We went for the Jerusalem bagels and were not disappointed. However, the service wasn't ideal and while two of us were served the third person waited another 1/2 hour to be served the same thing the rest of us ordered.

Lovely place to eat in Center City. The food was very good. My husband and I shared an Arabian Salad and a potato Boreka for lunch. I particularly liked the croutons in the salad, tiny bagel chips I think. We also shared a Latte and a small chocolate Babka for dessert. There was lots of seating in the rooms, even when crowded at lunch. K’far closes two hours during the day: The hours are: Wednesday 8AM–2PM, 5-10 PM Thursday 8AM–2PM, 5–10PM Friday 8AM–2PM, 5-11PM Saturday 8AM–2PM, 5–11PM Sunday 8AM–2PM, 5–10PM Monday 8AM–2PM, 5–10PM Tuesday 8AM–2PM, 5–10PM I recommend this lovely restaurant, especially if you enjoy Middle Eastern food.

So glad we stumbled upon this gem! I wouldn’t have usually looked for an Israeli restaurant but I’m so glad we tried it! Food was amazing. The waiter kindly described the food items in detail. Indoor space was cute and clean. The outdoor patio was perfect for a warm fall day. Doggos are allowed in the patio too!

We had lunch here based in the recommendation of a friend from Philadelphia, who said it’s the best cafe in town. He was right! The menu is unique, with pastries, bagels and toasts done with interesting flavor combos. The Brown Sugar Ricotta Toast and the Egg and Cheese Bagel were delicious. And don’t leave without trying the pecan sticky bun. The service was fast and friendly, and the food was delicious.

I struggled with this review a bit. On one hand, it's such a lovely lovely place! Decor is incredible; cozy, chic, comfy. The vibe was is relaxing and inviting, even on a random Monday morning. Even the music is great! The service is also great, very friendly servers and the girl taking orders at the register is most helpful. On the other hand, the food is good but not amazing. Did not try much of it, so maybe that's where I fell short. My Yeminite latte was delicious - would highly recommend. The Jerusalem bagel on the other hand - the combination of salty lox and pickles made it a bit overwhelming for me. The bagel was toasted to perfection and buttery, but the saltiness was a bit too much. I was honest in telling Mike Solomonov what I thought after he casually came in to the cafe. To my surprise, he was very receptive to this criticism - sign of a very good chef indeed! Would love to visit again and try more things.

So many amazing choices - spinach, feta, or potato borekas (plus one with jam) and interesting sandwiches (loved the grilled cheese with tomato and zaatar). Also excellent salads, and of course we tried four of the desserts - loved the little babka. Didn't enjoy having to fight for a table, or the part when the food started to come out before we even sat down, or that you have to order everything at the same time unless you want to go back into the line. But it was a fun one-time experience.

We returned here because we so enjoyed it in April (another recommendation from Phil Rosenthal from Somebody Feed Phil). We knew we wanted the Jerusalem Bagel egg and cheese again and wanted to try some of the other pastries as well. Unfortunately, this time the egg and cheese had a Serrano paste on it (it did not last time) and we can not eat spicy/peppery food. The menu does not mention this and when we advised the server she said it could not be made without the serrano. So we asked for another with only scallion cream cheese - which never came. Nor did the sharing plates she promised us. In fact, she "had to step away for a moment" and a sub server took over, but too late. On the other hand - the pistachio Sticky bun was heavenly - soft, light and just the right amount of stickiness to flavor. The rugelach, as always, was the best we ever had. Their coffee is very tasty as well. Not sure if we will give them another try - it's unfortunate that the service gets in the way of the delicious food.

Amazing restaurant. The food is totally different and we thought it would be regular Middle East food. Hats off to the restaurent. All the dishes we had were great. Recommend to one and all

The food is delicious but the service is terrible. Maybe they are suffering from a shortage of personnel like other restaurants during this pandemic. The dishes were brought to our table one at a time, over a long period of time, to make sure that the first plate got cold before the last arrived. The beverages were also divided, brought out between plates, though the last was brought out after all the dishes. When a party of four orders together, they expect that their dishes will be prepared around the same time. In all fairness, the smart phone ordering system caused each of our 2 couples to order a few minutes apart, separating our orders. The servers were not unpleasant. I noticed a lone pickup customer patiently waiting a long time to get her iced coffee and a very long added time to get the food she had ordered to go with it. We plan to stay away until the pandemic is over and K'far can get its act together better.

