and acting as hostess as well. The only hiccup to the entire experience was they had charged the wrong meals to our credit cards. It wasn't that big a deal as they were only about $0.60 difference so we just paid it and moved on. Great experience on a whim here!

My colleagues and I enjoyed lunch today. The chips and salsa arrived as we were seated and our order was taken by a friendly waitress. We only have a few questions about menu items but they were all answered politely. Food was served quickly and was very tasty.

Javi's was recommended by a local, usually a good sign. The menu is diverse with some unique dishes. This is just based on one item, I was dining alone this trip. Had cheese enchiladas with a queso and chilli sauce. Little too much sauce for me, portions not overly large bit adequate unless you are starving. Maybe my bad luck but the booth was very lumpy and uncomfortable. Very good service. I would go back as several other items look worth a try.

Close to the airport but just so so. The food was average. We were charged for chips and salsa because we were 15 minutes before lunch. They weren’t worth the extra charge.

The food was great for this little hole in the wall restaurant. I would definitely go back. The chicken tacos were delicious and the service was great!

The food was very good and affordable and the restaurant was clean. The service was also good; the wait time was reasonable.

We were staying at the hotel next door and decided to have dinner at Javi's. The restaurant seemed busy enough but I am not sure why. The food was pretty bland if you compare it to what we had experienced in the rest of Texas. As an example, I had the Chicken Tortilla Soup...no flavor unless warm water with chips on top is a flavor. Our entrees' were marginally warm (this might be too generous a comment). We tried to talk to our server but she was no where to be found. After flagging down a different server (who apologized) they of course could do nothing. Since this was one of only two restaurants within walking distance of our hotel, I would recommend taking a cab someplace rather than going back to this place.

There are a ton of hotels near the airport in south Austin but not many restaurant choices when you stay there. And if you saw the traffic at rush hour, you would not relish driving very far to find one! That’s why we were particularly grateful to find Javi’s...Good Tex-Mex, terrific margaritas, and our server was lovely. We would gladly return.

Highly recommended by the hotel I stayed at.When I arrived I was sat right away. The place was very large inside and clean.Thw pancakes were amazing. The prices were reasonable.Great place to have breakfast.also you have to try the jamica I love that drink

This location is near the Austin airport - I walked over from the La Quinta (its about 3 min walk). The restaurant offers a wide selection of tex-mex cuisine, desserts, and has a liquor license. I had had a big lunch so ate lightly - house salad and small soup - which were fine. But what just stood out so strongly was the excellent service provided by Pamula. She was at my table quickly with a menu and an offer to take a drink order. Chips and salsa appeared quickly. But most unusual, Pam was there right after the salsa bowl was near empty with a refill. She was there at the appropriate times when I wanted to order, get another drink, or order dessert. Really - this service was 5 star and I hope her management value her as much as the clientele must!

Near the airport, clean and reasonably priced. Service was a bit slow but not an issue. Food was fine but unremarkable. If you are staying in the hotels on Ben White Blvd, this was the only food we located in the area other than a Denny's,

I had barely checked into my Marriott Courtyard hotel near the Austin airport when TripAdvisor sent me a notification about good restaurants near me. I had driven through awful thunderstorms to get here, and had little interest in getting back in the car to find dinner, nor in eating dinner from the hotel bistro. Javi's turned out to be only a 3 minute walk away, and what a treat it was! I arrived at about 8 p.m. on a Sunday, and there were only about 4 other tables occupied. The atmosphere is sparse, with utilitarian tables and chairs and a couple of televisions that were tuned into sports. Mexican pop music played in the background. The menu was, thankfully, much more condensed than the typical endless offerings at Tex-Mex chains. Chips and salsa arrived at my table almost instantaneously, and both were great. The chips were light and crisp and the salsa (definitely house-made) was bright and flavorful. I decided to take my server's advice on the one dish I shouldn't miss if I were never to come here again, and she recommended the mole verde (chicken with green mole) and corn tortillas. The mole was outstanding...rich, complex, and subtle flavors...so much more interesting than the typical Tex-Mex. I had a margarita that was fine, but nothing special, and the bill was about $16...a good price for a great meal. I doubt I will ever have occasion to eat here again, but I am very grateful to TripAdvisor for the recommendation that allowed me to enjoy it tonight!

This was a great Tex-Mex restaurant and I loved the Chimichanga and the Street Tacos. I was surprised when the Chimi came out smothered in White Queso! Yum. Definitely recommend!

We were in town for one night at the airport. Green Mole Enchiladas were heavenly. My husband had the Tex-Mex Dinner and raved. This place is one of the few Tex-Mex places where the house salsa is hot. (We often ask for their hottest salsa.) The margaritas were also fabulous - who cares if it was in a tea glass! And the service was excellent, shout out to Jose.

After driving two hours to the hotel and not wanting to get back out to eat, Javi's was recommended by the hotel staff. The menu contains a wide range of food and drink choices. The service was good and the food was very good and served warm. This will now be my go to place to eat when staying near the Austin airport.

What a great meal we had at Javi's. The Enchiladas Mole was over the top delicious. Javi's Mole sauce is so very good. The black beans (outstanding) and rice were a perfect addition to the enchiladas. The tortilla soup was delicious, loaded with chicken, and very hearty. My dining companion had the "Rajas Plate" - two tacos with grilled onions, potatoes and poblano strips on corn tortillas topped with lettuce, tomato and cheese. This also came with black beans. Our order was at our table in record time. The entire staff were very friendly. Service was fantastic. Javi's is way on the other side of town from where I live but every time I am in the area at the right time of day I will stop in to Javi's for great Tex Mex.

Javi's is located in a strip mall near the airport. We were looking for someplace quick and casual, as we were tired from travel, and the front desk personnel at the hotel recommended Javi's. It was just what we were looking for! I had a patron margarita and hubby had a mojito, both excellent. The salsa and chips were fresh and good. I ordered Linda's plate, chicken breast with grilled onions, poblano peppers, and mushrooms. It was very good, as were the shrimp tacos. Our server was personable and efficient. I would go back!

We stopped at this out-of-the-way restaurant when we saw how crowded it was the night before and it was near our hotel. We were seated right away and the server wasn't far behind. The food was good. And while all that is a definite plus, one thing happened that really showed how they treat customers. A large group came in and started to take over the table beside us, pushing tables together, grabbing chairs, and nearly hitting me with the chair. The hostess came over to us and apologized, indicating she would comp our meals for the inconvenience. We refused. It wasn't her fault. We would definitely return to this restaurant. I gave four stars instead of five because the margarita wasn't very good.

