My husband and another couple met up for lunch Friday. Juliet's was amazingly empty. We got an excellent booth out of the traffic flow. The waiter was outstanding! Three of us ordered off the 2 course lunch specials. At $15, it was not nearly as expensive as the rest of the menu. The salads were outstanding as the broccoli side order was excellent. The entrees were good and no one went away hungry. The main downside is the acoustics. When it's crowded, conversation is nearly impossible. But today was lovely.

My husband and I have been wanting to try this place for some time. It showed up as a 1,000 points on OpenTable recently so no time like the present. Appears to be a big happy hour place as there parking lot was full. The patio was full as well. We sat indoors at one of the two person booths along the wall. Clean lines and décor. This was just a dinner on a Wednesday so no need to go over the top. We ordered only entrees. My husband got the beef tenderloin and I got the Capellini with shrimp added. My dish was ok. The sauce didn't go with the pasta. It was too heavy for angle hair with three shrimp. My husband said there was nothing wrong with his beef but nothing special about it. Honestly, it feel like the menu is in a weird spot. Not American Italian food and not really Italy Italian food. We have spent a lot of time in all regions of Italy. The waiter, Jordan, was fine but not overly friendly. He did his job, take our order but not more than that. We finished with the cantaloupe/mint sorbet which was fun to try. Glasses of wine were reasonable in cost and for the quality of the wine. It could be that we didn't order well. We will give another shot and hope for a more memorable meal. I do wish them well as this location has always had a tough time. Better food than Romeo's and better décor. Our entrees, two glasses of wine and desert were $90 before tip. Nice that there is parking when lot is not full. Is this review helpful? If so, tell me below.

After reading the reviews, this is a consistent theme: Poor service. The place was relatively empty, yet we had to search for our waitress several times. She never checked on the food. The manager did make amends by removing a few items from the bill but would have preferred a better meal and service. Pizza tasted terrible and was doughy. Will not return

My expectations regarding Italian restaurants are higher than any other kind of diners or eateries. Juliet Restaurant exceeded my expectations by far. Food was out of this world, not to mention the friendly & competent service. (Brooklyn was our waitress). But also the greeting crew let you feel to be at a special place right away as well as anybody else involved in the service. I hope I have a chance to come back asap.

Sometimes mediocre food is made better by great service and sometimes mediocre service is made better with great food. Not in this case. Arancini was meh. Rigatoni not special. Chicken Piccata lacked flavor and had watery polenta. I've been here before and the food has never impressed. The bartender couldn't bother to take our order, was frustrated when we asked to taste the wine, didn't take dirty plates away and then threw the check and credit card machine on the bar without a word that they were closing, no mention of last call. No courtesy extended to us whatsoever. The back atmosphere is nice and we being outside. Shame about the other because it's a great location with lots of parking.

This is an absolutely beautiful remodel - fabulous! And a Huge and awesome deck! But it's a restaurant, right? Grade on architecture/remodel = A; Restaurant/ Bar Grade = F If you cannot produce the drinks in less than 30 minutes and even the appetizers in less than an hour - then shouldn't you rethink what were and are the "restaurant/ bar priorities" - right? So this gorgeous place has the "yellow jacket bar" on the patio outside - we nicknamed it for the swarming of the bar and bartenders by the yellow & black pests! The servers waited for drinks they could not begin to produce fast enough. The kitchen and bars(2) have to take care of 200+(?) guests but are either undersized or undermanned at least on our recent weekend visit. In short this absolutely beautiful spot has to rethink and reload on what their business is and change the staffing numbers and go to just 2 hostesses instead of 6(?) to allow for more kitchen help? And please please please take care of the yellow jackets with a pro service before somebody allergic to being stung is stung!!! Juliet - Wherefore art thou?

This is definitely a good restaurant if you are interested in homemade pasta, sausage, an excellent list of Italian wines. Everything and everyone was excellent. Staff was friendly, our server was excellent. Just the right amount of attention. The food was delicious and prepared perfectly.

At 6:30 PM on Wednesday, traffic was moderate in this location close to downtown Austin but found parking very difficult to negotiate. Juliet's has a small parking lot but full, everything nearby was full but discovered an underground parking lot that two nearby restaurants shared. Live Jazz Music was offered with a promotion from KUTX..."The Austin Music Experience" Turned out to be a Texas Swing Trio. Not what was expected though probably more my fault since this is ... Austin. Accomplished musicians but the kitchen and service staff ..... not so much! My wife and I shared the Butter Lettuce Salad (good) and the Marinated Olives, (excellent). The real disappointment was in both entree selections. I chose the Veal Parmigiana with Spaghetti Marinara and my wife the Veal Marsala with fettuccine. Both were nearly inedible. Veal Parmigiana was sauteed but was cold with burnt edges on a thick scaloppine style cut of veal. The marinara sauce looked and tasted like congealed Hunt's Tomato Sauce, and the noodle seamed homemade, not al dente, but raw and hard. The Veal Marsala had thick veal medallions, not a cutlet style, and again cold that may have contributed a bitter taste to the Marsala sauce with the pasta noodle more like a soggy piece thick rope without any taste. Both red wines were Italian varietals served by the glass. The Primitivo was okay but the Montepulciano tasted stale and a little burnt and was somewhat overpriced. Decided to skip the dessert when the waiter said he couldn't find a menu and seemed to be lackluster was uncaring, definitely ...no love!

Juliet's Italian Kitchen Is One Of Our Favorites In Austin. Authentic Classic Italian Dishes Crafted From Scratch. The Pasta Dishes Are Reminiscent Of Italian Cuisine We Have Enjoyed In Milan, Portofino, Florence And The Piedmont Regions Of Italy. The Barton Springs Location Is Our Favorite Of The Three. The Service Is Always Impeccable. Good Wine Prices, Happy Hour And Brunch Offerings. Extremely Delicious Food & Service.

We visited the new open Arboretum location of Juliet's on a Wednesday evening, wanting to eat outside but a cold front had arrived so were seated inside. The number of large groups outside and in on Wednesday surprised and pleased us. A restaurant of this caliber was sorely needed to replace Brio's, the previous restaurant. First the good aspects of the evening: the wait person was attentive and knowledgable, although overworked with the groups. The appetizer of calamari was excellent and innovative with the jalepenas and lemon wheels battered and fried! My Pork Toretta was excellent, and my husband enjoyed his Seafood Scampi, but felt it could be improved by using a lighter pasta than fettuccine. Now the needed improvements: it is a NOISY interior and got more so by the time we left at 7:30 -- eat outside if you want a quiet environment. Please buy some pepper grinders -- when asked if they had ground pepper for the non-descript garlic oil, we were brought a pepper shaker -- if afraid of COVID, the wait person can grind and take the shaker away! And, finally, the foccacio was thick and doughy - with neither a definite herb flavor nor crunchy exterior. We certainly will go back, sit outside, and experience different menu items. We are so pleased that this southside restaurant opened a branch up north, and we will do our part to keep it open!

This restaurant is in the location of the first restaurant I ate in when I moved to Austin years ago. I was sad to see the original gone, however, this place was great. The decor, the service, and most important the food were all fantastic.

I really liked their Funghi pizza, their orange soda and their sorbetti peach and basil. The service was really good.

The service was good, but the food was very disappointing. The lasagna was tasteless and pretty soggy. It was also barely warm. The tiramisu was stodgy. I think they need to up their game!

We were eleven adults and youth. All could find choices that they enjoyed! The servers were attentive and timely. Food was delicious and presented attractively! Great experience!

We sat at the outside bar / patio. The drinks were great, the food was amazing and the service was first class. A nice find in Austin

We arrived twenty minutes early for our reservation to celebrate my sister's engagement. There was only 4 of us keep in mind. They seated us promptly which we were thrilled with but that faded as they put us in a dark uncomfortable room with nobody else around us and it felt very odd. We asked to change tables which we passed 5 open tables and they said we couldn't change because " those are reserved tables. Hmm odd we made the same reservation and even arrived early? The management was shocked by this request and was very uncomfortable. Everyone, I politely asked, " can we please be seated at another open 4 top table" stared blankly at me and pointed at someone else I could talk to. Followed by this was slow service, weak drinks, and Italian food I could prepare at a novice level. Step it up the atmosphere and stuck up attitude doesn't help your food.

We had visited Juliet in the past before the menu change and the revamp of the restaurant. While our experience last time was wildly inconsistent between dishes, I'm pleased to report that with this new menu, our experience was more positive. Excellent wine list and lovely main course dishes. I enjoyed the vodka sauce with rigatoni and my husband the fettuccine with mushrooms. The bruschetta was so so, but the bread itself was quite good. Our service was not what we expected as we had to flag down our server multiple times just to order, but I suspect that this was because our server was servicing various sections on a Friday night. All in all, a great update to a restaurant that missed the mark the first time around.

Sunday Brunch at the Arboretum site. Met with family from out of state. Understaffed.. kitchen painfully slow. One member of our family ordered chicken salad, which was served with undercooked tough, foul smelling chicken. Server said there was complaints about the chicken, but management did not remove from menu... will not return!

This is the first time I have been here. We were visiting our daughter & family & wanted to take them out for a nice dinner. This place was nice, classy, not too overbearing. The server was friendly, patient, & helpful. We had a variety of dishes. Everything was very good. The prices were higher than I expected & really on the pricey side. It is worth a special occasion visit.

