Five of us shared a delicious meal here on a Tuesday evening. The place was full with a lively buzz. The menu had a good range of choices. Our favourite was the lobster ravioli starter - superb! We had a range of meals from fish choices to steak to salads. All were beautifully cooked and delivered with attentive but not intrusive service.

Our server Bonnie was amazing and every suggestion she made turned out to be perfect. From martinis to the wine she suggested for me, to appetizers and entrees she steered us in the perfect direction. Everything was great, but stand outs were the chargrilled oysters, salad and my prime rib. After a long stressful drive this was such a welcoming place and we left so content. Can’t wait to return.

My family dined at Joey D's for the Veterans Day Appreciation dinner. Our experience was wonderful! From the time we entered, we were greeted warmly by a hostess, Tiffany. She was very friendly and pleasant. She took our names, engaged us in conversation and once we revealed that we were all veterans, she thanked us for our service and appeared to be genuinely happy that we were there. The wonderful service continued with our server, Richie. He was such a joy! He was patient as we looked over the menu and changed our minds a few times. One person in our party asked his opinion on her selection and he reassured him that the selection was a good one, but if he did not like the entree, it could be changed. He continued to be attentive all evening, and we did not have to look around for him when we needed refills on our water. Although the restaurant was busy, Richie always had a smile for us, and checked to make sure we were always ok. The food was absolutely delicious! I had the garlic strip and it was cooked to perfection! The food and these two members of the Joey D's Staff, Tiffany and Richie, made our dining experience most memorable. We will definitely be back, and tell our friends about the great food, service and atmosphere at Joey D's.

Service was slow, food was bad. When I pay $60 for a steak, I expect it to be at least average. We ordered two and they were both undercooked and essentially raw. The chicken parm looked like it had been slopped on like at an army cafeteria. The Caesar salad was swimming in dressing. The lettuce was rusty and wilted. Waiter tried at first, but then disappeared pretty quickly after the initial introduction. Never took our drink order. The food servers brought the plates with their thumbs literally in our food. To add the final insult, the waiter actually confronted me at the table and started questioning me about his service in a rather aggressive way - and I had left him a 15% tip which was generous considering the poor service and food. I spoke with the manager on our way out and she seemed genuine and concerned, but of course did nothing, just sent us on our way.

Visited here with a friend whilst we were in Atlanta. Restaurant was recommended by one of the receptionist at the hotel. Really good recommendation. I had my first chocolate martini this trip and, boy, was it good. It was busy and everone seemed to be enjoying their meals. We started with an Onion Loaf (onion rings to you and me) and Garlic Crab Claws. Both delish. We shared a fillet mignon and broiled salmon portabello with the inevitable salad, roll and a baked potato. Having said the inevitable salad, it was lovely. We each had a glass of the house red wine. Yum yum., Waiter was a bit non-smiley when we arrived but we soon brought him round. Dessert menu was disappointing with only 3 items. Only complaint was that I ordered an Irish coffee and when I came back from the restrooms, a green thing awaited me - my Irish coffee. As I said it was green and tasted of mint. Yuk. It was swiftly removed so no harm done. Recommended and if I am ever in Atlanta gain, I will return.

Nice place. The service was good. I had the ribs and my wife had the ribeye. The ribs were good but my wife's steak was burnt too much on the outside and was more medium-rare than medium-well. It was also dry and not seasoned very well. The cheesecake and key lime pie were very good. I would probably go back If we lived on the north side.

Visited this past Saturday 12/20 for our family’s Christmas gathering. As usual, the food was sublime and service exceptional. Special thanks to David , our server, who did an excellent job of serving and carried on an interesting and humerus conversation. Special thanks!

Not the best restaurant I've been. Food was just ok. Expensive and very poorly lit. Has to use cell phone light to read menu. Go somewhere else

Jermaine, our server was GREAT! As always the croissants, garlic crap legs, and filet mignon were AMAZING! Thank you Chef Antonio for always sharing your delectable creations with us.

Great service, wonderful staff. Qe had a large party of 15 and our servers were awesome. Food and drinks good.

I walked over twice for 2 really good martinis (blue cheese stuffed olives-thank you very much) and actually had dinner the 1st night. Oyster shooters were good, nothing exceptional. BUT the BIG angus beef rib was fabulous but a little pricey. Hugh piece of meat almost brisket like. Very good. In fact took some back and had a late night snack. Staff was attentive and friendly but a little busy but I was not in a hurry. Night 2 was also good. Just had the grilled oysters. Cooked a little long and cheese was stuck to the dish but very tasty once you got it loose.

I went here with my Mom and enjoyed a lovely meal of New Orleans-inspired dishes. I had the Crawfish Bayou Barataria and had enough leftover for lunch the next day. We had a great time, so I will be bringing my other half here ASAP!

I recently attended a business dinner. If this review was based on my arrival experience it would be 1 star as I did not enjoy waiting to check in while the host and a server were having an extended verbal altercation with both knowing I was standing and waiting Overall the food was excellent. The house salad, ribeye steak and baked potato was all served fresh and made to order. The ambiance offers a nice place to discuss business matters in a comfortable way while having a meal. The service was a bit slow however given the restaurant was extremely busy I completely understand some of the delays between getting drinks, salads and main courses The prices are very reasonable as your entree includes two sides. After getting passed the initial altercation it turned out to. E a great meal

We came up from Macon Ga with our Next Door Neighbors To Celebrate His 60 th Birthday. Got a room at Embassy Suites and shuttled on over for Our Happy Hour And Dinner..Amazing Bar With Beverage Choices To The Ceiling. A Rolling Ladder was in Place to Grab Your Flavor ! This was a Sat Nite And it was packed . A Rather Large Bar that needed at least one more Bartender than the Two they had. They Did Their Best and Were Cuties. Just too crowded for Quick Service. Got seated within 15 minutes. The waiter was attentive and the 6 Oyster Shooters were Delectable. My First Time Doing That!! Fillets were Tender And Cooked To Perfection. Birthday Boy Received A Delicious Cheesecake on the House!! Great Experience and Food!! We will be Back!!

Showed up at 8:00 for prime rib. Thirty mins. later was informed there was no prime rib left. Ordered other items and at 9:30 had not been served. Asked for the check and was given the wrong check. Walked out without paying for a round of drinks; my time is worth something. The owners should probably stick with the business they know, retail liquor sales.

Went with 6 coworkers in town for meetings. Had reservations. It was very crowded and loud; hard to find parking. Food was very good and generous servings. I had prime rib, salad, and creamed spinach. Drinks were good. Service attentive. A bit pricey.

I loved the restaurant, the food was good. The price was average and it was enough for a to-go plate. The staff was very nice too

Huge selection at the bar, with great bartenders. The wait was over 1/2 an hour for a table, but it was not a hardship. One of us had a steak and the other a BBQ Beef sandwich. Both with chef salads. Greens were top notch and crispy. Our waiter was attentive, but not pushy, so nice work guy. Mixed drinks a little pricey, but I would go back.

I eat out almost everyday and I have to say this is one of the best meals I have had in a long time. Service was superb, food was excellent and price was in line with quality. I will be back and highly recommend!!

Joey D's is a great standby in the Perimeter area- I moved to the South side of town and haven't been back for probably 10+ years. Went up for dinner there tonight with my wife and it was just as great as I remembered. Steaks were perfectly cooked and seasoned, and the service was wonderful. All of the staff had great smiles and personalities and did a great job.

Had a company meeting in Sandy Springs for a few days. Walked over to Joey D's for dinner. What a great choice.... Food was outstanding. Service was very good. Seated right away... food was served in a timely manner. All of the food choices were very good. Can not go wrong, very good place to eat and unwind.

My husband and I visited Joey D's for our 39th wedding anniversary. Having dined there before, we knew it was a good choice. Did not disappoint! The (huge) bowl of she crab soup (be sure to ask for the sherry on the side) was absolutely perfect...and only $7!!!!! We dined on steak and chicken, perfectly prepared. Everything was topped off with Bread Pudding. Wonderful service. Such a great ambiance. Don't miss this gem!

I had actually stopped going here years ago for Consistently terrible service and sub par food. We went out with a group of friends this weekend and they made reservations here. I though maybe things had improved since my last visit but the exact same overall poor service, overcrowded poorly run establishment. The food isn’t bad per say it’s just run of the mill at best at an extremely inflated price. I would put it in the league of a chills just with worse service and and a lot of pomp and circumstance. No idea how they receive good reviews, I guess a great location and air of supposed fine dinning is all it takes for some.

Joey D's is a very good restaurant normally - the food is delivered on point and the service is usually excellent. On this particular day, we found our lunch experience less than par. First, it is extremely loud. You need to know that going in. As we had a large round table for 6, it was difficult to hear each other across the table. Our service was average at best. We had to make several requests for water and drink refills and the extra salad dressing someone requested. The bisque was delivered cold and the steak salad was average with the meat slightly overcooked. We may try it again, but with so many restaurants competing for the dining dollar, this experience did not make anyone want to hurry back.

