This is a GREAT neighborhood Italian Restaurant. The friendly service is superb and the food is even better. Superb dishes are Margarita pizzas, individually created pasta, Sicilian salads, and oddly enough the chicken noodle soup.

At Julian's, you name it, it's good. Great pizza, pasta, salads, wine, and everything priced right. While you order at the counter, your food is brought promptly by friendly servers. A great neighborhood spot, busy at both lunch and dinnertime. Even when there's a line to order, seating is provided efficiently by a hostess. Julian's gets it right.

Julian's is a restaurant that I frequent often. Of course the pizza is probably the best thing there, but there desserts (canolis!!), service, and Friday night music is commendable. Julian's definitely gets my business because of their gluten free options. The music on Friday night sounds great and keeps me coming back. They're without a doubt a standard for Italian restaurants around town.

Average pizza and pasta. Spicy pasta very spicy and flavorful. Big problem was milk provided for a child was spoiled. Yes, the child said it was not good milk. Being a good Papa I tested the milk and almost lost it with the spoiled milk in my mouth bringing real gagging moments to my brain. Ample free parking. Menu varied. Service good.

We love this Italian pizzaria/restaurant. The lunch specials are awesome with lots of choices at great prices. The pizza is delish. Be sure to sign up for the email specials, which are ample and make dining very reasonable. We love the Sicilian salad, which is more than enough for 2. My favorite is the pizza and lasagna. I usually dont order lasagna at restaurants as my homemade fare is always better, but Julian's has me totally beat. Super yummy! The staff is friendly and efficient. The dining room is simple but comfortable andhas a comfortable bistro atmosphere. The owner, Julian is usually there and strives to make sure that his guests are happy with the food and service. This would be a perfect place for Diner's, Drive In's, and Dives to visit, as the food is so good and the restaurant holds a sort of charm.

I decided to give Julian's a try after reading the reviews. The pizza was good, hot and fresh, but the calamari were the worst that I have ever had. They were fried until they were hard as rock. I was very disappointed.

I love Julian's pizza! The ingredients are always fresh and flavorful, the dough is consistently baked to perfection and the armosphere at this neighborhood gathering place is cheerful and cozy.

Real, New York style pizza! They have a large dining area, and can handle our extended family when they come. Lots of topping choices. This last time, we ordered a family meal (2 pastas, one chicken parm, and salad) listed as serving 4, but it could have served 6 to 8 depending on your appetite.

We have been to Italy(and anyone who has been there, knows the food is excellent) and the food here is cooked the same way(at least what we have eaten) we have had the pizza, which the crust and flavor was like any We got in Italy. The wife has had the pasta meal(which she can't remember the name) anyway, it filled her up and left her saying, this was great! The service is very good, the beer was very cold! My wife drank the house wine and enjoyed it as well! If you want a casual and tasty Italian food, go there!

We get the pepperoni mushroom. It's always delicious! Great crust. Not a fancy place, but it's clean, friendly, and the food is good.

Julian's in Alamo Heights has been open for four months and feels like it as been here for a decade. It's in the middle of the iconic 09 strip mall next to CVS. You walk in and are greeted by the friendly Brianna. She will advise you on the lunch menu offerings and she's very helpful to first time visitors. The grilled chicken Italiano was a large breast of chicken with cheese and lemon butter. The butter garlic pasta was a pure 10 and the sauteed spinach was tasty as was the chicken. The meat lasagna is made fresh every morning and it was delicious. The small spinach salad isn't small it overflows the plate and the feta cheese, and tomatoes are also abundant. The balsamic dressing was good and the small loaf of Italian bread was great. Portions here are large. We had lots of to go boxes. Prices are right and service is quick.

Went here for lunch with friends. You order at the counter and they bring your order to the table. The soup I had was good and you get one free refill. My friends had pizza and fettachini and both said they were excellent. I will go back to try the pizza.

This restaurant has become a consistent place my family and I eat at every week. The food is very fresh and very tasty. Service is very good. If you go on a Friday night, try to go early, because it gets packed fast. The live music Friday night is cool. I agree about the calarmari, don't order it. I do wish they also used Angel Hair pasta instead of spaghetti, but that's just my preference.

