We visit Austin several times per year. Sunday mornings are always reserved for brunch at Kerbey Lane Cafe on South Lamar. For over 15 years this has been the plan so I guess it is now a tradition, and a good one at that. Food for Vegans and regular Texans as well. Decent prices, good service and really good food of all kinds.

Kerbey Lane Cafe is one of the offshoots from the original Omelettry (which spawned both Kerbey Lane and Magnolia Cafes). Well-known for its pancakes, Kerbey Lane also has a wide variety of food to please most tastebuds. There are six locations across Austin, so you aren't far from a Cafe when the mood to eat strikes. Lest you look forward to a meal at Kerbey Lane and discover its HUGE popularity when you arrive at the height of breakfast hours on the weekend and have an hour+ wait, Kerbey Lane uses the "NoWait" app to get on the "list" and avoid having to watch others eat through the windows while your stomach growls.

My first visit to the south location — I would return! — bright and open, and also with a wide menu that I loved and knew for years in Guadalupe. The Kerbey Queso remains delicious and my guest and I split the lemon poppyseed pancakes (almost like a dessert). Austin comfort food.

We stopped by Kerbey Lane for breakfast on the first day of our vacation in Austin as we'd previously been there late night and remembered it being good (as much as you can remember a 3am stop at a diner, anyway...). We were not disappointed - I had the chilaquiles and it was honestly one of the best breakfasts I've had in years. We made a return visit a week or so later for lunch and I had the fried chicken spaghetti - again, delicious and a huge portion. The staff are always friendly, fast and efficient and we'd be happy to return again next time we're in Austin.

Good stuff, fresh ingredients, creative tex mex and americana dishes. This location is always packed, and seating is a little packed so you'll be a few feet away from the next table.

My wife and I stopped here to try something different for us. The lunch crowd was big on a Tuesday. The menu has some good looking items. My wife and I both settled on some "seasonal" items. We were each very pleased with our selections. Sitting on the patio during lunch was not the best choice but still tolerable. Good place.

We went here late one evening. The menu is huge. Everyone ordered something different and every dish was delicious (if not particularly healthy). Kerbey Queso is famous and it lives up to the hype. The green chile mac & cheese is also delicious.

We went here for brunch and it was fun. They have a pancake of the week which is kind of a fun idea. I tried the fried green tomatoes, which were crispy and tasty. I also tried the lemon poppyseed pancake, it was a little dry, but had a good flavor. It was a little to sweet for my taste. I also had the biscuits and gravy, which I cleaned my plate. I prefer the mom and pop places but it wasn't bad or expensive.

This review is a long time coming. I was here the day after thanksgiving with my mom, sister and girlfriend. I’ve been here before and I really enjoyed the food so I wanted to bring my family here who was visiting from Chicago. Well we all ordered are food and we kept saying it ls taking a long time to get our food. Everyone near us was getting their food and ours wasn’t coming out. After a lengthy wait we got our food and it was cold. Everyone’s food was cold. Well we told the waiter and he got the manager. Manager apologized to us and offered to remake everyone’s food for us but we were strapped for time and had already waited a long time to get this food. So we said no but thank you for the offer. We were all a little disappointed but we know accidents happen. We just wanted to let them know so it doesn’t happen to someone else. Well before we left the manager apologized to us again and he did make things right and for that we were really grateful for that. Had he not it would’ve been my last time there for sure. I understand restaurants get busy especially the day after thanksgiving. The way they treated us we will forever be happy with that.

What a disappointment. We are two dudes and a mutt driving cross-country from New York to San Francisco. We made sure to stop at popular eateries across the homeland. En route to San Antonio we decided to stop in Austin to check out all the fuss about Kerbey Lane Cafe. We called ahead to get details on locations in Austin. Accordingly they have 6 (although only 2 are listed in Trip Adviser as if this review). Based on our location we were advised to head out to the Guadalupe Street location (UT campus) since it was the closest to where we were, near the interstate. I ordered chicken fried steak (mind you we have been salivating over this cherished dish for over 400 miles that day) and my travel buddy opted for the macaroni and cheese with fried chicken strips. And a round of lone star beer to tie us over. Sadly to our great disappointment, after what seem like a 15-minute wait our server returned to our table to announce the bad news - "We are out of chicken fried steak." Really?Mind you this was around 530 on a Sunday. The place was not too crowded and dinner patrons were starting to pour in. What a disappointment that was. And a big let down. A so called 'famed' Austin institution did not have available, an equally famed staple of Texas. The alternate was fried chicken - it was bland, greasy, unappetizing and a very small portion (see pic). My friend's mac and cheese dish had a vinegary flavor. A bit stingy on the cheese. Missing was the traditional oozy-cheesy texture. Overall a big disappointment.

We were in town for a wedding and a friend recommended this location for breakfast. Six of us ventured out on a Saturday morning. Two weeks later and we're all STILL talking about what a great place it was! We all ordered something different and everyone was absolutely happy with their choices. I had the migas with the verde sauce and it was outstanding! Our server was engaging and fun and very efficient. Go hungry! Serving portions are Texas sized! Go early! There was quite a crowd waiting to be seated when we left around 10 a.m.

My wife and I visited Kerbey Lane for brunch based on the recommendation of my daughter. I think I could go back daily. I had migas, they would have been incredible on their own, but when you add the queso, they are INCREDIBLE! The pumpkin bread french toast was also amazing. My wife had the Texas Benedict, steak and egg on a biscuit, also delicious. Service was great. Wonderful Austin atmosphere.

Went on a busy Sunday morning. Waited about 20 minutes for a table (but we knew the situation before we arrived. We were texted when our table was ready. (Neat idea!) They specialize in breakfast/brunch. Took a while to sort through all of the enticing options. I had a Texas (local interpretation of dishes) Benedict with ham. Yummy! The kids were satisfied, as were the other adults. Only suggestion would be to put thermal carafes of coffee on table – server was busy and did not revisit for refills as quickly as I want to top off.

Farm to table breakfast. It is great to be able to get dairy-free pancakes at a breakfast restaurant! They also have a selection of lunch and dinner items.

Kerby Lane is a very popular diner chain in Austin that primarily serves breakfast but they also offer lunch/dinner options. The place is usually full in the morning, so you might want to expect a 10-15min wait. The foods are all classic American and consistent with every visit. This is a austin-like place but you won’t be expecting anything unusual with any of them. Recommend the hot chocolate!

7 of us for lunch including 3 teens. Waiter was very good. We're on a short time frame. Orders put in and everything came our right. Queso is a hallmark so try one order for the table. I had the Frito Pie which could have had more chili and less Fritos but was tasty. Our second visit and we'll go back.

