I’ve been looking for authentic Persian food for a while and this one happens to have the saffron rice/polo that I have been searching everywhere for. So not only did I get some fantastic rice, I got some otherworldly hummus! Highly recommend!!!

Forget Reza or Noon o kabob By far much better Large portions Appropriate price Owner greets guests Don't expect concierge type you buy your food and sit down and eat Meat lovers order Soltani or chicken on bone

My wife and I recently went here with our friends for dinner. The staff went above and beyond for us. I’m a big fan of customer service and they all went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. Would give 10 stars for the friendliness of the employees if I could. Will definitely be returning! Oh yeah, the food was also phenomenal. I ordered the beef & chicken platter and my wife ordered the steak platter. Both were delicious. Make sure to tip them cash if you can since you have to pay up front first. Great place!

This place taste like reza food 15 years ago. The owner is Reza brother ,they branched off each other. It's very good place to try persian food. One thing I hope they improve is there chicken kubiedeh.

While the food is wonderful, It is the amount of food and the reasonable price. They have the standard fare, Falafel, Hummos, Baba Ggannouj etc. However, the Kashkeh Bodemjan is amazing, this is an appetizer made of mashed, roasted eggplant, caramelized onions, whey, flavored with garlic and fresh mint.It is a dip, The pita was standard. There plates are huge and very good. I have had the beef, lamb and chicken Koubideh (Ground meat on a skewer). the meal comes with Lavash (Very flat bread) and Basmati rice (I love the dill rice). They also have standard Chengeh (Cubed) dishes, Filet, lamb, chicken or Veggie on skewers. The Veggie stew is also very good. Dishes run about $15. well worth it given the amount of food you get.Be sure to try the Bamieh for desert. this is fried dough in a light honey sauce. Yes, you can also get Baklava.

There is no order, we waited 1 hour to be served and some people get food right away. Not a persian restaurant , chicken was good but rest of food Not good . Price was ok paid $400 for 9 people .

I had been going to other two long time Persian restaurants for years and their qualities had been declining the past couple of years. So I was hesitant to try Kabobi restaurant but after we ordered and got the food we found that the quality by far exceeded the other places and the left overs were great after a couple of days. We will certainly go back and enjoy the food again!

We had a musical comedy show in Chicago , being Persian we went there after the show for dinner. I tell you what a friendly nice kind and hospitable staff . Mr Hassan was so nice made us feel like home . The crew of face time thank him for his hospitality . Food was excellent and homey and very very reasonable price for such a friendly place.I promise you I will be there every time I come to Chicago

This is a good Persian restaurant that serves traditional Persian plates. The place is not exactly a nice one, but the food is good, and fresh. The prices are reasonable and I recommend during lunch time.

We went to Kabobi first for a late night meal, and shared the vegetarian platter. It was so good, we went back the next night for dinner! The second night we had lamb and fillet mignon. The service was friendly, it's huge value for money- expect to go away very full!

Not more and not less. The portion is extreme. The price is low. The food just below average. The owner (or manager) is energetic. But what will bring me to it again in the summer is that it is open to the street. The other restaurants in the area are not open and some barely have windows.

Tonight I went to Kabobi and I ordered chicken thigh kabobs, beef kabobs and dill rice. It was all delicious and was enough to feed 2-3 people. I'm in Chicago for a wedding and I ate solo while my husband was out with the groomsmen. The employees were very nice and helpful. Even though it was very busy, I didn't have to wait long for a table or for the food. It was an all around great visit!

Food is typical Persian fare - koobideh, barg, rice, sabzi, bademjan, etc. The portion size is huge- we ordered 4 koobideh plates when we should have ordered 2. The salad this time was a little wilted and the kabab was not as juicy as when I came to Chicago last year. They have expanded their sitting area and it's very open not cramped up anymore.

For the best kabobs in Chicagoland, look no further. Every dish here is handmade and boasts phenomenal flavor. We'd definitely return!

My husband and I were looking for a different type of place for dinner and noticed Kabobi in one of our ad circulars. Parking was a challenge in the neighborhood but the food was definitely worth it!!. We both ordered Lamb Kabobs and were amazed at the generous portions! The Lamb was cooked and seasoned to perfection and the rice accompaniment was great! The are definitely a place to keep in mind for lunch or dinner

The food is excellent and the babaganoush has a distinctly delightful smoky flavor. Entrees are huge with a pita bread base and lots of rice so be careful how much you order! The only improvement would be if they had table service rather than having to walk up to the counter to order everything.

