We loved seeing the remodeled efforts after having enjoyed Red Sails Inn for decades. For us the menu did not wow us and not everyone likes Brussels sprouts (aka “greens” on the menu) with their fish. I would suggest offering more side options to please more tastes. We ordered the swordfish and it was good but nothing to rave about. For me, the best part was the gelato dessert. Service was good but our waiter seemed new with the menu. There are so many seafood restaurants in the area, I would try other options before returning to Ketch again.

It was my last night in San Diego and I had seen this restaurant over the course of three days. So, I figured I would go in an see what it was all about. The decor is very modern. The back wall is all glass looking out onto a patio, overlooking the bay. Very nice. At this point, I was traveling alone so I sat at the bar and ordered dinner. I was not real hungry so I went for the spicy tuna wonton tacos and the shrimp Louie salad. The tacos were amazing. Deep fried wonton wrappers stuffed (which is the correct verb) with spicy tuna, jicama, slaw and a wonderful spicy secret sauce. The shrimp Louie was a nice selection of shrimp, tomatoes, egg, avocado and greens. Just enough to satisfy my hunger. It was Friday night and the place was full. Lots of people and it was a lively (and noisy) scene. I am sure there are times when it is not so busy, but if they to take reservations, I would recommend them. Since I was sitting at the bar, there was no wait.

I was excited to try a new place in Pt. Loma for dinner but this restaurant truly disappoints. Having tried it two times, I will not be back nor will I recommend it. The only reason I am giving it two stars was because of the service (Ali) and the views. There were four of us in our party and all four meals were not up to par for the cost and Brigantine family experience. I was hoping that this restaurant would be a great addition to the San Diego waterfront when it opens downtown but unless they hire a new chef, I won't be going back.

Came here for lunch. We received very good service. It is a loud place but was ok for us. Food, fish and chips and fish burger, was very average with little flavour….personally wouldn’t go back but we didn’t see a lot of alternatives close by.

I love fish and Ketch is next to the hotel I stay in so it convenient as well as delicious a huge plus. They have a gelato and coffee place next to the restaurant which is my favorite spot.

Delicious Breakfast burrito and Shrimp Avocado Toast!!! The coffee was good too! I would recommend this place!

My wife and I ventured here on the last night of our visit to San Diego and absolutely loved it. We were warmly greeted and quickly seated before a member of the waiting team talked us through drink and food options. I opted for a local IPA to start things off while my wife enjoyed a lovely Collins Cocktail. For our mains, I chose the macadamia crusted mahi served over coconut risotto and green beans while my wife chose the surf and turf tagliatelle. Both dishes were beautifully prepared and presented and tasted amazing. Service throughout was excellent - extremely attentive but never intrusive - just as we like it. My only regret was not finding this place earlier in our visit so we could have enjoyed a subsequent visit!

Heated patio overlooking the marina made for a perfect dining experience. Food and service were excellent. Went with friends but is also a beautifully romantic location. Highly, highly recommend it!

The food is delicious, the service is great and the views can’t be beat! They are having a closed pre-RSVP event tonight for the 4th of July that we plan to do next year!

Brigantine restaurant chain did a excellent job redoing the Red Sails Inn and the location and views of the harbor and it's boats is great. Regarding the food it is an average restaurant menu with standard items nothing out of the ordinary, Will visit for the view and atmosphere.... the food would be secondary....

The location is good, great view of the marina. Food not so much. Service is decent. After two visits I was not impressed. For the price, I thought the food would be more flavorful. Ahi tacos were ok, but the clams were bland.

We stopped here with another couple for dinner our hotel was around the corner which was nice. Great menu selection and we were there on a Monday night and they had a happy hour until they closed which was fantastic. We ordered oysters and we had the pretzel for appetizers. We all had seafood dinners and they were amazing. Service was great very friendly. They do have outdoor seating but it filled up pretty quickly. Parking is across the street there’s a parking lot next to the restaurant but it’s not for the restaurant. They have a great drink menu and wine and beer selection.

Finally made it to the restaurant that was built on the old Red Sails site on the water at Shelter Island. The menu is innovated with “new to me” choices as well as many of the oldies, some oldies with newer variations. Largest selection of seafood with several meat and chicken choices. Gluten free for some items. We chose the truffled Brussel sprouts and Paella fritters for a lite lunch then were tempted by the sea salt pretzels, which turned out to be two large hot soft pretzels served with a beer cheese dipping sauce spiced with jalapeños. The food was good. The interior of the restaurant is modern, minimalist in design. Outdoor patio seating is available, indoor window seating limited. Service was exceptional without hovering. We interacted with four of the wait staff and all were friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable for most menu items. Adult beverages are available for those who enjoy them. There is a limited wine selection. Parking is metered (street and parking lot across the street), limited to 3 hours and strictly enforced. My friend exceeded her time by 15 minutes and received s hefty ticket.

This place is always crowded so it is good to make reservations. The menu offers a little of everything from light lunches to very filling entrees. The breakfast burrito is wonderful. The chicken and waffle plate can be shared by two. I would ask the waiter to ask the cook not to overcook the chicken.

Went there for anniversary dinner with spouse. Service was great, food was great and nice portions. Views of marina were nice. Pricing was fair for location. Highly recommended for couples.

My husband and I ate here several times, twice for lunch and twice for dinner, while I was attending a conference nearby. We thoroughly enjoyed some of the offerings, especially their fried calamari, their octopus appetizer, and an outstanding baby kale and farro salad (one of the best salads I've ever eaten!) The range of tap offerings was also excellent. And we very much enjoyed the pleasant outdoor seating and the friendly wait staff. But there is room for improvement. My husband ordered tuna tacos one night that the server referred to as "blackened" when in fact they were "black and blue in terms of the length of time cooked." They were not especially tasty and largely consisted of large slabs of tuna thrown into a taco shell. And we were disappointed that on the third occasion of ordering their excellent fried calamari, the portion was significantly smaller than the first two times we'd partaken of it. Finally, while the seasoning on the charred octopus was exceptional, it would have been nice to have the accompanying brussel sprouts roasted as well.

We stumbled on Ketch but so pleased that we did. This harbourside restaurant is fabulous. Wonderful food, reasonable prices, micro brewery with fabulous beer flights and lovely views. I ate the tuna which was really well seared and delicious to eat. Highly recommended.

