I was in Austin on business and wanted to try something new that didn't require me traveling to downtown. The concept of the restaurant is spot on but the execution falls a bit short for me. The staff was friendly but the food was undercooked (still frozen in the center). I was looking forward to a home-cooking type of restaurant that stayed open late. I'm not sure if I will be back to this location. Maybe the others are better.

Three of us made it here Thanksgiving night when we were way too tired of traditional Thanksgiving meals. Bison Chili Frito Pie, Fish Tacos and Chicken Sandwich took care of that. The service was a little slow (even though the place was not packed like it usually is), but it was Thanksgiving Day, so, no big deal. All of the food was tasty, and we all cleaned our plates. We will certainly come back (and try to avoid the peak times when people spill out on the sidewalk).

More than a breakfast place. I had the Cuban sandwich this time. The service is great. The place is clean along with the restrooms. Late night snack after the UT football game. Food is very filling. Good pricing for good food.

Our group of three adults and one toddler stopped by here for a late breakfast/brunch on a Sunday. Two of our party have dairy/egg allergies and Kerbey Lane was great about accommodating and making sure their food was prepared safely. I had the Eggs Francisco with homefries and fruit. This was probably one of the most delicious breakfast meals I have ever had. I would highly recommend it. The rest of our party had standard breakfast fare (eggs, sausage, toast, etc), however one had a ham steak and said it was one of the best he has had. The mimosas were pretty good too. Our server was attentive at first but once we had our food/drinks we had a little trouble trying to get his attention after that. Overall though, it was a good experience and I would go back again.

Our party of 5 had just wrapped day three at ACL and were dying for something that wasn't fast food before we went home and finally SLEPT. Kerby Lane was the lucky winner and it was a great recommendation by our local hosts!! (I'm from Portland, Oregon) So not only did they have an amazing breakfast and dinner menu but their adult beverages were priced with a mission to ensure I had a $2 mimosa and I was soooo close to buying the $12 carafe of mimosas....but I refrained and stuck with One. Ok ok back to the point the food. Their queso dip with the guacamole actually IN is a must. Don't argue. Just order it. I ordered the fried chicken and Mac 'n Cheese (yes, that's right) because I'm a sucker for Mac 'n Cheese. It had a green chili sauce over the top and it was not only my dinner but also breakfast the next two days and I'm not ashamed people!! I wanted to ensure I ate every single bite! The hubs got the Paris France which consisted of the migas (you must get it with the queso) and French toast....both were magical. Our waiter was super busy with the after ACL Rush and he handled it like a champ! He was nice, as quick as he possibly could and could give and take a joke. Cheers!

A fantastic place for Breakfast!!! Fell in love with this fantastic restaurant. Best pancakes I have ever had before. The Coffee was very delicious and our server kept on refreshing it. Everyone enjoyed their food. Beautifully plated and very nice portions. Very convenient seating, tables are not too crowded. Service was fantastic!!!

Order an Eggs Francisco and coffee. Big portions and delicious food. Great place for breakfast/brunch. Seems its a 24/7 place.

Good breakfast, large servings, lots of different kinds of pancakes. Interesting customers and a cute waiter. Atmosphere that probably hasn't changed much in decades. What is not to love?

I have been eating at Kerbey Lane for over 20 years and look forward to eating here when I come to Austin. The experience on July 5, 2023 was not up to standards. All three of us ordered migas and there were NO eggs in the migas, only tortillas and sauce. When we told the server she said that migas are always like this and have always been made like this at Kerbey Lane. Migas with no eggs are not Migas. Also the server should have offered to have the food remade instead of telling us that we don’t know what migas are supposed to taste like. Also the bathroom was very dirty.

Kerbey Lane is an Austin classic. All their locations have the same menu, service and food - all very good. I enjoy it each time.

My first visit to this location and second overall. Great breakfast tacos with many choices. I saw several items for a next visit. Long lines but good seating in wait area. Friendly server.

Not sure what was different in this Kerbey Lane, but our room was exceptionally noisy and my pancakes had been flipped too many times! Waitstaff was excellent, but hard to hear what they were saying. Will choose the patio next time.

We went for late breakfast and the place was packed. So we went for late dinner, and got in. The are open 24 hours. I have to say that portions are so big, a lot of food goes uneaten and i hate that. I ordered the queso with guacamole and had to return it... It was a really weird dish. The kids meals, were so big, i lost my appetite. The tomato tart was good. Im not sure i will go back, although my kids said it was the best grilled cheese.

Stopped in for breakfast and sat for 10 minutes without seeing a single server. There were only three other tables occupied so not like they were slammed. Waiter finally came out with a tray of food for another table and acknowledged us, however still no offer for service. After another 5 minutes we finally got up and left.

I stopped in for lunch as a study break, and went for the classic breakfast of two eggs, muffin, sausage, and home fries. I’ve been frequenting the 183 location of Kerbey Lane since 2003, and have always enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The current location is superior to the original, and the staff is always friendly. Interior was clean, the seating comfortable, and the atmosphere pleasant. My meal was filling, but not the fabulous food I normally get. Nothing about it was bad, just that it was bland. I don’t know if there was a change of recipe or cook, or if this was an “off-day.” It’s still a decent place to go, any time of day, for a variety of menu items.

We met up with some friends for my husband's birthday. The appetizer was great but our server seemed vexed and random throughout the entire visit. At one point my friend and I asked for tea refills. She brought one tea. Not two. ???? My husband ordered the mac and cheese. Bacon is not listed as an ingredient on the menu, but there was definitely bacon bits in the dish. We were very disappointed in this, as we do not eat bacon. I know the world thinks you can't ever get enough bacon, but it ought to be listed in the description on the menu and not just considered an added "feature."

All the food is good but the pancakes and seasonal menu are awesome. The Kerby Queso is off the charts. You better be patient because food this good creates lines...long lines.

We ate dinner at Kirby Lane on a Sunday. This was my husband's, son's and my first time there, however our daughter and son in law who went with us go quite often and when they suggested it we wondered if we would like it since it is called "cafe". The atmosphere is good, our service was excellent. I was debating on two different items and our waiter really helped. We each ordered different meals and tasted each others, all entrees were great. The food is fresh. We will definitely return. Check out the art for sale on the walls. There is also an outdoor eating area, but we sat inside.

What to say? Many of my friends are stuck in ruts and Kerby seems to be their "go to". They like the fact that it's local and has good food. I think that "back in the day" Kerby was probably one of the few choices in town but these days there are so many other restaurants that seem to do it better. I have eaten at their various locations many times and every time (except once at lunch) at this specific location they were out of what I ordered and didn't tell me until the food was being served. Seriously? Yup EVERY TIME. I just don't understand that. Well on this last visit I got what I ordered (I know better and ordered salad so not too much can go wrong there) but my friend didn't get what she ordered and they didn't tell her until the food arrived which was an HOUR after we ordered. (No it wasn't busy at all) I 100% appreciate that the food is cooked to order and that it's not sitting somewhere just to be heated up before serving but...it always takes so long to get your food I joke they must be peddling on bicycles to another location to get the food. This is not the waitresses fault so we asked to talk to the manager and tell him that there really needed to be better communication between kitchen & waitress. He thought we were going to complain about how long it took to get the food and told us immediately he was going to comp all our meals before even hearing what we had to say. Nice gesture but all we wanted to say was please communicate. We then asked for some idea of what the bill was so we could tip the waitress...oh my...I had to leave to get to another activity and she still hadn't come by with the info when I left. They do have good vegetarian selections. There is inside and patio seating where you can sit outside with your dog. They have a full bar. There is plenty of parking. In summary- the food is good WHEN and IF you eventually get it. Knowing that helps and you can just go and enjoy being with your friends.