Service was super fast. Light Chips and salsa with just a hint of heat and lots of cilantro. Street tacos were fabulous. Plenty of parking. Friendly staff. Best Tex-Mex I ate during my week in Austin.

I was on a day trip to Austin for a morning workshop at the Metro Center and Javi's was the closest place to grab some lunch before heading back to the airport. The service was prompt and courteous, the Taco Salad was as good as any I've eaten and the price was reasonable. It's been several years since I ate here last and it seems they've grown in popularity as it was very busy for just after 1 PM. I'll be sure not to wait as long before eating here again.

We ate here the nite before our flight. This was the only place close to the Austin texas airport. We were lucky! The margaritas were perfectly wonderful! We had the chicken flautas, tortilla soup, the chicken breast with salsa and margaritas on the rocks. This place rocks! I highly recommend this place. The service was excellent. I definitely plan on returning.

We were traveling and flying out of Austin, so we had a very short amount of time to (1) BRAVE TRAFFIC, (2) Re-fuel and return the rental car, (3) Hopefully spend 30-40 minutes with a dear friend we would otherwise miss on this trip, and (4) Grab a quick bite to eat that wouldn't leave us squirming and moaning on the long flight home. Our friend from Austin suggested Javi's Best of Tex-Mex. It was *PERFECT* !!!!! We ordered a large selection of appetizers, along with a Green Mole (which I simply couldn't resist). It was served beautifully at the table in a flash, and within minutes of arriving we were laughing with loved ones and snacking on great healthy fare completely appropriate for the occasion. And the best part - bought gas right next door at the convenience store, dashed onto the freeway for just a sec to get to the airport, returned the rental car and made it to the gate in perfect time. Thanks Javi! You are doing it right :)

Stayed at a hotel near the airport. Was late, they are open until 10pm. Got seated right away. Server was right there getting drink order. Came right back to take order. Being a first timer wanted to look at menu. But she kept coming back until we were ready. Got chips and salsa which was good. Had Chili Relleno with chicken and onions with refried beans. My sister had enchilada verde sauce. She said to much sauce but was good. Only drank water, but tasted funky to me. Definitely will return if we get the chance.

Went here as it was within walking distance to our hotel. Service was off so we were concerned about what the good would be like. Restaurant really loud too. Food arrived and was good. Enjoyed the chicken dishes. Salsa very good. If can get service more organized, would really be a great place to go.

Javi’s was the closest restaurant to our airport hotel, so we went there for dinner. Our nachos, fish tacos, and beer were good and satisfying. Service was nice too! We would happily go back.

I gave this restaurant a try based on TripAdvisor reviews. I started with a house margarita, since it was still happy hour - bad decision. The margarita mix was overly sweet, probably trying to cover up the taste of the bad tequila. The guacamole was fresh, with large chunks of avocado; not much seasoning, though. The truly bad part was the main course. I ordered the "ground beef" chimichanga. It was really a rice chimichanga (is there such a thing?) with a little ground beef added for color. The bean puree (were those supposed to be refried beans?) would have had to be 20 degrees hotter to be considered luke warm. My server, Blanca, was very friendly and attentive, however - the only reason this wasn't a one-star review.

We have never had a bad meal here! Food is fresh, portions are large and price is good. Tried it because it was next to our hotel, now we stay at the hotel so we can walk to Javis. Enjoy!

I stopped by for a late lunch based on a recommendation from staff at "Hardwood Bargains" just down the street. I ordered the #2 lunch special which is one beef Enchilada, a beef Crispy Taco, beans and rice for $6.75. So, it's a good deal. The chips and salsa are free and the salsa is a mild spicy. The plate arrived within minutes and the meal was a decent Tex Mex experience. I suspect parking is hard at rush times. This place is located on the southeast corner of the Riverside / Hwy 71 intersection in between the Starbucks and Subway.

After a long flight, the meal at Javi's hit the spot, before we drove onto our hotel. The staff were attentive, with chips and salsa served before we gave our drinks order. We looked over the extensive menu and settled on two orders of a chimichanga meal. Our meal came out promptly and was delicious and what we expected, hot and plenty of sides on the plate. A restaurant that lives up to its name and one we will certainly visit again.

Wow! Bright cheerful setting, with excellent food. Waitress was friendly and helpful. Chips light and crispy with a pepper forward salsa with medium heat. Wife said best enchiladas verdes she's ever had and she has them a lot. My flautas were crispy and stuffed with tender chicken and the guacamole was on point, too! Big helpings under 20 bucks - had leftovers the next day!

We wanted to walk to dinner since the traffic in the area was so crazy. If you get in the wrong lane and make a wrong turn, you can easily take 30 minutes to get back on track. So we walked to Javi's. The restaurant was packed with only a couple of tables open. Salsa and chips were delivered fast. Drink selection was excellent as was the food selection. We had veggie fajitas and verde mole enchiladas. The salsa was very good. Service by Blanca was quite good (she was swamped). The follow-up service after the meal was a little slow but fine. Would definitely eat at Javi's again if I were in the Austin Airport area.

My husband and I stopped in here for dinner and a beer before heading to a concert. Our server, Blanca was super friendly and attentive. Both my husband and I enjoyed our meals. It’s nothing fancy but I would go back.

I had the EL JEFE PLATE and it was very good! The server and other staff were friendly and efficient even though the place was very busy. I would most definitely eat there again.

Just your run of the mill Tex Mex and As others have said, the service leaves a lot to be desired. We walked in and no one spoke, the restaurant was mostly empty. Waited until finally the front end person came back. She seated us in a booth that was at the end by the windows. It was too small to sit at. We moved ourselves. She tried to set three more table at that booth while we waited for our waitress and none of them could actually sit in the booth and all ended up moving themselves. The waitress finally came to get my drink order. We waited and waited for our drinks. Again, a mostly empty restaurant. When our food came, it was decent. I didn't get exactly what I ordered but ate it anyway because there was no getting the waitress' attention again. Empty drinks, empty waters, all she cared about was taking our dishes as we finished eating. Even paying our tickets, which she gave us with our food ( code for you aren't getting anything else even if you want it). took forever.