My family and I, who are from out of town, ate here and all agreed that the restaurant was very good. My wife had the spaghetti with meat sauce and we shared the 18" pizza. My wife loved her spaghetti and was especially impressed with the fresh baked roll that it came with. We ordered pepperoni and jalapeños on our pizza and I was very impressed that they use fresh jalapeño slices instead of packaged/pickled jalapeños. I have only seen this at one other restaurant at home. The restaurant itself was very clean and inviting. We went in the evening and it had a private, cozy feeling. Staff was very friendly and the service was ok. My wife's soup was brought out and a few minutes later the rest of our food was brought out and we were not checked on after that. Would definitely visit again.

We recently had dinner at Julian's in San Antonio. The food was average for American style Italian. It is relatively difficult to get really excellent Italian fare in the western USA. Julian's offers a full menu with many pastas, pizzas, and meat dishes. the spaghetti is not cooked to order. The sauce was rather typical US version of Italian, but lacked the flavor of similar places in New York, Boston, or Philadelphia. Overall, it is a good, but not great, option in San Antonio for Italian eating.

My husband and I ate here and loved the food! Best pizza in San Antonio!! The White Out pizza is AMAZING!!!! We will definitely be back!

This is a favorite of my wife and I, a great local pizzeria with a very loyal patronage. Julian and his staff always make everyone feel welcome and appreciated. The atmosphere is light and jovial with great live Jazz music on Fridays. The pizza is truly New York style, hands down! We have never had a sub-par meal here. Highly recommend for large parties and special events.

Went out to Julian's for the first time today. I must say I was very impressed. Many places in this city promote "New York Style Pizza" and this is one of the first places that I have seen that delivers. They have great lunch specials that include a drink. I will say when I saw the price for a slice I thought it to be a little on the high side, but once the slice was delivered I could not believe my eyes. Incredible slice of pie. Light, not greasy, and best of all foldable. Just like in NYC. Other members of our party had the calzone (huge), chicken Parmesan (nice lunch portion), Italian sub, and the Stromboli which looked delicious. Walk up counter to order but they bring your order out. Great attention to making sure everything was to our liking.

I know I hadn't eaten breakfast and I was super hungry by the time I showed up for lunch, but I know for sure this was one incredible meal. The eggplant Parmesan struck all the right notes. Red sauce was exactly the way it should be-not too spicy not too chunky not too runny. Yeah, I am not Bourdain but I'm trying! Really nice side of butter garlic spaghetti and before that was a fabulous salad. You will not have service because diners order at the counter, but it will be delivered to your table. Thus, no awkward time where you have to ignore your friend to keep listening for your number. Even the bread that came with my meal was awesome. The food is not cheap like fast food places all around, but you will not be getting fast food style/quality ingredients. Oh, the meatballs are almost as large as your head. OK, slight exaggeration but it's not too far off.

I had Calamari, Meat Balls, and Eggplant Parmasan. Food is fairly ordinary. I heard Pizza is very good. Will try next time. Calamari was a little overcooked for my taste. You order at the front counter, they give you a number that you display at your table like Carl's Jr. That was a surprise. We tried a bottle of the house Merlot. Exellent wine.

We loved the white pizza. Best we ever had! The staff was friendly and the service was excellent. A must visit away from the downtown over priced food. Well worth the trip for my family.

One of the very best eateries in San Antonio with a very friendly staff. More often than not, you will see the owner, Julian, in the kitchen preapring the food or visting with patrons. The food is some of the best anywhere and the prices are very reasonable. If you eat here once, you will be back. This is a place where you will be on a first name basis and it has that " you want to go where everyone knows your name" atmosphere. Please note that due to the demand, Julian's moved to a larger facility at 13444 West Avenue, Suite 300, San Antonio.

Julian's has very good Italian food. I eat here about 3 times a month, the pizza is amazing. I have tried several dishes here and everything was good. You won't be disappointed !!!

Pizza is a curious food item and everyone has their own prefernce at preparation. Me? I want it like I remember it back at Piquads in Chicago. REAL pieces of "stuff"...not pre-packaged this or that, tons of gooey cheese, and slices that flop over if you try to lift 'em up by hand. Dis is Da Place closest to that kinda pizza in this southwestern city

What a simple and nice "joint" to go to... order at the counter, get a number and a table and voila the food is there. Reasonable and nice portions. Pizza is very good

I had the Stromboli and it was awesome except the bottom was burnt. Hubby had chicken parm with pasta and it was delicious! The only negative he had was that the glass for his beer wasn’t cold enough 😀and our daughter had the cheese ravioli which was great. The sauce was a little bland though. The atmosphere and staff are wonderful! Great family restaurant.