We were in Austin 3 days and ate breakfast here twice. This is one of the few places I can get a great vegan breakfast - and I mean GREAT. The service was outstanding both times. Wish you would expand to the DFW area!

First, we waited 45 minutes, ok it was Saturday at lunch time; we're seated beverage and food orders taken, 45 minutes pass, glasses emplty, we have to flag the wait person to refill drinks, and when we ask what the issue is with our food, we are told they are really busy and our table of six was a big order. When our food finally came (it was delivered by the manager) 3 out of 6 orders were wrong and a 4th was not fully cooked... the manager comped the meal and offered the one person who lived in the area something for their next visit. We did not tip as the wait person was terrible and had messed up an order at another table while we waited. They boast about their fried green tomatoes, it was a ton of breading around very little tomato. The wait person also spilled dressing on my husband. It 2as sad as we all looked forward to the meal as one in the party was vegan, another has issues with gluten. The vegan meal was covered in cheese among other things. June 6th, 2015.

Their food is always fresh, they grow most of their own veggies and it shows. We love this place no matter what time of day it is. It's worth the wait if you get there at a busy time.

Today we enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent. Kerbey Lane delivered on all we expected from their entire staff. We will go back.

There were 4 adults and two children in our party. Everyone's meals were very good. No one had something they wouldn't order or try again. In fact, everyone including the children were looking forward to a return visit.

Had not been to Kerbey Lane in 13 years. Visiting Texas and wanted to have the Kerbey Queso. Love it!! Was disappointed about the old place closing years ago. This one was just not the same, but the food is still great. Very good service!

This is a standard Kerby Lane. We had the "Chicken and Pancakes" and the "Chicken Fried Steak" and both were pretty good. Both plates were large and a lot of food.

The food was wonderful. We had breakfast there and had the Kerbey combo that included the pancake of the day. (it was cinnomen pancake) OMG! I was told this was a great breakfast place and they were right. If you are in Austin you should check it out.

We visited Kerbey lane for dinner. The they feature breakfast, lunch and dinner with a nice healthy twist. I had the “naked Chile rellenos” stuffed with chicken and other items. I found it to be very tasty. The naked adjective is added because there is no deep fried flour coating on the pepper. I liked the service and the food was good. Overall we enjoyed our meal!

Kerbey Lane is an all-day American diner that started up in Austin in 1980. While their original place has long closed down, you can now find a handful of Kerbey Lane diners scattered around the city including this place Northwest branch along Hwy 183 near Anderson Mill Road. They have a large indoor seating area and are open from 7am to 10pm daily. You can do take-away and delivery in the area as well. Had breakfast at this Kerbey Lane branch recently. Fluffy tasty pancakes served with bacon and bottomless coffee was just perfect, tasted exactly as expected and made for a good start to my day. Service was polite, friendly and regular throughout. This was a great breakfast, one I'd gladly make a habit of enjoying if I had a similar place near home.

We went for lunch with 5 children and 4 adults on Saturday. I had tried unsuccessfully to use Yelp no wait. The person seating us was very prompt to seat our large group. The children were served promptly as were the adults. The server was very attentive and a good time was had by all. They even had a young lady doing balloon animal which pleased the younger children. Altogether, we shall return!

Got there at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Waited 45 min for a table for 7. Was seated outside finally; no problem. Several tables outside had dogs with them. NOT well-mannered dogs, or perhaps better to say not well TRAINED dogs. While we were there there were SIX dog fights!!! Not nips, growls, but FIGHTS!!! It was horrifying. Our server was a 1 out of 10, if that. Not friendly, I explained we had a birthday girl; she said a very lackluster "happy birthday...". You'd think the bday girl got good treatment? NOPE. We got our food 45 minutes later, but the bday girl's food had been forgotten!!! She had to wait another 20 minutes!!!!!!!! For fish tacos! On three occasions our server brushed her tray up against me. The last time she brushed the bottom of the tray over my shoulder and it left FOOD and DRINK (of some sort) all over my shirt!!! As she did it she said, "Sorry I have a bad wrist." This woman had no business serving if that's the case and couldn't have cared less about anything or the customers Yes, I know they were busy, but you don't forget a plate, especially for the honoree of the gathering., then you don't risk your food/drink tray brushing across guests. It was a disaster from start to finish. We will not be back. And the dog fights?? Really people, if you cannot control your dog DO NOT take them to a restaurant of all places!! I don't want to watch or hear that going on and neither does anyone else...INCLUDING those patrons with dogs of their own! There were a few small children . Those dogs could have really done damage! Ugh.

I have been a patron of NW KLC since I moved to Austin 10 years ago. I loved it. However, the past three times I have been there, my food has been cold and does not come as described on the menu. Today my lamb burger, $12.95 came cooler than room temp and missing three ingredients. I ordered crispy fries and not only were the cold, they were limp. My last breakfast experience was the same - the eggs were less than room temp as were my home fries. The wait staff is great. In my opinion, the kitchen staff needs a lot of improvement. It's always busy, so there's no excuse for not having enough cooks in the kitchen to do a good job. I am so disappointed. Third strike and you're out. Hate to say it, but I need to find a new place to hang out and enjoy the food and the crowd.

I like it best for breakfast items - there are better places for (worse for you) main meals. The French Toast is some of the best around. Chicken Omelet with Verde sauce is really good. Everything is freshly made and flavorful. Kirby Lane is a must-have if you are visiting Austin. Not necessarily this location, but if you're in the area and don't want to travel to the original, this'll do. It gets super crowded during peak periods (weekend mornings); get there early or be prepared for a long wait.

Today was my third Kerbey Lane Café experience and first at this location. We went for Sunday brunch after church and I reserved our place in line via the nowait app on my phone (if you don't have it you should get it). Upon arrival we were warmly greeted and seated in about 5 minutes. Our server promptly took our drink orders. We ordered the chips and queso as an appetizer. I ordered the breakfast quesadilla with sausage and my wife had the grilled Chipotle chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries. The queso and fresh salsa was really good and so were our meals. Out of the three meals I have had this was my least favorite but still it was very good. Our service was not as good at this location as it has been at the other two we have visited but was not bad. Kerbey Lane Café remains one of my favorites in Austin. If you are in the area definitely give them a try.

Very, very good Pumpkin French Toast. I had this along with migas and really enjoyed my meal. The coffee and service was also very good. A little noisy atmosphere though.

This is a place that must be packed every Saturday and Sunday morning and afternoon. They even allow dogs on their "porch" area, which is outside the main building, but is also enclosed enough to keep you out of the weather. We came here with 3 adult couples (parents, grandparents, and aunt & uncle) and twins under the age of 2. I was very impressed with how quickly they took our orders and, more importantly, how quickly they brought out the food for the toddlers. Once their food arrived (and was cut up by their mother), the rest of us could have a somewhat more relaxing time to chat and then eat. The food was quite good. Besides the usual breakfast foods, they had their Kerbey special of pancakes, eggs, sausages and fruit. The waiter said there were 2 or 3 kinds of pancakes; when I hesitated between buttermilk and blueberry, he offered 1 of each, which was perfect. The food was quite good, though I couldn't finish everything. Everything was reasonably priced as well. The staff brought the right combination of attentiveness and time to eat; they were never overbearing. When the children had finished most of their food, a young woman came around offering to make balloon animals for them. There was no requirement to pay her anything, though we did give her a gratuity. The kids loved the balloons, especially unwinding them! It was perfect entertainment for them so the rest of us could finish eating. This is a very popular place, but they were very good at handling the crowds.