One of only two restaurants by the hotel to have dinner. The food was absolutely fabulous. However, I would not recommend you go here if you are in a hurry. Took a few minutes to even put our drink order in. It seemed as though they might have been short staffed on the night we were there. We were unwinding from a long day - so we were not in a hurry. And like I said- the food was great!

We came in as a party of 12 and were quickly seated. Our orders were placed and promptly served. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The food was great. Everyone at our table was satisfied for the quality and abundant portions. ~ John from New Hampshire.

This is a small restaurant in the middle of an area populated by hotels. Really good food. Several others mentioned the chips and salsa to begin the meal. The chips were warm and salsa was unlike any I have had in a Tex-Mex restaurant. A noticeable heat balanced by sweet tomato and pepper. Addictive. I had the Chile Relleno and it was delicious. But don’t get it unless you really like cheese! It was loaded. All the other dishes people ordered were equally excellent. Will go back next time I visit.

My colleague and I ate here twice this week while on a business trip. First time was at the recommendation of the hotel; second time because it was so good the first time. This is great Tex-Mex food. I grew up in Texas and have been away most of my life since college. This is the food I craved all those years! Incredible guacamole, spectacular tacos, and enchiladas that you get when you are good and go to heaven. The staff is also incredibly nice. This is my go to place in Austin whevever I return. Highest recommendation!!

A great restaurant tucked on the route to the airport on Hwy 183. Sure, it's not on the main "drag" of downtown Austin but well worth the drive. Like the title says, fresh made everything! Fresh made salsa, EXCELLENT!, fresh made tortilla chips, LIGHT AND FLAVORFUL!, and, of course, fresh made tortillas, SOFT AND FLUFFY! I have been twice this week and both times had the fajitas. Beef earlier in the week and chicken on this last visit. The taste is awesome and the amount of veggies, tomato, onion, green and yellow peppers, are just right. Nothing floating in grease and everything prepared right and fast! That along with some of the best charro beans around, just add a grande house margarita and you've got yourself one heck of a delicious meal and it won't break the bank! I will definitely be back when I return to Austin.

Went to this place because it was walking distance from my hotel. Not the worst Chile Relleno I have ever had, but not the best either. But, the chicken tortilla soup was tasty! Broth was fresh and flavorful, fresh herbs and veggies, and actual tortilla strips (not the fake, colorful ones). Had the Pura Vida Margarita; higher priced, but worth it. The fresh squeezed citrus juices definitely tasted better than the bar-pac sweet and sour. I do quite a bit of business travel in the area and will probably go back. Maybe I'll try the enchiladas next time.

I ate at this location after arriving in Austin late as it was recommended by the hotel staff. They were right, the food was delicious (chips, salsa and pork burrito with rice and beans) and the waitresses attentive and friendly. I would like to eat here again to try additional items on the menu.

We stopped by for a quick bite. I ordered the taco salad and the wife ordered tacos. The food is ok but not something to write home about. The service lacks: waited on quickly and took our order is a decent timeframe. Food arrived in a short period. Ate and waited and waited for refills and then the check.

I was not impressed, ordered a taco salad and it was so over powered by grill onions that's all you could taste. No dressing. The service was so slow. Next visit to Austin, we drive right by

We found this restaurant to be a very good value with excellent service and food. I had a pork dish which was very tasty and my wife had chicken tacos which she also found enjoyable. We would certainly eat her again if in the area.

We were looking for a breakfast spot outside the hotel we were staying in. Looked up restaurants close by and this one looked good. It opens a bit later than we usually eat, but decided to wait until they open to give it a try. Good idea. I ordered an enchilada plate and my wife the huevos rancheros. The food came quickly and was absolutely delicious. We discussed our choices with the splendid waitress and she vowed to try the enchiladas that I had. Altogether a great experience, with good food. Would have returned the next morning, but an appointment prevented it. Give them a try if you’re staying in one of the myriad hotels near AUS.

Went here because it was next door to our hotel (Hampton Inn) and needed a quick lunch. The service was great, many choices on the menu, everything we had was delish! Complimenatry chips and homemade salsa when you get to your table. Would def go back for more! Good prices.

Found this place right next to the hotel I was staying in for the weekend. The price for the food is great and the food is also great! Service was great as well. I'll come back if I'm in the area again.

There are a ton of hotels in this area near the airport but surprisingly few places to eat. When we stay in Austin prior to an early flight, therefore, we often eat at Javi’s. It’s good Tex-Mex with friendly service, and we’re glad it’s here.

We were close to the airport, and did not want to drive, and the hotel staff recommended this small restaurant across the road, between Starbucks and the gas station. It does not look like much from the outside, or the inside. We grabbed a table and chairs, the waitress brought out some chips and salsa while we were looking over the menu....after a couple bites of the salsa, our mouths were hotter than burning Jet-A fuel at the airport.....but it was still good. The happy hour margaritas were good/OK, but I tried a house special margarita after that, and it was great.....but they said they could not give/sell me one to go, even if we were in the hotel next door....she was very nice, we had no good argument to make for that drink to go, so we paid our bill, left a tip, and walked out the door with a smile on our faces.. We both give this one a two thumbs up cold beer in the river for you guarantee.....bring some tums with you if you are also from the upper Midwest.... Mahalo

It's actually been about a month since we stopped in on an overnight in Austin and I still remember the meal, so it's worth sharing here. Side note-We walked over from the Best Western Plus on the other side of the highway. I do not recommend this. Although the distance is short enough it is obvious that a homeless camp has been established in the bushes near the hotel. Only one person was currently out soliciting money, but judging by the amount of debris (bottles, syringes etc) I would not walk that stretch at night. However, the restaurant was a bright spot in the strip mall across the way. Exceedingly clean with friendly, efficient staff. The margaritas we had were wonderful and it was no time at all before our order arrived. We ordered the tacos pastor and grilled fish tacos. After one bite, conversation ceased as we concentrated on the food. Fresh flavor just burst out of each selection. The rice and bean sides were fine, but the tacos were excellent. We're glad we braved the hike over.

The salsa is so spicy that I welcomed the Margarita. The Chili Relleno plate is delicious and filling. Be careful of the Margaritas. They are a bit stronger than you think. I drank 2 with my meal and got 2 to go. 2 are still in the fridge. It's my birthday today and I can't wait to spoil myself again. All I need is a good excuse. Like taking a lady out.

