Love the decor, very comfortable vibe. Food was delicious. We had the Avocado Toast, (not what it is called on menu), also had the the eggs Benedict, with bacon instead of pork belly. Everything was great, even the mimosa. Server was friendly and helpful. Wold love to try lunch and the dinner menu. Definitely recommend. Will come back.

Went for dinner. Wanted a cup of soup and a salad. I had a cup of tomato basil and a Rocket Salad. Switched out the Asiago for goat cheese in the salad. Service: ok, tables were messy and the waitress asked if I would like to wait and I said sure. Service wasn't great but not bad either. Soup was also ok, a little too acidic for me, needed some creaminess, a little watery tasting and heavy on the basil and salt. Not offensive, but wouldn't order it again. 6 bucks for a cup size. The salad had lots of good stuff in it, sun dried tomato, kalamata, arugula, corn, tomato, avocado, roasted peppers, grilled onion, lemon vinaigrette, cheese and candied pecans. Sort of very strong salty components with heavily candied pecans. I love sweet and salty, and overall I enjoyed the salad , it was tasty, but I'd make the nuts less candied, it was unnecessarily overly sweet. I believe the salad was 14.99. There were no little side salads to do a soup and salad type of thing, and 20 bucks is steep to me for soup and salad. Not great for gluten free folks although one of the waitresses kindly offered to make the sandwiches bread less.

Joe's is an extremely popular little bistro, with a very strong fan base. But we ate there this morning and found it very over rated. The place is very small and cramped, as if eating in the back of a small car. You cannot get in and out of your chair without a challenge. It is an open kitchen, and very loud. Figure in the folks sitting around you (almost ON you) and it is noisy. You first need to get up and order/pay at the counter; then they bring the food to your table. Coffee is self serve: maneuver through the maze to reach the coffee urn, pour, and then balance the cups carefully as you work your way back to your table. Wouldn't be so bad if there was ample room, but the place is packed solid. The breakfast menu is very meager. We expected a more exotic selection, considering the reviews. The pancakes are average, although it was pretty cool cooking bacon bits in with the batter. But otherwise, just pancakes, with chopped strawberries & sliced banana on the side. The stuffed french toast was bland toast, but stuffed with lots of sweet creme and something berry. Looked great, but tasted like cotton candy. You really need to have a sweet tooth for that one! Their owner/chef apparently won "Chopped", but I never would have guessed based on what we ate. We would rate the Main Street Kitchen down the street as a far superior breakfast bistro -- tastier food, more sides, much nicer interior "space", better coffee. Sorry, Joe, but you didn't deliver on your reputation! The bill for: pancakes w bacon bits, stuffed french toast, (2) coffees came out to $30 plus tip. Since the wait staff only drops the food off, but does not take your order nor do coffee -- you do not have to feel guilty about not doing a full 18 or 20 percent.

great people. very helpful. the amount of food is just right, not too much. we looked for a breakfast place off Hwy 5. it's a bit far from the highway, but worth going.

We went here with family for a special breakfast out and tried the Stuffed French Toast, the Chicken Waffles and the P-Cake Balls. All of the dishes were excellent as well as the service. We especially enjoyed the casual decor with its metal colanders used for pendant lights.

Visited Joe's for the first time today. A great relaxed vibe. My husband had the Pork Benedict. In a word - Scrumptious! The Hollandaise sauce had just the right amount of tartness. I had 2 eggs and the biscuits and gravy. The eggs were buttery. The biscuits were sweet and the gravy was tangy. Service was quick and very welcoming. I felt like I had been there a dozen times The décor is even fun. Colanders and box graters for lampshades! Not the cheapest eats but a very comfortable way to start the day.

The atmosphere is nice the food was great but lacked in service as far as constant checking up if we needed refills or needed to order some more drinks but she was very nice and great .... we order a Porterhouse and Argentina Flap ... Coconut Shrimp and Pot Pie .... Pot Pie was a lil deceived on the actually amount recvd but it was still amazing ..lol We will still go back cuz the food seems to be amazing just hopefully to get more faster service

Had dinner there and it was good. Had chicken and waffles. The waffles were VERY good, the chicken so so. I got a drumstick and a thigh. I do not like drumsticks oh well. My son liked his blackened red snapper and husband enjoyed his pesto chicken pasta.