Stopped by for a glass of wine because of the location. but found out this is a spot to go back to. Friendly people, good service and great food for snacks or big meals. The view on the patio or at the inside bar are great .. overlooking the water and harbor full of beautiful yachts. We tried the Pro Pretzels that came out steaming hot with a beer mustard cheese sauce. WOW went great with our chardonnay's. Ask for Travis and you will surely be glad. Cheers,

Ketch replaced the venerable Red Sails restaurant. Don't like to review a restaurant on one visit, but the negative aspects of Ketch we experienced aren't fleeting. We had booth seating inside for my wife's 80th birthday dinner. Our server was both overbearing and solicitous - an annoyingly complex achievement of insincerity. Wife ordered fish tacos, I had kale/farro salad. My salad was 97% kale, 3% other ingredients - including farro, with almost no dressing and a rancid smoky aftertaste. The kale in kale salad is usually rubbed to soften it. Not so at Ketch, and the leaves had long, unwieldy stems, as well. I give it 0 out 5 stars. Tacos were barely better: a mound of blue corn chips, two skimpy, soggy, salty, unimaginative tacos with scant fish: 2 out of 5 stars. Best part of meal was bottle of chilled water and glasses of ice cubes left on table that we could refill as needed. When we mentioned the 80th birthday, server handed us a dessert menu, leading us to believe we were in for a gifted dessert - that was added to the bill instead. The table outside our booth was so close that we were unavoidably privy to every word of their conversation. Ketch is noisy, has a lively, centrally located bar scene typical of many modern restaurants. If you like modern digs, get a table at the water, enjoy vacuous service, had your taste buds destroyed by tasteless fast food and are unbothered by ambient noise and neighboring conversations, then Ketch might work for you. We won't return.

I did not get into the main restaurant, but the new owners have it looking amazing. I actually went to the little coffee stop next door. I think it is also owned by the same folks (Brigantine?) It will be one of my routine stops when I stay on Shelter Island. It is a cheery little place with seating outside. I had a Dark Chocolate Gelato Afagotto. They also have cookies, muffins & sandwiches.

We did no research before finding Ketch. After a visit to Ft. Rosecranz we found Ketch in the Marina. What a pleasant surprise. The food is excellent. The view of the marina is relaxing. Fresh, well prepared food with thoughtful presentation. The staff is friendly, patient and delightfully charming. If you find yourself there at lunch, the smoked tuna melt is outstanding. No joke. Outstanding! We also enjoyed the fish and chips, the spicy tuna wonton tacos, the Louie salad and the Buffalo cauliflower. Don’t overlook Ketch.

After spending many hours on the USS Midway, we walked down the pier and stopped to have lunch at Katch. Good choice I had the blackened mahi-mahi tacos, which were extremely tasty. If you’re looking for a good food and a great view, this is a place to go.

We stop to get a food, first time, my wife order fish tacos and me something else. After my wife eats first fish tacos on second one find a human hair, she was completely disgusting, so one of guy come took my wife food and we told him we wan to talk to the manager or owner so we wait about 10 minutes to see if anybody came to us to talk about this but nobody cares nobody came. DEFINITELY NOT GOING BACK

The place is the best decorated the patio a view of docked boats the water feels like your having breakfast on a boat The service very friendly, the foods served fast and great tasting I liked it so so much I took a date there later ther evening again service food was the best the patio very cool

The food, atmosphere, and view were fantastic. Would definitely recommend and definitely come back. Our server Paul was attentive and friendly. The beet salad is just delicious!

...4/5 because rarely is anything 5/5. Great atmosphere. Not too pricey for SoCal. If we're ever in SD again, we'll definitely eat here.

Last Night my company hosted our quarterly happy hour and to say that we were satisfied with the way the event turned out would be an understatement. A month ago I showed up to check out the space and the manager Kassi was nothing short of outstanding, she went through the menu with me, she explained the specials, she gave me multiple options in terms of how to structure the night and she made sure I had access to their coveted patio space. She was the quarterback of the entire operation. She was extremely flexible and accommodating and made me feel at ease the entire time. Our two servers Taylor and Erica were the stars of the night. Their attentive to the guest and their expedience with taking orders and returning with drinks and food was Nascar. I was amazed at their ability to move quickly yet still engage with our guest. People want to feel like you are present in the moment with them and these two servers were just that. They kept me abreast of our tab and made sure the water stayed cold and the silverware and plates were cleaned up without even being noticed. Overall, I had phenomenal experience and not to mention, the venue is to die for and the food and drinks are on point. We will definitely be returning. Thank you ladies!

Not a place to return to 12 Oysters. 3 good and nine minuscule. Tuna steak was good. Calamari way over cooked and breaded. Yuck Not good. Heaters on the latino in June. I am roasted

The former location of the Red Sails Inn on Shelter Island is hard to beat. The restaurant is cool, and the open air patio is wonderful overlooking the marinas. But we were very disappointed in the food. My cup of clam chowder was served with an actual clam shell. Well, maybe that’s the chic thing but I didn’t like it, The soup was not hot, and frankly tasteless. I didn’t finish it. My husbands fish entree was practically served raw, and he couldn’t eat it. My salad was fresh and good, but that was the best thing I can say about the whole meal. Overall, we were very disappointed in a fairly expensive meal.

We enjoyed many meals and drinks at this newer restaurant while in the area. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Big Eye Tuna is amazing

Dinner was glum. Two fish dinners were overcooked and very hard. My chicken came over fries and the juice made the fries very soggy. The indoor area is very sterile and cold. It's more a beer and small food bites restaurant. The outdoor area is very nice and they covered it so you are not in the sun. Will not re-visit this restaurant.

This is a good restaurant with excellent views of the water. The menu items are pretty standard. but quite tasty. I would definitely recommend coming here for the view, but maybe less for the food.

This is new for us and apparently also relatively new for the area - I think they said less than a year since opened. The restaurant interior is wonderful, relaxing, chic and works well for movement. The outdoor area has heaters, so can be used on a cooler day and affords wonderful views of the harbor area. Inside, the kitchen area is on full view, but behind glass, so there are no greasy food odors coming into the restaurant. The indoor space is also very comfortable. The bar area is very nice and we love that they have a full bar with a nice selection. The menu is somewhat limited, but interesting. They heirloom tomato soup with grilled cheese sandwich is a favorite. The fried calamari were just fine, if a bit greasy. Fried onions better, since not greasy. The fish taco platter was quite good and the homemade totopos chips were really yummy. The sand dab was good but not stellar. There wasn’t too much taste and, while I prefer not having breaded and fried fish, perhaps this needed a little more crunch. It was served on an interesting bed of greens (Brussels sprouts and spinach). The wait staff is not only friendly and efficient but also charming and funny. We'll definitely be back.

