I wasn't expecting much, kinda looks like a bar from the outside - but was very pleasantly surprised. DH got the crab cakes and I got the blackened tilapia sandwich, both of which were awesome. Our appetizers were great too, and I have to admit it was some of the better seafood we've had in Chicago!

No oysters because of the "weather" and always out of stock from the wine menu.Staffs are not professional.Room for improvement.

Food was amazing and service was very friendly. Enjoyed all of the different offerings and specials. Fun for the family as well. Visiting family in the area from Milwaukee and has their king crab 🦀 legs! Very delicious!! Highly recommend!

My husband really wanted crab legs during our visit to Chicago, so we looked around at the options. We had never been here, but it was one of the few places that listed prices with their crab legs, and it wasn’t outrageous, so we decided to give them a try. My goodness, this place is so cute! We made a reservation online, and we were seated right away up front. It’s cozy, and it was busy on a Friday night. We ordered a 2 person platter, and the crab cake was SO good (never had a crab cake even close to that good). We ordered and split another one, which was $12 but worth it. There was a good amount of crab on the platter. We were very happy with the meal. It hit the spot and was just what we were hoping for that evening. I highly recommend it!!

King Crab is one the BEST places in Chicago to get some real fresh seafood. I've been here at LEAST 30+ times and I have never been disappointed with the food or drinks. I recommend the escargot :-)

Quaint and intimate setting with a pleasant ambiance. Staff was polite and professional. Unfortunately the food is mediocre. We ordered calamari appetizer, house salad and King Crab. The crab was either old or over cooked (I didn't thick that possible) ours was dry and tasteless not sweet and succulent as it should be. Sorry we won't be back, we really had hoped for a better dining experience.

Went here with the wife to get my fix of crab. As an appetizer, ordered mushrooms stuffed with crab meat. Waitress tells us ...."Sorry no crab meat". Ordered chicken wings instead- small, dry and tasteless. For entree, my wife ordered Crab Cakes. Guess what, no crab cakes at a restaurant named "King Crab". I ordered King Crab legs and what I got were DEFINITELY not King Crab legs- they were small Snow Crabs at best. Now I've spent a good deal of time fishing in Homer Alaska, and know what a King Crab leg looks like. To add insult to injury, these legs were definitely frozen, as the meat was stuck to the shell and hard to extract. When our entrees arrived our waitress tried to serve us someone else's order- it looked like clam chowder. The beer (Summer Shanty) was tasty and cold- that was the highlight of our meal

The outdoor patio is a fantastic spot to enjoy your meal. That gets high marks from me. Our server was quite good too. And the garlic pita pieces they bring to the table are deliciously addictive. All of that said, the food was mediocre at best. I ordered the soft-shell crabs for dinner which were pretty bad...looked like they might have had a breading/coating on them but were too soggy to tell. I ordered them sautéed, so there should not have been any breading. Additionally, I asked if they were fresh or frozen & was told they were fresh. If so, which I question, they had little flavor. My husband's fish was pretty decent, but nothing memorable. With so many good/great restaurants in the area, the only way we would go back is to sit at the oyster bar & have a cocktail & oysters.

The atmosphere, the food and the service were all wonderful!!! I would definitely recommend this to anyone who loves a great choice of seafood and a friendly neighborhood atmosphere! Melt in your mouth delicious food.

The food here was so good, we got the crab platter to split with two people but could honestly eat one myself. We also got the mussels for the app, the sauce that came with it was really good. Our waitress was very nice and energetic. Overall a great experience but expect to spend some money here.

I had a blast here! The three course special menu was a bargain for the amount I received. I also did the oyster bar specials; the oysters were fresh and fantastic. Our waitress was phenomenal and had great recommendations.

This versatile restaurant is great for a quiet date night, family dinner with the kids, business meetings or getting together with friends for drinks. There is something for every taste and price point and even great choices for non seafood lovers. The Cy Burger did not disappoint. Service and food are always top notch!!

We made our first visit to the King Crab House after enjoying an afternoon play down the street. The service was ok but the food was only average. My wife and I were disappointed that there weren't more seafood choices on the menu. The price of the food items was midrange.

We had a groupon for $40. There was 4 in our party. Our Bill Was over $120. They are way overpriced ... messed up our order... They only had 1 other table of 4 and they were already eating when we got there. The waiter was slow about waiting on us. But the other guy cleaning the tables, was pulling our plates as soon as we were done, even stood there and waited for 1 of us to finish. Did not offer dessert. We told when we ordered we wanted separate tickets because of the groupon, but they brought 1 check. It was like after they served us they were just trying to rush out the door. Will never go back.