Went for Sunday Brunch. Had our friend go there and put our name in for a table. The wait was about an hour but we waited at home and they phoned us when our table was ready. The Stuffed French toast was excellent and the portions are huge! The mimosa's were great and so was the service:-) Will come back here for dinner soon.

Love the atmosphere and decor The burrata and heirloom tomato salad was yummy.....then we had the signature bone-in rib-eye with puréed sweet potatoes Lovely wine and beer list Recommended!

Nice place and updated and larger than before...menu is good and cant go wrong with any order...Friendly service as usual

Good brunch friendly ambiance, no fuss very nice place. We went for brunch wait was long pricey just a little but worth it. Everything was delicious no greasy no dry just right. Fresh marmalade not crazy sweet all natural. We liked it slot. Hope you enjoyed it too.

I had the buttermilk pancake with strawberries and soy latte. The food was great, the service was great, but I hate the wait!!!! They are always busy and I had to wait for 40 minutes at 10 am... not sure if there's a better time, but the food/service is definitely worth the wait.

This was a great place to visit with friends. The food was flavorful and there wasn't any pressure to leave when we were finished with our meal. It was clearly a very popular place so expect a small wait, but it is absolutely worth it! There is additional seating outside if you like the fresh air, but this trip it was a little too cold for that. So, inside it was, and it was perfect. Not too loud, staff was attentive, and i said before, the food was excellent.

Went here to celebrate a friend's birthday. We had 8 people and waited for our table. I perused the menu and became enthused. We sat and were helped right away. The server was friendly and efficient. All of our orders were prepared correctly. The portions are large and lots of sharing went on. A side note, with breakfast you have to order potatoes as a seperate item. They were delicious with onions and peppers. They also make their own hot sauces which are just that. Hot!! I really recommend this place for a meal!!

Once you get north of Burbank Boulevard in the Valley (and some would argue it stops at Ventura Boulevard) the San Fernando Valley can be a wasteland of interesting, good and unique places to eat...but if you brave it all the way to the wilds of “old” Granada Hills on Chatsworth Street, you’ll find a beacon of thoughtful foodie-ness at Joe’s Cafe. Now be warned...it’s a tiny place...if you’re a large man you might not even be able to fit in...(just kidding)...there are only a few seats inside which they supplement with some outside tables...so if you head there during a busy time...say Sunday brunch...you might have to wait for some place to sit...but you’ll be rewarded with top notch home made food. So do it! Our first time eating there was actually our second time there...this was as a result of us being unaware of the limited hours for breakfast...This is actually our only complaint about the place...we often aren’t able to get to brunch until a little later so if we’re going on any day but Sunday, they stop serving the breakfast menu at 11:30 am...even on Saturdays...so we missed that window on our first trip there but headed back another day when we were able. More breakfast time please Joe’s! Everything about the place demonstrates attention to detail, the farm-sourced food, the staff and the restaurant is smartly designed with a modern sensibility While we were waiting for our feed they brought an olive and pretzel bread which was served with grape and apple jam which was great! We had ordered 2 croissant sandwiches with egg and smoked gouda. I subbed olives for the bacon and my wife subbed avocado for the bacon. The olives subbed the perfect amount of saltiness for the sandwich and my wife (who had sunny side over medium eggs on hers enjoyed it quite a bit. Our 4 year old had greek yogurt with honey which kept him quite happy. As potato fiends we do wish there was a potato option with their breakfast offerings...we’re sure they’d do a great job with potatoes! We also saw an order of pancakes go by and they looked pretty darned good, coveed with fresh berries. Although we didn’t eat lunch there were some drool-worthy items on the menu which would have satisfied our vegetarian needs including the “Extra Cheese Grilled Cheese” and the “Mac ‘N Bleu” Cheese” and a grilled mushroom sandwich. The coffee was also good...self-serve Intelligentsia brand. We were impressed with the chef’s attention to detail...making sure plates were perfectly presented and spotless on their way out. We also always appreciate a restaurant that makes a point of telling you that menu items are seasonal...let’s us know they put a lot of thought to what they serve. The Valley needs more places like Joe’s Cafe...in the mean time, as they say, Eat at Joe’s. The atmosphere here is so fun and the food is excellent. They need to ramp up the air conditioning system however for hot California days.

It was my first time there and I was pleased with everything. The food was great, the service was even better and the price was fair. I was there on a weekday and it wasn't crowded but I hear it can be jammed on weekends.

