Our friends took us to Javier's because it's one of their favorite restaurants, and we could see why. The atmosphere is lovely, and the food and drinks were delicious. The service was excellent. The manager came over to make sure we were having a wonderful time. We highly recommend Javier's.

To get the negative out of the way.... I went with my family, including my one- month-old grandson. We were told that strollers are not permitted in the restaurant. Assuming that the issue was one of ensuring easy movement between tables, we said we were happy to sit outside. We were then told that no strollers were permitted outside either!!!! After some discussion and explanation that a one-month-old is not capable of sitting in a high chair (their recommendation - have they never seen an infant?), we were allowed to detach the upper part of the stroller and bring it to the table, while they stowed the bottom part with wheels - very peculiar. Now on to the happy part....The restaurant is lovely and a very pleasant place to enjoy a meal. Our server was excellent, efficient and very kind and patient (some members of my family don't speak English well). The salsa and guacamole were absolutely FANTASTIC. I might have licked the bowls, but my mother taught me manners! Our fish tacos were only okay, but we spooned some salsa over them, significantly improving them. My margarita was refreshing and not overly sweet. Except for the unpleasantness concerning our stroller, our experience was very, very good. I'll be fantasizing about their salsa and guacamole for some time to come.

Had our Valentine’s dinner here. Service was excellent, food was excellent, ambience was excellent. Music was a little loud, but aside from that, we loved everything about it and will certainly be going back.

I am Mexican American, first generation, so I grew up eating Mexican food daily. I live in a predominantly Mexican American community hence we have our pick of the litter. Yet Javier’s knows how to serve it up. My fav dish is enchiladas suizas and they so nail it. They use cojita queso with crema to top the enchiladas and they saute the chicken to perfection. But the most important ingredient is the tomatillo sauce and it is the best. Heat and a tad a acidity. Sooo good. I think they add canned milk to the beans as they are very light in color and rich in flavor. The Mexican rice is not authentic which surprised me...heavy on the tomato sauce. The Casa margarita is a perfect pairing. The taquito appetizer rocked. And our server Julio was charming and on top of his game. And most importantly the food was piping HOT!

Went here on a weekday late afternoon and dined at the bar. Chips and salsa were served the moment I sat down and chips were fresh, warm, and tasty, and salsa was HOT! Margaritas were delicious and potent. Had the taquitos and they were delicious and served in a unique and pleasing manner. Service was attentive. Pricey. Watching the clientele was well worth the cost as people seemed to be right off from a movie set or wishing they were. Fun and entertaining experience.

The food has a mass-produced taste, as if everything came from a generic grocery store. Queso Fundido was a huge disappointment as it was basically a bowl of melted jack cheese with an olive on top. No "flavor" to it whatsoever. You could get away with this charging $4.99 at a vinyl seat eatery but here, $15 should buy you some authenticity. Way overpriced. Setting is cool and service is attentive but not worth it.

Wow, not familiar with Mexican cuisine, but our fabulous waiter eased us into a brilliant meal. Recommended different margaritas for my husband. And carefully explained the menu. Chopped salad was good. The prawn dish I had was brilliant, in fact the prawns were probably the best I have ever eaten. My husband had Lobster and Dungeness Crab Enchiladas, and that too, was excellent. Wished we had time to return. It was a truly great meal.

After dealing with months of depression my best friend convinced me to come out tonight and she brought me to Javier's. We asked to be seated outside because we had dogs with us but the hostess refused and sat us inside. Then, the manager comes up to us and tells us we'll be asked to leave if our dogs continue to make noise. I reminded them that I asked to be seated outside and when I went to the manager, ERNESTO MONTES, he refused to hear my concern and KICKED US OUT OF THE RESTAURANT. I had a full blown panic attack after this. Honestly, it is CRAZY to me that there are such horrible people working in the hospitality industry. I have never experienced anything like this in my life. I've already contacted corporate and my attorneys.

This is the most beautiful restaurant I have ever been in. I would suggest that you go here, even if you don’t like Mexican food, just to see it and have a drink. The food is good too. There is a haddock and spicy veg dish, for those that don’t like tacos or burritos.

I love the look and feel for the restaurant... very fun/festive/unique/ inviting... Our service has been just FAIR...and food good.. but slightly over priced... Fun for a bday party or to take out of town guests.

I have dined here twice and this restaurant lived up to my expectations. It’s great food, really great food. Price is fair and the staff is prompt , friendly and helpful. Would go back more of I lived closer.

Spent over $2000 here for a group (PAID CASH). Reserved a private room on 11/18/23, Armida the restaurant manager did not have the decency to call after several emails were sent to her for follow up. DO NOT SPEND CASH HERE, so you can make a LEGITIMATE COMPLAINT to your credit card company if you have to. When someone spends this kind of money it is common courtesy to call any guest who has an issue. We paid for servers and issued a large tip. Our waiter's disappeared for long periods of time. We had to go outside of the private room numerous times for them to take the orders. The manager Arminda was not the most responsive when it came to sending over any of the information requested in order to book the room (the first red flag). Luis another person who identified as a manager was very rude and over the top with his attitude (I mean over the top). The bottom line is Mark Post the owner, needs to be aware of the customer service and the reviews on every posting site. He should let go of any performers who bring down the business. We will make certain not to ever come back here again. PLEASE KNOW, there are many other things to be said about this place, but we don't have the time to write a book. Next step here is to connect with the owner regarding these issues. They are getting a 2 from us because of one-person out of the group made an attempt to be respectful and personable.

Keeping it short and sweet. $800is for 6 adult and 3 kids (5 and 6 years old) It’s our first time here, the food was served beautiful but was not good at all. The restaurant has stroller policy, we have to keep the stroller by the reception. so it was hard for us to carry our 5months old baby while eating. our server was nice and attentive.

Excellent meal and gracious service. We were eating with our son, daughter-in-law and their almost two year old. Service was quick and accommodating. I has the Enchiladas Sonora, and my wife had two cheese enchiladas. We split the Javier Salad. We also ordered the churros and Mexican cornbread top notch.

