We were looking for a good burger on our way through Portland and Killer Burger was right on our way. I liked the place a lot, very hip, and the burgers and fries were generous and tasty. It was a little too much food, and it was all pretty greasy--I felt pretty gross in the hours after eating there. It's very good, just know what you're getting into.

I tried the peanut butter burger but also tried a bit of the kids burger. Hands down the best burger I've ever had. Wish I lived near a killer burger. The music is very loud and aggressive so I recommend getting it to go or eating at the out side seating. Prices are very good for the quality.

Never in a million years would I have guessed that adding peanut butter to a burger, let alone anything would be good. But at Killer Burger, they are GREAT! I had seen this combo done on a traveling food critic's show and thought it looked interesting but much too gross to try. I gave it a go and am SO glad that I did! The combination of sweet and salt was actually amazing. They have a wide array of burgers in all shapes and sizes and combination. One they call the Marine they actually tell you NOT to order. You have to sign a waiver before eating since it has ghost peppers in it and very few have been able to tackle it! I absolutely love a good burger and have been to many over my lifetime always in the pursuit of one that will meet my high criteria. This restaurant is small, you usually have to wait for a table and it is always busy. But, they fix 'em up fast and with delicious fries at no extra charge. Reasonably priced, Worth the drive, worth the wait, worth eating standing up if you have to! Hands down, one of my favorite places two states wide!

Okay so if you're like me who loves a great burger & beer this spot is perfect for you! Cheap price, cool dim setting. And if you order the Killer burger you'll get bottomless fries!

Boyfriend had the peanut butter pickle bacon burger (His favorite in the world) and I had the barnyard burger, both exceptionally tasty in their own way. The French fries were hot and delicious, and I highly recommend the dill ranch dipping sauce to go with it!

Bacon is standard at Killer Burger. It is not optional or an add on. Can I just say that my husband and son-in-law were in heaven... We stumbled on Killer Burger by accident. We were hungry and the GPS said it was the closest restaurant to our location. Nice big, juicy, homemade burgers. Did I mention they came with bacon? In my opinion, Killer Burger did indeed serve killer burgers.

You can't bet this restaurant for a great burger and fries. They have quite a selection of burgers and the fries were hot and crispy. You order at the counter and they will bring to your table. The atmosphere is really good. Friendly staff, clean facility and good rock n roll music. If you want a casual meal while in downtown Portland - check it out!

I went to the killer burger inside moda arena. It was a welcome surprise to have a tasty burger at what I thought was a reasonable price. Normally stadium food is super expensive and super boring! The service was very quick. We had the peanut butter pickle burger which was tasty!

Good burgers and lovethe all you can eat fries. Certainly a cool vibe. loud music, burgers, fries etc- what could go wrong!

This is an awesome burger! Crazy hour 2 to 5 $4.95 for a burger and fries. Both are delish. bacon is crispy house sauce is amazing. Definately in my top 5 burgers.

I loved this burger. To set the tone, I'm a huge fan of In N Out Burger and this rivals it. Their "special sauce" is different than any sauce I've had. All their burgers come with Fries and Bacon! The burgers are big! If you want less food go petite (it's on the back side of the menu, saves you some $$ and probably more than enough burger for most people).

Really hungry for a hamburger. Decided to visit this new downtown location. Clean, friendly staff and brought to your table the minute the order is ready. No sitting around getting soggy. Really hit the spot despite the fact I thought they were flame broiled and not grilled. Didn't hurt it however because the meat had a nice caramelization so the flavor was there. I had the Classic with raw onions instead of grilled. Crisp greens, crunchy pickle, not an overpowering sauce and crisp bacon. I would place this burger in the upper levels of Portland burgers however.... my next burger will be somewhere else just because there are so many more options in Portland to try. Very competitive business these days .

Noisy, messy, loud music. Friends and colleagues thought it was great. So I went. The burgers are greasy, the service is good. Now I don't ever need to go back.

If you want a unique burger with green chiles, this is the place. Also, the French fries are crispy and well-cooked.

Most amazing cheese burgers!!! The meat had a char on both sides, perfectly toasted buns, the burger was well assembled, fries crispy and delicious, only $11.75 for bacon burger and fries!! Restaurant was clean and friendly service!

Not sure how the food is. We parked in front of the store next door and upon exiting our vehicle we could hear very loud music. As we approached the front door of Killer Burger, the music got louder and louder. Upon opening the door our ears were assaulted with a blast of noise. Finally able to yell loud enough to ask the waitress if this was normal and she said yes, so we left. It was 12:15pm mid-week and the restaurant was completely empty... perhaps they should turn the music down?

Enjoyed a Teemah and fries. Tasty flavors, quality ingredients, and friendly people made my day. Look forward to a return visit!

Great burger joint. Cool atmosphere inside. Small place inside. Extra seating outside. The food is great and big with the locals.

When someone asks what my favorite restaurant is, Killer Burger is what first comes to mind. I love many of Portland's wonderful restaurants but I seriously love this food. I eat a strict diet all week just so I can "cheat" at Killer Burger. My favorite is the Peanut Butter Pickle (sans onions), as their peanut butter is housemade. I've tried all the burgers and they are all great. I'm not a huge french fry person but I do love their fries. The "girly" size is a great option too and is still plenty of food. I recommend calling ahead 20 minutes if you want to pick up. Inside is crowded and you will leave smelling like an oil fryer. It is unfortunate they are closed on Sundays.

Delicious, hip, and clean. I had the peanut butter pickle burger and it did not disappoint. I'm not a fry lover but theirs were fantastic. The place was about three quarters full and it took a good 15 minutes for our order to show up. Quality takes time and I appreciate the hot, fresh burgers from this place.

I was very excited to try Killer Burger after seeing a number of great reviews. I ordered the burger that came with mushrooms, bacon, and "Swiss cheese." I was completely reviled when the burger that was served had the fake "swiss cheese food" product. It a gloppy, tasteless, gooey substance that bears little resemblance to Swiss cheese. I won't order American "cheese" because it is essentially the same chemical laden stuff. However, if had been labeled properly, I could have ordered a burger without it. The burger itself was "OK." Pretty greasy, very salty. I won't go back.