This restaurant is on the site that for decades was the Red Sails. I've had lunch here with friends a couple of times since it reopened as The Ketch and everyone agrees the place, the food, and the service all are very good. The outdoor deck has a great view of San Diego Bay and boats in the marina. The atmosphere is casual. The menu is simple but has something for everyone. We particularly liked the short rib sandwich, the bacon burger, and the fried chicken sandwich. They have a few good local beers. Prices are a little high, but you're paying in part for the location. All in all, a good place to meet friends or colleagues on a sunny day for a relaxing lunch. Be aware, though, that it's a popular place and there can be a bit of a wait for a table that time of day.

Right on the harbor. We first went upstairs and was seated promptly. But waited 10 minutes for a server - short staffed, I'm sure. Because we had a tight time frame we opted to order at the window downstairs. Great Idea! Seating is good and comfortable given the glass wall to prevent wind. Nice food and drink choices, especially their local brews. We did not order them, but the fish and chips are probably the fav here. Tables around us ordered them and one couple next to us said they were great. Very friendly owner and staff. Once tables emptied, they were cleared quickly. It is a nice location and will eventually go back and try the upstairs full-service option.

Friendly, modern atmosphere. A bit loud but booths work to have an intimate conversation. Fish seems very fresh--we had the macadamia nut crusted Mahi and the shrimp scampi. Both flavorful. Drinks are generous pours and reasonably priced. A wide variety of gluten-free and vegan options.

Ketch is a welcome addition to the Shelter Island neighborhood, which for too long has offered mainly chop-house style and hotel restaurants along the Drive. Ketch has a fresh approach to casual dining, with clean lines in their interior design and accessible harbor views throughout. We went in on a late Sunday afternoon and were met with a full bar of patrons. Although initially disappointed, we happily found ourselves seated looking out to the boat docks, sea lions and various sea birds while we enjoyed our meal. We were really just looking for a beer and appetizers, and found their in-house brew to be quite good alongside DELICIOUS and recommended shrimp ceviche and calamari appetizers. We look forward to returning for a "regular" meal, although the appetizers were plenty, along with a trip to the ice cream and dessert annex of Portside. Our server Jen was very helpful with recommendations, and frankly all employees were very welcoming and friendly.

We went to Ketch on a whim because it was new and wanted to have an easy supper with a friend. All of us were pleasantly surprised at the updated and casual atmosphere, food quality, and service. The pork chop supper and short rib melt were delicious. Our waiter, Cory, was professional and did a great job helping us out with our drink and meal decisions. The entire staff were working their "tails off" the whole time we were there. Looking forward to going there again.

Ketch Grill and Taps are right by the marina. Nice deck for dining al fresco. Good happy hour, with a busy bar as a result. The food is pretty good, service is good as well.

Went for the first time yesterday. Terrific vibe and their home brewed beers were OUTSTANDING. Try the coffee stout along with the pretzels and beer cheese dip. The sandwiches were also fantastic! I'll be coming back!

I thought this was a fun place with a nice water view. Wait was sort of long so we just sat at the bar. The bartender was very attentive. The food was good. We were there right before happy hour so we did not partake in that, but the happy hour deals looked good

We only had bar snacks and beer but all were good in a nice bar atmosphere. For meals it has a great setting over the harbour.

We had one of their fancy Bloody Marys with 2 shrimp, bacon and other garnish which was good. We ordered fish and chips and I like it. The potatoes tasted like potatoes. The marina view setting is very nice. Fairly pricey for what you get but you do get the view and nice service and atmosphere.

Our kids took us on a cloudy afternoon for lunch. Had a great time and meal with the rest of the family. We were out on the patio and just as we were finishing, it started to rain and all the diners dashed inside laughing carrying their plates and drinks. We got great service from Michelle! Will be back. Thanks!

We really enjoyed our dinner at The Ketch! The Calamari was the BEST ever! A lively place with outdoor dining and views. Will be back!

We have eaten at the Ketch 2 times in the past 2 weeks. Both times the food was good. It was quiet for lunch and a great place to catch up with friends. Service was friendly, not over bearing and we would say thumbs up.

First time here since this location changed names. But more than just the named has changed. This restaurant has been completely rebuilt inside and out. We had an excellent breakfast out on the patio over looking the marina.

A fun place to meet people. Happy hour is awesome. Ketch chowder is mandatory and has an actual mini clam in it. Scrumptious. The Ketch team works together to give me a fun experience. Especially, Grisola. She has a snappy wit, gives great service and is very beautiful. I always look forward to laughing and having a great time with her. Don't go here if you want peace and quiet. One of my favorite Go To Happy hours.

Great appetizers and beer!! Have not been for dinner yet but the menu looks amazing. Right in the water and they did a great job on the new construction of the old Red Sails!

We stopped in to simply have a drink before the restaurant across the street opened. But we quickly changed our plans and stayed. The service was great and the food was delicious. The view of the harbor was great too. Love this place!

Ketch has so much to offer in an area replete with dining options. The menu is varied, service is excellent and the food is great. Casual waterfront location. Went for an evening with our granddaughter, and everyone found something on the menu to their liking. Happy Hour is great, too!

Views were absolutely stunning. Place was clean. Service satisfactory. Short rib sandwich was okay. Cole slaw and sautéed greens were okay also. Clam chowder and the view made this a 4 star review. I’ll probably return and try something else.

When restaurants open, there are always kinks. Ketch on Shelter Island in San Diego has most things under control. We had the opportunity to speak to one of the temporary managers, Kelsey, who expressed their desire to achieve excellent customer service. They did not fail in the standards they’ve set. The food came out quickly and was hot. This was our second visit within 3 days. Our first experience was great, especially w/the food. Our server on that visit was not very good; she was obviously new. Our second visit resulted in the luck of having an excellent server, Brittney. The interior remodel (actually a total reconstruction) is beautiful and welcoming w/warm woods and a lovely outdoor patio w/cantina doors. Prior, on that location, was The Red Sails Inn, a long-time establishment in San Diego. Unfortunately, it had gone down hill. So, the Ketch is a refreshing addition to the family who owns many restaurants in the San Diego area. Obviously, we will be regulars.

Best cheeseburger ever, and plenty big enough to share. Everyone was pleased with their order. Lovely outdoor venue. The wait staff went over and above providing two complimentary birthday desserts

Right on the marina with great service. Food selection was large to cover various palates, was tasty but slightly pricey. Potion size was large and the beer choices diverse.