My girlfriend and I were lucky to have the first Saturday (10/28) lunch service at the newly opened Javier’s at the Century City Westfield Shopping Center. This location, in my opinion, is the most beautiful (I’ve dined at Crystal Cove/Newport and Irvine) and the food and service were outstanding! We had a lovely booth on the patio with a view toward the interior and bar. The bar is large and canopied with a massive rope effect. Our waiter, Rigo, was FANTASTIC! He made sure that our experience was perfect and was very knowledgeable of the drink, food and desert menus. Although reservations are not necessary, I would be sure to make one as Javier’s is always packed. As a side note, the Ladies Room was visually interesting.

The first thing that has to be said is that, judging by our experience, this large-scale restaurant is very popular. Our booking was for 7.00 on a pre-Christmas Saturday evening and it was very busy, although the industrious staff turned the tables over quickly. If fact, our party of four had to hang around the check-in desk for fifteen minutes until 7.15 for a table to be cleared despite our reservation. The scale was striking, starting with the immense car park under the large mall in which it was situated. Moreover once inside, Javiers was clean and light. The staff worked hard and the food was satisfactory, although it was clearly not "fine-dining". The portion sizes for the three of us who ordered Taco based meals were large but the fourth (Camerones Mojo with more expensive ingredients) was much more modest and had to be accompanied by a share of a Taco. As we eschewed alcohol the bill was not stratospheric.

My friend specifically ordered a "mild" pico de gallo as she has been doing for many years at the Javiers in Newport Beach. When she ate it, her mouth was on fire. She was choking and her tongue and lips visibly swelled. Two different managers came to the table. The first offered to call 911, but my friend did not want to make a scene. She just told them that someone must have given us the hot version by mistake. Both managers argued with her saying that is just way Javier's serves it. She said she'd eaten it at the Javier's many times and it was perfectly mild. The second manager said it was just too bad, with nose in the air, turned his back to her, and walked away. No offer to bring another salsa, a drink or to remove anything from the bill. I wished I could have shoved some of that salsa down his throat. We are locals but will never return again, and will make sure all of our friends know the customer comes last at this arrogant establishment. Parking is impossible so we used the valet, costing a fortune. Between my spouse and me, we have half a million readers on Trip Advisor. I hope this review helps all of you avoid this place. Mexican restaurants are a dime a dozen in LA, and I'd be happy to name 10 better ones where the management actually cares and prices, food and service are better.

We had the Sabor a Provincia with margaritas and everything was delicious! Enjoyed the quick service and attentive waitress who regularly checked in on us. The booth facing the bar was a great location to feel the air flowing in from outside. I love the design of the place and highly recommend for friend groups, dates, and business happy hour with colleagues.

The place has average food, good ambiance. I have never paid 18 dollars for a piece of chicken without sides. I guess they have a lot of rent to pay.

Shocking .. booked for 7pm arrived at 7pm waited until 720pm told still 3 customer ahead of us … rank poor attitude also very dismissive and a real bad atmosphere …

If you haven't eaten at Javier's in Crystal Cover near NewPort Beach do so, Its awesome, but unfortunately Javier's Century City has grand opening pains. I say pain because a guest of ours suffered that last evening after getting served something extremely hot after placing an order for a mild sauce. The worst part of the experience was that the two managers were disrespectful and unconcerned, one turned his back on the customer. Lastly, parking there is very expensive and it takes way to long to get your car out of Valet. Wait a few months before trying this location unless you like pain and nasty treatment.

This isn't going to be your every friday place but for a nice night out and you want good mexican...this place is great. Plates are small so you definitely need to do an appetizer and main. So a little on the pricey side but the ambiance and quality of the food well worth it.

Unprofessional way of dealing with customers. Starting with the manager and specifically in Irvine spectrum branch. Too bad in didn’t take his name, he was wearing a light suit, all the other staff were wearing black. They refused to give us the table, that was supposed to be ours, cos I wasn’t standing next to my husband, I was inside the restaurant, in the washroom. It took me 2 min to get back. What a service ! We informed the manager that we will mention it on TripAdvisor. All what he said was “have a great day sir” and he turned away… What a service !!!

I understand from other reviews that there are other Javier's locations but this was my first time to visit any of them. Good food with a definite West Coast spin (I grew up with Tex Mex). Great atmosphere at the open-air mall. Prices seem to be typical for LA.

The ambiance of the place is really nice but the food lacked flavor, the drinks were great. Not a bad option if you are out of them.

This restaurant is lousy from the greeting of the hostess to the perfunctory service. The short rib had to go back because it was too tough. The replacement chicken in mole was dry. The big taco platter our friends ordered for $70. 00 looked disgusting and was a rip-off. The menu is seriously overpriced for what you get. The sides have no imagination and don’t seem to vary. The black beans in broth are an insult to Mexican cuisine. Even the Margaritas were a disappointment. Won’t be back. Very, very poor restaurant.

We've come here twice. It's usually always crowded so make sure you have a reservation in place. We walked in a few times and there was no room at the Bar, outside or anywhere. The wait was 1.5 hours. Even with a reservation, you will have to wait a bit. They give you a handheld buzzer to alert you when ready. The food is fresh & delish. The ingredients can be tasted and the presentation is super. If you want to have cocktails be ready for the major $$$ bump in your check. We feel the bar bill is way over priced compared to other restaurants in LA. Even more than some very upscale places we frequent. My wife's Grey Goose Cosmo was $24 and she enjoyed 2. Outrageous! Food prices can be high too where some signature dishes are north of $50. Be prepared to exit with a check of close to $200. The experience is overall very nice and service is attentive. We may return but will have our cocktails elsewhere.

I went here for my birthday back in July and it was fabulous! We got this huge fajita platter for the table and then I don’t know what my other two friends ordered. Us four ladies shared the fajita platter. And then I got a little cake or ice cream for my birthday, but I also got churros. The churros here are so good! The food here was fabulous! I’ve been to the Javier’s in Vegas and I like that one as well. The one in Vegas has a little better decor, but this one still has some good decorations. Service was amazing, especially because we were there awhile so hats off to the server! I can’t wait to come back again.