Nice service and friendly. Ordered lobster and stuffed lobster. They Thad no flavor and were tasteless. Only had the consistency of lobster. Stuffing was terrible and tasteless and full of oil. Crab cakes were like mush. All filler. Go elsewhere

I had the crab stuffed shrimp and it was mediocre. My friends had the crab cakes Which she enjoyed and the ship scampi was watery and bland.

When you pull up to a restaurant valet and he tells you there is no room for your car, your visit has gotten off to a bad start. Parking 4 blocks away and trudging thru the slush didn't help either. Our reservation for a large group was honored and we sat in the back. The décor looked like it hadn't been touched (or cleaned) since they opened. Our table was near the washrooms and you could smell the disinfectant in the dining room. Drink orders were placed, but it took a while for them to arrive. I though the menu was basic and offered nothing special. I had the shrimp scampi and thought the sauce was watery and bland. One of of friends ordered 2 appetizers and asked that they be served with the entrees, but they came out early anyway. Several of my friends ordered crab and I think they enjoyed it. I will give the waiters credit for taking the time to divvy up the bill so we didn't have to do it which was a nice touch. I don't think I'll be back.

Ate here last week and was not disappointed. Our server recommended the Oysters Rockefeller and the Mussels as appetizers, both of which were delicious. For our entree, we had the Jumbo King Crab Legs. They were so good! Very filling! Will stop back again when we're in town :)

We came here for brunch on a Sunday. I enjoyed the Crab Benedict. They also have brunch selections that do not include crab - which my husband enjoyed. Our server was friendly and helpful.

My husband and I went there with the kids couple weeks ago. We all had a great time. Food was delicious and very reasonably priced. They have specials all the time. We were sitting outside on little deck. We loved the food and the atmosphere. We will be there back soon!

Celebrating a 3yr anniversary with my guy and this was the MOST AWFUL EXPERIENCE I have ever ENCOUNTERED at a restaurant! The staff is uninviting, my waiter was so unfriendly it was rediculous!! I had to ask him if he was alright and if he were having a bad night! The food was HORRIBLE! My baked potatoe was made in the microwave....REALLY? Who the heck does that? The shrimp alfredo was so bland it was like eating rice cake! The shrimp in the alfredo obviously just came straight out the bag or some crap, I mean seriously people, just CLOSE THE HECK DOWN!!! NEW MANAGEMENT PLEASE! You couldn't pay me to ever step in that place again. To top it OFF, my bill was $67.00 for CRAP! I could have gone to Red Lobster and maxed!

Very small place in a nice neighborhood. Needs a lot of updating. We were immediately seated at a 2-top in what seemed like grand central station. It was a narrow hall between the front and back of the restaurant and adjacent to the kitchen and bar (which was in the middle of the room and it appeared everyone was on top of everyone else. Definitely NO SOCIAL DISTANCING here! Constant dishes clanking and people walking extremely too close to your table (mgr/owner included). Our chairs were so wobbly that I thought they were going to fall apart as soon as we sat down. Too many loose screws? I asked for a replacement chair and was promptly given one, however when I pulled it towards me to sit down the seat bottom lifted right off! We asked to be moved and the very pleasant female mgr/hostess promptly relocated us to the larger back dining area. We had a large u-shaped booth, however, be careful when sitting down…the springs can be seen and felt on the seat. OUCH!! The prices were way too expensive considering the quality of food served and atmosphere. I had some blue points as an appetizer that were very small & tasted ok. The king crab legs were ‘old’ and the drawn butter tasted odd so I asked for some garlic butter and was told there would be a $3.50 up charge. Really, even after I complained about the butter not tasting right? If you order the BOGO crab legs remember to ask them to bring out only 1 pound at a time. They didn’t and mine were cold by the time I got to the second bunch. Sorry, but we will not be going back.

We ordered prawns, crab cakes and tuna... All were a bit "old"... for a fish restaurant to serve not fresh fish seems bizarre... the crab cakes had no real seasoning and may have been re-heated... maybe a smaller menu would work? Vegetable sides are very skimpy, so good luck if you don't want french fries!

I have dined at King Crab twice and each time had a pleasant experience. Both times my wait staff was friendly and accommodating. I didn't like the drink I ordered and they immediately took it back and got me something different. The food is very tasty and was served rather quickly. They have ask you can eat crab legs in Sunday for lunch if that's your thing, but I'm a loyal fan to their sea bass which was cooked perfectly. I'm a Chicago native and King Crab is definitely on my list of great seafood for the area.