I'm what you could call a bit of a burger connoisseur.....We have spent a lot of time in the US and I love trying new burger joints. On this trip Portland was our last stop & thought no better excuse but to try a new burger joint. I really liked killer burger but it wasn't the best I've had & I'm sure there will be better in the future. The place is more like an upmarket fast food joint. The burgers are very good don't get me wrong, but they could be slightly bigger & room for improvement. Well worth a visit though & I really enjoyed it.

Holy cow. This place is awesome. Super chill staff, great music (kinda loud but that's cool with me), awesome beers on tap, outdoor and indoor seating and the most delicious delectable and downright perfect burgers in Portland! They're messy but that's also why they're so good. Plus there's paper towels on the table for those of you that can't handle flavor all over your hands. The fries are crazy good too AND bottomless. I tried to convince myself to go to a different burger place but just ended up coming back here every time. Fun Guy with an extra patty and chili peppers is the perfect burger. Gotta give my man Nick a shoutout for being a great server and just an all around legit dude. GO HERE FOR BURGERS.

My husband and I went to their new downtown Portland location, 1 of 5 now? This newer location has a full bar and great variety of beers on tap, even a cider. I was more than impressed with how nice the staff was...the cook came out to help answer questions, the bartender was so nice and fun to chat with and the server/cashier(s) were all great. Their burgers haven't changed a bit. The peanut butter burger is still my all time favorite. Will go back and continue to take our friends there.

Viva, Jose Mendoza. The Killer Burger named in your honor sizzles with taste. Roasting the chiles gives them a depth of flavor they just don't have otherwise. The jack cheese was the perfect accompaniment, along with grilled onions. The burger itself was crispy on the outside but not overcooked. And the bacon added to every burger they serve takes it off the planet. The fries were also excellent. Sized in-between McDonald's style and steak fries, they were evenly cooked and had a perfect consistency. The Sandy store is pretty cramped and you're likely to wait in line to order and wait for a table, but it's well worth it.

Indulge yourself here with an awesome burger and fries. Definitely satisfies that burger comfort food spot. Yum

Pretty much anything you want on a burger they have it -- burgers are cooked well - and very tasty and quite huge -- even have the choice of grilled or raw onions -- if you are in the mood for a really good burger - you need to hit this place

Best burgers of our trip, washed down with a couple of beers from a great selection. Friendly staff. Rock n roll vibe in the restaurant - we preferred the tables outside.

Took hubby here today for the first time. I love this place purely to sit back and watch the crew work. They all seem to love their job and interacting with customers. The house was a rockin and they were singing with AC/DC while they were working the grill. The place was packed as usual for lunch. We both had the peanut butter burger. It is such a great taste combo and the hubster was not disappointed. I'm sure we will both still be full way past dinner time. Great food and good times.

this one makes me so hungry just typing this. This has to be my favorit burger place ever. All of their locations are very small and crowded and loud but the burgers are worth the wait.

As the title suggests, I tend to be pretty skeptical at anything that is labeled as "world's best" or "killer burgers." And yet, we decided to drop in on a pass through Bingen. And we are glad we did. They offer a great selection of unusual burgers...peanut butter, metro, black molly, old school, etc. Near as we can tell, they are all dynamite. The fries were especially good as well. And did I mention the incredible selection of local / regional beers! Really a fantastic lunch. Two of us ate more than enough food, we each had a beer, and the total was $25.00. This one is highly recommended.

The best burger ever. I am from San Diego and we have some good burger places but killer Burger is one of the best I have had in a long time. . Next time I am in portland I will be back. The staff that work there are great to.

Killer Burger has all the great beer and burgers that you find at every Killer Burger Place. But this location has a very small room. So seating is limited and the room is far from spacious. This is like a walk in closet that serves meals. If you can deal with the small room, then you might like having a meal here. If not then go to one of their other locations instead.

Checked out KB as they were listed as a GF friendly burger joint. They offer their burgers without buns... so, ok. The burger is, hands down, one of the best I've ever had, Very tasty. However, within 30 minutes of eating, my celiac disease was kicking in, and I will unfortunately not be able to eat there again. So.. for those of you who don't have celiac, check it out! Yummy! GF folks... you should avoid. Sorry.

I went here for my birthday and got myself the Peanut Butter Bacon Pickle Burger and found it to be just average. I do think though that some of their other burgers might be good. I also do think that their music is too loud to have a conversation with anyone in there and suggest probably sitting outside unless you want to enjoy the music.

Rolled in with my boy mikee D.he said the burgers were fat and he wasn't lieing Bomb is more like it we mobbed it.thats him in the pic

I Love this place! I Love the atmosphere, staff and GREAT choices of burgers. The quality is ALWAYS excellent, except for the processed Swiss cheese on my burger yday. My tastebuds were ready to taste the real food and the processed stuff upset my stomach! My lesson to learn: Ask!!! I will still return and highly recommend this GREAT stop!

I went to lunch with a friend. The burgers was very good, but the music was so loud conversation was not possible. Folks at the surrounding tables were all staring bleary eyed at their cell phones . The staff was unable or unwilling to adjust the volume so we left as soon as possible. If I ever go again I will wear ear plugs.

This might have been the best burger I've ever had. I had The Purist, and even as simple as it was it was phenomenal. The unlimited fries also doesn't suck, but the burger was so good and filling that one serving was really enough. Seriously, if you like beef, go here.

As a burger place, the options in burger toppings are unique. Kind of the Salt & Straw (Portland Ice cream place) of hamburgers. The atmosphere was loud, and a little crowded for my tastes, perhaps more suited for the "younger crowd". I tried the Barnyard, (an imitation of another Portland burger landmark) which was ok, but not as good as the other place. The Girlie size burgers are great for those without the room for the regular size. The other three people in the party thought the burgers were "OK" but the fries were GREAT! Bottom line, loud, crowded, busy, geared to the younger crowd, great fries, good burgers, but not the best in Portland.

A day later I'm still feeling happy, body and mind, about my Epic Burger at Killer Burgers. While the selection is small, it's good and not boring. They have delicious burgers in combos that I have never seen anywhere before. DH enjoyed the peppy Jose Mendoza burger packed with green chilies and jack cheese. We arrived just before 5 pm to see the flat top full of sizzling bacon, a welcome sign. Topped it off with efficient service and a good brew. The atmosphere and price tag are Portland casual, the music is loud, the burgers: YES.