Kerbey Lane is a reliable place, especially for breakfast. Today a group went. All ordered different breakfasts and all were delicious. The venue is newer, clean and always busy. We will be back.

We ALWAYS have an amazing breakfast here!! Never disappointed. They have probably 15 variations of pancakes and so many other breakfast favorites to choose from. Today I ordered the Eggs Fransisco. Which is an English muffin piled high with scrambled eggs, sliced tomato, bacon, avocado and drizzled with queso blanco. It was AMAZING!! It comes with two sides and I got a single blueberry pancake. This was more than enough food and such a reasonable price for the amount of food you receive. The regular pancakes are as big as your face (or dinner plate). They also come in half-sized. ***Kerbey Lane has plenty of vegan and gluten free options too. *** This is a regular place for our Sunday brunch. A few of the other things I love here: chicken fried eggs benedict, flavored lattes, French toast, omelettes. Can't go wrong with Kerbey Lane and YES, it's absolutely worth the wait.

Burger was decent, nothing to write home about. Fried avocado tacos had no flavor. Everything was very bland.

Cute little restaurant, great menu with a better than average range of choices. We went for week day breakfast around 10, it wasn't busy. Nice waiter, ordered basic dishes, took a long time. Food came out and mine was room temp. By this time we're starving so I ate it any way. The worst part is the food was outstanding, the flavors were fresh and original, the refried beans were very good and it would have been 5 stars if the food had been hot. My daughter had the pancakes and fried chicken. The chicken was way overbreaded and a bit dry but she said it was overall pretty good. I would recommend this place but ask them about timing on the dishes you order and ask them to bring it out hot rather than all together.

I've eaten at all the Kerbey Lanes in Austin dozens of times over the past 20 years. I love their migas, fried green tomatoes menu items and more. But their coffee always has a slight bitter taste. Enjoy the food but skip the black coffee.

Come to this restaurant when you have time to enjoy it and your company. Lunch breaks are not ideal due to the popularity! I've never had a bad dish here, they serve great breakfast foods all day and their unique dishes are one of a kind. Tried something different today and it was yummy! Service was mediocre but not terrible. You may wait, but it's worth it!!

Popular restaurant in Austin, offering breakfast, lunch and dinner alternative with simple and well-crafted dishes In my opinion, there is a lack of attention from the staff in charge of the tables neglect the customers and the service is very slow While the food menu is appreciated with variety and things that crave, the reality is that at least the dish requested by a server, was not so good The chilaquiles have an acceptable taste, however it is not so good the rice that has the dish does not combine with the additional chilaquiles to that was not well prepared the sauce of the chilaquiles obviously has a big difference with the sauce in Mexico and in general the taste is not so good The coffee is very delicious, however, the service is so slow that they take time to offer you the refill of Cafe To make a restaurant that has several branches. In my opinion, this requires improvement in the aspect of the service Cleanliness of place is good and proper decoration with place

Lots of great delicious options! The cinnamon roll pancakes were out of control! Worth the splurge!!

Very eclectic, grass roots kinda place. Fresh local food served with a twist! Unique dishes with daily and seasonal specials. And $2 Mimosas! Pancakes are a treat but they are HUGE!

Kerbey Lane almost always has amazing food—that’s a given. It’s the service that makes or breaks a trip to Kerbey. My kiddo and I ended up here got breakfast this morning, and it was perfect all around. Awesome service and terrific food. It was the best Kerbey meal I’ve had in a long time and I can’t wait to go back. Yum!

One of the few breakfast restaurants in Austin. The migas are excellent and the pancakes are the best. Prices are reasonable and the service was great.

Always a great late night spot. Great beer on tap, good sound menu. Food is always the same no matter which Kerby Lane location. Servers are super friendly and fast! Very comfortable and clean. Love this restaurant.

My wife had an early morning doctor appointment and we had 45 minutes before needing to be in the doctor's office. Thought breakfast at Kerbey Lane would be nice. No one was waiting to order food at 7:30am. There were only 6 people in the restaurant. The waiters outnumbered the guests. We were shown a table and waited 20 minutes (literally) before anyone bothered to ask if we'd been waited on. All the while waiters passed back and forth. Should we have said something? Maybe. But that shouldn't be my job. The staff were clearly twiddling their thumbs. I won't go back.

I went on a Saturday and it was crowded, but didn't have to wait too long. If you have never been to Kirby you will have to order the queso. It is what they're famous for. After the queso, which didn't disappoint, I ordered a jalapeno, bleu cheese, bison burger. It was great, I ordered it medium rare and it came out well done but that's probably because it was a full house.

Our group ate here twice and both times were great. Service was good both times with different servers. No wait for a dinner but had to wit about 20 minutes for Sunday lunch. One standout was the blueberry pancakes. Other than home cooked, these were some of the best restaurant pancakes I have had. Very generous with the whole blueberries and the pancakes were very light and tender. Portions were very good. We will visit again.

This is an eclectic restaurant where everyone should be able to find something they like for a meal. The Kerbey Queso is fabulous. The burgers are good as well as the chicken dishes.

There is usually a wait, but the food is usually worth it. The brunch items are so good, especially the California omlet and special flavor pancakes. Service is usually good, although somewhat slow at busier times.

Everything we have had hear has been good. We normally have the breakfast food, no matter the time of day and it is always good. The portions are large enough to share. The service, no matter how busy, is always good as well. If you can only get one thing, try the pancakes that are bigger than your face.

We went there 2 times on this trip. Sat at the bar. Otherwise it was a 1 to 2 hour wait. Food was fresh, servers were friendly.

What a disappointment! We so looked forward to our visit to Kerbey Lane Cafe on our visit from Dallas. We arrived at their new (to us) strip mall location early to beat the rush that we had always experienced when we lived in Austin. Service was friendly but our orders were served cold, completely cold. Second go round, was hot, greasy food. Should have ordered our old standby, gingerbread pancakes.

Good food, but menus weren't clean Pumpkin pancakes were excellent...... Attitude about the menus were alittle disapointing

I have heard about Kerby Lane and my daughter recently encouraged me to go after a visit by her on her last visit to Austin. My wife and I drove up on a Saturday morning and was surprised how full the parking lot was filled this early in the day. We walked into a restaurant nearly full and lot of activity. After a short delay since our server was just starting her shift we ordered for a menu with lots of choices. My daughter recommended the pancake swirls which she said it was a cross of a pancake and cinnamon roll. I was torn between gingerbread and buttermilk pancakes. I chose on of each. I kept going back and forth and could not decided which was better, they were both awesome. In the end I gave the gingerbread the edge and recommend a trip to Kerby Lane to try the test yourself. Kerby Lane is now on my short list for breakfast in Austin.