My fiancee and I love coming here for the amazing crab and fish. We usually split the jumbo king crab and it has yet to disappoint us! We also love getting the salmon or the swordfish its always cooked perfectly. Every time we come we are always greeted warmly and the service is great!

My friend and I found this dining spot near the Steppenwolf Theatre - delicious, well-seasoned and fresh Alaskan crab and sides - reasonably priced and great customer service! Highly recommended!

The service was amazing, we walked in and were seated immediately. The staff was really nice and attentive. And, of course - great seafood!

Nice restaurant, friendly staff, food was excellent. Prawn linguine which was excellent & very tasty. Would recommend.

A bite to eat before Steppenwolf. Three orders of Chesapeake oysters, one order of shrimp. Grilled frog legs, jumbo sea scallops, stuffed swai, and snow crab legs. Followed by key lime pie, New York cheesecake, and coffee. Great food, great service.

Went here for the first time last week. The oysters were delicious. The crab and shrimp platter was good. I think next time I'll probably jut sit at the bar to get their bar specials.

If you want to get crabs in Chicago (the good way), this is the place. An AMAZING bar menu with the least expensive oysters anyplace I've been! Jill at the bar is a friend of mine, but she doesn't pour my drinks for free. Go rogue and ask her for a custom drink. We tried "her" raspberry martini, Caribbean breeze, and a freaking amazing bleu cheese martini. It was like a bleu cheese smoothie! And getting back to my crabs, well, let's just say this is the way to get them! Get here when you can and get a seat at the bar. Watch Marciano shuck the oysters. It's a great! You'll thank me.

A place where you can eat crabs, oysters, shrimp without spending a lot. We had a good time as the place is welcoming. The food was excellent. Recommended in Chicago.

Went for our anniversary date best crab legs and friendly service by far!!! Katelyn is a very nice server and recommend we come back and we will! P.s pita bread was the best ever!

A short walk from live theatres. Service was very good. A pretty good menu even though it's called King Crab for a reason. Had oysters and the escargot for appetizer. Make sure you get the escargot. Split the seafood platter which consisted of 2 lb crab and crab cake. Will visit again

The atmosphere was nice, service average at best. She ordered a prime NY Strip and felt it was just ok. I had a seafood platter consisting of a 6 oz lobster, 1/2 lb king crab, and three shrimp. Really just an average dining experience with so many other solid selections in Chicago.

I had the worst experience. It's a seafood restaurant, and they serve margarine to dip your seafood in. Seriously? Margarine? When I asked for butter they told me they had to melt down individual packets. By the time they did that my seafood was cold. They made it seem like it was the BIGGEST deal me requesting butter. I was stressed out just trying to get good service. The food was not the best either. I got crab legs, lobster tail, and fried oysters.I did like the oysters.

A few years ago this was one of our favorites. Won't go back again though. It needs a complete makeover; decor, menu, quality, management. The back room carpet is old and smells awful, the booth seats have holes, the seafaring decor is cluttered and outdated, the walls are dark. The food was not up to par. The potatoes were cold and old. The seafood did not taste fresh. The wait staff were uninterested. They need to strip out this place and start over.

Very nice place (A Golden Gem) we had the all-you-can-eat snow crabs weekend lunch special from 11 am to 3 pm and they where GREAT!! big clusters that came in 3 s fresh and hot, But for $38 I would recommend to add a soup or salad and unlimited garlic pita ;) other then that I'll be back to try something different on the menu because everything that was brought out to other customers look really good!!!

Go here, sit at the bar, drink a mai tai, and eat 95-cent oysters shucked right before your very eyes. Lots of fresh, never frozen fish. All you cat eat snow crab specials. It's like being on the seashore, except you're in the middle of a city.

The oyster po boy special was 18 bucks. I expected it to be fantastic. Had about 6 soggy oysters with some thousand island dressing?? to put on them. Very small sandwich for the money. The menu posted on this website has less expensive choices than the menu shown to us in the restaurant????.

Stumbled on this place while visiting Chi-town and sat at the bar. The food would have gotten "excellent" except the first batch of oysters wasn't so flavorful - it happens with fresh fish. That said, the next batch were amazing, as was the shrimp, and best of all the crab-legs. Then more delicious oysters, more wine, all-around great night out. No Chicago hotel concierge will send you here because it's a crab shack that's really affordable and unpretentious, which makes it a great place to hit up if you love seafood and don't need all the upscale stuff but like a nice comfortable neighborhood place. Good wine, great food, friendly bartenders and owner, and Guillermo shucking fresh oysters right in front of us... this place rocked.

