Best Burger

By mbmoser |

This place rocks. Always busy and not much seating. The place rocks out to 80s music all the time. The peanut butter, bacon and pickle burger is so amazing. Hands down one of the best burgers in Portland. Definitely a Portland must and there are multiple locations.

Awesome no frills burgers

By AGEinPrague |

If you like hamburgers and haven't been to Killer, you owe it to yourself to go. They're big so get a "Girlie sized" one unless you brought a serious appetite. My favorite burger joint in town.

EPIC!!!

By Guyonabike |

Peanut butter pickle bacon burger not my thing. But the Epic a Burger is truly epic! Beef patty topped with bacon, pulled pork and cabbage slaw. You can't order it girly size - why would you want to? Could be the best fries I have ever had- golden and crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside.

Peanut butter, bacon and pickles

By EnvelopeDude |

Awesome place and worth every minute of waiting in line! Super friendly staff - nice craft beer selection - but most of all? The burgers are incredible! So good I ate one in the restaurant and ordered another to take back to the hotel for a midnight snack! House made peanut sauce is right on the money - best burger I've had in a long time. In fact, I heard about about Killer Burger by overhearing someone eating a mediocre burger in San Fran - they were comparing every burger they had ever had to Killer Burger! This place definitely lived up to the hype!

Too rich. Too loud.

By Jetfiretraveler |

We found this place to be a bit stressful. Certainly has a cult following and I guess if you really love burgers and bacon, it may be your own little piece of heaven. The people are friendly.

Nothining but wonderful burgers. Great service.

By Vallie L |

Very fast and efficient service. Stand in line to order since it is a popular place for burger lovers. But you never wait too long.Just try and know what you want from the enormous order menu board. Then sit down and relax till your order is called up. Always fun and a good price! Nestled in the Sellwood neighborhood near the Sellwood Bridge and the Milwaukie Expressway. Easy to get to.Easy to find. Vallie Lenzen-DeBad.

how some define a burger

By dan raphael |

On a commercial street in outer Sellwood, is this compact place, on the corner with windows, not quite full. a place that's comfortable with itself. all burgers comes with bacon & fries. a good choice of taps. i go for the fun guy with mushrooms, cheese sauce, juicy and filling. the fries are middle of the road. the service is fine.

Best Burger in Portland

By TJCarb |

In a town with many great burgers, Killer Burger is the best. Almost all burgers come standard with bacon and great fires. Try the Jose Mendoza. Great tasting beef patty, crisp bacon, melted cheese, tasty (not hot) peppers on a great bun make for a wonderful flavor bomb. I can't eat a whole one, but leftovers are almost as good later for a snack.

Burgers and Fries what a surprise

By Beach and mountain fun |

My husband and I entered and the menu is on chalk board above the customer service counter. The employee asked what I would like and I was waiting for my husband. We looked at the menu i chose the Funguy burger which is the mushroom and swiss but I had them make it with cheddar. My husband had the epic and that contained pulled pork bacon coleslaw and cheddar cheese. All the burgers come with bacon and fries. I cannot have potatoes so I chose a side of coleslaw. The burgers were perfectly cooked very juicy and full of flavor the smoky burger spread is very good. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who likes good burgers.

I gave up vegetarian diet for killer burger!

By julianne244 |

Yes,it's true...my BF and I were in Portland and wanted to check out the city's amazing food truck scene..well, we were there and we saw them all, and they looked amazing, but we were freezing and we look across the street and see this packed restaurant, which happened to be killer burger and well, seeing how packed it was, it was kind of a no brainer....Wow...I'm supposed to be a vegetarian, and really am most days but how could you say no to a killer burger???? You just can't...not when you look at the mouth watering menu and the packed dining room of people chowing down on killer burgers.....So you step right up to the counter and order, well, a killer burger! If I lived or worked anywhere near this place it would be a dangerous situation. Really super awesome...don't miss it. Skip the donuts, have a killer burger instead....Really sticks to your ribs and no sugar! That's a win-win situation!

Very Disappointing!!!

By Debi S |

Never been to this location in Sellwood (only the KB in NE.). Won't be back. Steady night, not super busy. Had to wait over 30 minutes for burger. Burgers finally came out with buns so cold we thought they must have been just taken out of the refrigerator. Burgers were at room temp. Fries were cold. Some of us got a lot, some got a handful. Exceptionally disappointing.