The location is accessible and venue familiar. The menu and food were very good. The service needed a lot of improvement. I look forward to hearing others’ experiences.

I really want to like this place. I've eaten there now 3 times and have walked away disappointed all 3 times. I love Italian food and really like the menu, but the food and the service is just average. Really nice space and a great location, but it should be better.

This was the second time we stopped by for appetizers before we went to a concert in the area and were not disappointed. There are times when I don't want to say anything about a place that I really enjoy as it becomes discovered and then I cannot ever enjoy the ambiance that I enjoyed before the loss of innocence. so to speak, of numerous places in Austin over the years. I should say nothing of this place and hopefully I will continue to enjoy the great food before a concert in the future but as I never expressed the enjoyment of Romeo's I shall say the rebirth here is great. The new remodeled design is great, modern and comfortable. We sat outside both times and the service was good and reasonable fast. We had the Cozze and Salsiccia (mussels and sausage), Gonichi (Lamb), Pesce crudo, and Gold Beets. All excellent...! Of course, the drinks are not cheap unless one makes it for happy hour and even then if on a tight budget may give it a strain. If you were an old time Romeo fan, check it out. Good vibes..

If you stick to the italian options, you'll be pleasantly surprised - the pastas are good, the wine-list is stocked with reasonable options, and the pizza is really not bad. The bread, OTOH, makes this a "destination dining" experience - chewy, crusty, filled with flavor, its well worth the visit. Oh, they, inexplicably, offer *sausage* on their pasta carbonara. Weird, I know, but do get it on the side - it is *stellar*. Just not something one should put on carbonara, but still, STELLAR

Service slow, appetizers and wine pours were extremely small for the prices. Very disappointed. Waiter barely checked on us. Wine was spilled by a passing waiter on my husband’s briefcase, no apologies.

The food was fabulous and the staff did a phenomenal job of working with us. Can't wait to go back and eat there again.

Wow! We walked in on a Saturday! Granted there were 7 of us, but the restaurant was completely empty, they said we had to wait a half an hour to get a table! We said we could split up, they said we still had to wait! I said to them, but you are completely empty, the hostess and manager said we still had to wait a half an hour! We have traveled all over the world and never have encountered such bad bad service!

Amazing staff!! The Manager was so helpful and welcoming. He made our night. Food was wonderful & the restaurant was beautiful. We will be back!!

The food at Juliet was great! I have never had anything like the Rosetta ball appetizer! Visited this place for a team dinner. Very nice outside area and bar. Seems to be a great place for a evening date. I suggest giving it a try. If your looking for cost effective this isn't the place for you. I didn't mind for the service and the food we received. Will return

A group of four of us went here for a Sunday "brunch" but the menu was open to order anything. As a result our orders varied... biscuits and gravy, a meatball pizza, a shrimp & pasta dish, a Caesar salad, steak and eggs. There was also some delicious rosemary bread on the table and some small cornbread muffin type things. All very good. Also, don't envision "biscuits and gravy" or "steak and eggs" as you would at some roadside diner. Juliet creates some beautiful plates... the biscuits and gravy consisted of one beautiful-looking, homemade biscuit along with braised short-ribs, some shaved green onion, a "gravy" of some sort, grilled kale and potatoes. The steak and eggs were maybe 6-8 ounces of grilled skirt steak that was cut and fanned out on the plate and some mashed potatoes, a salsa ringing the plate and two poached eggs. Everything was great including the lattes we ordered as well. We sat in a long, thin room that faced the street with a mural on the wall. The service was friendly and attentive. There is outdoor dining as well and it seems like a great place to hang out on a Friday night outside. There was a three-piece band playing out on the patio too. The place was empty when we walked in and packed by the time we left. Give it a try.

Juliett is new so I hope the things I found were wrong will be fixed. The menu and food were very good but it is the overall experience that forms a memory. The service was very disappointing in every way. Reception was slovenly and uninviting. Table service was substandard. Food and drinks were out of order. The drinks were short pour and wrong drink and came part way through our entrees.

Pat, our waiter was excellent, attentive but not overbearing. Half priced all wine bottles on Tuesdays is a great concept. Calamari appetizer was a miss, not only because there wasn’t enough calamari but it could have been salted and flavored. Polpette had too much grated parmigiana cheese in it. Pappardelle funghi had plenty of mushrooms but they were the button mushrooms which were flavorless; perhaps porcini mushrooms would have added depth of flavors?

I've eaten here twice now and both times it was an excellent experience. Wonderful food, good portions (but not to big) and excellent service. You can't beat the patio on a nice, cool night. Try the broccoli...I know, it's just broccoli, but the best broccoli I've ever had. A little kick of spice takes it over the edge, without being too spicy. The butter salad is nice and light, and very flavorful, and my favorite pizza is the Genovese! Highly recommend you give it a try.

Wonderful, home made pasta. Great price point for lunch - you can choose two items as part of your power lunch. Attentive staff. Cool vibe.

Nice atmosphere on the outdoor patio, attentive wait staff (when he was around) but the food was fairly mundane, with the Ceci Fritti being very crunchy but good. We had the Butter Lettuce salad with shaved red onion, avocado, candied pecans, champagne vinaigrette, which was good but not over the top. Our entree was Seared Texas Redfish, which arrived about 45 minutes after finishing our salad, (with no sign of our server or explanation) and had to be returned because of the overpowering fishy taste. They did offer us a replacement, but after waiting all that time, we were over it. A bad piece of fish is not the end of the world and I would definitely try Juliet again. The patio was lovely but, there were some huge tables of 10-12 diners, which may have accounted for the wait. My daughter has eaten there before and said it was always good! Had the Amelia Earhart cocktail, very good (tart) with creme de violette and a fresh violet floating in the lavender concoction. All the dishes were well-presented, just wish the service had been better.

This is a place I wanted to love. Austin needs a few more relaxed, but "adult" restaurants and the city could certainly use an infusion of good Italian cuisine. Juliet was a disappointment, largely because my wife and I had relatively lofty expectations. The kitchen at Juliet does not produce original or memorable Italian cooking. Almost every dish we ordered could be described as "OK" (unless you have recently dined at Babbo, in this case you might walk out furious. We are so removed from great NYC Italian that our taste-buds have been dulled). Additionally, the servers tried, but they struck us as under-trained or inexperienced. Our principal server disappeared for long stretches and I am convinced she was merely preoccupied with social media. Juliet is fine if you just need a good-looking place downtown and don't mind that it is not "really" Italian.

We were visiting from out of town for our daughter's soccer tournament. We arrived at 5pm for an early dinner WITH our children. We ordered a glass of wine and were told by the waiter, before receiving a second libation, we needed to eat our dinner!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!?!?!? My friends and myself are 40 year old business women with 9 children between the 4 of us. I was appalled that this 20 something millennial male waiter had the audacity to tell a group of patrons when and how to eat!!! Not to mention my dinner was burned and uneatable when it arrived!! I have never been treated so poorly at a venue IN MY LIFE!!! I did speak with the manager on 2 separate occasions to which he had 2 different excuses...neither of which made any sense or had any basis...as to why his server behaved in such fashion. Austin has many wonderful dining options. Spend your time and money wisely...NOT AT JULIET!

We started off with the PEI mussels; the three of us love mussels. Unfortunately, what we were served was clearly not fresh. The odor of the platter was horrid. Each of us tried a mussel. We sent it back. Next was the pasta de funghi - Zero flavor. The 17 layer lasagna was burned. The rigatoni with sausage and bacon was over cooked and flat. The Mahi mahi with risotto suffered from the same problem as the mussels, a lack of freshness. A bright spot was the tomato basil soup. The flavor was spot on, but it had the consistency of pasta sauce. The service was decent, but how can you serve a table of guests a platter of mussels that smells like a garbage bin?

Ate dinner with a business group and thoroughly enjoyed the homemade ravioli. We didn’t have a reservation and they accommodated our group of 8 without issue. Our waiter Phil was amazing. Great place for Italian food in Austin.

Brunch here was memorable. Tried the aperol spritz on their drinks list and it was stunning. Will return there just for that drink the next time I visit Austin. The complimentary bread was served with olive oil mixed with toasted garlic, which was unique and tasty. Dishes were great too. Good location close to Zilker Park as well!

This was our first visit to Juliet Italian Kitchen, and only one of our party of three enjoyed the meal. The veal marsala was salty and chewy and the chicken piccata was fairly bland, as were the cheese ravioli. On a positive note, the cioppino was very good. Too, this restaurant has a good wine list. Our server was friendly and fairly attentive. I doubt I would return to this restaurant as Austin has so many more Italian dining venues.

Juliet is wonderful! Outdoor seating, indoor seating, private dining rooms -- all beautiful and warm. Fantastic Italian food and extensive wine selection.

We visited Juliet Restaurante on a busy Wednesday night in Austin. We had a large party so we were seated inside which was on the porch. It was quiet so we could have a conversation (not that we are that old! But outside was very busy and loud. We started with the olive oil tasting which was delicious and opened our crowd to different flavor of the oil. Most of us had homemade pasta which was light and flavorful. We were so full we couldn't think of dessert but they looked scrumptious as they went by to other tables.