Joey D's has been around forever, and has a rock solid menu with strong execution of the food backed by good service. A simple recipe for being successful for such a long time. It has open with lots of windows, and a beautiful bar area. The ribs, prime rib, and entree salads are all amazing and the portions are always big. Parking around the restaurant is free, but it can get crowded and at the peak times there can be a few minute wait to get a space. It is, however, worth the wait.

We have eaten several times at Joey D's. The service by David this time was impeccable, as always. We were entertaining friends so we tried a variety of items. Each item was excellent except for the Chef's Special, a sea bass. For starters, the Caesar and House salads, meatballs, baby crab dip, and she crab soup were amazingly delicious. We could have stopped eating after all of this wonderful food. For main courses, one of our group tried the chef's special sea bass. My advice would be to "stay in your lane" as this wasn't good. The Barbecue beef ribs, Baby Back ribs, and crab fingers were excellent. The desserts looked wonderful, but after all those appetizers, no one had any room for dessert.

Nice restaurant with a high energy atmosphere. Sat at the bar for drinks and dinner. Bartender was very good and made a great drink. We split a 22oz ribeye cooked perfect. Their house salad is the best I've had. Full of goodies. My only complaint is watching the bartender walk ON the bar to get bottles of liquor from the extremely high shelves. While he is provided with a library ladder to climb to retrieve these bottles, he chooses to walk on the bar, right over top of the mint that he was using in customers drinks. YUCK!

Extremely mad with myself for driving past this place hundreds of time. The dining experience coupled with the taste of each meal was WELL ABOVE AVERAGE. Heard about the Charbroiled oysters and as much as I wanted to say they aren’t as good as the ones I’ve had in New Orleans I can’t . My only gripe would be that they don’t come in a larger quantity or in a Rockefeller version. I was torn between the Ribeye and the Prime Rib( I’m a Big fan of Ribeyes , but Heard a lot about the Prime Rib) , so I ordered BOTH. My only mistake was trying the Prime Rib 1st.. it was so moist and tasteful that I didn’t even want the Ribeye anymore ( I still ate it ). Passed on the bake potato for the Alfredo linguini . It was pretty good , not great but not bad. Every item I felt was reasonably priced and worth more after tasting it. If I’d change one thing it would be the wine list..!it didn’t offer comparable choices for such a quality meal. I’ll be back

While traveling for business, I found this jewel by my hotel. The service was excellent and the menu choices were vast. I know many come for the steaks, but I enjoyed a wonderful pasta with grilled shrimp and mushrooms. It came with a slice of crusty French bread. The side Caesar salad was a great appetizer. The server was attentive and took great care of me. I highly recommend.

Has to be one of the BEST meals I have ever had! Prime Rib....perfect. We were celebrating our daughter's birthday. Hubby & daughter had steak. Also perfect. The She Crab soup is a MUST! Heaven! Salad so fresh. Homemade dressings, yum! And the warm croissants, out of this world! We were stuffed, but we had to try a couple desserts. The bread pudding and chocolate cake......oh my gosh! Soooooo delicious! And last but not least, our waiter, Courtney K....super fantastic! His recommendations were spot on. He was the best waiter we have ever had at a restaurant. Friendly, knowledgeable, polite and courteous. Thank you Courtney! You are the best!

I see that I gave Joey D's five stars in 2014. I would have given them three or three and one half this time, but out of loyalty, I rated them with four. My wife and I have been dining at Joey D's for close to 20 years. Until the past couple of years we went there at least once a month mostly for the prime rib which we considered the best in Atlanta, at any price. We love the bar and have always enjoyed dining in one of their cozy booths. About a year or two ago, the quality of prime rib appeared to slip. Out of a sense of loyalty (after all, we are talking about a 20 year relationship) we would periodically return to try the prime rib. It had become exceedingly fatty and typically was over cooked or under cooked. We returned recently and gave what we hate to think was our last try. We each enjoyed a nice cocktail at the bar before heading to our booth. Our salads were excellent, as were our vegetables. Each of our prime ribs looked beautiful, with no excess fat, but that is where it stopped. The meat was tough and tasteless. Also, it was served luke warm at best. That was a sad meal for us as it brings to an end our 20 years of patronage.

I have been a longtime customer and the food has always been good- Yesterday, I order three barbeque sandwiches with bake potatoes and took them home- There was one little slice of beef in each one. I called the manager and told him that I paid over 60 dollars for bread and cheese . After yelling me he then offered to rectify the situation.

Its just loud and conversation is not easy. The volume of the guests talking plus loud piped in music makes this tough for a table of six to talk. That said, very good food, very good service, very clean. Higher end and cocktail/wine prices are high. The BBQ chicken is excellent.

Ambiance was quite tasteful with the architecture being the key asset. Music a bit too loud but decent. Service was very polite ,expedient, and memorably excellent- without going over the top. The food and other requests arrived quickly and as ordered. I had the low-carb filet mignon salad with vinaigrette dressing. Dressing was good but nothing to write home about. Salad fresh but chopped too finely. Filet did seem a tad less fresh as it could have been- taste a tiny bit off. She Crab bisque-like soup was excellent with a rich, deep flavor and a decent amount of crab meat. Suggested tip on bill calculated on AFTER-tax basis; this should NEVER be.

This is a fantastic eating establishment. The food was incredible, the restaurant is stunning and so clean. Our server Brandon was an absolute delight, he had wonderful recommendations and each of them was absolutely on point. The prime rib was amazing, flavorful and buttery. Highly recommend the honey butter croissants on the appetizer menu. Not expensive so it's great for families that may be traveling on a budget.

We went there for my friend’s 30th birthday thinking that it was a good place to eat being that we were from out of town and didn’t want to eat at places we eat at at home. I’ll just say for a $34 steak it was nasty! They had something that said New Orleans on the menu so I’m like yes let’s try that. Wrong move! $300 tab all was for nothing. Definitely want be back

Ate here twice in two days while traveling for work. Dinner the first evening, lunch the next day. Ate outside (outdoor seating) as the weather was perfect, and because of COVID-19. Both times I ate here, the food was great. The service was pretty good as well, even though we were outside. I would go back again if I was in the same area.

Excellent food but poor service. Steak was terrific! Sat at the bar and the two bartenders were more focused on their dating apps and relationships than the customers. I had to ask twice for second drink and was mostly ignored. The food runners were more focused on service! Next time I will get a table for more personalized service and see if I can get to 4 or 5 stars!

After having seen this place for years, I finally experienced by having lunch with some friends. Two of us had the excellent she crab soup and a salad (inconsistently dressed with house dressing - one salad with too much dressing and one salad was dressed only on one side but dressing was very good). Another person had a steak salad which she said was yummy. Service was attentive although the restaurant was packed. The sun was a bit problematic for our table by the window and there were no shades to adjust. Desserts were large and delicious.

Joey D's was the very first restaurant I ate at over 24 years ago when I first moved to Atlanta. I used to go often Over the last 18 years, with having a young family, we stopped going. Now that my kids are older, I have been there about 5 times in last year. We live in Dunwoody, GA and Dunwoody struggles to keep good solid restaurants with great atmosphere. A group of 6 of us wanted to go out for a nice meal. I convinced my friends to go to Joey D's as I knew they served a variety of foods that should satisfy most patrons and the ambiance is usually better than a chain restaurant but not too upscale that you feel like you have to dress up. By the end of our evening, we all had to laugh in order to get through the comedy of failures that happened while we were there. They sat us extremely fast..for a Saturday night; however within 30 seconds of sitting down, three of us were literally getting a "rain shower" from the large A/C venting above our head. There initial solution, move the table. we moved. Still getting rained on, we moved again. Now instead of it splashing on us it was getting in our wine glasses. We continued to slide the table away ..as we also kept squooshing closer and closer together on the opposite side of the table to get away from the drip. We finally found a position that we thought would keep us from the drip. The waitress offered to move us once a table opened up. As this was happening, twice we had waiters approach us with other tables food. When the drinks were originally brought to the table, they gave one of us someone elses wine and didn't bring another person her wine until we asked. They removed the wine that had been dripped in (and later charged us for that replacement wine). It took more than a normal amount of time to order our meal (we had completely eaten our appetizers and had been sitting there for probably 10-15 minutes). While waiting for food, another waiter dropped a marinara sauce on the ground behind us and my friend (who was wearing a light tan shirt) received a literal shower of red marina sauce all (like 5 blotches about inch an half each blotch). At this point, we were all laughing because we couldn't believe how bad the night was going and of course they were teasing me for recommending this restaurant. Also note, the table next to us had the same water dripping issue..yet we noticed they tried to sit at least 4 other parties at this table..and each time the patrons would ask to be moved within 30 seconds of being rained on. We were all shocked that no manager had come over yet to talk to us. I then asked to speak to manager. 2-3 minutes later..some guy comes over and starts cleaning up the sauce..but never introduced himself... I then ask him for the manager again..He shockingly tells me he is the manager. (Why he didn't introduce himself and immediately offer us some remedy.. I have no idea). They eventually moved us to another table. Once we were down, the waitress give us the check..with no comments of apology. We open the check up expecting something to be taken off.. NOTHING was taken of the bill ! I immediately found the manager. I politely (as best as I could) explained how I had recommended this restaurant and am very embarrassed at the comedy of errors. However, I said if you had introduced yourself and offered a remedy ..besides moving us.. (and offering to pay for dry cleaning of shirt), we would have felt that the restaurant was taking care of its customers. I politely asked that he "make this right" He agreed. The manager came back and the bill went from $227 down to $113 plus tax. In addition, he handed us each a $10 gift card for the restaurant (So another $50) So after all was said and done.. Joey D's made it right.. But we obviously were not impressed with the events..Now on opposite side, I had brought my out of town (MA) family and my GA family to the restaurant back in May for my son's high school graduation celebration meal. EVERY single one of us was completely satisfied with the food and the customer service and ambiance. The only negative for that night was the acoustics in there are not great so if the restaurant is crowded, it is very difficult to have conversations among yourself because its is so loud. So would I recommend.. Yes I still would. Not all their food is amazing..but generally it is pretty good. The salads and butter croissants remind me of Brookwood Grill. The ribs are hit or miss..sometimes they are amazing and others times over cooked. So sort of depends on what you get and who is the cook. But I still think it is a good place to go.. (although all my friends handed me their gift cards..because I dont think they will be coming back :(