The wait staff was knowledgeable about the food and the drink. The atmosphere was fun but not overwhelming. Food was delicious and unique. I just couldn't have asked for a more delightful evening.

We came here on a really rainy day for brunch. It was packed. But after a wait we got seated and had a great waiter, Roger, take care of us. I had a Yemenite Latte and a grilled cheese bagel. My husband had a Café Mocha and bagel/lox. Both were fantastic. It was my husband's birthday (and Purim!). We had a delighted time.

My first meal in Philly after a delayed 30+ hours flight from Australia and what a lovely welcome to the Rittenhouse Square area. Service was prompt and efficient plus friendly, the coffee was excellent and food really tasty and well priced. Good on them for putting on a great effort with well priced and portioned food.

Delicious items like potato borekas and an assortment of salads - the salmon salad was great. You might have to wait for a table, especially if it’s a party over 4. Don’t forget to taste the rugelah!!

Come here for breakfast. Jerusalem Bagel sandwiches are outstanding. The restaurant itself is also very nice to be in. Also really great to be able to look into the kitchen.

We loved K'Far so much, we came back a second time. Their breakfasts are phenomenal, both the baked goods and the Jerusalem Bagel sandwiches. The first time we went, we ordered takeout and ate at a local park. The second time, we waited in line for a table (it's a popular spot, but the line moves quickly). The egg and cheese, as well as the grilled cheese bagel, are both great choices. And the potato borekasim was fantastic! Definitely a don't-miss spot for breakfast.

Lovely evening but ...Two standout dishes were the moussaka app and the lamb shank entree both are spectacular! Our service though was below par Two of us shared 3 apps, one entree and dessert. All three apps arrived at the same time making it feel rushed and forcing some to get cold before we could really enjoy them. The soup was filled with burnt veg which was unpleasant Despite this, would definitely give it another try

Hi, if you are looking for trendy, overpriced average food you should try K'far. We tried it out for dinner and was left disappointed by the overly salted Lamb shanks my wife and I both ordered. The lamb shanks tasted like they were marinated in the Dead Sea. If it was just one order I would have understood it, but we asked one of the people seated at the table next to us, who also had the same order, and it seemed consistent. The rice that came with it was an after thought. Overall it looked like a dinosaur bone on a small bed of wet rice with no flavor as the saltiness of the lamb shank overpowered. It looked cool, but didn't taste that great. The appetizers were good, and I recommend if anything try this place out for drinks and appetizers as they don't seem overpriced or pretentious. Just straight up food that tasted good to us. We didn't bother with desserts as they looked average.

Today I tried the food at K'far, my neighborhood. The menu looked intruiging. I went at 10 am thinking it was a slow time. Silly me. I waited in line for 20 min to place my order. Menus were available along the line. Everyone was polite and quiet, thinking about the food. I could see others ordered a beverage and a dessert, while waiting for a hot entree. So I did the same. Table numbers are given so waiters can bring you the order ASAP. And truly, after the initial line wait of 20 min, the order was ready in 7 min. It was hot and delicious. The desserts were very temptingly displayed in a case near the cashier. my Jerusalem bagel, lox, cucumber and cheese all melted together like a Croque Monsieur sandwich, only with lox. It was so wonderful. The walnut cake was light yet dense. I could eat it every day. But while I was waiting, I was watching the staff. Kenyatta was one staff member who stood out for her smiles, helpfulness, graciousness. Dan, the manager, was nice enough to hear my comments that his staff never lingered to gossip. They all looked around for ways to improve service. This reminded me of Vernick's, whose staff is trained the same way. Yes, I am comparing K'Far to Vernicks, only with light food. The food prep is serious, but presentation is not. Service is serious, but unpretentious. The crowd was all millenials, casually dressed but very well mannered. There was a sprinkling of older couples curious as I was to see what is changing our 'hood. I love it and plan to have breakfast here every Friday. I want to say hello to Dan and Kenyatta, and to the new Rittenhouse:)

We stopped by for the new dinner. Seated at the bar. The food was insane. I had the freekeh and he had the salmon. Labneh very good. The restaurant itself is very chic. I didn't love eating at the bar. The staff was kinda... judgey? I'd still go back. The food is very, very good.