Close to the airport and many hotels. Easy with good food and great service. Will come back for chips and salsa and enchiladas.

Stopped here on the way to the airport. We had the soft tacos, fish tacos, and enchilada taco lunch plates and everything was fine. Not remarkable. Did enjoy the fresh chips and salsa. Solid Tex-Mex, but not outstanding. Food was served hot and promptly.

I think we had the best waitress in the place the night we were there. What a sweetie! All smiles and quick to serve. She even gave me a hug when we left! Lots of great tequila choices and the food was quite good. Despite it being a busy night our food came out quickly and was nice and hot. Definitely recommend!

In town for the motorcycle races and staying very close to the airport where food pickings are slim if you want to not drive in traffic. Javi’s is next door to the hotel and as someone from the Southwest I have expectations for flavor and heat in my Mexican food. This was really good. The red salsa was muy picante and the green was hot and savory. I had Jesse’s fajitas with chicken which was delightful and my husband had enchiladas that had 3 sauces. We also had a poblano quesadilla which was flavorful with grilled onions and delicious poblanos, cheese and something else but we wolfed it down so fast I can’t say what other veggies were in there! Two Negra Modelos also helped relax us from a travel day. Our server was young and charming and helpful and offered up some places to visit here too. She was prompt and put food came out fast! I am certain that this place gets busy as it did by the time we left for our early dinner but this food was great. I would definitely recommend this place for real food with spice and flavor. Guacamole and Sour cream were nice compliments to the quesadilla too. We are wayyyy too much - but it was worth it. If you are staying near the airport in any of the myriad of hotels here or are stuck in traffic pull off, have a meal here. Yum.

We live in Houston where there is never a shortage of good Tex-Mex. Some other cities done do it as well. We were surprised by Javi's. The food was good and the wait staff was efficient. The queso was the best! When visiting and staying near the airport, we'll go back.

Went in late on Friday night and were greeted very friendly as we are out of towners. We tried the specials burrito and Edwards dish. Great. Kids meals were great too. Add in house margaritas and we had a great time. Service was excellent and and questions that we had were answered. A great night out. Close to the airport and right by our hotel. Very convenient.

Easy and convenient to hotels & airport area. Great quick service & reasonable priced food. Had queso & hard shell tacos. All were very tasty.

So I pulled up Trip Adviser to see where we could eat. To my surprise, this restaurant was right next door to the La Quinta where I was staying. Wow! This place was packed. The food and service was equally, WOW! Nice little place for mexican food.

We were staying at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites out here and thought there would only be chain restaurants to choose from. Thank the burrito gods Javi's was out here. I lived in San Francisco for 12 years so my bar for Tex-Mex is pretty high and Javi's was very good. Nice waitstaff. We ate here twice within 24 hours :)

It is a small restaurant, but very clean and nice environment. The young lady that took care of us was very nice and helpful. We are vegetarians, and she offered many options to us! Everything was beyond delicious!!! The restaurant is run by a family, and they cook everything there. It doesn't take long to receive your meal, everything fresh made, Yummy! Oh, and prices are affordable. ;)

This was my second visit to Javi's but my first for dinner. A good selection of US (and imported) bottled beers to whet the throat during the (short) wait for my avocado salad. I chose a Chicken chipotle dish for my main meal which didn't look too appealing, however it was delicious. The Staff were very friendly, polite and attentive (during a busy period) and this is definitely a place to revisit for good food. The only downside was a lack of atmosphere however I was dining alone so that may have had an impact.

Loved it. Took friends and family there & everyone loved it. The chips & salsa are delicious. Shrimp tacos were yummy. Refried beans were divine! I’ve struggled to find good food in Austin. The chips were thin & crisp, exactly the way I love them. Can’t wait to go again.

Just arrived in Austin and needed a quick bite, went to Trip Advisor and read reviews; near the airport, found in a strip mall but don't let that deter you; lunch menu reasonably priced and the food was good; thin chips and spicy salsa were good; I had lunch Carne Guisada and it was very tasty; fast, attentive service; would eat here again but when in Austin, you have so many places to choose from; also many food trucks, so I have my job cut out for me

I've been here twice now and find the food delicious. I eat Mexican food regularly and find Javi's to be at the top! I'm getting hungry just writing this. I've had a quesadilla and the chimichanga. The margarita on the rocks was great, too.

The food was hot and tasty. The beer was cold. Service was fast and friendly. Altogether a good find. Located near hotels and the Austin airport. Easy in and out from a traffic standpoint.

Simple food, relaxed casual atmosphere and good prices. Full bar and good range of drinks and beers. I've read some reviews that indicated service was slow. I experienced prompt service and a good degree of attentiveness. Overall and good experience.

Open to dine in now. Good food, good spacing between tables and really friendly staff. I won't hesitate to return on my next trip to Austin.

We dined here due to it being located near our hotel while staying in Austin. I kind of expected mediocre food but it was just the opposite. Excellent service and great food at a good price. The servings were large and made fresh. They also had vegan options on the menu. I will be a repeat customer when in the area again.

I confess. I do not eat spicy (hot) foods. Though recently I have learned doing so is sometimes useful if you have sinus congestion. My "family" at Residence Inn Austin Airport (about 1/2 mile walk from Javi's) said this was a good place to eat. They were right. Again. It's typically filled during their open hours, though I have not had to wait more than 5 minutes at the most on any of my daily visits. (I need the exercise). And the food. They offer breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Go for the food. You'll thank me later..

I didn't expect much when I walked over to find dinner at this strip mall based upon the recommendation from my airport hotel's front desk staff. Javi's Tex Mex was amazing in every respect. Service was prompt and super friendly. I ordered a tortilla soup, tacos poblano and iced tea - everything was delicious, came quickly, and costed $17 (phenomenal value). A giant bowl of delicious fresh tortilla chips and salsa also came for free. I couldn't finish everything, even though I really wanted to! I highly recommend this restaurant. It made my day.

Javi’s is great for Tex-Mex in an informal setting. I had spinach and mushroom enchiladas with zucchini, and my wife had tacos. Fast and friendly service.

We chose this restaurant because we could walk to it in less than a minute from our hotel. We were seated promptly and chips and salsa were immediately brought to our table. We ordered the layered queso as an appetizer to go with our chips. It was delicious. I got a fish taco which was also very good. My husband ordered a small bowl of chicken tortilla soup. The serving was quite large and he said he really liked the soup. Prices were reasonable and our server was kind and attentive. Nothing fancy, but definitely a nice little place if you’ve been driving all day and you just want to walk somewhere quickly to eat.