I liked it enough to return a few times because the bacon is free, meat is good and you can literally get it anyway you want. However, the music is now SO LOUUUUUUD that we couldn't hear ourselves talk. They refused to turn it down at all. The next time we went, they had a sign that said, "NO ......we will NOT turn down the music" when I asked them why they play it so loud that they have to put up a sign like that, I was offered ear plugs with no other reply. When I said, "but with ear plugs, we still can't converse" I was informed that there was a McDonalds just a few blocks away. I like the burger, the fries are standard meh fries but the crazed attitude is a turn off. We will get them to go sometime probably but certainly never eat there again. EVER.

7.95 to 8.95 for fabulous burgers WITH sea salted fries. And a happy hour with 4.95 for the classic burger with fries. We really love this place. My husband loved the "Barnyard" that has egg and bacon. Still 8.95. I love the peanut butter sauce burger that has bacon and pickles and their own house made peanut sauce. It is really good. I want to try the one with chiles and their own chile sauce. We finally tried it about 6 weeks ago and we have since taken 3 sets of friends and they loved it too. Very casual, paper towel rolls at your table, and all you can drink pop. This is the place for burgers now.

The burgers here are amazing. The great thing is that all burgers come with a side of fries. Great choices of different kinds of burgers. We tried several different varieties and found all of them to be absolutely delicious. The staff was friendly. The service was quick.

The burger options at Killer are magnificent! I might not come up with some of the combos they offer, but they all work. We recently ordered burgers for our family for carry out. The order was exactly as expected, the burgers and fries were hot and fresh, and the box they come in is recyclable! A+

Went to Killer Burger in Hollywood and totally loved the place. Went between 2&5 and got the classic killer burger and fries for $6.99 and drink for $1.00. Best burger ever, so juicy and big. The fries were as good as the burger as they cook them fresh with the burger. Loud music which I enjoyed and I'm in my 60's. Even the workers seemed to enjoy what they were doing. Will definitely return to killer burger next time I'm in Portland.

The lunch rush will tell you how great this place is for a great burger. As a result we usually go 1t either 11:30 or at 1 so we don't have a long wait. The service is very good, it's just that the crowd overwhelms the tables if you cannot sit outside. The portions are large and they will refill fries as much as you want. Consider splitting a burger or choosing the "girlie" if you can't finish. My favorite is the signature Peanut butter - and it MUST be tried.

Great burgers and fries!!! I, always get the Mama burger, big enough for me!! My son, loves the bacon, pickle, peanut butter hamburger!!

Killer Burger reviews itself with its name! The burgers are "killers". I decided to go with the traditional "Killer Burger". It has a 1/3 pound patty, bacon, cheese, lettuce, grilled onion, tomato, pickle and House Sauce. I didn't pay close enough attention to the menu.... and to my surprise, every burger come with Fries. The special thing about this burger is the way it is "smushed" and fried. It has an almost crispy texture on the edges that is "to die for". It is not a great place for low cholesterol or low calories, but once in a while, it is fun to indulge! You can order a "Girlie" burger if you want a smaller version or a "Kids Killer Basket" or Garden Patty.... but Hey, this is "Killer Burger" after all.

We recently stopped in while wandering about Portland during a very long layover on our way home. Our choice to stop in was random and we were pleasantly surprised. The woman that took our order was very engaging and made my day with her smile. Their menu was fun and the service was fast. Somehow we were served burgers that we didn't order but, boy were they good. We were really tired and it took us a few bites to figure out that we didn't have the right burgers. The waitress showed up at the same time we realized we had the wrong burgers and insisted that we eat the burgers we had and that we take along the other burgers along with about 3 pounds of fresh, hot, crispy fries. I have to repeat, the food was great and the people working there were beautiful. Especially the woman with the orange hair.

Great little place that is kicking out some excellent burgers! Not a lot of seating inside but really well thought out use of space. The staff was friendly and efficient. Good heavy music playing and my burger was on point. I couldn't have asked for a final meal before heading home from Portland. Loved this city and this meal.

Killer Burger is the hands-down best in town because they focus only on burgers. There are about 10 options from classic to super hot with every add-on you can think of and more. Peanut butter? Yes. Hot peppers? Yes. Somehow they get the proportion of bread, meat and sloppiness exactly right. The fries are equally delicious. Soft drinks and beers on tap are drink options. The burger is 6" in diameter so you'd better be hungry! This is a small restaurant with find your own seating inside where the music is loud and a big screen has a game on. In nice weather, you can sit on picnic benches outside on the sidewalk. You can also get your burger to go. There is a small parking lot behind the building but its usually full since it is shared with Pal's Shanty which is next door. There is street parking up 47th.

We found this place through a quick search on tripadvisor upon arriving in Portland. The menu is simple but effective and satisfying. The burgers are great as are the fries.

Went here on a Thursday night. Parking was fine. Order at the counter. Cheerful staff. Quick service. Menu is intriguing with lots of choices on the chalkboard. Burger was a weird shape and not particularly juicy. The blue cheese was an odd processed slice. Tasty enough, just not as spectacular as I was expecting of a place so highly rated by Zagat and TA. Still, worth a try if you're close by.

This local joint opened not too long ago in Sellwood and they have done wonderful job in creating a simple, yet eclectic menu. I visited during lunch-time and the place was fairly busy. My order was taken quickly and I only had to wait for about 8 minutes for my burger. It was cooked perfectly on their griddle and the homemade peanut butter was a perfect condiment. Will definitely return and try their other menu items.

After not finding anything that sounded good to eat during the last night we were Portland, we decided to stop at Killer Burger. At first when I saw the PEANUT-BUTTER-PICKLE-BACON burger - I was like "no....don't do it"...but boy and I glad I did! The combo of the sweet peanut butter, tang of the pickle and smokiness of the bacon makes this, well a truly KILLER burger! I know it sounds weird but this combo really works! Next time you are in Portland try it....you won't be disappointed!

Great meal with awesome burgers. Kids enjoyed the kids meals and they were gone in a flash. Both adults had their specialty burgers which were perfect.

The peanut sauce on the burger seems like a terrible idea on paper, but is dam delicious in reality. The service is great and has a good atmosphere. The give you a hefty portion for the price. Only complaint is they don't have milkshakes.