Visited last night and just managed to get in before they shut the kitchen. First night in the States so had to try a burger, must say it was really good and I’m not a burger fan. The location is lovely looking out over a marina. Friendly staff and a good selection of beers, would recommend if local.

Our appetizers were delicious. Happy hour drinks were slightly weak (mojito, margarita). The only thing missing was a bit more sunshine on the patio (it was cool in the shade yet warm in the sun). There are several sliding shade covers but they were all pulled to a closed position. Attractive, modern decor both inside & out. Nice vibe on the outdoor patio by the marina!

Walking into the restaurant I immediately sensed the comfortable and relaxed vibe. The dining room opens onto a patio overlooking the marina with plenty of seating inside and out. The upscale warehouse look is attractive and on a Wednesday evening the noise level was low, though it could get loud on a busier night. The halibut plate was visually appealing and delicious. The generous serving of fish was served over rice and Brussels sprouts. My husband ordered Mahi, served the same way. The fish was lightly seasoned and grilled, allowing the natural flavors to dominate. The chef could improve the meal with brown or wild rice, instead of white, making it a healthier choice and a bit tastier. The server was prompt, informative, didn't hover over our table, but made sure we were pleased with our meal. He offered a couple of craft beer samples from the extensive list to my husband before he ordered to be sure the beer was to his liking. The wine list provided enough options without overwhelming. We truly enjoyed our experience and recommend Ketch Grill and Taps. It's a nice add to the local yachty neighborhood.

On a recent trip to San Diego a family member suggested Ketch as a spot he was anxious to try. I’m glad we went. Service was outstanding. Our waiter made some great suggestions making our dining experience even better

I did not sit in, just walked in and order take out since I was staying nearby hotel. I ordered Poke - something (sorry don't remember exactly...) and house salad. They were OK, but salad was away overpriced, I thought....Poke was super salty, it was reeeeeeeeeeally salty. Very nice location, seemed like to have a great view. Staffs were super nice. Take out order was ready very quickly, thank you.

Each time is a wonderful experience. Food is fantastic and the wait staff very attentive. Great values on top of all that

I went here three times while I was enjoying a local stay on Shelter Island, once for a business dinner, and finally for a close out dinner with a colleague after a long day. It was a beautiful spot for fresh flavors and food. The beer selection is quite wide ranging, the wine list is excellent, and the cocktails avoid the cloying sweetness and are all refreshing. Grab a seat outside for nice views of the marina if you can. Prices are high and that's the primary reason this was not five star. With so much local seafood, I was surprised by the cost of a small bowl of steamers and the salads. My favorites were the grain bowl, though I'd go lighter on the sauce and the Barvarian pretzel

This was 3rd visit to ketch. Previous visits were good. Really nice looking place, staff very friendly and fun. Deep fried courses very overcooked, shrimp soggy. I’d go back for drinks and burger. But not much else.

This is my new favorite restaurant! As a flight attendant. I’ve had fish and chips all over the world, and Ketch is right up there with Iceland’s fish! If I could give our waiter, Jacob, 10 stars, I would. He was phenomenal! Seriously, waiters just don’t get any better than Jacob. The next time I visit San Diego, I’ll definitely be back. Loved sitting on the patio right on the water.

I had a friend visiting and recommended Ketch for lunch. It's my birthday and she wanted to treat. We sat outside, beautiful, BUT the lunch was not very good. We ordered the Catch of the Day, Salad. It was served in a small "side salad" dish and my fish, Salmon, was under-cooked and her fish, Swordfish, was over-cooked and tough. My friend apologized, it wasn't her fault, and the waitress seemed aloof and didn't seem to notice we were not pleased, or just didn't care. Very disappointed......

Great food, great service, great location. We’d go back any time! We had the captain park the yacht while we had lunch and it was wonderful. Where are you arrive by car or boat, it’s all good.

Love this place! Had been in May for brunch and was looking forward to returning! The decor/atmosphere is great as well as the service, choice of beers and food! The location is perfect when staying on Shelter Island.

Walked over from our hotel for an early dinner/happy hour. The restaurant was not busy and we sat inside, although there were bugs flying around due to the doors being open from the patio. The server wasn't particularly friendly, did her job and that's it. Ordered fish for my entree and it was so dry and overcooked, I could barely cut it with a knife and fork. Had to send it back and that is something I NEVER do. But it seemed a waste to just not eat it. The manager brought me a new plate and that piece of fish was better. My husband said the onion rings were good, his burger was decent. I cannot recommend this due to the service which was not the best, the food not being cooked properly, especially fish in any area known for fresh seafood. There are better choices out there.

Enjoyed a dinner evening with family & friends. Staff were all very professional, friendly and helpful. Good selection of menu items to choose from. Had 'a slight accident' with our toddler, but the staff handled everything quite nicely and made it all well.

We were staying nearby and popped in for a drink on the way back ... what a treat. Really lovely decor with gorgeous open fires overlooking the water, friendly staff and a kick ass margarita. What more could you want?

With friends on the Fourth of July, we enjoyed a plethora of seafood for dinner (plus scrumptious Brussels sprouts as an appetizer). One of us selected salmon with baby yams-excellent reviews; two chose the seared big-eye tuna with soy mushrooms and cauliflower-fabulously yummy; and one ordered the macadamia crusted mahi mahi which was also a big hit. Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner and the server was wonderful as well. We had a bayside table which would have offered fab Views of the fireworks but we had a gathering to go to elsewhere.... but, make a note for next year’s planning.... score a bayside table, bring a jacket because the breeze gets chilly, and watch the “Big Boom” fireworks from Ketch! But even if it’s not the Fourth, this is a great place to enjoy dinner. The decor is fresh and contemporary. Parking is available on street or in lot across the street. This restaurant is located on Shelter Island in Point Loma, not far from the airport. So if you are just arriving from the airport, it’s probably a 10-15 min cab/Uber ride, not bad. It would be a fun place to gather with a bunch of friends out on the outside deck for a happy hour.... go take a break now after you read this!! Enjoy!!

Really neat place with a cool view out the back. Their Ketch brews are meh, but the atmosphere is nice and the food is pretty good. They need to make an appetizer offer for happy hour- right now it’s $2 off beer from 3-5. Petty weak happy hour!

First its a popular place. The majority of people want to sit outside. We came from out of town and stopped in at Ketch Grill & Taps. The food was fantastic from the chowder bowls my and daughter had to the pretzels. Best fish and chips I ever had! Wife enjoyed her New York Steak, and my daughter had the double cheese burger. Our server Alex was the best, very polite and friendly!! I would recommend!! Enjoy!!