Why were so many people at Joey D's on a Tuesday night? The service was nonexistent. I had to shove my way between the bar seats to order a drink. We waited 1 and a half hours for a table. The steak was hard and no steak knife was provided. The tom Collins was served in a short glass and the Bloody Mary was all tomato juice.

Great dinner !!! Ryan made it extra special with outstanding service!!! Make sure you get a table in his section. He anticipates what yo need before you know you want it.

Wow just wow! My waitress Morgan was so sweet, incredible service and just made me feel so comfortable, I didn’t want to go back to the hotel and she never rushed me. The food? Just delicious, even their croissant 🤯 the drinks just amazing. Five stars all around 🌟

Joey Ds has long been a family favorite, and we've typically had memorable meals enjoying their excellent food and service there. My husband and I took clients/friends there last evening, and both the service and food were poor at best. I don't know that I've ever written a negative review but I felt like I needed to document our evening. Very, very slow, poor service. I don't remember our waiter's name. My prime rib was tough and chewy; creamed spinach was lukewarm. Our guests never got some of the courses they asked for, and when after waiting a good while they told our waiter not to bother with...baked potato and French onion soup, the waiter brought it out anyway...much later. Multiple times, other waiters tried to put food on our table, realizing that just about when they were to place the food, they were at the wrong booth. Our guests were just as nice about all this as they could be, but my husband and I were upset and embarrassed. We never mentioned anything to the management. Sometimes it's better to just pay the bill and leave...

Nice interior, waiter was not to keen on the job. Calamari where ok, but blant incl the tomato sauce. Lobster ravioli the same blat and far too much sauce. Very disappointing.

Old school dining at it's finest, one would think. Nice menu, full bar, attentive wait staff. However the pace seemed a little slow. Appetizers were very good. Oyster shooters and peel and eat shrimp. Salads, steaks, and seafood choices. The very odd thing was we and other tables were panhandled at the table, in the restaurant. How this happens I have no idea, and the manager was quick to try and remove the lady, but it was awkward at best.

Three friends met here for dinner, which was delicious. House salads were large; house dressing is unusual and delicious. Large portion of blackened salmon was prepared medium as requested. Shrimp pasta was loaded with large shrimp and very tasty.Crawfish and andouille pasta was so good - the sauce, wow! We also had the brownie dessert and the bread pudding. Brownie was good, but the bread pudding was superb. Light and loaded with raisins - not your mother's heavy bread pudding. Highly recommended! Service was excellent, too.

Food tasted good when it finally arrived in 45 minutes. The soup was served in a tin cup sitting inside the soup bowl. It was cold. I'm not impressed.

Normally Joey D’s can be relied on for a solid meal with excellent service. While they provided decent service, the food had issues. I hate being high maintenance and rarely send food back but they managed to get everything I ordered wrong without exception. Simple meal: house salad (no bacon) - they brought it mounded with bacon. Steak, medium rare and their veggie is the day, sautéed spinach. They brought creamed spinach, then raw spinach. Steak came well done. Sigh. Everyone else got their meal correct. We all had ordered the sautéed spinach and laughed about our common tastes so we couldn’t understand how mine came wrong (twice!). Waiter never apologized and when the steak came back, the kitchen person practically threw it down in front of me to the surprise of everyone at the table (who had all long since finished eating). The second steak was raw. Rather than say anything I just bagged it up to take home to my dog. I would rate it one star if it was based solely on my experience but the others enjoyed their meals so it gets three.

We stumbled on this popular restaurant just driving by. Even though it was busy, we were seated right away. Service was great! Great atmosphere, white tablecloths, etc. I had the baked shrimp fettuccine and a salad. Both were very good! The honey croissant that comes with the salad is to die for (you can order a basket of them). My husband had steak with caramelized onions and steak fries. Delicious!

Stopped by here for a quick bite on recent travel through Atlanta because this was nearby the Sandy Springs MARTA station. Place was packed on a Friday so I thought this was a good sign. I sidled up to the bar and took stock of the vast array of spirits lining the walls to the ceiling. A friendly bartender quickly approached and I was soon served a libation of choice that was cold and tasty. On the bartender's recommendation, I ordered the spicy Orleans-style shrimp with heads on and they were, as advertised, quite flavorful and juicy. My bride soon joined me and we enjoyed a tasty and tangy salad as well. From there, unfortunately, the food quality dropped off dramatically. I ordered a chopped steak smothered in onions which was pretty much flavorless. My bride had a steak sandwich that could suffered from the same lack of luster. Given our experience, we would recommend as a place for cocktails and appetizers but not for a first-rate dinner. While the service was good, the food just did not measure up.

Our party of 8 had a great experience with a lot of laughter, Great food and excellent service by Jacob!

I loved this place. The food was delicious, the drinks were great, the ambiance was perfect. Went on a Friday evening around 9pm and it wasn't extremely crowded. Steaks were cooked to perfection with great flavor. Service was great as well. I will definitely be back. You HAVE to eat the honey butter croissants.

A interesting blend of Cajun dishes and traditional steakhouse. I sat at the bar which with its floor to ceiling racks of liquor was impressive. She crab soup is a must, as were the oyster vodka shooters. Also if your staying at a local hotel you get $10 off any appetizer.! Service was somewhat slow and disinterested, but otherwise ok.

Expected a bone-in Kansas City steak on a Saturday night- and they don’t have any??? Ate the ribeye, which was delicious- as was the potato, salad and cosmo! Still, how can they be out of strip steaks???- lowered the review by three stars. Unacceptable for an otherwise excellent steakhouse.

Have to go every few months for the mamouth RUBEN sandwhich. It is so big, I eat half there, take the other half home. Comes with a great pickle as well. Have had steak & other food, also good.

My family and I have been coming to this restaurant for over five years and it’s always been one of our favorites! We recently had dinner there and were very disappointed. We thought it was probably a one off, so we brought our entire family back after Thanksgiving to try again. The service was abysmal, it took over 20 minutes just to get water on the table! We actually had to go speak to someone about our server. My husband and I both ordered steaks and they were charred and way over cooked. All in all, we decided we will not be coming back which is very sad for us as we’ve always loved Joey D’s. We’ve been wondering if perhaps they’re under new management? :(

This restaurant is a place where many business lunches take place! I did not know what to expect looking at it from the outside, however upon entering the establishment was live and full of energy! Reservations were made prior to our arrival and we were seated promptly! The waiter was friendly and attentive. I ordered the blackened salmon with mushrooms and steamed spinach! Everything was flavorful and cooked to perfection. Prices are a slightly on the higher end for a lunch/dinner, however well worth the price.

One of my colleagues told me about this place. She said the oysters were amazing. I’m not a big oyster fan but had the hamburger. Not bad. Fries were a bit dry but okay. Key lime pie was a bit too sweet but good nevertheless. Great atmosphere and great service. And reasonable prices.

I would give it a 5 but the one problem I have is the noise level and “crowded” feel. Our table butted up against 2 others such that the lady behind lee bumped me a couple of times. My bone in ribeye was cooked to perfection, it was delicious with a great flavor and just amount of char. My wife absolutely loved her marinated chicken it was melting off the bone and so flavorful. Professional courtesy service. One of our favorite places.