When in Austin this is one of our standard stops. Always get a bowl of Kerbey queso. I recommend to also order off their seasonal menu. Always excellent choices. Recently had their summer chicken with roasted asparagus and loaded mashed potatoes and well nothing was left on my plate. Yum!

This is a great place for breakfast, the greeter was extremely friendly and the food was very good. There are a lot of delicious and healthy options at this restaurant. The restaurant is a bit crowded and my server was satisfactory. Overall, it was a good experience.

We used to live in Austin and would enjoy Kerbey Lane Cafe at it's previous location on S. Lamar. They always had funky waiters and really good food. When back in Austin for the 2014 Christmas holidays, we found the new location - and were very disappointed. We ordered Migas, and found them little more than watery scrambled eggs among a plate of beans. With the new, polished decor (and several additional locations), it seems they are trying to go hipster-franchise (if such a thing makes sense) and are losing everything that made it special. Our advice is to head to the Magnolia Cafe don't look back. We found they still have great Migas.

This morning my wife and I visited this Kerbey Lane location for breakfast. I ordered the Paris Texas platter and substituted the included french toast for the pancake special which was cinnamon peach. My wife ordered the eggs francisco. The migas platter portion of the Paris Texas breakfast was AWESOME, however, I was disappointed in my pancakes because they had very little peach and next to no cinnamon. My wife was very satisfied with her breakfast. As I have said in other Kerbey Lane Cafe reviews...when you are in ATX you must dine here.

Great spot for breakfast. Terrific menu. Nice variety. Great food. Good service. Very popular - it gets crowded, so be mindful.

This was our first time to eat at a Kerbey's cafe. Our daughter highly recommended it. We were there for a late lunch. Our waiter was quick and attentive and made several suggestions. We tried the pulled pork which was tender and flavorful. The mc and cheese was good, but based on our waiter's suggestion I expected great. Pancake were great, diced potatoes average, corn chowder spicy. We enjoyed the lunch but I'm not sure we would go back.

The food is tasty and well-prepared with an eye toward organics and local sourcing. Somewhat interestingly imaginative but not outlandish. Unfortunately the place is unreliable for the gluten-sensitive.

Kerbey continues to be an Austin's classic. There are several locations. Try Guadalupe is you like the student ambience, or South Lamar for a more mature crowd. The have several vegan options too. Its a must in town.

Migas played is always a star. Pancakes are great too. Always good service, great ambience is great, 24 hours is awesome

Brunch is our favorite time to go. They are usually really busy, but the staff has always been really great.

It was truly delicious from the pancakes all the way to the omelette. Plenty food. Friendly place. Nice decoration. Great anytime. I won’t be giving it 5 stars because it took a long time to be serve from the moment we order to the moment they serve us. But is great overall and good in a budget.

Service: 5 Star Friendly, warm and welcoming (much like all of Austin), the Kerbey crew were attentive and quick to get our orders under way. I’m not a local, so I appreciated a tip here and there about what tasted good… and they weren’t wrong. Food: 4.5 Star After a few days of meat, spice and more meat, I was happy to sink my teeth into a vego-friendly dish. I’m still craving the melt-in-your-mouth taste of their fried avocado tacos half a world away… I know what you’re thinking, frying avocado is a bit weird, but you need to try it once at least. You’ll be back for more. Drink Tip: Iced hibiscus mint tea. Entrée Tip: Order the queso. It’s edible and a must breakfast, lunch and dinner. Or if you're skint and need somewhere fun to take a date. Dessert Tip: Their gingerbread pancakes are like childhood, Christmas and my favourite breakfast-as-dinner meal rolled into a wondrous, delicious creation. I miss them. Would I return again? Yes. Should you check it out? Yes. Do they deserve generous tips and a little patience when things are busy? Yes.

In Austin for the week, I asked my friend to meet me at Kerbey Lane. She has lived in Austin all her life but never been to Kerbey Lane!!! I told her how good the “Dave’s Enchiladas” are and that is what she ordered. She really loved them! I wanted breakfast and ordered the French Toast combo with scrambled eggs and turkey sausage. I was disappointed by what the kitchen sent out. The sausage was room temperature which seemed odd, but the serious disappointment was that all the French toast was burnt on one side, the side not showing when delivered! I don’t mean a little dark brown on a corner, I mean burnt incapable of cutting and undesirable to eat! The kitchen should have never served that French toast. I got replacement toast that was perfect! Our waiter DJ was great! I am sure I will go back- And have the enchiladas!!!

Kerbey Lane is an Austin institution. It has sort of a diner menu and feel, great for families or friends. This new location has great decor too. There will always be a wait for breakfast/brunch on the weekends but it moves pretty quickly!

Highly recommend this restaurant. I went here for lunch and found the food very good. Great Southern cooking. I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak with Collard Greens and Mashed potatoes. All made fresh. My friend had the pumpkin pancakes which were excellent. Service was great and diner has a great casual atmosphere.

Clean, friendly environment which caters to all, even those with food issues. I have severe food allergies to mammal meat and dairy, and was able to enjoy a vegan made-in-house-from-scratch "burger" that was simply amazing in both presentation and taste!. Highly recommend!

I have reviewed this place several times: come here often. I have a new name for the place: Pepper Lane. Why? Almost everything on the menu that isn't a pancake has peppers in it. I shouldn't eat peppers of any kind. They had a salad on the menu that I really liked: ordered it and they had added pepper to it in a major way, and hadn't changed the menu description. I sent it back. This trip, I got a burger without the green chiles but they brought me mayo for it that was packed full of peppers. Hmmff! The burger came with a fried egg on top. Tasty, but the bun fell apart: if it had been toasted or better bread, it would have held up to the runny egg better. Knowing how messy it is, it would have been great if they had started me out with at least 3 napkins. My husband got the fried avocado benedict. The home fries were really bland and tasteless. The menu has shrunk and we walk away a little too often feeling that it used to be better. We like their hours. We just want them to maintain the quality that we have enjoyed for 30+ years!

A decent seasonal menu always adds a variety here, among the decent standard menu. A bright, noisy, efficient place, lacking in it's former funkiness- but always a safe bet for budget conscious diners.

This is a favorite of mine and I visit about once a week. Although I'm not a vegetarian, my personal favorite is the Vegan breakfast with the vegan queso and add avacado. Seriously delicious. Ask for Mott..friendliest and most delightful server on the planet.

"It was the best breakfast I've ever had" - Dad, 82. We came with family, long term Austin residents that live in Barton Hills. The wait staff were excellent. The food was great. Migas, omelettes, pancakes, mimosas.