The food here is the best persian food you will find in Chicago, the kabobs are the way to go with your choice of plain (but very good)white rice or dil rice or they can do half of each (I like both rice) the food is served on big metal plater lined with a thin layer of bread and a side of salad comes with every order.beef chunks & chicken breast kabobs are perfectly marinaded.the staff is very helpful & friendly, service is prompt & always gets the order right, ambience is ok noise level is loud with street parking. Come for the food & come hungry if you want scenery & ambience and don't care what your eating this place is not for you go downtown :)

food was very testy with very good portion , tomatoes soup and kofta are the best for me , didn't like the idea of paying up in the front before sitting , no free parking spor

This is authentic Iranian food and the many regulars that hang out there for coffee or tea will validate that. The meals are served on large metal trays and you will not leave hungry. The prices are excellent for the amount of food you get. The desserts are exceptional. The staff was very friendly. We arrived at 2pm and had no trouble with tables but the manager told us a line can create a 30 minute wait during peak lunch or dinner meal times. Not kid friendly. Worst part of this restaurant -- the main entry/exit door slams when shut, making a loud banging noise that causes everyone seated next to the entrance to jump. Some day, one of those windows will crack from the door slamming and I recommend you don't sit next to the windows for that reason. Very loud restaurant. No sound dampeners, so all sounds resonate throughout.

Rating on a scale of 5 stars: * Flavor, Quality - 2: Borderline 3 stars, not there yet. But sure one of the better biryani's I've had in a while, in the midwest. Also had the mutton sheek & lamb shank (just ok), And these 2 come with a lot of dill & lima bean Rice as a side, was too much food. If I go again I would ask for Biryani rice instead with an upcharge or without the sides. We did a take-away, and drove 2.5 hrs home near Milwaukee. I always feel food is best enjoyed right after its made and served. So may have been a 3 after all if I dined there. * Ambiance - 2: * Cleanliness - 2: * Waiter - 4: Guys at the billing counter helped decide since it was my first time * Environment Sustainability - 2: Reusable Plates & Silverware. The food is great, has the best grill chicken and steak around, not expensive!! The portions are big, you would not be disappointed.

This place was fabulous! Everyone from The time you enter to the time you leave was so friendly, the food was delicious! We will be coming back!

Tasty food, great atmosphere, and the best one: The sauce !!!! You must try it! Priced very well. Rice is delicious. No alcohol though. But, you can BYO

In Chicago Kabobi-Persian Grill serves the tastiest beef, chicken even salmon kabobs in the city. Their rice is light and finely seasoned, too. The kashkeh bodenjan (eggplant) was a bit bland. The cost is reasonable for the quality. Overall a superior foodie find.

I've been to Kabobi twice now. The food is always fresh, hot, flavorful with just the right amount of sodium and the owner is very friendly and interactive, when engaged. After talking to Joseph, the owner, I've determined that he operates with everything about pride in making the customer happy. The perfect restauranteur! I got the "Daily Combination" lunch special which is the best value in town. It's a generous-size Persian meal, including boneless chicken thigh kebab and seasoned ground beef kebab, home-made in-house hummus, Persian salad and my choice of rice. Long live Kabobi!

This restaurant was a long drive from the Sheraton Grand hotel and I kept second guessing myself on choosing this restaurant. I was proven absolutely wrong. The street has a number of Persian restaurants, but we chose this because of its no frills, home cooked atmosphere. As we walked in we saw locals which was a seal of trust. The hostess was very helpful and our waitress was wonderful. From Persian tea to dill rice over lavash with a healthy spoon of butter....nothing could have tasted any butter. The dark meat chicken kebabs were juicy and more flavorful than the filet mignon beef kebabs. Don't miss the yogurt drink. Since my eyes are bigger than my stomach we also ordered the babaganoush which had the perfect burnt eggplant taste.

Please try special breakfast on weekends and different types of Kabobs. The taste couldn’t be better.