We made a special effort to find a Kerry Lane close to our Domain area hotel. My daughter had recommended the restaurant to us. We checked the closing time before leaving our hotel—it was 10 PM. We arrived at 9:15 PM and was told the dining room being used had just been filled. We decided to wait since many customers started leaving. The receptionist informed us we could wait or leave. Even though she seemed to have nothing to do, she never offered to seat us or let us order. Finally at 9:45 she informed us they were closing the restaurant and we could not be served. At most restaurants, if you arrive before the posted closing, you are served. We could have chosen many other restaurants, but rest assured, this Kerbey Lane will no longer be on our list.

We came at lunch on Saturday and following other reviews we reserved first with an online app. You were very accommodating with the fact that we had a small dog with us and set us on the outside terrace. I got the vegan scramble which was delicious. I had vegan queso and salsa to top it. My husband I did the vegan barbecue sandwich. It was delicious and generous and portions. My son got a portobello hamburger. Was juicy and perfect.

They serve breakfast all day.The queso is one of the best. We used to be great fans of Magnolia Cafe but finding parking there can be an issue. So we have shifted our allegiance to Kerby lane. We mostly go to the one at William Cannon. The atmosphere could use some help. Food is tasty, fresh, seasonal and plentiful. The specials are intriguing enough to make you want to sample. Service is friendly and courteous. They allow pets in the enclosed patio that has its own side entrance. It is affordable and the selection is varied. There are also healthy options. I love the migas and kids like the pancakes. There is something for all tastes and ages. I have heard that parking can be a problem but haven't had a any issues yet. Maybe because we have never been there on a weekend morning.

My daughter, her friend and I were told about this restaurant when we were doing the zip line at Lake Travis. So, after 3 hours zipping around, we were eager to try this restaurant because we were hungry! I had the gingerbread pancakes and they were delicious. I forgot what the girls had but everything was so good. Our waiter, Jordan, did a very nice job and then to top it off, John, the manager came over to our table and said that since it was our first time, the meal was on the house. WOW! That made a super awesome experience. I have never had that happen before. So, Thank you again John and yes, we will be back to the Kerbey Lane Cafe when we are in that neck of the woods.

I've been to the KLCs located south of the river numerous times, so it was a good choice to go here. I usually don't go this far north for breakfast, but I wanted to hit up the Half Price Books location nearby, and had some time to kill. As usual, the food was great. My waitress, Katie, was a sweet girl who never let my cup get empty of coffee, and made sure I was doing OK several times during the meal. Service is king is my motto, and Katie gets high marks for it.

This was my first visit to this location in several years. Breakfast was delicious! The pancakes were light and fluffy - plenty of butter and syrup. The eggs and sausage were delicious and filling. Extra kudos to our server, Blythe, who was friendly, professional, attentive, and did a great job of meeting our needs in spite of COVID. We ate outside and had a great experience.

I was having a car inspected in Austin and asked for a place to eat. They suggested here. I took a Lyft and then realized I forgot my mask in the car being serviced. I went in side covering my mouth and nose with my jacket and explained I forgot my mask, but wanted to sit out side. "Do you have any extra masks", I asked? No. OK, figured all was well while I waited for an outside table. When it was my time, I headed to the door. A woman (apparently the person in charge of taking food out for pick up) was headed my way so I held the door for her. "You cannot come in without a mask", she said. OK, I explained the situation to her and that I had already been inside once and was sitting outside. She said no, the LAW said I could not come inside. SO, I ask is there anywhere I can walk to to buy a mask? "I don't know", was the reply. And it would have been one thing if she was polite about it, but she was just nasty. So, I walked across the parking lot looking for a place to buy a mask and lo and behold, there was a Walgreen's across the parking lot. She did not know it was there? Bigger then life? Anyway, bought a mask and returned. Got seated and ordered the fish and chips. The fish was almost inedible. The batter was too thick and it was overcooked to the point of almost being burnt. I will say the fries and slaw were good and the waitress very friendly. As I was not in a position to go anywhere else, I removed the batter from the fish and ate it that way.. I would not return here on a bet. I would have been better off at one of the chain restaurants nearby.

We love eating here and taking out of towners! GREAT place for families and we always feel really comfortable taking baby here. Super friendly staff- just expect a wait for weekend brunch times.

Kerbey Lane is a sure bet. It is perhaps the best for breakfast but good for any time of day. My neighbor and I were going to brunch so there were few great choices. Of course we chose Kerbey Lane and we were delighted.

This location is a bit more mainstream than the others, but it is a staple for Austinites. If you go for a weekend breakfast/brunch, be prepared to wait upwards of 30-45 minutes. Their pancakes are good, but try Eggs Fransisco... Fantastic.

One of my favorite laces in austin now its my daughters favorite place . The pancakes are just the best and wonderful omeletes

We visited Kirby Lane while visiting family in Austin. My husband has the smoked salmon Benedict and I had the smoked salmon omlet! They were both absolutely delicious! Oh and don't skip the queso for you potatoes... You'll love it!

So, the restaurant is friendly, easy to order, and has a large menu. They have a seasonal menu, and the majority of the options are breakfast related (no worries if you are not a breakfast person, they sell burgers and such). I think the hype had me expecting something amazing. Don't get me wrong, this place has a 'diner' feel. If you are craving a 'feel good' back to the oldies dining experience, I would visit. I would stick to the breakfast foods... I gave it a 3 out of 5 because I'm a tough critique: a 3 for me means that I would go again if I'm in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit.

Lots of great food but I'm still pining for the pumpkin pancakes I had there which were fantastic. Our waitress was great as well and the coffee was kept nice and full.

Went with a co-worker and really liked the place. Good atmosphere and food and our waitress did a great job. I had the pulled pork tacos and they were great. Quality of food seems very high. Co-worker said they have the best breakfasts, which I think they serve all day long. Also, for the Pokémon players, this is a gym. LOL

This is one of my favorite places to eat breakfast. They give you large portions and the food and service is always excellent. Only negative... they always have a long wait!

My husband and I had dinner together with my daughter and her boyfriend at Kerbey Lane Cafe in North Austin, Texas on Friday, December 15th. We have enjoyed Kerbey Lane for its wide variety of different type of items on its menu, including a breakfast menu available throughout the day. The menu has something for everyone. I enjoyed a California Omelet for dinner and my daughter, who has a gluten free diet, thought the Acorn Squash Au Gratin entrée was quite good. All our portions were generous and the service was very good. We like to go to this restaurant when we are in the Austin area for its wide selection of items, and it is worth the wait, which was about ten minutes, to get a table.

Been here numerous times. Apparently things have changed. My wife had a Denver omelet with uncooked veggies and more country potatoes than one human could eat! I had biscuits and gravy, scrabbled eggs, and sausage which was quite good. Service was good. Guess you're supposed to order pumpkin pancakes this time of year - no thanks.

We were back in the area checking out some of other favorite places to eat and we had always enjoyed Breakfasts here. This location didn't exist when we were here last but we thought it would be the same as the previous location. WRONG!!! We had the Lemon Poppy French Toast Platter and the French Toast was more like a cake or specialty bread and not what I would consider French Toast. The pancakes, what was our most favorite thing on the menu were a far cry from what we had before. Everything else was just so-so. What a disappointment! Not sure we will be back with all the other choices available and limited time in the area.

Definitely worth the wait. Visited during SXSW and spring break so was a busy lunchtime. Waited about 15 minutes for a single table but the food was not a disappointment and worth the wait.

