We had a party of 12 Friday night. We got there at about 6pm and our table was ready. The DJ was already playing music and the $5 martinis special had started so we were happy. At 9pm the band started, both the lead singer and the lady on drums were fantastic. The atmosphere was friendly and the service was polite and quick. My advice is to get there early, by 7:30pm there was standing room only. There is valet parking so no worries about finding a spot along Piedmont.

I loved the drinks, especially with the happy hour prices. The live music was awesome. Definitely was able to sing along and dance. The DJ had a bit of an attitude, if you made requests. They could benefit from hiring more staff. The wait for the food was very long and the food was not that tasty to be waiting more than a half hour. Make a reservation, if you can. Otherwise sitting is hard to find.

This was my first time out to Kat's Cafe. I went on a Friday night. I was in awe with Reci Reign and the band. Just magical. Hint don't sit in the back on left hand side of the stage. Next time I will seat at the tables in the center first row. This band is hot, singer is outeragouesly talented, and the food is good but a little over priced! Hint#Wear Light Clothing.Ladies leave the heels at home! :>

I cannot imagine a better way to spend my night than at Kat’s cafe. AMAZING food, ambiance, cocktails and all over experience. The music was spectacular as was the crowd. Wouldn’t want to spend an Atlanta night ANY other way. Only the best things to say as a first time visitor from out of town. Love this place with all my heart. My cheeks hurt from smiling.

I've frequented Kats on a few occasions-solo, on a date and with friends and I've never had a bad experience. I usually visit on Thursday or Friday evenings after work. I love the hidden location, it's almost like a scavenger hunt when you actually find the location for the first time. The food menu is not extensive but I was never expecting this to be a full-scale restaurant. Just a place offering food to pad my stomach with substance to soak the alcohol I would partake in. I've tried the pizza and the wraps and I've eaten what I've ordered with no complaints whatsoever. The place has an odd landscape with a structure in the middle of the floor (a fireplace I think) but it's big enough that everyone (even the drunkest of the drunk) should be able to avoid it so no big deal (in my humble honest opinion) but you have those really anal people who want perfection wherever they go. I'm not that chic. The bar staff which each time I'm there is all female-have ALWAYS hit the mark with supporting my cocktail needs. they even make up drinks just for me based on what I like and don't like. The music-when I get a chance to hang around long enough is great. I keep hearing great things about comedy night so I plan on trying that soon. Again-no complaints and if you're lucky enough to find it and get a parking space-make it happen. You shouldn't regret it. I would NOT go with larger parties-its a small intimate space so mind your manners and worry about you and maybe one or two others. There isn't a huge bar area but if you're lucky enough to get a seat, you won't regret it. enjoy!

Live music, drinks and pizza. This sums up my Thursday nights at Kats. Highly recommend coming here and checking this little bar out. Always a good time!

Nice quiant Cafe with live music. Menu specialized pizza, salads, and wraps. Bartenders and Staff are friendly, and the owner is a charm.

My wife and I were in the mood for some blues or jazz and we decided to check out Kat’s on a recent Saturday evening after touring some great spots in Atlanta. We arrived about 20 minutes prior to the music starting, paid our very reasonable $7 cover and were asked if we had reservations. We did not, and as I looked around this is a very small venue with perhaps 12-15 tables in the stage area, a bar, and a few tables in the rear (out of view of the stage). As all the tables were full, we were seated at the bar (last 2 seats left!) which turned out to be an additional highlight of the evening. In addition to the great music, the bartenders were amazing, made us feel like we were regulars, made excellent (strong) drinks that were very reasonably priced, and our “bar mates” were fabulous. In fact, the entire crowd was great as we talked to several people during our 2 hr. stay. If you are in the mood for a small venue with excellent music, friendly people, and great drinks, definitely check out Kat’s!

My wife and I canvassed the Internet for a good jazz club in Atlanta and were recommended to go to this venue. We always wanted to go to Atlanta and by coincidence we had to rebook our flight from Aruba to Amsterdam via Atlanta where we stayed overnight. Kat’s Café; our cab driver did not find it as this is somewhat of a hidden gem on Piedmont ;but asking around we happened upon Kat’s just across from the place where our cab had stopped. As soon as we came in we felt it was exactly what we had been hoping for all these years. Great mix of people, broadminded, very polite and a fantastic atmosphere for all age brackets. The musical talent was mind boggling we could not stop to admire the performers and have never experienced such an outstanding atmosphere. Everybody was enjoying themselves and nobody I really mean nobody looked askance. In the end We could not but compliment the host of the evening and the owner of this café for their wonderful efforts, great staff and last but not least their sophisticated performers. We hail from Amsterdam and everybody we spoke to is extremely jealous of our great night out. We could only stay one night in this wonderful city with its impressive history and I must say as a member of the black diaspora I have never been so touched by the pride and consciousness of my fellow brothers and sisters. An experience we will never forget. Thank you Kat’s café and thanks you Atlanta we will come back later this year for a longer stay. My greatest compliments Alexander& Debby

I have been here quite a few times. Kat the owner is so amazing and so his her business. I dated a sax player and we would go to Kats and enjoy/join in on the music. I can't wait to go back!!

Kats is a great little music venue in the heart of Midtown Atlanta. They have a very nice mix of soul, R&B and blues. It is a refreshing change from most clubs that cater to a 20-something hipster crowd. The staff is great and the bartenders remembered me after only one visit. If you want to relax with a mature crowd and enjoy some fine music, check it out. The food is just basic bar food so don't expect a 5-start meal. It's adequate to prepare for a night of drinking, but that about it. As mentioned, it is small so get there early if you want to sit down. Also, the parking area is tiny so you may be better off parking in one of the nearby lots.