This place was almost as good as the seafood I had in Ocean City, MD last year (it don't get much better than that). This place is rated #1 seafood place in Chicago, so naturally I had to check it out. They did not lie. This place was as good (or maybe better) than the Oysters Rockefeller I had in New Orleans. I had planned to eat a lot of seafood, but the Oysters Rockefeller and salad filled me up. My sister had the Blackened Catfish sandwich and soup. Everything was excellent. Will be returning in September, this will be my first stop (restaurant). I'm going to try and get something different off the menu. The waiter was really good too. Also if you go use the restaurant.com certificate ( it will save you some money).

We stopped by after work for the daily bar special. Oysters are only .65 each, shrimp (and large ones) are only .90 each and 5.95 for mussels that are in a bowl of amazing garlic and butter sauce. We asked for more pita bread just to finish up the broth it was that good. The service was excellent. Jill our bartender is adorable and made sure we had everything we needed. Cold drinks, wonderful service and even better prices. King Crab House is definitely on our list of new favorite seafood restaurants. Traci and Tony

I lived on Chicago for 10yrs and wanted to go to Cys crab house however it was out of business. We decided to go to king crab for lunch- the food was good but the service was terrible. There were 4 adults and child at our table and it took 3.5hours for lunch!!! 10 minutes to get our money back after paying. Ridiculously slow. We were leaving and noticed nobody was in the restaurant except for one other table with 6 people. Won't go back ever again!!!

Love this place - always has specials, great chef's, great bartender, great food. I visit here once a month, would go more often but live on the East Side of Chicago. Planning my next visit already!

After being snubbed at Boka's, my girlfriend and I ended up at King Crab Tavern & Seafood Grill. We did not have a reservation and were seated immediately. The service was excellent. We shared the steamed clams which were scrumptious and we both ordered the Rockefeller style scallops which were delicious. Had the house pinot noir which was very good. Would highly recommend this place to all of my friends.

We were on an oyster quest and found King Crab. It was very quiet when we arrived during lunch on a Saturday but more people came in as we ate. My friend is fussy about her oysters but was very happy with our dozen - actually another six was ordered after the dozen. Both people who ordered different seafood pastas were very pleased. The stuffed mushrooms and escargot were much enjoyed by 2 other of our party. And I was quite happy with my blackened catfish sandwiches. The little hot garlicky pita bread points were brought in baskets and we stopped being ashamed of how many of them we ate. The staff was very warm - I got the impression they were genuinely pleased we were there. We enjoyed our table in the window and the entire meal. None of us found the quality of seafood lacking in any way - we would recommend.

We dined there for my friends' birthday when it first opened and had a fantastic crab experience. Friendly & attentive staff, great cocktails & tasty food from entrées to dessert! Would definitely recommend to anyone who loves sea food, my friend had a steak and said it was as awesome as the rest! Have already booked a table for next week and can't wait to be back and enjoy the terrace!

Cy Sadaka is a legendary Chicago restauranteur who knows a good thing when he sees (or tastes) it. Maybe that's why he decided to move his iconic King Crab House Chicago from its River North location to its original spot at 1816 North Halsted Street in the Lincoln Park neighborhood, at Willow and Halsted. Maybe that's how my wife and I re-discovered one of the city's best seafood and shellfish restaurants. Because now it is much more accessible, for us. That area, north of Steppenwolf, is becoming a very popular destination for diners. And it's close to our favorite butcher, Otto Demke at Gepperth's, at Halsted and Armitage. King Crab House Chicago has been in business for over 30 years and has built a well-deserved reputation as the oldest and perhaps the best crab house in the city. It also has a popular full-service bar with HD TVs to keep up with the latest sports events. The Bulls, Blackhawks and Bears weren't playing on the occasion of our most recent visit. So we could concentrate on a delicious meal and friendly conversation. We started with cocktail shrimp, New England clam chowder, lobster bisque and a chicken Caesar salad. The seafood choices are always first-rate. I chose whitefish while my wife had Norwegian salmon. But it was tough to pass up red snapper and Chilean sea bass, which we recently have become very attached to. Is it better than our Mediterranean favorite, Branzino? King Crab's fried shrimp and grilled prawns are also excellent choices. For dessert, we shared a large slice of key lime pie. But how can you go wrong by choosing either key lime pie or chocolate mousse cake, tiramisu or New York cheesecake? That's the thing about King Crab House: You can't really make a bad choice, just a lot of good ones.

This restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, but the Ultimate Crab Combo comes with one full pound each of King and Snow crab as well as a generous yummy crab cake. The kids portion of snow crab and popcorn shrimp were generous and perfectly cooked. A bonus kids can choose any side so they don't have to have french fries. The chocolate martini was the best I've had (and I've had many). Highly recommend this restaurant.

I stopped by with a friend for lunch and had the best meal! The place was nice, comfy, and very clean. I had the best crab cakes, some delicious calamari, and an awesome chocolate martini. My friend had their deep fried soft shell crab which was also very good. Cannot wait to come back again!

Never been here /1st time and last time patronizing this place .. hubby and I was in the mood for seafood so I Google and based off the pictures I found items we both could enjoy . I paid over $140.00 bucks for this order and it was prepared poorly. We ended up tossing most of it ... I had two crab legs that was over cooked priced at 50 bucks and my other item was smashed in the container /appearance looked like slop I requested oysters( two orders that was also under cooked) . I called the restaurant asked to speak to management gave them my order number and was told to drive all the way back to them to show proof... It's 11pm and we stay in hillside il.. after explaining that was a inconvenience to us . The women on the phone told me verbatim perhaps I should pick another place in the future to order from since the drive is too far. I'm highly offended by the poor customer service. The food preparation and that when I called them in a professional manner I was talked too so unprofessionally. If it was a issue about money we wld never had patronize this establishment ! its about service recovery and making sure we come back. U guys will never get any additional business from us nor our friends and family.. its places like this u will see in a few years out of business and I can see it happening!! Rude service /poor food quality/and quantity was subpar for pricing.. Word of advice... Take care of those who spend they hard earned money in desperate times We keep u guys open. Remember that when u take another order!

This is a new business I guess. Dead flower arrangement in the foyer. I got the $1 oysters and a glass of wine. Oysters were tasteless but what do you expect for $1. This could be a good place.

My wife and I love this place. We started out at the bar for some appetizers and drinks before settling down for dinner. We had the oysters which were nice and fresh, also they were the happy hour special at $0.75 each. The cocktails were good and the service was outstanding. At dinner I ordered the king crab legs and my wife had the stuffed Hawaiian swai. About 1/2 way through we switched plates because I wanted to try the Swai. The crab legs were large, fresh and meaty. The SWai was excellent (I would definitely order it again). Towards the end of our meal Cy, the owner, came out and greeted us. Seldom have we ever had the Owner take personal interest in his diners, we were impressed. Overall the service was outstanding and we left knowing that we would be back.

The seafood fresh, service was great and personable, the drinks were good. The atmosphere reminded me of the cozy, seaside restaurants along the Florida and California coasts.

Apparently the big real estate deal that was supposed to take over all of that space did not go through. King Crab is back. 30 years doing this and they must have something right. It is exactly the same. Sit at the bar and eat oysters for $0.65 each with a two drink minimum. Daily specials. Wings. It is a dive bar with great ocean specials. Worth a try for sure.

I visited King Crab on my birthday on 6-11-19 with my daughter from Bolingbrook, Il. The food and service was great. I just wish they had've honor my birthday with lil discount on tab.

This King Crabs House is a lovely neighborhood shack with old time vibes and old timers had great Easy Coast oysters. The key lime pie was truly amazing for dessert. We also tried the prawns and crab, but found the crabs to be lacking in quality. Their garlic bread that accompanies meals is delicious. The service was wonderful. 18 percent gratuity is attached to each bill.

It's a bit off the beaten path but worth the extra effort to find a parking space. We had a Groupon that saved a bit - full bill for two at the table was $80. The food we got was fresh with wonderful flavor. I had deep fried oysters for an appetizer - the chef came out of the kitchen and hand selected six from the tub of fresh oysters on ice at the bar so I know the oysters were fresh. Some of the best fried oysters I've had away from a beach. My son had calamari and they were excellent. For main courses we had fried soft shell crab (me) and crab legs (my son). Both were awesome. Nothing had that "previously fresh before it was frozen and shipped" taste. A bit on the pricey side but service was great and the food was wonderful - I would love to go back...if I didn't hate driving in Chicago so much.

The atmosphere is great, layed back, quiet a place where you can enjoy great seafood. The Brunch is excellent on Sundays.