The food here is next level. Genuine Persian cuisine with no pretensions. It’s not fine dining, it’s just simple authentic food served on a plate. We went for Kabab Koobideh, Hummus, Falafel and Dill rice. Enjoyed it thoroughly. Would love to go back again and try some of their Pulav and other mixed grill Kababs.

First experience at a Iranian restaurant and it was a blast. The brunch was organized by Iranian and they really approved it. I must assume this is the best compliment and the evidence that the food was really authentic. From my perspective and limited knowledge of the Iranian cuisine, I can tell that the portions were insanely huge. It was the amount of food I would eat in two days. Lamb neck was just delicious. The amount of rice was crazy. I didn't like the rice though, too much butter. I didn't like the tea and baklava were a bit dry, but anyway delicious. Overall, the experience was good.

This food was so goooood!!! And the portions were huge. Beef koubidah (kufta) on lavash is what I had, the flavor was amazing. I was so full but couldn’t stop eating it lol. And my fav Baba ghanouj....fantastic, probably one of the best Ive had in the states.

Went there for weekend lunch. They have variety of kabobs. I liked there chicken kabab and rice. Service was excellent.

We had heard about Kabobi and seen great reviews on the PBS program "Check Please," so Kabobi was on our list of places to try. Wow! The quality, quantity, and flavors were all simply wonderful. It was a pleasant, casual atmosphere, and the various smells from the different dishes filled the air. I had a beef and chicken kabob with cranberry, onion, and saffron rice, and my wife had another chicken dish with saffron and dill seasoned rice. Very different, but I honestly can't tell which was more delicious. Each of us was only able to eat half our meal so we will be enjoying the same for dinner tonight. Street parking was a bit tricky, but free on Sundays! They did offer valet parking as well.

By far one of the best Persian food and kabob places in Chicago My favorites shish kabob and chicken on the bone Informal you pay for ur food and gave a seat The proportions are large and the quality food high and prices very affordable Owner always there and greets the guests

Our practice, when traveling, is to check out TripAdvisor for top eateries close to where we’re staying. Once again we were not disappointed with today’s choice. Kabobi’s reviews on TA were spot on. We had two different lunch specials and their house brewed unsweetened tea. The Chicken Biryani did not disappoint. The flavors of the chunks of chicken cooked with distinctive aromatic spices explode in my mouth and were tamed by the delicious humus and Persian salad accoutrements. My wife chose the boneless chicken breast kabob and basmati/dill rice. The portions were generous. We enjoyed the delicious unique flavor of hot pita bread. This is one place that will require a repeat performance and has officially been marked on our map as a “favorite”.

They serve a lunch special of kabob combo of boneless chicken breast or thigh, seasoned ground beef kebob, Persian salad, hummus and choice of dill or white rice. It's delicious and very filling. Their serving is big. The best thing is it's so cheap!!!

I go to Kabobi to get my fix of persian - middle eastern food everytime I'm nearby in Albany Park. It's lunch menu is super affordable and the chicken kabob is one of the juiciest you can find in Chicago. It's rice tastes wonderful too. You can't beat that lunch combo meal in terms of price, quantity of food & taste. I wish they'd give a falafel with it though and less hummus. The little salad that comes with it made of cucumber & tomatoe tastes fresh too. Overall, I'd say it's one of the best middle eastern joint here in Chicago. The space is spacious and clean too. Service is a little slow usually as they do work hard on making all the dishes taste great & fresh from the grill.

The food is fresh and plentiful however, It is a sit down restaurant yet you have to go up and order dinners and pay at the register, they bring it to your table. It can get chaotic on the weekends..very busy

The food is actually pretty good, but there is a lack of communication if you order for delivery because people seem to enjoy going in for food. My experience was not what I expected since I did research online. The first order I paid for something that they did not deliver, I called and was given a credit for the item on whenever I made my next order. Standard. Next order was delivery as well and this time I got something I did not order at all but when I call this time I was accused of "you don't know how to order" and in more words basically accused me of trying to get free food from the manager. All i wanted was the correct order that I paid for. A side note my boyfriend actually made the second order it just was to my address. This was my experience but again that is why I noted my boyfriend made the second order. Not recommended.