We have been there several times and it is wonderful. We are original from Mexico and the dishes we have tried are very authentic. The service has also been wonderful, the managers also have come and check that all is ok. We recommend very much the carnitas, mole enchiladas, Tampiquena, etc. We will be back many times. My only complain is that they don't take reservations for 2 only 3 and up and I hope they change this because it prevents us from going more often.

The food is good. Not a high quality Mexican food, I would say B-. The service just OK. Not very cozy or enjoyable place.

Came here as was craving for good Mexican food and indeed it was an absolute pleasure. The moment you enter, you are just stilled by the absolute beauty of its interiors with dim illumination and everything spot on. They have a nice selection of appetizers to choose from along with fish and meat. We ordered ceviche trio and it was just amazing with every bite so delicious and nicely presented. Bartenders Adanna and Jose were awesome and prepared nice drinks suiting our palate. The ambiance is just beautiful with fire pits around to soothe your mood. The waiters were also nice and attentive making sure you enjoy your whole experience of dining there. Overall service was outstanding and the interiors are ten-on-ten. It was a cool atmosphere and definitely will come for more drinks.

The food was delicious and portions large! Excellent service and decent prices for the amount of food.

We had the worst experience here yesterday! Manager who spoke to us "GRACIELA" was not helpful whatsoever and had no consideration for her guests. We arrived to celebrate my brother in laws graduation and going back home lunch. My in laws traveled from Seattle to visit us in LA. They love to go to Javiers and we usually go to the location in new port. But after yesterday we will never come back. We felt so humiliated and disrespected by the staff. Our reservation was at 3:30pm we arrived and there was less than 10 tables in the whole restaurant we sat near the BACK of the restaurant and ordered cocktails, chips & guac for the table. My 8 month old son started to get sleepy and he went down for his 4pm nap. My husband went down to valet to grab the stroller out of the car and walked back up the hosts greeted him normally. I laid my sleeping baby in the stroller and put him off to the side (AGAIN THERE WAS NOT ONE TABLE SAT NEAR US) and a supervisor or such came over about 10 min later and told me they have a no stroller policy this needs to be removed. I said my baby is asleep he's not bothering anyone WTF? He said I can lay him down on the booth, THE DIRTY BOOTH where people sit their butts on and where he can roll off easily.... Said no im uncomfortable with that. He said okay ill go talk to the manager... she comes out to tell me the same thing. I ask her why do you have this policy? She said she has no idea why she just works here and follows the rules? Okay I explained, Im assuming strollers could be a hazard for servers at night when its busy and tables are sat everywhere maybe, its the aesthetic but NOT when its dead?? Like seriously use discretion and make a decision that is for the GUEST. We had already ordered our food our bill was easily over 600$ !!!! and she told me if i didn't get rid of the stroller she would not serve me. So we decided to WALK OUT still paid 85$ for drinks and chips. She mentioned i could either hold my baby or put him in the high chair .... HES ASLEEP like, come on man. This is unacceptable. I used to manage a high-end steak house restaurant in Santa Monica on the water so I understand and respect policies but we were NEVER told we could not have strollers, it wasn't on any menus, the host didn't even say anything to my husband as he rolled it inside? There was no one to be bothered by the stroller... and you just let a party walk out and miss out on $$ for your restaurant and server ...when its already dead... FOR NO REASON?! THAT YOU DONT KNOW WHY THE POLICY EXISTS?? WE WILL NEVER BE BACK THIS PLACE IS NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY GRACIELA AND MANAGEMENT NEED TO BE FIRED/RE-TRAINED DISCRETION FOR APPROPRIATE USE OF POLICY SOMEONE ELSE HAD A NEGATIVE REVIEW SIMILAR TO OUR EXPERIENCE YESTERDAY AS WELL? WHAT DOES THIS TELL YOU ?

A pretty decent Mexican restaurant right on the Westfield shopping center in Century City. Great space with an amazing indoor/outdoor flow that really makes it feel like you’re eating outdoors even when seated inside the core of the restaurant. The menu keeps going on and on with options to choose from, and all the food looked really good as it was passing. Enchiladas were solid, and good portion to not leave you feeling hungry. The guacamole was just okay… lacked any flavor or heat. But otherwise, solid place for good food and good drinks.

If you are looking for really good, authentic Mexican food, in the Century City area, Javier's is the place. Good ambiance, friendly & good service, really good food, and great margaritas. Went there for lunch and was very pleased. Have eaten at Javier's in Newport Beach, so weren't sure, but we had same really good food and great margaritas. Highly recommend!

Went to Javier's on a Saturday night Bar scene was nice. Very good drinks(solid pour). Staff from host to servers were polite and attentive. Food is legit I'm a foodie. So would recommend for couples are fellas night out. Even good for families that have well behaved children.

I have been to Javier's in Irvine and Crystal Cove, and I have had great experiences. However, after coming to the Century City location, I was very disappointed. Javier's CC is in the Westfield shopping center facing Santa Monica Blvd. We ordered jalapeno margaritas ($16/each) to start. For our entrees, we ordered two enchiladas ($34 - shrimp & crab, inc rice & beans), and the trio of enchiladas ($40 - lobster, crab & shrimp, no rice & beans). First of all, the margaritas were like El Torito that uses margarita mix off the shelf. In addition, they weren't spicy and did not have much alcohol. Toca Madera's Amante Picante blows Javier's weak version away, and they are half the price during HH: 2 Stars. Likewise, the food was mediocre and ridiculously overpriced. My enchiladas were nothing special and didn't include rice & beans. I could barely taste the seafood in the enchiladas. I tried the rice & beans and they were bland: 2 Stars mainly due to the high prices. Regarding the ambiance, its nice in here. Its aire libre, the ceilings are high, the tables have a lot of room between them, and you can carry on a convo: 4 Stars. On the other hand, the service was not up to par. Firstly, I was not offered chips & salsa at the bar while I was waiting for my friend. Every other patron at the bar was given chips & salsa except me. Secondarily, our waiter Valentin disappeared after he dropped off our drinks. The food came out quickly after we ordered, but there was a lull of 10 minutes or so before he returned to take our order. Other examples of lack of customer service include a waitstaff bumping into me and not apologizing. I apologized to him, and he didn't say a word. Lastly, the valet in the bathroom is worthless. He wants a tip, but he doesn't even dispense soap into your hands. Sorry, I don't need someone to hand me a towel: 2 Stars overall on service. Do yourself a favor and go to Toca Madera vs Javier's CC. The food and service are way better!