Very good burgers and beer

By Todd W |

The burgers were very good with lots of interesting choices and I liked the beer a lot. The fries were OK, though my family liked them.

Fantastic Burgers!

By James Q |

The burgers here at Killer Burgers are, well, killer! The best is the Epic -- pulled pork with Southern-style slaw on top of a burger patty with BBQ sauce. Another great one is the Blu Cheese burger. Killer Burger is famous for its burger with peanut butter. While it is surprisingly good, I recommend that you go in as a group, order one and split it for everyone to try. Of Killer Burger's three (3) locations in Portland, this one is the most spacious with easy parking and the rock music is kept to a reasonable level.

Denied Service

My wife and I went to a food truck that advertised it was open until 2:30PM. When we arrived at 2PM they said they were closed. Never again with this jokers.

Best Burger

By MJCWRIGHT |

I've had plenty of good burgers but just in the last year or so this one has topped the list. I`ve been to the one on Sandy blvd. and the one In Sellwood. The one in Sellwood has more room, nice remodeled building. Don`t go here if your a vegetarian, all the burgers have BACON. The fries are great, nice and crisp and a variety of Local Craft beers. My favorite burger so far.

Who can afford an 17.50 burger???

By S B |

I just spent 17,50 for a burger and fries. That seems insane to me. I can’t imagine feeding a family, Like the quality of the burgers has also dropped significantly, they just have changed their meat provider it’s half the density. You also used to get fries with it and now you have to pay separately

Amazing Farm Burger.

By Donnie H |

The Burger and Beer combination is a winner. The pricing is a bit high. I like to have the option of an additional Brew when I want it.

Great local restaurant for family meal

By sarah g |

Nothing fancy but decent food and friendly staff. Boys enjoyed the bottomless drinks and fries. The burgers were well cooked and definitely above average. Recommended

Best Burger in AGES

By Oceantoes |

First time at this location, and like the others it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. They do a great lettuce wrap, with all the fixins and it was surprisingly not that messy to eat. Besides not getting heartburn from eating bread, I like how a good lettuce wrap burger allows you to really taste all the meat and cheese flavors, as well as the add ons so much better than with a bun. Two kinds of sauces for dipping fries and super friendly service make it a win. Order at the counter, food brought to the table, it's quick and casual. There's no parking lot, but lots of street parking, surprisingly we didn't have a problem on a Saturday night, and the place was hopping.

WHAT GREAT FUN!

By 753kathleent |

In fulfilling one of my bucket list items a group of us went roller skating in Portland, OR!! (A dream rink!) On our first night we all went to Killer Burger and wasn't sure what to expect. Initially it was not a great expectation - but turned out to be a great place for a crowd of rowdies! No one cared how much noise we made or how many tables we pulled together (4 or 5). The burgers were killer .. for real - as were the French Fries. Would totally advise going to any one of their locations!

Great place for a Fun Guy burger.

By Bill M |

The Fun Guy is a great choice, but be ready to use plenty of napkins for a juicy burger. The fries are plentiful and excellent

Great on-line ordering system and delicious food

By DonnieOshkosh |

My wife and I relocated to Milwaukie Oregon last July so we’re still “learning the ropes” as we try different places when we order take-out food. On Feb. 20, our son-in-law and our 4-year old grandson were having a sleepover at our house and we had decided to order from Killer Burger just a few miles away from us in Sellwood OR. Killer Burgers has probably the best on-line ordering system we’ve seen- you can order your sandwich and then either subtract things you don’t want or add additional things you do want. My son-in-law is a vegetarian so he ordered his Teemah with no bacon and substituted a vegan patty. I ordered my Teemah “as is” which included bacon and a regular beef patty along with the blue cheese and other great stuff on it. The burgers are just great! Only slight criticism is that the bun doesn’t always hold up to the sandwich with the sauce and toppings. We got there about 5 minutes early which is just right to have the food as hot as possible before heading back to our place a few miles away. My wife had the Jose Mendoza burger which included some great green chilies. I had a bite and it was excellent. My grandson had a grilled cheese which came with fries and a small juice box- he was happy. So, the service- between the system they have and when picking up is excellent and the food has always been delicious [we’ve eaten there several times]. The bun issue is not a big deal and would probably not be any issue at all if you were eating in the restaurant- but during COVID we’re just picking it up and taking it home. The burgers were in the $12-13 range with a few bucks extra if you want a “fatty” by getting another patty. Oh, their fries are also excellent- crispy on the outside but soft on the inside if that makes sense. You also get plenty and two people could easily share fries- and you could save a buck by ordering your sandwich without fries which you can easily do on their on-line system. Our bill before tip was $47.75 for the four of us [the kids grilled cheese was only $6.00]. So, I highly recommend Killer Burgers and suggest you try it if you haven’t already- whether you like beef or prefer a veggie sandwich!