Juliet was my choice for my birthday dinner and we were so disappointed. Pros: The food was very good. The octopus appetizer and chickpea appetizer were excellent, although the appetizers arrived sixty minutes into our meal, after the debacle of the bar service as outlined below. The grilled romaine salad and beet salad were delicious, and our entrees were excellent as reported by our party of six. Cons: The bar service was beyond terrible. We ordered a round of cocktails for six, which arrive 40 minutes after we sat at the table. Two of the drinks (gin martinis), when sipped, were immediately sent back as they did not taste at all like a gin martini. Watery and not like the Bombay Sapphire ordered. My husband opted for a beer for his second drink and another gin martini was ordered for our other guest. The replacement drinks arrived 10 minutes later. The replacement gin martini tasted like kerosene (literally!) and was refused. A beer was ordered, which arrived an additional 10 minutes later, even though by now we were complaining about the terrible and slow cocktail service. Our guest finally received his beer 55 minutes after ordering the first cocktail! One of our guests ordered a glass of red wine after her cocktail and the waitress brought her her "favorite red wine" and then told her it was $25 a glass..was that okay? Our guest promptly refused the ridiculously priced glass of wine and asked for a glass of house red wine. Cons: The service was mediocre and unapologetic about the terrible and slow bar experience. Our waitress was accompanied by a "server in training" and we think was given three big tables to wait on during the evening, which was not manageable. Our server, however, did not acknowledge the long wait our guest had to make for his first drink and not terribly responsive to remedy this situation. We made it apparent at several points in the evening that we were unhappy with the bar situation, but there was no attempt to rectify it either. We were stunned to receive the check and an 18% gratuity had been added to it for our party of six. In this situation (which was not a happy birthday experience), it would have been appropriate and well received, if the restaurant had provided a complimentary birthday dessert or free round of drinks or a free appetizer for a party that was there to celebrate a birthday and obviously was not having a happy experience. Bottom line: We will not be back to Juliet.

I agree with Tom Gs comment. Since they have expanded the quality has certainly gone down. Plus they refuse to offer a vegetarian option for their 5-course meal with wine pairing. If you want a great experience visit Juniper.

My partner and I along with our 2 youngest sons ventured down to the Barton Springs to give Juliet a try. We should have probably made reservations since the place was busy for a Wednesday evening, the host said they had an event happening in one of the dining rooms. Since it was pretty hot out the patio wasn't packed, they have a covered dining area with fans so it was comfortable. We were seated quickly and the server was quick to greet our table and get us drinks. They have a great craft cocktail and nice wine list so we opted for a nice Pinot Noir. The food was all on point. I started with a Caesar salad, had Bolognese as my entrée and finished with Tiramisu, My partner had a butter lettuce salad and the Rigatoni ala Vodka and both our boys had pizza and Gelato. Everything came out quick, hot and was exactly as we expected, fresh pasta house made sauces and hand tossed pizza. We had a great time and will certainly be back again, although probably will make reservations next time. I saw they do brunch on the weekends and that sound like a great idea for next time.

Food prices are moderate here all the time, but with all bottles of wine discounted 50% on Tuesdays, you can get yourself a tremendous bargain on that day (two of us had a fine meal with wine for just over 60 dollars). The grilled octopus starter was a bit short on octopus, but it was tender and delicious. We had the butter lettuce salad, which was enough for two. For our entree, we shared the linguini with clam sauce. Although tasty, I might have opted for something different if I had read the description carefully; the clams are shucked, and the sauce is a rather heavy, with a base of Parmesan cheese and cream. Most dishes (including salads and entrees) are shown with two prices. Our server explained that the lower priced-portions are designed for two people who are not famished; the higher-priced portions serve two or three people. There’s no extra charge for splitting a dish between two diners. Service was capable and attentive. There’s an ample parking lot adjoining the restaurant, but on the evening we were there it was — not surprisingly — full.

What a wonderful evening we have just experienced at Juliet Ristorante. We live in the area and have decided to try happy hours at our neighborhood restaurants. Juliet this evening was one of our best surprises. The restaurant is much larger than it appears from outside. Good size outside bar and garden seating. There is an ample parking lot and easy street parking when that fills. We arrived close to 5:00 and stayed two hours. Gina was our waitress... very attentive and very knowledgeable about the wines and menu. We never felt rushed. We had three appetizers that were very good and I wound up ordering a dinner that we all shared. Everything was excellent and presented nicely. Because of our wonderful experience at Juliet Ristorante, we have designated it as one of our neighborhood go-to places. Juliet and Gina, we will be back often.

Patio is beautiful but service and food below average. Pasta did not seem homemade and arrived cold to our table. Grab a glass of wine here for happy hour but don't stay for dinner.

really good place but is closed June 5 thru June 19 for renovations. Visited yesterday and saw the sign...curiously no contractors working, no construction materials, no construction dumpster...so hope is short term renova and not long term GONE

Went for dinner and sat on the patio. Patio is lovely with fans and mists. I say that, because the waiting staff kept disappearing as if it was a bad place to be! Despite requesting a gap between our sharing plate and main course, they were served minutes apart, which meant our pizza was sat there whilst we deterred flies. Then, when we’d finished we had to ask for the food to be taken because we were deluged with flies. It was a shame as the food was excellent. The waiting staff were poor. A hot evening where we had to keep asking for ice would say to most to check in with your tables…it didn’t! Maybe we should have chosen an indoor table… the wait staff were plentiful indoors….

Fancy place. Good size portions. Friendly people. Good food. Clean. Parking available for customers!!!!!!!!!

Haven’t been here in years and wasn’t missing out. The carbonara was tasty but one of the poached eggs was over cooked. Felt the server was at the end of her shift as she ignored us. Chicken parm was ok, nothing special or something I’d make another trip for to this place. We’re usually 20% plus tippers but not this time.

The service was good. The menu was expensive and really bad. The only item we liked was the calamari appetizer. The pizza was the worst we have ever had, soggy and no flavor. The pasta was just OK. The Caesar Salads were basic and unremarkable. We rarely post negative reviews but this place needs to up their game. It felt like we were eating cheap food at expensive pricing.

The ambience and waitstaff were friendly. (Hence the 2) Everything we ordered was so over salted it was crazy. After the food was delivered we never saw a server again. It was a little weird. I would think for all the places to go in Austin, I would skip this place for sure. No need to go unless you like oversalted food....

The atmosphere and food are perfection. The pasta was superb. Lasagna-unbelievable. I highly recommend this place.

My family stopped in for dinner. Service was great and we all enjoyed our selections. Bread basket with olive oil was delicious. Lasagna. Spaghetti. Fettuccini fungi. Cheese ravioli. We even got there before 7 so enjoyed a half price cocktail. Desserts were tasty too but lava cake was my favorite. Would return!

We ate a late lunch and decided on Juliet's because it was nearby. We could not have made a better choice. They seated us upstairs where we could look out over the downtown square. They took our orders promptly. The bruschetta was a delicious first course. I drank and excellent Aperol Spritz, the others in my party had wine. I ate the Chicken Picata, which was also delicious. Portion was large. I will definitely eat here again next time I'm in Georgetown.

Our last night in Austin, we chose JR for it's happy hour that is served even on Saturdays. It's a quiet place and we were early. The bartenders, Jonathan, Anna and Brandon were eager to please, so we set out to try the cocktail menu. Beautifully made drinks were put together from fresh ingredients in minimal amounts of time and at very nice prices! I moved on to the 1/2 price roses... bartenders very knowledgable about the wines, and when we decided to try the fleet of olive oils, we were led through them well. We also munched on some cheeses and bread, a fried plate of squid and other seafood, and finally left with smiles and promises to return. We felt like family there. Start with happy hour and don't leave!

This is our 6th visit in about 6 months, we frequently dine before a show at Zach Theatre, in fact on our first visit was SO impressed suggested that the mgr of resturant coordinate with theatre to offer before and after show specials. On 2nd visit, our resv table for 4 adults was a small booth in bar area, ok but all the food was brought out at same time and didn't fit on the table so we were juggling our table space.3rd visit party of 6,seated in great room facing Barton Sprgs, service was sad though, they FORGOT a meal ordered for one of our guest, no time to recover and serve bc we were already rushed to show.Again, open table resv for 4,requested table in the glass room facing Bsprings, were seated in dim lit room corner booth,Guests meals were terrible, each course they only ate a bite and pushed the remaining around while chatting and my pork tender dinner was cold, not table cold, refrig cold!,sent back and they heated and offered 1 dessert for the table to share. Our guests were great sports and agree this can happen. Wouldn't dare tell them it's a repeat preformance.Well it's not new to us. We will stick to the bar and drinks only. It has been great every time.

OMG!!!! House made pasta and gelato!!!!! We are foodies And live near Barton Springs Road. The GF pasta is made in-house also. Truly delicious. We enjoyed the calamari, the salad and butternut soup. Asked for some bread and got in-house made ciabatta with in-house made butter (a bit salty). Ended with the gelatin -- chocolate and Carmel -- also made there. I had the fungi pizza -- awesome. Service was great too.

Got here at 7:00 . Busy. Appetizer Calamari with sliced fried jalapeños good. Rest of meal disappointing, especially pizza. Will not return. Service good.