Kabobi Persian & Mediterranean Grill is a unique fun and delicious place to eat. They have free valet parking but bring cash to tip the very nice valet guy if you choose that option. There is paid street parking as well but beware as some spaces are tow zones. The restaurant is spacious and offers seating for small and large gatherings. You are greeted personally and warmly by the owner upon entering. The menu is limitless and offers something for everyone in every category. Most entrees are served on a huge serving platter with basmati and saffron hinted rice along side the traditional butter. I ordered the bademjan that was a delicious treat; eggplant, beef, yellow pulses and dried lemon in a tomato sauce. The Chicken Tawook was flavorful and generous portion pieces on the platter. Everything here is made fresh daily and delicious. This is a great place for any occasion. For larger tables the server brings out a real show stopper; huge silver ornate covered platters made for Shah and Sultan alike! One of our new favorite places!

This review is on behalf of my grandma mom and my 2 sisters who ate here just this past Monday. The food was really delicious, takes us back to the time where we used to eat Persian food. It’s perfectly cooked and staff were very polite, I highly recommend this place if you’re in the area.

Very impressed with the quality of the food and the outstanding customer service. The place is clean and the quality of the food is evident. Have visited twice and wish they had one in Oak Park, IL so I could visit it everyday! The staff is very courteous and guided us with the menu.

Be very careful. We had a dinner of kabobs, pickled vegetables, and salad. The food was good The service was good. However the next morning both my guests and I wound up with severe diarrhea

Took a walk from the rail station on a layover and found this jewel. The kabobs are amazing, the service was also. If you live in the state you have to come and get some of this food!

So far my favorite Persian restaurant here. It felt so good being able to sit with many people overlooking the street much like our cafes back in the Middle East. Food was brought out hot and fresh and portions were nice. Can't wait to go back!

Generous portions. All freshly cooked. Nothing too salty or greasy. Fast delivery of our order at a not-busy time, 2:30 pm. The fesenjan was so tasty. Also lots of vegetarian and vegan choices. We were able to park on the street, but at busy times there is valet parking.

An Iranian friend took me to this pleasant restaurant on Kedzie Ave. We had the different kinds of kabobs, with ground beef and lamb and two with beef filet, everything char-grilled, plated on a thin sheet of bread, with generous portions of Persian rice, grilled tomato, onions, the works. Everything was delicious; paortions, just like in Iranian homecooking are very generous, one dish is enough for two people! Tabouli isn't really Iranian, more Arab in origin, but it was a very fresh, great tasting appetizer. Try also the beef stew and Doogh, a milk-yogurt drink not unlike Indian Lassi. No alcohol served here. Must try out, very recommended.

The place is very clean and professional, all of them are really nice and kind, 10/10 would recommend. Thank you everyone.

The food was very fresh, tasty, and authentic. It was challenging to finish the whole dish, Soltani, as portions were huge.

We had Jujeh kabob and Barg kabob, and both were excellent. The flavor of the rice was among the best I've ever had. The restaurant doesn't accept reservations, and you order at the counter. The seating is casual and comfortable. The staff bent over backwards to ensure that we were comfortable. It's not fine dining, but the food more than makes up for any other shortcomings.

Great Persian & Mediterranean food. Absolutely loved the dill rice! My Freind and I orderded combo platter 2 with chicken and beef, the helping was huge! We both ate it and still had leftovers. Ladies taking the order were super helpful and friendly and it was the owners bday so we all got free cake :) I would definitely recommend checking it out if you want good authentic Persian food. I loved their main course presentation in a huge platter.

ordered 3 different lunch specials. my consisted of beef & chicken breast, dill relish, rice and pita. good portion and taste and nice value.

Every time I'm in Chicago I am Keen a point to come and eat here. The food is delicious, generous and fresh. I particularly like bottom bread which is a delightful feature of Persian food. Try the chicken or beef kabab you will not be disappointed.

Although the name says 'Kabob' there's plenty more here. The okra curry was absolutely delicious, and the kabob itself comes with delicious rice and naan. And if you want more, try to sumac on each table, or some of the Middle Eastern deserts as well. The place could've been cleaner, although the people running it are definitely trying their best - it's a very popular place!

Delicious food for a great price! Would definitely come back with my husband whenever we're visiting Chicago. It's halal! But the place is way too crowed and gets hot. Definitely needs to improve in that area of comfort.

Another Persian resturant in a hidden but famous Kenzie street . All the meats grilled I ate were perfectly cooked . All meat is halal . A variety of entrees to choose from . A perfect family or friend get together spot.