My husband always plays it safe at breakfast. I ordered the pozole. It was excellent. I would definitely recommend it!

The Vegan breakfast was nice, coffee was good and the service very friendly. Will be back soon to try other things on the menu, the Vegan Queso sounded nice and so many other dishes from this place elaborate menu.

I like this place and go every time I'm in town, but I'm tired of lukewarm food. Each time I hope for the best, but this last trip may have ended my enjoyment of this fun cafe. The food has great flavor and is original, too, and the service is usually first rate. But I think I'll go someplace else next time.

Had late night breakfast at Kerbey Lane - wait was pretty long but well worth it. Megas rocked - service was good considering how busy they were. Great place for that late night breakfast - will definitely go again

A friend recommended this place because it is a farm to table concept. We were here for breakfast and the Migas were really good. Price is very reasonable.

The major and important benefit is it is open 24/7. Important is a city that, surprisingly, has very few late night/early morning dining options. Food quality has, regrettably, deteriorated rapidly in recent years. All former glory is long gone. Avoid, if you can.

I got the biscuits with gravy, over easy eggs, and sausage. The gravy was a little heavy and starchy but the biscuits themselves were good. The eggs were cooked perfectly but the sausage was under cooked and I didn't finish it. I got a taco instead with bacon, egg, and cheese. The price suprised me, 4 dollars, but it was a good sized taco with tasty salsa.

The pancakes were so good. We loved the breakfast selection. Omelette was full of cheese and sausage. Prices were fair and service was on the dollar!

Had the Eggs Francisco for breakfast and it was delicious! Portions o' plenty. Coffee is piping hot (so be careful!)

Went during my week trip to Boston. There special pancake for the day was s'mores. They were amazing! Delicious chocolate pancakes with marshmellow syrup stuff on top. Yum. Other food was ok, eggs were good. Service was attentive. I'd definitely go back hopefully for more s'mores pancakes :)

The food here was amazing. They are usually very busy so plan ahead. We had a big group so we called ahead and they were able to make a table ready for us when we got there. 30 min call ahead is all they will allow. The food was fabulous! The lemon poppy seed french toast was to die for! The portions are very large and the cost is very reasonable. I highly recommend this place. All of the breakfast entrees were fabulous! The unique dishes, eclectic atmosphere, and service were outstanding. You just can't be in a hurry...The place was packed!

I went for an early lunch on a Saturday afternoon. There was a long wait but totally worth it. I ordered the vegan breakfast platter and coffee. My brother had the spicy shrimp enchiladas. We were both first timers eating here and pleased with our food. And, our server was so nice! I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Austin.

Cold pancake and potatoes were a surprise. We should have told the waiter. We ordered California omelet, a taco which was good, and a Francisco breakfast. The butter did not melt but sat on top of the pancake.

Vegan queso is the best, good heat nice balance. The vegan BBQ is also very good. Service is excellent. I would recommend this place anytime.

We just had breakfast at this fantastic place and the food was fantastic! Also the customer service was excellent!

The service was very good. Coffee available all day. Liked menu choices. Quiet. Good price's. Something for everyone….adults and children..

I love this place, all locations. Each location has outside dining available. The food is fantastic. They are famous for their pancakes. They are as big as an entire plate, so don't get a full stack. Lot's of flavors. My favorite is gingerbread. The egg dish I like is the Portobello mushroom omelet with feta cheese and pesto on top. Yum. They also have delicious fresh squeezed orange juice.

Food was absolutely delicious. I forgot what it was called but it was eggs over mediums with bacon and queso poured over top with tomato and avocado with an English muffin on bottom. It was so yummy. The potatoes were so good.. My two business partners seem to enjoy their meals as well. Every thing is farm to table. It taste like it was.. definitely can’t wait to go back..

Calling ahead doesn't guarantee your reservation will be honored. Called for 7 people and two small dogs. Upon arrival told they were closing the patio. A call from Kirby's would have been nice. One of our group had to stay in car with dogs. We were on limited time and didn't have time to move. Stayed and ate anyway.

Fun environment. I had the Greek chicken, husband had the meatloaf; both were delicious. Service was great. Reading their website, they really take care of their employees, which is admirable. We would go back!

Kerby Lane serves a decent cup of java and breakfast anytime. We had a lunch there and it was packed with a waiting line but it moved pretty quickly. It isn't the cleanest place in the world and the servers are pretty casual but for a place that the locals like and a place where you can get breakfast anytime it is okay.

Visited the other location during our last Austin visit and it was amazing! This made us super disappointed that the Lamar location turned out so bad. It was extremely hot inside (people were sweating) but we decided to overlook that and wait for a table. The table/chairs were dirty and too close together to fit comfortably (we were knocked into several times) but we also brushed that off thinking the food would make up for it. So sad to say the food was pretty gross! Soggy and un-flavorful comes to mind overall but the worst was the apple pie... Half was frozen and half was scorching hot and the apples & crust didn't even look baked. No cinnamon no ice cream on the pie but it did come with the distinct taste of onions...yuck. Anyway I'd say give the other location a try it was great!

Kerbey Lane Cafe is a true Austin place to dine. They have a variety of things to order on the menu. I chose the Citrus Steak Salad with honey chipotle roasted beets, blue cheese crumbles, roasted sunflower seeds, topped with an orange vinaigrette. The salad was very flavorful. The Akaushi steak should have been sliced much thinner. The steak was about an inch by and inch. Too tough to chew. The service was good.

Kerbey lane is always a good choice. Stopped by for queso, had great service and delicious queso! Will always return when I'm in Austin.

Our 23 yr old daughter recommended Kerbey's and we really enjoyed everything. The queso w/ avocado was fantastic with really good crispy tortilla chips. I had a great bowl of fresh corn chowder. Pancakes were perfect and you can't beat $2 mimosas. Check out their menu online, there are a lot of great choices.

Ok so you don't have to have piercings or colored hair to work here, but you won't feel out of place if you do. We go here a lot because they have great food and a great Gluten free menu. Give it a try the staff is very friendly, and it will teach you good wait staff come in a variety of sizes and colors.

Great 24 hour restaurant. Great hostess with a natural smile and very friendly, hard working waitress. Thank you!! Innovative menu with special seasonal items like fried green tomatoes with fresh red pepper sauce. It is recommended. Loved this place!

Usually eat at Kerby Lane next to UT campus when visiting, but decided to try this one on Lamar and loved it. Was a nice morning, so sat outside on the patio. Service and food were excellent. Gluten-free pancakes were delicious. They have a numerous breakfast choices - everyone in a group can find something they like.