We went for dinner on a Wednesday evening, the atmosphere was nice, and there were only a few other tables. Service was terrible! We waited forever for our drinks all night and had to walk up to the bar twice to get our own,our server was busy smoking and talking on her cell phone. I ordered the Mussel appetizer and asked if I could get fresh bread served with it to dip in the sauce, our waitress replied, "yes". Our Mussels came to the table in normal time, had good flavor, but there we only "6" ,very small Mussels. I live on the West Coast and know Seafood, this was a very, very, small portion and our bread didn't arrive until we were done with our dinner. My girlfriend ordered the fresh tank Lobster, she was able to choose which one she wanted and the way she wanted it prepared. She thought the Lobster was great but the rest of her dinner, vegetables and a Baked Potato were overcooked. I had the New York Steak, Medium Rare with the vegetables and potato as well, the Steak was cooked perfectly, but very tough, and the vegetables were mushy. The service staff was very stressed out and there was nobody In the place,we went about 8:30 at night. I had a few double Vodka Lemonades, which I was charged $16.00 a piece for and not told until I saw the bill. This was Smirnoff I was drinking, you can get a half gallon for $17.00, OUTRAGEOUS!! The beers were also very expensive. We had a Groupon for a $40.00 discount and still had a bill for $135.00 for two people after the discount and we had no desserts. Very slow, unorganized service with no POS Ordering system in place, everything is hand written and our Waitress simply didn't care. We wouldn't recommend this restaurant even if you use the Groupon discount, not a good dining experience.

I love Crab and Oysters..... I usually I to Oyster bah or Shaw's .... my 2 favorites in Chicago. KING CRAB HOUSE: the name was promising. We got in, sit at the bar .... 0.65$/oyster - 2 selections ( if you consume 2 drinks/person ) . The plan was to have few oysters and then having the King Crab. The Oysters were terrible, tasteless, no sea water at all, like they were washed under tap water. We took a look at the client plates and we did not like what we saw. We decided to paid the bill and go away!!!!

I hadn't eaten here in a long time. We visited after the theater and had the salmon. The fish wasn't bad but the broccoli was tasteless. The service was fair. Way overpriced for what it was. Won't go back.

This restaurant is an oldie but goodie. I went with with my boyfriend for his birthday dinner on a Monday night. Its a smaller, somewhat intimate restaurant, but still pretty casual. They have specials every night of the week and we were lucky enough to be there for the King Crab Legs special and for $26 it’s a pretty good deal. We shared the lobster bisque and the oysters Rockefeller as appetizers, both of which were good. My boyfriend got the stuffed lobster tails as his entree - really good. I got the King Crab Legs special and they were delicious, but quite difficult to crack open! The service was good and overall we enjoyed our dinner and will definitely be back again.

We've gone here for years! They just moved to a new location but I have been a regular for 10+ years. When we have people visiting we always take them here. The crab legs, and lobster are every bit as good as Shaw's. The menu has great variety of fish, shellfish, steaks and even pasta. Casual and fun they often have bar specials. The oysters and shrimp are a great starter, but don't overlook the appetizers. Great for couples or family.

The menu is appealing, but the food itself wasn't. There is much better seafood available in Chicago.

Wonderful place! Its like Florida in the middle of winter. Great Friendly Wait Staff, excellent food, Locals are very friendly. Specials are awesome. At the moment they are running 1# King Crab dinners or 6 oz Lobster Tails for $19.95. 65 cent oysters, 35 cent wings and a shrimp deal as well....Very Good Food!

Just left satisfied. Stopped by for snacks after shopping, and returned for dinner. Jumbo King crab legs delightful and excellent value. Not an upscale place, so what!

We visited over Labor Day weekend and service was somewhat slow. There were three of us in the party and two of us ordered the Alaskan King Crab (medium sized), portions were sufficient. It was a little pricey but the food was delicious so it did not disappoint. For those who like calamari,I would highly recommend the fried calamari appetizer, it was delicious. We ordered the tiramisu to take home because we were too full to eat dessert in and that also was very good.