We were excited to try this relatively new neighborhood restaurant. Our first visit was Dinner on a Thursday evening; it was a good experience— the portions were very large. The service was friendly and efficient. The lasagna was tasty and super rich, but much more than one person could consume. The chicken pot pie was light on chicken and not very tasty—it would have been better with a flaky crust (like phyllo dough) instead of the doughy bland crust. Good selections of wine and beer and a comfortable casual decor. We’ll be back to try other menu items.

The wife and I have been driving by here ever since it opened for breakfast and lunch. Now they are open for dinner. We went for dinner and got seated right away. We could have sat either inside or out. We sat out. The decor is very cute. The service was good. The flavors for the most part were excellent. The execution was flawed. I had the Beet Pest Pasta. The bowl was very small for the price. The pasta could have been a bit more refined. The sauce was good, however there was no bread to go with the pasta. So that being said, the dinner was extremely expensive for what we got. So ouch!

Please do some research on this establishment to find out what the owner stands for and decide if you'd like to support them with your patronage.

I heard about this place when it first opened and it received great reviews. Finally tried it and was greatly disappointed. We asked for a booth but we were seated at a family type table with the most uncomfortable seats. Table was sticky; a simple order of bacon & eggs medium was served with gooey eggs ... more like rare. So you order bacon & eggs and that’s all you get for $8 plus. You can add potatoes & toast for an extra $3! A simple “House Toast” was $12 + and it’s a grilled Cheese on stale sourdough with barely any tomato, basil, olive mixture on it. And that’s all ... no side salad, no nothing! However, the servers were great. Will not be back.

Tiny place but cute. Friendly, attentive staff. Had heard great things about Joe's from multiple people, but felt the food was marginal. My Stuffed French Toast was cold and boring. Don't know what it was cooked in, but not an egg batter like I had expected, and they used some weird kind of bread. Just a pile of soggy bread with some fresh fruit on top. Also, quite expensive! One Stuffed French Toast, one "the Cure", and one cup coffee ~ $27.88. :-(

Came here fir the first time today, I can say I really enjoyed my meal. I ordered the meatball sandwich with fries. The fries were so plentiful and flavorful (no ketchup needed). My mom had the turkey, bacon, avocado sandwich (she said she'd had sandwich before and recommended NOT to get ciabatta bread as it's hard to eat). Both sandwiches were so large, we couldn't finish them and had to take half home. We were given brioche prior to meal with choice of spicy ketchup or cantaloupe jam. We didn't try the jams, but the bread was DELICIOUS without it. Looking forward to returning again and trying different menu items.

Joe recently opened a larger restaurant location just a short walk and a few shops from his original location. We ate at Joe's Cafe for breakfast and my create your omelette was delicious. My friend said his biscuit and gravy was excellent. Also, the coffee is hot and fresh with endless almond milk, so good. The larger restaurant location is still quaint with great service and outstanding food.

Not your typical neighborhood breakfast/lunch spot. Menu for both breakfast and lunch offers great options to be healthy or a bit naughty. Food is always fresh and service is friendly and efficient. It is a small location so crowd can be large at time but it is worth the wait. You can not go wrong with small stack of pancakes with berries (super yum!) and the morning toast! For lunch try the grilled cheese with mushrooms for a treat.

Joe’s cafe is simply the best for breakfast 🥞 around here!’ My wife & I yelped and base on reviews we stopped by for breakfast since we’re visiting the area for the weekend and it was a great 👍 food & friendly staffs all around including the owner Joe whom we had a conversation with. It’s a open kitchen with a nice high chair bar and that we choose to seat. From the coffee, veggie omelette , avocado 🥑 breakfast bruschetta and waffles with berries on top, All dishes came out delicious 😋 with good portions. We really enjoyed our breakfast and will come back if in the area again. Highly recommended.

This place is pretty popular so you may have to wait for a table. However, our wait was only 10 minutes. We went for breakfast and each got the croissant breakfast sandwhich and split an order of biscuits and gravy. Ok, really we split the biscuits and my wife let me have all the gravy. Huge mistake on her part cause the gravy was outstanding. So was our croissant breakfast sandwiches. It was really tough to choose and we saw lots of things go by that we will try next time.

Went to Joe's today for the first time. Put in our order, waited for well over a half-hour, and realized that everyone who had come in behind us was served and we were not. Pressed for time, we got a refund and left as it was quite apparent the cook never got the order. Not good for a 10 table restaurant. Food looked great though. Maybe one day I might actually get to taste it.