This is a cool, small burger specialty shop that delivers what it promises - killer burgers. A great experience for any burger lover. My two burger loving sons always ask to go here when we visit Portland. One warning: Be hungry. The burgers are really substantial. You will not be disappointed.

I had super high expectations for Killer Burger and they were almost meet. Great athmosphere, good burger and average fries.

Hard to say what I didn't much like, but I just wasn't all that impressed. I've read raving reviews, but I don't get it.

Does what it says on the tin- great burger joint, juicy burgers and some pretty good combinations. Pick your burger, bottomless fries, and everything comes with bacon. If that's what you're after, this is definitely your spot! Tight little restaurant, and grunge feel, worth coming back to!

Went and grapped a burger at this place because we had heard good things, and read some reviews. Did not dissapoint! Didn't have a huge number of specialty burgers, but you could custom order with your own choices for extras. Most burgers came with bacon, as did mine, plus fried jalepenos, cheese and siracha sauce. Spicy and very good. Lots of fries with each order. Could be a cholestrol hazzard if eaten too often, but will probably go back when I am in Portland again.

This place did not disappoint. Great neighborhood. The inside is very urban and a little dingy but it goes with the whole burger joint theme. Ordered the bleu cheese burger and it was amazing. Easily top 3 burger that I've ever had. Service was friendly and order was fairly quick but not rushed. Fun atmosphere. Hope to return some day.

Best name for the best burger. Great selection even for the picky eater. We have been visiting In Portland for two months and have been here several times, usually for take out, but just the same, the food is always delicious.

This is one of the best burgers in Portland - actually the best I've had in Portland. I've been looking for a great burger for 10 years and finally found it. The Peanut Butter Pickle Bacon burger is amazing. The peanut butter sauce is out of this world. Just eat is as they intend - you won't regret it. They have great happy hour prices and pretty fast service. The fries are pretty good too except I almost never eat any because the burger fills me up before I can even get to the fries. The staff is super nice and they do take phone orders to go.

C'mon guys! the town is littered with "best ever, the biggest, wowzer, the most best" burgers in town... it's not enough to have a great burger, great service matters, nice surroundings matter and care matters... Killer Burger is okay and if "wham, bam and thank you mam" is your style you will love it... The prices are right in there but the food scene up and down Sandy is changing and there are more and more very nice lunch places to choose from (like Teriyaki Town) down the street... I'm sorry to be grumpy about Killer Burger but...

I wanted a burger and they do have them! I did have to work for it coming and going. I am not sure if it was my shoes or just the floor, but it was greasy and I felt like I was on ice. Fairly good amount of burger options, but nothing like Zombie Burger in Des Moines. Very crowded, but we found a seat after ordering at the counter. Fairly quick service. The burger was done very well and the fries were hot and tasty. Just what you'd expect! I successfully negotiated the slip and slide floor on the way out without a spectacular fall!

Great burger, great price. Small eating area so a bit crowded. By far, one of the best burgers I have eaten.

My friends and I went there last night, first, they have parking at the back, so that's great, then we went inside, the song they play is very 'active', made me thinking like im back to school, sorta mumbling the lyrics couple times which is good to feel young, the burger is not bad too, couple things, I think they use frozen fries, if they make fresh, that would be much better, also, we went there at 7:15ish, almost half of the chairs got put on the table, my friend thought it closed when we walk pass the side window, i think they would miss couple customer if they keep doing that.

I love how they let you do a "Girlie Burger" which is any of there creative burgers but have the size!!! The Burger was great cooked to perfection. The fries were hott not the best I've had but anytime there hot I can eat fries all day. I ordered the Girlie Killer Burger of course with Bacon. One day I will be brave and order the peanut butter burger. FYI if you have peanut allergies this will not be your place to eat. Definetly will visit again soon.

A visiting Australian friend and I stopped here on a Mt. Adams fall colors loop. She is a fan of American hamburgers and declares these the best she's ever eaten. I agree! There is a Killer Burger in Portland, but this one in Bingen is equally good. This is the place you can get peanut-butter-pickle-bacon burger, if you are so inclined, although I had the Jose Mendoza with roasted green chillies. Fabulous. Every burger includes bacon and french fries, and there were 11 local beers on tap. If a giant burger is too much, you can "girlie" size any burger (which I did; I'm tired of monstrous portions which leave diners painfully full). Great concept. Service was exceptionally friendly, and the place is obviously a local hangout.

Stopped here on the way out to the airport. Loved it from the moment we opened the door and the energy of this place hits you. Lots of good burgers to choose from. Also has a nice rotating selection of local beers. Not a quiet place but it shouldn't be. The music adds to the energy.

I guess I get that it is fun to hear loud music while you work but don't try to actually try to carry on a conversation with your customers , they should just have tablets to order or sighs you can point at . It's obnoxious for a eating place where you want to talk over a meal with your friends and family. ***The burgers are great and the fries are always hot . Enough said . -We shall see in a few years if the employee end up suing for loss of hearing . I'll watch the news -

When I heard about the peanut butter, pickle, bacon burger with mayo, I was very skeptical. Wouldn't you be? Well. Let me tell you, it was amazing. I consider myself a burger snob, only liking burgers that are well seasoned and delicious. I can honestly say, this burger combination is the best I've ever had. Surprisingly, the peanut butter sauce goes perfectly with the pickles, bacon, and mayo. I don't care of you don't like any of those things I mentioned, because you will LOVE this PBPB burger.

Simple menu, not so simple tastes! Amazing burger, love the buns as well. Bottomless fries, although could barely get through what came in my basket, can't imagine getting more! And "make it a fatty"? Adding another delicious patty in this thing would be just too much. This location is classic Portland, from the pierced and tattooed workers to the eclectic decor.

I love Killer Burger. These are the best burgers in the world. I think about them all of the time, in the morning, the middle of the night, and when I am at work. I am not a big eater so I order the Kids Burger basket, it is a perfect size. The taste is sooo delicious. Helpful service. I wish their music wasn't quite so loud, otherwise perfect.