a little piece of Mexico in the hustle and bustle of century city westfield , obsessed with the interior of the location and always have best service in the back bar with Jose ! a little secret is the YUM chef’s sauce (HABANERO)

We have been here many times. We love the food and the people. We arrived 2 couples, the other couple had never been there and we being Mexican wanted to showcase how good this restaurant is. With reservation they told us that it would be an hour to be seated. I asked for Omar who is one of the owners and managers and they played dumb, we waited 10 minutes for him, he never came and we left. What a pity for such a good restaurant to fail in this. Now we are afraid to make a reservation and go because we have read this is common. If they fix it we will be back, if not very sadly we will pass. Omar please fix this.

I was sitting at a table at the Century City location and witnessed the general manager get in the face of TWO different men. He was cursing and seemed incoherent. He was shouting and completely ruined our dining experience. Regardless of how rude a customer it, it is the general manager's job to handle the situation calmly and effectively. I have NEVER seen such terrible customer service. He was completely unhinged and has no business being in the restaurant industry.

I do not understand where the good reviews and hype are from. Came here to celebrate my birthday tonight and that was huge mistake. The margaritas were the worst I’ve ever had; and for $20 at that! Tasted watered down and barely contained any alcohol. We all ended up not even finishing them and ordered shots and patron on ice instead. The food was awful. No one in my party enjoyed anything they ordered. The queso fundido was just melted mozzarella topped with one dry olive and one small chili on a plate; completely unable to scoop or eat. It was in the form of a cold, cheese pancake when it hit the table. I had to saw a piece of cheese off just to taste it. It was disgusting. We sent it back and our server made sure we knew he was annoyed by the fact we were dissatisfied. Rushed us through our dinner and replacement drink orders; my In-law had to ask him to wait multiple times. He then later dropped our drinks off with an intentional attitude making no eye contact nor speaking to us. We ordered enchiladas, sopes, and the tacos de hongos— ALL BLAND and unflavorful. The only exception was the damn complimentary salsa and the slight good flavor the sauce on the enchiladas had. The food was not hot nor warm. Not worth any amount of money. What a waste of a birthday dinner. What a disappointment. What an unenjoyable experience. I will never be returning here. I recommend and warn others the same— this place is trash with bad service and a pretty aesthetic. UPDATE 9/22— I have been sick to my stomach all day from the food. My sister tried to call and speak to a manager about the situation. She spoke to someone named Luis. He yelled at her, wouldn’t let her speak, and did nothing about the situation, gave her a fake number to escalate to a higher up, then hung up on her. Spent $300 for horrid food, service, and food poisoning. 0 stars if I could. This place is disgusting in every way.

This is a nice restaurant on the edge of an upscale mall. The food is good, and so too was my jalapeño margarita. Service was a bit disorganized, but the overall experience was still positive.

We LOVE Javiers in Laguna/now Newport Beach so we were excited to see it opened here in LA. The food was mostly good; but they overcooked my husband's porkchop and we were done with our dinner before they brought a correct one for him. And otherwise the Service was TERRIBLE. Ex. they brought the wrong food and after we were told we wouldn't be charged we were charged anyway; had to ask for things 4x before we got them; even requests to the manager didn't get us the items ordered. The manager didn't seem to really care either. We will not go back to this location. They don't have their act together.

Okay I have been to Javier’s a dozen times. Maybe an off day. But we had the worse meal ever. Chips were cold and rotten. The shrimp had bad bacteria tThan I ordered chicken toco’s The chicken was hard and stringy. Not sure if I will return for that money. The food USE to be great. Even the woman at the valet parking told me people were complaining Try at your own risk. Drinks good

Javier’s is the new hip, happening and must experience upscale Mexican fare in LA. While they are still working through new employee issues, the food is excellent and the wait staff is highly attentive. Well poured drinks also don’t hurt. Chips and salsa great. Guacamole was pretty good although not made table side. Enchiladas Suisas were delicious as were the tacquitos. The vibe is loud and cool. Not your traditional Mexican restaurant. Highly Recommended but do not attempt to walk in without a reservation on the weekend. The wait can be 3 hours....

Very disappointing experience. Although our food and waiter were good, disruptions by an extremely large party that occurred right near our table and throughout our time there, along with how very poorly management handled the situation, ruined what was expected to be a special occasion dinner. Due to management's inability to control guests causing disruption I left my phone number asking that whoever supervises that management staff call me to further discuss. I was told that other then the owner and his son, the floor managers hold highest positions. I still left my phone number and was told Omar Sosa (owner's son) would call me since Omar does not have an office phone, email or supposedly any way of being reach by a customer in regards to any of his family's very reputable and popular restaurants. To add insult to injury, four days have passed and no one from Javier's has had the courtesy of contacting me. It is extremely easy to find good food and stylish restaurant decor living in or when visiting Los Angeles. Spend your time and money somewhere that you'll be appreciated and well taken care of. Javier's has proved undeserving.

I’ve been to this location a few times now and it can’t hold a candle to the Newport/Laguna location. This location is loud, food & drinks are expensive and mediocre and the crowd is sketchy for this location. They play a mix of Mexican and rap music?!?! It would be good for a large party but stay away and save your money if your looking for a nice casual dinner.

When it first opened was nice. Nice vibe. Nice crowd. Food is good - a bit overpriced. Lately, it has just gotten to be a rowdy place and not nice at all. There was a shooting there the other day. Better places to go with better people.