Hot off the Presses! Family Reunion LET DOWN. I am in town for business with a very large company in the Perimeter/Sandy Springs, GA area and decided to meet up with some cousins that I missed during last Christmas season. Let me start out with the hostess was pleasant and professional. We were seated it took our server 15 minutes to get to Us (restaurant not crowded-it's Tuesday). The waitress Kayla from the start was awful, took her another 15 minutes and that's with an inquiry to say "excuse me miss we don't have water or silverware. I've been to Joey D's 10 times before and have never experienced something like this. The lazy and rude waitress Kayla then argues with my family member about a dressing for her side salad that "Kayla" made the mistake on. Who argues with a paying customer over salad dressing in a 4-5 star restaurant?? server 101 class clearly was skipped! Well they do that over at Joey D's. The food was average, my filet that was medium felt like rubber, the swordfish special could've been used for a basketball and the oddest part is the waitress actually thought she was doing a good job. Then she had the nerve to leave the check come back, rush us to leave and then says " let me move that check out of your way". First-off the check wasn't in my way, 2nd my family member was finishing a glass of wine, thirdly KAYLA RUDELY counts the tip in front of Us. This was the rudest dining experience in a very long time and I WILL not be going back to Joey D's ever again. I ignored the reviews that said the service stunk. I am like there's no way it could be that bad since my last visit. I was WRONG!. Joey D management my bill was $140, you lost a repeat customer in me and I am letting every person in my company (large company in the area) that I can. I guarantee I will get asked in my am meetings.....how my dinner was last night? If this is how Joey D's treats paying customers who are polite oh by the way still tipped 18% even though Kayla was a 2 star performer at best (being generous)and came very close to getting a $0 tip. Management should be ASHAMED OF YOUR STAFF SELECTIONS and lack of awareness as this isn't the first time according to other reviews. Ratings on Scale of 1-10 Service 2 ( should be zero but hostess was nice) Food 4 ( bland, dry over cooked and over priced, awful portions) Personal Waitress KAYLA gets a 0...MADAM you Shouldn't be in the service industry ever again. Joey D or whomever the patron is should really consider serious serious serious training for his staff because service like this won't be tolerated when consumers have so many other options. SHAKE MY HEAD!!! Can't believe I have to even write this kind of review, I prefer referring people instead of deterring. DO BETTER Foodie and now permanently Former Customer. ONE FINAL SHAKE MY HEAD at Kayla. I am just baffled! Who raised you?

The last time I visited Joey D’s was in 1991. My wife asked me what to order. In her state of gestation, everything downed soon came back up, so I suggested something inexpensive. During a visit a few days ago, I was impressed by the changes. Great menu, excellent service, nice ambience, certainly up-scaled from the early 1990s. I ordered the corned beef sandwich. The fries were absolutely fabulous. The sandwich was large, well-constructed, with a considerable amount of meat. Sadly, that day at least, the corned beef was rather tough, so tough it was actually difficult to eat it as a sandwich. Had it been tender, as expected, I would award Joey D’s five stars.

I have been going to Joey D's for over 8 years now when in town for business. They have a awesome selection of Whiskey, Scotch, Bourbon tequila and wine. The BBQ Beef Rib is fantastic, Just love going to this spot, but it is always crowded so make a reservation if you plan on dining.

Friendly people, place is very close of hotel and work! Very helpful and nice place for a happy hour as well! I can recommend this place abs return there!

I have frequented this restaurant over the years, and they continue to deliver good food and service. Lunch is slammed with business patrons, so recommend to get there before noon. The menu has a nice variety of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, burgers, and entrees.

Joey D’s Oak room is a North Atlanta staple that has been there ever since I can remember. Having lived in Atlanta for over 25 years, it’s hard to believe this is only my second visit. I was invited by a business colleague and found the crowd to be a mix of business and leisure diners. Upon being seated I had to use a few sugar packets to level my table, something the staff should have already handled before service. Our waiter was friendly and prompt, but lacked follow-up and accuracy. The hamburger that I ordered was exceptional, but the french fries were cold and a bit soggy. My colleagues lunch which was a chicken pasta dish looked very good, and she agreed that it was delicious.

I wanted to write an excellent review for this place but I just couldn't go past very good. The bar area is beautiful and the shining spot at this restaurant for sure. I had the prime rib, which was a decent cut of meat, but so, so fatty. Now I know prime rib is fatty but this steak was at least half fat. Disappointed in that. Drinks took a long time and I ran out of water, so that's always a minus. BUT---the crab soup saved the meal for it. It was pretty darn good for a land locked city.

I have dined with Joey D's previously and love their bone-in ribeye. I even invited friends there for dinner. Today, the floor was extremely sticky before 5:30pm. The waiter brought 2 dirty glasses of water and switched it out with no apology. The bone-in was a complete disappointment as it had no taste (almost like no salt and pepper) Cant figure out what went wrong when previous visits have always been amazingly delicious. Won't be returning.

First time at this restaurant and we were so pleased!! Quite busy for a Tueaday night but the food was worth the wait. The lobster ravioli was amazing!! The Reuben sandwich was huge and the chicken parmesean was perfect and both so tasty!! Highly recomend and definitely will be back!

We dine at Joey D's fairly regularly but surprisingly I have not taken the time to write a review. Tonight we had the best most attentive waiter that we have had in all our dining experiences there in the past many years. Andre anticipated our every need! He refilled before we even expected, checked in with us often, and even had the chef not "char" our steak as much as usual. In fact, he suggested the oysters that were incredible! Thanks, Andre for making out date night special! We'll be back soon!

Enjoyed the lunch with five of us attending. Service was a little slow to get started but was very attentive after that. A large table was wrapping up next to us and I imaging contributed to the slower start. Have chicken parm and it was good. Others had entree salads and they all looked good and received positive comments. Would certainly return for a similar setting. I also looked forward to going there for dinner in the evening b

We don’t get to Atlanta very often but when we do we always look forward to a meal at Joey D’S and it was the perfect setting this weekend to celebrate our wedding anniversary. After cocktails we both chose the filet mignon with salads and sides of a baked potato and roasted carrots. We topped it off with a shared slice of cheesecake. The meal was delicious as always. Our server Bonnie was fantastic and made sure that we were able to enjoy our time together and not feel rushed.

Joey D’s opened in 1988, and I was there within a few days. I’ve probably eaten two hundred meals there. A recent move out of state stopped the frequent visits for great steak. A meal there last week confirmed that everything is as it should be. The only thing that has changed since the last visit is the blue cheese dressing, which is even better than it used to be. Actually, the salad was even better as well. Ordered on the medium side of medium rare or the medium rare side of medium, the bone-in KC sirloin was as good as ever, maybe better. A baked potato with butter, cheese, and bacon was spot on. A Manhattan before the meal and a Sweetwater 420 on draft with were a perfect compliment. Don’t look for froufrou seasonal menu changes here. They don’t squirt balsamic vinegar on anything, thank God. The noise level remains as high as ever, though it doesn’t seem to keep the crowds away. The table service by Rossanna was professional yet friendly. She's marvelous. Joey D’s remains excellent in every way.

What a great meal, service, atmosphere and selection. My first time here and we will definitely be back. The blackened Mahi was unbelievable. This is a great place for all occasions

The service was excellent. Cocktails were prepared quickly and accurately. We split the Charbroiled Oysters which were absolutely delicious and came served with slices of French bread that was great for sopping up the buttery juice. I ordered the Caesar Salad and my guest ordered the house salad. They were both excellent. The Caesar is a classic style and the house salad is sort of a small cobb salad that I'm told was very good. We both ordered the Filet Mignon which was perfectly prepared. I ordered the charred broccoli as a side and my guest ordered a loaded baked potato. Both were excellent. Extra compliments on the charred broccoli which was deliciously prepared and tossed in Caesar dressing. TIP: At 4:30 on a Sunday afternoon it wasn't too crowded. It is easy to see how the restaurant could be loud if it were full.

The restaurant has great atmosphere. Service was excellent, and food is delicious. I had Georgia Trout for the main course, the fish is very fresh. They also has a great cocktail menu.

Ashley, our waitress, modeled all the rules of customer service. Swift and sweet service which is what you expect in the South! She should train others! She respected our wishes to take our time ordering and offered suggestions which we took and enjoyed. Her eye contact and warm personality was perfect for what we were celebrating and we would definitely request her service for a private party. The bathrooms are outdated and cold feeling. They need a make over indeed. I also don't like the hours of operation and that their aren't huge arrangement of flowers everywhere. They could easily get a florist to give them flowers in exchange for marketing their arrangements. In a space like that, I want to see plants and flowers. Also, where's the LIVE MUSIC!?