Awesome breakfast and service. Sonja was the best!!! You will be very pleased with your experience. Will definitely go here every time I visit round rock.

Long wait on Sat. brunch, but we walked right into the patio (got lucky....not part of the wait list) and sat down at bar. Would have been an hour wait, otherwise. Great service, food really good and reasonable. I had the Taquilles (fried eggs over chopped fried corn tortillas soaked in salsa verde with sour cream and refried black beans. My companion was pleased with her cobb sandwich. Pancakes and french toast looked awesome. Very reasonably priced for such fresh ingredients and good service.

Service was excellent. Our waiter Dillon was extremely polite. We had the chicken fried chick w/ Mac and cheese. I had the Kerbey breakfast combo with the weekly special pancakes. Everything was excellent.

Everything here is fantastic. Love that they are all over but the original is still my favorite. Try their flavored pancakes. They have a special pancake every day. Worth trying!

We looked for a place open late with good food. Kerbey Lane Cafe was perfect. The food was delicious and the service was excellent.

We are regulars here. We like the food and the service and go at least once a week. Sometimes we go more often. The music is consistently way too loud, even when we are literally the only customers, and seems to be set for the staff's pleasure, not for the patrons. We have not asked for the music to be turned down, but we feel we should not have to ask for something so obvious. There should also be a kids' section, with something to make a section attractive for kids, so that other patrons can escape kids who are not well managed by their parents -- or have the hosts seat all the families in one section, regardless of customer requests so that only one section is loud and chaotic with little boys running around unsupervised. (or bring back the idea of kids menu for eating in half price on a certain day of the week, so that the rest of us can avoid that one day?) As a former server, I know that it is hard to be the server for families, so that responsibility for a kid section or kid night should be rotated fairly since families sometimes tip less and leave bigger messes and have lots of little requests. It was hard to pick a date for "when did you go" for Trip Advisor, as we have been to Kerbey Lane many many times at this location. The pancakes are excellent. The service is usually very good. I am disappointed that the "new menu" has some price increases, so regulars need to look closely before ordering. With all of that said, we are regulars, KL is close to our home and has a lot of good choices.

the place was awesome and great to find the foods when hungry at the middle of the night where any others restaurant are closed also the staffs was very friendly and the price are affordable

Gingerbread pancakes are so so so yummy. Everyone got something different and raved about what they ordered. Was there on rainy Saturday morning ( 3/4/17) place was packed but turnover was fairly quick with less than 30 min wait. Service was fast and friendly.

Had to go to Kerbey Lane while visiting Austin. I LOVE pancakes and their pancakes were only okay. My main dish was of of their omelettes and it was very good and filling. Large portion sizes.

Kerbey Lane is an Austin classic. The menu is eclectic, the service good and environment is welcoming. Thus is always seems to be busy. This an excellent brunch choice.

Kerbey Lane has several locations now; they only had one back when I was a student at UT. Most of the newer locations are fairly bland and do not have the soul of the original location. This one is at least broken up into smaller eating areas that offer a hint of a smaller place. We tried the blueberry and the gingerbread pancakes; they were good but nothing really special. The egg dishes are fairly run of the mill. Service was somewhat spotty and there was not the usual server/customer banter that exists in many Austin restaurants (and at their other locations). Hint #1: For a mix of savory and sweet, try the sweet potato and jalapeño sausage hash - unique and delicious! Hint #2: This is in your typical strip center; there is plenty of parking and the restaurant is wheelchair accessible.

Everything tasted top notch. Food tasted very fresh. Wife got breakfest and I got dinner. Both very good. Sweet potato fries were amazing. I would recommend the kerby queso.

Stopped here for breakfast during sxsw. Staff were lovely and chilled out. The menu was great, there was a lot of variety and a good vibe. Would definitely visit again.

My wife and I had brunch here on a Friday while visiting Austin. This was by far my favorite breakfast place while visiting Austin. The food and service were excellent. I saw a bowl of queso travel by my table while the waiter was taking our order and made a comment how good that it looked. He later brought a small bowl with chips for me and my wife to eat. Was actually great with my breakfast tacos. My wife had some sort of specialty pancake. Looked amazing but not sure how it tasted as she demolished every single bite. Everything that came by our table looked good.

The menu keeps changing and not necessarily for the better. Portion sizes have gotten smaller, for some dishes this is good, but some are too small with the prime item being too small. The omelets were a bit smaller and lacked seasoning. We have not been to Kerbey Lane for a while and it will be a while before we go back.

I had the Vegan platter. I substitute the Apple Whole wheat pancakes (not vegan!) for the vegan pancakes, and add a side of the vegan queso. The vegan queso adds a nice tasty, slightly spicy touch. A big, tasty and filling breakfast. I only come here occasionally and it is always great.

My friend brought me here because it is one of her favorite places, and now I know why! We came for breakfast, and I was surprised by the huge menu selection for all types of food. Breakfast is served all day, which is a plus. My friend went with sweet and I went with savory, and we were both highly satisfied with our food. The service was also great! This is a place I will definitely return to!

We went as a family with 2 small kids. The crayons weren't great but the service and food were! We have been here several times and like the choices for special diets.

I eat here about once per week because I love the pancakes, chips, and queso. The atmosphere is informal. It’s open 24/7. you can get breakfast or dinner ranging from burgers to seafood. There’s something for everyone including coffee, beer, & liquor. It’s dog friendly. The staff at this location Are usually attentive, friendly, polite, get the orders right, and try to personalize the experience as we are regular customers. They also incorporate the use of technology to make the check out process faster. The cons are they are almost always busy, the concrete floors make it loud, Sean yells “corner!!!” About 12 times per hour, and you hear all the other tables conversations because the tables are so close.

This is a restaurant which serves Tex-Mex food including breakfast all through the day. I had a Margarita along with the Luciano’s breakfast which included avocados and was quite pleased with the fare. The service too was efficient and friendly. Would recommend.

Met a dear friend her for breakfast. I had an omelet that was lackluster, hardly any contents and nothing on the top of it. The presentation was pathetic. I choose the pancakes for an upcharge but I didn't get anything else and the breakfast was $13.00. Pancakes were dry and nothing inspiring. Used to love this place, quality is certainly not what it used to be.

Kerbey Lane never disappoints, especially if you're seeking breakfast or vegan options. Their omlettes, Good Seed burgers, and daily vegan pancake selections are great and so is the coffee. Nabil's Mideast Feast is a reliable choice as well. Recommended day or night spot.

This cafe is an awesome place to get good coffee, food that is NOT processed and an atmosphere that is most pleasant. Their weekly specials are good, too. At this time they are having cherry walnut pancakes as a specialty for breakfast. There are 3 locations in Austin and each are equally friendly to visit. It's a good time to start feeding your body good food for a healthier life!!

This location does not seem to get as crowded as the others, but the quality of the food was the same - very fresh and tasty. There are also a lot of vegetarian choices.

First off I love this place and will continue to go. Dont go here if you want to get in and out quickly, I've never done this. I cant say the service is horrible just slow, but normally pretty nice. I love the atmosphere of a local restaurant with good roots. I love their Kerby Queso(a must have), and their chicken tortilla soup. Overall I just love their food though, and a great place to take your time and eat and talk with friends/family.

Fun people watching...we sat at the counter! Food is ok...big portions but pretty basic. Higher prices which surprised us given it wasn't some funky concept place! That said...good luck finding a decent breakfast joint downtown!!!