Joe’s Cafe is located near my home . . . I’m very blessed! This place is a gem. Everything on the menu is off the charts good. My favorite breakfast dish is the Breakfast Sandwich. The Waffles are fantastic as well . . . You can’t go wrong by coming here . . . the Chef and owners name is “Joe” and he actually won on the Food Network TV food shows!

This place is awesome for breakfast! They are nestled in little Granada Hills and the head Chef also won Food Networks Chopped Game show. I have to say the french toast is amazing and the oatmeal is to die for. Check this out and get there early as lines do begin soon!

this is our 2nd trip to Joe's. Good food friendly service, though not your typical experience. Wait for a table, then go inside to order and pay for your food. When paying, you have the option to prepay a gratuity, which is a little bit akward, not knowing how the service will be. Not a big deal for us as we usually tip well even when service is not great. Self serve coffee, wait at your table for food to be brought to you by cheery waitstaff. Only knock is after getting food, there is no additional service to you...want more coffee? - get up and get it! Food itself is very good, and plenty of it. Restaurant is dog friendly outside with treats and water at the ready. Place is kinda trendy hip - good vibe. We'll be back!

New address is 17823 Chatsworth St., Granada Hills. Friends told me about this a while ago. They recently moved to a larger location. So glad I took them up on meeting for breakfast. Sensational. Staff all smile in greeting. Menu difficult to choose from. It all looks great. Had The Cure. Delicious. Busy place with people waiting. Worth the wait. They open at 8am. Serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. Parking on the street or in back. My server was Janet. She was terrific.

Food is great, as is the service. Very nice place that has been very successful at bringing something high quality into the neighborhood. The restaurant business is very competitive, especially given the recession, so its really a shame the local competition is trying to drive Joe's out of business through innuendo and rumor.

Now a a lot larger of a restaurant...Great menu, gourmet fun comfort food, friendly staff...Inside and outside dinning

4 words that absolutely belong together CHOCOLATE CHIP BACON COOKIE!!!! As a southerner I was disappointed in the biscuits and gravy but that happens everywhere outside of Dixie.

Everything I've tried has been wonderful! The blue mac n cheese is great! Salmon is delicious. Oreo cake best i ever had. Everyone is friendly and the vibe is nice.

Great location, food and service for a business casual lunch. Everyone rated their meals from good (pork belly hash) to great (grilled chicken & Brie sandwich). Loved the pretzel bread with jam dippers that was served before our meal too

YOU ORDER AT THE COUNTER AT JOE'S CAFE. THIS IS A SMALL NEIGHBORHOOD WALK-UP IN GRANADA VILLAGE. They feature great salads and FABULOUS sandwiches to a busy lunch crowd. Seating is limited inside, but shaded sidewalk tables are usually preferred.

My family was on vacation with a disabled family member and we came to Joe's. They accomodated the wheelchair and the rest of our party (7). The place is very small, maybe 5 tables inside and 5-7 outside, so I don't recommend large parties. My kids and cousin had stuffed french toast - amazing balance of sweet and slightly tart with the stuffing. I had an omlet with spinach, mushrooms and bacon - Yum! I only wish I could have taken some home because it was huge and delicious! My husband had 2 eggs and toast. We all shared food, so no worriess! My husband said they were the best fried eggs he has ever had. Everything is local and organic and delicious! Plenty of staff on hand to take care of everyone. Coffee was dark and delicious as well. There is a lunch menu, but they are not open for dinner. Be sure to check it out!

Came here with my cousins for breakfast on a Saturday. Since it's been raining in Los Angeles (hallelujah!) no one was seating outside so our party of 8 were able to get a table within 30 minutes. Our party ordered Stuffed French Toast, Pork Belly Hash, House Toast, Omelette, Croissant Sandwich, Pancakes. I love the Stuffed French Toast it was loaded with fresh berries and was very flavorful. The Pork Belly Hash was BOMB, best dish of the day. The House Toast was okay. My cousin said it would have been better if the egg and bacon was on the side. We thought that was how they will serve it. Service is fast and attentive. I would definitely come back here and try them for lunch or dinner.