So I’ve been to this restaurant about 4 tines now because my partner lives their ribs. I think food is not bad but NOT great either. If we are in the area we might stop by but not going out of my way to eat there. I will start by sayin that wine was good and priced right. Prime rib was cooked right and juicy. The service was sketchy, we were sat right away and a few minutes later our server came to the table and with a weird almost squinting his eyes greeted us and kept looking back and forth at us like an SNL skit. I believe his name was Guy. He checked on us only once again when we were almost done with our food and without asking if we were done, gave us the check. I wanted dessert and an after dinner drink but after receiving the check there was no point in getting it. His loss. I KNOW that good service is hard to find he could have made a bigger tip if he would have just held on and simply asked if we needed anything else. It’s not like the place was crowded.

Went this afternoon for drinks & apps at the bar. Nice atmosphere (not stuffy) and great staff. Blonde bartender (Ellie, I think) really added to our experience. She was friendly, helpful and offered great recommendations. Made really nice cocktails after asking just a few questions to learn our preferences. And (just like she said) calamari was amazing! We will definitely be back!

While visiting Atlanta, my family and I were referred to Joey Ds for a delicious, wholesome meal. We visited during lunchtime and were impressed by the large portions. Our orders included a burger, parmesan crusted chicken, spicy chicken alfredo pasta, and crawfish and sausage pasta. Each of our meals were delicious and fulfilling - A BIT PRICEY, but delicious and plentiful! The atmosphere was pleasant and the restaurant itself was quaint and kind of empty at the time of our visit. We were told that Joey Ds in Atlanta is the only one in the country 🤔... Very interesting and an overall nice place to dine.

Enjoyed a wonderful steak and fresh fish dinner here last night. The place was very busy and very loud but we were seated right away. The service was excellent and always had a smile. Ashton took very good care of us and dinner was delicious. The bar was very busy and I saw the ladder being used to get a top shelf bottle for the first time. This is a restaurant worth visiting.

We went there today for lunch and I was given a gift card as a gift from my wife for father's day. We had a copy of the card and the email receipt for CentraArchy the parent company. When we went to use the $50 gift card they staff could not figure out how to use it and said it was not valid. We gave them the email confirmation as well and the manager was very rude and acted like we had a fake gift certificate. We have always liked the restaurant in the past but after such poor service and a rude Manager along with a Gift Card that we purchased for $50 that wasn't accepted we won't be back. We will be contacting the parent company to let them know they treated this card as if it was a scam which is also very embarrassing for us.

I've gone here several times and decided to do a review this time since the friends I was with relied heavily on me to provide recommendations during our New Year's Eve dinner. As I spoke to them, without providing much excitement, I realized that I come here for one thing, the ribeye steak. Everything else is just OK. If you're a steak lover like me, have the bone-in ribeye steak. I've had it several times and it doesn't disappoint. I eat my steak medium; it always comes out great and full of flavor. Now the sides? Nothing to remember here. I had the creamed spinach last time and only ate a couple bites. Other shortfalls: Oysters Rockefeller - I've had better on a budget cruise line Crab claws - Just OK, but got a little salty and dry after a while (good portion though) Calamari - Too salty You may try the head on shrimp, but make sure you're with friends or alone. The dish is super messy and you MUST get your hands in there to peel the shrimp. The pay-off is good, but who wants to be that messy at a place like Joey D's?

We have eaten 3 times at Joey D's recently. The service is impeccable. Each time we tried different items, and we were always very happy with everything we tried. For starters, the Caesar salad and she crab soup are candidates for the best in the city. The meatballs and the baby crab dip are very good. I'm looking forward to going again and trying the wings. From afar, they looked delicious. For main courses, I substituted turkey in my Reuben and it was wonderful. The ribs are outstanding. My wife loves the hamburger and Blackened Chicken Rigatoni. The Barbecue Beef Rib is another best in the city meal. The sides are flavorful, with the Corned Beef Potato Salad being a standout. The cheesecake looked so delicious that we ordered a slice to go. It was great. We plan to return with a third different couple in the next week or two.

You feel like you're in the big city of the 1920's with an ambience of the good old days, and the food is fantastic. From steaks to seafood and everything in between, including a top notch bar (you have to see the bottles lined up against the wall... wow.)

Joey D’s oak room is one of our family birthday destinations. Great steaks and a bit less money than the big name chains. They have a good variety of everything and don’t skip the corned beef. Always great service and accommodating to allergies. You can’t go wrong here.

Minutes from Perimeter Mall with plenty of onsite parking. Indoor, outdoor dining options, full bar with televisions. I recommend the crab dip with warm pretzel breadsticks and veggie burger. Both were seasoned well, served hot, and nicely portioned. The staff is pleasant and attentive.

When we want a good steak and Raw Oyster shooters what dining here are about. The steak is cooked to perfection and the Oyster Shooters are just the right dinner beginning. Topped off with a well executed Vodka Dirty Martini, the evening is a win on all aspects.

Joey D’s was a second choice for us, recommended by someone after finding the restaurant we really liked had closed. The atmosphere was fine and the menu looked good. Then it went downhill. I ordered a reuben sandwich which was VERY expensive so my hopes were up. It was served on 1slice of bread with a mountain of corned beef that could have served a family of 10. A slice of swiss cheese was stuck on top and obviously microwaved, but I dug in. After a couple of bites I realized it had no sauerkraut or dressing on it, the corned beef was so dry I could hardly swallow it, and neither my husband nor I had the promised “spicy pickle” on our plates. The cole slaw that came with my husband’s sandwich seemed to have no dressing on it. This is a very pricey restaurant, and someone needs to get the kitchen under control. To send out an AWFUL sandwich at an astronomical price is a quick way to lose clientele. We won’t be back with so many other choices in the area.

I've been going to Joey D's for years for business lunches and sometimes for dinner. Met an old colleague there for dinner in December. We were giving a great table. The server was on point and delivered excellent customer service. The beverages were great and food was just right. Enjoy this place.

Went here on a whim in June 2022. The place has adequate, free parking. Inside has a nice decor and definitely a place for a date. We were seated immediate and our waiter was very friendly and informative. The menu didn't seem to be that much New Orleans styled as the restaurant was purported to be. For an appetizer - got the honey crossaints- there was 5 of them drizzled in honey and they were delicious. My friend got a house salad that was very good. I opted for a burger. I got a smokehouse burger that came with BBQ sauce, Canadian bacon, shoe string onion rings, and shredded cheese. It was delicious. Food was very good!

Has the owners or chef changed recently? Wow. What an improvement. Noticeable to say the least. From exceptional service who left us alone and did rush our dining experience to super tasty Delmonico style steak and superb stack of baby back ribs with all them fixings and delicious souce covered finger licking goodness. We will be back soon. Save our favorite seats!!!!! Cheers!

We had a great meal and experience at Joey D’s. When you walk in you can’t help but be attracted by the bar. It’s tall with liquor bottles literally to the ceiling. The place is fancy, and you could easily wear a sports jacket and fit in but business casual also seemed appropriate too. It was packed for happy hour but we were able to get a drink while we waited for our table. We had a large group and the hostess sat us and was very accommodating. Our waiter Darren was great. He kept our drinks coming and made good food suggestions. We started with Oyster shots which I did not have but the table enjoyed them. Also enjoyed was a crab dip that everyone scooped up. We got an assortment of steaks and everyone enjoyed them. They were cooked properly. I got the KC Strip and it was delicious. It comes with a salad and the salad was good but the croissant that comes with it was REALLY good. Also their potato salad was an excellent side. I’d be very happy to come back here because the food, drinks, and service were all top notch. PARKING- Do not park on the side of the building close to the road (if you are facing the front the left-hand side. My friend parked their and his car was broken into. Staff were apologetic and obviously there is nothing they can do about that situation. It was mentioned that it happens often at that area. So, go to Joey Ds and enjoy a great experience. Just take uber there or park in another spot not on that side of the building.

My husband and I were staying at the Embassy Suites across the street, so we decided to walk to this restaurant. The atmosphere is lovely and the service is great. The food was decent, but I expected more. I ordered lightly blackened snapper. For the price (market value which was $29 for the entree), I expected better. It was almost if the cook sprinkled old bay seasoning on top after cooking and sent the plate out; that's not my style of lightly blackened. My one side of spinach was good, but my husband noted that his pasta tasted bland. There are a lot of dinner options in nearby, so we would definitely skip this restaurant and eat somewhere else if we visited the area again.

Visited during the month of December, when the restaurant was decorated with numerous lighted Christmas Trees making it look very pretty. Food was very good although a very long wait. There were a couple of large groups probably making the kitchen very busy. We were busy talking and enjoying the surroundings but at some point wondered was was going on. The young waiter never came over to say anything for long delay or advised us what was going on; nor did the manager or anyone else come over; which would have been nice instead of just sitting there wondering.

I have been here a few times in the past, and went back to see if it was still as good, yes it was! The food was yummy. I had the Cajun pasta and it was awesome! Good job!