Went out for lunch with some colleagues at a placed we were referred to. Some really good Tex-Mex and ambience. Service was great, food was delicious, hot and served quickly. Prices were reasonable. A small little hole-in-the-wall place to enjoy. We all got taco salads, for the most part. Definitely would return.

Glad to have found this place on TA. We were pleased by the good flavors of our chicken and beef. Somewhat different - in a good way - from more traditional restaurants, although the menu is similar. Service was good, inside is plain but nice. Portions were adequate but not extravagant.

We stopped in for breakfast on our way to the airport because another place was packed. The empty lot should have been a warning. The positive was the flavor of their specialty taco, the salsa was very tasty as well. The negatives their pancakes tasted like paper, the beans and huevos rancheros were cold. As we're my wife's scrambled eggs and potatoes. We had to flag the server down twice just to get a refill of water.

We were staying across the street at a hotel and decided to go here because it was within walking distance. The food was sort of an average TexMex, but it was convenient and didn't cost too much. I had the Chicken Fajita Salad and my wife had the taco salad. Nothing really too expensive. It's an open room with a hard floor so it quite quite noisy. it was a busy place for a Wednesday evening. If I had transportation available, I would have probably passed it up, but since it was right next door, it was convenient.

We ate here for dinner twice because it was close to our hotel and great reasonably priced food. Highly recommend it if you don’t want to drive out of the immediate area. First time was on a Thursday; they were busy but not packed full. It took a bit too long to get our dinners but luckily we were not in a hurry and the food was great. I got the chicken fajita tacos and they were delicious; highly recommend them! My partner got the enchiladas blancas and he enjoyed them. Second was on a Tuesday and the place only had a couple of other tables occupied so we got our food much quicker this time. I got the ground beef chimichanga and it was excellent. My partner got the tex mex enchilada and it was great too. Our dinners with 2 sodas came to about $32 (w/o tip); a great value!

I'm just going to start by saying... WOW! I was blown away from this place and it's food. The service here is amazing and everyone here is super nice and thoughtful. The waiters joke around and make you feel welcome as well. The best item here is the chips, by far. They are warm and so good!! I loved Javi's Tex Mex and I would totally recommend it to everybody.

Very close to our hotel and better than typical fast-food chain. Happy hour drinks and appetizers. Very good Flautas and margaritas!

Decent breakfast, very good dinners. For those at hotels or living nearby, Javi’s serves a good but not great breakfast. We’ve more often eaten dinner here which is quite good, and a bargain to boot. Chimichanga with quest on top is my favorite!

Very good Tex-Mex dining option. We were there on a Friday evening and it was quite busy. Loved the spicy salsa that went with the complimentary chips. I had enchiladas with ground beef and not the best I have had, in terms of tasteful pop, but satisfying.

Coming from southeast Houston, it's hard to find good Mexican food outside of that area. But this place was delicious! I got regular cheese enchiladas and they were very cheesy. My boyfriend got the burrito which wad huge but had very large chunks of jalapenos in it (we asked for extra but thought they'd at least be chopped). The rice was a littler bland and for togo you have to pay extra for chips and salsa. But good prices and good food is the bottom line.

You can walk across the street from Hampton Inn Airport and a few other hotels nearby – between the Starbucks and Subway. It's not the location or building you'd expect to find good Tex-Mex; but you'll be pleasantly surprise. The service is friendly and great. The chile relleno is fabulous; poblano pepper is just right and correctly prepared with your choice of beef or chicken. I asked for rice and refried beans which you don't want to miss. The home made salsa has a lot of character, just like it's supposed to have; and the chips are nice and warm. Your iced tea will even get a lime.

Breakfast Tacos are amazing! Definitely hits the spot after an overnight shift. The staff is friendly and eager to help with any questions. Pick up to go section definitely makes it fast and easy to get in and out.

This little place is in a small shopping center next door to a Starbucks and close to the Courtyard Austin Airport. The food was authentic Mexican and good. Service was OK, not really slow but not fast either. They were fairly busy with customer's that evening. Overall, clean restaurant with good food and priced affordably.

My wife and I ate here for dinner before a concert and were blown away by how good it was. The salsa was tasty and spicy, the chips thin and not salty or greasy. Our enchiladas (mine the duo and my wife the verde) were outstanding. We added the rice and beans as a side and they too were absolutely delicious. The service was excellent too!

This place was recommended by our hotel clerk, maybe because it was close by. Trip Advisor reviews looked good so we went. I had chicken enchiladas that were just ok. Didn’t get the extra cilantro I requested. My husband wanted beef enchiladas but ended up getting chicken. This is Austin. There are hundreds of places to get Tex-Mex. Find a better one. On a positive note, waitress was pleasant..

Very good food! The sour cream sauce enchiladas are worth a visit! Being so close to the airport makes Javi’s a great layover meal option.

Restaurant was clean and our server was pleasant. Parking is a little tight. The food was decent. The salsa was tasty.

We had great tex mex right before we left Austin. It's in a strip mall and not much ambiance, but excellent food. Crowded for lunch on a Wed, but fast service. The chips were hot and fresh and we loved the food.

Based on a recommendation from an adjacent airport hotel we were very pleased with the dinner we had at Javi's. The food was fantastic and we'll be back again.

This storefront tex-mex restaurant does not wow with its appearance and is easy to miss with its location, but the service and food were excellent and the prices reasonable. Seemed very popular with the locals.

Great tex-mex dishes and margaritas, with top notch service. Location is Ok, in a strip mall. Highly recommended.

I believe this place makes a good chips and salsa, but overall the enchiladas were only a little better than a TV dinner. The guacamole was fair as was the bean dip. The most disappointing was the taco. Please do not use a store bought taco shell, it is embarrassing for Tex Mex! The bartender on the evening I went was far more interested in her texting than on waiting on customers.

Food and Drinks: Top Shelf Margaritas will definately disappoint you. Food is decent, but Not worth the traffic. Environment: The restaurant is clean Staff: Our waitress was just wonderful and attentive.

Found this Tex-Mex restaurant on the internet and it was only about a 1/2 mile from the hotel. Ordered the beef Fajitas for two and was all we could eat and then some. I'm not a drinker but they do have some large Margaritas that other customers were enjoying. Best Tex-Mex food I've had in a long time.