I'd been eating chicken and biscuits all across the country on a cross country drive - their chicken Benedict was absolutely the best - narrowly beating out Atlanta. Maybe they marinate the chicken? Hollandaise was really good, biscuit low-key but good. What a great breakfast! Good espresso coffee too.

Limited hours since COVID. Austin now has very few late night/early morning dining options. Food quality has, regrettably, deteriorated rapidly in recent years. All former glory is long gone. Avoid, if you can.

French toast made with lemon poppy bread, migas and grapefruit mimosas were my favorites during my first visit. It was hard to narrow my selection from the tempting menu, so I'll return on a future trip to Austin. Casual, affordable and quick friendly service. Try the patio seating.

Basic restaurant with contemporary staff, efficient and friendly. Simple but good Mexican breakfast, in short DO try it and see for yourself

Kerbey Lane Cafe South is located in the Corners Shopping Center on South Lamar, near the intersection with Manchaca. The original Kerbey Lane opened in 1980 in a small house near 38th Street. The Corners center is a red brick multi-purpose center built in the 1980s, and it has a fair number of trees around the property. It was the first shopping center built on South Lamar since Lamar Plaza, close to the river, in the 1950s. Until about ten years ago the lower stretch of South Lamar looked pretty country, with mostly garages and used furniture stores and weedy lots and ditches. Now it’s looking more like a city boulevard, where substantial four and five story apartment buildings with ground floor retail are springing up, and sidewalks line the street. Kerbey Lane moved into the Corners from a smaller place on South Lamar when the Blockbuster Video went defunct. I’ve been eating there occasionally since it opened. This Kerbey is open 24 hours. It’s a pretty big restaurant, with three dining rooms and a patio, averaging 40-50 seats per dining room. There’s a counter with about a dozen stools, and an electric outlet for your laptop or phone at every stool. Plate glass windows stretch across the front, so every dining room feels open and airy. There’s a variety of lighting, so some tables have good light for reading and others have lower light. I walked down to Kerbey Lane for breakfast. I asked the hostess for good reading light, so I was seated at one of the little two-tops where I often sit. Audrey, my waitress, stopped by soon after I was seated and brought coffee pretty promptly. The coffee is standard good-enough restaurant coffee. It was fine. I ordered the Breakfast Platter: two eggs, two half-size pancakes, and choice of fruit, bacon, or sausage. All that comes for $7.95. I asked for bacon, eggs over medium, and extra butter for the pancakes. Kerbey Lane makes a creative adventure out of their pancakes, with new and unique flavors coming and going frequently. I chose the plain buttermilk pancakes. The food runner brought the platter out in good time, but the syrup pitcher was dripping and sticky, so he had to take it back and clean it. Also, there was only one serving of butter, so I had to ask for more. All this was corrected quickly. The eggs were done perfectly, with firm whites and very runny yellows. The pancakes were delicious. The color was a little on the dark side of brown, but there was no skin, and the texture was light and fluffy. I forgot to ask for the bacon to be crisp, so it was limp and a little fatty, but hey, it was still bacon. I enjoyed it. Audrey and another waitress came by frequently with the coffee pot. As soon as I finished, Audrey came over with my check and asked if I wanted coffee to go. I looked around. The place was not half filled. I had been thinking I would sit and read the paper for a while, but I said sure. She brought the paper cup out right away, and I paid and left. She gave me a smile and said goodbye, using my name, as I left.

Weird to say this about a breakfast place (or at least primarily that's what we go for), but the queso is wonderful. Place is always packed, parking is a bit difficult, but it's an Austin staple.

We ate a wonderful breakfast here and I didn't have to eat again that day! The coffee is good and strong and the cinnamon roll pancakes are soooo good! I was so full but couldn't stop eating. Our waiter was very nice and friendly. Will be back

Can't go wrong whenever I eat out at Kerbey Lane, the queso is a staple to every meal here with the guacamole at the base of the cheese (utter perfection!), and mimosas on the cheap were great to celebrate our recent engagement with our friends~ Our waiter was so extremely kind, best service I've had in a while. I had the Mexican pulled pork tacos with two sunny side up eggs and sweet potato fries to dip in them. The place was not overcrowded like the one I remember visiting a few years ago downtown. And I enjoyed the art deco. Sweet place~

We waited quite a while to get in here for a Saturday friends brunch! But we felt like it was worth it. The benedicts were awesome and the service was great. Fun little place

So we went to the celebrated Austin Kerbey Lane Café. It was good, but I'm not sure better than any other decent breakfast place. The pancakes were OK, a little dry from being over-cooked. Some great-tasting syrup made them better. The biscuits and gravy that our friends had didn't look like anything too special. Omelet was good. The coffee definitely wasn't the best. We had a great waitress, very personable and attentive.

The length of the wait alone tells you how well regarded this restaurant is regarded. Sunday morning and we waited 30 minutes although if you use the No Wait app you can reduce this to manageable limits. Basic breakfast entrees served hot and fast. Good coffee. Despite the hectic pace, the wait staff were patient explaining the too numerous to list options. Among the four of us, no complaints.

Really good food, really great staff, and amazing atmosphere the food is super good for the price like super good.

Stopped by for brunch on a trip to Austin. The food was delicious. Had the baked potato omelet and pancakes. But we were dying from the July heat after walking around Austin, and it was so hot in there that I didn't even care about my food. I just wanted to get out. Still, really good food...in the fall or winter.

Got the street taco plate with pork tacos. Very good. Others with me had breakfasts which also looked very good. Sat outside, lots of dog owners had their dogs with them on leashes. Helpful and friendly staff. Would certainly hit this spot again on my next visit.

Kerbey Lane has grown from a great family restaurant that helped ‘keep Austin weird’. Now it is a local chain. Today was accessible , good menu, good food, and great service.

I dined here after seeing their menu online and that they offered a vegan breakfast. It was a big disappointment. The food had been so over spiced and all the items tasted the same ... like bad curry! The eggs tasted like curry, the cheese sauce tasted like curry and the parties were dry and not good at all. My dining companion's food was brought to the table cold and the atmosphere was so tight with tables/people that we just wanted to leave. I have been a vegan vegetarian for 28 years and I couldn't even stomach that garbage that they served me. Not good at all

Greek, Cuban, Middle Eastern - and then again, there's biscuits and gravy! There's something for everyone to enjoy, from an awesome meatloaf with a red bell pepper sauce (instead of tomato topping) to deliciousness for vegetarians and vegans. I admit I overdid it. I ordered too much and took a nice to-go bag home! That queso with the guac swimming underneath is wonderful. The duck gumbo has a smoky flavor and a deep dar roux. Grilled asparagus came as the vegetable of the day and it was fresh and deftly seasoned. The cheddar/bacon mashed potatoes were a tad dry, but with a dollop of queso they were dynamite. My server took care of some unusual requests without any problems and even c=gave me a brief history of the place. I will go back - even though I have to drive 180 miles to do it!