Very busy place. Make sure you book! Good vibe, good bar, good selection of drinks. The food menu was a bit limited, at least at the bar menu. The meals were tasty and plentiful. A good night out and Uber’s are readily available at quick notice from here.

Special place 20 years ago. Corned beef sandwich was reason to go. Always hit and miss. Now more miss. Corned beef should have some fat. Sandwich here is mostly fat. Make sure you are not seated in back room. Cannot believe they are still in business. Must sell a lot of alcohol. Nice looking interior, and bar. Have a drink. And go eat somewhere else.

Went for a business lunch and was not the quality/taste I was expecting. Service was very friendly and prompt, however the food did not have any taste/flavor at all. Ordered their version of the French dip and the meat and au jus were completely bland. Expected more from a steakhouse for a prime rib sandwich!

Two for dinner. We sat outside on a very warm day so we’re seated quickly. Prime rib was not tasty. Service was good. Salad nice, creamed spinach ok. Baked potatoes was good.

Having recently relocated to the Sandy Springs area, from Florida, we're still building our list of 'go to' restaurants. There's no problem finding $80-$100 PER HEAD fantastic restaurants, but we look for something with better value without giving up on the quality of food (or service). Joey D's did exactly that. A reasonable $50 per head, including a couple of cocktails and two superb entrees; FIlet(9/10 ... MUCH better than the local Outback/Longhorn versions) & Ribs (8/10, very good if not exceptional). I had decided on the ribs before we arrived, but after seeing the bone in ribeye on the adjacent table, it was all I could do not to change my mind. I WILL BE BACK FOR THAT RIBEYE SOON ! If you have a larger group, or some just want a sandwich, or some always can't make their mind up, give Joey D's a try as their menu is extensive. And, I didn't see a part eaten dish on anyones plate !

Great place in Perimeter area. Good food...loud, but that’s the result of people coming for good food. If you have a big party, you will not be able to converse with those at the other end of the table, but to me, it’s all about the food and service which are great!

I read all the mixed reviews so was concern. My Father also said he never goes to this restaurant anymore. Now I understand. Ceasar Salad was the worst ever. Too much dressing and mustard. Grouper and steaks were all under cooked. Medium Steak was raw. Grouper Raw. Green beans undercooked and raw. Guess they are in a hurry to get the food on the table. Music was so loud over the speakers we had to yell to talk to people at our table. We will never go to this restaurant and recommend to our friends in Atlanta to go somewhere else. I feel like they do not care they have been there so long.

We had a group of 10 and arrived when only a few guests were in the restaurant. Waiter assigned to our table was new and did not know the menu. Servers brought out dishes with their fingers inside the plate next to food. One server had extremely long hair and leaned over the table to place a dish, with hair dangling closely over other dishes. Of the 10 diners 5 of us had unacceptable dishes, some of which were returned to the kitchen. Some had missing sides that never appeared. Three men ordered the same drink and all three glasses of liquor had dead fruit flies floating in the liquid. At the end of the meal checks arrived and every one of them was wrong. We were not charged enough so we asked our waiter to check. He came back and said because of all the issues the manager had comped some things. Then, he came back a third time to say....wait!....the manager just realized that all checks are wrong and should be higher. I followup up after the meal with an email to the manager and it has been over a week with no reply. We will not be back to Joey D's in Dunwoody.

Tried this place through invite and liked the look of the place. Very dark though which is great for date night but not so much if you want to see the menu or the food! Food was very good and the mahi mahi was excellent. Cost value is solid. Service friendly but spotty and not doing separate checks for larger parties is just plain lazy! Still, would come back at some point. Also, place is a bit loud.

We had Sunday lunch at Joey D's and it was wonderful. The service was outstanding and the food first rate. Great atmosphere at this restaurant. Go and enjoy. Frank Sinatra singing in the background was icing on the cake!

Stopped for an early Sunday dinner. Excellent choice of time to go there. Ample parking + NO wait seating. Very Good dinner. Service was impeccable. Food quality, quantity and presentation was Very Good. This place has a big corner bar that sports the huge back bar display to the rafters. Quite impressed and we'll be back.

When living in Atlanta twenty years ago, Joey D's was always my "go to" location to bring family, friends and clients for great food in a vibrant atmosphere. With the vibrant atmosphere still intact, I was very disappointed in my food selection/presentation/taste in my most recent visit. Going away from my normal "meat" dish, I ventured into appetizers of crab claws and lobster ravioli. Both were so bland and saturated in fluids, that I lost my appetite for a main course. I enjoyed a fine glass of wine and left. Let's hope they don't drop the ball on the balance of their menu.

Fun menu, and a better restaurant, but choose your menu selections carefully. I ordered a filet salad looking forward to crisp lettuce and some sweet, tender filet...but received a pile of mush, dripping in dressing, and a cut of beef that was poor. I should have sent it back, so that someone in the kitchen learns what freshness and filet really is.

Randomly stopped in this nice place for lunch. Went light with the grilled salmon. The steaks look awesome.

We wanted prime rib (wanted it medium well ) it-came out rare sent it back -came out rare once again rare -the third time it came back burned to the crisp. Could not eat it and the waiter never came back. The manager came out and gave us a bill and offered us a meal next time. Had to go to another restaurant to pick up dinner . Used to be good today it was simply awful

We had a very nice meal. I started with the She crab soup ($6.95). It was absolutely delicious. I also had the corned beef sandwich ($18.95), it was served with a choice of sides. The menu stated Carnegie deli corned beef on rye. OMG, it was so large, I couldn't even open my mouth that wide. I took half the sandwich home. The corned beef was the best I've had in Atlanta. My wife had the chicken parmigiana ($17.95). It was served with a side. It was large as well & excellent. The service was very good.

I had the bone in rib-eye which was great and we loved the fries which was hot and crispy. my wife had the fried calamari n fries which was also great . My daughter enjoyed her cheese burger w fries our server John was very nice and on time with everything we needed

Stopped here for lunch. Good drinks and fabulous bar. Service was ok. Had the overpriced, overcooked, tasteless dry fish of the day. Grilled with no sauce and plain.

This used to be one of my favorite restaurants in the Atlanta area so I felt good about coming in for dinner, but things change. My steak was way over-seasoned and hard to eat. The same for my wife's meal of crab claws. Too salty. Our friend had the patty melt and fries and she didn't finish either. The service was excellent, though.

Been a few times for lunch and dinner with others. Always just ok and pretending to be a fine dining, steak house atmosphere restaurant. Food good but average. However, at late (8:00 p.m.) Sunday dinner, it appeared there is no dress code: one pair of low riding black shorts and tee shirt; one plain white tail out tee shirt, and three men wearing baseball caps. Combined with a chewy serving of prime rib, had all the value and atmosphere of an Applebees. Poses as fine dining. Does not deliver. Great server, but ot enough to defeat the lack of quality otherwise.

When Joey D's opened about 30 years ago it was great. As years have passed and competition has been ramped, Joey D's has survived. The food quality has steady fallen from very good to poor in some instances. A Prime Rib entree and Chopped Steak entree were ordered rare. Both entrees will served well done. On the replacement the same thing happened. French Fries were not fresh and tasted like they were from a frozen batch. The spiced New Orleans Shrimp were very good.Caesar Salads were drenched with a creamy sauce, not very good, I will not be in a hurry to return.

The place is beautiful but that is where the good stopped. Our waiter Blair was absolutely baffled by every question we had, could not answer any of the questions and had no idea what he was doing. He had to leave our table and ask someone else at least 5 times. My response to what is gluten free here was "the chef says any meat with nothing on it, any fish with nothing on it, or any salad with no dressing". Either the chef is a dimwit or the waiter is....maybe both. He had no expertise in the bar and what was offered had to run there three to four times. We asked what the fish of the day was, he had to go ask someone and told us it was North Korean something or other! WHAT? We are getting North Korean seafood shipped to us in Atlanta? The food was not good for the price or the lack of service. The company was good but you can't impress with a fancy bar and a big entryway. Would not go back, would not recommend and I encourage you to retrain your staff. Also the bar maid was really dressed different from every else eh? All waiters looked professional and she had a corset to push up her assets to make up for something. She looked very out of place and halfway through the night she took it off because she couldn't breathe and she looks like a ragamuffin.

First time here and probably my last! It’s a little overrated for the food quality! She crab soup was the best thing for $7! The place needs some TLC and up darting. The little lamp at our table was worn not sure if they felt that it looked nostalgic? It needs some sprucing up and updating!

Went here for dinner with a coworker. It was very busy for a Tuesday night and the crowd was mostly local corporate types. Our waiter was always there to top off a beer and take our orders. I had the BBQ shrimp as an appetizer and the french dip sandwich. Both were excellent along with my cold local brews. I did notice that they had the largest selection of liquors on display behind the bar. All the way to the ceiling and the full length of the bar.