This was my first -- and definitely won't be my last -- visit to Killer Burger! I live nearby and the smells had been tempting me for several years but I simply hadn't gotten around to trying it until a former coworker chose it as a meeting place for lunch. We arrived slightly before the typical lunch rush, so had a good choice of seating (at this location, there are only about 30 seats). My friend recommended any number of the burgers but we both ended up going with the Killer Burger with slight modifications. Our meal was produced quickly and accurately. The meat was properly cooked and generous without being overwhelming, and the add-ins were fresh. The fries are great, too! I ended up also ordering a to-go order for my guy, and he was very pleased with it, too.

Parking is at a premium and there's usually a wait, but after one bite of the peanut butter burger you will forget all about these minor inconveniences. It's not really peanut butter but more of an Asian peanut sauce. It marries with the dill pickles, mayo, and bacon (yes bacon!) fantastically. The buns are firm and chewy on the outside and soft and pillowy on the in. The burger meat itself is not your run of the mill, bland, frozen, hockey puck, but rather starts out as a fresh, pink ball which the cooks flatten out into a patty right on the grill. Oh and did I mention all burgers come with bacon unless specified! Awesome! And if you tired of big, flimsy, soggy, grease fries, KB serves up some of the best fries in town. A perfect accompaniment to their most excellent burgers. I was thinking like you are right now, "those PB burgers have to be an acquired taste", acquire one and find out for yourself!! I wake up hungry for this hamburger...

First off, I'm not a burger person, I prefer chicken sandwiches or salads. That said, after apartment hunting with my girls and not having had any breakfast, by 2pm we were hungry and we picked Killer Burgers. I wish I lived here again, because this is a place I'd go to whenever I got the chance. It was their version of "happy hour" so the regular price of the "Killer Burger" while not at all overpriced in any way, was $3 less than the usual. I ordered that and a dark microbrew. Also not a beer drinker, but was very pleasantly surprised at the rich, robust, but not overly bitter flavor. The burger came with everything on it, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, and crisp, tasty bacon. That hardly seems adequate in describing it, it was LOADED!! Literally so big, I could barely get my mouth over it. Juicy, sloppy and wonderful. Came with fries, and those didn't disappoint either; perfectly crisp on the outside and hot and tasty on the inside. The best combination of both. The restaurant itself is small, with 10-12 tables inside and 4 or 5 outside. 70's music played, there was a wide screen TV up on the wall, and a steady stream of customers. The ambiance is perfect small town neighborhood cafe, set in the big city. Steve took our order, was very helpful with suggestions, and checked on us towards the end of the meal to see how we were doing. The cost of three burgers with fries and drinks came to $25, which I thought was just great for the caliber of food.

My friend would not let me leave Portland without trying Killer Burger. Glad he didn't... they definitely made my Top 10 for Burger Joints. I ordered the Fun Guy: mushroom and melted swiss, bacon, smokey house sauce, grilled onions and pickles. Made it a "Fatty" (meaning, I added another beef patty". Fries included with it; drink separate. Total cost: $15. Was it worth it? Oh heck yes! The burger was the definition of flavorful. The fries were perfectly seasoned. I can still taste it nearly a week later, no joke. And it was very filling... even for this big eater. If you dine in, fries are unlimited. But seating was limited, so we did take-out. This particular venue was pretty small, but very clean. Friendly staff. Burgers were freshly prepared, so our to-go order took 5-10 minutes to receive; well worth the wait. Overall, I was impressed. I wish they had these in Maryville... lol!

Great burger~ just as I expected! Delicious and I was not disapointed. I agree with mauilovermomoftwo, the music was a little on the loud side. I was with a rather large group and we were served up together~ amazing service. Friendly cooks... clean restaurant and good beer.

I had the classic and it was huge with bacon and came with fries for just 7.95. Great deal. Plus tasted great. The music is a little loud otherwise I would have given it a 5 for atmosphere. Looks like the workers are having fun too. It does take a while to get you burger though so don't be in a rush.

OK I had been waiting a while to go here on the recommendation of my Concert Buddy "S" I was kind of sad I waited so long cause I go by there all the time. So I park and walk up. Its a really nice day and they have tables outside so I am thinking I will be eating outside. That was until I got near the door and heard the Hard Rock Music and changed my mind. Yeah its load but where else can you go and eat a Killer Burger while seriously rocking out to your favorite tunes. Nowhere in this town that I know of. I went for the Happy Hour that starts at 2PM and got the Classic. It was not the best burger i have ever had but it was real good for sure. Fries were done just like I like them. And as another reviewer falsely claimed you have to buss your own table and get your food. You Do Not ! They buss tables and bring your food to you. There is even a sign that says "You Dont Work Here. We Buss the Tables ! if you have a soda. Yeah you have to get it yourself. A buck for any size soft drink. They have beers on tap also. The decor is non existent and the place is clean but certainly not spotless. OK for me ! Just before I leave I go back to the counter and ask one of the guys. Do you guys always rock this hard ? They answered. Yes We always are rockin hard here. Rock On Guys !

The burgers here were fantastic! Everything else (the fries, drinks, layout, etc.) was ok, but definitely come in for the burgers. Juicy and layered with toppings. Exactly the way a burger should be.

I really wanted to like this place as I love burgers and peanut butter. Unfortunately the "Peanut Butter Bacon Burger" just had way too much PB on it. Perhaps this was a one time thing but I can't see what the fuss is about and didn't even finish it. Good fries and nice friendly staff and patrons. Will try it again but order something else.

Great food and great value. If you go after 6 pm, you may or may not get a seat inside. I have often had to get my food to go cause there were not seats available inside. Music seems to be turned up for entertainment of staff. Too loud to carry on a conversation without shouting. No fun there.

Greasy, gloppy burger. They offered Swiss cheese but it was that fake "cheese food" that is more like American slices filled with chemicals. Could feel my arteries closing. Yuck!

I don't get the loud music thing. I went there for the first time today with my 6-year-old daughter. The woman at the register was taking an order over the phone. The music was so loud I was amazed that she was able to hear the person on the other end. I almost said something about it. Glad I didn't, because now I see it's clearly part of their "ambience." I'm glad we found a table outside. The street noise on Sandy was nothing compared to the inside noise. My burger — the Teemah "Girlie" size — was really delicious, and so were the fries. I'll be back if I can get a seat outside or get it to go.

We headed to this place on a whim....and WoW this is a burger....made to order...and did I mention KILLER?? it takes a short while to get your juicy burger...and when it comes be ready....the barnyard will leave you very full...don't forget to get the peanut butter burger...it's very tasteyplace gets hopping during lunch rush...