The food is superb, the price is right and the service is excellent. It is always busy, but it is well worth the wait for a table. The pizza and pasta are great.

I don't know why we don't visit this place more often. We had lunch there today. I had the off menu Parmesan shrimp special and my wife had the grilled chicken Italiano. Each included a side of pasta, salad and drink. The entrees and pasta were excellent and the salad lettuce was nice and crisp. The home made bread served hot with the meal was also very good. Relaxed, quiet atmosphere with checkerboard table cloths and piped in big band and old standards playing in the background. About $20 for the two of us.

The restaurant is usually busy, but the food is very good. The staff is friendly and so is the owners. Service is fast and prices are reasonable. Good value. We love going there.

Day after day, Julian's continues to excel in its offering of food and low prices. It is the best value in San Antonio, bar none. Go and sample their lunch offerings and you will be pleasantly surprised at the quality and quantity of the food. My wife and I eat here normally once per week and we give gift certificates to our friends and business associates so they can taste the delicious food. When we have friends from out of town, we head to Julian's. Great food, great service, great atmosphere; you won't be disappointed!

Amazing food priced fairly and super favors and tastes. Sorry we moved away and we will never find a place like this in AZ.

This was our stop for lunch right by the NcNay and it was yummy. We only bothered with pizza but it hit the spot and four of us devoured 2 pies.

Staff is friendly... always smiling (no matter how busy). We sometimes have to wait for a few minutes during the lunch rush... but the food is worth the wait. Always fresh and hot! My go to is the Chicken Parmesan... YUM! Or get the Pizza Slices... YUP! That's the ticket!!

Where to begin... The food is priced right and tastes fantastic. It is a great place for families to go - the music is enjoyable and there is a friendly peaceful ambiance. The staff is very friendly and accommodating and they have a military discount. The Greek salad was fresh and the pizza was one of the best we've ever had. Our daughter had whole wheat spaghetti with Alfredo sauce and is still talking about how good it was! The brownies are good and the chocolate cannoli is insanely good! We will definitely go back - again and again.

Really enjoyed my Sicilian salad (at least I think that’s what it was called). Chicken, with spinach good too. Everyone seemed to enjoy their food. Decent menu, enough choices for all of us.

This is a small locally owned restaurant, that I consider a "Diamond in the Rough". The rough being the mass amount of fraud Italian restaurants in town. This place will accommodate singles up to large parties. The restaurant itself is an quant, cozy establishment, well decorated with authentic décor, and loads of pictures of regulars and the owners (Julian) interaction with the community. Documented on the walls for you to explore. Bring your own picture for them to hang on the wall! My family and I frequent this establishment on a once a week basis, and have not been disappointed with any of the menu items. There is a wide variety of selections to choose from, and if you just can't decide, throw a dart. You won't be disappointed! Small live bands on Friday nights play the real Italian tunes to make the experience that much better. There is a small bar for those that want a different kind of experience. Decent selection of wines to choose from (Glass/Bottle). Prices on food and drinks are comparable with most other establishments, but portions and quality are better. The staff is very friendly and helpful with any of your needs. Julian is a good guy that runs a great establishment!

Went with family members and ordered Italian sausage and peppers with side of pasta. Great flavor, great service, great price. Been twice since and have not been disappointed on flavor.

Have been going to Julian's now for about 6 months and happy to see it so busy! One of the top values for Italian food in the city of San Antonio. Great pizza and even better staff. So much better then any chain restaurant around. Love it!

If you like artichokes you need to get their chicken artichoke pizza. It's wonderful! The crust is unbelievable. I won't write a page because enough has been said!
Delicious Italian Food, Reasonable Prices
Came here for an early Sunday evening dinner, and there was already a 15-minute wait. Order and pay at the counter, then the food is brought to your table, piping hot. We had Chicken Parmesan and Chicken Piccata, both were very good. House wine was decent and the pour was generous. Would definitely go back!