We dined here on a warm Saturday night in July. The overall experience was a good one and has the potential to be a great one. First off, the rooms are cozy and well appointed. There is a patio for milder days. Whoever designed the interior did a great job. Noise is kept to a reasonable level and each space has a distinct feel. The wallpaper in the restroom corridor is fantastic and I want it for my beach house). Food was a home run, with a slight hesitation on the dessert. Ceci fritti was salty and delicious. Salad of seasonal peaches was spot on, as well the grilled romaine was perfectly dressed. For main courses the tuna mezzaluna was light and refreshing. I believe the standout to be the spring onion risotto (although the plating seems a bit tight). For dessert we samples 2 items. The caramel gelato was superb. The lemon tart lacked, well, tartness. It was like a bland lemon pudding, however the crust was nice. The servers, while all very friendly and attentive, could step up just a bit. This was the catalyst for 4 stars instead of 5. A few minor yet noticeable errors: no offer of cracked pepper for the salads, yet was offered to the tables around us. As well, the server stopped by to check on us while carrying dirty plates from another table. This is a continual point of frustration for me- I do not want to see other's used utensils in my face. Great wine list and some really inventive cocktails as well. I have to say that I am surprised that Juliet is not ranked higher on TripAdvisor. For food quality this was one of my top 5 experiences in Austin. There is no doubt that I will return frequently. Maybe next time to sit at the bar and have a pizza (customers close to us were raving). The overall experience well outweighs a few service issues.

I just learned about Juliet Restaurant about 4 months ago. I've taken clients to lunch there 4 times since then, and always had a great lunch. Food is extremely good and service is exceptional.

I had never had grilled octopus before, but it is to die for here, and I'm glad they convinced me to try it! The fried calamari is great, too. After these appetizers, we followed up with spaghetti carbonara and lasagna. I guess I only thought I was full, b/c I polished off the very tasty and addictive carbonara, and my husband was equally pleased w/his lasagna. The interior has a modern & fresh design with a variety of seating that accommodates an intimate dinner for two to a more celebratory dinner for six or eight, and yet it's not overwhelming. Great local gem with parking available, which is great in light of Austin's urban density nowadays!

Happy hour starts early here at 3pm and they were very inviting. Service was top notch. The decor was tasteful and the wine selection by the glass was very good! Highly recommend.

I had the calamari appetizer and a Cesar salad as my lunch. The calamari was good but too many slices of cherry peppers. When I order calamari I expect the main part of the dish to be calamari. The portion size seemed small for the price. The calamari also came before the salad which I thought was unusual. The dressing on the Cesar was ok but lacked something. On the other hand my wife had the same salad and liked it. She had a pasta dish with vodka sauce and bacon and onions. The portion size seemed ok and she really liked it. She had enough left over to take some home. I tasted it and although not type of dish it was tasty. It was a little spicy but not crazy ghost pepper spicy. The service was ok. Some times it was superb but then the waiter was gone for a long time and it wasn’t it that busy at lunch. With so many other places in town, I wouldn’t go if you’re only in town for a few days. Go down the road to Shady Grove or Chuy’s.

We ate here for my daughter's birthday celebration and it couldn't have been a better choice. Entering from the expansive back parking lot, the deck and patio area is inviting with fans, misters, white lights and an outdoor bar. The cocktail list has a number of unique creations and I tried the Felini Martini (white wine, gin, orange bitters and lemon peel - fabulous!). We also tried the Frittelle di Mais (corn fritters, herbed goat cheese and radish salad) which was a great way to start our dining experience. That and a glass of white wine would be enough to eat on many a hot Austin evening. We had our dinner at a table inside toward the back of the dining room that, while it was a bit dark (we had to use our cell phone lights to read the menu) it was quite pleasant and quiet enough to actually hear our own conversation! Tables toward the front would be lighter but perhaps a bit noisier too. We tried the Salumi first course which was a prosciutto and coppa served with three kinds of cheese. The bread accompaniment was perfect! I had the Goat Cheese Agnolotti (pillow shaped stuffed pasta with corn, grape tomato and leeks) for my main course and it was more than I could eat. Wonderful blend of flavors and, with a glass of Vernaccio white wine, a great match. I was too full for dessert but the selections looked yummy. This is definitely a place that has made my top 5 in Austin to eat and entertain!

I went with a few reservations having dined at Romeo's for years and hoped Juliet would not be a weird clone. I could NOT have been more surprised by the lovely renovation. The quality of light and sleek sophistication is absolutely welcoming here! From the moment the hostess greeted us to the end of our meal - everything was wonderfully and skillfully executed. Highly trained waitstaff who are attentive and yet, unobtrusive. Highlights: DO try the olive oil tasting - it is unlike anything I have had in the States. Enjoyed a delicious Tuna Crudo which was the perfect portion for one and delightfully tripped out the taste buds! Bread basket was fresh and warm, the butter (thankfully) was easily spreadable. The Beet Salad was delicious - the addition of pomegranate was unusual and very good. The housemade sausage is fantastic and we added it to the Rigatoni Pomodoro. We were pleased by the quality of the mixed cocktails - I had one of the best Negroni Sour's in this city and the Aperol Spritz is light enough to drink over lunch. The wine selection is well thought out. My dining companion was thrilled to see an Italian Gewurztraminer as well as a Macendonian Pinot Noir on the menu. The meal closed with the Torta di Zenzero ( gingerbread cake) and the hazelnut stracciatella and both were quite nice. I would gladly return at my next opportunity to further explore this amazing menu!

This restaurant will keep me coming back to Austin. Great staff, food is unreal, and setting was perfect. We made reservations for Sunday at 12:00 thru Resy, which was very easy. Upon arrival, the very nice hostess team assured us of a nice table outside, and even though we had a slight delay due to traffic, they held our table, until we all arrived. Staff and waiters were great, but the food was outstanding. I could spend a week eating all these menu items! We had four different items, and all of them were crazy good! This is a MUST do in Austin! Very fresh Italian food, and a wait staff that is outstanding. Our waiter was outstanding, but they all work as a team. I love places like this! So well run, and authentic, yet local. As I said earlier, if there is one reason to come back to Austin TX, this little spot is it! Hats off to the staff and management!

We thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience. I'd say the food was excellent, but we were unimpressed with the decor -- didn't seem to match the menu. It was dark and almost dingy. They offered outdoor seating, but it was February and we preferred indoors particularly because they had live music outside (nice!) but we were trying to have a business conversation and didn't want to struggle to hear. Again, the food was great!.

We stopped by Juliet but came in a bit early so they didn't offer us the full menu however we decided to try their pizza's and have to say the 2 we had were fantastic. Fresh ingredients with lots of flavors even if the selection is limited (but for me this is a good indication). In addition, the patio is really nice and staff is very friendly and gave us great recommendations for the wines. If you're Looking for good pizza's, give it a try and you shouldn't be disappointed.

My wife and I have enjoyed going to this restaurant spot for decades since it was originally Romeos. Though we miss Romeo's famous spaghetti, we can say we've been more than pleased with the building's conversion into Juliet. There's a casual elegance in both the interesting cut of rooms and decor inside, and the spacious shaded outdoor surrounded by greenery. Yesterday we returned for a belated birthday lunch with a friend. Food was excellent, ordering current favorites - two of the fresh made (with Central Texas ingredients) pizzas: Margherita and Calabrese. Both were light, fresh, and very delicious. Juliet also has two great ice teas (a neccessity here in Austin!), regular and hibiscus. I like to have a mix of the two teas, which the server was more than glad to accommodate - and refill (smiles). Finally there's Juliet's location. Billed as being in the heart of Austin, and my wife and I having lived just south of the river most of our time in Austin, we'd have to heartily agree. If you are out enjoying Austin's Hike & Bike Trail, it's an easy walk or bike ride. If you're enroute to Barton Springs Pool or Zilker Park, you're probably gonna walk by it. If you're at Butler Park or attended an event at the Long Center or Palmer, it's an easy walk to South Lamar on Barton Springs Road and then Juliet. And if you're driving from somewhere further, there's a fair size parking lot shaded under huge trees. Yes, the atmosphere is right, the prices are right, and the food is great. My wife and I continue to make new memories at this easy to get to spot to eat and meet with friends (smiles).

Delicious food and drinks with great service. The Caprese salad, chicken piccata and tiramisu were perfection. There were so many great dishes on the menu.

Ate there about a week ago while visiting family in Austin. We had reservations. We were seated in an area not in the main dining room. It was very cold and asked to be seated in another area. Hostess said she would turn down the AC, which she did. A short time later it came back on and I got up to tell the hostess. She said I turned it back on by mistake. Toward the end of our meal they turned it on again. We were rushed in a very rude and unprofessional manner. My son was still finishing his entree when the server came to clean off our table and asked my son if he wanted a carry out box. They never asked if any of our family was finished they just started grabbing dishes. I have eaten at restaurants all over the world and this was the worst service I ever experienced. Too bad because the food was good, if only we had time to enjoy it.

It seemed like a nice change from food trucks and BBQ which abound in this area. The food was nice, standard Italian but a little overpriced. The service was a bit slow and the waiter seemed more interested in chatting up a couple of ladies at another table than serving us.

Limited, but interesting menu. The Bread Pudding French Toast is outstanding. Warning: the Frittata is served room temperature and the arugula can be bitter. The red wine cooler tastes like bubbly wedding punch. Stay out of the dark, windowless back room. Pricey.