This the first restaurant I have visited where the silverware actually stuck to the table. Incredible. I don’t recommend this establishment. Dirty, kids serving looked like they just rolled out of bed and the food was very little better. New cleaning service, new chef and new, well-trained staff necessary. It’s so darned cute in a great location. They’re missing out on any repeat business.

My wife and I visit San Diego at least twice per year to see our daughter and her husband. We probably have eaten in 30-40 different restaurants....this is absolutely our new favorite. The seafood offerings are fresh and incredible. Hand picked by the head chef who pairs them with numerous unique sides. We dined here twice on words do not describe how much we enjoyed everything. Our daughter and friend tried the sushi and raved while I sampled some oysters that were delicious. The grilled tuna main course was simply incredible. The staff was awesome and the building is new and modern. I was pleasantly surprised at the prices...very, very reasonable compared to other restaurants with similar or even somewhat less quality. We will likely stay close by the next visit just so we can easily dine here again.

The interior of the restaurant is very nice and sitting on the deck next to the bay on a warm, sunny day is very nice. Unfortunately the food doesn’t match the location. The lunch menu, which is when we ate there, is limited & pretentious in it’s descriptions. One of our party ordered the fish tostadas & was happy with them. The sandwiches which my wife & I ordered were ordinary at best. For lunch, go for the view but moderate your expectations of the food. There is a more extensive dinner menu & we plan to try it after the restaurant has been open a bit longer.

In town for a business meeting, and the hotel handed me a coupon good for a free appetizer at Ketch. I walked the half-mile along Shelter Island and was pleasantly surprised when I opened the front door. The place is modern, tasteful, and has a cool vibe. I asked for a patio table and was seated at one with a beautiful view of the harbor. I enjoyed fried pickles (not the usual style – very crunchy quarters perfectly spiced, battered, and fried), served piping hot. For dinner, I ordered the Togarashi seared tuna, which was served over a bed of Asian rice with bok choy, carrots, and a light sauce. Again, perfectly prepared and served warm. Prices were reasonable, server Ryan was nicely attentive. Would I go back? Absolutely!

Well, to be honest I did not eat there. I tried, but the hostess was so unhelpful and unwilling to accommodate my request that I just left. I asked to be seated in a particular part of the patio in order to watch my $$$ bike. The hostess informed me that they were no longer seating people there. As I stood there deciding what to do, she seated two people in that area!!! After that I left and resolved never to eat at Ketch again.

Beautiful outdoor seating, cool bar, great foods (make sure to try fish and chips), variety of beers and wines, good service, amazing view on the river and boats.

My wife and I were invited to dinner at Ketch. I usually feel out of place at what I consider to be a fancy restaurant but this was different. It was elegant but at the same time casual. The wait staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The menu was so simple even I could understand it. I decided on the tuna salad sandwich. It was served on toasted sourdough and included a couple slices of ripe tomato inside. For the included side, I ordered chips and salsa. The chips were crisp and lightly salted; the salsa had a great flavor and just a hint of heat. The tuna salad was made with chunks of fresh tuna and the amount of mayo was perfect. I'm not sure how they achieved that flavor but it was awesome. To finish off the dinner, I had a serving of lemon sorbet. This could easily become my favorite restaurant.

Visited today. Such a nice remodel. WOW what a drastic difference from The Red Sails Inn. Don’t like the 4% cover charge notice at the top of the menu. Think they should just raise their prices a bit so it doesn’t make you feel like you have to pay for servixe. Isn’t that just part of going to a restaurant??? Ordered drinks and appetizers. Nicolas the bartender was great. Don’t know I will go back again. The cover charge just doesn’t sit well with me.

Ketch is relatively new (it was being constructed last time I was in San Diego). It is therefore still clean and tidy inside, and the staff are 'on game'. Service was good, prompt and polite. Food choices were good - especially if you like seafood! It was well cooked and very tasty (although the ahi tuna was spicier than I expected!) The only thing I really don't like (which I've seen more frequently in the USA) is the 4% inconvenience charge on every meal. Just increase the meal prices for goodness sake! We're still expected to tip on top of this charge - why can't we budget for a meal by looking at the published prices? The review would have got 4 stars except for this policy.

Wow, the Fish & chips and the claim chowder are amazing. Great location right on the wharf. The service was great and the employees were very friendly.

Service was excellent. Food was excellent. Location was excellent. Stopped for brunch. Tried the French toast. Excellent. Sat outside with an amazing view of the harbour and hundreds of boats.

I am so in Love with Ketch! Do many fabulous items on the Menu. I am so in love with the California bowl, literally the best I have ever had!! Great Margaritas!! THE most friendly staff, they are on point every time. This is definitely a must do while in the area! (I have been here everyday while on vacation😂)

A new addition to the Pt. Loma culinary scene is the Ketch Grill & Taps. Even on a blustery afternoon we enjoyed a lunch outside on the deck warmed with heaters. The heirloom tomato soup paired with a "toasty" (a grilled cheese sandwich) fed my hunger as I devoured the calm vista of sailboats, blue waters and puffy white clouds. What a treat!

We went here to grab some quick apps and drinks, then stayed for two hours. The patio over looks the water, the drinks are refreshing and unique (order the cucumber one!), and the food is a healthy filling (recommend the kale salad & buffalo cauliflower wings - 100%). The service is great, and the vibe makes for a must see place to grab a drink. There’s also a side shop outside ketch that’s a great spot for homemade ice cream and coffee!

We had a delightful evening at Ketch. The mahi and salmon entrees were delicious and the service provided by Marley was excellent! We would return in a heartbeat.

This is nice modern feel restaurant and bar. Was there for lunch – great menu, lots of fish and other traditional lunch items. The group of 6 of us all loved our meals. Fish and Chips, great seafood Louie salad, short rib melt and the swordfish over lightly fried Brussel sprout leaves was excellent. Service was excellent and staff overall very pleasant. The “open air” feel if you are inside is great but the large patio (semi covered) was awesome with views of the marina and the city skyline. The bar is very nice, went back for drink that evening with a light pleasant crowd. (Wednesday night). Thought it was great and will go again when back in the area!

Popped in here for a drink and found the bar area unfriendly and loud, obviously full of regular patrons having shouting banter with the bar staff when sat less than three feet away from them. As the bar was busy and loud we sat slightly further back at one of the high tables, thankfully one of the servers noticed and came over. The drinks were good with a reasonable selection available, we had the giant pretzels with beer cheese dip as a snack which was a tasty snack. Sadly the first impression of loud and unfriendly unless a regular means we won't be back but if you get past that point you may like the place more than us.