Independent, definite Portland vibe, outstanding, creative burgers.... (I had a peanut butter pickle burger, and was amazed at how delicious it was...) Though not expansive, the 4 or 5 micro brews on tap all seemed to be great ones.... the amber ale I had was outstanding. Make it an early lunch, because the place was packed by 12:15. Prices were surprisingly reasonable, considering the high quality of the burger. Home made fries are great, too, here!

These guys stack it high and don't hold back on good ingredients. Creative, non-pretentious and they start with the "burger ball" on the grill. Fries are great too. Usually have 5 beers on tap, pretty much all local stuff. They even offer a "girlie" size on the burger. Just simple and true to what they want to do, love that.

Their burgers are absolutely wonderful and they have the best fries ever. They also have a very varied menu of burgers.

The name refers to how tasty the burgers are. Hopefully you want burgers and fries because that's all they cook. All of the burgers come with bacon. The fries were tasty as well. It was busy but they kept up with the orders.

Go during happy hour (M-F, 2-5 pm) if possible. We got a Teemah and a "Girlie" Classic burger, soft drink and a micro brew for under $20! Did I also say every burger includes bacon and bottomless fries? Staff is friendly and super efficient... minimal wait for our made to order food. The place is a little dumpy looking and the only option on the music is to TURN IT UP, but I'll go again next time I'm in town.

Each specialty burger comes with cheese and bacon (1/3 pound patty). There are many variations to choose from. I had a JOSE MENDOZA (Roasted Green Chilies and Jack Cheese, Bacon, Smokey House Sauce, Grilled Onion, & Pickle for $8.95). Each burger comes with fries (plenty). The savory flavors of the roasted green chillies and the smokey house sauce made this burger truly awesome. You have to try it!

Both my wife and I throughly enjoyed our burgers. My wife had the purist and was prepared perfectly. I had the meathead. Awesome.

We stopped here because of a recommendation. It has great burgers. I got the child size burger which was enough for me - especially since there are bottomless fries. The clientele covered every spectrum of society, which is a sign to me that everyone loves the burgers. Small and crowded, but everyone was jovial about sharing tables. The staff was great. One of our burgers was prepared wrong, and they immediately apologized and fixed it pronto. You stand in line to order, they bring you your food, and the bus the tables afterwards.

Killer Burger is a small chain of about 10 burger emporiums scattered mainly through northern Oregon and southern Washington. Located at the corner of NE 47th and Sandy in the Hollywood district of Portland, this particular unit is the original Killer Burger. According to their website, all their burgers are “made to order with 1/3 lb. of 100% local grass-fed beef, stacked high with fresh ingredients and served with bottomless fries.” The dining room was small and busy, with a kind of funky dive-like vibe. Indie rock and punk music played loudly while (interestingly) CNN was playing on the flat screen television. The guy who helped us with our order was very friendly and engaging. The menu features a lot of fun burger options, most of which come with bacon. My son ordered the Jose Mendoza (bacon, roasted green chilies, jack cheese, grilled onion, pickle), my son-in-law opted for the Bender (bacon, Sriracha BBQ sauce, crispy jalapenos, grilled onion), while I went with the Fun Guy (bacon, mushrooms, Swiss cheese, grilled onion, pickle). Our burgers were cooked to perfection; they were juicy, with just a bit of crunch to the edges and served on a soft chewy bun. The fries were crisp, flavorful and warm. However, the burgers were so rich and satisfying that none of us were able to take full advantage of the restaurant’s “bottomless fries” promotion. We were out-of-state visitors in the area for a family wedding and considered our visit to Killer Burger an almost quintessential Portland experience!

I tried two burgers. The peanut butter pickle bacon and the Epic. The peanut butter one is ok. The sauce is odd. It's kinda sweet and has a grainy texture. I'd eat it if I had to. The epic was so much better. Slaw, pulled pork and bacon lightly dressed. The buns were very soft which made them very mushy about half way thru the meal.Epic? Not really but it is pleasing to the burger craving palate.

Parking can be a challenge, and it can get packed inside (there's outside seats though), but it's worth it if you really want a burger fix. The burgers were not too big, not too small and spectacularly delicious. They're up there with Five Guys / In N Out when it comes to burgers. Fries were bottomless, but we never got a refill since one meal was filling enough. Music was subdued, but the noise from the crowd echoes and inside and can get a li'l bit annoying, I guess that's why there's outside seating.

The burger was excellent, the best I've had in a restaurant. The one bad thing is the music was so loud it was hard to enjoy the burger or really talk to each other. We had to eat fast to get out of there. I don't know if all of the Killer Burger stores play music this loud. We ate at the new one at The Streets of Tansbourne in Hillsboro, OR. Maybe they will have seating outside this summer, if not we won't be able to eat there. I enjoy music, but not that loud.

My sister helped me with my big move to P-town, i wanted to go eat at mokato's buffet in Vancouver and on the way there she saw Killer Burger. My sister LOVES burgers, it's her favorite food. She made a comment that I needed to go eat at Killer Burger and report back to her. I said I will probably never go (I like burgers, but i would rather eat other foods) and there is one in Portland so let's go try it out while you're here. We went to the Gresham location, we both agreed it was the best burger we have ever had. That's saying a lot , my sister have eaten at way too many different burger places and this is the best she's had. When we first got there I had said I would probably not come back...I will be going back for sure! Their burgers are so fat and juicy, you can see them cooking it too! The ingredients and their special house sauce are super tasty!

I've had In and Out, Sonic Burger and Five Guys and Fries...Five Guys and fries was my favorite until I had the Killer Burger burger... It is always fresh, not frozen, juicy, and so flavorful! I'm going to have to admit as odd as it sounds their peanut butter burger with cheese and mushrooms (added on) is the best burger of all I've ever had! They home make their special sauces and do a great job. The place may be small, but well worth it if you are into burgers! Even over Calamity Jane out by Mt Hood with all their flavors and specialties. You need to try this or any of their burgers! Everyone I've taken there has loved their burgers. Enjoy!

FINALLY FOUND A BURGER PLACE THAT DOES NOT DISAPPOINT. I liked the menu selections, liked the green chili burger not so crazy about the peanut butter version. The burgers are made with fresh ground beef and the fries are fresh cut and exceptionally good..The restaurant is small so be prepared for a wait but well worth a visit....