Joe's is a great neighborhood restaurant. The area could actually use more of these sorts of places and Joe's is a great addition. My one complaint is that it is very, very small. Hard to get a table inside. There are a few tables on the sidewalk. But the weather can be hot, windy...so these are not always good. And there are only a few, so again, you could have to wait awhile. I truthfully stay away from place during peak times. And they have very limited hours too. Check before you go. Food is good, fresh. The other day I got coffee and the only choices for cream were half and half and almond milk. Why not whole milk or 2%? What you do get, is usually very fresh and well prepared and the restaurant is pleasant to have a relaxing morning brunch. If you get a table, you are in good shape!

There were six of us, and we stopped for a nice supper. The food was great, a little overpriced for me, but then : it’s California. Three of us had the sausage sun-dried tomato alfredo, one the pumpkin ravioli, one the chilled salmon salad, and one the cast iron bone in ribeye. All were great, the atmosphere was fun, and the service friendly.

Went with a friend for breakfast - and I don't like breakfast food, but had a very tasty grilled "breakfast sandwich" with Hellim cheese, tomatoes, basil, bacon and kalamata olives - can you say yum!! Great feel and great use of a very small space. It was clean and love the huge - bowl like coffee mugs. Can't wait to go back and try lunch!

Nice casual neighborhood restaurant with great breakfast/brunch. We sat in very cute outdoor area and had tasty coffee, fresh squeezed OJ that was delicious, and wonderful omelets that had very fresh ingredients. My husband gets decaf coffee all over world and apparently good decaf is hard to find. He said this is best decaf he has ever had. I highly recommend a visit to Joe's.

GH is my hometown and Joe's is the best thing in town right now. The breakfast is downright excellent and honestly underpriced for the quality and the demand. A plate of eggs and bacon or sausage is only $3.99. Seriously, raise your prices son so you can make some money. The omelette is absolutely epic and super light and fluffy. This guy can really cook!

I went to Joe's Café in Granada Hills, CA for lunch on Friday. It is a very small place. You need to stand in line at the register to order and pay for whatever you want. (The menu is on a large chalk board on the wall.) Then you can find a seat, which may be troublesome as there are only a dozen or so inside. There are several tables outside, which on a nice day, is the place to sit. The TBA sandwich was very good (turkey, bacon, avocado, smoked Gouda, lettuce on a nice roll.) Prices are reasonable ($10 - $15 or so with a drink).

I went at 1:30 for lunch, with three other friends. They brought us a brioche and homemade jams which were good. We had to wait for someone to arrive then we ordered at counter. It was a warm day and it did not feel like the air conditioning was on or perhaps not as efficiently as it should have. I was sweating. I ordered the grilled vegetable salad, it was fresh and nicely dressed. I also ordered iced ice. The bill was $14.50 and tax. The waitress never came over to see how we're were doing nor offered us anything else to drink. And like I said, it was hot in there. It was decent but not sure i will go back ( at least until the weather cools down). My friends' meals looked good but they were warm, too. I love local independent places so hope they fix the air and improve on service.

This is bomb! The best breakfast in the San Fernando Valley. Expect to wait in line because there is always a line. I think your biggest problem is going to be deciding what to order. There is so many yummy things to choose from ! What you could do is order ( if you go with friends) order a bunch of stuff so you can try lots of different flavors! Yummy 🤪

Went three times. The french dip was great. Then returned twice. Their chile rellenos are awful, thick uneatable chile,. Tried a third time , got the philadelphia cheese steak sandwich, yuck coated in runny liquid cheese, not provolone . They should cut down the number of items they make, and do a better job.

This small family owned business is a hit. The food is always fresh and consistently good. While the menu is limited, the food is not. Whether breakfast or lunch, you leave wanting to try something new on the next visit. Try their mac and cheese, pulled pork, fresh squeezed OJ, breakfast entree or sandwich, side of applewood bacon, biscuits and bacon gravy, fruit parfait and on and on. Be prepared to wait as it is small place and they don't accept takeout when there is a waiting list. They are going to move to a larger location 3 doors down soon which should help with this issue. If you arrive and there is a wait list, they text you when your table is ready. Once you get a table, you go to the counter to order and then take your seat. They deliver the food to your table and check on you during your meal. My only negative is the coffee. It is not strong but rather weak.

Joe's has a long wait, but is worth it! Tried the stuffed french toast and pork belly benedict. Both were fantastic. The french toast was HUGE! Their coffee is great too, which is a rare perk to come across. I'm not sure why more cafes don't make the effort to use good, quality coffee, but Joe's does! The staff was friendly and knowledgable, the food was great and the chic farmhouse decor is classy. I'll be back to try more menu items for sure!