Can't imagine why this place is so popular. The food was undercooked and cold. Restaurant is not clean. And they let people bring their pets onto the patio. Is that okay with the health department?

Our party of three truly enjoyed our meal and received great service from Anthony. KERBEY does not take reservations, so be forewarned. After our 45 minute wait to be seated, we were promptly asked for our drink orders, were served quickly, and our food order arrived shortly thereafter. The blueberry pancakes, bacon-wrapped meatloaf (with tomato chipotle gravy?), Kerbey queso, and chicken-fried steak were ALL tasty. The biscuit was hard, but the cream gravy delicious. The "fresh-squeezed orange juice" tasted like it was made from concentrate. Overall, we had a satisfying meal and will surely return--though maybe not for Sunday lunch.

We make it a point to have breakfast at this Kerbey lane café on our way out of Austin after seeing the grandkids. Good food, good service

My in-laws and husband and I ate here recently and we were very disappointed. The food was average and in my case arrived lukewarm. Two of us had the chilaquiles and found that they were mostly tortilla strips, with the rest of the ingredients kind of haphazardly thrown on the plate. Their food arrived warmish. I had the gingerbread pancake, which was so lukewarm it would not even melt butter. The Denver omelette was good. The cappuccino was good. The service was awful. Our waiter acted like she was doing us a favor by waiting on us. She never checked in to see how we were doing, and never cracked a smile or even greeted us. Sometimes she brought food to the table without saying anything. At the end of the meal she presented us with the check and told us we could add whatever percentage of tip we wanted. She just stood there waiting for us to add the top. We didn’t even have a chance to discuss it as a group. This made us very uncomfortable. We were embarrassed, as we had told our in-laws (from out of town) that Kerbey Lane was a great place to eat. Boy, were we wrong. I guess we will have to go to the original location to get good food and good service.

We went to the Northwest location the night before Thanksgiving. Kerbey Lane was very busy, but we had only a short wait for a table for 3. Very friendly wait staff, eager to explain any dish on the menu. Gave us plenty of time to look over the menu and was very quick getting our drink order back to us. Who can resist a $3.50 glass of house wine. Lots of different things on the menu, meat eaters and vegetarian alike can find many items on the menu to choose from. The menu includes breakfast thru dinner items all day long. We placed our order and everything was delivered quickly and as we order it, even with deletes and adds to several dishes we asked for.

My family and I love Kerbey Lane and have enjoyed meals at many of their locations for years. I visited the Research location for lunch with a friend this week. It's popularity is evident when you have to wait 30 minutes to be seated. Our server, Eric, was friendly and attentive. Everything I've eaten at Kerbey Lane has been delicious so I ordered the recommended Fried Green Tomatoes Eggs Benedict. It was excellent but the portion was small for (what I considered to be) an expensive price for an English muffin, eggs and two tomatoes. The restaurant is incredibly noisy and conversations seem amplifiedin the space.

We went on a girls trip. We read the reviews and went. All of our pancakes were dry even with the swirl. We ordered gingerbread, Apple, and peach. Between all of us we had each flavor with and without the swirl. It wasn't busy and it too a while to get our food. The service was great. Very nice people working there.

Unique breakfast selections in a casual atmosphere. Nice patio, service was good and food was great. A couple could spit a meal and have plenty to eat. Eggs Francisco had amazing flavor and the queso really made it happen.

In Austin on a business trip. Locals all raved about Kerbey Lane for breakfast. Yes, the food was average diner quality, the options great since they obviously make an effort to accommodate modern tastes. But the location... well, it's a diner. It's dated, loud and possibly not totally clean. I had to wipe down my water glass and coffee cup. But the omelet was great and the service fantastic. So, long story short, I would return. But if this is the best Austin has to offer, I'm confused and concerned.

Outstanding breakfast, worth the wait, pancakes are the best I have ever had and overall experience was 10+

Friendly service, large portions and interesting selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings. Bare-bones decor coupled with average food (dry home fries, cardboard-style sausage, lukewarm food on arrival at table etc) earned this place no better than 3 stars. Still it's quite popular....on a Sunday we were told there would be a 25-30 minute wait for a table.

We had a 20 minute wait, which may have been a bit less. Britanny took care of us in such a nice way, that it was all so enjoyably perfect. We had pancakes, tacos, migas, and omellettes. Everything was great, not too big, not too little. Home fries were delish, and everything came out as requested. You wont go hungry! Great choice!

We visited Kerbey Lane for lunch and had a great time. I enjoyed the fried avocado tacos with refried black beans. I also substituted sliced brussels sprouts for the rice and found them to be delicious. Our service was very good and the food came quickly. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. Kerbey Lane has a 24 hour menu, delicious breakfasts, also salads, sandwiches, tex-mex favorites and comfort food dinner entrees. They sport vegan and vegetarian options as well.

We stopped here as soon as we arrived in town to grab a bite to eat before we checked out the rest of Austin. They have a large selection was something for everyone, our server was very friendly and the food was amazing. They have a nice covered patio area and several local brews to choose from.

After an awful stay at a roach motel with a laughable breakfast, we stopped here on our way out of town. I am so glad we did. At first we thought we'd just grab something to go, but after looking at the menu we decided to stay. Our server, Shay, did a wonderful job. Her cheerful attitude was very refreshing and energizing. The food was great too. My husband had the Breakfast Platter and I had the short stack. And when we were ready to go, Shay offered us to go cups for coffee and water. The prices were reasonable and everything seemed to be running smoothly. The next time we are in the area we will make sure to stop in to grab some tasty food.

I have been to most all of the Kirby Lane Cafe locations and for the most part they are "ok". Always a wait(so it looks like most people really like it), food is average, usually not very hot, and servers always seem rushed and unable to refill coffee/tea etc. I think it is overpriced for breakfast, particularly since food is average at best.

Best non-processed food, great coffee, friendly atmosphere, dog-friendly (outside patio), good service. The pancakes are HUGE!! My grandkids enjoy eating there, too. They stay busy at all 3 locations in Austin. Be sure to stop by one of them during the holiday season.

I had heard nothing but great things about this place and I am sad to say I cannot share in the enthusiasm. The concept of fresh local food is great, but it takes more than a good idea to pull off a great restaurant. We ordered soft scrambled eggs, but we were served very hard cooked scrambled eggs. Our waitress asked if we wanted cheese on our eggs but neglected to mention that was an extra fee. Two kids in our group ordered a kids sampler breakfast and substituted sausage for bacon and again we were not informed that was an additional fee to sub the meat. They had gluten free pancakes that were good but they don't have real maple syrup. It makes no sense to not at least offer real maple syrup at this restaurant. We would have been happy to pay extra for real maple instead of the gross corn syrup junk they provided. The service was okay. They only had those tiny half and half containers that are totally annoying and it took ages to find our server to request more when we got coffee refills. Overall, this place really disappointed me. I probably would not go back again.

Just visited Kirby's latest addition in South Austin with family for lunch. The food and service were very good. Generous portions and great selection of seasonal dishes--everything from Mexican to Mediterranean to just comfort food. Open at all hours for early or late diners. Breakfasts, especially pancakes), are legendary. We have frequented these restaurants for years and never disappointed...except for the long waits for weekend breakfasts! Recommend without reservation for good food and reasonable prices.