Our party of four stopped in for lunch and sat on the patio. Service was "ok" and we must have gotten the server that wasn't as good as the others because we didn't see her much. Other tables on the full patio seemed to get a lot of attention. Our group aren't really IPA fans so it was a bummer to see mostly IPA's on the beer list. Seltzer was ok for one of our party members. Smoked tuna salad sandwich was good. French dip was good but not enough dip and the bowl it comes in small and makes it hard to dip into when it gets low. Pretty much have to pour on the sandwich. Fondue wasn't really a fondue but a cheese dip with shrimp mixed in. Flavorful, but not what we had envisioned. Probably wouldn't return with other options in the area based on what we paid for lunch.

We had the happy hour menu items. The happy hour menu is the lunch menu with reduced prices for select items on the menu. We had appetizer food and it was real tasty. The mai-tai and beer sampler of Ketch Brewery were awesome. This restaurant was formerly the Red Sail. Ketch is a newly renovated reincarnation of the Red Sail and is worth a visit.

I used to love this place and come for lunch with my coworkers all the time but my most recent experience was super disappointing. First, I requested a booze sitting for our father's day brunch and the host Leila sit another party to the booze right in front of us even thought they got there after us. I asked to speak to the manager ( Isabella) confirmed that the party did not request the booze but got to sit there. She offered us to wait another 40 minutes for the booze (Although I had small kid and two elderly in my party) and neither her or the host never apologized for the situation. This is level of incompetence and plane rude behavior should not be tolerated in this place. Moreover, I ordered oysters and got bad food poising. Please be aware and never order seafood at this place. IT WAS NOT FRESH and gave me and one other person FOOD POISING. This place sucks.

The ambience here is very nice, with a direct view of boats, the bay, and downtown. The staff are nice and the service is pretty good. The food, not so much. My burger was supposed to be well-done, but what I got was cooked to the point of being tough as leather. Same with the onion rings, which were almost burned. And yet, it all was barely lukewarm when it arrived at the table. I've eaten there before and had better experiences, but a restaurant needs to be not only good but consistent for me to come back.

Loved coming here and trying out all the different beers and what not. The food was good and thought the price was decent.

Have been to restaurant previously. Went week after Christmas 2019. The restaurant has nice layout and deck. Menu hasn't changed much in a year not enough choice for me. I don't like spice & asked server if my entree had spice - shrimp dish- & she told me it wasn't - it was big time. We didn't enjoy our dinners. Gaggle of young women at check-in desk & our server was young & not too good; We like to eat our appetizer and then order - continual checking our entree order is not appreciated. Found out 1 company owns a hand full of restaurants on Shelter Island & that brings down quality.

Discovered this amazing and beautiful eatery while touring the Point Loma Harbour area and thought I would pop in for an early dinner. It was my first night in San Diego and it did not disappoint! Absolutely beautiful establishment, highly recommend the patio. I ordered the sea salt pretzels (I was shocked to see the size, they're HUGE!) and the Crab & Shrimp Cocktail. Delicious Seaway Rose is my new favourite slushie beverage! Staff was very friendly. Cannot say enough great things!

Really enjoyed our late lunch at Ketch - first time patron. We were able to get seated on the outside patio and had a gorgeous view of the marina. That alone would have given the restaurant a good review- ambience plus yummy food? Yes please! We found the burger to be well seasoned with crispy bacon and grilled bun. Loved the fresh cut fries. Wish we had more time to come back and enjoy other items.

Wow you guys are do lucky! I'm about to share a great happy hour place on Shelter Island. This was the old long time, Red Sails bar. Hoping to get helpful likes for this one 👍🏼 wink wink. Daily 3 to 5 happy hour. indoor/outdoor seating, marina view. Simply gorgeous patio with fire feature. Discount on drinks & food. Got the calamari, it was $2 off. Cucumber vodka cocktail also $2 off. Just to name a few. Great new place that doesn't break the wallet and get to hang at a nice bar. Friendly staff. Nice find! Cheers🍸

The prefect combination of location, view and seafood pub fare. They offer several local beers on tap. My husband had a Shrimp Po Boy which reminded him of New Orleans. I enjoyed the grilled Mahi Mahi tacos. We enjoyed a short walk along the harbor after lunch.

What a wonderful atmosphere and great views, My favorite appetizer is the calamari and the service top-notch I'm going back tomorrow

We had good food at Ketch. The location was great and it was nice to be warm while looking at the water and boats. The food was good, not exceptional, but good. We were there on an all evening happy hour. It was fun to be around a crowd of young adults (I am 69). The only complaint was our server. I have engaged with very few servers who were so extremely bored and unengaged.

Our third visit and the place is getting even better. The tables outside viewing the boats are perfect. Their beer selections are varied. Their brew is great. We had 3 couples and all were very pleased with their selection. I split the fish-n-chips with my wife. The soups and salads were nicely done. We will be back. Modern feel with locals enjoying the atmosphere.

The moden replacement for the much beloved and sadly lost Red Sails which was a great boat bum restauarant in the tranditional mode. Food was never great but who cared. New replacement is quite modern and the food is much better although not outstanding. ;Service is excllent and prices are reasonable.

I attempted to have Sunday brunch at Ketch today... Christine the assistant general manager was so unfriendly towards me and my mom. She honestly looked and acted like a dean of students at a strict boarding school. Her team of 3 teen hostesses were so disorganized in their seating arrangements it appeared as though they were managing a horse jockey team at the Del Mar Racetrack. I would never spend $1. Or go back to Ketch based on the atrocious customer service from Christine.

Terrific food, service, location. Doesn’t get any better. Familiar items on the menu but prepared differently and taste you will love and not forget. Casual.

Nice location, good food. Another Brigantine restaurant. Service pretty slow and the server Tim wasn't very attentive but fortunately the food, view and company made up for his inattention.