We visited the new version of Juliet Italian Kitchen in The Arboretum (original on Barton Springs Rd.) for happy hour and dinner as part of our try and new restaurant every Friday night during our first year in Austin. We went because the menu looked very good, which it was, but our night was made special thanks to our wonderful server—Sara C. Happy Hour runs 3-6 p.m. every day. Sara immediately was at our table and made drink recommendations, we settled on a house wine ($6 for a selection of white, red or rose). They rotate the wines throughout the year. We paired the wine with a Cheese and Meat Board for two ($18) that included thinly sliced prosciutto and salami, two cheeses, crostini, gardenia, cracked mustard and a small bowl of their bruschetta. We also shared some of their fresh bread served as a greeting with dipping oil. We stayed for almost two hours and sampled their Salmon Crudo ($8), Meatballs ($15) and Chopped Caesar ($8). Sara kept our drinks full and provided us seven recommendations to other restaurants we should try around the city. She added a plug for Juliet’s on our next trip and we have our next dinner plotted out for when we return. BTW—If you do go for dinner Sara says the Pork Toretta ($23 for one $44 to share). It features a duroc pork tenderloin, caramelized onions, sweet potato gnocchi, fried artichokes and gorgonzola sauce. It was a bit chilly and wet (from a recent storm) so we could not sit outside. They have a beautiful, shaded patio that we will take advantage of the next time. We finished our meal with Tiramisu ($10), Cappuccino ($4) and Limoncello ($8). Sara sold us on the dessert which was very light and fluffy despite being a large portion. Also, it was not strongly coffee-flavored which allowed my wife to enjoy as well. Go for the food, take advantage of a generous happy hour, enjoy the patio and ask for Sara. You too will have a great night out with this winning combination.

This restaurant is lacking atmosphere, they have way too many staff but service is terrible. We arrived and there were five hosts just hanging at the door only one seemed to know what they were doing, first it is intimidating to guests and 2nd what a waste of money hiring people to stand and look bored. We got to the bar was met by a lovely bar lady but when we decided to sit down at the opposite end of the bar to where she was serving, she then ignored us meanwhile the other bar tender seemed run off his feet. She didn't seem to think she could help us. The food is good and the waiters are ok but it just seems to lack a dynamic manager who is in control. Empty tables which were reserved and yet we had to sit at the bar and wait when there were a team of people around who seemed to be doing nothing. It's a shame I don't think this restaurant will survive unless they invest significant management time into this place.

We just stopped for a drink and appetizers. Recommend are their pulpo as well as their olive oil. Try their cocktail with mescal - very smoky.

We liked this restaurant a lot, but it is not quite a 4. It is located very close to the theaters and it is an easy pick for a lot of people to go her prior to an event (which the current Janis Joplin show is!). So much so that they have a "theater" menu for those dropping in for a quick bite--2 courses for $28 and they serve it to comply with the times of the shows at Zach. Two of our friends ordered from it and were very pleased. The regular menu is not large, but it has many good options. Those of us that used the regular menu were very pleased. Their mussel appetizer is excellent--as are the pizza options. Some of our group tried th4e salads and they too were happy to use them as a starter. There is a happy hour form 3 to 6 and the house wine is a very good choice--the bartender assured us that it was a favorite, and it should be. At 5:30, the bar area was very crowded with a few "regulars" at it. The bar is located right at the front entrance and is a little more "exposed" than we like for a bar, but it is not a terrible situation. They do serve appetizers at the bar. The restaurant areas are broken into many smaller rooms, which makes for easy table conversations--little noise. The decor is far too bland--it needs some art to dress up the walls! There are service areas located in the front room and it is a little distracting, but not terrible. As for the service, it is decent but a little on the slow side for the drinks. It took them 5-10 minutes to bring out drink orders--that is far too long! Parking is available on the street and there is a valet at the back, but the line was 5 cars long, so I drove to the Zach lot, and parked there for the show and walked back--2 minutes. The valet is obviously slow and awkward (there was still a line when I walked by) and I did not want to have to wait to pick up my car and risk missing the start of the show. Our friends parked on the street and were very happy with that approach--the street slots are not policed after 7. You can park there, eat and go to the show for a couple of dollars vs. the $10 for the Zach lots. Bottom line: lots of good points here and good food--we will be back.

My husband and I had a fun date night at Juliet. We loved the decor and wallpaper and enjoyed our food and wine (the house red is fantastic). However, we experienced very poor service and the overall atmosphere indoors is lacking. It's a bit snooty for Barton Springs Road, and we felt that it was overpriced for the quality of service. I would probably go back for a drink on the patio, but not to dine.

Food cold, long time waiting between meals, oven doesn’t work ( focaccia bread cold also). Poor waitress service. “Jersey” no experience- no customer service attention. Great hills location.

I see many other reviews of bad service. Our service was pretty good. We had a group of 11 for brunch (with a reservation). The food pretty good. I had the PLATE sandwich and I would get it again. I think everyone in our group was satisfied with our brunch.

Sleeper hit on Barton Springs - great food, terrific atmosphere ..... But Jesse's phenomenal service and Southern charm made the night!

Juliet Ristorante is an authentic Italian ristorante. The decor is beautiful with Florence patterned wall paper and nice furniture. The service was very good and very attentive. The food was excellent and very authentic. We particularly enjoyed the pizza. The wine list is very good and the bar service is also very good. Warning! If you go for happy hour, do not sit in the dining area. They only honor happy hour in the bar area.

We visited the location in the Arboretum this month and found the service at the bar to be excellent. The food was nothing to crave but good.

My wife and I had a nice happy-hour visit here on their outdoor patio. Mitza took great care of us. The prices were most reasonable. I really liked the apple and Gorgonzola pizza. The salmon crudo was also a good choice.

Excellent food in a relaxed setting with good, unobtrusive service. Pastas were light and tasty, and a great octopus appetizer. Indoor and outdoor seating and reservations are strongly recommended.

Nice outdoor seating but nothing else great. Unimaginative menu; high prices; poor service. We really wanted to like it bc there's not enough good Italian food in Austin.

Worst Food... Not even close to Italian. Read the reviews also on the net Would not bother spending money here the food has no flavor at all This ticket for 2 dishes was about 50.00 not worth it at all

Strongly recommend two very different salads: Grilled Caesar, and Butter Lettuce (with a champagne dressing was light and refreshing). The short rib ragout in the Potato and Toma Agnolotti was superb. Will definitely return.

Truly enjoyed the Rose Collins drink. Happy hour is the best!!! Had a good time with my sister celebrating my bday. Complimentary ice cream for my bday, hazelnut and chocolate flavor, THE BEST EVER

This Italian restaurant is in the same building (since remodeled) as the old Romeo's and of related ownership. Its a short walk from the Zach theater so makes for a convenient pre-show meal. When we were there, they didn't have two of our wine choices and one of the beers listed so perhaps some updates to the menu or stock is in order. Also, I found the lasagna I ordered blacked around the edges to a crisp. I was assured this was the intended preparation when I asked and I wasnt bad tasting but the texture was a bit strange. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their dishes and the fried garbanzo beans make a nice appetizer.

We arrived early for a drink at the bar and enjoyed a nice glass of wine before dinner. The decor is beautiful, and the bartenders were very knowledgeable about the drink menu. For dinner, we tried three different types of cheese along with the charcuterie sampler. Both were such a nice start to the menu. Our group usually shares everything, so we asked the server for recommendations. We tried everything she suggested and were glad we did. For dinner, we tried the seared scallops, lasagna al forno, potato & toma agnolotti (short ribs with pasta), & duck confit torchio. There was not a dish that we did not absolutely love. This was the best meal I have had in years, and worth every penny. We can't wait to return......

We started with the gnocchi and calamari. The gnocchi is a must-eat! We told the waiter that they should double the portion and make it an entree. I had the special, I think it was short rib tortellini, which was incredible. It's too bad it's not a permanent menu item. My only complaint is that there were only 7 tortellinis, which really wasn't much. We also had cheesecake for dessert. It's hard to mess up cheesecake - it was delicious! The food was so good that I can't hold the service kinks against them. My water glass was empty a couple of times and we were given our entrees with no utensils to eat them with. I'd highly recommend this place and go back anyway.

After hearing rave reviews I was excited to try this little haven on Barton Springs. The location near the last bit of old Austin--nestled between Shady Grove and the food trailers--I wanted to feel a bit more of the hippie vibe that this part of Austin is known for. The restaurant space has a great osteria feel to it, with a beautiful outdoor area as well [and ample parking!]. The smell of the wood-fired oven also pleases the senses. Unfortunately, I was underwhelmed by the menu, the food, and the portion size for lunch. The bread was perfect--rustic loaf with a solid crust--and a blessing since the vegetable salad had about 6 pieces of roasted vegetables on it. A carrot split in half, a halved spear of broccoli, a little piece of fennel. It had a delicious sauce and a dot of creme fraiche, but for the price, I would have liked a little more substance. If you are with a group it would be a great place to spend some time.

We had a wonderful dinner at Juliet's. Service, food quality and price for quality were great. The wine list was small but included good quality wines. The casual environment was warm and romantic. The gnocchi and grilled octopus appetizers were very tasty. The homemade gnocchi was light and obviously homemade and the octopus was tender. The spaghetti carbonara and smoked ravioli entrees were spectacular. Our cheese plate end to the meal was excellent. The cheeses were very fresh and interesting. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in the Austin area (visitors and residents).