great burgers and great dinks

By RSNN |

I love going to the Killer Burger, the burgers are so good tasting and so are their drinks. The servers are friendly and the service is good. There are a few items of merchandise up on the wall as well if you are interested in that sort of thing. I'll just stick to the great food and drink.

One of the best burgers around

By Laurie D |

This is a tiny little place that has some of the best burgers anywhere. Basically all they serve is burgers, but they have a wide variety and you can build your own. I had the peanut butter burger (don't knock it until you try it) I am not a big peanut butter fan, but this really worked. They use their own special sauce on their burgers and I really only got a hint of peanut butter but it was super good. Nice big patty and an endless side of fries. They also serve beer here. And have a weekday happy hour where burgers, beer and soda are discounted. Obviously a popular spot. As I was leaving there was a line out the door and people waiting for tables. You order at the counter and the counter girl was super friendly and helpful. This will be my new to go spot for burgers.

Tasty Burger & Fries + Beer

By Gcnarc |

We had burger & fries here on our recent visit. One Funguy and one classic. We also had their lowest alcohol beeron tap but I do not remember the name. It was fine. The burgers are large in size and very tasty. The fries were also very good. This is our grandchildrens favorite burger place in the Sellwood area. It is kind of what we used to call a local greasy spoon place back east. Paper towel roll for napkins Formica tabletops. We enjoyed it and will go back.

Best burger in town

By Heidi |

This place takes a few to get your burger but it is well worth the wait. The burgers are absolutely the best I have had in Portland and the fries are amazing. Very freindly staff also! They have a decent selection of microbrews on tap as well.

Best burgers in town

We love killer burger! Kids love it, too. Staff in Sellwood is super friendly and helpful. The burgers are varied and fantastic. The beer selection is awesome and the fries are killer too.

My recent addiction

Ever had a great burger with bacon and peanut butter? Really good service and the fries are perfect too. I bring clients here often.

Still Great

By Amy Y |

After a dozen visits, Killer Burger consistently presents perfect burgers and fries. Rock music, live sports, and smiling staff top off a great restaurant experience.

Once you try it you'll be hooked!

By Iheartseas |

The staff are typical portlanders. It's super loud in there. The food is worth it. But it's not cheap. One of the best burgers I have ever had!

Great Place to visit!!

By Gina A |

Such a fun place and great vibe! Levi, Andrew, and Shane were the best!!!!! Prices are very reasonable and they have a wonderful list of local beers. Friendly fun and good food. Also great music!

Juicy burger!

Went to killer burger for lunch , the place was packed , we had to wait standing for our burger , the staff was friendly and efficient . We got a place to eat just before our burger was ready , very juicy and tasty!

OMG!!!

One of the greatest burger places ever!!!! Even if you go to the MODA center they have a Killer Burger there and it's killer! Love it!!!

OMG!!!!!

By Pickyperson63 |

The Killer Burgers HAVE to be the BEST burger I've ever had in my life. I was hesitant because I was told the "Smokey Special Sauce" was fabulous and that didn't sound very good to me. I don't usually care for sauces on my burger, or anything called "smokey". However, it really made that burger special. The burger was cooked to perfection when you order it!! All burgers come with bacon on them, and a large order of fries. The prices are great also. My husband had the "Killer Burger". It had cheese, fried onions, fresh pickle and of course the bacon, along with other items. With the fries it was $8.45. Luckily they have a Gals Burger for $5.50 which is about half the size of the regular burger, but it also comes with bacon and fries. It's a loud and crowded place and you usually have to wait in line to order...but it's well worth it! The wait for us wasn't more than 5 minutes, and we were there at 6pm on a Friday evening. TRY IT!!!