We enjoyed this place for a quick burger and fries. Very quick and friendly service. Next time I will specify that I like my burger medium well done. I was a little surprised by the rare. In all the food was good. Willing to go back.

My son, grandsons and I visited this restaurant several times while in Portland and loved the burgers and fries. They serve traditional burgers as well as unconventional ones; for those brave enough to try the Peanut Butter Sauce Burger or the Ortega Chile Burger, you are in for a treat! All burgers come with unlimited fries… and they're really good too!

I had dinner at Killer Burger on a recent stay in Portland. It was my only visit there, but I hope to go back again. I got the Peanut Butter, Pickle & Bacon Burger (without the pickles) and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. The atmosphere is very casual (it's kind of a dive) and the service was very friendly. There is a large selection of burgers and I would love to try more. The peanut butter burger was among the 5 best burgers I've ever had.

You can get anything from a regular cheeseburger to the habeñero infused or a peanut butter, pickle and bacon burger. This is a very small place that can fill up real quick. By far the best burger joint in Portland, slightly edging out Stanich's. They also have good micro-brew on tap which is always a plus. I cannot recommend this place more if you are a burger aficionado.

I'm not a burger fan, but this place has it figured out. Local and just the right groove of local, music, Portland vibe and eclectic staff. Fun service. And the peanut butter bacon burger is definitely killer. Eat your heart out vegans.

My family and I stopped here on way through Portland headed to Seattle. With three teenagers, we were not disappointed in the quality, amount or price! Great burgers including a Peanut Butter, pickle, bacon burger. Boys loved it and my daughter, 18, had same burger but with Garden Burger and said it was the best Garden Burger she's ever had. I had bacon cheeseburger which was amazing! Great local beers on tap, bottomless fries and friendly service. A must visit place while in Portland!

A great burger joint with yummy french fries! Every burger comes with BACON so how can you wrong! Burgers are 1/3 lb. patties! But you can order the "girlie" sized one too. They have several combos but you can create your own burger too!

My daughter wanted us to try this place out, nice atmosphere, rustic biker bar type. They serve beer so that's a plus. But the burgers are nothing better than what you get a Carl's Jr. The big down side is everything is ala carte. The drinks and fries were extra, ending up sending more that $30 for 3, and we had a free kids meal coupon so it was really for 2 people. Not some place I would go on a regular basis.

This is one of the best if not the best burger that I have ever had. They opened a location fairly close to my office in the sellwood district. A coworker drove by on his way to work and as we are both second tier vegetarians (we eat the things that eat vegetables so that they are more concentrated) we decided to return for lunch. That first visit was about a month ago, I have now been 4 times. The meat is very tasty without being cooked to death and the toppings and bun are also well executed. Plus come on 80's rock as the background it makes me fell 20 again ...... my waistline however has not reverted to the said period in the 80's. Oh well, I will be back many times, maybe I should invest.

Okay, no one thinks of putting peanut butter on their hamburger, but when it's the first thing listed on their giant chalkboard menu, you've got to know that they are proud of it. And believing that no one puts something that unique on the menu without being really confident in it, well, when in Rome.... This was a great burger, you have to take a bite and let the flavors come together. It is, quite simply, amazing. Yes, there are other, less adventurous, items on the menu, but hey, you're at Killer Bburger, this is not for the reticent. Live life with no regrets and try something new! (Also, I was at the Location in Sellwood, but it's the same company)

Consistently great burgers. Staff always friendly. Just wish they'd turn the music down a bit. Hard to have a conversation.

Our first time to KIller Burger and can't wait to go back! Went to the one on Sandy blvd.. Cool old building great beer selection, great service they bend over backwards to make your meal better! .

So I had heard about it but wasn't planning on going. We were going to Du's just up the road, but Du's was closed on a SAT (WHAT TF) Saw the people going in and said to the crew a burger sounds good so we went back to it. I got a farm burger BACON ON IT ALREADY, egg, slice of ham and I added an extra patti. BOOM SON That is a tasty Burger. Fries were HOT CRISPY, needed a touch of salt but easy to add. Music was perfectly angry loud to pound down on that much meat. Got it done! WILL BE BACK

The burgers here are the bomb!!! They are so good. They have the right amount of crunchy crust, like an old time burger. They only serve burgers and fries, but well worth it.

We stopped in on a trip to Portland right before they closed at about 9:30 p.m. and had some pretty good burgers! We tried the Epic burger piled high with pulled pork, bacon and of course a burger patty… this burger was good but not great. In our opinion too many competing flavors and just overdone in terms of everything they tried to pile on there. We also tried the peanut butter and pickle burger which was delicious! Again, a lot going on but the peanut butter added such a nice sweet element and made for an awesome bite. All in all this place was so creative with their burgers, friendly, and overall a thumbs up. We would try it again.

When I have a hankerin' for a good burger close by, Killer Burger hits the spot. I can't claim to ordering anything other than the classic, although I grew up with peanut butter on many things, so I can attest that peanut butter on a burger can be great. The classic is perfect, though. Juicy 1/3 pound patty, (you can't get it grilled to order, I was told, everything is medium well), bacon, Murican cheese, lettuce, tomato, grilled onion and slabs of pickle. The length-cut pickle is key. No pickle rounds sliding around like Ron Jeremy on satin sheets, you get pickle in every bite. Fries are good, but I'm not a huge fry guy, They're better than many, that's for sure. Note: KB discontinued their killer happy hour in October, so no more $6 burger from 2-5pm on weekdays, but that shouldn't keep you from coming in for one. It's a good burger.

There is a Killer Burger in Sellwood on 17th street that I went to yesterday. It is a bit hard to find parking on the busy street, but boy, the trouble is worth it! My son and i had the Classic burger that was basically a bacon cheeseburger, and it was delicious. The meat was big (I'd say at least 6 oz) and cooked perfectly (medium) and had plenty of toppings including bacon. The fries that came with it were hot, crispy and tasty too. The burger came wrapped in a type of waxed paper that was really handy since the burger itself was so big it was hard to handle (you certainly couldn't cut it in half easily). The small restaurant had seating for maybe 35-40 and had a big TV that was tuned to "Monster Trucks"....quite entertaining. The servers are friendly, but you might be wise to call ahead to order since it does take a while to get your food since they make everything to order (which is why it's so good!). The price for the burger and fries was under 8 bucks, with a soda the whole then was under ten, so it was a very reasonable price to pay for what was a thoroughly delicious burger! You have to try this if you're in the neighborhood!

