Great Little Spot!

By RealEstateGuy |

Gavin's is the perfect little spot to pop-in for a snack as you're leaving the dog park, river walk, or tennis courts in Fitler Square. The food is simple and delicious (empanadas, quiche, petite sandwiches) and they serve La Colombe coffee! The space is adorable and the staff is always friendly and polite. I stop into Gavin's whenever I'm nearby.

One of my favorite place in the neighboorhood ! People who work there always have a smile , compare to other famous coffee shop around...

A great find!

Wow! The food was amazing! We had fresh squeezed orange juice, espresso, croissants, empanadas AND a tostada with egg, avocado and tomato! Everything looked so delicious we had to try several different items. When we visited they also had homemade scones and tartes and frittatas. It's a small, cozy place in a residential neighborhood and it's definitely worth a visit!

Wonderful home made cookies and other snacks.

A welcoming little place just beside a neighborhood playground. A few tables in the back to sit and eat. People also pick things up to take to the park.

Great new addition to West Philly

Tried the brand new Jezebel's Studio at 208 S 45th St. (between Walnut & Locust). First time having empanada's..delicious and will def be a regular. Also her cookie dessert...OMG...Don't remember what they're called, but pure taste buds ecstasy! Very cozy little spot, completely renovated and beautiful. Even the Seating was made by Jezabel! Def a place to check out.

Great coffee/breakfast stop!

My husband and I went here for coffee and a light breakfast. He had two empanadas and they were both super yummy! I had the blueberry scone which was AMAZING. I also tried their orange juice after reading it was homemade - it’s a must!

A Gastronomic Gem. Argentine Alfajores, Empanadas And More!

By GlobalVillage |

Whenever we visit Philadelphia, we always try to stop by Jezabel's, a cute as a button gastronomic gem housed in the former Gavin's Cafe. You can get great standard cafe fare (such as coffee, sandwiches & salads); but we come here for the outstanding Argentine fare. Try the Argentine Alfajores (dulce de leche cookies), Empanadas (dough filled with meats or veggies), and more. They are first rate. We keep coming back for more!

Service with a smile

This neighbourhood gem has a European cafe ambience with delicious hispanic fare and decent coffee too. The narrow, historic building has small tables for two the length of the wall and more seating on the sidewalk in summer. The small empanadas (pastry pockets with a mouthful or two of savoury filling) are made in house, for my taste they could do with a touch more 'zing'. Quiches look tasty as do the ricotta tart and dulce de leche biscuits.

Breezy, cozy little gem of a place

By Susan B |

My friend and I stopped into Jezebel's as a halfway point on a tour. It is not large but the atmosphere is light and cheery as reflected in the decor. We were a group of 6 that sort of descended on them out of nowhere on a Sunday morning but the restaurant staff provided excellent service in a short period of time with a smile. I had the spinach empanada and a cortado and both were very good. My friend had a ham and cheese croissant and said it was excellent. Wish I had one of these at home.

Great neighborhood spot

By JohnandAnneKSKY |

We dropped by this neighborhood spot for coffee and breakfast. it was quite wonderful. They have very tempting hand made pastries and other delicacies, as well as perfectly brewed coffee, espresso and teas. On a cold rainy morning it was a very welcome nook to while away some time, have great food and enjoy the coffee.

Empanadafest

The best reason to go to Gavin's Cafe is the empanadas. There are even vegan ones as a special order. The laid back atmosphere encourages sitting, pausing, catching up with neighbors and friends.

Quick stop

Great food and lovely little cafe. I stopped in by pure chance whilst out on a tour of Philly on a Segway. Would recommend this for a nice quick bite to eat.

Nice work Jezabel!

Great selection of delicious empanadas and other bites that can be mixed and matched. Jezabel's was clean, everything was well displayed, and the staff was helpful and courteous. It's definitely worth a visit if you're in Philadelphia.

Wonderful neighborhood cafe

As is to be expected in Philly, Gavin's is yet another small, local eatery run by passionate foodies that care about their food. Stopped by coming back from the dog park for empanadas and the unbelievable Alfajores. Absolutely delicious, would highly recommend to all that they plan a stop while in the hood, they sell the Alfajores by the half dozen and Wow, what a way to impress your family and colleagues with a wonderful treat. Empanadas come in several varieties and each one we tried was delicious. take my word for it, this little cafe packs a big punch.

Segway Stop

By Shelli M |

We were on a Segway tour and this was the 1/2 way stop point. What a little gem. We tried the empanadas and a slice of quiche. The restaurant is narrow and small, but packed with great old world charm. Items were delicious and had fresh ingredients which tasted homemade. Staff were friendly and welcoming.

Gavin's Cafe AKA Jezabels, Yummy Argentine Alfajores and Empanadas!

By GlobalVillage |

Gavin's Café, AKA Jezabels, is a great little coffee shop filled with Yummy Argentine Alfajores, Empanadas, pastries, sandwiches, et al. We walk from Rittenhouse Square to the Hospital of University of Pennsylvania (HUP) daily and make a point to stop by, either to eat for ourselves, or to give as a gift to HUP staff. We have a daughter who lives in Argentina, and these Alfajores (soft cookies filled with Dulce De Leche) and Empandas (kind of like a Spring Roll filled with meat or veggies) are the real deal. We keep coming back for more!

A pleasant little spot

By marianc95 |

This place is off the beaten track in a small, quietl corner all the way at the end of Pine Street. It specializes in Argentinean medialunas, alfajores, and empanadas, but serves quiches, salads, muffins, and various pastries as well, plus several drinks, of course. The space is truly small, but it has charm. We happened to be there on a beautiful summer day are were able to enjoy our brunch outside. If you are looking to find out more about this place, note that its name has changed from Gavin's to Jezabel's--and apparently the owner is thinking to open a second location at some point.

The best little neighborhood cafe in Philly, serving La Columbe coffee.

By nandomicale |

This quaint little historic corner bar makes the cafe at the edge of Philly's Schuylkill River Park. The espresso was great, the pastries tasty, and the service friendly and quick.