Until yesterday, loved the ambience, and the great customer service. Food okay. Sandwiches great, sides lackluster. Hubby asked for no sides with his tuna sandwich last week. Our fabulous waiter offered a cup of their tomato soup instead at no extra charge. This week, I asked for the same with my turkey sandwich. A cup of tomato soup instead of the two regular sides offered on a menu item clearly marked as modifiable. "Not without a $5 upcharge." Um, okay. There must have been a frightening run on the tomato soup in the last week if they're no longer willing to make a frequent customer happy by doing something that doesn't cost them one cent extra. They already surcharge just for walking into the place. We tip at least 30% when we get great customer service, as my husband is in the industry. She didn't even bother offering me a refil on my drink until we were finished with our meal. Our encounter with her and her non-existent customer service soured our experience there, therefore we will not be returning as I don't ever want her waiting on us again. I'm sure the salvaging of a precious cup of tomato soup and one less step on her part is more important to them than loyal return business. Too many tourists to keep them afloat. We'll continue to go to the Brigantine, as they seem to continue to retain a better quality of wait staff there.

Delicious appetizers, excellent service, a birthday to remember! From the time I booked my table for 11 until we gathered our things and left, Ketch did not disappoint. We enjoyed calamari, soft pretzels, brussels sprouts, and a whole lot of different entrées to celebrate a special occasion. The service was fantastic and each dish we had was exquisite. Highly recommend this restaurant!

My husband picked Ketch Grill & Tapas (Shelter Island) for his birthday lunch and couldn't stop talking about it afterwards. We would definitely go again. PROS: ~Newish modern restaurant with a view of the water and boats. ~Indoor and outdoor dining -- ideal for Covid. Outdoor dining is shaded from the sun. ~Swift, attentive non-pretentious service. ~Excellent fish entrees -- my salmon was delicious. ~Good sized portions. ~Excellent beer choices. ~Complimentary birthday cookie and ice-cream dessert. ~Nice blend of fine dining/causal/modern, away from the hubbub of central downtown. CONS: ~No private parking lot and mostly metered parking in the immediate area. ~The hostess on the front podium (She had a broken arm when we were there) was not the best person for this job as she was rather 'off' and did not set a good tone for what turned out to be a great restaurant experience. Crack a smile and be friendly! ~Reservations for a group of 4 were not accepted, however we were fortunate to only have to wait 10 minutes, despite being told it would be a 30 minute wait. Pt. Loma or Shelter Island is a nice area to walk around after your meal. If you found this review helpful, please click the thank button. :)

Good food. Great view. Great service. Good prices. Good tap selection. What else can you ask for! Would go there again without hesitation. The hot potato salad was unique and delicious.

The view is beautiful and the food was okay. I ordered the fish and chips and spicy wings. The wings were good .

The 1st floor is self seating and the second floor is restaurant style. We ate on the second floor. The views of the water or downtown are great depending on where you sit. The food was great. I had the salmon salad. Amazing. Parking wasn't free. We had no wait the Sunday afternoon we went, but there was a line forming when we left. My daughter who is vegan had the buffalo califlower and said it was good. Triple threat: Great service, great atmosphere and great food.

My guests from out-of-town searching for restaurants with vegan options for a late lunch found this newly opened restaurant. Its beautiful dinning room opens onto the Shelter Island marina. The menu is creative and will appeal to everyone from hard-core meat-eaters to pescatarians, to vegans. My friends had a veggie burger and vegan tacos on blue corn tortillas. I had the ahi tuna poke bowl. Each was a unique and delightful creation and each of us was very happy with our selection. We shared an order of blue corn chips with mashed avocado and salsa. The blue corn chips are made there fresh from house-made blue corn tortillas and they came to the table still hot. They also have a great selection of craft beers on tap. The staff were also wonderful, and made this a perfect dinning experience.

This was a convenient spot for a casual dinner near our hotel. Amanda was our server and was very attentive and professional. The grilled new york steak was excellent. The Picatta Sand Dabs were good and went well with the IPA Fish& Chips. The blackberry smasi was very refreshing, the Rye Old Fashioned was good and the Kamakura a delight. Definitely will return next time in San Diego.

It appears there are TWO locations of Ketch both on the bay in San Diego. I went to the Harbor location downtown. Menu was great. I had the fish, shrimp platter. The shrimp were EXCELLENT as was the fish. Great fries too. You can sit and watch the harbor or take away.

Stopped in for a meal on a Saturday evening and was impressed by the views over the bay/marina but not impressed by the crowd. The place was packed with folks having a good time but the din made it almost impossible to talk to your table mates. The food was good and prices reasonable.

We ate here twice. Loved the atmosphere and food. I had a Kale salad that was amazing. It was so good I had it again the next day. We also had the tuna melt that was equally as good. Best we ever had. The next night had the steak which was cooked to perfection. The wait staff was very helpful making suggestions and were right on with what was delicious. I would eat here again.

We had a 1:00 sailing reservation, so wanted to eat someplace nearby on the water. Ketch fit the bill for exactly what we were looking for. It's a beautiful open air restaurant with both indoor and outdoor dining. We had to wait a little bit to get a table, but our server made sure our food came out quickly which was much appreciated. We ate outside by the marina and were able to watch the sailboats come and go. I had mahi fish tacos with coleslaw and homemade kettle chips. My husband had a kale and farro salad. We enjoyed everything we ordered and even got drinks to go to enjoy on our sailing excursion. This is a pleasant place to dine if you're in the area. I'd recommend making a reservation if you're coming at a busy time.

The first trip to this new restaurant on Shelter Island which is owned by The Brigantine. Both times I have not been impressed with the quality of the food. I ordered steamed clams and poke bowl. Both items were tasteless and small portions for the money. She had a salad and I had clams and poke to the sum of $46.00 plus tip. No drinks ordered. Too many other seafood places in the area that serves up tasty and reasonalby priced food. As for service at the Ketch, nothing to write home about in this area.

We had 3 dishes at Ketch last night—2 were good, 1 could have been better. The clam chowder was very good, well seasoned with clams in the shell and surprisingly no bacon. I had fish & chips with a really well balanced tartar sauce that topped off fresh fish and fries that weren’t just an afterthought—overall better than most. The downfall was the calamari—cornmeal crust sounded good, but may have contributed to it being overdone so that the result was a rubbery texture. Other things that contributed to 4 stars were the service which was attentive and a wait that was only 15 minutes compared to the 35 original estimation—a nice surprise. There’s a full bar, a nice wine list and a large selection of craft beers. On a side note, servers in general need to work on their authenticity. As opposed to the overused “absolutely” after every request or statement, our server said, “thanks for your patience, folks” about 5 times throughout our meal—after a short wait to be seated, to order, to have food delivered and so on. It began to make him sound like a robot rather than the friendly guy he turned out to be after a short conversation about the restaurant’s history...it’s been there about a year with a current trendy decor and a view of the harbor on Shelter Island, close to the airport and our hotel. It’s worth a try!