Fun but loud place for big burgers. Not the tastiest or the best. Busy on a Saturday afternoon. I like the brevity of the menu. They have smaller burgers called "Girlie burgers" for two dollars less. On 17th in Sellwood south of Tacoma. A couple blocks south of Mikes, another burger place. Mikes has great Milkshakes.

I don't care what anyone says, this is by far the best hamburger in Portland. Ok, so some say the Pigeon burger or the Castagna burger or perhaps Foster or Little Burger. I tried Dick's Kitchen on Belmont thinking they might rank up there with their "only grass-fed beef" menu. None of them beat Killer Burger. There's one place in Oregon where I've had a better burger and that was at New Sammy's Cowboy Bistro about 3 or 4 years ago. But you have to drive to Talent, Oregon to get it. My current favorite burger is the Jose Mendoza, which is topped with roasted green chilis, jack cheese, bacon (every hamburger at Killer Burger has bacon on it), house sauce, grilled onion and pickle. My kids love the burger with peanut butter, which they'll split. My wife loves the classic, but she gets it "girlie style," which just means it's a bit smaller. She's recently been going for the Teemah, which has bleu cheese. They have decent fries, too. Great beers on tap (I love that they have Double Mountain) and seriously some of the nicest staff in Portland. If someone from Killer Burger is reading this, please open up on Sundays!!

The fries are really good, burger good, not great. We waited 45 minutes + for the food. Music really loud so that you are shouting just to converse. So....if you have lots of time on your hands and love loud music, this is your place.

Have been going to KB since they opened and love their burgers. But they have increased the music so loud that not only cannot you carry on a conversation, but it actually hurts your ears. They have a sign that says they will not turn it down and recently offered ear plugs. We have repeated asked about reducing they volume and they suggest that perhaps we should eat elsewhere. So that is what we are now doing. Love the burgers, hate the attitude. There are LOTS of other good places to eat in Portland

Stopped by Killer Burger when we dropped the youngest off at UP. Looking around there was mix of suits, hippie types, blue collar and college types. Pretty simple menu. Friggin awesome burger! Epic was just that. I'll be back before we head back to AK!!

This was not your fast food restaurant burger. It was nice and thick and juicy. It was brought straight from the grill, the french fries were equally HOT. Both being fresh and HOT is a big plus for me. The varieties of burgers makes it hard to decide which one to try. I chose the basic burger, I will return again if ever in the area.

Killer burger serves big, hot, fresh, amazing burgers. All of their burgers come with bacon. I suppose you could order it without but everyone may point and laugh at you. Go ahead, eat the bacon. Fries are always hot and crispy. The people who work here are always friendly and helpful. Warning: You will walk in but you will waddle out!

Yes, the music is loud (but the playlist is excellent). Burger with bleu cheese and the one with pulled pork are standouts. If you don't like loud music, then bring earplugs. Do NOT let that stop you from enjoying Portland's finest burger joint!

Endless fries means endless grease. The burger was also greasy and the "Swiss cheese" was actually that gloppy white cheese food stuff that is more chemical than cheese. Yuck! I really don't understand why these places are popular.

This place is tiny and crowded with very loud music. Not conducive to conversations. BUT the burgers are delicious. I can highly recommend the Tima and Black Molly. Also note that the "girly" size burger is tiny. If you're at all hungry, go for the regular size.

This place does make a variety of hamburgers. That is all they sell (as I recall). All burgers come with bacon. And fries. The place is very small. After you eat, you have to bus your own table. You get your own soda and come get your meal when they call out. Now, the food makes up for a lot of that! They do play much sic so loud that it is hard to have a good discussion.

This little joint makes some of the best burgers in all of Portland. The fries are very good, too. Highly recommend!

Definitely kind of a "hole in the wall" place. Lots of different combinations that you wouldn't think of and the portions are huge. My husband and son had the regular size and I have to admit that I went for the "girlie" portion which was more than enough. You order at the counter. All the kids were very friendly and happy to explain the menu. There are tables outside if you are lucky enough to be there when the weather is nice.

The thing that struck me almost immediately about their menu is that EVERYTHING includes bacon. Bacon: The candy of all meats. The burger was ridiculously good; quite possibly one of the finest this burger lover has ever had. Their ingredients are ridiculously fresh (I thought I'd heard some mooing coming from the back) and the service was superb. It's a burger joint that gets it right. Go here for lunch. Just do it. Do it because you're hungry and you're smart and because you'll be that much better looking with a Killer Burger in your hands...

I've been eating less beef lately, for a number of reasons. This isn't the place to try that. But if you want a fantastic, juicy burger, this is the place. My boyfriend and I rolled in close to closing on a hot Friday night. Even though it was late, the staff were all upbeat and helpful. I'd forgotten my glasses and couldn't read the menu, so the young man taking our order recommended the Black Molly burger. It was delicious! The patty was big (1/3 lb.), and seemed to be hand-formed. It what the menu calls philly steak, bacon, cheese, grilled onions, some kind of brined green chilis, and a smoky sauce. Yum! Pretty messy, though. Luckily, rolls of paper towels were on all of the tables. All burgers come with a big pile of fries. The decor is really casual, but laid-back, and fun. It's not super-cheap (expect to spend at least $10 for a burger and fries), but this case, we got what we paid for.

This is one of the best burger joints, ever! The burgers are huge and delicious. We had the Killer Burger because it came with bacon. When I say "It came with bacon", I mean it comes with a ton of delicious, thick cut bacon. This is a small place limited seating inside and a few benches outside, so be ready if it's crowded. The girl who took our order was super nice and it didn't take too long to get our food. I can imagine, however, that you could wait a while during the lunch rush. They also play great music from the 70's & 80's here. If you are a serious carnivore, you must come here.
Fabulous Burgers
The food here is delicious. The restaurant is small and packed (always a good sign) but service is friendly and food s prepared quickly. They have a variety of eclectic burgers, including one with peanut butter. It was the best burger I've had in a while.