This restaurant was very good with great portions. Had enough to take home. Food looks just as advertised see pictures. I ordered a chicken appetizer, chicken kabob and chicken koubideh. For my father a salmon kabob. Everything was so good. Even the bread. Would definitely go there again if I travel to the area.

Great food, huge portions and the presentation of food is excellent.order the chicken kabob with the dill rice.

I went here last year when I visited my sister and we went again this year. The salmon is about the best I have ever eaten - and I live in the Pacific NW where we have fresh salmon all the time. It is perfectly prepared. The humus is the best I have ever tasted. seriously delicious food at a reasonable price. The servers are so helpful and friendly.

and by loud, i mean really loud--maybe we just hit it at the busiest time possible? anyway, we showed up at i am not sure what time on a sunday evening and the place was jumping. neither me, nor my friend had been there before--we were going based on a recommendation from another friend. when you get inside, there are two counters that say order here and no one that looks like someone who will seat you, so we threw ourselves on the mercy of one of the guys at the order desk, confessed to being newbies and were told that he would seat us with menus and when we were ready, we should come up, place our order, and they would bring the food out to us. (i think that if we were experienced enough to know what we wanted already, we could just order, and then get seated?) it's called kabobi, so we got kabobs--i got a combo that had one ground lamb and one ground beef kabob--my friend got the marinated chicken kabob (i won't try the persian name for fear of misspellings). we had been told that we should definitely spring for the fancy rice choices (an extra $4.95 so we wouldn't necessarily have known it would be worth it)--i got the one with sour cherries, she got the one with cranberries. your kabobs come on enormous pans--the size of a pan i would use to cook a frozen pizza. tons of rice, a grilled tomato, some red onions, and two really good-sized kabobs--way more food than i could eat at one sitting so a delicious lunch or two for later. (i don't know if they charge for shared meals but one pan could definitely feed two people of moderate appetite.) the wait staff was lovely--i can't tell you how many people checked in to make sure we liked our food but it was more than three. we didn't look into the drinks--they supply you with water and later on we had very nice hot black tea. not at all a place for a romantic outing but if you want really good persian food and lots of it, this place is great!

Went for a quick dinner with my fiancé for the first time. We ordered the #12, two kabobs (lamb and beef) which were cooked to perfection. The lamb was especially delicious! I also had the chicken & shrimp combo, which was tasty, though I favored the shrimp because of the flavor over the chicken which was a tad dry for me. THE DILL RICE IS FIRE, DON’T MISS IT!! The menu is large and everything looked pretty darn good. At the end of our meal, we were offered hot tea and a couple pastries similar to a churro, on the house :) I will return!

Good food, good service... we love this place. You will too. The portions are large, the prices are not.

For really good food at a reasonable price, you can't go wrong at Kabobi. The portions are quite large, and the people there are very friendly and welcoming. There is no wait staff, per se - you order at the counter and are given a number which you take your table, and your food i brought out to you, if you don't mind a casual atmosphere. The combination kabob plate is the way to go, with the dill rice - it's a great way to have more than on item, and you won't be disappointed. The vegetarian appetizer platter is large enough to share, with a nice variety of Persian and Mediterranean appetizers. The owner makes his own hot sauce that you could use as a garnish, which is more vinegar-y, but quite tasty

Great taste with some delicious flavors. A great place to visit with friends and family. Somthing new you won't soon forget.

Kabobi Grill is the new restaurant that took over the space north of Al Khyam market on Kedzie. The owners of Al Khyam used to own/run the restaurant, now no longer. Seeing as we were in the area and a number of other options were closed, we decided to try Kabobi Grill. Hummus was very good, would have liked it more tart but that is me. My lamb Koubideh kabob was ok but lacking spices, it almost tasted as if it was just grilled ground lamb. My brother had the Ghormeh Sabzi which is a spinach stew. It was good but nothing special. Sorry to report that Kabobi Grill does not serve shwarma.
Good food & generous portions
Very casual atmosphere. The owner & waitstaff were very friendly & helpful in making our dinner choices. You order, pay & food is served to your table. Portions were very large and we all enjoyed our choices. We were given hot tea and a delicious dessert. That was such a nice finish to our meal. Parking on the street with meters. Will go back again.