When we walked in there were a lot of people and a lot of commotion and I was afraid it was going to be a noisy meal, but they led us to a table toward the back and it was immediately quieter and easy to talk. The menu was interesting, and while I am fussy about what I will eat, there were quite a few things that I wanted to try. We shared an appetizer from the menu and I ordered a fish special for my main course. The appetizer was fine but not memorable, but my fish was delicious. Perfectly cooked and a lovely combination of flavors. The service was attentive without being pushy, and they let us take our time even though it was a busy Friday night. I will go back.

Juliet joins ranks with a large number of new restaurants in the overcrowded city of Austin. Hip, cool decor, pricey, pretty - but totally unexperienced - staff and not really good food. Calling it Italian is a sham. Only people believing that "olive Garden" is an Italian restaurant might buy this. A Carpaccio overloaded with stuff, pickles and tuna is not a Carpaccio. (disgusting). When asking the chef to do a really (simple) Carpaccio, they refuse. Pizza like everywhere else, pasta with too many flavors in one plate, the Texas Quail (Italian restaurant, ehh!!!) was dry like bone and the "Tiramisu" is sweetened Mousse au chocolat with Vanilla custard, brrrr, To many Californian wines also indicate the lack of Italian focus, a 2012 Antinori they sell for 40 (forty) bucks a glass (No kiddin). It's for young un-travelled professionals (new to Austin) who prefer scene and decor to food. The decor is pretty though.

Simply excellent. Grilled octopus is perfect for appetiser. Homemade sausage has wonderful flavour. Pizza is excellent. Pasta is homemade and perfect. Service really on spot. Highly suggest you give this place a try.

We arrived a few minutes early and were seated immediately. When we asked for a different table (I prefer chairs to bench seating), it appeared to flummox them for a moment, but they dealt quickly. The seafood pasta I ate was okay. The pasta was a bit heavy for the dish; an angel hair would have been preferable. The seafood flavors came through, though there were no other flavors at all, so it was somewhat bland. For dessert I chose blood orange sherbet, which was a bit sweet. My co-diner's chicken fettuccini funghi was pleasant, but nothing exceptional. Service was pleasant if a trifle slow. Overall, I would eat here again but wouldn't go out of my way, or tell visitors "You MUST try this". It is very convenient for dinner before shows at ZACK theater.

I had the pleasure of eating at Juliet while attending a work seminar. We were seated in a small room fronting Barton Springs - very pleasant. My lunch consisted of Grilled Romaine salad (parmigiano reggiano, courtons, Caesar dressing), Shhrimp Scampi Fettucine (4 gulf shrimp, artichoke, grape tomato, white wine butter sauce), and Spiced Ricotta Fritters (sweet potato cream, salted caramel, toasted meringue, and candied pecans). They were all delicious, although I would choose a different dessert as the Fritters weren't very sweet. The service was excellent. The restaurant was tastefully decorated. There was outdoor seating as well.

OK, but the outdoor bar area is very nice. Upscale, to some degree for the above crowd. We sat at the bar, and the meatballs really are good, I gotta say. TINY manhattans. I politely mentioned this to the young lady tending bar and she took issue with me. Oh well, many other places to go in Austin, since I won't be going back here.

Definitely will come again!! Food was a served at a fair time, service was great and the food was deliciosooo! 😃

My visit to this eatery was wonderful. The menu has something for anything you might be craving and has a large selection for those who must choose a gluten free meal. In two months, due to business in Austin, I chose this place to visit on 4 different occasions. I will continue to go back not only for the service but for the wonderful meal. My favorite dishes are Chicken Saltimbocca and the Fettuccine with Parmesan Mushroom Cream Sauce.

we didn’t eat like typical guests of austin but so glad we ended up here. we had lunch (they don’t do saturday brunch)- a 2 course prefixe menu. bruschetta was the best i’ve ever had at a restaurant, rigatoni was so satisfying, and we also tried the burnt broccoli. very fairly priced. super cute atmosphere!! great service as well

We arrived at Juliet at 5:45pm on Sat, Aug 18 and thank goodness we made a reservation since the restaurant t was already quite full an d I know why. The key points that one looks for in a restaurant were present in abundance. Let me first mention the noise level which is major problem in most Austin restaurants. At Juliet we were seated in a well appointed small room where the tables were fairly well separated and the noise level at a conversational level.. And for martini lovers it should be noted that their bar stocks Plymouth gin and Dolan vermouth. which my wife and I enjoyed with a small order of fried calamari. My wife ordered lasagna and I had cioppino which is a fish stew. Both were great tasting and the portions were abundant. I've had cioppino at other restaurants in Austin which lacked sufficient sea food. The services was prompt and accommodating and the tab was less than a hundred bucks. Buen Provecho!

So glad I gave Juliet another chance after a disappointing brunch on my first visit. My second visit to Juliet was a winner. Get the Osso Bucco for two and the calamari -not to be missed! Robert was an outstanding server. I will be back for that Osso Bucco for certain!

It's so nice to find good restaurants that accommodate dogs, and Juliet is one of them. We enjoyed lunch on the patio on a pleasant winter day. My husband loved the spaghetti Bolognese while I found the Pesto Primavera with Rigatoni both creative and satisfying. A bottle of red Italian wine accompanied our meal. Service was neither rushed nor sluggish, which was perfect. No complaints from our dogs either!

Had dinner last night at Juliet for the first time. Walking in I really liked the vibe of the place, the staff seemed relaxed and happy, nice decor, tables are not to close together. No pretense. We enjoyed a nice Prosecco to start and shared the meatballs and gnocchi for a starter. Both very good. This was followed by Ravioli and the pasta special, again both were fresh and tasty and the portions were a perfect size. With that we and an Italian rose wine. Finally we shared a cheese cake, that too was good, but the mint sauce was a little overpowering, so we ate around that. Service was attentive but not overbearing, which I really liked. The bill was reasonable $145 for the above (without tip). We left content and will be back.

The authentic Italian aroma welcomed us to a quiet side room. I created a sampler of olive oil, meat, and cheese for my plate. Our server answered questions and described the accompaniment.

Two young grand kids, our kids, and ourselves, all had a great time. Many families present. (Juliet is a fancy dinner place - I don't know whether small children would be appropriate for dinner). Wait staff was great. Helped keep our grandkids (2&5) happy by getting food to them immediately, and are clearly used to small kids on Sunday mornings. Pretty expensive, but we would go back. Two of us had a wonderfull bread pudding french toast, one had a nice risotto, and the girls delighted in cheese pizza and my appetizer meatballs!

One of the things that contributed to our enjoyable evening was the good service. We changed tables to take advantage of happy hour so we had help from a few servers and everyone was great...friendly, helpful, and accommodating. We had drinks and appetizers, followed by dinner. The timing of the service was right, prompt but not rushed. A goat cheese pasta dish was the favorite, but everything we tried was good. A little bread might have been nice with the pasta...no extras makes it seem a little pricey. The menu needed some "translation" from the Italian, but our server was happy to oblige. Nice atmosphere and decor.

I know Romeo's closed forever ago, but this was a disappointment. We arrived with 7 others for dinner on a Wednesday. There were many open tables but we were told they weren't sure they could seat us because of reservations. It was almost 7:00. We were seated outside. That was our first mistake. The area is only separated from Barton Springs Road by a fence. The road noise made it almost impossible to have a conversation with anyone other than the person right next to you. Our server, Rian, acted like we were more of a problem than he wanted to deal with. One person at our table is gluten intolerant. Someone else brought our food to us, but was not told where to place the GF meal. Several people had to ask several times for large spoons for spaghetti. The one positive was he did ask if we would like separate checks. The prices were high for the area or it has gotten too expensive to eat along Barton Springs.

This is outstanding Italian food. The pasta with Duck Confit Torchio with added home made sausage was brilliant. However, the calamari appetizer was only average and I'd pass on that in favor of the octopus.

a casual stopby on a hot July...great lemonade, soup and salad...Anna was super in taking care of us...parking great, ambience superb

We had the lasagne and tomato/mozarella brushetta. Both were delicious. The bar and outdoor areas have great ambiance as well.

Started off with several appetizers that included the Polpo, Garbanzo beans, calamari. The octupus had very little taste and would not order again. Then ordered the chicken confit salad which was very good. Others tried the Shrimp and Polenta which was served with the heads and tails on the shrimp buried in the polenta. Had more shrimp heads than shrimp and main dish consisted of only 4 shrimp which is small for the size shrimp offered on this dish. Very salty. Ended the meal with a nice Tiramisu dessert. Wait staff very attentive. Restaurant has a very nice patio for additional seating choices. Restaurant very clean along with a large wait staff. Waiter offered several suggestions which were all good.

Very good service. Clean and nice bathrooms which is always a good sign. Excellent wine. We had the Polpo as starter, which was just perfect. Good mixed crowed. Also suitable for families. We can truly recommend this place.

They make their own in house after dinner treats. Everything we had was prepared at the restaurant even their own mozzarella. It was wonderful. Today was my first visit. I will be going back very soon!! Can’t wait!!