You don’t expect much from air port strip mall food but this place was great and very affordable. Fajitas were terrific.

Very good and friendly service. I had a chicken poblano sandwich which was excellent. Prices reasonable.

The one star is only because I can't give zero. After arriving in Austin we were hungry. This was fairly near our hotel and reviews were really good. Hours said open until 10, so we went. Arrived about 9:35. No one greeted us right away, but when they did, we were told they only do takeout after 9:30. That is completely unacceptable for a sit down restaurant, unless the hours are clearly posted as such (I get it for fast food with later drive thru hours). I don't know if the employees just didn't want to serve us (they actually argued about who was going to greet us), but after traveling all day, we just wanted a sit down meal. Because we wasted time driving there, it was too late to get to any of the other places that closed at 10 pm. Too bad Javi's wasn't interested in making a good impression, as I'm sure it would have been very good.

This place was recommended to us by the front desk clerk at our hotel. It was perfect for what we were looking for, a good meal at a reasonable price. We weren't disappointed. We had chips and Queso for our appetizer. We had the combination fajitas for the meal. Washed it down with a margarita. The only thing is if you don't wear to look you could miss this place.

5 stars all around! We ordered the nachos, and steak tacos, Igor one chicken, 2 steak! My husband ordered the ground beef. When we come to Austin again, we will certainly be back!

The hotel told us this was one of the best tx-mex restaurants but we found the food very average. The most frustrating was that the rice and beans were cold. For me, the chicken enchiladas were way too spicy. Would not eat here again.

After a long day of travel with poor food choices, my wife and I were nearly ready to settle for national-chain fast food mediocrity. Fortunately, just as we were about to reach our hotel, we spotted Javi's, still open after 9:00 p. m. Almost desperately hungry, we started with Salsa & chips. My wife & I agreed that this was some of the best salsa we've ever had -- and the server kept our dish filled. My wife had an enchilada combination plate, and I had a vegetarian chili relleno plate. Both we're excellent and large. The staff was friendly and fast.

Looking for Mexican food to eat on Cinco de Mayo, I found this little gem in a strip mall near the Austin airport. It's a local Mom and Pop restaurant. The restaurant was full of families when I was there, with most speaking Spanish. My server was a bit slow getting to my table initially, but that was understandable given the many full tables. Once she took my order the food emerged from the kitchen with lightning speed. The chips and salsa were very good. Chips were thin and not at all greasy. The salsa was tomato-based and seemed mild at first bite, but was soon followed by some noteworthy heat. I also ordered guacamole which was creamy and flavorful. For my main course I had chicken enchiladas covered in a green mole sauce. In the past I have had chicken with the more common brown mole sauce. The green mole was a nice treat. It had a complexity and richness that paired well with the corn tortillas and chicken. The restaurant serves a selection of margaritas, some other cocktails and beers. I had a local Texas beer and so can't comment on the margaritas. Across the board, it was an excellent meal.

First time diner. Food is well seasoned, Well portioned and priced very well. Service is good. Servers are friendly and willing to help in making decisions. Salsa was the best!

I was flying out the next morning and stopped in for dinner. Food was great and the service was on spot. Great little place that is worth the stop

We were staying next door at the Laquinta Airport and walked over at the suggestion of the clerk. Not disappointed in any way!! The chips were fresh and very very crunchy and salsa was hot flavored! Our plates were big and really good. Great prices too. Happy Hour was going on and the margarita was really frosty and good too. Enjoyed the entire meal and good service too!

After spending the night at the Courtyard by AUS, I wanted to have a nice meal before embarking on our onward journey to FRA via LHR. I checked out several Ethiopian places before but since we had another fantastic meal at Messob in Oakland last night, I didn’t want to chance it. I thought BBQ was next. But again after reviewing menus, as someone raised in the South, I passed. Texas BBQ just isn’t right. Where’s my sliced pork like at Sonny’s? So I looked for Mexican or Tex-Mex. For the most part, I was again disappointed, until I came upon Javi’s. And lo and behold, it is right next to our hotel. I loved the menu! Now for the verdict. The venue is pleasant, nothing special, but certainly solid. The food is decent. No complaints. Carnitas were tender. Salsa was very nice. Tortillas tastes house made. There is a full bar which is fantastic. So I should give this place 4 or 5 stars since I’m generally quite generous. But, alas, no! When I moved from Atlanta to San Francisco in the late 80s, I thought all the waiters were rude. They weren’t. It was just not as effusive as in the South. Fast forward to now. We have lived in The Bay Area, in Germany, In Folsom by Sacramento, in New England (by Hartford, often traveling to NYC and Long Island), and now on the Central California Coast. As a foodie I go to many restaurants. Service is very important to me. Here at Javi’s the service is lackluster. I asked about their margaritas. No upsell available. Just a house. Ordered one without salt. Bar tender brought it with salt. When I mentioned it, just a shrug. No offer to change. I later ordered another one sin sal. Great. More tequila in it as is usually the case on seconds. Since we are wasting time to get to the the airport once our check in is open, we are hanging out ordering more drinks. Waitstaff should be excited. More tips. But no. Just more bored staff. Really? Texas is supposed to have warm, friendly folks. Mexicans are so much fun. So what’s happening here?

Great Tex Mex food. Salsa was great as were the enchiladas that I had. Wife had the Chicken tacos and she enjoyed them as well. Price was good for what you got

The locals said this place was good for Tex-Mex and they were right! I walked in and the noise level for a Wednesday night was pretty loud and it was only half full. The ceilings are high and the strip mall like location did not help, so I ordered take-out which is done at the small bar in the back. Friendly staff, quick service and chips and salsa to die for!!! I ordered the two item taco/enchilada plate that is on the lunch menu. Any lunch menu item can be served at dinner for an extra $1.25 ($8 vs. $6.75 at lunch). The beef was a tangy seasoned ground beef which is tasty, but different than the Mexican we get in SoCal. Again, the food is tasty and portions are generous but I would not say it is the best I ever had. Maybe a 7 out of 10? I noticed that the Happy Hour was from 5:30 to 7:30 which provided .50 cents off an already cheap $4 beer (now $3.50). Frozen margaritas were $3.75 on Happy Hour vs. the normal $4.50. You can't go wrong with one of these while you wait for your food.