Went late afternoon when it wasn’t crowded like later. The chicken enchiladas with mole were very good and my friend had a combination plate that he said was also good. The tres leches was different but really good.It is beautifully decorated but very large so it could get noisy. While you can get Mexican cheaper, at $50 a person we felt we got value.

Pretty authentic as Mexican restaurants in LA go. Good location if you are in the Westfield Century City mall. Good food, nice ambiance, good service. Good margaritas! Had chili relleno, tacos and enchillada and all good! Very pleasant lunch

The food is unquestionably far better than your typical Mexican restaurant. Everything was fresh, cooked perfectly and spiced brilliantly. But don't expect to have a calm conversation while doing. Between the too loud pipes in music and high voice levels (to be heard over the music), conversation is nearly impossible. Not a place for a reunion with old friends one hasn't seen in a long time.

Really great food, service, and decor at really high prices; but you get what you pay for. I got the best fajitas I ever had and my wife had a skirt stake that was second to none. Also our server was very presentable, smooth, and attentive when we ordered and received our food. The restrooms are luxurious with staff service. As you look about, you know you are in a top-notch establishment. The floral decor and plants along with the fire pits added to the atmosphere. Felt good afterwards. We definitely will be visiting again.

Went for cocktails in the late afternoon with friends. They had some pretty tasty "skinny" margaritas. Very good! Chips and salsa were really good. Salsa had a good kick. Had such attentive, friendly service from our server, Fannie. Ended up having some appetizers for an early dinner which were delicious! Highly energetic bar scene!

We felt it was a bit pricey but the food was great quality, though lacking in spice. Yummy chips and salsa, excellent enchiladas (lobster one was amazing) and stuffed peppers. Great ambiance too

The decor makes you feel like you're in Tulum right when you walk in the front door. The food was VERY very good. I did two different business lunches while there for work last week and was pleasantly surprised by both the interior and the food quality.

Ambiance is nice and transformative. We sat at the bar and received a serving of chips and salsa rather quickly. Thank you the bar back. Unfortunately good things changed soon after. Salsa is very spicy, even for me. I like spicy salsa, but this one made my nose run. The guacamole is tasteless and overly oniony. We must have waited 15 minutes, at the bar, and tried to get someone's attention to get a pair of drinks. Even the manager was standing at the bar getting a drink for himself and did not notice us sitting and looking at his staff to get one of the bartenders attention. I see where the lack of 5 stars comes from - it is well-deserved. We are one and done!

I want to share my horrible experience with trying to make a reservation for my birthday. I have been going to Javier's for years. In fact, I had a birthday dinner there a few years back spending a significant amount of money and leaving a hefty tip. This year, I decided to make a reservation for 12 friends for Saturday evening. I called to make the reservation and was told that for a party over 8, that there would be a $1,200 minimum. Keep in mind, I told them that I had a party of 12 and needed a reservation for 7:00 p.m. on Saturday evening. The manager said that he was going to email a contract for the reservation and that I would have to respond with my Identification and Credit Card. I stated that I live in the area and would prefer not to email my information. I said that I would be there in the next 15 minutes. When I arrived, the manager (Luis Perez) changed the amount from $1200 and said that it would be a $1500 required minimum and that I must have misunderstood the previous manager. I assured him that this was not the case and that I had actually talked to the manager and hostess more than once that day with all of the specifics for the reservation. His response to me was that it would be $1500 and that I didn't have to eat there. I was absolutely shocked and told him that I wanted him to honor the amount that I was quoted and that I did not misunderstand anything the original manager (Ernesto Montes) quoted me. I told him that he actually changed the price within 15 minutes of my arrival. I might also add that I am African American and do feel that this impacted the pricing. I do plan on following up and filing a complaint. Unfortunately, my patronage of Javier's has ended and I will discourage anyone that I know to support another establishment. I will also make a recommendation, to those interested in a restaurant that respects customers and would make a person trying to celebrate their birthday, feel welcomed.

Beautiful decor reminiscent of a vacation spot in Mexico. Lively, noisy and expensive. Chips, salsa and drinks were great, but the food that followed, although nicely presented, was inedible. If the quality of the food is important to you, you would do best to avoid eating here. Have a drink, then eat at one of the other great restaurants at Westfield.

This is a great-looking, open space, overly loud restaurant (what else is new in today's volume-amped dining scene?). Very pricey, with food no better than the corner Mexican cafe found in most neighborhoods, and way below standards in a decent restaurant in East Los Angeles. It should be no surprise that Javier's is over-priced, given the rents in the recently reborn Westfield Plaza, but plan on "breaking the bank" when you eat here. We were a party of seven. Three of us arrived a bit early, so I treated the first round. Two glasses of wine and one well-tequila drink cost $60 (plus tip). Seriously? The refried beans tasted as if they came from a can. Everything was drowning in sauce (with a thickening agent that made the sauces unpleasant tasting). I'm at a loss to understand why this eatery is so popular. I won't be back, that's for sure.

I’ve visited Javier’s in Vegas and Newport Beach and I can say confidently that they have hit it out of the park with their new location in Century City! The bar scene is great, the decor is mesmerizing and the food and service is excellent. You can’t go wrong with ordering anything from this spot. My favorite is the Chile Verde. Make sure you check it out!

I visited this place for the first time (lunch meeting). Located in a mall entrance off Santa Monica Blvd. Nice open restaurant, lots of space. Good food (I had the pork with green sauce). Great service. Prices are on the high side. I will return.

I know it’s Beverly Hills area and it should be expensive but the drinks are very pricey. Ambiance is amazing, service is good, food is good.

Over the past few months we made two reservations at this restaurant. The restaurant lost both reservations. It is very very loud. If you go there, you should pretty much forget about conversation. The food is ok, but over priced. We would not go back. There are several very good and more viable restaurants in Century City that you should try instead.