My daughter and I had an enjoyable dinner at Juliet. We arrived for dinner and were greeted by the hostess and immediately seated for our 7:00 p.m. reservation. The service was excellent but the servers were in jeans. Is this a casual or nicer restaurant? The interior is nice and the plenty of room with the booths and tables. They have a nice wine selection and I must recommend the Mozzarello Fritti. The fried cheese was served with pickled peppers and was excellent. For our entrees we had the Lasagna and Duck Confit. Both dishes were very satisfying and well portioned. We ended the meal with Bombolini which are sugar coated donuts and a bowl of mint chip gelati. The mint is "herb" mint and was delicious as it gave a nice clean feeling. The one item that deterred from the experience is that workers hovered around the hostess area. You not be disappointed at Juliet.

This is an Italian restaurant with a twist... Yes you can get pizza, and lasagna,(which my daughter's boyfriend ordered) but you can also get meatballs with burrata (what we ordered as an appetizer) and Branzini stuffed with spinach and ?? (which my daughter ordered) Cioppino (YUMMY!! what I ordered) and cappelini with Shrimp (yes more traditional, but the sauce was great!). The appetizer could have had more burrata, but the meatballs were delicious (they added one extra meatball to the order so each of us could have one). Unfortunately the waiter spilled my glass of wine on me, but the manager (and waiter) came over and were so apologetic...thankfully my dress was washable but they offered to pay for dry cleaning. They gave me a complimentary glass of wine and comped the dessert (which was a spumoni sundae shared by all four of us -- also yummy). With two bottles of wine, the shared appetizer, and the four entrees, the restaurant was a little pricey. ($300. plus) We sat inside at the back of the restaurant which was nice and quiet but there is also a lovely patio outside to eat which is great in the Spring weather in Austin.

We visited Juliet in early March 2017 when we visited our daughter who lives in Austin. This was her recommendation and having eaten at some very good italian restaurants worldwide, including Italy, I was somewhat skeptical. We were delighted with their selection in seafood, meats and specialty drinks. We sat in their glass enclosed, street facing dining area which was perfect. The atmosphere of being outside with all the comfort of being indoors on a chilly evening. The outside dining area was very inviting and we would have dined there if the weather was just slightly warmer. Definitely worth going.

If you are looking for a nice patio environment at which to have a casual Italian meal, this is your place. The service and drinks are good. I would say that the brunch menu is not huge but you will find something on the menu that will appeal to you. We usually leave Juliet's quite happy with our experience.

Good Italian for decent prices. We went for dinner and enjoyed a drink and salads. The butter salad was delicious and large entree size. Husband had the grilled chicken salad. $43 for both.

We got here after 8pm on the Saturday night of President's holiday weekend and were happy to find a table. I was a little on the chilly side but an outside table was next available so we took it. Not too cold after all. The waiter was knowledgeable and efficient. There were two sizes of meals offered and he correctly steered me into the single portion smaller size; the large would have been too much. I ordered the Veal Parmesan. It was fresh and perfectly paired with spaghetti. I was so engrossed in my own food that I don't remember what the three others ordered. They were each Austin residents for a year or more and really like Juliet. I was not disappointed and will very likely be back.

We had a lovely server in Ashley, who was attentive and kind. The linguine was divine and the shrimp pasta was really good. Loved the mussels appetizer and the happy hour specials are decent.

It's tough to find good "normal" Italian food in Austin, but Juliet Ristorante delivers. It's not "froofy". From the bread and olive oil with toasted garlic to the salads and main courses, the Chicken Picatta is my favorite, it's all good. My husband is a big fan of their Veal Parmesan. They also have a nice outside bar area with happy hour specials AND parking!!

I am shocked this restaurant is still in business. We had the worst experience in every way. HORRIBLE food, HORRIBLE Service, and rude staff. I will never visit this restaurant again.

Great selection of menu items, waiting staff very knowledgeable with selections and show a good passion for the way food is prepared. Outside seating highly recommend.

My wife and I first tried this little place in February and it was a very enjoyable new spot for us. We've since been back twice with friends. Consistent. Mildly innovative but not at the expense of the Italian roots of the place. Not the greatest for parking, but manageable. As I said in the title, try a flight of Negronis and any featured pasta dish. You'll thank me. Sausage first course is also a good thing.

1st of all, it is a very inviting entrance...I personally love neon signs! We had drinks the day before, and we had a long chat with the bartender. When I browsed the menu, several items caught our attention, and we decided to return the next day, which we did for their Sunday Brunch! We had their "Italian Benny" which is polenta cakes with proscuitto, pesto hollandaise over soft poached eggs AND "Shrimp Scampi" which was excellently prepared along with mimosas. But what made the day was our server Morgan! She could not been any more attentive without interruptions, and extremely polite & friendly. Bottom line, I'll go back when in Austin and staying in that area...give it a try, you won't be sorry!

We went to Juliet’s for dinner on a parents weekend at UT. Our son said the he and his girlfriend love this place and wanted to take us. The ambiance was good and the valet parking was helpful. The food was what really shined. It was very good Italian... they even had Aperol Spritz cocktails - these were everywhere when we visited Italy last year. The Pinot noir selections were good and the homemade pastas great. The lasagna was incredible according to one of our diners and the other pastas were delicious (I had linguine and clam sauce and tried a bite of spaghetti Bolognese, which was terrific). Service was good too. Recommended, we will be back, no doubt.

Wonderful for happy hour or for dinner. Great atmosphere and delicious food. Service was also on point.

Juliet in a wonderful, inviting space with a very good wine list and wait staff. Unfortunately the food doesn't measure up to the setting. The salads we had were fine but the main courses were uninspiring, lacking flavor and very disappointing. I had spaghetti carbonara which was oily, lacked sufficient acon or cheese to add flavor. My wife had the lasagna which was similarly bland.

We had a great meal with a wonderful jazz music outside. The service was excellent and the staff were attentive but not overbearing. The food was just the right amount and all freshly prepared. I will definitely go back.

Our party wanted a quiet space, so we were seated in a back room. It was charmless, but quiet. The service was prompt and attentive. The martini wasn’t dry enough for my taste, but I ordered another which was made correctly. The starters were great, and they brought extra anchovies for the Caesar salad which was a nice touch. The main courses were terrible. We had chicken piccata, lasagna, and veal parmigiana, all of which were over salted. The tomato sauce overwhelmed dishes. There was no taste of veal. I couldn’t eat the lasagna which had absolutely no subtlety or taste of authentic Italian. Has the chef ever been to Italy? The ice cream for desert was excellent. Overall we had a meal that was hit and miss, with more serious misses than hits.

The food was fantastic! We had an array of pastas and meals and every one of them was delicious. I had the spicy rigatoni alla vodka and was creamy and delicious. We also had an assortment of wines and cocktails and there were no complaints! We went as a party of 6 for a birthday and enjoyed the experience.

Nice ambiance, but slow service during not so busy holiday evening. Quality and variety of Italian food more than made up for service experience. Easy free parking a plus considering busy location. Will definitely go to this neighborhood and city-wide favorite.

Let me set this up - we had a party of 27 and our experience was excellent. We were a servers nightmare - and Jesse from Baton Rouge was a dream!!!! I did not hear one complaint. After a VERY long walk (uber it) I started with a great bourbon drink (lion's tail) really cooled me off. Then they brought out great breads and aps ... Loved the atmosphere and we all loved out meals. I had the capellini - tasted delicious. Others had the mussels which are purported to be the best ever (chorizo gave it a little heat). The pizza was yummy!

We went for Father's Day. It was easy to make a reservation via RESY. It was more busy than I thought it would be for such an earlier dinner. Food was better than I remembered. The calamari is unique and different but good. Family size Ceasar salad large enough to feed three adults. My father raved about the tomato basil soup. He is still talking about it. My husband enjoyed the veal parmigiana. I was happy they allowed me to order a side of pasta versus a full entrée. Their Frose is really good. They put little rose pedals. My father enjoyed the Italian Sunrise. Overall a good meal. The time between the soup and salads and the entrees were very long. We skipped desert as we had a show to go see at the Long Center. I would have thought two hours would have been enough time for dinner at 5:30pm. It also has it own free parking lot which is a huge plus these days in Austin. Glad I gave it another try and we will probably be back when time is not a factor or just to get the Frose :).

We were looking for a good dinner place after seeing a show at the ZACH Theater and, boy, did this hit the spot! We also came during happy hour (which is every day, 5-7pm) so we lucked out on the price :) We started the night with some salmon crudo & the apple/gorgonzola pizza. Then two of us had one of the homemade pasta dishes (Fettuccine Funghi and Rigatoni Ala Vodka) and the third had the Mussels. I can especially recommend the Funghi, if you like mushrooms. And we rounded up the meal with 2 of their desserts - the Tiramisu and the Spumoni Sunday, which has 3 types of gelato. All were fantastically delicious! Our service was excellent and the interior of the restaurant is really pretty with lots of hanging plants as you walk in. As it got busy, it was a bit harder to find our waitress so they seem to have some issues with staffing - but this was pretty minor. They also have an outdoor area with fans but were not up to dealing with the Austin summer heat. The place is right off Barton Springs Rd but it does have its own parking. Unfortunately, during busy times (weekend evenings, I believe), the lot turns into valet only. You can try to find street parking in the neighborhood but it might be tough. Definitely recommend this if you're looking for a good dinner place with homemade pasta dishes!