Turned out to be a great hidden gem! In town for a funeral and met up with some family members at Kats on Friday night after a friend suggested it. Great music and good drinks. We arrived at 10 pm and were able to get a table. They close at 1 am but you can still order food at 1 am. I definitely recommend this spot if you like live music. I purchased the CD for Phillippia who performed on the night we were there. Great performer!!

If you like dark and dirty then this is for you. Live Music was great but a $10 cover charge for a hole in the wall is a no thanks for me. Food was so so the menu is just a handful of items.

Had out-of-town guests' and needed a table in a crunch. Kat (the owner) called me back after a message I left on her service and I got a table for 8. Everyone loved it! The venue is intimate and the talent was awesome. The food was passable but the drinks were the best. This place is a must-try because of the small venue and big talent. Be on time, it fills up fast.

I love this spot. It is trendy, food is food and the live music is the best! I visited again last night with a good friend and we had a great time. The bayou pizza is great and the drinks are creative and tasteful.

My aunt had a birthday party here....so glad we had a reserved area, because it's tight. Really good band, good food and drinks. However, you have to get there early enough to get a good seat. I definitely will be going again.

In Atlanta visiting friends and this place was recommended to us by our friend that lives there. We told him we just wanted to chill and listen to some music. This place was a good spot for it. It's hidden and hard to find, but worth it. That valet parking was necessary because the lot is small. We got there later so had to stand up for awhile. It was open mic night so we got to hear some of ATL's various talents. You had singing and instrument playing. You don't expect top notch talent on an open mic so we took it for what it was worth. We had some drinks and enjoyed the show. The place is small and if you get stuck towards the back they have a tv feed in case you can't see the stage. We didn't have any of the food so I can't comment on that, but the drinks were good and the atmosphere was lively. I would definitely go back if in town again.

This is the place to be for food, drinks and entertainment! My friend enjoyed the pizza and we all enjoyed the cocktails. Open mic night was very good. There were some very talented people who shared their gifts and talents with us! Unforgettable!

I'm part of a jazz/r&b group from New York that was supposed to perform at Kat's during a tour in 2020 that was postponed because of the pandemic. For the past few months, we've have been trying to reschedule our show, but we've been treated very unprofessionally by Isaac. He told us that we had a specific date reserved on the calendar and later said it wasn't available (after we booked our travel and accommodations), promised to return our phone calls but never did, didn’t responded to any voicemails and emails, and even hung up on us during our last conversation. Please be very careful and thorough if you decide to do business with them.

I went for the place after reading about it in local hotel magazine ... well ... I was not dissapointed AT ALL! I was there on a Saturday, no, the place was packed! I had to stand up, but it didn't matter, I paid my 10 cover and enjoyed the music, courtesy of Eva Kennedy in the lead vocals. It wasn't that long before I found my way to a bar stool, and later I was offered a shared table seat just left to the stage. Dinner was not the main intention of my visit, but my chicken wrap was good. I was in the mood for a mojito, only to learn they don't serve those. But bar is good and have plenty of cocktail options for you.

Went to kats cafe and the entertainment was great although with the times that we are in having a guest WiFi seems silly not to have. This cellphone company got us in such a situation that using WiFi us better to do so to find out that the cafe didn't have it disappointing especially is hard to hey service in the cafe.

The martinis were wonderful and inexpensive great spot! the martinis were wonderful and inexpensive cool adult hangout spot The food is good and affordable but need to add some chicken finger and fries to the menu. the band was great, will visit again spot

Had a wonderful time! Kat is so sweet & hospitable! The shrimp garden salad hit the spot! Seven, the entertainment, was quite entertaining! The sax player, yeah his name should be 'Fangahs' (Fingers)! It was a girl's night out, but next time the hubby & I will make it a date night !

My wife and I celebrated Valentine's Day at this spot. The vibe was amazing and the live jazz was tremendous!!!! Unity Jazz

Excelent service and entertainment. Friendly service and delicious food and drinks were served. i will be back!

It was my first visit to this great place. The live music was fantastic!! I sang at my table the entire night. The band played everything from Katy Perry, Adele, to Jill Scott and Rihanna. The place is small and there were quite a few parties that night so by 7:30 it was standing room only, but we were on a standby list and the owner was quick to get the one of the parties who left area cleaned really quickly and got us seated (she is amazing). The pizza was good and the shrimp quesadillas were good as well. I would definitely visit again and again.

Kat's Cafe with a K now!! I had heard a lots about this place as I do not go in the city of Atlanta that much as I live in the Burbs. I decided to take my spouse out for some eating & music, so I said lets go!,I am glad I did this is a nice place to go and eat and listen to a little live music as their are not many places that offer this. the people are friendly and the food was good and within reason. when I walked in I do what I normally do I look for the eatery rating it was and A. we procedded to order the Cajun Pizza and the Cajun Shrimp awesome! and the place was lit!! I enjoyed myself so much and when we was told on Thursday they have open mic night we returned with friends, we had a wonderful time if you ever in the Atl check it out it is in the heart of Midtown Thanks Kat Cafe for a great time and good food!!!
Awesome pizza!
The owners and staff at Kat's Cafe provide some of the best service in Midtown. The pizza is not to be missed! Try to catch a local concert if you're in the area. Their open mic was voted best in Atlanta for 2015!