Most rudest young ladies hostesses except for Jessica. The person who claimed to be the GM, Louis Perez, was extremely rude with us , raising his voice in front of my family and saying that my speaking voice was too high for the hostesses when complaining to him about how unprofessional they were. He told us to leave the restaurant if we don't like it and basically they don't need our business. Mr. Perez is_not_ the GM. He claimed that OMAR, the actual GM/owner works for him . But our waiter and the rest of staff were very good and they all said they get so many complaints about him. Food was good. Does anyone want to be treated this way when spending $130 a person? I don't think so.

So we came for BFF birthday. We are all in our mid 40’s. Crowd is fun and mixed ages. Music is very loud you can’t hear the person next to you. Aesthetically beautiful the decor is amazing and makes you want to drink the best cocktails ever! Loved the apps. I personally thought food was overrated and expensive. After all it’s still rice beans and cheese. It’s elevated Mexican food. Frida’s food is better but this ambience is what you are paying for. Great spot for large parties to celebrate anything. Lots of beautiful people. Superb seafood. Seriously like the prawns and fish are delicious but again pricey. Don’t come here expecting a street taco plate for $15 more like rib eye tacos for $30. I’ll be back if I need to be for an event or “special” dinner but otherwise I’ll do Taco Tuesday at home. Should try it at least once. You can also come drink and do tapas.

Dropped in for bar bites and some cocktails with a friend, and the total bill was well over $200. That's nuts. All the margaritas are $20+ so be careful! Service was a little persistent, but the ambience was nice.

Walking into Javier's is like being transported to a high end Mexican restaurant in Mazatlan or Puerto Vallarta. The design is absolutely breathtaking. The seating is very comfortable with lots of booths. Very ingeniously planned with tables for 6 and 8 around the booths. Dark and romantic and elegant. But after that, it was a failure for me. Between the overly loud music, the worst guacamole I have ever eaten in my life! and waiters literally coming over to ask how things were every 5 minutes I am done with the place. I finally told one waiter to stop coming over and to leave us alone. Even that did not stop them. We had to raise our voices to have a normal conversation over the music. The food is not worth the noise! Even at 5:30 on a Monday night the noise level was deafening between the way too loud music and the people screaming over it to be heard. This is not dining. It is a contest to see who lasts longest!!! I had no complaints about my salmon which was huge and delicious for $35. It was worth the price. My friend had steak fajitas and I have never seen fajitas so unattractively served! No bell peppers or onion. The plate looked like something you would give your dog. Not sizzling. Not even hot. The flour tortillas were cold, too. They were rushing us out of there and we wanted to be out! My advice would be to go there for drinks which are reasonably priced and then go next door to Toscanova for a delicious Italian meal where you can hear yourself think and will not be over charged for inferior food. Our bill was $120 and should have been half that price. I know Javier's is a hot new place, but seriously folks I would be remiss if I did not warn you to steer clear if you want anything more than a fast drink with loud music which is fun, but not while dining!! Enjoy!

I know the place just opened a few weeks ago. But this is an establishment that has been in business for decades. If you are going to eat here the don’t go when it’s busy. Because we waited 45 minutes maybe longer for one entree combination plate and we were sitting at the bar No one bothered to tell us that we would be waiting this long. Except the people sitting next to us on both sides who apparently had the same issue. And honestly it’s totally unacceptable. If investing thins much into a new restaurant. Then it should be knveat d into the staff. There was a very nice guy who was sort of I. Between our server. , his name was Edwin. He seemed to be the most attentive guy there and got us what we asked for pretty quickly. Instead of having less people on staff they should do the right thing and have more servers and people like managers running around till the kinks are worked out. This is not an inexpensive place but the service was a huge disappointment ... one other guy who was very attentive was the guy who brought our food our. He had a beard and was talk but that’s all I know. Anyway. It’s going t take a lot for me to go back here. I’m not interested in bad service and waiting forever Please work this out. Imagine how many people I will tell about this. Not good

The Décor is fantastic but the food is average and pricey. I am not a lover of Mexican food but I have had better elsewhere. The wait staff were not particularly helpful and the noise level was horrible. You could barely hear the waiter talking.

Sunday lunch at Javier's was a trip. One week old and the place was packed and noisy, but food and service were top notch. Hi end Mexican cuisine, well prepared, presented, and impeccably served.

It seems as though there was a management adjustment after a rocky first several weeks because we dinned at Javiier's and its as good as it gets. Same great product and service we get in Crystal Cove near New Port Beach. GREAT FOOD AND COCKTAILS. GO AND GO OFTEN.

The space is lovely, evocative of a fancy restaurant in Mexico, bright and energetic. The service was good too. The guac was just OK, the salmon nothing special - chips and salsa were quite good. The food is very expensive (reflective of the location and the space). Good spot for a party or a business meeting, but not worth it for a regular lunch.

Great looking location at the corner of the Century City Mall. I dined here only one time. I looked at the menu and thought it was pricey, but decided to give it a try. The food was just old Mexican food--nothing special that require the pricing on the menu. Actually nothing special at any price. I eat out every day and know good food very well--this wan't.

We had dinner at Javier’s. The setting is nice, service was quick and friendly, and the food was very good. My jalapeño margarita was also quite good. It may not be especially memorable, but it is a good choice.

Decided to try the new Javier’s location in Century City and was not very pleased. While the ambiance and set up of the restaurant were awesome, the service and wait time to receive our food was unacceptable. Now, I understand that this establishment recently just opened and they are still working out the kinks, but strike one was not having a manager in a new establishment walk around and great guest and ask for feedback as that is the first way you try to avoid matters such as those that occurred with my party and a way to improve. Secondly, I assume it was just our waiter but she was extremely rude. Never communicated the long food wait times, which ended up exceeding 1hr and she was not familiar with the payment process, etc as we requested to split our bill between 2 parties. As far as the food, it was OK but could have been much better in comparison to the Vegas location. Restaurant needs much work at this point but I still have high hopes that it will reach the same standards of service as it’s sister restaurants in Vegas and Newport Beach. Even after the bad experience I may ride it one more try.