No one needs reviews of Kerbey Lane, a local fave, with hordes of happy customers. You don't go for the food, you go because it's there, and because you can always get breakfast. The Keep Austin Weird vibe is strong here. That being said, spend some time studying the interesting menu. The food doesn't live up to it, but you'll enjoy reading. Still beats IHOP.

The food is great, you have to be patient on Sat/Sun, sometimes the three girls up front don't understand the waiting list app, but if you can wait 45 min it is probably worth it.. Advice- Staff should use a big chief tablet, so empty tables can get filled faster..

We have an extended family dinner with everyone selecting something different, everything from salads to pancakes to vegitarian to kid's menus. I think everyone was pleased with their selections. Two of our group went with the vegitarian type meals, I had the pumpkin pancakes but I really do not consider that to be a strictly vegitarian meal (they were large and good - ask for a little extra butter and syrup). My wife had the Greek Chicken, which was going to be my second choice which she enjoyed, except the pita bread slices were too dry. The hummus and green dips were good. The salad looked great and it was large. The vegitarian BBQ was interesting with BBQ flavor but my one sample forkfull seemed to have a little too much rice?? mixed into the BBQ. Apparently the vegitarian hamburger was good as it was totally finished. Kid's meals were good sized for them and the taco and mac&cheese seemed to please them. This was my first Kerbey Lane visit. I think it looked like a great spot for some huge breakfasts so hopefully that will be in the near future. Service was good and with 8 people ordering different things and with two very young kids they did a great job keeping out table going.

Kerbey Lane is a go to for good informal food. The location is accessible and the menu offers a wide range of options. Today we had breakfast and lunch options. They always seem to be very busy.

French Toast is Amazing, Pancakes are their specialty, Migas is also exceptional. I've been to most of their locations but this is my favourite one. Stay clear of the vegan stuff unless you're hard core vegan, the regular stuff is better. Queso is also delicious and they're open 24 hours! I love this place!

I love eating at Kirby lane, and try to make it there anytime I'm in Austin. All their meals are good, but brunch is my favorite. Their gingerbread pancakes are outstanding! And the omelettes are very good too. It's hard to think of a place that is "more Austin." Great food & cool place. Parking may seem hard, but just go up towards 38th and you can almost always find street parking without a problem.

Great food with an ecclectic menu for breakfast fare. Food was amazing and the corned beef hash was quite delicious. Service was average but it was a holiday so no complaint there. This is a good place to go for simple easy eats

Good food, good service. Food was a bit pricey and a bit higher than similar restaurants. Beer choices may be their saving grace.

We really wanted to eat at this place because of the good reviews both on this site and others. We wen there during the Austin water crisis/shortage. This place could not handle this problem, no bottled water even, no soda, even in cans all they had to drink was juice. When we heard this we started calling other places in the same complex, and surprise, they all had bottled water for free and sodas in cans. This place couldn't be bothered to do the same for its guests either on purpose or because it simply cant execute. That said, we left and went somewhere else. The place we went to had a nearly full menu but had bottled water and even soda and a nice attitude on behalf of its customers. This place could not be bothered to do the same.

As Austin is changing rapidly, Kerbey Lane is doing its part to keep its old spirit alive, representing what could be described as a sub-culture in culinary Austin. Fine for families but please be advised that you could have a long wait (1hr) if not booked through mobile app.

First time to this location and it did not disappoint. Komen Race for the Cure day presented a bit of a wait, but well worth it and Kerbey is dog friendly...the patio was perfect.

We found Kerbey Lane Cafe on accident, because we were actually looking for Cheddar's restaurant, but found that they were closed (it was before 11am). We drove through the shopping center and saw Kerbey Lane cafe. The place was packed (as it always is), but we were seated rather quickly. I had the breakfast platter which was pretty good, and boyfriend had the eggs Francisco, which he loved. Service was attentive and quick for as busy as it was. The other times we have been there, it was always packed with people. One time, we didn't even bother because we were told it would be a 45 minute wait for a table. The food is great though.

We figured out by the size of the entrees Kerbey Lane must be specializing in serving GIANTS- who eats that much ?Even the salad was massive !!! Appreciate the gluten free bread option and the natural food element of the cafe .The large menu and the all day breakfast options makes this a well worthwhile stop .On each of our different visits I not only remark on the size of the menu but also the interesting variety . Unfortunately one of our female family members usually orders the shepherds pie forgetting its rather TOO spicy for their taste . Maybe a spice warning on the side of the menu would warn off the any oncoming bland eaters. This visit we sat out on the patio so my dog could join us - -yes it is dog friendly .Great service by J.C. till hail came down and forced us inside .We'll be back-maybe well bring some Sumo wrestlers with us !!!

The Kerbey Lane restaurants are all very good for the food--the menus are similar, but not exactly the same. We like that we can get a good meal at any one of them--safe choice when in a new area in Austin. The service is always good. There is an "Austin weird" element here, but that is to be expected. People watching is an art form here! Parking is ample at this location--which is not the case at all of the locations!

Enjoyed a farewell breakfast at a local hot spot before returning home to Virginia. Vibrant restaurant, crowded, but fortunately, we beat the brunch rush. Large menu with more options than we could eat, we chose the breakfast platter, crispy chicken benedict (I only got a small taste - delicious! ) and biscuits and gravy with a side of sausage. Rib-sticking food, really nicely prepared, and served with a smile by Enola and a series of other waitstaff. Must visit!

I stopped in here with a bunch of friends for a lunch to chat. We sat out on the patio which was a nice change. I was just the right temperature and not freezing my butt off like I normally am inside of a restaurant. The service started off a little slow but picked up. I ordered the Kerby Lane Kickstarter off the fall menu. This deliciousness came with Pederson's jalapeno sausage*, scrambled eggs*, avocado, marble rye toast. Spring mix salad, cherry tomatoes, orange vinaigrette, toasted pumpkin seeds, strawberry slices. My marble rye toast was a little late to the table. Better late than never I would say? Ok well I know I can't take credit for that saying and probably wouldn't say that. Way to positive! My shirt I wore out said, Suck it up Buttercup. Which is more of my philosophy and more fitting to the situation. Anyway, my eggs came a little on the lukewarm side but I know that keeping eggs piping hot is a challenge when you have a larger group. Overall, I really enjoy this Austin iconic restarunt and can't wait to come back again.

Wow. So much has changed. Loved this place for decades but not so much anymore. Breakfast for both my wife and I was just so-so. My eggs were cold. Her eggs were runny (not cooked per order as was promised). Wait staff had a bit of attitude (they appeared bothered we were eating there and clique-ish). I miss the true heart of what this place used to be. Own up to your service, quality and origins.

This place is unique, service was great, and food was delicious! The waitress recommended the Fried Chicken Benedict and it was absolutely delicious. I have never had such a wonderful combination of flavors.

Hipster place with a great vibe. The menu is extensive and everything is good. Loved the lemon poppy seed pancakes. They have a separate menu that outlines several dishes made with local farm product. Loved it!

Well, been here a number of times before. Today was not the best. Pancakes were dry and crumbly, turkey sandwich was ok, Cobb salad was average at best. Service was very good except got the wrong syrup.