Ok So let me start back when I first passed by this cute little spot on Chatsworth, I remember thinking "Really, all those people...just standing in line....for what? OMG I would never" and then this past Sunday....I did. Ok so now you know I lie. HAHAHAH but not purpose! Ok so lemme get to my point, I had been stalking this place this past week, and thought I need to find out why? Why? Why? Whhhyyy? So many people stand in these long lines (sorry Joe) and is really that good? Ok so anyhow, I went this past Sunday with my family, it was a 75 minute wait...ok but wait don't give up, see because they take your cell # down, then they text you a link, you click on the link and you can see your name on the list, and how many minutes you have been waiting, and then they text you when a table frees up. Ok so, yeah...like there aren't many tables, like seriously there are like 5-6 tables. And then there's like 4-6 tables outside and it's like not enough...Joe its really not enough, if you are reading this. So, we ordered breakfast, chocolate chip pancakes, breakfast croissant, lots & lots of bacon. Yes, bacon & lots of it. The food is fresh, made to order, the customer service is great, the staff are friendly & knowledgeable (except one but I don't want to let her spoil my review) and although we waited a long time, we took a walk which is healthy, while we waited, we got starbucks (whats up whats up to my friends at that starbucks) and theres a TJ maxx, and other stuff...but when we sat down and ordered let me tell you, every bite was worth the wait...oh yeah and the chocolate chip cookies are so goooood! Love you guys at Joes

Went with friends for brunch. Every dish looked better than the other. Large portions attractive and tasty. We sat at the counter to watch the action. Awesome. And, the place stayed immaculate even through the chaos of a brunch crowd. Great service even at a peak time. Must go back!

Been here twice - breakfast and lunch. Service: Just okay. No one really goes out of their way to check on folks. I think a robot has more personality. Food: I was disappointed with the service so I figured the food was the reason there's always a line to get in. WRONG! First time there, we went for lunch, and the sandwiches had some interesting tasting sauce and they really weren't fresh or anything special. I'd rather go to Urbane Cafe for a fresh, great tasting sandwich and pay way less. Second visit was at the new location and figured the breakfast is why this place brings folks in....WRONG again! Service was even worse this time and my friend and I both agreed Denny's has better breakfast options than the greasy, tasteless stuff we got here. Price: Are you frigging kidding me? I don't mind paying a little more for great tasting food but this place is a joke. First time there we got 2 sandwiches and 2 drinks for $35 plus tip. Second visit was 2 breakfast orders and 2 standard drinks for $35 plus tip. I just don't get why this place always has a crowd, so very disappointed.

Ok, so I was visiting my best friend and she took me here. Wow. What a treat. It's not often I get fresh local food made from scratch for me. I'm for sure into local sustainable food and Joe and staff do it awesome. Fresh squeezed ok. No way. And it's big. We shared. Let me talk about the food for a minute. It's so fresh and tasty. I insisted on going all three days of my visit. I had lots of different dishes and can't pick a favorite. My last meal there(till next visit) was pancakes. I'm a pretty good cook and baker and these pan cakes were the best I've ever had. No kidding. It's a huge plate so I shared with the table. All agreed awesome. Keep doin what you do Joe. You've got something special going on in that kitchen of yours. For those who left less than stellar comments, you might want to check out the website to see that the price you are paying is for fresh local and home made. For that, the prices are way under in my opinion. If you haven't been, it's worth the wait if there is one. Weekends prob get busy but we only waited a couple mins during the week. GO! You won't be sorry.

This is my second time visiting Joe's Cafe; This time it was breakfast. While I loved the lunch I had last time, I must say that breakfast was a very special treat. I love how the staff bring things to taste, like different sauces and jellies. YUM!!! Everything was prepared according to what I was asked by the wait staff so they must take good notes to pass on to the chef. Excellent!!!

Great vibe! Great food! Great staff! So glad they expanded to share the love. Waiting time is off the charts during peak meal hours so plan ahead. This local restaurant in Granada Hills is definitely worth the wait! Best for any meal...breakfast, lunch, and dinner!!!! The ambiance is so relevant and current. Love this place!!!!