About a year ago, my husband and I went to Javier’s. It was a great experience: the food, the service; the cocktails... Amazing. So with great expectations we returned this week and invited friends. Such a disappointment! After a rather impersonal greeting at the front, we were lead to a loud table near the patio doors (I had specifically requested a quieter table). It was a windy night and the staff was doing some sort of outdoor work and kept leaving the door open, making us very uncomfortable. My husband had to get up to close the door several times! Eventually we were moved to a quieter booth, where we expected the experience to improve. Unfortunately it did not. The food was mediocre and the drinks tasted as if they came from bottled mixes. Utterly unremarkable made worse by the prices. The service itself was mediocre at best and very impersonal. The waiter even brought us the (hefty) bill shortly after removing the main course plates, without us asking for it. This made it quite awkward with our guests who just might’ve wanted dessert!

This was a first visit for our little group of friends. The decor is lush with many plants everywhere. The floor is done with golden and black pebbles like a river bed. We had a comfortable booth. There is a large menu with large prices. The food was delicious and worth returning to try other things. However the noise level was excrutiating and precluded conversation. As it is attached to a popular mall I am sure they are busy most of the time, so reservations are a must. The staff are reasonably attentive and pleasant though constantly on the move with the crowd. Valet parking is also quite expensive so park in the mall and take the escalator up.

Local friends of ours brought us here for dinner. They couldn’t of picked a better restaurant! From the ambience to the food to the drinks, this place is spectacular! We had the classic margaritas and they were mixed perfection. The salsa and guacamole were served with warm chips and they kept coming. The food orders included the scallops, shrimp and pork tacos and everything was piping hot and freshly prepared. The wait staff was bang on in the service department. Cool, moody interior, booths extremely comfortable. Highly recommend and cant wait to try their other locations when traveling! Love, love, love this restaurant

I asked for my salmon to be prepared without sauce so the food would not be spicy. The meal came with sauce and my vegetables were not eatable. The manager was arrogant, the busboys not well trained and the waiter forgot about us because he had too many tables with big parties. The worst part was they took out the garbage can through the restaurant. Ugh!!! Won't go back here and will not recommend to others. Better to choose a different restaurant. Also, the restaurant is not on Open Table so it's a pain to make a reservation.

This place is just so unremarkable except for the space. The food is weak and overpriced. Shrimp was fishy and rubbery. Drinks syrupy with an artificial taste. I would say the food is old school Mexican. Even the chips didn't have a homemade taste. They were almost stale tasting.

We stopped in s few nights ago for dinner.... just the two of us. We've been waiting nearly two years for this location to open after visiting the Newport Beach location and falling in love with the food. I love scallops and Javier's has one of the best scallop dishes I've tasted in my worldwide travels. We stopped in upon arrive at the mall and added our names to the wait list. We immediately received a text with a link to constantly check our position on the list... pretty kewl. This gave us the opportunity to walk around the mall and do some shopping. Easy to,pass time with all the great stores available. We went back within an hour and were seated at a large booth with a great view. This place was crazy busy with so many staff.... our order was immediately taken by Oscar who answered a couple questions. Chips, guacamole, and our drinks arrive promptly.... our food took some extra time but Oscar stayed on top of it. My scallops were stunningly delicious and did not disappoint. I could not have been happier. My DF shrimp enchiladas looked great and confirmed by her to be delicious and worth the wait. By the way - this place just opened a couple days ago - but still the staff really had their act together and delivered excellent service and excellent food. Finally Javier's is open and I can enjoy some of the best scallops anytime.

I've been to all other locations and while they are all good, I feel that this one has the best atmosphere for group dining

We were in town last week and went in for lunch and I’m so glad we did. We walked in and the decor is sleek and modern with an upscale vibe. We were sat down immediately and ordered the queso fundido, guacamole, and drinks to start. For lunch I ordered the chicken suiza enchiladas and they were so good! My husband ordered the beef taquitos and those were good too. We will definitely be back when we’re in town again!

This is a chain restaurant and the food is fine but not spectacular. This location is huge and an open air concept. Even on a cold night, like when I was there, they had heat lamps everywhere. It's a good place for a casual drink at the bar or dinner in the restaurant. The music is loud and contemporary (which adds to the positive vibe). The waiters are pretty good at subtly upsetting you to more and the most expensive options so be careful.

Yes it's Century City and Yes, it's overpriced, but the food is very good, the cocktails are great and the service is terrific. Come on a nice day, and you may never leave. 😉

The setting at Javier’s is quite nice, though the restaurant is quite loud. Service was friendly and quick. The food was good, and so too was my margarita.

Javier's will provide you with the type of Mexican fare you want, regardless of whether it's authentic plates or just standard taco and enchilada combos. The food tastes fresh, well-prepared, and very flavorful. The service is excellent and highly attentive without being annoying. They have a good menu of desserts as well, not just the standard flan. There is really something for everyone, and it's all delicious. One great thing is that while there was an anticipated wait for a table of about 30 minutes, we were given the option of dining immediately in the bar where there are tables and booths which are really no different than in the dining room, other than it was a bit quieter. This is an issue because the noise level is too high... turn down the music! The prices are far from cheap, this is a pricey place, but not necessarily a bad value. I like Javier's, because of the price, I wouldn't call it a go-to place, but nice for special meal. One more thing, parking at the mall can be a challenge.

The most stunning restaurant. Food was good. Guac was average. Salsa was really good. Dessert was great. Service was great, a well oiled machine. All the cool kids go there.

