Mixed experience

By bcwjlw |

Servings are plentiful and tasty, however they were out of a number of the foods we ordered, but the waitress did not lets us know until well after we had ordered our meals. The waitress made quite a few mistakes - but when reminded got what we asked for correct. Prices are not cheap, but servings are generally big enough that you can take any leftovers with you. Everyone in our party enjoyed what they ordered. They desserts are supposed to be very good, but we were too full to even try.

Unexpectedly delicious!

We live in the neighborhood and have never eaten here, until tonight. Our friend invited us to meet her and her parents for dinner and it was unexpectedly delicious. We started with hummas and pita. We all ordered soups- a chicken based vegetable soup and a yummy pumpkin soup. Our friend and her dad shared a liver and onion platter and my husband had a chicken liver platter (see photo) both of which were enough for two. My friend's mom and I each enjoyed our shnitzel in-pita (photo.) the chicken (shnitzel) was cooked to perfection and was served with hummus, salad and tahini- all in the pita. It was a little messy to eat, but I managed. We would definitely return. They also do a huge take out business. Plenty of parking too.

Tasty & Delicious

My wife and I ate here. We both had the shwamma with cole slaw & stewed zucchini with a pita.We have had this dish in other restaurants. It tasted different but still tasty and delicious. This is a Kosher restaurant. We would recommend this establishment in the future.

Just like Israel!

The food at Judah takes me back to Israel. It's authentic, delicious and fresh. The menu is plentiful and includes wonderful salads and meat dishes. What more could you want in a meal?

absolutely amazing food. just like israel, fresh savory and generous portions. their shawarma and grill selection is exceptional. the hummus and salads are homemade and the taste will send your taste buds through the roof. best kosher food in the area hands down.

Amazing Hummus Platter!

By Kristine D |

I just happened upon this place when dropping something off at a neighboring business that my friend owns. I ordered the hummus with onions and mushrooms and it was amazing! It was served with a pita. I'd probably order a second pita next time. It reminded of a place I used to go to when I worked in center city. I am so excited to see a gem like this in the Northeast. Vegan options available. Highly recommend. This is going into my regular rotation! Staff was friendly and food came out fast. I wolfed it down before thinking of writing a review, so I have no photos to share this time.

Great Food! True Israeli! AND Kosher To Boot!

By Steve L |

I was born & raised in NE Philly, and my Mom & sister still live there. When we went to visit my Mom last weekend, we came back from a fantastic day at Longwood Gardens. It was now dinner time. Where to eat? We really wanted someplace new & different. So where did we turn? Trip Advisor! Looked for something in the NE. Up pops Mediterranean. Then pops up Judah. Never heard of it. It definitely wasn't there 38 years ago when I moved! And it is right behind my sister's house. She thought she had seen the restaurant, but had never been there. So we thought, what the heck. Let's give it a try. But would they be open on a Sunday night? YES! They are Glatt Kosher, so they would never be open on Saturday! Perfect. Be got the menu off of the web. BIG MISTAKE! I think we ordered one of EVERYTHING!!!! This was REAL Israeli food. From the falafel, to the grape leaves, to the shwarma, it was great! Only ONE negative. No Israeli pickle in the falafel! On a scale of 1=worst and 10=best, this faact dropped the falafel from a 10 to a 9.5! I wish we lived in Philly because of Judah Mediterranean Grill! Do not pass it up. But don't try to go on a Saturday!

Yummy!

Enjoyable meal. Lives up to its reputation. Nice to have this option in the community. Can't wait to return sometime soon!

Best Kosher Restaurant in Philadelphia

By Jonathan F |

As a frequent business traveler from Israel to the area, I make sure to visit Judah's at least once or twice a trip. The location in Northeast Philly is a bit out of the way but the food never disappoints. It is truly authentic Israeli fare- the Shwarma and Falafel are among the best I have ever tasted (don't skip the hot sauce), and the grilled chicken cutlets are delicious. The restaurant is clean and the wait staff friendly and attentive. For a great kosher meal in a relaxed family atmosphere Judah's can't be beat.

I am BLESSED to have an office near Judah

By 1984avanti |

The food at this restaurant is SUPERB. Good Israel style and delicious. As goo as what I'd find in Tel Aviv or Jerusalem. A bit pricey, and their credit card policy is tough. High Minimums. I like to TREAT my office to lunch, and it is tough to reach the credit card minimum. Bring cash and ENJOY THIS EXCELLENT FOOD!!

Freshly Made to Order

Another very good meal at Judah. Nice selection of meat dishes , dips and appetizers (not necessarily in that order). If you still have room, pick one of the many deserts. Usually no wait, but you can call in a reservation. Staff great and friendly.

Pleasant Atmosphere & Delicious Food

I visit this wonderful restaurant approximately twice a month. The food is consistently delicious and the people working there are kind. A wonderful spot for a date or a family gathering.

The food is great. Especially the wings and baklava!!! The people friendly. We don’t mind the long drive to get there because the food is fresh and delicious. The portions are large too. We always take home food

This was our first time here and we cannot wait to go again. I had the Chicken Shawarma. It was mouth watering delicious. Everything was so fresh and the restaurant was so clean and tidy. Thank you to the owners. A must in the area!

The real deal Israeli

By aaron l |

We had dinner here twice in a few weeks: once as a couple and once with a large family group. The food is consistently excellent and authentically prepared and served. Strictly kosher. More than adequate portion sizes. The kitchen gets a little slow when the place is busy. Knowledgeable and friendly but not overly attentive service.

Friends & Family

This is my favorite kosher spot in Philadelphia. I find the old Tel Aviv style decor very inviting. The old little antiques and all over the wall make it interesting for the children as well. There are just so many conversation pieces. The food is Mediterranean style and very flavorful. I like the shawarma in the lavash wrap or on a platter. Kabobs are also good. If you are planning to come with a group on Sunday afternoon for dinner it's always best to make reservations. I've seen this place really packed at times. Overall it's a great spot for a good kosher meal.

Fantastic food!

Not your run of the mill kosher restaurant. ( and i have been to so many!) The food looked (served nicely) and tasted great. Nice friendly service. I had the grilled chicken liver and onions (see photo), it was sensational. It also came with a warm fresh pita, techina, chili sauce (schug) and choice of salads. I am just sad i don't live nearby to go back again soon!

Very nice meal

We had made a reservation for a Sunday lunch for 4 but didn't need to because there was only one other table occupied. Our meal orders were taken promptly as well as for drinks, with the meals arriving in less than 15 minutes, piping hot. We found the meals quite tasty and reasonable value. We would return if we were in the area again.

Great food!

Went there with my sister and had a Judah special hamburger with grilled onions and mushrooms. It was delicious. My side dish of roasted vegetables had plenty of garlic and also was wonderful. My sister had a chicken and falafel salad. Both dishes had plenty of food and were tasty. I highly recommend it. It is a glat kosher restaurant.

Get the Judah Burger

By therese l |

My local hosts recommended the Judah Burger and they were right! It was delicious and large, accompanied by my choice of two sides. The desserts looked delicious but we were too full to think about it. Kosher, and comfortable for all. Would love to return and try their other choices,

Excellent kosher restaurant

Food and service is always good. Plenty of selections and always fresh. Service is quick and pleasant if you are a party of 2 or 10. Great for takeout. The kosher wings are the favorite for Sunday Football.