I have fortune enough to order the Oyster Rockefeller and Buffalo Chicken Wing today. As a customer from China, where has the most delicious food provided, it is quite difficult for me to find a very tongue tasty restaurant here in Chicago. Especially cooked seafood and the basic dish like chicken. I did not have much hope for the food at first until I received it with my own hands, the food was packed carefully with different dipping sauces, and the amount of each box is very high, reminded me of China, this is a restaurant that actually give out enough food for the customers. For taste itself, it is even a better experience, the oyster is juicy, and the sauce and the natural taste of the oyster has combined perfectly. The chicken is also combined with the perfect amount of the Buffalo flavor, not too much, not too less, with actual big wings. I am very happy about this lunch experience, and I would continue order from this restaurant, I truly appreciate the hard work this restaurant has put in for their customers.

have eaten at this place several times before and have enjoyed the food. but ownership must have changed because last night's food and service was highly unsatisfactory. the menu actually had "slashed" prices (lines running through the "old" price and a cheaper price posted)-however, they refused to honor the stated price when I presented a restaurant coupon and charged us the higher price!!! they also were out of the beer we requested from the menu and an entree that my husband ordered (also on the menu)-servers attitude was sullen-will never return to this dump!!

My lovely bride, my beautiful daughter, and I were very excited to visit the King Crab, and planned our evening around dinner there. The $25 off coupon was an added bonus, too. I made a reservation over the phone, and the young lady was very polite, however that was the end of the joy for us. Our waiter (whose first name begins with the last letter of the alphabet) was wooden and unwelcoming. Perhaps he was turned off by the coupon and thought he would get even more stiffed with a lousy tip. The tepid lobster bisque tasted like pumpkin puree, and the likewise tepid clam chowder had the same odd, though milder flavor. Both came with no crackers, bread, and both were the worst examples of those soups I have ever encountered. The Stove Top crab cakes were tolerable, but, like the mashed potatoes, were served cold. The crab stuffed shrimp were of good size, but the stuffing, again tasted of the box variety. The crab legs were fine, but how do you mess up crab legs? The waiter seemed in a hurry to get our table cleared and we had to protect our plates from being whisked away numerous times. He asked (oh I despise this phrase) if we were "still working on it." My lovely replied that she was, and would like some more coffee, to which he replied in a loud voice, "I asked if you were still working on it?" When he did refill the coffee cup, he slammed it down on the saucer and stalked away. He was never polite. I looked around and saw other staff being polite and actually smiling at the diners, while offering pleasant comments and service, so this guy must not be the norm. I even saw the owner outside pushing a driver out of the snow, so I guess we just got unlucky. Our experience was dismal and we were glad to get out of the place. My lovely bride and my beautiful did did not feel well all night. Fortunately, I got rid of the nasty stuff I ingested during the night. By the way, I did not stiff this poor, sad waiter. He got ten percent of pre-discount tab, which was more than he deserved for being such a jerk.

We came here to celebrate my daughters 22nd birthday, on a snowy night where everyone was trying to stay in. So based on the decent reviews, she wanted Crab Legs to celebrate her birthday, so we decided to go to King Crab. My husband and her 2 brothers arrived before my parents and my daughter. They place some small square pita bread squares on the table. I thought this a very poor bread choice, in a very small bowl. So we decided to order appetizers because we were hungry. We wanted Calamari but the waitress told us they were all out and they must have sold out yesterday. This should have been our warning! So we ordered wings and chicken quesadillas. They were ok just average but not for the price. The portions were very small for the price, 4 quesadillas so that was 2 flour tortillas cut in half for $10 and 6 wings for $10. Finally, our family arrives. My mother asked the waitress to split the check because there was 8 of us, she didn't seems to happy about this request. There was a King Crab Special on Monday 26.99 which in usually 40. My 18 year old son and my daughter ordered 2 orders of the crab legs. My Mom orders the scallops with spinach, my husband, dad, brother and 10 year old son ordered the ribs. That seemed the most hearty thing on the menu, since they are not seafood lovers. I ordered the salmon, since I have a shellfish allergy. Food comes out crab legs look good, salmon, scallops did as well, but the ribs were not in a f a slab as presented on the menu, they were split and didn't look too appealing. They brought out some garlic butter for the crab legs and my salmon, since the sauce was made with shrimp stock. My children tried their crab legs and they were very disappointed with the taste. They tough and rubbery and some of the baked potatoes weren't cooked all the way, they were hard. My dad and husband tasted the ribs they were bland and the sauce had a terrible flavor. As they tasted them they knew the ribs weren't fresh as if they had been reheated. My salmon was fresh, I put the butter garlic on top which made it tasty. My mom said, the scallops were decent. Not to much you can mess up with these 2 dishes anyway. My daughter and son were upset because their food didn't taste good, especially since it was her birthday and this was something she wanted on her birthday! My mother tells the waitress that my daughter wasn't happy with her food and my daughter told her how the crab legs tasted. The waitress says, " oh let me show you how to crack them". This made my mother upset and she told the waitress that she doesn't need to show her how to crack them and that she was insulting my daughter by saying this to her. My daughter told her she was talking about how they taste and she needed order something else. So the waitress was not happy at this point, you could see it on her face. She took both of their plates away and came back with the menu and said " you shouldn't order the crab legs, since that's how they come". This upset my daughter even more! She felt as though the waitress was chastising her in some way as if she doesn't know what she was talking about. Of course then my mother gets upset even more and tells the waitress about her demeanor and the waitress points her finger at my mother and says "I'm not serving you" My mother was highly offended by the finger pointing and the gestur, this set her off. At this point the dinner is ruined and birthday too!! The foods not right, family is upset, no one really ate any of their food. It was time to go!! The manager comes over to ask, "what can she do to make it better" At this point nothing! She said, they are looking for a new waitress, she won't be there much longer. Well this doesn't help our situation now. Whatever the manager was saying, mom was not hearing it! She was ready to leave out of this place for things got any worse. Who wants food after that experience. What will they do to your food? After all this, these are the thoughts that cross your mind. We left the restaurant, it was one of the worst experiences we ever had at a restaurant. We have been to many of them too all over the county. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!!!! There are much better places to eat in the Chicagoland area!