Went for brunch and there was quite a lot of people waiting. Luckily we found two seats at the bar. With everyone waiting, you’d think this was something special; good, not great. I had the Texas Benedict. The steak was a tad tough and the flavor was adequate. The cornbread is a bit heavy for this meal, the eggs were a bit over cooked but acceptable. The Hollandaise was kind of odd; not what I I’d consider anything close to a real Hollandaise and more like a gravy. The potatoes were pretty good but needed something more in the flavor department. My wife had the eggs Francisco and ditto on the Hollandaise although the bacon was very good. As was the coffee. Our sever at the bar area (Steven) was excellent and friendly. I also had to try a single cinnamon pancake. It was just decent but I did not detect any cinnamon. The cinnamon pancakes I’ve tried in the past at a restaurant in Colorado Sprints (Over Easy) are to die for and this version pails in comparison. So while the food was good and not great, I can’t recommend waiting in line and maybe there are better breakfast joints in the Austin area.

If you are looking for the BEST pancakes in Austin, this is your place! Every day there are pancake flavor specials, including Vegan and regular pancakes. I would highly recommend the Lemon Poppy Seed pancakes. Also, the regular menu has lots of vegan, vegetarian and regular options. Something delicious for everyone!

A five star review is an understatement. Starting with a friendly smiling face from the hostess to a great experienced server. I was having the worst time finding a desert to bring home to my elderly mother. I had tried for 2 hrs at every place in round rock including Dennys,IHOP,Cracker Barrel...ect ect. Everyone kept trying to sell me on a desert that I would have to cook for around 2 hrs and serve in a square tin.(Not very exciting) I then see Kerby lane and they were able to save the day with an apple pie. The server was not able to locate the pie in the cooler but was determined. After around 10 min my server returned with the pie. This is what i call dedication and true work ethic. If you want great food from real people this is the spot. They have locations all over which are all worth the drive. A huge thank you to my server Dylan

I have heard for many years that pancakes from Kerbey Lane are legendary, and I found it to be true. The buttermilk pancakes were awesome. My husband and I were there on a Sunday around 11:30, so it was kind of a brunch. He had the enchiladas, and I shared his chips and queso. It was pretty crowded, and there was a long wait, but it was all worth it.

I spend a lot of time in Austin, and I just can't skip this place. I love their seasonal menus and fresh food. This time I tried the Chicken Benedict, and it was decadent and delicious. They nailed the Salsa Verde and flavor combinations. Last time i tried their bacon pancakes, which were heavenly. Parking is a pain, but you can bring your pup. Great food and atmosphere, along with a consistently great staff, makes this my go-to breakfast spot .

Ordered fish tacos and fiancé ordered turkey and avocado sandwich with bacon. Both were delicious! My only complaint is that no one came out to serve us after we were seated by the hostess. We chatted. My fiancé took a restroom break, and while he was gone a server came by with a trainee to assist another table. After my fiancé returned from his restroom break, I left for a restroom break. We chatted a little more. I ended up asking for someone to assist us - to get our drink orders. I've been to Kerbey Lane before - a different location - and service was on point. Hoping this was just a simple case of either oversight or miscommunication. Everything else was great!!

Service was extremely slow and all our meals were bland and small portions than what we normally get at other locations. Will never be back here

Enjoying an incredible meal with family at the new location. Staff was great, food came fast and hot. Flavors to amaze and fantastic coffee

Stopped in to try breakfast - heard a lot about the pancakes. Place was packed- 30 minute wait. Found seat at bar - had a delicious Bloody Mary while waiting for food. Pancakes were very good - went basic with buttermilk Good place

Delicious food---including excellent GF options---and a charming patio. Server was excellent, as well, offering wonderful recommendations and being very attentive and charming.

My wife and I stopped in for dinner after church. My wife had Buttermilk Pancakes...perhaps the best pancakes. I had the Crab & Mac Benny (Eggs Benedict). Perfectly poached egg with Hollandaise sauce, Mac&Cheese bites drizzled with achiote sauce sitting on top of a crab cake. This concerto played well on the palette with three movements. The creamy presentation from the poached eggs danced with the tangy jubilation of the sauces. The crab and Mac made surprise entrance with both their texture and strong performance. The encore came once the savory experience came to a close. The home fries seaoned to perfection and roasted to a crisp provided ample absorption for the Hollandaise and Achiote sauces. Our server was new and she was surprised by an experienced server but she needed little support. It is good to see staff properly training and supervising new staff since service can influence the overall experience.

We were just taking a weekend getaway in Austin and wanted a decent breakfast. My wife saw this place online and as usual I was skeptical, but upon getting in the building we the staff smiles and the HUGE pancakes surprised the heck outta me. We will DEFINITELY visit this great place on our next trip in the area. Try it people.

Stopped by for lunch and had a free chili con queso, blackened fish tacos, rice, refried beans, and a beer. The queso was touch above average and the rice and beans were both above average. The fish tacos were disappointing and average at best. Overall a satisfactory lunch but the texture of the fish was a bit stringy and the flavor was rather bland. One of the lessor lunches I have had at this restaurant.

Gingerbread pancakes are a must! If you can't "catch" it at the restaurant due to long lines (busy/popular location), you can also purchase the mix at the grocers (HEB or Whole Foods).

Very eclectic yet down home cooking little hole in the wall resteraunt! Love the mimosas as well! It's a must to have breakfast here! Beware the wait for our little family of 5 was 30-40 min!

There is a Kerbey Lane near you if you live in Austin, Texas. They are different in layout, but alike in menu and systems. This one is good and always crowded.

Be aware there is always a wait here. However you can walk up to the counter if you don't mind a more community feel. The food is delicious and the bartenders are speedy and make some delicious drinks. The boyfriend loved his bloody mary and my eggs francisco was worth coming back for! The prices were reasonable compared with the area.

Have had brunch twice in past two months with groups of family. Good Food and service both times. Enjoyed by all of us from 4 yrs thru those of us in our 60's. Kids (all ages) love the pancakes (esp. Gingerbreads). I myself favor the Eggs Francisco. Amongst us we have tried most of the breakfast plates. The Smoked Salmon Benedict is really good, as are all of the Benedicts. Fluffy biscuits and well-executed eggs cooked exactly as ordered round out the experience. Happy to see that the newer branches of the Kerbey chain live up to the traditions of the funky little house on Kerbey Lane we loved over 30 years ago. Very Kid Friendly, Too!

My daughter has taken me here twice now and each time it has been great. Love the Kerbey Queso its a must get item. The first time I got the Black Angus Bacon Cheeseburger it was very good and everyone else got some type of breakfast food and enjoyed it. On this day April 21, 2016 of course we got the Kerbey Queso and my parents loved it my mother and daughter got the blueberry pancakes and they loved them, I shared French Toast with my father and we loved them. Loved our waiter John Perez. Service and Food has always been excellent. Everyone must visit this place at least once in their life.

Great cafe. Great food. Great hangs. Highly recommend the oatmeal, fruit, and gluten-free pumpkin pancake (in the fall).

So queso and pancakes are not a typical combo but those are the best things at this restaurant. But really everything is good here. This location lacks some of the ambiance of the more central locations but is also a lot faster to be seated. If you're a Costco member pickup some pancake mix there in Austin to take home. It's only $7.59 for a four lb bag!
Could very well be an extension of your home
This is one of the places that when you walk in it is like entering your own kitchen. The environment is just plain comfortable and everyone is so welcoming. The food and services never disappoints. The banana nut french toast with two eggs over easy and bacon really hit the spot this morning!