Everything everyone ordered was delicious. I ordered the fried chicken benedict and it was AMAZING!!! We got a pitcher of mimosas for $12. It was all cheap and so tasty.

Ordered French toast, over easy eggs, sausage and side of home fries. I got cold French toast and potatoes with over hard eggs and a hockey puck sausage. Sadly my 1st and last visit.

This classic Austin establishment has a number of locations, and this was one which I rarely get the chance to visit. As it’s located at the corner lot of a strip center, there’s plenty of interior space as well as parking. Being accessible, and not having a long wait time, are important to continued patronage at restaurants. The menus at Kerbey Lane are the same at each of locations, so that gives a sense of familiarity. Service were was quick and friendly, and we were constantly checked on to make sure all was okay or to refill our water glasses. I had the ever-good migas, and my friend had a salad. Sure there were other places we could’ve gone, but we chose that one because we knew the quality of the service and food would be stellar.

My favorite on this trip was the Queso, which was excellent. I consider this a solid go-to restaurant, but nothing has totally knocked my socks off (tho the Queso came close).

First time visit and LOVED it! DON'T miss the Kerbey Queso!!!!!! Went at dinnertime but half of party ordered off the breakfast menu which they serve all day, and it was wonderful! Southwest Salad- HUGE AND STELLAR! Generously topped with very tender well seasoned chicken.

I got their before 10 on a Sat morning and had no problem popping a seat at the counter. This place bustles but with an open and friendly atmosphere-no one appears harried or stressed...just efficient and incredibly talented. The food is amazing, and it was hard to pick from the menu. My choice? Migas.. hearty without leaving you feeling weighed down. Affordable, fast, delicious.

Wonderful breakfast and we didn’t have a wait at all. Went 9 am on Saturday and got seated. Lots of breakfast choices from omelets to pancakes and everything in-between. By far the best choice had to be the cinnamon roll (a single pancake with cinnamon, sugar and glaze for $4)! So good because they were like dessert for breakfast and the flavor was sweet and fluffy. We also added the Kerbey Lane Combo for some eggs, bacon, sausage and pancakes. Then got some biscuits and gravy to round it out. The sausage was great, but the biscuits were very crumbly and our least favorite item ordered. Service was attentive and would love to return for breakfast or any meal.

Such a great space with enjoyable food! The staff was friendly. Delicious biscuits and fresh food. Give yourself time, there could be a wait but its worth it.

We ended up at Kerbey Lane as my friend wanted some Vegan choices and I wanted some Non-Vegan choices! She was very happy with the fried avocado tacos and I had wonderful Beignet Pancakes with a boneless fried chicken breast!!! So Good! Very helpful staff today and great food options!

I ordered half lemon poppy seed and 1/2 regular French toast (cause I was afraid I wouldn't like the lemon poppy seed version). Both were delicious but the lemon poppy seed was amazing! Not overly strong lemon flavor...just right.

Very popular Austin eatery open 24/7. Often a wait, especially around breakfast time. They do text you when your table is ready and there are benches inside and out for the wait. Great breakfasts. Different types of pancakes - banana walnut pancakes are on the seasonal menu, a variety of omelets and migas, fresh squeezed orange juice, etc. The pancakes were excellent and plate sized, the ham was overlooked, and the fresh fruit assortment good. My friend got the chicken fried steak and said it was mediocre. I think that this is a great place for breakfast but the lunch and dinners are uninspiring. They have vegan and gluten free entrees too.

The cafe serves primarily popular American dishes but they also have a greek selection. I wouldn’t classify this as a traditional cafe as they also have alcohol and normal dinner items. The chicken and pancakes is a great option! I also recommend the chips/queso.

We really enjoyed our breakfast which was quickly and efficiently served. Our cups of coffee and glasses of water were kept full with nary a word to our servers. My choice was the California Omelet made with avocado and cheddarjack cheese, topped with fresh tomato, kalamata olives and scratch made green chile sour cream sauce. It comes with 2 sides. I chose Homefries and Black Beans. My ex chose the Smoked Salmon Benedict for $12.95. It is an English muffin topped with tomato, poached eggs*, smoked salmon* and hollandaise sauce. Finished with diced red onion and capers. Served with one Breakfast Side. He chose home fries. My daughter chose the Smoked Salmon Omelet for $11.95. It is prepared with egg* whites, smoked salmon*, avocado and sauteed tomato topped with a lemon dill cream cheese sauce, diced red onion and capers. Served with two Breakfast Sides, my daughter chose fruit salad and for a small up charge gluten free toast. It was all so filling. I even brought home some leftovers!

Wow very unique dining experience. Food was creative and the portions are huge. Pancakes are out of this world - I didn't try a Flavoured one went for buttermilk instead. The waitstaff are all tattooed up with perfect service.

My niece and I searched for a good restaurant open after 11 PM on Tuesday night. Kirby Lane Cafe hit the mark with a strong selection of tasty dinner options, a server who offered reasonable recommendations, and a pleasant environment. I thought I was headed for a 5-star experience until my hot cider was forgotten, there was a problem with my order, and twice the change from my cash payment needed to be corrected. It was late and the server seemed harried, but the combination of problems stepped our experience down a notch. I will return for another try when I'm back in town because the menu offered such an interesting variety of choices.

A party of four, we enjoyed Lunch with Cheese Quesadilla, Eggs Franciscon, Pancakes and Shepherd's Pie for a cost of $42.76. Great service and meal, delivered quickly considering this location is always busy with waiting times of 15-20 minutes for a table.

Breakfast was a real treat. They had many interesting different specials. The fried green tomatoes were delicious! The lemon poppyseed French toast is a regular item and is delicious. The gingerbread pancakes were also very good. Service was attentive and priced reasonably for what you get. The food is much better than average breakfast fare.