First heard of this restaurant in LA Magazine, and did not realize that the place was just walking distance from a friend's house. The review was good, location was feasible, I know I just had to try it! My first visit was May 2013 and I have had many good weekend breakfast since. All item in their breakfast menu are good, very flavorful, and affordable. My personal favorites: Omelette (not greasy, and you get to pick your fillings - cheese, bacon, etc) , Berries and Oats (just enough mixture of milk, cooked just right not too watery, not dry, perfect sweetness), and the Croissant Sandwich (buttery croissant with crispy bacon and gouda cheese, and egg too!) ... fills my tummy just right. Huge serving is what you will get when you order the Stuffed French Toast. It is a must share item. When ordering pork and eggs, you will never go wrong with sausage patty. The taste is totally different from sausages sold in groceries, or served in Denny's or other chain breakfast places. The restaurant is small with very limited inside and outside seating. It tends to get busy on weekends, and waiting could take as long as 30 minutes. If going, plan to get there early. Free parking is available in front of the restaurant or across the street. Service is friendly and attentive, but when busy, the girls tend to forget to provide customers with pretzels and dips (starters?) unless you ask them for one. When in GH, stop by and try Joe's for breakfast. Next time I go, I will explore and try their lunch menu items.

I went here because I heard they had great food. Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed. I don't mind paying more for quality food, sadly they didn't have it. The french toast was soggy and overly sweet and the coffee tasted burned. This place isn't worth the hype. There are other great breakfast places around the area I would recommend instead.

Visiting friends in California and staying within walking distance of this wonderful breakfast/lunch café. Delicious coffee and yummy food to follow. Every breakfast dish was beautifully presented and tasted divine. Very friendly and super efficient wait-staff. Everything is done quickly and orderly in a very small area. They also sell their fresh, house-made jam...try it, you won't be disappointed. Inside and outside seating; we waited only a few minutes to be seated inside. Always a bowl of clean water and biscuits for the doggies available outside the door. Great prices, delicious food and wonderful wait-staff...who could ask for more!

My wife and I have visited this restaurant twice in the last two weeks, it is amazing. Great menu and great outdoor comfortable seating. Excellent, friendly and attentive staff. The lunch menu is filled with dishes to satisfy every family member and served in generous portions.

The food here is always delicious. It's a little expensive, but not a budget breaker. The only downside to Joe's is its size. There are very few tables inside and not many more on the street. The wait can get a little long at peak times, but the food is worth it. Definitely worth a try.

Joe's café was so good, we went 2 days in a row! Their coffee, fresh squeezed juice!! And oh the pork!

I took my girlfriend out to dinner for her birthday. Researched the restaurants near her home. Joes Cafe rated #3 in the area. I ordered the Lasagna. It was so salty I couldn't eat it. Was the worst lasagna I've ever eaten. I don't like to complain or send back food but I really should have. I won't go back again.

Really liked the decor and food but prices were a little much. A breakfast for 2 was $45 (including tip). Not sure I’d come back. was $45

Joe's cafe is opened for breakfast and lunch. Excellent food and friendly staff. I recommend the grill cheese pulled pork sandwich with extra cheese.

Our meal was good, but definitely overpriced for what you get. They left the spicy jam off my sandwich, and the house salad was the worst I have ever had. Nothing but lettuce and dressing.

This place is well known for breakfast/brunch, but I recently came here for dinner and had a great experience. Our server was super friendly and had some excellent recommendations for things to try. We started with the avocado bruschetta, which was *delicious*- so much so that I'm determined to try and replicate it at home. Also had the cast iron ribeye- perfectly cooked and oh-so-tender, plus it's a really generous cut of meat that meant I had leftovers for a meal or two the next day. If the samoa cheesecake is on the menu (it was a special item the day were there), would highly recommend that as well.

I've only gone there for breakfast, where I've had waffles, eggs, french toast, and breakfast sandwiches (croissants). It's a trendy place where the employees are very friendly. You order at the counter and they bring you the food. The only downside is the place is too small. Very little seating inside, so you'll probably need to eat on the sidewalk, where they put folding chairs and tables out during the day.

Small quaint place in Granada hills with nice friendly service, good coffee and amazing berries and oats...It doesn't sound exiting however it was one of the best I ever had

So great to have a wonderful restaurant on this side of the valley and not have to go to the Blvd., Venice, or Melrose for a great meal, fresh ingredients, and well prepared. Had a hamburger for lunch. The chalkboard describes it as half pound. The sauces, avacado creme, jalepeno (mild but flavorful), smoked chedder, etc., was delicious and juicy. The restaurant is small and is known for their breakfast menu. They don't take reservations, but when I went, the service was very accomodating and they text you on progress of your table. Oh-and their bacon and chocolate chip cookie is a must-Delicious!