The restaurant was recommended by the driver from out hotel just across the street. And he was right, this food is good! It’s our first introduction to texmex and we were not disappointed at all. The service was fast, friendly staff and it was busy even on a weekday early evening. We ordered trio combo fajitas which had more meat than tortilla’s and I was full after four already and we had soft tacos with minced/ground beef my other half normally doesn’t mind to share but not in this occasion. This restaurant is located 7 min from Austin International Airport.

The Margarita's were very good and accompanying complementary Chips & Dips were delicious. Fresh made (warm) chips were exceptionally tasty. The food was good. Variety of vegetarian options made it an excellent spot for our family. Excellent veggie enchalada's and burritos. The combo fajitas were great too. The wait staff need to learn to make eye contact as they missed out on additional margarita orders. They seemed focused on one table when serving and back to the kitchen. Look up and see how other patrons are doing. Eye contact and checking-in from time to time would make your tip bigger and the ticket even bigger!

Traveling for business I stopped in for a quick evening meal. Wow, excellent for and great wait staff. Everyone seemed to enjoy the jumbo margaritas. Unfortunately I couldn't as I had to drive. Anyway, they had a full bar and excellent menu selection. The fajitas were very good and some of the freshest, tastiest corn tortillas I've experienced. Close to the airport, if your just landing and want a quick bite.

I ordered the chicken fajita tacos and the portion was generous. Very tasty indeed. Before the main course came, they served a generous portion of tortilla chips which was the best I ever eaten, thinly sliced and fresh with delicious salsa with a hint of spice. The waitress that served me was very friendly too. All in all a good experience!

I had the beef fajitas for one. It was mediocre at best. The meat was chewy and had an odd flavor. It was just not very good. On the plus side , the staff were friendly. I went to the restaurant because it was close to the hotel and had decent reviews. I won’t be going back

Very nice ambience and colorful, food is good except i don't really like the cheese sauce.. but that is just my preference. Flavours were good, guacamole too pasty for my taste i like more chunky. Chips were good and fresh, salsa was nice with a touch of spicy. Good if you are around. Tres leches was nicely done and very moist excellent flavour!!

After settling into my hotel I took a walk around the general area and stumbled upon Javis Tex Mex. I sat at the bar and a local was fueling up before taking home dinner via take-out. He spoke very highly of the food, so I decided to stay for dinner. Cocktails were served with fresh, hot tortilla chips and spicy salsa (home made). I ended up ordering the Taco Salad which came with fresh grilled steak and chicken. Both were cooked perfectly and properly seasoned. I ordered some chipotle ranch dressing which was very tasty. The atmosphere is very informal, the service was excellent. I would go back

First impression was the home made hot sauce, learned they make it 2x fresh daily. The margarita was quite tasty too. Highly recommend chicken stuffed Chili Relleno w their home made tomatillo sauce, fabulous! Tacos poblano was very good too. All home made. In short strip mall btw Starbucks and Subway. Definitely give them a try. The friendly smiles of the servers was welcoming.

Based on other TripAdvisor reviews, we decided to try Javi’s as it was with walking distance to our hotel. The staff was super friendly, and the food was really good. I had the spinach enchiladas & enjoyed every bite. They also had really good chips & salsa. I would definitely eat hear again.

Decent food, resonable prices, friendly wait staff. Very close to the Courtyard Marriott that we were staying in.

Super service from a friendly staff. Everything we had was fresh and had a lot of flavor. My large margarita could have been a little stronger but it was good. Recommend.

Great drinks, wine list was scant, food was really delicious. The service was very as good as far as getting the menu, taking my order and bringing the food. I asked for no onions and there were onions everywhere. Fortunately, I could scrape off and put them on another plate. I asked for hot water after my meal and they were very gracious about bringing it and giving me a to go cup for it. If you do not have any food restrictions I would highly recommend. If you have food restrictions I would be very clear and make your choice wisely. The menu didn't mention that my dish came in sauce so I wasn't prepared to ask for sauce on the side. The sauce was amazing so I by scraping off I was able to taste the sauce and avoid the onions.

Clean restraunt. Looks like a full bar, I didn't order anything to drink but the margaritas looked good. Had carnitas burrito, they had green sauce on them. Pretty yummy.

If you are in the airport area looking for something slightly out of the ordinary, this is it! Good food, good service, busy, screaming babies, everything. Good Margarita, chips & salsa are good too. why not? they have the game on too.

Very close to hotel. Got great reviews so decided to give them a try. Ordered 3 taco plate. They let me get 2 crispy and one soft shell corn. All ground beef. Free chips/salsa. Salsa was very tasty. Could have had a little more kick, but good stuff.

Javi's was a really nice find and is ten minutes from downtown Austin. The complimentary chips and salsa were very addicting. I ordered the Beef Fajitas and my wife ordered the Three Cheese Enchiladas. We both really enjoyed our meals and it was super reasonable with very nice portions.

Haven’t gotten food yet, but it took 15 minutes to get a waitress. 25 minutes total to get our drinks. Service is beyond terrible. Don’t care how good the food is. On top of that the waitress was surly.

We visited Austin from out of the State and when in Texas always want its great Mexican food. Javi's fit the bill. Food was super. Wait staff was very good. The restaurant is basic, no frills, but food makes it worth it. I give it a 4.5

When we asked our hotel shuttle driver for restaurant recommendations, he suggested Javi's. We walked over from the hotel around 8pm on a Thursday evening. The little establishment was bustling with activity, but we were seated right away, and given prompt & attentive service. Great variety of Margaritas, including several choices of peppery flavor. We shared La Banderas, a trio of enchiladas that were full of flavor. They have a large menu and prices are reasonable. Not a fancy place, but great service and good food.

The best meal we had in Austin. Casual environment--store front. Evidently quite popular with locals. Food was very tasty, well-prepared. Prompt and friendly service.

A short walk from lots of airport hotels. Service was excellent, food were huge portions. We split a shrimp fajita platter for one and could not finish. I scanned other diners and observed their large portions also. Full bar! We arrived at 6 pm, by 6:30 it was almost full. Very Casual. Next week we will try their breakfast.