We had our best ever Italian food experience in Austin when we dined at Juliet Ristorante! Our party had the arancini and freshly-made mozzarella as antipasti, butter lettuce salad, mushroom pizza, red snapper, and gluten-free spaghetti carbonara. We had the flowerless chocolate cake for dessert, along with some of the most delicious regular coffee ever. The dishes were wonderfully prepared with great care. Every dish was delicate and tasty. The service was friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. And, the facilities are beautiful. This was one of our most satisfying and enjoyable dining experiences ever in Austin!

I am from New Jersey and very passionate about my Italian food! I was craving it so bad the one day that we decided to get it for lunch. I ordered the Pasta primavera and the Bruschetta. My boyfriend ordered the octopus and potatoes. He loved both things. I enjoyed my pasta as well! They give you a ton of food so it was tough it finish it! You could tell that the pasta was homemade too. I would come back and try a frose! That looked so good! I would return for the food as well.

Great venue for brunch...lots of outdoor seating and shade with nice garden and vegetation sprawling...my risotto was excellent, as was my wife's salad. It's a pretty place to eat--I'd been here at night before and had a great time..so it was nice to experience a lazy Sunday here.

The presentation and flavor of the meals at Juliet Italian Kitchen’s was attractive to the eyes and delicious to the taste. Five people ordering different entrees were equally satisfied. They have a wide variety of beverages including cocktails and a great wine selection. The prices are reasonable, even cheap for the service and quality of food you will receive when you go. We will go again!

The best Shrimp Scampi in white cream sauce I’ve ever had. Beef Carpaccio was divine! The food was delivered very quickly.

Totally enjoyed pre theater dinner here. Wife had veal Marsala and I had lasagna. Both were delicious. Excellent cheese cake for dessert. Staff and waiter very friendly. Nice ambiance. Definitely will return

We expected a bit more based on what others had told us. Beautiful bar. Ambience is excellent and service was very good. Soup had scallop which was very fishy, but trout dish was very fresh. Good dessert but are almost certain we got caffeinated coffee after making a big deal we wanted decaf - waiter did not seem that concerned. Austin has many other better choices.

Another visit to Juliet...lunch after a train ride...too hot for the patio so inside...the remodel is nice, the "Face Plates" in the dining room are fun!!! service was good and attentive, restaurant has a nice guest "burble" of conversation, food was really good, convenient parking and great street access

Nice place for a late afternoon snack or dinner. Excellent service in a good location. Menu and food are very good with fair prices.

I rate most Italian by there Carbanara, while this is not the best I have had, it was good. I am not a fan of fat spaghetti. The Risotto Balls are amazing as well as the garbanzo beans.

Why, oh why must every restaurant destroy the straightforward nature of Italian cuisine. In our ongoing hope to find a GOOD (we aren't even expecting GREAT) pasta place in Austin, Juliet was on our list. The grounds of the restaurant are stellar . . . beautiful setting, lighting, and the right amount of "hip," but the food was not at all a "romance." As a matter of fact, I think Juliet would have run for it!! The cheeses were great and the chewy bread delicious, but not really "Italian." The ceci were tasty, but not enough to make a meal of . . . and the arancini tasted strangely like Trader Joe's version. The carbonara is not, in fact, carbonara, but a creamy al fredo. The pizza was "okay," and the agnolotti was good, but still not anything which appears in Italy. I would prefer to see fewer options done to perfection than a menu of mediocre food.

Warm Austin evening .. had Chianti, tomato basil Soup and chicken picatta . Great service and delicious food. Great variety on menu. Hard to get into here-glad we finally got in. Grazie

We highly recommend this restaurant for large groups. We had a family reunion dinner here for twelve adults. The front street-side long room was perfect for us. There were only two other tables of customers in the room and they had left by the time we got rowdy. Service was polite, efficient and friendly. The food itself was good, but nothing to write home about.

What a pleasant experience! The atmosphere was great - so nice to be able to enjoy a conversation without all the noise so often found in restaurants today. The wait staff was pleasant and very knowledgeable about the menu as well as the wine list. Four different entres and each of us equally enjoyed our meal.

We finally made it to Juliet, this is a cozy little spot on Barton Springs Road. We didn't sit outside but the outside bar looked like a great spot for an afternoon cocktail and some appetizers. We had reservations and were seated promptly. The service was great and our server was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. I started with the watermelon mule, it was very good but upon recommendation to try their old fashion I couldn't resist. One of the best old fashion's I've had in Austin, highly recommended if you like them. As far as food, we tried their appetizer special, Morel Mushroom Bruschetta, it was a bit small and nothing to write home about. I ordered the Melon e Prosciutto salad, each of the items individually tasted good but as a whole I didn't feel like it was a good combination and had very little prosciutto on the dish. My wife had the Texas Peaches salad, it was amazing, probably the best peaches I've ever had! My main course was the Seared Rare Tuna, the tuna was cooked as requested, very rare and it was delicious. The combination of olive, capers, tomato and pancetta in the lemon sauce was just perfect. The dish was very light and fresh. My wife for her entree ordered the meatball appetizer and they were also fantastic. Overall great experience here, our server Sylver was fantastic and while I didn't like a couple things I ordered there were many other things on the menu I felt I would try next time until I found the perfect combination.

Last night we had a dinner for 32 gourmet diners and wine lovers. The customized menu was beyond excellent, and the wine pairings were commensurate. The restaurant manager mobilized the entire waitstaff to give us the best service we could have wished for. The chef came and talked to us about each course, and the sommelier described each wine and how it paired with the course.

My wife and I were surprised with the quality of all our food and drinks. If our dinner was a symphony, every note was perfect. Rob, our waiter was the conductor. He took the time to understand our particular tastes and preferences and made appropriate suggestions. He explained the nuances of each course with knowledge and enthusiasm. His drink suggestions opened a new palette of flavors for us. Rob suggested a Negroni made with Waterloo Antique gin. Request a taste of this gin, neat. It is fabulous! I enjoyed the beef tenderloin, medium rare, accompanied with grilled mustard greens, cauliflower in a cremefraiche sauce. The beef was the best I ever tasted. My wife enjoyed the Angel hair pasta with mushrooms and a Ceasar salad. The Ceasar salad was outstanding. The food has a distinct grilled, oak smoke overtone that we happen to really enjoy. Enjoy this restaurant!

What can I say? Everything here was wonderful - the service, food, ambiance, landscaping, bathrooms - everything. The food is Italian-American, but contemporary, deconstructed versions. Talk to your waiter about any of it. The staff are extremely knowledgeable, right down to the ingredients in a dish or the character of a wine.

we had a rehearsal lunch at that place in one of the private room . we had choose 3 main courses to share family style on the table. one of the meal was pasta with vodka sauce and bacon. since i am vegetarian , they were nice enough to make 2 smaller plates , one without bacon ! all pasta were delicious, the tomato sauce is so delicious, and not acid at all .

We stopped here for dinner prior to going to Zach's Theatre. Oh course we got to the restaurant a little late but they had kept our 6PM reservation so we could walk right in and be seated - thank you so much!! We told our waiter we were going to a 7:30PM show and he immediately offered a "showtime" menu with a nice selection of dishes that took less time to prepare. There were four of us and we each selected something different so this menu was not too limited. Salads came out quickly - the Caesar Salad was very good - and shortly after our salads were finished our entrées arrived. Everyone seemed very happy with the meal. My veal marsala was very nice but amazingly I actually added a little salt. Typically I never know why salt shakers are on the table but in this case just a bit was nice. Get some nice fresh grated parmesan cheese as well. My wife ordered spaghetti and meat balls (not on the show menu) which she was extremely happy with. I had a sampling and I agree next visit I am having that as well very good. Our guests also were pleased with the meal. Since we were slightly pressed for time we did not have the opportunity to consider dessert. They have valet parking which was good. We arrived at 6:15PM and walked into Zach's at 7:25PM so everything worked out perfectly even though we were initially slightly late. In summary - very good food - very good service - great location - We will be back!!

We ate here one night while visiting Austin. I made the reservation because it was close to The Carpenter Hotel where we were staying and had good reviews on Trip Advisor. We were disappointed in our meal which got off to a bad start when the server mixed up the drink orders for two of our party and then tried to get them to drink the drinks anyhow as they were a "house specialty." Well, they weren't what was requested and we had to ask her to please get the right drinks to our table. We were seated in a booth which had problems with padding (you could feel spots where there didn't appear to be any) and the table was crazy close to the seats. We started with a small pizza which included pears, goat cheese, and also onion, if I recall correctly, which was good. We then followed with dinner salads and pasta entrees, which were fine. Our server disappeared for long periods of time and when we were ready to go we had to ask another server to please find her as she hadn't been by our table for about 20 minutes. I would not recommend this place as I'm sure there are better options nearby.

The food was good. We order Rigatoni Alla Vodka, pizza and wine. The service was a little slow, but friendly. The restaurant is big. You can make a party there and it has parking.
Not bad, but not amazing.
Service was great, the waitstaff was very friendly. Food, however, was disappointingly average. I ordered the Slow Braised Lamb Ragu on recommendation from waitress and was expecting something really decadent. But the sauce was not nearly as meaty as I was expecting, and they didn't add adequate amounts of salt to it either. The wines were ok, we had a few dollars off because we were there for happy hour and even then the drinks still felt expensive. I will say however that the bread and garlic + olive oil dip they bring out at the start is superb.