Tried to find a place that offered good value and where my son could have gluten free pancakes. Found this restaurant in our area - and decided to try it. Wasn't busy around 9 am on a Thursday - and we were quickly seated in a comfortable booth and greeted by MotMan - and no - he's NOT a Duck Dynasty brother. Normally - one of our better breakfasts has come from Cracker Barrel - but normally for the biscuits and coffee - but this place started off right. MotMan served us with options to drink - and said he would be right back - which gave us time to look over the menu. My son chose the "loaded omelette" and I chose the Kerby Lane breakfast that included 2 eggs, bacon, sausage and pancakes. The gluten free pancakes - there was only 1 choice - which was apple/cinnamon. My son wasn't sure - but decided to go with it anyway. It would be nice if there was another option - although I understand how this is hard to do. When MotMan brought the food back - my son LOVED the omelette - then he dipped into the gluten free pancakes - and he said - 'oh my God - this tastes like a hot cinnamon role'. Needless to say - he was happy. Normally - he could eat everything on his place - but not this time. He had to save it for later - and so did I. The portions are huge. The price is reasonable - and the "coolness" of MotMan makes it worth the experience. WIll be going back tomorrow

What a phenomenal southern breakfast. We had fried green tomato eggs benedict with some subtle southern pepper flavours weaved in; also biscuits and gravy. A nice simple and friendly Austin institution.

Lots of variety in the menu with many choices. Good service, good food. Their home style potatoes are perfect size

Great place for breakfast anytime. Also good for standard menu, including burgers sandwiches salads etc. service was friendly and quick and I go there often when I am in Austin.

I've trying to go to Kerbey Lane for a while so trying to avoid the long morning wait-lines, we woke up early and made it there by 9am. Awesome service and in a Texas cold morning, the coffee and my hot chocolate was great. I ordered the Cuban Pork Eggs Benedict. Flavors were awesome but I must add two comments. As I said, the flavor was good, but the pulled pork was more Texan than Cuban style (as described on the menu) and, both eggs were over medium instead of poached (as described on the menu, or as expected on a Benedict). I have to admit that I would order this dish again and I would live with KL's pulled pork, but I would make sure eggs are poached correctly.

Stopped by for a good espresso at the bar, and a capuchino to go. After all, this is a cafe, right? Got it in a “soup bowl” - which reached my mouth already cold....flavor OK. Capuchino tasted fine, but experience needs to improve a lot. For $7.20 I would expect a lot better.

Dropped by recently after a full morning of errands. Lunch was very good. Tried fish tacos on a dare. Fantastic. Service is spot on. Food is tasty and served in a quick and friendly time frame. Really fun to watch the staff interact with each other while working.

Since this location opened, they have done a summer tomato menu that is awesome. I had a hankering for their fried green tomato eggs benedict. It was delicious -- just what I was craving. My tomatoes have been doing so well that I didn't get any green ones! So I needed that fix. My husband had the Nabil salad and it was just right for him. They serve fresh lemonade that is some of the best in Austin. We had two servers and in the mixup, I didn't get my fruit. But I didn't notice until I got home. Partly my fault since the second server was quite attentive.

These restaurants are popular in Austin because they use locally grown produce and are family owned. They have quite an array of pancake flavors and I had the blueberry. My husband ate french toast, but we both raved over the homemade sausage. The service was kinda slow but we weren't in a rush.

This is an excellent restaurant for breakfast. It's busy but the servers and kitchen keep up and the food is impeccable. Your choices for traditional or gluten free are seemingly limitless. The fresh fruit is great. Try the ham and cheese omelette if that is your thing--it's my litmus test for a new breakfast place. The potatoes are good here, too. We picked up a pancake mix for our cat sitter as a gift.

My first meal today. Right after landing; headed here for an amazing brunch. Had the baked-potato omelet with bacon and a side of their famous pancakes. Mimosas were only $2. Wait was not long. Place was packed. The servers work as a team and keep things moving along at steady (non-rushed) pace. There is a gluten-free menu and they work hard to satisfy strict diets. Adult beverages are available. The cafe is open 24 hours a day.

This was a wonderful experience for brunch! The food was delicious as always. My husband loved the Migas and the queso was out of this world. The best part of the experience was our charming waitress, Isabella. Isabella was efficient, focused and friendly. She made us feel like we were treasured family members rather than just average customers. She is simply the best!

Went there for breakfast and the pancakes were fluffy, the service was fast and courteous, and the migas rocked. Great experience overall.

We went for breakfast on Saturday, the place was humming. Short wait to get a table (outside). Downhill from there. Server pleasant but overwhelmed. Took multiple orders and brought beverages before putting orders in so food took 30 minutes to get to the table.Breakfast combo and egg white scramble barely at room temperature. Good ingredients spoiled by dishes not being delivered in time. Such a shame. Multiple reviews mention the problem with cold food so management clearly not motivated to fix staffing/process issues.

Cannot remember the name! But it was basically eggs on an english muffin with queso. Uhhh- YUMMMMM. Plus we ordered a mocha java pancake to share. Delicious! Server was a bit slow and not super attentive, but he was very pleasant and we were not in a hurry. Restaurant was clean. Coffee was good!

This is the 2nd Kirby Lane Cafe I have eaten ate while visiting family in Austin. There are 5-6 sites in and around Austin. Good place to eat, they specialize in breakfast meals all day. We ate around 2:30 PM and we all have a breakfast. Omelets are good as are the pancakes and bacon, highly recommend. Parking is adequate, prices are moderate.

Great spot! Fresh food, fun spot! Dogs are allowed on the patio which is nice! Have the turkey and avocado sandwich with sweet potato fries!

I visited Kerbey's on vacation while in Austin, TX. I had heard good reviews and they were correct. With only a 10 minute wait on a busy Wednesday afternoon, we were seated in a booth as requested. Our server arrived quickly and took our drink orders. It was a bit wait before he returned to take our meal orders. My companion had the gingerbread pancakes and 2 eggs with sausage. It arrived, exactly as ordered. I had the California omlet with avocado. With added salsa, it was superb. I substituted broccoli for the steak fries and was pleased to find this was not a problem. The food arrived hot and in little time from the order time. It was delicious. I highly recommend Kerbey's for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You will be pleased with the food.

I tried for the very first time Fried Green Tomatoes and they were amazing!! Every time I go I order them. The menu is vast and complete, you have vegan options, gluten free, omelets, eggs, burgers, quesadillas etc. They are very creative and one of my favorite dishes is the Crispy Chicken Benedict with Green Sauce! A scratch made biscuit topped with poached eggs, chicken fried chicken breast, hollandaise sauce and grilled onion. Finished with green chile sauce Amazing!!! Love the food here with their own Tex-Mex twist! Their style of cooking with an emphasis on always serving fresh food is one of their biggest assets. Bison burger, Migas, Crispy Chicken Benedict etc. Their menu goes beyond the typical restaurant brunch with a range of high quality meals that are going to surprise your palate.