Pretty Much The Perfect Burger

By Ally W |

I was recently introduced to Killer Burger, and have completely fallen for the Black Molly Burger. Bacon, 1/3 Pound Hamburger Patty, AND Philly Steak! Thrice the meat = One tasty treat ;) This burger also includes Killer Burger's tasty smokey house sauce, grilled onions, provolone, and brined green chilies. I also add tomato to mine for the perfect burger, and all burgers come with fries. While the food is AMAZING, and I have absolutely zero complaints there, the location and service can sometimes leave a little something to be desired. This place is pretty much ALWAYS packed. Sometimes with a 20 minute line out of the door just to place your order. The space is smaller, so they don't have a ton of staff to be able to keep up with the volume of orders. They do offer call ahead service, but it isn't the most helpful since half the time we have tried calling ahead they have either lost our order, or we still were forced to wait in line 15+ minutes just to get a chance to pay for the order. We will keep coming back though because it is truly the best burger I have ever had.

Delish, Perfectly Sized, and Warm Greetings

By AonMileFailte |

We walked in and everyone behind the counter yelled a welcoming and warm HELLO!! The burgers were delish and I fortunately noticed they have a half pint which is perfectly sized for a quick bite without overeating. The bread was fresh, soft and tasty and I loved my classic burger. The fries were crispy and salty in all the right ratios....well done!! A must stop for a quick, fresh and local bite while in Portland :)

family vist

By Thomas S |

Our children live in the area and enjoy the burgers. The music was loud, making it difficult to carry on a conversation. There is a good selection of drinks, including beers. The burgers were OK , however the entire meal was a bit pricey. We did enjoy the time together and perhaps next time, get the meal to go.

I agree with all the great reviews

By draePDX |

Great burgers, great fries, great beer selection. Small, crowded and too noisy is my only dissatisfaction. Go there in the off hours and enjoy. The three places I have visited also have a television or two with some sports selection playing. There are a few outdoor seating spots.

And We Have a Winner

By Jeremy S |

Portland, like so many American cities, has a huge and growing number of gourmet burger places to choose from and after trying just about every one (except Little Big Burger) Killer Burger has won me over. Their Sellwood location has a great vibe, the crew is helpful and friendly, the beer choices are good and all burgers include bacon. So far the "Jose Mendoza" is my favorite. I tried the "Fun Guy" (mushroom/swiss) on a repeat visit and was disappointed by the "swiss-ish" cheese, but that's a common problem. Looking way forward to my next visit for an "Old School." I've not yet tried the "peanut-butter-pickle-bacon" burger, but that's coming soon. I've seen a line out the door during the dinner rush so plan accordingly.

Great food, if you don't mind threatening hipsters, intimidation, and totally uninvolved management.

By JimmieMacPDX |

Subject: Killer Burger Location: Portland, Oregon, United States, North America Title: Great food, if you don't mind threatening hipsters, intimidation, and totally uninvolved management. ID#: 224949576 Look, the food , specifically "The Classic Burger" which is lettuce, tomato onion, bacon ,cheese, house sauce and beef, plus a good sized order of fries is just great. The food deserves a 5. I've eaten at the Sellwood site about 8 - 10 times; the Hollywood site maybe 3 times, and gotten lost trying to find the site in Vancouver. Both Hollywood and Sellwood have good burgers, and the "Happy Hour, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 P.M. weekdays makes the Classic a real good deal. Or at least it used to.... And therein lies the tale. Friday, 22 August, about 2:05 PM. Wait in line to place order, lots of younger families with kids there at the Sellwood site. Its a small space; seating is almost always a little dicey, and the crowd there for the bargain prices on The Classic at “Happy Hour” made it more so. Seating consists of a lot of small 2 person tables, standard height chairs.and around three walls a counter with very high stools. Long story short, two mid 20s very cool hipsterstrue punks were sprawled out across 4 of the 2 person tables. Seated all along one side, with two chairs piled with their helmets and hats, while they sat in the other two chairs facing the big screen on the north wall, with their feet up on the chairs across from the ones they were sitting in. Effectively taking up 8 seats. They were glued to a women's beach volley ball match. And you put your life in jeopardy if you dared to ask them to give up their package holding chairs or their foot rest chairs. Several people tried to use the other chairs at that group of tables and received a lot of verbal abuse, and gave up. Far too many of the the families with kids approached the tables, took a look at the tableau, and instead of confrontation, took their 6 - 10 year olds off to the high stools at the counters along the walls. A really uncomfortable place to feed a bunch of kids. After watching this for about 20 minutes, my food was delivered by the guy running the register. I asked him about the two hipster kids using the eight chairs, and pointed out the families scattered along the high stools and the counters. The response of this sandwich server / register runner was that "there is no reserved seating, those guys got there first and staked out the tables." I gotta' figure this sandwich server hasn't been in the restaurant business too long. I asked him if there was a manager present and to send the manager over to talk to me. His response was that "She doesn't have time for this b***s**t." Never did talk to a manager. The two cool hipsters were still hogging the table for 8 and watching their womens' beach volleyball when our party left just before 3:00 PM. I won't be back. While the food is good, the atmosphere – generated by both the cool hipster table hogs, and the non responsive management – ruins the experience.