My friend and I ate here last night, which was my first time. My first impression was how beautifully it was appointed and designed. No detail left undone. Bravo! There doesn’t appear to be a bad seat in the house. We sat down and started chatting when the waiter asked us for our drink order. I rarely do this, but I thought this is a nice place so the house wine must be nice, I’ll just order that since I don’t want to bother looking at the menu in the middle of a conversation…. DEAR MGMT: Don’t run out of house wine. Really? It’s house wine. Inconceivable. We were promptly served chips and salsa, and in no time I noticed the black leather-like table cloth was splattered with white salt… DEAR CHEF: Don’t over-salt the tortilla chips! My feet were swollen by the end of the meal. I would hate to hear what one of those chef shows would say about this rookie-mistake. We ordered two of the ceviche appetizers at $24 a pop. We were asked 3 times by the bus staff if they could take our plates while there is still food on them AND during mid-chew. DEAR BUS STAFF: If there is still food on the plate and you see that I have food in my mouth, don’t keep interrupting to ask to remove our plates. Our first priority is to enjoy the over-priced appetizers in peace with the option of eating as much as we want. Your priority is to remove all dishes as quickly as possible. We are not in sync. I get it; you don’t want plates left on the table (even though this is a restaurant). I’m guessing by your over-zealousness that you were instructed by management that it should be your top priority. But management can’t even order enough house wine, so listen to the patrons, not the management. Also, I would rather you wipe the salted table which is much more unappealing than a half-full plate of food. Then our meal comes. The waiter sets it down and is off too quickly for us to notice that the over-zealous bus staff took all the silverware. DEAR WAITER: NEVER SERVE FOOD WITHOUT CHECKING IF YOUR PATRONS HAVE THE PROPER UTENSILS IN WHICH TO EAT. We waited a loooonnnnggg time before we saw anyone who could provide utensils. I finally caught the busser’s eye and he promptly took care of us. Shortly after, the waiter reappeared. I asked for another glass of wine to go with my dinner. Unfortunately, he had to be reminded before my meal was entirely over that I still didn’t have my wine. Javier’s wants to be high-end, as evident in their prices, but it really misses the mark; Professionally appointed, but not professionally managed.

The food at Javier's is excellent, the service exceptional, and the atmosphere is festive. The restaurant is loud, and the wait on a Saturday night can be long even with a reservation. This is also likely to be the most expensive Mexican restaurant that you will probably ever visit, but still, my wife and I enjoyed the experience very much.

Very busy with a great vibe. Food and drinks were excellent. Servers were on their game and took great care of us. If you make a reservation, everyone in your party must be there to be seated. Not the first time I have heard of this policy in a busy restaurant but it hindered our ability to be seated as 1 member of our party ran late due to traffic.

Great decor in this very large space, with a lot of typical Mexican hand made wood carvings and details. Food was good but rather over priced for what it was. Light activity for a Saturday lunch time but the music was blaring and our conversation had to be shouted.

Visited Los Angeles for the weekend and thought to check out Javier’s as we checked out the new mall renovations. The exterior and interior were very nice. Indoor/Outdoor feel creates a nice waiting area. However finding out that there was a 2-hour wait was disappointing (even for a Saturday night). We were told we could wait for open seating at the bar ... but it was packed. So prepared to leave, we noted a couple wrapping up their meal and paying their bill so we scooped up their sear in 10 minutes. Sonya was our server. She was fast, attentive and accurate. Our drinks never ran low, our food was delicious and we had a great booth. We love Javier’s in Vegas and this location didn’t disappoint with quality of service.

We wanted to try something new at the Westfield Century City mall. This place was incredibly packed. Without a reservation, we waited about a half hour for a table at lunch. I would strongly recommend reservations -- which are only available by phone. The menu was definitely a unique take on what we're used to calling "Mexican" food here in Southern California. It was definitely well prepared and delicious. The service staff was excellent. The only thing we could pick on was the high prices.

Javier's offers a wonderful Mexican ambiance Great decor and comfort Great choice of Teqilas and cocktails but unfortunately we came for dinner and that is where the disappointment is: the food is hardly average Upon advice of the waiter I ordered the Osso Bucco which by the way is a Milanese specialty??? It was all Osso and no bucco Also the waiter did not even know what a CHILI CON CARNE is. It is not even on the menu In my opinion a great place to enjoy a good tequila for dinner go somwhere else

Great bar area with a huge selection of top shelf tequila. The restaurant area is beautiful and there are a few specialty dishes that you won't find elsewhere

4 Stars for the atmosphere and the drinks! The setting is great with lots of trees everywhere giving an an outdoor feeling indoors. We sat at the bar on this visit, and received some chips and salsa to snack on. (TIP: ask for extra salsa! They have like 4 others that they don't bring unless you ask) I ordered a Cadillac, my go to margarita with that Gran Marnier float that gives it that extra kick. It was quite tasty, drank the first one down in a few minutes with the chips and extra salsas. Lunch was the Chile Verde plate, which was actually very tender and flavorful, and the trio of enchiladas. I assumed it to me more Americanized and not authentic due to the menu and having Prime steaks, but it was a nice surprise to get some food tasting Mexican food. It's a little pricey, but like I said above you're here for the drinks and atmosphere. There are plenty of authentic Mexican spots around LA for way cheaper, but of course you have to go and hunt them down. I would definitely go back, and recommend it to try if you have not yet. Also the back bar if you eat inside, has a whole wall full of tequila! Try the Dos Artes if you never have?! Best tequila I've ever had, about $25/shot? Cheers! Happy dining.

This place is physically beautiful, The food is excellent although expensive. Service is kind, but slow. Unless you get a table way in the back, it is terribly noisy. That is why I gave it 4 stars not 5. It is aa very happening place.

Oh Javier's, where do I begin?! Your rice and beans taste like someone's mama is in the back making them. Seriously. The food there is really, REALLY good. Fresh. Tasty. And expensive. You could probably find the same thing at a smaller mom and pop spot, but it certainly wouldn't have the ambiance of Javier's. The service is lukewarm and the drinks are hit and miss (have been a couple of times and have had to send drinks back twice for not being the right ones) and more expensive than the food. The upside? You won't be able to have more than one, but it'll leave you more room to clean your plate from the delicious food. Overall, so-so, but great vibe, a little bit of a scene, and decent food.
Great food
Went there for dinner on Sunday. The place was extremely busy and it is apparent with only 10 days since opening that they are still working out the details. Tables were assigned randomly where we (2 people) had a large table for 5 in a booth and a group of 5 people were sat nearby on 3 tables pushed together. The place looks very nice and had a great vibe. Our waiter was Armando and he was courteous, attentive and polite. He made great recommendations for dinner and the food was outstanding. I will definitely be back once they have worked out their kinks and operations runs smoothly. Place is fun, the food is great.