Joey D's was always a favorite while living in Atlanta, and returned often when visiting since moving. The experience had always been positive / enjoyable both food wise and with the service. Dining this past weekend with family members was a disappointment to say the least. A salad request with no eggs had to be sent back. A full rack of ribs had very little meat and was dry. A filet mignon ordered medium was sent back being well done. The replaced filet took longer then the original order, arriving while other were finishing their meals. The wait staff offered little to no response as to the issues at hand. It's realized that there are problems with restaurant staffing, but the quality of food and correctness of orders should not be sacrificed. It probably will be awhile before returning, especially with family or guests.

Joey D’s is a classic sandwich/burger/soup/salad place. High energy, great vibe at the noisy bar/restaurant inside. We were happy to take seat on the patio. Onion soup and corned beef were over the top and well-priced. We will go back. There is a full menu of dinner entrees, but we were happily we’ll-fed with our selections.

Haven't been to Joey D's for at least 20 years. My wife and I were looking for a place for some good adult time and decided to give it another try. Good decision. Great cocktails. Food was very good - she crab soup, crab claws entree and a very well prepared steak - and price / value was also very good. Service was excellent (Ansley B). Looking forward to going back.

First time here and it was awesome. Old school feel and bar was up to the ceiling! Food and service was great! Will be back

I like the ambiance of the restaurant and the staff was friendly, however the food was mediocre. Yelp had pics of an older shrimp pasta dish that is no longer on the menu so I tried the baked shrimp Alfredo Instead. The shrimp was good but the Alfredo taste old and wasn't seasoned. It looks great but was not tasty. I definitely do NOT recommend this dish. The chopped steak was okay but pretty dry and will need salt and pepper. The crescents are soft and buttery and wonderful. The Hibiscus margarita was the best part of the meal and is very sweet and tasty. I would come back but will stay away from the pasta completely and try a different steak.

The food was great and worth the cost. If you want seafood that taste and look great this is the place to go.

First time for us. I like to décor and the atmosphere. Its really upscale look that's laid back. The lighting made reading the menu a little challenging was just a little too dark. If you looking for romantic setting the noise level will make that impossible. The staff was good but they assume you have been there before so ask for the drink/desert menus. The food was okay. The she crab soup was outstanding and had you wanting more. The salad greens were very crisp and fresh. the croissant adds a nice twist. The chopped stake was temperature was perfect but flavor did not have a wow factor. After having the she crab soup I was looking for another wow. The shrimp pasta was creamy and loaded with shrimp it was okay just didn't have that wow. The Mojito was okay but not worth the 8.95 price tag. They are a little pricey but the portions are there. If I were to visit again I just sick with the she crab soup with a salad and croissant.

I really wanted to like this place. It's got a cool rat pack vibe, great bar, very reasonably priced wine by the glass. But the food was just so blah. We started out with wings. They had no flavor. I had a chicken dish that had no flavor. It was two small, overcooked breasts. Wife had filet salad. That should be a layup but also was just dull. To top it off, the waiter charged us for an extra glass of wine. I'll probably go back for drinks but not to eat.

After living in New York City for many years, I always enjoyed the great sandwiches that the authentic deli's put out up there. After a couple of great lunches at Joey D's, I can recommend the corned beef and the turkey sandwiches as NY authentic. Great food, served by very friendly people...can't beat that.

I went here on my 1st day in the new job. The service was spot on and food was amazing. We continue to bring new employees and clients here over and over again.

Party of 3 shared 3 items for an expensive lunch. Soup & salad —$13+1 crab soup—the shew-crab soup was very tasty, pretty salty tho. The small salad was also quite tasty, excellent dressing. The reuben sandwich—$20– was large, flavorful. Accompaning side selected was creamed spinach —very nice. Separate order of salad was split in kitchen (as was the reuben), Service was v. Good, however place was very noisy.

Great place in the Dunwoody area. It's great for meeting friends or for business meetings. Indoor or outdoor seating. Found on Yelp this nice little gem. Steaks, Ribs, Salads, and an amazing Pastrami sandwich. We had them all and a bar with every kind of alcohol you would want. Ribs comes two racks. Steaks are full sized, and the salads are just right. Meals come with a side and salad. Calamari and cheesy dip for apps.

We go out every year for Christmas Eve Dinner, and this was the worst service we have received. We had a 5:00 Reservation, and were early, so there was hardly anyone there. It took forever just to get a drink order, even longer to order. The waiter had no personality, and there was a hostess wearing boots with a skirt so short her butt checks were hanging out when she helped clear tables. Even the tables around us were commenting about that. Back to the service....we ordered soup appetizers, and asked for an extra spoon, so my daughter could share. They never brought the spoon. They delivered the salads and just put them in front of people, with no regard to what dressing they actually ordered. We had to dig through the salads and sort it out. Once our meals were delivered the waiter never came back, even though several of us would have liked another cocktail. They have crammed too many tables in, so it is hard to even maneuver around, and there is definitely not enough wait staff. The food was great, but would have second thoughts about coming again, due to the poor service.

Awesome experience. Attentive staff. Great variety of menu items. Reasonably priced. Make reservations, go a smidge early and have patience when trying to find a place to park.

My husband and I ordered the hamburger and fries to go from this restaurant. The food was hot, fresh, juicy and deliciousssssssss. I will definitely visit this place again.

Found this place on Tripadvisor while staying nearby and were craving steak. We were not disappointed. Food was excellent, steaks cooked perfectly, and service top notch from everyone we came into contact with working there. Highly recommended and we will definitely be going back next time we are in Atlanta!

Joey D's is a great place to go out and celebrate a birthday or just enjoy a great dinner with friends. We go for special occasions and love the vibrant atmosphere. I like to order the 16 oz prime rib (which is more than I can eat) with a delicious loaded baked potato. Then, I like to take home the leftovers and make delicious fajitas. The house salad comes with the warm bacon honey mustard dressing and is the best salad you will have anywhere, and it's topped off with a warm croissant dripping with honey butter. Or, some nights when we want to eat at home we like to order the salad(described above) with the she-crab soup. Now that's gourmet take-out! Absolutely delicious!

Went there for the 5th time with co workers we all ordered different appetizers 1.)BBQ Oysters Bad dont order them we were dissapointed served in a plastic server. 2.) Cajun Shrimp - OK, We all agreed had better 3.)fried type onions very good 4.)salad good 5.) I forgot what we ordered we were drinking dbl Jack neat I ordered the Reuben open faced sandwich very very good piled high- I always order this just be sure to tell the waiter or waitress that if it sits under the heat lamp to long it will dry it out and if it comes and it is dry Im sending it back -if you do this its perfect Somebody ordered the rib thing excellent another person order a pasta dish excellent Again we were drinking dbl Jacks neat and I forgot what else But this I do remember it has a great atmosphere -NYC type ,great bar and great service I will go back probably this Saturday night until I am no longer working in ATL.

We love going to the Oak Room. Anytime whether for lunch or dinner it is a unique place and has a fantastic menu. The place is not too casual, not too stuffy. We would suggest the grilled chicken Caesar salads that come with a fresh made buttery croissant! The Fairgrounds sandwich is great. My brother loves the Reuben and has to take some of it home with him. Portions are generous and they have a full bar.

A group of us stopped in for lunch while visiting Atlanta. This place came as a recemendation from our hotel. They were right on the money! This place was Great. Our group ordered the Chicken wings and the peel and eat shrimp to start. Both were fresh and really flavorful. We moved on with the Chicken BBQ sandwich, Steak sandwich, Classic Reuben, and Oak Room Chicken sandwich. Everyhting was perfect after a long day of travel. The star of the show was definately the Chicken BBQ sandwich the sauce was perfect and the chicken had a perfectly smoked flavor. The bourbon selection here is fantastic and is offered with a generous pour. We would most definatley return for dinner on the next visit.

I went here for my birthday with a co-worker on a Tuesday. Luckily, my co-worker made reservations, because this place was so busy, which is a good sign. We were seated immediately and started off with some calamari, which was very good. The marinara sauce was especially good. For my entrée, I had the steak sandwich with French fries and it was delicious. My co-worker had the crawfish bayou barataria, which she nearly finished, so it must have been good. The portions are quite hearty, as well. Once finished, the Operating Partner, Nathan, came by to ask how everything was and my co-worker said it was my birthday. He insisted on some dessert and brought us the brownie. The brownie was amazing. It had a Hershey bar melted on top of a brownie with vanilla ice cream. I was pretty full before I had the dessert, but devoured it down because it was good. The service was good and the prices were fine. Everything was good from start to finish. It seems to be business meeting type place during lunch time, but anyone can have a nice meal there.

Always make to a point to dine one evening at Joey D's when in ATL for Market. We visited on a Saturday evening. Wait for the table was 30 minutes, which was understandable. Once we were seated, the delays between being greeted, drink orders, food order being taken, etc were far too long. From when we were seated until we left was over an hour and a half. No special meals, no deserts, just slow service. Food was excellent as always but there's a limit to how long is a reasonable wait. Please work on that.

