I love this place

By Francesca R |

Up front, I'll admit I'm not massively familiar with Korean food so I can't speak for how authentic the food here is. I've heard conflicting things. But personally, I'm more concerned with whether it's tasty, which it absolutely is. The bibimbap is great (I love the gosari, and the sweet and spicy sauce that they put on the rice), the kimbap are deceptively filling, and the bulgogi comes with rice and glass noodles, and is lovely. The prices aren't the cheapest, and some other reviewers have complained that the portion sizes are a little small. I actually find the opposite - I'm European so admittedly I find American portions pretty big, but I usually split the bibimbap into two meals. I did manage to eat the bulgogi bowl in one sitting, but it was a struggle towards the end. There's free water with lemon and mint on the tables, which is a nice touch. Staff are very friendly and usually efficient. It gets very busy here during lunch and though there are shared tables, spaces fill up quickly, so takeaway is sometimes best. Obviously it takes a little longer during the lunch rush, but it's not usually too bad. The one time the kitchen lost my order and I was kept waiting, I was given a very genuine apology and a free drink, which was nice of them - I wasn't too upset as mistakes do happen, but they handled it well.

Authentic Korean food, the real deal!

I lived in Korea for 5 years and since moving to the USA I’ve constantly been seeking out Korean restaurants, since I LOVE Korean food — and this place is the best place I’ve been to in Texas yet! We took a mini trip to Austin this weekend, and had lunch at this little restaurant. It’s small and cozy, and the food is fantastic. We loved it! We had the gimbop (rolls), soondobu jjigae (tofu stew), kimchi jjigae, and bulgobi bowl. You got a lot of food, so it’s a good value, go hungry!

From the Northeast and this tasted like Korean food from NJ

My family and I are very bias when it comes to Korean food as my mother in law is Korean and my husband is half Korean/African American...My girls and I were in town for a soccer event and came upon this restaurant..well it did not disappoint..the food was fantastic...We would recommend almost everything on the menu as we tried several of the items. Good find and atmosphere is cute....

Hidden Gem

Fantastic Korean no frills casual restaurant on the UT Austin Drag. Try the Kim bop rolls or the kaitsu bowl or bulgogi bowl. Well worth the visit

Definitely a place to go to, close to LBJ library and Texas University. Super reasonable prices, real Korean food. Nice sitting area and super nice staff. Love it!

What a Great Place

By Connor B |

This is amazing food. The bowl is packed to the brim, and the food inside is savory and delicious. Normally, soy sauce is too salty, but at K-Bop, its flavorful without crossing that boundary. I will admit that I don't normally eat this kind of food, so it's not my specialty. But I thought it was delicious. Would definitely come again.

Delicious Bibimbop and Korean sushi

We have been to K-bop and love it! It is fairly new but always has customers eating there or waiting for to-go orders. The quality is excellent and the prices are very reasonable.

Visited when in Austin last year and will visit again. Large portion of bulgogi bowl had enough for 2+ meals amd it always tasted good. Really friendly staff. Visiting again next month and have several things I want to try

Quick, friendly service, limited menu

Although it's a little more $ than I would expect for a cheap eats, it IS very tasty, healthy, quick, and they do give you a lot of food. The bibimbop is excellent and bit spicy. The beef roll was larger than expected and very good. Pineapple smoothie topped it off, though we did not choose to add tapioca. Service is fast and I think they do a good to-go business. Definitely will eat here again when we visit Austin.

Suprisingly good Korean food!

I lived in Korea for three years and have visited there countless times... Whenever I travel to different cities, I try a Korean restaurant there. This small place was staffed by some very young people... We got there exactly at 11 AM just as the place opened and so it was still empty. We ordered a Chicken Bulgogi Bowl, a Beef Bulgogi Bowl and a House Kimbop. All of this came to a total of $27.06. We got pretty generous portions (I’m not sure if it is b/c we were new customers or because we spoke Korean or if everyone gets generous portions) and the food was surprisingly good. We’ll be coming back here again!

Great Taro Root Milk Tea

By DanaSmith8 |

Came here on an average Austin day for the milk tea. After looking at their options decided upon the Taro Root Milk Tea with Tapioca. Once ordered, the service was quick and the drink did not disappoint. The flavor was great, the sweetness was just right, and the tapioca provided a nice contrast to the cold drink. I will definitely be back to try the other flavors as well as their menu. The place was clean, the staff was friendly, there are 24 seats and 12 bar stools inside the place, but it would get really tight should the seats be filled as they are close together, this however, would not deter me from coming back.