We enjoyed a wonderful meal at this Shelter Island restaurant. The view of the bay was so nice while we ate delicious food- the fish and chips tasted fresh and flavorful. Our server, Taylor was super nice and gave us fantastic service.

When arriving with a reservation- I felt the greeting lack luster - there was no offer to sit outside and we were not lead to an area where the view would have added to the ambiance - directed to a dark boot- the CRISPY BUFFALO CAULIFLOWER appetizer was average and I felt the same about my BLACKENED SWORDFISH my adult daughter really enjoyed her SHRIMP ANDOUILLE LINGUINI - on the other hand the drinks were fairly reasonable since we caught the tail end of "happy four"

Had an outside table on the waterfront. Lovely views. I really wanted to like this place. Sadly, it was mediocre at best. Ordered short rib sandwich and it was drenched with mayonnaise after I asked to hold the horseradish sauce. The kettle chips were super greasy...inedible but the potato salad was good. The flavor of the meat on the sandwich was good but there was very little of it...mostly bread. They add a 4%surcharge to your bill for??? Probably won't go back. Too overpriced for what you get and flavor just ok.

Our family, friends and all my co-workers are so excited to have a cool new place to eat on the Harbor. Point Loma needed a place like this! The vibe is great! The outdoor seating is amazing! The staff is awesome! This review is now based off of having experienced all three meals. Several of us have talked about Ketch and feel that these are some areas which needs improvement.... 1.The food is good/not amazing. 2. I know this sounds dumb but the food come out way too quickly. When you order an appetizer, it comes out quickly which is great but you don't get to enjoy good conversation before the meal comes out and you have to choose what to eat instead of enjoying one coarse at a time. 3. Because it seems like the focus is on how quickly the food comes out...the food lacks amazing flavor and a bit of quality. The french toast is not good,. The bread is basically dry and although it looks amazing it is not good and the syrup is cold. The menu is a fun menu but they really they need some people to come in and give honest feedback so they can step it up from average food with an amazing view to amazing food with an amazing view. I know this wont affect visitors too much because they will come and go but for the locals this is not yet a gold-mind and we really want it to be! We believe in you!

Drinks and early supper as our friends have very early jobs. Excellent drinks, happy hour, and seafood very good. Nice views.

My most favorite spot on Shelter Island. Food is consistently good and they offer gluten free options which essential for me. Great bar tenders and server. Great view and ambiance.

We enjoyed lovely dinner at Ketch. Burger was big, quick service and very clean, tidy place, which we apprciated a lot. Nice arhmosphere!!

We walked from our hotel to this restaurant. We had a steak and a fish and chips and the food was pretty good. The table was near the water and we had a nice view of the boats and harbor. Our rating is lower because of the atmosphere and service. It seemed like automation and efficiency took precedence over service. The hostess and server loudly discussed table switches before we were seated. A young person with a grey hoodie wandered through the room every 10 minutes checking out each person's table and entering something on a tablet. Although other tables were waited on quite often, our waitress was difficult to find and she ran off when the hoodie lady said "7 minutes". Then a person dressed like a chef/cook started randomly removing plates. He looked lost a bit. Our check was dropped off quickly with little said and we used the pay-youself QR code because it would have been another 10-15 minutes to get someone to take a card. (we do like the QR codes but it took a long time to get that too!). It's too bad that the good food and good view were lost to the distractions of efficiency.

had some awesome calamari great cider beer. very good service. i was able to sit at the bar and have dinner

Wow, what a fun place! We came in for a beer (their Rip Current Marine Layer Hefe is outstanding, yum!) and decided to share a fish and chips. They were awesome (sorry we ate then before considering a photo). Happy hour from 3-5pm weekdays, great atmosphere, ample outdoor dining overlooking the harbor and good service. We give it a 5!!! Try it!

Delicious food, fabulous service (Natalie was fun, helpful and took great care of us). Atmosphere was wonderful. We were so pleased with our entire experience.

Bit of a spur of the moment choice to dine here as restaurant at BW+ round the corner not up to much. Have to confess I misread the name and thought it was tapas!!! Ha husband prefered the Taps. Bigger than it looks to be from outside and has an outdoor area too with a view. We stayed inside, too cold out there for me. Busy Thursday night, but got a table without reservation. Service and information through out was very good. Husband had tuna, very good, I had a side salad of apple and beets - nice combo with a side of fries. Not a great menu for vegetarians but I managed. (not just here either) We both had (cant remember what it was called) a mini apple crumble with ice cream very nice. Own brew beer so a flight of four had to be had apparently. Good evening

Great food and atmosphere! All the food was great. We got 3 different entrees, the clam chowder and ceviche. There’s not many options for the non-seafood lovers but the short ribs were amazing. Outdoor seating was nice with plenty of heaters around.

We were walking on Shelter Island and noticed this place and decided to try it for dinner! In the front it just looks like a trendy bar, which it is but big surprise out back to sit right on the harbor amongst the boats. We all ordered something different, I got a salad with squash, pine nuts, cucumber and all kinds of lovely things I can not remember but it was a very different incredible mix of things. It was perfectly complemented by a creamy dressing. My husband ordered the seafood cakes, fries and cornbread Madelines which came with a berry sauce and a honey miso sauce which sounds very strange but it worked. Very nice. My son had a burger and he said it was delish. I think this place has just opened, I don't know how we managed to find it but it will be on our list as a must go now whenever we are in San Diego! It is actually owned by the owners of Miguels and Brigatine which are right in the area and also some of our favorite places too, although each one is so vastly different than the other. This is for sure and trendy place to gather, places for large groups to hang out and a very fun vibe! Give it a try, you'll love it. (Also, next door is a gelato coffee shop, that seems to be part of the same ownership. Ill try to figure out the name and review that too. Great gelato and coffee shop. Open from like 6am to 9 pm!)
Average at best
In the home of the old Red Sails Inn is the Brigantine owned Ketch. The remodel, bayside deck and view are gorgeous. Go for that and the drinks. They have some nice mixed drink specialties. Service was also very good. Kudos to the hostesses for being friendly, attentive and caring. Unfortunately, the food brought home the point that Ketch is corporate managed. Oysters were flavorless, served with ketchup and had broken shells. They were also described as large, but were some of the smallest Blue Points and Fanny Bays I have seen. Sand dabs were pre-prepped and cooked from frozen. What the heck is that about? Fish and chips were more batter than fish (but the chips were nice). All in all, not worth the calories. are gorgeous.