Had reservation for Thanksgiving dinner. I’m deducting one star for each negative experience in the restaurant, for a total deduction of three stars. First lost star: we arrived five minutes early for our reservation, but were left waiting for twenty-five minutes, while wave after wave of other customers arrived and were promptly seated ahead of our two-top. One star down. Second lost star: our first and second courses were served before our beverages arrived, with no water provided. We had to ask the food-runner to track our beverage order. Finally, beverages arrived just ahead of our entrees. Two stars down. Third lost star: the food courses were served just minutes apart, leaving no time to consume each course before the next arrived. I consumed zero of my salad course before being pressured twice to accept my entree. It doesn’t matter how good the D&B is if you are not allowed to enjoy it. Three stars down. Many people seem to like this restaurant, but our Thanksgiving meal was ruined by the stress that we experienced. Never again.

When we travel to the Atlanta area for shopping at Perimeter and North Point Malls, Joey D’s is a great place for a relaxed luncheon. The space is light and airy, the service is wonderful, and the food is outstanding. On our recent visit, we tried some entree salads - the manhattan and the salmon. Both were excellent and very satisfying. It is always a pleasure to enjoy some time at Joey D’s. Must try it for dinner sometime soon!

Joey D's has a great lunch menu, the servers are friendly and the food is timely in arriving to the table, they knew that we were on lunch break.

Lunch with friends - very tasty. We had swordfish, the best I ever had. Others had pasta, which was big in terms of serving, but also tasteful. Lunch plates could be smaller. The aircon is too much. The place was noisy when we came but quickly eased, eating around 13:00 is more calm than 12:00.

My daughter and I were in Atlanta for a training and she looked up one of the best places to eat in the perimeter area and I am so glad she did! The service was outstanding, the she crab soup was the best I have EVER had, full of actual crab meat! I cannot wait to return again!

I'm so pleased with Joey D's Oakroom and our Uber eats driver Steven the help and care they showed to me was beyond what I could imagine. Thank you so much for making a other-wise ruined anniversary due to an unplanned hospital stay, to an unexpected lovely dinner for my hubby and daughter. Again thank you for making our 15th year wedding anniversary memorable, instead of what it could have been. Sincerely and again many thanks- Brad & Melissa

I loved everything from our visit here. The steak was cooked to perfection. The cigars and spirits are divine. The prices are a bit steep, but well worth the money by the quality you receive.

Had a wonderful experience at Joey Ds. Bonnie was our waitress and Antonio was the chef/manager that day. Refreshing to have such a great experience at a restaurant and all of our meals were delicious. We had the house salad, trout, and ribs. The croissant melts in your mouth.

Solo business traveler, sat at the bar for dinner. Started off with a glass of wine. The bartender was kind enough to walk me thru the menu and made several suggestions. I opted to go with the 10oz prime rib - served with a side of pasta and a salad. The salad was pretty good, served with a mini croissant. The entree wasn't bad, but could have been better. It was a nice cut of meat and it was fairly tender, but it was also cold. The pasta was good and was actually hot -- so they must have sliced the meat before the pasta was ready. I ate everything, but I would certainly have enjoyed it more if the prime rib was served warm. Im going to give them another try next time Im in town on business.

With the brother and sister-in-law visiting over the holidays we wanted to have a nice New Year’s Eve dinner event and a quality, dependable and up-scale place. I’ve been frequenting Joey D’s since being introduce there back in ‘95 and tru to form they didn’t let me down this time! Given the night, we were pleasantly surprised when they were able to seat us immediately, even though they were packed with others celebrating likewise. As usual, the menu was impeccable, the onion ring loaf (suggested) was great as was the service and the steak and seafood ordered. All were cooked and done as ordered and served at a good pace. The close out with NY cheesecake hit the spot.

The hotel staff recommended we try Joey D's and we were not disappointed. Good food and service. For starters: The Char Grilled oysters!!!!! So much butter and crispy cheese for dipping your bread. Then we shared the salmon with portobello mushrooms. The fish was perfectly prepared with a generous serving of mushrooms, but we felt it needed either a tangy bourbon glaze or lemon butter garlic. The key lime was wonderful. Upscale and inviting, but the noise level is high, so quiet conversation is not on the menu.

I enjoyed the Garlic strip, one of the better steaks I've ever had! Atmosphere was very nice and inviting, with an awesome backdrop of liquor bottles at the bar. Service was also very friendly, prompt and attentive.

The atmosphere was very nice and elegant. My husband and I visited this location on a Friday evening. I had wings as an appetizer and house salad with she crab soup as my entree. The she crab soup was AWESOME! My husband had the ribs with the corn beef potato salad. The ribs were plenty and very tender. The potato salad was different and tasty. It could use some additional seasoning. The croissants were very soft and fresh! The service was fast and friendly. We will definitely be returning when visiting the area again.

My friend and I had dinner on Friday evening August 24, 2018 at Joey D's. We ordered 2 Manhattan's. We sent the drinks back reluctantly because they tasted like cinnamon i.e.fireball flavored. I say reluctantly because our waiter was so very nice and accommodating that we didn't want to create a problem. So the drinks came back with the same cinnamon flavor. We told our waiter and he apologized and told the bartender our concern and was told that the vermouth had some kind of cinnamon flavor. We thought this was odd so we ask for the manager. Well after the manager went back and forth with the bartender, it was finally discovered that "bitters" were put in our Manhattans. The manager said the bartender got confused with the drink "old fashion." So since it was their error, you think the manager would have comped the drink or offered us a desert. He didn't. What a poor manager. We are done with Joey D's.

Had a business lunch at Joey D's Oak Room. Great food and nice place to have a meeting. Location is near the various business centers and a good variety of food.

I walked in on a Wed. eve. The place was packed. The bar has an extensive selection of most alcoholic beverages, including single malts. The dining menu is not extensive, but there is good variety. The steaks looked delicious, but I opted for the Shrimp D'Angelo. It included a large portion of shrimp that were cooked to perfection. The price was reasonable for the value delivered. They also offer a nice selection of salads. sandwiches and more. It was a short walk form the Embassy Suites I was staying at, and I was glad it was there.

I am not impressed. Went to Joey Ds with some colleagues. The ambiance isn’t bad. Looks like a steakhouse. The lighting is horrible. I don’t know why restaurants think you want to eat in the dark. Seriously had to use my phone to light up the menu. Sadly our waiter wasn’t helpful at all. He got the job done but that’s pretty much it. The food was average. I had the hot roast beef sandwich which was chewy and not overly tasty. We started with the croissants which was good. Overall lots of other places to choose from around perimeter.

We recently needed to stay over near the Atlanta airport for an early flight, and happened on Joey D's Oak Room by accident. We were sure glad we did. The atmosphere was airy yet cozy, the wait staff were, to a person, cheerful and accommodating. We settled in at the bar, took our time and had an excellent meal. We shared our plates - one reuben sandwich and one low carb filet mignon salad. Both were terrific - the reuben is the best we can remember having. Moist but not fatty with terrific flavor. We took our time over the meal, enjoyed a great bottle of wine that was very reasonably priced, and were not rushed at all. Terrific experience - enough that we'll make sure to stay at the same hotel so we're nearby next time we have a stay-over.

Great food, but the service was very slow. Try the she crab soup and the key lime pie. They are so good!

Joey D's is usually reliableb (we've probably eaten here at least 4 times in the last 6 months), but this Father's Day was a major disappointment. Two prime rib orders were very poor quality beef--lots of gristle and the meat itself was just plain tough. A filet was not a lot better. One house salad was literally swimming in dressing, which is just not acceptable. I told the manager on the way out that I was very unhappy; this restaurant is off my rotation until I can forget this bad experience.

While staying at the Embassy Suites (right behind Joey Ds) for the Super Bowl, we decided to venture down to Joey Ds for dinner. Oh man, what a treat! The first thing I saw on the menu was She Crab Stew! I had fallen in love with this many years earlier and quickly ordered that. I then had to go with the Rib Eye and I was far from disappointed! Everything was terrific. We liked it so much that my daughter joined us the next night and it was just as good. This time I went with the She Crab Stew and I asked the waiter what he would recommend. He quickly said the Lobster Ravioli. Another Home Run! A great meal and a great atmosphere. There was only one negative. On the first night the server who brought out my salad noticed my NE Patriots garb and began making some negative comments. Now I will be the first one to say that I fully understand that loving a sports team can generate friendly opposition but he almost crossed the too far barrier. Every other employee at the establishment showed nothing but incredible Southern Hospitality!
Good and filling.
They are still serving a lot of good food for your lunch or dinner. It is a place that you know is going to be good before you even set foot in the door. The break and the salad add to the meal. Always enough left over for take home.