Camped at McKinney Falls near Austin. Visit with friends who live in Austin in our very small camper. Perfect night for a meal out. Randy and Sandy did a search on line for nearby establishments. Since not their area of town, a chance for all four of us to explore. Javi’s is family owned and not part of a franchise so met two of our criteria for the evening. Nice modern building shared with a Starbucks. Casual attire was apparent. Good thing since we all were ready for that. First surprise was our waitress, Blanca. Bubbly and perky comes to mind, especially at the end of a long day. Immediately picked up on the idea that we wanted to practice our Spanish (ranging from fluent to adequate). She explained some finer points of the menu offerings. Laughed at my jokes and language faux pas (the laugh was infectious). I mentioned that I had cousins in Chiappas and an uncle that discovered the Late Classic ruins at Bonampak. When Blanca came back with our drinks, she had a picture of Carlos Frey on her phone and a bunch of questions about Bonampak. Ok, back to the meal. Jeanne got the chili rellenos with poblano sauce. Claims it was the best she has ever had (and she is not a novice traveler or foodie). My trio fajitas was excellent and a great way to explore that portion of their menu. As she warned me, a rather large serving. Became a major portion of camp breakfast this morning! Just a wonderful experience a night out for four old friends. Mil gracias Javi’s Best of Tex-Mex Jeanne & Gil & Sandy & Randy The Grey Gourmets plus two

Really wasn’t expecting much on a quick stop before dropping a friend at the airport. Well, it was a pleasant surprise. The chili con queso was really good, as well as the salsa along with tortilla chips. Enchilada Verde is one of my favorites, and they did not disappoint. Very good food. Satisfying and filling. Glad we happened on the place. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Food was reasonably priced n came out quickly.

Vacation to Austin to see 2 presidential libraries. Found this through the steak listing on Trip Adviser. What a find! During our 8 day stay visited Javi's 5 times! Excellent food. A great staff, all of them very friendly and attentive. Nancy at the bar was especially friendly, went one evening just to have some margarita's. The fajitas are to die for. Great food and service

We stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott and Javi's is within a short walk. We were very glad we went to this restaurant. Everything we had to eat was very good, which included chips, salsa and cheese sauce, chicken tortilla soup (yum), chicken fajita, and a very delicious shrimp fajita. Most guests on the Saturday night we were there seemed to be locals and many were watching the Texas football game.

Holy Tex-Mex. This is the real deal. Anywhere else up North are just pretenders. What a fantastic menu. Sweet tea, homemade guacamole and chips and great soft corn tacos. Outstanding.

Visited for lunch by myself, it was near the hotel. I ordered tacos chavas, not good. The meat was tough and there was some type of sauce on it that had an off putting flavor. The salsa is good, but spicy. The waiter didn't bring my check before I was ready to leave and he was standing a few feet away talking to some other staff members.

I tried this place based on previous reviews and the fact I was staying at the Hampton Inn which is right behind the restaurant. I was assuredly not disappointed! t was a big race weekend at COTA and Javi's was slammed but every employee I saw kept a smile and service didn't miss a beat despite the influx of people. The food? My partner and I shared the shrimp fajitas for two. Amazing! Enormous shrimp cooked in a sauce I wish I could duplicate. Oh, and the free chips and salsa? Amazing as well. I'll for sure hit Javi's up again if I find myself back in the area.

We were at an airport hotel and the places near us were closed (not too promising either) so we quickly googled tex-mex close by. We arrived into a very tight parking lot next to a Starbucks drive through. We were seated almost immediately. There were lots of choices and we all went with something different and all of us were very happy. The tortilla chips and salsa were wonderful and refilled quickly. The server (all) were friendly and stayed on top of refills and anything needed.

When we asked about a place to eat close to the Marriott Courtyard Austin Airport, we were told that Javi's was the place. It was an easy 5 minute walk. We ended up visiting three times, once for lunch and twice for breakfast. Food was excellent and staff was outstanding. Price was just right.

The food, service, and atmosphere were outstanding. I was seated, waited on, checked on, and re-checked on within my time there. The food was good as well. The place has a great ambiance.

As a native Texan who doesn't get to eat tex-mex that often in the north, I read good reviews about this place on a popular website and decided to try it. Extremely convenient to the airport hotel district, although difficult to get back to those hotels if you miss your turn. Pleasant atmosphere for a solo business traveler - plenty of other diners were obviously staying at hotels nearby. Had absolutely great service - waitress was very attentive and brought my food, refills and check promptly. Food itself was just average; nothing special about the rice and beans, although enchiladas were decent. I would likely come here again, just because of the convenient location and the fantastic service, but if you're craving good tex-mex because you live out-of-state, you'll probably want to try someplace else.

We happened on this place by chance and are now hoping to return again! The fish taco and the beef fajitas were probably the best we’ve had. The salsa is hot in a good way and the guacamole fresh and perfect.

I love going to locally owned restaurants, especially Mexican restaurants. The chips at this place are the absolute best! Thin and light. The salsa very good too. We did order some con queso as well, gobbled it down with a second basket of chips. I had the chicken burritos. Two medium size, with a red sauce on top. Excellent entrée. Folks, if you are near the airport, this is a spot you should try.

Winter hobbies for the first time on a business trip based on many of the positive reviews. Like many have said it is really good food good drinks and convenient location to the airport so we didn't have to fight Austin traffic. I would definitely recommend this place and I will be going again.

Surprising little place in a strip shop. Ordered a single order of chicken fajitas which my husband and I shared and couldn’t finish it all there was so much food! Husband claimed it was the best chicken he’d ever had in a fajita.

We ended up going there multiple nights in a row and almost went a third time. Enchilada blanca was my favourite with the house margarita. My wife loved the taco salad and chimichanga. Will definitely visit again. Had great service with a big smile from Jessica.

Javi's is a really good Mexican restaurant. It is small but offers a really wide array of menu selections. They have very good margaritas. It is in a small retail center but don't let the outside appearance deter you from eating here. Staff was very friendly.

While on a business trip I found Javi's was within walking distance, so I decided to try it, and I wasn't disappointed. The cheese chili relleno was so good. It had a tomatillo sauce on it, which was amazing. The sauce was a nice change to the typical ranchero sauce. It came with rice & refried beans. Their chips & salsa wwre good, and the queso was good at first, but as it cooled off it got super thick. The service was good.
Nice, cozy little restaurant
It was crowded but I did not wait long for a table. The menu offers the typical fare of Tex-Mex and believe me, they do it right. It appears to be a family-owned establishment. Friendly wait staff.