Have visited numerous times since it’s opening, and literally everything I’ve tried has been ridiculously delicious.

An international experience for pastries and light meals. On a Monday mid-morning K‘Far was busy, with some pastries already sold out and awaiting freshly baked replacements. But there are some many delicious items on the menu, no complains needed. Every item has its familiarity and uniqueness. A grilled cheese that was other worldly! Avocado toast that tasted like a culinary invention of genius, due to spices and their combination with a unique version of ricotta.

Really spectacular dinner - from apps to entrees and dessert - we had the $45 tasting menu and WELL worth the range if with 3+ people to try different things. EVERYTHING was really well executed and do NOT overlook the service - top class! Even the soundtrack was excellent!

We stopped,by mid morning for some coffees and pastries, and waited in line about 15 minutes. The selection of pastries was good, with everything house-baked; the chocolate babka and the sticky pistachio bun were great choices, especially the former. The drip coffee was delivered to our table promptly, but it took ten minutes for our mocha and cappuccino to arrive, by which time we were finished with our pastries. The cafe has a well deserved reputation for the quality of its baked goods and coffees. Service could be improved a bit.

being warned of the queues we got there before 9am on a Sunday morning, and got lucky we were served quick and by the celebrity chef himself, loved the decor and the feel of the place, would have loved to try the lunch menu which had loads of vegetarian but we were leaving Phili that day itself. definitely recommend a visit if u are in town.

This place is worth the effort to find. Amazing baked goods and breakfast foods. Friendly service and great coffee. Absolutely must go if you are in the area!

Very nice cafe and restaurant, recommend the pastries I tried all of them snd it was delicious, avocado toast was delicious but spicy

The pistachio sticky bun was maybe the most delicious thing I’ve ever eaten. Perfectly gooey, soft and caramelized, with crunchy pistachios for textural contrast, served slightly warm. Bliss.

So very sad that this place opened before it was fully baked. No pastries on the racks, poorly trained help and long lines for coffee. Will go back in a month or two when they have either had a chance to supply what was promised or closed the doors.

So basically, K'far has just opened. Whoever did their decor is brilliant. It's inviting and attractive and just perfect. When we got there at 11am most of the bakery products were gone. That was a bit disappointing. We ordered an avocado open face that was delicious and an egg and havarti on Jerusalem bagel. BOTH were very tasty. The staff was extremely nice and it's obvious that they're trying to sort out some of the issues they have as quickly as possible. It's a lovely choice for a bakery/sandwich place. I'll be back and I'm sure by then it will get another star!

As a Hanukah outing, we ate at K’far, the new Israeli café opened by Michael Solomonov of Zahav fame. We arrived at 12:30 on Monday and the line was already 9-person deep (no reservations before dinner). Shortly after (about 10 minutes), three spots opened up at the bar, and I snapped them up. Our seats were by the open kitchen so I had a great view and our server was a handsome young male (so says Hubby). Everything we ordered was delicious from the potato bourekas (best of ones we find outside of Israel), the kubaneh toasts (mine had avocado and persimmon), salads, and hot chocolate (sweeter than the American version). Only the chocolate rugaleh was not perfect, but that may be that I’m not a chocoholic. Another highlight was the appearance of Michael, who professes to remember me from the first time we met. The only demerit for me was the high volume of noise, compounded by the music piped in. They say that early in the week is usually quieter, but it was a holiday week.
Yum
Yum, yum, yum. Loved the grilled cheese bagel, crisp, hot, filling. Do not miss the pistachio sticky buns.