As the bicycle rider zoom by on their new reserved section on MILWAUKEE Avenue in Chicago the lobsters await you at the front door of King Crab. Owners await a December, 2014 liquor license so it is BYOB. Store across the street provides a discount if you forget. King Crab is part of a series of restaurants. From the street the entrance is small so when you do enter the bar section it is a two story, chandelier hanging, oyster bar, with large four person booths. There is a second room for more intimate dining. Decor is pictures and a few fish on the walls. The lobster was good, served with little fanfare. It is a no table cloth kind of space and suggest you go if you like seafood.

We walked into this place wondering why it was deserted, as it is in a good location, has valet parking and outdoor seating. I think at one time it was probably decent, but it harkens back to the decor of the 80's with dusty mounted fish and fishing nets on the walls and ceilings, peeling blue paint, dirty carpets.... Sat at the bar where they had an incredible special, a $2.00 hamburger which was decent, especially for the price. My friend had a blackened tilapia sandwhich was he said was wonderful. The bartender was pretty clueless as to the menu, the neighborhood, what fish was in season........kind of spaced out and not attentive, which isn't really acceptable when there are so few customers. A gentleman (the owner?) filled water glasses as you entered, but then sat and watched TV rather than making sure the rest of our needs were met. I think another contributing factor of not loving this place for me was a huge menu of seafood, and very few patrons, which always makes me wonder how fresh everything can be. It felt like it should be on an episode of 'restaurant renovations' and think it could be much better with a pared down menu, attentive staff and a good cleaning.

My husband and I had reservations. We arrived a few minutes before only to wait nearly 40 minutes. A couple of times we were told our wait will be just a little longer until finally communication ended. We decided to leave and didn’t even receive an apology. I will say the food looked very good. I wish I had the opportunity to try it. Not saying I won’t go back, but it will not be any time soon. The place is very tight and cramped and as with all the restaurants in the area parking is very scarce.

just visited king crab for their $1995 1lb alaskan king crab leg special, great food, great draft beer selection. i recommend you try this place. old world tavern feel was really nice too.

sleazy ownership and female waitresses. many years ago it had great service and great food. In 2013 none of them can inform you about the fresh specials.

This place doesn't look like anything special from the outside. It appears to be the only restaurant in its immediate neighborhood. Inside, it's warm and welcoming, with a prominent bar and tables in the front. The ambiance is neighborhood tavern, cozy and far from modern. We were greeted warmly by the bartender and server, but that may be partly because one of our party is a regular. The food was very good. We started with perfectly crafted martinis, which we sipped while enjoying starter plates of fresh oysters and mussels, both just fine. My entree was soft-shell crabs, among the best I've had. Others had medium-size sea scallops and New York strip steak and pronounced them excellent. Service was quite good, attentive but not intrusive. Prices were higher than what I'd have expected, but overall this was a very good dining experience.
What happened???
I dropped in at King Crab on a Sunday and had a dozen oysters. The oysters were fresh but they were only cool and should have been cold. I should have known that from observing the display case and saw a lot of melted ice exposing the oysters to the warm room air. I wasn't impressed with the rest of the restaurant. The windows had a lot of grime on them .the restaurant needs a good cleaning . I won't be bzck