We ate here at the recommendation of our neice, who lives in Austin. It was outstanding. We all had brunch. The staff was very efficient in dealing with the large crowds who come to eat here. We were seated in the quoted timeframe and we're all served a wonderful meal. Would go back in a heartbeat. This was not our server, but he adds to the ambiance of the place.

We ate at the University diner location where they had unique décor and art, jazz music over the sound system (in 4 days that was our first jazz we heard anywhere!). Our waitress was very nice and we got quick service (it was 6am). B had eggs, pancakes and bacon. He said it was all good but not great. I had the vegan pancakes (which is why we made the effort to come, because I heard about these vegan cakes). I was disappointed. They were a bit gluey- wet- and I was forced to have a flavoring in it because that is what they were that day…so they were banana pecan. I don’t like flavored pancakes. The syrup was not real maple syrup so that’s a bummer, too. I love that they have vegan items on their menu and love the idea that they had vegan pancakes but sadly, the execution is what counts and it wasn’t good. We rate this a C.

We went here for breakfast looking for pancakes and were not disappointed. They offer gluten free and vegan options, if that's something you're concerned about, but if not they have plenty of traditional options as well(read as: can get bacon). Reasonably priced and absolutely worth it! I'll be back!

Kerbey Lane is as good as the long lines would imply. There are several locations and they are all predictably good. The menu is extensive so all can find things they want. The venue and service are very good. Predictable quality in all parts of Austin.

My son and I had a “date” on his last teacher work day, and he wanted Kerbey Lane. Other than the original, this is probably my favorite location. The service is always leaps and bounds ahead of the other locations. We had a fabulous meal and great service. Perfect.

Both myself and my husband received burned pancakes. When we pointed this out to the server he giggled and said, “oh well!” Needless to say, we didn’t eat the burned pancakes and made do with the egg and sausage patty that came with the breakfast plates.

I was excited to eat here for my birthday breakfast as I heard the pancakes were delicious. Highly overrated, below average service and tasteless pancakes.

My family has been eating here since 1980, regularilly. From their signature amazing pancakes to their roasted Brussels Sprouts we each have our favs. I saw on the news this week their queso recipe has been sent into outer space just incase our friends from other planets need to know where to go for great queso or just to know how to make it at home. Senior discount 15% Alien or other!

I told the host I had food allergies and he sent me to talk to the service manager. The manger was able to show me all the ingredients for my meal and could accomodate my unusual allergies. What a relief! Best experience I have had since becoming a food allergy adult. The food was average and my friends were not too impressed with their food. But I'd go back only because I felt safe eating there. Thank you!!!

KL is a diner with very good food, but not great food. There are plenty of places within walking distance that are just as good or better where you do not have to wait 30 minutes for a table. To make it worse, when we were seated after 30 minutes 1/3 of the tables were empty. So their service staffing was woefully inadequate at the noon hour. Party had chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken, and chicken sandwich.

Great food and service. Queso was great a long with Greek chicken. Pancakes were awesome. Lemonade was fresh.

Breakfast was great with eggs and bacon and kids that don't sleep. Wouldn't want to be anywhere else

This is a great place for breakfast. Large variety of breakfast items to choose from. I have eaten here multiple times and never disappointed. This time I went off the deep end and had their lunch. It was not that great. The food was obviously left from the previous day. Stick to the breakfast.

The food is eclectic, unique, and fun. The servers are friendly. Had a great time in a great atmosphere. Try the pancakes!

I recommended to go here for lunch to my friend when we were in the area. He commented that he hadn’t been to a Kerbey Lane in about twenty years, since he’d previously been going to UT. I knew what type of awesome quality we’d get, and my friend said the feeling hadn’t changed even though the menu had. I enjoyed my requisite migas with queso. He got the Boss Burger, the half-pound of Angus beef topped with all manner of goodness. Sure it was messy, but my friend found it fabulous. When I mentioned there was now a KL location in Round Rock near where he lived, he planned on going there on a regular basis.

Since I was a teenager, I've always had a great experience at Kerbey Lane; not a single item on their menu I've ever had has been a disappointment. Have had a lot of great memories at the old, South Lamar location and, while the new location is a well laid out space with a modern, updated feel, it doesn't quite capture the essence of the original's vintage vibe.

Going to Kerbey Lane is like going to Grandma's for dinner, if Grandma gave you a bill at the end. The food and setting are safe, comfortable, and familiar. You won't find anything for foodies, but all-day breakfast makes up for it. Enjoy the people-watching -- including the wait staff -- which gets better as the night gets deeper. People go here for all sorts of reasons, including not being able to think of anything else, or because they're out late (this location is open 24/7). Every city needs a place like this.

Great menu and they serve breakfast all day long. We always order the Kirbey Queso even at breakfast lol. The pancakes are as large as the plate their on and so very tasty!! The entire staff are always friendly no matter how busy the place is and it does get busy!

One cannot find a better place for that anytime breakfast. And there is nothing like going in at eleven at night and being able to order breakfast especially when it is the Paris Texas Platter which one of my favorites. We also had the blackened fish tacos with extra veggies. It is perfect for that weight watcher (well, almost). We usually sit at the counter and love to watch the interaction of the staff which is always friendly and the service very good. And a bottle of wine is very reasonable (And, yes, I had wine with breakfast). Keep Austin weird or is just me? It is one of the last places that reminds me of the Austin past.

Impressive: really bad. Fruit couple of days old, sausage from another planet, snot pancake, very grumpy waiter. Everything served cold. Don't go there!

Kerbey Lane Cafe (S. Lamar) has a great fun atmosphere. Their menu options are fantastic and have a wide range to please any palate.

This is food for late night, the food is good, the mimosas are decent, the service is good. Its a 24 hour diner, so its as good as that can be.

Went there at lunch hour(12:00) on a Friday, expected a long line but was surprised our part of 5 was seated within a few minutes. New menu for summer, with different selections compared to the menu a few months ago. Food order was taken quickly and food was hot when delivered 10 minutes later. Good selection of good food, something for everyone, including the vegetarians in our group. Server Colleen was very friendly and very efficient, kept the coffee full and hot along with any other things we needed.

Yummy breakfast , great room - perfect egg white omelette with nice toast and even better service. Can’t wait to go back.

Love this place, come here at least once every time we visit Austin! Food is very tasty, excellent, fast service, affordable prices.

I had a complete breakfast and laid down $14 on the counter. This covered eggs, sausage, biscuits, gravy, coffee, sales tax, and tip. Not the best best breakfast I have ever had, nor the worst. It is close to my home, so I expect to go again, but not often.