So good !

The burger and fries are really tasty. The service is good and the place is cool. Good price. I recommend this place.

YUP - They Are For Real Unique Burgers

By LovesTravel51 |

Had burgers literally around the world and while I love Little Big Burger in Portland, had to try the peanut butter pickle bacon burger at Killer's and it was a unique taste treat. While I will still go to my LBB for my lunch time 'fix', will go the extra mile (or two) and travel to Killer Burger for the dinner time version. This is a great burger joint with some seathing and towel racks mounted vertically on the tables (you will need them). The ordering was fast, the service was with a smile and friendly and the burger was great. Going back to try them all . . . Go for it.

Very good burger.

By AnitaR5104 |

If you want a really good burger, go here. 1/3 lb burger is huge. But you can order a"girlie" burger which is more of a "regular" size. Lots of good toppings Good Parking. Good service. Good value.

Inventive and Tasty Burgers

By Timothy C |

Have dined here many times and am always rewarded with the made from scratch burgers and fries by an energetic and friendly staff. Quality ingredients and a variety of flavorful combinations result in top notch food. Good selection on rotating craft beer taps.

interesting cross section

By Milespert |

Went there because there was a crazy hour sign outside the establishment. Inside a curious combination of local flavors. From Peanut butter Burgers to Bottomless fries, non traditional servers and sports TV, mad efor a good experience. We had the crazy hour burger for $6.95 with bottomless fires and a $1.00 fountain drink although the microbrew selection looked great too. The food was great and the serice was too. Not too excited to stand in line to place the order but worth another trip. The non happy hour prices are signifigantly higher... Still struggle with a $10.,00 burger. Will return next crazy hour.

people watching and great food

By jfbr28401 |

The burgers were great- the special is one burger, one shot, one beer. The staff was friendly. Not a fancy place, just killer burgers.

Real wholesome burgers

By GitaNour |

i like their burgers because it's so tasty, you can eat the whole thing without thinking twice about how much food you are consuming. Delicious food, and good fries too. If you try it you will never think of other burger joints to go to.

Yum

By Seabeemom2003 |

Unique variety of burgers offered....all include bacon. Tasty fries and great beers to choose from....bring your appetite!!!

Good eats!!

By Jayhutch3 |

Great, greasy, bacony deliciousness. Nothing fancy but definitely as yummy as a burger can be. The dining room is small and can get crowded, but that's the only flaw I can find.

Awesome burger

By Pat R |

To start with, the service was great. Met a vendor here for lunch today upon his request, didn't know what to expect. Had a burger that was a combo of a Philly and a burger with a smoky sauce of some sort. Great taste! Cam with fries that they do something to in order to give good flavor. Very happy with the stop. Would definitely advise you to stop.

WOW!

By Rdrambuie |

I am from Canada and I now make this place one of my "must do's" when I am in Portland. Spectacular taste, fresh, different permutations and combinations...! Best burger I have had...BRAVO!

Bacon AWESOME-NESS !

By Jeff B |

Every burger comes with bacon! How can you ask for more? And the fries are crispy perfection. I went with the original killer burger and was not disappointed. Fresh and yummy. Was a Friday night at about 6:30 so we waited about 10 minutes for the burgers but well worth it.

OMG!

By NatAnn14 |

The Teemah burger was SOOOOOO good! I would recommend this place! It was reasonably priced and they had a deal, 1 shot, 1 beer and 1 burger for $15. It's a fun place!