Florida girl travels to the Valley for family business and is desperate for a fun dining spot mid-morning Cali-time. We found it at Joe's. It was a Thursday morning, and the place was packed! We waited at the bar enjoying mimosas made with fresh-squeezed OJ, and they were delicious. Everything we ordered...all brunchie type meals...were fantastic. P-cake balls were my favorite though. Should I ever be back to Granada Hills, I would make a point of going to Joe's Cafe again...perhaps breakfast and dinner!

They recently expanded and boy did they need to! It was busy and I couldn't be happier for them. The food was great and the staff very friendly. I like seeing the mom &pop places succeed! Went there for breakfast and then dinner, which is a new venture for them. Both times excellent! Highly recommend for "food done good"

We tried Joe’s for the first time. It did not disappoint. The food was tasty and portioned well. Prices were a bit steep for Chicken and Waffles plus Eggs Benedict...50$ But overall everything was wonderful. The servers were pleasant and very attentive. Expect a long wait on weekends.

Joe's is this little cafe in the middle of the city's stores. There is always a line. My friend and I sat at the bar and had a great view of the kitchen and all the food coming in and out. We asked the waiter what his favorite thing was and we ordered that! It was called, The Cure! You cannot go wrong with sausage, eggs, Gouda on a pretzel bun! And we also had the stuffed French toast! Both were very good, but the Cure is definitely the winner! The coffee was not too good..super bitter, but we drank it anyway. Despite this, we will be back!!!

One,if not the best,Breakfasts Ever...sat at bar and watched Joe "do his thing"...quick,clean and everybody really nice...there Was a wait and I assume there is usually so be prepared for it...space was tight but I noticed that they are moving/expanding couple doors down and that might help

Actually went on Yelp for reviews of restaurants in Granada Hills (north San Fernando Valley) and found Joe's Cafe. Met a friend there for lunch today. Wow! Loved the vibe, and my grilled chicken sandwich with melted brie and bacon with sweet potato fries was AWESOME! I would never think of going to a restaurant in this part of the Valley, but I will happily make the trip soon for a great meal. Joe's Cafe has kind of a modern, hip industrial vibe with an open kitchen. The service was great - friendly, relaxed but our waitress was very helpful in making sure my food was gluten free. BTW the breakfast menu looked great too but we had lunch. If you are in the area, go to Joe's Cafe - you'll be glad you did!

Random stop here on Saturday for a late lunch - cause we were travelling with a guy named Joe - so the choice was easy. The restaurant - wow! This is home made style, stomach filling, mouth satisfying food here. Waitress brought out some sweet bread pieces before our meal to try with both a berry jam type of dip, and a spicy tomato dip - a nice start to the visit here. We had a pancakes platter with berries - the berries alone were probably a whole basket full. These were good. But then I also got a veggie omelette with tomatoes, mushrooms, and the smoked cheese. One bite, and I was calling this among the best omelettes I have ever had in my life. It was spectacular. Also added the potatoes and toast to the meal - and didn't have to have dinner that night. A good selection of baked goods in the front as well, including some spectacular looking pop tarts. Service was attentive enough. The only negative here was the menus were a bit on the ratty side - but then again, kind of fit with the industrial ambience of the joint. Eat at Joe's my friends.

My college roommate & I were here last night with her teenage daughter. I now want to come back for breakfast next time I am in town. The blue cheese stuffed bacon wrapped dates had crispy bacon & sweet, tender dates inside with a nice amount of cheese yet not overpowering, laying in a delicate bed on Honey Dijon mustard. The scallops were seared nicely with a brandy Creme sauce on top of a corn fritter. I would have liked to try more then a bite of the short ribs my friend ordered but everything was very filling and so much flavor. Next time we will save room for dessert. Great place to catch up and enjoy dinner together.
Disappoibted
This restaurant is close to home so decided to give it a try. In a few months, the restaurant is moving into a bigger space, but at its current location, the table space is tight. I ordered a vegetarian, make your own omelette. However, as I ate it, I found two small pieces of bacon in it. I sent it back and they happily made me something else. For 11.99, I was disappointed that it didn't come with fruit or potatoes. For me, this place is simply ok.