Excellent food and service, very slow queue and sloppy restrooms, although they started cleaning them as we were leaving, thus it may have been wrong timing. The food was excellent as every time we have gone to this restaurants.

Three simple dishes took ages to arrive. And when they did...no big surprise!...cold fries, limp tacos, and a tired, dried out burger. The wait staff were friendly but unprofessional. The result? We will never return to a Kerbey Lane restaurant in Austin, and will urge our friends to avoid them too. What a shame. Getting the basics right shouldn't be that hard.

we went there on thanksgiving day for dinner, i decided to try the Moroccan beef and it wasn't good at all. the rest of the food was good. the service was pretty good.

An old haunt with great foods. A friend returned to the eatery and enjoyed the meal. He enjoyed a salad and I stuck with pancakes and eggs. ALWAYS GOOD.

I had the Vegan BBQ sandwich and it was very good. More like a Sloppy Joe. Others had the Veggie Burger and all liked it as well. credos cheese dip was very good as well as the guac.

Really enjoyed menu, very seasonal. Pumpkin French Toast, Blueberry Cornbread Pancakes, uncured bacon. Well done, for normal novice non CIA trained chefs! Wife really liked Chai tea (not latte). No wait on a UT game weekend Sunday at 8 am.

Every time we are in Austin we eat here. I love their mid east salad and their sweet potato fries. Service is quick even when busy. I wish they had these in Dallas

Austin has a lot of great late night eateries, this is definitely top 3! Service is always great, no matter what the hour, and the food is consistently good as well. Well lit parking lot makes late-night dining easy, and it's easy to find on South Lamar. The eggs benedict are no joke! A+

The server, Waters, was excellent. She stayed on top of everything and made the meal better. No glass went unfilled. There were four of us and we ordered the Seasonal French Toast Platter, French Toast. Paris Texas w/ small stack of pumpkin roll pancakes (for me), biscuits, eggs and gravy. My dish was very good. Unfortunately the migas were not hot and a bit under-seasoned. There was no hot sauce on the table to help perk up the migas. pancakes were not hot enough to melt the butter. My wife had the french toast. It was OK. The other members in our group liked their meals. we go to the other locations every couple of months and have experienced very good food. I think things would have been much better if they were hot. We will visit again.

Arrived in to Austin late at night and was starving. This place was open and had great service and the food was awesome. The Turkey and Avocado was awesome!

We went on a Tuesday and were surprised that KIDS EAT FREE on Tuesdays. Sat on the enclosed patio and found the food to be excellent. Blueberry pancakes were great. Recommended!

A little pricey if u ask me, but still good food. We had pumpkin pancakes, migas, Paris Texas platter and the Baked Potato omelette. Austin was under a boil water alert so we had juice and cold brewed coffee. Migas Scrambled eggs, pico de gallo, tortilla chips, cheddarjack cheese, choice of sauce. Black beans, Mexican rice. Paris Texas platter French toast & Migas. Choice of sauce. Baked Potato omelette Homefries, bacon, green onion, cheddarjack cheese, sour cream.

11:00 AM pancakes. Yea they were awesome. The smell waiting the 1 hour plus to get seated drove me nuts. The salad was a great value with an egg, chicken, blue cheese nuts and berries. Nice summer drinks and a craft of mimosas is available. The bad, the enormous wait even when you get in line on Yelp. I recommend you do that then travel there. The noise, omg you could not hear yourself think, I swear people were yelling just to get heard over each other. There is a ton of space in the place and its stuffed. Good food, just be prepared to grow roots and wait.

I had the Strawberry Fields Salad, which is just as good as it has been for years. This salad has spinach, Feta Cheese, grilled chicken, glazed pecans, bacon, and a Raspberry Vinaigrette (on the side). I love it. My husband had the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries. The sandwich was seasoned to perfection, and the coleslaw added a nice crunch and coolness to offset the fire of the Buffalo sauce. The fries were perfect: not too sweet nor too salty. Our server was friendly and prompt. I highly recommend this Kerby Lane location.

Family stopped in at the Kerbey Lane South location for dinner. We had Lynn as a waitress and had a great experience. Bacon cheeseburger with fries, and 2 special pancake breakfasts plus queso with chorizo as an appetizer. Everything arrived timely and was tasty. The queso was slightly more runny than normal but was still good. Their menu is quite varied, and should cover a great number of tastes. Definitely a worthwhile choice.

We have been in town for a wedding this weekend. We stopped for breakfast on way home. Tables who sat & ordered after the three of us had their food 10-15 minutes before us. When we got the food, none of it was even warm. The ham steak was so dry, it was like eating jerky. My pancakes were not even warm enough to melt the butter. My husband ordered some biscuits & gravy, biscuits beyond dry, gravy tasted like flour & sausage dry too. We will not waste our time or money again here.

My husband and I stopped here for breakfast on a Sunday around 10:30 am. I'm glad it was just the two of us because or wait was a good 20 minutes. Others were waiting longer. At least I got a pretty delicious apple cinnamon gluten-free pancakes! Get there early if going on a weekend.

Met family for lunch at this wonderful Austin institution. JP took great care of us. Omelets were terrific, enchilada were delicious. And the seasonal fried green tomatoes Benedict was outstanding! Also, don't miss the hibiscus iced tea - just wonderful!

Simple breakfast was delayed due to incorrect order of poached eggs which were hard cooked, and other order delivered stone-cold. Both had to be addressed by the manager for correction. End result was free breakfast but the experience delayed our day's schedule. This location is normally very good so was surprised this time.

Went for breakfast and had fantastic chilaquiles! No need to dress up OR down to hit this place - even the wait staff is eclectic (all of whom, by the way, were on the ball, engaging, and friendly). It was also the cleanest place we visited during our trip to Austin - even the bathrooms sparkled. Go here!

We have heard so much about this place. What a disappointment. We went with another couple for dinner and we all ended up breakfast. Three of us asked for crisp bacon. It was so burnt, it tasted like what you would expect charcoal to taste like. The 4th person's bacon was wimpy and half cooked. I ordered my eggs over medium. The whites were runny. My pancakes were cold and hard. One person had French toast. It was so hard and nasty. I had orange juice that tasted watered down. None of us ate more than than 3-4 bites of our food. When the waitress came by , she asked why no one was eating. We told her that the food was nasty. They still brought us a check. We are not exaggerating, this food was the worst we have had in years. If you eat here, you are throwing your money away. Stay away.
Excellent for lunch and/or dinner
Great selection of everything from all day breakfast to salads, entrees, and sides. Had the veggie burger. It was very filling. Service is always friendly and courteous. Lunch can be a little busy. Get there early.
